I am going to cheat to include Nopes, so Manu!

Billy with all of her own insecurities about how she presents herself and her difficulties to socialise, still managed to ask this woman to help her organise some sort of recital for her dad, and she accepted! She went ahead, and helped her, sure Jerry was an ass afterwards, but I think this interaction kind of summed up their relationship in FE16 - Manu is one of the few who asks Billy how they're doing and/or invites them to talk to her if they feel down.

It felt like Manu is one of the first/closest persons Billy can call a work colleague who became a friend. Sure, it cannot be developped more because the game wanted to push the "Billy -> students" relationships, and not the "someone -> Billy", but as far as it goes, Manu feels like the sympathic coworker who tries to make Billy feel at ease with her new job, and it's something I appreciate!

Well, I picked F!Billy for Manu because the support doesn't fall in the weird "Manu looks for a hubby" undertones that are both, Manu being Manu, and "protagonist privilege" and to be honest, while Billy is supposed to be easy to talk to, I can't really say I appreciate the relationships they have with the characters given how said relationships cannot really be separated from the doylist "Billy is the player self-insert" so every relationship they have is seen through this lens

(which is why the Manu one became so important, because even in Nopes where it's Barney's time to shine, she still accepts to help Billy!)

Save for the one they have with Jerry, but I don't admire that bond at all. And even if I ignore the S-supports and look at their convos with the nabateans... canon-wise, their relationship is either too muddled in the general wtf about Fodlan's plot aka Billy won't tell them jack about Sothis, or "player character privilege" (aka Seteth giving more fucks about Billy being able to learn his true identity than for Rhea's safety after being caught by Agarthans, Rhea's "alone b4u" support, Sothis' weird bond with them and Flayn's just ends up with "we will protect each other"...) - also, Tru Piss exists so idk how that reflects on Billy's canon character !

So as cliché and uninspired as it sounds... I'll pick Barney.

Sure it's the old af "former enemies become friends", but at least going by what the canon gives us, Barney and Billy are on a good enough basis for Barney to trust Billy about the gremlin in his head, and Billy found a rival but also someone he can confide in about his wishes and lack of aspirations.

I know it's not a lot and what I think about Nopes in general is less than positive lol, but as FE16 was designed, I couldn't appreciate Billy a lot given how the emphasis was all about all the characters reacted to Billy - the player's avatar - and not how Billy reacts to them, bar Rhea (she's the only one they can have an A rank support with before the timeskip!) and yet, as said above, Tru Piss exists...

Headcanon wise though, it's another can of worms lol, but canon-wise, sadly, I don't have a lot of positive things to say about canon!Billy's relationships :(

Cyril :

Canon-wise, his bond with Seteth!

Best Uncle or not, Cyril is the only one Seteth trusts about the "totes secret" intel that he and Rhea are "like family", and during their convo, Seteth manages to pick his words carefully enough to make Cyril realise that he has a life beyond repaying/being grateful to Rhea, without straight out telling him that his feelings are uncalled for and/or weird.

He's the one to make him realise he can do anything he wants, Cyril's grateful and respects Seteth a lot, and in turn, Seteth trusts, worries but relies on him (seen in Nopes when he asks him to look after Rhea!).

I really like their bond, as poorly developed as it is.

like, when i'm in this mode of trying to make a thing and it's going sort of well i wind up sort of subsuming most of my attention to it

(yes, i did send a message on instagram, the only platform i still have contact with him, to my friend the former Navy diver, to ask him for more dolphin insights. yeah. we'll see. it's been years and he got politically Weird [not that way!!! the other way actually don't worry] so i'm not sure how that'll go.)

but anyway, on Character Creation

one of the problems i have is that i have to kind of write things to find them. and so i was going along writing about a particular B-plot problem, and I had a character say something snippy that I then needed an uninvolved person to overhear and react to, for scene pacing reasons (idk, it just seemed right)

and i had needed an original character for another role in the A plot so i was like ah yes, Placeholder can do that and then we segue flawlessly back into the A plot, so I wrote a bunch of that but the character was such a bland placeholder (i devoted zero thought to their name, and was like i guess they'd call themself a consultant ok, and then my brain filled in "Rin" for their name, and I'm a thousand words in before I'm like. this person cannot be named Consultant Rin.) But I got the A plot sequence done and it holds up, and reading back over it, mm this person needs more personality.

I stepped away from the computer and was eating a meal with Dude and talking to him about something unrelated, and then I was musing on how various of his coworkers sound on Zoom calls, and the only one I can tell apart is the woman with a mild speech impediment, and he was telling me more about her and I suddenly in midsentence was like "oh I don't think I've ever written a character with a speech impediment" and like.

there's technical challenges to that, which was interesting to contemplate-- just like writing a character with an accent, where you don't want to descend into like, exotifying dialect but you do want to convey something of the uniqueness of this person's diction whenever they speak. so that's a fun and interesting constraint to put on a character, and can help with a real problem I have always had in my writing, where I love writing dialogue but everyone just talks like me unless I put a ton of attention into making sure they don't.

but this character immediately morphed in my mind, from Placeholder With Stolen Name to

Extremely Autistic Technician With Like, Absolutely No Rizz Who Within Five Minutes Becomes Everyone's Favorite Person

and is not based on anyone I know but I immediately knew and loved them and that is a much better standpoint from whence to create a character.

I also need to come up with names for everybody, and that's on the list, but I'm getting there. I'm just glad I have a mental image now. I don't do visual imagination stuff very well-- fanfiction is nice because I can usually find an image of a character and refer back to that, because I'm not exactly faceblind but I don't hold images well in my mind. With original characters it's so so so so hard, because I can't imagine that well, but it really helps me keep a voice distinctive if I can look at the person and think about them talking. So.

At least having some vague notion rather than like one of those blank wooden poseable artist figure model things helps.

The Statements.

After the insanity of yesterday night, I can finally calmly and rationally think about this and say something about it that makes logical sense.

This is a critique of the company at large, some of the individuals within it, the statements, and the actions that have taken place. It's also an opinion. Feel free to take it as you will.

So, apparently, ANYCOLOR disclosed legal documents that contained personal information about their livers to said livers. And the livers reacted accordingly as there were some recordings, addresses, and things of that nature within these documents. I cannot fault them for reacting the way they did based on the little sense of the situation and the information they had.

However, let it be stated that these were legal documents that were only supposed to be between the person involved and the lawyers involved. Please correct me if I'm wrong about this, but to me, that sounds like the livers were never supposed to see these documents in the first place because if they were, all of the names and addresses would have likely been redacted or given 'John Doe' status beforehand.

It is also to be said that ANYCOLOR likely did not give these livers all of the legal documents. In their own statement, Nijisanji World states that "parts of information received from Selen and her lawyer was shared to them by ANYCOLOR Inc" (1). Part.

Given that Nijisanji has twisted words and events to fit their narrative in the first place, this is a red flag. The livers in that statement are reacting to only part of the legalities and this is further supported by Nijisanji World as they state, "ANYCOLOR Inc. shared only necessary parts of the information sent by her lawyer with our Livers and led an internal investigation" (1), doing this to check what Doki's lawyer claimed. So, that tells us that the company cherrypicked what to give to their livers, possibly spun a narrative around it, and then set the livers loose on one of their former coworkers.

This is even further supported by this as Nijisanji World states that "our Livers are not held to any confidentiality obligation regarding the information shared to them from ANYCOLOR Inc." (1). So this tells me that the livers in that video went ahead and did this of their own volition with the information that the company gave, which was only part of the entire legal issue. The only context that the livers are operating on is the stuff that the company is giving them and has told them.

Nijisanji World goes on to end it with this statement, saying that "ANYCOLOR Inc. hereby declares that it has not made any confidentiality violations while checking the validity of claims made by Selen and her lawyer with its affiliated Livers" (1) to conclude that nothing they did was legally wrong.

While this may be the case from a legal standpoint, ethically speaking? This has ruined not only the livers that made this statement but has made the company even worse. They're manipulating their own livers and having them operate on tiny bits of information that they chose to give to them to further drag Doki (their former friend and coworker) through the mud.

However, this does not excuse the company for spurring them to do this with limited information that does not give the whole story. And it sounds as much, given what the disclaimer of the 15-minute statement says:

"Everything that'll be discussed has been approved by our lawyers or is based solely on our personal experiences." (2)

With this, the company makes to move the fallout onto their own livers. Even the title "A Message from Nijisanji EN" and the fact that it was hosted on one of the liver's channels has the company steering everything away from them and hoisting it onto the people they ought to be protecting.

Some statements and claims made in this video are of note as they suggest a great deal of what was happening behind the scenes as well as how things usually go concerning what the company tells their livers. One segment of these statements says:

"Over the past month, staff received documents from Selen's lawyer containing examples of her claimed experiences under ANYCOLOR. These documents in question include personal information of some livers and when it was sent to us, we learned that there was a potential that this information could be made public. Some of the information poses a risk to our personal safety and puts some of us at risk of doxxing. Notably, one section of this document alludes to where Millie, Enna, and I live. However, there are also harmful claims Selen made in the document about some liver's personal information that we believe are simply untrue" (2).

Now, to break this down, this does a couple of things:

We can now confirm that ANYCOLOR sent legal documents that were not to be disclosed to their livers, which corroborates with what Nijisanji WORLD said in this recent statement but directly contradicts their termination notice as that states that the 'Activity Rules' were there to "prevent... leakage of confidential information belonging to ANYCOLOR or third parties" (3), which ANYCOLOR then decided to break by doing this.

The contents of the documents and the names they dropped have not only given people 'targets' of who was involved in the initial situation but have now painted a target on their backs, which is corroborated by the termination notice as it states that "[Selen Tatsuki] claimed that she was no longer able to engage in her activities as a Liver due to the decisions made by ANYCOLOR, was being harassed by other affiliated Livers due to mismanagement, etc." (3).

The livers calling the contents of legal documents that they were never meant to see as 'doxxing' and 'untrue' not only paints the narrative in a way that is meant to be seen as damaging to the livers, but is also made to have the viewer call into question the character of the one who initially stated that they never wanted to release those as they very much state that "It was a private document with my own personal information and was used as a legal document to help my lawyer and document my thoughts + was never supposed to release anywhere else to any other parties outside of legal department" (4).

To summarize these points, this first statement has not only confirmed what and who the legalities entail but has also managed to pin the livers against formerly one of their own based off of contradicting information.

This is already host to many alarm bells but this is what I noticed:

It took management more than an entire day to get back to the liver for the approvals of this video.

It also took management an entire day to address the fact that it was up in the first place.

As it included 'ex-livers', there are more approvals that had to go through.

Selen tweeted about this after management took down the video.

This needs to be taken with a grain of salt, as this project was literally months in the making and there are only six screenshots out of thousands that could have absolutely been taken out of context. There is also something to be said about this, as initially in the termination letter, the company claims that "[she had made] misleading statements that omitted essential context, notably "management had privated the Song" (3).

They have now not only confirmed that this 'misleading statement was actually correct, but have now framed it in a way that makes them look like they were in the right with these screenshots despite the other holes in their narrative.

Another batch of statements are led by this: "Having thoroughly reviewed the documents sent to ANYCOLOR by her lawyer and based on what I know personally, and have been told by Selen as her friend, myself and other members vehemently believed these claims to be completely untrue." (2)

As we have already confirmed that they only received some documents and only documents on the livers, I can say with confidence that this is now incredibly more complicated than it has to be by leaking these documents to parties that were not to be made privy to them.

Now, to talk about the recording. The recording itself was, as I've stated many times, likely for legal reasons and is also quite legal under the law. The contents of said recording were about the AR Live that was canceled (of which two of the livers present were a part of and another liver who has now left in part because of it). This is only further proof that this was never meant to be disclosed to the livers.

However, the context of this recording is interesting as the liver states, "From what I know, based on this document, Selen had wanted to use this as proof of staff showing favoritism for some members over others as at the time, I wasn't reprimanded by staff having made that tweet" (2).

The liver that said this is arguably the favorite of Nijisanji EN as well as part of the generation that is arguably the most supported one. This generation has their own YouTube channel. This generation has two of their own songs as a group. It is obvious to anyone with eyes that they are the golden children to the point that the other livers have made jokes about it. In one stream, two livers joke about how that generation is the favorite and have a good laugh with their chat (5). This is also not the first time they've made this joke either as one can find clips of streams that show more or less the same thing.

The liver in question then further states that "... I now know that my intent feelings at the time came from omitted context and falsehoods and that once again is heartbreaking" (2). And now history repeats itself as essential context is once again omitted (the documents) and intent feelings (the statement) are acted upon and spurred with falsehoods (the termination notice, this video). If all of these claims are so untrue, then why is there proof that abounds?

The last batch of statements is one of the more objective ones in the sense that the liver themselves make it a note to have it come from a personal place from the jump. The liver states that: "In spite of this, I feel like the public deserves to at the very least be aware of the existence of these documents as well as some of its contents for the sake of transparency and honesty" as well as "we wanted to make sure that what we shared was as much as we were able to share" (2).

This is something that I disagree with given the contents of these documents as well as the blatantly obvious narrative being spun by ANYCOLOR by distressing their livers even more by giving them these specific documents. I too would like honesty and transparency, but not like this, and certainly not from the livers themselves.

It is also to be said that Nijisanji WORLD also states in their response that (I state it again), "However, regarding the specific information and documents which Selen’s lawyer requested that we do not share with our Livers, with utmost consideration of this request ANYCOLOR Inc. has not shared any such information" (1).

So this tells me that the livers do not have the full picture and with this liver's statement here, this is essentially confirmed. However, there is one last statement that they say that renders this perceived well-being and consideration absolutely moot:

"Within Nijisanji EN, everyone always makes an effort to make sure that anyone who wants to be included in something has the opportunity to do so, whether that be online or offline. And all of us will continue to do our utmost to provide a safe and fun environment for fans to enjoy together." (2)

This is as much as Nijisanji EN is willing to say on the matter, to which I say this: Making a safe and fun environment is not the liver's job. That is the company's job. That is the management's job. The livers themselves are to be supported by the company and staff.

There are many other things in the video that can be discussed that pertain to how the livers feel about Selen as a person as well as her actions, but I will not be covering those.

Some of you may not like what I'm about to say, but I'm going to say it anyway:

The livers that partook in this video did not have to do this. They chose to do this of their own volition. While I cannot necessarily fault them for making it a pre-written statement as there is sensitive information involved, the entire video seems disingenuous in the face of what the situation has become.

I still hold the opinion that the company is largely responsible for this entire situation, but I can also say that some of the livers within it can exercise caution and common sense when it comes to anything released by said company to them in the midst of it all.

I personally find that this video did not need to be released as it not only gives the impression that they do not take seriously enough that their former coworker almost took their own life due to the alleged conditions as well as some of the internal people within, but that they are willing to brush those claims aside and double down on the convoluted narrative that their company has already made.

Within this video, I found no serious reflection from these livers nor any attempt to see where they were coming from. Despite this persisting for months, they simply side with the company and they're going to believe them over one of their own? These specific livers had cultivated a mentality that these matters of mental health are to be taken seriously and treated with the utmost care, but in this circumstance, they have cheapened it and shown their audiences that it has always been about the bottom line.

While the company should have never foisted this upon them in the first place and the other liver's reactions are up to question, at the end of it all, they could have chosen silence and no one would have had to know. There wouldn't have been closure, but they would stay intact.

The conclusion here is rather simple:

ANYCOLOR should not have shared those documents with their livers.

The livers should not have said anything about those documents nor their personal feelings about the contents of said documents.

Nijisanji WORLD should not have said anything more about this and should not have officially implicated their own livers.

Nijisanji should have been silent, but they insist on dragging Doki and everyone else back into this matter and are only serving to ensure that the EN Vtuber community will never let them or their livers come back from this again.

You know. Personally I really hate the whole "men thinking a sexworker is in love with you is like girls thinking their therapist actually cares about them" post. Cause like. Dude. You're giving a whole bunch of people trust issues just to prove a point?

Yes. Sexworkers are actors. That's how they get money. No they don't actually have any emotional ties to you and you're not entitled to it either. Lovely. End post.

But you just had to add that last bit. And I, a person who not only has a mother as a therapist, but my former therapist is also my mother's best friend, don't believe you.

Because when nobody was supporting us, she was. Both of them.

My mother is the strongest person I know. And she will come home telling me about her clients and about the good times she has with them, all the smiles and the tears she shares, and yes. While some of them grind her gears(like when she works with people who refuse to acknowledge their problems), she genuinely loves her job.

The entire first month she was working at her new job, she would be regularly reduced to tears because of how she wanted to sweep up all the little kids that walked into her office and adopt them so they wouldn't be hurt anymore.

And my former therapist? She's the one that saw my mother's drive and will to help other people and encouraged her to go back to school to get her degree. She was the one to tell my mom that "you can do this, even if it's hard." And she was my mother's therapist originally, as well. Before they became coworkers and friends. And this is the same woman that came to my graduation party and gave seventeen year old me a $50 gift card to spend on art supplies. And as someone who grew up scrounging together change and building up off of Crayola and every sketchbook I was gifted for birthdays, it was like gold. I finally was able to afford good quality alcohol markers and a gigantic multimedia sketchbook. I even bought myself a wooden easel so I wouldn't hurt my neck anymore staring at the table. I still have all of these things. And we still have contact with her.

And while this isn't the case with everyone, and I'm very lucky to have been given the life and resources I have right now, I know that I wouldn't have been able to do any of it if that woman hadn't sat down with my mother and actually gave her the love and encouragement she needed to be better. If she hadn't sat down with me and done the same.

And as somebody who grew up with extensive trust issues, I can tell you full throttle that this idea of your therapist not caring about you is bullshit. If they don't care about you, get a new one. Because their whole fucking job is to have you get better. And I'm sorry but you cannot convince me to any degree of persuasion that you can spend years across from the same person, get to know them, the real them, their fears, their joys, their motivators, their love, and then just??? Not??? Care about them???? At all???? And even if you don't spend years with this person, isn't it something to be proud of when you see them succeed????

So no. I won't be subscribing to this idea. Because everything I've ever known has proven it wrong. And to anyone that's been affected by that post and thought that they were crazy- I'm sorry. Because I felt that way too when I first came across it.

You're therapists should care about you. So should your doctors and your pharmacists and anyone who is fully vital to your well-being. Because if they don't, you're not going to end up healthy. And the whole point of going to these people is to be healthy. Or at least try your best at it.

I'm not trying to act like "oooo it's fate it's fate that put it's curse on me I'm just unlucky" because I know all the blame is on me. I know I fucked up so so so so many things and I fucked over other people *and* myself. And I know that I have to work very very hard to become like someone who could be loved because it's not like people who are loved and happy just "got lucky somehow" but because they simply worked hard on themselves and for their happiness. But it's just so overwhelming. I feel like I'm starting my life from scratch. I have nothing. Well ok.... I do have roof over my head and a tumblr blog. I try so hard to have love for the little joys in life but man it's so so so fucking hard to cherish them alone as well. I wish I could have someone to go to a café with. I wish I could have someone to spend new years eve with. I wish I could have someone to stroll thru a park with. I wish I could have someone to go to a bar with. Żmija is so nice and so patient towards me always but she's so far away and has a million more important things and people going on in her own life anyway. And I'm not even attractive enough to go on dating apps to meet new people. It's so exhausting it's so...... I wish I could have my family by my side at least. I wish they enjoyed spending time with me. I wish I didn't feel like an intruder no matter who I'm with, no matter where I go. With my former friends, my coworkers, classmates whatever, I actually tried so many many many fucking times to get together, to go out, to organize something, anything... I have so so many flaws and in many ways of course I am really truly horrible. But this one part of it I cannot let go, the fact that I actually tried my best and kept texting first and suggesting specific dates and plans and everything, and yet that didn't work. And I don't know why. I have no idea what is so wrong with me that I couldn't even make my best friends stay. I'm impatient and selfish and moody and needy and lazy and whiny and ugly and cowardly and loud and stubborn and nitpicky and pretty boring and I interrupt people and I like to gossip and I don't do drugs and I wallow in sadness and self pity too much and I talk without thinking and I get way too focused on myself. MY bf apparently cannot take any paid leave yet because he's been at his workplace for less than 6 months, which means our vacation is under a big question mark this year...... well, HIS vacation, because I'm not really about to have been working a year without a vacation, sorry.......sooo sorry not sorry though 🤪 though I am afraid to vacation alone. I don't think my country is very solo-trip friendly, especially when you're a woman. But I can't afford to go elsewhere, and it would be last minute planning anyway. It drives me NUTS that this is just. Normal. Like, having to work 6+ months at a workplace before the employer decides you deserve to have some time off. He works 14 hours shifts for 2 days every 2 days too, so he doesn't even have legal holidays or weekends off AND isn't EVEN allowed to SIT DOWN!! That's just fucking insane sorry I can't fault the employees for putting up with this cause everyone's gotta eat but just the principle like just the mere simple fact that this happens and no one bats an eye. Is making me rabid. Vacation plans ruined aside. And my best friend is in the same situation of not being able to go on holiday except she's been working at her desk job for like 2 years. It's even more infuriating that her employer decided she should take all of her days off in December last year. Like imagine your employer deciding when you take your vacation?? I'd shit in my chair and leave.

Anyway topic change: lately I've been going crazy over Fia, like I can't stop thinking about her all the time, and especially wondering how she's doing, how life has been treating her. I feel it's kind of unhealthy and like borderline a creepy obsession that only I know about, but I don't want to let go of her, the memory of her is such a mental crutch to me. I realized Saturn transited her Moon maybe a couple weeks or so back, and I pulled a card for the very broad and general question "How is she?". And the card was The Tower 😭 and ik the Tower isn't always automatically bad or dangerous, but it has potential to be, and anyway it represents change and upheaval and I got a bit sad/scared for her. I just hope she has a good and full support system, regardless of whatever has been going on, good or bad. I always wonder this, trying to picture her surrounded by people who love her and care about her, trying to picture her receiving that love and care. I think it's hard to picture her giving it back because I've never seen her do that, but it's easy to picture the former because I loved her for so long. Sometimes I idealize her to such an extent that it feels surreal for such a human to exist on earth, she turns fragile and tender in my vision, like a single touch would hurt her, and the urge to protect her grows even more intense, and brings with it the frustration of being incapable of doing so. It's bizarre, this has happened with almost all of my obsessions over time. I think she's my longest lasting one. OH and I was also thinking about her like fear? Of being the subject of gossip, or being talked about in Facebook groups of students and such. I do have a memory of her asking something like that, and even though she was reassured she still seemed so anxious about it. Probably why she stays off social media. And yet it was her coworker who was overheard gossiping about her irl... by my friend, who said he called her crazy. 😑 Idk, just some thoughts that kind of add to my theory of her being a Gemini rising with Pisces moon in the 10th house. I've also been watching Breaking Bad with my bf (we finished it yesterday!! He loved it and so did I, rewatching it as an adult has been such a good decision and so wild. It really is one of the best TV shows ever made) and Bryan Cranston's mannerisms, facial expressions, gestures (ofc not limited to his Breaking Bad role, I was also noticing this in Malcolm in the Middle) are so similar to hers I almost thought my bf would recognize some of them, and his "exposure" to Fia was much shorter-lived than mine, and through a screen. "People forget that you're not fine when you look fine." - The Struggles of an Invisible Illness as a Working Woman

A devoted mother. A loving wife. A hard worker. A brilliant woman. These are all things that describe Kelli Kirchner. Her loved ones know her as a person that can be relied on, who can always give direction and be the rock that holds the foundations of her family steady. Her peers know her as a natural leader, who can take charge whenever and wherever she is needed. But behind the unwavering front of a strong, determined head of house lies an invisible struggle: chronic pain and illness.

Kirchner, 41, from Rockford, Illinois, is the epitome of a working-class American woman. She is a mother of three, bartends and serves at her job of 8 years, and spends her free time watching mindless television dramas well after her youngest kids have been put to bed. Her house is tidy and free of clutter, and her walls are covered in floral decor and inspirational quotes straight out of a Pinterest board. However, amidst the normalcy and expectation of a family woman such as herself lies the ever-present ache of chronic illness.

After the birth of her third and final child in 2016, Kirchner was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, a chronic disease that affects the large intestine and can cause open sores that appear upon the inflamed lining of the organ. “I was in the hospital for a month,” she explained, recalling her experience. “I went undiagnosed for so long, and then when they found the problem, I was devastated by the news. I literally thought I was dying.” 

Ulcerative colitis affects around 1 million Americans, and is a relatively uncommon diagnosis. There is no cure for the affliction, but those affected can get treatments that help decrease the amount of flare ups they might have and lessen the severity of flare ups should they start. 

For Kirchner, the disease simply acts as another weight she must shoulder. “Life doesn’t just get to stop,” she said frankly. “I have a family that needs me, I have a job to go to.” 

Every two months, Kirchner reports to her gastrointestinal doctor to receive infusion treatments that help her manage her ulcerative colitis. In receiving these treatments, however, her autoimmune system is suppressed, leaving her more susceptible to common illnesses, such as influenza and covid.

“I’ve been sick numerous times in the past year,” she stated. “It’s unavoidable with my job. The bar is full of people on the nights I work, and you can’t really avoid people who are sick.” 

Even when she is ill, Kirchner continues to act as her family’s rock. She will still take her children to school, still do chores around the house, and still make sure dinner is on the table. And even when she is not ill but her ulcerative colitis flares up, she still reports in for work and even takes over shifts for her coworkers when they need someone to cover for them. 

Her friend and former coworker, Geneva Mitchell, concurred on this. “She pretty much runs the place! Everyone really respects her. She is one of the hardest workers I know, and you can tell people really appreciate that.”

To most, she is an unshakeable force to be reckoned with, who cannot be perturbed by even such a life-changing diagnosis.

To herself, there are struggles she faces that people simply cannot see.

“People tend to forget that you’re not fine when you look fine,” she admitted. “When it’s not a visible thing, it’s like they think it’s not that bad, or that it’s all better.” 

Her husband, James Kirchner, detailed how the disease affects her behind closed doors. “She gets overwhelmed a lot. Stress makes it worse, so we help her however we can to try and keep that from happening.” 

With the support of her family, Kirchner is able to continue being the hard-working, reliable person people know her as, and knows that if she needs to take time to focus on her own health, her loved ones will be there to support her through it. “I have a pretty good village that surrounds me,” Kirchner said. “There are good days and bad days. It helps to look at it like, ‘it could be worse’, so I think about it that way for myself.”  

It can be difficult to navigate a busy lifestyle when dealing with chronic illness, but good support systems and an optimistic outlook can help one manage. With the right resources, people like Kelli Kirchner can continue to lead a happy and fulfilling life.

Realistic Headcanon: They both share a love for sci-fi movies and tv shows. When they hang out one-on-one, it’s usually to watch one of these shows and point out all the scientific inconsistencies.

Honestly, ripping on movies in general is a pastime both of them enjoy. This extends to the Gavineers music, an album that they both love to hate (although they tone it down when Apollo learns that their criticism actually hurts Klavier. They may not be big fans of the music, but they do care about the artist.)

Unrealistic (but hilarious) Headcanon: Ema gives Apollo the Shovel Talk when he starts dating Klavier. She doesn’t act like it, but she does care deeply for Klavier, and she would honestly feel horrible for the man if he got his heart broken. And she likes Apollo, but she just has to be sure that he won’t hurt Klavier.

Apollo is too endeared to be mad, surprised by Ema’s sudden protectiveness of the German prosecutor. Unfortunately he is sweared to secrecy not to tell Klavier about the Talk, Ema too embarrassed to let Klavier know that she doesn’t actually hate him, but Apollo remembers. And whenever Ema is a little shit about him dating Klavier, he always has ammo to throw right back at her.

(Klavier ends up finding out about the Talk anyway, much to Ema’s horror. He’s insufferable for days.)

Heart-Crushing and Awful Headcanon: Due to her forensic capabilities and the soft spot both the Chief Prosecutor and Nahyuta have for her, she’s constantly flitting back and forth between Japanifornia and Khura’in. She becomes an unwilling messenger between the WAA (plus a few others) and Apollo, bringing letters, occasionally packages, and even simple words wishing the other well.

It’s a more emotional job than she would have thought. She watches helplessly as Trucy finally breaks at the knowledge that Apollo really wasn’t going back, as Athena smiles sadly and gives her a care-package to deliver to her former coworker, as Mr. Wright reads a letter from Apollo with a mixture of pride and anguish. She sits with a heartbroken Klavier late at night, a few drinks towards tipsy, as Klavier coats Apollo’s most recent letter in tears.

She watches as Apollo, one of the strongest and most stubborn people she knows, crumples like a tower as he opens the first care package from the Agency, bawling loudly as he clutches a hand-knit sweater in his hands and tries not to get snot and tears over the other knickknacks and letters still sitting in the box. She watches him break into tears anew when he reads Klavier’s letter, an emotional piece that curls to the back of the page.

She can feel the homesickness like it’s a palpable thing. All she can do is offer a shoulder to cry on and hope that it’s enough.

Unrealistic Headcanon that will probably never happen: They’re both on the spectrum, with Apollo hyperfixating on law and Ema hyperfixating on forensic science! It’s something they both bond over, because while their other friends are far from ableist, they don’t understand like they do. (Although I would say that Trucy and Athena are exceptions, being on the spectrum as well, but since the focus of this ask is on Apollo and Ema I’ll save that for another time.)

Aside from their usual banter, they would often dissolve into excited rambling whenever they were left alone, info-dumping about their interests without the fear of being annoying or too much. It’s honestly really adorable, but point that out and you’d be dealing with two angry, indignant people who are ready to throw hands.

I would love more Maeve + Superstore thoughts, her friendship with Jonah sounds amazing

(i forgot about this in my drafts for too many days bc i’m a huge dummy don’t look at me here we go slamming post lmfao) oh boy, the tags were a 30 second long goof experiment but i'm always prepared to extend that for any scenario. let's make up some absolute nonsense for the lulz and cuteness.

literally do not ask me why posh brit accent maeve is working at a store in missouri because i don't have time for it and that's not part of the "everything here is for fun" theme.

one of her running gags is that she’s always talking about concepts for stories and tropes that she wants to explore/deconstruct, but anytime she’s asked about progress she’ll have some wild explanation for why she didn’t get very far into writing. there have been at least two rr martin comments made about how long it’s taken her to finish her first book. jonah, amy, sandra and cheyenne have all read some of her short stories/misc chapters of the first book because they’re here favorites full stop. final two seasons are for sure the “oh [bleep], maeve published her book and it’s really taking off” arc for her.

cheyenne is the little sister that she never had, they have matching nails and accessories all the time. maeve often does her hair for her because it’s fun to them and gives them chat time.

was genuinely intimidated and putoff by dina for a good while but i cannot be talked out of believing that they wouldn’t have a c-plot in a later season episode of maeve making dina look as hot as can be and trying to teach her how to flirt without being so blunt. is she successful with that last bit?? not really, but she gets to dress dina up and also receive some good advice on not taking people’s shit along the way so that’s fantastic (garrett’s dying in the background and that’s all part of the plan tbh)

obligatory b-plot of maeve having to explain bisexuality and polamory to the breakroom clowns because most of them can’t understand her love life. probably came about as a result of another running gag where maeve talks about one of her dates and it doesn’t add up with her former comments much to the confusion of her coworkers, and then she has to whip out the lecture because she gets accused of straight up lying or fooling around on her partner.

once accidentally made people think she and amy were going on a date because she told justine they were "going out for dinner tonight" and it started an entire Discussion behind their backs (she does, in fact, put out the offer to amy before leaving work. gotta shoot that shot, maybe amy’s feeling a little curious that night who knows a girl can dream)

she and jonah instantly connected and became great friends. they share a specific optimistic outlook in the way that they can see the world for what it could be instead of what it currently is and it’s something that brought them together, then kept them close even through the rough times. she loves his commitment and dedication to any cause that he undertakes, his efforts are inspiring and keep her going whenever her own start to waver. she is absolutely obsessed with how he consistently finds a way to put his foot in his mouth during any conversation, the yin to her yang as maeve’s known for being able to spin a web as quickly and for as long as necessary. their shared need to be validated and praised goes a long way between them because they’re annoyingly nice to each other all the time. they’re those two at the breakroom table talking animatedly about their latest interest or topic they picked up from a podcast/news article/reddit post (toxic masculinity, current politics, feminism, some obscure piece of history or a cryptid of the week, etc). he’s endlessly patient with her and she’s beyond thankful for it. flipside is that she unironically loves listening to him go off on his Woke Rants and gets bullied about it but doesn’t care, she’s there for him through the relationship struggles and does her best to give advice while not stepping over the line (might toe it once or twice but. what can you do, she’s a drama lover). she might have been late because beauty routines but she was also there each step of the way for the union work, besties get it done. maeve sweet talks them and then jonah goes on a righteous rant it’s a win/win.

i think it’s entirely possible she and jonah dated because of how well they get along, but i don’t see it lasting a crazy long time. maybe two, three months at the most (perhaps it’s mostly bc i’m an amy/jonah hoe and they belong together forever but whatever, don’t perceive me). a scenario where they’d both decide it’s better they stay friends and they get away with it without much weirdness, aka maeve’s fine and jonah or the coworkers makes it awkward sometimes before it settles. i do in fact think he’d be the first love interest of maeve’s that i can see her using “baby” as the primary petname because like,,,it’s jonah. you get it. if they dated, she has a photo taken of them from one of their dates taped up in her breakroom locker and it stays up there until she leaves the job bc she adores it so much.

insert bit where maeve makes a threesome joke with her + jonah and amy, and there’s a pause Just long enough with everyone looking between each other that it appears genuine consideration is there but the camera cuts before anything else is said. the world may never know what happened after that

everyone keeps trying to make drama between her and amy because they’re both close to jonah, but i fully believe maeve would adore and respect her far too much to reach any level of rivalry. she’d be in awe of how strong of a woman amy is between raising her children and working her ass off so successfully, and i imagine a lot of their bonding would be maeve persuading her into taking time for herself or them having girls’ nights (whether by themselves or with some of the others).

put the tabby obligated “they have two hands” joke here about maeve/amy/jonah. i haven’t put any thought into if it’d work out or if the other two could be into that sort of relationship but i’m legally and morally obligated to bring it up on the principle that it’s My Thing.

Okay, so I'm going to try and list off 10 songs by Danish artists, since listing off kpop songs would be too easy and a lot of you probably already know them. And since we all listen to kpop, I'm sure you won't mind giving some Danish a try 😁

Stor Mand - Tobias Rahim / Andreas Odbjerg: Okay but listen, this is my all-time favorite Danish song, though it's not even a year old. It's just such a vibe, and I cannot listen to this without singing along - all of my coworkers love it as well, (and I'm pretty sure it's the nr. 1 for 2021) so I feel like that says something. The lyrics are cryptic and weird, and it all feels a bit like a fever dream, but I love it 😂.

Fall So Hard / If It Weren't For You / Free Fall - Christopher: I know these aren't in Danish, but he's still a Danish artist, so it counts in my book. I'm pretty sure some of you might already know him from Bad, as it's been in the kpop circles for a while (Kihyun from Monsta X did a cover and Wooyoung from Ateez made a dance cover). His songs are pretty generic pop songs, but I just really like them either way.

Til Banken - Natasja, Mokuba, Tessa: I don't listen to a lot of Danish music, much less Danish rap, but this song is such a bop. Natasja was an iconic artist back in the early 2000s before she tragically died in a car accident. Years later in 2020, this song was released by a former bandmate of hers along with a feature of today's top female rapper. This whole song is basically about how the girls are gonna take over the music industry and leave all the boys in the dust on their way to the bank.

Endnu En - Nordstrøm: I don't really have a lot to say about this one, I just looove the vibe and the lyrics of it. An oldie but a goodie.

Øve På Hinanden - Fyr & Flamme: This was our entry for the 2021 Eurovision, and I am still bitter we never made it to the finals as it was, in my opinion, our best song in a while. It's just so fun and colorful and full of energy!

Sømand Ombord / Tarzan Mamma Mia / Jutlandia - Kim Larsen: Any Dane will know of Kim Larsen, and I have yet to meet a person who doesn't love at least most of his music. These three are just some of my faves from him, but I could have kept going. This man is a legend in the Danish music industry, and though he is no longer alive, his music will never die.

Solo Dance / All I Wanna Do - Martin Jensen: Another Dane making good English music, I just really like these songs, not much else to say.

Smukt Som Et Stjerneskud - Brødrende Olsen: We won the Eurovision 2000 with an English version of this song, but I think the Danish one is the best version of the two. If you know any Eurovision songs, you might know this as Fly On The Wings Of Love.

Danse I Månseskin - Trine Dyrholm: Now this one I didn't actually know was a Eurovision song until just now, but apparently we entered with this in 1987 😂. For me, it's a song we sang a lot back in school, and I still love it today.

Midsommersang - Shu-bi-dua: Shu-bi-dua is another pretty iconic group in Danish music and is usually known for their quirky (and sometimes a bit controversial) lyrics. This one is one of their more serious songs about the love of Denmark during the summer, and sometimes people sing this around the bonfires of Sankt Hans.

WandaVision Theory: Vision Will Rebel Against Wanda And It’s Gonna Get Ugly

A recurring theme in Wandavision seems to be that Vision suspects that something is amiss.

In the very first episode he’s already questioning the world around him, pointing out how his job doesn’t make any logical sense.

Vision: “Would you be so good as to tell me what it is we do here, exactly? Do we make something?”

Coworker: “No.”

Vision: “Right. Do we buy or sell something?”

Coworker: “No and no.”

Vision: “Then what is the purpose of this company?”

Coworker: “All I know is since you got here, productivity has gone up by 300%.”

Vision: “Yes, but what is it we’re producing?”

Most of the time he’s distracted from this uncomfortable line of questioning by the “plot” throwing things his way. But it doesn’t keep him from questioning things and he never forgets any of the strange happenings either, as proven by him recalling his boss’s almost choking in “Now In Color”.

While Wanda has done a good job so far of making him forget or simply undoing anything unusual he might see (the “bee keeper” in “Don’t Touch That Dial”, him confessing he thinks something’s wrong in “Now In Color”) she can’t be with him 24/7.

As “Now In Color” proves, even when freshly mind-wiped, Vision still keeps noticing strange things around him and his analytical mind never takes long to connect the dots. His conversation with Agnes and Herb about “Geraldine”, a.k.a Monica Rambeau and how she doesn’t really belong in Westview visibly affects him. When he’s back inside the house and notices she isn’t there anymore, he immediately asks Wanda where Geraldine went. And he doesn’t seem too satisfied with the answer Wanda gives him that Gerladine “had to rush home”.

I think his speech in that same episode in particluar is huge foreshadowing:

Vision: “It’s more than that (the people of Westview finding them out), isn’t it? Mr. and Mrs. Hart, dinner.... Outside with Herb... I think something’s wrong here, Wanda.”

Add to that the fact that Wanda, in contrast to Vision knows what’s going on, or at least knows that the Westview they live in right now is a fabrication, but chooses to not acknowledge it and keep living the lie.

For the record, I’m not saying not wanting to wake up makes Wanda a villain. She’s been through one traumatic event after another, it’s more than understandable she’d want to keep living in a world where she didn’t have to lose anything (or at least had to lose less) and got the happy ending she wished for. But is that fair to the citizens of Westview, who were forced into the situation and now live in constant terror of her? Is it fair for her to essentially brainwash Vision into not questioning anything? Heck, is it fair to Wanda herself to let her live something she can never truly have?

I imagine Vision will be asking these very same questions and they’ll have a huge disagreement over it. A disagreement that will most likely get violent.

The reason I say this, is because of a very poignant line in the newly released  Mid-Season Trailer (at 0:56).

Vision is asking someone “What is outside of Westview?”

And he sounds pretty distraught, even a little angry. The clip accompanying the line also shows him approaching the edge of Wanda’s barrier, looking like he’s about to cross it. His costume in that scene reveals that this takes place during the Halloween-episode already teased in the official trailer. The same episode, may I remind you, that features this exchange between Agnes and Vision:

Agnes: “Am I dead?”

Vision: “No! Why would you think that?”

Agnes: “Because you are!”

Now I doubt that’s gonna be the episode where Vision finds out everything. In fact, I theorize that this moment somehow takes place during a brief window in which Wanda isn’t “in control”, so to speak, which gives Vision the chance to interact with someone she isn’t currently brainwashing.

Wanda also seems to get more and more protective of her dreamworld and Vision especially. She violently ejects Monica when she accidentally outs herself as an Interloper and when Vision asks if she’s sure she wants to stay in Westview she tells him not to worry and that she has everything “under control”.

So Wanda now kind of knows what’s up but she doesn’t want to let go and will fight tooth and nail to keep her perfect world. Even if that means silencing her own husband and controlling his mind, for his own good, of course.

But will Vision want to play along?

I don’t think so.

Here’s my rough prediction of how this will go, based on the trailers:

During the Halloween-episode, Agnes tells Vision he’s dead, fueling his suspicions from “Now In Color” and “We Interrupt This Program”. However, before she can elaborate, Wanda gains back control and Agnes falls back into her sitcom-personality, doing the witch-cackle from the trailer and passing her remark off as a Halloween-prank. Vision doesn’t believe her.

Something then happens in-between, or maybe Agnes tells him something else, that leads him to wander to the edge of Westview. He discovers the barrier and attempts to cross it.

But the second he does, he is rapidly weakened and falls to his knees, because he cannot exist outside of Westview due to being dead in the real world.

Wanda somehow notices what he’s doing and manages to pull him back by force before he dies. Right before the eyes of S.W.O.R.D, who have seen Vision emerge.

After that, either for some reason Wanda’s memory erasure stops working on Vision (maybe because he made contact with the real world and is therefor now immune) or Wanda succeeds in erasing his memory of the event, but it either comes back or Vision starts asking questions again on his own.

I’m leaning more towards the former, because “What is outside of Westview?” would be a more justified question if Vision managed to catch at least a glimpse of the outside before Wanda retrieved him.

Vision starts to question both Westview and Wanda, demanding to know what is going on. Wanda refuses to tell him.

S.W.O.R.D. now convinced that a malevolent force is keeping everyone trapped, attempt to break into the barrier by force.

This causes a commotion inside and Vision, after realizing Wanda will never tell him the truth, decides to look for answers on his own. Wanda isn’t too happy about it and gears up to stop him by force.

I’m not sure what would happen after that, but it sure won’t be pretty.

Can’t wait for the next episode!

Summary: As a former Assassin himself, the formidable Silver Wolf Yukichi Fukuzawa can see through seemingly perfect disguises. You really should not have chosen ADA to work after fleeing the Order of the Clock Tower. 

Notes: I wrote this instead of polishing my Tetchou fic, someone yells at me to do things in order- You can sense clear parental issues here, so enjoy! The reader’s ability is modelled after Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights, the ability to control air currents. She is a former assassin leader of the Order of Clock tower, her superior being Lady Agatha Christie. I could have wrote this as a full fic, but I got too excited about a Mori fic and just...went with easy way with this one. The next part would be out next week by the latest.

You thought your facade is good enough, that your acquaintances are none the wiser. And you are correct, at least to a certain degree. But for a fellow former Assassin, it is not that difficult to decipher from the way you carry yourself. Fukuzawa, the president of your current organization, for one.

You had paid an old friend a good sum, who happens to be a government official, to cleanse your dirty past. Nobody would find anything now, not even yourself.

To avoid any suspicions, you created this bubbly innocent girl mask for your coworkers, to gain their trust so even if the Order finds out about you they would have a hard time pursuing you. You never were particularly close to anyone, even when you let Naomi come to your shopping trips from time to time after her endless pleas. “Your western style is just so cute! I want to try it!!” Of course, you cannot say no. Guess Lady Christie was right, if you wear a mask long enough it would fuse in with your true self.

You act just like any other secretary in the ADA, polite, properly-dressed, hardworking and always ready to pick up any agent’s slack on paperwork(mainly Dazai’s). He notices how you would blend well with the background with that quiet nature, your presence barely noticeable, just like what he used to be in his assassin days. You also have a sweet voice and would look up to him with those adorable feline-like eyes while reading meeting reports to him.

No, no Yukichi, she is your employee, not a stray kitten you encountered in a park. You cannot pat her on the head or squeeze her cheeks, it would be inappropriate. He had to scold himself so very often, whenever you smile to greet him at his desk or wish him a good evening when you leave work. Maybe that is why he hired you, a foreigner with little work experience in Japan.

Since you are only a clerk, Fukuzawa assumed you did not possess a special ability, therefore he did not bother to check your background thoroughly. However, there is something that distinguishes you from the norms like Kirako Haruno or Naomi Tanizaki. Your quick reflexes are unusual for a civilian. His suspicions were confirmed thanks to Ranpo.

When Ranpo accidentally pushed one of his donuts off the table, you snatched a napkin, crouched down and caught the pastry with one hand. All done within half a second, without dropping a single sheet of the files on your other hand. Even Ranpo was impressed and gave you a few words of praise. You responded with a sheepish smile, but that smile does not look so harmless to Fukuzawa anymore. That is when Fukuzawa took a particular interest in you, who are you really? Those moves would take years of training to mould into one’s instincts.

You have hidden pockets in that skirt? He could just be paranoid, but that size is enough to fit a mini-gun or a dagger. In fact, you do carry these things around, old habits die hard. Decades of Assassin life had made you insecure without a weapon to hold. But young women often carry self-defence mechanisms right? Surely you would need them since you are just so cute. Is he just overthinking things?

Using his connections, the ADA president got a copy of your records from the Government Database. But they are nothing out of the ordinary, almost too normal. Maybe you are just blessed with natural talents, not some government spy.  Because that could mean big problems, as Fukuzawa hates the government to stick their noses into his Agency.

“(Y/n)-san? She is a nice girl. She is always willing to help out everyone with their troubles. Hah, one time she even went to drag Dazai out from a ditch!”

“When the powers are out, (y/n)-chan brought lots and lots of candles for us. I cannot be more grateful.”

“She loves sweets and would often bake me some! (y/n)-chan calls me her test subject for her confectionery arts, not that I mind as long as I get half of her chocolate cookies!”

Only words of praise and gratitude, Fukuzawa cannot seem to find a single bit of negativity related to you? You are so friendly towards everyone, no one ever saw you in a different mood other than cheerfully happy.

The more Fukuzawa learns about you, the more invested he becomes. Even though it started as an investigation, he had grown fond of you rather quickly. Soon enough he finds himself smiling back to your greetings and goodbyes, even sneaking gazes full of fondness when you were not noticing.

Hm, so the agency president had taken a special interest in you huh? That is better than ideal. Now you can sleep soundly at night without ten traps set up in your apartment. People usually protect what they love right? Now you got the powerful Silver Wolf, an elite swordsman as your bodyguard!

These little actions did not get past the observations of Ranpo Edogawa. You are pleasant to have around, and if you marry the president would mean you would never leave the ADA right? He can have those delicious sweets for the rest of his days! His sensei is happy, and he got an endless supply of delicious food, sounds like a win-win to him.

So when Fukuzawa asked him to use his Ultra Deduction on you, little Ranpo did not suspect a thing and gladly obliged.

“(y/n)-chaan is a skilled assassin, with at least ten years of experience...And served in the Order of the Clock Tower as one of their finest knights, but she is currently on exile.” Ranpo and Fukuzawa exchange a glance, mixed with shock and horror. Both stayed silent for a while, digesting the unbelievable truth Ranpo just dug up.

So, his hunch was correct. But how can you, a charming lady who would help the elderly to cross the street, would give up your seat on the train to pregnant women, would help out anyone in need used to be a cold-blooded assassin? (These are all classic kindness gestures in Asia, in case anyone is confused)

Can Fukuzawa imagine you in black tights(eh idk how this came up), ending people’s lives while lurking in the shadows? No, it is physically impossible. He lived that kind of life, how can you turn out to appear so innocent? Unless you hid your evils exceptionally well. This sends a chill down his spine, the thought of someone who can fool the entire Agency of intelligent agents…

You may not harbour any ill-will towards them yet, but you still pose a major potential risk regardless. You can feed the agents poisonous cakes and even Kunikida would eat them without question. Some precautions need to be taken.

“Sensei, you like (y/n)-chan, right? Why not take her in and watch her every move, make sure she is no threat?” Another win-win situation, if you ask Ranpo. You would have all the time in the world to bake! Wouldn't that be amazing?

His smart apprentice never disappoints.
