i've seen a lot of different takes on post-canon anya's career/life over the years in various fics, so i was wondering...
#anastasia#anastasia broadway#anastasia musical#dimya#before y'all yell at me for only including traditionally 'feminine' jobs:#i just think she would benefit from playing with children or spending time with other women after the trauma she has endured okay!!#she needs girly girls to hang out with and women to look up to!!#and the last one i feel like we needed a government work option#idk if she would choose that instead of staying anonymous and off the radar#but i do think she would be passionate about helping refugees#as one herself#so i feel like it's a plausible option#but yeah i included what i've seen the most of#in canonverse fics anyway#modern au is a whole different story aklsdhf

—in which turians gossip.
Have you heard about Castis Vakarian's youngest?
His son? Yeah. Apparently he got detention again. It's the fifth time this week. I don't know why that child keeps talking back. It's like he has no respect for authority.
Well, they'll beat that out of him at bootcamp. He'll fall in line eventually.
Why can't he just be normal? All the other kids his age understand this already. Maybe something's wrong with him...
I wonder. He's not growing up into a good turian... Poor Castis.
Have you heard about Castis Vakarian's son?
--
Yes. What a waste. I heard he ranked at the very top in all sharpshooting and hand to hand combat tests... and all of that for nothing.
What's wrong with him?
He will never make a good turian.
Spirits, poor Castis. First the accident, and now that son of his...
--
What about his son? I thought he was normal now. Didn't he find a job, outside the military?
He did. Citadel Security, like his father. Easier outlet for that... passion of his. You know. All that talk of justice and right and wrong... Castis hoped working at C-Sec would help him get it out of his system. Start being normal. Maybe he would finally burn through that... energy.
Did it work?
He's constantly fighting with his superiors. Disobeying orders. Questioning their judgement. I hear he's just as much trouble out there as he ever was down here.
I don't envy Castis right now. Hearing about your son constantly failing at the job you excelled at... It's got to do something to you.
Have you heard about Castis Vakarian's son? I heard he actually quit C-Sec now. Couldn't even conform to that. Now he's left the Citadel on a whim, with some human, on an impulse...
--
Poor Castis.
Poor Castis.
I heard Castis Vakarian's son was part of that mess at the Citadel, with the geth.
--
Apparently he's aiming to be a Spectre now. I don't know how his father is going to take that.
I wouldn't want to be in his plates right now.
Have you heard about Castis Vakarian's son? He dropped out of the Spectre training program.
--
Have you heard? He's gone mad.
I heard he finally snapped. Had some sort of identity crisis, left spirits know where without saying anything.
I suppose it was always a matter of time. There's always been something wrong with that boy. Still, his poor family...
Have you heard about Castis Vakarian's son?
--
Have you heard about Castis Vakarian? Yeah, he has kis kids staying over.
I heard. Just when you think it couldn't get any worse. Working with a terrorist organisation. Human supremacists, too... I can't imagine what his father's going through right now.
--
I heard it's a difficult family situation, yes. The mother's dying, and he... At least he still has his daughter, not like that good for nothing son of his.
Have you seen him? What a disgrace. Half his body covered in scars like that. Wearing his failures right on his face... His family must be so ashamed.
Heard he's saying he's fallen in love with an alien. A human of all species.
Disgusting.
That's just adding insult to injury. His poor family.
Poor Castis.
Have you heard about Castis Vakarian's son?
--
Isn't he the one in charge of that refugee camp on the Citadel? Who even decided to put him in a leadership role?
I don't know. I heard he's friends with the new Primarch. I heard he failed upwards. I heard he's in an important position now, in charge of helping with that war summit.
This damn war. They'll promote anyone as long as they're still alive.
--
--
--
Have you seen? Commander Shepard's written a private account about the Reaper War. Have you read this?
--
Incredible.
Heartwarming.
Inspiring.
Unbelievable.
Beautiful.
She wrote about Garrus Vakarian.
They were close. He was her lieutenant. Her closest aide. Her best friend.
He held her up when she stumbled. He asked her to take care of herself. He checked in with her. He cared. When everyone else saw the Commander, he was the only one who saw a person. He was the only one who asked how she was doing. He was the only one who supported her.
She wrote about everything he did for her.
He's the only reason she had the strength to win that war.
He saved the world.
--
--
Have you heard about Castis Vakarian?
--
You mean Garrus Vakarian's father? Yeah. I heard. He must be so proud.

The brainrot continues to grow by the minute….so here we are again lovey. After re-reading a lot of your blog last night when the insomnia hit me live laugh love.
I remembered you did a series with poly!moonwater about reader being pregnant and ect. So I was wondering what would be your headcannons for poly wolfstar pregnancy in terms of shy reader/the refugee type character in between gentle yet dominant Remus and loyal, protective, possessive Sirius type vibes.
awwwweeeee yes okay
wolfstar x shy/referee!reader headcanons for their pregnancy
Sirius:
freaks, like, catastrophic level 9 freak out
runs to Effie and Monty sobbing; begging them to help him, begging them to tell him what to do because he can't be like them - he just can't
has to show back up at your shared home a few days later with his tail tucked between his legs at having fled [will explain below in Remus] - sooooo super emotional
spends a lot of time with Effie and Monty - buys a lot of pregnancy, parenting, and baby books
quits his jobs and starts babysitting Harry (wants practice)
becomes a bit of a nuisance for reader; little bit of a coddler, doesn't want reader even walking, won't let her get up to get her own drinks, everyone who comes over has to hand sanitize and show proof that they're healthy ("what do you mean proof!? You want to check my tonsils??" "......yes Prongs, now say ahhh."), starts a sleep schedule for reader - encourages her to take a nap every afternoon
cries a lot lol - both from excitement and nerves
Remus:
he has to become the referee between reader and Sirius
constantly defending Sirius to you when he hovers too much or seems to worried "he just loves you and is trying to do his best, dove", but also has to tell Sirius when he's being too much and to back off "you're going to put her into early labour, Pads."
lets Sirius thinking he's handling everything but really, Remus is the one actually making sure reader is all good and healthy - prenatal vitamins, adds supplements to meals/food for extra nutrients, books all of the OBGYN appointments, tells Sirius that reader "has to walk because it's good for her and baby ffs"
starts visiting his mum and dad for tea more frequently; Hope sends him home every time with more of his old baby clothes, blankets, quilts she's made, his baby pictures, etc etc.
reads baby books as well, but mostly about infant development (wants his baby to be the smartest lol)
plays voice of reason
reader:
far feistier than usual (not her usual shy, placid self)
spends most of her pregnancy handing Sirius' ass to him and he is swooning (might just have to put more babies into her.....)
Remus does take over your role as referee but can't help but admit how much he likes seeing you so passionate
very worried; never saw kids in the cards for these three (Sirius with his family trauma and Remus with his affliction) and I think she'd spend most of her pregnancy sort of waiting for the other shoe to drop......like, maybe today's the day they'll leave? one more emotional breakdown made by her and they're definitely going to pack their bags (which makes her emotional breakdowns worse)
Remus has to take her to the healer for anxiety medication because of it
It makes for a lot of really sweet conversations and moments between the three of them though - the boys reassuring reader and just cuddling for the rest of the day

there’s a few potential sansa romantic endgames that i think have some textual basis and i think all of them come with a lot of issues wrt sansa being able to publically claim these relationships which is why i think sansa will say her children are “fathered by a wolf” because regardless of Who she’s with or even the legality of it, she’s going to be actively concealing their identity AND YET she needs to have children.
i think especially that even though arya’s love life is guaranteed to be less complicated, sansa will feel obligated to take this “burden” of ensuring their line onto herself; she wants arya to have the freedom to go where she pleases, be with who she pleases, and follow her passions and that is not easy to do if everyone is expecting you to come home and start popping out kids. I consider them a sort of reflection of ned and lyanna in this way in that sansa, second born and not meant to rule, uses her newfound power to let the wild, youngest girl (but not youngest child) in the family follow her passions wherever they may take her.
this is all kind of weird with the nixed time jump but considering that george has talked about writing stories from arya’s pov about her adventures, I think it’s going to be fairly important in story regardless of their ages that arya will attempt to offer to stay home and marry and have children as a way of helping to protect sansa’s very shaky claim on winterfell but that sansa encourages arya to do whatever she wants. to travel, to help shepherd the boatloads of refugees from the various wars to wherever they want to call home, to settle displaced northerners in other parts of westeros as well, to get involved in the lives of the people arya is helping and agree to help them liberate their own homes by using her skills (crucial here that arya is A leader but not the SOLE leader), or to go out into the woods and be a secret not-quite-an-outlaw (bc sansa isn’t outlawing anything that could hurt arya’s lil crusades, probably is helping bankroll arya) to bring justice to the smallfolk, like whatever it is arya wants to do with her life, the point is that she offers to give it up and sansa refuses to take the offer.
and then we have the idea that her kids are fathered by a wolf. not elizabeth-ing herself here exactly because she’s having children but never publicly acknowledging a father or a husband or even a lover.
i think the candidates most likely are jon snow and theon, with both brienne and podrick as like “i’m not saying he’s gonna do it but i am saying they make a lot of sense narratively” and aegon vi as a huge long shot but still undeniable contender. if briensa does go canon everyone owes me five bucks each tho. i think the options other people float are not just wildly unserious they also clearly don’t think sansa will be The Ruling Lady Of Winterfell, but some much more minor or less emotionally resonant title and i just do not vibe with that shit at all. harry the heir, sandor, sweetrobin, tyrion, littlefucker, like never mind sansa never once showing any real interest in these guys and NONE of these dudes being satisfied by the idea of being her secret husband, if sansa says to arya “yeah i’m marrying tyrion” arya is going “blink twice if you’re being held hostage and you need me to kill him” but it’s too late because jon snow is already unsheathing longclaw and bran is attacking with every raven in winterfell. it’s not fucking happening and imo it’s unserious to pretend like it could happen in canon. (and if it DOES happen in canon you will find me rocking up to george’s house in jersey and demanding to know why he’s so weird about teenage girls). i think margaery is a huge long shot here (and not just bc it would make them both canonically on screen gay) because i don’t think she’s gonna live to the ending, and jeyne poole is too traumatized at this point in time for me to feel confident in putting her in the same category as brienne and pod.
(theon’s trauma is WHY i think he’s still a contender - post reek theon is going to struggle a lot with figuring out where he’s supposed to be, who he’s supposed to be, and who he can trust as he puts himself back together, and that lends itself nicely to the idea of a secret husband/lover imo. once again, we are talking extreme trauma bonding here - that’s just the only way i see sansa’s romances going).
if you’re asking “who do you think arya is winding up with” it’s gendry. i don’t doubt that there were some plans for edric dayne, arya, and gendry but i think gendry was always going to be her great love here, that she’s always going to turn down the idea of marriage to him but gendry doesn’t care so long as they are still together. there’s a neon blinking sign over gendry’s head that says “endgame material” and i think it’s unserious to pretend it’s not there too!!
#again my conspiracy here is that he can’t do all the rhaegar/lyanna/robert/ned/ashara/cat paralleling he would like and it’s thrown him off#that’s my rant of the day aksjdj#getting on my soap box#theonsa#jonsa#briensa#jeynsa#what’s the pod sansa name i always forget#the sun and moon in endless chase

Mormon Mommy Bloggers 2: Ballerina Farms Boogaloo
Since everyone is giving their thoughts on Ballerina Farms, and Mormonism by extension, let me step up to the mic. Especially because I'm an LDS woman that everyone seems to think they're experts on now.
I'm so tired of having to answer for the choices of other LDS women I don't know. I'm tired of them speaking for me. I'm tired of them making spectacles of their choices at the expense of other women, especially when they have so much wealth and privilege to be who they are. I'm tired of their "brand" being something I have to answer for as an LDS women.
Hannah Neeleman is nothing like the rest of us. She's nothing like most of us.
She's no different than every other LDS Mommy blogger who has been exploiting her kids for content in our community since the Aughties. She's not unique.
She was quoted in The Times article as saying she wants other people to have what she has? She thinks that's even a feasible option for the vast majority of LDS women?
Who's buying the land? The livestock? And everything that goes with it?
Not me. Not any other LDS woman I know.
There are so many incredible, important things that passionate LDS women do to serve their communities. But because they don't look like her and have her money to create the platform she has, you'll never know their names.
Did people forget that being a social media influencer is a pay-to-play system at this point? Y'all think she did anything differently?
She is a caricature of femininity that is a total fantasy being sold to y'all as part of an agenda to fund her lifestyle.
I can list off so many other influencers like her in our community who have come and gone from making all the same choices and mistakes that she's currently making. Knock off Ree Drummond doesn't even compare to some of the other LDS creators in her genre. If you want someone who broke this mold, go look up Stephanie Nielson of NieNie Dialogues. She survived a plane crash that permanently altered her appearance and had to find self-worth outside of traditional beauty standards. I never cared much for her content either, but she at least has something more interesting to say than "I'm pretty and rich and have a lot of kids." And that's before we even touch the totally valid criticisms of Daniel Neeleman and how poorly he treats his wife on camera.
I don't know if anyone walked him through the Mormon Mommy Blogger formula, but a necessary part of it is wish fulfillment for the audience, including a doting and respectful husband who would never dream of embarrassing or humiliating his wife. It's supposed to be an exercise in generating envy for everything his wife gets from being a stay-at-home mother—not what it's costing her because of him. That seems to be their only unique contribution to the genre, which is not the Mormon Mommy Blogger recipe for success. That's Shaycarl. You want to talk about the saddest "Where are they now?" Google search I just did to see if they're even still married. That tea is stone cold now. Nevertheless, it's still more interesting than watching a woman dancing ballet in a cow pasture (rather than at Juilliard) because her husband doesn't prioritize or respect her.
But I digress.
The press wants someone truly interesting to talk to? I can get them in contact with Artisans of Hope, a charity being run by LDS women in Idaho. They teach sewing and crafting skills to refugees, helping them become financially self-reliant in a new country. I can introduce them to the real work the bipartisan LDS community is doing to settle refugees all over Boise.
But no. Let's all have the same tired, ignorant conversation we've been having about Mommy bloggers since 2009. Because it was never about Hannah Neeleman. That's the sad thing she doesn't seem to realize.
People are only interested in talking about LDS women to make us look like indoctrinated freak shows. It's a very old form of misogyny that has been around since the 1840s.
The press has lifted her up specifically to make her a spectacle to the rest of the world, to laugh at her. And it's the dumbest thing in the world, I'm tired of seeing it, and tired of watching the public fall for it again and again.

Hope ur doing fine! But I wanted to ask if u could do a Starfire solo how would u think itd go?
hmmmm. depends on which version of starfire? im gonna guess tt03 version
i feel like dc really doesnt know what to do with her. does she stay on earth? does she go back to space? outside of tt, her relationships stem from her home planet. so we always see something involving her sister and brother.
i'd like to see her grow to love earth tendencies more. exploring the planet and learning about different cultures. i love how sweet and passionate she is. but i wouldnt mind if the naive veil on earth gets pulled and she realizes earth has it's flaws too. There would be this mix of disgust, anger and dissappoinment to know that place she calls home also does the same thing to it's own people like what happen to her people (slavery, abuse, etc.) so i can see her getting involved to put a stop to that. while she's one of the members to be first to enter space, her role on earth would be to help refugees.
also she is the power of the sun. i havent read many comics and dont know the extend of her abilities. but id love for her to have a point that would be called "supernova" where her emotions take over and she comes a blinding light of rage that's too hot to go near. (and maybe her primary color green or pink turns to white?)
#rambling haha#im not sure honestly im sure other people have come up with more exciting things#it's hard bc it's either TT characters or her siblings she is always attached to#maybe she needs some of original characters in her story to help?#idk!!#punni talks

The Secret Garden
For @jewsinfandoms 3rd prompt "Past and Future", a short story about Newt.
It started in a garden. No, not that one, humans hadn't been there in a long time, and there is no telling when, if at all, they would come back.
This story is about another garden, a much smaller and less known one, tucked away between a cinema and a church. This story is about a place nestled in London's back alleys, and the kid who found there their refugee.
The thing is, Newton had a burning and totally unrequited passion for things electrical. He watched in amazement at the new digital billboards in the streets, was fascinated by the showcases who proudly displayed the latest televisions, and visited the radio shop with reverence others keep for holy places.
Sadly, the billboards flickered and die if he looked at them for too long, as well as the televisions. Even the radio shop had limited the areas he was allowed to explore, after one too many "experiments" that went wrong.
As much as he loved technology, sometimes he just wanted to sit in a place where he could be himself. Somewhere he could move freely, without having to be careful about his next step. So, when he found a quiet place, without electricity that he might ruin, he sat gratefully on an unoccupied bench and tried to relax before going out to the main street again.
"What are you doing here, kid?"
The short feeling of freedom was interrupted, and Newt hurried to open his eyes and find an old and angry looking person looking at him. "Sorry, sir, I just needed a place to rest."
"Where are your friends? Hiding somewhere, planning to vandalize the garden?"
"I… don't have friends."
Something softened in the man's face. "Is that so? Well, you better take that shovel and start tending to the flower bench".
Newt hurried to do as he was told, this time, without fear he would break something. He worked there until night had fallen and it was too dark to see, busy with one task or another, until the man said it was time to leave the garden.
Several days had passed before Newt thought of the garden, and tried to return to it. It had taken him several weeks to realise he did not remember where exactly it was, and several more years until he gave up the search completely.
By then he was a grown up, with grown-ups problems. Finding work had been challenging, saving the world even more troublesome, and having a girlfriend, for the first time in his life… Well, that was a whole new experience.
When Anathema and he walked the streets of London together for the first time, many years later, he was too happy with her company to see anything else. Only her joyful cry when she spotted a bench brought him back to reality, and he saw that at last, after all those years, he returned to the garden he spent so long looking for.
A man appeared in front of them, even though he could have sworn the garden was empty just a few seconds ago. Something about him looked familiar, but once the man ordered him to pick up a shovel he remembered.
"How… How can it be?"
Anathema looked at him, smiling. Newt had told her about his search for the lost garden, and now she understood. "Should have known it was you, Crowley, who helped Newt all those years ago."
"Not helped," spluttered the demon. "Exploited! He worked 'til he had blisters!"
"Of course, how could I think otherwise. How can I help?"
The rest of the day passed quickly, filled with hard work and laughter. And this time, when Newt left the garden, he knew he could always find the way back.

For the OC ask meme:
🧋🪞🔮🍒🕰️💌
for any combination of Remidee, Alexandria, or Sunset :3
WAHOOOOOOOOOO oh thank you so much. you know i love designing alternate outfits and coming up with random scenarios i'll never use again xoxoxo
some of yours other people asked for too, so i'll hold off on answering them!
🪞 (Mirror) - What would their Mirror World counterpart be like? If they are a Mirror World counterpart, what traits of theirs are reflected? Do the two of them get along?
for context, because i dont think people outside of artfight know much of remidee, they're an apothecary who deals minorly in fighting and magic as an aspiration. due to how injuries work in my mirrorverse, traditional medicine is in extremely low demand and basically not needed. mirror!remidee has leaned almost totally into being a fighter as a result. coincidentally enough, this also reflects regular remidee's worst insecurities for reasons that are a bit too wordy to explain right now
after the fall of shadow dedede's monarchy, they found themself in mirror floralia as a refugee. they're not as good as fighting as the rest of the army, but the queen isnt one to turn away someone so loyal and ready to dedicate themself to the kingdom. officially theyre in the army as a fighter of the same level of the sectra dees, but really theyve been designated as just the guy that brings the banner into battle
mir!remidee would scare the absolute hell out of regular remidee, for reasons they couldn't quite place, even though mir!remidee is actually quite nice. it's the existential dread, remidee....
🕰️ (Clock) - What would a Dreamy Gear version of them look like? What sort of accessories would they have? What kind of role do they play?
on the other end of the spectrum, dreamy gear remidee has leaned fully into being an apothecary, considering there's no need for fighting and magic is extremely rare. they keep a pretty nice shop in the town of wind (<novel lore, for you folks who don't know). they seem richer than the other residents or overly-well off at first glance, but medicinal ingredients are very difficult to get a hold of in this setting, and they're quite passionate about their work, so they have a lot of high quality supplies
dg sunset is a carrier pigeon, basically. child of single dad manager dedede, they help deliver mail. though they have a habit of getting into trouble more often than not on the job while jumping from rooftop to rooftop. remidee has a sense of disdain for dedede in this universe thanks to sunset's shenanigans
🍒 (Cherry) - Out of all of the Dream Friends [Kirby included], which ones would they get along with the most? The least?
Sunset: i don't hc the mirror counterparts to be related to or have familial relations with their regular counterparts, but dmk would definitely be the fun uncle to sunset. both magolor and taranza get a thumbs down from her, not because of their past crimes, but simply because she thinks they're "kinda weird and annoying"
Remidee: i swear to god this has absolutely nothing to do with my own affinity for zan but remidee admires zan a lot. combining elemental magic with weaponry is notoriously hard in my universe, requiring a lot of skill and control to do. remidee is practicing spearplay and electric/beam magic, so this lines up very well. marx scares remidee a lot.
Alexandria: alexandria doesnt get any friends for reasons relating to her Themes. but im sure shed be extremely fond of kirby himself. gooey too i think! she also keeps her distaste for people well hidden, or is quite open minded--it's difficult to tell, so nothing for the "gets along with the least" part of the question either.
🔮 (Crystal Ball) - Out of all the treasures in the Great Cave Offensive, Kirby is letting your OC pick one from his stash to keep! Which one do they pick, and why?
#asks#kachikirby#dgp askgame#implied metadede#heyyy first main blog sunset mention from me! tyty kachi for remembering them dfkjghskdjgh that means a ton#theyre a metadede kid yeah but they arent canon to my verse#and generally i dont care to post abt them under normal circumstances kdfhgs#long post#my art#remidee#lady alexandria#oc: sunset

I think a lot of people would laugh if I said Padmé was attracted to Anakin's maturity, but when he's not showing off or being selfish, he can be very mature indeed. In fact it's these moments of maturity that lead his teachers to wrongly assume he's responsible enough to pursue a relationship with Padmé without letting it interfere with his Jedi commitments
I'm certain Padmé was attracted to Anakin for his maturity. She saw him as the "boy she knew on Tatooine" and the only way to have that idea broken is by showing him as a grown-up, as someone who is intelligent and has mature thoughts about things. And I think there's a scene in aotc where she does.
It's the scene where she and Anakin are travelling to Naboo as refugees, and she asks him about what it's like to be a Jedi and whether or not he can love people, since she believes it to be forbidden.
Anakin's response is incredibly deep, and thought out, and mature: "Attachment is forbidden. Possession is forbidden. Compassion, which I would define as unconditional love, is essential to a Jedi's life. So you might say that... We are encouraged to love."
He proves then and there that he knows the rules, and that he has his own reasoning for them, his own "philosophical" understanding of them. Personally I really love the "which I would define as" part, because it shows he's been thinking about it long and hard (perhaps as a means for self-justification because he doesn't fit the actual dogma).
Her reply is looking at him with the most loving eyes, the first way she looks at him like that, and saying "You've changed so much". This is the first time she sees him as someone grown, as someone she has to learn to know because she actually doesn't know him anymore, she knew the kid he used to be, not the grown guy he is now.
It's a shame the scenes where they visit Padmé's family were deleted because I feel they show a more relaxed, young adult Padmé who has parents and an older sister that treat her like the daughter and younger sister Padmé is, and Anakin acting as a grown person who offers a bit of reassurance and comfort to Padmé's concerned relatives, and wants to make a good impression. It makes their dynamic, them rediscovering each other (Anakin seeing Padmé not as a queen or as a woman who has an ambitious political career, but a girl with parents and a sister; and Padmé seeing Anakin the way her parents and sister do: a young man who clearly has passionate feelings for her) much more organic and natural.
However I don't really agree with the idea that his teachers "allow" (or, rather, look away from) his relationship with Padmé because of his maturity. I don't think they really consider their relationship at all. Obi-Wan does, but he turns a blind eye because he loves Anakin and knows Padmé makes him happy. Not because he thinks Anakin is mature. As for the rest, e.g. Windu or Yoda, I don't think they know Anakin and Padmé are together, and if they do I don't think they care. Anakin is their biggest asset during the war, he's the poster boy, a beloved general, the hero with no fear. Forcing him to leave the Order in the midst of a conflict is counterproductive, and it would bring a lot of bad press for the Jedi. As long as he complies with the Serious Stuff the council asks him to do, as long as his presence helps the morale of the troops and the republic in general.... They've got bigger things to worry about than Anakin occasionally slipping into Senator Amidala's bed.
Still, I truthfully don't think that's the case. Regardless, I 100% agree: Padmé is really attracted to Anakin's maturity, and in fact it's what makes him appealing to her from the beginning. That and his amazing cheekbones.
#ask#anakin skywalker#padme amidala#anidala#skyberrie#i wrote this post twice lmao cause the first time i was kinda working#and i left it in my drafts to finish it and then it wasn't there#clearly im technologically incompetent but thats a story for another day#i still think this version of the post is better than the lost one lmao#btw i LOVE anidala related asks#so keep 'em coming#also big KUDOS to hayden for acting the way he did in the refugees scene bc the way he says 'so you might say we are encouraged to love'#makes me absolutely FERAL. he knew what he was doing ppl. he knew#its soft and sweet and gentle but also certain. idk how he does it#hayden i love you

A Force Dyad: Chapter 5
There are more graphic depictions of male/male sex later in this chapter, so I must include a warning. I also did say that I would add some smut at the end of the last chapter.
Enjoy some of my cringey sex dialog.
______
Yord paced around Qimir's Coruscant flat, thinking how he would break his new relationship to Jecki and Osha. He wanted to come forward to them. Whether they approve of it or not, hiding this won't help either.
Yord took a breath as he waited for a response from Jecki to meet up. He was going to tell her and Osha. When the response came through, Yord took the information and started out.
Not before kissing Qimir while he laid asleep on the couch. He put a blanket over Qimir and gave him another kiss.
"I love you." Qimir smiled.
"I love you too." Yord responded. He pulled a hoodie on as he walked out the door.
Osha brought Mae with her. They all got a booth at a popular diner. Jecki sat next to Yord. She was that happy and relieved to see him. Mae sat awkwardly playing with her utensils. Osha tried to get her to communicate with the same Jedi she tried to kill a few days ago.
Jecki and Yord sensed the tension. So Jecki did what she does best, embarrassed Yord. She got a dastardly smile on her face.
"So tell us about your boyfriend, Yord!" Jecki announced. "I believe his name is Qimir Ren, right?"
"You know?" Yord yelled, covering his mouth.
"Yup. We all assumed that you when weren't coming home or trying to contact us that you were doing the forbidden saber duel." Jecki teased.
"You're okay with this? With Qimir being my boyfriend?" Yord asked.
"We accepted Mae. Besides, with everything going on with Master Sol, this is a nice change." Jecki responded.
"How much do you know?" Yord asked.
"I don't know the full story. I stormed out when Sol confirmed that he was lying about the events." Jecki sighed. "I didn't want to hear anymore. The Sol I knew was dying in front of me. I wasn't ready to face the reality."
"So honestly, it just made hearing the truth about Qimir, and you made this whole thing such a relief!" Jecki revealed. "I mean, he still killed our comrades, but so did Mae. If Osha asked us to give her a chance, then I guess we can try to do the same for Qimir."
Yord felt a flood of relief, knowing he had his friend's approval. He won't have to choose between his boyfriend and friends. The truths that are coming out about Brendok and Qimir's exile made their news good by comparison.
Later in their bedroom, Yord rested on top of Qimir, his head on Qimir's chest. Qimir's chin on Yord's head. His arm wrapped firmly around Yord. A warm blanket covering both of the men. A holo-drama was on for the background noise.
They shared a few passionate kisses and then a few more. Interlacing fingers. Yord returned his head to Qimir's chest.
Yord held up his end of his promise to Qimir and left the order. Tasi Lowa was transferred to Plo Koon. A condition Yord made with the council in exchange to leave peacefully.
He was supposed to leave his lightsaber, but Jecki snuck it back to him when they met earlier.
Right now, Yord just wanted to enjoy his newfound freedom. Plan out their new coven. Where'd they'd settle down and how'd they'd recruit new members. They could definitely start by helping refugees.
They found themselves consistently talking about having kids of their own. The more it was brought up, the more excited Yord got about carrying a child.
They wondered if they should wait a bit longer since they just settled in together. They wanted to make sure their baby would have the stability they needed.
When they discussed it, Qimir would randomly find himself rubbing Yord's belly. Even if they were on top of each other. Somehow, Yord's belly would become accessible for Qimir to put his hand on. They took it as their sign to have a baby. But not now. They had to secure some necessities for themselves. Also, find out how Mothers Koril and Aniseya did it.
While studying the dark side under Darth Plagueis, he watched his master do experiments on the midicholorians to create life. Qimir always paid close attention. They both wanted the same goal but to use it for different reasons.
Darth Plagueis wanted to live forever. Qimir didn't care about that. He wanted to create a new life that he and Yord could raise as their child.
It did not matter if they were biological, adopted, or padawan as long as their children were healthy.
One night, they threw caution to the wind and gave natural conception a shot. It wouldn't happen, but their ultimate goal was bonding through sex.
Qimir started by removing Yord's shirt and kissing his neck, making his way to his chest, from left to middle and burying his face in Yord's chest. He turned his head slightly to bite his pecs. He felt Yord pull him closer and guide him to their bed on top of him.
Yord separated his legs to let Qimir lay on him. He slid his hands down Qimir's back and started pulling on his shirt. Qimir lifted himself up to allow his button to be undone so his bare chest could be pressed again his lover's.
He made his way back up Yord's neck to his jaw line, then finally to his lips. He pushed his tongue into his mouth.
Yord's free hand yanked Qimir's pants. He took his free hand to help get his pants completely off before springing up to free Yord from his. The two locked eyes as Qimir positioned himself between Yord's legs and penetrated him.
He knew his little jedi rule follower was enjoying it. He penetrated deeper to get closer to his fellow former Jedi. He made his way back up through placing a trail of kisses on Yord's stomach, then chest, then neck, and finally reuniting their lips.
He returned to biting Yord's neck just below his jaw line. Humping just right to make Yord moan with each thrust. Yord wrapped his arm tightly around Qimir and grabbed a handful of his hair.
Qimir whispered filth into Yord's ear to make him more aroused. "Jedi scum!"
"Fuck the Jedi." Yord yelled as he orgasmed
"No. Fuck you!" Qimir smirked.
"Fuck me yourself, coward!" Yord snapped. Qimir pulled out to flip Yord over and reentered him.
"You're going to regret that." Qimir teased.
"I better." Yord moaned.
"You broke so many rules." Qimir started. "I have to do this. You're making me do this."
"I'll break more!" Yord moaned as Qimir pulled Yord closer. He felt Qimir bury his penis deeper into him. One of his hands interlaced with Yord's own, the other grabbing Yord's chest.
Yord got his turn on top. There was no kissing this time. It got a little rougher. Qimir thrusted while Yord moaned. Qimir's strong hands on his hips, holding him in place.
Knowing his Jedi wasn't going anywhere, Qimir grabbed Yord's dick and started massaging it. He kept playing with it and rubbing it just right.
The look of absolute pleasure of Yord's face made him go rougher. Between his own orgasms, he checked to make sure Yord was still experiencing pleasure.
With the two men facing each other once more, Yord lowered himself to Qimir's chest for his turn to leave hickeys and bite marks. Leaving a trail of kisses up his chest and neck to reach his lips. This time, he pushed his tongue into Qimir's mouth. They shared deep, passionate kisses.
Passionate kisses that would continue even after Qimir came inside Yord three times. They both experienced many orgasms at the same time. Every time he came he felt Yord's inner muscles tighten around his cock.
The session was over. Or so Qimir thought as he watched Yord get off of him. Only for Yord to spread his legs and penetrate Qimir.
"You think you weren't going to have to answer for your crimes?" Yord teased. Qimir was surprised at Yord's sudden snatching of control. He loved it!
"Yord Fandar!" Qimir laughed easing himself. "Are you bossing me around now?"
Yord closed the distance between them, returning the penetration he gave him earlier. Yord copied Qimir's trail of kisses up his chest to his lips. Not missing a step.
Through their connection, Yord knew Qimir was loving this. He would be pleasantly surprised by Yord taking charge. Qimir left scratch marks on Yord's back. They exchanged a few more long, passionate kisses before Yord came and pulled out.
Yord laid on his back and pulled Qimir towards him. Qimir rested his head under Yord's chin. Their arms wrapped tightly around each other before they finally rested.
"You were okay with what I did, right?" Yord asked.
"I love it when you take control." Qimir answered, running his hand across Yord's chest and stomach. "It was quite a pleasant surprise. You are free to do it more. If I don't like it, I will let you know. It will most likely be because I'm tired."
"Good. I'm glad we can agree on this." He kissed Qimir's head and then tilted his head up to kiss his lips. "I love you so much."
"I love you too." Qimir replied, returning the kiss.
"I remember we first did this as padawans in our late teens." Yord whispered. "The thrill of it combined with worrying if one of our masters would walk in on us."
"I remember that too." Qimir laughed. "We were on a mission to your home planet of Alderann, and our masters had to go help with peace negotiations. Little did they know we were also having negotiations."

My Tavs pt 1: Eligre, The Lady Crow
Eligre is the tav'd version of my 20+ year standing D&D character (though I haven't actually played D&D for about 15 years and don't actually care for it so she's also been adapted for several other systems as well; point is, she's my ride-or-die ttrpg character, my melodramatic trashfire, my beloved) so I was rolling into the game with an already-established backstory and personality to make decisions from.
Her playthrough is alternately called "bad decisions only" or a "hoe decisions only" run and is Neutral Evil oriented. I've been playing NE characters my entire adult life and is truly the wildest alignment to play because as long as your character can justify the action in their own minds, you can do whatever you want. And Eligre is especially proficient in mental gymnastics.
Act 1
Strong start by betraying the grove in act 1. If you asked Eligre why she did this, she'd tell you something like believing the druids and the refugees were too much in conflict to offer her any help and when given a choice she thought seeking answers directly from The Absolute made more sense. Or Minthara, specifically, was the only person she'd met since she crawled out of the nautilioid that had any sense and it was this woman alone would protect her and lead her to the answers she sought.
And maybe some of that's true.
But maybe she just did it because Minthara asked her to, made her such lurid promises in exchange for her unquestioning and bloody obedience.
It wouldn't be the first time.
Nor would it be the last, in terms of innocent lives sacrificed because Eligre tends to think with parts of her anatomy a lot lower and less noble than her brain more often than I would care to admit.
However, when Minthara left in the morning, Eligre was sure they wouldn't cross paths again, or perhaps didn't believe that Minthara would care one way or another when they did. After all, Eligre had shaken her faith in the Absolute and the sorceress was sure the other woman would simply wall off her mind and move on, throw herself back into her devotion to her god.
So she set her sights on Astarion and every choice she made thereafter was in service to his mercurial temperament and tastes. As a result, she was just acting a menace all over Act 1. Tormenting pregnant women (Myrena needed to be taught a lesson about trusting witches, Eligre included), allowing her beloved to kill the Gur hunting him, not saving the gnomes in Grymforge, looting anything that's not nailed down, blowing up the creche, etc, etc.
She also went all three rounds with the Pain of Loviatar, Abdirak. Usually, I play her as beholden to neither gods nor kings, but this particular encounter made me think that if she had to align herself with a diety, it would be the Pain Maiden, the faithless consort of the Tyrant.
Act 2
Because she betrayed the grove, Halsin hunted her down in the night and was slain by her and her company. So to this day, the area around Moonrise retains its terrible dark curse, swallowing helpless travelers that dare to pass through.
Per Minthara's instructions, she summoned Kar'niss to guide her to Moonrise, killing the Harpers that waylaid them as a show of loyalty. At Moonrise, she was surprised once again to find Minthara in her path, this time as a victim of the Absolute, brought down by the doubt that overwhelmed her in Eligre's embrace.
The witch rescued her and was immediately struck by the Drow woman's passionate loyalty.
It's intoxicating, knowing you've beaten not one but two gods in obtaining someone's devotion.
For all her wickedness, she did not betray the Last Light. Not even the handsome face of the treacherous Flaming Fist Marcus was enough to sway her. Did he think her do stupid that she would allow Isobel to be kidnapped and being the entire ravenous host of the Shadow-Cursed Lands down on her? Please. She ratted him out to Jahiera immediately and let the Harper deal with it while she swanned off to explore.
She also saved the Nightsong. It's a question of having powerful allies and the daughter of a god, especially indebted to Eligre for protecting her mate most high and killing Kethric, was an obvious choice. Even if it perhaps means she has to behave when under Dame Aylin's righteous gaze.
Speaking of allies, Eligre took Raphael's deal outside the mausoleum, for the sake of her distressed lover. Tricking Yugir into killing himself means that making good on this deal was no trouble at all.
As a result, she learned about Rites of Profane Ascension. She had to try not to look too excited at the prospect of learning this foul, forbidden magic.
While there is no hope of the curse being lifted any time soon, It is at least rid of Kethric Thorm and his deranged family. Eligre killed the Thorms tormenting Rithelwen at the bar, the house of healing and the tollhouse by wits alone, without ever raising a finger. This is the power granted to those with more charisma than sense (she may never get the taste of "oblivion" out of her mouth).
Act 3
I'm perpetually stuck on my way to the Morphic Pools due to bug problems, so I haven't finished it yet. But I expect she won't control the brain: a world of thralls seems like it would be incredibly boring for her regardless of the power involved.
Romance(s)
Astarion
{it's my personal headcanon that they didn't actually Do the Deed during this intimacy scene. She offered her neck, he bit her, she passed out and he took the opportunity to not have to actually see it through}
Eligre's relationship with Astarion is, from beginning to end, a perfect fit with her character but in the worst possible way. Eligre doesn't have the emotional maturity to see past Astarion's ruse. She wants so badly to be loved by someone who gets her (someone who is as bad as she is, without realizing that that's never going to work out). Astarion mirrors that fantasy back at her and the pair feeds each others' worst impulses until it eventually destroys their relationship and quite possibly both their souls in the bargain.
Minthara
NPC hookups: Drow twins, separately (she left Astarion at camp and Minthara hadn't become fond enough of her yet for it to matter) and Haarlep.
She hadn't really considered the consequences of doing it with Haarlep, trading sex for information and favors comes naturally to her. I laughed out loud however the first time the consequences of that deal uh...came over her while walking down a busy street and Astarion whipped out his "How terrible it is, to lose your bodily autonomy like that. I understand and I'm sorry".
And I wanted her to be able to look at him and be like "...I want you to say that again, very slowly, and think about the night we broke up. Just...think about it."
I think the Ascendant would argue back that he considers that "different" in a way only he's capable of understanding and they probably would have had such a cringy argument right there in the street that everyone would forget about the barely suppressed moan of involuntary pleasure that preceded it.
Post-game
I think she would go to the Underdark with Minthara as her consort and instrument of vengeance. Their wedding causes a documented shortage of black lace and at least six people die at or as a result of the wedding feast.
And I think that someday, far in the future, The Ascendant will come for her and ensure that she doesn't get to wash the blood of 7000 souls from her hands and move on with her life and she lives the rest of their lives not as his consort, but as a much-maligned pet. I even made a mock stat block to this effect for a vampire spawn called The Jilted Bride, found wandering the palace by a group of foolhardy adventurers.
🖤 SHOW ME YOUR BAD TAVS (not Durges, Tavs who are evil by their own whim and desire)

finished Warchild today!! thoughts below the cut
tldr: loved this book a LOT
this book was GREAT for Julian character exploration. he's my favourite little guy, lets get that out of the way first- Julian is amazing in this book, and I love love LOOOOOOVE Esther Friesner's take on him and how she wrote him. this book is set between s1 and s2, so this is Julian in the early days of his character development, still so young and desperate to prove himself, overflowing with emotion and passion, and UGH its all so fucking good. he's grappling with self-doubt and insecurity, while at the same time also doing some of his best work as a doctor, fuelled by desperation and the need to do whatever he can to help. he works himself to the bone until he literally faints. he gets so angry on behalf of the suffering children and he doesnt give a flying fuck who he's talking to when he unleashes about it. he cries over losing a child he had a bond with, Belem, actually CRIES- something I dont think we ever see from him in the series. the raw emotional vulnerability from Julian in this book is just. so good. god. I could write an essay. his brief romance with Jalika is bittersweet, and while it is a bit shoehorned in, imo, it does showcase how Julian falls hard and fast and with reckless abandon. fantastic depiction of the character, fantastic exploration of him as a doctor, seriously I cant praise this book enough for so wonderfully capturing Julian's character in every single way
also of note. this book was written prior to Doctor Bashir, I Presume? even airing, coming out in 1994, and yet we still get some fantastic implications about Julian's family. his internal narration of his family is derisive and he avoids thinking about them, and he thinks a bit about how he was raised in higher society among politicians. also also, there's a specific bit where he mentions how his parents boasted about him only enjoying "the finest dining" as a child, and it was a cover for him just being a picky eater. considering what would be revealed later, about Julian being neurodivergent and/or disabled, I found that to be an interesting note
Julian rambling out of the way, my absolute favourite thing about this book is its depiction of Bajor. this book truly doesnt hold back in depicting just how dire the situation is on Bajor. we're still in the early days of Bajor being liberated, and it isnt a pretty picture. Friesner strikes a beautiful balance between the unflinching, raw depictions of the refugee camps, the desolation, the dying children, and the brutal, honest depiction of the government and its failings. this book follows DS9's example of depicting characters who did what they had to do in sympathetic lights wonderfully, and you find yourself sympathizing with people who do terrible things because they've been driven to such a breaking point. the failures of Bajor's provisional government are truly highlighted, garnering more sympathy for the people in these camps, the people who aren't getting the help they so desperately need. it makes no attempts to sugarcoat or soften anything, forcing every non-Bajoran character's eyes wide open at the same time it does the readers. its a POWERFUL book in that regard, and I found it deeply compelling and difficult to put down
another highlight for me is the Kira and Sisko dynamic. this is still early days for them, and they butt heads constantly. the trust they come to develop isnt quite there yet, and Kira isnt afraid to let Sisko know exactly what she thinks, and she isnt afraid to do so as bluntly as she sees fit. in the same vein, I love the dynamic between Sisko and Bajor here. its strained, uncomfortable, Sisko cant seem to ever do anything right because every choice he makes makes somebody angry. Sisko really just cant catch a break in this one. he's either dealing with Bajoran representatives who are never pleased, or he's trying to track down Julian who's gone AWOL, or he's dealing with Quark. he truly cannot win
Kira's scenes in this novel are FASCINATING also, as they explore her faith and where it clashes with her duty. we see so many facets of her character- the hotheaded rebel fighter, the major, the soft and gentle motherly figure, the proud warrior. I love that shes fully in support of Julian going AWOL and backs him up. I love that later shes conflicted about it because she believes so wholly in the prophecy and the Nekor that she wants him back to be able to cure her. I wish we got more of her in the novel, I especially wish we got more from her POV, I think it would've really benefitted the story and the furthering of character relationships. still, im satisfied with what we got
Jadzia gets some great time to shine as a scientist in this one. I love the teamwork between her and Julian, and the emphasis placed on what a great team they make. theres a very cute scene where he makes a big breakthrough and grabs her and dances around with her and its like, one of my favourite things ive ever read. but she seriously gets to shine so much in her work in this one, there would've been no vaccine without her, and she does everything she can to further her research and her work. shes working herself to the bone as well, even if shes better at dealing with it, and her lifetimes of experience really get to take centre stage. wish we had some more of her, like I do with Kira, but also like with Kira, im satisfied with what we got
the original characters in this novel are great. Belem was devastating, the various Vedeks and representatives made me grind my teeth, and Cedara and Dejana were just. so fucking good. Cedara and Dejana felt so REAL, they were so interesting to read, heartbreaking and hilarious all at once, and so so charming. I saw the reveal with Cedara coming, and I loved it. I could read a whole series about her, a wild child with far too much placed on her shoulders, desperate to protect her little sister and her home. I like to think her and Julian keep in touch, and they visit each other, and he helps her out on her path to becoming a healer. then theres Jalika, who I did enjoy, but definitely felt the weakest of the introduced characters. I wish we got more time with her, and I wish there was more exploration of her beyond being the kind and gentle healer. we get a brief glimpse of her being quite capable of being deadly, and fierce, but only the brief glimpse. still, she was compelling, and her and Julian's brief romance had an ending that packed a surprising punch considering how short it was. really felt for both of them with that one
overall, this book was a solid read that I thoroughly enjoyed. I'd highly recommend it to anyone wanting more content about Bajor, and anybody who wants a really good Julian-centric story that pushes him to points we dont get to see him pushed to in the series. its a devastating read at times, but also hilarious- seriously, theres a scene with a hologram of Dukat dancing ballet in a pink tutu. what more can I say
#star trek: ds9#warchild#SUUUUUUCH a good book#also didnt put this in the post itself cause it wasn't the point#but Garak shows up in literally one scene of this novel#and they make it very clear that he's worried about Julian being AWOL#which considering this is pre-s2 and therefore pre-The Wire... giggling kicking my feet#theres a lot I didnt cover#great Quark and Odo interactions#Jake and Nog's early friendship days#the Jake Nog and Cedara shenanigans#Miles showing up to cuss things out#just. such a good book#it doesnt have a super high rating which is a tragedy#sure it isnt perfect but its REALLY good imo#would definitely recommend

⸻ ♞He took a breath, forcing himself to attempt to relax. The way his heart was racing felt more like he should be heading into battle. Then again, mundane situations like these typically made him more afraid than the dances with death he often partook in. His lack of normalcy in life had left him unprepared for such situations. The battlefield felt more natural time him than just a haircut. How pathetic.
He hadn't meant to mention her. Sometimes he casually said things without thinking of the ache it would leave upon his heart. He stays silent for a moment. He was staying still to allow the other to work properly. But nevertheless, emotions attacked him and it felt like his tongue was made of stone. Too heavy for him to speak. But he was trying so hard to move forward, despite his instinct to hold onto the past with an iron grip. He wanted to be able to talk about her-- about all of those that he had lost. He wanted to cherish them and their memory. But he was too weak to do so easily. Even if it had been years, the wounds still bled. He never healed. Though it was starting to get easier to breathe.
"We were. She... took me in after I got to Eorzea. She was the only family I had left." He spoke quietly. "I put her through a lot of trouble. We lived in a camp outside of Ul'dah with the other refugees. She had a place before I got there but... She couldn't afford it while providing for me. I tried to help with her burdens, but I was young and..." Despondent. Even if he tried to work and earn money for them, he had already walled himself off from the world. He had already been emptied out inside. "I... want to be able to talk about my family. I want everyone to know how amazing they were. It's just... so hard." He confessed.
Thankful for the shift in topic, Roi lets out a tiny sigh. "Is it nice...? Ah, well... Never mind that. I appreciate the eagerness. I... I like that you get to indulge in a passion. So long as you don't do anything that would cause Alisaie to tease me."

with his hands, rham'ir would comb roi's hair back into the way it was, straightening it as he allowed him space to speak--stammer and babble more like, but rham'ir would not harangue him for it, of course. flustered stutters were far more preferable to the boy moping in his experience. he had such a nice smile when he opted to do so and, while he wasn't smiling per se in this instance, he wasn't frowning or grimacing in pain, physical or otherwise. he gave a soft smile, however, as he closed his eyes at seeing himself in the mirror--something rham'ir understood all too well, and would not chide him for.
"i'm sorry to hear about your aunt, roi. were you two close?" he asks, reaching for a spray bottle to spritz the boy's hair prior to running a thin comb through it. once it was evenly dampened, he'd take his special pair of scissors and begin to trim the edges of roi's hair, removing dead and split ends, and giving a light trim while he formulated his thoughts. he would not do anything untoward to his hair that roi didn't want, but a trim was sorely needed, especially after the nightmare they had just experienced.
"if you do not wish to discuss it, you may simply let me know, as well," he says as he gently clips and trims and snips, "you have such a nice head of hair, though, for what it's worth. i don't get to do this often as you are aware, so i apologize if i'm too forward in my eagerness to do more." he says it with a smile, "it's a privilege that you allow me to trim at all.

a request where ari returned from his African-Jewish mission then goes and ask his ex-wife, reader to give him a chance
Hii, thanks for the request. Hope you like it!
5 months. It took Ari five months on his excursion, utilizing his makeshift hotel to smuggle refugees to safety. 5 months of risking his life for the betterment of others. He loved his job, as it was something he was passionate about, but it came with more risks than death. Sacrifices outside of the camp were made. Marriage was also sacrificed. Y/N was tired. Ari would spend days upon days away from his phone and when things became sticky communication was obsolete. Never a letter, text, or call came from him. It was what led to their divorce. 20 years with a seemingly best friend, tarnished because of it. Their kids' reactions to the divorce were mixed. One was understanding because they also experienced Ari’s neglect, but the other refused to accept it. They wanted their family to stay intact, with no separate living, birthdays, or Christmases.
“Mama, can’t you two work it out?” the youngest pleaded. “ I bet papa won’t do another mission if you tell him, please!” fresh tears pricked their eyes as you held them.
“Baby, I want that to be true and I know your dad wants it to be true, as well. Unfortunately, your dad is also headstrong and loves putting others before himself. This last mission we could’ve lost him and I can’t keep this charade any longer that I’m okay about it. I want you both to grow up in a home that’s filled with love, joy, and sweet memories, but I can’t give you that with your dad anymore.” you sniffled. Your youngest was 13, but you didn’t know how to explain the severity without wallowing in agony about losing your best friend.
“Dad comes back in a few days! Can you both try for me? For both of us!” their heart wrenching sob tore throughout their vast home. The eldest heard their cries and rushed in to alleviate the situation.
‘Y/YC/N, let mama rest. We know this isn’t easy for her.” they ushered the youngest away from you.
“She’s ruining this family!”
There was silence lingering at their outburst which made your heart shatter. Shards decorated at your feet with each thump that erupt your eardrum. You thought about the risk of divorce and how it would affect everyone, but after news broke out about Ari’s camp being infiltrated. It crushed you. Sadly, divorce has been a topic even before his mission. Ari was never home, spending his time at meetings to prepare for his mission- much to your dismay. Although, he never took heed when you presented papers to him and merely thought of it as a threat, he would soon realize how severed his ties were.
“Ari, I don’t want to go on this mission. Think about us for once.” you bellowed. “The kids and I are tired of staying up to the crack of dawn because we have no clue if you’re alive or not. Those missions affect us a lot more than you think, and I really need you here to help raise our kids! Please Ari, don’t go.” your ears were ringing as your head pounded. It was a marching band playing in your head by how much noise was occurring.
Ari leaned against the kitchen island, frustration evident on his face. He glanced between you and the papers laid straight on the table.
“This is my job, Y/n.” he retorted. “ It’s my job to help people that need it and right now they need me.”
“We need you too! God, can you actually see that or you don’t care how we feel about this. The kids have spent more time around their uncles than you. You are so caught up with these missions that you forgot our child’s birthday or how about the time you left our child in your mom’s care because you left early for one of your missions. Open your eyes, Ari!” you argued, cursing under your breath when you began sobbing.
Ari quickly rushed to engulf you, but you knew better than to melt in his warm embrace and slipped out of his grasp. He was still pressed on going to Sudan and knew that he would have to make a choice sooner rather than later. With a long sigh, he took the pen that settled beside the divorce papers then signed underneath your signature.
“I know you want me around more,” he started. “The kids understand how important this is to me and I would think my wife would too. This is something beyond myself, something I know I need to be involved with, so I'm going.” he strained to say. You noticed his eyes also started to water before he left to stay with one of his friends.
The divorce was finalized within a few months and with that Ari was gone. He would call the kids but reframed from contacting you. Adjusting to life without contact broke you, his aura still lived in this house. Those days he arrived home, throwing his jacket on the couch while the kids latched onto him or when it was summer and he tended the grill, wearing his favorite flannel and crocs. Your doorbell brought you back to reality. Reality that have you recently divorced and yearning for Ari’s return.
“PAPA!” your youngest announced.
He’s here early. Ari was home and now you have to approach him after 5 months. Staggering to your front door, there he stood in all his glory. He wore a pink flannel with brightly dusted stars on it while he matched it with a pair of cargo shorts. His normally trimmed beard was bushy and his chest hair covered his necklace. Without thinking, you approached him.
Ari cleared his throat as your youngest let go of the hug. “Hey Y/n,”
“Hi,” your voice broke. You fail to realize how much you missed him. His contagious smile and warmth started to surround you as you let your guard down. He whispered apologies in your ear while you cried in his arms. The fight evaporated from within you as you recalled the events he experienced. Losing Ari terrified you, but right now he was home.

Do you have any head canon about where and what would the Hacketeers counselors study if they go to university or where they would work after the summer camp?
Yep ! Hope you enjoy !
Requests still open in my inbox

Ryan
I feel like after all the nearly dying and killing of the night at camp, he'd somehow start to think like "fuck it. you only life once" and decide to go to the animation school he was talking to Chris about.
So yeah, he would feel bad for his family for a bit, but he'd enjoy his education I think.
Probably would start working as soon as he can for small projects that are animation related. I feel like he'd enjoy making cartoons ?
Dylan
Same as Ryan, the boy's going to follow his dreams and major into quantum physics in college. And heck yeah he's going to be good !!
I feel like he never was a big fan of school, except for the science subject. But now that he's only got those, he really excited to be in class, for the first time.
I think he'd do great as a teacher. Science is his passion, and even if he's shy, he loves to share it with others. He wants to prove that math and physics can be fun.
Probably teaches for high school, maybe middle school too.
Abigail
Art school all the way babey ! She was a bit insecure about it first, because yk, not the most stable life, and she's an anxious cookie.
But after the traumatic events of the night, art became her only refugee. The only way to get better was to draw, paint, anything to get the nightmares out of her system. She then realized she wanted to do that for a living too.
Once she graduates, she probably goes from project to project for a while. Testing stuff, living her life and enjoying it.
I feel that she would become a teacher a some point too, maybe later in her life. She was great with the kids at camp, and they loved her class.
Laura
Girl followed her dream ! She was so sure of herself, and so happy when she finally started her vet studies. After the hellish summer she went through, this felt like a huge victory.
After years of study, she started working in a cabinet and she was great there. I feel like she'd want to open her own at some point. She's a badass she'll succeed.
Max
Getting rejected from uni was hard for him. Without really knowing what to do, he started doing a few jobs here and there to save a bit of money. Get a bit of experience too.
The year after, he tries college again. He didn't think he could do it, but Laura tutored him a lot. He got in !
Majored in psychology. He's good at listening people, he's an empath you know. Wants to be a psychologist, or anything related in the field. He wants to help people, especially those with strong trauma.
If he and Laura ever have children, I'd kinda see him as a stay-at-home dad though.
Emma
Majors in communication or something. She is great at being an influencer, she knows how to sell a product. Talking to the people is her thing.
She's still going strong on social medias, and that definitely helps her getting a job later.
Probably was in marketing for a while, but she didn't really fit there. That world wasn't for her.
She then works in the communication team for small enterprises that she likes (people that organizes events, or things like this). She's the social media manager of this kind of stuff.
Kaitlyn
She has no idea what she wants to do with her life. She's a free spirit, and having to decide what her path will be right now is scary.
So she follows her parents' advice and go to college. She majors in law studies. It was bit of a random choice, but in the end she likes it quite a lot. She's good with people, and not afraid to step up.
Thinking back, during the trials against the Hackett family, she was amongst those who fought the hardest to bring the truth out.
Later, she specializes in all the case that don't have a rational explanation. She's been there, she knows what it likes. She's the best lawyer in town.
Jacob
Doesn't know what he wants to do with his life either. But unlike Kaitlyn who spent hours thinking about it, Jacob is way more chill. He goes with the flow.
He tried college. But with all the trauma and his guilt at somehow having caused them to stay, along with the breakup with Emma, the boy had it quite rough. He wasn't the best at school before, but with all the shit, college just didn't work out for him.
Like Max, he tries a lot of small jobs to get a bit of money.
Eventually he gets back on his feet and remembers what he was good at : sport. He trains and spends a lot of time in gyms, and starts working there.
Later, he either continues this way in the gym world, or becomes a sports coach in school. He was good with children, and he still is !
Nick
Nick loves cooking. But cooking schools aren't the best on resumes, at least not to his parents. So they make a deal : Nick tries college.
He and Jacob stayed tight after this summer. Thankfully, they don't even life that far, so they just went to the same college. As mentioned before, Jacob didn't stay long. Nick finished the year, but he really didn't like it.
Against his parents' wishes, he dropped and started culinary school. He moved in with Jacob, he had enough of his parents as roommates. He also took a part time job at a restaurant to afford it all (still had help from his parents though).
Stayed in the restaurant and climbed the ladder. He's happy with his cooking.
Lmao I realize that I hc a lot of them as teachers. Imagine them all teaching in the same school. Hilarious.

i think star feels this kind of respect and admiration for very passionate and caring people -- she sees herself as somewhat lacking in that herself in contrast. and its true she can be a bit detached from things, just kind of drifts along with the current sometimes, but when other people are like you know star youre pretty kind, stars mentally like ?. she knows she does heroic stuff but she kind of thinks of herself as doing it arbitrarily because its something a hero would do and its not like shes got anything better or more special going on in her life and besides she just thinks people help each other in the world. not that she doesnt feel sometimes acute frustration at injustices or genuine desire to see pain alleviated either, but she doesnt really dedicate to them with the committed ardor some people do. what ysayle said to her that one time she basically calls wol an idiot really actually hit star. but i think part of what forged such a good first impression of yugiri for her post arr was hearing all the doman refugees talk about her, about how dedicated yugiri was and how much she’d done for them, how she couldve walked away from them at any time but she chose not to, how they owed so much to her and hoped to make it up to her in turn.
