Can we kill the whole “no attention on artwork is sad and means it was a waste of time” thing? Like Seriously can we kill it. I put a fuckton of effort into my art and it usually gets like, 10 likes, and that doesn’t really matter to me bc I love making it. I’m grateful for nice comments, but I’m gonna keep making the stuff I make regardless.

Like ok I’m not trying to sound all holier than thou here, but the amount of artists online who say stuff like “this artwork was a flop, so I’m feeling really discouraged” is making me go crazy. Is that all it is for you guys? Content? When you’re making artwork are you just making content for an audience? No offence but I feel like that’s a huge fucking waste of time, way more than making art you like and getting minimal attention on it.

thanks for your answer !! i think champagne problems at least has worked extremely well to push that first narrative because its what i think most gaylors believe, that karlie chose josh over her & that ended their relationship in 2019. so i think ylm goes along with that! i tend to take folkmore songs more literally than most but i definitely think theres several aspects of fiction she doesn't usually incorporate in her songs, one being to tell stories about her relationships to the public for them to believe that aren't necessarily true.

i think i take maybe 3 folklore songs literally 😆 evermore is a bit of a mixed bag for me as well.

And I was like… what??? Was so tempted to write a whole thing about it but decided the hate I’d get wasn’t worth it. What are your opinions about this?

It's not karma for Harry to suffer for James' mistakes. It's bullshit and I hope that no one that believes that has ever done anything wrong in their lives or their kids shall suffer. AND THERE"S NOTHING FUNNY ABOUT THIS BS.

Now, let's point out how else they're wrong.

First of all, I had to re-read the Prince's Tale - and mind you, I did skim it so I could've missed things, but there is NO WHERE that says he was 'malnourished' as a boy. Not a single description said anything was physically wrong with Snape like malnourishment. It talks about his mismatched clothes, and his parents arguing. There's a line about James having an 'air of well-cared for - ness that Snape lacked' but there's NOTHING that he states he was malnourished or even abused.

So that's utter BS. I won't argue about the abuse, but there was no evidence that he was malnourished.

As for the about "just for existing" - I think a lot of people forget that SWM canonically happens *after* James saves Snape's life from Werewolf Remus. The reason that it's easy to figure that out is there is a scene with Snape/Lily arguing about the MM thing and she literally mentions James saving him the other night.

The next scene is SWM.

Now, before get into that importance - I want to point out that in the scene about MM & the saving of Snape, Lily asks, "Why are you so obsessed with them?" and if it was a relentlessly unfair bullying situation there's two obvious answers:

A) he's been bullying me for years

B) I have to obsess so I can get one over on them.

He doesn't say either of those things - you know what he *does* say - he says "Potter fancies you"... and more about 'how great he thinks he is'.... isn't that rather suspicious?

You know what's also suspicious? If Snape's being relentlessly bullied than WHY DOESN"T HIS BEST FRIEND KNOW THE OBVIOUS? Maybe because it wasn't a situation of bully/victim - maybe it was a rivalry like Dumbledore suggested in the first book.

Now, back to the timeline:

So James saves his life and yet says "it's the fact that he exists" - which sounds terrible, right?

Of course it does, but here's the thing - Snape had literally as recently possibly two weeks previously (we don't know *exactly* when but sometime between Nov of 5th year and OWLs) had attempted to (at best) OUT Remus (at worst) KILL Remus - who is ONE of James' BFFs. Now - on top of that - we know that Snape has been obsessed with a theory for ages about Remus. We see this in the MM & Saving conversation - Lily says "I know your theory" with the air of someone that has heard his theories before. Given that he only found out *for sure* within a few days of that conversation that suggests that he has been going after Remus for a while.

So, here we have Snape's attempt to get Remus out or killed and James has every reason to hate him - he's a loyal guy. He believes in his friendships so much it cost his life and literally learned something that could put him behind bars *just to help his friend*. Whatever happened, however it happened, that doesn't matter to James.

What *does* matter is that Snape tried to detrimentally hurt his friend. So he has a reason, but in SWM, he literally *can't* say that. He would be outing Remus and he's not going to do that.

Which means he NEVER did anything *just because he exists* - he had a reason, he just couldn't say it.

Now, why does James have fans?

Because he's a good man. This is the man that did stupid shit when he was a teen, sometimes for good, sometimes for bad, but nothing he did was ever on par with the things that Snape was doing - I've got a while post on that.

After he grows up, he joins the Order - to do good for people that he doesn't have to care about, yet does. He does so much good, he becomes a target. In that, he then goes on to give his life for wife and son. And they think this man doesn't deserve fans? What Bullshit is this??

This is from the latest Rollins interview. I feel like an idiot now, I was desperately hoping that we would see the turning next season - but while I think Rollins may not reveal everything I don’t think he would outright lie. So we won’t see the turning.

I walked into the finale open to an exclusively present-day DM that might(!) kick-off and I didn’t expect too much given what screeners had warned about. I never thought Daniel would be turned completely off-screen however… I know there’s rumours they might write DM into the past still, but I’m a fan of Daniel and Armand outside of the ship as well and knowing we won’t see Daniel’ turning, probably won’t see anything of his first time with becoming a vampire (because of the time skip) and seeing that Armand might(?) actually have turned someone out of spite makes me just sad.

I also feel a bit off-put by how Rollins is speaking about if, feels a bit like he’s trying to affirm to fans well see more of them together (maybe surprised that so many people are invested?) but also just gives off the vibe that the DM if it all wasn’t fully planned out in the moment of writing. Which sucks when you decide to have one turn the other! This frankly does not inspire confidence and make me feel like my favourite characters been reduced to plot devices (in good writing characters can be both character and plot tool but now this doesn’t feel like it).

When does Armand do something out of spite.

And… I came up only with one distinct event that I, personally, would call spite, namely when he goes and has that affair with that english guy - to spite Marius.

Marius. Not yet introduced as a character, but more than hinted at. The one Daniel has also a relationship with in the books.

And here we’re back to my theory that DM did happen in the past… and that Marius wiped Daniel‘s memories.

Eric let spill recently that there might be something between Raglan and Daniel and… well on one hand… but you know if Raglan, as I also theorized, is actually Marius… then that would make a lot of sense.

DM happened in the past. Marius intervened (like he likes to do). Standing order is to leave Daniel alone (maybe). But… Daniel gets sick. They redo the interview. The “surprise“ after dinner, that never comes to pass (Louis wanting to turn Daniel for Armand?!). Louis leaving Armand with Daniel, (utterly pissed at Armand and therefore retracting his promise to turn Daniel) forcing Armand’s hand… Armand… knowing that if Daniel leaves now he will die soon.

And Armand turns Daniel - out of spite.

But not to spite Louis, or Daniel. Nor are they enemies (that‘s BS and given how Assad has talked about Loumand and what it has been on the show I do call BS here).

No, he does it to spite Marius, who wants Daniel mortal (for whatever reason). He does it IN spite of Marius‘ standing order. THAT woukd make sense to me.

And it would also explain why Armand isn’t there after… Marius might have come by for a… chat.

I know this sounds wild.

But honestly - spite? Anger?!! No. That doesn’t make any sense to me. And, I‘m sorry Assad, but I‘m side-eying your statements there after the Loumand ones. *shrugs*

So.

It sucks that we maybe won’t get the turning.

But I BET - I bet they have a good reason for that. Because it would contradict what they’re trying to establish for now.

It will be a big twist for show-only fans after all when it will be made clear why Armand turned him truly.

So. These are my thoughts, after chewing on it for a bit. Knowing Rolin likes to troll a bit obviously plays into that as well. And Hannah‘s tweet.

Yugo and Amalia’s relationship is much more complicated than you think.

Sometimes I wonder what Amalia meant when she said “Nothing is impossible.” at Yugo’s explanation of why they couldn’t be together.

Like I know you want that eliatrope ass but he’s got a point shawty.

What do you think would’ve happened if he got into a relationship earlier on with you??? Can you imagine how it would’ve looked like?? My god there would be so much drama and rumours in the Sadida kingdom….but like really big ones to the point where it wouldn’t sound funny or entertaining anymore, but just criminal 💀

Also, how is she gonna….you know? Do anything to him? Sure, Yugo’s mentally a man but he still has a 10-year-old body.

Did Amalia not think this through when she told him “Nothing is impossible.”???? Either she said that because she genuinely only wanted to keep things pure with him besides hand-holding and kissing, or she’s just a really freaky bitch in bed.

There can’t be anything else, it’s either one of them or she just said that without thinking.

Imagine being a servant in her kingdom if Yugo did get together with her before season 3…..I love drama but I don’t wanna get scarred for life, there’s a limit.

Amalia would legit be the scariest one in the relationship though. Like it’s cute and very loyal of her to accept him even if he doesn’t look like a grown man but if you’re fine getting tongue kissed by him ON THE MOUTH when he looks like a minor AND you don’t care what others say, then you’re a menace to society. I wouldn’t even be worried for Yugo, I’d just be worried for everyone else’s sake. (Before ppl come for my ass, dw i loved the yumalia kiss cuz no one was around them-)

Some people are saying that Yugo’s reason for not being with her is bs because “love is love” and “Yugo can just explain that his race ages slowly to people”.

When in actuality, it’s all very much more complicated than it already looks.

In fact, their relationship could raise so many problems and conflicts that I decided to list them up for you. Here are the following reasons why these two being together can go very wrong:

1) Amalia isn’t a normal Sadida. She’s a PRINCESS of the SADIDA KINGDOM. Marriage isn’t just some event that happens and then ends. It won’t look like the one Dally and Eva had. Royal marriages are a bigger deal than they let on and it’s a public thing to witness.

2) Amalia is a public and authoritative figure. Meaning that if she were to marry Yugo, the whole world would know that she got with a man who’s stuck in a child’s body. Sure, even if Yugo explained the situation to the other nations, this would still look very weird and off-putting for the others to see. People would still wonder why (and especially how) Amalia fell in love with Yugo when he looks like that. They would definitely start asking questions. Not to mention that if Amalia were to showcase who she loves to the world, plenty of sick twisted people would see their relationship and feel encouraged to continue their behavior (you know exactly what kind of ppl I’m talking about here). And if those same disgusting people got caught doing immoral things with children, they would just point fingers at Amalia and say “But if she does it, how come I can’t?”. They’d start blaming her for their actions, making her look even worse to the public.

3) No matter how you look at their relationship, the only ones who would genuinely feel comfortable witnessing them together would be Ruel, Eva, Dally, Adamaï, and even Elely and Flopin. They know Yugo and Amalia on a personal level because they have all been through so much with these two that they know exactly how they are and know that Amalia isn’t the type to take advantage of Yugo like that. But if the rest of the world were to see them like this? That’s a hard no.

4) Amalia claims that she doesn’t care what other people think. That means she wouldn’t be ashamed or shy to give Yugo affection out in public, she definitely feels like the type to do public displays of affection with her significant other. Who knows who could see them together? Teenagers, adults, senior citizens, but especially the children who would pass by them and be too confused to understand why a grown woman is kissing a ‘child’ like that.

5) Her family (which currently consists of Armand and Aurora) would immediately stop her from getting together with Yugo. Because yes, her family would also be a problem. (I was surprised that I didn’t see a lot of people mention the Sadida family to be another factor against their relationship.) Armand is too much of a strict brother. He won’t be easy to sway and he always says what he thinks. He’d immediately (and clearly) explain to Amalia that this decision of hers is a very disgusting and shocking one. The idea of throwing harsh words at her wouldn’t seem very far-fetched for Armand to do. Not only that, but he’d also start to become very strict on her, wanting to know her whereabouts at all times and make sure that her time outside of the kingdom is limited since he now knows he can’t trust her when it comes to what types of men she loves and especially who she’s friends with. Aurora, on the other hand, is already very manipulative so she’d most likely side with her husband on everything that he says when it comes to Amalia.

6) And last but not least, her relationship with Yugo would make the royal Sadida family look extremely bad in front of the other kingdoms and nations. Like I said before, since Amalia is a public/authoritative figure due to her royal status, her choices to inflict any action has a chance to make her family look bad. The same can be said for Armand too if he did anything without thinking.

So in short, not only would Amalia and Yugo’s relationship look weird and wrong to the world no matter what Yugo says, but their relationship could also affect and hurt a lot of people if these two are not careful or aware of how they’d look like, especially Amalia.

i’ve never seen an elriel make this claim. in fact, we are all incredibly excited to see elain’s growth in the next book for this reason. you can’t have a compelling story without a flawed character. we just don’t degrade her for those flaws by calling her boring or useless or weak, unlike them.

meanwhile gwynriels pop a hemorrhoid any time we try to say that gwyn isn’t perfect because to them, she is flawless, which is why she needs to be with azriel because he “deserves better.”

The same Gwynriels that have called Elriels misogynistic and other non-polite words as well as attacking them for believing in the LightSinger theory or having any theory that potrays Gwyn to be morally grey instead of perfection - the same group of people that have Gwyn as the flawless friend, auntie, spy, warrior, ruler etc etc. She literally has 0 flaws. Even Gwynriels haven’t bothered to theorised about Gwyn’s character growth/journey. Its always about what she can do for Azriel/Nesta. And it makes sense. Most of her stans that are also gwynriels only like her bcs she is a stereotypical character with little depth so its perfect for stans who love to self-insert themselves.

Saying Mass doesn’t like to write about perfect characters with 0 faults but then stanning and theorising Gwyn - who has 0 flaws - will get a book… is just hilarious. Honestly, they embarrass themselves 😭

When I - or other elriels - say elain is “perfect” its said in an exaggerated, “I love this character so much” way. Not in a “she’s actually perfect and has done nothing wrong” kind of way. Yes. Elain has flaws. She has growth to do, a journey of self-discovery to grow. The difference is: Elriels just don’t hate Elain for BS reasons like Gwynriels. Elriels don’t find Elains behaviour towards Lucien wrong or something she needs to apologise for - the way Eluciens do. We do not criticise Elain the way Eluciens/Gwynriels do. Their criticism is always based on misogyny. As far as I know - elriels may critique Elain but what has that woman really done wrong? In a series where you have r4pists, SAs, emotional or physical abusers- Elain not planting a vegetable garden as a child doesn’t seem like a big thing to hold against her. Im not saying she is “perfect” she definitely needs to apologise to Feyre but for Elain - it will be more self-discovery, dabbling into her fanged beast side etc.

Context: For convenience reasons and future things I have planned, you‘ll be sharing this really big house with all of the characters I‘ll write these headcanons for. Why are you sharing this house? Just because I can. I’ll find a better reason later. This also includes Alejandro, Rudy, Graves, König and Horangi. This is kinda like a peaceful AU, where they don‘t work military jobs. This can be read as platonic or romantic, I don‘t really care.

John Price

•He‘s the peace keeper in the household along with Rudy.

•He can‘t go without tea in the morning and it‘s the first thing he does. If you drink tea and are awake just as early, he‘ll also make you a cup.

•Price is only half-awake in the morning, so he‘ll accidentally say yes to the stupidest things, because he isn‘t really paying attention.

•Maybe he could work as a police officer? I'm not sure if I can see him do anything else. Suggestions are greatly appreciated lol.

•I feel like he’d play chess. Or just like. Strategy games altogether. With anyone who’s willing to join :D

•But mainly with Ghost and Alejandro. And König if he’d have the balls to approach Price.

•Even if he’s being dragged along, he just films whatever bs Roach and Soap are up to though. They need a camera man!

•In the morning he also makes himself a cup of tea, but he’s awake later than Price is. Usually when breakfast is ready already

•He’s a little groggy and sometimes grumpy in the morning. (Soap advice to you when you join the household is to not talk to Gaz before he’s had his breakfast and tea!)

•I can see Gaz spending hours in the bathroom in the morning and he ends up pissing everyone off, especially because Horangi, Alejandro and Soap also take ages in the bathroom

•I’m not sure what he’d work as, but maybe a professional gymnast? Is that what they’re called? Help—

•Or maybe a daycare attendant?

•I think he’d like cooking, so he usually makes dinner and lunch for everyone

•He has two lists; one with everyone’s allergies, likes and dislikes, and one with the meals he makes for dinner for the week

In a recent interview, I imprudently said I was a “cultural Christian”, and I haven’t heard the end of it. I find myself unwillingly counted in the Great Christian Revival (translation, “We don’t actually believe that stuff ourselves, but we like it when other people do”) which is the subject of so much wishful thinking these days.

Of course I’m a cultural Christian. Always have been. Packed off to Anglican schools, I was confirmed when too young to know better. Large chunks of the English Hymnal were imprinted in my long-term memory, and duly pop out when I’m fooling around with my electronic clarinet. I know my way around the Bible, at least well enough to take an allusion when I encounter one. I love mediaeval cathedrals. I’ve never met a parson, of either sex, that I didn’t like. But none of that undermines my conviction that what they believe about the nature of reality is nonsense.

An irritating strain of the Great Christian Revival is the myth of the God-shaped hole. “When men choose not to believe in God, they then believe in anything.” The famous aphorism, which GK Chesterton never uttered, is enjoying one of its periodic dustings-off, following the vogue for women with penises and men who give birth. Whenever I sound off against this modish absurdity, I’m met with a barrage of accusations. “Frankly Richard, you did this. You defended woke BS for years” (of course I didn’t: quite the opposite but, for this believer in the God-shaped hole, discouraging theism is indistinguishable from encouraging woke BS). “But don’t you see, you helped to bring this about.” “What do you expect, if people give up Christianity?” Then there’s this, from a Daily Telegraph opinion column:

“New Atheists allowed the trans cult to begin. . . By discrediting religion, Dawkins and his acolytes created a void that a new, dangerous ideology filled.”

And here’s Debbie Hayton on The Spectator’s website, writing (mostly reasonably) about a recent episode in which Jerry Coyne, Steven Pinker and I resigned from the Honorary Board of an atheist organisation that’s been taken over by the trans cult:

“An atheistic organisation worth its salt would oppose these movements in the same way that it opposes established religion, so Coyne, Pinker and Dawkins are right to walk away. The scientific reasons are more cogent by far. They are based on evidence rather than scripture, authority, tradition, revelation or faith. I’ve spelled them out elsewhere, and will do so again but not here. I’ll just support the claim that the trans-sexual bandwagon is a form of quasi-religious cult, based on faith, not evidence. It denies scientific reality. Like all religions it is philosophically dualistic: where conventional religions posit a “soul” separate from the body, the trans preacher posits some kind of hovering inner self, capable of being “born in the wrong body”. The cult mercilessly persecutes heretics. It abuses vulnerable children too young to know their own mind, encouraging them to doubt the reality of their own bodies, in extreme cases inflicting on those bodies irreversible hormonal, and even surgical damage.

Far from playing into the hands of these preachers, my colleagues and I are opposed to all faith creeds, all non-evidence-based belief systems. This includes traditional supernatural religions, but it also includes younger faith systems such as that in which a man literally becomes a woman (or a woman a man) by fiat. Or by legal decision (you could as well legally repeal the laws of thermodynamics so we can have perpetual motion machines).

How patronising, how insulting to imply that, if deprived of a religion, humanity must ignominiously turn to something equally irrational. If I am to profess a faith here, it is a faith in human intelligence strong enough to doubt the existence of a God-shaped hole.

half-lidded somber eyes stay glued to the ceiling, fighting the urge to fall into a deep slumber. kozume’s mind continued to replay the conversation he had in the morning with keiji once yn had left his dorm room.

“i think i might like yn,” the sudden announcement took the blond by surprise, his brows knitting together as he tried to let those six words sink in. 

“...again?” his cat-like eyes seemed to pierce into keiji’s soul who was a bit too intimidated to return the gaze. a sudden mixture of bitter resentment, anxiety, insecurity, and even possessiveness started to brew inside the blond. 

“i think i might like yn.. again.” keiji restated, hands tightening around the bag of ice he held against his nose.

a few silent seconds pass by. kozume kept his gaze on keiji, arms now firmly crossed against his chest. “how long has it been since you realized you liked her again? or … could it be you just never got over her since the two of you broke up?” not wanting to sound accusing and have this conversation make things awkward between the two, kozume tried to keep the tone of his voice natural. ‘just a normal conversation between friends.’ but deep down he knew it was already beginning to stir unwanted feelings amongst them. 

keiji hummed, genuinely trying to give kozume an answer, “i don’t know. i really don’t know. it’s just…seeing her so often during volleyball practice and the band…i realized that i missed how we were. i missed our relationship, and i missed her in general. and i know,” he met kozume’s eyes now, deep blue contrasting heavily against a warm golden pair, “the break up was entirely my fault, but sometimes i wonder what it would be like if i was given another chance to show yn that i really am a good boyfriend and that, what happened back then was me just not knowing what my priorities were.”

‘...another chance…’ those two words seemed to mock kozume, unbeknownst to keiji. ‘how long have i known yn and still not been given a single chance?’ of course, none of this was yn’s fault. she didn’t know kozume had hidden feelings for her. she couldn’t have known that he began developing a crush on her in the second grade when she easily beat him in his favorite game that he had been working so hard to earn a high score on. she couldn’t have known that part of the reason he had joined volleyball in middle school along with tetsurou was that he wanted her to see how cool he was, even though he hated it so much in the beginning. she couldn’t have known that he secretly hated when other people started to copy her and call him ‘kozu’ or ‘koz’ because it felt special having a nickname that only she called him by. yn could not have known that kozume had liked her first, far beyond when she started unknowingly reciprocating his feelings because the only people that truly knew the truth were tetsurou and later on, shoyou.

their junior year of high school was the only time, it seemed, that the two had the possibility of ending up together before things took a turn once they entered college. yn began to notice how cute kozume was, she was comfortable enough to even openly say how attractive he was whenever she got the chance, and tetsurou, being the wingman that he says he is, pushed kozume to confess his feelings after seeing his sister show common attraction. unfortunately, the whole thing lasted for a short time as yn grew busy with her passion for the arts and didn’t want to concern herself in a relationship. fast-forward to their sophomore year in college, kozume met keiji who quickly grew interested in yn and persistently tried to woo her. keiji didn’t know kozume still (or at all) bore the same feelings, especially when kozume did nothing to stop the two from slowly falling for each other.

content with even just staying close friends with yn after high school was enough for the blond. or well, that was what he tried to tell himself. in all honesty, he slowly began to resent himself for not allowing himself to be a bit selfish. whenever he saw yn, who was one of his best friends and crush, be with keiji, another friend, he felt everything to be unfair. no matter how hard he tried to get over her, his feelings toward yn felt like a magnetic force, always pulling, luring, beckoning him to be caged with his unrequited love forever.

when he found out yn broke up with keiji, the part of his heart that swore to always belong to her lit up with hope and he hated himself for that. that’s why, even with yn’s current feelings for him, he just couldn’t fully let himself be happy. he knew, because of his friendship with keiji, one of them had to sacrifice their feelings in order to continue being friends. and he tried to force himself to be the one who would do so.

but is that really true? would keiji be mad at him for liking yn?  even if kozume liked her first?  even if yn was the one to break off the relationship with keiji?

keiji cleared his throat, seeing as kozume suddenly went unresponsive and lost in thought. “so, if it’s not too much to ask, could you back off?”

“what?”

“y’know…” the black-haired setter tilted his head, now seemingly looking down at his friend. “because even if i try to get back with yn, she’s too focused on you right now so it’ll be close to impossible. i can’t get her back when she thinks she likes you. i mean, you don’t actually believe that she likes you right?” the question felt like a stab to the chest and kozume couldn’t help but dig his fingernails into his triceps to prevent himself from suddenly lashing out. “and besides, even if you did start to develop feelings for yn in the short amount of time she started ‘liking’ you, it’s just not the same as how i feel for her. i love yn, which is why i’m trying to be better for her so that we can try again and actually work out this time. c’mon kozume, this isn’t something you need a lot of time to think about. i’m the right one for yn, not you. you’re her childhood friend, i thought you were fine with that role?”

the memory of the conversation was put to a stop by a familiar ringtone. finding his phone on the table beside the couch he lay on, kozume answered the call,

"bro, kozu, where are you? practice started like five minutes ago. it's not like you to be late." it was tetsu.

kozume pulled the phone away from his ear to check the time, a tired sigh escaping his lips as he realized he let his mind eat away his awareness of reality. "shit."

"and don't think i haven't forgotten about your little text. what do you mean by 'sorry'? what's happening, kozume? are you okay? c'mon talk to me, i'm like side-hustling as a therapist right now, i’ll even give you a free trial, no payment bro trust. just this once though, gotta pay for my tuition somehow y’know."

This might be an odd way to answer a question in the tags of a post, but yes, Hoid is a more condescending narrator in Yumi!

I believe this is actually intentional, Hoid is generally described as condescending and frustrating by characters in the Cosmere (this is why I made that post, because seeing him have the same effect on IRL people is HILARIOUS)

But a review of a book is the review of the reader's experience, there are a lot of reasons someone might have a terrible time with a condescending narrator. It's good that these people expressed their opinions and shared their experience so If someone also dislikes that kind of narration they can make the informed decision not to read the book! (Or read it later)

I am so glad to see so many new people start reading BS's books, Tress was a great read and it warms my heart to see it get so much love.

Tldr: Hoid's rank attitude is intentional, and not everyone's cup of tea.

LOLLLLL that’s actually hilarious Hoid is worse in Yumi!! Ok, that makes sense then. It is good to know the reader’s honest thoughts because — yeah if he is that bad, it makes sense they would be mad about it! And it’s good to warn other readers so they don’t have a frustrating time too! I just feel bad that some assume the narrator = the author, which is what it sounds like even though they know Hoid is a separate narrator. While I’m SUPER new to the scene, I guess I just had such a great time with my reading experience on Tress, I feel bad that some of these reviews sound like they won’t try any of his other books because they assume it’ll be the same way. But — alas, that’s how it goes sometimes! I went in with the assumption the “secret projects” were likely different from his other books (I think Tress’s author’s note makes that clear), but I looked at Yumi’s note and it doesn’t have the same clarity — so I can see how that can be confusing for new readers who happened to upon Yumi and the Nightmare Painter first!

I’m super excited to get into more Cosmere novels and actually start Yumi — though, unlike these reviewers, I know what I’m in for with Hoid!

To all the anons and shippers:

First, kindly fuck off. Grow up and learn how to engage with people on the internet who's opinions differ from yours. Secondly, get a hobby. Thirdly, ask yourself why you are defending someone who doesn't know you, will forget you moments after meeting you, and doesn't care that you are up in arms for her.

Now to every bringing up that Zoe what at the party as a defense for kaia's actions and behavior... What does those two things have to do with each other? Was Zoe's mere presence supposed to make Kaia behave herself? Was zoe there to baby sit her and somehow fail? Was zoe supposed to police this grown ass adult and keep her faithful (we'll say it this way since we don't have confirmation that they broke up) was zoe supposed to get between Kaia and Marcelo and remind them to leave a foot for Jesus?

How does Zoe and Austin working together mean she is some how responsible for Kaia at a party? What does her existing or non existent relationship with Kaia supposed to do to change the contents or context of those pictures? Explain it to us like we're five.

"The pictures are innocent. I dance with my guy friends like that, it's not a big deal. Austin likes to work, Kaia likes to party. They were drunk. Blah blah blah!"

At the end of the day you make yourself sound like the kind of girls, yes girls not women cause y'all be acting childish, that think kissing a girl isn't cheating on your boyfriend. Or giving a lap dance to a guy friend would be ok with your partners cause, y'all just friends. In adult relationships, there's boundaries and expected behaviors. Kaia is a child acting out and y'all wanna defend her by making yourselves sound trashy and toxic.

Grow up, get some life and love experience, then come join the conversation.

I’ll say it again Zoe has nothing to do with the actions of Kaia. Just because she is working with Austin doesn’t mean Kaia will have any shame doing what she did.

I am over shippers at this point . You can’t even have a reasonable conversation with them. They see that you don’t kiss Kaia’s ass and turn into fucking trolls.
