guys please PLEASE here me out on this kny au idea
————————————————————————
ok yall watched Puss in Boots the last wish?? and have seen the 2019 kny halloween costumes???
guys…. them as puss and death…
PLEASE
idk how this cooked in my head but i can’t get it out after rewatching the movie
so obviously the others would be in this- i’ll get there don’t worry let me cook
tengen would obviously be a bit of a cocky bastard because he’s never been caught or killed, being the successful pirate he is, he considers himself almost untouchable. but he’s avoided death too many times— he was supposed to be dead ages ago. and then giyuu comes in.
giyuu was of course pissed off and agitated that some albino lil pirate bitch kept avoiding his clutches, so he decided to take him himself
then this scene is probably gonna be the first scene of this au, just them meeting in a bar
and the sizes would, of course, be swapped. tengens a big guy who is currently sitting next to the embodiment of death and the purge of the sea and doesn’t suspect a thing— because no way he’s taller than death! he’s not looking up at death, he’s looking down
just like he has been for his whole life
giyuu didn’t say anything (typical) and simply drank with him until tengen got a bit suspicious and felt uneasy about him. giyuu then pulled the same thing death did and told tengen “i’m a big fan- could you sign this for me?”
then pulls out the “wanted- dead or alive” thing and points to dead. then the whole fight scene happens, but it’s a bit different. tengen did land a hit on giyuu, successfully cutting giyuu in half at the stomach. but nothing happened. giyuu just simply put himself back together and acted like nothing happened, he simply said “you do live up to the legends.”
of course, tengen was confused and a bit worried now, giyuu didn’t care, he had an objective and he would complete it
the famous scene of puss actually getting touched by a blade would be blue, a bright yet dark blue— like the seas tengen rules, he just didn’t know that they’d be ruled by someone else (giyuu). also another overall headcanon for giyuu is that he’s a scary guy when he really wants to be
as for the others, i do have some ideas for them
these two are giyuu’s angel and devil on his shoulders, throughout the au, these two are helping giyuu with his decisions and even with fights! they’re like giyuu’s lil summons
i had to add genya my beloved
but yes, giyuu’s lil hell hound babygi— i mean super tough and cool is sanemi ft. two other lil hounds. genya just came along because sanemi made him(he couldn’t find a babysitter). but genya is very determined to impress his big brother.
instead of death being alone i just thought it’d be cool to have a little team for death hehe
also just found out i have a limit of ten images so ima just let yall find the 2019 halloween pics for kny (can be found of pinterest and google!) sigh 😔
but yeah, the rest of the hashira are helping tengen! most of em at least. himejina, kyojuro and muichiro are spirits that are simply wondering around, kinda sorta avoiding being put in the underworld (giyuu is going insane because of that)
and shinobu is a witch! she’s a very talented (and scary) one at that, she’s more than willing to help(may or may not have questions for death about a certain sister of hers)
mitsuri and obanai come together DO NOT SEPARATE! mitsuri is a kitsune while obanai has a big old snake buddy (with kaburamaru) (long ass name for a snake) also obanai did NOT want to go.
the kamaboko squad id also here!! but they’re the comedic breaks for this au, god bless their souls for that
and yes, giyuu shall speak spanish in this too, cause why not
————————————————————————
wowzers this is long (that’s what she said)
#demon slayer#kny#kimestu no yaiba#kimetsu no yaiba#hashira#hashira training arc#puss in boots#the last wish#giyuu tomioka#tengen uzui#kyojuro rengoku#misturi kanroji#obanai iguro#gyomei himejima#shinobu kocho#kamaboko squad#tanjiro kamado#nezuko kamado#zenitsu agatsuma#inosuke hashibira#kanao tsuyuri#genya shinazugawa#<- i’m so sane#yall could give me an office art of kny and id make an au about#DONT TEST ME#i will win#i think#i love these dumb sillies sm#this is gotta be my most detailed piece ever for an au#i gotta do this more often

hc! first date & movie nights with van
van palmer x fem!reader
summary: first date with van and my personal movie related headcanons!!
pls let me know if i made a mistake, it's my first time writing for a non binary character and i dont wanna mess it up <3
warnings: van is non binary!!, established relationship and marriage (you lucky bastard), slightly domestic life at the end, cursing, no crash but huh..., reader and van being two awkward idiots at first, spoilers of movies i guess?, all the girls are friends, fluff, english mistakes and not proofread
- of course that your first date with van consisted in going out for movies and you were both SO excited!!
- you knew that van had a tough relationship with their mom and instead of going to their house to pick them up, they showed up at your door wearing a blue windbreaker jacket over a striped shirt and brown cargo pants, holding a vhs with a collection of vhs with movies that reminded them of you <33
- safe to say that you were both sweating like crazy and giving each other awkward smiles or saying nonsense just to fill the silence
- sometimes you or van would say the stupid shit ever. while waiting in line for tickets, a bunch of teenage boys walked by you carring footballs and van said "boys always have balls with them, don't they?"
- "what?" you ask, pursing your lips to avoid laughing like crazy
- "nothing."
- van would always be willing to have the entire movie theater experience and i think they would be happy to buy some popcorn and a lot of sweets if you liked it. but ever since their teenage years to adulthood, in movies like a quiet place, they would buy absolutely no food to avoid noises and would give people the death stare because they were chewing too loud (so right)
- either way, van wanted everything to be special and didn’t want to sound like a movie freak. surprisingly, this once the movie didn’t matter. it wasn’t the main attraction. you were.
- you chose primal fear with richard gere, trying your best to impress them. besides it was a crime thriller movie thing and if you ever get scared, you could ‘innocently’ hold their hand for reassurance
- obviously, van guessed the plot halfway the movie but didn't want to ruin it for you. in the last 30 minutes of the movie, you look at them with an invested look, whispering "i bet that aaron is a liar, he acts too innocent!" while nervously shoving more popcorn into your mouth
- van already knew that. but seeing you so focused on something they loved so much and actually excited about it made their heart melt "what? no way!" they try to sound surprised and do their best to pretend that they don't believe your theory.
- (they were so proud!!)
- "i can't believe you didn't saw that coming! it was so obvious, van!" you tease them as soon as you left the room, non-stop talking about the movie
- "shut up." but they didn't mean it. they were happily listening to your words and smiling the entire time, not being able to look away from you :(
- you and van went out for a milkshake after the movies and were discussing that first scene of scream where casey's boyfriend is tied up on a chair by ghostface. "that poot guy didn't even stand a chance!" you excitedly say as you sip on your chocolate milkshake. "it must be an awful day to die."
- "maybe you should tie me up!" van mutters with a sly smirk, knowing too well that it would made you blush
- you gasp, jaw dropped and pinkish cheeks while you tried to cover their mouth by leaning yourself from across the table
- standing in the porch of your house, van had their hands on your waist and your palms touch their face while you share your first kiss. you were both really nervous but their lips were so soft that you immediately felt relaxed. you could even taste the strawberry.
- when van and the girls would watch movies together, van would always beg to be the one to pick and make sure that it was the perfect choice. of course that perfect meant something longer than 2 hours and with a lot of social commentary or something considered weird. in horror, thriller or serial killer movies like scream, van and misty would be detective partners together and would probably figure what was going on in ten minutes and ruin it for everyone else
- (deeply believe that van would love the lobster in 2015 and would be happy to explain to you all of their theories or techniques used in the movie and why is it so good even though you were suspicious that they only watched it because of rachel weisz. you wouldn’t understand much but were always happy to hear your spouse talk about things they loved)
- that doesn’t mean that they don’t like some cheesy romcoms or something silly like but i’m a cheerleader or the duff. they were SO obsessed with biac when it came out and couldn’t stop talking about it for MONTHS!!
- “shit, shauna! that girl looks exactly like you!” nat gasped when all the girls decided to watch the movie with van knowing how much they liked it and how good it was for lesbians at the time. shauna rolled her eyes while everyone was laughing and chattering about how she was hilary’s lost twin or something
- “come on, you gotta choose!”when they finally agreed to watch the entire twilight saga, that was your first question as soon as the screen of your tv turned black. they had to choose between jacob or edward and you wouldn’t take no for an answer
- “are you serious? those movies are ridiculous! they are so unrealistic and stereotyped.” van adds, slouched on the couch. "and that weird baby looks exactly like rosemary's baby!"
- you and van lived together after getting married, duh, and every friday was considered movie night. van would close the video store earlier and you would run to the couch with big buckets of popcorn and cozy blankets
- “i know…” you can't help but giggle at the thought of that weird thing they used for renesmee. you also knew that your partner was right. but still, you needed an answer. you had spent hours of your day watching all of that nonsense and what hurt would do if they chose a side?
- “ok, fine.” they groan, wanting to make you happy despite all of their hate for those movies. “edward.”
- “yeah!” you celebrate van's choice, grabbing a bunch of popcorn with your hands. “i hate jacob, he’s so manipulative!” you add
- “okay, okay. don’t get all excited.” van gives you a death stare but you know that they don’t mean it when their lips are begging to curl up in a smile when seeing you excited. t hey disliked the movies, sure, but even though the movies and books were terrible van would always be happy to be near you all the time even if it meant to watch those stupid things.
- "that plot twist in the last movie was good. i'll give you that." and you smile at their attempt to compliment the movie and make you happy
- “but i don’t care about edward. i just don’t like wolves.” van shruggs and you look at themwith furrowed eyebrows. “what? why?”
- “i just have a bad feeling about them!” and you laugh.

Nightmare, secret, hate, and future for Ko’a? i have them on the brain rn :D
-@annothersummerofsleep
Ooooh, thank you!!
nightmare: What does your OC have nightmares about? How do they deal with their nightmares? Do they tell people, or keep it to themself?
For most of the story, Ko'a has occasional nightmares like a normal person. For a good portion of that time, they share a bed with their sibling Nalki and would either snuggle closer or get up to wander around in the cool, damp night. It wouldn't occur to them to talk about it, and usually they didn't remember them anyway. It wasn't until post-coup that it got bad. At that point, Ko'a shares a bedroom with all three of their siblings and their child, but also becomes really withdrawn and so when they regularly dream about losing {redacted} and about the fire and terror of the coup, they wake up shaky or crying but keep it soft and to themself. Sometimes they go sit outside under the stars.
secret: What's one secret your OC never wants anyone to know about them?
Ooh, this one is tough because Ko'a is a pretty open person. If anything, I think they keep secret how afraid they are all the time. They never feel like they can trust that they'll get to keep their home. To be fair, they do get unexpectedly torn away from people and places they love approximately once a decade. So they always keep a few things with them that they couldn't bear to lose, just to help with the anxiety.
hate: What does your OC hate? Why? How do they act towards the object of their hatred?
Ko'a is full of big emotions and could be said to hate a good many concepts and things when young, from vegetables to math to people's reaction to their face. But the first person they hate is the one they're forced to marry.
Now, arranged marriages are normal in Halara and to be expected. They always figured they would have one. But it's different as a commoner and a noble. Commoner parents tend to take their child's input into account, allow them to veto any match they make, and if it doesn't work out later they can always divorce. Practicality of the children's chosen careers together are taken into account, as are their personalities, and it's often two who went to school together.
Nobility make arrangements based primarily on political gain, with the caveat (that doesn't exist for commoners) that they must be theoretically reproductively compatible. A loving parent might still take their child's desire into account, but it can never be the primary concern and plenty of children are told instead of asked. Especially a bastard lucky to claim a noble title at all.
This all especially caught Ko'a off guard because they had begun to assume as a servant that they would be making their own match with another unattached castle worker, which is less common but not unheard of if one has no family or moves far from them. And then they were betrothed to this noble they didn't know and barely saw over the 7 (?) years they were betrothed. And, basically, the two were extremely incompatible and Ko'a's spouse was used to demanding whatever they wanted and getting it, and thought Ko'a should be meekly grateful just to be there both as a bastard and because of their facial difference. Ko'a was never, ever meek and wouldn't put up with this, but had no say in being isolated on the estate. So they grew sly and cold and quietly angry for a long while, until they found a way to demand some agency back.
future: What's the worst possible future for your OC? Are they taking steps to avoid that outcome? Are they even aware it's a possibility?
Hmmmmmm. I think the worst outcome for Ko'a involves (1) losing people they love, (2) being trapped in a lonely situation with little agency, and (3) having no end to their predicament in sight. All of these things happen to them over the course of the story, but never all at once. All at once would break them.
Well, it sort of does almost happen with their marriage but they find a solution to that before going mad over it

digging up bones
I guess if I'm up and already in a bad mood about it
might as well go through some of the thoughts
I was thinking about unearthing later on today
maybe it'll exhaust me and I can go back to sleep
my mood can't get worse and there is no dopamine
anywhere to be found because I've exhausted all sources
let's talk about why I don't want to get a therapist
by collecting quotes from experiences from the past
I had one who decided to laugh in my face about
my love for Jung and my thinking I was autistic
his ego couldn't handle my knowing shit about myself
and other things he couldn't quite grasp
once during a conversation about my childhood sexual abuse
he actually said to me with no sense of his depravity
"no wonder they couldn't resist you"
what the actual fuck my dude I was a child
he stopped seeing me when I turned the tables on him
and got him to confess all the things he used to do
when he was a dangerous guy just like his father
by mimicking his behavior and following his patterns
kind of seems like that pattern recognition and masking
should have rang a few bells but he didn't want to believe it
he told me my feminine energy was weaker than his male energy
but he sterilized himself like a gelding because he feared
bringing another kid into the world that felt
as fucked up as he did every day
I guess I'm still kind of mad at him
I think he might have been one of the first people I trusted
with all those dirty little secrets I was forced to hold since I was born
I didn't plan to become the therapist and hear his story
I was just following the rhythm of the conversation
but once he lost the power he felt he didn't want to look me
again in the eyes and it was confusing
because nothing he said was even that bad
my most recent therapy experience was marriage counseling
I knew that was going to be a fucking joke
and I was so used to being silenced by the man in the room
that I exploded out in a monologue of trauma dumping
desperate to be seen as someone who was tough and dealt with shit
far worse than the lanky bastard sitting next to me
who wouldn't let me have emotions without trying
to smother me under every avoidant wall of stone
ugh, I do not want to be awake and I'm so angry
and not even fun arson angry just petulant and mean
I did end that therapy experience with a three page letter
I wrote about all the reasons I was completely
over my doomed marriage and the man involved in it
and all the reasons he wasn't shit
but written eloquently and logically
because I'd had plenty of time to prepare
It was fun having an audience and his surprised pikachu face
will always be one that I remember fondly
fuck you asshole you know what you've been doing
the female therapist I went to the year before
to tell about the patterns of abusive behavior I'd documented
and the reasons I had for needing to leave the dysfunction
was met by a woman the age of my mother
who must have saw a silly daughter making a mistake
because she asked if psychological abuse was his only sin
and told me successful men were hard to find
I had fun the rest of the sessions talking about how
out of all the religious texts I read the bible was the most dry
and boring and I just wish I could get into it
and all the crosses and scriptures she had around her office
and the way her face pinched when I said those things
really made it difficult for us to synch up after that
to be fair I was always willing to make it work
I did have one therapist that was the best
her name was Elise and it scares me to think of calling her
I wonder if it's because of the unpaid account
or the fear of rejection or knowing I get to tell her
how everything went to shit after I came into her office
with my youngest as a baby and a glowing happiness
to my presence because I thought I finally
found something that I ended up losing as time went on
well, saying that I lost it is not very accurate
you don't lose someone's respect
they decide to stop giving it to you
and I have a difficult time tolerating that in relationships
I will blind myself for awhile but there does come a point
where something clicks and suddenly I'm on fire
because I'll be damned and choose damnation
before I let a little bitch boy like that make me die
it would be so fucking easy to make him cry
well, this little think piece shows I definitely need a therapist
and I guess getting those shitty thoughts out is one less thing
I have to muddle through tomorrow to find motivation
I'll call Elise and see if I have problems to solve
to get to go back and see her
she saw me and knew me right away
and she helped me get through a situation
that I'm going to have to walk through again
and she was great at it last time
fuuuuuuck this all sucks and I hate it
custody battles and shitty apartments and lawyers
building another new life and climbing out of another grave
it could be worse
I could be as scared as I was last time when I did it
I'm not scared I just know it's going to suck
Elise was the first one to coin the term "the Dani filter"
to describe the way I mask in my bubbly upbeat way
I wonder what she'll think of me now if we get to meet again
I think she'll appreciate my darker wit and my cynical smile
she knew how my mind worked right away
and said that I changed her mind completely
about behavior theory because I guess
when I decide to do or become something
and actually commit to it I surprised her with how
I can change my behavior and patterns on a dime
and never go back to them
you wouldn't know anything about that, would you?
alright now I feel like I did something
so my mood is less angsty and I have a move to make
still not tired but maybe that'll come soon
call Elise tomorrow and if that doesn't pan out
it's back to the drawing board
but I'll find someone and it'll be fine
and if it's not I'll find someone else
I am getting the fuck out of this stagnant energy
otherwise I'm going to start getting destructive
and that helps nobody
especially not me

august wrap up!
ngl i was in a bit of a slump this month!! it was tough (especially since i started my realm of the elderlings reread/continuation) but i pressed on!! that said, the wrap-up for august is a bit short. but any reading is good reading, so let's get into it!
DNF(s):
First Rider's Call - explanation
The Wandering Inn - soft dnf, explanation
Books read:
ღ title: Assassin's Apprentice
 author: Robin Hobb
ღ rating: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌘
ღ description:
Young Fitz is the bastard son of the noble Prince Chivalry, raised in the shadow of the royal court by his father's gruff stableman. He is treated as an outcast by all the royalty except the devious King Shrewd, who has him secretly tutored in the arts of the assassin. For in Fitz's blood runs the magic Skill--and the darker knowledge of a child raised with the stable hounds and rejected by his family.
As barbarous raiders ravage the coasts, Fitz is growing to manhood. Soon he will face his first dangerous, soul-shattering mission. And though some regard him as a threat to the throne, he may just be the key to the survival of the kingdom.
ღ thoughts: i have officially start my realm of the elderlings reread/continuation!! i read the entirety of the farseer trilogy a year or so ago and while i LOVED it, it left me very burnt out at the end and i ended up not continuing the wider series because the next trilogy was a series of ~800 page books which i simply could not handle at the time. i'm determined to read and finish the series this time no matter how long it takes, and my strategy is to just take as long as i need to get through the books this time while also reading other books at the same time so i don't have to put my TBR on hold for however long it might take me to get through.
so anyway! this book was just as good as i remembered. you get a lot of the lore in this first book as you watch fitz grow up. there isn't a lot of actual plot until the end but it was still overall a good time! it has one of my favorite plot bases of the protag getting dropped into a mess and just doing their best with what they have. looking forward to continuing it!
ღ cw's:
Graphic: Animal death, Child abuse, Emotional abuse
Moderate: Suicidal thoughts, Violence, Death
Minor: Infertility, Death of parent, Alcoholism
ღ title: Funny Story
ღ author: Emily Henry
ღ rating: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗
ღ description: Daphne always loved the way her fiancé Peter told their story. How they met (on a blustery day), fell in love (over an errant hat), and moved back to his lakeside hometown to begin their life together. He really was good at telling it…right up until the moment he realized he was actually in love with his childhood best friend Petra.
Which is how Daphne begins her new story: Stranded in beautiful Waning Bay, Michigan, without friends or family but with a dream job as a children’s librarian (that barely pays the bills), and proposing to be roommates with the only person who could possibly understand her predicament: Petra’s ex, Miles Nowak.
Scruffy and chaotic—with a penchant for taking solace in the sounds of heart break love ballads —Miles is exactly the opposite of practical, buttoned up Daphne, whose coworkers know so little about her they have a running bet that she’s either FBI or in witness protection. The roommates mainly avoid one another, until one day, while drowning their sorrows, they form a tenuous friendship and a plan. If said plan also involves posting deliberately misleading photos of their summer adventures together, well, who could blame them?
But it’s all just for show, of course, because there’s no way Daphne would actually start her new chapter by falling in love with her ex-fiancé’s new fiancée’s ex…right?
ღ thoughts: emily henry simply never misses!! this is my 3rd read of hers and she simply can't write a bad book i fear. i don't think i've ever given one of her books five stars but i've never given any of them under 4. everyone and their mother was talking about how much they loved this book and i found out they were not wrong once i finally got around to reading it. loved the whole concept of living with your exes-new-partner's-ex. serious props for coming up with fresh wacky romcom situations and making them work mrs. henry!! will be tuned in for your next work! Riva’s heard stories of the creatures who are believed to inhabit there. Riva is forced to face the dangers of the swamplands or risk being drug back to town. She knows this is her only chance at freedom.
After years of living as an outcast, Kal has finally ensnared the ultimate prize- a bride. This human female is small, pliable, and will soon carry his child. Only then can he return to his clan. His plans of returning home as a proud male with a wife by his side, are soon thwarted when he learns he’s not the only male after Riva’s hand in marriage.
As Riva trades in one bridegroom for another, Kal must prove that he is the only male worthy enough to claim her. Will this unlikely pair learn the true meaning of love or are they destined to be kept apart forever?
ღ thoughts: listen. read the description. whatever you think you're going to get from this book based off of the description: that is indeed exactly what you get from it. i don't really have much else tto say. quick read, got exactly what i came for.

ღ description:
Meet Winter Young – International pop sensation, with a voice like velvet and looks that could kill. His star power has smashed records, selling out stadiums from LA to London. His rabid fans would move heaven and earth for even a glimpse of him – just imagine what they’d do to become his latest fling.
Meet Sydney Cossette – Part of an elite covert ops group, Sydney joined their ranks as their youngest spy with plans to become the best agent they’ve ever had. An ice queen with moves as dangerous as her comebacks, Sydney picks up languages just as quickly as she breaks hearts. She's fiery, no-nonsense, and has zero time for romance – especially with a shameless flirt more used to serving sass than taking orders.
When a major crime boss gifts his daughter a private concert with Winter for her birthday, Sydney and Winter's lives suddenly collide. Tasked with infiltrating the crime organization’s inner circle, Sydney is assigned as Winter's bodyguard with Winter tapped to join her on the mission of a lifetime as a new spy recruit. Sydney may be the only person alive impervious to Winter's charms, but as their mission brings them closer, she’s forced to admit that there's more to Winter Young than just a handsome face . . .
ღ thoughts: this was a pretty fun read! giving very much spies and high-tech and everything involved in that. the atmosphere matches the vibes of the book perfectly and the romance itself was cute, but overall it didn't give everything i wanted it to give. not a bad book by any means, but not what i wanted when i read the premise. (full review here)

ღ title: Royal Assassin

ღ description:
Fitz has survived his first hazardous mission as king’s assassin, but is left little more than a cripple. Battered and bitter, he vows to abandon his oath to King Shrewd, remaining in the distant mountains. But love and events of terrible urgency draw him back to the court at Buckkeep, and into the deadly intrigues of the royal family.
Renewing their vicious attacks on the coast, the Red-Ship Raiders leave burned-out villages and demented victims in their wake. The kingdom is also under assault from within, as treachery threatens the throne of the ailing king. In this time of great danger, the fate of the kingdom may rest in Fitz’s hands—and his role in its salvation may require the ultimate sacrifice.
ღ thoughts: this one is definitely a slower read than the first book, and longer to boot. there's a lot more character work in this book and while there is more action in the plot it also somehow feels like it's constantly teetering on a knife's edge that doesn't really tip until the end. that said, i still very much enjoyed the ride. fitz is actually my son and this book just renewed my love for him with every chapter. i have a such a soft spot for "weapon first, person second" character and there were scenes that made me want to CRY in this one. he goes through so much and he's only a teenager and i am very emotional. (full review here)

Joy needs a deal with a demon to bring an end to the man who’d ruined her life. Malachi needs a deal with a human so he can remain in the mortal realm, far from the sentries looking to drag him back to his sect in hell.
It’s a match seemingly made in heaven. Except, Malachi doesn’t expect Joy’s thirst for vengeance to taste so sweet, and Joy doesn’t expect a freaking demon to revive everything in her she’d thought long-dead.
After the deal is struck, and the contract has come to an end, they both realize that one contract will not nearly be enough.

It has been a long time since Jack just slept, normally the memories came. He'd never found a way to quieten them, never wanting to turn to booze like so many he knew. But that night he'd slept, there was something about her, just being in her presence, it calmed him, quietened the thoughts he wanted to forget.
Whatever it was, he slept in late, past the time he'd intended to be watching for her. Stopping by his office for the mail a man was waiting, his client. Jack thought of him as "the client" because the name he'd given was obviously fake. "Call me Reginald" he'd said at they're first meeting, not noticing or perhaps just not caring that Jack spotted the obvious lie. But times were tough and his money was good, so Jack took the job, but he'd been doing this long enough to leave himself an out, the money was on delivery of the report, he could walk away if he smelled a rat, and something was starting to stink.
'Reginald' was not impressed, "What am i paying you for?! It's been days and you've given me nothing!".
"Well you're not paying me yet, payment when I give you the report, so no report until I'm ready to give it to you. What's your interest in her anyway? Doesn't seem like she'd have much to do with you."
The client was oily, avoiding the question, setting Jack on edge: "Well surely you have something, perhaps I could give you an interim payment for your findings so far"
"When it's ready, that was our deal, and I decide when it's ready." Jack wanted this man out of his office, there was something he didn't trust "and now I need to be going, work to do"
He made sure 'Reginald' left the office before him, that the door was locked. Never let a snake get behind you, Jack had learned that one the hard way. He'd never let it reach his face, but Jack smiled to himself when he saw that 'Reginald's car was missing it's hood ornament and had a big scratch down the side, serves the bastard right.
Watching Ella hadn't got him anywhere so he decided to see what else he could find, nobody noticed the urchins, but they noticed everything. After picking up some loaves from the bakery he wandered down Seventh, a lot of the urchins slept in the old garage, and it's amazing what you could pick up just listening in while they ate.
But when he turned the corner it was clear the garage was empty, not just empty but cleared out. The hairs stood up on the back of Jack's neck, there was something not right here, something very wrong. Falling back to his instincts Jack started to investigate, noting the tire tracks, a large truck had been here, and some paint scratched off on the gatepost. Oddly enough, the same distinctive color Jack had seen this morning on the client's car.
This was a rough part of town, and bad things could happen to the street kids, but that's why they grouped up for the night. There's no way they would all have disappeared, Jack sat to think a bit, there was something very wrong going on here...... and he was not a man to ignore something wrong, job or not.
There was one thing about sleeping in a chair, you always woke with the sorest back. Ella grunted as she moved in a way that would have disgusted her father. Born before the end of the last century, he had brought his ideals from that time too. So proper, and a lady did not grunt.
No, she really did not want revisit thoughts of her childhood this morning. She needed to get home and get cleaned and changed before anyone came to call on her, and she had expected guests today.
Olivia would have to wait for her this morning. How could she have been so silly as to have fallen asleep here. Well, that was obvious, she used her magic and the cost had been her energy. Magic always had a cost. Still the sleep and helped and she felt refreshed.
She stretched out her back and took a deep breath and stopped. There was a hint of energy in the room. Someone had been in here. She looked at the blanket that had fallen to the ground and smiled. It had probably been Mildred or Alec, come to check on her. Still, it didn’t feel quite familiar. Perhaps Alec had picked something up dealing with Billy. That had to be it.
She shrugged off the thought and moved to the blue door to lock it. She reset the bells and then headed home.
She was still drying her hair when Sylvia and Martha arrived. They checked on her twice a week, on the guise of checking on her, but Ella knew that it was just that in her home they could be themselves, forget about the lives that they had and the responsibilities.
They brought the pastries, Ella had the tea, and would teach them to read the leaves after. It was a nonsense kind of parlour trick. Anyone could read another if they really wanted to, no matter what you used, you could work out what they wanted to hear and that was all she gave them.
“Danielle, you look positively pale. You have not been looking after yourself have you? Did you even touch that casserole I made you?”
Ella smiled. “Of course I did, it was delicious.”
She had eaten some of it, the rest had fed some hungry children. Sylvia would not have minded.
“Not sleeping again? Worry for Stuart?”
Ella made a non-committal movement in her shoulders. She did not wish to lie, did not wish to tell the real reason she was pale. The conversation quickly turned to Martha and her husband. She was quite certain he was stepping out on her with his secretary. She was nearly right but that was not a conversation that Ella wanted to have with Martha. Martha would not understand and he was not ready to admit what he wanted, perhaps never would. Few would be accepting of those choices.
The conversation continued for much of the morning before Martha needed to go home, Sylvia following after her so Martha’s driver could drop her home first. Ella waved them off from the front yard, checked the mail and headed inside.
She had no worry for Stuart, she had stopped worrying years ago. There was no point in it, she had no say in where he was or what he was doing. She was not even allowed to know what it was most of the time. It had been seven months since she had seen him and she had no idea when he might grace her with a letter let alone the news he was coming home on leave.
Her mood soured slightly thinking about it, and she threw herself into some gardening, ripping out some creeper vines from two of the bushes in the backyard. She discovered there were wild roses caught in the mess of the back corner, she had been neglecting it. The garden had been Stuart’s pride and joy but he was never home to deal with it.
She wiped some sweat from her brow rocking back on her heels when she heard the bells. The sound most insistent. She knew she needed to change before she headed back, so she quickly did so, grabbed the paper bags of food from the kitchen table and crossed back into her other home. Knowing that she was expected to be out, she snuck out the back, and looped around the block so she approached from the outside.
Dominic was beating wildly on her door, and Olivia was sitting on the step. They both turned to her.
“Dom? Why do you look so flustered.”
“They cleared out Seventh Ave last night, I just heard. There were at least thirteen souls in the old garage. I know you have friends on the force, I need to know if they were arrested or if it is much worse.”
Ella wasn’t going to need to ask, she knew no one would be killing time in the cells if the whole of Seventh Ave had been cleared out. It would be as the other places, a large truck and then everyone was gone. It was bold again, they hadn’t done this is months. Ella had hoped they had stopped but it seemed not and she still did not know how to stop them. At least she knew who the them was now.
But she was just one person, she could not protect those with no protection. She could not stop these kidnappings. “Come inside, tell me everything you know Dom, I will see what I can find out about your friends.”
She unlocked her door and let the young man and the young girl go in before her, them both heading straight for the kitchen, right past the door they would not see. She wondered if Clara had been living on Seventh. She knew that Dom was sweet on her, and if she was one of the homeless taken, well, Dom would never forgive himself.
She calmed him with tea and sent him upstairs to one of the beds. Olivia left with some food and a warning to come straight back with her siblings if they felt at all scared. She returned to the kitchen and sat contemplating what she would do if she suddenly had a house full.

hey bestie i was hoping to request xiao, venti, childe and zhongli where the the reader and the character have just had an argument + the reader needs time to calm down from the argument. omg maybe the reader comes back with a gift to apologise
Ask and ye shall receive <3. I’m the kind of person who needs time to relax and process the situation after an argument. I’m always too worked up (read angry) to kiss and make up straight after an argument.
Pairings; (Separate) Xiao, Venti, Childe, Zhongli x reader
Warning(s); breif mention of a wound, alcoholism, swearing
Keep reading under the cut!
Xiao
You’re probably being too harsh on the guy
You had just come back from a tough mission with a few more scrapes than you normally come back, a nasty cut in particular situated on your shoulder was what caused the argument to kick off in the first place
In hindsight the argument started from Xiao’s concern of you getting hurt worse but you were too tired from the commission to really read it as concern
But boy now do you feel bad. You both went your separate ways for the evening and in the morning you still haven’t caught sight of your partner. You eventually go around Wangshu Inn and ask if they’ve seen Xiao.
You get told that he’s out for the day, apparently he caught wind of something manifesting in the mountains. So, you suppose that it’s high time to make an apology gift
And what’s a better apology gift than your partners favourite food? Because your arguments are often few and far between you don’t mind making Xiao almond tofu since it’s not something you’ve associated with apologising
Though you’re aware that the sweet snack means nothing if you’re not sincere with your apology.
So what’s more sincere than sitting at the highest balcony of Wangshu Inn and wait for Xiao. You don’t mind how long it takes for him to come back just as long as you get to apologise
He comes back just after dusk and you pour your apologise profusely and tell him you understand that he was coming from a place of concern
Xiao is a little distant a short while after the apology but soon you’re reassured that he accepts it when he places his hand on the table for you to take hold of
The two of you sit in silence sat hand in hand while Xiao eats his tofu
You watch him eat with a grin on your face, sometimes just watching the Yaksha sit still and do his thing is enough to keep you in a trance for the evening
-
Venti
Maybe you got into an argument because you’re concerned over Venti’s drinking habits, sure he’s an immortal god but doesn’t he worry about his liver?
Sure the argument started because you’re worried about the archon but boy does he make you angry with his non-sensical thought processes
Venti is the kind of guy who wouldn’t let you leave without settling the argument
Even if the happy medium isn’t actually going to bring any change into the questionable drinking habits
But this argument just feels a little different, you’ve had the same conversation form months but nothing seems to change
You’re not even sure if Venti has actually listened to anything you have said to him about it
So you tell him “Do what you want, but you’re sleeping on the sofa tonight” yeah you just resigned him to sofa treatment. As much as you hate it you’re far too heated to just kiss and make up right now
So the night passes and you wake up with the cold space beside you, you’re confused until you remember the previous nights events
Though your unusual silence in the room doesn’t last long, you presume Venti sensed that you’re awake because you hear a knock at your bedroom door, you’re surprised that Venti is actually here and that he hadn’t sulked off to Windrise where you had originally planned to apologise to him
As you open the door you notice your partner stood before you with a bunch of hand picked cecelia's and dandelions and an apologetic look on his face
You’ve never known Venti to speak so fast he apologises profusely for causing you such worry and promises that he’ll try to drink less, he mentions that he doesn’t wish to give up his Friday and Saturday drinking nights but he’s willing to tone it down during the week if it stops you worrying
You thank him sincerely and find a vase to put the flowers in
You hug Venti and apologise yourself for being such a worry wart and causing such a big argument
“I’m glad I have someone to worry about me, I don’t know what I’d do without you” You can’t help but swoon at his flowery words and grin at him before the two of you start off the day
-
Childe
It’s a bad habit he has, when you try and talk about something serious with him he constantly cracks jokes at the situation. Which in its self isn’t the worse thing in the world, even you crack jokes to lighten the situation but at some points it goes too far
And today is too far, what started off as a disagreement about where you were going to eat lunch ended up in a full scale (mostly one sided) argument in Childes office about how he can’t take things seriously
You, of course, know this to be false. You’ve seen him in action against his foes and bank business but just in this moment when you are so angry about the situation those rational thoughts go out the window
And what does the bastard do? He cracks another fucking joke
“Is this what I am?” you ask finally reaching the catalyst of your temper “A fucking joke?”
And boy does the exclamation comes to a surprise to him. No matter how frequent your use of curse words you’ve never directed them at him so it catches Childe by even more surprise
“[name] I’m sorry I didn’-” he tries to apologise
“You didn’t fucking what Tartaglia? Want to make me feel like a joke? Cause you’ve been going down that road at every fucking disagreement we have” you cut him off in a fit of rage “Sleep in your own fucking bed tonight” you add before storming out his office
He tried to follow you out the bank before he was stopped by a fatui agent about some urgent debt collection, so he never got to apologise immediately
And that’s how the next couple of days go, you’ve taken most of the time to cool off and avoid anywhere Childe might be hanging about, your plan works better considering said harbinger was out of Liyue Harbour for a couple of days
Though on the third night Childe appears at your door, he doesn’t bring any gifts, just himself. Childe enjoys gifting things to you so he doesn’t want you or him to associate gift giving with apologies. You’re more than thankful for this
Childe apologises before you even have the chance to invite him in and takes your hand and wholeheartedly promises to try and not make jokes when you have a disagreement
You also apologise and agree that, in hindsight, you blew things out of proportion. You reassure him that he’s a hardworking man and that a few out of place jests make everything more bearable to him.
You invite him inside for some tea, your bed isn’t as cold as it was tonight
-
Zhongli
Disagreements with Zhongli never seem to get any further than that. The archon likes to listen to you vent your frustrations over a cup of herbal tea and usually that calms you down and everything is settled before supper
But every once in a while you’re a little high strung. For instance this time you’re running on a total of 5 hours sleep over the last 4 days. Sleep deprivation could possibly be your middle name at this point
The only thing you want to do when you get back from your restless trip from Mondstat back home is to just sleep the next few years
But the sweetie that Zhongli is he quizzes you about your great to horrific trip
Zhongli pulls all the stops he readys some dinner for you and draws a bath when you get back. He even gives you a small lecture about how you’ll feel terrible not washing before going to bed
But with your tired ears, eyes and brain it feels like a personal attack in your entire self “I’ve had it up to here with bloody hillichurls for 4 horrific days, all I want to do is pass the living hell out thank you”
Replace the bloodys with fucks and that’s probably more accurate to what you said
Zhongli is taken a little aback, being an older traditional man it’s unbecoming of anyone to use such sailor language. And thus the male lectures you about it
You take that as about as well as you expect, you don’t respond to him and favour walking out the room, barely getting undressed and collapsing on your shared bed
You wake up the next morning (though when you peek outside it seems like it’s after noon) disorientated. You don’t actually remember coming home the previous day
Then the memory resurfaces of you yelling at your spouse and regret washes over you
Surely the gift you had prepared for Zhongli would be good enough as repercussions of yesterdays outburst
You see Zhongli in the dining room, to the untrained eye he looks like he’s in a normal mood but to you, you can see his brooding emanating off of him. If you dare point it out Zhongli will deny that he even broods in the first place
He’s the first to greet you without turning around. Rightfully so, he’s still in a mood. So you just profusely apologise for your outburst
You explain that you were running on next to no sleep and while that doesn’t excuse your outburst it certainly explains it. If your spouse so wishes to ask how your trip was you would comply much more now since you’ve had a good sleep behind you.
You then change the subject to the gift in your hands, some rose tea. Something Zhongli had mentioned when you were courting all that time ago.
The man sits you on his lap and explains to you about how it was out of place of him to assume you’d be in a talking mood immediately after your travels. You reassure him that under normal circumstances you wouldn’t mind talking about it, you promise that you will do everything in your power to not let the previous night repeat
You then bring out his gift, rose tea, which he had mentioned wanting to taste a little while back, and before long you’re back in the cycle of Zhongli profusely explaining to you some random subject (in this instance rose tea) before you go off to make dinner where you finally share the details of your travels
Hope this is okay! <3 I kind of went a little ham with the Childe and Zhongli one in comparison to the other two hope you don’t mind lmao <3

The Road Less Traveled (Fellowship x Pregnant!Reader)
Synopsis: Left by a man who took you out of wedlock, you discover halfway through the Fellowship’s journey that you are, indeed, pregnant. Not wishing for you to face motherhood alone, the Fellowship conspires, regarding whom gets to marry you and help raise your child, leaving you with a tough choice.
This was not at all how you saw your life going—both the man leaving you for another woman, and finding out you were pregnant with his baby on a perilous quest, miles upon miles away from the nearest dwelling.
You had been madly in love with this man, unaware he had eyes for another. Your copulating love was taken out of wedlock, a choice you knew had its risks, but Brander had a charming way about him.
You never would have thought he’d leave you. However, one morning, Brander announced the conclusion of your relationship with another woman on his arm.
Heartbroken and enraged, you threw all his clothes from your shack, and took to a horse. Riding swiftly, you headed to the one place you knew hearts were healed; Rivendell.
Upon your arrival, a council of sorts was taking place. One thing led to another, as per usual in your life, and you found yourself on another journey—this time with a higher purpose, and nine other guys.
Things were difficult, but honestly relieving. The fresh air cleansed your soul, as did the healthy relationships you built up with the nine males—proving to you that they weren’t all bad, right on time before you could curse the entire species of XY chromosomes out forever.
However, this was as far as the fun went.
It started with a tiredness the Fellowship brushed off due to your inexperience, and then the lateness of your period. Next, early dawns were spent throwing up in the woods, with whomever was on night-watch holding your hair back, usually Aragorn, Legolas or Boromir.
You wept slightly when a sparring match with Boromir resulted in a shield hitting your breasts, for they were very tender as of late. The final nail in the coffin was the snubbing of Sam’s usually delicious bacon making you hurl.
Gandalf had taken to speaking with you privately, and asked, in the politest manner possible, if he could assess your womb to find confirmation of another soul.
Legolas approached slowly, crouched down by your side, and spoke responsively in the most apologetic of voices.
“There is no need—I can hear their heartbeat…I am so sorry, Y/n.”
You broke down into tears quickly, and everyone soon knew your predicament that evening. You apologized over and over, and felt utterly mortified. How embarrassing.
They now knew the choice you had made out of wedlock, and were pregnant as a result—something highly frowned upon in human society, and many others in Middle-earth, for that matter. You would no doubt be branded as a “whore” upon your return to society.
You told them all about Brander that night, and opened up to them fully. Jaws were clenched, nervous glances were flashed, and brows were furrowed.
They now had an expectant, first-time mother in their midst, on their way to quite possibly the worst place in the world to take a pregnant woman. Adding onto this, their poor friend, whom they had grown quite close with, was in a horrible situation.
But perhaps it was one they could help with?
Driven by noble blood and true chivalry, the Fellowship started to discuss their options.
“It’s just awful, what that ‘Brander’ fellow has done to her,” said Boromir, discreetly nodding over in your direction.
You were sat with your head in one hand on a log by the fire, face contorted in misery. Your cheeks and eyes, as well as your nose, were all pink, due to a long while of crying.
Sam sat on one side of you, and held your hand. He reassured you with bright words of soothing promises.
“Don’t worry, Miss Y/n! All will work out! You’ll see! You’re bringing a new soul into this world! That’s nothing to be ashamed of!” Sam would say.
Merry, Frodo and Pippin were on your other side, rubbing your back and holding your shoulder.
“He’s right!” they’d agree, nodding profusely. “You’ll see! This is a wonderful thing. You just can’t quite picture it yet, but you will!”
Gimli, Boromir, Aragorn and Legolas were all huddled in close, standing in a circle. They stood a little further off from the fire, but still caught its glow.
Gandalf was sat on a log himself, puffing away on a pipe. The affairs of human society were not his responsibility, but he offered guidance from a distance nonetheless. He already knew all would work out, but was the only one there oldest and wisest enough to realize so.
Legolas’ arms were folded over his chest, as were the three others’ he stood with. “She’ll be shamed wherever she goes, and her child will be considered a bastard. Truly awful…I feel compelled to help. What can we do?”
“Well, to avoid public slander,” Aragorn spoke up knowingly, “she’d have to be married.”
“Very well and all,” Gimli whispered back, “but were you perhaps not present when she said the scoundrel ran off with another filly?”
“He was not whom I was referencing,” Aragorn mentioned. He threw a studious glance in your direction, and spoke again. “She is a fine young lady, with a strong heart and homely nature. She would make a wonderful wife, and I feel it our duty as her friends to make sure she becomes so.”
“You mean for us to marry her?” Legolas asked, incredulously. His head lowered in shock as he spoke, and a brow arched.
The guys, save for Aragorn, who overlooked it all, glanced between each other tensely, unsure if the alarmed glint in their eyes was competition or fear.
Boromir was the first to speak up.
“I will do it, in a heartbeat!” he said. “You are right, Aragorn—she is a wonderful young lady, and deserves to be wed in time for her child. I will care for them both.”
“Well, now hold on a moment,” Legolas snapped, glaring across at Boromir. “Why do you get to marry her? I am much closer in age to her than you are…figuratively speaking, at least. I should be the one to marry her—we get along best.”
“You?” Gimli snorted. “You will outlive her in the blink of an eye.”
“Oh, and you won’t?” Legolas said back. “None of us implied romance anyways, Gimli. I’d merely be a lifelong friend and guardian for her and her child. I’m the most suited out of everyone here to provide for her—”
“Because you’re a prince?” Boromir interjected, narrowing his eyes.
“Not just because of that,” Legolas bit back, squaring up with Boromir slightly. “But what of it regardless? What does it matter how I provide for her? I plan on renouncing my title and making a life of my own anyways. I might not get the chance for a child of my own, and I can help Y/n raise hers.”
“She’s not some puppy, laddie,” Gimli snorted back. “You both want to store her away in a little cottage or unit somewhere drab. I can provide her with culture! Dwarven culture! Her little one deserves to grow up in grand halls and eat ripened meat!”
Aragorn looked between the unfolding drama, and soon raised a hand before you could become even more distressed. Fortunately, you hadn’t heard a thing of their hushed conversation.
“That is enough,” Aragorn said. “I’d offer to marry her myself, but…well, I do believe you three are better suited than me to provide a stable life for her. It is ultimately up to Y/n. All either three of you can do is offer your hand in marriage to her, and see what she says.”
Glares were thrown between the three potential suitors, as each wondered who’d be the first to turn around and run towards you.
As it turns out, all three turned on their heels at the same. They nearly tripped over one another. However, they stopped almost immediately, for someone on the other side already had the same idea.
“It is quite all right, Y/n,” Frodo said, down on one knee before you, and holding your hand. “The Shire will accept you, and I can just say I fell in love on the road and married you immediately. I have a big house now left all to myself, with many rooms. You can have one to yourself, as can your child. Bilbo did the same for me when I was young.”
You were crying again, but this time out of happiness. Your other hand was placed over your chest, as you smiled down at the kind hobbit with a wavering lower lip.
“Oh, Frodo, that is so incredibly kind, I can only say—”
“DON’T SAY ANYTHING!” Legolas shouted, rushing forwards. He nearly shoved Frodo out of the way, and took his place holding your hand swiftly.
“Y/n,” he began, sincerely, “I’ve always felt that you and I have had a…special bond since beginning this journey together. I can provide you with a cottage in the forest, and true protection. I’m an archer and an elf—your child will learn many life skills with me as their parental guardian. And, furthering this, after you’ve moved on from our world, your child will surely be left behind. I can ensure they are well-cared for up until their own departure!”
“Oh, Legolas, I don’t know what to...” you went to say, holding his hand with both of yours. You were truly starting to get overwhelmed with happiness and relief.
“Oh, shove it, pixie!” Gimli shouted from behind Legolas. He, too, stole the snarling elf’s place, chivalrously removing his helmet as he did so. “Lass, I know I may not be your usual type, or blonde, but I am asking for your hand as well. I can offer you so much in Dwarven society. The women are strong, and you will find ranks in them! Your child will be given an equal chance, no matter the gender, to be themselves! Life in the halls is a true marvel—”
“Enough, the both of you!” Boromir shouted next. He tugged Gimli by the beard and threw him away. “Y/n, you and I are both humans. I understand you and our shared culture better than anyone else here! Please, nothing would make me happier than to provide for you as my wife. Not to mention, the child will look most like me, racially-wise.”
The hobbits all looked between each other with shocked smiles, intrigued by the situation, and Gandalf and Aragon merely shook their heads.
Legolas grabbed hold of Boromir’s shoulder and stood him up. “Race has nothing to do with it! If we’re really going to narrow this down to looks, I am the tallest! That is highly desirable in a husband! Y/n and her child will live a wonderfully secure and safe life with me. You need to back off.”
“Why don’t you make me?” Boromir bit back.
Before a fight could break out between the two of them, Gimli hopped into the middle and added his own string of harsh words.
The three suitors of differing races soon began to bicker between themselves, leaving you sat on the log very stunned indeed.
However, after a long while of listening to them argue over who gets to marry you, you put up your hand and silenced them. Although, it took a good few shouts until they shut up completely and curiously blinked down at you.
“Boys. Boys! BOYS!” Once the attention was on you, you spoke again. “I am so incredibly flattered by your equal devotion, it has truly made me feel better about everything, but...do I not get a say in whom I marry out of everyone here?”
Legolas moved his body slightly, so he stood facing you straight. “Well, whom do you choose, my lady?”
Frodo had backed off entirely, but shared a lipped smile with you, ultimately letting you know the offer was still on the table regardless. Boromir, Gimli and Legolas all stared at you optimistically, leaning forwards as they waited for your reply.
Stumped by so many choices, and considering you didn’t even know this would be a part of your life plan up until five hours ago, you went with the smartest choice; waiting.
“These are all very early days…” you began. “I’m very overwhelmed by all the offers, and still getting used to the idea of motherhood, and now marriage—”
You took a calming breath.
“You’re all so sweet, and I truly appreciate your support, but…could I perhaps sit on it for a while, and return with an answer at a later time? This is a very big decision, as you can all imagine.”
They quickly agreed, and nodded their heads vehemently.
“Take all the time you need!” they said reassuringly, in one form or another.
That night, they all waved sweet “goodnights” over their shoulders to you, and even gave up their cloaks and packs to create what they deemed the perfect “mother’s nest” for you to sleep on.
It was all very sweet, and warmed your heart. However, although half the problem was solved, you were presented with another; who on earth were you going to choose to marry and raise your unborn child with?
Actually, the more you thought about it that night, as you fell asleep with nine friends protecting you as you slept in the middle, like a herd of animals keeping their mother-to-be safe, the more you realized you already knew exactly whom you wanted to live with.

CAN I JUST SAY THAT YOUR WRITING IS AMAZING????? Its so detailed with a great flow and filled with so much emotion I LOVE ITTTT!! You got me lying in bed tossing and turning with “in pursuit of knowledge” 🥰🥰 that’s my favourite one I really hope you continue it!
Can I request one of the upcoming chapter to explore more on how Zhongli and reader first meet and what are the other things they did that made him fall for them more and more each day? Zhongli doesn’t seem to be the kind that falls in love at first sight so I’m interested to see how the reader seems to have slowly crawled her way into his stone heart UGHHH ❤️❤️😩😩 It can be filled with fluff or with smut, up to you! Thank you so much ❤️
Thank you! You can keep on tossing and turning then with this! I also head canon that when it comes to love, Zhongli wouldn't fall in love at first sight but instead he'd be like a snail. The entire time I'm writing this I thought long and hard on how to proceed because I couldn't decide on a satisfactory way Zhongli would meet reader. I already knew that it would be a speed run of Enemies to Friends, and slow burn Friends to Lovers. So I wanted their first meeting to be seemingly unremarkable to Zhongli.
In Pursuit of Duty
Summary: The simplest of things can lead to the greatest moments of our life. Meeting you was Zhongli's greatest fortune.
There were a few mortals in Zhongli’s life, both as an Archon and on the few occasions he mingled with humans, that were able to capture his attention or even his praise. And in all of his life, mortal and divine, no one was able to capture his enmity in the way you did.
“Would it really matter what Rex Lapis thinks if we entered and fucked around the domain in Guyun stone forest?”
Zhongli blinked, aghast at your tone as Childe covered his mouth to stifle his laughter.
“What?” You asked the two of them as if you had not merely suggested tampering with the seals of Guyun Stone Forest.
“The entire place is home to the fallen gods” Zhongli reminded you “a graveyard for those who died in the Archon War”
“It’s been decades, they should be already on the reincarnation wheel at this point” You waved his worries off, sending Childe to another fit of laughter while Zhongli felt indignant “‘sides Rex Lapis is busy doing fuck knows what he probably wouldn’t even notice if one of the seals got messed with unless one of the dead Gods decide to fuck shit up”
Zhongli, who was very much Rex Lapis in disguise, very much noticed it and though he was the one who orchestrated this whole scenario, felt no less than pleased with the attitude you were having.
“The dead still deserve to be respected!” Zhongli insisted as he blocked your hand from reaching towards one of the seals.
“You stick in the mud! You make it sound like I’m defiling their graves or something!” You whined “Besides the Heavens must be willing if they had a stray seal plaster itself on my face!”
“It was a ruined seal. The divine powers had long since dwindled from it. Thus, the Heavens had no hand on it” Zhongli stubbornly insisted as he moved to block your path.
On the side, Childe was still laughing loudly.
“That’s it! Fight me you bastard!” You shouted as you took a few steps back and summoned the elements to form your weapon, a spear.
And really, it was almost funny in hindsight, how you would choose his weapon of all things. The one weapon he was best at among others but right now, in this moment, Zhongli had felt more than annoyed.
“Very well” His spear, dragon’s bane, at his side “I accept your challenge.”
There were a few opponents in his life that gave Zhongli a thrill of the battle. Ever fewer were able to make the gears in his head turn as quickly as it did when facing you, each strike of your spear was clearly aiming for his life, and yet the look in your eyes didn’t carry a single thought of murder.
It was frustrating. It was Confusing. It was, most of all, fascinating.
Fighting you brought him back to the days before the Archon Wars, where the Gods of Liyue were at a semblance of peace. It made him remember the joy of fighting someone your equal, it made his blood rush in a way that it had almost forgotten. And Zhongli was starting to see that beyond your heretical ways, behind your annoying mask of affability, was someone who can walk in the path of the divine.
‘No, you would walk in it for the sake of your knowledge’ Zhongli thought as he blocked your attack and moved his feet to kick you in your stomach.
“This ends here” Zhongli declared as he summoned a steele behind your back.
The sound of your back hitting it rang loudly in the air but the look on your face was something he would never forget in a long while.
You spat out blood, shakily standing up from your position, “You win this round! But I swear on Rex Lapis’ six pack abs I’ll find a way to replicate that fucking seal!”
And then you were gone in a spark of electro.
The peaceful sound of waves remained in the air that somehow hung heavy. Childe had stopped laughing and was looking confused as he mused, “That’s the first time in a long while I’ve seen them look like that.”
Zhongli paid no attention to his words and instead picked up the abandoned seal and returned it to its proper position.
“Interesting” Childe muttered, softly and slightly ominous to Zhongli’s ears.
What he found interesting was something Zhongli wisely decided to not entertain. He really hoped that today would be the last time he’d ever have to be in the presence of Childe’s...friend.
For his part, Childe had no regrets in introducing Zhongli to you, or rather having Zhongli experience the misfortune of knowing you. From the moment Childe had met you again, he knew that his life would be thrown out of whatever carefully calculated plan Pulcinella had made. And it was one he was happy with, if the rumors in Snezhnaya had him part of the chaos then you were chaos incarnate.
It was precisely the reason why Childe had brought Zhongli with him when meeting you in the Guyun Stone Forest.
“A friend of mine, an expert in the ways of the divine and assorted knowledge, would lend us their skills in challenging the...impossible, shall we say” Childe said on the way “Most of their thoughts are heretical, almost, but well no one has ever said it wasn’t effective in reaching the desired result.”
“Ah, a researcher from Sumeru then?” Zhongli had asked, the light in eyes glinting in interest.
“Of sorts” Childe answered because as much as you stayed in Sumeru, most of your knowledge had come from your own experiments and cases from clients seeking answers the divine could not give.
This was why you were almost heretical.
“I must warn you that for them the sacred can be profaned and the profane can be sacred” Childe added as they reached the shores of Guyun Stone Forest, and found you basking under the gentle rays of sunlight in front of the Domain.
Zhongli stared at you, the sight of you head looking up with your eyes closed as it felt the warmth of the sunlight. Geo crystalflies surrounding you as a light breeze had the ends of your hair fluttering in the wind.
“Who is that?” Zhongli asked.
“My friend, the infamous Xiézhihuā Mìngfù of Liyue” Childe answered.
In that exact moment, you slowly opened your eyes, lashes fluttering softly as you blinked. The wind blew and a rain of leaves fell on you, gentle and calm as you stared at them.
--
Like an ill-fated omen, Zhongli began to notice you on the streets of Liyue Harbor. Rumors and words of your deeds would reach his ears, on occasion some of your cases would be told in the tea houses.
“Miracle” a few bystanders would say.
“Heretical” the few devout traditionalists would mutter in hushed tones.
But all agreed that you were a genius. An innovator that brought changes like a storm. You gathered envy and admiration in your wake, foreign nobles and dignitaries seeking you out for consultations or to ask for your help. And yet, for all of your infamy and prestige, Zhongli often found you amidst the crowd of orphans or Liyue’s slum dwellers.
Sometimes, Childe was with you, other times it was Director Hu and her friends, the second young master of the Feiyun Guild and the exorcist. In one memorable moment, Yanfei. But more often than not you were by yourself, answering questions from children with a pleasant smile and mischievous glint in your eyes.
It was such a huge contrast from the one he first met that it made Zhongli pause and observe you from afar. Enough times that those around him would say, “No need for alarm, Mr. Zhongli. Xiézhihuā Mìngfù is honorable.”
It was those words that made him ponder. For all of your borderline heretical actions, miracle works that trespass on the Divine, the entirety of Liyue agreed that you were honorable.
It wasn’t until Childe had asked for his help did he cross paths with you again. Weeks of avoiding you to maintain peace were all for naught when he found himself in your presence once more. A jar of osmanthus wine on your hand and an ingratiating smile on your face, you offered it to him and said, “Osmanthus wine, I’ll give this to you so don’t be a stick in the mud!”
In his youth, he would have immediately brawled with you. But now, Zhongli settled for drinking a cup of tea with contempt as much as the act could convey. Your laughter, melodious, rang in the private room of Liuli Pavillion.
“Aiyo! What a tough crowd!” You said as you sat opposite him and placed the bottle in the center of the table, “Then shall we begin anew? My birth name is a secret, my courtesy name is a secret, my title is Xiézhihuā Mìngfù! Xié for Heretic, zhi for knowledge, and huā for flower!”
“What kind of introduction is that?” Childe teased as he began his battle with chopsticks.
“An unforgettable one!” You replied, sending a wink to Zhongli who merely pursed his lips.
“I am Zhongli, a consultant for the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.”
You smiled and decided to leave the matter at that, somethings could not be forced. So you retreated and decided to just straightforwardly tell him your intentions.
“I’ve heard that Mr. Zhongli is knowledgeable in Liyue’s history.”
Zhongli could sense your sincerity, it placated him a bit, made the dismal first meeting a little bit better. So he tries because he is magnanimous and there was no reason to burn a bridge, “I am merely remembering what others have forgotten.”
He looked at you in the eyes, drawn to the way your eyes burn bright with curiosity. It reminded him of Guizhong so he shakes the thought away because the dead and the living must not be compared. But as the conversation grows long, the topics eventually shift from the job to everything else, Zhongli can’t help but notice your innate desire to help those who are unfortunate.
Somehow it made him understand why you were seen as honorable. It wasn’t until all of you were facing unknown danger did he realize what it truly meant when used on you.
The case you were asking was slightly connected with Childe’s job for you. The case was about the sudden deaths of several brides that were kidnapped and found dead at an abandoned temple. No one had reported it to the Qixing until one of the victims involved was a distant relative of a Qixing who was to be wedded to one of the Szehnayan Merchants.
Childe had taken the chance to offer aide, calling for your help as one of the known detectives of Fontaine. It had surprised Zhongli, and made him respect you but all of it was quickly thrown away when you had given him a cheeky wink and said, “I can even tell how big a man’s dick is.”
“Shameless” He had admonished and yet he was unaware of the small smile he wore on his face.
The investigation led the three of you to a small village in the mountain, with a local shrine that was dedicated to an old god that even Zhongli had never heard of. The three of you had pored over legends passed down by mouth, discussing and comparing with the records found in Liyue’s public library and scholars. Childe, through his seemingly endless funds, had paid for information on every victim so far that wasn’t in the packet given by the millelith. Zhongli, with his seemingly endless connections, had talked to everyone and anyone that had studied Liyue’s countless lores and legends. And you had talked with the family of the victims, investigating the crime scene and connecting everything that could lead to an answer.
That was how Zhongli found you, messed up clothes and tired eyes poring over documents in the middle of discarded papers that laid on the dark wood floor of your secluded residence in Minlin.
“Have you not slept?” Zhongli asked, frowning as he made his way towards you.
“Not yet” You answered as you got up and discarded the paper you were reading to go to your wide cork board that held all the relevant information you had, “I’m close to figuring out what sort of deity or demon we’re going to fight.”
“What about the reason?”
“Solved it ages ago” You answered carelessly, pointing at the left corner of the board.
Zhongli went over and flitted through the papers on that side until he found what he was looking for.
“A vengeful bride?”
“Mn” You replied as you removed a pin and replaced the paper with an old newspaper clipping “There was a record of a previous incident however the Ghost of that time was listed as defeated. The stories all claim that the ghost was of savage rank, and disappeared after letting go of their obsession.”
“Then it returned?” Zhongli turned to you, alarmed and visibly frowning.
“No.”
You sighed and rubbed your aching forehead, “This was a man made disaster that went out of hand, I’m sure that whoever started this is probably dead. Chances are the first death awakened a sealed something” You looked at him, eyes serious “I’m figuring out just how old this thing is and what exactly are we going to face.”
“...The older it is…”
“The harder it would be to defeat it. Liyue’s lands are drenched in blood. Old grudges mixed with new ones from the Archon Wars. With cultivation clans dying out and having a single yaksha around, the karmic cycle of Liyue is already out of balance” You revealed and Zhongli was amazed with your discovery.
“Is there anything Rex Lapis could do?”
“...Fixing the karmic cycle? None. Solving this? His dragon qi would only end up being corrupted or he’d be punished by the Heavenly Dao. Time has changed a lot of things, but the rule that the Gods may not interfere with the mortal realm remains true.”
Both of you remained silent, You stared blankly at your board while Zhongli watched you. The heavy air from your words made your heart heavy, and Zhongli could see it. The fear that lingered in your eyes, the firm determination to save lives.
It left a ripple in the calm waters of his heart. A small unnoticeable ripple.
“Is it worth it?” Zhongli asked “Is it worth betting on your life to save the common people?”
You smiled at him, almost pitying, “To an adeptus like you, the amount of times mortals would bet on their lives to save others must be few, but Zhongli...I am the sort to always think that the common people are worthy.”
At that moment, Guizhong’s words echoed in his mind.
“Let me help you.”
--
A red sedan trudges up the mountain path, intending to pass through the temple. Behind the bridal sedan was a short entourage carrying three chests of dowry. In front of the sedan, were two people beating drums to celebrate the auspicious day.
Zhongli, Baizhu, and the Fatui disguised as locals were on alert as it watched the ominous trees of the mountain road. You sat inside the sedan, meditating in lotus position. Chongyun and Xingqiu were waiting in the temple where the zombified bodies of the previous brides were found. You had advised Ajax to not participate in the inevitable battle. Ensuring the possibility that his abyssal powers would react badly with ancient powers. With all of the preparations, you hoped that the odds would be in your favor.
You sighed softly, eyes opening as you felt the air change. You readied your weapon as soon as you heard the sounds of fighting.
The door opens and you throw out a talisman. In a quick move you stepped out, geo shield forming around you as you began plucking the strings of the Guqin. You looked at your enemy and found your heart easing up.
What stood before you was neither an ancient deity or demon, but rather a ghost on the verge of breaking through the Malice Rank.
“Don’t fear! We can subdue this one!” You informed your party, as you played the Sound of Vanquish.
Vines subdued the ghost, wearing the red robes of a groom. The Fatui began surrounding the ghost. Nine stone pillars acted as the foundation of the seal, pulsing with geo energy.
You felt rather than saw Chongyun come close, allowing you to draw upon his yang energy to balance out the pure yin energy of the ghost. Xingqiu stood on standby ready to recite the incantation for parting in case the seal fails.
The final notes of the song lingered in the air as Zhongli walked towards you, eyes never leaving the ghost, “I thought it was a bride.”
“A minor mistake” You replied as you played Inquiry.
‘Who are you’
The ghost didn’t answer.
‘Who are you’ you repeated the question.
‘Kill me’ it answered.
Your hands stilled in the air. You sighed and looked up from the strings and found yourself staring straight at the eyes of the ghost. Stunned at the mixture of emotions in its eyes.
“...There is no need to surrender to despair, your soul can still be saved.”
The ghost gave a mocking smile, “So what? My Chang’er is gone. We can never meet again in this life or the next.”
Zhongli’s eyes widened at the implication, just as Chongyun let out a small gasp. You felt your heart turn heavy even so you soldiered on, there was a need to find out the cause of this tragedy.
“Then tell me, why did you kill those women?”
“They deserved it!” The ghost screamed in anger, “They killed her! They killed her like she was nothing! Chang’er was innocent! They knew she was innocent and still-”
“You could have reported to the Millelith!” Chongyun said.
Cold mocking laughter rang loudly in the air, in it you could hear the bitterness of defeat and anger.
“Would it have done anything when the person behind this is an official? You’re too naive, boy!”
You closed your eyes, took a deep breath and decided to shield Chongyun from one of the dark sides of Liyue.
“Are you really forsaking salvation?”
“Yes.”
Zhongli watched as you walked towards the ghost and asked its name. He watched as the ghost whispered its name and you nodded before raising your hands, your index and middle finger pointing towards the sky, while the rest were closed.
Light gathered on your finger tips, the air charged with spiritual energy that was not of Celestial origin. It was an ancient divine power that Zhongli used to feel before he ascended to the peak of cultivation as a dragon.
With one downward stroke, the light slashed through the ghost. The light was so blinding that Zhongli had to shield his eyes as he watched the ghost turn into dust, its soul scattering to the wind. Your back stood straight, your hair gently fluttering.
Even though you were expressionless, Zhongli felt the heaviness of your heart. Despite that your eyes remained strong, unyielding as righteousness burned in your eyes. He watched as you strode in Ningguang’s jade chamber, as you reported your findings.
He accompanied you in going back to the village where it all began as you read the Liyue Qixing’s edict. He watched as you went beyond what Childe asked and went to the unmarked grave of Chang’er, offering incense on the blood stained stones of the temple.
He went with you as you sat on the highest mountain peak in Bishui, looking at the horizon with a blank look in your eyes. He didn’t speak and instead poured you a cup of osmanthus wine and silently waited.
“...Sometimes, I wonder if I can remain in the path of righteousness” You spoke, “I can never understand the hearts of humans, how could they easily ruin someone’s reputation, ruin someone’s life because of greed? I can’t understand why there was a need to go as far as scattering the soul?”
You cried without any tears, and Zhongli remained silent, unable to answer something he had always witnessed in his long life.
“Have you changed your answer?” He asked as he stared at his cup of wine.
“No” You replied and Zhongli could hear the self-mockery in your tone, “Even if one day I find myself in unbearable pain, I’ll never stop believing that the common people are worthy of saving.”
You looked at Zhongli, solemn in your bearing as the sun disappeared in the sky “Zhongli, no one has the right to decide on the outcome of human lives. Be it human or adepti.”
Zhongli thought back to the case, the sad story of two lovers who parted eternally because of jealousy and greed. The greediness of an official’s son for a woman who had no affection for him, the jealousy of the ladies over the popular young scholar. The selfish righteousness of the village folk that stoned an innocent woman to death over ruined reputation.
Zhongli thought of his contract. He wondered for a moment what you would say to him if knew that he dared to bet on the safety of Liyue and its people.
He closed his eyes and drank the wine that still tasted as he remembered.
“I pray that your heart remains in paradise.”
You toasted him and smiled softly. Zhongli vowed to never forget how beautiful you looked in that moment, with the slight smile gracing your lips as you drank the osmanthus wine.
The moon was beautiful that night.
--
Zhongli watched from afar as Osial rose. His thoughts echoing to the oath you swore that day in Guyun. A part of his heart felt sad and yet in awe of what you had accomplished.
He watched as the Millelith, Adepti and Fatui worked together to evacuate the civilians. He watched as humans and adepti fought together to bring down Osial once more. He felt proud and relieved at the result, glad at the knowledge that Liyue had no need of him anymore and yet a part of him felt trepidation.
The knowledge that the Age of Archons was drawing to a close. He thought of you, a beloved child of the Heavens, who could boldly declare that the Gods can be wrong. He thought of the words you spoke that night.
He thought of the days he spent with you, the rare times he went along with your tricks and harmless schemes. The easy way the two of you became friends. You were the first person he had easily became friends with, he mused at how quickly his dislike of you melted into fondness.
The way his heart had pinched when you said he wasn’t fun. The elation from being one of the few people you found interesting. He thought all of this as he handed his gnosis, as he kept his reason a secret. He thought of this as he looked around Liyue that had no need of him anymore, he thought of you as his feet automatically walked to where you were.
He stood away from you, watching as you cared for the wounded and then silently left. He spent the aftermath ruminating on his decision, on his actions while silently watching your actions with Childe during the last week of his stay in Liyue.
He waited for you to come to him, and ask him the question he could not answer. He steeled his heart and yet when you came to him, you didn’t ask and instead began talking about your recent adventures, asking him of his days and Zhongli didn’t know what to feel.
He knew that you knew nothing then. That you remained unaware of the truth but he let himself believe that you didn’t mind. So he spent his days with you, silently caring for you, protecting you in his own way.
He let himself bask in your vibrant presence, allowed himself to savor the feeling of watching you walk the path of righteousness. He unknowingly and willingly let you walk inside his heart, step by step, with each moment you spent helping others.
The days spent by your side, knowing the parts of yourself that no one else knew was the closest he felt in being mortal. It was so easy to forget that you remained ignorant when he spent his time worrying about your ability to be where chaos was, when his heart was easily influenced by you.
But now, in the privacy of the Dwelling in the Clouds, Zhongli watched as you grew disappointed. Your soft laughter filled with heartbreak and weariness broke his heart for reasons he couldn’t understand.
He regretted not telling you the truth when he had the chance.
He hated how he had no right to wipe away your tears even though he had spent countless nights and days warming your bed.
“Zhongli, I hate how I can understand why you did it” Your voice was so soft “Really, as an Archon you are undeniably good, you are peerless in that regard.”
He closed his eyes and readied himself for your next words.
“But I can’t call you a good person. Human lives aren’t something you should bet on so easily, no matter how careful you are” Your disappointment, your grief, and your weariness were all visible in your tone and body language.
He remained where he stood, watching as you descended. Each step breaking his heart as he slowly understood what you meant to him. He cried silently as you disappeared below the clouds and slowly sank on the ground.
For the first time in his life, Zhongli didn’t know what to do. There was no one he could turn to. He dreaded going back to a cold empty house devoid of you. He feared going back to the days that were dull, to a time where you did not exist in his life.
Where the sound of your voice was not commonplace, or the comforting scent of your magic that lingered in the space you occupied.
Zhongli laughed, loud and unrestrained, mocking himself for his stupidity. He hated how he didn’t realize it sooner, if he did then perhaps things would not turn out this way. He cried with all of his broken heart as he remembered the loneliness in your eyes.
He drank his sorrows away and as daylight broke through the clouds, he stumbled his way home. To the place that was devoid of you who he loved.
He fell on his bed that still smelled like you and silently cried himself to sleep.
He was already missing you dearly.
--
You stared at Zhongli, eyes distant as he stood in front of your door. A distant part of you wondered if things could be fixed, if the two of you could move forward from this pain.
But the rest of you were waiting for further disappointment, you knew the bone-deep pride of Gods. You understood that there was a bigger chance that Zhongli would cease contact with you, no one can easily put down years of habit and thought as a god so easily.
And yet as Zhongli stood beneath you, looking up to you. You couldn’t help but hope.
“...I can’t apologize for what I did” Zhongli began, “I don’t regret doing it the way I planned but I regret that I didn’t think of another way to test my people.”
You remained silent.
“I asked you once if the common people are worthy, the truth is I don’t know whether I find them worthy or not...but with you…” Zhongli trailed off, he felt that his next words were heavy.
He was afraid of laying his heart bare to you. The deepest parts of him that he didn’t fully understand, “I know that your life alone is worthy. I am a being born from rock, gaining humanity through cultivation. My heart is made of stone, softened by the dust. I don’t know if I would ever understand what being human means and everything it entails…”
You stared at him, unmoving, silently and patiently hearing him out.
“But I know that the only way I can keep on being with you is by changing this stone heart. So please, let me walk by your side, protecting you and your belief.”
Zhongli bent his waist, solemnly asking for your forgiveness and acceptance. He heard your footsteps coming closer and swore to himself to accept whatever the outcome would be.
“Stand straight.”
He stood and then he found himself in your embrace, your familiar scent filled his nose and Zhongli gently and firmly hugged you back. He held you fearing that all of it was an illusion.
“Let me learn how to be good while staying by your side” He whispered.
“I was afraid” You replied “of how easily you can decide on the outcome of your people’s life and death.”
You hugged him tighter, “I know that you still have secrets that you can’t tell. That even as you live as a mortal, the consequences of your actions as an Archon is something you would live with for the rest of your life. So I won’t judge you for that but Zhongli, I can’t be with someone who can easily bet on other’s life.”
“I understand.”
He thought of your words in Qingyun Peak, your confession that night in Minlin. He thought of the day he met you. He thought of the words he said in that temple ruin.
Zhongli understood what it meant to walk by your side, to take the same path as you did. He knew that from this moment onwards he would never be able to untangle himself from you. There was no room for anything else in his heart that was filled with you. It would always remain with you even if one day his entire being ends up in the abyss.
‘As long as your heart remains in paradise, I don’t mind letting myself fall into the abyss.

The True One
A/N THERE ARE SPOILERS FROM RECENT LORE STREAM! DO NOT READ THIS FIC IF YOU DON’T KNOW!
Summary: Reader learns the truth.
Pairings: Parental! Tommy x Teenage! F! Reader
Warnings: Mother Fluffing Angst. Death. Mentions of Exile. Swearing.
Part 2
A/N: This is not canonical to Lost Ones! It has elements from the storyline but it’s not canon. And yes, I’m dying on the inside because of the stream. That’s why I wrote this.
Ps: (F/L) means first letter of your first name. I forgot to put this original.
---------------------
(Y/N) was thirteen when she first thought her father died.
Dream wouldn’t let her stay with him. Tommy had to serve his punishment.
But being told no was never in an Innit’s vocabulary. She snuck into his exile every day she could, avoiding the likes of Dream and going behind her Uncle Tubbo’s back, who had taken over her care.
At first, everything was fine and Tommy always enjoyed her visits. Then something changed…
She had begged anyone that would listen to go with her to her father’s exile. He had begun to worry her. All of her life, Tommy had told her to never trust Dream. He often cursed Dream’s name to the wind and his face and she often cursed his name in the wind with him. Now, he called Dream friend.
No one came though, not even Tubbo, always claiming they were busy.
She never relented though and tried to make her visits more frequent; unfortunately, being so desperate made her sloppy. Tubbo caught her sneaking into the Nether and followed her.
This time though, he listened! He went with her, saying only because he was free and they were already here.
She had rejoiced as she practically skipped down the path to Tommy’s. Stepping out of the portal, her heart dropped though. Logstedshire was smoking and in ruins.
“Daddy!” (Y/N) screamed as she ran towards the dying embers of the fire.
Tubbo was frozen by the edge of the path over, looking at the hastily built pole.
“You wouldn’t Tommy,” Tubbo whispered. “Not with (Y/N) …”
“Daddy!” She screamed again, tears in her eyes, snapping Tubbo out of his shock.
Tears were in his own eyes. He had lost his best friend…
“(Y/N),” Tubbo muttered to her, going over to her carefully.
(Y/N)’s mind was racing. What had Dream done? Tommy couldn’t have done this. He wouldn’t leave her here…
Dream did this, but it could have been stopped. He…
Tubbo put a hand on her shoulder but she whipped away from him, glaring daggers at the older male. Tubbo was surprised, having never seen (Y/N) give anyone such a look.
“You didn’t care.” She spat out venomously. “I TOLD ALL OF YOU! HE NEEDS YOU! I TOLD YOU!”
“(Y/N), I—”
“IT’S YOUR FAULT!” She shouted before running off into the woods.
Tubbo had stood frozen, unable to process what happened before it was too late. He shouted (Y/N)’s name for hours in the woods but she had, had a good teacher. Tommy taught her everything he knew and while he wasn’t the stealthiest man, it was enough to hide from Tubbo.
She stayed at the ruins of Logstedshire, unable to leave or accept her father was gone. He wouldn’t just leave her, he’d come back.
That’s where Technoblade found her and she most certainly could hide as easily from him. But luckily, he didn’t take her back to L’Manberg, she brought her to the one thing that mattered.
(Y/N) followed behind Techno quietly, intimidated by the man that told her to just be quiet and follow. They got to his base and he opened the door to the lower level before going down the ladder.
“Tommy!” He called, making (Y/N) freeze from where she was watching him go down.
“What do you want?” Tommy groaned, coming out from his base in the floor.
(Y/N) grabbed the sides of the ladder and slid down. She hurt her feet at the bottom but didn’t care. Tommy was startled by the other person present before grinning widely.
“Little (F/L)!” He threw open his arms. “Sorry I haven’t gone to see—Ooof!”
He became winded as she slammed into him with a hug.
He was back.
Life went on again as (Y/N) went back to the belief; nothing could bring her father down on his last life.
She was sixteen when the final battle occurred. She lived with Tommy once again in their old home.
She woke up and stretched only for a note to fall off her chest. Frowning, she picked up and read her father’s handwriting before sprinting up.
It was a possible final goodbye from Tommy and Tubbo.
She had her sword and axe clipped on her belt as she was hastily putting her armor as she went out the door. She was at the Nether portal when said pair came out, Tommy’s arm around Tubbo’s shoulder grinning.
“WHAT THE FUCK?!” (Y/N) screamed at her father and he winced.
It took a lot to calm (Y/N) down that day…and the next.
She had really become a lot like him in her sixteen years of life. She often spoke her mind and was not afraid to hold back. Her swordsmanship wasn’t half bad, having been taught by both Tubbo and Tommy. She, of course, also had a passion for rare discs as well. (Y/N) was her own person, but people often called her small Innit as she resembled her father so much.
She was so much so like him, when she calmed down after the final battle for the discs, Tommy gave her a gift.
“Here.” He smirked, holding out a (F/C) piece of fabric.
“What’s this?” She questioned, taking it.
“Your own bandana, I was going to get you a red one but, thought you should try to be your own woman.” He shrugged.
She stared at it before hugging her father tightly, making the man laugh as he hugged her back.
“Thanks, dad.”
“Eh, you’re my kid, I kind of have to be nice to you.”
She punched his shoulder before putting it on as Tommy laughed.
She wore it every day with pride.
…
She was visiting Tubbo when it happened.
She didn’t need her father to survive, but he had “important business” and said he’d come to get her from Tubbo’s after to celebrate. At the time, she thought he was just improving the hotel.
The day ended though and there was no sign of Tommy. She was worried but Tubbo assured her that Tommy could have lost track of time or his business took longer than he meant. She stayed the night in Snowchester and went home in the morning. When she got home…there was no Tommy.
“Hey dad, you there?” She called on their channel.
No answer.
She shifted nervously, before going to the construction site. Sam Nook might have kept him busy.
When she got there, Jack was putting up a large, cloth sign with hastily written words painted on it over the main sign.
“Jack, what are you doing?” She frowned.
Jack whipped around, before grinning. “I’m putting up my sign for my new hotel!”
(Y/N) blinked once. Then twice.
“What did you say bitch!” She shouted.
Jack rolled his eyes as he came over, his hand twitching towards his axe. “I’m the last worker here. Tommy’s not going to be needing any more, so now it’s mine. So, get off my property.”
(Y/N) had noticed his hand and watched him carefully as she put a hand on her sword handle.
“What do you mean he’s not going to be needing it?”
Jack grinned wickedly. “Tommy’s been thrown in jail.”
What? No, he didn’t do anything!
“You’re lying.”
“No, he’s in there…”
“Stop lying.”
“And he’s not getting out…”
“Stop lying!”
“He’s done some pretty horrible things.”
(Y/N)’s sword hit his as he reacted quickly in shock at the teen’s rage.
“I said stop lying you fuck!”
Jack’s eyes had darkened and he went to strike the girl when a new body went in front of (Y/N) and a shield blocked the attack.
“Get off the property or I will have to dispose of you.” Sam Nook told him.
“This is my—!” Jack started shouting.
“This is my property!” (Y/N) shouted, sword at her side. “It’s the Big INNIT Hotel. As an Innit, I demand you leave.”
Jack growled and left the property. Tommy was taken care of; it’d be her turn next.
“Sam, where’s dad?” (Y/N) asked Sam Nook quietly.
“I’m not sure. I’m sure he’ll be back soon though!” He tried to encourage her.
“Yeah.” She muttered. “Keep Jack away ok? I’m going to…go see if anyone knows where he went.”
“Ok. Be careful Miss (Y/N).”
She nodded as she went home, taking deep breaths before going on the public channel.
“Hey, does anyone know what Tommy was doing last?” (Y/N) asked, pacing the room.
“He was visiting Dream last I heard,” Foolish answered her call.
She stood frozen in the middle of the base. Tommy had gone and…
“Did something happen when he came back?” Her voice was more frantic.
“Not that I know of, yesterday was the last I heard from him.”
Yesterday?!
(Y/N) felt her chest tighten as she remembered her fear when she was thirteen. The fear she felt when she read Tommy’s note. All the pain the two of them endured to try and finally now live happily. She needed to see Sam now.
Just like she had a few months ago she scrambled to put on her gear and ran out the door towards the prison. The effects of the area tired her, made her feel weaker, but she didn’t care as she stood at the entrance.
“Sam!” She called, knowing the man could hear her. “Sam! Answer me please! Sa—”
“I figured you come.” Sam said stepping through the portal, hands behind his back. “(Y/N), I need you to leave.”
“Where’s my dad?” She demanded.
“There was a security breach when he was in the main cell. I can’t open it until I have it figured out.”
“He’s…He’s in there with Dream?!” She shouted.
“Yes, but Tommy’s tough he can…”
“Daddy!” She screamed, going for the entrance but Sam took her arm to stop her.
“(Y/N), I need you to leave until I have this figured out.”
“No, while my dad is in there you stupid bastard! Let him out!”
“I can’t open the cell—!”
“I don’t give a flying fuck!” She roughly pushed him away and sprinted in before Sam could stop her. “Dad!”
“(Y/N)!” Sam shouted as he followed after her.
She went to run but Sam easily caught her, more used to the effects of the prison.
“Let me go! I have to save him! Daddy! I’m going to save you this time!” She screamed into the building. “I won’t leave!”
“You’re only prolonging how long he’s in here!” Sam told her. “I need you to leave so I can work (Y/N).”
“I can’t leave him. I can’t lose him again. Please, Sam. He—That box and—Dream—and…” The teenager was in tears as she pleaded with the creeper hybrid.
Sam sighed sadly. “I know. I know. I will fix this as soon as I can. Please, go home. I’ll fix this and get him out, I promise.”
She couldn’t do anything, but she had to do one thing even in hopes he’d hear.
“I LOVE YOU, DADDY!” She heard her voice echo. “I’LL MAKE SURE YOU GET OUT OK!”
She couldn’t do anything more. Sam wouldn’t let her. Instead, she went to the hotel and stayed there as it was even just a few miles closer to where her father was trapped.
For days, she didn’t leave the room, just staring out the window at the building looming in the distance. Sam Nook tried to get her to eat but she couldn’t. Tubbo had come to try and help her once but that didn’t help at all, only reminding her of before. Her mind couldn’t even think about doing something like that.
All she could think about was her father.
Sometimes, as she stared at the building, she sat on their channel on the walkie and just talked like he’d hear her. He had to hear her…
She was sitting by the window when her door opened, Sam Nook looking at the ground as Sam stood tall behind him.
“What are you doing? You need to be—” (Y/N) started, her voice strained as she stood up.
“I’m sorry,” Sam muttered.
“What? What do you mean? Why aren’t you looking into your security breach?” She asked.
“I’m so sorry, I was too late,” Sam whispered.
(Y/N) stood there, taking in his words. “What the hell are you talking about?”
“I tried (Y/N) and I wish I could have…” He came in but she shook her head.
“You’re fucking with me. You lying piece of shit, this isn’t funny.” She pointed at him, as she stepped back.
“I’m not…”
“You’re lying!” She shouted her throat hurting, but she took off her walkie.
She needed to prove them wrong! But…
Tommy Innit was slain by Dream
“No. No. No. NO! IT’S WRONG!” She screamed to the wind. “IT’S WRONG! HE’S NOT GONE!”
She collapsed crying, hugging the walkie close to her as Sam came over, hugging her tightly to him. Across the ocean, Tubbo was running for the nearest boat to get to the girl he considered a niece, but nothing would comfort her now.
“DADDY!” She cried out, her bandana around her neck fluttering lightly as she cried at the true death of her father…

Lab Partners With Benefits Pt. 2 | Percy Jackson
Summary: A week has gone by and Y/n hasn’t stopped thinking about her encounter with Percy. Now it’s time for her lab and she can’t tell if she’s yearning or dreading seeing him again.
Category: smut
Part 1 | Part 3
__________________
One week later and you walked into your lab again. This time however, your table was empty. Disappointment curbed your mix of nerves, excitement, and dread at seeing Percy again as you sat down.
Good, you thought. Gives me a chance to calm the hell down and stop acting so childish.
But as the minutes ticked down to the start of class and Percy had yet to make an appearance, your eyebrows creased in thought.
Where was he? Was it normal for him to roll in at the last second?
Before last week you hadn’t paid any attention to him, but since last week he had rarely left your mind. Shamefully, you admit it. Those few hours with Percy had played on repeat since they ended. And not even just when he was kissing you, although that part was frequently visited. No, you were hung up on the most mundane things about him, like how he ran his hand through his hair whenever he got stuck on a question. Or the way he always had a beat going in his fingers or legs. Or the way actually opened a door for you. Do people even still do that?
Mack started the class with a greeting and you snapped out of your head.
Percy still wasn’t here.
Is he avoiding me? No, he’s just a college student that’s running late or skipping class. Well, he better not be skipping class because you have a tough assignment to do today. Speaking of which, you forced yourself to listen to your TA explain it.
“What did I miss?” A familiar voice whispered in your ear and you jumped, whipping your head to see Percy in the seat next to you, failing to suppress a grin.
Your frazzled nerves made you want to respond with a few choice words, but the mischievous gleam in his green eyes made it hard to stay mad at him.
“Where were you?” you asked him, passing over his copy of the work.
“I had to take care of something.”
The cryptic answer gave you cause to look over him as he turned his attention to the front of the room. His hair was messy, his cheeks slightly flushed, and you couldn’t be sure since he caught you staring, but you think you saw a cut in his shirt. It looked like he was just in a fight.
“Is your shirt cut?” you asked and reached out to inspect it, fingers meeting his side through the hole and making him jump. Percy took your wrist and brought it back up to the table.
“Hey, wait till after class,” he slyly reprimanded you, drawing a scoff out of you. Which drew the attention of the people sitting closest to you, so you both lowered your voices further.
“Seriously though,” you nodded your head to his side. “How’d that happen?”
“I snagged it,” he started. “On a tree.”
“Right.”
You were about to ask him what he did to make the tree mad when the feeling of something on your hand drew your attention. He was absentmindedly rubbing circles on your skin with his thumb, and it wasn’t until then that you realized he was still holding your hand. This made him also notice that you were holding hands and you awkwardly pulled away first. An uncomfortable silence fell over you both that lasted the rest of the lab.
It was weird how natural it felt to hold his hand and to talk with him like that. You had barely spoken since you met and while you had been moderately physically intimate with him before, you hadn’t been this kind of intimate. This whole relationship with Percy is unlike one you’ve never experienced before. You’re not quite strangers, not quite friends, not quite together. The massive grey area surrounding Percy made red flags pop up in your head. And yet, when he casually invited you back to his place once the lab had ended, your mouth accepted before your mind could stop you.
This time you actually made it into the living room before you started making out. Even going so far as to make a show of setting up your lab books on the coffee table as if you were actually going to get work done before you couldn’t take it anymore and pulled him to you by his collar.
This time, you set a slower pace than your frenzied kisses against the door, allowing you to savor every move he made. Percy relinquished control of the kiss to you and tugged on your thigh until you were straddling his lap. His hands pressed flat against your lower back until your chest was flush with his and tilted his chin up to catch your lips again.
You felt him shiver when your fingertips met the back of his neck, tugging on the hair there. As a result you felt Percy smirk against your lips and in a deep voice that made heat flare up through your core he told you, “Hold on.”
Percy paused in kissing you and his warning made your eyebrows crease in confusion until you felt his hands hook under your thighs and he shifted his weight until he was slightly standing. Then he twisted and laid you down on the couch and had his mouth back on yours before you could process what had happened.
In the new position, Percy took control of the kiss and sped it up a little, but still took his time tugging your bottom lip between his teeth. His thumbs made little circles on your thighs from where he was still gripping them and it brought you back to earlier in the day. In response your own hands moved down his back and to his sides where your finger found the hole in his shirt again.
“It was a tree,” he said against your lips.
“Sure it was,” you replied.
At that Percy pushed up into a kneeling position with your legs still on either side of his hips and you worried for a second that he was actually bugged by your insistence with the hole-thing. Until he pulled his shirt off and your mind short circuited. He balled it up and tossed it across the room with a final, “There. Outta sight, outta mind.”
Your jaw was still partially dropped from the revelation of his surprisingly toned abdomen and you gave a distracted “Uh-huh” before you all but yanked him back down to you, surprising him with your strength and the newfound urgency in your kiss. He matched the new tempo and your legs hooked around his waist, causing him to groan and rock his hips down into yours.
Percy savored the gasp you let out and ground into you again. One of his hands hitched your thigh up higher and the other traveled up your hip and under your shirt to grip your side. He allowed you to catch your breath as he leaned up to your ear.
“What do you want, princess?” His husky voice blew any and all recollection of red flags and warnings straight out of your mind, in fact everything was emptied from your head except for thoughts pertaining to how good he felt pressed against you and how much more of him you needed.
“You. All of you.”
Percy could’ve died a happy man right then and there.
He ducked back down to your mouth, recapturing it with his own and picking up where he left off. This time he felt the heat of the mutual understanding of where the situation was headed and braced his hand above your head on the couch armrest. However, that action did bring up the first smart thought he’d had since he sat next to you earlier.
“Wait.” He pulled back and eyed your lips, which were red from his kisses.
“What’s wrong?” You asked and brushed a chunk of hair away from his eyes.
“If I get to have you, we’re not doing it on the couch my roommate got off Craigslist.”
You threw your head back laughing and Percy could only stare and smile dumbly, feeling something new he hadn’t felt in a long time.
But then he remembered what was to come and hooked his hands underneath your thighs again to lift you up.
Percy was conflicted. On the one hand he wanted to get to his bedroom as quickly as possible. But on the other he loved the way your arms were wrapped tight around him and how you had occupied yourself with placing kisses along his neck. So he decided to take a detour through the kitchen to grab some granola bars.
“Are you kidding me?”
“We might be hungry later!” He defended himself and felt you drop your forehead to his shoulder.
“Just walk.”
Fortunately the granola-detour didn’t completely kill the mood and Percy kicked his door shut and somehow stumbled to the bed while completely lost in your kiss. His plan was to drop you onto the covers and then take off his jeans, but you had other plans and refused to let go of him so he fell on top of you. The bouncing from the fall made your shirt ride up and Percy took the opportunity to run his hands up the exposed skin, stopping just as his fingertips were in reach of the underside of your bra.
You broke the kiss for a moment to grant his unspoken request and pulled your shirt off, but when you laid back down his lips didn’t return to yours. Instead his mouth dragged down your neck, conscious of the marks he would leave. When he reached your collar bone, your hands buried themselves in his hair as his hands squeezed your bra and placed hot kisses on the skin that spilled over the top.
“Percy,” you moaned as your back arched up into his touch. “Percy, please.”
“Please what?” He looked up at you.
“Please, touch me.”
“I am touching you.” He responded and proved his point with another tight squeeze to your chest.
“You know what I mean,” you huffed, knowing you were playing right into his teasing by getting riled up but dammit, you needed him badly.
He tilted his head innocently. “Do I?”
Even though he was looking up at you with those big green eyes, you could tell by the way his thigh pressed between your legs that he knew exactly what you meant. As hot as his teasing was, you had spent all week thinking about him and you just couldn’t wait any longer, so you pulled him up to you by his hair and tried to speak as evenly and clearly as you could.
“Percy Jackson if you do not quit teasing me I will-.” Your gasp cut you off when his hand slipped beneath your pants and pressed against your core.
“Oh, you meant here?” The cocky bastard punctuated his words with a pinch to your clit. “Is this what you wanted?”
Percy committed the speechless look on your face to memory as you glared back up at him.
“I hate you.” you ground out when the initial shock of his touch faded. You hated his infuriating smirk. You hated his disheveled dark hair. You hated how his hands left you to pull down your pants at an achingly slow pace. And you especially hated how he somehow knew exactly how to touch you.
“Is that so? Then you’re gonna really hate this.”
His warning barely registered with you before two fingers plunged into you. Percy cherished the way you cried out and clenched around his fingers, imagining how it would feel around his dick later on.
The achingly slow pace he set as his digits pumped in and out of you turned you to puddy in his hands, eyes screwed shut so that you didn’t notice Percy lean down until you felt his breath against your ear.
“You like that? You want more?” he asked, but grew unsatisfied by your lack of response. The hand that wasn’t currently brushing your g-spot with every curl came up to your jaw and turned your face to his. “Answer me.”
“Yes,” you panted as his palm pressed on your clit. “I want more. Please give me more, Percy.”
“Good girl.” He praised and swiped his thumb across your bottom lip. “But I don’t think you deserve it. You’ve been greedy for my touch and ungrateful for what I give you. Distracting me all through class with your leg pressed against mine and your cleavage teasing me every time you leaned into the table.”
The way his fingers were speeding up made it hard to focus on his voice in your ear but he continued anyway.
“Barely said a word to me but now here you are,” he took his time pressing a kiss to the spot below your ear. “So desperate for my cock.”
Your approaching orgasm made your pride disappear and you readily begged him for release.
“Look at you, so pretty when you beg for me.” He watched you intently, taking in every signal your body gave until he knew you were seconds from going over the edge. “I bet you do this all the time.”
At that he suddenly pulled his hand away from where you needed it. Your whine of frustration had no affect on him as he leisurely brought his fingers to his mouth to clean them of your juices.
“Huh? I bet you tease any poor guy who happens to sit next to you. You get them so hooked on you that they follow you to bed. Isn’t that right, baby?” Percy’s words and lack of contact made you hurriedly deny them.
“No,” you insisted and turned your face to his. “Of course not.”
“No? Are you sure?” His hand caressed your jaw and moved down, tempting you with feather light touches.
“Yes. There’s only you.” Your assurances earned you a kiss.
“Good girl. Now roll over and stick that pretty ass up for me.”
Doing as he said, your cheek pressed into his pillow and your back arched for him, hoping that your eager compliance will get him to forgo any further teasing and just rail you.
Percy brushed the hair from your face and leaned down to place a sweet kiss on the back of your neck and whisper, “You’re so beautiful.”
The softness of his tone distracted you until his hands found their hold on your hips and he thrusted into you.
Percy’s low groan filled your ears while his cock filled your pussy. You don’t think you’ve ever been this stretched before and you weren’t sure you could’ve taken him if you hadn’t already been so wet. The way his hands gripped you tighter made you peek over your shoulder to see his eyes shut and arms strained to keep himself from ramming into you.
I mean what can you say it was fucking hot.
To put him out of his misery you rolled your hips against his as a signal that you were ready and it apparently caught him off guard since he let out a cute little gasp. Then he caught you looking at him and his cheeks reddened at your smiling to his boyish response. The only way you could describe his following look was “You’re gonna regret that.”
But when he started off at a brutal pace you honestly could say you didn’t regret a thing. His dick pounded into you and hit deeper than anyone else had before. Your hands desperately tried to find purchase on his sheets and gripped them tightly when one of his hands snaked around and found your clit again.
Percy hung on every noise you made and wondered if anything else would ever sound as good as you moaning his name, which made him want to see your face as you did.
He pulled out of you and turned you onto your back, your eyes meeting as he propped one of your legs against his shoulder and went back to work. He liked this. Being able to watch you come undone around him, your hair a mess and your chest bouncing with his thrusts. But he also saw your hands grappling the sheets for something to hold onto and he thought he would offer his services one again.
Percy leaned down over you and captured your mouth with his once again, not breaking his rhythm even as your hands tugged on his shoulders and pulled him closer to you still.
“Y/n,” he groaned into your mouth when your hand gave a particularly hard pull to his hair.
“Percy, I’m… I-.”
“I know.” Your climax was moments away and Percy’s was right behind it. “Cum for me, babygirl.”
This boy was going to be the death of you. Percy leaned back from the kiss to hear all of the pretty sounds you made as you came around his cock, the clenching of your walls sending him over the edge with you.
You pulled Percy back down to you for one last kiss as you rode out your highs, this one slower than before. His forehead rested against yours as you were catching your breath and he kissed it before rolling over to lay next to you. Time passed as you both lay there for a while coming down from your highs and your eyes remained on the ceiling as your hand tentatively found his.
This is probably too weird he’s going to ask me to leave now that it’s over and in what world do you hold hands with somebody you just hooked up with? Your worries were silenced as he confidently took your hand in his and squeezed it.
“You want a granola bar?” he asked, causing a tired and satisfied burst of laughter to come from you.
“Fuckin… sure,” you replied and he reached over you to the nightstand and on his forearm you saw the “mysterious gang affiliated” tattoo that Lauren had been freaked out about. You admit, it was kind of weird, but it was probably nothing.
It could be initials or something, you pondered. The ‘P’ could stand for Percy.
“Here.” The boy in question offered you a granola bar and you unwrapped them before cheersing. You were kind of hungry, content to just lay there and eat the stupid granola bar and breathe with him.
“You did clean that couch after you got it off Craigslist, right?” You asked him after it popped into your head.
“What? Oh… yeah. Yeah.”
“Liar.”

GO BACK ⇢ Part 5 ⇢ UP NEXT
They ran.
That’s all they could really do. Running and frantically searching for you, the villain and rescuing citizens as well. This was one of those days that people would be terrified. It was horrible. People screaming, children crying and what made it worst of all.. is the place all of this is happening.
It was a pro hero’s job to protect citizens so they would get used to sights like these. But with the lingering thought in their mind that all of this devastation was happening in the place that no one say coming made their skin crawl.
“HELP..! PLEASE!! PLEASE HELP ME!” A citizen cried, stuck under rubble with blood streaming down her face. Midoriya flew over there as fast as he could and managed to safely get her out. “Hey! Ok I got you ok! Please keep your eyes open if you can!” He stated to her as her body was becoming heavier and heavier by the minute. While other pros who were more of rescuers came and took the woman from Midoriya, the other men ran forward, doing their best to save all the citizens that needed help while still in search of you.
A couple minutes pass and at the moment, all four of the heroes were helping citizens evacuate the area. At this time they were in the middle of the carnival where the Ferris wheel is located. “WHERE THE HELL IS Y/N AND THAT DAMN VILLAIN!” Bakugou yelled in frustration. It had been a couple minutes since anyone had detected anything from the villain. They have been stressing severely after the incident with the pups. They were thinking the worst.
“Bakubabe calm down.. you know that we’re all on edge about this situation and—“ Just before Kirishima could finish his sentence, a pound explosion and a bloodcurdling screaming was heard. And somebody in the crowd recognized the scream. The boys did too.
“Y/N?!” The mystery person said. They pushed through the crowd. “SO IT IS HER!!” Kirishima yelled, extremely panicked. The person made their way to where the heroes were. “IS THAT MY DAUGHTER?!” your mother screamed while crying. Your father came up behind her comforting her as she screamed. “BOYS! WHERE.IS.MY.DAUGHTER!!” Your father yelled as well, seeing red. The boys froze. They were not expecting to see their parents in law at a time like this. “Wait sir let me explain..” Todoroki started, wanting to avoid the unnecessary argument and also to avoid the lingering eyes on them.
The media knew nothing of you. They didn’t know you were connected to some of the most powerful heroes in society. So that meant not even the citizens knew. You were kept secret, to avoid villains trying to target you and now the pups. “But can we talk about it in private?” Todoroki continued, not wanting to talk about it in the setting where the citizens are within an earshot.
Your parents nodded and shakily walked to a corner. The boys then explained what they know and how the situation happened. Your parents were shaken. They never expected this to happen. “WELL PLEASE GO AHEAD! PLEASE SAVE HER!” Your mother cried. The boys nodded and bid farewell and took off.
“The bastard is gonna pay if there’s on mark on her..” Bakugou growled as he propelled himself faster in the air with his quirk. “Oh most definitely..” Todoroki said with a feral tone.
As they are nearing the area the explosion was, there was another one. And then the same voice was heard.
Your voice.
You screamed, “DO WHATEVER THE FUCK YOU WANT TO ME BUT I WILL NOT LET YO BITCHASS TOUCH MY FAMILY!!” The boys froze. That was you..? “You got guts going up to me.. but that’s a pretty little quirk you got there” the villain laughed at you. “I’m gonna have fun killing you..” the villain continued as he charged at you.
“WE GOTTA GO!” Midoriya screamed. The boys finally reached the area. The other heroes were dealing with other villains in the area. It was said that this villain the boys are going after was the strongest there. As they finally reached the area, their eyes widened at what they saw.
You stood in the middle of a lot of rubble all battered and beat up. The alpha marks that littered your neck were stained with blood. Your clothes were tattered and your hair was all frizzy. The boys looked over to the side where they saw your two friends laying there unconscious.
You were protecting them.
And it looks like there was a struggle. You were stumbling over your own feet at times. No wonder you quirk disabled in the air with the pups inside. You had the overexerted yourself. “Oh.. we’ll look what we have here..!” The villain cackled evilly. This alerted you as you shakily turned around to have your eyes be met with your alphas. “A..alp-“ you said weakly. You were so weak it’s the only thing you could get out before the villain grabbed you by your throat.
“I’d advise you stay back before I pop this one open!” He said menacingly. The boys saw red. As far as they were concerned, he was the reason you were hanging onto your life, he was reason their pups may have trauma from this experience, he was the reason their family may never be the same. “You.. MOTHERFUCKER!!”Bakugou screamed as he charged at the villain. “YOU DID THIS! YOU DIRTY ASS BITCH!!” Kirishima yelled behind, charging at the villain as well. “WE’LL KILL YOU!!” Midoriya said, doing the same as Kirishima and Bakugou. “THIS WILL NOT BE FORGIVEN!!” Todoroki screamed, following suit.
They all charged at the villain with the intent to kill him. They didn’t hold back at all. In a state of shock, the villain dropped you. Before you could hit the ground, Midoriya was quick to swoop in and grab your body. “I’m so sorry we didn’t come sooner my love.. we’ll finish this in a second then get you the help you need...ok?” He said. You nodded weakly and smiled letting him know you were ok. He set you on the ground, near your friends then went back to the fight. You managed to crawl closer to your friends’ unconscious bodies to put their heads in your lap. You sat up against the rubble and tried to relaxed your body but all you could feel was pain.
As the boys were still fighting the villain, debris flying all over the place, the villain began to speak. “WHY ARE YOU SO WORKED UP OVER A LOWLY OMEGA?!” He cried, obviously loosing the fight. “THATS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!” Todoroki yelled angrily. “AND DONT YOU DARE CALL HER LOWLY!!” Midoriya chimed in. “YOU’VE RUINED SO MANY LIVES TODAY AND HAVE THE AUDACITY TO ASK THAT YOU SON OF A BITCH?!” Bakugou continued, still beating the crap out of the villain. “YOU GOT SOME GUTS ASKING US THAT RIGHT NOW!” Kirishima added.
As this was happening, you heard a cry. It had to be enhanced by a quirk because it was a pup’s voice. Your eyes widened. “AMI! LITTLE PUP IS THAT YOU?!” You screamed. “MAMA!” She screamed back. That was your quirk.
Voice Adaptation.
You could basically do anything with your voice, whether it be making a shield, the orbs your pups were flying in or just sending messages, you could do it and apparently so can your pup. “Pup huh..” the villain groaned. He then slithered his way out of the boys and said, “LET’S SEE IF YOU’LL BE SO TOUGH WHEN I KILL THAT USELESS LITTLE DOG!” He screamed and started making his way to where the pups were. You were enraged and terrified. First of all, he just called your pup a useless dog and he’s now targeting your babies. “NO PLEASE, I’M BEGGING YOU!” You pleaded. The boys already took off after the villain, while terrified. ‘I have to do something I can’t just sit here!’ You thought to yourself wearily. After a few moments, your eyes then widened, finally getting a plan.
‘MOM?! MOM CAN YOU HEAR ME?!’ You said, sending a message to your mom through your mind with the use of your quirk. ‘Y/N?! SWEETHEART YOU’RE OK?!’ She replied. ‘I’LL BE FINE! BUT I NEED YOUR HELP! AND PLEASE CARRY DAD!’ You told her hastily. She sensed the urgency in your voice and said ‘I’LL BE RIGHT THERE!’ You slumped down and waited. A couple seconds later your mother and father appeared in front of you. “WHAT’S WRONG?!” Your mother screamed worriedly. “I can’t explain it right now but dad can you please pick up my friends and mom can you teleport all of us outside to where the ambulances are?!” You begged. Your parents looked at you, then each other then got stern looks. “Let’s go!” Your dad said as he picked up your two friends.
As this was happening, the boys was still in pursuit of the slimy squid like villain. “YEAH HELLO?! WERE IN PURSUIT! THE VILLIAN JUST STARTED TO RUN AWAY AND HE’S HEADING TO THE AMBULANCES! EVACUATE ALL THE CITIZENS IMMEDIATELY!!” Midoriya yelled into the communication device he had. “WE HAVE TO GET ALL THE PEOPLE OUT OF THERE! BUT WE HAVE TO GO BACK FOR Y—“ Kirishima started but was cut off by something.
It was your voice. You were talking to them.
‘Hello..! Alphas can you hear me?’ Your voice said in their head. ‘We’re here baby, we’re here! We’re coming back for you ok?!’ Todoroki communicated back to you. ‘No! Don’t! I’m fine’ you stated. ‘What the hell do you mean you’re fine?! With those injuries you could pass out at any moment!’ Bakugou says back. ‘Im serious! Keep going after the villain! My parents are here and their taking me to the ambulances!’ You told them sternly. ‘NO BABY WAI—‘ and before Midoriya could finish his sentence, your quirk cut off. All the alphas look at each other, decided if they should go back or not. “I have a bad feeling about this..” Kirishima says wearily, still chasing the villain. “OH LOOKS LIKE WERE HERE~” the villain laughs, drawing the boys out of their thoughts.
“FUCK!” Bakugou yelled. The boys watched as you teleported with your parents to the ambulances. They said a few things to you as you nodded your head. They left with the heroes that were directing them away.
For some reason, their stomachs were twisting. They had a lingering feeling that somethings wasn’t right.
You were looking around, silently begging to see your pups. The villain then charged at you but you managed to jump away in the split second if time you had left. “Y/N! GET OUT OF HERE!” Todoroki yelled. They didn’t wanna see you get hurt. You were so focused on finding the pups that you didn’t even hear him.
“THERE YOU ARE!” The villain said, alerting you and the boys. You looked over at him and saw that Ami, along with her three brother, Katsuo, Haru, and Izuko standing there in the care of a pro hero. “And looks like she’s got siblings.. Oh this is gonna be great!” The villain cackled. He charged at them. “NO!” The boys yelled in togetherness. They all ran after the villain. “DON’T LET HIM GET TO THEM! GET THEM OUT OF HERE!” Kirishima yelled, alerting the heroes. “HAHA I GOT YOU NOW!” The villain cried menacingly as he appeared infront of the wide eyed pups. He swung his tentacle as herd as he could and brung it down.
He hit something. But he didn’t hear crying. He opened his eyes to see you standing there, with a victorious smirk on your face, blood seeping out of the corner of your face and mouth. You looked up at him and said “I—.. I told you I wouldn’t.. let you touch... my family..—“ Your voice came out weak and hoarse. This was the breaking point to all those attacks you had to endure before. You had heard a loud crack and pop on impact. And it would be an understatement to say it hurt a lot. You knew that you were at your limit. “Y/N!!” Everyone who knew you cried out. The villain retracted his tentacle. “M-mama?!” Your pups cried, clawing at your legs. They looked up at you teary eyed. “M’ok babies, mommy’s gonna be just fi..—” you started weakly. Your vison started to get blurry. And darkness was the only thing you could see. “Get.. get them away.. don’t wanna fall.. on th..” you started to get out. You knew you were going to faint so you didn’t wanna fall on your pups. Your body began to fall. Before you hit the ground, you felt somebody catch you. By the way they held you, you knew it was one of your alphas. You could hear muffled screams. Your body soon went limp in the arms of whomever was holding you as you could do nothing but welcome the darkness.

Slowly falling in love with Felix part 3! :3
"I don't get why you and Felix argue so much!" Pan groaned as he swung his legs over a fallen tree. "I have been trying to make you two closer… seriously everyone can tell how much you both are smitten with each other!"
"I don't like Felix!" You said, your face flushing suddenly because of the blunt statement. "I don't even know where you got that stupid idea…"
"Come on love, I know how it works. And you know what? You two are my favourites, so get together and stop annoying me with your pointless fighting."
"I would rather die than assume that…" You mumbled as you finished picking berries. "By the way, it is not nice to play favourites."
"You do it too." He smirked, arching an eyebrow. "With Felix." He sang, enjoying embarrassing you.
You approached Pan and handed him the basket with a look. He shook his head with a small laugh, understanding what you meant. After all, you were truly a mother. He disappeared in a foggy green cloud and you hoped he wouldn't eat all the fruits this time. It was always a bad idea to make him your errand boy, but he was fast and could get to the camp quickly thanks to his magic.
Being a mother to a dozen of lost boys was not easy. Between breaking fights and fixing their messes, it was clear you didn't have any time for yourself. You didn’t really care to be honest, you enjoyed being useful and were very good at it, trying to raise those boys.
You sighed as you were closing a hole on Butch's old stuffed animal. The kid would bring it everywhere with him, and even if Felix tried to take it away from Butch, the little one always found a way to find his stuffed animal. It was cute to see that pale and scrawny boy hugging that little plushed dog tightly against his body.
You smiled as you gave Butch his toy back and he muttered a soft thank you before hurrying back to his group of friends. Felix besides you sighed, clearly annoyed at the childish behaviour and you rolled your eyes.
"Stop mothering him." He only stated, his eyes burning into yours.
"I will do what I want, you are no master to me." You replied, slowly standing up to his level. "Besides, I am their mother, it is my job to care for them."
The scarred boy smirked at your remark, and you were a little taken aback. You wondered what was going on through his thick skull. He leant down to your level, and you felt his breath on your neck. It sent a shiver down your side, and you started to grow nervous about what was going to happen.
"You realise they will never be yours, right?"
You let out a shocked and strangled gasp at his statement and watched how proud he was from saying this. That always had been a tough matter to you, and he knew it. He fucking knew it and used it against you, like an insult. You thought he was above using insecurities, but clearly not. You were wrong after all. You pushed him out of your way, walking out enraged, and tried to block out his laughter. He was mocking you as well.
He was a bastard.
You promptly ignored Pan's calls to you as you stomped into the dark jungle and stopped until you approached a cliff's edge. Below it, the sea was crashing against the rocks, and you pondered for a moment. Maybe you should jump, to give your numb body a reaction, or to be away from this mess you pulled yourself into. You just wanted to rest for weeks.
It was never easy to be a mother, to never have someone actually cares about you. You sat down, and pulled your knees to your chest, tears slowly rolling down your cheeks. You hated crying about it, but what Felix told you and... and being exhausted from a never ending job clearly had broken you today.
When you heard someone approaching, you angrily put your head on your knees and closed your eyes, in denial.
"Go away! I don't want to speak to anyone."
"I think you want to listen to what I want to say though."
Your eyes shot up right open and you scowled.
Felix. Of course it was him disturbing your little moment of peace.
You resisted the urge to attack him, and instead focused on ignoring the lost boy. He sighed and walked up to you, kneeling down in the process. You tried to avoid glancing at him, and looked at the horizon.
"I'm..." He started with difficulty. "I am sorry for what I said in the camp. It was... uncalled for."
"Did Pan give you a little recital before coming here?" You hissed, finally daring to glare at him.
"No. I came on my own. I would never lie about this."
You hummed, not fully trusting him. You heard him sighing again and leaving. It was better that way. Felix was like the others, but at least he apologised for his horrid comment earlier.
Later that night, you went to bed with a pained, anxious and sick feeling in your stomach. Deciding to ignore it, you went to bed quickly, very happy that the day had passed and that you didn’t have to deal with Felix. But, you unfortunately had to deal with nightmares
Hands were tied up to your neck, and you couldn’t even protect yourself. The hands belonged to no one, they just swarmed around in the shadows to grasp you.
A set of them were shaking you rather roughly, but you couldn't react. A voice reached your ears, you couldn't understand what it was saying. At this point, you wanted nothing but to throw up. In an ultimate effort to fight the nightmare off, you started to trash against the hands.
"Stop moving! It's me!" Felix's voice reached your mind and snapped you back to reality.
Your eyes snapped wide-open and you gasped, realising you had stopped breathing while you were sleeping. You were sweaty and were pretty sure your hair was all over the place. The blond haired boy was holding both of your hands rather roughly, but you didn't want to say anything about it. You felt like something big was going to happen, and a threat was hung above your head.
Your breath hitched many times as you tried to ask him what he was doing here, but the precious air seemed to stop pumping your lungs and you grasped at Felix's shirt. He immediately took you in his arms, laying down with you as tears fell from your eyes. His big hands circled your back and you slowly calmed down, clutching on to him, your eyes still darting around the tent in the search of danger. Felix must have sensed this, because he kept you closer to him.
"Don't worry, as long as you are with me, no one will ever take you from us. And no one will ever hurt you." He murmured with a soft and the first genuine smile you witnessed him bearing. "I promise."
You nodded eagerly, you never had the intention to leave Neverland, even when you were the first to witness how horrible and terrible this island could be. You have seen Pan snapped so many times toward a boy, but especially to pirates, and you can't count the number of times you had watched him entering the camp, bloody, with Felix at his side, equally looking dishevelled. You realised that you never questioned them about what happened. The only time a boy did it, the second in command screamed it was to protect them and the island. You didn’t know if it was the truth, if they both enjoyed massacring Hook's crew that always came back or if they felt regret at all.
Finally, you felt your breathing come back at its normal pace. You were feeling tired again, but didn't know if he was going to stay. You heard some snores suddenly, and you looked up to see the blond haired boy already asleep. You didn’t care about the consequences of sleeping with Felix at the moment. It was nice, to finally have one little moment for yourself. Ultimately, you curled on yourself, clutching Felix’s arm and fell asleep as well.
"(Y/N)! Devin puts thorns in my shoes!" A boy cried as he entered the tent. "What are you doing with Felix?!" He screeched, waking up both of you.
The blond haired boy immediately blushed when he realised the position he was in, and you completely understood why: you were both tangled in each other limb, and anyone walking through could imagine what had happened. As long as Pan wasn't coming in...
"Come on Felix! At least take the girl on a date before jumping to the most fun part." He chuckled, wiggling his eyebrows with a suggestive tone as he appeared in front of the innocent boy.
"We weren't... doing this!" You cried, feeling your cheeks heating up, embarrassed as you got up from bed to attend to the lost ones.
"What were they doing Pan?" The boy asked curiously and innocently.
"Nothing! Now, let's take a look at your shoes, okay?" You smiled at him while taking his much smaller hand in yours.
As you left the tent, you could hear Pan's laughter echoing in the camp. You bite your lips and ignore the looks of the older lost boys. Word spread like wildfire there. Despite their appearances, the boys were very noisy and you disliked this.
You spent the day avoiding Felix, and by doing so you avoided your feelings growing for him. What was wrong with you? You hated the way he made you feel but you had to admit: what he did last night was... incredible. You had loved the way he had embraced you and calmed you down almost immediately. After all, there wasn't only bad in him.
You cluelessly smiled to yourself as you thought this and nearly bumped into Peter Pan, who appeared suddenly in front of your person with that sly look... You knew it, and rolled his eyes at him with a sigh.
"You are so in love with him, aren't you?" He sang as leant against a tree with his arms crossed. "Felix is shy, so maybe you should... ask him what he feels about you."
"Of course not! That is private. I am not going to pester him with..."
"But he loves you too!" The green eyed boy cut you and groaned in annoyance. "I just want my favourite lost ones to be... to be happy. I know you both can't hear the music, so therefore you aren't truly lost and I don't care about that. I don't enjoy seeing both of my friends sulking." He admitted, a little embarrassed after pouring his thoughts on your situation. "It's my rules after all. I can bend them or break them whenever I feel the need to."
You pondered for a moment after what Peter Pan told you. You walked over, and leant next to him as well. Most of the time, Pan had treated you like you were his maid or a mother, often mocking you for being it. But he knew why it was important for you and that you enjoyed caring for the boys. It was surprising for him to be called his friend, and an immense honor.
"Fine... I will do it. I will talk to Felix." You assured him with a soft smile and you playfully ruffled his hair.
He snorted at your motion and attempted to do the same to your hair. Two members of a sentry appeared, cutting short to the fun. You stayed next to Pan as he listened to what they had discovered: apparently, Hook and his ship were back to Neverland. You gulped nervously: the last time he came, it ended badly for both sides. You had never seen Pan that furious and enraged. You glanced at the lost boy leader and he commanded you to get back to the camp as fast as possible. You understood why, he didn’t want to endanger you.
You spent most of the night at the main campfire, wondering when Pan and the two boys will come back. You hoped none of them were injured... Hook seemed stronger and stronger each time he returned to the island. You shuddered as a sudden cold wind reached and you cursed yourself for not having thicker clothes.
"You look cold." Felix's monotonous voice said behind you. "Here let me..."
Not daring looking at him, you let him do what he intended. The familiar worn out wool cloak was now hugging your figure and instantly warmed you up.
"Thank you..." You whispered, not wanting to wake up the sleeping boys. "I think I am just tired." You tried to justify.
"Why don't you go to sleep then?" He asked as he sat down next to you, his eyes staring into the fire.
"I want to wait for the others. I have to make sure they come back safely." You blurted out immediately and worriedly.
"You are a good mother." The young man murmured, and you swore you saw the tips of his ears reddening a little.
Remembering your talk with Pan, you gulped nervously and played with your hair for a moment, trying to find the right words to admit your feelings. You were very tense, and hoped he would take it well. Finally, you found some courage in your frail body and looked directly at him. The lost one seemed concerned for a moment but waited for you to speak.
"Felix I... I care about you a lot." You tried, hoping he would understand.
"I do too." He confessed with a rare and genuine smile. "I care about you as well, more than the boys actually."
You sighed in relief with a small laugh. So he was not that of an idiot after all! That immediately reassured you.
"You matter for me... as well as Pan."
"Wh... What?" You breathlessly stuttered, eyebrows furrowimg in confusion.
"I care about you the same I care about Pan." He repeated confidently. "I will always have your back. It feels nice to say it."
"Right..."
You were such an idiot. You thought Felix loved you, obviously, he didn't. Then why was he sometimes... caring? Wasn't he the one who brought you the flowers in the first place? Wasn't it the reason why he messed with you a lot? You shook your head, hoping that your thoughts and feelings would disappear.
"I am tired. I should get to bed." You said, clearly sounding disappointed and taking off the cloak.
"It is for the best. I will stay, don't worry. You look a bit sick... you okay?" Felix questioned as you handed him back his cloak.
"Yes... Yes, don't worry about me." You gave him a fake reassuring smile and yet his eyes seemed to understand you were lying but he didn't question it.
What an imbecile you were, you thought as you stomped toward your small tent. Sometimes you wished you could take out your own heart and crush it beneath your foot. You hated having feelings.

Monday: Klance Drabble - teddyylou
Keith woke to gentle kisses being pressed to the shell of his ear. Wrapped up under the warm covers of his bed, he pulled the strong arm that was hugged around his middle even tighter, pressing his boyfriend’s hand, which had crept up under his shirt as they slept, to his chest, kissing his knuckles.
“Hmm, morning, baby,” Lance hummed, burying his nose snuggly into Keith’s mess of black hair. Keith felt him breathe out happily, the way their feet brushed together at the foot of the bed adding to the serene feeling that was swiftly taking over all of his senses. Every place on him that Lance touched tingled with a warmth that sent goosebumps all over his body, and every breath they took in unison as they snoozed well past Keith’s alarm made his heart swell and his smile grow exponentially.
“Morning, Lance. Mmh, it’s so sunny and nice you could almost forget that it’s Monday,” he mumbled, rolling over so that he could face his boyfriend. “And your sleepy voice is just so sexy,” he giggled, pressing their foreheads together.
Lance scrunched up his face, still yet to open his eyes, simply holding Keith closer to him to stop him from wriggling around so much. “Yeah, you can even hear the birds chirping,” he replied with a content sigh, purposefully skipping over Keith’s crass sentiment.
“Aw, you also say really sappy, cliche things when you’re half asleep. Did you know that?” Keith’s aimed a toothy grin at Lance as he opened his eyes to lour, who merely pulled the pillow out from under Keith’s head and gently smack it back down over his face which a ‘whump’.
Keith tossed it aside, rolling over to share Lance’s pillow so that he could press a kiss to his lips. ‘The first one of the day’ he thought to himself, closed mouth to avoid Lance’s nasty morning breath.
“Hey Lance, you know you have terrible morn-”
Knock, knock.
“Keith, are you up? I heard your alarm go off. Breakfast will be on the table in five; don’t make me come and get you.” Keith and Lance froze as Keith’s mother spoke gently through the door from the hallway. Keith even heard Lance hold his breath.
“Yeah, uh, coming mum,” he called back. They waited for her footsteps to disappear down the hall before Keith could even tear his eyes away from the door, relaxing against his bed as Lance let out his breath with a disappointed sigh. He knew what was coming.
“Okay, Romeo, out you go.” Keith patted Lance’s thigh as he pulled back the covers. Lance, left only in his sweatpants, laid firmly on the mattress shaking his head.
“Nooo, I don’t want to go. Let me stay,” he whined, attempting to pull Keith back against his chest before he could reach for the hoodie he’d stolen from him about a week prior.
“Mum would kill me if she knew you’d been sneaking in at night, you have to,” Keith pleaded, eyes wide as he tried to force Lance out of his bed.
“Keith, I’ve been staying here about three nights a week for the last two months! You don’t think she knows?” He asked, leaning over the bed to put his socks back on, tying his converse with a huff.
“Nope,” Keith said frankly, shaking his arms until his hands poked out of the ends of Lance’s hoodie. He climbed out of bed, catching one of Lance’s arms as he grabbed his shirt, pulling him to his feet. “And she isn’t going to find out. Now, window. Out.” Keith gave Lance a gentle push towards the second-storey window, an easily slidable roof just underneath it that would drop Lance in the front yard of Keith’s house. Lance held his hand up to his heart, scorned.
“Nine whole months I’ve loved you and here you are, forcing your dear, sweet boyfriend out of a window to ride his bike the whole way home. How you wound me,” he feigned. Keith raised an unsympathetic brow, arms crossed over his chest.
“Forsooth,” he mused, causing Lance’s facade to crack with the upturn of the corner of his lip.
“Ah, so you finally did your English homework,” Lance said, one foot already standing on top of the garage. He straddled the window sill as he slid on his shirt.
“I may has't,” Keith smiled before dawdling over to Lance, handing him his phone. “See you at school.”
“Don’t be late,” Lance said, standing fully on the roof so that he could lean back in, hands supporting him on the sill. “I love you.”
Lance kissed Keith sweetly, clearly not caring as much about morning breath as Keith did.
“I love you too,” Keith said before leaning in again, even if he knew that Lance did it on purpose, because Keith really just wanted to kiss his boyfriend. “Bye.”
“Bye,” they muttered to each other between short pecks before Lance pushed himself up, slid down the roof, and landed skilfully on the lawn. Keith watched him as he ran down to the street, pulling his bike out of the bush he had stowed it in, and rode off towards his own house. Keith watched until he’d disappeared over the crest of the hill that led to his street, actually enjoying the warm sun and the singing birds because Mondays were always good when he started them next to Lance.
“Whatcha lookin’ at?” Keith was startled back to reality by his mother’s voice. He’d not even noticed she’d come back up to find him.
“Oh just… some birds,” Keith lied. Krolia stared at her son for a second.
“Okay,” she replied. “Come get breakfast, we have to leave soon.”
“Cool, be down in a sec.”
***
Keith woke up tangled in sheets and all of the extra blankets he and Lance had thrown over themselves as they went to sleep the night before. His entire body was engulfed in the warmth of the strong arms holding him close, heat radiating off Lance’s chest that was pressed tight to Keith’s back.
Lance groaned as they both stirred, instantly pulling Keith even closer as the raven wiggled around to face his boyfriend. Keith felt a sleepy kiss against his forehead as he tucked his face into Lance’s neck. It was warm there. No need or desire lingered to go anywhere else.
Lance adjusted his feet to intertwine them with Keith’s. He, however, managed to pull the blankets with him as he did and for a brief moment, a gust of piercing cold air let itself into their safe cocoon. In unison, they gasped an indigent “Ah!” and huddled in together, giggling as they found themselves safe from the dreary Monday morning weather.
They laid in silence, sharing soft, lazy kisses as the rain poured on outside. The windows were fogged and if they tried just the slightest it was as if nothing else in the world existed outside Keith’s bedroom.
Until they heard shuffling around in the kitchen below.
Keith let out a deep sigh, placing a few more kisses to Lance’s defined collar bone before patting his side solemnly.
“Hhh, you should probably go now,” he weighed the unfortunate words on his tongue as he spoke. Lance merely groaned in response, snuggling deeper under the mountain of soft blankets where the sting of the outside couldn’t get him.
“Keith, baby. You can’t possibly make me go out there. You wouldn’t make me ride home in the rain,” Lance begged, holding him and rocking him, like a half-hearted shakedown. Keith huffed, considering his options for a second.
He peeked his head out of the covers, hair still a mess over his face. It looked so cold out there that his skin prickled just at the thought of it. But then he thought of his mother downstairs, catching them. Each rattle of a closing kitchen draw made his heart pound. It was a tough choice.
“Oh my god, you’re gonna make me ride home. I can’t believe my small, loving, sweet boyfriend is going to send me out like this. I could catch a cold Keith. Do you wanna be the one looking after this snotty-nosed bastard?” Lance persisted almost too loudly and pointed to himself.
Keith snorted and placed his hand over Lance’s mouth to hush him. He thought about it for a second longer, eyes narrowed to a squint, shifting from the bedroom door to the window. Lance’s eyes remained wide as he awaited Keith’s verdict.
“Fine,” Keith said after a second. Lance whispered an elated cheer before pulling the both of them back under the blanket pile to cuddle.
Keith didn’t know what his next move was, but while he was laying so comfortably and soundly in Lance’s arms he was sure of one thing. That move was not going to be for many, many minutes. He opened his eyes so that he was just staring blankly at Lance’s chest as the brunet carded a hand through Keith’s knotty hair—the pair simply pretending that it wasn’t as such due to Keith sleeping like the dead, and Lance’s fingers totally weren’t getting stuck and tugging on a knot every few strokes.
Keith was almost completely lulled back to sleep when he heard a knock.
“Keith, I called you already what are you up to?” His mother’s voice became increasingly clearer as the door opened ajar and without a second to lose he threw the blankets over Lance’s head, holding them tightly up to his chin. He hoped it looked like he was just really cold, and that their entangled bodies just looked like Keith under a mass of about four quilts.
If Krolia knew anything, she wasn’t letting on; Keith thought he was safe.
“Oh, yeah, sorry. Bit hard to get out of bed today. I have to plan my course wisely to get from here to the warm shower with as little time in the antarctic hallway as possible,” Keith explained, trying to appear nonchalant as Lance feathered kisses to anywhere he could reach on Keith’s chest without moving. Krolia nodded inconspicuously.
“Okay, well, breakfast is on the table, get it while it’s hot,” she told him taking a step back out of the room. She stopped, however, just as she was about to close the door. “Oh, and there is a place set for Lance too,” she eyed Keith smugly, a faint smirk on her lips as she closed the door.
Keith heard a quiet ‘oh fuck’ from under the covers and, well, yeah. That.

Arc Two (redux) 57
(Okay I’m biased but I absolutely love this scene)
Hadley whirled around—didn’t need the radar. Fear shot her sideways just moments before a missile crashed into the rock where she had been, sending shrapnel higher than the gate. A small sting in her arm—no time to think about that. She turned and ran as her enemy took aim again.
“Get to your mech!” Nyota repeated, fear snapping her words into almost a bark. “You don’t stand a chance against that thing outside it.”
“In a minute!” Hadley snapped back. Still had some clarity. Some time. “What is that thing?”
Fingers on keyboard sounded like gunfire through the mic. “It’s some kind of drone. Automated. We aren’t detecting any communications to it.”
“Great, great.” No one to aim at her little beacon, then. Hadley rolled behind the gate to avoid one more shot and drove the beacon into the loose ground where the first shot had knocked the tiles free. Then she took off again before the drone’s sensors could figure out she’d done anything.
*
Nyota’s breath hissed between her teeth as she realized what Hadley had done. Hadley must have heard her, because she could almost hear the cocky smile in the ex-bandit’s voice as she said, “I had a job to do, right, Captain? Can’t leave it half done.”
The pneumatic hiss of the mech closing cut off any attempt at a reply. Nyota grinned and shook her head, then strode toward the teleporter. “Lumen, you’re in charge.”
“Captain, what are ya doin’?” His voice went sharp as glass as she grabbed her environmental protection unit off the rack.
“Hadley gave us an opening,” Nyota said. The teleporter chimed as it registered the new beacon. “I intend to use it.”
“Without a mech?” He started to follow, flaring bright with fear and worry. “All due respect an’ all, Captain, but that’s above yer bend! Ya ain’t got a—”
“Lumen.”
He stopped as she turned her eyes on him.
“She did her job.” Nyota closed her hand around her staff. “I’m going to go do mine.”
*
It was fast, Hadley would give it that. And tough. Her shot didn’t do much more than glance off the drone’s hard armored body. Felt like the damn thing was leering at her as she barely twisted out of the way of another blast. Its ‘face’ was some kind of monitor with a winking smile emoji plastered across it. She really hated that one. Her second brother used it way too much.
“Maybe if I imagine it’s Teo…” she muttered. Hm, nope. He could be just as robotic as this thing, but she didn’t hate him quite that much.
Force slammed her mech and spun stars over her sight. Hadley coughed and swore. “Really hate this thing.” A warning light was blinking at her. She wasn’t sure which one. She fired anyway and grinned a little bit as a few hairline cracks split the smiling monitor. The grin tasted like blood. That was fine. She’d lived through worse. She dodged the next shot and shoved the mech high out of reach as the drone tried to ram her.
“That’s right. Come and get some, you bastard.”
*
The nausea faded fast, and Nyota spent her first breath silently thanking luck for being beside her for once. Her second went to taking stock of the moment. She saw Hadley spin out of the way as the drone charged, missed by a hair, sparks trailing from her damaged mech. The drone was damaged too, but not by much.
You risk your life for her. Nyota hissed softly, fierce fanged grin aimed at herself as the thought caught up. She could not deny it. Alone, unarmored, protected by nothing but her speed and wits against something that could smash through that heavy mech.
Nyota shook her head, argued against the doubt. She is useful. Reckless, insubordinate, so prone to defiance, so quick to rise against Nyota’s authority. She is clever. She fights well. She fought against us.
That flash of orange, the fear in such young eyes.
