I like to think Hiccup has whole 'conversations' with Toothless that are essentially incomprehensible to anyone but them (they consist of little human language–mostly draconic noises and body language as well as signals/cues specific to Hiccup and Toothless) the other riders are used to it at this point, but a lot of people are very much not and find it incredibly confusing.

Its started a lot of rumors of Hiccup being some 'dragon whisperer' that can actually speak to and command them and the other riders tease him about it relentlessly because he despises the rumors and always tries to correct them. Like every time they're brought up he'll say something along the lines of "No. If u actually pay attention to and connect with them, adapting to their way of communication isn't hard. I don't actually speak with them ur just not observant enough" and is constantly ignored

Sorry for the delay anon! It’s been a day. That’s not a dumb question at all. I’ve always had this idea/belief that they would pick specific people to sing certain verses/lyrics. In IICF, Liam and Niall sing the part of each verse that repeats. Meaning H/L sing the “unique” parts of the song. I always figured Harry did that on purpose, to make those unique parts stand out more, so to speak.

I do kind of wonder if the implicit assumption that Door is mad at Alan for involving Saga should be re-examined a little bit.

The game is very careful to not frame any of Saga's relationships as paternalistic. Like, repeatedly, with emphasis, especially among the relationships with people who are close to her and have reasons to act protective over her. Having Door primarily be motivated by a sense of righteousness over someone messing with his protectorate goes against theme with her, and would single him out as the only male character whose help Saga does need.

Furthermore, we know Freya didn't seem to think that highly of Door, never telling Saga anything about him and being firm in not wanting to discuss the topic. Her considering Door a potential danger to Saga just like her powers and choosing to hide the truth to protect her wouldn't make sense if she, too, could use her seer powers to confirm that Door did have Saga's best interest at heart, and with Door existing outside of time, I don't think there's adequate signalling that this would be something he would have had a change of heart about.

Furthermore, while Door is very likeable and definitely not a villain or even an antagonist... he is very trickster-like, and seems very cavalier with how he chooses to interfere and when. From his interactions with the Old Gods, spending fourty years on kill-on-sight terms with them only to happily fanboy over having them on his show and collaborate with them to mess with Alan, to the way he almost deigned to let Alan create a hint for Saga about how to use her powers rather than letting Saga and Tim just work it out amongst themselves, he's playing the long game in every situation and seems to enjoy making the story take twists and turns because of his involvement.

So Door is in a weird superposition of meddlesome/hands-off largely because I almost got a sense that with Saga, he's keeping his distance on purpose. Keeping himself concealed and out of the conversation, despite much of her story being discovering her origins and discovering her own supernatural influence. Outside of letting Alan create a single manuscript page about him, he doesn't even hint at his own existence while Saga is in the Dark Place, theoretically right there for him to reach out to.

And if Door does ultimately think that surely any daughter of his can handle herself, there is one another innocent that has been involved in this all by Wake I could see him getting worked up over instead.

Golden Cage AU, more Elrond Illness Edition. Elrond's fever reaches its peak, forsight mixes itself up with dreams of the past, and Galadriel believes he is going to die. He isn't, he very explicitly gets through the fever and starts to get better, but It's Alot. Tbh, I'm not really sure where this came from and also, I made myself cry writing it.

"Galadriel?"

For a moment, her name on Elrond's lips gives her hope- but the next words from him, as he struggles to sit up in the tangle of sweat-soaked sheets are "Does the King look for me?"

She shakes her head. "No. No, Elrond- it's alright, you cam rest. Lie back-"

"The King looks for me!" Elrond insists, throwing the sheets to the side, trying to get up. Galadriel grabs his shoulders to keep him from standing; he clutches, with surprising strength, at her forearms. "The King looks for me!" He insists, hissing through clenched teeth and staring with feverish eyes that seem, suddenly, deeper and more vast than the night sky. "The King in the woods, and the King beneath the mountain- they look for me, for all of us and the nine kings that would have been are to be drowned in flame and burned in water and- he will know. Celebrimbor- Celebrimbor must not be with him when he learns of it- he is going to be so angry, Galadriel and I- I...." he blinks, shuddering, and the energy all seems to drain out of him. He sinks. Galadriel smooths the curls back from his forehead, and her heart leaps to her mouth at how warm he is. "I have to go," he mutters. "I -I have to go to Elros. But the High King's speeches are yet to be written, I don't- " he blinks rapidly, his eyes desperately scanning her face until finally a spark of recognition seems to return. "Galadriel." he says, reaching and clutching at her skirt. "I haven't finished the speeches. But I need- Elros is calling-"

The tears come, then. She has tried- she has fought so hard not to give into despair, but this...

She takes his hand in her own, and kisses the back of it. "If you wish to go to Elros, dear one, you must go to him," she whispers. "Do not worry about the speeches. The King will not be angry-he is- he-" her voice hitches, breaks. "He is very proud of you," she says. "He told me so, and wished to tell you himself, but if you must go to Elros, now, it can wait. Go. We will miss you, but you will go with all our love."

She watches, in complete and utter terror, as his expression eases, his eyes close, his body goes slack, and his breathing....

His breathing...

Eases. It eases, it eases- she calls, for Adar and Celeborn both, to tell her she is not imagining it-

"He is cooler," Celeborn says; Adar concurrs-

Every hour, Elrond improves- and every moment of it, Galadriel clings to his hand. She is no healer. But she pictures the light of the Eldar within herself, and she imagines it passing from her palm to his, a loan of her strength to carry him through...

As dusk approaches, there is a flurry of birds chirping. Elrond Peredhel wrinkles his nose and, without opening his eyes, grumbles with rasping irritation: "Why is my hair so wet?"

Galadriel does not stop laughing for a full five minutes.

Maybe it’s just how I played the game but I’ve noticed in Life is Strange 2 how similar Sean is to Karen. Both have a creative streak, both were uncertain of their future goals during adolescence and both seem drawn to idea of being free and untethered.

Scar and Grian are probably the most unreliable narrators in this series and that’s just so fascinating I think

If you watch any other perspective they look so evil, not just in 3L either!! Grian specifically is mildly terrifying whenever he’s on screen and while Scar is very cheerful, he makes it clear he only has loyalties when it’s entertaining (minus clockers and partially minus desertduo)

Obv they’re more complex than just this but they’re always talked about like these poor sad puppy dogs trying to survive a train wreck when half the time they’re the ones derailing the train in the first place

For anyone confused why the BH are mad at Ashton and feel betrayed it’s because he lied to all of them and almost died -actually did die twice. And because the group does love them, and had to watch them die and suffer for a whole minute*.

Also Laudna has a lot of trauma, from all the bullying, to the being invited to a nice dinner and being brutally murdered, all the abuse from the evil necromancer in her head -probably more the after 2. Having to deal with whatever horrors the past 30 year have brought her. The past few months being just a lot. Healing and recovery are not often linear, and regression happens -especially after being thrust into an intense situation in the place of one of your greatest traumas and the return of your worst abuser.

On short everyone’s really in their emotions because things weren’t properly communicated and then there was unexpected grave danger.

*Meta imo this is compounded watching a player make effectively death saved for ten rounds like I try not too read into things too much but imo it played at least a small role in nailing down the feeling of “why did you do that?! Wtf?! You’re ours! You can’t lie and then die! FFS!!!”
