It must be a dream. A nightmare.
Whatever was happening, it wasn't real. It couldn't be. You refused to believe it.
Azriel was still talking, but you weren't listening anymore. His words blurred together in your mind, yet his first few sentences remained sharp, playing over and over in your head.
I've found my mate.
You had never been the jealous type, so it hadn't bothered you when he began spending more and more time with Madja’s new apprentice. It had started as small talk after her visits and you usually lingered too. Talya seemed nice enough—quiet and reserved yet friendly.
You hadn't questioned it when Azriel started visiting the apothecary for even the slightest headache. But then those visits became too frequent. He went there even when both of you felt perfectly fine.
You should have realized something was off when Azriel became distant. The signs had been there. You had just been too blind to see them.
But the problem wasn't that he had found his mate, was it?
I want to be with her.
A few simple words, and the whole world collapsed around you.
“Baby, please, just look at me.” His voice finally cut through your thoughts. “I know this is hard to hear, but let me—”
“You promised,” you interrupted him. Your eyes met his from where he sat at the other end of the couch.
“Baby…” he began, but you cut him off again.
“You promised,” you repeated, your voice rising as tears pricked your eyes. “You promised!”
Guilt flashed across Azriel's face, and he at least had the decency to remain silent as you pressed on.
“You said you'd reject your mate for me, Az,” you blurted out. Hot, angry tears rolled down your cheeks, but you barely noticed. “It was in your wedding vows, for gods’ sake!”
Azriel shook his head. “It's not that simple. I don't—”
“Isn't it?” you interrupted again. “Because it seems simple enough to me. You just reject the bond, like I did.”
His expression immediately hardened. “I don't want to reject the bond. If you would only let—”
“Why wouldn't you want to reject it?” you demanded.
“Because she's my mate!”
“And I'm your wife!”
For a moment, you just glared at each other. His shadows swarmed nervously around his wings, but then his shoulders slumped and his expression softened slightly.
“Can you let me explain?” he asked, studying you. “Please.”
With a sigh, you wiped your cheeks before crossing your arms over your chest. You simply looked at him, waiting.
“I don't want to lose you, baby,” he said softly.
“I don't see how that is going—”
Azriel stopped you mid-sentence. “Let me finish? Please?”
You rolled your eyes but gestured for him to continue. Listening to him was the last thing you wanted right now, but maybe he was going to surprise you. Maybe he was going to say it was all just a joke, a prank, and you'd be mad, but it would be fine.
You were grasping at straws, and you knew it.
“I still want to be with you,” Azriel said. He shot you a sharp look when you opened your mouth, and you sank back against the couch to let him continue. “But I also want to explore this bond with her.”
You scoffed. “So what? You think you can have both of us?” You shook your head, something vicious twisting in your gut. “That's not going to work, Azriel.”
You rose from your seat to head upstairs. You needed time to think, to figure out what to do. If you stayed, you would only get angrier. You had already cried and had no desire to do it again. But if you left, maybe you could spare yourself the fury.
Though the pain—the ache in your heart—could not be avoided, no matter what you did.
“Talya said that she understands the situation and she'd be willing to—”
You froze on the spot. Azriel must have realized he'd said the wrong thing because he didn't finish the sentence. His eyes dropped to your clenched fists as you turned back to face him.
Your restraint was gone. You wouldn't hold back now.
“You talked to her before you talked to me?” you seethed.
“Well, I…” Azriel seemed to be grasping for words. “She's my mate,” he repeated, as if that was explanation enough.
“And I'm your wife!” You threw your hands up. “I have been for the last two centuries!”
“I'm sorry, baby, but I—”
“Don't you ‘baby’ me, Azriel!”
He lowered his gaze, but you were too upset to care about the hurt look in his eyes. It was nowhere close to the heartache he was causing you.
“You know why I never worried about you finding your mate?” you asked. He looked up at you, but even if he had planned on saying something, you didn't give him time. “Because you promised you'd choose me. You promised you would reject the bond. And I believed it, believed you. I trusted you.”
You were well aware of what rejecting a mating bond felt like, how difficult it could be to deal with. Even without feelings involved, even knowing that you and your mate wouldn't have been a good match, it had still taken you two weeks to feel whole again. But Azriel had been there, filling the empty spot where your bond had been with his love.
You had never regretted your choice. You never had a reason to.
“And now I find out that not only did you spend time with her knowing she was your mate,” you went on, “but that you also want to be with her?”
Azriel’s voice was firm, edged with frustration. “I told you I want to be with you too, didn’t I?”
“Mother above, Azriel,” you snapped. “You think that makes me feel better? I trusted you, but you didn't even try.”
You had fought before. After two hundred years together, arguments were inevitable. But you usually talked it out and reconciled after a few hours—a day at worst. Maybe that was why Azriel didn't look particularly concerned.
Until you slipped the wedding band off your finger and tossed it onto the couch beside him.
His eyes widened in shock, and his usually restless shadows stilled behind him. You both stared at the ring, the silence stretching as your anger faded, leaving behind only a broken heart.
“You can't have your cake and eat it too, Az,” you finally said, your voice calmer now, resigned.
You turned on your heel again.
“I'm leaving,” you announced, already walking toward the stairs. You could go stay with your parents. They would welcome you without pressing for an explanation.
Azriel snapped out of his stupor and stood, reaching for you.
“Don’t leave me now. Please. I still need you.” His fingers closed around your wrist. “I still love you.”
You yanked your arm free, but didn't turn to face him. You couldn’t bring yourself to look at him as you bit out, “You should have loved me enough not to pursue your mate. You promised.”
He tried to stop you again, his shadows swirling around your legs as if to keep you from walking away from their master.
“Baby, that's not—”
You turned back one last time. Tears lined your eyes and your voice broke on the words. “I should have been enough, Azriel.”
You didn't wait to hear his response. You didn't try to go upstairs to pack some clothes.
Unable to stomach his presence any longer, you winnowed away.

a/n: technically, this is the end. I wanted to leave it open and hanging, but the more I think about it, the more I realize that I am a sucker for happy endings so I might write a part 2 bc I already have an idea :))

[6.1k] most of the league welcome a bye week as all-stars hits the season calendar. with both brothers picked and the rest of the boys on the team flying out somewhere warm for the break, luke has a decision to make. and that decision ends up being a staycation in new jersey with you—not that anyone else in his life really understand why. (smut)
series masterlist
.
“Whoever is in charge of this schedule sounds like a sadist.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah!” You repeated with a small huff, staring down at your phone screen where—he presumed—you were looking at the Devils’ game schedule. “Surely there’s a better way than playing, like, three back to backs in such a short time span.”
“It’s hockey,” Luke shrugged, like that somehow explained everything. “It’s just how it is. How it’s always been, to be honest.”
“This makes no sense,” you grumbled, your eyes narrowed in distaste. “You literally played four games last week! Four! In the space of six days!”
Luke snorted. “Yeah, Cherry, I’m fully aware. I was at the games. Playing.”
You shot him a look before letting your brows furrowed in confusion. “I don’t get it.”
“The schedule?” Luke asked.
“No, the hockey player sex god stereotype,” you retorted. “How the hell do they find the time to even have sex? How the hell do they have the energy to even have sex?”
Luke tried—and mostly failed—to bite back his grin. “That’s your big question about hockey players?”
“Yes,” you deadpanned. “I know you are professionals and all but surely this is a bit ridiculous.”
“Hockey is hockey,” Luke answered, shrugging once again. “It’s just always how it’s been.”
“So, hockey players are sex gods and sadists,” you muttered to yourself, your focus back on your phone screen. “Good to know.”
Luke only laughed in response.
“I don’t get why they don’t just move some of the games to the first week in February,” you pointed out. “You have nothing on then.”
“Because that’s when All-Stars is,” Luke answered. “They send a bunch of guys from different teams to compete in these challenges and stuff.”
“Like the Hunger Games?”
“I—” Luke’s nose scrunched up. “Yeah, but less death and violence. People usually stay nice for it.”
“Have you been reaped?” You questioned, grinning a little.
Luke rolled his eyes. “No, I have not. They choose the best.”
You frowned. “You are the best. You’re the best hockey player I know.”
Luke shot you a look. “I’m the only hockey player you know.”
“Semantics,” you waved him off. “My point still stands.”
“No, I get something better,” he stated. “I get a week off.”
You grinned. “Big plans?”
Luke shrugged. “Honestly, I was just looking forward to a week without Jack banging on my door for morning skate.”
“So you’re going to spend the week hibernating,” you teased, lightly nudging his thigh with your foot. But before you could pull your foot back, Luke had grabbed your ankle and easily maneuvered your feet onto his lap. “God, I’ll need to find someone else to cook for me for a week then.”
And the thing is that Luke knew you were just teasing. For all his claims of being a great cook (which he was, just in the few meals he actually knew how to cook), he had grown into a comfortable habit with you. He enjoyed spending time at your place. He enjoyed unwinding after bad games or grueling practices. He just enjoyed being around you, both before and after his recent realisation of his feelings.
But now he was staring at you from across the couch, watching the way you were lounging in one of his old Michigan sweatshirts and just felt that overwhelming urge to say something stupid.
Instead, he settled on, “you should come over.”
You paused, raising your brows. “Come over where?”
“To my place,” he said, feeling his cheeks heat up. “Jack will be gone and I’ll have the place to myself. We can just—” He paused, his brain going blank at the sight of your amused expression. “Chill.”
“Chill?” You repeated, grinning.
“Chill,” he nodded, squeezing your ankle. “Just…I feel like…I’m always imposing in your space, you know? You can impose in my space too.”
“You are a weird guy, Hughes,” you commented, though Luke liked to think you sounded fond when you spoke.
“Is that a no?” He asked before he could help himself.
You beamed in response. “It’s not a no.”
He felt something quite like hope spark in his chest. “So, it’s a yes?”
“Depends,” your eyes glinted. “Are you still Team Stefan? Because if the answer is yes, I will have to decline.”
Luke groaned. “I said that after we watched, like, three episodes! Stop holding that over my head!”
“This sucks!”
“Yes, it sucks so much being acknowledged for your skills,” Dawson deadpanned, watching the way Jack wandered around the locker room after practice, whining and complaining about everyone else making their Bye Week plans.
“You know that’s not what I meant,” Jack huffed, narrowing his eyes at the boy before shifting his attention to Nico, eyes wide and hopeful. “Take me with you? I want to go somewhere warm. I want to go somewhere where the chances of freezing my balls off are lower than zero.”
“Dude,” Nate scrunched his nose, laughing. “We play ice hockey for a living, you can handle a bit of cold.”
“Suck it up, superstar,” Curtis called out with a huge grin. “Gotta pay up for having the Hughes name on the back of your jersey.”
“Moose lucked out,” Jack sighed. “I have Quinn and the bajillion Canucks players that are also going. I swear he rigged the thing.”
“Bajillion?” Nico repeated with a disgustingly fond expression.
“Bajillion,” Jack nodded. “There’s too many of them. No one needs that many Canucks in one place. It’s an infestation.”
“I’m surprised you even know what that word means,” Nate snorted.
Jack glared.
“You not going up to Toronto to support your brothers?” Dawson asked, turning his head to look over at Luke. However, the boy barely reacted. He repeated the question again, and one more time before finally throwing a ball of rolled up tape at the side of Luke’s head.
Luke tore his eyes away from his phone, snapping his head up to find half the locker room already staring at him. “What? What did I miss?”
“Jack complaining about All Stars,” Curtis answered.
“Oh,” Luke blinked. “So nothing new then?”
“You're not going to Toronto?” Nico asked this time, before Curtis could say whatever witty response he had ready to go.
“Uh, no,” Luke shook his head.
“Scared you’ll steal their thunder?” Nate joked, patting Luke’s shoulder as he walked past to get to his stall.
Jack snorted. “He thinks he’s too cool for Toronto. Probably following John to wherever the hell he is going.”
John’s ears perked, turning whilst he was still removing some of his gear. “What? Luke said he didn’t want to come with us.”
Jack paused, frowning a little before turning to Luke. “You’re not going away for the week?”
Luke could feel his cheeks burning up. “No?”
Jack’s eyes narrowed in suspicion.
“At least he also won’t be somewhere warm,” Nico stepped in, a hand on Jack’s shoulder providing more than enough distraction from Jack asking questions as he turned to look at Nico with the embarrassingly obvious heart eyes he has always had for the captain.
It gave Luke the short reprieve he wanted, avoiding the other curious looks he was getting as he glanced down at his phone screen for a moment, grinning at the messages before he locked it and put it back in his bag so he could finish getting changed.
cherry🍒: i hope you know that i am using this opportunity to steal as many of your hoodies as i can before the week is over
cherry🍒: consider this your one and only warning
It was surprisingly easy to prevent Jack from asking any more questions.
A little too easy, if Luke was being honest.
But Luke was also not an idiot so he didn’t question Jack’s silence after he mentioned a friend would be staying with Luke for the week. Jack had just stared blankly for a few moments before laughing, shaking his head and walking out the room, muttering something about needing to stop by Nico’s after he finished packing. Luke took it as the blessing it was and didn’t bring it up again.
Truthfully, it didn’t hit Luke how insane it felt to have you with him the whole week until he was running around the apartment, cleaning up whatever he could before his phone began ringing from the other room.
“Dude, you have shit timing.”
Ethan laughed on the other side of the phone. “You’ve been ignoring me! I feel abandoned. What happened to the Luke who said he missed me?”
“I never said that,” Luke retorted.
“Rude,” Ethan huffed. “Why do you sound so out of breath? Were you training or something?”
“Nah, just tidying the place up,” Luke replied absentmindedly, staring at the hoodie he picked up on the floor with a frown. If he was being honest, he didn’t know if it was his or Jack’s, and usually he didn’t care. But the image of you wearing it thinking it belonged to him when in reality it was Jack’s passed his mind and he quickly shoved it into the washing basket. That would be a problem he dealt with later.
“Ugh, don’t even,” Ethan whined on the other side of the phone. “I’m so jealous, dude. I would kill to be on a beach somewhere right now.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Luke muttered as he continued to pick up a few empty bottles of gatorade on the coffee table before pausing. “Wait, what? What the fuck are you on about? Who’s going to the beach?”
Ethan sounded just as confused on the other side. “You?”
“No, I’m not?” Luke replied, frowning. “I just told you, I’m at my place.”
“Yeah, because you are tidying up before you fly out somewhere. For Bye Week.”
“Who told you that?”
“I thought it was obvious? Why the fuck would you not be flying out somewhere?”
And honestly, Luke didn’t have much of a comeback for that one. Because to everyone else, it did seem weird. He knew that. He gathered as much from the rest of the boys’ reactions in the locker room the other day. He gathered it from Jack’s reaction and Quinn’s message (‘wtf rusty’) when he broke the news in the brothers group chat.
He knew.
But somehow trying to justify it to one of his best friends over the phone made him realise how fucking dodgy it sounded when none of them really knew about you.
“So, let me get this straight.”
Luke let out a deep sigh.
“You declined on going up to Toronto with your brothers because you didn’t want to impose, or whatever dumb shit you said, and let them enjoy All-Stars.”
“Yes.”
“And then you had the offer to go to Cabo and the Bahamas with teammates, which you also declined.”
“Mhm.”
“And then you decided to stay in New Jersey instead of even visiting us up in Michigan with your week off?”
“Yup.”
“Dude,” Ethan squawked, offended and confused and downright discombobulated. “What the fuck is wrong with you? Do you have a concussion? Is this like a mid-season breakdown? Do I need to call for help?”
Luke rolled his eyes. “You’re always so dramatic.”
“I think I am being perfectly reasonable here.”
Luke disagreed—majorly—but he valued his life so he stayed silent.
“You’re gonna get so bored staying in Jersey all week,” Ethan pointed out. “What are you even gonna do?”
Luke opened his mouth to reply just as the buzzer sounded through the apartment. If anyone asked, he would deny the way his face instantly broke out into a smile.
“Sleep my ass off. It’s hard being in the NHL,” Luke said in the snobbiest voice he could, letting Ethan cackle on the other side and try to get another word in before he spoke up again. “Look, I gotta run, I’ll call you later. Promise.”
“He plays in the big leagues and thinks he’s so much better than us.”
“I am better than you,” Luke grinned. “I remember winning beer pong.”
“That doesn’t fucking count! Mark was the one who—”
“Bye, Ethan!”
Luke couldn’t hang up and rush to open the door fast enough.
Deep down, he knew it was stupid for him to feel nervous about you staying over at his place for the week.
He had stayed over at yours more times than he could count on one hand. You had become an integral part of his life in New Jersey. You were one of his closest friends. He knew you. He knew you knew him. There should have been nothing that made the week weird.
But he couldn’t help but feel like it meant more. This was him inviting you to stay over for a few days, to stay at his place whilst his brother was out of town, to spend the week with him when he should be resting and drinking some overpriced cocktail on a beach somewhere warm.
You were his friend but spending his whole stay-cation with him in his apartment like the two of you were playing house was something far from platonic.
It was a bit of a mindfuck, but not as much as realising just how fucking easy it all was.
It was different from the various nights he spent at your apartment. It was different seeing you in his space, fitting into his life so easily. It was different seeing you relaxed and laid back, looking like you belonged.
It was different from the night at his birthday party, where you were one of many faces. It was just you and him, standing in his kitchen or sitting on his couch or lying in his bed. It felt so different but so fucking good.
Only a few days had passed and yet Luke forgot a time where you weren’t here, where you weren’t by his side throughout the whole day.
It was dangerous but the warning signs were easy to ignore when his attention was fully focused on you.
“Are you calling me lanky?”
“It was a compliment!” You insisted, but there was a smile on your face—not that he could see, considering your face was currently pressed against his chest as the two of you laid on the couch to watch the fastest skater skill event. “You would do well in this challenge. It would take you, like, five less strides than the rest of them.”
Luke snorted. “Geez, thanks.”
“You’ll see,” you murmured, nuzzling your head further into his chest. “You’ll do it one day and win and know that I’m right.”
“And then you’ll tell me ‘I told you so’?” Luke guessed, his eyes now on you rather than the tv screen.
“Obviously,” you replied, lifting your head so your chin was resting on the spot your cheek was squished against moments ago. “I’m always right, Hughes. The sooner you accept that fact, the easier your life will be.”
Luke raised his brows in amusement. “So when you very confidently said that you loved that movie where Andrew Garfield played Batman—”
“Shut up,” you groaned, lightly pinching his side but he quickly caught your hand. “We were watching Twilight! I was thinking about Robert Pattinson! I got confused!”
“Uh huh,” Luke beamed. “Just always so right—”
“You’re being a dick,” you huffed, even if you were smiling. “Here I was trying to give you a compliment—”
“By calling me lanky.”
“—and this is the thanks I get,” you shook your head.
Luke’s expression softened, his hand reaching up to tuck some hair behind your ear as he smiled down at you. “Thank you, Cherry. I appreciate the confidence.”
“Confidence is sexy,” you retorted, your palms warm and comforting against his sides. “Soon you won’t need me to remind you.”
“But I like when you say it,” Luke retorted.
“Professional athletes and their praise kinks,” you sighed, grinning a little when he reached down to pinch your side this time.
“I’m the only professional athlete you know,” Luke pointed out, trying to ignore the twist in his stomach at the mere idea that maybe he wasn’t. That maybe you knew more, that maybe you had experience with more, that maybe they were far more experienced than him and—
“And you have a praise kink,” you said, interrupting his spiralling thoughts. “Therefore, my theory has not been disproved. I’m right.”
Luke’s cheeks burned hot. “I do not have a praise kink.”
You snorted, grinning as you lifted a hand to playfully squeeze his cheeks. “Aw, baby, you do and it’s hot. Don’t get all shy about it.”
“Whatever,” Luke murmured, turning his focus back to the tv instead of the growing smirk on your face.
But the thought lingered in his mind even as the two of you continued to cuddle on the couch, watching whatever movie you had chosen after the All-Stars events ended. It picked at his brain, chipping away at the self-restraint he had to keep his mouth shut for the rest of the night until the two of you were getting ready for bed.
He was lingering by the doorway, watching you get your side of the bed (because apparently that was also something that came easily to the two of you) ready before you climbed into bed. And before he could stop himself, he was already blurting out the words that were on the tip of his tongue for most of the night.
“Do you really think the praise kink thing is hot?”
His cheeks were already blushy and pink and hot when you turned your head to look at him.
“How long have you been wanting to ask that?” You asked, something lighthearted and teasing in your voice that was oddly reassuring. You didn’t think he was a freak for asking. Not that he ever assumed you would judge him, you both were far from that point.
“Does it change your answer?” He asked, not sounding half as confident as he wanted to.
Your smile softened a little as you walked around the bed and towards him. You tilted your head back once you were in front of him, watching him with a look he couldn’t quite work out.
Luke swallowed a little.
“It doesn’t change my answer,” you answered honestly.
Luke could feel something in his chest tighten. “And what’s your answer?”
“I think it’s hot,” you told him, saying it so casually as though the two of you were discussing the weather. “I think everyone has a praise kink to some extent but…”
Luke could feel his heart pounding in his chest. “But?”
“But it’s different with you,” you said, your fingers lightly skimming against his stomach before curling around the hem of his shirt. “You’re so…responsive. It’s hot.”
His body twitched, like his skin was too tight for his body. “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” you confirmed, smiling a little before using the grasp on his shirt to tug him closer and close the distance between you both. Not that there was much.
Luke was almost embarrassed by the noise he made the second your lips were on his, your hands fisting the fabric of his shirt as you used the leverage against him. He ducked his head down, trying to chase your lips as you continued to tease him and tempt him. He barely realised his feet were moving until the back of your knees hit the bed and you pulled back to look at him.
“So pretty,” you murmured, close enough to hear the way his breath hitched before you moved down onto the bed, with your grasp on his shirt enough to drag him down with you.
It was far from sexy, if Luke was being honest. An awkward maneuver of too many limbs and shuffling up the bed that should have ruined the moment, but it didn’t. Because it was you and you were laughing and smiling and snorting when Luke almost decked it on top of you after he got his foot stuck. You made it feel so normal. Like it was all just a part of the charm.
Maybe it was. Maybe feeling safe enough to be human and imperfect was a part of the charm.
Because despite the uncoordinated and clumsy scrambling onto the bed, you were still looking at him like you wanted to see how pink his cheeks could turn.
Luke barely put up a fight when you pulled him back down, happily following your movements as he settled between your legs and let you wind your arms around his neck so his nose was brushing against yours before you leaned in to kiss him again.
Unlike a lot of the other makeout sessions the two of you had, there was no rush. There was no lingering adrenaline from a game he wanted to work off or some bad plays he wanted to forget. There were no teasing messages or risky phone calls that were building up to this moment. There was absolutely nothing but just the two of you lying in his bed, making out because you wanted to.
Because you wanted to kiss him and he wanted to kiss you. Because you enjoyed the weight of him on top of you and he enjoyed the way your fingers entangled themselves in his curls. Because for reasons that were beyond his understanding, you wanted this as much as he did.
“Fuck,” he muttered against your lips, his tongue lightly skimming over the area of his bottom lip you nipped with your teeth.
You smiled up at him. “See? So responsive. It’s cute.”
He swallowed. “Cute?”
“Cute, hot, sexy, whatever word you want to use, pretty boy,” you murmured, one hand sliding down to cup his face as your thumb skimmed over the apple of his cheek. “All I know is that I like the noises you make.”
Luke responded by leaning back down, kissing you because he could, because he wanted to, because he liked the way your laugh vibrated against his lips before you kissed back.
But whatever control Luke thought he had on himself when he was with you quickly dwindled as you pulled him closer, letting his body fall on top of you and let your thighs squeeze his sides until he was rocking his hips against yours, until he was practically panting between kisses.
“Mmm,” you hummed, pressing one, two, three pecks against his lips before your lips traced along his cheek and down his jaw. “That’s it, baby. I can feel how much you like this. S’cute how worked up you get just making out.”
“You’re hot,” he gasped out, like it was self-explanatory. Like it justified why he could feel his dick twitching in his sweatpants, probably already making a mess that he would pretend didn’t embarrass him as much as it did.
Your smile was softer, your hand on his face feeling more intimate as you guided his eyes to meet yours. “I think,” you started, your thumb lightly tracing down his cheek and skimming his bottom lip. “You’re hot too. And that you can come like this. Make a mess f’me.”
And fuck, he could.
It wouldn’t be the first time he did, helplessly grinding against you whilst you kissed him and praised him and made his head fucking spin before he was coming harder than he really should be able to from a simple act. He could lean down, press his lips against yours and slide his tongue against yours and feel the way you cling onto him as he comes. He could do it.
But there was a buzzing voice in the back of his head, getting louder and louder until—
“I bought condoms.”
He could see the initial surprise on your face as you processed the words he just blurted out, the eyes locked on his kiss-swollen lips shifting to look up and watch the way he squirmed under the realisation of his words. He watched the way you tucked your bottom lip between your teeth, eyes narrowing slightly like you were observing him, keeping on edge until he spoke.
“You bought condoms,” you repeated, trying and failing to keep the smile off your face. “Big plans for this week?”
“I—” Luke’s face burned. “That wasn’t… didn’t mean…I was just—”
“Luke,” you said in a softer voice, your smile faltering a little into something more sincere. “M’only teasing.”
“Okay,” he whispered, a knot twisting in his stomach with every passing second. He swore he was moments away from just exploding out of pure embarrassment or something just as humiliating.
“Breathe for me,” you murmured, smiling a little when he let out a shaky breath. “We don’t have to, if you don’t want to. Just because you bought them, doesn’t mean we have to do anything with them just yet.”
Luke swallowed, his whole body thrumming as he replied. “I…I want to.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah,” he nodded, his brows furrowing slightly. “Only if you want to, too. Because consent is sexy, you know.”
You laughed a little, both hands now cupping his face so your eyes could meet his. “I do, if you want this. If you’re ready.”
“It is,” he whispered, nodding again. “I trust you, Cherry. I want this. With you.”
“Okay,” you whispered before kissing him again, slow and sure and content.
It made him feel a little less like his skin was shrinking all over his body.
And you kept kissing him until his body didn’t feel so tense, until he didn’t feel like a wooden plank on top of you, until he was relaxed and making those little noises between kisses that let you know he wasn’t as nervous as before.
You kept kissing him as you lightly nudged him back, letting him lean back on his knees until he was straddling your body, giving him enough movement to lean over and scramble through his nightstand until he found the unopened box of condoms.
He tried to tear the plastic covering over the box off, tried to peel it away but his hands were shaking more than he liked and his heart was pounding in his chest and—
“Hey, relax,” you murmured softly, sitting up and taking the box from his hands with little fight from him.
“Sorry,” he mumbled with a sheepish smile. “Nerves, I guess.”
“It’s okay,” you promised. “You know we can stop at any time, just say the word.”
He swallowed harshly. “No, I do—”
“I know,” you smiled. “But I also want you to know that.”
“Only if you do too,” Luke responded, looking completely serious as he said it. “If you want to stop at any moment too, you have to say something too. I don’t want you to feel like you have to do this with me because it’s my…first time or whatever.”
“I promise,” you smiled before nudging him back, until he was settled with his back against the headboard and you were on his lap. “Don’t worry about the condoms right now, okay? Just focus on me.”
And Luke did.
Because, in complete honesty, it was very easy to ignore the box of condoms and the bubbling nerves and the growing realisation of what was about to happen. The voice in the back of his head saying ‘oh fuck, this is it’ was barely a whisper when his focus was on you.
It was easy to get lost in the familiarity of you. He was used to this. He was used to you sitting on his lap, straddling his thighs and kissing him senseless. He was used to you dragging your shirt over your head and throwing it to the side. He was used to you tugging his sweatpants down and letting your own follow and guiding his hand between your legs whilst you whispered filthy things against his lips.
He was used to the way you always targeted the spot just behind his ear, blowing cool air until he physically shivered. He was used to the way your eyes fluttered shut when his thumb lightly skimmed across your nipple. He was used to choking out a breathless moan whenever your thumb slid along the slit on the head of his cock. He was used to the way you tugged on his hair when you were close, letting the dull pain throb wonderfully at the base of his skull whilst you pressed your face against his shoulder.
You were right, all those weeks ago back at the start of the season, when you said he needed to build up to this moment. You were right about the different experiences and experiments the two of you had tried and tested over the last few months. You were right when you said it was just like practicing hockey.
It felt a bit fucking poetic and pathetic to compare his sex life to hockey right now, but he got it.
The same nerves that bubbled up before his first NHL game were no different. Because even though he had played hockey his whole life, it still felt nerve-wracking to play in the NHL. And even though he had spent the last few months doing so much with you, it was still kind of daunting to know it was all leading up to this.
But just like his first NHL game, it just felt right.
You felt right.
This whole moment felt right.
Luke knew he was not like his friends or teammates. He had spent years growing up with locker room talk, hearing about random hookups in the backseat of a car or halfhearted blowjobs in a bar bathroom. He heard about one night stands and casual flings and situationships that tended to go sour. He had heard it all and it was unsettling to imagine that was the future waiting for him.
But it wasn’t.
And it felt a bit comforting to know that he never had to look back on this experience and regret the person he was with or where he was or whatever stupid risk it could cause his career. All he had to think about was him and you and the way you were looking just as affected and turned on as he was right now.
“You still sure?” You whispered, soft and comforting and so fucking caring, it made his throat feel a little tight.
“Yeah,” he nodded, smiling a little as he leaned in to kiss you again to emphasise his point. “I trust you. I want this with you.”
You smiled, still looking so fucking genuine before you leaned over to grab the box of condoms, removing the plastic peel with an ease he was only slightly jealous of. He watched you grab a small foil packet, glancing at him every few seconds like you were waiting for him to jump back on his decision.
“I trust you,” he repeated, confident and sure.
His hands laid on your legs as you tore open the foil packet. His hands squeezed the fat of your thighs as you rolled the condom on him, stroking him a few times until he was bucking into your touch. His hands were on your waist, supportive and guiding as you slowly sunk down onto his cock.
“Shit,” Luke breathed out, his breath shaky and gasping. “Shit.”
“I’ve got you,” you whispered, one hand on his shoulder and the other gripping the back of his neck. “I—fuck—I’ve got you.”
The squeeze of your walls around his cock made him want to close his eyes. It made him want to lean back against the headboard, keep his eyes closed and fucking bask in the feeling of you being so warm and tight and intense around him. But the desire to watch the way his cock disappeared into you was stronger, to watch the way your eyes fluttered shut and your lips parted as you settled fully on his lap.
It was fucking memesiring watching the way you slowly lifted your hips and sunk down again. It made him feel like his head was spinning as he watched you continued to move, to sink up and down on his cock, to fuck yourself on his cock and moan his name and look into his eyes and—
“Can I—” He cut himself off, a pathetic and whiny noise leaving his lips when you squeezed around him. “Can I please—”
“Whatever you want,” you murmured, breathless and panting as you leaned in to kiss him like you needed it.
He let himself enjoy the kiss, to enjoy the feeling of being inside you and the weight of you on his lap and your lips on his before he moved. Before he reminded his brain that he can move, that he didn’t have to feel so boneless and helpless, as he shifted until the two of you had rolled over and you were beneath him and—
“Oh fuck,” you moaned, loud and shameless as he hooked an arm under your knee, lifting your leg out of the way enough for him to thrust back in as your head feel back against the pillow. “Shit, yes, like that.”
For a second, it was hard to remember he was even in his own body as he watched you. It was fucking mesmerising as he watched you moan and whine beneath him, as he felt your nails digging into his skin and scratching down his back as you demanded him for more, as you muttered his name between pleas and begs and whimpers.
Luke kind of wished this moment would last forever.
Unfortunately for him, he was utterly weak when it came to you. Because you were pretty and sweet and you felt fucking unreal around him, and you were looking at him like he fucking meant something and—
It was so much. Too much. Just fucking enough.
“I can’t—” He gasped out, his whole body feeling like it was buzzing alive as the knot in his stomach twisted tighter and his thrusts became sloppier. “I’m not gonna last long—”
“Come for me,” you breathed out, your hands cupping his cheeks as you wound your legs around his waist. “C’mon, Luke, wanna feel you come in me.”
And well, he stood no fucking chance lasting after you said that to him.
He could have sworn his ears were ringing when he came. It was intense and overwhelming and disorienting and, fuck, it felt so good. He could feel his muscles tensing, his body rigid and shaking as his orgasm washed over him. He could feel the wave of pleasure rushing through him, leaving every fucking nerve in his body buzzing as he let himself enjoy the way you were squeezing him around him.
He felt like he was on cloud nine when you ran your hands through his curls, your lips against his ear whispering god knows what. But your voice was low and humming and comforting and he could feel his eyes slipping close to enjoy the sound of it.
He could feel you running your hands over his body, feel the way every inch of skin was pressed against you, feel the way your legs were tightening around him like you didn’t want him to move just yet either.
After the rush of adrenaline and pleasure, his body felt syrupy. His movements felt slow and unhurried, his thoughts felt like they were floating away. His brain felt fuzzy and pleased and content to just lay on the bed with you, bask in the feeling a little longer before the grossness and desire to clean up took over.
Luke was more than happy to nuzzle his face into the crook of your neck, to close his eyes and let out a happy sigh and let himself relax after the really intense last few minutes the two of you had just experienced.
And if Luke was more awake, he would have noticed the way you tensed up the second he spoke. The way your eyes widened, the way your body instantly locked up, the way you went a little pale.
If Luke was more awake, he would have been able to think twice before he spoke.
But Luke wasn’t awake. He fell asleep after muttering the one thought that had been on his mind since New Years.
He closed his eyes and slept like a fucking baby and woke up to an empty bed and an empty apartment and not a single sign of proof of the night before except the marks on his skin and the used condom lying on his bedroom floor.
“I think I’m in love with you,” he had slurred into the crook of your neck, his voice barely louder than a rumble as the sleepiness really hit.
If Luke was more awake, he would have stopped himself from completely fucking everything up.

Simon knew marriage came with adjustments, but nothing could have prepared him for life with a writer.
It wasn’t just the weird questions—though there were plenty of those—it was the way your mind never seemed to slow down. You’d be doing something completely normal, like folding laundry, and suddenly stop, eyes going distant.
He’d barely have time to ask what was wrong before you’d rush off to scribble something down, muttering about plot twists and character arcs.
Sometimes, he’d wake up in the middle of the night to find you sitting up in bed, phone screen lighting up your face as you frantically typed notes because “this idea can’t wait until morning.”
It meant half-finished coffee cups scattered around the house, abandoned when inspiration hit.
It meant narrating your own actions under your breath, like “she sighed, stretching her arms above her head” while actually doing it, which always made him raise an eyebrow.
And then there were the moments that made him question everything, like when you casually asked if he thought someone could realistically survive being shot twice in the chest or how long a body would take to decompose in a swamp. He used to answer with concern. Now, he barely looked up. “For a book?” “For a book.”
At first, he thought the strangest part was the research, but then he realized it was how easily you pulled him into it. You used him for everything—testing out fight scenes by making him grab your wrist so you could figure out how a character would escape, running your hands over his shoulders and down his arms as you mumbled about muscle structure and “what kind of build do you think my main guy should have?”
You studied him constantly, stealing phrases he said, describing his expressions in your notes, even admitting once that a few of your male characters had a bit of his attitude.
And then there was the way you used him for other inspiration. He figured it out one evening when he saw you sitting on the couch, staring at him with that look—one that usually meant you had something on your mind, but this time, you weren’t saying anything. Just watching.
He glanced over from where he was cleaning his gun. “What?”
You didn’t answer right away, just tilted your head slightly. “I think I want to write a new scene.”
He raised his brow, setting his things aside. “What kind of scene?”
A small smile played on your lips as you stood, walking toward him. “Something a bit messy.”
Simon leaned back, arms resting lazily on the couch as he looked you up and down. “You need details, then?”
“Mhm.” You straddled his lap, fingers toying with the hem of his shirt. “Need to get it just right.”
He smirked, his hands settling on your waist. “That why you’re lookin’ at me like I’m about to be put to work?”
“You don’t mind a little hard work, do you?” you teased, nails scraping lightly against his skin.
His grip tightened, voice low. “Not if you’re gonna make it worth my while.”
Much later, when you were tangled in the sheets, catching your breath, you rolled over and reached for your phone. Before you could even unlock it, a strong arm wrapped around your waist, pulling you back against Simon’s chest. “Nope,” he muttered against your shoulder.
You laughed. “I just had a thought—”
“Don’t care.” His voice was warm and heavy with sleep. “Whatever you’re about to write down, you can remember it in the morning.”
“But—”
A hand slid down your hip, fingers pressing into your skin in a way that made you shiver. “I said, in the morning,” he murmured, his lips brushing against your ear. Then, just to make sure you listened, he added, “Be a good girl and go to sleep.”
Your entire body heated at the words, your brain short-circuiting for a second before snapping into overdrive. Without a word, you bolted upright, nearly diving for your phone as you started typing furiously.
Simon groaned, dragging a hand down his face. “Are you serious?”
“Shhh,” you hushed him, fingers flying across the screen. “This is really good.”

I’ve seen a lot of people speculating that Gemma’s storyline will lead to a cloning reveal, which like, it’s a decent theory and wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. But god, this show is so specific and detail oriented Ben Stiller himself has even said nothing in the show is a coincidence. The cloning theory has also been shut down a couple times by some producers and writes from what I understand and idk I feel like a cloning reveal would just be so boring. And honestly, I don’t know if this is insane, but I’m fully leaning towards the idea that when it comes to Ms. Casey/Gemma, it’s more of a resurrection situation.
Okay so hear me out I believe our Ms. Casey is still physically Gemma her original body, her bones, her blood she’s alive baby that’s her but like also it’s not her. It’s like in horror or fantasy stories when a character dies and comes back but comes back wrong YK?. Physically it’s still them but it’s not them. In my opinion, her brain has been completely reset, wiping away whatever kind of person she used to be.
To back this theory I’ve been heavily leaning on the interaction between Ms. Cobel and Helena in the parking lot and just the general existence of the Mammalian Nurturable department.
Now, I might be reading into this too much, but I just love these characters so much and this show so please bear with me, this is a long one.
this season Harmony/Ms. Cobel is a problem. Like there is just no way she isn’t. Lumon is already struggling to keep it together after the scandal the main four caused, and a change in management isn’t helping. People are (probably) starting to pay attention, and they do not need that kind of heat. Ms. Cobel literally crashing tf out making herself homeless and sneaking around in the dark probably isn’t helping.
Helena’s choice of words have always stood out to me. She’s calculated, smart, and precise in how she speak just like Harmony. Both of them are masters at saying exactly what they need to without ever outright saying it yk? So when she she spots Cobel in the parking lot in the middle of the night she clocks her immediately.
Harmony walks out as if she still has a job in that bitch and has the audacity to tell Helena what her needs are and exactly how they should be met. And in my opinion, Helena is appalled but not surprised. She calls her out on her behavior.
“I hear ego, hubris, and arrogance. Kier teaches us they only cause pain.”
Tumblr media
To me, this isn’t just a read it’s a warning. Harmony doesn’t take it. She bites back, calling Helena a NEPOTISM BABY. wild.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I mean look at Helena’s face.
Tumblr media
So Helena lays it out for her as plainly as possible
“We didn’t have to ask you back.”
No translation even needed, she just said it flat out Baby, we don’t need you here. You do not, no matter what you think, represent us. You are not Lumon.
And Harmony, being just as cunty clocks her shit right back
“You didn’t have a choice.”
At this point, Ms. Cobel isn’t just skating on thin ice she’s walking across a frozen lake in metal combat boots, her ass skipping around as if the ice won’t break. And that’s her mistake.
Helena, after giving Harmony multiple chances to walk away. Multiple chances to come back in on lumons terms. Multiple chances to stop playing in her fucking face, finally pulls back with a kind smile and offers her a chance to “restart”.
As they walk towards the car, Ms. Cobel locks eyes with Helena’s bodyguard and the instant terror is actually insane. Full deer in headlights.
Tumblr media
A lot of people saw that shot and took it as a straight-up Sopranos esque death threat like, if she gets in that car, she’s not gonna survive the drive (RIP Audriana). And sure, it could be as simple as that, but this show is just way too good for it to be that simple.
I think Cobel recognizes the bodyguard. She knows him and I mean like fr knows him.
I saw a theory on Reddit suggesting that the bodyguard might be someone she knew maybe a former coworker, someone from her personal life (they suggested it could’ve been someone she was super close with before she even became the woman we know today) idk just somebody she knows knows and out of nowhere suddenly, he’s here, presented as Helena’s bodyguard. But it’s not him. It’s his skin, his bones, his blood but it’s not HIM.
And the way it plays out, it doesn’t seem like the bodyguard recognizes her at least not in the same way she knows him. That stare man that stare. I didn’t even know Harmony could experience fear. Who knows, maybe in that moment she’s reflecting on everything that’s happened. She bitched out the boss’s daughter in this empty ass parking lot on the brink of a mental break down, and suddenly there’s a chance to start over. All she has to do is get in that car, with that man, talk to the higher-ups, and hit the “reset” button.
Tumblr media
Basically my theory is that Lumon are essentially grave robbing the fuck out of that town. Taking people who have been in serious accidents car crashes, house fires, construction site falls, factory explosion, hell even a drive by. I also think they’re also taking drug addicts, the homeless people who have no loved ones looking out for them, or even looking for them at all, the ones who are confirmed to be gone in every way, physically or emotionally. They’re taking these people and giving them a full system reset rebooting the computer.
By doing this, Lumon gets to create a free labor force that works 24/7 without question or resistance, exploiting people who have no emotional ties or support systems. Blank slate baby! They’re also using these individuals as test subjects for whatever weird shit they wanna launch out as a new product.
This helps explain a lot of the weird shit going on with the employees at Mammalian Nurturable. They look so rough and are also really off-putting towards outsiders. Which is understandable but I genuinely believe they haven’t even “clocked out” in days, if not ever.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even though this theory makes the most sense to me, It still has its plot holes like if Gemma isn’t a clone and it’s her “resurrected” where does she go when she’s not her innie. In Season 1, she tells Mark she’s only conscious as her innie for a couple of minutes at a time, and the longest she’s ever stayed “alive” was the 8 hours she spent with his department. So where tf is she if not there as Ms Casey i don’t know man I do not know.
Anyways I have some other general curiosities about the town itself and why Lumon decided to build their main building there. I saw a TikTok video of someone saying it reminded them of company-built towns like Hershey Pennsylvania or Kodak Town, and I agree. Anywho I love this show so much it hurts I hope it never dies I literally missed having an obsession this intense I hope it gets all the love and awards it deserves!!

⋆.˚ call it what you want.
Tumblr media
in which proplayer!sae could care less about what the media was calling you two, if it means being with you again
warnings: none // wc: 647
note: fem reader! badly proofread
Tumblr media
the star midfielder of re al, itoshi sae, has a spotless reputation. there wasn't a single stain on his image, not one rumor or dating scandal. it was a matter of heated debate online; there were multiple twitter threads regarding sae's love life. was he truly single? perhaps not into women at all? did he have a secret relationship with another celebrity? if he did, he was remarkably good at never being caught.
so when a photograph of sae leading a girl to a secluded room, shot at an angle where one could only see a flash of glimmering hair, goes viral, the entire internet was wholly appalled.
sae scoffs as you read another article from your phone's news feed to him. "hey, look at this!" your tone is joking as you point towards the device's screen. "they're questioning if i'm some top hollywood celeb. is it because i dyed my hair recently?"
"love, that's stupid. you know dispatch reports more lies than truths." he replies, nose wrinkling at the thought. sure, you were beautiful, more so than any actress, but he really didn't enjoy all of the media speculation he recieved. was it so wrong of him to want something normal, to have a private relationship?
you'd known sae since before he went to spain, when you were just two simple kids trying to go through life the right way. when he had left, it'd caused a huge buzz in your town, japan finally receiving international attention for football. and you'd long since been regarded as sae's closest friend, so everyone was clamoring to ask you: would he ever come back? the drama queens threw their fits (sae had no shortage of admirers even then), many people called you a liar when you said that you didn't know, the pressure caused you to isolate yourself—done with how nosy the world was being. and of course, you missed sae more than anything. you'd mindlessly twist your fingers through the silver necklace he gifted you right before his flight, the 冴 character shining in the pale moonlight. no one else knew the words he'd suddenly whispered into your ears before he boarded without sparing a glance back; "i love you, i'll swear i'll see you again."
you'd kept that necklace for years, until itoshi sae appeared in japan once more, to play for a mysterious soccer match; and a front row ticket was mysteriously sent to your email. which you had never changed from before he left. nervous anticipation floods you, you were about to see your best friend who you hadn't heard from in years. when you finally spot him on the field, he looked nothing less than a daydream, dark pink locks impossibly perfect even against the wind and sweat. as he's being introduced, sae's gaze somehow found you amongst the crowd—you might have died. though he knew you would show up, he couldn't help but look for extra assurance. and you couldn't have predicted the whirl of events that happened after. his manager pulling you aside, saying that "itoshi sae needs to meet you," sae walking towards you with his head down, evidently trying to avoid the paparazzi, grabbing your hands and guiding you into an empty interviewing room; teal eyes glimmering with unsaid words.
your lips inevitably crashed into each other, you both had heard the cameras click and seen the flash of brilliant white, but none of you cared. "at least i did one thing right," is what sae had murmured after a few minutes, deft fingers tracing across your cheeks. his eyes flickered over the chain he gave you, one you'd never taken off. the media could call it what they wanted, because in that moment it was only you and sae. though perhaps it had always been that way—all it took was for one of you to see it.
Tumblr media
a/n: dude i'm so obsessed w this song rn. also i finally stopped slandering sae who would've thought this day would come so soon!

Title: Honey, I'm home
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Juju Watkins x Singer!Reader
Word Count: 1.5k
Genre: Fluff | Secret Relationship | First-Person POV
Summary: Soft Launch pics to Hard Launch kisses
Tumblr media
I was sitting cross-legged on my couch, phone in one hand and a bowl of fruit in the other, scrolling through my notifications. My newly released song was everywhere—TikTok, Twitter, Instagram. Fans were analyzing the lyrics, dissecting every line, and trying to figure out who it was about.
They had no idea.
"THIS HAS TO BE ABOUT SOMEONE!" one tweet read.
"Who broke her heart, who healed it, and how do we thank them?" another fan wrote.
I smirked, taking another bite of pineapple. The thing was, the song wasn’t about heartbreak—it was about her.
Juju.
My secret girlfriend.
We had been soft launching each other for months—her wearing my merch at post-game interviews, me casually posting a pic of our intertwined hands without showing her face, her commenting a simple emoji under my pictures. Subtle, but not too subtle. Enough to keep the fans guessing.
Then, she went and turned it up a notch.
Juju Watkins tagged you in a post.
I clicked the notification, and my breath hitched. It was a mirror selfie of us from last night—me leaning against her, half my face visible, and her hand resting on my waist. But what caught my eye was the gold chain around her neck, shining under the dim lighting.
My initials.
And I had the same exact chain with hers.
As if that wasn’t enough, she posted the picture on her Instagram story, with my song playing over it.
The internet went insane.
The next evening, I was in the kitchen, live on Instagram, breaking down the meaning behind the song while cooking.
"Okay, so the first verse is about meeting someone when you least expect it, right? Like, you don't go looking for love, but it just—" I snapped my fingers, "—finds you. That's what happened to me."
The comments were rolling in.
"WHO???"
"Drop the name, girl."
"Soft launch era over???"
I chuckled, stirring the sauce on the stove. "Y'all so nosy."
Just then, the front door swung open.
"Honey, I'm home!"
My soul left my body.
I whipped my head around, eyes wide as Juju strolled into the kitchen, completely unaware that I was live.
The comments blew up instantly.
"JUJU???"
"NAH, DID SHE JUST SAY 'HONEY, I'M HOME'?"
"WE KNEW IT!!!"
Juju finally noticed my phone propped up against the spice rack. Her eyes widened slightly, but instead of backing out, she smirked and walked straight up to me, wrapping her arms around my waist from behind.
"Wait—Ju, I'm live," I whispered, but it was too late.
She kissed my cheek, then my jaw, then—oh. Right on the lips.
The live chat lost its mind.
I groaned, laughing against her lips. "You really just did that?"
Juju grinned, resting her chin on my shoulder. "They were gonna find out eventually, might as well be now."
"HARD LAUNCH LETS GOOOOO."
"Juju said 'idc no more' LMFAOOO."
"I KNEW IT WAS HER I JUST KNEW IT."
I shook my head, playfully pushing her away. "Fine, since you're here, you can help me cook."
Juju held up her hands. "Oh no, last time I helped, you almost set the kitchen on fire."
"That was your fault!" I shot back.
She smirked. "Okay, sure. Babe"
I roll my eyes, "Judea I swear,"
She gasped. "Not you using my full name on live!"
The comments exploded again.
"JUDEA?? WE GETTING GOVERNMENT NAMES NOW???"
"This live is the gift that keeps on giving."
Juju laughed, grabbing a spoon and stirring the sauce. "So, tell them about the bridge in your song. I love that part."
I side-eyed her but continued, "Okay, so the bridge is the most personal part for me. It’s about realizing that love isn't about being found, it's about being seen—and wanting to stay right where you are."
Juju's smile softened. "That’s my favorite line."
I turned back to the camera. "Alright, y’all. That’s enough tea for tonight. Dinner is almost ready, and somebody needs my full attention."
Juju smirked. "Damn right."
And with that, I ended the live, knowing the internet would be in shambles for days.

feed us more loser!chloe IM STARVING
☆ porn star ☆
Tumblr media
pairing: chloe price x fem reader
warnings! : smut, drug use(r!&c!) masturbation, voyeurism (r!)exhibitionism(c!), squirting, sub! chloe, dom! reader, loser! chloe, confident! reader, you squirt on chloe’s face because you’re a bad bitch like that:P
a/n: need that. also this is set in 2013 bc why the hell not.
it was one of your usual date nights with your girlfriend, only this time you two had decided to chill down and not go out and cause havic. at least for now.
both of you were cuddled up in her bed watching one of her dvds, after showering together, chloe claiming it saved water. not because she wanted to see your pretty body all soapy and wet nooooot at all. the show that was playing was some weird 80s show with bad acting, though it was funny and entertaining to the two of you in your hazy minds.
chloes arms were wrapped around you, her chin resting on the top of your head as she made occasional snarky comments about the show you two were watching.
"can you believe this bullshit?" she said with a scoff, rolling her eyes at a particularly ridiculous plotline. “so bad.” you agreed as you sipped your gatorade she had bought you through a straw. she chuckled, shaking her head in agreement. “c’mon that’s clearly a green screen” she quipped, her eyes still glued to the screen.
as she spoke, her hand idly traced lazy circles across your bare skin, the contact casual but affectionate. she snuggled closer to you, her body fitting against yours effortlessly. you gave a small laugh at her commentary. “the 80s were a weird time.” she nodded in agreement again, a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. “you said it. so many weird fashion choices, even weirder music.”
she idly began to twirl a lock of your hair around her finger as she continued to watch the show. “not to mention the terrible special effects.” you nodded slowly as you watched before you got an idea in your little brain.
“oh my god. we need to watch these high.” you piped up. chloes eyebrow raised at your suggestion, a wide grin spreading across her face. “now that’s a good idea,” she said, her voice tinged with excitement.
she reached for the remote and hit pause on the show, turning to look at you with a mischievous sparkle in her eyes. “i’ll roll us a joint while you pick out something else to watch.” you half groaned dramatically as you now had to get up out of your cozy cocoon with her. “can you use those mango flavoured papers?” you asked as you went into her messy disarray of dvds by the tv. one of your favourite flavours of course.
“yeah yeah princess. .” she gave a playful jab as she reached down on the floor next to her side to grab yours and her stash. while you were sifting through her collection, she found your mango papers with the green gold and her trusty grinder.
after grinding the weed and rolling a joint, she focused her attention back on you.
“found anything babe?” she asked, her curiosity piqued.
“didn’t expect you to have this.” you giggled holding up ‘keeping up with the kardashions season one and two’
her eyebrows shot up in surprise as she saw what you were holding, followed by a loud snort of laughter. “I forgot I even owned those!” she exclaimed, shaking her head in disbelief. “damn, I can’t believe you want to watch that garbage.”
despite her words, her tone was amused and she was clearly not against watching it with you. you gave her a scoff as you opened the case “then why did you buy it?!”She chuckled again, looking a little sheepish as she fumbled for a response. “i don’t know, i think i was just really bored one day and wanted something to mock.”
she shifted a bit closer to you, the joint hanging loosely from her lips as she spoke. “but hey, if you want to watch it, I’m down. it’ll be hilarious when we’re stoned.” “hells yeah it will babe” you said as you wiped the dvd off on your shirt. chloe chuckled in agreement, taking a quick hit from the joint before passing it to you. “okay then, let’s do this.”
she took the dvd from your hands and put it in the player, then settled back against the pillows next to you. “ready to watch a bunch of rich assholes be ridiculous?” she smirked. “absolutely.” with the dvd playing and the joint being passed back and forth between you, the room began to fill with a hazy cloud of smoke.
chloe chuckled as the show began, rolling her eyes at the antics on the screen. “jesus christ, these people have no shame.” she commented, shaking her head. you took a deep inhale and then exhaled coughing a bit. “have you seen kim’s sex tape?” she snickered at your question, taking the joint to take a hit herself. “who hasn’t at this point?” she retorted with a smirk, shaking her head in disbelief.
“but yeah, it’s something I wish I could un-see, to be honest.” “eh.. it was pretty tame.” you shrugged. “i definitely noticed that molly jaw twitch kim had.” you chuckled. “tame or not, it was still cringey as hell.” she chuckled. “and yeah, I remember that too. chick was definitely high off something.”
she passed the joint back to you, her gaze returning to the tv where kim and her sisters were arguing about something or other. “when is straight porn not cringey?” you took the joint back and inhaled “good point.” she conceded with a smirk, watching as you took a hit. “i never understood the appeal of it, to be honest. give me a girl on girl scene any day over that crap.” you gave her a quick nod of agreement “oh yeah. or just solo content. it’s way better.” you shrugged. she chuckled, nodding her agreement as she reached forward to grab the tv remote and turn up the volume. “damn right. Nothing better than watching a girl get herself off.
“yeah?” you turn to look at her, a curious look on your face.
her gaze flicked over to you, a sly smirk on her face as she noticed the slight change in your tone. her eyes visibly switched as she replied, you had her attention now. her voice lowering just a fraction.
“yeah."
“is that a request?” you passed her back the joint. a low, rumbling chuckle left her lips as she took the joint from you and took another hit. "depends." she said, her tone deliberately baiting.
"are you offering?"
your eyes glanced down over her before coming back to her face. “for you? always.” you were always eager to please her yes, but you also liked to please you. something you and chloe had in common. her smirk grew even wider at your response, her blue eyes darkened with a mixture of lust and affection.
"good answer." she said, her voice a low, silky murmur. She passed the joint back to you, her other hand already straying to run over your thigh, squeezing it gently.
"prove it hotstuff."
“you’re on babe.” you playfully rolled your eyes grinning and sat up to remove what little clothes you had on and sat back with your thighs spread as the show played in the background. your pretty brown/pink pussy already slick just from being around her, plus the weed. her gaze slowly raked up and down the newly exposed flesh, her green eyes darkening further as they took in every inch of you. she bit her lip, clearly appreciating every curve of your body.
she moved even closer to you, her hands roaming freely over your skin as she watched you hungrily. "jesus babe… you’re a work of fucking art. could look at you all day." she murmured, her voice thick with desire. “i know.” you teased as you gently drew circles on your swollen clit and just felt yourself up gathering the wetness. “fuck.. look at that.” you laughed as you spread your middle and index finger seeing just how wet you were. her eyes darkened even further at the sight of you playing with yourself, her breaths coming just a little more ragged than before. “you’re killing me y/n.”
“good.” you giggled as you kept moving your fingers slowly. up, down, around circling. letting out little sounds here and there she couldn't tear her eyes away from watching you touch yourself, her breaths coming out in little pants as her own arousal grew.
"you can't just make those noises and expect me not to kiss you stupid." she breathed, leaning over to capture your lips in a hungry, messy kiss. you giggled against her lips and gave the same effort into the kiss before focusing back on yourself. chloe tried to follow you down as you refocused on yourself, a small whine leaving her lips as she nipped at your neck in search of more kisses.
"you’re so damn hot." she muttered, her hands still roaming over your body, lingering at various spots as if she couldn't decide where she wanted to touch most. “thankyou you have good taste.” you said before inhaling sharply as you put one, then two fingers in "damn right." she agreed, her eyes fixed on the action between your legs. she shifted closer again, her hand slipping along the inside of your thigh, making a small needy sound as she watched.
“want some help there, princess?" she murmured, her tone suggestive.
nuh uh. you said you wanna watch me get myself off.” i teased.
hearing your girlfriends huff you rolled your eyes. she was so greedy. so cute. “here.” you pulled your fingers out putting them to her mouth offering. her eyes darkened even further, a small shiver running through her at your words and the sight of your fingers coming to her mouth.
“you’re a goddamn tease, you know that?" she grumbled.
without further prompting, she parted her lips, wrapping them around your fingers with a little moan as she began to suck on them. “you wanted this. no take backsies.” you chuckled and once she got your fingers wet you took them out and put them back in your cunt. she let out a small whine of frustration as you took your fingers back from her mouth, her eyes following them as they returned to your cunt.
she watched you silently, her breathing coming in soft, ragged pants that told you how turned on she was.
“god damn, you're really just going for it, huh?" she said with an exhale of laughter, shifting a little closer to you once again."don’t think I'm gonna be able to keep myself from touching you for too long babe."
you grinned at her letting out another giggle. “well too bad.”
she mock-scowled at you, feigning annoyance with a small pout of her lips before giving up the act with a low rumble of a chuckle.
"you’re mean, you know that babe?" she muttered, shifting ever closer to you again. “uh huh.” chloe loved saying that when you didn’t give her what she wanted, when you were such a tease. you’re killing her. you let out a whimper as you moved your fingers inside you. your pretty pussy happily taking your own fingers. chloe took a shuddering breath as she continued to watch you, her hands now clenched into tight fists as she fought to keep herself from just pouncing on you.
"fuckin hell, you're like unreal." she swore softly, her blue puppy eyes pouty with need.
“please let me touch you." she tried again.
“no.” you playfully nudged her away with your knee. you were having so much fun. her expression twisted into one of mock-anguish, a small whine escaping her lips. "you’re goddamn cruel." she said, her voice filled with fake hurt. "you’re mean and cruel and I don't know why I put up with you."
“you love me- ah!” you cut your own self off as you found that spot.” “yeah yeah.” she grumbled, her tone sulky. she couldn’t help her sound at your little moan though, her hands still fisted tightly at her sides to keep from touching you.
"you're making my life so damn difficult right now, you know that hotstuff?"
“you’re the one who wanted this.” you took your fingers out holding them out to her. she huffed in feigned annoyance, but the way her eyes lit up and she licked her lips as you offered your fingers to her betrayed just how turned on she was.
she leaned forward, taking your fingers into her mouth once again, her tongue swirling around them to lick up your juices as if she was starving for it. “good girl.” you giggled. knowing what those two words did to her. both of you having raging praise kinks. she shot you a mock-scowl of annoyance at the tone of your voice, but her reaction was betrayed by the way a little shiver ran through her at your words.
she took your fingers from her mouth, releasing them with a lewd pop before mumbling under her breath.
"fuck you.”
“yeah you’re mad you’re not doing that right now.” you managed to be smug even as you were literally making yourself tremble right now. you loved chloe being your audience and fucking with her was fun.
"yeah. damn right i am." she conceded with a huff, leaning back against the pillows for a moment and folding her arms sullenly like a pouting child.
however, it didn’t take long for her expression to soften as she watched you again, the desire once more taking over, your moans getting more frequent, your breathing heavy as you moved your fingers faster, now with a mission. it was clear that watching you was affecting chloe a lot. her breaths came heavier than before, her hands clenching and unclenching. she bit her lip, her eyes pouty with need as she moved even closer to you again, nearly closing the distance.
"please.” she murmured, her voice a desperate plea. "let me touch you. i need to fuckin touch you."
you looked at her through your dazed eyes. “fine babe.” you decided to give her something and guided her hand to your tits with your free hand. your brown/pink nipples hardened and begging for some love. her breathing hitched as her hand met the soft flesh of your chest, her long, slender fingers immediately beginning to work their magic on your tits. "god, you're perfect." she breathed, her voice little more than a ragged whisper as she began to caress and squeeze your flesh. you whimpered at the praise, your pussy clenching around your fingers at both of the sensations combined.
chloe watched you keenly as she played with you. pinching your nipples between her fingers, drawing more pretty sounds from you, her gaze hungry and intense. she knew exactly what she was doing, her hands and fingers touching and caressing in all the right ways, as if she knew the map of your body better than anyone. “atta girl.” you kept moaning until you made a high pitched sound before you sat up suddenly “chloe.. i wanna cum on your face.” her eyes widened at your words, her breath catching in her throat as they sank in. Her face lit up in a mixture of surprise, lust, and eagerness as she nodded at your request.
"yeah, yeah, yes, please."
you wasted no time when she laid down and crawled over and put one leg over her neck so i was up on my knees with her face right under me hovering. you picked up where i left off continuing to fuck my own cunt above her. “fuckk yes.”She let out a little moan of excitement as you moved into the new position, her hands already coming to your hips to encourage you further. chloe looked up at you, her pupils dilated and gaze submissive.
"god, you're so pretty." she murmured, her voice low and husky. "hurry up and give it to me."
“shuttup and take it.”
you grinned as you rubbed your clit harder, “oh god.. oh fuck..” she looked as if she’d try to mutter a reply, perhaps to call you an asshole, but words seemed to die in her throat. Instead, she just nodded, her words coming in an exhale of anticipation.
"mm-hm."
her hands gave your hips an encouraging squeeze as she eagerly waited for you to keep going. your breathing came in short gasps as i was close, if chloe wasn’t helping me stay up img knees would be trembling. “mmmh… yeah. gonna cum all over your pretty face chlo.. you want that?” you said through gritted teeth. breaths grew faster and more ragged in anticipation as she listened to you speak, her eyes fixed on you with an intensity that was almost unnerving.
“yeah, yeah. I fu- i need it. c’mon babe.. give it to me.” her words were pleading, desperate. she was so pathetic for you. just how up liked her. "please, i’ve been so damn good for you, just give me this one thing."
“yeah. uh-huh.. ohh shit chloe-” you whined as you rubbed your clit harder as you kept myself right above her mouth. “fucking-” you cried out as that heavenly feeling took over you and chloe got a shower of you. your fluids squirting all over her mouth and face and some down her chin and neck as you kept rubbing your clit riding that high you had been craving. your moans filling the room. she let out a small gasp as your juices spraying all on her face, her eyes fluttering shut in pleasure at the sensation. her hands tightened on your hips, holding you in place as she eagerly continued to drink you in, her tongue darting out to lick up as much of you as she could,
“christ.. yeah..” chloe was in heaven right now. you had her wrapped around your finger and you knew it. you slowly rode it out, once you were truly done and spent you caught your breath before looking down at her. she looked completely ruined underneath you, her face glistening with your juices, her eyes half-lidded and hazy with pleasure as her breathing came heavy. her grip on your hips loosened, and a small shudder ran through her body. "fuck..." she gasped, her voice ragged and wrecked. "you’re fucking insane..” her tongue darted out to lick at her lips, as if to savor every bit of you that she could, before she spoke again, her voice still ragged, still desperate. “please get down here,” she gasped, her words more of a plea than a demand. “i need to kiss you. i need to hold you. now.” you let out a breathless chuckle. how could you deny her that? “you got it chlo.” you backed up off her face and laid down on top of her instead.
your lips collided, the taste of your cum all over her mouth. her arms immediately wrapped around you as you landed on top of her, her hands desperate as they pulled you close, as if she was afraid you would disappear if she didn't hold onto you tightly enough.
her lips were warm and soft against yours, her kiss insistent and hungry as her tongue slipped against your own, tasting every part of you. once the kiss slowly subsided, she pulled back just enough to speak, but she kept you close, her arms still wrapped firmly around you. "i think…" she said, her voice still breathless and slightly rough, "i think that was the first time I’ve actually been that close to death. just by how insanely good it felt." you smiled at her. “yeah?” you ran your fingers through her blue hair, she hummed, closing her eyes for a moment to relish the feel of your fingers in her hair, her expression almost like a cat being petted. “of course.” she agreed laughing. “you nearly killed me.”
she gave a mock pout, though the effect was completely ruined by the pleased, almost smug expression on her face. “mm. sorry i almost drowned you.” you joked. “that was so good..” you sighed. chloe chuckled, opening her eyes again to look at you with an affectionate smile, her hand coming up to brush a few strands of hair away from your face. “hella worth it.” she said with mock-sincerity. “what a way to go, y’know?”“jeez.” you sat up still grinning and let her sit up too. she followed you, sitting up and letting you get comfortable. She was still a mess, her face and hair completely disheveled and glistening with you but she didn’t seem to care.
chloe took a moment to admire you, her eyes taking in your bare chest, roaming over exposed skin. she was completely transfixed. “here babe.” you gave her a stray towel under the pillow to wipe her neck and chin. her gaze broke from yours for a moment when you handed her the towel, taking it gratefully and using it to dab and clean her neck and chin.
she mumbled a soft ‘thanks’ under her breath, seemingly too dazed to speak much. She looked like she still needed a moment to come down from her high. “you good?” she gave a somewhat shaky nod, using the towel to wipe her face down and neck once more before tossing it aside carelessly. "yeah, yeah. just.. wow." her eyes roamed over your body again. "you looked so damn good up there, i think i almost forgot how to breathe for a minute." “aw. thanks babe.” you smiled at her shrugging, as if you didn’t just blow her mind “no, thank you.” she replied, her voice still breathless full of amusement and awe.
“you’re welcome.” she shifted closer to you again, her hand coming up to gently cup your cheek as her eyes roamed over you, almost as if she was cataloguing every detail and feature of your body. the kardashians menu screen kept replaying as you two had damn sure forgot about it. who knew you bringing up kim’s sex tape lead to you squirting in chloe’s mouth? chloes eyes flicked over to the tv screen as the kardashions credits looped again, a little flicker of irritation running across her face at the reminder of the existence of those rich, self-obsessed nobodies. "ugh. can’t believe this is the crap i’ve been letting you watch." she muttered under her breath, before quickly shaking her head and returning her gaze to you. “whatever.” you giggled. “you want me to roll up again?” “you read my mind hotstuff.” she joked, looking very pleased.
“you deserve it.” you gave her a kiss before rolling over to put your clothes back on. chloe staring at you the entire time. “damn right i do.” both of you spent the rest of the night smoking another blunt, watching snobby reality tv talking about whatever bullshit came to your faded minds, munching out and falling asleep together in each others arms at 4am. these kind of date nights were definitely your favourite.

a bond like theirs
day 4 of @bucktommyfluffebruary hot and ready! our boys deserve to cling! maddie's pov, post-getting back together and a surprise appearance by the buckley parents - no angst, i promise!
rated G | words also on AO3
It’s not that she wasn’t happy with the wedding day she had had.
Not at all - Maddie Buckley-Han was very very happy with her wedding day. Not only had Howie been brought back to her safe and sound, but they also hadn’t had to wait to get married - they had not been ready to wait. But, standing in a beautiful room filled with their friends and family, she was happy to have this too.
For their anniversary, Margaret and Philip Buckley had joined the Hans and the Lees to give them a do-over reception. There were no words to describe how thankful they were but they tried.
Maddie was wearing a white dress, a lacy thing reminiscent of her wedding dress but less nuptial while Howie wore his actual wedding suit, for the first time. They had recited their vows in front of everyone as they would have done on the day. There was food, dancing, laughter and, of course, alcohol.
The Lees are calling it a night, Mr. Lee having enjoyed a little too much of the open bar. Howie’s dad had left after their vows, explaining that he had a plane to catch early in the morning.
Maddie’s parents, however, are still very much present and looking.
She doesn’t need to follow their gaze to know exactly what they are looking at. She knows that Tommy and Buck are dancing. There is a slow song playing and they are swaying on the dance floor surrounded by other couples. Buck’s arms are around his boyfriend’s shoulders, their foreheads touching and Tommy has his arms around her brother’s waist.
It’s sweet.
They have been inseparable the whole night. Longer than that, even.
From sitting plastered to each other on the front row, to feeding each other during appetisers and the constant touching and hand holding. It looked like torture when they had to detach from one another, for whatever reason.
It felt like torture to see their displeased expressions when the other wasn’t around.
“You know,” Howie had commented after the fourth time the couple had struggled to eat their food with only one hand. “You are right next to one another, you can let go of each other’s hands.”
Buck had stuck out his tongue at his brother-in-law and continued to struggle with his steak.
“Maybe he’s right.” Tommy had very reluctantly agreed, a deep frown on his forehead.
She had been able to see her brother wanting to protest, to whine about it but sighed at the latest poor attempt with his fork. “Fine.”
The two had grudgingly disengaged, using both hands to grab hold of the cutlery.
“Was that so hard?” Howie had teased, laughing at the unamused looks from the couple.
Eddie had appeared then, either hand on the backs of Evan and Tommy’s chairs, a shit-eating grin on his face. “For your information, their legs are tangled under the table.”
Maddie had groaned good-naturedly with her husband and laughed, while the couple in front of them blushed bright but shrugged, uncaring.
They understood though. They all teased and joked but they understood. The breakup had been rough on them. So, when they became inseparable after getting back together two months ago, they let them be as disgustingly sweet as they wanted.
Maddie had assumed it would get better with time and had frowned when Hen had laughed at that. Maybe she had known it all along, her constant knowing look certainly said so.
The music changes and the couple disappears for a moment. Maddie decides to mingle, ignoring her parents’ looks and enjoying her wedding day. Again.
She shares a fast-paced song with her husband and daughter. Watches Howie share a dance with Jee, her small feet on top of her father’s. Shares a round of shots with Hen, Karen and Athena. Dances with Josh. Kisses her husband when he saves her the last crostini and again, just because.
Her parents are looking again.
She hears Howie laugh and decides to follow the sound, letting out a guffaw of her own. Tommy has the happiest grin on his face as he carries Evan around on his back, Jee and Mara pulling on Buck’s feet as if they are extra luggage for the pilot to carry.
Maddie has never taken a photo so fast. More like a ten but she has to make sure at least one captures the look of peaceful happiness on her brother’s face as he nuzzles his boyfriend’s neck, as Tommy nuzzles back as best he can.
Margaret Buckley scoffs. Maddie doesn’t ignore it this time.
“What is it, Mom?”
Her mother presses her lips together, glancing between the happy couple, her husband and her daughter. Maddie takes a deep breath, preparing herself for a comment.
“I just don’t understand.”
“Marge-”
She interrupts her father. “What is there to understand, Mom? They’re in love.”
Her mother scoffs again and the sound is so ridiculous on her that Maddie finally notices the handful of wine glasses in front of her mother. Oh, this could either be the best or worst thing ever.
“Marge, don’t.” Her father, with only two glasses in front of him, tries to take hold of her mother’s wrist.
“No, Philip,” Releasing her wrist almost causes Margaret to fall out of her chair but catches herself on the table at the last minute. “This isn’t right.”
Maddie places her hands on her hips, ready to fight her drunk mother on her wedding day redo for her brother’s relationship, if it comes to that.
“Mom, I can’t belie-”
“There isn’t a ring on your brother’s finger, Maddie!” Her mother bursts out, shocking her into silence.
“What are…What?!”
Philip sighs as if he’s heard this conversation before and rubs his forehead. Maddie is confused and thankful for the loud music, keeping this between them.
“They have been together for a while.” Her father says as if it means something.
She is so confused.
“And Tommy hasn’t proposed? Look at them, it’s ridiculous!” Her mother continues, gesturing emphatically.
Maddie puts herself in front of her mother, keeping her out of the others’ field of vision. “T-They have time, Mom,” This was not how she thought this conversation was going to go. “I mean, they got back together two months ago, they should wait before they make big decisions like that.”
“What?” It’s Philip’s turn to be surprised.
“They broke up?” Margaret looks like she’s on the verge of tears.
What the hell is happening?
“Uh, yeah, Buck asked Tommy to move in but he said it the wrong way and Tommy got scared and broke up with him,” Maddie explains and yet she is still so confused. “They got back together after Tommy almost died in a helicopter crash.”
They both gasp dramatically and Maddie finds some of her footing.
“We didn’t know,” Her mother frowns and holds her father’s hand. “We need to listen more.”
“That’s what the therapist keeps saying.” Her father nods sagely and, maybe, the waiters have already lifted some of his empty glasses.
“Right, well,” Maddie brings their attention back to her and can’t stop herself from smiling. “You can do that when you’re sober. Tomorrow. For now, let’s just enjoy my wedding day. Again.” She giggles and her mother smiles brightly. Evan has the same smile.
“This is all so beautiful, Maddie.” Her father gushes.
“And they look so good together, don’t they?” They all turn to watch as Tommy converses casually with Eddie while Buck leans his head on his shoulder, their fingers locked at their side. “Maybe we should start saving up for their wedding, Phil.”
Maddie smiles amused and nods. “I think that’s a good idea, I’m sure it won’t be long.”
Buck finds her eyes and frowns concerned but she just smiles and shakes her head. Her brother relaxes even further when Tommy drops a quick kiss on his head before continuing his conversation. She swears there are literal hearts in Buck’s eyes as he nuzzles his future husband.
Yeah, it won’t be long. She would put money on it.
Don’t tell Hen.
Who’s she kidding? Hen probably already has a pool going.

Love Never Dies- Thoughts and Reactions
This might end up being split into multiple parts but I am not finished talking about Love Never Dies. I did give it a rewatch to refresh myself and...oof. This play needs to be taken out back and shot because that is what it did to every single character in it. NO ONE looks good. Not even Christine. Let's start there. Let's talk about what this show does with Christine because we have completely reduced this character to nothing but her voice. What does Erik miss about Christine after ten years of pining? Her voice. He just wants her to sing for him one more time. The only thing he ever really mentions about Christine is her voice. Though I can't really fault him because if we're being serious about Christine's character...
Tumblr media
What does she have outside of her voice? Nothing. Somehow LND Christine has even less personality than she did in the OG musical. She is a cardboard angel that other people pine over, try to control, or envy. She has almost no agency. I said before, I suspect that Andrew Lloyd Webber hates women and Christine does not come out of that unscathed. She spends pretty much all of the musical being bullied by Raoul, mothering Gustave, or being threatened by Erik when he and she aren't reminiscing about that one time they banged 10 years ago. Seriously what even the fuck was "Beneath a Moonless Sky?" For a song about how two characters couldn't resist each other neither of them seem particularly filled with desire. Christine is recoiling in horror and disbelief and Erik looks like a 15 year old who thinks sniffing his crush's hair is peak sensuality.
Tumblr media
Mmmm....sexy. But whatever. Christine says at the end of the song she woke up to swear her love and was ready to dump Raoul but Erik had skedaddled so she ran back to Raoul. You read that right. Christine was going to pick Erik after they banged it out and he left and that is the only reason Christine is with Raoul. Seriously Andy? You're going to make her regret picking Raoul over Erik when she didn't even actually DO that? Erik made the choice for her?
Tumblr media
*internal screaming* Erik, seriously, how are you going to be upset that she's moved on with Raoul if YOU left HER? Do you really think you have the right to coerce her to sing for you one more time when you were the one who broke it off? The hell is wrong with you? Of course when Christine resists he immediately goes to threatening her child.
Tumblr media
When I say Erik is the WORST I mean it. He is reprehensible in this.
But this is about Christine. We'll get to Erik later. LND Erik deserves his own post.
There's honestly not much more to write about Christine. She spends a lot of time cowering from or trying to appease Raoul. She worries about her son and her death is honestly so unwarranted. When I say ALW's work has an undercurrent of meanspiritedness I mean shit like this. Christine hasn't really done anything wrong. I guess she cheated on Raoul 10 years ago? But well she was going to leave him and only stayed because her first option bailed on her? She didn't do anything to Meg. She's been living 10 years in an abusive marriage and her crazy ex who kidnapped her came back to threaten her kid and coerce her to sing his music one more time. Then she just...gets shot. She dies. It adds nothing to the story that she dies. It doesn't feel earned or justified in anyway. It just feels miserable for misery's sake. It's almost unceremonious the way they ax her off because it's not even intentional. Meg misfires the gun because Erik fucks up in trying to talk her down. Christine's death isn't even about Christine herself. It's about Meg and Erik. It's such a useless and stupid death to give this character. How old even is she? Supposedly she's around 18-20 in the original musical (we're ignoring the 2004 movie that puts her at 16) and this is 10 years later? She's barely 30 but she ends up a casualty to everyone else's vanity, jealousy, and selfishness. I feel like we're supposed to find it tragic but it doesn't hit. It's a meaningless and undignified end to a character that was given no agency over her own life or her death.

4 days with Ren!- Ren x G.N Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Clickbait Titl-….!!!
Words:8000
Genre: Fluff
Summary: — you encounter Ren, a seemingly shy and awkward stranger who enters your bookstore. At first, his nervousness and fumbling words leave you uncertain about his intentions, but as the interaction progresses, you begin to notice subtle, yet familiar traits about him. His nervousness, his playful yet shy demeanor, and the blue eyes all hint at something deeper, but it isn’t until later that you realize the truth—
( Reader is a g.n!)
EXTRA: Let me know if I continue this! This is kind of a heart-felt shit so don’t worry.
Reader can be a idiot at times, Since we don’t know Ren’s real name. His real name is taken as [REDACTED]
I’m sorry for the delay! I scarped this so many times, I really started to feel stressed about this..
“Eh? You… wanna marry me…?”
The memory was hazy, but vivid enough to make your heart flutter even now. It had happened when you were both just kids, playing together on the playground like any other day.
[REDACTED] had tugged at your hand with uncharacteristic urgency, his dark hair falling messily into his wide, nervous eyes. He told you he had something important to say.
Then, out of nowhere, he dropped to one knee before you. His small, trembling hands held up a ring—crafted clumsily from what looked like tin foil, the kind of thing only a child would painstakingly make. The other ring sat snugly on his own finger.
Your heart skipped a beat as you stared at him. His earnest expression, the slight shake in his voice, the sincerity in his gesture—it was all too much. Your cheeks burned as you cupped them instinctively, trying to hide the blush spreading across your face.
He looked so nervous. So hopeful.
Your lips parted to say something—anything—but you froze.
You’d always liked him, hadn’t you? Even then, there had been something about [REDACTED] that made your chest tighten. You didn’t fully understand it back then, but now it was so clear.
Before you could gather your courage to respond, the moment shattered.
“Hey! What’re you doing to them?!”
Leon, ever the self-appointed protector, charged onto the scene. With one swift motion, he smacked the little ring out of [REDACTED]’s hand, sending it tumbling into the dirt.
The entire playground fell silent.
“Don’t worry!” Leon declared loudly, puffing out his chest. “I’ll protect you from weirdos like him!”
Your heart dropped as you saw the way [REDACTED] flinched. His hands hovered where the ring had been, his gaze darting to you for reassurance.
“But, Leon…” you started quietly, the protest barely leaving your lips.
It was too late. [REDACTED] scrambled to pick up the ruined ring, his shoulders shaking as he clutched it tightly. Tears streaked down his cheeks, but he didn’t say a word.
He turned and fled, his quiet sobs fading into the distance, you stood frozen, guilt twisting in your stomach. You wanted to chase after him, to tell him it was okay, that you didn’t care about Leon’s interruption or the rumors about his family. You didn’t care about anything except the fact that he had been brave enough to bare his heart to you.
But you didn’t. You let him walk away.
All you could do was watch his retreating figure and whisper softly to yourself, too late for him to hear:
“I would ve said yes…”
“But Leon!” you repeated, louder this time, frustration bubbling up as you watched [REDACTED] disappear.
“What?” Leon shot back, his arms crossed defiantly. “I just saved you! That guy’s weird, and you shouldn’t hang out with him!”
“You’re so mean!” you snapped, stomping your foot. “He wasn’t doing anything wrong! He just wanted to—” You stopped yourself, suddenly feeling too vulnerable to explain. “You’re always ruining everything!”
Leon puffed up like an offended balloon. “I’m not ruining anything! I’m protecting you, dummy!”
“I don’t need protecting!” you shouted, tears pricking at your eyes. “You’re just a big, mean bully!”
Leon’s cheeks flushed pink as he huffed and looked away, his pout making him look even more childish. “Fine, do whatever you want! But don’t blame me when that weirdo does something weird!”
You narrowed your eyes at him, crossing your arms in a perfect mirror of his stubborn stance. “I will do what I want! And stop calling him weird!”
“Whatever,” he grumbled, kicking a pebble with his shoe. After a moment, his voice softened. “But I’m still gonna keep an eye on him, okay? Just in case.”
You hesitated, then nodded, your earlier anger fading into relief. “Fine. As long as you’re not mean about it.”
Leon gave a reluctant shrug, muttering something under his breath about “always having to be the grown-up.”
It wasn’t until later that you realized how little it mattered. Days passed, then weeks, but [REDACTED] never came to see you again.
At first, you waited eagerly, sitting on the swings after school, hoping he’d show up like he always did. But he didn’t. You told yourself he was just busy, that he’d come by soon.
But he didn’t.
Maybe he was avoiding you. Or maybe it was his family. The whispers about them had only gotten worse. You’d overheard adults saying things they thought kids couldn’t understand. Things that made your chest ache and your fists clench.
You waited until the hope in your heart shrank into something fragile and brittle. Until you couldn’t hold it anymore, and one day, you cried. You cried because you missed him. Because you couldn’t fix whatever had gone wrong. Because you never got to tell him how much he meant to you.
And [REDACTED]—he was out there somewhere. Maybe he wanted to come back. Maybe he didn’t. You didn’t know.
All you knew was that the boy with the messy black hair and the trembling hands had slipped away from your life.
And even though you were just a kid, you felt like you’d lost something you might never get back.
You remembered again..Didn’t you?
Stifling a groan with the rim of your coffee cup, you fumbled for the remote wedged between the couch cushions and turned off the TV.
There was no way you were letting some grim headline ruin the start of your morning—especially not today. Today marked your first day back at work since earning that hard-fought promotion.
Sure, working at a library, organizing and sorting through shelves of books, wasn’t exactly the dream job you’d envisioned growing up. It wasn’t even close to the top of your list when you decided to move back.
But the pay was good, your coworkers were warm and welcoming, and the library’s location couldn’t have been more convenient—just a short walk from your apartment.
And on the way, there was this cozy little bakery that served the best shortcakes and croissants you’d ever tasted.
You sipped your coffee with a soft smile, thinking briefly about how much [REDACTED] would’ve loved that bakery.
It was a fleeting thought, but one that lingered, curling in the back of your mind like the steam from your mug.
Why was it still so easy to think about him?
Even now, after all this time, you couldn’t shake the feeling of unfinished business. Regret? Guilt? Maybe a little of both. You’d wanted to give him a chance back then. You really did. But life had gotten in the way. Or maybe it wasn’t life.
Maybe it was you.
You swallowed hard, setting the cup down on the table with a soft clink. Maybe you were the problem. Maybe he’d moved on, forgotten all about the mess you’d left behind.
And yet, the thought of him still made your chest ache. You wondered what he was doing now, where he was, if he still remembered you too.
Maybe… just maybe… you’d see him again.
It still beats living in the city, though. Honestly… you weren’t even sure why you left your hometown in the first place.
The fast-paced, hustle-and-bustle lifestyle of the city just wasn’t what you longed for when staring out your window on sleepless nights. The people there were always rude and indifferent, making you feel like a stranger in a crowd.
It was nothing like Corland Bay. There, everyone felt like a close-knit family, and the air smelled of salt and sea rather than car exhaust and pollution.
Sure, the local crime rate had been creeping up lately, and there weren’t as many exciting places to visit, but that didn’t bother you much. Your new job kept you busy, and you’d take a quiet evening alone at the beach over a night in a crowded, shady bar with people you barely considered friends. In fact—
bzzt bzzt!
Setting your mug on the table, you reached into your pocket and pulled out your phone. A notification from Moth, your online friend, lit up the screen. Their username always brought a small smile to your face.
Tapping the screen, you opened the message to find an adorable sticker of some anime character giving a thumbs up, accompanied by a short, cheerful note:
“Good luck today!”
Moth had always been adamant about showing their endless support for you. Even after five years of friendship—filled with cursed memes, late-night video calls, and discussions about the most random topics—they never failed to brighten your day.
And even though you would never admit it out loud, you were truly grateful to have someone like Moth in your life.
Pulling up the keyboard, you began to type a response to their message.
…How will you respond?
It really was considerate of them to send this message—especially given the contrasting time zones—so you decided to send back a quick:
“Thank you! :)”
Moth “btwww! did u see the latest AoG ep?? i heard Haruko got an outfit change!!!!”
Moth “spoil it for me. did he really change his hairstyle as well?”
Moth “or was it really just his sorceror outfit?”
Attack on Giants—or “AoG,” as Moth liked to call it—was a popular anime series you and they had recently become obsessed with. Haruko, one of the main characters, was a sorcerer known for his shy and airheaded demeanor. Lately, his hairstyle had sparked debate in the fandom, and Moth was clearly eager to discuss it.
Now that you thought about it… what hairstyle did Haruko have in the latest episode?
Moth “cuz it’s like… almost 9:30 where you are rn”
Moth “right???? or am i just dumb and got the time zones mixed up again lol”
Glancing at the time displayed on your phone, your eyes widened in alarm. It was 9:30—nearly time for work. Letting out a string of curses, you leapt to your feet, nearly knocking over your coffee in the process.
Cursing under your breath, you toss your phone onto the couch and rush to your bedroom. Work wasn’t going to wait for you, and you’d already pushed your luck with timing this week. But as you throw open your closet, your fingers linger over your usual outfits. Today didn’t feel like a typical day—why not switch it up a bit?
Your eyes dart to the newer pieces you’d been collecting lately, leaning heavily into an emo-gothic vibe. You’ve been obsessing over the style lately, and while it wasn’t your usual go-to, the mix of dark tones and edgy accents had been calling your name.
It wasn’t like anyone at work would say much—libraries weren’t exactly fashion runways, after all. And besides… the idea of blending the “softie” energy you adored with a bad-boy edge gave you an odd sense of satisfaction.
Pulling together your outfit, you settle on:
A loose, oversized black sweater with slightly distressed hems, layered over a plain dark-gray shirt for texture. Slim-fit black pants with subtle zipper and chain details that didn’t scream “rebellion” but hinted at it. Chunky platform sneakers that added just enough height to feel bold without overdoing it. To tie it all together, you add a choker with a small pendant and a pair of simple silver rings. You glance at yourself in the mirror, adjusting the choker slightly and ruffling your hair for a casual, messy look. Softie lover with a bad-boy phase? Yeah, that checked out. With a small laugh, you grab your bag, sling it over your shoulder, and head for the door.
You lock up and start walking to work, you feel a small thrill of confidence creeping in. The outfit wasn’t just a look—it was a mood. And today, you were determined to make it through with your head held high.
“Seriously… When will that lazy bum of a landlord do something about this?” you mutter, fiddling with the stubborn lock on your apartment door.
You wiggle the key again, sighing in frustration. “I swear I’ve complained about this at least four times this month…”
“Hey there! Looking good!”
You turn to see Violet, your ever-cheerful neighbor, practically glowing as she juggles her apartment key in one hand and balances yet another potted plant on her hip with the other.
Resting on her hip was, indeed, another plant. You can’t help but wonder where on earth she was going to put it this time. Her balcony was already a mini rainforest, brimming with lush greenery and various flora. At this point, you’re almost convinced she’s converted her whole apartment into a greenhouse.
Not that you’re complaining—her plants do a fantastic job of masking the occasional smell of smoke or burnt food that wafts out when you attempt to cook. The floral, earthy aroma is a blessing in disguise.
“Love the shoes, by the way! The color reeeeally compliments your aura this morning,” Violet gushes, beaming at you.
A small laugh escapes you as you glance down at your platform sneakers. “Thanks, Violet.”
“You’ll have to let me peek inside your closet someday,” she says, winking. “I’ve been looking for some new inspiration lately. Especially with winter right around the corner… Ahh, I’m getting excited just thinking about it!”
Her enthusiasm is contagious, and you find yourself smiling despite your earlier frustration with the lock.
“Oh! But back to you!” Violet’s voice pulls you out of your thoughts, her growing smile as bright as ever.
“Yeah, it’s nice to see you too!” Violet chirps, her smile never faltering. “I’d usually still be at the flower shop at this time, so it’s nice to finally be able to catch up with you like this—especially when our schedules align!”
She adjusts the potted plant on her hip before adding, “Speaking of! You should stop by my place the next time you’re free. I’d love to introduce you to this little guy’s family.”
You glance at the plant she’s holding, raising an eyebrow at the thought of meeting its “family.” Before you can say anything, Violet’s eyes light up, and she leans closer.
“Oh, I almost forgot! I’ve been meaning to ask you this, but… When were you going to tell me that you were seeing someone?”
You blink, thrown off by the sudden topic change. “What?”
“C’mon! Don’t act like you didn’t just have a guy over last night. I saw him leaving when I took Cathy out for a walk.”
For a moment, your brain stalls. The fact that Violet takes her plants—her named plants—out for nighttime strolls is peculiar enough, but the idea of someone leaving your apartment completely derails your thoughts.
You shoot Violet a concerned look, and she immediately picks up on it.
“You… don’t remember? Don’t tell me you were drunk or something!”
She lets out a huff, abandoning her attempt to unlock her own stubborn door. Setting the plant down carefully, she saunters over to you, her expression a mix of curiosity and mischief.
“Tall guy? Wearing a dark slasher hoodie? Probably into either alt fashion or bondage with the crazy amount of belts and loops wrapped around his leg?”
Violet tilts her head, eyes narrowing thoughtfully. “Oh, and he had dark black hair. Pretty striking, honestly.”
Her words make your stomach lurch. A memory flashes through your mind—soft laughter, small hands grasping a silver ring, and a promise made in the naivety of childhood. Could it be… him? The boy who disappeared from your life so long ago?
Without thinking, you stammer, “I-It’s my boyfriend!” The words leave your mouth before you can stop them, and your voice cracks just enough to make you cringe inwardly.
Violet blinks, surprised, then smirks knowingly. “Ohhh, really? Your boyfriend, huh? Well, now I definitely need to meet him. You should introduce him sometime.”
You nod frantically, hoping to change the subject. “Y-Yeah, sure, I’ll… I’ll do that.”
She beams, her curiosity seemingly satisfied for now. “Great! Well, I’m off to raid some dungeons in that MMO I told you about. Gotta carry my team, as usual.”
With a giggle, she scoops up her potted plant and waves as she heads back to her apartment. “Later, go with your mystery-dater!”
You wave weakly, watching her retreat. As soon as she’s out of sight, you scratch your head in frustration. “What the hell was that?” you mutter under your breath.
Not all dark-haired guys could possibly be him. What were you even thinking? That kid—the one who gave you that ring, who promised you the world in the way only children could—was nothing more than a distant memory. You haven’t seen him in years. Childhood romance? Seriously? You shake your head, letting out a huff.
Still, the thought lingers longer than it should, tugging at the edges of your mind as you lock your door and finally head off to work.
You shake your head again, groaning as the realization sets in. “God, I’m such an idiot!” You can’t help but say it aloud, even if you’re just talking to yourself. The more you think about it, the dumber it seems.
Why did you even react like that? Just because some guy with dark hair left your apartment, it doesn’t mean it was him. It’s probably just some random guy. You never even saw his face, so why did you feel the need to defend him like that? Just a few words from Violet, and suddenly you’re out here saying it’s your boyfriend. Your boyfriend? Really?
It didn’t help that you got flustered, making the situation even weirder. Your head feels heavy, and you want to slam your palm against your forehead in frustration. You’re staring at the door as though it’s the culprit here, like the very existence of it will somehow make everything less awkward. But deep down, you know that’s not the case.
This is dumb. You’ve known him for how long? The answer is years—and all you’ve got to show for it is a bunch of fragmented memories and a ring that’s gathering dust somewhere. You didn’t even know if that kid—no, that person—is still out there, or if he’s even remotely the same. Yet, here you are, thinking maybe you’ve let some weird twist of fate drop him back into your life in the most awkward way possible.
Exhaling sharply. The room feels suddenly smaller, your thoughts cluttered with questions that don’t have answers. What does this even mean?
“Seriously?” you mutter again, this time with a crying emoji look on your face, as if to signal just how messed up everything has become in the span of a few minutes. You stare at the wall, your mind reeling with the possibilities. Could it be that someone’s been in your house without you knowing?
The idea doesn’t sit well with you at all. You have a pretty strong feeling that you’d notice something off about your apartment. Yet, even as you mentally search for clues, everything seems… normal? You don’t remember anything being out of place, no missing items, no strange smells. Just the same old messy, cozy apartment where you usually keep to yourself.
But what if you missed something?
What if this guy—whoever he is—had been sneaking around your apartment when you weren’t looking? What if he’d been here for more than just that one night, slipping in and out like some shadow, while you thought nothing was amiss? The thought sends a shiver down your spine, your heart racing at the very possibility.
It makes sense, doesn’t it? People break into places all the time, right? Or maybe he didn’t break in—what if he just slipped in? You remember how relaxed you’ve been, how easily you let your guard down after getting used to living alone. You’ve never been paranoid or particularly cautious. Maybe that’s the issue. Maybe you’ve been too comfortable.
The more you think about it, the worse it gets. You try to shake off the thoughts, but they persist, like dark clouds following you no matter where you go. You can’t shake the feeling that something’s wrong, even if you can’t quite put your finger on it.
You don’t know how long you’ve been sitting there when your phone buzzes again, but it startles you enough to snap you out of your spiraling thoughts. You grab it instinctively, desperate for something to take your mind off the wild ideas plaguing you.
The message is from Violet, which only makes you feel more like an idiot. Seriously? Why is she messaging you now?
Violet
“Heyyy! I almost forgot to mention something! I was just thinking… If you’re not busy later, I could swing by and help you with that lock issue. I can’t stand when things like that get in the way, and you’ve been dealing with it for a while, huh?”
You stare at the message, considering it for a second. Help with the lock? You could definitely use some help. You haven’t been able to get it to work properly for ages, and it’s becoming a hassle. But now, you’re not even sure if you want anyone over. Not after what Violet said.
The nagging thought creeps back. What if someone has already been in here? What if they’re waiting for me to slip up again?
You rub your face with your hand, fighting the urge to get paranoid. Stop it. You’re overthinking this, you try to tell yourself, but it doesn’t help. Violet’s just being nice. She doesn’t know anything. You’ve got nothing to hide, right?
Your fingers hover over the keyboard, undecided on whether to reply. You don’t want to sound weird or like you’re flipping out. You’ve barely seen Violet more than a few times when your schedules happen to align. But you can’t deny that there’s something unsettling about this whole situation now.
Maybe you should talk to her. You should’ve just talked to her earlier, told her you’re fine. Instead, you defended someone you don’t even know, let your own stupid reaction make things weird, and now you’re overthinking everything. You let one stupid comment spiral out of control.
You take a deep breath and start typing.
You
“Thanks for the offer, but I’m okay for now. It’s just one of those things, y’know? Maybe next time though!”
You hit send before you can second-guess yourself. Maybe it’s better to leave it at that. Besides, you’ve got enough to handle with work and your apartment, and you’re not sure you’re ready to let someone into your life, especially with all the confusion swirling around.
For now, you’ll deal with it alone.
“Oh!”
She looks surprised for some reason before her expression softens into a warm smile. She tilts her head slightly, beckoning you closer with a subtle nod.
Elanor, one of your co-workers at Corland Bay Library, is one of the few people here who actually gets things done. She’s a bit scatterbrained—infamously so—but she more than makes up for it with her kind and doting attitude toward everyone.
Still, her nurturing personality can feel… overbearing at times, and you’ve learned to step away every now and then just to catch a breather.
“Sooooo?” she starts, her tone light and teasing. “How does it feel to no longer be the one in charge of stacking books all day long?”
Before you can respond, she adds, “Although… You’ll still have to work the front desk from time to time, unfortunately.”
You offer a polite smile, shrugging slightly, before making your way past her. Rounding the corner, you duck down and slide your bag under the desk. You start pulling out your belongings, preparing for the day ahead.
The familiar chime of the library’s front door rings out, signaling that another patron has just entered. You glance toward Elanor briefly, figuring she’s got it all handled. She always does, even with her scatterbrained tendencies.
For now, you focus on getting your things organized, letting the quiet hum of the library settle your earlier frustrations. The bookshelves, the faint scent of paper and ink, the low murmur of distant conversations—this place has always been a refuge, even on your busiest days.
Still, there’s a nagging thought in the back of your mind: the strange conversation with Violet..
Elanor
“Looks like he’s back again.”
Elanor chuckles softly, inclining her head toward the person she’s talking about.
“You know, that new guy. I don’t know when he started showing up here in the Bay, but he always comes in and rents the books you put on the display window.”
Her voice takes on a teasing tone as she continues, “And if I didn’t know any better, I’d say he has a little crush on you.”
She pauses for dramatic effect, adding with a playful grin, “Because he was staring. A lot.”
You snort, rolling your eyes as you push Elanor’s office chair so she’s facing the other way. Without another word, you turn your attention back to the papers in front of you, trying to shake off the heat rising to your cheeks.
What is with everyone today? you think, frustrated. Smiling too much, gossiping, meddling in business that isn’t theirs—it’s like everyone is conspiring to test your patience.
And as if the morning hadn’t been chaotic enough, the thought of a potential intruder still lingers at the back of your mind. It’s a problem your deadbeat landlord probably won’t do anything about, no matter how many complaints you’ve filed.
You sigh heavily. Maybe I should just buy a stronger lock on my way home. Or even an alarm system. But then another thought strikes you: Would the stores even still be open by the time I get off work?
The realization only adds to your frustration, and you rub your temples, trying to will away the tension building in your head.
Elanor
“Would you look at that… Loverboy in aisle 8 needs some help, it seems.”
She nods toward the flashing red light above the bookshelves, the signal for staff assistance.
With a sigh, you reluctantly rise from your chair. Of course, Elanor isn’t going to help him herself, and you already know she’s grinning like a Cheshire cat, thoroughly enjoying your predicament.
Refusing to glance back at her, you begrudgingly head toward aisle 8. You can practically feel the smug energy radiating from behind you as you weave through the shelves.
Turning the corner, you’re met with a broad figure standing with his back to you. He’s wearing what has to be the comfiest cardigan you’ve ever seen. The stranger hasn’t noticed you yet, so you awkwardly clear your throat and shift your weight from one foot to the other.
“Ahem!”
The guy flinches at the sound, startled, before turning around.
“Ah-!”
When he finally faces you, you’re momentarily struck silent. His soft, doe-like eyes and towering height catch you off guard, and you’re left staring for a beat too long.
So this is the guy who always checks out my book recommendations? you wonder. He fits the cosy literature-lover vibe perfectly.
But it’s his pink hair that really throws you off—it immediately reminds you of Haruko, the anime character you’ve been obsessing over with Moth during your late-night video calls. Even the cut and style of his hair look eerily similar.
Is this a coincidence? Or is this hairstyle trending, and I’m just the last person to know?
You take another good look at him, craning your neck slightly to get past the sheer height difference. There’s something else, too—he looks like a near picture-perfect version of the male lead from Always With You, a webcomic you’ve been devouring lately.
Your thoughts spiral into comparisons, imagining this guy as the real-life version of the dreamy love interest from the story.
You’re so lost in your imagination that you don’t notice his sheepish movements until he scratches his jaw, seemingly trying to snap you out of it.
“Woah… You look…”
His quiet murmur barely registers in your distracted mind.
“But I thought you preferred softer clothing…? That’s why I…”
His voice trails off, leaving you blinking as you try to figure out what he’s talking about.
Realizing how spaced out you must seem, he quickly clears his throat, his face tinged with cherry-pink embarrassment.
“Ahem! Um… S-Sorry, I hope I’m not bothering you.”
He shifts on his feet, glancing at the books around him as if searching for a lifeline.
“I was just looking for… Uhh…”
The sound of his voice pulls you back to the present, and you mentally shake yourself out of your daze. The words spilling from his lips tumble out softly, and you can’t help but notice how they match his gentle, uncertain demeanor.
Suddenly, you feel a wave of self-consciousness. What is wrong with me? Pull it together, Y/N!
Your gaze flickers up to his face again, drawn irresistibly to his big blue eyes. They’re impossibly soft, like a watercolor painting, but there’s something hauntingly familiar about them.
And then you see it.
A glint of silver catches your eye—a ring hanging from a delicate chain around his neck. Your breath catches in your throat. That ring. That simple, unassuming band… It couldn’t be, could it?
No, it’s not possible…
A ring. Dangling from a chain.
Your breath hitches.
No… It couldn’t be. But as your eyes dart between the ring and his face, the realization slams into you like a tidal wave.
Those eyes.
The boy.
The boy.
Your legs feel like they might give out as you stare at him, your heart racing faster with every passing second.
It’s him.
But it’s unmistakable. The memories come rushing back, flooding your mind like a tidal wave.
The boy.
The boy from your childhood.
The one who used to run with you through the sun-dappled park. The one who’d promised, with a shy, earnest smile, The one who gave you a ring just like that before vanishing from your life, leaving behind nothing but a bittersweet ache in your heart.
And now here he was, standing right in front of you, wearing the very thing you thought you’d only ever see in your dreams.
You can feel your heart pounding in your chest, the rhythm chaotic and overwhelming. Those eyes—those impossibly blue eyes—stare back at you, still soft and warm, just as you remember.
He’s taller now, broader, more grown-up. But those eyes? Those haven’t changed. Not one bit.
Your mouth opens, but no words come out. Your throat feels tight, your thoughts scrambled. You’re struck between disbelief and certainty.
It’s him. It’s really him.
Your chest tightens as your gaze drops to the ring again—the one on the chain around his neck. And then, lower, to his hand.
A second ring sits snugly on his finger, in the spot where a wedding band would be.
Your mind reels, the pieces clicking together, faster than you can process. Tears threaten to spill as your heart twists painfully in your chest. You’ve found him.
After all these years, you’ve finally found him.
But—what’s with the pink hair?!
You feel like the biggest idiot in the world. Not because you’re suddenly self-conscious about your messy hair or the way your cardigan doesn’t quite match your outfit. Not even because you spent the past five minutes spacing out like an awkward weirdo.
No, you feel like an idiot for not realizing it sooner.
But you weren’t wrong about those eyes. Not then. Not now.
You blink rapidly, willing yourself to say something—anything—but all that comes out is a stammered:
“I—uh…”
He tilts his head slightly, his brows knitting together in mild concern. His voice, soft as ever, pulls you from your spiraling thoughts.
“Are you okay?”
Okay? How could you possibly explain that your world just flipped upside down because you’re standing face to face with the boy who disappeared from your life, only to return looking like he stepped straight out of a daydream?
You swallow hard, gripping the edges of the book cart in front of you for stability. Your gaze darts back to the ring for a moment, as if needing further confirmation that this isn’t just some cruel trick of the light.
But it’s there. Just like those eyes.
“It’s… nothing.” Your voice is quieter than you intended, almost lost in the vast silence of the aisle.
He seems unconvinced but doesn’t press you further. Instead, he gives a small, uncertain smile, shifting awkwardly on his feet. The motion causes the ring to glint again, mocking you with its undeniable truth.
You were an idiot.
But not about this. Not about him.
His voice pulls you back to the present, and you hastily try to make sense of the words tumbling from his cherry-tinted lips. Watching him struggle to find the right words makes your heart flutter with sympathy, and you offer him a reassuring smile, nodding encouragingly.
At that, he takes a deep breath and tries again.
“…I need some help. I—I’m looking for a specific book, you see, but…”
Aaaaand there it is—the sleeve-tugging. The endearing awkwardness in the way he shifts nervously, almost as if he’s in a scene straight out of one of those anime shows you and Moth were always obsessed with. You can’t help but think, Moth is going to lose it when I tell them about this later.
The stranger in front of you inhales shakily once more before speaking again. This time, though, his voice is steadier, more confident, and there’s a fire in his eye.
“…Do you have any books on native flora? The best I’ve found are on generic wildlife, but nothing on Corland Bay’s plants.”
Native flora? The first thought that crosses your mind is to introduce him to Violet—she’d love to help. But then you snap back to the present, chuckling softly to yourself as you step closer to him, scanning the shelf beside him.
He almost seems to flinch at your sudden proximity, but he doesn’t move away. In fact, he leans just a little closer, his head tilting towards yours. You don’t notice it at first, but his breath hitches when your scent reaches him, and for a moment, the air between you feels heavier.
“No, you’re definitely in the right aisle. Those kinds of books are just… more hidden, I guess.”
You step past him this time, making your way over to the lower section of the shelves. Your fingers skim over the spines of the books absent-mindedly, until you find exactly what you’re looking for. You pull it out, giving the cover a once-over before holding it out to him.
“Is this what you’re looking for?”
You barely notice how his gaze trails over your form as you adjust the book in your hands, your focus more on the misplaced cookbook on the shelf than the stranger behind you. You wonder if this book is really that interesting or if he’s just that into nature. Either way, he takes a tentative step forward and reaches out, pulling the book from your grasp with his shaky fingers.
He flips through a few pages, his eyes darting quickly over the contents, before giving a satisfied nod.
“Y-Yes! This was exactly what I was looking for! Thank you…”
You smile, relieved that you were able to help.
“I’m glad.”
Then, to your surprise, he suddenly adds with a soft laugh, “Haha, you’re like an angel sent down from heaven or something. You’re so helpful. Kind, too.”
Your eyes widen, unable to fully process what he just said. The words hang in the air, a bit too sweet, a bit too much for your heart to handle right now.
“…What?” you stammer, not sure if you heard him correctly.
“W-What?”
He seems mortified, his face flushing as he stammers in embarrassment. “Oh! I—I didn’t—Did I say that out loud? I didn’t mean to! Ugh, that must’ve been so weird… I’m so sorry!”
The sight of him about to crumble into a ball of nerves makes your heart clench. You quickly raise your hands in a reassuring manner and give him a gentle smile.
“Hey, it’s fine! No need to freak out. I just… I wasn’t expecting someone to say that about me, is all.”
He looks at you, still flustered, but with a relieved smile. “R-Really? Well, I think it’s true for what it’s worth.”
“Um… Thanks?”
You figure that’s your cue to leave before things get even more awkward. You offer him one last friendly smile and glance subtly back toward the reception desk, hoping for some excuse to break away. But the eccentric man shows no signs of moving. Instead, he just stands there, staring down at you expectantly.
Did he want to continue the conversation? It seems unlikely since he hasn’t said anything—he just… watches you.
Awkwardly, you clear your throat for what feels like the millionth time today and gesture vaguely toward the reception desk behind you, hoping that’ll be enough to send him on his way.
You both just stand there, locked in an awkward silence, staring at each other. It’s as if the world has slowed down, the only sounds being your heart thumping in your chest and the soft shuffle of his feet on the library floor.
“…Uh. Y-You shouldn’t stare at me like that,” you say, trying to break the tension, your voice coming out more softly than you intended. He looks at you like a good boy, all wide-eyed and unsure, making you feel even more self-conscious.
“Especially when it’s with a stranger you don’t know,” you add, puffing out a little sigh of frustration. God… You mutter under your breath, cursing yourself for even thinking about it. You never should’ve said that. Not when your almost childhood fiancé is standing right in front of you.
Nevermind, you tell yourself, swallowing your thoughts before they spill out any further.
He blinks at your words, clearly caught off guard, but instead of retreating, he straightens up slightly, a sheepish smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
“Actually… Now that I think about it, you haven’t told me your name yet,” he says, almost as if the realization had just dawned on him.
You sigh, feeling a mix of amusement and annoyance at how easily he shifts back to normal.
“Oh! Haha, I guess you’re right.”
You’re overthinking like an idiot. Your mind is racing, completely trapped in the realization that this is him. How did you not see it sooner? Those eyes. Those damn blue eyes. You didn’t even tell him anything about yourself, and yet here he is, standing right in front of you. Your heart nearly stops when he almost says his name as Redact—but you hold that damn smile like a minion, forcing your cheeks not to puff up in pure disbelief.
You can’t look away. You can’t stop staring at him. Is this really happening? Is this just some twisted dream? There’s no way—no way it could be him, right?
But then he speaks again, effortlessly breaking your spiral.
“Do what? Anyway! You can just call me Ren if you’d like,” he says, giving you a soft, almost amused smile.
Ren? Wait, what? Is it really him? Was he even flirting with you just now? Your mind whirls even faster, trying to process everything all at once.
“Is it alright if I call you Y/n? Although… Angel does suit you just as well, haha,” he adds, the tone of his voice making your heart race even more.
What. The. Hell. Just happened? Were you imagining things? Were you really just caught in some weird flirty moment with someone who looked like… him?
But then you gather enough courage to ask, your voice a bit more unsteady than usual.
“How did you know my name? I don’t remember telling you.”
Ren’s smile only grows. “Silly, it’s on your name tag.”
He reaches forward with that graceful, fluid movement and gently flicks the name tag that you somehow forgot you were even wearing this morning.
“Oh,” you mutter, realizing the awkwardness of it all.
For a second, you almost feel relieved. Maybe it wasn’t him after all—maybe it was just your mind playing tricks on you.
But no. Those eyes. They never lie. You know exactly who you’re standing in front of. The boy. The blue eyes. You can’t deny it any longer.
It’s him. It’s really him.
Ren’s voice cuts through the air, almost playful in its tone.
“Say, are you busy later? I’d love to thank you for helping me find this book.”
Seriously, what is up with this guy? One minute, he’s shy, barely able to string a sentence together, and the next, he’s boldly asking to spend time with you. It’s almost like he’s testing the waters, trying out different sides of himself to see which one you respond to better.
You hesitate for a second before replying, still trying to process everything that’s been happening.
“Actually, I’ll be busy this afternoon,” you say, trying to keep things casual. “Need to buy a new lock for my apartment.”
Ren furrows his brow at that.
“A new lock? That doesn’t sound good. Can I ask why?”
You pause for a second, mulling over whether or not you should tell him. But, it doesn’t seem like there’s any harm in it. He’s a stranger, but what’s the worst that could happen? It’s not like he’s going to show up at your door and test the lock himself.
“Apparently, someone broke into my apartment last night, and I didn’t even notice. I don’t think they stole anything, but still. It’s creepy,” you say, feeling the unease creep up on you again.
You shrug slightly, trying to brush it off as casually as you can.
“I figured it’s better to be safe than sorry, you know?”
Ren looks genuinely concerned, his gaze softening as he listens.
“Stay up all night if you have to. Really get the edge on them,” he says, an odd but kind suggestion.
You can’t help but laugh at that. There’s something about his words—so unexpected yet sincere—that make it hard not to warm up to him. He seems more relaxed now, his usual awkwardness replaced by something far more comfortable. Maybe this is the side of him you like better.
“Yeah? And who’s gonna be the one to beat the guy up at 3AM?” you joke, though the thought of it does make you feel a little safer, somehow. “Because last I checked, I’m not really the type to go around throwing punches at people I don’t know. And definitely not before the sun is up and shining.”
Before you can even finish your thought, Ren speaks up, his voice steady and confident.
“I could do it for you,” he says without missing a beat.
You blink, not sure if you heard that right.
“You?” you ask, clearly surprised. “But— I mean, we don’t even know each other that well, and…”
Ren shrugs, unfazed.
“That’s fine,” he says with a grin. “I could tell you aaaall about myself on the walk there.”
Your eyebrows furrow as you take in his words, and you can’t help but feel your heart skip a beat. There’s something about his confidence, something different from the shy guy you met moments ago.
“My whole life story and everything,” Ren continues, his grin widening. “Where I was born, the school I went to, how many cute librarians I’ve met…” He pauses, then adds, with a mischievous twinkle in his eye, “Which happens to be one, so far.”
You open your mouth to say something, but before you can, Ren seems to pick up on your reaction—your discomfort, or maybe your surprise—and quickly backtracks.
“Ah, well,” he stammers, clearly realizing his words weren’t exactly what you expected. “What I meant was… You know, you’re really…uh…nice. And helpful. Really helpful. Sorry if that sounded weird.”
You pause for a moment, your mind racing as Ren’s words continue to echo in your head. He could really help me out… You bite your lip, fighting off the unease that comes with letting a near-stranger into your space. But… he did seem strong, and the idea of not facing this alone makes the decision easier.
“Actually… you could come by my place,” you say, surprising even yourself. “I mean, you seem strong enough to handle anything if, y'know, something goes wrong. Plus… you did offer.” You give him a small, reassuring smile, hoping he doesn’t take it the wrong way.
Ren’s eyes widen slightly, clearly surprised by your suggestion. But just as quickly, his expression shifts to one of eagerness, almost too eager. A wide grin spreads across his face.
“Yeah? Sure!! Of course! I’ll be there!” He practically beams, his earlier shyness vanishing. It’s like a switch flipped, and now he’s practically bouncing in place.
You can’t help but smile back at him, but a small voice in the back of your mind nags you. What are you doing? You barely know this guy. Still, the idea of him coming over… it almost feels right. Maybe you’re being a bit of an idiot, but at this moment, you don’t really care. You nod to yourself, deciding to just go with it. He might be exactly what you need.
But then, just as you’re about to say something else, the sound of heels clicking across the floor interrupts you. You turn, and there’s Eleanor, walking up to the desk with that ever-sweet, slightly apologetic expression on her face.
“Hey, uh, your boss is here,” she says, clearly noticing the way Ren’s mood shifts instantly.
Ren’s smile falters just a bit, and for a second, you think you see something close to irritation flash across his face. But just as quickly, it’s gone, replaced by a polite smile. He shifts his gaze back to you, his posture still tense.
“Guess I’ll see you later?” he says, voice a bit lower than before.
You feel a pang of disappointment, but quickly shake it off.
“Yeah, I’ll see you,” you reply, still smiling. “Take care of him, Eleanor.” You give her a pointed look, making sure she knows to keep an eye on him while you’re gone.
With that, you quickly turn on your heel, not wanting to linger any longer. You’ve already made your decision. Time to move on. You wave a quick goodbye to Ren, your heart still pounding, and make your way out, hoping that whatever this is… doesn’t turn into something you’ll regret later.
Poor Ren, though. You can’t help but feel a little bad leaving him with Eleanor—poor soul. You can only imagine how that conversation is going to go.
You hurry out of the store, a strange feeling pulses in your chest—like something you’ve forgotten is suddenly coming back. Your mind keeps flashing to Ren, his words, the way his eyes shifted when you suggested he come to your apartment. Wait a minute…
You stop mid-step, your breath catching. It can’t be him… But as you replay everything in your mind—the soft, nervous demeanor, the blue eyes that glinted with something familiar, the awkward charm—Oh my god. It hits you like a lightning bolt. You weren’t an idiot! You did know him.
Ren was the boy who confessed to you all those years ago. The one Leon had scared off, That was him. The memories rush back. The shy, stuttering confession, the flushed face, the way he’d stood in front of you, unsure of how to make himself heard.
He was your childhood almost fiancé —the one who slipped away from your life without you even realizing it. You could hardly believe it, but now everything made sense. The way he’d been so eager to talk to you, his sudden confidence after the awkwardness—it was like he had been waiting for this moment, for you to recognize him.
You gasp, your heart racing. Ren No, Redacted. He’s been here this whole time.
You turn around, the impulse to rush back almost overwhelming, but then your feet freeze. What are you going to do? Run back to him and admit everything? Or would that make it all worse?
But before you can make up your mind, the voice in your head interrupts, a soft laugh escaping your lips. Screw it. You found him. Your childhood crush, who had somehow slipped through your fingers and now stands before you again.
This is it.

Step Yo Game Up
pure chaos, based off this Tiktok:
The highway stretched endlessly into the night, stars flickering faintly above. But the real stars tonight weren’t in the sky—they were the chaotic forces of nature speeding down the road in two very different cars.
Gojo Satoru’s car, naturally, was at the center of its own storm.
Gojo, sunglasses on even though it was well past sunset, had one hand on the steering wheel and the other tapping the dash to the fading beats of LazyTown’s “Cooking by the Book.” Yuji, red-faced and breathless from laughing too hard, slapped the dashboard as if it owed him money.
“That’s it—I’m DONE,” Yuji wheezed, gasping for air. “I can’t take it! That song was TOO MUCH.”
“I’m telling you, this is the road trip playlist,” Gojo said smugly.
“You’re a maniac,” Nobara added, grinning as she leaned over Megumi’s shoulder, trying to see what he was watching.
“Please leave me alone,” Megumi groaned, adjusting his phone to block her view. He’d given up trying to watch his documentary in peace.
Even Choso had cracked a small smile at Yuji’s uncontrollable laughter, though he kept his usual quiet demeanor.
The chaos in the car was just starting to settle when the air around them shifted. The familiar pounding bass of a distant beat crept into their ears. It was deep, heavy, and building quickly—like the soundtrack of an approaching boss fight.
Yuji’s laughter faded as he turned toward the back window. “What... is that?”
Choso tilted his head. “It’s getting louder.”
Gojo smirked. “I know exactly what that is.”
Headlights appeared behind them, and moments later, Sukuna’s sleek black car roared into view. The bass was deafening now, shaking the ground beneath them as the unmistakable beat of Lil Jon’s “Step Yo Game Up” blared from the speakers.
“BREAK IT DOWN, BITCH! LET ME SEE YOU BACK IT UP!”
Sukuna’s grin was visible even from Gojo’s car. He sat relaxed, one hand draped over the wheel, eyes gleaming with the thrill of speed and mischief. Beside him, Toji was completely in his element, fist-pumping to the beat and yelling along with the lyrics.
“STEP YO GAME UP! STEP YO GAME UP!”
“Why are they like this?” Megumi muttered, already bracing for impact.
Nobara leaned forward excitedly. “Oh, this is gonna be good.”
Toji leaned halfway out of the passenger window, laughing like a maniac. “HEY GOJO! YOU GONNA LET US LEAVE YOU IN THE DUST?!”
Gojo chuckled, pushing his sunglasses up the bridge of his nose. “Not a chance.”
He shifted gears, and the car surged forward.
“GOJO, NO!” Megumi yelled.
“GOJO, YES!” Yuji countered, throwing his arms in the air. “Let’s GO!”
The two cars raced side by side, engines roaring and music clashing. Sukuna’s car blasted Lil Jon’s relentless anthem:
“BREAK IT DOWN, BITCH! LET ME SEE YOU BACK IT UP!”
Meanwhile, Gojo cranked up his own playlist, mixing chaotic beats with last-minute song switches as Yuji scrambled to find something ridiculous to compete with Lil Jon.
“C’mon, Yuji, give us something good!” Nobara yelled.
“I’m working on it!” Yuji scrolled frantically.
But Gojo didn’t need a perfect song. He only needed skill—and he had plenty of that. With a flick of his wrist, he swerved into the fast lane, overtaking Sukuna by just a few inches.
Sukuna narrowed his eyes, his smirk never fading. “Think you’re clever, huh?” he muttered.
Toji laughed, banging his hand on the dashboard. “Don’t let him win, King of Curses! Show him who’s boss!”
Sukuna downshifted, the engine growling like a beast awakening. The car shot forward, reclaiming its lead as Lil Jon’s voice hit another climactic scream:
“STEP YO GAME UP!”
Yuji finally found a song and hit play, but it was too late. Sukuna’s car had already pulled ahead, weaving effortlessly through traffic like it was part of a deadly game.
Gojo grinned, refusing to give up. “Hold on, kids. I’m not done yet.”
Nobara whooped. “Yeah, Gojo-sensei! Teach those jerks a lesson!”
Megumi, clinging to the door handle, muttered, “This isn’t a lesson. This is criminal behavior.”
But even he couldn’t deny the adrenaline surging through the car as Gojo pushed the pedal to the floor, matching Sukuna’s speed once again. The two cars tore down the highway, the wind whipping past them as if the world couldn’t keep up.
“WE’RE GONNA DIE,” Choso said flatly, gripping his seatbelt with both hands.
“Relax,” Gojo said, effortlessly swerving around a truck. “Infinity’s got us covered.”
Sukuna glanced over, catching Gojo’s eye through the window. His grin widened, and with one final push, he veered onto an upcoming exit ramp, tires squealing as he disappeared into the night.
Lil Jon’s voice echoed off the highway walls: “STEP YO GAME UP!”
Gojo slowed down, his laughter filling the car. “Guess they needed a shortcut to win.”
“Yeah, they knew they couldn’t beat us fair and square,” Nobara added, still riding the high of the race.
Yuji slumped back in his seat, grinning from ear to ear. “That was AWESOME.”
Megumi sighed, rubbing his temples. “I’m never getting in this car again.”
“You say that every time,” Gojo replied, smirking through the rearview mirror.
Choso let out a long breath, muttering, “I don’t even know how I got here.”
Gojo flicked on the radio, returning them to their chaotic playlist as the car continued down the highway.
In the distance, Sukuna and Toji’s laughter echoed through the night, the bass of “Step Yo Game Up” fading into the distance as they celebrated their victory—until the next time chaos struck the road.

Chapter 26/ Ricky's Vlog Footage
chapter warnings: none? also teasers for the ending at the end of the chapter tehe :)
When I came up with the idea for this chapter I thought it would be a fun filler chapter leading up to the final part! I could keep adding to this chapter but since I didn't post last week enough is enough so here it is! Happy monday!! :)
 ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
“It’s 3am… In the am,” Ricky yawned, squinting at the light as he turned on his bedside lamp, “And we leave today for the tour, in about 7 hours.”
He picks his phone up, showing the time, and a message from Vin.
“I texted Vin just now to make sure he was up and ready, I’ve got to pick him and Ryan up before leaving for the airport.” He yawned again, switching the lights on as he walked through his house, “But before I do anything…” He reached into the cupboard and showed the camera his coffee mug, one he had received from a fan which had a picture of him and Vin on it. “Coffee.”
[Cut to the car on the way to the airport]
“How do I know if it’s on?” Vinny asked, screwing his face up at the camera, which was too close to his face, showing a close up of his mouth.
“It’s already on.” Ryan laughed, and Vinny’s eyes widened.
“Oh it is?” He chuckled, “Hey guys- Hey youtube! What is up! I’m Ricky Olson and-”
“This won’t make it into the vlog,” Rick laughed from the driver's seat, “None of this will.”
“But this is entertaining! Give the people what they want!” Vin smiled, “Rick just drove through a red light-”
“There’s nobody about! It’s 4am! I-”
[Cut to the airport]
Vinny stood staring straight into the camera, the sound of screaming crying children in the background. You could tell by his eyes that he was trying to hold it together.
“I have an announcement,” he said after a long sigh, “So… I’m actually quitting the band.”
The sound of crying children got louder as Vinny shook his head, he looked like he was either about to start laughing or crying, perhaps even both?
“I’m done!”
[Cut to the tour bus]
“So,” Rick says as he places the camera on the table, on a makeshift tripod, made from books and an upside down cup , “We’ve landed, we got to our hotel and then Chris said the guys from Bad Omens forgot to change the dates they needed their bus for, so we’re off to pick them up!”
The camera turns to Justin, who slowly turns to look at Ricky.
“What do you want?” He groaned.
“Do you have anything to say?”
“Yeah. Fuck you.”
[It cuts to shots of the guys, and Bad Omens as they get on the bus. Folio and Ruffilo both gave the camera a wave, but the others didn’t seem to acknowledge it, with some music playing over the top.]
[Cut to Vinny on the bus]
Vinny was talking to the camera, but seemed a little distracted. Unbeknownst to everyone else, his eyes were on you as you stepped on to the bus.
“Guys I have solved our photographer dilemma!” Chris proudly announced as he stepped back onto the bus, “Y/n’s filling in for the first three days!”
“Hi!” You said with a smile, but Vinny quickly grabbed the camera from Rick, turning it back to him.
“Do you have her consent to record her?” He asked, a mock-serious expression on his face, “Didn’t think so… You creep!” He couldn’t help the small smirk tugging on the corner of his lips.
“...Aren’t you, Vin.” Justin shouted out, but Vinny didn't quite catch the beginning of his sentence.
“What did he say?” He asked Rick, who shrugged in reply.
Vinny put his middle finger up to Justin, holding back a laugh.
[Cut to the hotel room]
“So,” Ricky says, turning the camera around, “Here’s our- I mean my room for the first couple nights, we’ve got our own rooms this time around so that’s sick.”
Rick gives a room tour, showing the bathroom, the bed, the window and the tv which didn’t seem to work.
“It’s gonna be weird going to sleep with nobody else snoring or coughing in the room.” He smiled, "It won't be this way on the bus!"
[Cut to the next day]
Ryan, Rick and Vinny are walking down the street.
“So, update,” Ricky began, “Technically tomorrow is the first day of tour, since we’ve got the day off today. So we’ve decided to go and explore the city, get some lunch, maybe visit the museum here... Ryan, do you have anything to say?”
“Yeah, Rick’s boring, there’s a party tonight and he’s not coming.” Ryan laughed.
“C’mon,” Vin groaned, “Even I’m gonna be there!”
“I’ve got shit to do.” Ricky chuckled.
“Like what?”
“...Editing the vlog?”
[Cut to the next morning]
“Today’s the day.” Rick says as he stirs his coffee, “It’s the first day of tour, we’ve also got an interview to go to this morning. I need to go and check on Vin after last night, Ryan said he left early but Vin stayed behind… So he might be feeling a little rough this morning.” He chuckled.
[Cut to Rick walking down the hall]
“Okay, Vin hasn’t seen my texts so I’m assuming he’s still asleep!” Rick says before he knocks on Vin’s door.
“Vin! Wake up everyone’s waiting for you!” He continues knocking.
Rick sighs and shakes his head, there was no answer.
“This is why I told you it was a bad idea to go out la-” Vin opened the door, revealing himself half dressed and you still lying in his bed, wearing his shirt. “Finally, I- What’s y/n doing in your room? What the hell Vin! This better not be what it looks like-”
“No! She stayed here because-”
[Cut to backstage before the show]
“Wanna tell us what you’re up to?” Rick asks Folio, who was smirking as he collected two paper cups.
“I’m doing an experiment. Noah and Vin both claim they can tell the difference between coke and pepsi,” he looks around for the two cans he had bought, “So in one cup… There’s pepsi, and in the other, there's gonna be coke.”
“How are you going to tell the difference?” Matt asked, “How would you know if they’re right or not if you forget which cups which?”
Folio thought for a moment before calling out to Angela.
“Can I borrow something to mark a cup?”
“Sure,” she chuckled, handing him an eyeliner pen, “Just be careful with it, it's expensive.”
“Thanks!”
Folio roughly marked the underneath of one of the cups, and smiled at the camera, putting a thumb up.
[Cut to the couches]
“So,” Folio laughed handing Noah the cups, “One of these has pepsi and the other one has coke-“
“You want me to say which ones in which?” Noah raised an eyebrow, “Easy, I’ve been training for this my whole life!”
“You need to smell them first!” Vinny shouted over, and Noah nodded, smelling each drink.
“This one smells like pepsi for sure,” he said, “Is it?”
“Try them!” Matt encouraged.
Noah hesitated for a second before trying a sip of each.
“Oh no, that one’s coke… This one’s pepsi.”
Folio took the cups back, checking the bottom.
“He’s right!” *insert sound effects*
[Cut to Vinny]
“I can tell just by smelling them,” he bragged, “And my nose tells me that…”
He brings both cups up to smell, pulling an unsure face, he has his answer.
“This one’s pepsi. And I know I’m fucking right!”
“Try them.” Folio chuckled, and Vin nodded, taking a sip of each.
“Pepsi.” He held one of the cups out, “Just like my nose told me.”
Folio takes the cup and checks the bottom.
“Wrong! That’s coke!” *Insert sound effect*
[Cut to Chris]
“So… I have to guess which one’s pepsi?” He asks, a smile on his face as he takes both cups from Matt.
“That’s right, so far Noah’s got it right and Vin got it wrong.”
Chris smelled both cups before trying each, furrowing his eyebrows.
“That’s hard,” he chuckled, “How do you know which is in which?”
“I’ve marked the bottom,” Folio said, “But don’t look!”
“I won’t!” Chris laughed before trying each, “I’ll say… This one’s pepsi?”
Folio bent down to check the bottom of the cup Chris held out.
“It is!” *insert sound effect*
[Cut to you]
“This is stupid,” you laugh as Folio hands you the cups, “And the others have all drank out of these?”
“Hey, that's nothing, Ryan drank Ricky’s piss before.” Vin laughed, and your face screwed up in horror as you looked up at Ricky with fear in your eyes.
"He did what?!"
“I told you that was an accident!" Ryan shouted from across the room.
"Fuck this isn’t staying in the video,” Rick laughed, “Ryan bought apple juice and left it in the van, back when we toured in a van, it just so happened I peed in a bottle and it was the same colour-“
“Okay!” You shook your head, “I’ve heard enough, what do you want me to do, Nick?”
“Tell me which one’s pepsi and which one's coke!”
You tried each drink, thinking for a moment before trying another sip of each.
“This one is definitely coke,” you held one cup out, “so this one’s pepsi.”
Folio took the cups back and checked for the mark.
“You’re right!” *Insert sound effects*
“What the fuck,” Vin groaned, “Let me try them again.”
[Cut to after the show]
“We just got done playing,” Ricky said to the camera, “And clearly it’s been a long couple of days for somebody on their first tour.”
As he pans the camera around, he shows you fast asleep with your head on resting Vin’s shoulder.
“I think somebody’s got a crush!” Justin whispers to the camera.
“Okay I can't keep that in!”  Rick laughs.
[Cut to Vinny randomly dancing to Maroon 5]
[Cut to Justin doing his makeup]
"So, for everyone who's been asking, I'm going to give you all the long awaited stage makeup tutorial... So what you want to do first is-"
[Cut to backstage, after a show]
“Update!” Vinny grinned, “We literally just got off stage, I went nuts out there, we all went nuts out there... I think I need a shower… Hey y/n, do you think I need a shower?” He was suddenly invading your personal space, his arms wrapping around you in a scarily sweaty hug, and what was left of his body paint was rubbing off on you.
“Vincenzo I swear if you don’t let go of me right now!” You threatened, pushing him away.
“Y/n, give me an update!” Rick smiled from behind the camera.
“Update- Is this my first real update?” You ask as Vin begins to make an escape, “Vin stinks, and I’m gonna beat his ass for covering me in sweaty paint!”
“You would never!” He shouts from the hallway, and you raise your eyebrows before chasing after him.
“They’re so into each other... It makes me sick.” Ryan laughed, as Ricky panned the camera to him.
[Cut to the tour bus, the next morning]
“Chris, give me an update!”
Chris groans, before smiling for the camera.
“Update, it’s the… Fifth show of the tour tonight, and I think I’m getting sick. I should be saving my voice, Rick, but look what you’re making me do!” He said in a mock-serious tone.
[Cut to Rick backstage, in full makeup and stage fit]
"Update... I keep forgetting to make actual updates so uh... We're about to play at the biggest festival of our career, loads of people are out there waiting for us, we're on in about 15 minutes..." The camera turns to Vinny, "How do you feel?"
"Rick..." He presses his lips together, looking away for a moment, "I think I'm going to shit myself."
[Cut to Vinny after playing at the festival]
“Update,” Vinny pointed at the camera, clearly on an adrenaline rush after playing, “We just got done playing to like… three hundred million people, it was fucking awesome!” He claps, thinking of something else to say, “Y/n took some hot pictures of me, Rick fell off the stage-”
“I didn’t fall off the stage,” Ricky interrupted, turning the camera to his face, “I misjudged where the platform was-”
“Rick fell off the stage.” Vinny repeated, “And now we’re about to go play some Mario kart.”
“Y/n do you have anything to add?” Rick pointed the camera at you.
“Motionless in White rock,” you said proudly, “It was great to…” You trailed off as your phone vibrated, forgetting all about the camera pointed at you, “...Fuck, I think I’m getting a headache, I think I need to lay down, I’ll see you guys tomorrow.” You say, quickly turning around and walking off.
Ricky and Vinny look at each other as you walk away.
“That was weird.” Rick points out, putting the camera down.
[Cut to you and Vin in the dark, in the hallway of a hotel]
“Welcome back,” Vinny says in a weird voice, “To the third installment of this place is haunted.. Haunted….. Haunted……”
“We’ve been staying at this hotel for two nights, and we’ve been noticing… some strange things!” You say.
“So, as an expert in all things paranormal, I am here to investigate!”
“The first mystery… A banging sound coming from Folio’s room in the middle of the night…” You try to hold back your laugh as you approach his door, “I’ve been staying in the room next to him, and I think he may be being visited in the night by spirits-”
“I fear it may be the very same vengeful incubus that was following me around last tour… Y/n has the spare key to his room, so let’s go and check on him!”
You slowly push the hotel door open, and wave for Vin and Rick to follow you in.
“It appears Nick is asleep… And there is no sign of any spirits, or incubuses.. But there is a- Oh shit we better get out there’s a girl in his bed!”
All three of you rushed out of the room trying your best not to laugh before shutting the door back up.
[Cut to Vinny getting his makeup done]
“The concept of a dad dick isn’t hard to understand…” Vin laughed, “When you become a dad you get a dad dick!”
“So Justin has a dad dick?” Folio chuckles.
“Yeah! He’s the only one of us with a dad dick… I think.” Vinny’s eyes widen, full of fear as he stares into the camera, “I don’t think I have any kids?”
[Cut to Vinny asleep on the couch in the green room, whilst you stand behind him, braiding his hair]
The camera slowly zooms in on you as you try holding back your laughter as Vin snores.
"When he wakes up we're telling him he's been visited by the braid fairy," you whispered, before looking back down and running your fingers through his hair, "He's got softer hair than me? I'm stealing his conditioner."
[Cut to Rick on the bus]
"I can't believe what I've just seen... I've caught y/n in the act... With evidence..."
As the camera turns around, it shows you stuffing as many snacks as you can into your bag before getting on to the bus.
"Every time we ask her if she's got any snacks she says no!" Vinny laughed, also watching you from the bus window. "When she gets on I'm gonna ask if she has any and see what she says." he plotted, and the Rick nodded.
"Hey guys." You smile, walking onto the bus, "What time do we start sound check?"
"Uh, in a couple hours." Rick said from behind the camera.
"Y/n did you get any snacks in the store?"
"Yes, but you still owe me for the packs of starburst you stole from me!"
[Cut to Justin and you]
“Justin, give me an update!”
“Update!” Justin sighed, “I’m introducing y/n to Twit!”
“And for the people who don’t know… Who is Twit?”
“He’s in the video you posted! If you don’t know you better get to know!”
The camera zooms in on Justin’s phone, where Vinny is being Twit.
“What’s up man! I’m Twit and I’m gonna eat some God- I mean gosh darn cookies!”
“Vin, how old were you here?!” You laugh.
“25.” Vinny groans, “Please stop! Turn it off!”
[Cut to Chris playing a guitar during souncheck]
"I didn't know he played?" Your eyebrows raised as you listened to Chris play a song that sounded a lot like Another Life
"Chris has always played," Rick chuckled from behind the camera, "I guess you learn something new everyday."
[Cut to you]
"Y/n, give me an update."
"Update... I'm sat here in the green room editing some pictures I took from the shows last week. The guys have gone out to get lunch, I've asked Noah to get me a bagel so we'll see how well he knows me because I haven't told him which one I want..."
"Does he know your usual order?"
"He should!" You chuckle, "I've been getting the same thing for three months."
[Cut to Rick backstage before a show]
"So, update..." He set the camera up, stepping back slightly, almost ending up in Justin's lap, "One of our shows got cancelled because it was an outdoors venue and the weathers been pretty shit so we're unable to play, so Vin suggested going live on twitch and hanging out there for a bit with all the guys. I know it won't make up for a cancelled show but it's something."
"They can't see you, Vin." Justin laughed, and Rick looked over at Vinny.
"Give the people what they want!" Vin called out.
"Vin's got his thumbs up," he chuckled, turning the camera around, "There he is..."
"What's up youtube!"
[Cut to you smiling at your phone]
"What are you smiling at...?" Rick teased, zooming in on you.
"I'm looking at pictures of my bed, I can't wait to be home." You hold your phone out to Rick, showing him.
[Cut to Ricky in the bus]
"Update! It's the final month of tour and I don't feel like I've given any real updates on here. We've had the best time this tour, it's been great seeing familiar faces and some new ones too... Uh... Yeah. Do you have anything to add?"
Rick turned the camera, pointing at Vinny who was sat facing you on the couch as you carefully re-dyed his red streaks.
"I don't feel like I've slept in 4 years."
"Vin stop moving!" You groaned, trying to section his hair to clip back.
"Shit, sorry."
[Cut to Ryan backstage]
"I'm not doing this shit," he laughed, until Ricky snatched his phone from his hand, "Fine." Ryan sighed, sitting up straight, "Update, we've got a few more shows to play and then I can get back home to my dog... Vin's been unusually quiet the last couple days, it's been pretty nice."
You walk into the room, setting your bags down on the table. As if on cue, Vin gets up and leaves without saying a word to anybody.
Ryan gives the camera look to say what was that about?
[Cut to Vinny and Noah talking in the green room]
"I just don't understand how you guys can all do the metal screamy thing but I can't?" Vinny laughed.
Noah tried explaining it to Vinny, who tried to copy and do as he was taught, but still failed.
"What the hell is going on in here?" Angela laughs, walking in with you by her side, "I thought Vin was getting tortured."
"No but we are." Justin sighed.
"Noah's trying to teach Vin to scream, it's pretty funny."
"...No, not like that- Y'know what, ask Justin or Chris, I haven't got the patience for this." Noah shook his head, chuckling slightly as he reached for his water.
Vin still attempted, and still failed.
"Can I please say what we're all thinking?" You ask as you sit beside Noah, resting your legs over his lap.
"Go for it!" Ryan laughed.
"Vin, you have the voice of an angel, honey, but just this once... Shut the fuck up, please." You chuckled.
"Yeah, man, stick to rapping. Trap Demon's overdue a comeback." Rick said from behind the camera.
"Trap Demon?" You raised an eyebrow.
[Cut to Rick trying to set his camera up on a tripod on the beach]
"Uh... Is it straight? Y'know what I don't care actually... We've made it to LA, we've got a couple days off so we decided to spend the day at the beach. Vin and Noah have buried Jolly and Ryan and in the sand and seem to be building sand castles on top of them? Folio's swimming out there with Justin, Chris is just chilling here in the shade like the vampire he is-"
"Coming from you?" Chris chuckled from beside Rick.
"Hey, I don't want to burn! You remember how red me and Vin were after we played that show in Malta, we were only in the sun for less than an hour!"
[Cut to Vinny, who had sunglasses tan lines on his face]
"This is pretty high coverage," Angela explains, showing him the foundation she was going to use, "If I do some colour correcting underneath you wont even notice it!"
"Please just do something. Anything!" Vinny whined. "I've never been sun burned this bad before."
"I told you to wear spf, not my fault you didn't listen." Noah shrugged.
[Cut to Vinny, Rick and Ryan backstage somewhere, Folio is in the back talking with Bryan]
“So,” Rick says, placing the camera down on the table, “It was y/n’s birthday yesterday, and she had other plans so we couldn’t all spend it together. However, our one and only, our dear Vincenzo Mauro booked a venue so we could throw her a surprise party for when she gets back tonight!”
“I’m currently making the playlist,” Vin explains as Ricky turns the camera to him, “Banger after banger, baby! I’ve got some songs I found from her playlists and some DJ shidnfard classics. It’s gonna be a sick night, guys.”
“The good thing about being a band on tour is that you have equipment,” Ryan said, also doing something on his laptop, “We’ve got all our stage lights and shit but nobody here who knows how they work, except Matt but he woke up in a bad mood today so everyone's too afraid to ask him for help, so I’m watching a youtube tutorial on how to set them up.”
“Ryan Sitkowski, our guitarist and soon to be our lights guy,” Rick chuckled, turning the camera back to him, “Angela and Justin are over here, what are you guys up to?”
“Blowing up balloons.” Justin sighed, “I’m gonna be doing this for my kid’s birthday for the next 12 years so why not get some practice?”
“That’s the spirit,” Chris chuckled, walking in with lunch, “How many have you done already?”
“Three.” Justin confessed, “I just don’t know how to tie them!”
“It’s easy,” Angela chimed in, “Even with these nails I’ve still done more than you.”
[Cut to Ricky whispering in the dark]
“Okay… She should be here any minute now, Noah’s gone to pick her up…” Rick paused suddenly, thinking he could hear something. “Y/n, if you’re watching this, I’m so glad we met on this tour. I know we didn’t get on too well in the beginning but… You grew on me. I hope our paths cross again after this, and maybe we get the chance to tour together again. Happy birthday!”
“Fuck, Y/n just texted saying they’re still half an hour away. They stopped at the gas station because Noah needed to pee.” Bryan announces, and everybody groans.
“Great! I’ve just had an idea!” Rick beamed as the lights were switched back on.
[Cut to Justin]
“So what was this plan?” Justin asked, he was stood against a blank wall as Rick pointed the camera at his face.
“We’re all going to give y/n a birthday message, whether I actually keep this part in the vlog or not will depend on what people say but I thought it was a good idea!”
“Oh that’s cute,” Justin smiled, “So do I just-”
“Yes, the camera’s rolling.”
“Oh, okay!” Justin grinned, “Y/n… It’s been great having you with us on this tour, it’s been a pleasure to get to know you, we all think you’re awesome… Vin especially,” he winked, “But seriously, I hope you have a great day, eat cake, party, dance, have fun! You deserve it!”
[Cut to Angela]
“Happy birthday, my love! I never expected to make a new best friend on tour, but here we are, I love you so much girl!”
[Cut to Chris]
“Happy birthday, Y/n! You've pretty much became a member of the band over these months. You’ve been killing it out here, I don’t think I could thank you enough for making all of us look so photogenic and filling in for our usual guy. We love you!”
[Cut to Vinny]
“Y/n!” He clapped his hands together, “Uh… What can I say about you… You’re pretty cool, not as cool as me but y’know, haha, who is?” He smirked, “No, I’m kidding!”
“Restart!” Rick called out. "Take 2!"
“Y/n, I think I’m speaking for all of us when I say you brighten our days, your smile lights the room-”
“Hey, it’s a birthday message not a love confession.”
“Shut up!” Vinny groaned, before getting into the zone again, “Y/n, happy birthday! I wanted to say something heartfelt but Rick didn’t like it so I’ll just say you’re awesome! I’m so happy that I’ve gotten to know you, and I hope when tour ends we’ll still be friends, y’know, unless you’ve been simply just tolerating me the last few months cos you had no other choice! Okay how was that?”
[Cut to Ryan]
“Happy birthday, Y/n! I don’t know how you’ve put up with all of us… I can't even stand these guys and we've been doing this for years. Thank you for everything you do for us, it doesn’t go unnoticed.”
[Cut to Jolly]
“Happy birthday, Y/n! Uh… I’m not usually great at stuff like this, but I just want to say thank you for always being there for us. You deserve the world, and I hope you know how much we all appreciate you.”
[Cut to Matt]
“Happy birthday, Y/n! You’re like the little sister I never asked for but now I can’t live without. Thanks for putting up with all of our shit on the daily and still managing to make us look good out there. I hope you had a great birthday!”
[Cut to Folio]
“... But I don’t know what to say- Oh you’re recording! Y/n, I know I give you a hard time sometimes, but it’s only because you’re basically family to me. You’re one of the hardest working people I know, and we’re all so lucky to have you around. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! I love you so much, I hope you had a nice birthday, and I can’t wait for our fishing trip when this is all over!”
[Cut to Nicholas]
“Y/n! Happy birthday! We all appreciate everything you do for us, even if some of us don’t say it! Have a great night, don’t vomit on Noah this time though… We all remember Bryan’s party!”
[Cut to Bryan]
“You’ll always be my best friend and-”
“Shit I wasn’t recording,” Rick laughed, “Okay, we’re all good.”
“Fuck you, Rick.” Bryan chuckled, “I just said something really beautiful… Y/n, I love you dearly, thanks for sticking with me and being my best friend throughout all the madness in our lives… I can’t remember what else I said now but that’s Rick’s fault. Happy birthday!”
[Cut to darkness, again]
"This is definitely them..." Ricky whispers to the camera.
Suddenly, the lights all switch on, revealing the beautifully decorated room, everyone shouts surprise! As you stand in the doorway, a look of disbelief and excitement on your face as you grin widely
"Oh my god... Guys you didn't have to do this!"
[Cut to Rick at the airport]
"Holy shit. I don't even know if I should post any of this now." He sighs, looking away for a moment, "Some serious shit went down in the last few days... But we did it. We played every show, we... Yeah, I'm not posting any of this shit-"
[Camera cuts]

is it possible if you can write another bendystraw oneshot? I really love them and your ideas about them
“At least I don’t kiss you when I’m drunk!”
Everyone was having a good time at the living, some were playing games, while others talked among themselves and Cup and Bendy began to bicker like they usually do which is why no one was paying much attention to them, Until now.
Everyone turned to look at Bendy whose smile fell as he noticed the mood in the room shift and Cuphead who was red in the face with the most bewildered look they’d ever seen.
“….what?” Boris finally spoke up destroying the silence the room had, “ok I know cheap shot given I don’t drink anymore-“ Whatever Bendy tried to say was cut off by Fanny laughing “That’s not what he meant! You kissed him?” She turned to Cuphead a sly smirk on her face as she questioned him. He couldn’t answer opening and closing his mouth in shock luckily or unluckily Bendy spoke again “Why are you so smug? Do you know how many times I had to pull you and Red off of each other while drunk?” The ladies in question immediately looked at each other in complete shock and embarrassment.
But Bendy wasn’t done just yet.
“And you!” He pointed at Holly who was already blushing a bit, “Do you have any idea how many times I had to hide your compact so you wouldn’t call Alice in the middle of the night to tell how ‘she’s so pretty and she should ditch all those pesty boys trying to court her and kiss you instead’?” Now she was full-on blushing, her face completely red.
“And you.” Bendy turned to Oddswell, his voice gentle now “I wanna know what happened that night at the bar with Winston” Oddswell looked embarrassed for a brief moment before nodding slowly choosing to ignore everyone’s gaze.
Cup still wasn’t saying a word, his eyes completely focused on Bendy and Bendy alone.
The rest of the day was spent with everyone ignoring the topic as best as possible. Expect for Bendy, Who still had no idea why everyone had that kind of reaction in the first place.
Bendy left saying he needed fresh air and Cup followed saying he was going out to smoke.
“You know I got out for ‘fresh’ air right?” Bendy waved the smoke out his face giving Cup an annoyed look, Cuphead responded to that by blowing smoke directly at him making him cough, “Seriously man?” He whined earning a chuckle from Cup.
“Sooooo” Cup started awkwardly “I kiss you when I’m drunk?” He avoided Bendy’s eyes as he asked, Which in turn made Bendy roll his eyes “Yeah but we pretty much established that it’s a normal thing to want to kiss your best friend” he turned to look up.“Besides you were drunk so not like it means anything”
“So if I were to kiss you right now it’ll mean something?”
The question took him off guard and made him snap his head back to look at Cup who was peacefully continuing to smoke, The air around him suddenly felt suffocating.
It seemed as tho the smoke had completely inhaled him making him unable to see anything but Cup, the smell made him want to cough again but he stayed silent for as long as he could ignoring the seemingly innocent glances Cuphead gave him.
“No.”
He finally said his voice sounded too dead even to himself, Cup only gave a long hum in response as he turned towards him blowing smoke into his face as he spoke.
“So it will mean nothing to you?” “Nothing at all.” And with that, his lips met Bendy’s
Is it still lying if they’re both aware of the truth?

When Dialogue Misses the Mark
Perfect 10 Liners, we ran into a bit of a problem today. You see - I ADORE the Yotha/Gun storyline. Seriously. I didn't enjoy Arc/Arm at all and had largely wrote off this show, but Yotha/Gun brought me back. I've greatly enjoyed watching this black brooder and his crying sunshine navigate their traumas and find comfort in each other.
But your dialogue missed the mark for me today.
I didn't understand how Klao not fighting back met Warich's demands.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It felt like I was missing something in that exchange, but I didn't really care so much. I have ugly thoughts about Warich anyways.
I side-eyed this line A LOT.
Tumblr media
Telling a sunshine character that tries to hide his pain behind a smile not to cry? I don't like it one bit. Let the man feel. This situation was scary. But I at least understood the intention, and the rest of the scene was solid. Yotha isn't really saying to hide the pain. He doesn't want Gun to be sad at all, and he's trying to calm him down.
But that brings us to the rest of the episode.
We KNOW Yotha cares about Gun. We know he's commited. But does Gun? He hopes. He wants to believe it. But Yotha has left Gun on read too many times for him to feel fully confident in this relationship yet, and that's not counting the remaining doubts about Wa. Sure Gun's hopeful, but he's also unsure and insecure.
Gun asks for reassurance in why Yotha loves him. Yotha gives a non-answer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gun calls him out. Yotha gives another NON-ANSWER that basically reinforces that idea that he needs to be happy and is only valued for being cute. We know what he means, but this isn't valid reassurance for Gun.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we got to "the scene". The shots were solid, and the chemistry was on point. But the dialogue left me depressed. I LIKE Yotha. I KNOW Yotha cares about Gun. I BELIEVE they are good for one another. I still wanted to whisk Gun away.
Yotha asks if they can go further. Gun defers saying they're not a couple.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The feelings were there. We had good, solid build up to reach this point. But you can see that Gun is immediately spiraling thinking that Yotha is pulling back because he didn't enthusiastically agree to go further.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yotha asks for them to be a couple. I KNOW this was supposed to be a squee-inducing moment. But it really didn't feel that way to me. "We can't have sex unless we're a couple? Fine, we're a couple. Happy now?" This dialogue. Woof. It cheapened Yotha's feelings SO MUCH.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we reach the dubcon. Now I can generally overlook and even enjoy dubcon with many characters/situations. As long as they're not asleep, the character can typically push back or cave in and the narrative continues. There are often kinks or other factors in play. I'll generally allow it. It's dramaland and not real life after all.
But it's not Gun's nature to push back against Yotha and power dynamics ARE in play. To be frank, he CAN'T push back against Yotha. Yotha even acknowledged the power imbalance earlier in the episode. Gun isn't Rain from LITA with an obvious "no kink". When he said "I don't know", it's because he's still genuinely unsure about where this relationship stands.
Tumblr media
He's not playing coy. He's not a brat (generally). Gun's been on an emotional roller coaster, and he hasn't exited the platform yet. HE'S NOT READY. But good puppies obey their owners even when it's something they don't want to do. And that just makes me sad.
Thanks to the dialogue, this whole scene disappointed me. It was nicely filmed. The actors did great. But the writers needed to do better by these characters.
So, I'll go backwards and remain here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yotha shielding Gun, and this mutual "are you hurt?" moment. Now that was dialogue worth watching.

I have never sent you one of these before so I hope I did it correctly. I found this very helpful because I also don't always understand the nuance or subtlety of a scene. Glad to know it's not just me.
Q. I'm not sure if you can even do this but I have autism and I struggle immensely with understanding subtext, framing, sarcasm and anything else really that I'm supposed to be able to pick up on in media. The direct dialogue or action in a scene tends to be what I take as fact. I understand that's not the case and things are always there that aren't being spoken or directly stated. Can you try to explain the Buddie stuff that points to them going canon? I want it but I don't know how to spot those clues. Does this even make sense? Please feel free to ignore this if it's not something that's explainable.
A. Hi, anon. Your question makes perfect sense and I am more than willing to try and see if I can explain or offer some context into some of the scenes. I have a friend who has Asperger's and he struggles with all these things as well so we try to explain things to him as often as he needs. For the sake of length, and not wanting to make this thread too long to keep up with, I will relegate my examples to a few things from seasons 7 and 8 only. Otherwise we would be here all day. I will start with episode 7x4 because that's the episode that is most widely misinterpreted.
As everyone now knows the episode ended with Tommy kissing Buck, keep in mind that we had spent the entirety of the episode up to that point watching Buck apparently being jealous because Eddie was spending time with another guy. The direct dialogue of the scene leading up to the kiss, when Buck tells Tommy that trying to get his attention had been exhausting, is the argument people use to show that the episode was really about Tommy. But Tommy himself doesn't believe that. The audience sees Tommy surprised by that statement, because he was also aware Buck was bothered by Eddie spending time with him, but he clearly thought Buck was bothered for the same reason the audience thought Buck was bothered, because he wasn't the one Eddie was spending time with. That's why Tommy responds with a confused/surprised "Me"? The episode played very much like Buck was jealous of Tommy NOT Eddie. The most obvious example of this was the scene in the firehouse when Eddie is on the phone in the locker room and Buck is trying to get his attention while working out. The show never tells us who Eddie is actually talking too. We don't know who's on the other end of the conversation, neither does Buck. The only thing Buck sees is Eddie laughing and having a good time while ignoring him. Tommy wasn't at the firehouse so he was never going to see Buck trying to show off around the weight room and Amazon priming a basketball to himself so he could pretend he was interested in something he knew Eddie was interested in. The other interesting thing about that episode was the way Eddie was framed, in other words shot and filmed, throughout. He was consistently lit in golden/sunlight, colors associated with warmth and happiness/joy. Tim made a point of telling everyone that the episode was from Buck's perspective which means that's how Buck sees Eddie. Buck associates Eddie with happiness and warmth and joy. The joy theme is important to remember because it comes back into play during season 8. I'm not in any way suggesting that once Buck became aware of his male attraction that he didn't find Tommy attractive, he clearly did in some capacity. But it is not out of character for Buck to over correct himself in the wrong direction. Both times he asked his partners to move in with him were direct results of his belief that he needed to make up for some wrong he had done to them. He asked Taylor to move in with him after he kissed Lucy and he asked Tommy to move in with him after his reaction to the Abby news, and Josh's speech about what they owed the older queer community. Josh said many things in that speech, a speech I did not love, but he said many things and it was telling that the only part of that speech that seemed to register with Buck where Tommy was concerned was the part about what they owed to the community that came before them. It was wrong to ask on both occasions. Taylor said yes. Tommy said no. We will get back to the Tommy one shortly but those are perfect examples of Buck over correcting himself in the wrong direction in order to avoid dealing with the actual issues.
When we arrive at season 8 we get the scene of Buck hearing all the different noise and static in his head when he's trying to calm himself down while Gerard is yelling. The only voice that is clear and audible for the audience is Eddie's voice. Eddie's voice is the one used to calm and recenter Buck. It was an intentional choice to make it Eddie's voice. not his boyfriends voice but Eddie's voice. Episode 8x6 was the biggie though. The episode is titled Confessions. It was the only episode of the season so far where Buck and Eddie didn't say a single word to one another, but I'll come back to that. Eddie was the focus of that episode, it is important to note that episodes 7x4 and 8x6 were directed by the same man. It was intentional on the show's part for these two episodes to sync in some capacity. They have kept the Buck storyline and the Eddie storyline linked since the beginning of season 7. Their storylines are connected. We see Eddie at the juice bar pick up a bottle of juice and hand it to the cashier. He changes his mind though and swaps it out for a bottle of water (a good note to have here is that in the first episode when the crew is running the stairs Buck is holding a bottle of juice, not water, once they make it to the roof). Father Brian watches this interaction and decides he wants to talk to Eddie. We then see Eddie sitting outside at a table, with plenty of empty tables around him, but Father Brian asked if he could join him anyway. Father Brian attempts small talk, and Eddie, unprompted, tells him, 'sorry, I'm straight'. This is not something television has straight characters do. It's not necessary to declare your heterosexuality. In fact it is far more common for television to use dialogue like that to foreshadow a sexuality realization for that character. It is a very common beginning to a sexuality arc. Father Brian then wants to know why Eddie swapped his juice for the water. Eddie tells him he felt like water instead and Father Brian then equates Eddie denying himself the juice as a way of denying himself joy. He tells Eddie that he's punishing himself. Then they talk about why Eddie has the mustache. Eddie tells him he wanted a full beard but the LAFD doesn't allow full beards. A very interesting conversation indeed for a character who has just explicitly stated that he's straight. We all know the term 'beard' and its history within the queer community. Father Brian then tells Eddie to do one thing that brings him joy. That entire scene was written like foreshadowing. I will skip ahead now to Buck and Tommy's break up. Tommy explains to Buck that at some point he is going to figure out what it is that he really wants and even though he won't mean to, he will hurt Tommy once he figures that out. Tommy has known since 7x4 that something is there for Buck where Eddie is concerned. But he also knows Buck is not ready for that realization yet. He makes a point of telling Buck that he's his first not his last. They also made a point of having Buck say sometimes those can be the same, meaning your first can be your last. Tommy says sometimes that can be true but not most of the time. Meaning there is an exception to that rule. The right person can be your first and your last. Tommy was not the right person. Fast forward to Eddie shaving off his mustache and doing his risky business dance.
Buck goes to Eddie following the breakup. Eddie answers the door in his underwear and he and Buck do not speak. Buck holds up a beer bottle and walks in. They don't talk. They sit on the couch in silence drinking their beers. That is the final shot of the episode. An episode entitled Confessions, and the only episode of the season where Buck and Eddie don't say a single word to one another. Again the framing of that scene is also important because of what surrounds them in the scene. Buck and Eddie are on the couch. It's right it's where they belong but the timing is not right. The blurry picture of Christopher between them on the table behind them is intentional. Christopher is missing from their little unit. Then there's the picture of Texas on the wall behind Eddie. Texas, and everything it represents for Eddie, looms over them. Those are the obstacles that have to be dealt with first. They existed in that shot because Buck, and especially Eddie, cannot escape them. They have to be dealt with and fixed first. They didn't talk because they have things they need to do first.
The last shot of the mid season finale being Buck sitting alone on the Diaz couch was also foreshadowing. Eddie is going to Texas. Yes, that scene also indicated that Buck is finally at a place where he won't be able to ignore or misinterpret his feelings for Eddie any longer. Eddie isn't there yet. Texas has to be dealt with first. Therefore Eddie couldn't be physically on the couch with him in that scene because Eddie has to leave first. Eddie has to be the one person who leaves Buck and chooses to come back to Buck.
I hope this made sense, anon. It was still longer than I anticipated. Please feel free to ask me anything at any time. I am more than happy to try and explain something as best as I can, if I can. I have no idea if this was helpful but I hope you were able to get something out of it. 🩷
Thank you Nonny! This is lovely!
Such a great breakdown of the overarching Buddie storyline for Buck and Eddie. Such a great resource for people who have trouble recognising subtext and nuance in a storyline.
I am going to add my own breakdown of the entire last Buddie scene of episode 8x08. Right after it aired someone with autism contacted me with the question if I could break that specific scene down for them.
You can find it here: breakdown of 8x08 final Buddie scene
If anyone ever needs more help in this department, feel free to send an ask. Just like Ali, I'd be happy to try and explain what the viewer is meant to take away from a scene.
Heads up! For anyone who is giving me the shifty eyes for reposting Ali's updates instead of reblogging. Read this.
