percy canonically was seen as a loser in the earlier books. she was constantly shuffled around boarding schools, which are EXPENSIVE btw, and in my fic the explanation for that is that these schools willingly took percy in with free tuition/lowered tuition because of how HORRIBLE her record is, and they wanted to take her in in hopes they could "improve" her and make their school look better cuz "hey we took this criminal poor child in and we made her a stellar student! we're so much better than the other schools, so give us donations and send ur kids to us because we actually work!" and that obviously just... never happened lol 💀

BUT ANYWAY, those schools are expensive and usually filled with wealthy kids from wealthy families, and they can CLEARLY tell percy isn't one of them. maybe because she's always wearing the same shoes, or she can't afford to get another uniform so she's always got the same crummy one with rips or stains they couldn't get out or "hey i saw percy and her mom walking to the laundromat, they're so poor they don't even have their own washing and drying machine haha!", or "guys i saw percy working at the macy's parade! hahaha, she's so poor she's gotta work during summer break!", etc.

like EVERYONE always knew her as that kid with no money and no dad who's always committing crimes ("hey isn't that jackson girl a terrorist?!"), she's a loser with barely any friends, and the friends she DOES make are losers too (grover and tyson were always looked down on, and in my fic she attends the di angelo's school, and they were looked down on too).

so imagine seeing that kid grow up into her teens and then get hit with the biggest glow up you've ever seen (cuz her face claim's adriana lima) 😂😂😂😂 i think her life started getting better around the time she she started attending goode high (a regular high school, not for elites like her previous school, so no one there knows her aside from her "crimes" on tv). and it's not just the glow up too, she's also a little more outgoing and confident in herself, more comfortable in her skin, etc. she's got a glow up inside AND outside. like imagine strolling around ur school and a girl who looks like a victoria's secret super model just walks by and she NOTICES you and just waves and says "oh hi! 👋😄"

percy has always been seen as a poor loser, but then high school happened and BAM she's now suddenly the most popular girl in school 🥺 she probably has a lot of mortal friends too. so not only is she popular in the demigod/godly world, but also popular in the mortal world (her high school, i mean lol). she's on the swim team, she's the ✨it girl✨ she probably got a ton of juniors or seniors trying to ask her out to prom/homecoming and shit despite being a freshman/sophomore 😂 and because she's got so many friends from school, she most DEFINITELY spent a lot of her free time hanging out with them, like just shopping in new york, going to skate parks, walking around the city, etc. (and with her demigod friends too ofc if they're in new york at the time). her insta, tiktok, and twitter's probably FULL of pics/vids of her just hanging out and being social 😂 she's the girl that's everywhere but home, always out and doing shit 😭

And in the same episode in which he says he’d tell his dad “fuck you,” he says to Georgie that he doesn’t give a shit about James anymore. I just feel like Jamie is more scared of his dad than angry, but I would truly like to hear your opinion. Thank you!

hmmm...I guess I think it's complicated? Like yeah Jamie definitely has real anger towards his dad. When he says he'd want to say 'fuck you' to his dad I believe he was being 100% genuine. I wholeheartedly think Jamie would very much like to say 'fuck you' to that man. Yet if James Sr. suddenly appeared on the pitch at that moment, I'm not Jamie would have said it to him. Wanting to say it and being able to say it are two different things. In general, I read Jamie's anger as sort of an aftermath and response to his fear/vulnerability, if that makes sense? His tendency is to freeze/shrink in on himself/make himself small/not fight back when he's actually facing his father. And Jamie knows his father and knows the signs to look for to try and read his dad's moods, and he's gotten pretty damn good at assessing his dad as soon as he enters any room to determine whether he's walking into an interaction that's going to harm him. He watches for signs that his dad's already upset, whether he's at that particular state of drunkenness that most often seems to end in violence, whether the old man is out looking for a fight. Still, he's terrified at the same time he's looking that he's missing something, that he's going to miss one of those tip offs and be caught off guard and left vulnerable or hurt or humiliated (because his dad has historically been unpredictable). And his own knowledge of himself, that he isn't going to fight back, because he never has, sits with him too. As such, he's always got his guard up when he's around his dad and there's always an air of sort of anticipatory fear along with his annoyance/irritation/exhaustion/snappishness, etc.

And then in the after, when he's had time to sit with the fear he felt, and the small way his dad always always makes him feel, *that's* when I think he gets angry. In part it's anger and (temporary) hatred directed solely at his father, because he's let Jamie down again, and he's a complete arsehole ("my dad's a dick. not much you can do with that, is there?"), and Jamie knows he's not a good dad, but then slowly that anger, more times than not, warps around in his brain and eventually gets turned inwards towards himself. More than Jamie hates his dad, Jamie hates the way he himself acts around his dad. The way we see Jamie at Wembley is so antithetical to everything Jamie normally is. So I think Jamie's always fighting an internal battle between being pissed at his dad for hitting him and being pissed that he "let himself" get hit. He doesn't even *need* his dad, right? He's Jamie fucking Tartt! He was always going to be great long before he ever met that piece of shit, and he can be fucking great now without him. Right? He doesn't even care. In fact, he wants to tell his dad fuck you! So...then why can't he tell his dad fuck you? Whenever he goes to try, the words shrivel up and die, and he's back to being that same scared kid wanting his dad's approval. Jamie hates being that kid. He can't stop being that kid. That's what has him running off to a reality tv set. That's what has him running around Amsterdam trying to bury the past. He wants to outrun the person his dad makes him. He wants to outrun himself and he never can.

So I guess I say...all of the above? Jamie's motivation and drive and work ethic ultimately comes from who JAMIE is. Sure, he's a product of both his dad's violence and anger and his mum's love and care, but Jamie is very much his own person who is motivated to become a great footballer because he wants that for himself, not for anyone else. At the same time, yes he's angry at his dad, yes he's afraid of his dad, and yes, ultimately, he loves his dad and wants to be loved by him in return. All those emotions get mixed up in his head sometimes, and all of them are a part of who he is and all of them are valid emotions.

i absolutely agree with your opinion about soobin, this is one of the things that I thought about but couldn’t articulate it. in my opinion he is quite mature and he is the leader of the group which makes him mature even more, but it seems like that is enough for him? like, on the one hand, it’s not that he’s not mature for a relationship, but rather he’s just not ready to take responsibility yet. + he said that he is not the kind of person who would lead a relationship or plan something and therefore would just agree with everything that his girlfriend wants, but this is also literally an abdication of responsibility to some extent. so, in my opinion, he either doesn’t want to take on extra responsibility because he’s tired of responsibility at work, or he’s not ready for it due to his young age, or he’s just that kind of person (but actually i think it affects everything together and may change with age, like i don’t think that he will be a person who will become a super leader in a relationship, but at least he will be okay with the responsibility that comes with the appearance of a relationship)

yeonjun yes and beomgyu absolutely yes. if he has a fight with his partner and the partner says something offensive to him, they won’t get away with just an apology, and for some reason i think that if it really hurt him, he would remember it every time in all next fights. and also sometimes he likes to do something like checks? like that time when he blocked taehyun to see if he would come to wish him a happy birthday

speaking of kai, i understood what you mean and this is really true, but it is in him that it manifests itself as not being so burdensome for other people? like i mean my work in korea was partly related to this area and i could see and sometimes communicate with different musicians/actors/dancers and other media personas and one of the most surprising things is when you look at them you think “wow this person is so cool, they are beautiful, they are smart, they are interesting personas, they have good singing/dancing/whatever skills” but when communicating with these people, most of them have very low self-esteem but they don’t seem to focus on it. i don’t know how to explain this more correctly, but it’s like the difference between people who due to low self-esteem really pull people around them to the bottom and people for whom it’s like something background that you might not even recognize right away. but idk whatever i hope kai can handle with this and it seems he has already changed for the better

Gender euphoria/dysphoria is so weird. I was been feeling funky (/neg?) all day yesterday and then someone referred to me as them and it's like :) teehee

I've never had an issue with my gender before and I both hate and love it

by that I mean I love discovering the pronouns that make me happy but I'm also not used to having the gender dysphoria (?)that comes with it

dysphoria feels like too strong of a word, im just not used to questioning my gender expression

I wanted to butt in.. about Tom and Timmy, as I've been following both, I remember in that interview few years back where Tom had to call someone on his contact list and asking whether they're sitting on standing (lol I know), he called Timmy who happened to be in London filming (I think it was during the King? idk my memory fails me often but wtv) and Tom was asking if maybe they can have a cuppa tea or something (which I know can be just formality but Timmy seems quite responsive of that iirc). They both also sounded pretty casual to me, and Timmy didn't sound like caught off guard by Tom calling him so I got the vibe that it's not the first time they talked/chatted, even as a colleague in the industry. So definitely I don't see them not liking each other or feel like the other is one they must compete with. Idk how people get that view anyway. At the very least, like you said, they're industry buddies, but there's nothing bad about it at all. I also remember another one, in this interview(?) or game stuff (I think it's during Uncharted promo) Tom had to guess whose name comes up in the board for the 'who's more handsome' question (again iirc) and he guessed Timmy (adding that he's double handsome lol) so they've definitely crossed more than just one paths and interacted enough. For them being so different in their acting choices and career path, it'd be interesting if in the future they can star alongside each other.. maybe unlikely but hey who knows~

I just wanna say that I absolutely LOVE Butterfly. It’s kinda the only fanfic I care about at the moment lmao I am LOCKED IN. The story itself is great, all of the characters (even the ones everyone hate rn) are interesting, the writing is phenomenal…I could go on and on.

I have a few thoughts I wanted to get out of my head. These aren’t suggestions (cuz it’s your story and I trust where you’re gonna take it), it’s moreso just kinda be me rambling lol:

Sasuke- I know you’ve mentioned he’s going to show up again later, but I’m so anxious to see the role he’s going to play. I don’t really want it to be a romantic thing with Hinata (I am a firm NaruHina lover lol) but I would love to see him be some kind of a protective friend for her? In my head he and Hinata already know each other; like they had some type of group therapy for traumatized teens or after she was removed from her dad’s care she was temporarily in a group home where she met Sasuke and they got to know each other idk. He knows her story and the pain she deals with, and is able to relate in a sense. So he doesn’t want to see her be taken advantage of. Idk, again this is NOT a suggestion lmao just rambling.

Strength- I would argue that Hinata’s the strongest character in the story so far. Even stronger than Naruto. She’s been thru absolute hell and suffers with severe anxiety and depression. The fact she struggles with suicidal ideations and is still making the choice to live is a testament to her strength. I hope that as the story progresses, Hinata starts to recognize that in herself.

Naruto- love the way you write Naruto in this; the chapters in his pov are some of favorites tbh. As someone mentioned before, I too would love to get a few jealous Naruto scenes. Especially since he’s starting to actually *see* Hinata and recognize his attraction to her. I’m assuming that as the story progresses, Hinata will grow into her own person and become somewhat independent of Naruto (like getting her own friends); is that something Naruto might feel threatened by? Since he does have a selfish streak and is immature, I wonder if he would have an issue with keeping Hinata all to himself.

I think those were the main ramblings I had. Chapter 8 is my absolute favorite so far cuz of the cute NaruHina moment we got. I know smut is probably a ways away but I cannot WAIT till we get to it cuz you are one of my favorite smut writers tbh. Anyways that’s all for now. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us!

Sasuke- Surprisingly a lot of readers have been waiting to see how Sasuke fits into all this🤭I've gotten some incredibly creative scenarios and prediction from commenters and anons that I've actually added to his role and even moved his entrance up in the timeline😄This is a very interesting scenario and I really, really like it a lot! So many people really want a protective friend Sasuke and I can't say the idea isn't unbearably adorable 💕

Strength- You hit the nail on the head for sure🫡💕Hinata's inner strength is one that's often overlooked, underestimated and underappreciated when compare to more overt forms of strength, or socially constructed ideals of what it means to be strong, and I've really, really been wanting to make a point in the world of fanfiction, specifically the Naruto fandom of fanfiction, that strength is not always aggression, violence and bitchy attitude 🤦🏽‍♀️ because I've seen, for years now, this narrow, short sighted standard of who is strong and who is weak being perpetrated and it's always, always bothered the crap out of me 😤With Butterfly, I'm hoping to open minds and break molds we've been taught to believe are absolute👎🏽but are actually highly subjective👈🏽 I swear, so many of my fics are 'break the mold' type fics, lol, I think I just like to nay say the nay sayers, ya know, shine light on areas and topics that many may make negative assertions and toxic assumptions about while in reality, know very little about the subject matter at all. I think it opens the door for more compassion, understanding and inclusion ️🫶🏽 and honestly, that's what I'm all about.

Naruto- I love, love, love me a Naruto POV 🙈idk what it is about Naruto in particular since I love most make POV but it is soooo much fun being in his head 🤭Butterfly!Naruto and Prey!Naruto are two of my fave Naruto POV's to write in, both are so much fun in different ways 😄For sure Naruto's gonna have his jealousy moments, he's too hot headed and selfish in Butterfly not to🤭Its definitely not out of the realm of possibility that he'll feel some type of way about not being the center of her attention🤔right now, he's the golden boy, he's got the coveted place at her side, he's got exclusive access nobody else has, losing that, well, he might not be too keen on it🤭although, he's been trying to introduce her to his friends and help her with her speech problems, so maybe he'll take it as a source of pride that he's help her find her confidence🤔that's why I love this Naruto 🤭he really can go either way. Like, on one hand, he can be sweeter than cotton candy, some real tooth rotting sweetness, but on the other hand he can be a selfish asshole making scummy choices just to get what he wants😅he gets tunnel vision, and the only thing that matters is reaching his goals by any means necessary. He's just a really fun character🤭

From what I've found, it looks like they were dating from the start? But they certainly haven't talked about it openly. But what's up with them now? Did they break up? 1. There has been pressure on kit ever since he claimed as being unlabelled when it comes to sexuality, it was something he said he wanted to keep for himself and general public was surprisingly cruel about it saying he just does not want to admit he is straight cause he does not want to kill the fantasy or whatever messed up things. Then yeah i would say the pictures/videos of him with a girl (still unsure if they were in a relationship, they never admitted to any kind of relationship so idk what to say about it) kinda led to an increase of such queerbating comments (in which real people cannot do) and i guess he was sick of it hence coming out regarding his sexuality suddenly on twitter.

2. Joe and Bash never claimed anything regarding their relationship but fans have always assumed they were dating cause they were always hanging out together and bash went to joe’s hometown in the Isle of Man and all that but yeah no specific admission about it so I wouldn’t know either hahahha and i guess people have realised their interactions have been dead for some time hence assuming that something happened (aka breaking up which again nothing was said so 🤷‍♀️) there has not been any proof of bash being mean to joe so i feel like a lot of it is just projection? Bash was involved in some harry potter project so the fanbase was saying he is transphobic since HP was created by JK Rowling. And there were some comments by himself regarding his character Ben that made people upset, i cannot remember well but it was along the lines of how he’s kinda misunderstood or something and fans feel like he’s not being serious enough regarding how his character actually sexually assaulted someone so yeah

3. I would say they are from what I have seen on social media and their interviews. Joe admitted kit was one of the few who knew about his role in marvel first. I feel like you would not trust somebody with that kind of information hahaahah and they hang out, outside of filming with will and tobie so i would say they are good friends! I should be sleeping but I’m thinking about Rebecca again…. blinks innocently 😇 So many old headcanons resurfacing today!

(This turned into a longer ramble than I anticipated so um. Tee hee)

Anyway I always wonder how big Swallows Ice Cream really was. I know they had a storefront, but I’ve always imagined it to have started as a mom-n-pop place and maybe expanded into a local chain that sells in stores, too. She DOES call it an “ice cream empire,” after all. I wonder how recently it became so successful o_o How old were Normal and Hero? Did they see their parents (+ Lark) struggle as kids, and did they see the business take off (maybe post-Vinny fiasco, when Normal’s parents were actually working in the shop, and which definitely convinced Normal that his mascoting was the reason for the business’ success lol)? They’re not ever mentioned to be rich like Taylor, so maybe not that successful…? Idk. Food for Normal childhood thoughts ANYWAY ANYWAY

Anyway. Back to the reason I made this post lmao. I wonder if Rebecca was the one to make the ice cream first. She probably was, since she FOUNDED the aforementioned ice cream empire. Maybe when Normal and Hero were growing up, Rebecca would spend all day making new flavors: weird stuff, like lavender and basil and thyme and Grape-Nut (at Henry’s request). I was Googling Ecuadorian desserts once for an (unfinished) fic and discovered espumillas—fruit merengue in an ice cream cone—and imagined her making that for the kids :) !!!!

And maybe, when they expanded to a small handful of storefronts in LA and selling in a couple of local grocery stores, the family made a routine of going around town to try the new ones. Rebecca and Sparrow had already tried and approved everything for quality control, of course, but Normal and Hero grew up on this stuff! And when their mom isn’t the one making it, it’s just not as good! >:( That’s not the REAL Swallows Vegan Ice Cream, yk? Even when they had enough money to hire new employees, Normal BEGGED his mom to keep making the ice cream at the original San Dimas shop herself.

…And now he’ll never eat her ice cream again :( She’ll never let him experiment with mixing his essential oils in the soft serve machine to make a new godawful flavor again. When Normal is missing Carlos, Rebecca will never be there to make guava espumillas and blackberry helado de paila again (and Sparrow knows the recipe, too, but it’s just not the same).

Hero has sworn off ice cream ever since she rejected her role as ‘chosen one’; it leaves a bad taste in her mouth (literally). But after Rebecca dies, Hero finally feels its cold absence. Maybe she gets her sweet tooth back :)

So! Anyway! How are we all doing tonight 😄

PS: My friend (hi if you’re reading this) and I tried vegan ice cream by accident the other day, and it was sooooo bad (to me). The coconut milk made everything taste like coconuts 😭 and it was so sweet. I hate coconuts AND sweet stuff. Bleh. But I believe Rebecca’s ice cream is better ☝️ I have to believe… lol okay byeeee

Hm, for my top five favorites, I’m gonna exclude the turtles cause I feel like it’s just a given that they’re at the top of my favorites list. The favorites list is organized as 1 being almost as good as the turtles, and 5 being they’re only there cause I love the others more.

Bebop and Rocksteady, any iteration, I’ll watch an entire episode of just these guys being a lovable duo of stupidity.

Casey Jones, any iteration, something about him, I just love him. He would be #1 but sometimes he’s just too cringe.

Lou Jitsu, what’s there not to love?

Rise and 2003 Splinter, they are how to write a Splinter.

The Trash Wizard, I know he’s a background character that shows up in like maybe 3 episodes of Rise, but he gives me such Cabbage Merchant vibes and I love him. Also this picture:

Alright and now my least favorites, this is going from 1 is most hated to 5 is barely tolerable.

2012 Usagi, I literally hate this guy. He’s so annoying and I can not understand why people like him so much.

Savnti Romero and Renet. These episodes are so dumb and a waste of time. 2012 Renet is at least more has a more tolerable personality and she and Mikey are such a cute duo, but that’s really the only exception to that rule. I hate time travel plots .

2003 Karai, you had your chance girl then you stabbed my boy in the shoulder and gave him PTSD, you should’ve died in the final battle, you don’t deserve the compassion of the turtles.

2012’s one episode appearance villains, like Really? That was the best you could do? Their just so…ugh, why am I even watching this episode?

Mutant Mayhem. Idk, definitely very excited about it, but I try not to get my hopes up too high. Very very few movies actually live up to my expectations, so I always try to hope it’s gonna be awesome but expect it’s gonna be trash, that way I am happily surprised when it’s actually pretty good.

So far my favorite TMNT movie is Batman Vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, there’s so much that is absolutely incredible about that movie and it’s only rivaled with the Rise movie. I’d like to see if Mutant Mayhem can compete.
