stays pattern update (no pictures this time):

i could keep fussing with this forever, but i think the fit is as good as its going to get (that i can check in mock ups) and that the boning channels are at least mostly in the right place- theres maybe some angles that arent perfect, but im not going to know how things play when ive got all my layers in until... i have all my layers in. so i think its time to start cutting out the real fabrics in the morning.

ive got at least 3 layers to cut before i can start sewing- the fashion fabric and two layers of strength. im still debating how im doing my tabs bones as to whether ill need a fourth (i think ill want one for the CF for the cross bone either way) if i do do the fourth, i think i wont do a separate lining, but i might change my mind on that. i havent actually decided if ill line them at all. basically im still very up in the air over construction, but i have a good chunk of cutting to do before that comes back into play!

Sorry if this has already been answered, but does Ford celebrate his birthday? I know its pretty hard to keep track of time when its ... nonlinear in the multiverse but I feel like Bill would know. And to ford every once and a while Bill demands his attention and he comes back to the pyramid to the wildest (worst) surprise party. The cake is human skin, candles are those really long wisdom teeth. Ford hates it.

i'll call out that a main plot point of chapter 4 is the fact bill gets ford presents on his b-day so yah its a regular thing, but they celebrate the day after his b-day

Jiang Cheng and Yanli would be so upset and miss Wei Wuxian and their father and you know, their home & community. Jiang Fengmian feels like he's taken a truck to the face (thanks truck-kun). it's kinda fascinating to me how welt has been "at the end of his life" for like. several decades by now. he goes on and on about how old and weary he is and how "his job is done" and his story is over but- oh wait i just realized i can phrase this in a very funny way- he's kind of sorta immortal now because he got the herrscher core back, so he's really just stuck in the epilogue for all eternity

the only real polyworld au i know of outside of my own (wow i can say that now!) is the absolute classic monster apartments au. nicely written, fun concept, and chock-full of my favorite trope, the identity reveal. i drew a LOT of that back in the day, but i did a little sketch a couple weeks ago too :3

i recently realized i could do a similar thing with a still-partially-superpowered edd and tord being the only human instead, which i think i like a lot more. its more supported by canon too!

didn’t give much context before but we’re going with that the egg was abandoned in winter horns and recovered by a group of waddle explorers

there wasn’t a lot of (known) writing on dedede’s species so figuring out what to do from there was kinda hard and they didn’t really know anything for certain, but between a little research, a gut feeling, and dedede and mk already used to Parenting, they passed the egg onto them to look after and well. yeah

it was definitely a rollercoaster for dedede, to be given hope that there were others like him after all - so it was only natural he’d take it very seriously. he spends a lot of time with them and they’re very clingy because of it. he says they’re like a duckling

being so big also comes with problems because as clingy as they are, they outgrew being able to be held by other people pretty fast lol
