Today is a sad day. I have officially written the last chapter of To Be Free From the Gods. Three full notebooks in which I wrote every single chapter, and roughly 60GB of video footage for references, and now it's finally done. I actually cried while I wrote the last few paragraphs. I've been working on this since March, bridging from one single thing that I had wished was different in the base game. I honestly never really intended to post it anywhere. And when I did, I did not anticipate anyone actually liking it. Nor did I anticipate people falling in love with Daedra, and her relationship with Minthara. Already had a couple people tell me that Daedra and Minthara are on their lists of favorite ships.

To everyone who has followed me through the story and kept up, thank you. There are not enough words to describe how much I love you and appreciate you. All of the feedback I have gotten has only encouraged me to do more, and I want to do more. Even though I am good at writing essays, I've never really considered myself to be much of a creative writer, nor particularly good at it. So, it makes me happy that people do like my creative writing, just as much as my analytical and argumentative stuff.

With that being said, there are still plenty of chapters left for me to publish so it's not over quite yet. Once I finish publishing TBFFTG, uploads on I Want This One will be more frequent as I will soon have the time to put more attention to it. But uploads will not be as frequent as TBFFTG, nor will I stick to a strict schedule like I used to. I want to give each chapter the proper attention and care, and will upload them when they are done. It will also be a long fic, but I don't intend on it being as long as TBFFTG (although, I never intended for that one to get as long as it did either).

I also do intend on getting over to my Shadowheart x Minthara fic. I have the framework written out for it, but only up to Act 3. I still need to finish my Shadowheart origin run before I start writing anything for it, which I might get back to within the week. I also have a small queue of stories that I do intend to get to as well so.

Summary:

One minute she's watching the youngest Lan daughter bow to her ancestors—it still baffles her that Wei Wuxian counts her as an ancestor, and that he's filial enough to have had a plaque made for her, but here they are—and the next she's choking on blood, her eyesight dimming. Wei Wuxian, she thinks furiously, what have you done now?

Then she wakes up.

Because her bladder is full.

Yu Ziyuan finds herself back in Lotus Pier, before any of her children have been born, and decides that things would go better if Jiang Yanli is the heir, not Jiang Cheng. One change leads to another, and another, and another.

And is Cangse Sanren flirting with her?

Things do not always go smoothly, but sometimes the family you find is the one you should have had all along.

This is a polyamorous Jiang parents fix-it fic: Yu Ziyuan/Cangse Sanren, Yu Ziyuan/Jiang Fengmian, Cangse Sanren/Wei Changze, Wei Changze/Jiang Fengmian. WangXian still happens, but it's not the main focus.

It's a pretty light Mature that could probably have been okay as a heavy Teen. Fully written and beta-read; 70k-ish of raising children, standing up for what one values, and falling in love.

A Mermaid Magic Music Mystery?

Well, more like questionable music release decisions. You see, as I suspected, an EP of the songs in Mermaid Magic went up after the series release, with 3 songs, including the two that were released earlier this month. So far, so good.

In the credits for the show the transformation song is called Shine & Glow, which is what it's called on the EP, but the previously released single called it Pearl Power. And here's where the mystery comes in. The single version of Pearl Power was removed from Spotify, even though the single of Making Waves wasn't, but I could still access its information in my history and saw that there was a time discrepancy between the two versions. The EP is only 5 seconds shorter, but that was enough to make me curious. Which is how I learned the youtube video of the single had also been removed, but it was still available on itunes, so I was able to compare the two versions.

The main difference between them is that Pearl Power has an extra instrumental break near the end. Which is all well and good, except the instrumental is about 15 seconds long! It turns out Shine & Glow has a couple extra seconds of intro, but also a full ten seconds of silence at the end of the track. It should be noted that the EP version of Making Waves is 5 seconds longer than the single, entirely due to extra silence at the end, but five seconds is a more reasonable buffer than ten.

One last wrinkle to this mystery: even though the singles are on itunes, the EP is not. This might just be an oversight and it will be there later, but we will have to wait and see. Update: as of 8/24, Pearl Power is removed from itunes, though Making Waves is still up, and the EP still is not.

i've now officially finished watching every official friday the 13th that is currently out. had a blast watching the franchise and i can't wait to start watching the halloween and a nightmare on elm street movie franchise in october :) (first halloween and then nightmare on elm street if i finish the halloween movies before halloween lol)
