Modern Au ViJinx thoughts:

Jinx exists in this universe as opposed to Powder but she's really a truer mix of the two than a direct 1:1 with Arcane's Jinx. She's closer to how Jinx was with Isha I think, still mentally ill but for the most part present and healthy, she has the tools to manage her symptoms for the most part.

She's been on the path of independence for a couple years now and at 19 she's antsy to move out of Vanders place. She's been relying less and less on Vi, Vander and Silco (everyone is alive at this point) as she gets older to the point she's making enough of her own money to save and buy things.

She doesn't have any real job of any kind but she's found under-the-table fix-it jobs for whoever needs it and pays the most. Unfortunately that usually ends up being shadier individuals, and has gotten her in trouble a couple times. She still hangs out with Ekko when they can. She helps him out with his college projects, even if it's his not-so-subtle way of trying to get her interested in going to college with him.

Vi is 23-24 (both the ages they are in the show) and has long since moved out. She's worked her way through an apprenticeship at a mechanics shop and has pretty steady work and income because of it. She tries her hardest to keep up her relationship with Jinx and drops just about everything to make time and space for her. Jinx hasn't asked for any of that in at least a year or two now. She keeps offering up her spare room to Jinx when she moves out but she hasn't gotten a solid answer from her yet.

Nobody has any clue what she does except for Vi, who bailed her out of jail the first and only time she got arrested. It may have been from a DUI she got for a party one of her clients invited her to when she first started working. She's the only one she would ever call if she needed anything at this point in her life even if she doesn't know how to talk with Vi like she used to.

She has her recently realized feelings for her older sister as well, she never really noticed them at all until Vi had moved out. Powder at the time was 15 and Vi was 20. Jinx didn't fully notice WHAT they were until she turned 17 and by then the space and time had changed their relationship. No matter how hard they both tried to keep it up, the fact was they both matured into different people they didn't fully recognize anymore. Neither think it's a bad thing, only that it's different and they don't know each other as well as they feel they used to.

With Vi living on her own and working a full time job, and with Jinx growing up and out into the world, it seemed inevitable. With more steady job leads popping up in the area where Vi had moved to, Jinx is starting to consider her sisters offer a little more seriously about the apartment room. Ultimately, she'd decide to get her own place but not too far away. Luck would have it that there was an apartment opening up in the same complex Vi was living at, a couple units down.

Vi is ecstatic about this and Jinx can't contain her enthusiasm either. The thought of spending time with each other was what both of them needed, they had really missed the other and there isn't anything like spending time in person to regrow lost connections. Vi was a little hurt at first Jinx declined her offer again but with how things worked out she doesn't hold on to that, and Jinx gets her own space while still being within bothering distance of Vi. They spend a stupid amount of their free time with each other, slotting back into each other's lives as if no time had passed at all.

That's about as far as I'm getting tonight but I'd love to explore this a little bit more later. With the flavor and depth and less of the foundation building. Like a detailed scene of Jinx' jail fiasco or some moments between the two when Jinx still lives at Vanders and Vi is in her own apartment. Future moments of them living in the apartment complex together, figuring out that in the process of getting to know each other again after that much time apart, they don't just love each other anymore. To both of their frustration, they're falling IN love with each other, and definitely in lust with each other.

I still stand by my opinion that Neuvillette doesn't hate and wouldn't hate archons if he were to meet them.

His voice lines sound like right now simply associates them with Heavenly Principles, which is understandable because he doesn't know them personally. So, of course, to him they look like usurpers who aid HP. But none of the archons we've known so far particularly wanted to be an archon. And it doesn't seem that they particularly like Celestia either.

The line about Nahida clearly shows compassion, and you don't sympathise like that with someone you hate.

For Neuvillette and Zhongli specifically, I've seen people arguing who is stronger, as if they would ever fight when things can be talked out. Like, Neuv probably knows Morax by reputation alone, and that reputation includes things like "Warrior god", so I'm not surprised he mentions fighting in his voice line. But as long as Liyue is safe and his people are okay, Zhongli has no reason to fight with Neuvillette. All his fighting was out of necessity anyway, not because he liked it all that much.

Besides, Zhongli is the one who tells us how he understands that you should leave then the time comes. So, I imagine, if Neuvillette were to judge him and demand dragons authority to be returned, Zhongli would actually return it willingly.

oh how rainy it was in iowa city today. you lay in bed staring out the window, curtains pushed open indicating that kate had already gotten up. stretching your limbs and yawing you sit upright in bed, listening to see if kate was in the kitchen. but you didnt have to listen, you could smell the signature eggs and waffles she makes for you during your 'sleepovers'.

not wanting to get up yet, you sit against the headboard and check your phone. the time reads 7:56am. slowly you scroll through insta, snapchat, reply to some imessages, and finally..... tiktok. and the very first thing that pops up on your for you page is an edit of kate.

"are you fucking serious?" the words drip out of your mouth in annoyence as you remember the fiasco from the prior night. your eyebrows crinkle just thinking about what kate said, and how you guys interacted after the fact. but who were you kidding? the whole edit will be watched, and because it was a goooooddd one, to the favorites it went. of course you felt a little guilty favoriting it. it was to a beyonce song— you couldn't remember the name, and it most definitely isn't released because if it was... damn it'd be #1 for years. the song was very catchy, and the lyrics made you giggle while you thought of kate.

sliding out of bed, you make your way to the bathroom to wash your face and brush your teeth- maybe run a brush through your hair? yeah no, definitely run a brush through it. finishing up in the bathroom, kate calls from the kitchen.

"y/n!!! the waffles and eggs are ready!" her voice ecos through the apartment.

"im coming!" you yell back, half jogging into the kitchen, as the aroma was absolutely delightful. kate always made such good breakfasts. as you get there, she turns and pushes a plate to your spot, inquiring you.

"you hungry? because i made a lot, i mightve used all your eggs" her beautiful blue eyes make contact with yours, and she smiles. "thats not even a question just sit, cutie" the last part coming out quickly.

you slowly sit down, slightly flushed and pull the syrup over to drown your waffles. taking the first bite you watch her frame move side to side, obviously looking for something.

"i bought you more hot sauce, its in the left cabinet on the bottom shelf" you say, mouth full of waffle and pointing with your fork. kate gasps to herself and pulls the bottle of chalupa hot sauce out of the cabinet, turning around and beaming at you. it was very obvious she was happy.

"for me ??? you shouldn't have!!" she plops down in her seat next to you and gets busy (eating ofc). the two of you silently eat, an occasional sniff or thud of the counter from the utensils. you think back to the song from the edit you saw earlier, the tune getting stuck in your head.

"i think i wanna go back to school, and have my locker full of pictures of you~" the words flow out of your mouth, not thinking if kate knew the song or not.

she whips her head in your direction, eyebrows pushed together.

"what? are you serious?"

before realizing she is genuinely confused you keep singing, dancing around in your seat, hips moving.

"so give me that A in biology, im graduatin' soon~"

kates still looking at you confused, as you continue you close your eyes and move your fingers, pointing at kate and pushing her shoulder. of course you skip parts in the song, and mess up the lyrics since you'd only listened to it this morning.

"dont, get on get on, get on get on, uh huh~"

kate continues to push her eyebrows further together— if thats even possible, eventually reaching her hand out to grab your arm. you stop and look at her straight on.

"what? whats wrong? do you not like that song?" you chrip out, nervous that shes mad, or something.

"song? thats a song? are you sure?" kate says. "that didn't sound like a song. are you just saying that?"

now its your turn to push your eyebrows together. your mouth twists and you answer her honestly.

"why would i just be saying that? i heard it on tiktok before i got out of bed and its suck in my head. i was actually gonna add it to our playlist," you drop your hand down, but she keeps her grip tight on it. her face relaxes a bit. "but i wont if you dont like it"

kate smiles a little and opens up her mouth to answer, but closes it and shuts her eyes. "i thought— well nevermind. i like it, you can add it if you want, plum"

again your face goes red. plum? she hasnt called you that since sophomore year. the year you decided to never tell her how you actually felt. kates been usuing nicknames way more often, but this one especially caught you off gaurd. "ok then, i will" a sweet smile creeps onto your face.

kates grip on your arm loosens, and she pulls her hand away. slowly though, making sure you guys are touching for as long as possible. you both giggle like schoolgirls at the action.

the day goes on pretty regularly after that. practice, lift, some classes, etc. you get home and hop into the shower, taking a decent amount of time, deeming it reasonable because of the hard day you had. the clock hits 6 and you decide to cook some dinner and wind down on the couch. aimlessly scrolling on tiktok (again? bad reader...smh), you come across a live stream. kates teammate kennise was on with jada, caitlin, and kate. they all seemed to be in caitlins apartment. you locked your eyes on kate, and occasionally looked down to see the comments. and wow, were people going crazy. asking about if they have girlfriends, what game they are most excited for, if they think theyll win the championship this year etc. one specific question popped up a couple of times tho.

'DO YOU GUYS KNOW ABOUT THE EDITS?'

'KATE HAVE YOU SEEN THE EDITS!!??'

'do you think they know guys???? omg'

oh no. you prayed to god that kate didn't see the comments. and if she did? you wished for mercy on your soul for what would come out of her beautiful mouth. and then it happened..

kate read one of the comments aloud.

"do i know about the edits?" she rephrased. "yea i do. a girl i know has a whole folder of edits and i accidentally saw it," she stratches her head and smirks, side eyeing caitlin who shoves kates shoulder.

"they are cool tho, i appreciate you guys supporting us."

you stared at your phone in disbelief. a girl i know? A GIRL I KNOW? as if! as if you dont spend every waking moment together? as if you dont look at eachother a little longer than you should? and that you are way too touchy to just be really close friends?!! its not that you want her to call you her girlfriend or anything (yes you do girl cmon) , but acknowledging that youre her best friend wouldve been a litte better. the fans would understand that. they know you! they see you in the lives and tiktoks! hell youre all over their instagrams! and they know you guys are incredibly close, so it would make sense if you saved them to make fun of her or to do something silly.

you turned the live off and stared at the black tv screen for a couple minutes. the past two days have made you think about your feelings for kate more deeply than you ever have before. and about hers for you. a text buzz comes from your lap, and you read the contact name.

you stare at the text, not wanting to reply. a simple "what?" is all you answer. getting up, you turn all the lights off and make your way into bed. ignoring whatever kate sent back, you decide its best to distance yourself from her, in lieu of accidentally telling her how you feel, or potentially just ruining the whole friendship.

gosh tomorrow is going to be hard.

as you fall into a deep sleep, your phone buzzes consistently with a specific rhythm, indicating kate is calling. but you ignore it, sticking by your decision. although part of you knew it was petty to be mad at what she said, your stubbornness stopped you from getting over yourself and communicating how you felt about it to her. maybe youll feel better when you wake up. maybe not.

The Little Ds help you with your super cool jester preformances. They're surprisingly good at dancing and balancing plates.

You use the Little Ds as juggling balls sometimes.

Diavolo has promoted you as much as possible, bro atp people think you're a consort instead of court jester.

like they will full on go up to you to pitch ideas or put in a good word for Diavolo since he'll listen to you.

Barbatos also forces you to tell Diavolo news that'll make him angry or upset since he takes it a lot better coming from you.

Unrelated but you'd 100% be friends with Solomon and Thirteen. Which is awkward when theyre in the same room together.

Apart from Barbatos and Lucifer occassionally disciplining you, you are untouchable.

"Your Heighness...." A noble bows in front of Diavolo's throne. Why that scumbag had requested an audience with the Demon Prince, you had no idea. Technically you weren't even supposed to be listening in, but no one had noticed you on the chandelier yet so that was their problem.

And your problem when Barbatos eventually found out. Said Demon standing beside Diavolo's throne.

You watch as Diavolo nods along, uncharacteristically serious. "What do you need?"

"Well...I believe if we stopped trading pickles to the humans it would be a lot less daunting to create them-"

You blink. What the fuck. Bro requested an audience for this? Damn, this was so unserious it was good material for your next stand up routine.

You watch from overhead as Diavolo blinks, his wings stiffening ever so slightly, the crimson-haired prince raises an eyebrow. "You want to stop trading pickles to the Human Realm?"

"Yes, My Lord." The noble responds earnestly.

"No."

The demon blinks, astounded.

"Excuse me, may I ask you repeat that, my Lord?"

"No. Human's love pickles. They're our main traders. It'd sour relations even more." Diavolo says, you watch as Barbatos takes a deep breath, and as the Demon Prince begins to get annoyed.

You stiffle a laugh at the noble squandering, which leads to your downfall as you move your hands over your mouth, taking them off of your jester hat.

All the way down to the ground.

The bells on the hat jingle.

Barbatos' eyes are trained on you like a hawk. So are Diavolo's, but his eyes are more of an excited child on christmas than anything else.

The noble's eyes widen.

"Sup?" You grin awkwardly. The noble, sensing a way out of this pickle debate uses this as an excuse to say his goodbyes and leave.

Diavolo doesn't even notice. Barbatos just shakes his head ever so slightly.

"That guy was in a real pickle...!...Haha...right guys?" You laugh awkwardly, and despite the fact you're not funny at all, the Prince cackles like it was the best stand up routine he'd ever heard in his life.

You were currently at a banquet talking to the Little D's about your next juggling stunt when a demon approached you.

"Hello." She smiles, her red lips glossy.

"Sup."

"Well, I was wondering if I could ask a favour or two....." She looks hesitant but composed.

You nods your head, the bells on your hat jingling. You're convinced Diavolo put them on there to serve as some sort of cat bell.

Little D No.2 pops out from your breast pocket. "That's because everyone thinks you two are gay for eachother."

You yank him out of there. "Go annoy Mammon."

At this point you should be the Avatar of Pride.

"Sire. I'm telling you. He just stabbed several upper class demons with a rusty spoon!" The demon knight urges Diavolo, who isn't even looking at him.

The knight looks from you to him with a lax jaw.

I think "Take Me Instead" would be really cool! What about this: Donnie finds a spell (or maybe gets cursed, up to you) that ends up transferring the damage his loved ones receive to himself instead, leaving them unharmed. He finds this to be perfectly acceptable and naturally neglects to inform his family of this.

Since their mutations increase their healing rates, overall things go unnoticed...up until an enemy gets frustrated with why their attacks keep getting shrugged off, and instead restrains the brothers and starts experimenting.

Donnie finds it quite difficult to hide the spell then, and said enemy, who is quite fascinated by it, continues to test it out--continues hurting the turtles, who can't feel a thing, who can only watch as their injuries open up on their soft-shelled brother.

YOUUUUUUU.......... i like your brain. ouhhhh i like your brain

i think unlike the other scenarios ive chosen with curses i might either make this something he inflicts upon himself or a spell he accidentally casts through picking up something weird, i dont think its something he'd do INTENTIONALLY but i do like the idea of himself finding his way into this situation and starting out trying to make the excuse of "i cant say anything because its my fault, IM the only one who can fix it anyway, and they'd probably make fun of me", because there's no specific person to pin it on, he thinks he's the one who made the fuck up. he made his bed now he lies in it

then he sees it actually save one of his brothers from something that could have been serious, and its when the idea that this is an acceptable good thing really starts to fester, especially if its the result of his own negligence in some way. they're not mad at him, but he knows they WOULD be if the spell hadn't been in place and his brother had actually gotten hurt, right? it'd been his failure. this is the punishment, because even though he knows they'd be angry at him he also knows he would've gotten off easy. deep down there's a part of him that feels like this is what he deserves for something like that the whole time. he had a job, and he failed.

and sure, maybe its bad and fucking agonizing to patch himself up, but donnie has fixed himself up before. maybe a little too much. nobody has to know...

(and not sure who i'd make the villain that ultimately reveals it yet, so im open to suggestions here!)

and another one: would we wanna centralize it to tumblr like the olden days? i know the rp/askblog scene on tumblr definitely aint what it used to be, but ive picked up a couple of tips n tricks from the indie rp blogs that still exist on some workarounds for problems that slowly trickled in over the years (like uneditable reblogs)

i know discord rp servers have been the New Rage in askblog fandom rp hype and they ARE convenient but, personally?, one of my main motivations is i miss the interactivity with the readers, not just the fellow rpers, so i, personally, would probably do a blog and i wouldnt wanna be all alone lmfao

(also i think interactivity with the viewers/readers is a core aspect of slenderverse at least to an extent)

or if anyone has a suggestion for some other format, that's open too? idk. because like i said: the reader influence is something i, personally, wanna try and emphasize so it'd need to allow for that semi-easily

(ned is 27-28 over the course of the game, btw; we dont actually have a solid timeline for anything, just the year, so tbh jacob could've also been 20 and not 21 yet during the game. both he and ned have late birthdays, just a month apart)

so, yknow, being extremely early 20-somethings, both frye twins just take a train to london completely on impulse and dive headfirst into undoing the templars that've had an iron grip over the city for basically as long as they've been alive, yknow, as you do; and throughout the game jacob has to deal with goddamn daddy issues and fighting with his sister and insecurity and trying to be an assassin — and that's a lot for a guy to handle!! Especially one who's still just a couple years out of being a teenager! That's a fucking lot and if the devs are right, then he hasnt even realized that he's bi yet! Not until roth fucking kisses him while jacob's got a knife in his throat for the aforementioned indiscriminate, unproductive violence!

i mean, granted, yeah there were gay undertones during sequence 8, but i have to admit my bias here because i honest to god cannot take those missions seriously. Roth fucking preaches this and that about freedom and whatnot and then im plopped into the mission and it's the most rule-heavy shit ive ever seen in my short life as an assassin's creed player. Like what the hell, those missions were atrocious. Apprently i need to detonate the bombs a specific way, i cant just shoot them from a distance, i have to hold a button crouching down right next to the bombs, and then run the hell away! I have to avoid THIS and THAT while kidnapping xyz! Like there's freddy's apprehend missions and then there's THIS.

at least with ned's missions all you have to do is get the shit and go… i'm still salty that ubisoft cut his questline because they fucking insist on releasing a game a year >:((

my battery's dying. All these guys are different flavors of queer on top of just being pretty different and pretty similar in various ways, and there's just… barely anything about it. Ned especially, since he's just a quest giver whose screentime totals to, like, 2-5 minutes. i feel like there would be a slight jump from just dating to getting married

he'd be a lot more comfortable with you, of course

he's still very serious and independent

but his love for you is on a completely different level as soon as you guys tie the knot!

at that point, he wouldn't mind bragging about you or simply talking about you to LITERALLY ANYONE

he'd be so defensive of you, too

so imagine you're laying in bed next to him right after you announced your marriage

and he's slowly falling asleep (snoozi woozi) but you're skimming the tabloids, reading all the comments by some of the obsessive and rude "carats" (theyre not rly carats if they dont respect svt's personal life but whatever)

you're not upset, but you can't help the slight pout your mouth makes reading through those things

he rolls onto his side and lets out a deep sigh, so he says:

"jagi, are you not sleeping yet?"

"no, but you can go ahead"

youre turned away from him and he moves to spoon you, his head in the crook of your neck

he peers over your shoulder and silently watches as you read the comments

he doesn't say anything at first (because "who is he to tell you what to do/feel or not to do/feel" is his attitude)

it isn't until he hears you sigh at a particular comment that went along the lines of "i hope they separate because they aren't good enough for him"

he goes "aish. you shouldn't worry about that stuff, you know?"

"i know..." is all you can say

you shut your phone off and try to relax

little do you know, he's actually FUMING

he is SO PISSED

there's nothing more he wants than to be treated with respect EXCEPT for his spouse to be treated with the same respect

he nuzzles his head into your neck

"you okay, y/n?"

"yeah"

"i just..." (i imagine he'd be kinda flustered trying to actually comfort you and say romantic things, so he's trying to play it cool and casual) "it doesn't matter what anyone thinks. i think you're... the right one for me... so don't worry about that stuff."

jihoon isn't very good with comforting words (but dont get me wrong, he KNOWS what to say, i mean look at his music, but it'd be hard for him to say out loud casually)

he always is straight to the point

but since you're now married, he already knows sometimes just telling you what seems to him as common sense/what's best isn't very helpful

when you're sitting next to each other, he'll put his hand on your thigh at times, and he'd move his thumb soothingly on your skin

he'd hold your hand, but his other hand would be blocking you from paparazzi/dispatch or guiding you carefully somewhere

and i can't stress enough how often his hand would be on your lower back if he wants to guide you somewhere or move you a little (no longer ghosting your back like when you're dating)

imagine you're both leaving his studio

he doesn't even bother making you leave separately and discretely from him for safety purposes like what he used to do while you were dating

but as soon as he notices the camping paparazzi outside of the building, he gently holds your hip and pulls you closer to him

one arm would be around your waist to keep you close

and the other arm would be out, protecting the both of you

you smile at his protectiveness

"ji, it's fine if they take pictures of me."

"yeah, but i don't want them to do anything weird to you."

bonus points if you mirror his positioning so you're protecting him from paparazzi, too (this man would love whenever you reciprocate anything back to him in an innocent, but goofy way)

you'd both be giggling all the way over

but anyway, he walks like that, protecting you until you reach a car to drive off in

he was already protective of you when you were dating, but he's now so much more protective now that you're completely public and official

woozi would be a wonderful husband to someone who deeply understands him and loves him for who he is

he wouldn't necessarily meet booktok stereotypes of a husband, but he'd def be a sweet and protective one that always supports you and what you think is best! 🫶

Daily Dragon #343 - Silver Comet

The Lord of Dragons. A serious, no-nonsense dragon with an unyielding sense of duty in his role to protect all dragons no matter what. He will work with other species to protect his own, but wont hesitate to destroy ANYTHING that harms his people

Another dragon redraw, this time from 2018! I've always been pretty fond of his design, and yet I never really came back to draw him again! I think I've made improvements, but even looking back on the odd choices of the old design, I think it's a very strong design for me in 2018

Daily Dragon #344 - Rainforest Dragon

These slippery dragons love humid conditions and thrive because of the toxic food that grows there. Depending on what they eat, their skin might secrete poison with different properties such as burning or paralyzing!

I'm actually kind of surprised I haven't done a dragon in this style yet for the challenge, but this is a crayon style I used to do a LOT in Clip Studio Paint! I think it looks very cute, and I actually understand CSP more now than I did before. I should use this style more.

Daily Dragon #345 - Bogeyman Dragon

A bogeyman who was born with draconic features such as wings and a prominent tail. However, instead of traditionally elemental breath, this Bogeyman can summon and spit out large orbs made of a sticky substance that stops foes in their tracks!

this was originally a different dragon i decided and didn't like and almost scrapped but figured i could repurpose into a bogeyman :)

bogeymen are my own original species btw if you dont know, i still need to make that ref sheet / style guide for them

Daily Dragon #346 - Bahamuknight

And of course, this funny circle dragon knight guy is the dragon for the day. And I'm finally caught up again! I'm gonna try to keep on top of this for the rest of the challenge since we're so close to the end :)

Also for some more insight, originally I wanted him to have a sword similar to Sol Badguy's, but thought having ANOTHER metaknight with a sword was a bit too easy. Then I tried claws today, but didn't like how they looked on his short arms.

Ultimately I settled on a hook because, hey, Bahamut used to be a fish right? Maybe it'd be cute if the Kirby version of him was also a giant fish or something. Idk

Daily Dragon #347 - Drupesaurus

Also known as Fruit Dragons. These are kind and docile creatures that naturally grow fruits all over their body! The quality and taste of the fruits increases based on how well they're kept and treated! They're very popular in kitchens.

This is a redraw of a dragon from 2019! That year I did a big dragon a month challenge! How far we've come lol.

I actually still think this is one of my strongest dragon designs ever. And this original art might still be better than the new one in some ways

The original was done in MS Paint, if you can believe it! The new one is done in fire alpaca cause it's easier and I'm kind of pressed for time. But I hope you all like the new one regardless :)

Also also, this dragon is 1 of 2 redraw dragons I really wanted to get done in this challenge. The second one, if you can believe it, is somehow more complicated and may be the most complex dragon I've ever made. Oh god...

Daily Dragon #348 - Gaia, the Dragon God

A being incredibly in tune with the planet, feeling all its pain and providing life and protection to it. However, Gaia is an incredibly stubborn and easily angered creature. And will destroy civilizations it deems a threat to earth.

yet ANOTHER redraw dragon (I've got a lot of these for the end of this challenge lol) This is another one from 2019! I think it's a very interesting and unique design even still, with the thick geckolike tail, the bird wings, and the weird throat crystal? But damn its complex lol

Also UGH feathers are so hard to draw, I may never get good at them

These large fishes are born with draconic blood. And as such have thick scales, a hardy helmet with horns, flame breath, and fins that double as wings to fly in the air! They're famous for their taste, their flame sack being a particular delicacy

i heard about winterpine and im curious about it, you mentioned watching some of it (mightve been scrolling through some of your posts)

is it interesting? i was debating checking it out because im curious, and clownpierce is in it, but i dont know what its like or what channel its on. also should i block the tag to avoid spoilers if i start watching it do you think?

Well, I am a ClownPierce fan and I have watched Whitepine so this is as good a place to ask as any! And don't-cha worry, I like answerin' asks all the time! :D

I'm not sure what the Whitepine tag contains right now but it might have certain out-of-context spoilers, like most general fandom tags do, so if that bothers you it might be a good idea to block it — personally I wouldn't, mostly bc the series isn't that long as of right now anyway: it currently has 3 episodes of around half an hour each, more or less (31 minutes & 19 seconds, 32 minutes & 47 seconds and 25 minutes & 34 seconds specifically) and the story is barely starting; there's things to be spoiled about, sure, but nothing too major either. I wouldn't worry about it.

In terms of how interesting it is, however, it depends — personally I thought it'd be better, but it's also because I discovered it through someone who was singing the series some serious praises like it was the second coming of Jesus Christ in Minecraft series form; not the favor he thought he was doing to the series, honestly. The series is a murder mystery period drama with Ivory as its protagonist — Clown does appear but he's not constantly there, so if you wanna watch it expecting Clown to be there all the time, it's probably not for you then. The series also has a lot of lingering shots and silent scenes where not a lot seems to be happening, and it might make the episodes feel longer or a little boring, but it has good cinematography going on, and the character interactions are fun regardless, so there's always that to look forwards to. Ivory is a charismatic, soft-spoken protagonist and is partly what made me stay through the rest of the runtime for the series — it's a decent show all things considered, but because it's barely just starting (the first episode was posted just two months ago, so.) it doesn't have too much meat to its bones yet; if anything, I'm sticking around for Ivory's character, Serapter's, Pyroscythe's and Clown's, plus the intrigue of how IvoryTV (the main storywriter behind Whitepine) is gonna unravel the mystery, not necessarily due to the currently laid out story.

The channel it's being posted to is IvoryTV, though looking up Whitepine on youtube should be enough to find all three episodes — hope this was the answer you sought for! 😊😊

Short stories, novels, or poems?

i started with poetry, so it has a special place in my heart. all of my short stories turn into beasts. is it a cop out answer to say all of the above?

What genre do you prefer reading?

it'd be easier to list what genres i don't like. when i say ill read anything, i mean ill read anything. lately i've been on a sci fi kick (thanks Pierce Brown) but i love a good modern trashy romance as much as the next guy (i read the booktok sludge so you dont have to!) im not really a nonfiction guy but hey, if anyone has some recs, ill give em a shot

Are you a planner or a write as I go kind of person?

def NOT a planner. usually when i start writing i have a vague idea of where we start and where we need to end up, but what happens along the way is a surprise for everyone involved

What music do you listen to while writing?

SILENCE. sometimes white noise. i cant focus with music, brain gets jumbled

Favorite books/movies?

of all time? oh god for books, probably This Is How You Lose the Time War or The Song of Achilles but The Locked Tomb series is def up there. not a novel but i've read Bluets by Maggie Nelson so many times i probably have it memorized by now favorite movie is Zoolander, easy answer. that movie owns. i can watch it on repeat and ill never get sick of it

Any current WIPs?

Dust to Dust is still alive but im taking a bit of a hiatus before hopping into the final bit (tag is here if you wanna see me ramble about it) Felix Wonder is the fun time brain break WIP of choice currently and im working on draft 3 of Burden of the Reluctant Death (we will get to the ending this time. we will)

Elusive, or pretends to be. Too much energy in too small a body. Refuses to sit properly in a chair. Prone to fits of melancholy remedied by sunlight. Easily excitable, but fussy. this really isnt fantasy but i feel like i was destined to be the kind, slightly off-putting maintenance man in a haunted apartment building that says cryptic things like "don't take the east elevator on a full moon" and "the air conditioning has made that noise since the fire in 12B"

yea there's only one bed and ill eat it up every single time!!! also: "i didnt know where else to go" or basically any overdone romance trope you can think of. im here for it

Favorite scene to write?

confession scenes of any kind! scenes where the big tough character breaks down. any kind of emotional revelation, positive or negative

Reason for writing?

words in head, need words out of head ok ok fine, serious answer. i feel like writing is both asking and answering the question, "have you felt like this before? has anyone ever felt like this before? am i alone?" and it's proof that you're not the first and only person to ever experience the things you're experiencing. even this made up guy in this pretend world understands rage and despair and joy and grief and love. the source is different but the result is the same. human connection, man. love it and! it's fun. im having fun

sae has weirdly been my fav blorbo for a long time but when considering his type I've come to realise that he probably wouldn't be into nerdy or not conventionally pretty girls. + I don't think that sae is the type to commit at all like. he's just there to fuck around and then leave and if anything the fb trope would be more fitting for his character (imo). and everytime I read fluff about him it's just so ooc to me I can't help it 😭 I mean he does have a lot of toxic traits and could be considered 'a horrible person' but yea idk you always have this deep analysis of characters I was wonder what you'd think about sae and this topic specifically haha hope I didn't bother

i disagree with this characterization of him for a lot of reason

i don't pay a lot of attention to what the fanon interpretation of sae is and im sure this aligns with his image but i dont personally think that this assessment of his character makes a lot of sense. i do understand where it comes from though !!!

i believe that a lot of this miscommunication of his characterization stems from his relationship to rin, but i've broken that down as to why i don't think sae hates rin. in fact in his own way i think he views his own harsh behavior as a way to shield rin from reality (though it had the opposite of his intended affect) i also don't believe that sae is a vapid or shallow player off-field, and that's largely in contrast to his personality before he left for spain and after.

sae is always viewed to be cold, blunt, and serious but he is also deeply affectionate of rin in their adolescence. his major change happens while we're overseas and while we don't know yet what happened specifically - it's clear to me that something borderline traumatic happened. this type of change of character through rigorous training happens to kunigami through the wildcard system and this type of betrayal that leads to betterment is a theme in bluelock as well (i.e. nagireo)

im of the belief that saes arrogance and crass way of speaking developed largely as a defense mechanism as his goal of being a striker was shattered through playing in spain. in the same way kunigami views being a "hero" through soccer as a stupid ideal post wildcard.

sae is a normal guy outside of soccer. he even says that one of his major flaws is that he's pretty clueless about everything other than soccer. his least favorite food is fries, not because he hates the taste but because he can't have them because of his nutrition restrictions. his 'fetish' is ass because he thinks it can show what kind of an athlete someone is. all somewhat silly and ultimately regular things

all that being said - i don't think sae is a shallow person. i think he thinks very deeply and logically about a lot of things and he is indefinitely arrogant, but not shallow which is why i think it wouldn't make sense for him to judge on appearance. it'd be more accurate to assume that he's sort of dense and doesn't pay attention to people who aren't in his immediate circle. the assumption that he would make judgements on your appearance if you're just a regular joe-schmo doesn't quite connect to me. he's not insecure enough to do that.

on the issue of commitment - my only opinion is that sae is a character who values independence of sense of individualism in his partners. anyone with a strong sense of self is someone he is drawn to. this is why he likes isagi and shidou and often reprimands rin because he lacks a sense of selfhood and self confidence. rin only realizes that post the u20 match.

my point being that i think sae can and will commit to somebody but there's a lot more factors for a character like him that others like isagi or chigiri or kunigami who are naturally emotionally in tune with you.

sae isn't and will never be a 'romantic' person in the traditional sense to me but i don't think it means he's incapable of love or commitment. he has a hard time communicating verbally and saying things to your face but he remembers everything you said from your last conversation and pay attention to your hobbies. if you argue, you'll always find a vase of flowers in your kitchen with a note but you always have to call first. he's not Good about the emotional aspect because even if he puts in a lot of effort - it's never going to come naturally to him

BUT that also means if you're able to meet him half-way he's a committed and decent lover to you. he tries really hard to be and it takes some patience because he's sometimes too logical and hurts your feelings but he's there where it matters etc.

this is an essay SORRY KFDHJKSD. ive spent a lot of time thinking about him and giving him depth. and im not defending him necessarily because he is a massive douchebag for a lot of your early relationship. just not for shallow or petty reasons. simply bad at coping with his emotions and expressing himself because he's very prideful

Whats your thoughts on Mami Tomoe in general? I dont like PMMM but Mami does interest me alot as a character concept: a veteran MG who took other, younger MGs under her wings to guide them; whom sees enough shits in her time that shes gone somewhat unstable but keep up a facade of cheerfulness to comfort her students. Im intending to create a character using this concept as well.

I wanted my character to have her Happy Ending - the rest of her younger teammates as well. I think it'd be rather ironic to base her on a dark MG while she belongs to a lighhearted Magical girl story. Shes still in a vague designing state, with a concept and some basic traits and backstory. I wanted to her to be a MG veteran who saw some serious shits during her younger days too, but with help from her mascot (who is not the bad guy in this story) and eventually the MGs whom shes teaching, shes healing from her past traumas and is on the road to a beautiful future.

I know there are other MGs from other shows that are good mentors for their team, but weirdly enough Mami was the first one who introduce me to this concept (PMMM was also the one to introduce me to the Maho Shojo gerne, but I dont like it so I evetually follow Pretty Cure instead, best choice ive ever made) so shes the one I pick to base my character on. Mostly for the ironic part.

I absolutely adore her. I even had a sideblog entirely dedicated to her back when this account got temporarily deleted, just to have any idea of how much I loved her. Heck, one of my self-inserts was inspired by her, too.

One of the many reasons why I love Mami could dial back to Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon's Kino Makoto/Sailor Jupiter. A strong yet sensitive girl who has lost her parents on a tragic accident and now craves the feeling of a family with the friends she makes.

Mami is indeed a fascinating character herself, and I think her death, while understandably haunting the narrative afterwards at least, was very disrespectful (she died in the span of ONE episode! Right after she debuted!) and the jokes that were relentlessly cracked by everyone and their mother for 10+ years are not funny at all.

Imagine if I were to crack jokes about Flapjack's death. You guys wouldn't like them, would you?

No, you guys wouldn't like them. It'd be cruel and done in bad taste.

Anyways, back to Mami...

She's the cool and experienced onee-san/senpai type of character, approachable and friendly; she's skilled and graceful, plus with an epic theme tune to boot. Of course, her calm and collected persona is just a mask that hides how terribly lonesome and scared she is. To quote Bebe in The Rebellion Story:

"Mami is a real crybaby. She gets lonely super-easy; I know, I know."

Homura's description is more in-depth, though:

"She would always put on a strong front and push herself too hard, despite having the softest heart of any of us."

This vulnerability of hers is more explored in Magia Record, though. She joins the Wings of Magius so she could help in finding a cause to save her friends from despairing and becoming Witches, as she feels guilty for dragging them into such a hostile world.

Except that the WoM's methods were very cultish, thus causing her to be brainwashed and used as a puppet, distance herself from the ones she was supposed to guide and protect, and when she'd be challenged by outsiders, she'd quickly lose her cool.

Turns out that no matter the timeline/universe, Tomoe Mami will always be the first one to crack at the revelation.

And I like that, because it makes her morally grey, which it's something quite rare in the Magical Girl genre. She wants to save her friends, but she has participated in dangerously unorthodox methods to achieve such an end.

Anyways, I've been rambling about Mami for too long, that I've forgotten your concept. Sorry! Your idea is amazing! My followers having galaxy-brained suggestions, as always!

who would you consider your favorite side character and what ships do you like?

i loooove totoko... sorry for the boring answer i just love girls who suck. i love how she's just as horrible and pathetic as the boys, the way she and oso both uniquely cling to childhood dynamics and how their refusal to let go of the past and move forward put them uniquely on the same wavelength and able to understand each other, like when oso calls her out in "cutie next door" or their heart-to-heart in sakura......

there's something very cutes to me abt her going "the fish idol thing isnt selling- but i'm the daughter of fishmongers, so i have to stick with it!" and her refusing to give up the fish shtick even when it'd make her more popular.. i think it's cute... she's a family girl....

also im just a sucker for childhood friends idk!!!! i just think it's so cuuuutes... i really like how they all interact w her in the jra horse racing special, and smth abt ichimatsu also fawning over her despite it clashing w his personality it's like.... i cant really articulate this i love childhood friends i love dynamics that change yet stay the same into adulthood

along that line for ships: i do loooove osototo. smth abt it is like cocomelon to my brain. brat x brat. you two should stay together so no one else is subjected to you etc. i think totty/atsushi and ichi/yanagita are extremely funny yaois but i dont take them that serious. atsutotty especially to me is valuable as a versatile punchline. a classic totty accidentally reveals he has a boyfriend and they all yell at him for being too secretive and "how can you not tell yourbrothers you like MEN" and kara is like "Heh... I Am Also Of.. The Bi Sexual Natur" and everyone ignores him to keep asking totty about what kind of credit card atsushi has kind of deal
