Okay so @old-and-new-friends I did see you comment on this post and I initially was going to respond with a reblog but the more I thought about it the more I felt it deserved its own post.

I hadn’t noticed this before, but I do agree with you that it is the Mako defence squad that will bring up poverty lok, and thinking about why that I’ve come to a chicken and the egg conclusion where I’m not sure if it’s an awareness of poverty that makes Mako more likeable or if liking Mako leads to fans to pay more attention to the role of economic class in characterization.

Either way I think that poverty is integral to Mako’s character, and so for people to hate Mako (not just dislike, or not jive with, or not make the cut of top 5) you need to ignore the role poverty has had.

The best example of this is with the love triangle. Mako anti’s love to point to the love triangle as proof he’s a fuck boy/bad person. And while a lot of Mako stand will point out that he’s a teen in his first relationship and just doesn’t know what he’s doing (which is also true) I think a lot of his decision making is perfectly logical if you consider money

Mako is shown to be aware of every yuan he has to his and Bolin’s name- he knows when his pay is short he’s budgeted every yuan, the error is only because Bolin took money without asking - blowing they’re entire budget. That one impulse purchase can ruin an entire paycheck shows just how precarious the financial situation is.

Knowing this the line of dialogue; “It makes more sense for me to be with Asami” while callous is true- Asami is the possibility of a whole new life, not just luxury but security, for him and Bolin.

It goes against modern sensibilities to choose for money- you marry for love and whatever. Which is a pretty privileged mindset. Like ideally sure, but if your current girlfriend is in control of your career, your livelihood (which Asami as the fire ferrets sole sponsor was), there is no way in hell I would want to dump her, or upset her. Hence mako’s people pleasing tendencies.

Mako antis will also point to the kiss, even if Korra initiated it he should have deterred her more (? Would love to know how), and he should have told Asami. Well if he upsets Korra too much she might quit, which puts mako and Bolin back on the streets. If he tells Asami and upsets her she might break up with him and stop funding the team, putting mako back on the streets.

If you’re not considering poverty (for mako antis this is greed, he just wants to be rich, wants wealth) then this is petty drama. If you remember that a wrong move could mean Mako and Bolin (which adds so much pressure like this is also your brothers life- you could be giving him everything if you just suck it up and stay with Asami) then the stakes are much higher

Again, it’s callous - this is an explanation of motivation not a defence- but once Asami’s money is off the table with her fathers arrest Mako is stuck “not knowing who to choose” he knew who he wanted but in the first half of season 1 being with Korra would have been the selfish thing, it would have been putting his feelings over providing food and a home for Bolin.

Korra and Asami were not yielding their power over Mako, but that doesn’t change that they had it. Or that someone who grew up the way Mako did, in a way that made him mistrustful, would be acting base on the belief that the worst is going to happen- because the worst has happened for him in the past, always.

And if people want to claim I’m exaggerating the stakes here, firstly I would like to say that only the avatar and Asami, the most compassionate people in the world, would be gracious enough to let an ex live with them. There is no reason Mako shouldn’t be assuming that a break up means he and Bolin are back on the street. And 2, in season 3, after his apartment is presumably destroyed from the spirit battle and he’s broken up with Korra Mako is homeless- he’s living under his desk. What he was trying to avoid in season 1 happens even in the best circumstances (and they are the best because Bolin can stay on air temple island and be safe; if he had to take Bolin with him I think he would have stuck it out)

You also noted how Bolin stand do not similarly notice the socioeconomic implications of lok, which at first glance seems strange. He and Mako come from the same exact background so you would assume that our two fan communities would have a similar awareness, but honestly it makes sense that we don’t as Bolin is the sort of poor person archetype that isn’t meant to challenge our system but comfort middle class and upper class viewers. He’s happy go lucky- see money doesn’t buy happiness. Because of Mako he’s taken care of, we don’t have to actually worry about him, it’ll all work out; he just wears hand-me-downs he’s not in any real danger. And finally, he’s a good, a himbo, no one who is actually smart and hardworking would be stuck in poverty like him, they’d be like Asami, or Varrick, and pull themselves up by there boot straps and ascend to a higher class. Bolin confirms what we already do believe about class in America. But Mako is smart, he solves the bombing case in season 2, and he works hard, he lives at work; but despite this Mako stays poor.

Jin:

Jin was not even worried about his supposed ‘time’ in prison during court. He knew that his smirk that he held during court infuriated both the judge and district attorney. He was sadistically pleased when the district attorney showed irritation when he asked, “why are you so happy? Are you happy from all of the murders and violence you have caused? Are you that sick in the head?”

Jin did not reply, but only gave him a wink and smirk.

Now, sitting in a prison cell, counting down the time until you came and broke him out of prison. When he heard commotion from down the wall, he knew it was time. Going to stand at the bars, he wrapped his hands around the bars, casually leaning so he can play the role of acting ‘suspicious’ on why there are gun shots being fired and people screaming. Once he saw your long hair and heard your voice ordering commands at his gang, he could not help but feel both turned on and in love.

“Where’s Kim Seokjin’s cell?” You demanded, gripping the collar of the guard.

“Fifth cell on the left,” he stuttered out, whimpering when he felt Taehyung’s gun being pressed to the side of his head.

Once you got in front of your husbands’ cell, you could not help but smile. “You look hot in a jumpsuit,” you winked at him.

When the jail cell opened, Jin brought you into him and gave you a deep, passionate kiss. Even though the two of you have been away from one another for two days, he still missed you like crazy.

“Hey, hyung, we gotta go or unless you want to be charcoal in t-minus five minutes, your choice.” Jungkook spoke sarcastically, leaned up against the wall casually, looking down at his watch.

“Watch it, Maknae.”

He was only answered with a bunny smile.

Yoongi:

Yoongi was leaned up against the wall outside, watching all of the other prisoners either play basketball or lift weights. He knew some of them, having ran into them on the streets or have done business with them, but that does not mean he is going to be buddies with them. The other ones, the ones he did not know, he found comical. From how they walked with such confidence and smugness, boasting about how what they did is worse than others to end up in prison.

Playing with the bracelet you got him for your second anniversary, he waited patiently for you. He knew that you were planning on how to break him out of this hell hole. So, when he saw a drome fly over the prison fence, he could not be filled with pride, knowing that his queen was saving him, something he found funny.

“What the fuck is that?” He heard the guards ask each other, but to be only answered by getting shot, the drome that Jungkook built having guns attached to it.

Screaming filled the outside, along with grenades going off.

Turning to look towards the explosion, he saw you walk out with a lady guard, gun pressed to her head as she led you to Yoongi. Once you saw him, you shot the guard, throwing her to the ground before you ran to your husband. When you got close enough, you jumped into Yoongi’s arms, legs wrapping around his waist.

“I fucking hate you, you know that?” Was the first thing you asked and the one thing that made Yoongi’s heart skip a beat happily.

“I know,” Yoongi smirked, taking your gun from you so he can get the both of you out of the shit hole of a prison.

Hoseok:

What scared the underground world the most is how equally crazy you and Hoseok are. Truthfully, the judge and district attorney, along with the police department were terrified when the newbie arrested Jung Hoseok and took him to court. He, obviously, was not warned about the one and only, Jung Hoseok.

Sitting through the whole trial with a blank, but deadly expression on his face, Hoseok was silent. He knew that the judge was terrified of him, which Hoseok found funny, playing with the old man by staring at him with a blank expression every time the judge and him made eye contact. Everyone in the court room that they will eventually be meeting their death soon from how they were going against the mafia boss.

Laying down on the uncomfortable bed, Hoseok stared blankly at the ceiling, messing with his rings. A terrified scream was what alerted him, but the laugh that followed after it had Hoseok’s heart soaring.

“Princess,” he whispered, but then scowled. “What the fuck is she doing?” He asked himself in disbelief.

“She is breaking your dumbass out of prison. Unless, you enjoy the bed and shitty food, then forget about it,” you answered sarcastically, arms crossed over your chest.

“Dumbass? Better watch your mouth princess,” Hoseok warned, smirk on his face as he walked up the bars.

“Fucking gross you guys, just unlock the jail cell and lets go before the swat gets here,” Yoongi groaned, shooting a guard.

Once you opened the cell, Hoseok brought you in, breath fanning across your neck, “Just wait until we get home.”

Looking up at him, a smile on your face. “Can’t wait,” you replied, kissing his lips sweetly. “I love you.”

“I love you too.”

And he did.

Namjoon:

You walked into the prison, dressed in a pair of skintight jeans, black knee length boots, black blouse, and your hair curled tightly. A confident smirk was on your lips as you walked up to the window with the front desk lady sitting behind the window.

“How can I help you?” The lady asked bored, not looking up from her phone.

Rolling your eyes, you pulled your gun out from the back of your pants, cocking it, catching the lady’s attention. “Where is Kim Namjoon?” You demanded. Trying to call for back up, you shot her straight in the heart, sighing. “Dumbass.”

“Noona! You gotta chill,” Jimin teased, “I know you miss your Da—”

Slapping him, “watch it, Jiminie, or you’ll be in trouble yourself.” You whispered into his ear, drawing a whimper from the boy.

“We got the guards covered, the door is unlocked, here’s the key to his cell.” Hoseok ran up to you, handing you the keys.

“Thanks, Hoseokie.” You smiled, turning to look behind you, “Kookie, cover my ass!” You yelled, running to Namjoon, Jungkook right behind you.

“Kitten? Is that you?” You heard Namjoon call out, making your heart race. Stopping in front of his cell, you could not help but to tear up. Not seeing him for a week, you were emotional and missed your fiancé. “Don’t cry baby, I’m here now.” Unlocking his cell, you jumped into his arms, clinging onto him. “God, I’ve missed you.” Namjoon sighed, nuzzling your head, kissing the top of it. “Let’s go home.”

Jimin:

Jimin cringed at the food in front of him, even if you can call it that. “I’d rather starve than eat this shit,” he muttered to himself, pushing the tray away from him.

The sound of the lunchroom’s doors being slammed opened and two gunshots ringing throughout the room caught everyone’s attention. Commotion rose when two guards were shot, silencing the whole room. Heels clicked against the ground, a familiar sound to Jimin.

“Where is Park Jimin?” Your voice demanded, a beautiful sound to Jimin. Seokjin’s hand pointing towards the short man had you smiling brightly, relief flooding through your body at the sight of your boyfriend.

“What the fuck is this?” A prisoner demanded, standing up from his table.

Your smile turned into a scowl, eyes glaring at the male. “What does it matter to you, asshole?”

“You’re just breaking out your boyfriend, who in fact, is a murder and drug lord instead of the innocent ones? This is bullshit.” He yelled, stalking towards, only to be stopped by Taehyung and Jungkook.

Raising your gun, you shot the man in the head, annoyed by him. This caught everyone else’s attention. “Now, if anyone has a problem with this, then feel free to stand up and make your point. If not, then good for you for wanting to stay alive.”

Feeling an arm around your waist and the person leading you out of the lunchroom, you left the prison. “You being dominant and badass is a real turn on,” Jimin said, bringing a chuckle out of you.

“I was actually nervous as fuck.”

Taehyung:

Taehyung felt disgusting.

Normally, he is dressed in name brand designer clothes, such as Gucci. Right now, he is dressed in cheap jumpsuits, something that he can tell is irritating his skin. Picking at the clothes in the washrooms, he shivered in disgust at the stain that was on it. “Unsanitary,” he mumbled, shaking his head in disappointment.

Touching his face, he looked at himself in the cracked mirror, frowning once again at how dry his skin is. The sound of someone tapping on the window caught his attention. Looking up at the window that was displayed above the lockers, Taehyung saw your face pop out from the corner. He saw your eyes crinkle, a tell-tale sign of you smiling.

“Oh God, please tell me that she’s wearing a harness.” He prayed, wanting you to be secured in the harness you are obviously wearing to hang on the side of the building.

He saw you motion back, to which he did. Next thing he knew was the glass breaking, making him cringe at the sound, knowing that it caught the attention of guards. But what was surprising none came.

“Namjoon gassed the hallways, and Jimin cut off the cameras.” You answered his thoughts. “But, I am here to save you, Romeo!” You joked, throwing rope through the window for him to use to climb through the window.

“I’m coming, Juliet!” Taehyung laughed, shaking his head. Once the two of you climbed to the top of the building, he pulled you in for a hug.

“Oh!” You said excitedly, you grabbed the backpack from Yoongi, “Here’s some clothes to change in to.”

“You know me so well,” he chuckled, pressing a kiss to your forehead.

Jungkook:

As the guard was shoving Jungkook down the hallway to his cell, Jungkook could not help but to laugh.

“what the fuck are you laughing at, Jeon?” The guard demanded, shoving the mafia lead even harder from behind.

“Oh, just knowing that you are going to be dying soon.” Jungkook answered, smirking at the fact that the guard did not shove him again.

“Is that a threat, punk?” The guard demanded, but the underlying fear was evident in his voice, satisfying Jungkook.

“No, it is a promise.”

And true to his word, the sound of explosions coming from Block A caught their attention, only the reactions different. Jungkook was holding a proud smirk, knowing that you were behind this and the guard held the look of terror. Trying to reach someone over the walkie talkie, he did not realize that Jungkook was getting away.

“Fuck! Jeon get back here, now!”

As Jungkook was running down the hallway, he was hit with a bullet in the back of his shoulder, knocking him down to the ground. Jungkook let out a ‘fuck!’ from the pain he felt. The side door opened, revealing you standing with your hair in a messy bun and dust covering your face.

“Fuck no,” you growled from seeing your boyfriend on the ground, a bullet wound evident. Seeing the guard running towards you guys, you quickly took your gun out of your holster, pointing accurately at the guard before shooting him in the chest once and then the head for good measure.

“Why am I the one always getting shot,” your boyfriend groaned in irriation, “this is the second time this month.” He complained.

“Well, if you weren’t such a dumbass, then we wouldn’t be in this position.” You countered back.

“Stop being right,” Jungkook grumbled.

“I love you too, babe.”

Peter Parker and The Dry Erase Board Artist

A/N: And here it is! Almost a whole month after I said I would have it done! I am so so so sorry for how long this took and also sorry for how shitty it also is. I hope you enjoy this trash fire that I just spent almost 4 hours on and finished at 1 am. Oh, I also made this gender neutral using they/them pronouns.

Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader

Summary: There’s a new mystery in Midtown, and it’s the creator of the dry erase board drawings. Peter is desperate to find out who it is even if it means losing sleep and missing assignments. What will it take to find out who this secret artist is?

Peter knew all about mysteries. He used to stay up too late reading those mystery novels by flashlight when he should have been sleeping. He grew up loving them. The amount of times May would walk into the living room to see him once again binge watching Scooby Doo was uncountable. Even now, he prided himself on being one of the biggest mysteries in New York: Spider-Man. He had to hold back a grin whenever he heard people discuss who the masked hero could possibly be. The craziest one so far was that Spider-Man was actually an alien being used by the government. He wasn’t sure who came up with that one, but props to them for their creativity.

He just absolutely loved mysteries of all shapes and sizes, and now, he had a new one to solve: the drawings. He called it Operation Dry Erase Board, and yes, the name did need improvement. Both MJ and Ned made sure to tell him that every single time he brought it up. Ned had suggested The Search for the Hidden Artist, which MJ just said sounded even worse. 

It had started a couple weeks ago. He had walked into his first period calculus class to see everyone whispering and taking pictures of the board. His first reaction was panic － his teacher was prone to surprise pop quizzes － but it soon turned to awe as he stared at the array of color across the board. It was a beautifully detailed portrait of the sea. He gazed upon the scene of manta rays and fish and even the silhouette of a shark. There was coral and shells of every color, and the lines and swirls of blue captivated him.There was no signature. Nobody knew who had done it. 

At first, Peter just tried to brush it off. There was somebody in the school who was skilled with dry erase board markers and was very artistically gifted. Not the biggest deal, but good for them. It became a bigger deal when the next day a gorgeous rendition of Starry Night was covering the board of the biology classroom. Once again, no signature. That’s when Peter started to become invested. 

He questioned MJ first. She was one of the only artists he knew, but she just scoffed. “I’m good, but dry erase markers are shit for me to work with.” 

He started paying more attention in art class, looking for anyone with a similar style. Nothing. Everyone was your typical high school artist who was just there for the credits, meaning people like him. Don’t ask about how designing the first spidey suit went.

 The drawings just kept coming. He soon saw space, dinosaurs, a jungle, The Mona Lisa, even each of the Avengers all spread across the dry erase boards. Each one of these was so beautiful and so alluring that it made his eyes sting and shouts of protest to erupt from the students when the teachers had to erase them. Even if they didn’t erase them, they were gone the next day. Whether it was the Hidden Artist or the janitor, Peter didn’t know. It was just another part in the mystery.

A lot of the drawings weren’t done in any classrooms that Peter had, meaning he would have to take field trips during his lunch period to go and find them. Most of the time he already knew where he was going. There was now a whole Instagram page dedicated to the art. It was run by Daphne, who was in both Yearbook and the Art Club. He had asked her if it was her, but she had just giggled and said she was a fan. Honestly, Peter was too. 

He would stare at the art for as long as he could each time he saw it, and he stared at the pictures he took of them even longer. He was consumed by the art, by his love for it. He needed to find out who the artist was, but unfortunately for him it would have to wait. He was so preoccupied with being Spider-Man and now also being a shitty detective that he was falling behind on both his work and his sleep. He had now fallen asleep a total of five times over the course of a week and a half, and he was close to failing both AP Government and Spanish, simply because he wasn’t catching up on his workload. 

Now, he was passed out in AP Lang, the one class that everyone knew not to fall asleep in. He couldn’t help it. He was running on a total of 4 hours for the week, and it was a Thursday. Not even his spidey sense could have prepared him for the crash of a ruler against a metal trash can right next to his ear. After nearly falling out of his chair and almost decking his teacher, Peter was given two weeks’ worth of detentions. 

“Hopefully that’ll teach young Mr. Parker here to pay attention instead of dozing off in the middle of class. Maybe he’ll catch up on his missing assignments, too. Speaking of, would you like to tell the class which rhetorical devices you’ll be utilizing in your essay, Mr. Parker?” All Peter could do is stare back at his teacher, horror written over his face.

It was 3:30 on a Wednesday, and Peter was losing his mind. Each of his detentions were an hour and a half long, lasting from 3:15 to 4:45. He had managed to catch himself up on his work and raise his grades a bit, but that didn’t change his predicament. He couldn’t go home or skip detention, meaning he was stuck at school for another hour and fifteen minutes. When he asked if he could do something, he was told he could go help the janitor. With a sigh, he got up and went in search of the janitor’s closet. 

During the time spanning over his punishment, he had nearly forgotten about his obsession with the Hidden Artist. Of course he still saw and heard about the drawings and he would still stare when he saw them, but now with the need to focus on his assignments being drilled into his brain every day on top of trying to stop bad guys each night, he was forced to move on. He didn’t want to. God, if he had the chance he’d stare at those drawings for hours on end, but he didn’t have that chance. It fucking sucked. 

After a couple minutes of searching, he finally found the closet. He grabbed a broom and looked around, and to his left, there was a classroom with the door slightly open. With a heavy sigh, he walked towards the room and pushed the door open, only to stop dead. There, across the room, was a brand new drawing, and it was a drawing of him. Not him him, of course, but a drawing of Spider-Man. It was a drawing of an event he recognized from yesterday when he had walked a lost kid back to their parents. The drawing showed him crouched down in front of the kid who was crying, and he had his hand out as an offer for the child to take it. 

Upon closer inspection, the drawing seemed incomplete. There were too many white spaces which wasn’t the artist's style. As he stepped closer to it, he heard the door creak and a gasp behind him. He spun around, nearly falling over in the process, and looked up wildly. His eyebrows furrowed when he saw Y/n L/n, a student in his grade. They stared back at him with wide eyes. 

“Did...did you do this?” Peter asked slowly. Y/n hesitantly nodded. 

“If you tell anyone about this, Parker, you’re dead.” 

He was slightly taken aback by this. Not the death threat, necessarily, he got those all the time, but it was a bit of a surprise coming from Y/n.

“I won’t. I promise,” he said softly. 

Y/n nodded slightly before striding towards the board and taking out a marker, beginning to fill in all of the white spaces Peter had noticed earlier. 

After a moment, Peter asked, “How do you do it?”

Y/n turned towards him, black marker clutched in their hand. “What?”

“The drawings. They’re so beautiful...I didn’t even know you could draw like that.”

“Everyone has their secrets, Parker. I’m sure you have yours.” 

Peter almost laughed at that, because yeah, he did, and Y/n was drawing it across the Physics dry erase board. But he didn’t laugh. He just smiled a little and kept watching, forgetting all about the broom that was now leaning against a desk.

“So...Spider-Man huh?” 

Y/n sighed and turned to him. “Why are you still here? Shouldn’t you be sweeping or something?” 

Peter shrugged. “Or something. Look, this is probably gonna sound super weird, but I’ve been trying to figure out who you were for weeks. Your art is super amazing and cool and I just wanted to know so badly who was talented enough to pull it off. And now I know.”

“Are you disappointed?” It wasn’t a question out of fear, but more out of curiosity. Y/n sat themselves on a desk and waited for the answer. 

“I don’t think so,” Peter said. “This was just unexpected, I guess. I didn’t even consider you for a suspect.” Y/n chuckled at this. 

“Nobody suspects me. That’s the fun part of all of this, actually. Did you know people actually thought that it was Ms. Rosemary for a while?”

“The crazy teacher’s aid?”

“Yup. The theory, I think, was that she was so crazy that art became like her therapy or escape or whatever. I mean, it can be like therapy, but I think Rosemary needs a little more than some doodles in order to help her.”

“These aren’t just ‘some doodles,’ Y/n. They’re-”

“Beautiful. Yeah, you’ve said.” They shrugged. “It’s just scribbles on a board, Parker. Scribbles that, for whatever reason, make our brains happy.”

Peter didn’t really have a response to that, so instead he just watched as Y/n went back to work.

That was how he would spend his detentions. He would offer to go help the janitor, and then he would run around the school trying to find Y/n. Eventually, on the days where the drawings took less time to create, Y/n started to try to teach him how to draw. Basic things at first, like flowers or trying to break things down into their simpler shapes. He could barely do either of those things, but he enjoyed trying anyways. On other days, Peter would just sit and watch in silence as they drew. It was mesmerizing, and only he got to witness it. 

It became their thing. Even after detentions ended, Peter would stay after school for an hour or so just to go hang out with Y/n. They would have snacks and play music and have a good time. Peter learned that Y/n stayed after school since their parents were never home until the late evenings, so they stayed back just for the hell of it. He also learned that they were good friends with the janitor and that his name was Roger. He was the reason that they were even able to stay for as long as they did. It was pretty cool. 

It was a Friday, and Peter was spinning around in the teacher’s chair while Y/n drew a forest scene. Peter watched them for a while, a small smile on his face. They were also so concentrated when they worked, their eyes narrowing and jaw tightening as they drew the different lines and curves that made up the masterpiece. Unbeknownst to Y/n, Peter had a surprise for them. 

“Hey, N/n?” Peter asked. All he got was a hum in response. He rolled his eyes. “Come here.”

Y/n narrowed their eyes at him before slowly tearing the paper away. They smiled softly as they stared at the multipack of dry erase markers, enough colors to make practically any drawing that happened to cross their mind. 

“Why?”

“A simple thank you would have sufficed. It’s an appreciation gift for all of your art. I figured by now you’ve probably killed most of the markers in the school, so I got you some new ones.”

Y/n chuckled a little and looked at him. “Thank you.”

“Of course. You deserve it.”

“I literally just make colored lines one a board.”

“And I appreciate those colored lines! They give me serotonin as do you.”

“I give you serotonin?”

“Yes.”

Y/n blinked in surprise. “Alright then...you also give me serotonin.”

How quickly did/will they fall in love? - it was love at first sight but then they started talking i do think it was some form of ~interest~ in one another at first sight, but then all that drama and lack of communication happened so they didn’t really allow themselves to even dream about the possibility of a relationship. HOWEVER! once lion joined rainbow and they talked their shit out like people who know how to cope, there was a period of a few months that is now referred to as The Four Months of Pining™, during which glaz did a lot of paintings where the subject (who usually bears an uncanny resemblance to doc or lion) is staring at something (or someone) longingly. he calls it his french period. when they finally get together, a LOT of money changes hands. and goes straight into sledge’s pocket (he was the only one who bet that it would take them this long). diana gets a brand new collar (handmade), bed (handmade), dish (handmade), and many new toys (some handmade, some store-bought. sledge’s craftsmanship can only get him so far) 

How was their first kiss? - you know how the french are supposed to be super suave and confident??? and how gay people are trying their hardest but they’re just Not Good at things????? (i know these are stereotypes but stay with me). well, with their 5/8 french blood (i hc one of doc’s parents is fully algerian while the other is half french, half algerian), and their 4/4 gay blood, they have an 81.25% chance of success in matters of the heart. sadly, that 18.75% chance of failure came into play during this situation. picture it. doc and lion. romantic, home-cooked dinner. le festin is playing in the background. they’re holding hands over the table. suddenly, doc’s cat goes into labour. all hell breaks loose. lion is getting flashbacks to his son’s birth, so now he’s hyperventilating. doc carries him to the couch and turns on the fan so he can cool off and catch his breath, before carefully moving his cat, Rayie (arabic for gorgeous, pronounced rye-ah) to the living room in his handmade Birthing Box, then grabs a pile of blankets and a heat lamp and situates himself on the ground nearby so he can help her if she needs it. once the kittens are born (they’re twins!! Sadiqi is the boy, and Amirti is the girl!!!) doc makes sure they’re nice and warm and that Rayie is recovering, and gives her pets while she cleans her babies. once the happy family is all settled in for the night, doc walks over to the couch and just. lays down on top of lion. once he’s gotten over the adrenaline of the birth, he takes lion’s face in his hands and says “promise me you’ll be more calm if we ever decide to have kids” and gives him a BIG smooch while lion’s just short-circuiting like “does he know i have a son???? did i forget to mention my son?????? also what about these kittens??? are they not sufficiently childish to count as children????? DOES HE WANT KIDS????? does he want to marry me??????? wait why is he getting so clo-”

Wedding:

Who proposed? - lion. it was the day of their two year anniversary (yes i AM saying they got together the august after outbreak don’t @ me) and they were on vacation at doc’s family’s Secret Beach House. they were vibing on the balcony, watching the sunset, when lion suddenly clears his throat. doc turns to look at him and finds his boyfriend down on one knee, looking like he might flee to Bermuda. he’s reaching for something in his pocket. doc starts laughing. lion, completely misunderstanding his reaction, flushes and stammers out an apology. doc sees this, and immediately stops, though he’s still smiling gleefully as he catches lion by the biceps, then reaches into his own pocket and pulls the ring he was going to give olivier. they exchange rings, giggling like little kids, and spend the rest of the night making out on whatever surfaces are available.

I honestly don’t even know the proper etiquette of tipping because I almost never ever have been in a sit-down restaurant where I’ve paid because of the whole “I don’t have an income” thing. If for whatever reason I did, I would have asked the person with me how. I do (maybe…) believe however that there should be a baseline for how much you tip, even if your experience is somewhat unpleasant. You don’t know what that person is going through that day. anyways DALLAS STARS intro ish the 17/18 season

! as all teams,and esp because stars had a p shitty season, stars are shuffling rosters and coaching a bit!so i can’t know for sure if everyone’s gonna be here when the season starts but still!we hired ken hitchcock who’s replacing lindy ruff as head coach for the 17-18 season! hitchcock actually coached the stars to their cup 1999! so he’s a familiar face to the franchise!

and ofc u know that we signed ben bishop (and i bet you know more about him than me! so i’ll just say that i’m really excited)! we’ve been struggling a bit with our goaltending (kari lehtonen, our 16/17 starter, gets more shit than he deserves tbqh,but he might not be the starter we need. he’s a gr8 guy and a good goalie and he saved us a bunch of times last season!)

we also recently traded for marc methot! who we need to fill out our messy defense, hopefully he will bring us some veteran experience and solid defense! and vet experience we need ! because stars are a pretty young team! or at least our d is!(i’ll get back to that)

john klingberg #3 Di could go on forever abt him lbr, he’s a good offensive dman , heavily criticized last season when stars for some reason expected him (24) to play on the top d pairing with esa (21) w/o any struggles. he’s dumb af and i h8 him ! no but lbr if he gets some stuff together he’ll be one of the better offensive dmen in the league,he’s a big part of the Stars Future™ which takes us to the rest of our Dhe once said that he’d rather be bad at hockey than a virgin,which is rly embarrassing.he won gold w tre kronor at worlds! and got two teeth knocked out…which he has since replaced than godhere’s a vid abt his journey and 1st season!here he is …narrating the casino night,, and accidentally asking why tyler carries around two dicks…unfortunate

kari lehtonen #32sat on top of the goal once,the world won’t let him forget it. part of the now dead finn goalie tandem. he’s been with the stars for a good while! i love him and i think he’s getting too much shit, but i do agree that he might not be a starter

ALSO a big mf shoutout to VAL NICHUSHKIN , you’re gonna hear shit about him because he’s playing in the KHL right now to develop his game and ppl are bitter about us protecting him! but he has the potential to be really good! and he’s really young too, he had some contract agreements that says either the NHL or the KHL, no AHL, so stars let him sign with KHL for two seasons, he still has one season left on that contract but we kinda want him back, and we MIGHT get him! he’s rly sweet and ! iconic !

I'm so glad Kirishima is getting so much spotlight, he really deserves it!!!! And it looks like hes gonna get more, since hes in the main group along with Deku, Uraraka and Tsuyu. I;m so hyped!!!

Honestly!!!!!!!!!!! That’s one interesting group tbh, Kirishima and Tsuyu’s interactions are always incredibly adorable to watch and seeing Kirishima interact for so long with pure and good people is gonna be hard on my heart (I mean, you know I’m 100% a bakusquad fan but they’re all at least in part assholes and Kiri fits with them just right, he can be just like Sero and Kaminari and I love it, but then his interactions with Amajiki have been so pure can you imagine an arc filled with that I’m already crying)

For however much Kaminari swore he could deal with it and how much he’s actually managing to deal with it he’s also the same brand of open book Baku and Kiri are and while it was easy to act like friends with no romantic feelings when everyone was doing the same, trying to hide from Bakugou and Kirishima while they’re openly in a relationship turns out to be more or less impossible, mostly because he can’t seem to avoid the longing stares and sad smiles and the I have to go I just remembered I have a thing to do bye’s when it becomes too much, and Kirishima might not be the brightest but he’s perfectly in tune with everyone’s feelings and Bakugou might stomp on people’s feelings more often than not but he is the brightest which means they notice and they’re like god fucking damn it - Bakugou in nature isn’t one to talk about problems until they burst out in fits of anger, but thank god he’s got Kirishima right there and they might not be 100% sure they got the reason for Kaminari’s weirdness right but they’re exasperated and they at least want their friend to stop being weird and avoiding them, they miss him (and Kaminari seriously misses them too he feels so stupid for how big of a deal he’s turning this into) SO they corner him and talk it out cause I’m a slut for open and honest communication and Kaminari straight out starts crying from happiness and relief before they’re even done talking and Kirishima starts crying right after him because sympathetic crier supreme and Bakugou’s like you know what I changed my mind fuck both of you emotional disasters I’m out

im glad I met u (Part1/5)

You graduated high school a bit ago and things have been working out smoothly for you. Your parents decided to let you go Korea University for the summer program. You were ecstatic and started organizing your plans. You would be staying with another transfer student who you happen to know from online, so you won’t have to worry about that. Your parents provided you with money, but you decided that you would do some english tutoring on the side. 

Now you really liked kpop, like who doesn’t? You were sooo hype that you’ll be able to attend shows and fansigns. Sam Kim was a special one though. It would be an understatement to simply call him your fave. But it’s not like your were obsessed with him in an unhealthy way. You just really appreciated his music and all the intricate skills. And yes, okay, it didn’t hurt that he was extremely good looking. Summer time was the best time for outdoor events, especially for acoustics, so you’ll have plenty of times to see him. You would leave for South Korea in the morning. That night you had blissful dreams about adventures to come. 

After 2 weeks, you got used to your schedule and how things worked.  It was time for you to to attend a performance. Sam was doing a set for some sort of anniversary for a brand. When you arrived the seating area was pack so you decided to sit under a tree in the back. You had a wide scope view of everything, it wasn’t too bad, plus you got some shade. It was a local area so people were walking by going about their daily lives. 

Few minutes later you heard fangirl screams, you stood up in excitement while cheering as Sam walked on stage. You couldn’t help but smile. He looked so adorable! He smiled sheepishly to the fans reaction. He introduced himself with the usual, “Hello, I’m 20 years old Sam Kim, from Seattle. Nice to meet you.” And of course somewhere in there he apologizes for his “bad” korean. Yours isn’t too well either but you can understand most of it. 

He starts off with ‘No Sense’. Everyone is singing along and doing the fanchants. People stop to watch and listen. It’s a nice experience for you. You embrace the music, the people, the environment, and Sam. He continues to play other songs, you watch as he plays his guitar so passionately. As he sings it’s strong, yet gentle. And even if he slips up once in awhile, he smiles and keeps on at it. A true musician, performing with all his heart. 

For his last song he plays “Think About ‘Chu”. It’s one of your favorites, you’re listening and jamming. During that last verse..

“And every single time that would happened, we would listen to this song 

look into each other’s eyes and smile 

the memory makes me feel our love again”

 ..you could swear he was looking in your direction. But you couldn’t tell exactly. When he finished he said his goodbyes; him and his band walked off stage. 

As you were walking, you thought to yourself, ‘Did he really look at me? There’s no way!’. When you arrived at your apartment you told your roommate everything. The both of you squealed together and thought about different scenarios. What would you even say to him if, when, you met him in person? Would you keep your cool or freak out? You thought about his gorgeous smile and fluffy hair, his voice and his guitar playing. You realized your cheeks were killing you, You’ve never smile this much before! Lucky for you, you were going to head down to Busan that weekend for an Antenna Angels concert. 

You take the KTX to Busan. “Train to Busan” you think. You laugh out loud a bit for that stupid little pun. You put your earbuds in and listen to the latest kpop songs on your ride there. The weather is lovely, not too hot and not too cold. You felt such elation and simply couldn’t wait. You loved all of the members of Antenna Angels. They have such diverse skills and when they come together it’s like magic. Once you arrived at the concert only a couple people were there. You picked a decent spot in the front section. You recognized some of the fansite masters there and greeted them. Everyone was really nice and the vibe was chill. 

After a hour and a half seats began to fill up and the crowd was buzzing. The MC asked if we were ready and called them out. They came on stage and waved and smiled at the cheers. You made eye contact with Sam for just a second. ‘Probably a fluke,’ you thought. But you were excited to be there and couldn’t wait to see them perform. They did some songs together, some duos, some english covers, some solos, and a little dance here and there. Everyone was filled with glee. Different types of people in the audience you noticed. Guy, girl; young, old; Korean, foreign. Music brought everyone together. The energy just rushed through your body. 

Sam started playing “Touch My Body”, one of your favorites for sure. The lyrics made the girls swoon. His voice was just perfect. Then his rap verse comes, which you absolutely love.

you were filming this through your phone, but then you realize something. You look passed your phone … he was staring directly at you. You looked to the back of you, but no, he was staring right at you. He smiled at your natural antic. There was a tingle in your stomach and all you could do was stare back at him wide eyed. He sang the next verse with such heartfelt. You have already died inside 50 times over. When they were saying their goodbyes, Sam gave you a wave, you managed to wave back. “Is this even real,” you thought. 

On your ride back to Seoul, you were overwhelmed with mixed emotions. You felt like crying because ultimately you were so happy. You told your roommate, messaged all your kpop friends, and yeah you did tear up a bit. You went to sleep the most happiest person in the world that night. Later that week, of course not forgetting a moment of your experience, you decided to walk the city and have a relaxed day. Life was good and you couldn’t complain. 

That evening you decided to visit this corner cafe spot. Not to many people about not since it was getting late. You walk in and the smell of coffee and the light music comforted you. You ordered a latte and a pastry and turned to go sit down… but then you saw him. You swear you were about to have a heart attack. Sam Kim was sitting right there, by the window, at the cafe you were at. You didn’t know what to do. It’s not like you could just walk up and say hi. You calmed down a bit and observed him. He was writing in a notebook slowly and you could tell he was thinking carefully. His brows were furrowed slightly and he spinned his pen. Most likely a new song he was working on. He was wearing a hoodie and his fair was down. He looked perfect. 

You sighed and decided to let your nerves get the best of you. You got your order and was about to go to the other side of the cafe, when all of a sudden you hear, “Hey, wait!” You turn and see Sam looking at you he waves and says, “Come sit here!” You come out of your shock and go over. You say, “It’s nice to meet you.” as you sit down. “I saw you at the event the other week, i was happy to see you at the concert,” he said smiling. Your heart was melting. You smiled back and said, “Of course! I really like your music and the other Angels.” You both chuckled. “Antenna Angels, i can’t get over how cliche i sounds,” he said. “But it’s cute!” you replied. The both of you laughed. 

The two of you talked about you coming to Korea and where you’re from, things like. He was happy to hear you both shared a lot in common. “It’s kinda weird you know,” you suddenly said. “What is?”, he asked with a very slight concerned look. “The fact that i know more about you without having to ask” you said. At this he smiled and replied, “Yeah well, i’m glad i can find out more about you though,” and at this you blushed. The both of you have similar tastes in music, humor, even food! The compatibility was there no doubt about it. He listened with care when you told him some fun things about your past and such. His eyes are focused on you only and his eye-smiles made him look even cuter. 

About two hours later of talking, you both realized it was night. Sam suggests the two of you exchange KakaoTalk ids and you happily comply. The two of you walked outside. “Hey, maybe we should meet up soon? Likes there’s a lot of places out here i haven’t been yet.. And i think it would be nice to go with you,” he asks while scratching his head. You scream a little inside. You smile and say, “That would be great! Just hit me up when you’re free.” “Awesome!” he says smiling wide. The two of you bid your goodbyes and you walk in your direction. You think about it for a sec, but you look back. He’s staring at you with those same loving eyes from the concert. You wave and he waves back, walking his way. As you hit the corner, you stop and lean against the wall comprehending everything that just happen. 

“This is real,” you whisper to yourself.
