so like... at a concert, it depends on which concert you're talking about lmaoooo if it's a harry concert, you wear some louis merch and bring all the rainbows. if it's a louis concert, you wear harry's rainbow tpwk tee and again bring all the rainbows. that...... well i feel like that usually gets the point across lolllll but as for what i wear, again if it's a harry/louis (or in the old days, 1d lol) concert i wear all the rainbows. i have big rainbow, bi, and ace flags so i usually rotate between those, i have my eye makeup and nails usually done in the colors of one of those flag options, and then i'm usually also participating in a rainbow fan project, so i'm then also passing out rainbows. so i am essentially a walking rainbow. i also figure that is like... half the job done, yeah? i still bring rainbows to niall's shows too btw but they are much smaller usually and not as overt. because niall's shows just don't feel the same as harry and louis' lolololol and honestly, who needs to advertise as a larrie at a niall show anyway? hahaha

OK ALSO. i really really really wanted to like the dreamer trilogy so bad and there ARE a lot of things i like about it but. man. i dont know if i can get through mister impossible. like i genuinely really love the whole thing with matthew going through a rebellious phase and having his crisis over finding out he's ronan's dream, and declan's "im soooo normal and forgettable" being slowly peeled away as he figures out how to be HAPPY instead of just SURVIVE

(me complaining about shit that doesnt really matter under the cut lol)

but at the same time. theres sooo much i just cant get over. i kinda hate how the existance of sweetmetals is just sort of thrown out there all of a sudden and kinda invalidates all of ronan's efforts to wake niall's dreams because SURPISE turns out theres just like. paintings and jewelry that already exist that can do that. I also just really dislike how the stakes have changed between trc and tdt- in trc, the escalation felt like a logical progression of increased stakes. and then in tdt we just go right off the bat with "theres an evil government agency we hadnt heard of until now that wants to murder ALL DREAMERS!!!!" just feels like it comes from nowhere.

and then just even with some of the small details, like with the nightwash being retconned into being like a thing that ALL dreamers experience if they dont dream or stray too far away from the ley lines when i had originally assumed it was a side effect of ronan being partially unmade by a hornet demon???? idk it just bugs me that the explanation of the nightwash happening to ronan more frequently is that he dreamt too much or whatever when. the first time we saw it was caused by the unmaker demon. idk that ones more of a minor thing that just kinda annoys me

the BIGGEST thing tho is that i just. do not like Bryde. At all. Ive mentioned this before but some of the shit hes telling ronan and hennessy reminds me way too much of cult indoctrination tactics. ESPECIALLY his whole thing about not contacting your family/friends because family and friends was like the WHOLLLLEEE POINT of the raven cycle. and idk man i just think its really funny that mister impossible is like ok. ronan is an ecoterrorist now. like WHAT

Time. Is. Not. Real. They tell me that it is the end of summer, which very much seems to be confirmed by the VMAs “Song of the Summer” category, for which Watermelon Sugar is nominated, and seems to be doing well. If you were surprised that the Fish video (as I lovingly refer to Adore You) did not get any nominations, you aren’t alone - David Meyers (the video’s co-writer and director) sat down with the Decider’s Lea Palmieri to talk about the video. 

As there always is with Harry’s content, there seems to be some confusion as to how the Fish idea was born , but other than that, he spoke about the Eroda ‘verse, and it’s charm and creation. Of the Erodian’s suspicious nature, he said, “...The superstitions were a set up for how society generally reacts to different things. They fear change or oddity, even if it’s what’s best for them”. This definitely does not sound like it could be a metaphor for something else. Nope. Not at all. My favorite quote of the article, though, is about the fish’s mini taco - “The taco was a whimsical way to express friendship between Harry and the Fish.” My dude. I don’t know if we were listening to the same song, but it's called “Adore You”. I don’t know how platonic that one can be. 

And speaking of (not so) platonic dinner dates - unseen pictures of a young Louis and Harry keep leaking! From where? Uncertain, but the stand out photo of this batch is one from a restaurant in Amsterdam (this city just keeps popping up, doesn’t it?) circa 2011. While on the topic of Louis, I have to do a bit of a retcon: I claimed yesterday that Louis’ drummer was seen with Harry merch at a recording studio. While this is, indeed, true for David Dyson, who did work with Louis until 2019, he is no longer Louis’ drummer! Steve Durham is! That was totally my bad - sorry Steve! Louis himself is still (unfortunately) MIA, but Pride of Britain did post an old video of him encouraging the British Public to nominate their unsung heroes.

But! On the topic of music, and bands, there are only TWO DAYS left until Liam’s birthday show! And!! He’s making merch! It includes an LP Show T-Shirt and cap, some of which he will be signing and giving away during the show. He also has a few remixes of Midnight out with Sylvain Armand & Kijo Franko as well as Magnificence. Go check them out, I guess. Also, he seems to be continuing his art exploration!  He did a Bob Ross painting that actually looks super cool and I hope he explores this habit further, as it’s always great to have more than one creative outlet, especially one that is low stress and no pressure (read: Not One Direction).

This is really cool, he wrote, and then went back to his farm, steadfastly ignoring any other content that might have been released yesterday that had something to do with him. He’s been notably absent for a while now, and I think he’s more of a ghost than I am! 

I’m gonna end with my favorite news of the day: Fault Magazine put up a picture of Niall in white leather on Instagram, as well as a quote that must’ve been for an interview around the Heartbreak Weather promo season. Fault magazine quotes him, “With any relationship, there are fun moments and there are days when you feel like you’re in a music video with the rain pouring outside as you watch crying through the window”. I think Niall stole my middle school diary, because there’s probably a direct quote somewhere in there. Do you think there’s a way we could collectively ship him chocolate and rom-coms? That always used to make me feel better.

i'm only gonna do snowbaz, and also these are just in order of how recent they are bc i dont know how to rank them lol

1. Something's Gotta Give Now (T), 7k

this is my most recent snowbaz fic and i really really liked writing it. it's an au, and i don't really want to give too much away because part of what i like about this fic is the way the backstory unravels. but the gist is: baz plays a sexy, angsty vampire on a popular tv show, and simon is very bitter and very funny about it.

i did this after not writing snowbaz for a while, so i feel like i was able to return to the characters with fresh eyes and some broken bad habits. the third person is nice too -- i definitely write more cleanly in third. it's definitely not crack (which was my original intention lmfao, it's technically my crackfest entry), but im not really mad about it. i gave up on my ability to not to take it seriously about 500 words in. also, there's a second chapter that it just unhinged shit lmfao.

2. The Places We Build (T), 4k

this fic plays with the idea of: what if simon and baz decided in their first year at watford that they didn't want to hate each other? what if everything was the same, except nothing was the same, because they were friends? i like it because i feel like it has a strong heartbeat. i love to see how much of a world i can create in the least amount of words, and there's a looooot of history packed into these 4k words. very tender. very cuddly :)

3. love means slowly using losing your mind (E), 8k

this one was so fun to write. another au -- baz is a wedding planner, simon is penny/sheps best man (yes, both of them). it's loosely based on THAT scene from the movie 27 Dresses (iykyk) but it stands on its own. i like how i leaned into the setting here -- it feels like a very accessible world to me, like you could close your eyes and see the pub. and also i really just like to put my blorbos in a situation where they get drunk and have fun hahaha. as always, shit gets kind of real and snowbaz are their usual intense selves. also there's awkward car sex, which was hilarious to write.

4. Jump Up, Chosen One! (T), 8k

dude. what the FUCK was i on here..... this is perhaps the most plot-driven thing i've ever written, while also being one of the WEIRDEST things ive ever written. the premise is: simon goes off, trapping him, niall, dev, and baz in a Super Mario Bros game. and like. it's silly, yeah. but when i read back through im always like -- oh, ok, there's a lot of heart in this! good job rory! more reasons to love: lots of fun niall & dev screen time, simon solving problems thru the power of Being Determined, a tender moment that i interrupt several times by reminding you that simon and baz do indeed look like mario characters, penny solving problems thru the power of Being Clever, and a surprise tonal shift at the end lmfao. idk man. there's a lot going on here and i think it's p sweet.

even though i hate that i used a fuckin long ass shakespeare quote as a title (lmao. like it fits and i love that sonnet but still. tacky !), this fic is great. @starwarned and i talk a lot about the power of The Slutty M-Rated Fic, and this is my best work in that regard. post-awtwb, date night -- they get ice cream and go to a bar and... shenanigans ensue. it's sweet and happy and nothing bad happens. NICE. the e-rated sequel is the first smut i ever wrote. i was so nervous about it. look at me now.... our resident blood slut LMAO.

Daaaaayyyyuuuummmm! That’s an impressive list of lyrics! I’ve only ever listened to harry&louis’ music so I didn’t realize just how much they all have similar themes. THIS BAND! 👀

Yep! On one hand there are only so many themes in euh ~mainstream music~, on the other these 5, all 5 of them came out of the same band that is surrounded by a whole bunch of elephants in rooms, everything being shady, shit not adding up, explanations that are welp whatever's actually going it's not that, crazy attempts to make shit look a certain wayS while they themselves seemed barely willing to participate? Not to mention the constant are they trying to communicate in subtle ways with those willing to listen that whatevers been said out loud is bullshit and that there's a whole lotta shit going on behind the scenes??? I could go on.

And then they proceeded to write again and again about how they're not talking, that maybe they should say things, that it's all lies, screaming but the words don't come out, anxious about it all, still waiting for things to be said and change and end, conflicted and doubting themselves how to move forward, and pretending. But on top of that it's also interesting how there's differences in how they're writing about it. Out of the 5 of them the way Niall has maybe written these things into is music he's the most going you can confide in me with your secrets, and Harry's on the other end of the scale constantly just struggling with himself with very little "im here for you" in his songs instead. All of them have a life outside of 1D struggles and I'm nowhere claiming this is all they sing about, but I do think this breakup was huge on all of them and it's definitely written into their songs. Thought that should be in here before anyone comes for me lol.

Niall: You can talk to me, you can be honest when you're with me because I know all your secrets and you know I'm also really anxious about this all and like shit did we do this wrong? I don't know but like. I see the real you and I'm here for you!

Louis: I am pretending you're not getting all of me here. You know as well as I it's all lies. And you there, you other person that's in this with me, I see you struggling and I'm here for you telling you we'll find a way, we'll find our place it's going to be fine ok? You're amazing.

Zayn: Fuhuuuucck I wanna spill everything. But aaahhhh no I'm not and it's driving me insane. but AAhhh God it was bad!!! Or was it? No it was beautiful. But no you know what? No. Fuck you just fuck you. Nonono I take that back I don't wanna fight. Hey bros whats up I'm ready to talk when you are like actually I am ready to give it all up and just cut all the bullshit and just set this whole industry on fire form the inside out bro's but I need you to come with me. But in the meantime I'll keep pretending look at me and all this fake shit around me its all fake and I fucking hate it.

Liam's just vibing in his Say-It-All corner going yeah I'm tired of this and I think there's beauty in it so I think we should just come clean but in the meantime imma make some christmas songs or something I haven't figured out how to put this into songs really so I try to subtly talk about it in interviews and lives and make really sad NFT concepts about being a caged creature that's got wings but is just lonely and not flying no that's fine right hahahaha lemme just make you all worried with a cryptic instagram story hahahaha I'm crying

What if it is not Bright. Just us trolling?

I mean... the one thing that is WEIRD is the IG glitch. I don't suppose it's him I mean he doesn't have time, right to come on Tumblr? but the whole getting blocked / unblocked in span of 2 hours and then the coincidental complimentary IG story made me laugh. in all seriousness it's pretty unlikely it IS him, but at the same time he does interact with fans and likes posts here and there on SM. so I can't exclude the fact he might have blocked me by accident (which is why the IG chat has disappeared). my guess is it's all one BIG coincidence, but it's hilarious because the pictures are so similar ie trees with an object stuck inside them, in my case a white flag, in his a red balloon. its just a head canon at this point. I doubt he's got the inclination to read fan theories about his TV show lol to come on tumblr, but it is possible he restricted me on IG. like I said I DONT KNOW either way. but I thought it was a JOKE until this morning when I saw his IG story. LOL. and now I'm like checking who saw my stories. I do have some verified users following me on IG, so if anybody saw that, they might think I'm important, even though I'm not. LMAO. like for example I have exchanged DMs with an unnamed singer and even received a 'x' in comment section from said unnamed singer. like I said. verified users sometimes do have slippery hands, too. just saying. same on twitter. had some verified people interact with me. gloria gaynor on multiple occasions lol, the late late show, josh devine, wheatus even follows me on twitter (many others I don't remember???) and that's with MY FAN ACCOUNT. this is like a civil IG account with poems and pics of nature and me living my best life. soooo. weirder things have happened to me online than this...

OK update 24 feb 22:20hrs: you CANT delete a chat by blocking and unblocking someone. I checked IG gurus. basically the only feasible explanation for the 'glitch' would be his website was down, but as I explained before. Niall Horan's IG was down today to MULTIPLE users not ONE. when I logged out I could see his pics. SO IT WAS ME WHO WAS RESTRICTED. ME.

so the conclusion would be that I was restricted from seeing his posts or something. but then. the chat? either he deleted it, since it should've bounced back automatically after the time out was over, or really this was the stupidest glitch in the universe where one user was affected and one chat deleted.

Louis's image has become stale thats what it has become. We are like out of his way completely this past year. But his solo fans? They think he hates harry, harry wants to ruin his career, he hates 1d, thats ok but his solo fans too think he is not straight, they think he broke up with harry and with a old man. Well there are still homophobes that think he is straight af and with his megirlfriend. But even they doubt it sometimes and yet they this circus is still going on.

If he is so with his gf (which he is apparently not suddenly because his songs got leaked so the narrative is that he is on off with his gf) then he should be married rn, considering his how excited he was when he asnwered if he wants to get married and have kids. But if you type louis tomlinson wife, google shows photos from 2012, they are so stale. And if you type louis tomlinson husband its him and harry from 2015, so there you go lol

his image is a mess and if they keep babygate around too long it will make him lose so many fans bc his het fans don't understand what's going on there. we'll have a repeat of 2017 when fans saw he was being he deadbeat and all decided to stan harry or niall and hate on louis.

1. PLANNING

It’s Zayn’s birthday, I ought to make something because so far I have made birthday posts for Louis, Niall and Liam. I didn’t participate in his birthday challenge so I had more time to create something for his birthday. I saw this post by @spaceniall​ and instantly fell in love with it. It's so clean, so neat,  an amazing edit. I had that post tagged for inspo and because my Louis’s birthday edit was a bit “grand”, I thought I should make something simple. 

I went to look for some photos of Zayn everywhere. Literally e v e r y w h e r e. I saved every photo I found beautiful and there were a LOT. I asked my friends for adjectives that describe Louis best and added them on my Louis’s birthday post, and I followed that approach for this edit. I asked several friends what they think of Zayn and collected the adjectives. 

This was a time where I haven’t used trello board, so I put all the adjectives in a google doc. Seriously I swear by trello board, they make my life easier.

After I had all the photos and the adjectives, I went to pinterest to look for the color palette. I forgot how and why I came up with this color scheme, but I believed I wanted something pastel and muted color. 

I had this idea to make an evergreen birthday post. I didn’t want to state any “happy birthday zayn” or his age on the graphic. I didn’t want to make all the edits to have his face because I wanted to showcase my graphics and typography style lmao. So I came up with 2 pictures with Zayn’s face and one central picture with his name. And I’m obsessed with space stuffs so this birthday edit is space themed.

2. PROCESSING

This is one of my earliest edits that I made in Illustrator, though I used Photoshop as well.

2.1 REMOVING PICTURES BACKGROUND

Remember I saved a LOT of Zayn’s photos? Yeah? Well I had a hard time choosing the right one. I asked Sabrina to help lmao. After I agreed with myself which photos I would use, I opened Photoshop and prayed it won’t crash after 5 min.

I uploaded the 2 photos and then I used selection on Zayn and then clicked inverse and deleted the background. Recently I found this website who can delete your background in 1 min, tbh that’s a life saver. I recommend using them, if you hate removing backgrounds with Photoshop. 

I saved the backgroundless Zayn’s photos as png. And we’re moving on to the next step

2.2 THE TYPOGRAPHY

I only used Photoshop to remove the backgrounds. Now onto Illustrator. Always pray it won’t close by itself every 5 min.

I don’t really remember which dimension I used, but I suspect it’s 600x700 px. I made 3 artboards and loaded the color palette I found from Pinterest. I made 3 rectangles as the backgrounds for each picture and filled them with my desired colors, 2 pink and 1 green. Green being the standalone was put in the middle.

A bit of excursion based on my experience

When you open an artboard in Illustrator, you’ll see a white background. When you save the file you’ve worked on, it’ll actually be transparent. That’s why I always draw a rectangle as a background so it has a solid color. 

I focused on ZAYN (middle pic) first because I wanted that to be the main focus. I don’t remember the font I used and I already deleted all files. I followed this tutorial to make the text. Basically you write your text first and choose effect > 3d > extrude and bevel > isometric top. Changed the colors according to my color palette. 

I moved on to the first picture, Zayn and the adjectives. I uploaded his photo to the artboard and put it in the middle. I wanted the adjectives to encircle him. I just followed this tutorial on how to make the effect. I made that text effect because that reminded me of the saturn ring lmao. 

2.3 THE GRAPHIC DETAILS

Once I got the typography done, I made stars and moon to make the edits merrier and more space themed. 

For the stars you can follow this tutorials. For the moon I made 2 circles, one of them was bigger. I put the smaller one in front and click minus front (I think). For the saturn planet, I made a circle with filling and an oval with stroke only, putting the oval infront of the circle and delete the back part of the ring (I hope this makes sense). 

I have these lines around Zayn, my intention was to make Zayn pop and kind of crown him or give him a glowy effect sort-of. 

All I did was follow this tutorial and delete the lines at the top, because I didn’t want it to be too crowded. Then I put some stars and planets at the top to balance it.

2.4 FINISHING TOUCHES & EXPORTING

I rearranged some things, zoomed out the artboard so I could see everything as one post and picked and deleted some unwanted things. After I was satisfied, I added my watermark and it was my old url, I just typed louistomlinboo. (Now I made a logo-ish and use that as my watermark and the logo is not dependent on my url)

Ok I lied I used Photoshop again… so I had these adjectives in 2.1 that encircled him right but some parts of the texts are above him. I exported my Illustrator file as a psd, uploaded it on Photoshop and used layer mask magic to delete the texts that were above him to create an illusion that the texts went around and under him you know. See the picture below, some texts are beneath him.

For this picture I exported the png file from Photoshop, the rest directly from Illustrator.

This was when I learned I needed to scale up, because on Illustrator they all look good in terms of quality. But when I posted it, the quality was reduced. That time I just exported as big as the dimensions and I was disappointed with the quality when it’s on tumblr.

3. POSTING

I uploaded the 3 pictures I have on tumblr and chose “happy birthday zayn” with star symbols/emojis to keep up with the space theme.

So I always write out what my caption will be with the “rich text” option.

 Then I go to this color html website to add the gradient color in the caption and remove the “;” with “ “ in here. Once I have everything, I change rich text to html so I can put the text with color in html mode. 

Put some tags related to Zayn. (self promotion time lol. i have compiled tags for 1d creators check them out here)

I finished I think a week earlier before Zayn's birthday so I saved it on draft. I posted around midnight (my timezone is CET), because oh boy it is a competition with birthday post lmao. That’s what I feel like at least. You know, everyone wants to make a birthday post, I feel I have a better chance If I post something first. Whenever I have something done earlier before a certain due date, I either save it on draft or schedule it so it’ll be posted automatically.

Yeah that’s it! It’s not as detailed as before I think because the files are deleted sorry!
