I think people are just losing the plot a little lol. This was such a sudden and tragic event and everyone’s emotions are turned up ten fold and I don’t think people are really taking the time to think things through all the way. I think everyone saying Niall needs therapy are just throwing out solutions that they think work because they don’t want Niall to be suffering and I get that, but it is invasive and insensitive in its own way. We don’t know him, we don’t know how he handles things or what he’s even had to handle in his life, he hasn’t shared much about his personal life but that’s what he wants, and he deserves that privacy. We have no idea how much this is affecting him or what he’ll do to cope, but that’s all up to him and as you keep saying, Niall himself has said so often recently that he has a happy and stable life, so we just have to trust that he’ll be ok. He’s got so many people in his life that know how to help him better than any of us do. People need to breathe and give it time. It’s just barely been a week, it’s going to get easier day by day.

so like... at a concert, it depends on which concert you're talking about lmaoooo if it's a harry concert, you wear some louis merch and bring all the rainbows. if it's a louis concert, you wear harry's rainbow tpwk tee and again bring all the rainbows. that...... well i feel like that usually gets the point across lolllll but as for what i wear, again if it's a harry/louis (or in the old days, 1d lol) concert i wear all the rainbows. i have big rainbow, bi, and ace flags so i usually rotate between those, i have my eye makeup and nails usually done in the colors of one of those flag options, and then i'm usually also participating in a rainbow fan project, so i'm then also passing out rainbows. so i am essentially a walking rainbow. i also figure that is like... half the job done, yeah? i still bring rainbows to niall's shows too btw but they are much smaller usually and not as overt. because niall's shows just don't feel the same as harry and louis' lolololol and honestly, who needs to advertise as a larrie at a niall show anyway? hahaha

It’s very in his lane, both of those suggestions. I think he was suicidal when he was younger, but then gave up on the idea before the events of the game due to its pointlessness, but I think it’s still reflected in his negative view on life and his apathy and bitterness toward a lot of things.

He doesn’t self-harm and I don’t see him doing that despite his masochism. But we might sometimes post something for aesthetic reasons, so don’t be too surprised if you see it!

Ned’s brother is not going to appear at all, Edmund’s second brother is also going to be briefly mentioned.

Niall’s siblings are going to play a bigger part, at least some of them in one of the endings. Edmund’s oldest brother is also going to be ~a thing~, but I’m not sure how much. Niall’s siblings (some of them) are going to have sprites, but the rest would probably be a text on the screen lol

They don’t interact with anyone other than their respective sibling, so they don’t have relationships with others. But everyone gets along on an OK level, there’s no spite or treason or anything. But also no one is particularly close to their siblings to be their best friends, hell, Niall’s brothers/sisters don’t even go to the same college lol

THIS FIC WAS VERY INTERESTING! I love a good camping fic, and this one actually had me nervous and worried for Louis the entire fic lmao, listen harry was gonna be fine but louis? he was babygirl in this fic! The writer did a wonderful job with Louis as well, made him very relatable and fucking funny as hell, but also very silly. Like yea okay you find a hot guy in the woods and decide yea il camp with him. I highly recommend:

This particular fic was extremely? insane lol but not in a like super wild way but i always find the murderer x unaware lover trope super interesting, and the lover finding out and still accepting them? i eat that up!!!!!!! so this fic was one of my top favs like god….louis was so interesting to me in this fic, ok obviously harrys character is interesting no doubt but like…he loves louis and louis loves him :

This fic was inspired by one of my FAV CHEESY horror movies called Valentine, which i highly recommend the movie if you like cheesy gory slashers with mild to okay acting lol. The twist at the end is very fun and the kills are sick asf, they did a really good job at like replicating the movie! This was one i have read before but hadn’t reread it literally years, so rereading it was very fun lol :

BUT THIS FIC is my top fic, it had me hooked from the beginning and continued to have me hooked the entire time. The red herrings to the plot twists to harry&louis interesting relationship over the course of the fic. It’s even got dogs!!!!!! Seriously though i highly recommend this fic. OK ALSO. i really really really wanted to like the dreamer trilogy so bad and there ARE a lot of things i like about it but. man. i dont know if i can get through mister impossible. like i genuinely really love the whole thing with matthew going through a rebellious phase and having his crisis over finding out he's ronan's dream, and declan's "im soooo normal and forgettable" being slowly peeled away as he figures out how to be HAPPY instead of just SURVIVE

(me complaining about shit that doesnt really matter under the cut lol)

but at the same time. theres sooo much i just cant get over. i kinda hate how the existance of sweetmetals is just sort of thrown out there all of a sudden and kinda invalidates all of ronan's efforts to wake niall's dreams because SURPISE turns out theres just like. paintings and jewelry that already exist that can do that. I also just really dislike how the stakes have changed between trc and tdt- in trc, the escalation felt like a logical progression of increased stakes. and then in tdt we just go right off the bat with "theres an evil government agency we hadnt heard of until now that wants to murder ALL DREAMERS!!!!" just feels like it comes from nowhere.

and then just even with some of the small details, like with the nightwash being retconned into being like a thing that ALL dreamers experience if they dont dream or stray too far away from the ley lines when i had originally assumed it was a side effect of ronan being partially unmade by a hornet demon???? idk it just bugs me that the explanation of the nightwash happening to ronan more frequently is that he dreamt too much or whatever when. the first time we saw it was caused by the unmaker demon. idk that ones more of a minor thing that just kinda annoys me

the BIGGEST thing tho is that i just. do not like Bryde. At all. Ive mentioned this before but some of the shit hes telling ronan and hennessy reminds me way too much of cult indoctrination tactics. Time. Is. Not. Real. They tell me that it is the end of summer, which very much seems to be confirmed by the VMAs “Song of the Summer” category, for which Watermelon Sugar is nominated, and seems to be doing well. If you were surprised that the Fish video (as I lovingly refer to Adore You) did not get any nominations, you aren’t alone - David Meyers (the video’s co-writer and director) sat down with the Decider’s Lea Palmieri to talk about the video. 

As there always is with Harry’s content, there seems to be some confusion as to how the Fish idea was born , but other than that, he spoke about the Eroda ‘verse, and it’s charm and creation. Of the Erodian’s suspicious nature, he said, “...The superstitions were a set up for how society generally reacts to different things. They fear change or oddity, even if it’s what’s best for them”. This definitely does not sound like it could be a metaphor for something else. Nope. Not at all. My favorite quote of the article, though, is about the fish’s mini taco - “The taco was a whimsical way to express friendship between Harry and the Fish.” My dude. I don’t know if we were listening to the same song, but it's called “Adore You”. I don’t know how platonic that one can be. 

And speaking of (not so) platonic dinner dates - unseen pictures of a young Louis and Harry keep leaking! From where? Uncertain, but the stand out photo of this batch is one from a restaurant in Amsterdam (this city just keeps popping up, doesn’t it?) circa 2011. While on the topic of Louis, I have to do a bit of a retcon: I claimed yesterday that Louis’ drummer was seen with Harry merch at a recording studio. While this is, indeed, true for David Dyson, who did work with Louis until 2019, he is no longer Louis’ drummer! Steve Durham is! That was totally my bad - sorry Steve! Louis himself is still (unfortunately) MIA, but Pride of Britain did post an old video of him encouraging the British Public to nominate their unsung heroes.

But! On the topic of music, and bands, there are only TWO DAYS left until Liam’s birthday show! And!! He’s making merch! It includes an LP Show T-Shirt and cap, some of which he will be signing and giving away during the show. He also has a few remixes of Midnight out with Sylvain Armand & Kijo Franko as well as Magnificence. Go check them out, I guess. Also, he seems to be continuing his art exploration!  He did a Bob Ross painting that actually looks super cool and I hope he explores this habit further, as it’s always great to have more than one creative outlet, especially one that is low stress and no pressure (read: Not One Direction).

Zayn esta brillando por su ausencia, but he did take the time to like and comment on a fan’s art. This is really cool, he wrote, and then went back to his farm, steadfastly ignoring any other content that might have been released yesterday that had something to do with him. He’s been notably absent for a while now, and I think he’s more of a ghost than I am! 

I’m gonna end with my favorite news of the day: Fault Magazine put up a picture of Niall in white leather on Instagram, as well as a quote that must’ve been for an interview around the Heartbreak Weather promo season. Fault magazine quotes him, “With any relationship, there are fun moments and there are days when you feel like you’re in a music video with the rain pouring outside as you watch crying through the window”. I think Niall stole my middle school diary, because there’s probably a direct quote somewhere in there. Do you think there’s a way we could collectively ship him chocolate and rom-coms? That always used to make me feel better.

i'm only gonna do snowbaz, and also these are just in order of how recent they are bc i dont know how to rank them lol

1. Something's Gotta Give Now (T), 7k

this is my most recent snowbaz fic and i really really liked writing it. it's an au, and i don't really want to give too much away because part of what i like about this fic is the way the backstory unravels. but the gist is: baz plays a sexy, angsty vampire on a popular tv show, and simon is very bitter and very funny about it.

i did this after not writing snowbaz for a while, so i feel like i was able to return to the characters with fresh eyes and some broken bad habits. the third person is nice too -- i definitely write more cleanly in third. it's definitely not crack (which was my original intention lmfao, it's technically my crackfest entry), but im not really mad about it. i gave up on my ability to not to take it seriously about 500 words in. also, there's a second chapter that it just unhinged shit lmfao.

2. The Places We Build (T), 4k

this fic plays with the idea of: what if simon and baz decided in their first year at watford that they didn't want to hate each other? what if everything was the same, except nothing was the same, because they were friends? i like it because i feel like it has a strong heartbeat. i love to see how much of a world i can create in the least amount of words, and there's a looooot of history packed into these 4k words. very tender. very cuddly :)

3. love means slowly using losing your mind (E), 8k

this one was so fun to write. another au -- baz is a wedding planner, simon is penny/sheps best man (yes, both of them). it's loosely based on THAT scene from the movie 27 Dresses (iykyk) but it stands on its own. i like how i leaned into the setting here -- it feels like a very accessible world to me, like you could close your eyes and see the pub. and also i really just like to put my blorbos in a situation where they get drunk and have fun hahaha. as always, shit gets kind of real and snowbaz are their usual intense selves. also there's awkward car sex, which was hilarious to write.

4. Jump Up, Chosen One! (T), 8k

dude. what the FUCK was i on here..... this is perhaps the most plot-driven thing i've ever written, while also being one of the WEIRDEST things ive ever written. the premise is: simon goes off, trapping him, niall, dev, and baz in a Super Mario Bros game. and like. it's silly, yeah. but when i read back through im always like -- oh, ok, there's a lot of heart in this! good job rory! more reasons to love: lots of fun niall & dev screen time, simon solving problems thru the power of Being Determined, a tender moment that i interrupt several times by reminding you that simon and baz do indeed look like mario characters, penny solving problems thru the power of Being Clever, and a surprise tonal shift at the end lmfao. idk man. there's a lot going on here and i think it's p sweet.

5. In black ink my love may still shine bright (M), 5k

even though i hate that i used a fuckin long ass shakespeare quote as a title (lmao. like it fits and i love that sonnet but still. tacky !), this fic is great. @starwarned and i talk a lot about the power of The Slutty M-Rated Fic, and this is my best work in that regard. post-awtwb, date night -- they get ice cream and go to a bar and... shenanigans ensue. it's sweet and happy and nothing bad happens. NICE. the e-rated sequel is the first smut i ever wrote. i was so nervous about it. look at me now.... our resident blood slut LMAO.

honorable mentions, because im a dirty cheater. these probably belong in top 5 but ive been talking about them already recently so i didnt want to be repetitive.

Daaaaayyyyuuuummmm! That’s an impressive list of lyrics! I’ve only ever listened to harry&louis’ music so I didn’t realize just how much they all have similar themes. THIS BAND! 👀

Yep! On one hand there are only so many themes in euh ~mainstream music~, on the other these 5, all 5 of them came out of the same band that is surrounded by a whole bunch of elephants in rooms, everything being shady, shit not adding up, explanations that are welp whatever's actually going it's not that, crazy attempts to make shit look a certain wayS while they themselves seemed barely willing to participate? Not to mention the constant are they trying to communicate in subtle ways with those willing to listen that whatevers been said out loud is bullshit and that there's a whole lotta shit going on behind the scenes??? I could go on.

And then they proceeded to write again and again about how they're not talking, that maybe they should say things, that it's all lies, screaming but the words don't come out, anxious about it all, still waiting for things to be said and change and end, conflicted and doubting themselves how to move forward, and pretending. But on top of that it's also interesting how there's differences in how they're writing about it. Out of the 5 of them the way Niall has maybe written these things into is music he's the most going you can confide in me with your secrets, and Harry's on the other end of the scale constantly just struggling with himself with very little "im here for you" in his songs instead. All of them have a life outside of 1D struggles and I'm nowhere claiming this is all they sing about, but I do think this breakup was huge on all of them and it's definitely written into their songs. Thought that should be in here before anyone comes for me lol.

Niall: You can talk to me, you can be honest when you're with me because I know all your secrets and you know I'm also really anxious about this all and like shit did we do this wrong? I don't know but like. I see the real you and I'm here for you!

Louis: I am pretending you're not getting all of me here. You know as well as I it's all lies. And you there, you other person that's in this with me, I see you struggling and I'm here for you telling you we'll find a way, we'll find our place it's going to be fine ok? You're amazing.

Zayn: Fuhuuuucck I wanna spill everything. But aaahhhh no I'm not and it's driving me insane. but AAhhh God it was bad!!! Or was it? No it was beautiful. But no you know what? No. Fuck you just fuck you. Nonono I take that back I don't wanna fight. Hey bros whats up I'm ready to talk when you are like actually I am ready to give it all up and just cut all the bullshit and just set this whole industry on fire form the inside out bro's but I need you to come with me. But in the meantime I'll keep pretending look at me and all this fake shit around me its all fake and I fucking hate it.

Liam's just vibing in his Say-It-All corner going yeah I'm tired of this and I think there's beauty in it so I think we should just come clean but in the meantime imma make some christmas songs or something I haven't figured out how to put this into songs really so I try to subtly talk about it in interviews and lives and make really sad NFT concepts about being a caged creature that's got wings but is just lonely and not flying no that's fine right hahahaha lemme just make you all worried with a cryptic instagram story hahahaha I'm crying
