Ok I have serious brain rot about your flightless harpy au, so brain dump below

Imagine your wings were taken either bc of rarity or beauty/use. You might be endangered; Nuthatch, bearded vulture (one of my fave birds), itombwe owl, plenty of owls actually etc.

OR, just to make the loss of your wings more painful, your wings are really useful; kestrel (can hover still in the sky), hummingbird (really fast wings), condor (largest land bird, ALSO endangered), frigatebird (really distinct wings, long and held at a crooked angle)

Or really beautiful like the hoatzin, fruit dove, quetzal, kingfisher, etc

I was actually thinking of the wings being taken because of their beauty! For reader, when I wrote the concept it was because I was looking at indian roller birds because imagine having wings that bright and colorful and pretty and then having them ripped from you. The devestation it leaves behind will just be pure suffering imo, but I also really love the idea of them being taken for their usefulness 😩 the angst potential of feeling so incredibly useless and just… nothing without them. Delicious.

today's picrew: 物語コラージュ

body: a good amount of skin tones, but not a wide variation if that makes sense. two body types but does it count if its a mermaid tail??? 3 nose types but noses are very hit or miss 7/10

eyes: soooooo many eye shapes and colors. not to mention the choices for the reflections 10/10 (eyes are my weakness)

hair: no curly or texture hair but same 4 part system and! the slut strands can be a different color! ,,,, just not purple oop 5/10

representation: vitiligo!!!!! and scars and freckles. some face coverings 8/10

fantasy elements: pointy elf ear and mermaid fin ear, wings, mermaid tail

clothes: a wide variety,all super cute, and come in different colors. same for earrings and other accessories. lit struggled for ages trying to pick 10/10

backgrounds + special effects: sweet peas yall the picreator went OFF on the bg options. lit everything in the bg is customizable. in all my years of character cust. ive never seen such a detail and indepth configuration. its why this is the second one i've done bc i'm still blown away 10/10

complexity: pretty complex considering the options in everythingggg 8/10

additional thoughts: the amount of options is Amazing. tho can be hard to see on mobile device (not that i would ever recommend playing on a computer). its a pastel theme, but i would have loved some darker skin tones. it can get pretty chaotic too! here's anotha'

I may be a bit late for this post, but nevertheless, I still wanted to make it.

But no, I am NOT quitting this blog. I am NOT quitting tumblr in general!

Ok now that that’s settled…

My New Years letter to you all!

Warnings: VERY LONG….

I just want to say that I am so incredibly thankful for all of your support on all three of my blogs(even if some are more well known than others). Last year, when I had first formatted this blog, I was just a simple anon with an assigned emoji that terrorized a Gepard and Sampo blog for the fun of it. And to make them kiss, but we all knew that already. But back then, I never thought my blog would grow so much, and turn into a safe space for me to create and enjoy my OCs and interests with others.

Tumblr, as cheesy as it sounds, has actually changed my life. I’ve met so many people on this app, some that I talk to daily as well, people that I consider some of my best friends. My ride-or-dies. It may have only started with two people, but then it grew to four, then the Jarilo server was made. It was there that I got to meet so many more people, make even more connections, able to help expand more on Blythe thanks to their help, and have fun times in general. Rethinking on those times fills me with indescribable joy, and I’m glad that those joyous things happened to me.

Of course, there were bad things bound to happen throughout the year. I will not divulge as it is very old news though. But unfortunately a chain of events led to the deletion of the Jarilo server I mentioned above, and the loss of a few friends. As well as some revelations on who really are my friends and people who aren’t really to my preference of character. Those times were stressful, and while I wish things could’ve gone differently… You can’t really travel back in time to the past, right? So while I regret some things that happened, I’m glad that I am still able to remember the goof instead of dwelling on the things that made it go away.

Now you probably want me to talk about Blythe, right? Blythe, say hi.

Wow, so energetic… Anyways.

As I said, this blog used to be a substitute for an anon blog, since I was tired of forgetting to turn on anon in asks. It also made rp’ing easier, as things had started to get more serious with more events happening(which were admittedly, mostly started by me), and it was easier to reblog instead of constantly sending asks. But I never really considered Blythe’s lore until the Sampo I was rp’ing back then announced an event where he would be leaving Belobog, for reaching what I think was 50 followers at the time. I then made a post regarding the event so we could rp, and things had gotten heated between Blythe and Sampo! But back then, the name Blythe wasn’t even thought of. It was just ‘Ahanon’, as I was named by the Gepard and Sampo blog. Due to my emoji, the 🎭, and it seeming like Aha. So they combined it with Anon, creating ‘Ahanon’.

The server was still active around the time, so I was able to talk to the mods clearly about the rp and what could happen for our characters. Characters? When had I started thinking of my blog as a character and just not myself? It was that specific thread that had started to make me think more about what this blog could really be. How Ahanon and Sampo talked to each other in the thread made it seem as if they had a bond of sorts, so what if I made them their adoptive sibling? Taken in by him? A good start. I developed their personality more through role play, which helped a lot. I recommend it for new OCs, especially if you get to talk to ur rp partner during.

Back to the topic. Then I realized that I needed to make a design for them, so I got some picrew I liked and colored in the parts that I wanted to change about it. Admittedly, I had no idea what I wanted to show in their design. I hadn’t made their lore yet, I was going off the emoji I signed off for them and my impression of them during rp and in general. They actually started out to be rather tall, and eyes similar to Aventurine’s(before his drip marketing, btw). Then I commissioned a friend to draw them, as I wanted more than some poorly colored in picrew that didn’t properly fit my vision of Ahanon. So I told her what I wanted, and she absolutely delivered.

It helped me really look at Blythe. Seeing the proper design somehow made it easier to make their lore. Ah, their lore…

Honestly, I don’t remember the ideas that made me come up with their lore. And I don’t know where I came up with the idea of Maeve either, but I do remember how I made their home planet. It was because of the fact that their first design had eyes similar to Aventurine’s, and there had been a lot of theories regarding how he could be related to the Order. While he isn’t(as we know of), I thought that maybe that could be the case for Blythe. Maybe the reason they got teardrops on their face instead of the usual diamond and spade was because on their back was a birthmark. A mark that their people were born with. For what i based it off on, it was old England. Which is why all names for the planet is in Old English(i used a translator). I havent gone much into its design, but think of it as England in the 1800s.

Blythe themself has really changed my life. In one of the most best ways possible. It gave me something to do in my free time, something to bond over with others, helped me find new friends through their interactions, and helped me rerealize how much I love HSR as well, despite its flaws. And Blythe helped open a path for me to make two more OCs. For MHA and for Genshin, and I love them both just as much as I love Blythe.

Of course, this wouldn’t have been possible without all 116 of you that followed Blythe, and the 30 that followed Vera, and the 4 that followed Manami. Thank you all so much for sending love their way, and for sending me so much support as well.

I’ll be sure to make more and more content for all of them. I have a list of the things I’d like to write for them HAHAHA

his name is sleepyspark, and he's a cis tomcat (he/him but they/them is also fine)!!

he's only a few moons older than the typical apprentice (young adult of an unspecified age).

he is aroace and has lots of friends and a few platonic partnerships of sorts here and there.

he's shorter than the average tomcat and lithe because he doesn't eat much (his clanmates usually have to remind him or sit down with him to ensure he gets food. he drinks plenty of water tho! and he totally chews on grass lol)

his ears can be flopped or pointy, usually one of each.

he has a naturally short tail, not quite a nub but still much shorter than regular, more like a bob.

he has a scar on his nose/muzzle from a dog attack when he was a kitten that healed nicely but left a prominent scar. he was very self-conscious about it as a kitten, but he likes how it looks now!

he has a small scar on the left corner of his bottom lip which he accidentally gave himself while itching a scratch bc he is silly.

his back is crooked, making his shoulders lopsided (left shoulder is higher than his right) which causes him to walk sort of funny. his left shoulder has chronic pain that flares up particularly badly in the cold.

he is partially deaf in his left ear due to nerve damage as a kitten. standing near his left side or calling to him from the left is not recommended since he either won't hear you or will misunderstand what he manages to hear.

he was born and raised in riverclan and loves it there, but he often goes and hangs around twoleg places for attention. most of the clan knows about it, but he's a pretty well-liked cat and the scoldings don't seen to do much so they leave him be. he sometimes brings home toys and twoleg things (and food if he can) which helps keep the clan more neutral about it so long as he still pulls his weight around the camp which he does. they do nag him to make sure the other clans don't see him there out of reputation preservation, but he's pretty much the clans' silly guy so no one cares that much. (the two legs probably named him "silly" too lmao)

he's friendly with any cats he meets whether they be clan cats, kittypets, loners, or even rogues. in fact, he's not even limited to cats; he is also friendly with twolegs, dogs, cows, horses, and would definitely try to befriend even a fox or badger. there are obviously communication barriers, so it's not like... the same as the friendships he has with other cats. he's just Like That.

he goes along on patrols to help where he can and keep spirits and moods high, and he is known to notice details that other cats might not always catch which makes up for his lack of hunting and fighting abilities while out and about. aside from mediating and serving as a sort of clan therapist, he also plays with and watches the kits, allows apprentices to practice battle moves or healing on him, and generally performs apprentice duties like helping clean up around the camp (nests, walls, dens, herbs, etc) and working with the elders. the elders are particularly fond of him since he is very mellow, patient, attentive, and chatty.

he's always been a laid-back, chatty kittycat who sucks at hunting, fighting, memorizing herbs, swimming (he's technically a "dry-paw" bc although he doesnt mind getting wet and likes water, he can't swim and is scared to learn properly, so he never goes out past the shallows), fulfilling tasks/orders (has TERRIBLE adhd and is also a hypersomniac), and just most things in general so it was only natural he became a mediator (and THAT he is pretty dang good at!!) he was initially training to be a medicine cat, but it just wasn't his calling. he and his clan are very pleased with his position now. he has also been referred to as a "camp cat", "nursery king/tom", "camp keeper", and "permapprentice". (think of him almost as an "omega" type role.)

My team

My mom was a pokemon rescuer and she would adopt them when I was little so my childhood was involved with a lot of pokemon and basically loved pokemon ever since I was a little baby :) Some of the pokemon I had were given to me on my birthdays and some of them I caught in the wild when I was 10 thanks to my dad teaching me (he's a pokemon professor btw). Thanks mom and dad!

But anyways here's my team!

Phoenix the Blaziken ♂️

Move set: Flamethrower, Blaze Kick, Stone edge, Thunder punch

I had Phoenix ever since he was a little pokemon egg. My mom rescued the egg from a forest fire and knew when the egg hatched it wouldn't be able to survive because the eviorment got destroyed and couldn't find it's mother so she brought it home and later hatched into a Torchic. Me and Phoenix are really close and he helped me a lot during the gym challenges. He sometimes acts like a older brother figure to the rest of my team and is really nice, patient and smart!

Siren the Milotic ♀️

Moveset: Hydro Pump, Bubble Beam, Disarming Voice, Aqua Ring

I got Siren from a pokemon breeding center after I got my first gym badge. She's quite shy but loves it when I groom her. She also hates it when she get's dirty but is sweet nonetheless.

Cloudy the Altaria ♂️

Moveset: Mist, Dazzling Gleam, Dragon pulse, Draco Meteor

Cloudy was a present I got from my mom when I was 9 years old. He was a swablu at the time. He's really energetic and loves to play so he's really productive. But sometimes he can be gremlin and loves to bother my other pokemon just for fun.

Aurora the Gardevoir ♀️

Moveset: Prismatic Laser, Energy Ball, Physic, Light Screen

I caught Aurora when she was a Kirlia back when I was on my way to the 3rd gym. I managed to complete the gym in one sweep thanks to her. (She's one tough cookie!). Aurora acts like a older sister to my team so she gets along with them very well. But she doesn't tolerate Cloudy's antics and scolds whenever he does something stupid.

Apollo the Absol ♂️

Moveset: Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, Ice Beam, Swords Dance

Apollo was another pokemon I got from mom as a present on my 11th birthday. I always gushed about having an absol because I thought they were so cool. I didn't know what to name him so my dad recommended the name Apollo. Apollo also helped me a lot on my gym challenges so I'm really grateful for that. I knew that Absol's dislike fighting so I only used him if my other pokemon had fainted and he was the only one left and mostly use him for contests. Apollo is a bit more reclusive than Siren but still he's nice!

Angel the Sylveon ♀️

Moveset: Fairy Wind, Attract, Swift, Moon Blast

Last but not least Angel! I got Angel when she was an eevee. Poor thing was bullied by a bunch of mightyena so I drove the pack away with Phoenix and Aurora. I guess I got my 'helping pokemon' genes from my mom. Since then she started to follow me everywhere and I didn't wanted to leave the cute thing alone so I decided to catch her! Since then I have been taking of her with proper care, love and attention and then she evolved into sylveon and gotten much stronger. Like her name suggests she is a huge sweetheart and loves to be productive❤

This is Via our newest member of the pokemon peforming team! She is sooo beautiful, precious and I caught her last week! She is a bit shy and not much of a battler like Apollo but a kind-hearted darling♡ I am going to take good care of her!

She is a cowgirl

More specifically, her mom was a rodeo queen and the daughter of a rancher out in the middle of nowhere (she was actually born in Nothing, Arizona, which is sometimes erroneously called The Middle of Nowhere). Her dad was an electrical engineer and amateur hacker who passed his skills down to Jesse. When she started showing early signs of biotics (a shuttle crash near the family farm when her mom was pregnant exposed her to Eezo), her parents moved even further away from the city to protect her from the possibility of being hustled off to someplace like Jump Zero.

At about 9 years old, they went on a trip to the city. Her parents sat her on a bench for a moment while they went to rent a vehicle. What happened next is unclear, but there was a shuttle crash at the spaceport. No bodies were ever recovered. Still afraid of being taken by some nebulous government agency, Jesse slipped away into the streets and stayed there until she was 17. She took the fall for her girlfriend (also in the Reds) and chose to be sent to an Alliance school until she was old enough to formally enlist.

She played Johnny Cash's "I've Been Everywhere" in the Mako so many times that Garrus had to look up the lyrics (pure nonsense) to figure out what the fuck the song was talking about

She also roped the pyjak to catch it without hurting it on that one planet in the first game with all the goddamn pyjaks

I created her because I wanted to play with Mass Effect's depiction of human culture as homogenous in the era that the games take place. I got to thinking about all the subcultures that exist in the world now, and how they might look/exist in this version of the future. There might be a global human Alliance, but I imagine that all of the rich (messy, wonderful, contradictory) cultural details that exist now would still exist in that future, too. I wanted her to have a more concrete attachment to earth than "orphaned, was in a gang." You know, so it would hurt more to come home in the third game.

In this case, her background is largely formed by Hispanic rodeo culture near where I live. Extremely fun time, highly recommend reading more about it/visiting a rodeo if that's an option for you.

- ⭐️ what is one of your biggest accomplishments? Why is it so important to you? Definitely overcoming my eating disorders. I struggled for a long time and after 8 years I'm finally free from this hell. It took a lot of work, dedication and sacrifices and I'm proud of myself for surviving and thriving today. It's important because someone close to me couldn't recover from it, to this day they're still suffering in the throes of an0rex1a like I used to be. We still call each other regularly and seeing me recover and have the life they could never have has made them feel a lot better. They will most likely never get better but at least they didn't see me fall victim to this horrible disease too. My recovery is bringing them the happiness they deserve. It's important for me and for them and in the end that's why this is my biggest accomplishment as it goes beyond my sole experience. I hope to one day share my story and help those beyond my circle of friends and family

- he is kind of an honorary member of sweets fanclub. the members took notice of how the dessert menu has had a larger variety and more limited items recently and started to come by more regularly on their outings. didn’t take long to figure out that niki’s new coworker was behind this, and they started to include it in their conversations about what places they recommend, etc.

Idk if piercings like his would really be around in the 18-1900s but I'm giving him them regardless because I can🙏 The first one is his work outfit, second one is what he wears on his few days off. He has a very tragic story before he becomes a grim reaper :( hence why mitski is being played so much when working on him.

Basically he was a hooker and performer, he fell into a bad depression, felt numb to everything and chased after sex, drugs, alcohol, etc. To try feeling something :( eventually got to the point he was practically rotting in a room, just sleeping with man after man. He realized he looked yucky and his room was trashed, cleaned everything up and made himself all pretty. Everyone thought he was getting his life together finally but he actually ended it :( he wanted to be seen as pretty when he died (last words of a shooting star by mitski🙏)

Virgil was fucking pissed when he was brought back as a reaper, he still tends to lash out at William when he has bad days, not that William did anything wrong, he just needs someone to blame so he blames him. William doesn't really care and just stands there waiting for Virgil to be done so they can finish work😭

!!! Ride the Cyclone is a great musical, I'd recommend watching it or at least listening to more songs from it ! You can find a 'slime tutorial' of it in youtube if you're interested ! Also Ballad of Jane Doe and Noel's lament are really great songs, Noel's lament works for Virgil too :3

Speaking of Cupid Talia though, he's Slavic too ! He's from Carantania though he lives in London :3 he can travel back and forth pretty easily though with his ability to fly. A friend and I were horsing around last night and decided to do like a little challenge where we'd use one of those Sonic OC Picrew things to come up with an OC design for shits and grins. We used this one in particular! (https://picrew.me/en/image_maker/1249352)

Anyway, I originally wasn't going to keep my result because it was just for fun and non-serious, but I ended up coming up with this gal and I kinda like her. I've decided to give her a bit of a redesign and keep her. :)

Also had some ideas for another new non-related group (as if I don't already have enough OCs LMAO). I was gone earlier so couldn't draw anything, but I still really wanted to work on some of those designs, so this challenge gave me the idea to use one of the other Picrews to experiment with and establish a base design for 'em. And honestly? It's not perfect, but it worked WAY BETTER than I expected it to! I'll have to draw them regardless of if I use the Picrew thing or not, but I might consider doing that again in the future to play around with designs when I'm unable to draw them at the time.

Definitely can recommend using one if you're struggling with a design or want to experiment with one before fully committing to drawing it!

Hm, that sounds tricky. I assume your host can't really leave the front or block out the videos from their mind? That sometimes happens when we're dissociated enough – though of course, I don't recommend you make yourselves dissociate to watch videos. Perhaps you can work your way up to the videos you want to watch through practicing with other things, like art of people's faces or nsft posts on Tumblr? If this is a serious boundary for your host, you shouldn't cross or poke it, but those sound like some difficult dislikes to live with, so if your host gives an indication of being alright with working to combat those hates and fears, you should support them. Just don't push them too far!

Another suggestion would be to make your source videos into background noise. You'd still be watching them, but your attention would be split between what's happening in the video and whatever else you're doing, like drawing, knitting, or playing a game on your phone. One way we do this (since our ADHD demands a lot of stimulation to focus) is by putting a video up on our laptop and playing a game on our phone. We can still keep track of what's going on in the video through sound and looking up whenever we want, but we have something else to distract us if the video gets to be too much and we need to quickly pivot activities (plus, not looking at the screen would definitely help with that eye contact problem). Speaking of, watching in short increments could also help, if your host is up for that.

I have no idea how copyright applies to a system, so I don't think I can help much there. Maybe some nicknames would help? That way, you don't have to focus so much on whether your source's name is also your name, because you have a bonus name you can go by (one that doesn't serve to replace your name, because it's a nickname, not a new name). And you could try out Picrew or similar dress-up games/websites if using your source's actual face is an issue.

Overall, ask your host if there's a way you can work your way towards watching your source, or otherwise find a way to watch it that doesn't distress them too much. But if there isn't at this time, let it go and perhaps try checking out fan works of your source (or similar content to it that doesn't bother your host) in the meantime. Your host may need some time to work on getting there – but whether they're eventually okay with it or not, you shouldn't cross a serious boundary that will cause them a lot of distress. It hurts, but sometimes it's best to take a step back and find something else to enjoy.
