tommy rescues the most scrungly crusty cat, she is missing patches of fur as well as an eye and has been through hell. she hates people but warmed up to tommy quickly. when ever people come over to tommts home she either hides or becomes a nuisance to whom ever is the guest. shortly after buck and tommy make amends tommy invites buck to his home but warns buck that he recently got a cat who hates everyone. tommy leaves buck in the living room to grab them coffee and tea. he comes back to his cat resting on buck's lap purring softly. he has never seen her do that to anyone else but tommy, it warms his heart immediately.

Stardew Valley OC Rigel weeeee Heâs supposed to be a farmer but he foragers and fishes more than he farms...
Template by @gryphll
If you canât read little notes next to some of them:
Top left is Rigel pre stardew. He wears a customer service smile. Itâs noted that Rigelâs eyes, usually half lidded cause heâs bored or tired, look like they have stars when light actually shines on him(A nudge to his name being a name of a star)
-Dresses like an eboy
-Important little detail is the fact he has a beauty mark!
-Has scars from when he goes through the mines
-Due to his adventures...muscle developed...Rigel b00ba
-Doesnât NEED glasses, only wore them pre-stardew for blue light and wears sunglasses for aesthetic
-Pants, one of his cows, is named that b/c someone he met in passing informed him that cow sounded like the word in their language(Khmer) for pants
-Felis is also named after a star and constellation! The cat one to be precise. Rigel is actually a star in Orion, so one would think I wouldâve given him a dog and named it Sirius but nooo itâs Felis. For cat. Cause heâs just...vibe more with cats
-Despite many years working in a company he sucks at math
-When he quit his job at the company, he wanted to ruin them by setting up the printers in order to just print out stupid pictures or stupid text. Theyâre a corporation, gotta make their money go to waste
-Partner is roulette wheel because I use a Poly Mod cause Iâm a completionist+ am indecisive so I couldnât decide on who to make him marry. Plus I like thinking of his dynamics with everyone anyways depending on timelines/routes
-Felis is a Havana brown cat!

FFXV - Kitty!AU - Weskham
A/N: Been awhile for this AU hasnât it? Time to dust off the cobwebs...and try to not have a cat pounce me in the process. XDÂ
I figured it was about time we added Weskham to the AU. Luche, Tredd, and Loqi are also going to work their way into the Clowder. So letâs see what we can learn about our wonderful little Wesky, shall we?

Sitting comfortably in your picture window, listening to the rain outside as Prompto and Libertus were curled up on your lap. Petting them gently your eyes started to close as you were relaxed, and warm on this rainy cold day...
Only to get slightly startled awake by the sound of your phone going off. With a grunt, and a bit of struggling to get Libertus off you, you made your way over to your phone, but you didnât recognize the number.Â
âHello?â
âYes hi, Iâm sorry to call unexpectedly, usually I send messages first, but the breeder of Regis informed me of your number, and I had to reach out to you..âÂ
They went on to explain they had a Tom they needed to retire, however, their plans for him fell through, and you were their last resort.Â
âI am sorry to burden you with another mouth to feed--â
âAh, no itâs alright. Thatâs not a problem,â you said with a smile. âCan I meet him?â
âOf course! I will send you the address. Thank you so much for your time.â
When you arrived you were greeted by a gentle handshake and a warm smile. âHe is this way..â
You were lead further into their home to a small room where Weskham was waiting. You were in awe at his golden eyes and dark brown coat. âWell hello there handsome.â
He purred to you loudly, instantly jumping from his perch to greet you.Â
âI see that this was meant to be,â the breeder remarked. âHe doesnât just take to anyone.â
With a laugh, you gently scooped him up, and brought Weskham home to meet the rest of your clowder.
Weskham - A Havana Brown - came to you much as Regis and Clarus did, a breeder wished to retire their Tom - and they of course contacted you because of the King and Shadow you adopted. You couldnât say no to his sweet face.
Demure at times with new people, one to watch and observe while he quietly purrs at a distance.
His purrs are soft and rumbly, and he sometimes with trill or burble toward the end.
Super affectionate with you. Adores pets, and cuddles. Loves to sit on your lap while you read on the couch, or on your computer chair. Must be near you in someway that you can hear him.
His meows are soft, not super loud unless someone does something he really doesnât like. You have only heard him screech once at Titus when he was getting rambunctious with everyone. Needless to say, Titus hasnât messed with him again.
When you arrive home he talks with you, and follows you around your house - you swear heâs asking you how your day went. And when you pause to talk to him, heâll figure eight around your legs.
Kinda iffy on dry kibble - will eat it if thatâs all there is.
Loves treats, and Canned food, but will do better on the higher end, semi-moist foods due to his age. [Donât tell him that however.]
He adores puzzle toys. Anything where he has to solve a small puzzle to get a treat? He is all over. You watch him stare at it, tail tip swaying slowly before he starts batting things around with his paws. And you have found that you have had to get more complex puzzle toys because he, once he solves them, grows tired of the same ones over and over again.
Loves pouncing on the teaser toys, specially the fluffy red feathered one you recently got.
Will observe you quietly in the kitchen while you cook, or prepare meals. Itâs not as if he judges you like Ignis likes to do on occasion, he simply is content to watch.
Watches the birds out the window with Prompto, chittering just as much as Prompto does.
He doesnât go outside much. Content to remain inside with the patio door open however and observe you having a nice time outside. If he does come out, heâll remain in the backyard, close to the deck, chasing the small bugs in the semi-tall grass there.
He gets along with all the other cats in your clowder, even the grumpy ones. Ravus even gets along well with him. However with Titus and Ardyn, he keeps his distance a little. Though in turn, the two also keep their distance from him.
Affectionate with Regis, Clarus, Cid, Cor and Noctis. You find it amazing that he simply wanders up and is able to wash all of them, either between the ears or on their face, and none of them complain. You laugh however as this always puts Noctis to sleep.
He adores Cindy, and will play with her often when she comes into the house.
You will find him often cuddled up with Talcott and Iris, the two smaller kitties curled up next to his belly as heâs curled around them. [Heâs protective of those two.]
Will sleep with you at night, usually curled up close to your arms, or next to your hip. Will curl himself about Ravus or Luna if they are in his spot near you. He is more than content to share.

Goodbye November & hello December!
Somehow I managed to read 16 books this month⊠Granted, 7 of these were graphic novels, but still! Iâm pretty freaking proud of myself đ
Letâs see which books I read this monthâŠ
Whew! November felt like a whirlwind. I know December is going to be just as crazy, but I am still hoping to be able to get back into my blogging routine. I am loving my new job and look forward to going to work each day. Even though my life is a little chaotic these days as a working Mom, I am still very thankful to be living my dream.
» West(East #2) by Edith Pattou
While East was a 5-star read, West was a solid sequel.
» Nightbooksby J.A. White
Wonderful MG book that would be perfect to pick up around Halloween time!
» The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow
I had a hard time at the beginning of this book, but once I found my reading rhythm it was smooth sailing. I adored this heartwarming story of love, grief, and perseverance.
» When We Left Cuba by Chanel Cleeton
After reading Next Year in Havana and really enjoying it, I knew Iâd read this spin off since Beatriz caught my attention in NYiH. This book was just as good as NYiH! Loved all the political intrigue & espionage.
» Ninth House (Alex Stern #1) by Leigh Bardugo
*3.5 Stars*
I think the concept for this story was brilliant. Unfortunately, I felt like I was thrown into the story without enough backstory or build up. The flow & pacing was off for me. I will read the next installment since I am intrigued enough to continue on.
» Sadie by Courtney Summers
This was an excellent audiobook! LOVED how the author chose to end it.
» The Wild Robot by Peter Brown
Such a heartwarming read! Definitely recommend this one for MG readers that enjoy animal stories.
» The Stonekeeper (Amulet #1) by Kazu Kibuishi
» Nightlights(Nightlights #1) by Lorena Alvarez Gomez
I wouldnât really consider this a graphic novel, but rather a âmiddle grade picture book.â The story wasnât anything special, but the illustrations were absolutely stunning!
» Jane, the Fox, and Me by Fanny Britt
Another book I would consider a âmiddle grade pictureâ book since it is so short. I am a huge Jane Eyre fan, so it really shouldnât be a surprise that I loved this book. Do I think the target audience will appreciate it as much as I did? Probably notâŠ
» Mighty Jack (Mighty Jack #1) by Ben Hatke
I really enjoyed this Jack and the beanstalk retelling! I also loved the inclusion of an autistic main character.
» Little House in the Big Woods(Little House #1) by Laura Ingalls Wilder
Such a heartwarming classic! This was my first time reading Little House in the Big Woods. I cannot wait to continue on with this classic series.
» Pashimina by Nidhi Chanani
A lovely story about an Indian-American girl that is struggling with her identity.
» Braveby Svetlana Chmakova
LOVED this graphic novel from the illustrations to the story. A wonderful depiction of the struggles of middle school.
» Allâs Faire in Middle Schoolby Victoria Jamieson
I really enjoyed that the main characterâs family were all actors in the local Renaissance Festival. Another great MG book about the struggles of middle school.
» Emily of New Moon by L.M. Montgomery
After reading the Anne of Green Gables series back in 2017/18, I knew I wanted to read more of L.M. Montgomeryâs books. I loved Emily just as much as Anne!

» The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes
Set in Depression-era America, a breathtaking story of five extraordinary women and their remarkable journey through the mountains of Kentucky and beyond, from the author of Me Before You
Alice Wright marries handsome American Bennett Van Cleve hoping to escape her stifling life in England. But small-town Kentucky quickly proves equally claustrophobic, especially living alongside her overbearing father-in-law. So when a call goes out for a team of women to deliver books as part of Eleanor Rooseveltâs new traveling library, Alice signs on enthusiastically.
The leader, and soon Aliceâs greatest ally, is Margery, a smart-talking, self-sufficient woman whoâs never asked a manâs permission for anything. They will be joined by three other singular women who become known as the Packhorse Librarians of Kentucky.
What happens to themâand to the men they loveâbecomes an unforgettable drama of loyalty, justice, humanity and passion. These heroic women refuse to be cowed by men or by convention. And though they face all kinds of dangers in a landscape that is at times breathtakingly beautiful, at others brutal, theyâre committed to their job: bringing books to people who have never had any, arming them with facts that will change their lives.
Based on a true story rooted in Americaâs past, The Giver of Stars is unparalleled in its scope and epic in its storytelling. Funny, heartbreaking, enthralling, it is destined to become a modern classicâa richly rewarding novel of womenâs friendship, of true love, and of what happens when we reach beyond our grasp for the great beyond.
 » Crenshaw by Katherine Applegate
In her first novel since winning the Newbery Medal, Katherine Applegate delivers an unforgettable and magical story about family, friendship, and resilience.
Jackson and his family have fallen on hard times. Thereâs no more money for rent. And not much for food, either. His parents, his little sister, and their dog may have to live in their minivan. Again.
Crenshaw is a cat. Heâs large, heâs outspoken, and heâs imaginary. He has come back into Jacksonâs life to help him. But is an imaginary friend enough to save this family from losing everything?
Beloved author Katherine Applegate proves in unexpected ways that friends matter, whether real or imaginary.

Korat Cat â Always a Silver Lining Breed Cat
Korat Cat â Always a Silver Lining Breed Cat
Korat cat â During the Nixon and Ford administrations, one of the more popular television programs was a quiz show called âTo Tell the Truth.â Panelists on this program tried to determine, by asking a number of questions, which of three individuals purporting to be the same person actually was that person. Before this show, along with Gerald Ford, was sent to the Neilsen boneyard, it gave birth to one expression that qualified for the American Dictionary of Trite Phraseology. That expression is, Will the real ⊠please stand up?
Korat Cat â Deja Who?
Imagine that âTo Tell The Truthâ has been revived with a two-contestant format that includes animals as well as people. Then imagine that tonightâs first contestants are two handsome cats. Contestant number one is a biscuit-colored gentleman with dark, double-fudge-brown coloring where his face, ears, legs, and tail reside. Contestant number two is a shimmering fellow whose coat, it has been said, has âroots like clouds, and tips like silverâ and whose luminous, green, stop-your-heart-dead-in-its-tracks eyes âshine like dewdrops on the lotus leaf.â
âI am the cat of the Siamese people,â says the first contestant with great conviction.
âI am the cat of the Siamese,â says contestant number two.
In the interest of space and the carrying capacity of the current metaphor, we shall fast-forward to the end of the segment â to the part where the announcer says, âWill the real cat of the Siamese people please stand up?â
Contestant number one, the two-tone entry, flicks an ear as if heâs about to move (a standard ploy on this show), but ultimately the sea-foam-and-silver cat stands up. Contestant number one, after explaining that he is, indeed, a Siamese cat, but not the cat of the Siamese people, is excused for the evening. Meanwhile, contestant number two, who introduces himself as a Korat Cat, reports that even though he and the other cat are indeed natives of Siam (which became Thailand in 1939), the Thai people regard the Korat as their national cat.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
We Are Siamese
Although the Korat Cat is believed to have made its way to Siam from the Malaysian jungles, no one knows exactly when that migration took place. According to Daphne Negus, former editor of Cat World magazine, the earliest known picture of a Korat appears in The Cat-Book Poems, an ancient volume of painting and verse that was produced during the Ayudhya Period (1350-1767) in Siam.
A founding member of the Korat Cat Fanciers Association, Negus explained that although the Korat Cat was named after a province in Thailand, the cat is found in most of the other municipalities in its native country. There the Korat Cat is called the Si-Sawat, a compound word that means âa mingled color of gray and light green.â Because the root word Sawat means âgood luck,â the Korat Cat is also known as the good luck cat.
In 1896 a blue-colored cat was entered in the Siamese class at the National Cat Club show in England by a gentleman named Spearman, who was recently home from Siam. When the judge rejected the cat because its body was blue instead of biscuit-colored like the other Siamese, Spearman protested that his cat was, indeed, from Siam, and that he had seen others like it when he was there.
Sixteen years later one writer declared that Spearmanâs cat had been the first bluepoint Siamese ever exhibited; but there is also reason to believe that Spearmanâs cat was, instead, the first Korat Cat to be exhibited. For Korats Cats and Siamese â and Burmese, too â are all common to Siam.
We have this on the authority of the anonymous author of the aforementioned Cat-Book Poems, which is preserved in the Thai National Library in Bangkok. This illustrated work, rescued from the Siamese city of Ayudha when it was destroyed by Burmese invaders in 1767, describes several kinds of âSiameseâ cats.
One â a white-haired variety with black tail, feet, and ears â resembles the modern Siamese. Another is a chocolate cat that could be the ancestor of the Burmese (and/or the Havana brown). A third is a blue cat, quite possibly the forebear of the Korat Cat. Since Ayudha was 417 years old when the Cat-Book Poems was rescued, it is reasonable to assume that the Korat Cat is more than two centuries old, and perhaps much older. (It is not reasonable to assume, however, that the Korat was found only in the province after which it was named.)
Whether that âBlue Siameseâ exhibited in England in 1896 was a Korat Cat or a bluepoint Siamese is not certain, wrote former Cat Fanciersâ Association (CFA) president Richard H. Gebhardt, âbut it has been established that the seal point Siamese ⊠carries the gene for blue color; and there surely had to have been some cross-breedings between Siamese and the self-colored blue cats in Siam, for it has also been reported that bluepoint kittens appeared in the litters born to the earliest Korats cats imported to this country. Thus it is safe to assume that the Korat Cat began life in the United States as an established hybrid, which is how [CFA] classified the breed when it was first recognized.â
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Korat Cat â Baskinâ in Mr. Robinsâ
Although a gentleman named Robins living in New York City in 1906 asserted that blue cats then existed in the province of Korat Cat, little else was known about the breed in this country until a pair of Korats Cats was shipped to Jean Johnson of Gresham, Oregon, from a friend in Thailand. The cats â a brother and sister named Nara and Darra â reached Portland, Oregon, on June 12, 1959.
Johnson and her husband Robert lived in Thailand from 1947 to 1953. During that time she asked her Thai friends where she could find a Siamese cat, which she described as cream-colored with a dark face, etc. Her friends looked at her as though something was getting lost in translation.
Johnson was thinking of the basic seal point Siamese, and eventually, she obtained one; but when she did, her Thai friends told her that while this was, indeed, a Siamese cat, it was not the cat of the Siamese people. That honor belongs to the Korat Cat. Even in the dark, they explained, the initiated could tell the difference because the eyes of the Siamese cat shine like rubies, while the Koratâs shine like emeralds.
In September 1964 the New York Times reported the appearance of two Korats at the Empire Cat Club show. The following year the Korat Cat Fanciers Association was formed. Its preliminary membership consisted of 26 breeders and/or owners in North America. These dedicated fanciers submitted a proposed breed standard to several North American registries, and the Korat Cat was accepted for championship competition in 1966 by a few of the minor cat associations. The following year CFA, the largest registry in North America, granted the Korat Cat championship status, and now the Korat Cat is universally accepted on this continent.
Such acceptance did not occur until the perseverance and enthusiasm of the breedâs earliest advocates had prevailed against the opposition of the sort expressed by a judge who remarked, âWhy do we need another blue cat?â
To be sure the cat fancy already had at the time Russian blues and British blues (a color, not a breed, but a blue cat nonetheless). Daphne Negus provided one all-encompassing reason why there was room for another blue cat in the pedigreed heavens. âThose of us who live with Korats cats and love them find satisfaction and happiness in their companionship that we can never find in any other.â (Whatâs more, the Russian blue has a modified wedge-shaped head. The Korat has a heart-shaped face and larger eyes.)
The Bottom Lines with Korat Cat
Korat Cat â Always a Silver Lining Breed Cat
The Koratâs universal acceptance was preceded by much discussion about whether the Korat Cat might actually be a blue Burmese. âThere was a great similarity in body type between the two breeds at the time,â wrote Gebhardt, âand both had overly large eyes and close-lying fur.
Consideration was given to registering the Korat Cat as a Burmese color, not as a separate breed, but Burmese breeders would have rather died than accept any color other than sable into their breed.â
The Korat Cat has been a cat of good fortune indeed. There are no genetic deficiencies attached to this breed. Although some outcrosses were made to bluepoint Siamese in order to enlarge the Korat gene pool after it had first been brought to the United States, the overriding concern of the Korat Cat breed club has been to keep this cat as pure â and as true to its original look â as possible. The breed club further requires that anyone wishing to register a Korat must show proof that the cat originated in Thailand.
Korat Cat â The Building Code
The Korat Cat is a shimmering, silver-blue cat with a heart-shaped face and luminous green eyes. Viewed in profile the Korat Cat exhibits a slight stop between forehead and nose, and the latter is graced by a lionesque, downward curve just above the nose leather. While most registries count as undesirable a nose âthat appears either long or short in proportion,â at least one group prefers a short nose.
Unusually prominent eyes invest the Koratâs expression with remarkable depth and brilliance. The eyes are well-rounded and oversized for the face, but the eye aperture assumes an Asian slant when fully or partially closed.
The Korat Cat has large ears, with rounded tips and considerable flare at the base. Set high on the head, the ears contribute to the Koratâs keen, intelligent appearance.
All registries agree that the Korat Cat is âsemi-cobby, neither compact nor svelte.â Medium in size, the Korat Cat is broad-chested, muscular and supple, has ample space between its forelegs, carries its back in a curve, and may also carry in its tail a slight kink, as long as itâs not a visible one.
The Korat Cat is a single-coated cat with short or short-to-medium hair that is glossy, fine, close-lying and tipped with silver â the more liberally tipped, the better. The coat over the spine is inclined to break when the catwalks.
Personality Profile of Korat Cat
We get a tremendous amount of enjoyment out of our Korats,â said one Korat Cat fancier from Smithtown, New York. âIf my husband is working at the computer, the cats have to help him print out. If Iâm housecleaning, they have to help there, too. Theyâre into the swing of things by the time theyâre two or three months old.â
For all their inquisitiveness â âwherever you donât expect to find a cat, thatâs where theyâll beâ â Korats cats are not a talkative breed. âThey seldom speak above a whisper, and thatâs another thing I really appreciate about them.â
