After the show
Pairing: alive!Reggie Peters x reader
WC: 3.2k
Summary: After being away for a few months you were finally back in Los Angeles, just in time to watch your best friend Julie perform with her band. The first time you got to see them live and get to meet them, including the cute bass player.
A/N: Here's something new which probably nobody still counted on getting from me hahah but writing has always helped me cope with some stuff and even though I hadn't pictured myself returning to this, here I am, dealing with life problems by escaping into fanfictions. So, I hope you guys still read it and like it!!
It had been a while since you saw Julie last. You had lived with your dad last semester while your mom had to go abroad for work. That left you at the other side of the country, a six-hour flight away from your best friend and your normal life.
Of course, staying at your dad's wasn't the worst. You got along great. One of the only plus sides of that move was that you could spend more time together, but you also had to get used to a new place and new people. And you missed your friends dearly. Daily Facetime calls to Julie and Flynn kept you going, but those declined in frequency as well. Everybody got busy, so these past few weeks it had been, at most, one call a week. With your upcoming move back home to California, Julie's successful debut with her band and Flynn managing them, there hadn't been a lot of time. Until now.
You were finally back in California, basking in the Los Angeles sun. The hot sand beneath your feet warmed your soul. A content smile graced your face while you were waiting for Julie and Flynn to join you. This felt like home. Definitely.
Your serene moment got interrupted as someone practically fell into you, making you tumble forward a few steps. You were able to keep standing with arms still wrapped around you. With them came a squeak and the call of your name before the figure, which turned out to be Julie, came around to your front. As soon as you saw that familiar face you pulled her into your arms again. Yep, home. "Oh my God, I missed you so much!", you said, squeezing her once more.
"Same! I can't believe you're back! Finally!" The two of you let go of each other and settled onto the sand. "Tell me everything!"
"Well, you already know basically everything," you laughed. "I mean, the last time we talked wasn't even 24 hours ago."
"I know!" Julie took ahold of your shoulders and shook you. "Way too long! I need a play-by-play of your flight."
"Uhm ok, so, when I got to the airport..." And so you told Julie everything that happened at the airport, on your flight, at the reunion with your mom, the ride home, just everything up until the point where she had joined you at the beach. "When is Flynn coming by the way? Shouldn't she be here already?" You looked around hoping to catch a glimpse of the girl amidst the other beach-goers.
"Oh yes, I forgot to say! She actually had to hang back for a bit. She was able to get us a gig tonight, totally last minute, so she had to organize some stuff, but you'll see her later when you come to the show."
"Oh, so I'm invited, huh?" You bumped her shoulder.
"Of course, you are! We made sure to have you put on the guestlist. Then you can also meet the rest of the band! They're so excited to meet you. I mean, Flynn and I always talk about you, so they're always on us about when they actually get to meet you." She laughed at the dorkiness of her friends.
She could still picture the first time you were brought up in conversation in front of them. Flynn had been late to watching the practice and when she finally did come in, she looked a little distraught. Julie had asked her what was wrong, but didn't expect that the reason for her distress was actually your distress. You had just broken up with your partner who was not ready to commit to long-distance, even just for a while, so you had called your friends in tears. The boys had immediately told Julie and Flynn to not worry about practice and call you back and be there for you. Since then, you had been topic of conversation a few times.
"Actually," she continued, "Reggie could not shut up about you being at the show today since we found out it's happening, so you can't disappoint my bassist by not showing up." Julie wiggled her eyebrows at you. That's what you get for one time mentioning that you thought the dark-haired bassist was cute and asking about him. You had kept up with Julie's band, watched all their music videos and the private photos and videos that Julie had sent you.
You felt a warmth spread over your neck and cheeks, slighty embarassed by the teasing. "Oh please, Julie, shut up." You chuckled and looked out at the waves crashing onto the beach. "Of course, I'll be there. I'm super excited to meet the band, too. And to see you perform live!" Looking back at her, you saw the spark in her eyes that had been lost for so long after her mother's death, but there it was, portraying her excitement for making and sharing her music.
The moment got interrupted by an alarm sound coming out of Julie's pocket. "Oh ok, that's me. I actually have to run now," she said while standing up and silencing her phone. "I need to prepare for the show, but I'll text you all the details and will see you there tonight! Ok, bye, love you!" She shouted over her shoulder while already walking away in a hurry. You laughed to yourself at her behavior. It hadn't changed in all this time. You stayed at the beach for a few more minutes, before deciding to go home and get ready yourself.
You looked in awe at the line in front of the club the band was playing at tonight. So many people were here to see your friend perform. It was crazy. And you actually got to walk past all these people to tell the bouncer your name and be let in before all of them. The whole experience was so surreal, but it was everything you had ever hoped for your friend. Inside was already pretty packed as well but Flynn had texted you where to find her, so you made your way through the crowd to the roped-off area at the side which was slightly elevated. You once again gave your name to the woman standing there. She scanned her clipboard before she moved aside to let you in.
You spotted Flynn pretty easily in her eye-catching outfit. She was sitting in the far corner, closest to the stage, typing away on her phone. You walked up to her and tapped her on the shoulder. "Hey there, stranger!"
She turned around quickly. Her eyes widened when she saw you standing there before she jumped out of her seat with a wide smile on her face. "You're here!" She pulled you into a hug. "It's so good to see you! Wait, let me look at you!" You were pushed an arms-length away, so that she could check you out from head to toe. "And you look amazing! Perfect! Show-stopping!"
"Well, I hope not. I did come here to watch the show after all." You took the seat next to Flynn's, catching up with her until the lights dimmed and the show started. You and Flynn immediately got up from your seats as the stage lights came on and illuminated your friend and the rest of the band. Julie's gaze quickly flickered up to where you and Flynn were standing before she started playing the first notes of the song. Actual tears sprung to your eyes as you watched your friend live her dream. You were so proud of her.
You watched her interact with the other band members while performing. They all seemed to have so much fun on stage and you could clearly see their passion for music shining through. More than once did your eyes glance over to the bassist. You had to admit that Reggie looked even better in person than on the screen. He had to know what he was doing when he put on that leather jacket for the performance. Damn.
When the show ended, you actually felt out of breath from all the dancing and jumping and singing along you did with Flynn. The whole concert was so much fun and you could not get rid of the smile on your lips. "So, I am in charge of getting you to Julie's for the after-show party," Flynn turned to you and explained.
"Wait, there's an actual after show party at Julie's? And her dad's fine with it?"
"Yeah, it's just a few people and as long as we clean up and don't make too much noise, he's chill. So, you coming?" Flynn held out a hand for you to take and then skillfully maneuvered you through the crowd. The ride to Julie's turned out to be Flynn's mom who greeted you with a hug. You three chatted for the whole ride, mainly about your last semester and the show, before she dropped you off at Julie's. Before driving off she reminded Flynn to be respectful and considerate of the people living in the house to which Flynn rolled her eyes, but promised to be on her best behavior.
After her mom was gone, she turned to you. "Ok, come on, we need to get some snacks and drinks out before the others arrive." She led you to the garage, which you hadn't entered in what felt like years, and pulled the doors wide open. The lights turned on and as you looked around you realized that not much had changed, except for some trinkets being strewn about here and there. You quickly helped Flynn get some drinks out of the mini fridge and onto the table as well as some snacks when the first few people already started arriving. You easily recognized Nick, one of the first to enter the garage. He hadn't changed much from when you last saw him, still had the same Golden Retriever look to him. Carrie was also easy to spot. She spotted the two of you instantly and came over to greet you. From your calls with Julie and Flynn you were already aware that the feud had ended and there was some kind of friendship blossoming now.
"Hi, girls!" She greeted both of you with a hug before she turned to you. "It's nice to see you! How long have you been back?"
"Oh, just today actually. Been quite a busy day." You made some more small talk with her while other guests arrived and Flynn went off to greet them. It wasn't long until the conersations stopped to greet the arriving band with a round of hollers and applause. The guitarist, Luke, you knew, basked in the applause, entering the garage with raised arms and a grin, ready to high-five his friends that were waiting for him. Julie, Reggie and Alex followed. They had the same grin on their faces, the performance high, but passed up on the high-fives.
Carrie excused herself, but you didn't stay standing alone for long as Julie spotted you and pulled Alex and Reggie over to you. "Guys, I want you to meet someone," she exclaimed and proudly introduced you.
Aley was the first to speak up. He had a nice smile on his face. "Hi! It's really nice to meet you! I'm Alex. Julie has told us so much about you, it's like meeting a legend." Julie hit him in the arm for that comment. "Hey! What? It's true! You're always talking about her like she's a celebrity or some kind of myth. No wonder Reggie-" He got cut off by another hit in the arm, this time from the bassist. "Alright, fine, I'll stop stalking! Anyway, nice to meet you. I'm gonna go over there to my boyfriend." He turned and walked right into the arms of a long-haired guy on the other side of the garage who had been engaged in a conversation with Luke.
You turned back to the other two still standing with you, holding back a laugh. Your gaze fell onto the one who had yet to introduce himself. His eyes were still trained on Alex' back, but as he turned towards you, he realized that your focus was already on him and his cheeks turned red. It only took him a moment to regain his cool though. "I'm Reggie. Nice to meet you!" His eyes trailed your body once over. He shot you a smile. "I can't believe you're even prettier in real life than in the pictures." That earned him another smack against the arm from Julie. He yelped. "Hey! That's not how you treat your bassist!"
"Whatever, go get Luke, I want to introduce him, too!" Rubbing his arm he left, pouting, to get the guitarist. As soon as Reggie said a few words to him, he came jumping right over and put his arms around Julie's shoulder, placing a kiss on her cheek. She chuckled a little at the display of affection. "Luke, I wanna introduce you to-"
He cut her off, saying your name himself. "You talk so much about her. How could I not know?!" He smiled brightly and pulled you into a hug. "Great to finally meet you! How did you like the show?"
"Ah, it was amazing! You all looked so great out there! I had so much fun and everything sounded great! You even played my favorite song," you admitted.
"Oh, and which one is that?" You told him your favorite song, him nodding along to your answer. "Yeah, great taste you got there!" He looked around the room as a group of guys called his name. "Alright, I gotta go entertain for a bit, but we'll definitely catch up soon!" He promised with a wink and another kiss to Julie's cheek.
"Is he always like that?" You asked her.
"Most of the time." She nodded before breaking out into a laugh which you joined.
At some later point in the evening you found yourself on the couch with a drink in your hand. Reggie let himself fall into the seat next to you. "Hi there!" You smiled at him.
"Hi!" The small smile he gave you made him look even cuter. "Sitting here all by yourself?"
"Well, I was just waiting for you to come keep me company."
"Oh." That took him by suprise. "Here I am!"
You tilted your head to the side a bit, taking him in some more. He was still wearing the leather jacket you liked so much during the show with a simple white shirt below it and a pair of jeans. "I really liked to watch you play. I wanted to tell you that before, but you left so quickly."
"Ah, thank you! Yeah." He rubbed his neck as his cheeks turned pink. "Sorry that I left so quickly. I actually did want to talk to you some more! Julie told us you were coming to watch us play, so I- we put some extra effort into making this show amazing!"
"You certainly did! How long have you been playing bass for?"
"So long I can barely remember. I learned the guitar first though," he admitted.
"So you play the guitar as well, wow! I've never had any musical ability. Julie's mom tried to teach me to play the piano a long time ago, but it was completely hopeless." You chuckled at the memory. It was right in this room so many years ago.
"Maybe the piano just wasn't the right instrument for you? I can teach you some guitar if you want. Or bass, if you prefer."
"Alright, I'll hold you to it, but really don't get your hopes up. It might end in an absolute disaster," you joked. "Let me actually give you my number, so we can set a date."
"Oh yeah, totally!" He pulled out his phone and opened it to a new contact. You put your number in and called yourself right after saving it.
"Now I have your number as well." You smiled at him before saving the number into your phone as 'that cute bassist'. You hoped he had seen the name but when you looked back at him his eyes were trained on your face.
An hour moved by as you kept sitting on that couch, talking and laughing with Reggie. Luke, Alex and Julie had each come over for a few minutes but left fairly quickly to give the two of you some space.
"Hey, do you want to get some fresh air? It's getting a bit stuffy in here," you suggested to which Reggie agreed. The doors had been closed by now to keep the noise from reaching the neighbors, so that you hadn't noticed it'd gotten a bit chilly. Before you could say or do anything Reggie already took off his jacket and laid it over your shoulders. You pulled it on tighter as you took a seat on the stairs, the smell of the leather enveloping you. It smelled good, you imagined Reggie to smell distinctly of the jacket as well.
"Can I ask you a question?" He asked warily.
"Of course." You assured him, placing a hand on his thigh.
His eyes fell from your face to your hand. "Are you flirting with me? Like, are you actually hitting on me?" His hopeful eyes found yours again as your smile turned wider.
"Yes, Reggie, I have been all evening."
"Oh, ok, good, so I didn't misinterpret anything." He laughed a little and placed his hand over yours that was still lying on his thigh. "You see, I think you're really pretty. I've thought that since Julie and Flynn showed us pictures of you for the first time. And now I know, you're really funny, too, and I'm just totally blown away by you, so I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me?"
"I would like that a lot, yes. You lnow, I've had this little crush on you for a while now that Julie and Flynn have been making fun of me for. There's something about you that really draws me in." You bit your lip, taking Reggie's attention from your eyes to your lips.
"So, uhm, can I kiss you right now?" He asked.
Your lips spread into a wider smile as you shuffled closer to him on the stairs. "Yes, Reggie, I'd love that." There wasn't much of a gap between your faces anymore now, but he took his sweet time letting you feel his breath on your lips before finally connecting them. His lips moved softly against yours. He squeezed your hand on his thigh and brought the other one up to cradle your face.
You pulled back a little to catch your breath. When there was a crash from inside the garage your gaze quickly flicked to the door to check if anyone was coming out. When nobody did, you turned back to Reggie. "Do you wanna go back inside or keep doing this?" You asked him, hoping for the latter.
"I think, I'd rather stay out here a bit longer." He smiled before catching your lips in another kiss under the starlit sky.

.....
You don’t remember how it started. All you knew was that somehow, it became routine for you both to spend Friday nights together after work.
At first, it was every few months, nothing structured really. A stray text, here and there. A brief "My place or yours?" or "Are you up?" sufficed whatever cravings either conjured during the quieter nights.
If he needed to be satisfied, you’d be there. If you needed to relieve stress, he’d be there. And that, for the longest time, was the determination of the relationship. There wasn't really much need for anything else. Leon was always out on missions, fighting off whatever offspring the latest virus variant had mutant and you were diligently cooped up in your tiny office, researching past strains, tracking patterns for the next possible mutations, and investigating outbreaks.
Even though you both worked at the same company, albeit in different departments, crossing paths with Leon was not uncommon. Despite the frequency, every interaction was conducted as if you both were strangers. Partly because nobody at work needed to know the personal agendas you both occasionally shared as well as the work dynamic between your titles and ranks. It didn’t matter anyways, nobody would ever catch on that a DSO agent and a researcher would intermingle in bed anyways.
But eventually, those seldom visits became monthly, always being on the first Fridays for convenience. It was weird to keep a schedule like that, especially when the appointment was solely for sex, but it’s what worked best for the both of you and neither of you had any complaints. Almost like a regular wellness checkup with your family doctor except none of you suffered from any illnesses.
Then, monthly became weekly. Both of you needn’t ask to come over anymore, practically leaving work together on Fridays. You clean up whatever case you were working on, pack up, and head towards his apartment. This was routine.
So, it was obvious what your plans for tonight were.
“L/N.” A few knocks accompanied your colleague’s voice. She was Poppy, a sweet girl from a few doors down. One of the only co-workers that was near your age.
Your desk was a mess, papers skewed everywhere from the recent case concerning a missing girl filled every square inch surface of your office. Briefly glancing up from the disarray of files, you caught a glimpse of her with her light coat and bag on, “Clocking out?”
Poppy cheered, “Yup, my shift at the bar is starting. Care to join me and the rest of the agents?”
“I’d love to, but I have plans for tonight already,” A mental image of you sitting yourself on Leon’s throbbing dick painted into your mind. Or perhaps maybe you’ll let him take the lead tonight with him pinning you down on all fours, “Maybe Saturday, if you're not hungover enough.”
“I’m always ready for a good time, hungover or not! If you change your mind, come find us downtown,” Admittedly, that’s what you liked most about Poppy. She was always cheerful, a great change of pace in the gloomy environment of your job. Not that you were overly pessimistic, you were just very logical and had a job to do. A job to find a missing girl and investigate the T-virus. So, you both exchanged goodbyes before you sighed and continued to review the deadend clues for the nth time.
“You have plans for tonight?”
You raised your eyes in surprise, sure that you were alone in the office, having this time of evening to been way past normal work hours as well as the rest of the floor supposedly at the bar. Well, everyone but him now.
“I have plans every Friday, Kennedy.” You blinked innocently, keeping your facial expression neutral as you initially reference your workload; however, the sight of him in the cursed tight t-shirt underneath his jacket immediately shifted your tone into a sneaky innuendo.
Leon was fairly well at keeping his composure, speaking nonchalantly without skipping a beat as he leaned up against your office door frame, “More important than catching up with the crew?”
You caught on to his dismissal, not willing to embarrass yourself with desperation to fix your sexual desire. Thus, you mockingly tapped your files as if Leon couldn’t see the plethora of papers for himself, “I have a case.”
“You’ve been on that case for weeks now,” As if to taunt you with silent temptation, he crossed his arms, defining his biceps. Damn him, you thought. Although you couldn't see them underneath his jacket, you could tell just by the strain of wrinkles folded in the fabric. Damn his shirt too, you thought.
You shook your head, motioning towards the bulletin board of cold trails, “I’ve got to find a lead.”
“It’s one night, you can get back to it on Monday,” Leon pushed off the doorframe to welcome himself further into your office. You thought he’d make his way to inspect your bulletin, only to be surprised when he placed himself directly across from the other side of your desk. He bent forwards, placing each hand on the edge of your wooden desk and leaning his face close to yours. Even without words, you knew he wanted you to take a break.
“I have to find the missing girl.”
“One night,” Leon sighed before taking one hand to take the files out of yours and shutting your laptop closed, “It won’t kill you.”
“It could be enough to kill the girl,” You argued.
Maybe you shouldn’t have said that to save yourself a glare from Leon. A moment of silence passed before you sighed, not in frustration but in defeat, “Let’s go before I change my mind.”
Since when did it become so hard to say no to him?
.....
“So, you decided to come after all!” Poppy cheered with a slight slur in her speech, already moving to pour you a drink, “I knew Leon would convince you.”
You gave Leon an accusatory look to which he dodged by moving to greet another colleague, “You-”
“Cheers!!” Poppy all but screamed into your ear whilst practically shoving the glass of alcohol to your lips. You quickly reacted, taking in the liquid in a few large gulps.
“Damn girl, you practice that?” Poppy scrunched her eyes playfully, suggesting that you practice with more than just drinking alcohol in your down time.
From the corner of your eye, you saw a ghost of a smirk appear on Leon’s face before disappearing as quickly as it appeared. Regardless, you shot him a dirty look.
“Take a seat!” Poppy beckoned, sluggishly taking your coat and bag.
There was only one spot left located on the far side of the table. Just as you were about to make your way, Poppy’s voice halted you, “Hey, move it, will you?”
Poppy’s question was more like a demand towards another colleague, “What? I’m already sitting here. Why should I move?’
“Just move!!” Poppy pretty much shoved the poor man out of his seat before turning towards you with a soft smile and gesturing you to sit. For a moment, you’d forgotten how this sweet girl could become a special agent, but with that display, you remembered just how tough she could be under that kind smile.
“Thanks,” You laughed nervously, not wanting to be on the other end of her wrath. You wondered why sitting here was such a big deal until you realized it wasn't where but who you were sitting next to. With a seat so hidden in the corner and a private room full of many people, you were sandwiched between Leon’s sturdy torso and the wall. From where you were, you had to ask Leon to grab any drinks or food for you.
“Want something?” Leon looked at you, ready to grab anything that you wanted.
You nodded and thanked him. You did feel bad for making him grab all the things you wanted – especially since you were known to be a menu hog – but you really didn’t have much of a choice. It was either use him to do your bidding or climb over his lap in front of everyone. Just as you were about to ask for your desired dishes and drinks, Leon already knew what to bring to your plate without you needing to tell him.
Since when did he know your favorite foods?
.....
“You’re going on the missing girl mission?”
Leon nodded, persona instantly switching to serious. His jaw tensed, brows furrowed as the tiny wrinkles creased between them. This was usual, almost like a pre-mission ritual of his to get in the mindset of gore, bloodbaths, and bioweapons. Afterall, nothing can prepare a man for the horrors that go on during those missions. Not even you. You've investigated countless missions, earning lead researcher in many strain cases, yet whenever it came to Leon being the leading agent you suddenly had so many questions, overly irrelevant and useless.
Will you be okay? How long will you be gone? What’s your mission? Will you come back alive? Are you going alone? Is it dangerous? What if you get sick? What if you don’t come-
“Y/N!”
“Huh?”
“I asked you a question.”
“Oh, sorry,” You slightly winced, holding a hand towards your head and checking to see if you were ill. It was unlikely of you to get distracted so easily. Forcing out a cough, you cleared your throat to compose yourself, “What was your question?”
“Are you okay?” Leon shares a look of worry, placing a warm hand over your shoulder as if to comfort you while his other hand replaces the one on your forehead, “You don’t seem to be burning up.”
You gulped, tongue and mouth agonizingly dry as your eyes flickering towards his touch. As much as you wanted to shy away, his touch was warm and you craved his heat. It was unlikely of him to be in such near proximity to you, especially when you both could be seen through the glass walls of the briefing room. You averted your gaze, shakily looking at his baby blue eyes so it wasn’t obvious you were fixated on his hands, “Was that the question?”
“No,” Leon admitted with a small frown painting his sharp features, “You just don’t look so well.”
“Just thinking, I guess.”
“About?”
“Your mission.”
A half-lie, half-truth. Sure, you were concerned about his mission. You're highly paid and trained to be worried about these missions, but moreso, your concerns focused on him. In actuality, you didn’t really need to, he always came back safe. On the brink of death sometimes, yes. But, still alive nonetheless.
He gave a curt nod, “I’ve got training soon, but can I swing by later to get your debrief? It’s your case, you’re the expert. I need all the help in order to save the girl.”
“Of course, how late are you staying at the office?” You brought up your schedule, double checking if there were any meetings you still needed to attend.
“Actually, I was thinking we could go back to my place?” Leon nervously smiled, eyes squirting slightly, “Um, you know, because I got to sharpen my knives before I go.”
“You want me to debrief you at your place while you sharpen your knives?” The tail end of your tone stretched to be high pitched in your confusion. Was this a joke?
Leon let out an airy chuckle, “Yeah?”
You followed suit, letting out a laugh to ease the confusion, “Sure, I guess, wanna order in?”
“Yeah,” Leon smiled, “Pizza would be nice.”
“I'll see you then.”
Since when did Leon come up with excuses to see you?
.....
“Pizza’s here!”
Leon leapt up, putting his knives and sharpening tool on the wooden coffee table and rushing towards the doors to retrieve the pizza, “Thank god, I needed a break.”
You flipped through the debrief packet, only having gone through the first few pages of the hefty pile, “It’s a lot, these people – uh zombies? – are dangerous and fucked. Better to be safe than sorry.”
“I’ll save the girl, promise.”
Leon set the pizza box and wings on the table, careful not to let the grease seeping through the cardboard touch the mission materials and quickly left to grab plates and drinks. Meanwhile, you had continued to read aloud whatever essential background information he’d need to understand the nature of this mission. You hadn’t realized you were so heavily engaged in your notes to notice Leon plating two slices and setting a drink for you before helping himself. So, you continued until you heard the sound of Leon’s soft chewing.
Looking up, you finally noticed that Leon moved to sit on the floor and rest his back on the legs of the sofa. Putting down the packet, you followed him and moved to sit next to him, “I got a bit carried away, huh?”
Leon shared a smile, showing no signs of disdain, “Just a bit. Take a break, we can get back to it later.”
You held back a yawn, disguising it as you sipped your water and started devouring your pizza. You hadn’t realized how hungry you’ve gotten. You suppose you shouldn’t be skipping lunch anymore, but you knew that you’d probably forget that change in habit the next day. You both ate in silence. Normally, you found silence comfortable, but alone with Leon? You despised it.
“You look troubled,” Leon scanned your face, “Wanna share?”
You pressed your lips together, indeed you were troubled. The sight of his sharpened knives had invoked the bombardment of concerning questions again. They burned on the tip of your tongue, begging to be spoken.
“It’s...” You hesitated.
Leon didn’t speak. Not because he didn’t have anything to say, but as if to encourage you, letting you know that all of his attention was on you and that he had no intention of interrupting you.
You sighed, “I’m just worried.”
“About the mission? I’ll save the girl. When have I ever failed?” Leon smirked.
For a moment, you laughed as well before becoming solemn again, “Not that, more about you.”
“Me?”
“Yeah, you.”
“Why?”
Without thinking, you split all the questions you’d been brewing since earlier. Pizza forgotten, you didn’t realize you’d been rambling until you’d run out of breath. Yet, Leon never interrupted you, letting you vent out.
“Sorry,” You looked away embarrassed, shoving the slice of pizza to prevent you from speaking, “I don’t know what I’m saying. I’m sure you will take care of yourself.”
If it had only been a couple of seconds, it felt like excruciating hours had passed from Leon’s silence. The room felt stuffy, the lights felt like they were shining too bright, and the sweat was sticky on the palm of your hands. The voice in your head was begging, crying for him to say something, anything. You didn’t care if he laughed in your face or reassured you. You just needed to hear something from him, so that you didn’t drown in your own thoughts. You had a tendency to overthink.
You shrinked back, heavy under the gaze of Leon. You didn’t know what to do, so you made an excuse of needing to use the restroom to escape the invisible chokehold. You hovered over the sink, closing your eyes and taking deep breaths to calm yourself. It didn’t help much, but it at least eases your heartbeat back to a normal range. Eyes now open, you pathetically look at yourself in the mirror and internally berate yourself for your foolishness. Has Leon made you lose all your self control now?
A brisk knock on the door pulled you from your thoughts. As much as you didn’t want to face Leon, you couldn’t hide in his bathroom forever.
“Leon, I-”
Leon doesn’t wait for you to fully open the door, pushing his way in and pulling your body flush against his. His lips find a way to your neck, sucking and licking at the fragile skin. You were sure they left marks in its wake. Your words are cut off with a quick moan, your hand coming up to cover your mouth in shock. You weren’t sure what made him act this way, but you definitely weren’t complaining. If this is what’s going to distract him from the previous conversation, then you were more than willing to satisfy him. Plus, today was Friday. This was routine.
Leon’s hands trail all over your body as the both of you stumble back into the living room and fall onto the couch. This was quick, this was sloppy, this was like two horny teenage virgins having sex for the first time. But you were with Leon, so all of that didn’t matter. You didn’t even undress fully, only having discarded your shirt before you got off Leon’s chest and kneeled on the floor to face him as he sat up. Greedily, you pushed up his shirt midway, half-hazardly exposing his tense abs before clinging your hands around the waistband of his sweats and briefs and tugging him free in one motion.
“Excited there, big boy?”
Leon’s cock twitched, slapping against his lower abdomen in anticipation. His length was impressive, but his girth was even more breathtaking. His tip glistened under the lights, heavily leaking with precum. You snickered internally with a silent smirk blooming across your face and eyes twinkling with mischief, amused at Leon’s erection from being untouched.
“Watch it,” Leon’s voice was serious, tone stern and authoritative with his eyes narrowed as he watched you lick your lips at the sight of him. He was always serious and demanding during sex, yet always attentive of your needs. It was one of the things that you loved about him. You had a knack for power imbalance and an even bigger knack for defiance.
You kissed his thighs, starting from his left knee upwards, skipping his begging cock and back down to his right knee. Leon grunted with displeasure, rolling his eyes at your cheekiness. Just as he was about to get impatient, you moved forward, lips barely brushing against his shaft. He could feel your hot breath, twitching in anticipation once again. Yet, you didn’t want to comply, having too much fun teasing him with your antics, “Watch what-”
Leon narrowed his eyes into slits, annoyance clear on his face and clearly ran out of patience with you. Wordlessly, he dug his large hands under your arms, lifting you up and throwing you roughly where he sat on the couch. Stunned and turned on from the sudden manhandling, there you laid upside down with your head slightly hanging off the edge of the cushion. All you could get out was a squeak of surprise before Leon grabbed your head on both sides to support you and shoved his dick in your mouth and roughly throatfucking you. Immediately, you gagged from the unexpected rough entrance, but loved his abrasiveness with you. Leon watched as you took all of him, throat bulging with every thrust. He basked in the disposition of your bobbing Adam’s apple and the lewd squelches echoing off the living room walls. Leon was normally attentive to your limits; however, he had a habit of getting carried away during oral, leading to you tapping his thigh twice and pushing him off. Instinctively, you spit out your cum mixed saliva as it slowly slid down the side of your cheek and sticking to your hairline. It’d be a bitch to clean later, but you could care less at this moment.
Eyes opened, you took a deep breath in as you gasped for air. With his left hand, Leon continued to pump himself, slick hands rubbing along his length to keep his high going. With his right hand, Leon caressed your cheek with his thumb rubbing your cheekbone.
“I’m sorry. Safeword?”
You shook your head, chest heaving, “I’m good, just give me a sec. Don’t worry, I liked it, just haven’t done this in a while.”
Leon nodded, eyes softening with slight guilt although you showed no signs of being upset, “I’ll make it up to you. Promise you’re okay?”
You kept your hand on his thigh as if to tell him that you were okay. Still with one hand, Leon took off his shirt and used it to gently wipe your face. You laughed, finding the delicate gesture humorous as he still stroked himself.
“What’s so funny, huh?”
“Nothing.”
You smiled innocently before replacing his hand with yours and sticking your tongue out to accept his length again. Leon hissed out your name, eyebrows crinkling with pleasure. You slurped him one, twice before humming in acknowledgement. The vibrations only elicited another hiss-like moan out of him. Feeding off the noises he was making, you kept at your bobbing head, licking, gagging, and kissing all along him. You took him out of your mouth, cold air blowing against his shaft causing him to shiver. He was close, and you both knew it.
“Choke me.”
It was a simple demand, but it was the green light that Leon needed to resume throatfucking you. You put your hands down, using one to sneak into your pants and circle your aching clit. You hummed against Leon, earning a satisfied grunt from him, “Keep that up and you’re gonna have to swallow.”
He released his hold from you, letting you have a moment of air. You looked up at him, challenging, “Good thing I like the way you taste, Kennedy.”
Leon responded to you with a short grunt, but you didn’t fail to miss the slight flush on his face before he thrusted himself back into your awaiting mouth. His thrusts were much more forceful and rough, basically pushing your body deeper into the plushness of the couch. Your fingers switched from rubbing your clit to inserting your fingers inside yourself. Leon’s hold on your waist kept you pinned to the couch before moving to pull your pants down to view the sight of you finger fucking yourself. He never liked it when you touched yourself when with him, but at least he could watch you while you did. Must be a pride and ego thing, you thought.
He also didn’t like when you had too much clothes on. Albeit you were definitely no less than conservative at this moment, Leon just noticed you had your bra on the whole time. He didn’t like that. His hands swiftly moved from the dip of your waist to push down the straps of your bra and expose your jiggling tits. Moments like this, Leon became obsessed with every curvature of you, latching both hands on your breasts to hold as he pounded rougher into you.
“Almost done,” He choked out like he was the one out of breath. Borderline whimpering and whining at this point, begging for release.
You encouraged him by using your free hand to grab his hip and guide him. Three thrusts later, Leon’s hips stuttered and knees fell slack as he released his hot, thick ropes of cum into your mouth. You pulled away, lapping up every ounce he gave you.
“Still okay?” Leon asked, breathless.
You nodded.
“Say it.”
“I’m okay,” You confirmed, moving to sit upright.
“Need a break?”
You shook your head, greedily bringing his hips towards you. He looked down towards your slit, messily covered in your slick, “Who’s excited now, hm?”
You rolled your eyes, scoffing, “Shut up, Kennedy.”
He smirked, teasing you, “Don’t want it now?”
You sighed in defeat, needing to cum more than needing to save your pride. You gave Leon your best pleading eyes, brows creasing in desperation, “I do want you. Please, I need you. I need you to make me cum.”
“There we go,” Leon cooed, “How would you like me? You have to tell me what you want.”
“Please, please, I want your tongue,” You sighed, “I want to cum on your tongue.”
Thoughts about begging Leon to get to it and rail crossed your mind; however, you couldn’t resist the opportunity to beg him to eat you out. Not that it wasn’t often, it was just a special treat and you were always the type to take advantage of your situations. You’d been missing his tongue, and you craved his expertise and enthusiasm despite the snarky comments that came with it.
“Copy that, agent,” Leon smirked, bending down and lifting your legs over his shoulders to bury his head in between your legs and licking a long stripe up your cunt, stopping to engulf his lips around your clit.
You sighed with bliss, curling your fingers into his hair and giving a taught tug to his blonde locks. Leon released his hold, blowing on your clit as he gripped your thighs tighter and spread them further, “Behave.”
He went to delve his tongue back into you until the shrill sound of his ringtone echoed, taking you out of the steamy atmosphere. Leon shook you off as you tried to push him away, “Ignore it.”
“But-”
“I said leave it.”
The ringtone ceased, leaving the sounds back to being Leon’s tongue pushing in and out of your hole. Only a moment later, the ringtone came back to life and now taking the both of you out of the steamy atmosphere. Leon threw his head back with a frustrated groan, “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
You bite your lip, can’t help but hold back your curiosity, “Who is it?”
“The President.”
.....
Leon was leaving. Leon was leaving for Spain. Leon was leaving for Spain to fight against an infected cult to save the President’s daughter in an hour.
Arguably, you were more nervous about his departure than him. Actually, you were more nervous than he was. All your questions from the previous night flooding your mind again. So, you took it to the company gym to let out your worries. A researcher usually doesn't occupy the training room, but you need the stress relief. Why? Because your other stress reliever was leaving the country!
“You’re hurting yourself,” Leon leaned against the door frame, clad in his tight tactical gear. Hip pouches and combat knife strapped securely on his sturdy figure, combat boots tightly tied and double knotted, and most importantly his handgun safely holstered along his belt. Although you hated the reason why he was in his uniform, you can’t help but drool over him.
You’d known you pushed yourself past your limit a while ago. The sting of your knuckles along with the faint patches of blood staining the fabric of the punching bag made it obvious. You’d been bleeding through your wrap for a while, but you didn’t care as the pain helped you forget about your worries. Technically, this was equally helping as it was hurting you.
Meanwhile, Leon pushed himself off the wall, steadily walking over towards you and grabbing both your wrists. You glanced up through your lashes, staring a bit too long in his baby blue eyes, “Shouldn’t you be gone already?”
Letting go, Leon panged fake hurt from your words, “Want me gone already?”
“You know what I meant, Kennedy,” You continued throwing punches, despite Leon’s disapproving looks. Regardless, you were thankful that he didn’t try to stop you.
“Flight leaves in an hour or so, just doing my last double checks on equipment and saying my goodbyes.”
You raised a sweaty brow with doubt, freezing mid punch and fist never meeting the punching bag, “You don’t say goodbyes.”
“I don’t.”
“So, what are you doing here?”
“Am I not allowed to be here?” Leon perked up, knowing that he would overturn you in any conversation. You stared at each other in silence, challenging the other person to say something first. Sighing, you broke eye contact, going back to punching, “You should bring a jacket. I heard the weather is pretty bad over there. Plus, you don’t look very inconspicuous.”
“Outfit screams “On my way to save the President’s daughter from contagious B.O.W.s,” right?” Leon laughed, “But, what’s on your mind?”
You half shrugged, “Just got some stuff on my mind.”
“Like?”
You.
“The mission.”
Leon nodded, face turning stern as if he were calculating battle tactics in his head already, “Same.”
Silence fell over the both of you again, but this time, awkward. You cleared your throat, turning away from Leon to grab at your water bottle, “Nervous?”
“Not really,” Leon’s demeanor switched to devious, “Honestly, just want to get this over with. I got some unfinished business.”
“Unfinished business?”
Leon’s eyes held a glint in them, patiently waiting for you to catch on.
Unfinished business. Your unfinished business. You never got to finish.
You slapped Leon on his upper chest with a hiss, “You can’t be serious!”
“But, I am.”
“We’re at work!”
“And?”
You gawked at him in complete disbelief, “And? Um, I don’t know, we could get caught, we could lose our jobs!”
Leon shugged, smiling confidently, “There’s no cameras.”
“Someone could hear us!”
“Only if you’re loud.”
You hated the smug look on his face, knowing that you were pretty vocal. It was only until your eyes followed his as he watched you subconsciously squirm and press your thighs together. Leon gently grabbed your shoulders, pressing soothing circles on your skin, "Do you trust me?"
The look in his eyes was so fierce, your lips quivered, "With my life."
Leon's hands slid down your arms and snaked them around the curvature of your ass before supporting the back of your thighs, "Jump."
And, you did. Instantly, Leon's lips peppered your skin as he buried his face in the crook of your neck. You cringed, thinking about the accumulated sweat from your workout session, but Leon didn't seem to mind. He'd make you sweat even more pretty soon anyways. You sighed with pleasure, running your hands along his arms and feeling the firmness of his biceps under your fingertips. Whilst distracted by the heat of his touch, Leon took his chance and backed you up towards the Smith machine.
“Leon, what are you-”
He hushed a whisper in your ear, causing a shudder through your spine, “You trust me, right?”
Leon looked at you, pausing all movement until you spoke a soft, “Yes.”
“Good,” Leon glanced at you through the mirrors spanning across the entire wall of the gym, “Remember to be quiet.”
Leon unraveled your blood stained hand wraps, lacing them together over your wrists and over the bar while effectively tying your hands tightly against it. Once finished, Leon gripped his hands over the ridges on the bar, unhooking it and effortlessly lifting the bar onto a higher post on the machine. You definitely didn’t miss the bulge of his biceps. Through the mirror, your arms were outstretched way above your head with the soles of your shoes firmly touching the ground.
Leon moved in front of you, back now facing the mirror while keeping eye contact with you the whole time. “Ready?”
“Ready.”
He pulled down your pants, noticing the lack of undergarments. He raised a brow and teasing smile itched to bloom across his quivering lips.
“Shut up, it’s easier to workout in,” You huffed, a bright blush rushing across your face.
Leon hummed in satisfaction, “It’s easier to eat out too.”
“Hey-”
Your scolding fizzled out into a loud moan as Leon repositioned your legs and dove under you with his tongue flicking your clit. His hands traveled up and down your legs, taking the time to squish your plush thighs. Leon kept his rhythm for a moment before pausing, “I thought I told you to be quiet. Unless you like the idea of being caught.”
You involuntarily clenched at his teasing, jaw tightening from your lack of composure, “Hurry, you don’t have that much time yet.”
“Don’t need that much anyways.”
Leon uses his hands to push away your legs, running his fingers up and down the skin of your thighs. He grips them every so often before sliding his hand around, cupping the crease just below your ass, and firmly tugging you forward with his tongue stuck out along your slit. You choked out a sigh, careful not to be too loud as you threw your head back in pleasure. With the guidance of Leon’s hand, your hips began grinding on Leon’s tongue as he licked and lapped your dripping sweetness. The sight of yourself through the mirror was lewd
“I’m- I’m almost-”
“Hold on for me.”
Leon meant it metaphorically, wanting to show off the skills of his tongue and mouth just a bit more. But he also meant physically as Leon hoisted your thighs upon his shoulders, carrying most of your weight with the help of his arms hugging you secured around your lower back. Regardless, you’d instinctively grabbed the metal bar, flexing your arms to hold yourself up. Half not to crush your weight on Leon, and the other half in need of something to grip while waves of pleasure ruined you.
You thrust your hips forward, needing more of Leon as you ached for him, “Please, almost there.”
Leon pushed you closer towards him, hoisting you higher so that his face was centered at your core. Leon pushed his tongue deeper into you just as you reached the apex of your climax. A deep sigh of relief came over you as you ground the last of your ecstasy onto Leon and just in time for his flight departure. Gently, he set you down, pulling your pants up for you and untying your restraints. Without saying anything, he took off your hand wraps entirely, blowing cool air on your scratched knuckles, “Take care of this later.”
“Take care of your mission.”
Leon nodded, switching back into his agent persona. You watched him begin to walk away before he hesitated right as he passed through the door frame, “Hey.”
“Yeah?” You cast him a longing look.
“I’m going to come back, okay? Promise.”
Since when did Leon make promises?

may i please request childe reuniting with his girlfriend after being away for MONTHS? they’ve only been communicating through letters (whenever he has the time to write, of course) and he comes back with all the letters she sent to him?
Every day he spent without you was another day he spent missing you. He’s glad that mail is reliable for the two of you because if he had to simply suffer through not being with you with the addition of not being able to talk to you until the two of you reunite. He’s upset that he can’t write you back as frequently as you write him but it doesn’t mean that he’s any less dedicated to your letters. He makes that known by him writing you telling you that even if you don’t get responses by him he wants nothing more than for you to write him at the same frequency you’ve been doing this entire time.
You treasure every letter he sends you, re-reading them to the point where you’ve memorized each and every single one. You can faintly smell him on the pages, reading them in his voice as you remind yourself that every day that passes is one more day closer to his return.
The months are hard but you two persevere. Childe knows that once he’s back in your arms he won’t be leaving for a while and that thought is what carries him through on a daily basis. Just thinking about you improves his mood drastically, Childe more than happy when he’s finally given the go ahead to go home. He can’t get there fast enough, barely dropping off his things before he’s off to see you.
When you open the door you don’t expect to see Childe standing there, panting with a bundle of letters in his arms and a wide grin. You quickly recognize your own penmanship on the outside of the envelopes, your grin just as wide as you realize that he’s holding each and every single letter you’ve ever written him. He carefully puts them on the table before hugging you tightly, breathing you in desperately to try and make up for lost time.
The two of you end up laying in bed together and cuddling, just holding each other as he goes over his favourite parts in your letters. He tells you how much he loved reading them all and how they got him through tough days. You find yourself melting a little under his affectionate words, not sure what to do as he laughs lightly to tease you.
He keeps all of your letters in a box, wanting to make sure they don’t get damaged over time. You know which box it is because he’s shown it to you on several occasions, box almost as full as your heart is with love for him. He always gives you a cheeky grin as he adds new letters into it, holding you tightly as he puts them all away carefully.

i keep thinking of the scenario if electrician were to run into ppl of her past like izzy from new years… i like imagine her going “ bunny it’s been so long you look better then ever “ and electrician is like 😀 do i know you..? due to their gaps in memory (i’m also interested how much their memory will affect them as the story progresses, i myself suffer from the issue and being young it’s kinda scary sometimes 😞)
This ask made me write something! This is set pre-RTC in the earlier days of MC’s sobriety. They’ve just moved to New Ebott here.
Read it on AO3 or read it below!
Licence
You’re leaving the DMV, of all the fucking places, when it happens.
Most people hate the DMV but you had practically skipped into the place for your eleven am appointment, overcome with joy at the thought of getting your driver’s licence back. The public transportation in New Ebott is great and your ass looks amazing after all the cycling you’ve been doing when the weather is nice, but there’s something about the independence of a car that you’ve missed. With your licence back, your employment prospects won’t be limited to the boundaries of public transport and your stamina when pedalling.
With your licence back, you’ll be able to go to school.
That’s the thing you’re most excited about. School. College. University. Whatever. You just want to learn something, to use the brain that you’ve let go to shit. You don’t even care what - at this point, with your dismal record and embarrassing results from high school, you’ll take what you can get.
You’ve wasted enough of your life and you don’t want to squander a second more.
After tucking your brand new licence safely in your back pocket, you leave the DMV, still smiling, and make your way to the bus stop. You’ll miss catching it; all the drivers are lovely and it’s nice to be driven around the city, like your own personal tour.
You’ve got time to kill until the bus arrives, so you open your phone and start scrolling through hundreds of second hand car listings.
You’re not picky; you have a tight budget and will probably hit your fair share of curbs in it anyway, but it’s nice to look at the fancier ones and dream. A convertible sounds nice; there’s a bright red one for sale, way outside of your budget. You imagine the wind in your hair, the sheer cool factor of rolling down the street with the top down. Oh, or maybe a motorbike; you had loved your stupid, ugly little scooter, and a motorbike would be even better. And you’d get to wear all the sexy leather gear. Double win.
“Oh my stars, do my eyes deceive me?”
The cold hand of panic twists through your ribcage and wraps around your heart, fingers taking hold and squeezing.
You know that voice.
You turn around.
On the sidewalk are two people staring at you with equally ecstatic expressions and you only recognise one of them.
Izzy looks… well, she looks good, you suppose, clothes fashionable and scales polished to a sheen, though you can see a few of them are missing. The spines on her head are droopy, a little paler in colour than what you remember, and there’s a beadiness to her eyes that you never noticed before.
You haven’t seen her in months but from how unfamiliar she looks, it feels more like years.
“Damn, you’re looking good!” says the man you don’t recognise.
And you know that you knew this person once, can hear the echo of his voice through the fog of your memory, even recognise his hands for the way they’d felt on your skin, but there’s something missing, something your stupid, ruined, useless brain is unable to grasp.
“Hey,” you say, affecting your brightest party-girl smile. “Long time no see.”
“Fucking hell, no shit!” the man laughs. He’s handsome, tall and very blond. “How’ve you been? You look so different.”
With each month you add to your sobriety, you’re told that with increasing frequency. You don’t really see it yourself - you feel like the exact same person most of the time. Worse, even. You’re horrible to be around when you’re in pain.
“Good, really good,” you say. “How have –”
“Dude, I thought you were dead!” Izzy crows, looking delighted. “You just disappeared, like that.” She snaps her fingers, a jarring scrape of scale-on-claw.
“Yeah, we all thought that Jesse threw the bunny out with the bath water,” the man says. His tone is light, like it’s a fucking joke or something.
This person is a stranger to you. You couldn’t even guess his name if you tried. And yet he knows about that —
You tense. Pull a smile to your face. Do your best to shake off the phantom feeling of ice crystallising on the tip of your nose. “Nah, I’m not that easy to get rid of.”
And he laughs and so does Izzy and you laugh too, even though it feels like glass in your throat, because what else can you do?
“Well, I’m glad,” says Izzy and then she sweeps you up into a hug. She smells like old perfume clinging to unwashed clothes and you can feel a faint tremble in her hands as they grip your back.
You hug back, even though you suddenly feel strange and unwieldy, like your arms aren’t your own.
I want to go home, you think. Another thing you’d be able to do if you just had a fucking car and hadn’t lost your fucking licence in the first place.
Izzy pulls back but then the man swoops in to take her place. You’re pressed to the line of his body, and though you’ve probably seen it naked, touched it all over, the feel of it is foreign to you.
You let go first.
“What’re you doing in New Ebott, anyway?” Izzy asks.
“Just passing through,” you lie, because fuck if you’re letting her know that you live here now. “What about you guys?”
“Same thing,” Izzy says. “We’re crashing with Palyso at the moment, remember him?”
Nope.
“Oh, yeah, totally.”
“Yeah, good guy, really funny. Hey, he’s actually having a party tonight, you should come! Just like old times.” The stranger waggles his eyebrows at you.
You don’t need to remember the specifics to work out what he means.
“Yeah, come with us,” Izzy begs. “Everyone’ll be so happy to see you. I’ll make it worth your while, I promise.”
The itch you’re not allowed to scratch burns. It’d be so easy, so fucking easy, to say yes. What’s one night? You don’t even need to use; who says you can’t have fun sober?
The word yes sits in your mouth like a hot coal and then the memory of water, cracking with thin shards of ice, washes over it.
The desire is gutted out. Not even smoke remains.
“I’ll sit this one out,” you say.
“Aw, c’mon, bunny! You’ve gotta—“
The sound of an engine rumbles behind you and your soul sings with relief.
Thank you, timely public transportation of New Ebott.
“This is me,” you say, hoping you sound apologetic. “It was nice seeing you guys!”
You don’t wait for a reply, practically flinging yourself onto the bus. The driver gives you a concerned look - you’re a regular and most of them know you by name - but you just give her a reassuring grin, because you’re fine. You’re fine. You’re completely, one hundred per cent fine.
You take a seat near the front and stare down at your hands. You think of the way Izzy's shook. The way yours had once. The way they don’t anymore. You hadn’t noticed that until now.
God fucking damnit.
Stupid, unwarranted tears prickle hot at your eyes and worse, there’s something sharp poking you in the butt.
Fearing that you’ve sat in something that’ll rip a hole in your pants - wouldn’t that be your fucking luck - you lift your hips and grope blindly at your ass.
Oh, right.
You forgot that you wedged it in your pocket after leaving the DMV.
You look down at your brand new licence, turning the shiny plastic card around in your hands. Your own face stares back up at you.
You dig around in your purse and from the very bottom, unearth the remains of your old licence, kept purely for sentimental reasons. It’s cut clean down the middle, made unusable the moment you’d lost it, but the image of your face is still intact.
You compare the two, side-by-side. In the new one, your face is fuller and your skin smoother. Your lips have colour to them and your eyes are bright and awake, the whites white rather than bloodshot yellow.
In the new one, you’re smiling.
Huh. You see it, now.
You do look different after all.

I have resisted writing my thoughts on La Pluie this week because I have too much on my plate. But the urge is strong and I am weak.
First Lomfon
Anyway... I want to say something about Lomfon. I love him and I've been intrigued by him since day one. He is a lost puppy that has made ALL the mistakes. I read @heretherebedork 's worries about Tien and Lomfon and I think we can trust that they will be fine. Lomfon is now starting to go back and fix the mess he's made, and he starts with Tai. we can thank @syrena-del-mar for putting it wonderfully here - Tai is self-obsessed and self-absorbed, so his conversation with Lomfon in ep 11 is really lighthearted. He is the one not taking things too seriously because it's not about himself. It is about Tien so Tai is all he will be fine, he always ends up fine, it's fine, trust me, I know him, I know what he likes, just talk to me, I'll help you out. This is not about me, and I told you I'm good so relax man. It's gonna be fine.
On the other hand, Lomfon is about to die of seriousness and pain. You can see on his face how much he needs to make things right with Tai before he allows himself to fix things with Tien. Lomfon knows Tien, and he knows that his main concern is Tai's emotional wellbeing (seriously, you put it so well @syrena-del-mar ), and there is no way he will be fine moving ahead with Lomfon unless Tai is good.
Then Communication
This all leads me to something that I've been wanting to say for a few weeks now. I find it most interesting how this show comments about communication in relationships. It came together for me this ep when they paralleled Tai's soulmate connection with his parents' soulmate connection. What keeps their love for each other, be it romantic or not, is the fact that they were and still are communicating through it all. They have real conversations both when it rains and when it doesn't rain. And they keep communicating even after the divorce. They are using their soulmate connection the way they should.
I really get Tai here. He is a kid who only gets part of the picture (as all kids do) of his parents' relationship, and he makes assumptions on which he bases his own actions in his own relationships.
What I mean is that because he also suffers from hearing loss, he is the only brother who can't witness his parents communicating as soulmates. When it rains, he turns inwards and also turns sort of blind. He doesn't really learn anything from his parents' experience because he can't see it. He knows how to communicate with his environment, and the show establishes it in the opening when Tai reviews all the different ways people with hearing loss can communicate with people who hear. The thing that he's missing is the ability to communicate with people like him - mainly the one person he needs to communicate with, which is his soulmate and potential romantic partner. From his POV there is no need to put in the effort with your soulmate because you can hear each other when it rains. AND THAT IS ENOUGH.
Well Tai, I hate to be the bearer of bad news BUT you will need to learn that relationships need communication. Hearing is not listening. Having a soulmate connection doesn't mean being able to read each other's minds. It is a basic connection that needs to be built upon, but will not last without communication. When Patts is screaming at him communicate with me! Tai can only respond with read my mind and find out because he hasn't figured it out yet.
I liked how Tai had to lose the hearing loss, and consequently the soulmate connection, in order to understand what communication should look like between partners. When he'll get back together with Patts, it's not going to be rebuilding, it's going to be learning and building from the ground, because Patts and him were not communicating on the same frequency. Patts was communicating, while Tai was only hearing.
So, to sum up, I love this show.

Hob Gadling and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week
but cheer up, Hob. You get a Dream out of it!
Alternative Title: In Which Destiny Gets Tired Of Two Idiots Dancing Around Each Other And Does Something
This is for the Jan prompt Fake Dating for @yearoftheotpevent. Also fulfills another prompt, but I’ll leave that a mystery :D.
Thanks to @wolfe-marvin (hope I got the right person) for being my beta!
I’ll crosspost this on Ao3…soon. Before the end of January. Would love it if I got constructive criticism in the meantime!
Hope you have as much fun reading it as I did writing it.
Mary’s party was okay.
Hob probably should’ve had nicer things to say about his friend’s party, especially a friend he’d known for years now, but the truth was that he wasn’t feeling it. He wasn’t feeling the board game room, or the table tennis tournament, or even the room where everyone was watching the news, waiting for the countdown to start. He wasn’t really feeling...
People. Hob laughed at himself as he headed for an unoccupied balcony. He was socially exhausted. Probably should’ve realized earlier, what with over six hundred years of experience. What he wanted was to be alone.
Well. Not alone, per se. He’d be fine with the company of one other, as long as that one other was his oldest Friend. They’d increased the frequency of their meetings, but even so, Hob hadn’t been able to get a meeting to land on New Year’s Eve. Instead, they were meeting tomorrow, so it was all he could think about (not that he wouldn’t be paying full attention to his Friend if he was here).
The new year likely didn’t have any significance to his Friend. Hob had been around for many, many years, his Friend likely even longer, and today’s party was just minuscule compared to the gigantic parties he’d been to for each turn of the century, especially 2000.
That didn’t mean this year couldn’t be significant. He’d seen his Friend several times in the past year, and they planned to meet many more times this year—that was pretty significant already to Hob. He should make a New Year’s resolution about his Friend.
I will confess to my Friend.
But was that too fast? It took him centuries to get his Friend to admit they were friends, and Hob still didn’t know his name.
At the same time, with only one day of meeting over the centuries, it technically only took him seven days to achieve it.
The fact that Hob was in love with his Friend was kind of pathetic either way, but he could probably pretend it only happened after their more frequent meetings started, and then, once he knew his Friend wasn’t going to run away, he could tell him.
Besides, it was a resolution for the whole year. He didn’t have to do it the next time he saw his Friend. He could wait a month. Or two. Or several. It wasn’t like he didn’t have time.
“Robby! What’re you doing out here all by yourself?” Mary sounded genuinely confused, and Hob didn’t blame her. Without any context, he’d think his behavior was strange, too. “It’s almost time!”
“Oh, is it? Can’t miss that!” With a bright grin, Hob slung an arm around her shoulder and led her inside as if he’d been the one retrieving her.
As she said, the countdown was in the final stretch. Everyone had packed into the biggest room, leaving barely enough room to breathe, let alone add two more people, but Hob powered through to reunite Mary with her best girl friend. Once he’d done that, he backed out to the nearest wall, taking whatever bit of space he could.
The countdown hit zero. While everyone was cheering and kissing their partners, Hob imagined kissing his Friend.
———
Hob woke to the disorientating feeling of split-second freefall before landing heavily on a hard surface with a thump. He groaned. Where did the meadow go—oh, wait.
Now, he was awake and remembered what happened. Parts of it, at least. He distinctly remembered the feeling of annoyance that came with having to flee from a woman (a friend of a friend of a friend?) who wouldn’t leave him alone. That had been at a party, Mary’s party for the new year. Everything else was just flashes.
He was hungover, he knew that much, though he didn’t feel as bad as he would expect after blacking out for most of the night, falling asleep on the couch, and then falling off the couch.
Hob narrowed his eyes at a familiar presence. “Friend?” he asked as he pushed himself up off the ground.
Those gorgeous eyes—
His Friend was, indeed, there, looking down at him. At his silence, Hob got the impression that his Friend had said something that Hob somehow missed. When asked to repeat himself, his Friend said, “I have a request.”
“And I’d love to hear it, if you give me some time to freshen up.” He started to head to his bedroom before pausing. “How long have you been here?”
His Friend replied in monotone, “I was here when you arrived.”
“Since I came home?” Hob repeated with no small amount of surprise. At his Friend’s nod, he asked, “Why?”
“It is...an important request. Important enough to wait for you to be sober.”
“Okay...” His Friend had never asked anything of him beyond their deal for him to tell his experiences. Hob was unsure as to what else he could do. “I’ll be quick, then.”
True to his word, Hob showered, changed, and did everything else to freshen up within the next fifteen minutes. “Okay!” he called as he went in search of his Friend, “What did you need?”
He found his Friend sitting on the couch Hob had been sleeping on, inspecting the tv remote. His Friend quickly set it down and stared at Hob as he sat down in a chair across from him.
I’ve been the subject of my Friend’s gaze before, but that wasn’t after he showed up unexpectedly, after he apparently took care of me while I was blackout drunk, after he watched over me in my sleep for I don’t even know how long, or after he was in my home while I was naked—
“...’re supposed to have...guests...and Destiny has told me that I shall bring one...”
Having spaced back in, somehow, Hob got the feeling that that wasn’t just a name like it was for most people, but that wasn’t as important as the fact that his Friend needed him. “So you want me to come to a party with you?”
His Friend narrowed his eyes at Hob, and, as if repeating himself, said, “A family dinner, yes.”
Hob didn’t say anything for a moment. He got the feeling...but no, surely his Friend wouldn’t hide something from him if he truly needed to know it. “Of course. So, who should I expect to see?”
“Five of my siblings shall be present. Destiny is the oldest...I believe he is bringing a man named Tobias Indiana. Death is als—”
“Death?” Hob interrupted with no small amount of disbelief. “I thought, well, I thought you’d have some sort of power over death. Given,” he gestured to his Friend’s entire vibe. Not that he isn’t attractive—
“...my older sister is...much better with humans than I. She is also bringing a human. Jonathan Geiger impressed her when...he won a contest against Lucifer.”
Was that a joke? Was his Friend taking the piss? Either he was (unbelievable) or Lucifer was real (equally unbelievable).
“Of my younger siblings...Desire is bringing a deity named Ekeko. Their twin sister...Despair...is bringing...I think it was...a ghost.”
A ghost? As in, an intangible dead person who could make things float and possess people? They were real?
As though he could read Hob’s mind, his Friend continued, “Perhaps...they shall not be as you expect. Ghost is simply...the closest term for them...in English.” His Friend didn’t elaborate beyond that.
“My youngest sibling...Delirium is bringing...” His Friend let out a sigh, suddenly looking much older as he stared at the floor. “A Knocker.”
If there was one thing that could be counted on, it was good big brothers being protective over their younger sisters. “You don’t approve?”
“Delirium has one requirement for her guests...that they amuse her. Death informed me that she attended the last family dinner with a demon whose goal was to take vengeance against us Endless.”
That sounded like Hob had stumbled upon another can of worms they did not need to open at the moment. He quickly redirected onto the most harmless-sounding and most curious part of that, the last word, endless. “Is that another word for immortal?”
“That is the word for my siblings and I.”
This was probably the best opportunity he was gonna get. His Friend couldn’t misunderstand this. “So it is some sort of requirement that your name start with De-?”
His Friend took a deep breath.
Hob leaned in. What was it? Delicious? Deception? No. Destraction? Uh, Deal? No. Dear? Hmm. Deer? Definitely not. None of them fit his Friend.
“My name is Dream.”
Nothing could have fit his Friend, Dream, better. It’s perfect. Dream’s perfect. I wanna just say his name over and over— “So you know things about people because you know their dreams?”
“Yes.”
“Wait, but is it like asleep dreams, or aspiration dreams?
“Yes.”
Okay, so this was just one of those things Hob was going to give up on and stay confused about.
Like how throughout this conversation he seemed to be missing snatches of time here and there, as if he was a computer with files getting corrupted.
Hob cracked another joke to get his mind off of that, “I don’t have to worry about Death being mad at us for helping me avoid her, right?”
Dream (!) gave him an incredulous look. “Of course not. You would not be able to escape Death if she did not allow you to live. No...you should be more concerned about the rest...of my siblings.”
His Friend suddenly turned the full force of his stare on Hob. It’s still overwhelming, even more so because Dream’s so fucking concerned for Hob—
“...able?” Dream was saying, his gaze now expectant.
Hob blinked at him. “What?”
“I merely asked that you inform me if any of my siblings...threaten you. Is that agreeable?”
“Well, you’d know your siblings better than I would,” Hob decided, then teased, “You’re the reason I’m coming, so naturally it falls to you to protect me, my lord.”
Dream’s eyes widened, and he raised his voice, “You must not call me that—my siblings expect us to be close!”
Hob had jerked away from him, staring frozen with shock. I’ve never seen Dream like that before—
When he had zoned back in, his Friend had averted his eyes. There was a pause, and then, “Perhaps...I should be...truthful.”
“During my meeting with Destiny yesterday, he told me that I would visit you. I would...begin a romance with you...that was why I would bring you to our dinner.”
That was a possibility? That could’ve happened?? Or maybe that can still happen??? What do I have to do to make that happen?!?!? Even just one kiss—
Dream had moved closer, expression and tone full of concern. “Hob?”
When he’d recovered, hesitant and more than a bit bewildered, Hob tried, “I’m sorry, mate, but I don’t—”
“I did not expect you to.” Dream sighed. “His methods are incomprehensible to all but himself. You are under no obligation to be...romantically involved...with me.”
“Nevertheless, I ask that you appear to be. That is the nature of your status as my plus one...that is what my siblings shall expect.”
Okay, so his Friend would hide something that he truly needed to know from him.
Well, at least Dream told him. Hob wasn’t exactly volunteering the fact that he kept missing bits here and there. Beyond that, he also got the feeling he himself was hiding something else, and had been for a while, that he was forgetting about...but that had to be the guilt.
“That’s fine with me.”
(This was still, after all, the first thing Dream had asked of him. Hob really, really, really didn’t want to lose this friendship. And hey, it wasn’t like this was a fanfiction—there was no way Hob would fall in love with his Friend.)
———
They hashed out the details. He found out when (at night in a few days) and where (Destiny’s castle), how he would get there (when he went to sleep, Dream would find him and bring him out of his dream into the Collective Unconscious). He learned exactly how wary he should be of each person and why.
Hob went about his days as normal between then and the dinner. He had the rest of the day and the next off, but on the 3rd of January, it was back to business as usual for his job. Good thing this was dinner, and not breakfast or luncheon.
There was also the New Inn to consider—though he’d hired someone else to run it and never, ever ask who he was or let anyone know they weren’t actually the owner, there were still decisions for Hob to make. Decisions that, as someone living above the New Inn, he had a stake in.
Then, the day of the dinner was upon them.
Dream’s realm, the Dreaming, was amazing. He’d had to go to sleep shortly before 6 pm, not a challenge after living for so long and being in so many wars. The problem with using his techniques for falling asleep quickly was that usually, it gave him bad dreams.
“Where are they?” Hob was naked, opening every drawer in his apartment, but he’d forgotten where he put his shirts. Not a single drawer had shirts or anything to wear on his upper half. “Come on, come on, they’ve gotta be around here somewhere!”
Then he was at his high school. He’d forgotten where everything was, and he was late for his class. “Excuse me, can you give me direction?” Nobody could help him. A clock ticked ominously.
When he finally made it to his room and started class, he realized he’d forgotten what he was teaching. Nothing on his notes made any sense—he’d forgotten how to read his own handwriting. One of his students raised their hand. He couldn’t remember their name.
“There you are.” Dream raised his arm gracefully, and their surroundings changed in a whirlwind of power that buffeted Hob even though it didn’t touch him. When it settled, they were in a throne room.
His jaw hit the floor. He had to turn in a circle, and then do it again, to be sure he saw every inch of the gorgeous place he found himself in. The statues, the arches, the stairs, the stained glass windows, the throne, the King himself—
Ugh. This was happening again. He’d gone hours without missing time, and it had to start happening again right before the important dinner?
Dream was smirking at him. “Is it to your liking?”
“Yeah,” Hob breathed out. “This might be the most beautiful place I’ve ever been in.”
His Friend’s smile widened into a more genuine one. “Is that what you intend to wear?”
“Ah...” Hob looked down at himself. He was clad only in nice pants and shoes. Why—oh, right, his dream. How had he not noticed? Dream had been looking, was looking, at him shirtless—
He cleared his throat and looked up (not at Dream; he couldn’t just let his Friend see his embarrassed smile), “Do you have any—”
“You are in the Dreaming. Anything is possible.”
Oh. Neat. Hob lowered his head again in thought. The first outfit he could think of was one of Harry Osborn’s outfits in Spider-Man 3, where he had on a white vertically striped button-up, then a blue shirt, then a dark brown overcoat. In an instant, he was in them.
He looked up and found Dream giving him a contemplative look. “What?”
“It is no matter. If you are ready, come; we shall go to my brother’s castle.”
———
Destiny towered over everyone else in a long, light-colored hooded cloak. He had a book chained to his right wrist, and his left hand was another person’s hand. “Brother, this is Tobias Indiana. Tobias, this is my brother, Dream, and his partner, Robert Gadling.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you,” Indiana said, extending his hand. He appeared...normal. There was nothing that differentiated him from any other middle-aged man.
Hob shook it with a similar greeting. Dream simply glared at it.
Indiana, for his part, didn’t let it get to him. “Oh, you are a prickly one.”
“Tobias is very eager to show you his art. Won’t you come with us and see?”
Dream glanced at Hob.
“Oh, and your beloved can’t come. Tobias is very shy.” Indiana looked, in no way, shy. In fact, he seemed like a confident, unbothered person. “He wouldn’t be able to bear it if anybody else saw his work.”
It said something about how blatantly Destiny lied that he still managed to get Dream to do what he wanted.
Hob watched their backs as they headed for a hallway before realizing that, without Dream, he was a sitting duck. Sure, he didn’t have to pretend to be infatuated with his Friend anymore, but anybody could walk up to him and trap him in a conversation.
A woman’s voice said, “Robert Gadling.”
Fuck, he was too late.
Hob turned around with resignation to face the woman, only to find that she actually...didn’t seem so bad. She seemed distinctly maternal, despite the fact that most people seemed young to Hob.
The boy that was with her, on the other hand, had no hidden depths. He looked like any other overconfident teenage son of a farmer.
“That would be me, and you are—no, let me guess,” Hob cut himself off when he saw her ankh necklace against her all-black clothing, “Death?”
She beamed and nodded.
“And that would make you Jonathan Geiger.” Wait, Dream said his siblings were romantically involved with their plus-ones. This was a little concerning.
“It’s Johnny,” the kid corrected in a Southern American drawl. “An Ah’m 63.”
Well, that made Hob feel a lot better, but there was an unspoken ‘I’m older than you’ that he couldn't let stand. “I’m over 10 times that.” He shrugged, “When you're as old as I am, there’s no way to know your exact age.”
“Who ya with? Mah gal’s the embodimin’ ‘a Death,” Johnny challenged.
“My boyfriend is all Dreams and Nightmares. He’s basically everything you can imagine.”
“How’d ya get yer immortality? Ah beat the devil in a fiddle-playin’ contest.”
“I just didn’t die.”
“It’s actually because you called me stupid right in front of me.”
Both of them turned to Death, Johnny furious and Hob with the blood drained from his face. “I did?” he asked, in disbelief—not that he’d done it, but that she’d apparently granted him immortality rather than killing him on the spot.
“Oh, don’t be like that. I don’t get mad at words said in grief. It’s human nature to fear my realm. Despite the fact that my siblings’ are much scarier than mine,” she muttered. “I only get mad when my siblings are hurt.”
Death looked at him.
It took a moment for it to click for Hob that he was dating Dream, so this was a shovel talk. “I’ll keep that in mind,” he answered weakly.
“But—hey, listen to me—that goes for you, too.” She poked him in the chest. “My brother has proven himself to be an idiot on multiple occasions, as I’m sure you know.” Somehow, she said it without even a drop of malice. “If he hurts you, you can always call me.”
Hob agreed, “I’ll do that.”
There was a pause.
“Well, we ain’t gonna take up anymore ‘a yer time,” Johnny, the scoundrel, smirked. “I know that gal Delirium’s bin dyin’ to meet ya.”
———
“Hello, Hob! Hobsie! Hobby! Hobert!”
Delirium was a short, thin girl with a high-pitched voice on the cusp of her teenage years. She had untamable hair in a rainbow of bright colors, and her clothes looked like they’d been chosen independently of each other. Those were the only immediate constants Hob could find about her appearance—everything else changed multiple times a minute.
“They should call you David. Or Patrick. Or Nick. Or Charlie. Or Connor. Or Oliver. Or Ian. Or Mickey. Or Yusuf. Or Nicoló.”
What.
“Oh, uh, I’ve stuck close to Robert for way too long to consider changing it,” Hob tried.
Delirium nodded sagely like a little kid.
She was with a Knocker, if he remembered correctly, a little shorter than half her height. He had a copious amount of wrinkles, a somewhat large head compared to the rest of him, a long white beard, and he looked like he hadn’t bothered to change since leaving the mine, complete with a pickaxe in hand.
“What about you?” Hob asked him.
“I’m Pasco,” the Knocker said in a voice just as high as Delirium’s.
Delirium grabbed Pasco’s surprisingly long arm and bounced up and down. “You’re such a Deary,” she told Hob before scrunching up her face and varying her appearance. “No, a dory. A ducky. A bucky!”
“Thank you.” Hob hoped that was a compliment.
She giggled. “You’ve got something on your back.”
“Oh.” Hob looked over each shoulder once. “Not, like, the Trickster Beetle from Doctor Who?”
What? He was British. It was practically instinct.
Her eyes widened and her clothes shifted again. “No! No, don’t worry, that’s already dead for you.”
Well, that was a relief.
“No, smaller. They’re circles.”
He leaned forward, laser-focused on her words. “Uh, moles?”
She shook her head.
“Hives? A rash?” Hob asked desperately.
Tears filled her eyes. “They’re gonna get you.” But then she looked behind her, where a short mustached man in a poncho and an Asian woman covered in blood were dancing. When she looked back at him, her face was blank. “It’s gonna hurt.”
It was only when she and Pasco were walking away that his mind cleared. That...had all been gibberish. Of course, he was sure it made sense to her, but there was no need to get worked up about it. Even if he would get hurt in the future, he was over 650. Hob could handle it.
———
“You’ve been in my realm a lot recently.”
She was a large woman in comfortable clothes with limp, unwashed hair and a large hook on a ring that she was toying with.
Hob had met Dream, Destiny, Death, and Delirium. He didn’t think it was much of an assumption to think he was talking to Despair. “Have I?”
Her quiet voice cut at him, “You shouldn’t be.”
He stared, taken aback.
“If you’re suffering, then so is my brother. He’s suffered enough.” She turned and walked away.
———
Hob watched the door Destiny, Indiana, and Dream had left through. They still weren’t back yet. How long could Destiny’s contrived excuse take?
“Oh, you’re good,” Desire purred from behind him.
Hob whirled around and came face to face with them. His expression hardened. Coming from the one that Dream had warned him the most about, it was basically an insult. “And why’s that?”
They elaborated, “The trick you’re playing on my siblings. You’ve really got all of them fooled. Not even I could manage to fool Destiny.” Desire’s seemingly-permanent smile sharpened as they cornered him, “How are you doing it? Right now, my brother is filled with the most sickening yearning for you, yet you don’t want him in the slightest.”
Well, that was unfair. Of course Hob wanted Dream. To, y’know, be his friend. To do things with him, to open up to him, maybe even give him some physical touch in the form of a shoulder bump or something.
“Not even a kiss,” Desire scoffed. “Nothing about his appearance, while he desperately wishes he was with you. He wants to hold you, kiss you, make ‘love’ to you.”
Hob choked. Dream felt that way about him? He wasn’t sure how to feel about this. He’d been determined to listen to Dream about Desire’s manipulations, but...
Dream feels the same way! Yes! Yes! If we were alone—
“...esting.”
Hob felt the dizziest then out of any time he’d forgotten the past few seconds.
His surroundings had changed. He was alone with Desire, who’d completely invaded his personal space. Their arms were wrapped around his shoulders, face inches from his. When they spoke, and their breath hit his face, his stomach turned.
“Seems I wasn’t quite right,” they hissed. “It isn’t that you don’t desire him. You’ve just been made to forget. Someone’s hidden it from you, and done a very good job of it, but it’s been leaking out.”
Their expression and tone softened. “The spell’s had to do a patch job; it’s been snipping away bits of your memory, hasn’t it?”
Hob narrowed his eyes. He got the impression that they were...trying to comfort him.
It was more than a little disturbing.
He ducked out of their loose hold and stepped back. They’d guessed his recent memory problems—so what? That didn’t mean they were telling the truth (even if his instances of forgetting did, in hindsight, have a clear correlation with Dream) and it definitely didn’t mean they weren’t trying to manipulate him. He was done putting up with the Endless. All of this, he decided, counted as a threat. “If you’ll excuse me, I have to find my boyfriend,” he snapped, and turned (apprehensively) to head for the door.
A hand grabbed his shoulder.
Hob had half-expected and prepared for this. He tried to move to take them down only to find that instead...he really wanted to stay still. Why had he ever wanted to move from this spot?
In the background, somebody spat, “I’m trying to help you, foolish human. As if I was just going to let you keep walking around with all that repressed desire.”
They cupped his chin with their hands and made direct eye contact. “Now, hold still,” they teased, “You’ll feel a lot better when I’m done.”
His ears popped. His senses whited out for a long moment from the pain of a gaping wound in his chest being healed, but not without being reopened first. Hob squeezed his eyes shut to prevent tears from falling as his memories returned to him—he could remember everything, all of his love for Dream.
He wrinkled his nose at an awfully strong smell of something—like a lightning strike?—as he came back to his senses. Then he heard Dream calling his name urgently from far away and opened his eyes to see Dream’s legs. Dream was bigger? No, Hob was kneeling—at some point, he’d fallen to his knees.
He looked up at Dream. He could stay like this all day, just looking up at Dream. (And trying not to wince every time he breathed.)
But Dream was saying something to the person next to him, Desire (they looked pleased). Hob let himself hear his surroundings.
“...you do to him!” Dream was demanding.
“Dream, love, I’m fine,” Hob cut in (only belatedly realizing that the endearment had slipped out). “Desire was helping me.”
Dream’s face could’ve been carved from stone as he turned to Hob. He didn’t say anything, but Hob’s heart sank as he realized Dream didn’t believe him.
He had to fix this. Now that he remembered he loved Dream and he knew Dream felt the same way, the plan was to confess, but he couldn’t do that if Dream thought it was all manufactured by Desire.
Hob clarified quickly, “Okay, it bloody hurt, and I definitely told them not to do it, but I’m glad they did it, really.”
The answer was thunderously directed at Desire, “What did you do?!”
Yeah, so that hadn’t helped. He wasn’t sure why he thought it would. What could he say that Dream would believe?
Desire decided to answer, “Your little pet is telling the truth. His heart was crying out to me...I couldn’t leave him chained up like that.” Their voice took on the evident quality of someone quoting, “You’re the one who told me to serve humanity.”
Dream and Desire started arguing in earnest. Desire maintained a grin worthy of the Cheshire Cat the whole time. Hob wanted to believe them, but could this be their plot? To do something that, technically, was altruistic, no catch, while being so out of line with Dream’s impression of them that Dream would never believe it?
Or, was there pain hidden behind that smile, that their brother was in such disbelief?
Or, was Hob futilely trying to assign human motivations to inhuman beings?
Whatever the case, he wouldn’t let this stand. He would find proof.
Now that he had his memories back, he knew around when it had started. It wasn’t before Mary’s New Year’s party. He even, vaguely, remembered making his resolution (to confess to Dream) before the countdown ended. So, it happened before he got home if he had been supposed to follow through on his resolution when he saw Dream. He’d definitely started forgetting after he woke up.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t tell when exactly it started on account of him being blackout drunk.
By now the commotion was attracting everyone’s attention (except for Destiny and Indiana, who probably already knew what was going on, those bastards). Well, fuck them. This wasn’t a spectator sport.
“Dream,” he cut into their argument, “please take me home.”
“But you haven’t even had dinner yet,” Desire pointed out.
“I’ve lost my appetite,” he said, not taking his eyes off of Dream. “Please.”
“If that is your wish,” Dream acquiesced, fury still audible in their voice. The world disappeared in a flurry of sand.
———
When his vision stopped turning, he was in the gallery they left from, still kneeling from chest pain.
Dream stood a foot or two away from Hob, arms hanging at his sides, visibly concerned. “Shall you answer me now?”
Hob thought about telling Dream the truth. No, not yet.
“I will, my Friend,” Hob said as the pain diminished and he pushed himself up with the wall, “but there’s something I have to do, first. Something I have to find out.”
“And what might that be?”
Uh oh. Dream looked even more concerned. It was a good thing Hob was going to ask for something harmless and not, say, something that would be guaranteed to end in a lethal injury on anyone else. “I have to know how far your knowledge of everyone extends. How do you do it? How does it work?”
“I am Dreams,” his Friend started, mildly confused, “and Nightmares. I am all Dreams dreamt...by everything that can Dream; I am the Collective Unconscious.”
Apparently, he thought that was a sufficient answer. Hob disagreed—wait. “I thought the Dreaming was the Collective Unconscious?”
Dream looked more awkward than normal. “Perhaps.”
Fuck kind of answer was that?
Wait. If he was right, then earlier...Hob stood by it, of course, but maybe his Friend thought Hob wouldn’t’ve said it if he knew he was actually talking about Dream.
He could fix that later when he fixed everything else. What was important was that, “If this whole world is you, then—I mean, you’re not messy,” Hob reasoned. “There’s gotta be a place where you keep all the information.”
Dream conceded, “There is.”
———
The library was just as amazing as the throne room. It stretched on further than he could see in all three dimensions, lined with books all the way.
What he could not see were signs or maps or labels of any kind.
“How do you find anything?” Hob asked with a vague gesture to the whole library.
He couldn’t tell whether Dream was answering him or calling for something when he answered, “Lucienne.”
A woman’s voice responded before Hob could even comprehend it. “Yes, sir?”
“This is Hob Gadling. You shall assist him in his use of the library’s facilities while I resume my work.”
Prior to Dream‘s words, Lucienne had seemed like a stern, hardworking woman, what with the suit and her hands behind her back. But when he introduced Hob, her eyes widened to the size of dinner plates—though only for a brief second before she regained her composure. She nodded at Hob as Dream left (probably for the best) and asked, “What are you looking for? We have every book ever written, as well as those yet unwritten.”
What was he looking for? There was no way he was gonna just come out and say ‘The person who cursed me.’ What to ask for, what to ask for—
Hob must’ve been silent for too long, because Lucienne prompted, “For example, I have detailed accounts of sleeper’s dreams.”
“Yeah, that’ll work,” he agreed. “Show me my dreams, please.”
It turned out, over 650 years on Earth meant he’d dreamed quite a lot. It was enough to fill several bookshelves, and that was with most people having one of the shelves of a bookshelf dedicated to them, at most. “Er, I’ll only need the past week,” he clarified.
Lucienne handed him the book open to yesterday’s dream. “Do not look at the dream you’re having right now,” she warned. “The ink is still drying.”
Right. Because...he was dreaming. With his senses, his reading abilities, and the laws of physics working correctly, it was easy to forget that he was asleep at the moment. How would the book even record the dream? He imagined himself flipping the page, and words appearing: “I flipped the page.”
Hob shuddered and went further back until he reached the dream he had on New Year’s, right before Dream gave him the invitation.
Oh. It was a dream about him and Robyn having a picnic. Robyn had been telling him a story, in the way only little kids could do. That was...sweet. And also definitely not the kind of dream he’d normally have after getting blackout drunk. Hob supposed if he could stop one of friends from having a nightmare right in front of him, he would do so, too. If only that was the kind of dream he needed.
He looked at the dream for the day after that, then the one for a nap he’d taken, and then all of the ones after that until he reached yesterday’s dream again.
Nothing. Not a single one was about Mary’s New Year’s Eve party.
Hob paced along the bookshelves. Okay, so this had been a long shot from the start. His Friend couldn’t have known somebody had cursed Hob—that was why he was looking for proof in the first place. He would have to do this the old fashioned-way—
Wait, was that Mary’s book?
Hob stopped and set his hand on the wooden shelf underneath the book. Mary, as the host of the party and not someone on the Dream King’s radar, might’ve had a dream about the party.
But...it was one thing for him to look at his own journal, but someone else’s? A close friend’s dreams? She had a girlfriend. He didn’t want to read something he couldn’t unread.
The lights flickered off.
Some soldier instinct of his activated, shooting adrenaline through his system even though all that happened was half a second of darkness.
Hob was berating himself when he realized—part of the library was gone. Not like an explosion, or like a wall had been put up, but like he was in Minecraft and the game was lagging.
“Uh, Lucienne?” Hob called like Dream had called her.
“Yes, sir?” she asked from behind him.
He whirled around, heart still beating like a rabbit’s. “Did you see that?”
She gave him a sympathetic look. “No, sir, but I can tell you’re on the verge of waking up.”
“But I’m not done. I haven’t even been asleep for that long.”
“You’ve been asleep for almost ten hours. You are waking up, sir.”
Hob grabbed Mary’s book. “Can I at least take this with me?”
She shook her head as the world faded to black.
———
He didn’t wake up feeling like he’d slept for ten hours, not the sleep he’d gotten used to in the 21st century, anyway. It seemed no amount of comfort mattered when he was lucid the whole time like that.
Hob was splayed on his back across the mattress dramatically, so he groaned when he caught sight of the calendar he’d put on the ceiling.
It was a school day.
With it being 4 am, he was in no danger of running late or anything, but it would’ve been nice if it was the weekend. He knew at least a thousand kids that would agree with him.
Of course, not many of his kids would feel like someone had taken a cookie cutter, cut out their centerpieces, and then replaced those pieces as painfully as they’d been removed.
Hob took advantage of his early wake-up time by going through his morning routine leisurely, taking any activity that would cause him pain slowly. Luckily, this was something he could do without regret—by the time he was done, it was still sooner than he usually left for school.
Hmm. The kids would be concerned about him. As much as he would usually advocate for caring about others, he couldn’t have them telling anyone about any overt signs of his lackluster health that they might notice.
That meant he had to whip out his tried and true method: Bribery via pastries. Hob dropped downstairs and informed the New Inn’s manager that he’d be paying for any purchases made by anyone with an ID from the school he worked at for the next week.
Understandably, his manager’s eyes bugged out, but they couldn’t argue with the increased business it promised the New Inn, not to mention his long-term resident privileges. Afterwards, Hob left for school to prepare.
Class went well. He might’ve had to sit down a couple of times (and then started to nod off), but the pain lessened over the course of the day, and the kids loved the free food. The end of the school day came faster than he expected (helped by his inadvertent nap during lunch).
That meant, as he was gathering his belongings, with no major problems from his work life, he was free to worry about his personal life, aka the events of last night. How exactly was he going to go about finding who’d made him forget when he couldn’t trust his memories and he couldn’t go to Dream?
Someone knocked at his door. Who would do that when it was already an hour after school had ended for the day?
“Come in!” Hob called.
The door opened and revealed...Mary. Guilt hit him full force (figuratively, thankfully for his chest) as he remembered how he’d debated looking through her dreams. And here she was, probably concerned about his behavior since the party. “What...can I do for you?” he asked with a smile that he desperately hoped hid the shame.
“Robby!” she said cheerfully, stopping on the other side of his desk. (The hair on the back of his neck stood up.) “So glad I caught you before you left. I’ve kinda got something important to ask.”
Hob hid his hands underneath his desk so that she wouldn’t see that he was wiping irrational nervous sweat off with a tissue. “Go on.”
“Well, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about New Year’s. About, y’know.” (He didn’t know). “About our midnight kiss.”
...midnight...kiss...?
There was no way. Surely he would’ve remembered that.
But, as a traitorous part of himself pointed out, he could’ve done it if he’d just forgotten about Dream, and Mary wanted it.
No, no. It just didn’t feel right.
Mary pouted, “I was worried you wouldn’t remember. It’s just, you’re such a great guy, Robby. You’re kind and funny. Hot, too.” She gave him a onceover as she walked around the desk. “Won’t you give us a chance?”
“I...” Alarms blared in Hob’s mind as he wracked his drunken memories and found no recollection of kissing anyone at midnight. In fact, he was rather certain he’d been fantasizing about kissing Dream. It wasn’t a stretch that he might’ve told her about it.
“Uh...” It was a stretch that she would do what her behavior was pointing to.
“Well...” He just couldn’t believe it. Years, they’d been friends. She’d helped him decide what he wanted to do with this iteration of himself, and now she almost ruined his chance at a relationship with the only constant in his life? If Desire hadn’t helped him, he wouldn’t even know.
“The thing is...” It occurred to him that Mary definitely thought her spell was still working. He had no clue how it worked. What if she tried to do it again, right now? Hob had to get out of here.
He had to make sure she wouldn’t do it again. He had to go big. That meant using an underhanded tactic: Guilt.
“I don’t know, Mary,” he breathed out eventually. “I don’t know what’s wrong. I’ve just felt off for the past few months or so. Like there’s some essential part of me I’ve forgotten.”
Ooh, it was working. She was pale as a sheet.
“I’ve actually,” he laughed self-deprecatingly, “been having memory problems. Spacing out while talking to people, and forgetting the last few seconds. Haven’t been sleeping well either. I’m worried that there’s something wrong...neurologically.”
Mary had frozen except for a hand she’d moved to cover her mouth. Was that too much...?
No. He remembered how he felt when it first started, and it was awful. If this made her feel guilty, that was her fault.
Hob finished, “And, I just don’t think I can handle a new relationship on top of all of that and school.”
She stared at him wordlessly. When her brain apparently turned back on, she squeaked, “O-of course. I’ll just, um, go.”
———
Thankfully, Hob wasn’t interrupted again between then and when he got home. It was already nearing six pm.
The nap he’d had during lunch had somehow given him enough energy that he wasn’t tired even now. It was a good thing, even if it was an accident, because now he already knew Dream wasn’t necessarily going to talk to him if he just went to sleep.
Instead, Hob was going to try praying first. Maybe it wasn’t possible. Maybe it would go to voicemail. Maybe it would work, but Dream would still ignore him. It was still better than potentially wasting the rest of the night sleeping, and having to wait until tomorrow after school to talk to Dream.
“Dream,” he started, trying to inject intent, “Please hear my words. I’d like to talk to you.”
“Hob Gadling.”
“Fucking—” Hob spun around. Why did everyone always have to appear behind him?
Oh well, he had good things to look forward to in the near future. He gave him a wide grin. “Dream, I’ve found out what I needed to know. What do you have on someone I know, Mary?”
His Friend gave him a scrutinizing look, then closed his eyes. “I shall look.”
He was still for a long moment. Longer than Hob felt like he should’ve been. Then, Dream opened his eyes, and they were full of tears.
His voice was dangerously low: “Mary Cornell...has violated you...irreparably. I cannot begin to describe...” Dream bowed his head.
“Oh, no, no, no!” He couldn’t bear to see his Friend like that. Hob crossed the space separating them in two quick strides and took both of his hands, making Dream look up. “Don’t worry. It wasn’t irreparable. That’s what Desire did; they fixed it.”
He let that sink in as he teared up, himself. “Dream, I love you.”
Hob had the pleasure of watching Dream’s devasted expression turn into one of pure joy before he was pulled in for a bruising kiss.
#now imagine Dream kissing Hob for a while without breathing because Dream doesn’t need to breathe and Hob doesn’t care about breathing#but then the lack of air makes his chest starting hurting again and he makes an involuntary action like a wince that alerts Dream to it#Dream: Hob? How’s it going @juniperhillpatient ?
I forgot to mention before, but the incident with Azula effecting Bumi’s hearing aid with bat sounds reminded me of my childhood.
I probably mentioned this before, but on the chance I didn’t I’ll reiterate. I have (from birth) unilateral hearing loss. Profound deafness in my right ear. Back when I was in elementary school, I was outfitted with an FM system. For the first few years, I had the normal difficulties of the FM system. Background noise, the tedium of lugging the microphone to each class and to each teacher. That sort of thing. While not everyone has the same experience, for me the FM system was…less than adequate.
Back when I was in second grade, my little sister stared elementary school (kindergarten). In her class, there was another deaf child. Though she had bilateral hearing loss, and her parents had get the implants. My sister made quick friends with this kid. Who also used an FM system of her own in conjunction with the implants.
Now my sister hell bent on annoying me as she is apparently decided to pull a prank on me. With the help of her friend and her kindergarten teacher. See the FM system relies of frequency.
The microphone the teacher wears picks up sound, and then sends it to a receiver. For me, I wore a signal hearing aid. For my sister’s friend the recover was her implants. Supposedly, the FM system is supposed to make the sound more crisp for the implants. Or at least that what I’ve been told.
Anyway, one day at dinner my sister asked me for the frequency of my microphone. I being a particularly guileless individual (hence my fascination with Azula as a character) gave it to her.
The next day, she apparently told her teacher the frequency my microphone was one. And he then changed the frequency setting of my sisters friends microphone to mine. Leading me to hear both of my own teachers and my sister’s teachers lessons at the same time.
Now, I was across the school at the time. So the connection between my hearing aid and the microphone in my sister class wasn’t great. So I mostly heard gibberish for about five minutes, till the my sisters teacher changed the frequency. Once the prank was over. My sister (and the rest of my family later) laughed about this for a week!
It wasn’t all bad though, I was eventually able to use this and other incidents to adopt a cross system (the same type I use currently) instead of the FM.
Anyway, sorry for the long winded ask not an ask, this particular part of chapter 76 in Happenstance just reminded me of events in my own childhood.
It’s weird to think that Bumi and I and kindred spirits in being “Azula’d” as it were.
I’m also reminded about Katara’s teasing reaction to Azula’s pride in “bat sonar” used against Bumi. It reminds me of being teased for a week about the “incident”.
But your story provided an Azutara connection to mine own life. And I’ll take it!
Thanks again for writing the amazing story that is Happenstance! And I can’t wait for the Azutara/Scream Au.
That is an absolutely hilarious story!
The idea for Azula to use the bat sonar prank on Bumi with his hearing aids honestly came from absolutely nowhere. While Bumi amassing an army of children & kidnapping Iroh is loosely based on a plot-line from the show “Community,” that specific part just popped into my head & seemed funny!
I love that this little joke resonated with you as someone who uses hearing aids.
Your sister is quite the prankster & I bet you were mad at the time even if you can find the humor now! That’s exactly the kind of shit I would’ve pulled on my brother when we were kids if I could’ve though. Not even gonna lie. I used to love messing with him. However, I’m the oldest! I can’t believe your sister was this much of an aspiring prankster when she was only in kindergarten & you in second grade!
Thank you for sharing the story & thanks for the kind words! I miss Happenstance 😭
Scream Au will be posting regularly…. Soon. I’m working on the “when” of it all! Thank you for the encouragement! ❤️

A modern-day branding Nostradamus
Given the case was written in 2002, I endeavored to make my predictions based solely through the lens of one in 2002 (that way I wouldn't benefit from hindsight).* However, the promise (or lack thereof) of each of these products is so readily apparent that I found this to be a simple ranking.
My ranking of the products in terms of future promise are as follows:
DigiScents iSmell
Sliced peanut butter
Silver-coated bandages
Satellite radio
DigiScents iSmell
This is the clear and obvious winner of the four products. My initial inclination was that all PC owners would have their own iSmell by the end of 2004, let alone 2024. However, I've since realized that iSmell will likely be limited by their production capacity. Given that, I think it's likely that it will take several years of ramp up before iSmell becomes ubiquitous. That said, it has everything going for it: PC purchases are undergoing a meteoric rise, people are looking for new sensory experiences without leaving their home, and the technology underlying the product appears to be very advanced. The marketing for the product is a slam-dunk; it even looks cool:
Sliced peanut butter
This the second (and final) can't-miss product on the list. Americans are living their lives on-the-go more than ever. This can be seen with the rise of the "mobile" phone (although I predict this is a trend that will die out in the coming years), the popularity of roller blades, and the increasing frequency of eating lunch at one's desk. While the interview with the sliced peanut butter creator really does say it all (who among us hasn't experienced the frustration of getting peanut butter all over oneself while simultaneously tearing the bread and losing the knife during a late-night PB&J creation?), it is worth reiterating just how revolutionary this product will be to the market. No longer will the average American need to carry around their jar of peanut butter in their back pocket along with their jar of emergency peanut butter in their fanny pack—adding bulk and anxiety regarding the dreaded "peanut butter blowout." Instead, they will be able to carry 10–15 PB slices, saving both space and time. This is particularly relevant in the post-9/11 world we live in, where it has become a piles of peanut butter jars overflowing out of trash bins near TSA security having been flagged as containing too much fluid have become a common sight.
Silver-coated bandages
We live in a society where everything has its place: silver is for jewelry and bandages are for the weak. While I am technically speaking not a "medical doctor," I did grow up in the same town as one. Thus, I know that most cuts and scrapes are best served not by some highfalutin silver antibacterial elixir, but by rubbing some dirt on them. I believe I represent most Americans when I say that this product will never take any hold on the market, unless they are able to rebrand: instead of being silver-coated bandages, they should become bandage-shaped jewelry. Provided the price point is correct ($400+), this could easily become a statement piece worn by those in the medical community.
(image created by generative AI, another fad)
Satellite radio
While well-meaning, this endeavor is entirely misguided as it's premise is ridiculous. People do not want fewer ads or monthly payments. Research has shown that advertisements actually increase the enjoyment viewers feel when watching television (https://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE5131EU). Further, it is beyond absurd to think that consumers will pay a monthly fee to listen to music that they will not even own. The chart below demonstrates the dramatic rise in CD sales every year, clearly showing that Americans are not willing to pay merely to listen to music: they want to listen to free music with ads (traditional radio) and pay to own music in their homes (CD albums).
* Despite how funny it would have been, I opted not to write this article from the perspective of my eight-year-old self in 2002.

If I could write a story about my feelings I would be sonali you would be Kush Jha… everybody else would be the villagers that killed sonali.. but who triggers and started the war. Father sounds… the other guy Alexander or Kagal? Was it Lush Jha’s doing ? Who is to be trusted if you can’t trust the one you love to protect you from harm? What if your love for one hurts you more than helps you. Not so much as suppressing your feelings but holding them back in a way?
Communication was all Sonali had with Kush Jha outside of physical touch.
She was craving him because he took something from her that she seemed important projected a world to her ( the land of the gods) they built homes out of random places marked their spots with their love. They weaves themselves in to one another and there is no way no shape or form that could destroy her feelings from him. Kush Jha’s feelings seems mutual from her point of view but was it ever so mutual? Was Kush Jha a man filled with lust and a lot of optimism and that is what lead him in to the connection with Sonali? Did sonali actually love or list Kush Jha? Kush Jha could of used his knowledge about Sonali to sway her… like her obviously distaste and distain for him. She saw him as a people pleaser the good boy.
Sonali didn’t know if he was good if bad but that one experienced shaped her whole life moving forward. It took some experience to keep her going back for more. She wanted everything with him but as we see she’s left for dead but did she really die
Why is she in the void? She sees those moments passing before her eyes analyzing everything for what it was. Not missing so much of what she didn’t catch in the moment.
She focuses on the energy and the frequencies of her conversations with the people the actions that went along with them and the obvious outcome. She indeed has to also look at herself and see her weaknesses and what she lacked what she could of done to make it known she wanted one person. Alexander is a cookie cutter people pleaser who seeks validation from the older generation just like a lot of these people now a days. He overtime grows love for sonali but also knows he may or may not be able to appease her due to his obvious flaw. He lacks wisdom he lacks self guidance and ultimately becomes sonali later on or attempts to because she has a shown him a new way however he latches on to her because he felt like her being a good person made him want her yet he knows nothing about her which can kinda be the same for sonali and kush jha but it’s different. Alexander has to put a front that sonali is property not even human just a woman to breed and clean and cook while she watches her husband make way through the parliament and hurt the people who live or were born in her same village. Killing them enslaving them. He grows to understand that it is not right but does he grow to understand her purpose was to teach him and was to show him that. She was nothing more than the catalyst of his self discovery. Sonali at the beginning of the story looks only at the betrayal and her untimely death or what seems like death.
She’s in a state of limbo // perhaps
There is still more things for her to uncover but we all know sonali has some type of role that is not only connected to me but things I’ve seen or see.
Tbh none of this is going on obviously I’m not in Indian but to actually write a story on a past life event and it be made to show something else is kinda funny

MCYT Demographic Survey Part 2 RESULTS
IT’S TIME!!!
Once again, thank you so much to everyone who participated! 1,654 people total responded to this - about four and a half times as many respondents as the first survey. It’s honestly incredible. I’m so happy the rest of you are as interested as I am in this stuff :D
The increased turnout is also why these results are being posted two days later than I’d intended. I want to give a HUGE thank you to my friend @quincepastey and my sibling @orestes-swimming for helping me out, and by helping I do mean they did basically all of the technical stuff for me, because my knowledge of spreadsheets was not up to the task. So thank you to Cupid for organizing all the data from questions 3 and 4 into something comprehensible for me, and thank you to Kal for making the charts! They are absolutely the MVPs and everyone reading this should go check them out. Thank you guys so much <3
Reblogs of this post are very appreciated. It would be awesome if the info about the results could reach everyone who submitted a response, so if you reblogged my first post about this survey, please consider reblogging this one as well!
For your convenience, here’s a link to the results of the first survey I did six months ago. Now - on to the results!
Question 1: What is your age range?
Compared to the results of the first survey, we can see that things have changed a bit! Specifically, the fandom has shifted just a little bit older. The solid majority of the fandom is still in the 15-17 year old range, but it’s gone down from almost half to closer to 40%. Almost a third of the fandom are ages 18-20, up from close to a fifth six months ago. 21-25 year olds have increased from about 10% to about 14%. And the youngest segment, 13-14 year olds, have gone from almost 20% of the fandom down to 12% - the sharpest change of all.
Finally, nearest and dearest to my own heart, there are now 26 whole people in the fandom aged 26-30 and 9 people aged 30+. Old Squad is growing, folks. We are... the 2% 😎 Special shoutout to the person who said their 15 year old kid got them into the fandom. I hope you know just how cool you are.
These results are interesting, but it’s also impossible to say how accurate the data is. This survey and the previous one were only posted on my blog, and they only reached a wider audience through the reblogs of my followers. So do these changes reflect actual changes in the demographics of the fandom as a whole, or is it just that my followers (and the people who follow them) have shifted older? To try to avoid this bias in the future, I may reach out to some well-known younger bloggers and ask them to reblog the next survey I do so that I can reach a more even audience.
Question 2: What is your gender?
Apologies for the small text, but there were so many unique write-in answers that I wanted to include them all. You may want to open the image in a separate tab for better quality.
In contrast to the age question, the gender spread of the fandom has remained pretty much the same. About half the fandom is still female, the nonbinary crowd has increased from 20% to 25%, 7% of us are male, almost 7% are genderfluid, and about 5% are agender. Just like last time, most of the write-in responses fell into the vague categories of either genderqueer or questioning.
No surprises on this one! The fandom continues to be overwhelmingly female and queer. Next time I think I’ll include genderqueer and questioning as options to try to catch some of those people into a formal category. All y’all are so valid, especially the person who wrote in their gender as “soup” <3
The results for questions 3 and 4 will be under a cut, because I don’t want to completely destroy people’s dashes.
Before I get into the last two questions, a couple notes. First, I want to explain how I came up with the list of creators, since a lot of people were either excited or disappointed by the fact that a few different people were on there.
On the last survey, this question was a write-in, and I had to transcribe and collate all the answers by hand to come up with the actual number of people who followed each creator. For this survey, I simply took the list that came out of the previous one and pasted it in! I also added a few people who no one wrote in six months ago but who are much more prominent now (Ranboo being the biggest example). So if you were excited to see your favorite small creator listed as an option, they were there because someone wrote them in last time! And if you wrote in your favorite small creator here, they’ll be an option on the next survey. The list is entirely crowdsourced and it will expand with each survey.
That said, the same also applies for more controversial creators. Specifically, I’m talking about CallMeCarson. Several people questioned my decision to keep him on the list - and to be honest, I considered taking him out. But in the end I decided to leave him in as an option for the sake of completeness and consistency with the previous survey. I want to emphasize that this is not me condoning his actions. But for the sake of the data, I felt that it was best to leave him in.
That said, let’s move on to questions 3 and 4!
Question 3: What creator(s) do you primarily follow?
So, it’s harder to compare with the previous survey on this one, and that’s purely because on the previous survey I didn’t have the help I did here. The chart I was able to make for the results back in October was frankly trash. Also, the fact that I split “followed creators” into two questions - primarily and casually followed - definitely throws things off. However, we can still do a certain amount of comparison!
The most obvious change is Ranboo. He straight up was not on the previous survey at all - I think he’d been streaming for less than a month at the time. Now, about 55% of respondents listed him as someone they primarily follow. The Dream SMP itself has also jumped dramatically. Previously, about 5% of people wrote in Dream SMP. That has increased to over half. Quackity has gone from less than 2% to about 30%. Karl has gone from 4% to 30%. Phil has gone from about 8% to a little under 50%. The SBI have jumped from 11% to over 40%.
Techno has gone from about 50% to over 60%. Tommy has gone from 45% to over 55%. Wilbur has jumped from 43% to 55%. Tubbo has remained steady at about 38%.
Dream has apparently dropped some of his following percentage-wise, falling from 50% to about 35%. However, George, Sapnap, and the Dream Team itself have all jumped from 10-12% to almost 30%.
I’m not going to go over the rest of the list, because that would just get way too long. However, I will drop a link to the spreadsheets of data for this survey and the previous one, so anyone who wants to can do some comparison of their own!
Question 4: What creators do you casually follow?
I won’t do as detailed of a comparison on this question, because there’s nothing to compare it to - this question wasn’t on the previous survey. However, it’s interesting to see how many more people follow Fundy, Nihachu, BadBoyHalo, Captain Puffy, Eret, Awesamdude, and Jack Manifold casually rather than as a primary favorite. Out of the top twelve, Karl, Quackity, Phil, and Tubbo are the only ones who don’t have a major discrepancy between the amount of people who follow them casually versus primarily.
I would be curious to hear people’s thoughts on why that’s the case! Personally, I would guess it’s a combination of each of their approaches to lore on the Dream SMP, the frequency and times of day that they stream, and the people they tend to make content with and be associated with by the fandom. I may go into that more later, but this post is already very long, so I’ll hold off for now. Here’s a link to this question’s spreadsheet for anyone who wants to take a closer look!
...And that’s a wrap! Good grief, this got long. Kudos to anyone who actually read the whole thing because I know my attention span would be challenged. I’m already thinking about the next survey - a couple people suggested that I add in questions about orientation and nationality, and while I want to keep the survey pretty tight in its scope, I am considering it. It would be even more data to process but it would be interesting to know!
I would love to hear people’s thoughts on these results! I’m only one person, so I know there’s interesting stuff I must have missed. Please, please feel free to reblog with your thoughts and observations! A lot of work went into this (both from me and from Cupid and Kal! Thank you guys again!), so I’m really hoping to hear what people think about it :D
I plan to reblog this and reply to some of the things people wrote in at the end, so stay tuned for that. And once again: thank you all for your interest in this project of mine <3 See you with another one in six months!

...making bacta the most important scientific achievement in history...
"Dank farrik," Tech huffed beside you.
You came out of your daze at the sudden exclamation and looked at your friend with concern, trying to quickly figure out what had gone wrong. You were helping him with a project, though what it was exactly you weren't completely certain of. All you knew was it involved digging into the walls of the ship and untangling a lot of wires. You'd been instructed to hold onto several of them, keeping them pulled taught out of the wall so Tech could fiddle with the other ends, and the dullness of the task had caused your mind to wander.
"What's wrong?" you asked, doubtful you'd understand any explanation, but wanting to be sure you hadn't done anything to mess up his progress.
He waved a hand at you dismissively, not pulling his attention away from the work in front of him. "Just the radio," he mumbled.
You hadn't been paying attention; it had only been turned on as background noise to keep you from going insane with boredom. And since it was tuned into some kind of scientific news frequency, you didn't really understand much of what was being said anyway.
...with the most influential application simply being in the field of medicine, providing us higher life forms with a versatile tool in maintaining our quality of life, and potentially even prolonging it...
Tech huffed again. Scoffed. Your mouth quirked at how upset he was getting. It was kind of cute.
But, you had to debate whether engaging with his frustration would be worth it. He had only recently calmed down from his outburst earlier that day, the only time you had ever seen him genuinely upset. Wrecker had accidentally knocked over a piece of machinery that was... well, something very important, apparently. No one was too sure. But Tech had spent most of the week carefully arranging its parts just-so, so that when all his hard work went crashing onto the floor, his breathing had suddenly resembled that of a charging Nexu. He'd drawn himself up, trying to match his brother's height, and ordered the poor guy to never step foot in this part of the ship again. The other Batchers had tried to defend him and were subsequently banned as well.
That left you as the only option for help.
Maybe that meant he wouldn't kick you out for debating him....
"Sounds like they're saying some pretty reasonable things. Am I missing something?"
Tech's fingers, which had been deftly working through the wires before him, clipping some and splicing others, finally froze. The clone's face tilted over to you, his eyes looking a little too judgmental through those glasses for your liking.
"You think bacta is the most important scientific achievement?" he asked. You didn't like his tone, either.
You scrunched your mouth in thought, actually giving the question serious consideration. While you mulled it over, Tech stood up from his hunched position in the wall and started pulling on some of the wires, unraveling them from their tangled mess.
"Yeah," you finally decided. "I think medicine in general is pretty important. And bacta specifically is the strongest known substance to deliver fast and effective healing."
Tech was mostly focused on the wires, but he spared you a glance.
"And treating symptoms is the most important thing for humanity? Here, hold this." He added another wire for you to hold in your hands.
You knew it was a loaded question so you chose to answer it with one of your own. "Well if it's not bacta or medicine, then what would it be?"
"Electricity," he said quickly and assertively, as if it was the most obvious thing in the galaxy. He continued to focus more on his work and you were annoyed he didn't seem to want to offer up an explanation to his opinion, despite having made you give one. He'd finally untangled the wires and was back to leaning into the cavern in the wall and setting them into their proper places.
"Why electricity?" You hated how dumb your question sounded; obviously you understood the concept and understood its importance. You just really wanted to challenge him to give you some explanations.
"For one, most medicines would not be able to be mass-produced were it not for the electrically-run vats in which they are made." He held his hand out behind him and made a grabbing motion. "Blue, please."
You sorted out the blue wire and passed it over.
"For another," he continued, his voice sounding distant as he leaned further away into the wall, "we must ask what constitutes a quote-unquote important achievement. For example, is an achievement worthy of the title simply because it improves our quality of life? Green, please."
You handed over the corresponding wire. "I'd say it's more about preserving life. Even outside of war, there's enough injury and illness that would end life were it not for medicine to heal them."
"Ah, but in that same reasoning, electricity also sustains life. It powers sources of light and warmth, which can also provide a means of boiling water and cooking food. All keys to survival. Yellow, please."
"So does fire," you shot back. "People survived long before electricity, and there's still plenty of civilizations living fine without it."
Tech finally emerged from the wall and took the last few wires from you, the red and black ones. He met your eyes with an earnestness that let you know how much he was enjoying this conversation. "And people have survived without medicine. At least the manufactured forms that you're arguing for, like bacta. Traditional medicine is as sufficient as fire."
Before you could respond, Tech moved to the side, motioning toward the wall with his head and holding up the remaining wires.
"Now, unfortunately these last ones need to be clipped in down below. I'm not able to fit through the lattice of the floor, but someone of your stature easily could."
You stepped forward and peered down. It was a mess of machinery and pipes and beams, but you could clearly see the port where the wires had been yanked out earlier. You knelt down, resting your stomach on the edge of the wall, but paused before bending over.
"If it wasn't for bacta, you wouldn't have been born." You were confident in your comeback and thus didn't linger for his reaction, turning to bend down into the ship with your wires instead.
You were disappointed to hear his soft chuckle from above you.
"And what do you think powers the bacta tanks that hold the clone embryos?"
You were glad he couldn't see the frustrated frown on your face. While you tried to think of a new point in your debate, you snapped the red wire into the proper port. But then you realized you couldn't quite reach the black one, and started carefully shimmying forward, deeper into the wall.
"It seems we have circled back to the initial question," Tech offered in your silence. You felt his hands hold on to your hips, steadying you as your legs lifted from the floor, most of your body now inside the ship. You didn't think anything of it, though, your focus split between your task and his words. "What makes an achievement the most important? Both medicine and electricity are capable of preserving life, but neither are essential to survival. So, what criteria are we left with?"
You were finally within reach of the last port and pushed the wire into it. "Sounds like you already have the right answer, so why don't you stop teasing me and just say it?" you called up to him.
"I...I didn't mean to sound like I was teasing."
You could hear the apology in his voice, how truly caught off guard he was to hear that you had perceived his attempts at a friendly debate, a conversation, as mocking or disrespectful. Your stomach knotted up in guilt, making your journey to wiggle back out of the wall a little more difficult.
"I'm sorry, Tech," you said through a grunt as you tried to push yourself back. "I didn't mean to sound rude. I just don't know the answer."
You felt his arms snake around your middle, pulling you the last of the way out. You came to rest on your knees, breathing heavily at the sudden increase in air supply. Tech was crouched alongside you, his chest against part of your back, his arms still holding you.
"I honestly don't know the answer, either," he blinked down at you, speaking quietly. "I don't know what criteria would constitute the most important scientific achievement. I thought maybe we could figure it out if we kept discussing it."
You craned your neck around to look at him, unconcerned about the discomfort it took to do so. You needed to face him fully. "Or... maybe we don't need to figure it out? I mean, does there need to be one achievement labeled more important than any other? Can they not all be valued equally?"
"I suppose..." he relented. But only a little. "It is a fun thought exercise, though."
You smiled at that, and it made your heart flutter a little to see him return the expression. There were a few seconds between you where you sat pleasantly in each other's arms... before the realization hit that you were in each other's arms.
"Uh," Tech stuttered first. His eyes looked about frantically as if the more he saw of you practically sitting in his lap, the more he would know what to do about it.
Your face was hot and your heart thumped forcefully in your chest. But you weren't panicking. Even though you'd been around the Bad Batch for a while now, this was the first time you'd gotten physically close to any of them, especially this dorky genius, who made you feel just a little better about life than the others did. You hadn't been sure why, not until this moment, your face being mere inches away from his own. Now it clicked.
His arms had removed themselves from your frame and he was starting to crawl backward on the floor. You quickly grasped his shoulder to stop him.
"Tech, wait."
He froze, looking at you with wide, apprehensive eyes. His shoulder was tense so you relaxed your grasp and simply let your hand rest on it gently. You gave him a small smile. Thankfully these little gestures were enough encouragement for him to lean back to you. He still looked at you timidly, but he wasn't pulling away anymore. It seemed like maybe he had been feeling the same things about you.
"Yes?"
He was waiting for you to make the next move.
"So, this project," you stalled, needing just a little more time to work up the courage. "What is it again? Why did I just crawl into the bowels of the ship?"
Your face was creeping closer to his, breath gently fanning across each other, warm but refreshing.
"I... I..." Tech seemed to be short-circuiting. "I was just, uh, re... redecorating."
Your nose had just brushed his when you suddenly frowned and moved back to look at him questioningly. "Redecorating... wires?"
You were very amused at how flustered he seemed to be in this situation. But then the tables turned as Tech rolled with it.
"Yeah, I didn't like the way they looked in there. Wanted to change things up. You know me."
The smile on our face spread as he talked and you couldn't hold back your laughter any longer. You bent forward, resting your forehead in the crook of his neck while your body convulsed with giggles. Tech laughed along, bringing his arms back around you to hold you in place. When you finally looked up at him and the shit-eating grin he had plastered on his face, you knew you'd finally found your courage.
"Oh, Tech..." you chided, pressing your smiling lips against his own.

Chapter 4: Horizon Bang Bus
Aloy had gotten word from Sylens of an unknown temple in the Forbidden West. He had been craven and deceitful so many times in the past, but at the same time, he was never lacking in information. She had been riding a Charger for two days now, urgent to follow any leads that would help her fight the oncoming threat of Nemesis.
It was a little past afternoon on the third day of her journey when she found the building that matched his description. The sky had turned to a faded blue and the sun's glow had started to dim, but it was not quite dusk yet. In the distance she could see the vast unending ocean on the beaches as the waves rolled and crashed on the shores. She had been so distracted by the beauty of it that she almost missed the temple right beside her. And even when she did finally see it, she allowed herself to ignore it for a bit, knowing that with all buried treasures of the old world, there would be trials and tribulations to come.
Instead, she looked at the ocean. Even with the current crises of tribal warfare and the battles ahead, the natural beauty of water still mesmerized her, being so different from the mountainous grasslands she grew up in. The smell of salt filled her nostrils and for a moment, she allowed herself to take it all in.
“You're not here to admire the scenery, you're here to find information, weapons, anything,” came the voice of Sylens through her Focus, interrupting her reverie.
“You don't need to remind me,” Aloy said. The hologram of Sylens appeared before her with a stern look on his face.
“Good. Then proceed.” She just shook her head. Some people never would change. She looked at the building.
Like many of the ruins of the old ones, it was large, with the same kind of gate they all had, from the ruins the Nora tribe called All-Mother to the decrepit building where she first learned about Elisabet Sobeck and Project Zero Dawn, and she couldn't forget Ted Faro's pleasure house in Thebes either. Only a few cracks through the walls, this thing must have been built to last with the frequency of chaotic storms in the area. It was a white steel structure, and at first she thought it was rotting and rusty like any remnant of the very distant past, but she quickly realized it was simply the glare of the setting sun on the surface of the glass and the walls.
She advanced closer to the building. There was some writing at the top of the entrance, gated like all the other ancient ruins she found so far, but it was illegible from years of rot and ruin. Her Focus read, “MUSEUM OF THE BANG BUS.”
“Aloy?” Sylens' voice was suddenly distorted.
“Yeah?”
“Something's happening...I...” His image became distorted too. “I...I can't...” Then it was gone completely.
“Sylens? Sylens!” No response, not even anything jumbled. “I don't know what's going on, but I'm going to get to the bottom of this,” Aloy said. If something here was able to jam with his signal, then it was serious. Sylens had assured her earlier that she wouldn't need backup at this place, and now she wished she had ignored that admonition.
She approached the entrance. Her Focus lit up, like it usually did in these ancient ruins. A ray scanned her from head to toe. But instead of a model between her and Elisabet Sobeck showing up, instead she saw herself, completely naked. It wasn't some generic model of her either, like Beta or a younger Sobeck, no it was exactly her, big hair and everything.
“Hot babe detected,” said an automated voice. “Hubba-hubba!” Aloy was a bit taken aback. She never heard anyone talk like that but she had a pretty good idea what it meant. The three dimensional model of her dissipated instantly. The once inert gate lit up with electricity before slowly opening up.
The area was wide and open, lit up by a dim white light. There was a great statue of a large vehicle with two slabs behind it like a memorial. The Focus read it as, “ALL HAIL THE LEGENDARY BANG BUS.”
“Well that answers none of my questions.” Her voice echoed a bit in the large building and she mentally kicked herself for being so foolish in this unknown place. Still she felt oddly safe. So far it seemed nothing like the other ruins and underground bunkers she had been in, storehouses of ancient weapons to be awakened and rogue AI plotting mass destruction. She got closer and looked at the slabs behind the statue. There was faint writing but still, nothing. The Focus slowly read a list of words, “LIST OF BITCHES SLAYED BY THE BANG BUS.”
Um, okay... she thought to herself. She saw names that definitely were of the old era. Names like Kim Possible, Lois Griffin, Meg Griffin, Hot Meg Griffin, Clover Ewing, Mandy Luxe, Alex Casoy, Sam Simpson, Beth Smith, Summer Smith, Tricia Lang, Bonald “Bonnie” Swanson, Eliza Maza, Star Butterfly, Moon Butterfly, Jackie Lynn Thomas, Rose Wilson, Morrigan Aensland, Lilith Aensland, Hayley Smith, Francine Smith, Mary Jane Watson, Gwen Stacy, Roberta Tubbs, Jill Valentine, Wendy Corduroy, Marge Simpson. And then she saw names that sounded like they could have come from her own era. Shego, Hekapoo, Demona, Felicia, She-Hulk, Poison Ivy, Black Cat, Starfire, Blackfire, Raven, Jinx, Kitten, Elektra, Storm, Polaris.
But then again, the colonists from Far Zenith wth their long names had only deigned to give Beta the one word as a name. She didn't know any of these people. These people she was reading about, they could be anyone, from any time.
She did find a console at the base of the statue. So this old ruin might hold some value after all. She placed her hand into it, and the whole building was powered up immediately. She heard the sounds of the lights turning on, and machinery pumping in the distance.
“Welcome hottie,” said a thick digitized voice not unlike HADES or MINERVA. She just realized it was the same voice that greeted her at the gate. “It has been a thousand or so years since we've had visitors. I'm sure my assistants will be glad to see you.”
“Who are you?” Aloy said.
“I am DIONYSUS, meant to ensure that everyone who steps into this building has a good time and is thoroughly satisfied before they leave.”
“Whoa, um...okay,” she said, thinking of all kinds of naughty connotations to what it just said.
“What is your name?”
“Aloy of the Nora,” she said. “No I mean...it should be Aloy, despite the Nora.”
“If it is the passenger experience you seek Miss Aloy, then please proceed below to get rammed and loved up like crazy.”
“Wait, I need to know if there's a way to fight Nemesis!” No answer. If what that AI just told her was true, this program might be one of the few that was still functional to it's original purpose, despite it being one hell of a perverted purpose. But that still didn't tell her what the passenger experience was supposed to be.
“What is the passenger experience?”
“Head downstairs and you will find my assistants ready and waiting to satisfy you in all endeavors. Do enjoy.”
“Do you have anything that can help me fight Nemesis?”
“No, but I do have functions that will make Miss Aloy cum like a bitch in heat.”
She sighed. She realized this AI was both blissfully untouched by the corruption as well as completely useless when it came to her situation. But she armed herself in case the AI was being anything but honest.
“What about Sylens? What happened to him? My friend that was with me.” She had to catch herself, Sylens could be many things but rarely pleasant, and for that reason alone it felt awkward to call him a friend.
“Query unintelligble. Please repeat.” The voice was as stiff and robotic as before, yet what with how animated it had been before, she couldn't help get the feeling it was mocking her. She slowly turned to her right and followed the hallway to the end of the room.
But whatever caution she had was quickly arrested for a few moments as she looked at the walls around her. It was lined with framed photographs of various women having sex with a large muscular man. There were also photos of women getting pounded by another man, bald and skinny, but just as well endowed as the man she was currently with. One photo that caught her eye was of a woman with dark red hair who was clearly not human getting rammed on both ends, blue and winged with a tail even, yet that photo was side by side with another photo of the same woman with a more pale complexion to her and no strange features.
Aloy couldn't figure that last one out, even after everything she had been through. The Focus reading, “HATES HUMAN BEINGS BUT LOVES HUMAN DICKS,” wasn't exactly helpful either. But as much as she tried to, she realized she couldn't make sense of it and didn't need to. The old ones had both created the machines and destroyed the world. There was still much of that civilization she didn't understand and might as well never understand.
“She was a fun one,” said the voice of DIONYSUS. “A gargoyle that just can't quit humans. And then she kinda became human at the end too!”
“A...a gar-what?”
“Don't worry about it kiddo, just relax and have a good time.”
“Right...” she said. She still didn't know what to make of this overseer, or if all this raunchy stuff was a show and it was going to pull the proverbial rug from under her. In that way, he was a lot like Sylens. Even this bluntness reminded her way too much of her wayward companion.
Though that amazement didn't at all help the heat burning through her whole body from seeing these various photographed sex acts. She had to stare in amazement for a bit, confused at what kind of place this building was supposed to be, as well as how turned on she was becoming. A blush crept up her face.
Ignoring it, she kept going forward. She found a set of doors at the end of the hall. There was simply a message. The Focus lit up again, reading, “PASSENGER EXPERIENCE VR ROOM: LOS ANGELES.”
This could be good or bad, she thought to herself. This museum seemed like the last place to have anything which could help her on her mission. Then again, it might be a show. She still didn't understand what this DIONYSUS was supposed to be. Which meant it was all the more important to ascertain for herself what was going on here, right now. Anything that could jam Sylens' signal was definitely trouble.
“Wait, DIONYSUS?” she said. “GAIA only had nine subordinate programs and you weren't listed in any of them!”
“I was not programmed to assist GAIA. I was made by Ted Faro, for the explicit purposes of human pleasure.”
Of course it's Ted Faro, she thought to herself. There was nothing else to say. She remembered even someone as mercenary as Sylens hated him.
She pushed open the doors. There was a stairway leading underground. She went down, and found another set of doors. Pushing it open, she was in a large empty room easily larger by far than the whole first floor, lit only by soft yellow lights on the ceiling above that illuminated the whole area. She mustn't have been paying too much attention to how far down she went because the ceiling was far higher than she expected. After hearing straight from DIONYSUS on it's stated purpose, all she could think about was Faro's Thebes.
“Hello?” she said. Hello, hello, hello, her voice echoing in the distance, was the only response she got. That echo was way louder than the one she got in the empty lobby upstairs. She swallowed hard.
All around the perimeter of the room, there were naked humanoid shapes. She gave them a cursory look and it looked like they were all women. They all had various body types, various appearances, various hair styles. Their heads were slumped forward slightly, eyes closed. The Focus lit up around them, and it read, “ORGANIC SURFACE, METALLIC INTERIOR. ANDROID CLASS.”
A machine? she thought to herself. But that can't be right.
Something that did catch her eye in the distance was that two of them in the back appeared to be male. She walked over to them, and as she did so, their features became clearer. Their heads were slightly slumped over, their eyes closed, like all the other figures here. One was a big muscular man not unlike Erend or Rost, short black hair, and tattoos on his chest, and one of his arms. The other was bald with some slight fuzz on his head and more slight in build, somewhat similar to the Sun-King Avad.
Then she quickly realized it was the two men from upstairs in those photos.
She felt a tingling in her pussy seeing them. She was still hot and bothered after going through that hallway. Though what she was prepared for least of all was that both of their dicks were standing up straight. Just like the others, the Focus classified them as androids.
She reached and touched both of their faces. It felt like flesh alright, and when she pinched their cheeks, the texture in between her fingers squished. She felt their chests too, they both felt human enough. Yet as she started to see it, their skin was a little paler than the average person's, and it was unmarred all over, no blemishes or marks period. No body hair either for that matter. And the tattoos on the big one looked like decals as opposed to an actual ink drawing inscribed in his skin.
A naughty part of her looked down at their dicks, both of them standing right up. She grinned to herself as she wondered what would happen if she touched them there. But before she could do so, both of their heads looked up at her at the same time, right at her and they opened their eyes.
She had to fight the urge to jump back a bit. Whatever amusement she felt went right out the window. Even with her experience as a warrior, her latent fear of this place hit her back hard. Their eyes looked human enough but they had an eerie blue glow not unlike the various machines she had encountered.
The big one smiled. “Well, hello miss! I assume you're here for the passenger experience?”
She paused for a moment, expecting some kind of danger, but none came. “I might be, if I knew what it was,” Aloy said, calming down a bit. He seemed friendly enough, and whatever unease she felt was gone when she realized how easy it would be to take down the both of them since they were completely naked.
“Well there's passenger experiences all over the country,” said the skinny one. “This one's the LA experience.”
“That still doesn't tell me what it is!”
“It means you get to have a good time.”
“And I tell you what, we are up for a good time too if you want it,” said the big guy. Even with their mechanical glowing eyes, she recognized the look they were giving her. And coupled with their smiles, she knew exactly what they were getting at.
“I guess you don't know anything about Nemesis or HADES?” she said, wanting to change the subject. They looked at each other with blank expressions, then looked back at her and shook their heads. “And DIONYSUS?”
“Oh he just runs all the museums devoted to the Bang Bus,” said the skinny guy. “He's the program that's been keeping us alive.”
“Alive?” For this long? she thought to herself. She couldn't help but think of Far Zenith and the abomination of Ted Faro again.
“Well not technically. When things went south, we copied our brains to a digital archive that can activate in these robot copies that have been put in each museum. In exchange for that, we're to keep these places tidy when DIONYSUS tells us to, and uh, please whoever comes in here.”
“And we are all over the country!” said the big one. “There's Bang Bus Museums in Colorado and Minnesota, there's a museum in Michigan and Maine, there's even one in the deep south! But this is the first one that's been activated in a long while.”
“So you're telling me you guys do your job and then you're just...deactivated?” Aloy said. “Like you've been asleep?”
“At least we get to live forever. And seeing hot babes like you make it so worth it!”
“Is that so weird?” said the skinny one.
“Yeah, it's been...thousands of years since your world fell,” Aloy said. “Things aren't what they used to be.”
“Damn!”
“Yeah, had no idea it's been that long,” said the big one.
“And I'm surprised this place is still intact,” said Aloy. “The Forbidden West is pretty messed up but...”
“The Forbidden West?” said the skinny one.
Aloy nodded. “Yeah, that's the name of the location we're in right now.”
“Sounds like a good porno name.”
The big guy smiled at his friend before looking back at her. “But for us guys, nothing has changed. We've only got one duty and that is getting some booty!”
“Okay...” Aloy said. She still didn't know what to say to that. She came here looking for ancient knowledge and instead she finds two horny robots. That DIONYSUS was probably still watching them too. “So what is the legendary Bang Bus?”
“The best days of my life,” said the big one.
“You got it bro!” said the skinny one. “We'd go all over the country, picking up hot girls here there and everywhere, and then we'd fuck them just the way they liked it!”
Aloy blinked hard. She shouldn't have been surprised given everything that had happened so far, but it was still a shock to hear these two machines be so blatant about it.
“And them?” Aloy said, nodding her head at all the inert women.
“They're androids built to emulate the many ladies that hopped onboard for their journeys of fun and excitement,” said DIONYSUS. “I took all the video footage recorded of their real life counterparts, and implanted models of their personalities into these android bodies. The robotic copies of my two male friends here were started off as a business venture by Mr. Faro for lonely women all across the globe as well as for archival purposes of the actual Bang Bus. But Mr. Faro was also very keen on coming here when he was bored for these female models.”
Of course he was, Aloy thought to herself. “And I'm guessing he was the only one allowed to touch them?”
“Yes,” DIONYSUS said flatly. She wondered if this AI realized how messed up that was. “He would often have rampant orgies with them. Got tit fucked by a copy of Meg Griffin and a version of her from another dimension once. Had Kim Possible and Shego sit on top of him while he fucked and ate them out at the same time. And apparently he had a mommy fetish since he once had Marge Simpson and Francine Smith spank him while he was in a diaper, jacking off and sucking his thumb.”
“Okay, way too much information!” Aloy shuddered. She already hated Faro, but she loathed the thought of him having sex at all. She didn't know those names either, save for some faint memories of the memorial upstairs, she was still too distracted by all the naked androids to properly think straight right now. But she still didn't know any of these people, and this conversation was getting real awkward. She needed to change the subject, fast, she didn't want to think about Ted Faro's scuzzy dick inside of these beautiful android women. “I hate to burst your bubbles, but you know that Ted Faro is dead, right?”
Both of the androids looked at her. Their jaws would have dropped if they could. “Dead?” DIONYSUS said, incredulously.
“Yep, dead. Thebes burned down a long time ago. And he wasn't exactly human before that either.” She realized it might not have the best idea to say that, but then she heard DIONYSUS laughing in his robotic voice and the two androids high-fived each other.
“That. Is. Awesome!” the skinny one said.
“Oh yeah, he was a bossy little weasel, wasn't he?” said the big one. “Always telling us what to do and threatening he'd shut us down if we got any ideas.”
“Fuck Ted Faro!” DIONYSUS said.
“You can say that again,” Aloy said.
“Fuck Ted Faro!” said both of the androids.
“It feels good, doesn't it?”
“Fuck! Ted! Faro!” they all said at once.
“I think that'll be my new catchphrase for whenever I'm feeling really good,” Aloy said. “Fuck Ted Faro. Just don't actually...fuck Ted Faro.”
“Who the fuck would?” said the big guy.
“You got that right,” said the skinny guy.
“So you up for the passenger experience, or what?” said DIONYSUS.
“Yeah, yeah,” said the skinny guy, looking Aloy up and down. “I really wanna give it to you in...the Forbidden West!”
“Wow...” she said, her voice trailing off. She was used to men being forward with her, but two naked robot men was another matter entirely. World might end soon, she thought to herself. And I still haven't gotten laid once. Despite everything she'd been through, whenever she was with the other tribes, even when she was with the base team, a faint lingering stigma of being an outlander was in her mind despite knowing she should well have moved past that superstitious nonsense. Tilda even she was alive, for whatever she was worth only saw her as a replacement for Elisabet.
And as much as she had feelings for so many of her new friends from Erend to Alva and Beta, she was always worried if it might make things awkward later. These two machines on the other hand, she didn't know them whatsoever, and she didn't judge her one bit.
“You know what?” she said. “I think I can do that.”
“Awesome!” both of the guys said and they high-fived each other.
“Activating passenger experience,” came the voice of DIONYSUS. “Be sure to have fun with her, boys!” This AI really was like none of the others she encountered earlier.
In an instant, the once empty room was changed from a bland featureless set of walls to a beach setting not unlike the one just outside this building. Gone were all the android women and the dim lights above, now there was a bright sun shining above with clear blue skies. But more than that, there were crowds of people and buildings all around her. She was suddenly aware of how much warmer it had gotten in that instant, and realized why everyone was wearing very little.
“What in the world...?” Aloy said.
“Welcome to Los Angeles, circa 2004” said DIONYSUS. Aloy barely had time to register what that meant, because as she was walking and looking around in pure amazement, one of the people actually bumped into her.
“Might wanna be careful,” said the big guy. “Lot of work went into prepping this thing. It's made to look as real as you can possibly get.”
“Yeah I see,” Aloy said. More cautious now, she kept to herself. It was so weird seeing so many people at once without any of the machines looming on the horizon. She looked up and was surprised to see seagulls in the sky. Not Glinthawks or Stormbirds but actual living creatures. And more than a few people had weird furry four legged creatures with them. These beasts resembled Ravagers but she didn't even know what to call these living versions. The Focus wasn't helpful at all, these things must have been so commonplace back then that Faro's scientists hadn't even bothered to catalogue what they were.
Though her admiration of it all was taken aback when one of them jumped onto her leg and started humping it.
“Get off me!” she said, shaking her leg and pushing it off. The two guys started laughing. She drew her spear, ready to attack it.
“You really shouldn't do that,” said the big one. “I said this simulation was designed to be real, but you don't wanna mess with it too much either. You might actually break it. Even if it is a dumb dog humping your leg.”
“So you mean if I wanted to invite one or two of these people here to fuck that it would...”
“Definitely don't do that. It'll glitch out and start screaming and...yeah...” He sighed. “Poor DIONYSUS wouldn't know how to handle it.”
“Fine, fine, I get it,” she said. She pushed the creature away and gave herself some distance before it resumed it's path away from her. Just like a machine. She also noticed all the people were only walking in two directions. Like they were simply making their rounds.
She just noticed the people around her were starting to give her funny looks. And she also just started to realize how different her clothes were compared to everyone else here. Though for all that, she started to realize that nobody here was completely naked like her two would be android paramours. A lot of women were wearing next to nothing at all, and some of the men too just had skimpy little pieces of swimwear on, but nobody quite as full on naked as these two.
“If you're into that, we can go back and invite some of the ladies,” said the skinny one, noticing her checking out some of the women.
“No, I'm uh...I'm good,” Aloy said. The thought titillated her just a little, she remembered Sobeck had been in that sort of relationship with Tilda, and she had fantasized about Alva and Beta on more than a few occasions even if with all the weird undertones between her and the latter, but she thought it might be more than she could handle.
When she didn't say anything for awhile, the big guy said, “You gonna sit there all day with your tongue hanging out or you wanna get to the real fun?” She looked in his direction and he was right next to a white van. Just like the one she saw in the lobby upstairs. The big guy winked at her, and she remembered all those photos.
She nodded with a grin on her face. The skinny guy opened up the door, and the big guy got in. She followed him, and the skinny guy got in behind her, shutting the door.
Aloy thought it was kinda weird that she was inside a vehicle inside a simulation inside a building. But she quickly got comfortable on the bouncy and cushy back seat. She took off her armor and put her weapons on the car seat floor before lying down, leaving her in just plaint pants and a simple sleeveless shirt, stretching herself out. It reminded her a bit of the Ceo and his antics in the ruins of Thebes, sitting on one of Faro's thrones like he was a king. She really could get used to this treatment.
“You want to start off slow or do it real fast, real hard?” said the big one. Aloy suddenly found herself at a loss on how to answer.
“Um, I, I don't know,” she said. It wasn't at all like her, but then again, everything happening all around her was so new.
“Slow,” said the skinny guy. “Then mess her up real bad at the end.”
“Yeah, I can be down with that,” said the big guy. Aloy found herself a little nervous, hearing them talk about her like that. That didn't stop her from staring at the big guy who was by now, standing right over her, his penis completely erect.
Before she could react, he leaned down so that they were face to face. She turned her face away out of a nervous instinct. He didn't mind at all, and gave her slow gentle kisses on her cheek, slowly dragging his lips until he was right at her ear. He started licking the inner rim. He gently but firmly clasped her hand for assurance, and continued licking the inner rim of her ear before he ruthlessly jammed his tongue into the opening, twisting and turning it this way and that.
Aloy almost jumped at that. She was unprepared for how hot and wet it was inside of her. She had started squirming a bit, the jolt of pleasure was completely unexpected and she didn't know how to handle it. Then he started licking the outer rim of her ear, running his tongue up and down the whole span of it. As much as Aloy was liking it, she missed the feeling of his tongue so deeply inside her ear.
He hoped she would feel that way too. Someone inexperienced like her wouldn't know how to react at first, so he'd overload her and then stop exactly when she was starting to get into it. Her hot breaths had become a little more frantic, signaling that his teases were making her want him bad.
And he wanted to make it so much worse. He started blowing on her sensitive earlobe as he shamelessly felt her up. By now she was returning his touches. She didn't have her earlier confidence she had in touching him when she only thought of him as a lifeless statue, but she enjoyed the feeling of his muscles under her hands, his whole naked body exposed to her. The only thing she noticed that was imperfect about this android was that he wasn't breathing as his chest wasn't receding in and out despite him blowing on the skin of her ear.
She found that realization didn't bother her at all. She couldn't be distracted by something so trivial, not when his naked beefy flesh was wholly at her mercy. Her once shy touches had become more rampant, groping and fondling every inch of him. The instant she touched his dick, he smiled.
“You're starting to get used to this, huh?” he said.
“Um...y-yeah...” she said, still more nervous than she liked.
“Then let me get a feel for you.”
His large hands reached up her shirt and found her perky tits. He pushed on them with such force, his fingers pinching her nipples and pushing them deep into the areolas. And he had lowered his head down to her navel, and started planting gentle kisses there.
She had started pulling her pants down. It was just sliding down past her hips given the small bit of nervous sweat that had gotten on her thighs, in addition to the wetness of her pussy, and her full ass cheeks had started to slip out from the hem of the pants. That didn't stop him from being left awestruck at the gorgeous sight of her beautiful vagina, her luscious and soft wet pubes a clear sign of her arousal. Pleased with her enthusiasm and the marvelous sight before him, he reached his hands under her bare butt and lowered his head deeper.
She almost jumped when she felt his tongue dive into her snatch. He held tightly onto her firm buttocks, fondling them like a predator as his tongue flicked in and out of her hairy cunt. She had started moaning like crazy at all these new sensations, it was the first time being touched sexually by a guy, but his was definitely the first tongue she had ever felt in her mouth and in her pussy.
While she was being held there to keep her from writhing out of control, the skinny one had gotten next to her head. He reached his hands under her shirt and resumed the titty massage his bro had been giving her earlier. That alone prompted her to squeak. The one eating her out looked up with a smile.
“I think she just had an accident!” he said.
“Better do it again and make sure,” said the skinny one, still fondling her tits. Aloy still hadn't stopped moaning as he mashed her hard nipples against his palms and the whole of her breasts using his fingers.
“Can do!” He resumed his clamdiving, making sure to lick her stiffening clit this time. Aloy's moans became more submissive and high pitched as her most sensitive part was completely at his mercy.
The skinny one was still disappointed at how relatively left out he had been. So he knelt down and shoved his tongue in her mouth. His tongue darted in and around there. He was a little more rough eager unlike the big guy who was taking things slow. She had already been moaning in sheer ecstasy from a good fit of cunnilingus, but now that his mouth was locked with hers, all she could do was muffle her cries of pleasure. It wouldn't have been more than a little annoying if her pussy wasn't being eaten out at the same time, she didn't know quite how to kiss him back while her nether regions were being pleased to high heaven, but eventually her mind snapped and she helplessly returned his kisses just as ravenously as he was.
It didn't help either that he felt human too. Despite knowing his body was artificial, his tongue wrapped around hers was made of a synthetic material designed to perfectly imitate the wetness and thickness of an actual human one. As were the rest of his mouth's innards. While they continued kissing, she couldn't help but think in some ways he felt so real that it was almost like he was better than a real tongue, and that allowed her to melt into it so much more.
As he was sucking on her clit, the big guy had worked her pants down so they were hanging by her ankles. His hands were running up and out her smooth muscular legs, loving the feel of them, far more plump than her relatively skinny upper body. He realized from her reactions to his kisses and getting eaten out that, just like Kim Possible before her so long ago, this built goddess of a woman was a virgin.
He stopped and looked up at her. She was helplessly making out with his buddy even without a tongue in her cunt driving her mad with passion. By now her shirt was lifted up, and he got a good eyeful of her hard nipples being pulled and pinched.
“You having fun there?” said the big guy.
The skinny guy broke the kiss to look up at him. “Hell yeah!” he said. “She taste good down there?” The big guy just licked his lips in response. “How many times did she cum?”
“Just once when I was snacking on that pussy. This clit though? Lost count.”
“I think I definitely helped out there. Look at how excited she is!” he said, now gently tugging on her stiff nipples.
“And she's so wet too,” said the big guy, slowly fingering the pussy that was still recovering from it's climax. Then they both stopped. The one by her pussy started massaging her thick muscular legs as she still needed time to recover from all their amorous touches while the one by her head caressed her collarbone around her tits. The both of them watched her, a hot and soaking mess twitching in pleasure. As opposed to the two of them, who being androids, didn't have a flicker of sweat on them. Finally, she looked up at them.
“Please...” she said weakly.
“Shit, we didn't overdo it did we?” said the skinny guy.
“No!” she said suddenly. There was a small sheen of sweat on her face and and on her breasts by now, and her breaths had become rough. “No, it's...” But she smiled and tenderly cupped his face before she said, “Amazing.”
The two guys smiled at each other and fist bumped. Even with their artificial glowing blue eyes, she sensed nothing but warmth from them.
“Nothing quite like a job well done,” said the skinny one.
“But there's more fun to be had,” said the big guy. “There's something else I want to do with this pussy right now.” He propped himself up so that he was right above her. She got a good look of his hard cock.
“Oh wow...” Aloy said. She tenderly grabbed her tits in an unashamed and unconsious fit of arousal, absent mindedly fondling her hard nipples. It was bad enough being so blatantly groped to the point of a sudden and powerful climax by these two robots, but the thought of a big robot penis inside of her too got her excited. She sucked in her breath, considering if she wanted to go through with this, before she looked him right in the eyes and said in a deep voice, “Fuck me.” The skinny one chuckled like a hooting sound.
“My pleasure,” the big guy said with a smile.
He grabbed her by the hips and rammed his prick right inside of her pussy. He started slow at first, his fat prick was thick enough to fill her up just right and he was long enough that with every thrust, he hit the end of her juicy tunnel. And she was so tight and wet that he knew he was doing it just right.
A small red stream started oozing from her vaginal lips and down her butt, signaling the loss of her maidenhood. Her lover felt it too, even now a thousand years into the future and in a robot body, he was fucking lovely ladies and stealing away such beautiful innocence. He was not disappointed either when she started thrusting against him. Now that he knew she was committed to this, he slowly increased his speed with her. While they were rocking back and forth with each other, she looked up at the skinny guy longingly.
She raised a hand up to his face and stroked his cheek. He almost had to jump back, it was an unexpected tender moment in what was otherwise an unashamed fuckfest. If he could still blush he would have done so, and even then he felt a little nervous looking back at her.
Without even thinking, she grabbed his penis. Just as hard as the other one. His was the first dick she had touched with her hand even as another cock had just fucked away her innocence and still ramming her, so she didn't know how to expect it would feel on her hands. But it was hot to the touch and ramrod stiff.
She would have taken it in her mouth but being fucked so good, she was worried she might mess up her first attempt at a blowjob. So instead she rubbed it on her face a bit before she licked the shaft. It tasted more like skin than she expected, just as humanlike as the rest of him. His pleasure receptors felt it too, he wanted her to take all of him inside of her, but part of his programming that he couldn't fight even if he wanted to, was not to overload the clientele who arrived looking for a good time.
She couldn't ignore the dick still pounding deep inside her snatch. At that point she had stopped jerking her hips due to her inexperience and her lover's strength completely overwhelming her. Aloy could only focus giving the best blowjob she could muster while taking it deep in her twat. It was a great credit to the soft seat under her which cushioned her underside with every thrust from a robo-cock she got in her wet cunt.
She was licking up and down the skinny's guy shaft as best she could. Eventually tired of beating around the bush, she took the whole robot penis into her mouth, hoping it would be enough for him. She used her lips to stimulate the head of his cock that met the shaft, his dick being shaped just like any human's.
But she was unprepared for the dick inside her pussy to ram itself all the way to the end of her canal. At that moment, several strong jets of a thick goo shot themselves all the way inside of her. Aloy quickly opened her mouth, a scream caught in her throat as her cunt climaxed right on top of his dick. He kept thrusting inside of her, and eventually she let out a loud grunt as she finished cumming.
When he finished shooting inside of her, he pulled out. His dick was covered with a mix of her pussy cum and his fluid. His ejaculate wasn't actual semen, but it was made to look and feel like real jizz, and judging by the orgasm he felt on his dick and in her love cries, he knew it more than satisfied her. And even though he was an android designed to fulfill a function, he was also made to feel pleasure from these encounters as much as his lovers.
She took a minute to breathe from all of it, yet again. That didn't stop the skinny one from rubbing his member all over her face. Still in the heat of her orgasm, Aloy eagerly took it inside of her mouth without thinking, now able to solely concentrate on sucking him off. She licked the underside of the shaft while practically inhaling his dick head.
He grabbed the back of her head and shoved the rest of his dick inside her mouth. It quickly woke her up a bit, though she was still quite dazed from her second orgasm, and she knew he wouldn't be taking it out until she made him cum. She licked up and down the shaft in her mouth as best she could while still using her wet lips to suck on the rest of it.
He came just then, shooting his fluid down her throat. She didn't know what she should have expected, it was the first time she had anything resembling semen in her mouth. But Aloy found she liked the taste, and as she took his member out of her mouth, she took a few moments to sample the texture and consistency of the fluid in her mouth. That didn't stop him from shooting several more shots of the synthetic fluid on her face. Built just like a real dick.
He took her thick mane of red hair and, wrapping it around his stained member, began cleaning it off with her locks. She didn't even mind so much, distracted by the goo dripping out her cunt and licking her lips of a cum residue. He let go of her hair, finished, as she too also swallowed the rest of his goo down her throat.
They stood there for awhile watching her. She wiped a bit of sweat off her forehead with her forearm before looking up at the both of them with a smile on her face.
“Is the lady thoroughly satisfied, or does she want more?” said DIONYSUS.
“More,” Aloy said breathlesly.
“Let's try this,” the big guy said. He tapped her hips, and she took the hint, getting up. He helped her into the doggy style position on all fours, and as she took it, her partners switched positions themselves. The dick that took away her virginity was now right in front of her face, stained with faint remnants of her shattered hymen, and before she knew it, the dick she sucked off was lodged squarely in her cunt, just as tight and wet as before.
The skinny one pushed inside of her pussy, wet with her own pussy juices and the synthetic fluid of his buddy, allowing him to quickly ram deep inside of her with fast and strong thrusts. Unable to focus on a proper blowjob with the pistoning cock inside of her cunt, instead Aloy's mouth took in the artificial nuts of the android in front of her. It was hot and swollen as a real man's ball sack would be in the mouth of such a beauty. To speed on his own orgasm, he started jerking off his dick wet with juices as her mouth suckled on his artifical nuts. All the while she moaned as her pussy was being hammered to her sweet satisfaction.
Way hornier this time, Aloy easily met the thrusts of the man behind her, pushing her butt up against his hips everytime they humped each other. Despite being so skinny, his hands on her hips were just as strong as the grip of his muscular friend, no doubt due to being a machine deep down inside, and he started spanking her round ass, which jiggling everytime he pistoned inside of her. His rapidfire pace created a pleasant friction as he rammed inside of her. Even though he was so fast, her pussy being as lubricated as it was afforded her a lovely wet shield that let her take it all in with no complaints.
And it was so good that she came just then, squeezing hard on the penis inside her vagina. She looked back at him with a naughty smile before she licked up and down the shaft of the penis in front of her face. Both of them were near their own orgasms already, but Aloy's newfound confidence had an effect on them, bringing them much nearer their limits than they expected. The one behind her came first, shooting his robotic fluid inside her pussy while the big guy, unable to take it anymore, took his nuts out her mouth and pointed his penis at her face, shooting several blasts of the fluid all over her expression.
Aloy squinted her eyes. It was dripping all over her face and down her chin, it was thick in her hair, and she had to wipe some of it off with her hand while she licked her lips. When she was finished, she lay on her side with a contented smile on her face. Both of the robots sat down just then too. She was disappointed when they didn't take her again.
“Are you two gonna do anything or...?”
“We can, but we have to recharge,” said the skinny one.
“Yup, living forever is great, but these robot bodies have their limits,” said the big one.
“Then go recharge,” Aloy said.
“Very well then,” DIONYSUS said.
“Let's go,” the big one said to Aloy. Not understanding but going along with it anyway, she picked up her equipment before the both of them took her hands and led her out the vehicle. She quickly understood once the illusion of LA dissipated, leaving them back inside the empty room. If she had still been inside that van, she would have suffered a nasty fall.
The two robots went to the wall where they were stationed. She hadn't noticed earlier there were two slots in the wall where they had been standing. Both of them put their dicks inside. They tensed up when the slots started sending electric jolts inside their manmade privates.
“How long is this gonna take?” she said.
“Several hours at least,” DIONYSUS said. “I take the utmost care of my assistants. I can't afford any accidents where something happens to their instruments.”
“Sorry, but that's way too long for me,” Aloy said. “But...” She couldn't help but be distracted by all the female androids lying around. “Hey DIONYSUS, can you override that protocol that says only Ted Faro can have fun with them? Because uh...”
The two male androids chuckled to themselves.
“Very well Miss Aloy.” At once the female androids all looked up, straight at her.
“Wow,” she said. She could barely contain her happiness. “Oh fuck Ted Faro,” she said, remembering that goofy catchphrase she made up on the spot, and thinking of so many other things than that scumbag. A giddy smile lit up her face. So many different faces, so many different bodies, so many different personalities to choose from. Now she would get to awaken another part of Elisabet that had been dormant inside her for far too long.
“Activating passenger experience,” said DIONYSUS before Aloy was left alone with nothing but a whole lot of naked android women she was eager to get to know better. In that illusion of a bygone world, Aloy and her newfound friends quickly went into the Bang Bus simulacrum, where she learned so many new things that night. The next morning would find her blissfully asleep in the loving arms of so many female companions that she would sadly have to bid farewell far too soon.
Looking over her all tuckered out and satisfied, the AI overseer said, “Was it good for you as well, my friend?”
Deep in the control core, Sylens had watched everything, ever since Aloy first stepped foot inside the museum. He simply nodded to his companion's inquiry with a beady smile on his face. He would keep this video footage to him close like a treasure, perhaps one of the few things he would value more than the knowledge he had acquired in his long journey of wandering alone in all these years.
“Oh yes it was,” he said. “I knew if I acted like my signal had been jammed that she'd run right on inside, regardless of the risks of danger.” He chuckled. “Truly in Faro's garden of mediocrity, you DIONYSUS are the one crop that is worthwhile.” His smile darkened. “And if Aloy ever gets snappy with me again, now I have something I can use as leverage. She wouldn't want anyone else to see something like this, now would she?” He bared his teeth in a triumphant grin. “Fuck Ted Faro, indeed.”

There was a plant in the Kiszka house that you couldn’t stop looking at - you found yourself making your way to the kitchen, just so you could peek in on it. It was a Christmas cactus placed on the south-facing window sill above the sink, spilling out of the sides of its terra cotta pot in long tendrils.
Shapely, dark green, and perfectly healthy - it was the perfect metaphor for the household that loved it. The fuchsia pink buds on the tips of every trailing vine were promising to open every day since you’d arrived, and - perfectly on queue - the first one opened on Christmas Eve. It had been tightly closed when you greeted it in the morning as you sipped your cup of coffee, but by the time the family was snacking on a veggie tray and cocktail weenies at lunchtime, it was fully open, facing the floor in a way that reminded you of a ballerina’s tutu.
“You like this thing, huh?” Josh had asked, audible to just you over the lively conversation and music filling the kitchen and dining room. He was standing closely behind your right shoulder, charmingly trying to get the same view of the cactus that you were - as if that could help him appreciate it better.
“Isn’t it lovely?” you replied, turning your head and realizing at the same time that you could kiss his cheek if you leaned in closer. The two of you shared a lingering look that you put an end to just before you could start feeling physically warm.
He hummed in consideration after a moment. “It’s pretty,” he agreed and then smiled weakly. “It kinda just looks like another plant to me though, if I’m being honest.”
You turned to face him then, giving him a warm look. “There’s a lot of beauty to be found in things that other people don’t know to consider. It gives you kind of a selfish satisfaction.”
The slightly suggestive tone you’d taken put a puzzled smile on his face. He gave you a look that somehow perfectly let you know that he’d be back to pry at the deeper meaning of this conversation later when you were alone.
“We got this for Christmas for my mom one year when we were little kids. Sam and Ronnie liked the color.” He smiled at it past your shoulder. “It used to be so tiny.”
It certainly wasn’t anymore. As a matter of fact, it was currently threatening to take over the whole sill - swallow up the little knick-knacks peppered around it.
“It’s really happy,” you agreed.
+++
Dinner that night was photo-worthy. Laid out on the table were dishes upon dishes of different comfort foods, each with its own oversized serving spoon. Jake had been trying to make homemade bread through the entirety of your time there - the first night was his very first time making it and it was a little raw, then the next night it seemed a little hard, then the next it looked a little overcooked and dense. Tonight, however, it looked worthy of a cooking magazine cover.
PERFECT BREAD ON THE SIXTH TRY! it would read triumphantly.
No one had a claim on any of the specific spots at the dining table, so it was free game - which was how you were able to finagle your way into sitting between Jake and Sam for that evening’s meal. You liked them a lot, for the record, but you had been thinking a lot about your earlier interaction with Josh, and that was the reason for your chosen position.
You wanted to stare at him without arousing suspicion - or rather, any more suspicion than was already present amongst the six of you.
He had given you a questioning look as he sat directly across the table from you, scooting his chair in until he could rest his elbows on the wood. You offered him a reassuring smile as you settled in, but secretly you reveling in the fact it’d seem awfully non-platonic if he questioned your choice out loud.
While you ate, he only caught you looking at him once, to which he responded by playfully poking his tongue out at you. Otherwise, you listened intently to a story that Sam was telling you about a fated time he found a designer jacket in a truck stop bathroom and it fit perfectly. You also chatted lightly with Jake - who was sitting to your right - about each of your classes and he graciously listened to you gripe at length about the weather and its lack of consistency, which was obviously very kind of him.
When dinner was over, the family changed into their pajamas before meeting in the living room with their wine to sit around the tree and open one present each of their choosing. It went around in a circle, starting with Josh who received a new cutting board and a set of knives that his mom jokingly assured him he couldn’t have until he was ready to go back to Ann Arbor. You were unabashedly visibly excited to be able to use a knife that could cut without having to use a sawing motion.
Jake had unknowingly chosen to open the present you got for him, which was a leather-bound journal and fountain pen that cost more than you wanted to admit but after you saw it at the store, you couldn’t stop thinking about it. You had felt incredibly cool while purchasing it, so in a way, it was kind of a gift for you too.
The gift you opened was a wool sweater from Josh’s parents and when you lovingly clutched the forest green fabric to your chest, it was a genuine gesture. You reminded them that they didn’t have to get you anything, but thanked them profusely when they informed you that you were being silly.
After the designated presents were opened, warm conversation was had as the Rudolph Christmas movie played quietly in the background. It was one of your holiday favorites though, so you probably paid more attention to it than the rest of the family.
Once 10 pm hit, there was a sharp rise in the frequency of yawns, and shortly after that people started turning in, one by one. Everyone was wished a good night, knowing that when they woke up again, it would be Christmas.
After Jake turned in around 11:30, you and Josh were the last ones standing - or sitting rather.
You were sitting next to each other on the sofa, about a foot apart because despite Jake having been privy to your relationship, it was just good practice when any member of his family was around.
As soon as Jake’s bedroom door was closed, Josh seemed to visibly relax his muscles, though his fingers still fidgeted with his jeans every few moments.
“Are you liking being home?” you asked and then took a sip of wine, already knowing what he was going to say.
He gave you a low, pained-sounding hum through a grimacing smile. “We should have just told my family what the nature of our relationship was - I don’t think I can handle not touching you much longer.”
“M’kay, couple things to address here,” you started through an amused smirk. “You were able to handle not touching me for months - I think you can handle literally one and a half more days. And two-”
He cut you off with a finger against your lips. “Yeah, but had I known you wanted me to, it would have made a lot of difference.”
You pressed a kiss to the digit before he quickly pulled it away with an accusatory squint in his eye.
“And secondly,” you tried again pointedly. “What would you have told them? ‘Hey guys, I have very very fuzzy boundaries with my roommate and that often results in us sleeping together, both literally and as a euphemism’?”
He shot you a teasing smirk. “Cute. You’re very cute,” he said sarcastically.
After a very long, comfortable silence, you spoke again, voice low and hushed. “So, can I scoot closer to you now?”
He looked over at you from out of the corner of his eye, still holding that smirk. “Please do.”
You shuffled until your thigh was touching his.
Of course, you had missed it right away, but you hadn’t really realized how much you’d missed being physically close to him until you caught the now-familiar scent of his cologne.
Another comfortable silence fell upon the room, quiet enough that all you could hear was the quiet crackling of the logs in the stone fireplace.
“Can I kiss you too?” you asked, looking over at him through the sheer curtain of your hair.
He looked like he was truly mulling it over as his eyes flicked down the hall to his siblings’ rooms, and then across the living room and up the set of stairs to his parents’ room. After a second, he let out a huff and said, “Fuck it.”
He reached over and tugged on your various limbs until you were sitting in his lap, face to face.
It had been so forbidden to you up until then, that when he leaned in and caught your lips, you let out a groan under your breath.
“I missed you,” he breathed, almost directly against your mouth. “I love knowing you in any aspect, but I’ve been burning for this.”
It made the heat rise to your cheeks, as well as your lap - but you couldn’t let him know he’d turned you on so easily, so you replied breathily with, “That’s an awfully fancy way of telling me you’re horny, babe.”
He was biting back a laugh for a split second before, grabbing your hips a little tighter to gain back what dominance you had borrowed from him with your teasing.
You pressed your luck. “Really, very eloquent.”
A look of contemplation flashed over his features as he was obviously deciding what to do next. He lifted you with little effort and then pressed you firmly backward until your shoulders hit the seat of the couch. Then he crawled over you and stared down into your eyes triumphantly.
“Aren’t you worried about someone coming out here?” you challenged through a grin.
He leaned in until he could drag his teeth across your cheekbone, making your skin prickle. “I don’t care anymore,” he replied, and then - in a show of brutal honesty - pressed his crotch against your hip and ground down just enough to show you how hard he was.
Your breath caught in your throat, and involuntarily, you bucked up against him.
You kissed him so forcefully that it was almost more like just mashing your mouths together for a long moment. His hand slipped down between your bodies until his fingers brushed over your navel, the ticklish feeling making the muscles jump under the touch. It was the anticipation of his next move that fucked you up the most.
He was dragging his fingers lower, just about to dip under the band of your pajama pants when he seemed to have a moment of clarity and pulled his hand away altogether. You frowned at him, pushing your hips up to meet his hand instead, to which he responded by placing his palm on your stomach and pressing you back down with a laugh.
“Let’s go to my room,” he suggested.
“No, wait.” You gave him the softest eyes you could. “It’s so romantic out here right now - the lights on the tree, the fire, the soft couch. Would you just kiss me here for a bit?”
The look on his face could only be described as enamored. He stared at your face for a few long seconds before you finally asked if he was alright.
“I’m lucky to have you.”
He said it under his breath, so sincerely and honestly, that you weren’t sure how to respond until you could catch up with your thoughts. You cupped his jaw in your right palm, raking your fingers through his hair and he careened your touch in a way that had you feeling like a melting scoop of ice cream.
“You know, I sometimes think about how poorly the whole ‘moving across the country to a place you’ve never been for school’ thing could have gone. There were so many variables that had to click into place, and somehow I still ended up living with a person that,” You paused to brush your thumb against his cheekbone, hoping to portray your meaning through your touch. “Might be a literal angel.”
He raked his front teeth over his bottom lip subconsciously as he consumed the compliment. You could see his brain chewing it over as he snickered a laugh.
“Though, I think angels are supposed to deliver good tidings and not black eyes,” you teased.
You couldn’t name the look he adopted then, but it seemed somewhere between solemn and proud reminiscence. The frown forming on your features was not lost on him, and you quickly spoke before he could change the subject.
“What’s wrong?”
He hummed and met your eyes. “I never wanted you to find out about that,” he said like an admission.
“What do you mean?”
“There were a lot of things I did to get your attention, but that was completely reactionary. I’ve never been a violent person - well, to anyone but my siblings anyway-”
You huffed a laugh at him but nodded for him to continue.
“You were right,” He met your eyes with an intense sincerity. “I am a lover. Not a fighter.”
“I know,” you whispered as you brushed a stray curl from his forehead. “But you must have known I would find out, right?”
“I wasn’t thinking about that at the time, but yeah - in retrospect - of course, you’d find out. But I did it. I sought him out and it just-” He bit his lip for a second to take a pause. “I saw him and all I could think about was you crying on my shoulder that night.”
You didn’t say anything. You just let him gather his thoughts as the crackling of the fire served as a placeholder in his silence.
“He’s lucky he only got a black eye because I wanted to kill him for touching you.”
It was clear after a moment that he was waiting for you to respond, possibly even hoping for validation at such a vulnerable moment.
“If I’m being honest, Josh, I still can’t believe you could do that - I can’t even imagine you yelling at someone in a way that was anywhere near serious.”
He stared at you for a few long beats, and you watched the reflection of the Christmas lights twinkle like stars speckled over the dark canvas of his eyes.
“Yeah, well,” he started, just above a whisper. His brows were tipped into a look of contemplation - the spacing of his words making you think that he wasn’t sure how to proceed. “You do crazy things to protect the people you love.”
It wasn’t voluntary in any way when your breathing stopped, it just happened - like your lungs were locked up for a few long seconds as you waited for one of you to say something.
“You’re my best friend,” he said like a confession, looking more serious than you’d ever seen him. “And I love you.”
Undeniably, your face was peachy pink - you could feel it tingling warm. You weren’t sure what to do with your hands, but you knew you wanted to touch him. His skin tightened around his jaw when you ghosted your fingers over it.
“You love me?”
He nodded at you, a small but confident motion. “You fill a lot of different positions in my life. I’m not in love with you yet - I don’t think - but I want your permission to be.”
Without wasting another second, you caught his lips in an earnest kiss, your chest feeling like it might implode. It only lasted for a moment before he was pulling you back up until you were sitting in his lap.
“Was that romantic enough for you?” he asked, trying to shade his voice with humor but it came out sounding breathless instead.
“I literally can’t imagine anything more romantic,” you agreed with a weak laugh and then teased, “Unless you proposed. You’re not going to propose, are you?”
He adopted a disbelieving smirk. “Do you want me to? I’m sure I can fashion a ring out of something. Maybe there’s a cock ring joke in there somewhere-”
You rolled your eyes playfully and cut him off with, “Please shut up and take me to bed. Right now, okay?”
He ushered you off of him with a breathy laugh before gently nudging you in the general direction of his room. “Hurry along then.”
The two of you padded quietly down the hall, shutting the door without making a peep.
The only light in his room was what you could see of the Christmas lights that framed the front door, casting a white-gold glow over the setting.
When he laid you out over the bed, it was significantly gentler than you were expecting as was the kiss he placed - first on your cheek and then your jaw and down your neck to your throat.
His hands slipped under your pajama top, tugging lighting at the buttons on it from the inside and letting his fingers make the skin across your navel tighten. Instinctively, your fingers tangled into his hair, keeping him close enough that the pointed tip of his nose was resting on your sternum. The warm humidity of his breath hitting your skin was both calming and exciting at the same time in a way you couldn’t describe if you tried. His fingers worked to undo your top with relative ease, sliding it off of your chest after.
You eyed the way his bicep flexed as he held all of his weight on it, and wrapped your fingers around it to give it a squeeze. He reacted by dragging his teeth across your breast with just enough sting to make your hips lift off the bed. The way he sucked one of your nipples into his mouth and rolled it around with his tongue made you squirm, fingers flexing into his tense skin. A tingly, warm feeling set over you as you wrapped your legs around his hips and sat up to shrug your shirt off.
“I don’t think I’ll ever get used to this,” he stated simply as he ran his fingers down your bare chest.
You hummed at him through a smile, pinching his chin in your fingers and tilting his head up until he had to look you in the eyes. He gave you a grin as he bit his bottom lip and then leaned in to press a kiss against your cheek. In your heart, you knew the gesture had you blushing, but it was confirmed for you when he smugly rubbed his thumb across your cheekbone.
The chill in the room made your newly-naked skin prickle as he tossed your pajama pants to the floor, followed quickly by his own. With all of your clothing discarded into a pile, he pulled you up onto your knees, cupped both sides of your jaw with his hands, and tugged your face closer until your noses were touching. You listened to his shaky breathing for a moment before you dug your fingers into his hips, pulling him back over you as you laid out on the bed.
You knew your nails were digging into his skin - probably a little too deeply - as he pushed into you, one of his hands wrapped around your thigh to keep it hitched over his hip. This was confirmed for you when you heard him suck in a breath that sounded more like a hiss, though you got the feeling that he liked the sting of it.
Through the entirety of the time he was fucking you, he barely pulled his body away from you at all, instead opting to just rock himself against you until you were near tears. The biggest challenge was barely making a sound as you reached your peak, your face buried in the humid crook of his neck and shoulder.
You weren’t positive how much time had passed, but as you laid together, post-orgasm, you realized just how exhausted you were.
Neither of you had said a word for quite a while, so it sounded too loud when you spoke into the dark room.
“Are you going back to the living room?” you whispered.
“Nah, fuck it. I’m not going anywhere,” he replied, nuzzling the top of his nose into your hair as you laid, half on his bare chest. Just before you fell asleep you remembered the very first night you slept in his bed, and how much had changed since then - and how much had not really changed at all.
+++
You had meant to set an alarm - really. But you hadn’t gotten around to it the night before, which is why when you came stumbling out of the bedroom with Josh close behind you, you were met with a few pairs of eyes staring at you from the living room. Trying not to look like the most guilty human on earth, you ducked your head and quickly made your retreat to the bathroom. Neither of you said a word as you brushed your teeth together, sneaking playful glances at each other in the mirror.
By the time you had both showered - Josh first and then you second - and changed into your clothes for the day, it was 9:30. You both found the dining room table hosting his entire family and enough breakfast food piled on top of the worn wood to satisfy a small army.
The two spots that they saved for you were next to each other, so you settled in and tried to prepare for the most awkward meal of your life thus far.
“You almost made it to the end,” Jake quipped, apparently happy as hell to deliver the first blow.
You watched Josh’s eyes flick up at him, delivering him a chilly look.
“Okay, it wasn’t really a secret before, but it’s definitely not anymore,” Jake finished, rolling his eyes as the bowl of scrambled eggs was passed to him.
Josh poured himself a glass of orange juice and then gestured for your glass too. “If I were in the living room last night, Santa wouldn’t have come. Really, you have me to thank for the gifts you receive today.” He finished filling your glass and set the carton back down before continuing. “And I’ll take that thank you in the form of you shutting up and minding your own business.”
Jake snorted a laugh as he dished himself out some breakfast. He opened his mouth to tease Josh further, but when he looked up and met your eyes, he let the next remark die on his lips - instead just settling for a smug smirk.
No one mentioned anything else about it, but as the meal went on, you realized that you really had nothing to be ashamed of. You brushed your fingers against Josh’s under the table and then let him lace them together as his sister was telling a story about the best gift she’d ever received. You didn’t share a look with him, but you didn’t have to as his thumb swiped over the top of your hand, over and over.
After breakfast was eaten and presents were opened, Josh found you on your way out of the restroom and motioned for you to follow him to his room.
“I have something for you,” he started as he took your hand and sat you on the bed. You crossed your hands in your lap, settling into your spot with a smile. He closed the door behind him and then lifted the bag he’d packed from home onto the dresser.
He pulled out a little box like a magician would pull a rabbit from his hat, and then held it out for you to take.
“It really isn’t much, because we obviously don’t have a lot of money, but after what you did for Penny- Well. I wanted to do something meaningful too,” he explained sheepishly.
The box was wrapped in mint green foil and marked with your name on a brown paper tag.
You took a lot of care removing the wrapping, and gently opened the top of the box as you held his eyes.
Inside was a 4-inch terra cotta pot, decorated with delicately painted sunflowers on a white background.
“It’s obviously not perfect-” he started, but you didn’t let him finish before you set the pot on his bedspread and wrapped your arms around his neck.
“It’s perfect,” you stated simply.
+++
He slept with you again that night, this time sparing any sneaky behavior - and this time, when the two of you emerged from his room, no one even batted an eye. It took you only a few moments to pack your things up, but over an hour to say all of your goodbyes.
You watched as his mother hugged him again, just like she had when he’d arrived - tightly, like she could barely stand to let him leave. This time, she hugged you too, nearly just as warmly.
Josh helped you get your bags into the trunk of your car, being decidedly less gentle with Jake’s belongings, and the two of you crawled into the front seats as Jake was ribbing his much taller younger brother at the front door.
“Hey, I got you this. I looked it up on my phone and the wiki page said I could just rip it off, so I did,” he explained as he placed a long arm of the Christmas cactus into your lap.
You look at it for a long moment, your chest feeling tight.
He must have mistaken your silence for apprehension, because he continued on, letting a concerned tone shade his words. “It said it wouldn’t hurt the plant and that it would eventually just grow roots. Is that right? So you can have one of your own, you know? Since you liked it so much. You could even use the little pot.”
You let your eyes meet his as you tried to choke back the feeling in your throat that was threatening tears. Embarrassingly, your voice was a little shaky when you stated, “I love you too.”
He looked completely stunned, but he only had a moment to fix his expression before Jake was opening the back door and sliding effortlessly in.
“You guys good to go?” Jake asked as he leaned forward and snatched the aux cable from where it was rested on the center console.
You gave Josh an expectant smile, but when it was clear that he wasn’t going to respond, you leaned over and pressed a kiss against his lips, prompting him to say through a beaming grin, “Let’s go home.”

➡ WRITTEN BEFORE 2.1 so uhh :D
notes: platonic w diluc and kaeya, duh bc ur the older sibling. sibling love!!! sibling love !! woop woop !
"Dad, I'm home!" You bellow out to the house, waving a polite hello to Adelinde who looked shocked to see you. You kick off your shoes and slide your way to the long table in the living room, swiftly grabbing an apple before heading upstairs.
Your hands graze the railings and make your way up to find your dad. Upon reaching the last flight of steps, you were suspicious with how the place was very quiet. Granted, your younger brothers are now adults, but it still felt too quiet. Maybe you expected to see your brothers playing a game of chess, maybe bickering and fencing. You were hoping to see your family after being away.
You were a part of the Fatui under the Mondstadt branch. It was and at the same time wasn't a choice to be roped into the Fatui. You got roped into the wrong group of friends and found yourself blackmailed by the infamous group.
You didn't want to join. You didn't want any of it. You've been disconnected from the world. Wiped out from the face of Earth. No one gave information to you, you couldn't learn anything about what's happening currently. The most you could do was send letters, but even those were difficult to send out. You had to do it in secrecy or you'd be in trouble.
Love, the better sibling,
[Y/N]
Or another common send off is:
Please write back soon,
[Y/N]
And your family never failed to send back letters. They asked what you're doing, where you are and how are you, still you never told them your occupation, fearful of what they would think and where your loyalties lie, so you told them you were working under an adventurer.
It's for the greater good. You remember trying to convince yourself.
You're a horrible person.
You were sixteen then. Your younger brothers were twelve. It's been 10 long years since you last saw them, and 6 years since you last received a letter back. You miss them dearly. You often wondered what sorts of adventures they did without you.
But why are you wondering about this? You knew what they did: you knew everything that happened.
You're living under a heavy burden.
"Dad?" You call out again. Maids and wine makers look aghast when they see you, and they're on the verge of fainting when you call out to your father.
Stop the act.
It's strange how the letters were suddenly cut off. The last letter you received was from Kaeya, telling you how you needed to come home straight away. You tried to, but the Fatui prevented you from doing so. A lady called La Signora supervised you directly to make sure you didn't leave.
You know...
Adelinde brushes the dust off her uniform and hurries up the stairs to catch up to you, "Dear, is that you [Y/N?]"
"Did you forget me that easily? I'm offended Miss Adelinde," you chided, but the teasing look in your eyes give Adelinde relief to know you aren't actually offended. "Miss, where's dad?"
You're sickening.
Adelinde takes one look at you and squeezes your shoulders with a smile, "I'm afraid that's not for me to say. Master Diluc should be able to-"
"Oh, where's Diluc and Kaeya?" You ponder, and the corners of your lips curl upwards. "Those two were always attached to the hip. Where are they now? Horseback riding at the vineyard? Ha! I-"
You glance at Adelinde's watery eyes and stop your babbling. "What's wrong Miss Adelinde?" You reach for her hands on your shoulders and hold them. "Ah, has father been making you work too hard? I can request him to lessen your load."
Adelinde shakes her head no. "You don't have a clue, do you? Oh," she sighs. "Please, rest yourself by the fireplace. I'll prepare tea for you." She rests her hands back at her side and scurries to the kitchen.
You frown, unsure why she's jumpy, but you follow her request and sit by the fireplace. The crackle of the fire contrasts the tense air you feel when maids brush past you, offering tea Adelinde made. You thank them, gently blowing on the drink.
After taking a sip, you place it down with a pinky to lessen the noise it makes on the table. You hear the door open, and the choruses of maids greeting someone.
"Welcome home, Master Diluc," you hear and other voices saying, "We've prepared a meal for you and your sibling, would you like to rest yourself?"
You peek from your chair, he obviously hadn't realized you yet.
Diluc's lips make a thin line and shrugs off his jacket, "Why is Kaeya visiting. Isn't he supposed to do his knightly duties?"
You have no clue why he says it like that. The venom in his voice sends a shiver down your spine. You decide this is your cue to give him a warm welcome. You stand from your seat, and open your arms in a grand gesture and waltz to your brother. "Diluc! It's been a while huh?"
You clearly see him tense hearing your voice. His head snapped to your direction with his mouth parted. The maids respectively take their leave, bowing before they do so.
Diluc looks you up and down, still not believing you're there, like you're just his imagination. His hand slowly reaches out to you as if you're a dream.
Your feet lead you closer and you grasp him tightly in an embrace.
He freezes, but slowly relaxes in your hug, reluctantly bringing up his own arms to wrap around you. You feel his grip tightening, and you feel his shake out silent sobs. His face buries in your neck, letting tears fall on your clothes.
You soothe his back, and press a kiss on his hair. "I'm home, Diluc."
He trembles, pushing himself away to look at you clearly. Why hadn't you come home earlier? He wanted to vent, he wanted to yell, shout, he wanted to know how much he missed you in your absence.
He clears his throat and coughs in his fist. "You should have told me about your arrival," he adjusts the gloves on his hands, and looks to the floor like he did when he admitted he accidentally broke your toy when you were 10.
After these years, he still looks up to you as his older sibling. Not a thing has changed.
But you couldn't help but notice one thing. You knew Diluc and Kaeya had matured, you knew they would grow taller, but shit, now Diluc's taller than you.
"I sent a letter a month ago," you began. "It should have been sent to your office in the Favonius Headquarters? That's where I send my mail after you told me about your promotion to Cavalry Captain."
You squish his cheeks with both your hands. "Because I know you're a workaholic and only respond to letters that mean business, so that's where I sent it off to. You never write back, neither does Kaeya," you pause, thinking for a moment. "Neither does dad. Tell me he hasn't gotten sick that he couldn't respond to my letters."
Diluc lifts your hands off his face and frowns. He doesn't know how to break the news to you- not when you look so excited to be home and tell of your adventures to your family, so he asks, "Did you eat yet?"
You note the frown on his face. "'What's got you grumpy," you prod. "I need to find dad first. Told him in the first letter I gave him, I'd give the first gem I find."
Diluc watches you leave him to go to Crepus' room on the second floor. He hears the thuds on the floor and the opening of the door, but does nothing to stop you. You left with a smile, and you come back confused.
"Why is dad's room empty?"
How cruel.
...
Kaeya hums, passing by Flora's shop and purchasing a Calla Lily for the sake of it. He is well aware of the Fatui that stand by corners. Whispers of the wind give him intel, and so does alcohol apparently. He leans on a wall right outside Angel's Share, watching two Fatui members drink some of the tavern's strongest alcohol, imported from Snezhnaya.
"That damn," the one with the red and black mask hiccups, lifting a mug with foam overflowing. "Damn brat's gonna snitch on us to the Knights- *hiCC* boss lady wou- *HicC* would have our heads!"
Thankfully, their more responsible Fatui friend takes the mug and switches it with their drink, water. "You're the one who let Vindicta out of your sight when you know their frequencies to escape. This is all on you, buckaroo."
One of the Fatui escaped? How peculiar.
Kaeya hums, in steady strides he shows himself to the Fatui and takes a seat from another table and sits in front of the two. "My, my, my. If it isn't the wonderful Fatui," he divuldges. He twirls his Calla Lily around his fingers, amused with the Fatui's reactions.
Their mouths drop, knowing who he is and they hastily clean themselves up by sitting straight and wiping away the alcohol from their faces. "Good evening, sir."
"Evening to you too," he places the flower behind the person's ear, flustering them. "Well? Drink up. Everything you order will be on me."
The Fatui look at each other, skeptical with Kaeya's kindness, but the drunken one accepts the offer. Kaeya celebrates in the inside as he slowly gains Fatui intel.
Though, the second Fatui whom he dubbed the "Responsible One," took a while for them to take a sip. Turns out, they couldn't handle alcohol, that's why they avoided drinking it.
"So, my dear friends," he slides a coin on the table and stares both of them down. "A mora for your thoughts? I couldn't help but notice the tense of your shoulders when you first arrived here."
Responsible One raises their mug drunkenly, and gives a pointed look, "You... you know too much. How?..." They stare at their friend and whisper shout, "Don't tell him about Vind or-" They fail to continue their sentence and pass out on the table.
Kaeya feigns a surprised face and looks at Fatui number 2, "Who exactly is Vind? I'm sure you don't mean the storm watcher up at the cliff." He coats his voice with sugar, and it seems Fatui friend fell for his kindness.
"The damn brat," they spit out before hiccupping again. "Recruited them, fed them, saw potential, gave a home, and they escaped."
Kaeya nods and pushes another bottle of wine to the Fatui's direction, urging them to continue.
"Was supposed to be one of the Agents to spy on the *hiCc* to spy on the Ragnvindr family, because *HicC* Vind was one of the best there is. They were about to be promoted Harbinger after an assignment *hiCCUpp* but then Big Boss Lady said 'End the Ragnvindr legacy,' Vindicta left without a word. They escaped."
The Fatui downs another bottle of wine. "But judging from Boss Lady's reaction, Vind did the job: killed him and placed the blame on the Knights."
The Calvary Captain knits his brows and places his hands in front of him. It laced themselves and he watches the Fatui person empty out his wine.
"I'd be careful of what you say if I were you." His lone eye glints dangerously.
"End the legacy?" Kaeya frowns. "Can I ask..." He couldn't ask why or the Fatui would stop talking to him. "Can I ask when your beloved spy did their job?"
The Fatui waves a hand, "Six years ago. After they killed that damn aristocrat's father, they tried escaping. Big Boss supervised them under their watch. 'Potential' the Harbingers always say, but I don't see the potential in them if they don't have loyalties under the Fatui. A wild card, really."
They lay their cheek on the table. The temperature drops quite dangerously. Kaeya's diamond eye glints with coldness before it turns back to warmth.
"Rumours have it," the Fatui sighs, playing with his empty mug. "The training Vindicta went through is rougher, so we were hoping they would tie their loyalties to us. We let them explore once, and they escaped under my watch. Maybe it was their assignment to leave, maybe it's not, because Boss Lady was okay with it, she said 'Vindicta will always return in our hands.' when they first escaped, and surely enough they do return. But either way, I'm fucked for letting them go missing the third time of the week."
Kaeya laughs with no soul and quickly ends the lovely 'conversation.' He pushes himself from the table and stands, "Thank you for chatting with me, it's been interesting." He tucks in the chair and glances at the two Fatui dozing, or close to dozing off.
He swiftly turns away, scoffing when he's out of sight from people. Vindicta is a dangerous card. Not even the Fatui know where their loyalties side.
Vindicta. How peculiar indeed.
One of the best Fatui, which probably meant they were payed well with respect and mora, but why are they labeled as an escapee when they always return? With someone as dangerous as a Harbinger, who do they side with- the Fatui or something else?
Kaeya has a lot of questions.
...
Diluc sits on a cushioned chair and hunches over, resting his chin on his hands, thinking.
Always thinking.
The once lit fireplace is soaked with water he splashed over. The scent of burnt wood wafts nearby. The light chatter of maids go through one ear and leave the other.
How long had it been since he last saw you?
Eternity is his answer. It's been eternity since he last saw you.
He lets out a long sigh, throwing his head back and running a hand through his untied locks.
Too much thinking for today. Diluc groans in frustration and sits back up. He turns his head slightly, seeing you in the corner of his eyes taking out boxes of things you owned from 10 years before.
It doesn't make sense to him. Why come back so suddenly after years of not seeing you? Though, you claim you sent him letters, he never got them because he closed himself off from the Knights.
"Diluc," you set down a small picture of a family portrait you took out from hiding behind many books.
You are taking this oddly well.
You're taking this too well, in fact.
This raises a red flag for Diluc. He told you the fall out of your family, how he quit the Knights, but still you're going around the place like nothing had happened.
Don't you feel any rage? Or even sadness?
He sees too many red flags and hates it- from the way you can hide things like Kaeya so easily, to the way you just suddenly appear back in his life. It feels weird. It's not easy to let someone that in quick, yet you're still his role model, so it's okay, right?
He's always looked up to you when he was younger. You never were at a loss of words and stood up for him. You were the person he can turn to when something wrong happens, but what were you doing for yourself to be gone for so long? Adventuring Teyvat could not have taken ten whole years. Where did you even stay?
"Diluc," you crouch in front of him and talk to him as if he were six again. "I'm okay, okay?"
Diluc takes a shaky breath and sits up straight. His posture resembling a king's. "I have an idea, and I would like you to help me."
You look at him in awe. The realization settles in: Diluc has grown, and you're still stuck trying to make up the past.
"And what do I help you with?"
"Finding who's responsible for father's death."
notes: had this in my drafts for a long time and i was like "wait where was i going with this..." until BAM i have the idea again so im gonna continue it

MASTERLIST
~~~
For as long as she could remember, Y/n had always wanted to learn Russian.
So, naturally, when she found out that their newest case involved two lovers who also happened to be Russian criminals trying to escape the United States government, she simply couldn’t help but jump at the opportunity to become more involved in the investigation.
It’s not that she’d never been on a stakeout for the Bureau before, in fact she’d probably been on so many at this point that she’d lost count. The only difference that this specific stakeout brought to her life was the fact that it was her first one to have ever been shared with Spencer Reid.
Her and the young doctor had lived in the same apartment building since her first day at the BAU, but their relationship pretty much began and ended at that. Of course they greeted each other whenever they passed in the halls of their building and ricocheted off of each other’s theories whenever necessary during their meetings in the round table room, but it would be a lie to label their relationship as anything other than casual acquaintances as well as amicable coworkers.
She had never been able to fully get a grasp on the elusive Dr. Reid. The fact that he was already such an integral member of the F.B.I. at the ripe age of 25 astounded and, well to be honest, perplexed her. Not that she doubted his abilities or intelligence in any way, quite the opposite really. She admired how utterly brilliant he proved to be day in and day out, even with the shy exterior he presented himself with to the world. Well, shy was definitely more of an understatement.
She had never met someone more socially awkward in her entire life, but with that being said, she couldn’t help but find it endearing and pretty dang adorable. Y/n constantly found herself enjoying his pathetic attempts at human interaction on a daily basis. From the nervous stutters to the out of this world hand gestures, there was much for her to dissect about the young doctor. And while she could openly admit that he was quite easy on the eyes, in a boyish-innocent kind of way, she had never really been able to see him in that sort of light.
If she thought his normal social interaction skills were entertaining to witness, his reactions to any of the conversations that took a more raunchy turn were to die for. The speed at which his features would ripen red like a tomato whenever anything of a sexual nature was brought up during cases was truly amazing, impressive even. However, unlike the rest of their team, she knew he wasn’t completely innocent. The walls in their apartment were as good as paper when it came to thickness, so it wasn’t that big surprise that the sounds created within them carried fairly well.
Or at least that was what she had discovered after the first night she heard him touching himself just through her bedroom wall.
Yes, it was less than ideal that their bedroom walls just happened to be adjacent to each other, but what could she do about it? It wasn’t as though she never sought out her own pleasure while alone in her apartment...although she would bet money that she was much better at withholding her noises. Instead, she learned to adapt to the sounds from next door and continue on with her life, having accepted that guys will in fact be dudes, no matter how innocent and meek they may appear.
When her boss had explained the nature of the assignment to them, there wasn’t anything of significance that had jumped out at her. It was all pretty standard instruction. They would wait, parked, in a government issued SUV overnight at a location close to the whereabouts of the criminals and simply translate their conversations using the mics that were planted prior. While Hotch knew that Y/n herself couldn’t understand Russian, it was common knowledge that the resident genius easily could transcribe the language.
And that was how she found herself cramped next to Spencer Reid in the stagnant vehicle, pen and paper in hand, patiently waiting for the translations to begin.
It was almost completely silent inside the car, apart from the quiet whirring of the heat coming through the vents, and she could basically feel the nerves coming off of the man next to her in waves. That’s why she was completely thrown off her game when his timid voice was the first to break through the silence that had encompassed the space they inhabited together.
“So um Y/n..h-how have you been recently?”
She did her best to hide the small smirk that started to form on her face from the stuttering mess that spilled out of his mouth. She definitely didn’t want to make him feel even worse about himself so she decided to humour his adorable attempt at conversation with her...well...sort of.
“Oh ya know Reid, just counting the days until I get some action. How about you?” If she thought he was sputtering nervously before, that was nothing compared to this treasure.
“Oh um well uh I-I mean...I don-I don’t...uh...w-what was the question a-again?”
This time she couldn’t stop the airy chuckle that escaped her lips as she leaned over and patted him gently on his thigh.
“Relax Reid, I’m just fucking around with you. Well for the most part...I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to some action, but that’s a whole can of worms I am not about to open during a stakeout”, Y/n laughed, not at all missing the steadily spreading blush that coated his sharp features.
“Yeah...no..yeah right of course...I t-totally knew you were just um fu-messing with me! Uh we should probably um r-review our assignment...you know just so we’re all s-set before we start.” How adorable.
“Aye-aye captain Reid. Ok so..”, she muttered while fiddling with the listening device to secure the right frequency. “...we just have to wait until they get back so we’re in range of their conversations. That’s when you’ll have your time to shine and prove yourself as the resident genius once again. And I’m sure that you’re aware that I don’t know a lick of the Russian language so I will be the best damn transcriber for you that the world has ever seen”, she finished with a smirk.
Even Reid chuckled a bit at her words, the ever-present blush slowly creeping back upon his face and neck.
“I’ll uh-I’ll hold you to that then.” Y/n had to admit she particularly liked to see the boy smiling, especially when it was the result of her own words. His innocence seemed to call out to her like a siren and she didn’t know how to feel about it.
“Oh-oh there they are! Ok get the pen and paper ready because as soon as they’re in range I’ll start translating.”
Getting themselves situated, they waited the few seconds it took for the couple to get close enough to the vicinity of the SUV for their conversations to begin to be broadcasted through their system.
“Как вы думаете, они идут по нашему следу?”
“Do you think they’re on our trail?”, Spencer easily understands, leaning slightly closer to her so his words were clearly heard.
“Ни за что. У этих глупых американцев нет шансов поймать нас.”
“No way. Those stupid Americans don’t stand a chance at catching us.”
At this point, the couple had already disappeared behind the door at the entrance of their current base, leaving only their words to give the closely listening agents much needed context clues.
“Я когда-нибудь говорил тебе, как сильно мне нравится твоя уверенность?”
“Have I ever told you how much I love your confidence?”
Even Spencer let himself smile at the chuckle that left Y/n’s lips. “Awww how cute...they’re flirting with each other over mass murder. I strive for that kind of intimacy.”
“Да у тебя есть. Но почему бы тебе не показать мне, насколько тебе это нравится.”
“Yes, you have. But why don’t you show me just how much you love it.”
Uh oh, Y/n thought to herself. Not a second after the untimely thought permeated her brain, the sounds of wet lips sloppily colliding against each other filled the otherwise silent vehicle. After the few seconds of shock wore off, their heads whipped to face each other, eyes wide and mouths wide open. “Huh...well this was certainly an unexpected turn.”
“I uh um-uh well w-what do we do now?”, Tomato Boy nervously sputtered out over the chorus of moans and groans that were currently bouncing off the SUV’s walls. As unexpected as the present situation was, she was absolutely eating up his reaction to the crude sounds.
“Well, Hotch did say he wanted us to take down every single word that was shared between them so...I guess we’re just gonna have to keep moving forward with the translations. You can do that, can’t you Reid?”, she explained, not even attempting to hide the growing smirk on her face.
“Yeah! Yes! Mhmm I can do that, I c-can definitely do t-that.”, he gushed, trying to subtly clear his throat to clear the steadily growing tension in his body.
“Good to hear, Doc.”, she cheekily replied just as the raunchy sounds echoing through the system transitioned to different methods of communication, more legible ones.
“Ты была для меня такой хорошей девочкой. Я думаю, ты заслуживаешь награды.”
Quickly clearing his throat once more, he jumped back into action, with what Y/n noticed was considerably less confidence than before. “You’ve b-been such a good g-girl for me. I think you deserve a r-reward.” Spencer’s voice had noticeably dropped to a whisper by the end of the sentence, forcing Y/n to lean closer to be able to hear his translations, only magnifying the already present tension in the air.
“Пожалуйста, папа, я сделаю что угодно.”
“P-please daddy.” His voice broke at the end igniting something deep inside Y/n’s being. “I’ll do anything.” In that moment she truly believed he would do anything, his own words or not, based on the obvious strain in his pants that her eyes glanced over, and also by the way his skin completely succumbed to goosebumps as her warm breath caressed the shell of his ear. She didn’t really know what the hell was happening, why her body was absolutely loving the way he gradually leaned into her’s, submitting all of his vulnerabilities into her hands.
“Тебе это нравится, не так ли, маленькая шлюшка. Как член папы глубоко внутри тебя?”
She watched the way he inhaled a deep breath and released a high-pitched sigh before continuing on, subtly pressing her legs together to control the excitement thrumming through her body at his pathetic tone and mannerisms.
“You like t-that don’t you, you little-uh-you little s-slut?” From their close proximity, she could clearly make out the speedy heartbeat clambering against his chest as he spoke. And if that was the case, he must’ve been able to feel hers as well. “Like daddy’s c-cock deep inside of y-you?” She could’ve sworn she saw his dick twitch slightly in his pants.
“Маленькая шлюшка уже придет за мной? Тогда умоляйте об этом. Бля, умоляю позволить тебе кончить.”
Y/n certainly did not miss the airy sigh that escaped his lips, watching as a bead of sweat dripped down his temple, confidently guessing it was not from the heat that had been coming through the vents.
“Is the little-little s-slut gonna come for me already? B-beg for it then. Fucking beg f-for me to let you c-come.” Spencer was speedily falling apart at the seams and she was loving it. More than loving it. She was craving it. Craving the little noises that he was trying to stop from escaping his lips. Craving the way he slightly bounced his leg in an attempt to control his arousal, which was futile because it had obviously already reached its full potential in the confines of his khaki slacks.
“Пожалуйста, папа. Пожалуйста, позволь мне прийти. Мне это надо. Пожалуйста.”
Without even hearing the words translated back to her, she could hear the utter desperation in the girl’s voice. She no longer needed to understand the Russian language to be able to finish the translation, and as she sat there with her thighs tightly pressed together, she knew exactly what it meant.
“Please!” The utter need that was present in the original audio was somehow mirrored perfectly by the young doctor’s breathy voice, his eyes squeezed tightly shut, a prominent vein popping through the skin of his smooth forehead. “Please, p-please, please let me come. I n-need it. Please!”
“Приди за мной, детка.”
Deciding that she could regret her actions in the morning, Y/n quickly grabbed his face before he could translate, angling his head so she could whisper directly into his ear at the same time he spoke the last line of the night.
“Come for me baby.”, they both spoke at the exact same time.
Pulling away as fast as possible, she watched his clamped eyes shoot open as the most obnoxiously loud moan she had ever heard escaped the poor kid, his whole body spasming as a result. And using the large stain on the crotch of his pants as a guide, she was pretty certain she knew what had happened.
For the next few minutes there was silence in the SUV, apart from Spencer’s heavy breathing as he came down of course, leading them to believe the couple had fallen asleep after their...activities. Of course she wanted nothing more than to tease the trembling mess next to her, but she could already tell he was mortified beyond belief because of what happened so she didn’t want to make it any worse for him than it already was.
After waiting a few extra minutes just to make sure that they had actually gone to sleep, the pair drove away from the stakeout location, Spencer not having said a word since his...big finish. As much as she loved watching him fall apart in front of her, she really didn’t want him to feel uncomfortable around her.
“Well that was certainly an unexpected turn of events for the night, huh?”, she said, lightly chuckling with the intent of lightening his mood. She was very glad to see it had the intended effect.
“Uh y-yeah...you could definitely say that again.”, he mumbled with the ghost of a smile on his plump lips, though she could still clearly make out the blush coating his features.
“So hey, I know that you usually take the metro, but I’d be more than happy to give you a ride home after we drop the SUV off at the office if you want.”, she warmly smiled in his direction without taking her eyes completely off the road.
“Oh um..yeah that would be perfect. Thank you.”
“Don’t mention it Reid.”
~~~
The rest of the ride back to the office was pretty much spent in silence, but it was much more comfortable than it had been before, which was a huge relief. After dropping the keys to the SUV in the lock box inside, the two agents piled into Y/n’s car to go back home to their shared building. On their way back she considered just asking him if he wanted to ride with her everyday just to make his life a little easier in the long run.
Once they got to the parking lot and exited the vehicle, they began walking towards the entrance together, the awkward tension from before creeping back into the air around them. Soon enough, they found themselves standing in front of their respective doors, both unsure of how they were supposed to end the night’s interactions. After a few moments of painful silence and eye contact, Y/n was the first one to rip off the band-aid.
“So...I guess I’ll see you tomorrow Reid?” He seemed to be broken out of his trance by the sound of her voice, snapping back to attention.
“Huh? Oh yeah uh yes of course. S-see you tomorrow Y/n. Goodnight.” He scampered into his apartment before she could even get a chance to respond to his bidding.
“Goodnight.”, she whispered to no one other than herself as she unlocked her door and headed inside to shower quickly before diving into her soft sheets.
She was sitting up in her bed, book in hand, with only the small glow of her reading lamp illuminating her room when she heard it. Of course she knew immediately what they were, a talent that had developed and strengthened from living adjacent to a pretty much pubescent boy.
The tell-tale sound of moans and groans vibrating right through her wall.
She knew she probably shouldn’t be listening, something about a violation of privacy or whatever, but she just couldn’t help it. He sounded so desperate it was driving her insane. So much in fact that she was in the process of skimming her own hand downwards when she was interrupted by a certain something from the Doc’s room.
“Y/n! Oh god, please. Please.”
Oh. Oh.
Not even giving herself a second to consider her actions, she was up on her feet basically sprinting to his door, pajamas and all. Not even bothering with knocking, she noticed it was unlocked and let herself in, beelining for what she assumed was his bedroom by the increasing volume as she approached it. Standing in his doorframe, she was utterly mesmerized. There he was, sprawled across his sheets, completely bare with sweat coating his hair as he rapidly pumped his angry, red cock, her name tumbling from his lips like a chant.
“You’re so beautiful like this.” She smirked as she watched his head shoot up to where she was standing, his hand immediately stilling it’s rapid movements. Watching the panic spread on his face was intoxicating to her as she slowly approached his bed.
“Y/n! Oh my god, I’m so sorry! I uh-I didn’t um...” His words trailed off and his eyes widened as he watched her slowly begin removing her clothes as she moved closer to him.
“Shhhhhh.” She managed to remove both her shirt and pajama pants in the short trip over to his bed and she had no intention of stopping there. Now standing directly in front of him, she let her eyes wander over his still frame completely, soaking in the amazement in his dark eyes and the slight tremble that was periodically rippling through his body. Maintaining eye contact with him the whole time, she reached behind her back and unclasped her bra, letting it pool on the floor next to her.
It was honestly shocking his eyes didn’t actually fall onto the floor with how far they bulged out of their sockets, a small moan leaving his mouth.
She giggled at his enthusiasm before bringing her soft hands up to caress his face gently, his body shuddering at the contact. “Do you want me to keep going baby boy?” Taking a second to process the question that had left her lips, he slowly nodded while looking her in the eyes, his own full of awe.
Happy with his answer, she reached for the edge of her panties before pushing them down to join the other pieces of clothing already inhabiting his floor. Spencer couldn’t speak. He could barely even breathe. Five minutes ago he had been jerking off to his neighbor, who also happened to be his coworker, and now said neighbor was crawling onto his bed, completely naked, with a wicked smirk on her face.
Straddling his lap, but making sure that there was no actual contact, she reached up to cup his face again, slowly rubbing circles into his defined cheekbone. “Is this ok baby boy? Is this what you want?”, she cooed.
Spencer looked like he honestly might cry from the pure compassion laced within her words, but still found a way to nervously nod his head in affirmation of her questions. With a warm smile on her face, she leaned forward and placed a feather-light kiss on his lower jaw before continuing up the side of his face, basking in the small whimpers that fell from his pretty lips. Finally reaching his ear, she let her warm breath tease him before proceeding.
“Do you want me to take control of you? Is that what you want sweet boy?” While the whine that immediately escaped him was answer enough, she pulled back searching for a more concrete answer to her question. “Hmmmm, you’d like that?”
“Yes.”, he whispered, nodding his head anxiously.
While he was answering she had leaned back towards his face, placing soft kisses all over. “As you wish baby boy.”, she whispered, changing course to attack his neck with her eager lips as soon the words left her mouth. Spencer gasped instantly and she couldn’t help but smirk against his pale flesh, increasing the pressure in which she was assaulting his neck.
Through the groans that spilled past his lips, she was able to make out his pathetic attempt at words, not slowing down her lips at all. “J-just make sure not to leave any m-marks. We’ll g-get in trouble at w-work.” Of course Spencer would be the only person on the planet to remember their office guidelines while getting his neck sucked like a vampire.
“No marks...that’ll be difficult. I want everyone to know just how thoroughly I fucked you.”
Feeling extremely satisfied by his enthusiastic response to her vulgar words, she slowly lowered herself down his body, pausing with her mouth right above his groin. Somehow the poor kid already looked completely fucked out and she hadn’t even done anything yet. Hearing him wince as she gently grasped and started stroking his cock, she knew this was gonna be fun.
Staring directly into her eyes, he watched the string of spit leave her mouth and drip directly onto his dick, eyes bulging at her bold actions, still in shock that any of this was actually happening.
Entranced by the way his chest expanded rapidly as he watched her curiously, she leaned forward and licked the tip, his head falling back onto the pillow behind him. “I’m gonna suck your cock...but only because I want to see if you can not be a spaz about getting head from me.” Her words made Spencer whimper and she smirked as she took him fully into her mouth, soaking in his pretty noises.
Y/n had only been going for a minute or two when she heard his groans get louder and felt him twitch in her mouth. Pulling off of him with a pop, she hummed at the sight of the completely wrecked boy in front of her, panting and shaking adorably. It wasn’t long before the perfect idea infiltrated her head, her body thrumming with anticipation and excitement.
“You’ve been such a good boy for me. I think you deserve a reward.”, she smirked, reciting the words that they had heard verbatim. Seemingly catching on to what she was pushing for, he responded accordingly.
“Please Y/n. I’ll do anything.”
She quirked her eyebrow in his direction questioningly, slowly grinding her dripping core against his achingly hard cock. “Anything, baby boy?”
Snapping his heated stare directly to her eyes, he cracked a beautiful smile. “Anything.”
She couldn’t control the grin that overtook her lips as she lowered herself down onto his erection, writhing in pleasure at the feel of him inside of her and the sound of his wanton moans. “Good boy.”
Wanting to give Spencer time to fully adjust and control himself, she started her movements out slow, lifting herself up until only his tip remained inside before dropping down completely into his lap repeatedly. He was a moaning mess on the sheets below her, sweat coating his body along with goosebumps covering every visible expanse of his skin as he panted like a dog. He was so fucking pretty like this.
Deciding enough was enough, she picked up the pace considerably, bouncing like a mad woman on his dick, while her sharp nails scratched down his creamy, pale chest in front of her, leaving angry, red streaks in their wake. Spencer had devolved into a blubbering mess underneath her and that lit her soul on fire.
“You like that don’t you, you little slut? Like your cock deep inside of me? Huh?”
Y/n was pretty sure that he was short circuiting below her, his brain cutting off all control over his body as he spasmed uncontrollably and moaned for the entire fucking building to hear. Good, she thought. Let them hear how whipped he was for her. Even though it had only been a few minutes since she increased her speed, she could feel his cock starting to twitch violently inside of her and she knew he was close, really close.
“Is the little slut gonna come for me already?” All he could do was whimper in response, having to nod his head emphatically due to his loss of speech.
“Beg for it then. Fucking beg for me to let you come!” She was on fucking cloud nine right now, floating through the motions, as his whimpers increased in volume and speed. Mustering up all the strength he could, he spit out as many audible words as possible.
“Please! Please, please, please let me come! I need it! Please!” He was crying now, tears rapidly pouring from his eyes and spilling down his cheeks out of sheer desperation and need to release the tension built up within his body.
She was in awe of him. As she watched the tears pour down his face, she couldn’t help but whimper too. Desperately needing to finish, herself, she brought one hand down to make circles around her clit, while the other she brought up to wrap gently around his flushed throat, leaning over to whisper in his ear like she had earlier that night.
“Come for me, baby.”
She once again pulled back to witness his reactions to her hushed words, the outcome only more amazing than before. She watched as his eyes rolled back as far they could possibly go into his head as his mouth dropped open in pure ecstasy, high-pitched whines escaping his lips, his release shooting up into her like it had always belonged there. Maybe it had.
Watching him come undone below her, combined with her hand speedily rubbing circles on her clit, she was catapulted into the most amazing climax of her entire life, her body buzzing with excitement as she tightened around him and collapsed on his chest, weak as could be after that activity.
The pair laid silently, apart from the heaving breaths whirring through the room, still in shock over what had just transpired minutes before. Slowly shifting her eyes to the shivering boy below her, she saw he was caught in a trance, his eyes dazed, a soft grin on his lips.
Breaking him from his stupor, she gently cupped his cheek with one hand as the other drew lazy circles on his blotchy chest. Rubbing the skin on his face lightly, she leaned forward and kissed his nose, making him scrunch it up and giggle as a result. “Such a sweet boy for me. Such a sweet, sweet boy.” Her words made him melt inside and words tumbled out of his own mouth before he could even think about stopping them.
“Вы красивы внутри и снаружи.”
She looked up at him in shock, before breaking out in giggles. “Did you just serenade me in Russian? How romantic.”, she giggled, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.
He couldn’t seem to control his giggles either, a fact that warmed her heart. “Yes, I suppose I did.”
Smiling up at the adorable boy she just had to ask. “What does it mean?”
Y/n watched as his signature blush quickly coated his features once again as he looked down at her with a shy smile. “You are beautiful, inside and out.”
With the warmest grin she could muster, she leaned up and kissed his jaw once more before snuggling up against the young doctor who had melted her heart.
