Lore Ask Compilation: "Every Other Question Is About The Drow's Dick" edition
Oh I LOVE Minthara, her dialogue is absolutely fascinating and in my opinion some of the best written In the game. Experiencing her in my Evil Durge playthrough without having been spoiled to her companion scenes prior was great - the amount of depth they managed to add to her, without it at all feeling forced or rushed, and considering how much less time she gets to develop at our side is really well done. While nearly everyone's quests had me immersed, she was one of the few characters who really made me pause and think about the things she had to say to me, what she truly meant by them, and what they meant for me as an avatar doing an evil run.
We have a lot of characters in this game that are meant to be full of wisdom and experience, who are meant to be the ones who say the right thing at the right time that inspires us to make the correct choices, but I don't think either Halsin or Jaheira (and I love Jaheira) made me feel like I knew so little about life quite as Minthara did.
And, of course, she's absolutely hysterical. 10/10 I wish she had a proper companion quest past being rescued but I understand why she doesn't.
[MORE ASKS UNDER THE CUT]
It doesn't connect to the urethra since the slit in on top, so he nuts and pisses normal.
Also you 100% are not sorry, stop lying to me.
Man, I thought a lot about this one because I play so fast and loose with the content the game gives us that I'm positive there must be SOMETHING I'm completely disregarding, but I couldn't think of anything! I've chosen to pick slightly less obvious interpretations to some lines and text but nothing that completely deviates from canon, I don't think. If anyone has noticed something I neglected to mention, feel free to let me know - not because I want to revise it, but just because I'm curious!
For the second part of the question, not really. Larian did a great job of giving us plenty of room to play around in the dark urge's background, I think I'm yet to see something that I find to truly "not fit" in the ample freedom they've given us. I have my preferences, of course - I'm shocked to find that most dark urge's are NOT big hulking beasts, for example - in fact that seems to be the minority by far, but I realize that I have my... Uh... Biases.
You can see a cute little divot through the fabric if you look closely LOL
And nah, I think his penis has seen enough sharp points for a lifetime.
Well.
Unless someone decided to add some bite-marks to it.
HMMM, I... Don't think so.
He didn't cry as a baby, he didn't cry as a child (and this isn't something I just decided on now - this is a major reason why his foster drow mother even kept him around) he didn't really cry growing up or at any point during the campaign. I think he is capable of it - sadness in him just tends to be far more confusing a feeling than anything else.
He will have emotional moments in ANE, whether or not that will culminate in crying is something you will have to wait to find out LOL
Astarion has noticed this and just took it as a character trait - the drow doesn't cry, he just gets confused, angry, frustrated or simply bottles it up. While he can be demanding of his emotional maturity, he isn't going to try and dictate how he should experience his own feelings. If it did happen it would definitely catch him majorly off-guard, perhaps even shift the perception he has of him to a certain extent.
Oh my god you just know they All managed to be utterly quiet about it for as long as humanly (and unhumanly) possible until like, I don't even know, halfway through the Shadow-cursed lands where one day Karlach finally turns back to the group around the campfire after a half-nude drow has strut past and she's like "SO
"DOES ANYONE KNOWS WHY HIS DICK HAS A SNATCH"
And Wyll is like :0... Karlach you can't just ask people that.
And then she pointedly turns to Astarion and starts trying to interrogate him on how it works while Gale covers his ears and Shadowheart is like:
This is gonna blow you guys backwards but he does not do those things in front of people and thinks its rude if you do.
HMMM Mostly physically but it's a little subtle. He really enjoys interacting with Astarion's (and previously Orin's) hands - kissing, holding, caressing. Touching hair and faces as well. He can engage in more overt physical affection but usually Astarion has to be the one to initiate.
A disarmingly earnest proclamation of love and adoration here and there as well - he isn't shy in the slightest to tell people how he feels about them, he just isn't constantly reminding them of it unless inspiration strikes.
Most of all I think he expects his loved-ones to see his care for them in his tendency to go out of his way to help them achieve their goals.
He went with them to the Shadow-cursed lands but I never helped him fix the curse, so he stayed behind when the gang went onwards to the city. DU Drow didn't really like him so it was good-riddance as far as he was concerned.
If he had come along and propositioned him during act 3 - uh, you know the really mean rejection line you have as a choice during that dialogue? Yeah, that one lmao.
Alas, DU drow is just monogamous. He could entertain group-sex with a partner for fun at the most, but not ever a third person in the relationship. And In my personal interpretation (but by all means - everyone else have fun with their poly arrangements!) of Astarion and his delivery of the "this is about Halsin" line, I also thought he was lying about being comfortable with it, so I write him as monogamous as well.
Nothing. Nada. Not a thing. Say what you'd like about Bhaal but he sure knows how sculpt them out of his murder-meat.
(Thank you!!!)

Chapter 36 Warnings: Yandere, Possessive, Obsession

The rest of the time spent with Namjoon feels like a dream. Hearing his voice is soothing. His presence alone keeps you calm and collected. For a brief moment you were worried. Did what you two did earlier turn out to be wrong? As in what you two did - was it too fast in a relationship? Could you even call this a relationship? The idea of it all and the labels had you thinking hard but you think it's best to go with the flow. If you did anything more than that it would just ruin your mood and you didn't want to do that. Especially when the object of your desires was here in front of you.
You're so into Namjoon's voice as he reads that you don't realize Hoseok's appearance. He makes you jump when his hands land on your shoulders. When you look up and see that it's him you freeze before directing your eyes over to Namjoon who pauses his reading. He smiles at his brother before he dog ears the page he left off on and closes the book.
"Hey Hoseok."
"Hey." Your captor's response is stilted.
"I'm assuming it's dinner time." Namjoon sets aside the book before standing. "Should we go and head off now?"
The grip on your shoulders grows tighter for a moment before loosening a bit.
"Uh, you go on ahead. I have to talk to Y/N real quick."
You don't like the sound of that.
Your pleading eyes look up at Namjoon begging him to stay but you know there's nothing you can do to actually make him stay. Nothing as the opposite would just make Hoseok suspicious.
Namjoon gives you a long look before nodding with a smile. "I'll see you then."
He makes his way out leaving you with Hoseok and it makes you grimace.
Hoseok pulls out the seat next to you and sits on it but facing you. His hands move to grab your one where he holds it gently within his own.
"Hey," he says. "How are you feeling now?"
You sigh and so suddenly a weight pressures down onto your shoulders.
You don't answer Hoseok. Instead you look down at the table unseeing.
Hoseok lets out a sharp tsk but not out of annoyance. Instead he uses it as a way to begin talking.
"Earlier you really shut down on me. Don't think it didn't worry me because it did." He brings a hand up to pull your hair behind your ear. "It really worried me. I had a hard time working because I kept thinking about you. About what it is I might have done wrong and how I can fix it."
Your eyes still remain unseeing even as he brings your hand up to his lips.
"Baby," he says. "Please talk to me. Help me fix this."
Your nostrils flare as there's a subtle roll to your eyes. "The only way to fix this is to stop everything that you're doing."
Completely ignoring your words Hoseok blinks a few times before speaking. "Is this about last night?"
"Last night," you say. "Everything."
He huffs a little but he doesn't seem to be annoyed. Not entirely at least.
"Hey."
You take the chance to look up at him and see the worried frown that overtakes his face.
"Be honest with me please. Tell me what's on your mind right now."
Licking your lips you look down to his own and see how there's a slight pout to it. It would be endearing to you but after everything it's hard to feel that way.
Your eyes draw up to his own and your lips purse. He clearly looks worried and a part of you feels glad that he does.
Should you be honest with him? You should. You could but the question is will he listen to you? You could try, right?
You give a deep sigh before you turn slightly his way. "You controlled my mind last night."
He doesn't say anything. He just stares so you continue.
"I hate it when you do that."
Hoseok sits up straighter in his seat before slouching a little. His eyes shift all along your face before he looks down at your conjoined hands. He clearly wants to say something but you guess he's taking the time to formulate his answer.
When his lips part he takes in a quick breath before speaking.
"Do you know why I did it though?"
Your brows furrow. "Does it matter?"
He looks up at you. "Of course it does."
It's your turn to frown. "What matters is that you did it and it's not the first time. I hate it when you do it because you take everything from me when you do."
Hoseok clenches his teeth and flexes his jaw. You can see a building argument brewing in his eyes but he seems to be fighting to keep it at bay.
"Every time I did I had good reason to."
"Hoseok," you start. "There is no reason for you to do that to me." Your eyes water but it's out of frustration. "How can you say that and take my free will away? How can you say that with a straight face?"
He looks over towards the side with a sigh. He seems done with the conversation but you don't let up.
"Things would be a lot more different if you had never done it in the first place."
"So what do you want me to say?" He looks back at you clearly irritated. "That I'm sorry? Because I'm not."
You flinch at his words as if he'd punch you in the face.
"If I would have never done it you wouldn't be here with me now."
"Wow," you say. "I would say you're right but knowing you you would have found a way for me to be here either way."
He looks taken aback by your words. Was he not expecting you to bite back? You cried your heart out to him - to Namjoon. Was he expecting you to continue on helplessly? Of course you can cry but right now you needed him to hear you out. Before you find yourself crying again.
"Hoseok. I know you're different. You don't see things the way I do but-"
"Stop. Just stop."
You look at him incredulously. "Why? Why should I? Why can't you just hear me out?"
"Because!" His hold on your hand tightens momentarily and he has to calm himself down before he makes an even bigger show. "Like you said. I don't see things the way you do and with that in mind you'll never understand that everything I do it's to keep you protected and here in my arms. Do you know what would have happened last night if you would have said something about us? How many people that would have been in our business though they shouldn't be? Fucking hell Y/N. I know it's taking you some time to love me but don't be stupid. Don't make rash decisions unless you want to seek punishment over it."
Your mouth open and closes in silent shock. Do you hear yourself right now is what you want to ask but you know he does. He hears himself alright but he doesn't care. Or at least he does and because of that warped and twisted mind of his he thinks he's the one who's right in all of this.
"Seek punishment," you ask. "So what? Do you admit that controlling my mind is punishment? What about the other times you did it?"
"Oh come on, Y/N. Don't put words into my mouth."
"Then what do you mean, Hoseok? What do you mean?"
Hoseok closes his eyes and breathes heavily as he tries to calm himself down. It takes some time and with each aching minute that passes by your heart beat accelerates. You're anxiously waiting and when he's finally calm his eyes open again to look at you.
"Please stop making things difficult. Besides my family you're all I have and you mean the world to me. I wouldn't be here with you if it weren't because I love you. Why is it so hard for you to accept that?"
You face twists into a slight grimace at his words.
Why was it so hard for you to accept that? Other than the fact that it's because you don't love him. Obviously. It makes your blood boil but you feel like you're arguing with the wall because he's insistent on you just giving up and accepting him. You feel like you're in a losing game because no matter what you say, no matter what you do, no matter how you act Hoseok will always be right and you will be wrong. It makes your stomach turn uncomfortably because you're left speechless.
There's not much you can come up with to say now. Why when he's going to make you sound like the biggest asshole. When he will just twist things around so you can see his way even when you don't want to. How has his family lived with him for so long knowing he's like this? How can they just allow it to happen? Up until now it seems like he's never had someone tell him no. If you're not including the one that got away. You wonder how she did it. You're almost tempted to ask but you know that will make you look suspicious. Maybe you'll ask Namjoon. If he knows.
Hoseok's hand comes up to caress your hair before he rests it behind your head. You feel his thumb swipe back and forth until it doesn't anymore and his eyes are deep with emotion. Emotion you wish he wouldn't direct at you.
"Can we stop arguing?" He asks you this and you feel yourself go limp.
Why argue with someone who never loses? Are you going to give up now?
You blink slowly. Your head grows empty. From ways to argue back with him to useless thoughts. You realize that to get back at him and win you'll have to wait and leave. That's the only way you'll win. Is if you manage to escape and keep him off your tail. For now you will be as placid as possible while he gives you all of himself. You will give bits of yourself up but not for him to control.
"Only if you promise not to control my mind again."
Hoseok inhales deeply as he sits back. He works his jaw and he visibly looks irritated. You're expecting him to say no because he looks like he will say it so you cut in before he can.
"If you can promise me that then I promise I'll tone it down with the aggression."
His brow raises in what you assume to be curiosity.
"You will?"
You nod your head.
His hand slowly comes down to rest on your lap where his fingers begin to play with your own.
He seems to be contemplating on his answer as he eyes you. You wonder if he's thinking if he can trust you. Can you trust yourself? No not really but you hope he doesn't feel the same way. For your sake.
His lips pout as he thinks some more before a small smile graces his face.
"I can do that. So long as you keep your promise."
You release a breath you didn't realize you had been holding.
On one hand you're disappointed because that means you will have to actively play nice with Hoseok but at the same time this means he won't take from you your free will. That meant a lot to you and so you nod your head in agreement with him.
"Words Y/N."
"I promise."
You bring up your pinky finger and it makes him smile. Your pinkies loop before your thumbs press into each other. It was childish but you take this as a solid promise between you two.
He brings your hand up to his lips where he kisses it before releasing you.
"Then let's head for dinner, yeah?"
You hum with a nod before you both stand up to leave. His arm wraps around your shoulders where he pulls you close to kiss the side of your head.
"So what were you and Namjoon up to?"
The image from earlier of you two tangled up in each other's arms comes to mind and it makes you smile.
"He was just reading to me. We're almost done the book."
"Yeah? That sounds nice."
Yeah, you think. You'll keep these memories with Namjoon close to you and hope you can make some more along the way.
When you enter the dining room you see almost everyone is there. Everyone excluding Taehyung and Jimin. You're not thrilled to see the latter and you hope he doesn't come by but you know he more than likely will be here to join you all. This is his house as much as it is his brothers'.
Your eyes lock with Namjoon's for a moment and he gives a barely there smile. You catch it and send one back but he looks away before he can see it. The action makes you frown a little but you have to remind yourself that you both are seeing each other in private. People know you meet one another but what ensues during these times everyone is unaware of. You have to keep it together and act nonchalant about it.
When you sit down you look at Yoongi whose lips stretch into a thin line. It's reminiscent of a smile and you don't know why but it makes you laugh.
"What," he asks.
"Nothing."
He frowns.
"Seriously it's nothing. It's just," you pause. "The smile you gave me. It was cute."
His brow raises and at first it seems like you must have said something wrong because he just stares at you but then you notice how his cheeks turn red. Was he embarrassed?
He wipes his nose before looking away. "Don't let Hoseok hear you say that."
You huff a laugh to which he smiles.
"You seem to be in better spirits."
You look across the table to see Seokjin is directing his comment towards you.
"You weren't really all there earlier. I'm assuming things are better now?"
Your eyes shift to Namjoon though it's brief before you look back at Seokjin.
Humming you rest your hands on the table. "Yeah things are a little better now."
His fingers dance across his bottom lip before he smiles. "I see." He brings his hand down to rest on his lap before smiling. "I assume Namjoon had something to do with that?"
Your face falls a little at the implications. He doesn't know about you and Namjoon right?
"I'm just saying." Seokjin interrupts your thoughts. "I assume it was because of Namjoon since I know you two went off to the library after breakfast."
"Oh," you say. Of course he doesn't know about you and Namjoon. Why were you so worried? "No yeah. I had some time to cool off with him so I'm better now."
Hoseok's hand comes up to massage the back of your neck. When you look at him he smiles like a man in love. It makes you feel a little sick but you have to remember you have a part to play. You made a promise and as much as you would love to go back on it - for your own sake - you can't.
Suddenly the door flies open and reveals Taehyung and Jimin who go to take their seats. You try to avoid making eye contact with the latter but it seems like there's no choice in the matter because just the slightest look his way and your eyes meet with his. His eyes grow into slits as he glares at you. His nostrils flare in clear annoyance and your eyes shift in discomfort. You nibble on your bottom lip as the air around you seems to stiffen just the slightest bit at Jimin's entrance and no one is doing anything about it.
"By all means." Jimin says as he takes his seat. "Continue talking. Pretend I'm not here."
Seokjin rolls his eyes.
"How are you today, Jimin?" Yoongi asks.
There isn't an immediate response. It's silent for a moment until Jimin hums questioningly.
"I'm sorry. Are you concerned about my wellbeing? That's a first."
Seokjin rolls his eyes again as he sighs. "Don't start again, Jimin."
The vampire in question scoffs. "Start what?"
"Are you seriously still upset?"
"What do you think, Seokjin?"
The oldest tongues his cheek as he tries to regulate his breathing. Jimin is working him up but he's trying his best not to let him get to him.
You're feeling uncomfortable because you know he can easily direct this at you again and you're hoping he doesn't.
When the air feels like it's about to simmer into something hotter the doors to the kitchen are opened and out comes the food. It silences everyone for a minute as the plates are placed before you. You thank the servant that presented you your food as he works to slip Yoongi his plate as well. You grab your utensils to begin eating but you feel like there are eyes on you. When you look up and around you see Jimin's eyes glaring daggers your way. You look away with a bite to your lip as you sigh.
You're trying not to let him get to you. You want to eat in peace. Reaching out you grab a bit of kimchi from the smaller bowl between you and Hoseok and add it to your rice. When you're about to eat it all together you're interrupted by Jimin.
"So. Y/N."
You slowly bring the food to your mouth and chew.
"What were you up to today?"
He doesn't sound the least bit interested and it makes the food you try to swallow down feel like sludge.
You look at Hoseok and you see he's glaring at his brother but he waits before pouncing.
Looking back at Jimin you shrug your shoulders. "I was at the library."
He gives a wry smile. "With Namjoon I'm sure."
"Jimin." Hoseok warns.
"What?" Jimin asks.
Your heart is in your throat and it makes the next bit of food even harder to swallow.
Don't let him get to you, you think. It's what he wants. So you grab your drink to take a sip and ignore where he's going with the topic of conversation.
"You're heart is beating a mile a minute and all I said was that I'm sure you were with Namjoon. Care to share with the people what's on your mind?"
"Jimin." Hoseok is starting to grow irritated and it shows in the way he says his brother's name.
"You protect her too much. Let her speak for herself."
"I'd say he doesn't protect her enough if you got to do what you did." Jungkook mumbles. His words aren't spoken low enough so you hear his comment and it makes you swallow deeply as you place your utensils down.
"Can we have just one dinner where everyone isn't snapping at each other?" Seokjin sounds exasperated.
"I wasn't snapping. Just stating the obvious." The youngest continues to mumble.
You take the chance to look at Jimin again before taking slow even breaths and with a calmness you didn't even know you had you answer him.
"Yeah I was with Namjoon. Nothing wrong about that is there?"
Jimin runs his tongue slowly over his lips and glares at you. He clearly wants to say something but he settles for a scoff instead.
"Yeah. I guess not."
Hoseok's hand finds your thigh and he squeezes it. When you look at him he gives you a smile before proudly looking his brother's way with a smirk. He seems pleased with you responding back the way you did but if he only knew Jimin was on to something... You try not to think about it.
"Now that that's over with." Namjoon was quiet all this time. Playing aloof before raising his brow. "Is there something else anyone wants to talk about?"
You look around the table and when no one says a word Seokjin lights up like something just hit him.
"You'll never believe what I heard about earlier today."
"Go on." Namjoon encourages.
"Apparently Hyun-Woo is in the hospital."
Your face slowly drops. Hyun-Woo? Not your Hyun-Woo, right?
"Is he now?" Jimin asks in a bored manner.
"Yep." Seokjin directs his sights onto you. "Word is going around that he stopped eating. He doesn't even want to feed off the maids. His brothers tried forcing him but that didn't work. It's apparent that some time after we left the Baek's he refused to eat. Their parents got involved and had him admitted to the hospital for it."
Your eyes don't know what to focus on as your breathing accelerates. "What," you ask. What was going on?
"I know you two were close. I wonder if it has anything to do with you, hm?" Seokjin smiles
You don't hear the way Hoseok clears his throat in irritation. Your mind is just focused on Hyun-Woo. Eyes beginning to water and hands starting to shake. Your appetite is no longer with you after hearing the news.
"Who," you try to speak. "Who told you this?"
"Word gets around. There isn't anyone who doesn't enjoy a good gossip." Seokjin says as he takes another bite of his food.
A good gossip? You would be affronted on Hyun-Woo's behalf but then you remember that this is Seokjin. Why would he actually care? Not even his brothers are safe from him.
Your attention slowly draws over to Hoseok. He looks annoyed by the news and when he feels your eyes he looks at you. His gaze softens at your distressed state before cursing under his breath.
"I'm sure he's fine, Y/N. Don't get worked up over it."
"If he was fine I'm sure he wouldn't be in the hospital."
"God damn it Jungkook. Read the room." Hoseok curses.
The youngest eyes open wide as he pouts. When he notices why Hoseok berated him his pout grows more.
"Just saying," he mumbles.
"Baby. Hey."
You didn't realize your attention drew away from Hoseok until he calls you back.
"Hyun-Woo is fine. Right, Seokjin?"
Seokjin hums questioningly. "Sure yeah. Whatever you say."
You blink a few times to try and stave off the tears that want to be shed.
Hyun-Woo stopped eating? He stopped feeding? Was it really because of you? Because you left? Your heart breaks for him and the need to see him overshadows any other need you have right now. You miss him so much and it breaks your heart that he's suffering.
"Can," you start speaking before you can fully form your thoughts. "Can we see him?"
"No." Hoseok's answer is immediate.
"But-"
"But nothing, Y/N. You should know better."
Your bottom lip trembles. "But I want to see him."
"Just send him flowers and call it a day." You can hear rather than see how Jimin rolls his eyes as he speaks.
"I don't know about that."
You all look at Seokjin.
"If he receives anything with Y/N's name on it he just might lose his mind. Well... more than he already has."
You think Seokjin might be right. Even visiting him might not be a good idea but you need to see him. You want him to know you're okay and that despite it all you do miss him.
Your eyes draw over to Hoseok and it seems like he knows what you're about to say because he gives you a look of disapproval.
"Hoseok please."
"No, Y/N. My word is final."
You grit your teeth as your nostrils flare. Your brows are furrowed in anger and a strong bite is about to come from you but Hoseok interrupts you.
"Remember what you promised."
That you would tone it down with the aggression. Yes, you know but this - Hyun-Woo meant something to you. Why couldn't he see that? Or he does see that and because of who he is he can't allow it. It makes you want to stomp your foot, cry, scream. Do something but you do nothing. You stare into your plate of food unseeing. You feel helpless and wish you could do something for Hyun-Woo. Anything to help get him back on his feet again.
"You could write him a letter."
Your eyes slowly draw up to Namjoon. He sends a concerned look your way and smiles something soft when you lock eyes with him.
"Let him know you're okay. Maybe it'll help."
The response makes Hoseok suck his teeth.
"Come on, Hoseok. It wouldn't kill for her to let the man know she's alright. She's here with you. You won already."
You hate the way he says it but he's right. Hoseok has won. For now. You'll find a way to win yourself. For both you and Namjoon.
Hoseok tongues his cheek before jutting his lips out into a pout as he thinks. He's clearly on the fence about this and one last long look your way makes him begin to fold.
"Fine, but don't give the man any false hopes. Just let him know that you're fine and for him to get it together. No more no less."
A sigh of relief leaves you as does a tear that slips between your lashes. "Okay."
Hoseok raises a hand to wipe your tear away. "Finish eating."
You nod your head and bring the food to your mouth almost instantly.
With Namjoon's help you managed to convince Hoseok to let you write to Hyun-Woo. You can't even begin to think of what you'll say. There's so much you'd like to but know you cannot. He said to let him know that you are okay. You can do that. You'll tell him as well that he has nothing to worry about. Though that's not entirely true you're willing to say anything just so Hyun-Woo can get better again.
It's weird how despite everything you and Hyun-Woo went through you still care deeply about him. Was it weird? You've known him for so long so even through the hardships caused because of Hoseok you still have a soft spot for him. He does mean a lot to you and if things were different you'd still have him in your life, but to settle for the reality of things. He's not in your life anymore and all you can settle for is a letter he may or may not reply back to.
What if he does reply back? What do you do then? You're not sure. You doubt Hoseok will allow for you two to continue writing to each other and now suddenly this makes you think. What happened with Sunmi? She said she would try to write to you but she hasn't? You wonder if it's because she's forgotten about you or if it's because Hyung-Won isn't allowing her. He seems like the type to do that. You wouldn't have guessed that before but then again did you really know your former Masters? No. No you didn't.
Everyone finishes dinner quickly and you're not surprised to see Jungkook still eating away at all that he's given. Yoongi is the first to be done and the first to go followed by Seokjin. Jimin doesn't linger around either and it leaves Jungkook alone with Taehyung as Namjoon accompanies you and Hoseok.
"Are you still busy with work?" Namjoon asks.
Hoseok stops in his tracks and brings you all to a halt in the hallway.
"Kind of? I just need to finish tying a few ends."
"Well if that's the case I can take Y/N again. Maybe help her with that letter."
You look up at him in surprise. "You will?"
He shrugs his shoulders. "Why not?"
Your captor grunts in mild irritation. "I'd rather read it before sending it out."
You frown because of course he'll look over it. He needs control over you no matter what.
"That's fine." Namjoon says before looking at you. "We'll head to my study so we can start on something."
You give him a grateful look before Hoseok tears your attention away from his brother to kiss your forehead.
"I'll see you later, yeah?"
"Yeah." You nod your head.
He has no problem departing from you now. After the two of you "made up" he's a lot calmer. He's not as anxious. He may be annoyed with the Hyun-Woo business but at least he's not taking it out on you.
Namjoon places a hand on your lower back. "Come on. Let's get this done."
You follow along close to his side as he leads you to his study. It's not a far walk and you have to admit that you're a bit excited. Not just because you get to spend more time with him but because you get to visit a place close to him. You haven't been to his bedroom or study and wonder what they must be like. You have an answer as soon as you get there and are hit with a sweet aroma when he opens the door. You note immediately he has a diffuser on his desk. The sticks stick out of the bottle and release a pleasant smell as you look around.
Almost all his furniture is made out of wood. His desk, stands, and coffee table. It gives a home-like feel to everything but also an expensive one. Like you're walking around a museum. He even has paintings hanging on his walls and miniscule sculptures that you know must cost a fortune. And just like Hoseok he has a welcoming couch fitted across the room.
"Welcome to my study."
Your search around you comes to a pause as you look at Namjoon.
"It's not much but it's one of my safe havens."
You smile. "I like it. It's so much like you."
Something akin to a blush dusts his cheeks as he looks around.
You weren't saying it just to say it. It very much feels like him. You can feel everything that makes Namjoon him in this room. It's welcoming to you.
Before either of you can say something he extends his hand to the desk chair.
"Go ahead and sit. Let's get this letter going."
Smiling you take your seat and rest your elbows onto the desk.
You see that he has two monitors along with his computer set up onto the desk next to them. He pushes his keyboard and mouse slightly off to the side before procuring a paper and pen that he pulls out from one of his drawers.
"Do you have an idea on what to write?"
You bite your bottom lip as you try to think.
Yes and no. You try and rattle your brain for a few thoughts but you're left empty. Unsure of what to say. Unsure about what Hoseok would allow you to say.
You shrug your shoulders. "Kind of?"
"Run it by me."
Inhaling deeply you look up at him. "I just know I want to let him know things are okay and that I miss him."
Namjoon cringes. "I don't think Hoseok will like that last part."
You pout but you know he's right. You have to be very careful otherwise Hoseok will toss this letter into the trash.
"Well tell me about your relationship with him."
Your brows raise in question.
"I don't think you've ever told me," he says as he leans against the desk.
You look back down at the blank paper and sigh. "We were close once. He used to let me get away with a lot of things."
"Like?"
You shrug. "I could talk back to him if I wanted." You huff a laugh. "He preferred it. Said he wanted to be able to have a real conversation for once with someone he cared about."
"Did you care for him?"
You nod. "Even though I started as just a maid he'd feed from he wanted to have an actual relationship with me. More than just a friendship really but he respected my boundaries. Well, for the most part really."
Namjoom comes over to lean back onto his desk right next to you. "What do you mean by that?"
"What I mean is that things were okay for the most part until Hoseok came and ruined everything. Hyun-Woo started to grow terribly jealous. I mean he's always been a pretty jealous guy. He hated it if I smelled like anyone else. Especially if it were another male's scent. He said it's because when it's time to feed it turned him off but I know it was for something more. But when Hoseok came he changed completely. His frenzy was being triggered almost every night and his jealousy made him do stupid things."
Small pause.
"Did you ever help Hyun-Woo with his frenzy?"
You shake your head no vehemently. "No never. Even though he really wanted me to."
You think back to that night where he nearly lost control and bit you hard. You swear you can feel the phantom pain of the bite mark on your arm. It stayed scarred and you look down at it to see the way it seems to mock you.
"He did this?" Namjoon gently grabs your arm and runs his thumb over the scar.
You hum. "Yeah."
Namjoon sighs deeply before letting you go. "To be honest," he says. "It doesn't really sound like he was all that good to you."
You wince but he's right. You had your soft moments with Hyun-Woo but he treated you more like his property than anything else. The only difference to Hoseok is that he drew away from you when you wanted him to. Well, for the most part. At least before Hoseok made himself apparent.
"Sorry, Y/N. I-"
"No you're right. He wasn't all that good to me but I still cared for him. I saw a friend in him and it's why knowing what I know now about him breaks my heart."
Namjoon hums before drawing quiet.
The silence feels loud in your ears after talking so much. You don't know how it makes you feel other than being forlorn and a bit confused. You briefly wonder if the feelings you have for your former Master can be justified. After saying everything out loud to Namjoon it feels a little weird to say you actually care for Hyun-Woo. After everything you've been through with him? Yeah. After everything.
You breathe in deeply before releasing it into a long sigh. "Even though he probably doesn't deserve to hear from me I still want to write to him. Help give him some peace of mind so he can go back to living his life as he should."
You can feel Namjoon's eyes on you and when you look up to him his expression is unreadable. You wish you could know what he's thinking but it's not like you have the ability to do so so you just stare.
His eyes jump across your face until he nods and gives a barely there smile. "Then let's get to writing this letter."
You pass him a grateful smile before you look down at the paper and begin to write.
There's not a lot you can say. You know this so you're careful as you write.
Dear Hyun-Woo,
I hope this letter finds you. If you don't know it's me. Y/N. It's been a while since we've talked. It's been a while for a lot of things. I heard that you've been unwell and I'm so sorry about that. I think I know why you're sick but I won't mention it. I'm sure it's something you don't want to talk about.
I'm writing to you to let you know I'm okay. I'm not in danger or anything so there's no need to worry. I know writing to you isn't the same as actually hearing my voice but you have to trust me. You can trust me, right? I hope you can.
There's so much I wish I could tell you but now is not the time. Maybe another time? If you want to write back to me that is. After everything that has happened if you don't want to talk I understand. Just promise me one thing. Please get better. If not for yourself then for me. You have so many wonderful years ahead of you. You have a wonderful life to live. Don't let anyone, not even yourself, get in the way of that.
I hope this letter can bring you a bit of peace so you can heal. I'll be rooting for you Hyun-Woo.
Sincerely,
Y/N
It's not a long letter but you feel like you put a lot of your heart into it without revealing too much. Without telling him you miss him or anything that will get Hoseok on his bad side.
"You done?" Namjoon asks.
"Yeah."
"Let me see."
You pass him the letter and watch as he reads it. You bite your bottom lip nervously as you worry the pen in your hand. There are no expressions on Namjoon's face as he reads the letter and so your heart beat begins to beat erratically. Your eyes shift from left to right in nerves but before you can panic anymore Namjoon brings a hand down to rest over your own where he squeezes lightly to comfort you. Your breathing pattern and heart beat begins to regulate at the gesture as you welcome Namjoon's touch.
He nods softly before extending the letter back to you.
"This is good. Hoseok should have no problem with it."
You heave a sigh of relief. "I was worried it would be too much."
"No." He shakes his head. "You didn't reveal much so there's no problem. If he were to have a problem with anything it'll probably be the part where you wrote for him to get better for your sake but it's not bad. He'll get over it I'm sure."
You hope so. You don't know what else to write to help fill that area if Hoseok does have a problem with it but you'll trust in Namjoon's word. You'll trust him as you always do.
"Come here."
Your brows raise as you hum questioningly.
He extends his hand out for you to take and when you do he pulls you up and into his arms where you rest the side of your head on the middle of his chest. You can hear the dull sound of his heart beat and it forces you to close your eyes.
"Things will get better I'm sure," he says. "It's going to take time but it'll get better."
You don't know if he means that because of Hyun-Woo or for things in general. Either way you hum in agreement and wrap your arms around his waist.
He keeps you cocooned in his arms and places a gentle kiss onto the top of your head. You feel safe like this. Like you're out of harm's way. You take the chance to close your eyes and bask in everything that is Namjoon.
He made you realize that Hyun-Woo wasn't all that good of a person to you. You still care for him but you wonder what type of person that makes you. A good one? A delusional one? Namjoon doesn't seem to judge you for it so you guess it's not all that bad.
You hope the letter makes it through Hoseok when he goes to scrutinize it so you can send it as soon as possible. The sooner it gets to Hyun-Woo the sooner you hope he'd get better.

✿ did anything major change when you started writing [fic] to when you finished?
Link to the ask meme!
Alrighty so for reference, the first fic I am certain I wrote was one I started in 2014, which means I've been writing fic for 10+ years now. Which is uh. Wow. That's a long time!
Since then my writing style has changed a lot. For starters, I haven't written anything in first person in years. That old fic, named Genesis TT (for Time Travel), was in first person, and I think over the next year or two I wrote a few more first person fics, but I haven't at any time in the 2020s and probably haven't for a bit before then so that's one major change.
A more recent change is swapping from past tense to present tense, though that's something I'm flip flopping a bit on. I read a few good fics (and maybe a real book or two?) in present tense, enjoyed it, tried it out myself, and have been having fun with it since. Still, some of my current WIPs were started in past tense, so I've kept them like that just so I don't have to swap every word. Although...looking at Genesis TT again, that fic is in present tense! Wow. I wonder when I swapped to past tense then, since everything else I can remember is in past tense, hmmm.
Another big change is writing method. I started out on the family computer using Microsoft Word when I had the time to myself, before moving using Google Docs on my phone, which I used from probably 2015 to 2017 or 2018 when I got a laptop. I think I still ended up using my phone a lot until college, where I transitioned to mostly laptop writing, and at this point the vast majority of my fic writing is done either on my laptop or my PC. Part of that is because two of my current main WIPs are over 100k words and I can't really add anything to them without the app on my phone crashing. I still use Google Docs to write, though I've thought about switching from time to time. It works well enough for my purposes though, so I'll probably stick with it for a while longer. I like being able to work on fics on my phone, even if I can't work on the long ones, for times when my laptop is charging, I have a sudden idea, or I'm out and about and bored enough to want to write.
As for content, beyond changing fandoms I think I've also drifted further towards angst over the years. My love for character studies has held strong even if I didn't know what they were called back in the day, but more and more of them look at what it's like to put a character in a bad/unfortunate/angsty situation because I find it fascinating to push a character toward their limit. It's fun trying to get into their headspace. Maybe it says something that I keep going toward the dark ones but uh, I'm going to chalk it up to my love for drama and how angst lends itself to that.
Finally, the biggest change in my writing is EDITING. I did not edit back in the day. Sometimes I would post chapters without even *proofreading*!!! Over time I've started doing a much more thorough pass-over, as well as additional drafts. Recently I've also held off on posting several multi-chapter things until I've gotten most of the way through the story, so that I can go back to change things as I make decisions later on that will help with consistency. It makes writing take a lot longer, but I'm generally satisfied with the results.
Thank you for the question! If anyone else wants to participate, click on the link at the top of the post. I'm happy to answer questions about my writing in general, or specific fics, whatever you're interested in :)

Bahahaha no this is trash omfg
Uh have fun ig? Yuck imagine posting something like this
Uh oh
CW : ooc moments. Like. A L O T.
Like always, this idea doesn't belong to me but uncle cinnamon (literally this entire book belong to him, I just put it on wattpad lmao) and I was the one who wrote it.
I've also changed something : it doesn't happen during the meeting but when the ancients talk with each other at night and this time Clotted cream pass by, hearing all the conversation (who is a little bit changed because angst)
Edit : this dated from July 2022 so there is probably of 89 % of it that wouldn't make sense at all. Sorry for that-
Enjoy!

___________________________________________
It was the last meeting in the vanilla Kingdom and everyone was... how do I say it... nervous, stressed but intrigued at the same time.
Mostly Clotted Cream Cookie. But he wasn't intrigued. He just felt nervous.
Not only, he did felt awfully bad for what he had done during the last meeting but he was also scared that his dried speech would affect the ancient's decisions, mostly Pure Vanilla. He didn't wanted to say it that loud but the healer was (for now) the only ancient he was very close of. He was the only one who seemed to be kind with him and he really wanted to, maybe Hollyberry too but she wasn't that much close to him as Pure vanilla. Also maybe because he was the mighty king of the ancient vanilla Kingdom.
And now he felt ever more guilty because he probably broke their friendship. He still could hear the horrid argument with queen Hollyberry, king Dark cacao and Pure vanilla. The pure hurt and anger that was on their eyes while the healer couldn't even add something, because he couldn't deny everything they have said. White lily was dark enchantress and they have heard this information for a COMPLETE stranger.
From... Him.
Clotted cream couldn't even think about what would happen because of his imprudent mistake. Eh, what an irony. Him, the cookie of house custard who could plan ahead for any outcome, was now fearing the consequences of something that he couldn't predict anymore.
"no wonder why father doesn't like me. I'm disorganized and get easily distracted for nothing."
Clotted cream sighed as he let his head fall. He couldn't let go. He couldn't give up. It was not for his sake. No, he wasn't that kind of cookie. It was for the Republic, for all of the cookies, for all earthbread. It was the only hope and he was losing it, just because of ruthless words he had spoken without even knowing how was the relationship between the ancients. And judging how King dark cacao nearly killed him, they were very close, and he didn't acknowledge that.
Clotted cream only felt more useless, pathetic, horrible and other awful things in existence. Yet, he couldn't give up. He HAD to continue. He had to prove himself. To everyone. To the crème Republic. To the elders. To his... Father.
The young consul couldn't even imagine how disappointed Elder Custard would be towards him. The pure disgust on his face and his harsh words. No he couldn't afford that.
He needed air.
Yeah. Some of the fresh air of the night would probably calm him down. After all, even if in the morning it would be the final decision, Clotted cream couldn't sleep when he was anxious and stressed and he didn't wanted to like some sort of dead corpse at the council due of his lack of sleep.
The young counsul got up from his desk and quietly went to the exit, making sure to not wake anyone, especially Financier cookie. She had done so much for him even though in the first place, he didn't wanted a paladin to protect him since he could do it himself and yet, she kept overworking herself to make sure he was okay.
Another thing the consul was guilty about.
He let the paladin sleep and made his way to his favorite place of all the vanilla Kingdom. The garden.
It was peaceful and beautiful enough for him to be alone with his thoughts and actually put his head back together. The view toward the flowers was very charming and air was confortable enough.
Just the thought of it made him smile.
Little thing he didn't know is that he wouldn't be alone.
Clotted cream barely entered completely in the garden as he heard voices who weren't from afar. Panicking, he hid himself behind some bushes and looked at the place to find where voices were. To his grand surprise, it were the voices of the ancients, sitting on a round table and even more surprising they were still wearing their attire from this morning except their didn't wore their crown and less, they didn't had their weapons with them. The three of them were sitting on a round table, focusing a lot on their conversation that they didn't seemed to hear the young consul who hid himself in the garden.
Clotted cream cookie looked at the three heroes as his jaw slightly opened, as he grew more and more nervous.
"If they're hiding from the other, at night instead of sleeping, then it's probably something very important...." He tried to theorize, as more doubts grew in his mind. What if they are talking about him? About his behavior during the council, did they wanted him to go? Or worse, what if his irrational action caused a drastic change when it came to their initial opinion, mostly Pure vanilla cookie, who seemed to be the only one who was on his side.
No.
"Calm down clotted cream. "He thought." You're overthinking again. Maybe they're talking about something else. No need to... Panic. "the young consul tried to reassure himself, rubbing his temple. That was one of the thing he didn't liked with him, aside the constant loss of concentration everytime there was a serious situation where he needed to concentrate as well with his impulsives actions.
But it seems his stressful thoughts were unfortunately true.
"I'm sorry Pure vanilla cookie but we can't bring ourselves to just hand our soul jams to this unknown cookie who pretend to be a descendant." Clotted cream heard the king dark cacao said and peeked out his head so suddenly at this statement.
The cacaonian looked at the healer with a frown but at the same time with a look of "I'm sorry but this is my choice" as Pure vanilla cookie looked at him with surprise.
"W-what?" he stammered, glancing back and forth at his friends, his eyes widening. Why? Didn't they seemed to agree with him not a few minutes ago? How did Dark cacao suddenly changed his opinion? Pure vanilla was about to say something until Hollyberry cookie, in her turn, interrupted him, with a little bit of guilt.
"I'm sorry Pure vanilla but... Dark cacao is right. Even if this "Consul" seems to be very genius with keeping his promises despite his... Irrational act, we can't just bring ourselves to lend our soul jam to an ordinary cookie! Look what White lily has become because of it! If even our friends couldn't control its power, how an average cookie would handle such a heavy responsibility?? " she argued as the healer was just taken back, a little shocked by those words.
They... They were right.
Despite her soul jam not being involved with her transformation, White lily was an ancient who had a powerful artifact and she went more instable than a normal cookie, her has just made her transformation worse and more instable than it was already.
But what about the crème Republic? What about this remaining of the vanilla Kingdom? Wouldn't they never be able to meet them? Or even help them a second time? They were already lucky to not be slaughtered by Dark enchantress cookie's monsters and creatures, but this time she would surely come back, more powerful and worse than last time! He couldn't do the same mistake twice!
"Pure vanilla?" Dark cacao asked as the healer cookie perked up.
"O-oh sorry..." He stammered before regaining his senses as Hollyberry stared at her friend with worry but eventually started to frown a little as well.
"But... Why not?" he asked while looking at Dark cacao cookie who just decided to sigh.
"Pure vanilla cookie.. We can't bring ourselves to give the Soul Jam. The risk is too high and this..." consul " cannot be trusted even if he comes from the remaining of the vanilla Kingdom."
The hollyberrian queen seems to notice how her healer friend was upset about this response and decided to told him
" Pure vanilla... If it upset you that much, we can propose another solution tomorrow? "she tried to ease, because she saw the two men became more tense than usual.
Pure vanilla and Dark cacao cookie both perked up to look at the queen. A small confused expression on their faces.
"Tomorrow?" the cacaonian king asked, raising an eyebrow. "Hollyberry cookie, are you sure this is a good idea to report the decision? After all, we've already have decided that it's not sure to give our soul jam to a stranger and.."
"Maybe Hollyberry is right" Pure vanilla interrupted, holding his staff a little bit more tightly as the cacaonian king looked at him with surprise and so did the other ancien heroe.
"You sure? We don't have much time and-" the king stopped talking when his friend raised his hand to talk as he opened his heteromantic eyes.
"I think it's more wise to think about it and not directly jumping into hâtives conclusions.. And still, we aren't even talking about it with the concerned one, Clotted cream cookie. Probably it is more wise to talk about this... Quite difficult choice." the healer suggested, calming himself a little bit down while Hollyberry cookie sighed in relief as Dark cacao resigned, sighing as well.
"I guess you're right pure vanilla cookie.. It's probably wiser to discuss about it in the morning, we will be in better conditions and we can't be the only one that need to talk about it." he admitted as he got up and so did the two other heroes.
"Then it's settled, we should discuss that matter in the morning. For now, maybe we should rest and sleep, I don't want any of you to be tired in the meeting" pure vanilla tried to joke a little to hide his awkwardness towards the situation that he had been put in.
The hollyberrian queen directly agreed following Dakr cacao with a little bit of hesitation and eventually gave up as the three stood up.
"I admitted that you are right.." the king said once again as he took his crown and sword and glanced at his friends one more time. "we should probably rest for now."
Pure vanilla and Hollyberry both agreed and was about to go away until the three heard a suspicious sound towards the bushes as the group of friends positioned themselves, ready to attack until Pure vanilla saw a fancy ribbon that he directly recognized.
[...]
During all of the conversation the ancients had between each other, Clotted cream's heart bet faster and faster, being more and more stressed at each words King Dark cacao cookie and Queen Hollyberry Cookie have said. His breathing was faster than usual as he gripped a branch a little too tightly that his hand started to have a small wound and blood on it but it wasn't his main concern.
It was the response to his proposal during the consul that made his heart skip a beat.
Did pure vanilla actually agree with them???
No no no, it was impossible, right??? The healer had agreed with him, he seemed okay with the proposal and didn't object with his idea of cooperating with the crème Republic and he actually tried to defend the young cookie!
But he seemed to be iffy when he have done that?? Or he just tried to hold himself with a little bit possibility of seeing once again the kingdom he failed to protect? Was it actually his real motivation?? Then another horrible thought striked in his mind.
What if the healer only
Too many thoughts were inside Clotted cream's head, making him feel a migraine in additional of his lack of sleep. He stopped holding at the plant but instead grip his arm alongside with his shirt who was already dirty because of the mud in the bushes, trying to calm himself down but it just got worse.
His breathing was nearly blocking, suffocating his lungs. His eyes were widely opened, staring into nothing as tears were threatened to fall. It was all foggy and wuzzy around him as if he was in a fever dream. His head was spinning aggressively and eyes burned so much. But he still didn't move an inch, even if his body acted so strange, Clotted cream still looked at the ground as his legs gave up and nearly collapsed on the floor, his ribbon shivering uncontrollably.
It wasn't long before the ancients noticed him and rushed towards the young consul.
To be honest, Clotted cream didn't even flinch or react when he heard the voices of the three coming towards him and less when Pure vanilla tried to shook him from his trance, as if he wanted to completely shut off the world.
"Quick! What should we do???" Hollyberry asked, worried and unsure about the situation as the younger cookie didn't seemed to stop soon.
"I-I'll try to comfort him! .." Pure vanilla spoke over, trying to ease and calm down Clotted cream cookie. "Maybe you two should go, probably it's for the best from him to not feel crowded.." the healer suggested.
During all the small commotion, Dark cacao didn't talk or even opened his mouth. The king just looked the consul with a complex expression on his face. Did the lad spy on them? Or it wasn't intended but just pure coincidence that at the moment they've talked, he was here? To be honest, he didn't really wanted to ask, maybe it was for the better that Pure vanilla take care of Clotted cream than him.
He sighed and called Hollyberry to say that it was probably for the best to leave them alone. The queen was about to protest until she judged it was wiser and went away with her friends to their respective chambers while the third ancient heroe stroked the young consul and tried to ease him, like a parent comforting their child.
Soon, after some seconds that felt like an eternity, Clotted wasn't tensed anymore and breathed in and out normally but was probably extremely tired. Pure vanilla still worryingly looked at him, trying to see if there was any wounds that he created without noticing.
The healer sighed in relief. There were no severe wounds, only some marks but it wasn't bleeding so it was okay.
"Maybe I should lead him to his bedroom.." Pure vanilla cookie though and tried to find a solution to take him there until he heard someone running and heavy breathing that came closer along side with the sound of a sword clenching inside the scabbard.
[...]
Financier sighed as she put the plate of food with a cup of tea on the table, near clotted cream's bed where the consul still slept peacefully. She was glad, he didn't seemed on the edge now but still, the paladin knew that she needed to take care of him.
This never happened before.
Okay, maybe it happened before but it was never that severe. Financier knew that sometimes, when he was stressed or extremely scared, he would dig his nails into his whole arm and wouldn't stop until it started to bleed and that left marks from his shoulders to his arms. Sometimes, he completely shut off like having a lost look or not even breathing normally. When he did that, she was always there to calm him down but when she woke up in the middle of the night to drink water, she realized that he was gone and directly took her sword just in case as she hurried outside, fear rising.
It wasn't that surprising that she found her friend in the garden but it wasn't normal that Pure vanilla would held and reassure Clotted cream cookie and talk him softly like a child.
The healer agreed that he needed rest and so she took him and carried the consul to his bedroom and laid him on the bed as Pure vanilla prepared at least something to eat for him.
And all of it happened during midnight and 2am.
After seeing that everything was fine for now, she nearly threw herself on her bed and let out a heavy breath she didn't knew she held and closed her eyes. During those last days, everything was happening so fast and all at once, she didn't knew what caused Clotted cream to act this way this time but she would probably try to find out tomorrow (or after a few hours? She didn't knew anymore) because it wasn't very wise to ask him.
Let's just hope that in the morning, everything would be at ease.

I got excited when I saw that you had posted about this tbh I SAW IT OMG???? the adds had me horrified omg like, the "You know full well a vow of celibacy is not the answer" like the 'you know full well' honestly got me a bit angry? cuz who even are you to say that?? there was another that said "thou shalt not give up on dating and become a nun" the disrespect???? and fr? from Bumble. An app that is self-proclaimed as being a "woman's app" cuz it has a certain empowerment to it (tbh i have beef with bumble and have had it for a while now)
Bro I watched it cuz I love Mark Ruffalo and I regret it. Even tho I think it was amazingly made in terms of design, the art direction was amazing, I can't like it cuz the main character was brought back with the brain of a child and then they categorized her new curiosity and her adventure as being "erotic". Tbh movie made me sick sometimes. I actually had to leave the theatre mid-movie cuz some parts just had me so shocked I couldn't watch them. The idea of lust in this was also so uncomfortable?? cuz she wasn't lusting for knowledge of these new things that she didn't know (cuz again, brain of a child) but she had a lot of sexual lust too, and therefore she had a lot of sex. And cuz there was so many sex scenes relating to her "liberation" and how she was becoming more mature and finding herself it seems like the people making this film really just think of sexualized feminism. And maybe this is cuz I love children and a younger cousin (a 10 yr old but still just a little kid in my eyes) but the way they kept reminding the audience that she had an immature brain, that she was essentially like a kid and then proceed to sexualize her was awful (me having a good relationship and loving kids should not be the only motive for being repulsed by the ideology of this movie tho, it should be common sense idk) And i know, that the brain was not accompanying the body cuz the body was of an adult, still, I don't think it's an excuse for using it as a way of saying that she's a character is an empowered woman because of her sexuality. The comments I saw after the movie also had me questioning the media literacy of some people cuz they were all "omg this is like the barbie movie but for adults" UH???? and "omg, this was such a good movie, feminism being in so many movies right now is so good" why do people only find women having sexual freedom as being feminist, and by sexual freedom (ex: this movie) is just the mc having a lot of sex. Like yes, it's good that they portray sexual freedom in movies, but the way that it's being portrayed in some of them is not a stamp for feminism imo. There were responses to people who didn't like the movie saying "it's supposed to be a commedy". It wasn't a funny movie bro???
Idk if you saw the "I have no mouth and I must scream" popularisation on tiktok but it being popularized right when this bear vs men is still in discourse had me logging out of tiktok. There's this character (ellen) that is imprisioned but AM that is AI. She goes through so much, like she has to literally use her body in so many ways to "calm" the others (who are men) AND PEOPLE ARE CALLING HER SO MANY DEGRADING THINGS LIKE- people are saying she's the one who has it easy when she's the one that has to at one point sell her body for the sanity of the others. Obviously this discourse against her is done by men and people who only see the edits and go all "oh there is only one woman in this entire story? lets villanize her even though she's one of the biggest victims out of all the characters!". In the video game i think you can choose who gets the happy ending or smt and I saw people saying that they were not gonna give it to ellen cuz she wasn't worth it because of how she used her body. This is one of the many reasons I hate popularization of certain books, movies or smt on tiktok, it always ends up like this
I'm sorry this is so long😭😭
omg no its fine i love to rant sorry it took me so long to reply and RIGHTTTTTT EXACTLY LIKE EVERY SINGLE THING UVE SAID IS LITERALLY WHAT I THINK ASW and omg ur so real for leaving halfway thru poor things AND YEAH NO LIKE U DONT HAVE TO HAVE A GOOD RELATIONSHIP W KIDS TO KNOW ITS WRONG TO WANT TO HAVE SEX W THEM??????? like one of the main problems i have w the film is the fact that she IS a child and the way that bcs she is one, men fawn over her bcs she’s basically stupid and easily impressionable and easy to ‘own’ and dominate which is disgusting bcs that means that ltr most mens ideal types is children?? and okay like sexual liberation and all but ur still talkijg about a CHILD rn a CHILD that is being sexually liberated like even the dad when the husband was asking like r u raising her to be ur sex slave and he was like i cant have sex (LIKE HE DIDNT SAY NO??? HE WOULD FUCK HER IF HE COULD??) ugh i hate this film sm
no i havent seen that but omg?!?!? I FUCKING HATE THAT ARGUMENT like when men call sex workers whores or wtv bcs excuse you?? its actually YOUR demographic that created that industry and YOUR demographic that keeps it alive and keeps fueling money into it. like yes it is some women’s choice to go into sex work but a lot of women also go into sex work just bcs u can make a decent amount of money if u cant find any other work and u need to support people at home or idk theres lots of scenarios where people are essentially forced into sex work and men think its a choice?? recognise ur privelege do u know how many more opportunities, whether its gaining citizenship, getting promoted at work, gender pay gap (WHICH STILL EXISTS ive heard men say it doesnt but thats naiive) how much easier it is to function as a society member if ur a man? if ur gonna shit on the sex industry go shit on the men who are raping women everyday but ‘its not rape bcs we paid them and thats their job’ pls (again nuance some women choose this and more power to them theyre taking advantage of the patriarchy) but others are doing it bcs they HAVE to they wouldnt fuck u if they just saw u on the street get over urself

Yamato for the headcanon meme?
Alright okay hmmm
1) realistic.
I know i really love the idea that Yamato gardens and takes care of plants, but i don't think he actually does. When we see him using mokuton it's always very structured, which makes sense since he studies architecture! But i think for a long while he actually ends up sort of distancing himself from the more "natural" uses of mokuton as a way of separating himself from Hashirama. (Not completely of course, we see him use deep forest emergence after all)
If he takes up gardening I think it's after retirement. When he is relaxed and able to feel completely free from being used as a weapon 😌 as much as that is possible for any shinobi.
2) hilarious.
This isn't funny but yaknow. I've seen a lot of people write Yam as a lightweight when it comes to drinking, but with the healing factor of mokuton i think he'd actually be able to out drink anyone. Like if yam wants to be drunk he has to work at it.
Which means in that omake with Asuma, how much did yam put away while poor asuma sat there watching askdjdkdl (i dont do this anymore but my idea of it is like when, at a party, i sat down at the bar and lined up more shots than i want to admit to and drank them all one after another 🤦 yam does that but bc of his weird healing abilities it's like if a regular person just drank a beer or two in somewhat quick succession)
4) unrealistic.
I am his trophy husband (joking). Uh idk I'm just vibing with the yam loves older pop music headcanon tbh.
Honestly with the drinking and the pop music Yamato's vibes in any bar setting is just profoundly weird and wonderful. You watch some random ninja guy drink more than anyone should physically be able to and sure he gets drunk but he isn't like dead from it and then he gets up to sing material girl by fucking Madonna. I love him.
3) sad.
Okay listen i have like the worst headcanon that I haven't said at all to anyone bc it's honestly distressing so these are outta order so i can put this under a read more. Brief CSA mention (more as an analogy) under the readmore. Read at ur own discretion. (Long and the short of it: the curse mark is like hella traumatizing)
SO I've thought a lot about that fucking curse mark on all the root agents. Bc it like haunts me. Danzo puts it on CHILDREN!
So like a lot of the seals and curse marks we see being made usually require: direct contact, blood, and occasionally like a ritual sort of setting.
Ugh okay so okay baby not yet tenzō whose only experiences up til that point have been surviving torture and experimentation and being 'rescued' by Danzo who only wants him to become an emotionless weapon for the nation state.
Danzo tells tenzō that he should be grateful for merely being alive. Convinces tenzō he cannot ask anything more. You have that dynamic going into what is most likely a ritual setting (maybe) with a grown man putting his blood covered fingers down this kid's throat specifically to keep tenzō (and any of the root kids) silent about Danzo. Anything that danzo does or orders is forcibly kept secret.
Danzo wants absolute power and control of the root agents. Like that has to be deeply and profoundly traumatizing. Even if tenzō didn't understand it then i have no doubt that that shit pops up later in life as flashbacks and intrusive memories. I think it affects him in a very similar way to how CSA affects people.
Like yam has probably been to a dentist once and never again. And I'm done now. Is this sad and awful enough?
(Edit to add: what i think is really getting to me about the curse mark is that it isnt to keep state secrets safe. No, it is specifically to prevent root members from talking about Danzo. Danzo isn't protecting konoha he's protecting himself. So no one can expose his abuses and crimes. So he doesn't have to face an consequences. AAAHHHHHHHH D:< i hate that man)

Hi dear! I've seen you didn't talk much about Sadistic Beauty these days... What are your thoughts on ending and two side stories? Especially Wookying and Minho's one? Tbh I'm disappointed and disturbed :(
i had to step out of this story bc it was leaving me frustrated, irritated and disappointed not to mention very confused LOL. yep, im still fairly disappointed with where the author went with this. a major conflict that should or could have been in the main story was the whole drama including wookyung fighting with doona to get minho but it was swept under the rug only to return as some after thought as a side story (probably excluding doona). there was such a great opportunity to finish it in the main story but the author decided that minho had to suffer all of the consequences and everyone else is going scot-free LOL. truly a shame. i wasnt surprised that doona was ending up with haesol, never was into them, still not into them. i have a certain distaste for characters like haesol, he’d be best described as a simp. and i absolutely loathe simps lol. there’s a fine line with being there for someone and being there in hopes that smth more might change, he def wants to date doona and saying that he’s okay with how things are and if they don’t date, is basically a blatant lie to himself. if that was the case, he wouldn’t let her string him along and use him for sex. the feelings he has for her will just be kept in the back, but it will most likely resurface in some way or another. in the long run, it’d hurt him and that’s just not worth the hassle. obv since the writer wanted them to happen, he’s prob gonna get what he wants lol. i def found the whole rivalry btw donna and wookyung in order to get to minho way more fascinating, and wished it was explored more. now, the only thing im happy with is gyerin is probably getting her happy ending with the new girl. she’s also the only one who went “fuck this” once she saw doona wasn’t going to reciprocate her feelings, and im rlly glad she did that. at first, i didnt think much of her, but now, seeing how the story went (lmao), im all for gyerin being happy. and as for wookyung and minho, im interested in how their story will unfold. but i feel so so bad for minho, he was a jerk and an asshole i wont deny that, but he didnt deserve all of the hate and harm he got and still is receiving according to the side story preview. wookyung is still a great and fascinating character, i do like characters like him, but how he was used was just not satisfying. and it seems like there might be a case of stockholm syndrome coming up where he might fall for wookyung. i just wish doona had smth to do with it before she parted ways or she could have helped minho, but yeah. *shrugs* this story left me confused as to what the author is doing, there is wasted potential and opportunities at every corner. the plot goes one way then goes another to end on a weird note. i also think the whole gl, bl stuff was more of a fanservice thing and that’s probably why it’s more of a disjointed story? as in, i feel like the gl and bl stuff should either have been more of a focus and woven into the story or it should have been entirely separate so the author wouldn’t have to shove many things at once and just focus on one or two pairing. one thing i might add for the story is that it felt as if it was trying to make us surprised, but the so called “twists” that happened just made it more confusing and those probably shouldn’t have been there as they don’t add much to the story narrative. back to gyerin, you can see that gyerin and the new girl can have their own separate story from the start (she didn’t have much to do with the primary conflict and could easily have a flashback to doona instead of the whole fanservice lol). the same goes for wookyung and minho as well, and it’d have been perfectly fine. at the end you basically see three pairings, the m/f, the f/f and the m/m. however, we dont even know if minho is into men? so i’m not sure how’s that gonna be considered BL? then again, every pairing could have been in the main story, but it’s not? for some reason??? it feels as if the author wanted their pairings without putting in the effort of making it into the main story, hence the side stories or they just wanted to make it separated without putting too many characters in it. obviously, for wookyung and minho, there’s no way doona wouldn’t have done smth if it was fully explored in the main story, and it might have changed the ending too. there’s multiple ways the story could have gone, but this one was the only conflict that was much more interesting imo, but it wasnt used that much.
gyerin didn’t really have much to do there other than be lesbian fanservice for doona (and the audience, writer and maybe the artist too?), and to be some kind of support for haesol. that’s about it, so i can understand why she’d not have a full blown romance in the main story, but seeing that she keeps reappearing, she still could have her side story integrated into it. lmao i don’t even kno if doona is bi/pan lol or if she just had sex bc she was drunk then did it just for pleasure without being interested in women at all.
EDIT: iirc doona did get aroused seeing gyerin uh doing stuff, so it could be possible that she is interested in women, but maybe only sexually? although i still could be wrong lol and it could just have been a moment of “I’m straight, but horny and u’ll do for now”. she could be in the closet too, who knows.
overall, sadistic beauty had some interesting conflict, some good characters (ill never like haesol lol), good art and the storytelling by this artist is well paced, but the execution and where the story went leaves a sour taste in my mouth. would i recommend this story? absolutely not. it is so frustrating, and for what? i wish i had saved myself this headache from the very start but the art and the fact that doona was a dom was what reeled me in. i only came back to it to see if the writer redeemed their story in some ways, but... well... you saw how that went. i would follow the artist if i could, their art is beautiful. however, i cannot say the same for the writer. from my exp, it seems that many webtoons have good art, but the writing definitely leaves way more room for improvement. that said, i do hope ppl will learn that in order to make a great comic/webtoon/manga and so on, it is not only about pretty drawings. the story and writing should be up to par with the art. if not, it should be at least close to it. because the art might attract people, but if the story doesn’t resonate, if it doesn’t make much sense, then ppl are bound to leave and drop it. and what is a story, but pretty pictures and nothing substantial in it? nothing, but superficial beauty.

Phantom Thief Hanako-kun AU Story: Chapter 8- The Search For Mitsuba
((Edit: I completely forgot a small recap so allow me to just add 😂))
In case it wasn't clear, this story does have its dark themes...
Enjoy!
---
-Last time in the previous chapter...
-Yashiro accepted a missing case from Yako
-Hanako unexpectedly came into Yashiro's apartment with a fever and Yashiro took care of him
-Mitsuba got a visit from Tsukasa
-and Kou got missed calls from Mitsuba
-The story continues!
-The next morning
-Hanako slowly opened his eyes
-He hadn't slept that well and soundly in so long
-As his eyes adjusted to his surroundings
-He started realizing where he was
-That ceiling. This bed. And.
-He looked over to his side
-To what he was holding
-Daikon legs
-Which means
-He looked up to see Yashiro sleeping peacefully
-What kind of weird sleeping position did he take???
-No, that wasn't the point right now!
-He got up letting go of her legs, flustered and touched the top of his head
-His eyes widened
-Gone. His hat's gone.
-He patted himself in search of the jewel he stole during the heist
-That's gone
-He looked down at himself
-He wasn't in his clothes
-All the rustling and movements on the bed woke Yashiro up
-She stirred and got up, still slightly out of it
-As her eyes adjusted, she faced a flustered Hanako who looked at her in horror
-Yashiro: "Hm...? Hanako-kun?"
-Hanako: "Detective, what were you...??? What was I....???"
-He couldn't seem to form the words
-Yashiro snapped out of her sleepy state as she looked at Hanako
-Seeing him getting so flustered was making her blush as well
-They were both on the same bed
-Add that on top of him wearing some of Yashiro's clothes
-Yashiro sure was seeing a new side of him
-Hanako didn't seem to remember all of last night's events, judging from his reaction
-But Yashiro still did
-Yashiro: [flustered] "Nothing happened last night! You were just really sick."
-Hanako: "Oh..."
-He fidgeted
-Hanako: "Could I have my clothes back?"
-Yashiro: "Ah, right!"
-Yashiro gave him his clothes back
-Hanako quickly changed and regained his composure
-He didn't feel any jewel in his clothes
-He must have hidden it away somewhere like he did before
-Hanako: "Well I'd best be on my way"
-Yashiro: "Wait!"
-Yashiro grabbed Hanako on time to stop him from going out the window
-Yashiro: "You're not going to disappear again, are you? We still have that deal. A gentleman should keep his word, no?"
-Honestly at this point, the deal was an excuse so they could hang out more
-Hanako: "Heh~ You remember what I've said before. You want me to still visit?"
-Yashiro: "Yes!"
-There was no hesitation in her reply Hanako noted surprisingly
-Hanako: "...Very well then. I'll come by when I can"
-He doesn't seem to be so bothered anymore? Thank goodness
-Yashiro sighed in relief
-Yashiro: "Oh good. I thought I might have to resort to this."
-She pulled out the jewel which she kept in a box during the clothes swapping
-Hanako looked shocked
-Did that mean he came here immediately after the heist without a care?!
-Wow, he was not thinking straight at all
Hanako: "Oh god I didn't know you're such a savage. You got me"
-Hanako looked down and held his hand to cover his face
-He couldn't stop smiling
-Yashiro: "I can be when I want to! I shouldn't even be doing this but well..."
-Yashiro put the jewel in his hand
-Yashiro: "Here."
-Hanako covered his eyes with his bangs and looked away, turning his back
-Hanako: "Um....thanks. I'll see you some time soon."
-If Yashiro looked closely at him, the back ends of his ears were blushing bright red
-Yashiro: "See you"
-And with that, Hanako took off
-Yashiro got ready to go to Tsuchigomori's detective agency
-She just received a call from Tsuchigomori to come report
-She may still be investigating Yako's case but she should get back to the agency whenever she can in case she's needed
-She's an apprentice learning from Tsuchigomori after all
-Once she arrived at the office, Yako was sitting there annoying Tsuchigomori
-Tsuchigomori: "Don't you have anything better to do?"
-Yako: "I'm worried!"
-Yashiro: "Good morning, Tsuchigomori-sensei! Good morning, Yako-san!"
-Yako: "You're back! Any news? Good news??"
-Yashiro: "Uh I would still need more time to investigate. I'm sorry that I haven't found anything yet."
-Yako: "Ugh you're all useless! Misaki could be suffering at this very moment!"
-Yashiro: [sweatdrops] "Ahahaha...."
-Suddenly, the office door slammed open
-And in came a very worried Kou
-Kou: "SENPAI!"
-Yashiro: "Kou-kun?! What's wrong?"
-Kou: "It's Mitsuba! I don't know where he is!"
-Yashiro: "HUH?!"
-Kou: "He called me a few times last night and I didn't pick up but now when I try to call him back, I don't get a single response!"
-Yashiro: "Wait but this was last night, right? Maybe you're overreacting? He could be busy"
-Kou: "I thought that at first but then I thought about Yokoo and Satou. They haven't been responding to my messages either and they seem to have mysteriously disappeared from the traffic department for a couple days already so I'm worried."
-A bit of background:
-Yokoo and Satou were Kou's police buddies
-They trained together as novice police cadets way back
-Since they transferred to the traffic department, they gave Kou a traffic safety amulet, saying it suited him since it was a pun (The word on the amulet is pronounced "Koutsuu" in Japanese)
-Kou initially wore the amulet around his neck but now wears it on his right ear
-Kou's whistle was also a gift from them when he got promoted to a police officer
-Alright, back to the story!
-Yashiro: "What??"
-Yako: "Wait, what did you say? So, it wasn't just Misaki who disappeared?"
-Kou: "Huh? There's another person missing?"
-Yashiro was puzzled
-Were Kou's missing friends connected with the missing Misaki case?
-It was too early to conclude
-Kou: "Senpai, please! Could you help look for Mitsuba? I don't know about Yakoo and Satou but they're still part of the police force and they got each other so I believe they are able to take care of themselves. Mitsuba though...he doesn't seem to have anyone with him so I want to find him as soon as possible!"
-Yashiro: "Leave it to me!"
-Kou: "Thank you! I'll come along too! I feel responsible"
-Yako: "Hmph, if it's not about Misaki, then I'll just hang here."
-Tsuchigomori: [facepalm] "...I wonder how you're a policewoman"
-Kou and Yashiro left the agency in search for Mitsuba
-They started with places Kou believed Mitsuba would be at
-Then, they just looked around the city
-Kou had a worried look on his face the entire time that Yashiro couldn't help but worry for him
-She tried to think of a conversational topic to get his mind off the case for a bit
-Yashiro: "Kou-kun, I baked some donuts a couple days ago and I was reminded of you since you taught me how to make them"
-Kou: "Oh really? I'm glad that you like that recipe!"
-Well, he smiled a bit. That's good
-Kou and Yashiro ran into Teru in the middle of their investigation
-Yashiro: "Minamoto-senpai!"
-Kou: "Nii-chan!"
-Yashiro: "What are you doing here?"
-Teru: "I'm patrolling this area. What about you two?"
-Kou: "We're looking for Mitsuba! He might be around this area"
-Teru: "Then, let me join you! I may be able to help."
-Yashiro: "Thank you, Minamoto-senpai!"
-Kou: "Thank you, Nii-chan!"
-As always, Teru was so cool!
-But wait
-As Yashiro stared at him, she noticed that she didn't seem to feel as strongly attracted to Teru as before
-But why?
-Maybe because she spent the last couple days worrying her head off about Hanako?
-She did seem to think about Hanako a lot lately and when it comes to him, she gets flustered easily....
-........What?
-Wait why does that sound like...?
-No. Perish that thought.
-It was stupid.....right?
-Oh gosh, maybe she should talk to Aoi about this
-Yashiro crushed on a lot of hot guys in the past and Hanako just didn't apply to that category in her terms
-So it was really strange
-As the three searched, Teru stopped them at one point
-Teru: "Maybe it's better if we split up to cover more ground. We could widen our search and then come back to a spot together when we're done. Whoever finds Mitsuba could bring him over."
-Kou: "Ah! Sounds good, Nii-chan! The city does have a lot of people so it should be alright. Senpai, what do you think?"
-Yashiro snapped out of her zoning out
-Yashiro: "Huh? Oh yeah, sure. We could do that."
-Teru: "Then, let's meet back at that statue over there in half an hour. That should be enough time to cover this part of the area"
-Yashiro & Kou: "Got it!"
-And so, they split up and Yashiro was left to investigate one part of the area on her own
-She found there were back alleys in some sections so she decided to have a look into them
-She's a detective's apprentice so she should be able to handle this
-As she searched however, she felt a pair of eyes watching her
-And they gave her the chills
-Yashiro: "W-who's there?!"
-No response
-She suddenly had vivid flashbacks to that time with Tsukasa
-She still hadn't gotten over that
-And before she knew it, she was getting a bit scared as she walked through the back alley
-She's got to pull herself together
-The longer she felt herself being watched though, the more scared she got
-She started running and she didn't know where she was now
-Yashiro: "Kou-kun! Minamoto-senpai!"
-Now, she was yelling for them
-As she turned the corner, she bumped into someone and fell down
-Yashiro: "Oof!"
-"Detective! Are you alright?"
-That voice. That nickname.
-She looked up
-Yashiro: "Hanak--"
-She immediately shushed when she realized Hanako wasn't alone and he wasn't even in his uniform
-Hanako was actually dressed up as Hana from before
-And nearby she saw Mitsuba
-Yashiro: "Mitsuba-kun!"
-Mitsuba: "Daikon-senpai!"
-Not so long after Yashiro found Mitsuba, Kou and Teru came running towards them
-Kou: "Senpai!"
-Yashiro: "Kou-kun! Minamoto-senpai!"
-Kou: "You weren't at the statue by the agreed time so we--"
-Kou then spotted Mitsuba
-Kou: "MITSUBA!"
-Kou proceeded to tackle and hug Mitsuba
-Mitsuba: "Minamoto-kun?!"
-Kou: "MITSUBA I WAS SO WORRIED!"
-Mitsuba: "Ah...I figured you would be. I tried to call you before but you weren't picking up so I left a voicemail."
-Kou: "Oh. I didn't check that. Oops."
-Mitsuba: "Stupid."
-Kou: "But wait, then why weren't you picking up my calls??"
-Mitsuba: "I had my phone turned off! I may have also left it behind. Did it not click for you that I am busy? I tried to let you know that!"
-Kou: "Mitsuba...I thought you went missing"
-Mitsuba: "What? Are you worried that my cuteness would get me kidnapped? I hope you don't plan on handcuffing me and you together again!"
-Kou: "That was a misunderstanding! I thought you were a criminal! And I didn't know how it worked at the time"
-Mitsuba: "I was being an undercover journalist! I can't believe you didn't even have the key to unlock them and we were stuck together for some time. AH YOU PERVERT!"
-Kou: "That again?!"
-Yashiro: "Ahem...you guys could squabble about that later?"
-Kou: "Oh sorry. I forgot you guys were there. Thank you Senpai for the help! You're the best! And of course Nii-chan too!....Oh Hana! You're also here! We meet again!"
-Hanako: "Ah yes! It's nice to see you again!...."
-Hanako was sweating under Teru's glare who was eyeing him suspiciously
-Hanako: "Well I got to leave so I'll get going now. Bye bye!"
-Hanako left the scene, everyone watching him go
-Mitsuba was recalling their conversation earlier:
[Earlier]
-Mitsuba: "You can drop the act now. We're alone. I know it's you, Hanako."
-Hanako: "Oh? Did you just figure it out?"
-Mitsuba: "No. I knew it was you the moment I inspected your face at Daikon-senpai's apartment. Minamoto-kun may be an idiot but you can't fool me. Don't underestimate me."
-Hanako: "Heh~ but you didn't say anything."
-Mitsuba: "I didn't say anything because I figured Daikon-senpai didn't want to reveal you. I do care for her, for your information. And Minamoto-kun...I don't know if I want him to know"
-Hanako: "So why did you drag me out here then? If not to arrest me?"
-Mitsuba: "I wanted to ask you something personal. I noticed it before but I didn't mention it."
-Hanako: "And what's that?"
-Mitsuba: "Why are there bandages underneath your clothes? In my photos of you, I could spot a glint of them now and then when the wind is strong enough to reveal more of your skin."
-Hanako: "Oh? Are you concerned for my well-being, gentleman?"
Mitsuba: "No. I do not care for you at all. If anything, I do not even want to associate with you. The only reason I'm even bothering is because Minamoto-kun is worried about you and Daikon-senpai seems to be protecting you for some reason."
Hanako: "In that case, I assure you I'm perfectly fine. No bandages here."
Mitsuba: "...Let me rephrase that. Why WERE there bandages underneath your clothes back then? Even if you say that, the times you had bandages were infrequent and unusual. There were times you did have them and times you didn't. They don't seem ordinary to me and I don't think you got hurt that badly during your heists. Those bandages seemed almost as if to say you got hurt...on purpose."
-An eerie silence followed
-Hanako: "Do you really want to know that badly?"
-Mitsuba felt some odd terror
-That's when Yashiro bumped into Hanako
-So, Mitsuba didn't quite get his answer but there was definitely something going on
-As he pondered while they walked out the alleyway, he felt like he was being watched
-He turned in the direction he felt them
-But then it was gone
-Was it his imagination?
---
-Hanako was back at his hideout where a bunch of Mokke were playing around
-He was in the middle of thinking
-While he noted that Mitsuba was quite a sharp and observant boy, there was also something else on his mind
-Yashiro was looking for Kou and Teru before she bumped into him
-And she seemed very close to Kou
-Hanako was wondering when Yashiro started calling Kou "Kou-kun" instead of "Minamoto-kun"
-It didn't bother him before but now suddenly, it did
-He thought of when Kou was being all cheery with Yashiro
-A sharp pain went through his chest
-Mokke: Something smells
-The Mokke started inching away from Hanako
-His heart was aching and he didn't get why

"Hello ladies and gents-" Leah started into the microphone, getting cut off by Alex.
"This is the moment you've waited for," Alex laughed.
"Every time!" Leah yelled, "I'm so sorry, that was literally ear rape. If you do not know who we are, I'm Leah Vine, here with my fraternal twin brother and co-host, Alex."
"Hi there!" Alex said, "so, Leah, what are we talking about today?"
"Today we are talking about the murders Port Gibson, which is a city in Claiborne County, Mississippi," Leah answered in weird voice, "this city has a total population of 1,600, which really isn't that many people, if you ask me."
"Leah has done so much research on this case, I really hope talking about this one makes you all happy," Alex laughed.
"Here's our usual disclaimer; Alex and I are comedians, we joke about everything, you've been warned," Leah said, "so on to this case. It all started in 1969—" Alex snorted, "shut up. Anyway, in 1969 this dude was going around and killing hippies. It started with a young woman named Ana, no last name given. This dude stabbed her several times in the stomach, shouting over and over 'perish for your sins'."
"Wait, wait, wait," Alex said, "so you're saying this Catholic activist, pretty much just like... Stabbed this poor girl while saying 'die bitch'?"
Leah laughed, "pretty much."
"So tell them why we're talking about this case, Leah," Alex said.
"There have been more murders of women who have a hippie aesthetic being murdered in Port Gibson," Leah informed, "and we are investigators, journalists, we have a vlog channel. Which means, we are going to Port Gibson to investigate these murders."
"Alright, so," Leah said, looking at the camera, "we have landed in Port Gibson and there has been another murder." She panned the camera to Alex, poking his cheek. He took off his sunglasses and gave a smoulder to the camera.
"Please edit that out," Alex laughed.
"Wait, we're here," Leah said, quickly jogging up to the yellow tape.
"Excuse me ma'am," an officer said, "we're gonna need you to step back." Leah nodded, stepping back a bit as Alex tried to negotiate.
"So Alex is trying to negotiate, and—" Leah was cut off by an attractive, young man.
"Excuse me," he said, Leah immediately turned to to him, raising her eyebrows, "I-I've seen you and your brother online before. I-if you like, you could maybe help out? You seem to have a knack for finding information."
"Uh, uh," Leah stuttered, "y-yeah! Sure, I'd love to!"
"I'm Spencer, by the way, Spencer Reid," the man said.
"I'm Leah, but if you've seen my brother and I online I'm sure you already know that," Leah laughed, tucking hair behind her ear.
"Let's go," Spencer nodded, grabbing her hand. Leah's cheeks turned red, and she kept her head down.
"Reid!" A darker man said, "who's the hottie?" Leah raised her eyebrows, looking down. The comment reminded her of an event in her home town that scarred her. Something she would rather not talk about.
"This is Leah Vine, she's a true crime investigator along with her brother, Alex," Spencer said, "Leah, this is Derek Morgan."
"Very nice to meet you," Leah smiled, before grabbing a pair of latex gloves and looking around, "was any shouting heard?"
"Yes, neighbors heard a man shouting 'perish for your sins', why?" Morgan asked.
"In 1969—" Leah was cut off by her brother.
"Ah, 69 the magic," Alex laughed. Leah rolled her eyes.
"Anyway, this dude started a killing spree in 1969, his first victim being a young woman named Ana," Leah continued, "he stabbed her several times in the stomach, while shouting 'perish for your sins'."
"In other words," Alex said, "a religious activist went around shouting 'die bitch!'. Fucked up, if you ask me."
"Does he make jokes out of everything?" Morgan asked, raising his eyebrows.
"They both do, actually," Spencer answered, "they have a podcast and they're well known stand up comedians in about fourteen states." Leah nodded in confirmation.
"Who's the older one?" Morgan asked.
"We're twins, does it matter?" Leah and Alex asked in unison.
"You can tell Leah is the older one because she's at least two inches shorter than Alex," Spencer said, before pointing to the platform boots she was wearing, "however, those boots add at least six inches on her, making her taller than Alex."
Leah raised her eyebrows, "I'm impressed."
"What the hell do you do for a living?" Alex asked.
"Anyway, the dude killing the hippies in 1969 would hide the knife in high up places," Leah said, "and there are exposed beams up there." A smirk found its way to her face. She walked over to a stepping stool, putting it slightly to the right of the beam. She jumped, grabbing on to the beam and pulling herself up. Spencer and everyone else in the room were surprised.
"She did gymnastics when we were kids," Alex smiled. Another smirked came over Leah's lips as she picked up a knife, her smirk soon being overcome by a smile.
"Got it," Leah said. She threw at a box, the blade landing perfectly in it. She swung her leg over the beam, trying to carefully get herself down, "I did not think this through." Her fingers started to slip, "shit, I'm slipping!"
Spencer quickly went over, "let go, I'm right here." Leah let go, her heart speeding up as she fell. However, she didn't hit the floor, instead, Spencer had caught her. Leah quickly got out of his grasp.
"Thanks," Leah smiled. Alex was laughing his ass off, damn near on his knees, "keep laughing, you'll be on your knees for a whole different reason." Alex immediately stopped laughing, which caused Morgan to laugh.
"And what's she gonna do? Slap you really hard?" Morgan asked. Leah walked over and smiled sweetly while she placed her hands on his shoulders. She brought her knee up, and kneed him in the dick.
"That," Leah said as Morgan groaned in pain. Spencer laughed.
"Well, now we know not to mess with her," Spencer said.

But what did Dorian steal? Was it something from his parents? I just get the feeling that it was something from his parents' house. Childhood mementos? I'm dying of curiosity!
Well well! Nonny, you’re not wrong… (also @opal-bee and @kurosmind, in case you still happen to be curious)
Pavellan, approx 1200 words. Continuation of “Against All Odds”
Varlen let the door click shut behind him, the light he hadturned on flickering a few times before finally buzzing to life on the ceiling. This day has been ridiculous, hethought, turning his key in the lock then checking the doorknob. And I am clearly out of my mind.
“This is ah… quite a place you have here.” The man who had carjackedhim, Dorian, was peering suspiciously at Varlen’s coffee table, no doubtattempting to identify if the marks on it were features of the wood or just an eclectic array of stains. Varlen turned and felt his face grow hot. They’d talked a lot more asthey’d drove around the city, and Varlen had (probably unwisely) invited him back to hisplace for a bit. Something didn’t add up about Dorian, sure, but he didn’t really strike Varlen as dangerous. It was obvious he wasn’tcarrying any weapons on him. Just that satchel and an impressive mustache.
“Yeah,” Varlen said, his voice apologetic as he moved overto the couch. He sat down on it with a rushing sigh, then winced as a piece offoam burst out from the cushion and wandered across the floor. “I um… wasn’texpecting company, so…”
Dorian turned and arched an eyebrow. “That would have madeall the difference, I suppose?”
Despite his embarrassment, Varlen couldn’t help but laugh at the truth behind the comment. “No,probably not.” He paused, then gestured to one of the chairs. “You can sitdown, if you want. They may lookdiseased, but there’s nothing living in them.” I don’t think…
“Well, consider my standards met,” Doriandrawled, but sat regardless. He leaned back, sighing. The satchel remained nestled safely inhis lap. Varlen eyed it quietly for a moment, and his curiosity got the betterof him.
“So… can I ask what’s in the bag?”
Dorian’s grey eyes flashed, flicking towards him, and for asecond Varlen thought he’d made him angry. However, the moment passed, andDorian relaxed again, sighing and sinking further into the decrepit chair. “Isuppose,” he said airily, waving a hand lethargically before letting it flop back into hislap. “It’s the least I can do, after all, given the miraculous rescue youperformed.”
“Not willingly,”Varlen pointed out, then grinned, “but hey, I’ll take it.”
With a light snort, Dorian sat quietly or a moment, fingertips toying with the clasp of the bag. Then, almost reluctantly, heopened it and pulled out its contents. Varlen tensed, not sure what to expect.
He certainly hadn’t expected a book.
“Yes, scandalous, isit not?” Dorian said, taking note of Varlen’s bemused expression. “All thattrouble… for this.”
“I mean… I…” Varlen gave up trying to justify it and justshook his head. “Why? Is it like… afirst edition or something? Is it super rare? Worth thousands?”
“Not at all.” Dorian’s gaze had fallen to the leather cover, and a soft smile drifted across his face as he gently eased it open with a satisfying creak. “Just… well, sentimental drivel, I suppose. It was given to me by a good friend. One I miss rather terribly, as I recently discovered. Hence the heist.”
“Wait,” Varlen said, raising a hand, face scrunched into adeep, bewildered expression. “So you mean to tell me you broke into someone’s house… for a book.” He pointed. “That book.”
“Yes.”
Varlen had nothing to say to that. He just raised hiseyebrows in disbelief and shook his head. “That’s… well, whoever it was from, they musthave meant a lot to you.”
“He was… a good friend. A good man, really.” Dorian spoke slowly, his voice growing distant as hebrushed his fingertips across the back of the cover. “A better one than I willever be, at least. Not that such a thing would take much, mind you.”
By the tone of Dorian’s voice alone, Varlen could tell thiswas a difficult thing for him to share. He watched as the dark-haired man swallowedtightly, pursed his lips, then blinked a few times, as if forcing somethingback. Holding something in.
“What was his name?” Varlen asked eventually. Gently. “Did he writethat?”
Dorian let out a surprisingly watery laugh. “What? This? Heaven’s no. This… was his father’swork, actually. One of his first publications. I… apprenticed under him for atime.” He smiled to himself, then gently closed the book. “Felix kept me sane, you know. He would sneak me food when I forgot to eat. Force me to go outsideand breathe the fresh air, if thereeven is such a thing. I… the first year I spent working with his father, hegave me this for my birthday. Blessed fool even signed the cover like some sort ofpseudo-celebrity. His idea of a joke, I think…”
Dorian trailed off, and Varlen said nothing, feeling asurprising pang of empathy for the man sitting in his battered old chair, curved over that leather-bound book. However, eventually, Varlen found anotherquestion begging to be asked.
“So… why did you have to steal it?”
“Well, I couldn’t just askfor it,” Dorian began blithely, then hesitated, a dark expression suddenly liningthe corners of his mouth and eyes. “My parents had it. It was sent to them, apparently. Had I requested it, they would have likely destroyed it purely to spiteme.”
Varlen cringed, leaning forward to rest his elbows on hisknees. “So you had to steal it.”
“Yes.” Dorian sighed, reaching up to rub at his eyes. “Ratherunfortunate situation, I’m afraid. They had upgraded their security measures since I last lived in that cursed house. But… I do apologise for dragging you into all of this. I imaginedriving terrified through the inner city then harbouring a criminal wasn’t quite how you planned on spendingyour evening.”
Varlen forced a chuckle, still feeling bad on behalf of hisnew houseguest. “Yeah well… it’s not so bad. I’m not murdered in a ditch, so I have that going for me.”
He glanced across to catch Dorian arching his eyebrow at him. “You… haverather low standards, Varlen. You know that, yes?”
“Yeah, well, I mean…” Varlen gestured around the crampedspace, every object in it trapped in some sorry state of disrepair. “That shouldbe pretty obvious by now.”
Dorian laughed at that, leaning back, the sound rolling easilyfrom his chest. It was the first genuinely relaxed thing he’d done that entireevening. Perhaps, tucked away in such a small, nondescript apartment, he feltsafe from the repercussions of his crime. Perhaps he was right to feel thatway. This would probably be the last place anyone thought to look for him.
With that thought in mind, Varlen suddenly spoke. “You can stay the night here, if you want.” Dorian, whose eyes had actually drifted closed for a moment, snappedopen to look at him, as though shocked. Varlen felt his cheeks grow hot and hecleared his throat. “I uh… have a spare bed. Well it’s not a bed exactly, more a blow-up mattress, but youcan use it if you’d feel better here then… at your place… y’know, if your parents suspect…”
Nailed it, Varlenthought bitterly as he trailed off, cringing and burying his face in his hands, pretending to rub his eyes. Yep. Smoothest talkerin the city right here. I should give lessons. Start a class. Write a book. Lecture at a unive—
“You… are a very kind person, Varlen.” Doriansaid suddenly, startling Varlen out of his despair. He paused, regarding Varlen with those quartz-grey eyes, then smiled, causing Varlen’s cheeks flush yet again. “I would be rather foolish to turn downsuch a generous offer, given the circumstances.”
Varlen blinked for a moment, stunned that Dorian hadactually agreed. “Wait, so… you will?Stay, I mean.”
“If you will have me, yes.”
In a rush, Varlen launched to his feet, suddenly strangelypanicked. What am I meant to do? I don’tthink anyone’s ever stayed the night at this dump of a place before! Where’s thatmattress… shit, I can’t remember… wait… maybe…
“I… ah…” Varlen paused, forcing himself to stop, then took a deep, calming breath. Significantlymore composed, he cleared his throat pointedly and turned to meet Dorian’squizzical stare. “May I offer you a beverage.”
Dorian let out a surprised laugh at the sudden formality, then relaxed into a smile as Varlen’s composure broke and he grinned back stupidly.
“Please.”
