i heard about winterpine and im curious about it, you mentioned watching some of it (mightve been scrolling through some of your posts)

is it interesting? i was debating checking it out because im curious, and clownpierce is in it, but i dont know what its like or what channel its on. also should i block the tag to avoid spoilers if i start watching it do you think?

Well, I am a ClownPierce fan and I have watched Whitepine so this is as good a place to ask as any! And don't-cha worry, I like answerin' asks all the time! :D

I'm not sure what the Whitepine tag contains right now but it might have certain out-of-context spoilers, like most general fandom tags do, so if that bothers you it might be a good idea to block it — personally I wouldn't, mostly bc the series isn't that long as of right now anyway: it currently has 3 episodes of around half an hour each, more or less (31 minutes & 19 seconds, 32 minutes & 47 seconds and 25 minutes & 34 seconds specifically) and the story is barely starting; there's things to be spoiled about, sure, but nothing too major either. I wouldn't worry about it.

In terms of how interesting it is, however, it depends — personally I thought it'd be better, but it's also because I discovered it through someone who was singing the series some serious praises like it was the second coming of Jesus Christ in Minecraft series form; not the favor he thought he was doing to the series, honestly. The series is a murder mystery period drama with Ivory as its protagonist — Clown does appear but he's not constantly there, so if you wanna watch it expecting Clown to be there all the time, it's probably not for you then. The series also has a lot of lingering shots and silent scenes where not a lot seems to be happening, and it might make the episodes feel longer or a little boring, but it has good cinematography going on, and the character interactions are fun regardless, so there's always that to look forwards to. Ivory is a charismatic, soft-spoken protagonist and is partly what made me stay through the rest of the runtime for the series — it's a decent show all things considered, but because it's barely just starting (the first episode was posted just two months ago, so.) it doesn't have too much meat to its bones yet; if anything, I'm sticking around for Ivory's character, Serapter's, Pyroscythe's and Clown's, plus the intrigue of how IvoryTV (the main storywriter behind Whitepine) is gonna unravel the mystery, not necessarily due to the currently laid out story.

The channel it's being posted to is IvoryTV, though looking up Whitepine on youtube should be enough to find all three episodes — hope this was the answer you sought for! 😊😊

ayup art blog i need to ramble a tad before i head off i LOVE the ways minecraft can be used as a medium for storytelling. there are so many things; dream smp, whitepine (which is awesome btw check it out if you haven't - it's just getting started), fable smp, the life series, lifesteal - haven't watched it but ive heard a lot about it it's all so interesting to me one thing ive always liked about dream smp specifically is the way it wasn't made to be a lore smp - it started off as just a fun survival server with friends and over time people made characters and stories and expanded on things and the fandom came out with amazing aus, artwork, animations, songs - it's absolutely incredible what can be created out of a source material. the fact that there were so many things in both the dsmp fandom and other fandoms that were enjoyed by people who had never seen the source material and knew almost nothing about it - passerine, man. passerine was and still is absolutely incredible. it's definitely one of the most memorable fanfictions to come out of the dream smp fandom that ive seen. there's so many others too that i may not have personally read but ive heard a lot about - bones in the ocean (?) is one of them there's something so cool to me as well about having multiple perspectives to watch something from - there's no main character because everyone is the main character in their pov. of course, on dsmp there ended up being a sort of "main storyline" in which tended to focus on tommy, tubbo, dream, etc. but there were so many other stories going on at the same time. i was personally most invested in the "main storyline" but i could recite bits of various characters' lore there's no other medium i can think of that can do something like that. shows may have a plots, b plots - but it's nothing like this. it's such an incredible, unexpected medium for storytelling and ive personally created some of, if not my favourite ocs through minecraft. storytelling through minecraft and other games has been such a big thing to me and i truly hope it continues to be that for people okay, thank you blog and goodbye (for now until i have more art) !

Guys, I found a series on YouTube called Whitepine, and I need to write something for it. I know this might not be the most common interest or the most popular thing I've written, which is absolutely fine, but if anyone is also interested and wants to check this fic out, I'd appreciate that. I really respect this series, specifically Ivory, because I can relate to her in some ways. And the series does a fantastic job at portraying things, specifically dissociation, and I think that's really cool.

The Darkness Hummed

There was something about the woods on the edge of the property, the way they looked back as Ivory looked at them from one of the windows of the estate, inviting her almost.

"Take a walk, breathe, let me hold you, come home."

That's what it was saying, or it probably actually wasn't out loud to anyone else, but that's what it was telling her.

And Ivory was good, easy, people pleaser, footstool, someone who obeyed.

When a person of the house, be it the Hemlocks or otherwise, asked her of something, she listened, and she followed.

When the forest asked her something in a similar manor, she listened much the same, and she followed.

The further she walked, the more the woods talked.

The closer she got to the ledge of the forest, the more she felt the trees hold her in a hug.

The deeper she walked into the woods, the closer to something like home it felt.

The forest was talking to Ivory, sentences that were more just noise bouncing off each corner and inch of her mind than actual than actual words, sounds that were there all the time but it was louder than ever before each time she looked from a window or from the lawn of Whitepine estate.

The forest was singing, humming more like, and come to think of it, it may not be the forest at all.

One of the other maids of the house, Div, she thought their name was maybe.

They wore a uniform the same as Ivory's; black pants, a long sleeved mahogany shirt, and a muddy colored apron.

Their hair was just a tad wavy and dark, almost black, with a lighter streak from the peak of their head and diagonally across to the end of their bangs, and they were wearing a butterfly hair clip.

Div was sitting on a log fallen on its side, feet dangling and kicking occasionally, still humming nonsensically.

They had not noticed Ivory standing almost behind a tree opposite them, or perhaps they had and did not care or mind, she figured it was okay to stay and let their hums add to the symphony of static in her head for a few moments.
