Cowboy!Joel (41) X F!Reader (25) | 15.5k | wip | explicit | 18+ minors dni | enemies to lovers | slow burn | au: no cordyceps outbreak
After four years away at collage, youâre finally home with the tools and knowledge to save your family ranch. That is, if their ranch hand would stay out of your way.
Or: Ranch hand Joel doesnât know how to handle the return of his bosses prodigy daughter, her snarky little attitude, or her sinfully tight jeans.
a/n: this chapter gets me right in the feels every time. I love watching the way Joels character changes and his train of thought shifts. I hope you guys like this chapter because it was so fun for me to write đ„čâïž

Chapter 3: Blue
As it turns out, extreme levels of dopamine in his brain after a bone chilling orgasm is exactly what Joel needs to level himself out while youâre sitting beside him in the passenger seat. It doesnât make him stop thinking about it, but it does keep the tiny little gremlin in his head that tells him to pop a stiffy at bay. The only thing he has to worry about is his eyes, keeping them off of you and on the icy driveway as he pulls away from the house. The snow has started to melt, leaving behind a sloppy mud that makes the truck slip and slide. âI donât know if Iâll be able to get your car out, even if I can I donât think youâll be able to drive it in this.â
You make an exaggerated groan and he doesnât even need to look to know youâre rolling your eyes at him from your spot beside him on the bench seat. âYou just love deciding what I can and canât do, donât you? You know I lived here my whole life right?â He dares a glance over and youâre staring at him with your eyebrows knitted together and your arms crossed. His eyes tick down and he wants to kick himself in the head for even looking because your shirt is leaving nothing to his imagination and little to wonder about how good they would look bare with his dick betweenâjesus christ, Joel, get yourself together Man. âI wasnât doubting your ability, Iâm suggesting that it would be dangerous for you to even try.â
The truck hits the pavement and most of the snow has melted, but the freezing temperatures leave a icy film across the top. He had to go easy on the breaks and hope to god the truck makes it up the inclines he has to take to get to your car. The last thing he needs is to be stuck out here in the cold with just your bodies to keep each other warm. He absolutely one hundred and ten percent wont survive that, not without absolutely humiliating himself. God, he fucking hates how much you affect him against his will.
âSince when do you care about whatâs too dangerous for me, huh?â Why in the hell is he arguing with you like youâve been married for twenty years? âYou left me in the snow to freeze to death in my car four days ago, why am I going to listen to you about whats too dangerous for me?â You have a point, but so does he so he just shuts his fucking mouth and keeps on driving.
It takes twice as much time to get down the pass than it usually does, but the lower Joel gets, the more the ice melts into cold water and mud. By the time he gets to your car, the road is clear but the car is still sunk down to the rims in the embankment. Theres a uneasy sort of silence in the truck, something lingering around the cab of the old blue pickup that feels like shame and embarrassment.
âTexting, huh?â He breaks the silence with a crude joke that earns him a deep glare. âFuck you, asshole. You know, I really donât know what it is that my parents see in you. My mom always said how polite you were but I donât believe that for a second after knowing you for a few days.â You prop open the door and climb out into the snow with your car keys in one hand and the other holding your unzipped jacket closed. Your stupid fucking shoes and that tight assâfuck.
How is he supposed to be okay with the way you make his body react when you literally curse the ground he walks on, thinking heâs the worst thing that ever happened to this damn town? He gets out after you and slips on his gloves to keep the cold off his hands. The winter always leaves him cracked and brittle from cold work, sometimes his knuckles bleed and his bones ache for gentle hands instead of hard callouses and a cowboys scars. âYou donât know anything about me.â He reaches into the back for a chain while you open the door to your car. âI know enough. I know youâre bullheaded and selfish. I know youâre rude and you donât care about anyone but yourself.â
Fucking bitch, like heâs not allowed to have some self preservation after the life heâs lived, always cleaning up Tommy's mess and abandoning his own life in the process. âDonât act like youâre any better.â You lean out of your car and make a face at him while he hooks the chain to the front of the truck. âMe? You donât know a damn thing about me.â Like you didnât just spout off about all the things you think is wrong with himâhe can do that too. He has a fucking list of reasons you piss him off. âI know that youâre entitled and expect people to be at your beck and call. I know youâre privileged with no regard for anyone around you.â
He follows the chain to your car and hooks it to the chassis underneath. âWell were just a match made in fucking heaven then, arenât we?â Its dripping with distain and bitterness, so Joel ignores the comment no matter how much his brain runs and runs about all the way he could be made for you, the wayâs heâd fuck that attitude right out of you until youâre quiet. But he canât and he wonât, heâll probably spend the rest of his life wondering what youâd feel like, the way youâd shake and scream and beg for moreâbut wondering is far as that fantasy will ever go.
Because at the end of the day, youâre still Hank's daughter and youâre still half his age andâyou hate his guts, which is definitely a deal breaker when it comes to getting someone in your bed. So he keeps his mouth shut and heads back to his truck to tug your car out. âWhen youâre out, hit your brakes so you don't slam into me.â You sink down into your seat and glare at him. âIâm not stupid!â He never said you were, but he doesnât expect you to know everything, so he does his best to be the helpful asshole he usually is.
He pulls the little car out, manages to keep the chain tight until it's back on the road and the brake lights come on in front of him. He puts the truck in park and hops out to unhook the chain, but you donât open the door. When the car is unhooked, youâre already pulling away without a word of thanks. Joel knows heâs well past earning the way you treat him, but that doesnât make him stop wishing he could just get you out of his head already, wish he could hate you with that same mind altering disgust that you have for him, maybe watching you drive away would be easier.
Two months pass much like the first week. Joel keeps to himself, you frown at him and avoid him where you can. When you do see one another, Joel feels like youâre always at each other's throats. Everyone in the house has started to notice the distaste in your strained relationship, if Joel is willing to let himself call it that. Itâs more like a forced acquaintance. Either way, your parents even see the way the two of you bicker and fight, but rarely does anyone but Tommy make comments about it. Tommy likes to bring it up any chance he gets, usually when Joel is alone just to rile him up further. He says stupid shit, like âI bet the sex you guys would have would be crazy goodâ when itâs just him and his brother at the dinner table and it makes Joel stiffen and run off to the cabin without his plate or a goodbye.
He sneaks in later for his plate and catches you in the kitchen with red eyes and tear stained cheeks, but you cross your arms over your chest and try not to meet his eyes. Youâre dressed in just a big tee shirt and he can see from your bare feet to the tops of your thighs. Heâs the luckiest son of s bitch in the world that he just worked himself over twice because he would be tenting his sweatpants right there in the kitchen.
That was three days ago and he still canât get the sight of tears in your eyes out of his mind. He wonders if he did that, if heâd said something that struck a nerve and there you sat at the kitchen table after everyone was tucked in bed, crying your pretty eyes out. He feels like the worst fucking person in the world because of it, so he stays away even more, makes himself sad little ramen noodle dinners in his sad little hunting cabin he shares with his brother and he stares at his ceiling wishing it was you he was looking up atâsmiling instead of frowning for onceâall he wants is to see you smile. Really smile, for him, at him. He wonders what your eyes look up when they light up, wonders what your skin feels like when its not shaking in rage.
But between all the avoiding and hiding, Joel didnât even realize how quickly Christmas had snuck up on him. He checks his phone sometime after lunch, his day spent getting the herd ready for another brutal snow storm. Heâd been to town that morning for hot feed to keep them warm and any supplies they might run out of while snowed in, while deep, dark clouds hung in the distance. He was leaving the feed store when the clerk waved at him with a polite âMerry Christmas!â When he made it into the truck, he pulled out his phone and realized the date, December 24th. It was Christmas eve and it was an absolute miracle that stores were open right now. It was only eleven thirty and the sign posted on the door says it closes at two.
He starts to put the truck in reverse, turning around to look behind him while he pulls out. When he does, something inside of him doesnât let his foot off the brakes. He thinks about youâin Christmas pajamas on the floor opening dumb little gifts from your parents because it's the first Christmas theyâve had with you for years. He imagines what theyâd get you, probably things a grown adult needsâproducts, socks, underwear, (donât even go there Joel) and he thinks about how disheartening that must be to a woman like you, used to proper city living now, expensive gifts and pretty things. You deserve pretty things, Joel wants to give them to you.
He turns around, throws the truck in park and jumps out, heading back into the feed store. He makes a bee-line for the glass jewelry case sitting in the corner, partially scavenged through since it is the day before christmas and allâhe should have thought about this weeks ago. He scans through everything, shiny horse shoe earrings, matching pendants, jeweled cowgirl boots on a chain and turquoise ring sets. None of them look good enough, none of them scream you, sweet youâfuck, heâs seen it, when youâre so damn sweet, when you think no one is lookingâJoel is, always looking.
He kneels down, scanning the bottom shelf of the case when he spots a simple golden chain and a bumble bee dangling delicately from its tiny hoops. It doesnât have any stones on it and Joel thinks he likes that more, that itâs simple and graceful, not too flashy or obviously shoutings âlook at what you do to me, look at how much I wish I could have you.â
In the end, he has just enough bills in his wallet for the necklace, tells the clerk he doesnât need a bag as he stuffs the box in his pocket and heads back to the truck.
He has a busy day when he gets back to ranch, Tommy is checking on the pregnant heifers while Joel fillâs multiple feeders with hot grains that will keep them warm through the impending storm. He has just enough time before it starts to snow to get the horse fed and the equipment properly covered in tarps. This storm is set to drop more snow than they have seen all winter and Joel doesnât look forward to the animosity that comes with never being able to get out of each other's hair. âHowâs the heifers?â He asks Tommy when he brushes grain off his hands. âThey all seem pretty far out besides one, she was really soft, sort of worried me.â Heifers get soft around the tail when they are close to caving, but Joel doesnât think sheâll be willing to have her calf in this storm, so he lets it go. Instead, he takes a spot beside Tommy at the stable door.
âSnowâs cominâ down thick now,â Tommy says from the protective covering of the stable, staring out across the yard at the powder covered ground. Snow blows through the big sliding door, filling the building with cold gusts. âWe should get inside before it gets worse.â
Joel wants toâwhen he looks off at the two story house, the christmas tree shining through the window, he spots you on the other side of it, fixing and ornament hanging from the nettles. The stable is a stone's throw from the house, Joel can see every feature, the color of your eyes, your sweet, sweet smileâbecause heâs nowhere to be seen.
Heâs so busy staring, he doesnât catch it in time when your eyes meet his across the yard. That sweet smile falls, those soft eyes harden and he feels his gut lurch. âYou go ahead, Tommy. Think Iâm going to hit the hay.â Tommy knows this bit just about as well as Joel does, knows heâs been avoiding the house, your parents, you because nine times out of ten, itâs just Tommy at dinner these days. Joel spends his night with microwaved meals and old episodes of The Rifleman to keep him busy until he finally gives in and slips his hands in his pants.
Tommy doesnât put up a fuss, instead, he claps Joel on the shoulder and gives him this sad sort of smile before heading off towards the house. Joel turns in the other direction, follows the fence line for a half mile until he reaches the cabin. His feet are cold, his lips feel cracked after a long day outside in the harsh weather. He microwaves a sad little dinner, pretends the mac and cheese on the side is half as good as warm food at the table when the people he looks at like family. Heâs simply not welcome there anymore.
He gets through two episodes before he promptly passes out, his pants left intact tonight because itâs not his dick leading the way tonight, its that look in your eyes when you saw him across the driveway. The pang he felt in his chest when you frowned and turned away like it hurt you to look at him.
He sleeps through the night, propped up like that on the couch and when he wakes on Christmas morning, his neck has a crick in it and his back is killing him. He barely drags himself off the couch and into the shower before his day has to start. The hot water eases out some of his muscles, but it still hurts like a bitch to stand up straight or turn his head.
But the cattle arenât going to let him take a day off, the horses won't care for themselves, so he gets to it only a few minutes late. When he heads out the door, the ground is covered in two feet of pure white snow and dark clouds still hang overhead.
His Christmas is spent in the fieldâs and the stables and the box in his pocket burns a hole through his thigh the entire morning, until heâs shoveling off the driveway and the front door comes open. Louise makes her way onto the porch with a plate in her hands, shuffling down the slippery steps when she gets Joelâs attention. He tosses down the shovel and hurries over when she starts to wobble on the second step and nearly slips. He catches her arm and helps her steady before letting out a cold gust of air that fogs through the chill around him. âMiss Lou, what are you doinâ out here? Itâs freezing.â She has a light coat on and her cheeks are red from the cold.
âYouâre the one out here in the cold, Joel. Itâs Christmas and youâre the only one working. Have you had a decent meal this week? I havenât seen you at dinner inâŠwell, I donât know how long.â Sheâs the one reason Joel feels guilty for avoiding the house, in the years heâs lived here, she's always enjoyed cooking for them, sheâd always tell him he couldnât keep her dream alive if he was malnourished. He feels like that now, running on half the calories a man his size should be taking in and his mind is in a constant state of despair these days.
âJust needed some space is all, Maâam, nothinâ you did.â He assures her, taking the plate carefully and helping her back up the steps. âI know it's not just that. My daughter can be really difficult sometimesâŠI know you two bicker. Itâs a shame, reallyâI thought the two of you would hit it off.â That's the whole problem and what a shame it is that Joel canât look at this womanâs daughter without thinking about all the ways he could have her, make her his. âWould you come inside? Hank and I got you something, he thought you would be in this morning but you never came. I'm sorry if your food is cold.â
He didnât care if it was cold, his stomach hurt because he was so hungry, he'd eat it if it was frozen. He doesnât have the heart to tell her no, so he heads inside the house with snow covered boots and a nervousness he hasnât felt here since the first day he stood in this living room. For so long it's felt like his home tooâbut now he can't help but feel like an intruder.
When he closes the door behind him, Hank and Tommy are watching the game, but youâre nowhere in sight. He tries to shake off his nerves, moves to the couch beside Tommy and sits down. At his brother's feet is a brand new pair of deer skin gloves, Tommyâs favoriteâbut hard to come by. He knows they werenât cheap and his heart aches a little, knowing theyâd worked hard to pull together the money.
âGlad to see you can pull yourself away for a few minutes. You know it ainât goinâ anywhere, stay for a little while.â He knows thatâthe storm will be with them for four days and he knows there will be more snow to shovel tomorrow, but he canât stay for long, not when your prying eyes finally detect him in your safe haven. âIâll stay for a little while, still a lot to do out there.â He knows Hank is too old for that kind of work, Tommyâs too lazy and Joel wants nothing more than to escape. âGot you somethinâ, been saving up for it for a while now.â He leans down towards the tree and picks up a rather large boxâitâs not gloves thats for damn sure. âSir, IâŠI didnât get you nothinâ.â He didnât have the money, he spent every dollar he had to his name on a stupid necklace for his daughter that would rather see him outside in the freezing weather shoveling snow than on her couch in front of the fireplace.
Hank throws a hand, playing off Joel's concern with an amused huff. âYou do so much for us around here without asking for anything in return. You had one when you got here but i know it got tore up taking the cattle to pasture.â
Joel rips the wrapping paper, revealing a simple white box with the word Stetson on the top. Joel doesnât even want to open the damn thing, he knows what's inside and how much it cost, an arm and a leg, probably a month's saving in the off season. âHankâŠâ
The olde man shakes his head firmly. âYou deserve to have the sun off your neck, son. Just say thank you, make sure it fits.â
He pulls open the box and inside lays a black felt hat with a matching band, beautiful leather work that loops into an ornate metal buckle to hold it in place. He pulls the cowboy hat from its box, puts it on his head andâitâs a perfect fit.
It's been a long time since he had a hat, a lot longer since he had a nice one and a lifetime ago since he had the money for a new one, especially one this nice. âI donât know what to sayâthank you, HankâŠthis reallyâŠmeans more than you know.â More than he knows how to convey with words. Itâs been a long time since Joel had a hat that fit, one that wasnât second hand or made for someone elseâs head. But thisâthis was made for his head, the measurement must be damn near perfect. âHowâd you know my size?â He wobbles his head around and the hat doesnât budge, hangs on snuggly. Heâll even be able to ride with this on. âI measured your head while you were sleepinâ.â Tommy tells him with a smug grin. âThat's weird, Tommy. I would have kept that to myself.â
It draws a laugh out of Hank who has abandoned the game in favor of watching Joel's excitement. âWell, what are you waiting forâgo check yourself out in the mirror, make sure you like it,â he stands and walks over to the mirror hanging on the wall above a decorative entryway shelf. When he spots himself in the reflection, he realizes just how long itâs been since heâs seen the man looking back at him. Heâs graying in his beard a little, the age lines on his face have gotten deeper and more pronounced, but the black hat on his head makes that same man grin from ear to ear.
The stairs creek behind him and he turns half of his body to look up them. Stopped halfway down the stairs, youâre staring at him with a slightly slacked jaw. Joel knew it, Christmas jammies that leave your legs exposed to his greedy eyes. This time, he tries to keep them to himself. âOh, uhâŠâ he swallows down the lump in his throat and his pocket burns all over again. Should he give it to you now? Will everyone question him if he does? If he waits to get you alone, does that suggest that the necklace means everything he wants it to? A peace offering, an ice breaker, a âIâm sorry about the way Iâve treated you, but I want to try again.â
Instead, he leaves it in his pocket and tries to tamper down the way his cheeks heat. âMerry Christmas, Honey.â He tilts his hat up a tad so he can look up at you, but your slightly dumbfounded look morphs into irritation and discontent.
âWhat are you doing here?â You cross your arms and Joelâs good mood disappears. âYour mom asked me to come in and eat. Your dad wanted to give me this.â He points to the hat and your eyes roll as you make the descent down the rest of the stairs. âSo if youâre in here, whoâs taking care of the ranch?â
It isnât often that someone sticks up for one of them in an argument, they tend to not get between the two of you, but to Joelâs surprise, Hank interrupts his daughter. âHeâs allowed to come in the house, Honeyâhe works hard around here, heâs not a yard dog.â But that doesnât stop you from sneering at him when you pass him on your way to the kitchen where your mother is. âSure looks like one to me.â Itâs under your breath so Hank doesnât hear, but Joel does.
And he feels like a fool. A fool for spending the last of his money on this stupid fucking necklace, like a fool for being so plagued by thoughts of you in a different world, one where you donât innately hate him, one where he doesnât fuck up every chance he has to change the narrative.
âI should get back to it, Iâll see you guysâŠlater.â He starts to head for the door when Louise pokes her head around the corner. âPlease come in for Dinner!â Joel tells her that he will, he hates lying to miss Lou, but he does it because itâs Christmas and the last thing he wants to do is worry her today.
He wastes the day shoveling off the driveway, tries his best to rub out the crick in his neck and finally calls it a day when the sun is nearly set and the animals are bunkered down for the night. Itâs started to snow again, so Joel makes his way back to the cabin with tired limbs and a new dusting of snow hanging onto the brim of his hat.
Dinner is just as lonely as the night before but this time he doesnât pretend it's Louâs cooking, he lets it be exactly what it isâa tasteless mush and his misery to sip on.
The Rifleman is just as predictable as it was the night before, as is Joelâwho falls asleep before he has the heart to get his hands on his dick. But unlike last night, he doesnât make it long propped up on the couch before a knock startles him awake. He drags himself to the door with sleep in his eyes and a chill in his bones. When he pulls it open, his pocket ignites again. On the other side of the door, youâre standing in front of him with a plate in your hands and a vicious storm letting down behind you. Did you walk here in that? âMy mom said I chased you off, thatâs why you didnât come to dinner.â Well, you arenât wrong. If you were still away at college, Joel would have no problem spending Christmas with Hank and Louise and Tommy who is apparently too good to walk you down here.
âYou didnât have to bring me anything.â He says. He glances to the side where his hat hangs on the rack. âActually, my mom made me so no, I didnât have a choice.â Ahh, of courseâof course you wouldnât do something that nice for him. âWell, thank her for me, thenâŠâ he reaches out for the plate and his fingers brush yoursâbolts of electricity shooting up his arm and igniting his starved skin. Itâs been so damn long since someone has touched him with kind hands and all he wants is yoursâyour soft, gentle hands heâs seen folding laundry and soothing horses. You donât release the plate, but your eyes track up to his, meeting them across the threshold.
He could hold that gaze for the rest of his life if youâd let himâheâs always wanted a chance to get lost in your eyes and heâs getting it right now, his home pouring with cold in exchange for the heat in your cheeks and the sparkle in your irises. âJoelââ
There's a loud sound somewhere over the fence beside the cabin. It draws both of your attention to the blinding darkness. Joel knows that sound, a distressed heifer, probably the one who was too damn close to calving in a storm like this. Thereâs no way Joel can save that calf if it doesnât make it and even if he wanted to, the snow is too thick to help.
âWhat is that?â You ask, finally dropping your hand away from his when you glance back up at him. âHeifer, think sheâs calvingâTommy said she was really soft and her milk came in. Afraid that calf might not make it tonight.â
There's a look of disbelief in your eyes, shooting from Joel to the fence line and back. âYou canât help her?â Joel shakes his head and listens to the cow cry out again. âNothinâ I can do for her. They arenât supposed to be calving yet, we still have a few more weeks and itâs too cold out there. We might lose the heifer too.â
Joel observes the way sadness takes over your face, then determination. âIâm going out there to help her.â You tell him, already heading off the porch before Joel can even interject. âDonât you hear me? Sheâs not going to make it, honey, just let it go.â But you donât, you start to jog towards the fence line, so Joel huffs in annoyance and slips into his boots and jacket, finally pulling his hat on on his way out the door. He grabs a spotlight off the shelf by the door and follows your tracks through the snow to the fence line. It doesnât take him long until he finds you, knelt behind a laboring cow, whoâs already pushing in the freezing cold. âI canât get this calf to safety and this storm is getting worseâitâs not safe to be out here.â
There's blood marring the white snow and your delicate hands. âIâm not letting her die in the snow on christmas because we made her have a baby, Joelâshe didnât ask for this.â Joel sets the light in the snow beside him and rolls his sleeves up, kneeling down beside you in the soaked snow. âSheâs not going to make it.â
You make a face at him, one Joel is more than accustomed to. âIâm not letting her die alone, then.â And Joel isnât going to leave you alone in the snow for a second time, so he stays there beside you, helping deliver the little black calf, who shivers wetly in the cold. Itâs a little boy, floppy ears and a wobble to him when he tries to hold his head up. Joel can't help but smile, because this is always beautiful, even if he can't save this little calf. He looks up and youâre grinning right back at him, your cheeks bitten red by the cold and your hands shaking, but you look so fucking proud right now. Joel is too, after watching you pull that calf out of his momma like you were made for that.
âWhat if we get them inside, would they make it then?â Joel doesnât see how, the snow is too thick and someone would have to carry him. âThey wont fit in my cabin and the stable is a half a mile away. Weâd have to drag momma through this snow.â He has a lead in the cabin, he could get her out of this snow, he thinks. Would she even want to go, after having a calf in the ridged cold. âWe should tryâwe should at least try.â
Joel leans back and brushes the blood off on his pants. âYeahâfine, we can try. Stay right here, keep rubbing him to keep him warm.â He stands and jogs back to the cabin, racing inside for the lead that he runs back to you with. You have the calf laid out along your legs while you rub his wet skin. âHeâs slowing down. I can feel his heart slowing down.â Heâs getting too cold out hereâif Joel doesnât act now, he won't make it, so he wraps the halter around the heifers head and hands you the lead. âThink you can pull her? Sheâs going to put up a fight.â You take the lead from him and nod, grabbing the light out of the snow while he picks the calf up under his belly. He makes a little sound at Joel while he starts to make his way through the deep snow.
Itâs a long walk back to the stables, but you tug on that heifer and Joel carries the calf the entire way there, until he reaches the gate and manages to push it open just enough to get them through. He makes it to the stable doors in just enough time, throws it open and helps you inside. Itâs not much warmer in here, but theres no snow and theres straw in the empty stable towards the back, so Joel makes his way over and lays the little calf down in the bedding. Youâre right behind him with the heifer who takes straight to her baby once she has him in her sight again.
Joel plops down in the straw in the corner of the room once they are both situated, trying to catch his breath and warm himself up at the same time. Heâs covered in blood, so are you, but you saved both of their lives and Joel has more respect for that than he knows what to do with. You risked your life out there for a baby cow and his momma.
âYou did a good thing, out there. Iâm sorry I didnât want to listen to you.â You find a spot beside him in the hay and sink down, leaned against the wood wall with your shoulder pressed against his with how closely you sit. âYou have every right to question meâŠyouâre right, you knowâŠI have no clue what Iâm doing around here. Four years of school and the only thing I know how to do around here is the books, which is easy because were so broke.â Joel's heart aches for you, the sadness in your tone and the defeated look in your eyes. âI almost got us killed out there.â
Joel shakes his head and leans himself back against the wall too. âBut you didnât. You saved us a lot of money and saved his little life. Iâd say that's a win.â He knows it doesnât feel like one when everything else is coming down on your shoulders, but he can pretend it is for your sake. âThanks, Joel.â You lean a little more, bumping his shoulder with a quiet yawn.
His pocket begins to burn again, but this time, it isnât followed by the shame heâs felt all day. âI uhmâŠI hope itâs not weird, but I got you somethingâŠâ he reaches into his pocket and starts to fish it out. âYou didnât have to do that,â you interject but he shakes his head. âI just saw it while I was at the feed store, thought of you.â He pulls out the blue box and holds it out to you. He tries not to read too much into the look on your face when you open the box, but he has to know. It looks like confusion, then shock and finally, sadness. âI was really rude to you this morninââŠand you had this in your pocket to give it to me?â You look over at him with big eyes, full of something Joel has never seen in them. âItâs alrightâI deserved that.â
You shake your head and start to pull the necklace out of the box. âI called you a dog, Joelâyou didnât deserve that.â
He shrugs his shoulders, trying to rid both of you of the shame of that conversation. You hold the necklace up and admire it for a while, the little gold bee thatâs going to lay against your chest, against your heart. You hold it out to him with a little quick of your lips. âWould you?â He takes it from you and you turn your back to him, using one hand to hold up your hair while he undoes the clasp and brings his hands around your neck, laying it around your delicate throat. It feels so intimate, sitting here in the hay beside a newborn baby calf in the middle of a snowstorm on christmas.
His knuckles brush against your neck gently when he does the clasp together, letting is hang from your neck, feels like a fucking brand on his skin. You turn back around, meet his eyes and smile carefully. There's a comfortable silence filling up the space between you, so Joel leans back against the wood and sighs to himself. âLet me walk you back to the houseâŠitâs getting late.â His words are low and slow.
You nod at him and he stands, holding out a hand to pull you to your feet. He walks you out of the stables, through the blizzard and up to the porch of the big white house. âWhere are you going?â You ask him when you get to the door. âDonât know if I can make it back to the cabin in this. Might sleep out in the stable so I can keep an eye on the little guy.â
You donât say anything, just stare at him for a long moment, then glance behind you at the warm house. âCome insideâŠTommy took the guest bedroom but you can have the couch. Itâs better than being out here in the cold.â
He wants to decline, but when will he get this opportunity again? To mend what's been broken between you? âYeahâsure, that sounds better than straw poking me in the ass all night long.â
It makes you giggle and that makes Joel's stomach churn, his cheeks heat and his hands flex as he follows you inside. You get him a blanket, help him get situated in the low glow of the christmas tree in the corner.
When he kicks his boots off and settles down on the couch, you start to head for the stairs. He thinks youâre going to head up, but you pause at the bottom of the stairs before turning to look at him. âThank you for helping me today.â
He hums, smiles and shakes his head. âIt was my pleasure.â
There's another long silence, then you take the first step up the stairs. âGoodnight, JoelâŠMerry Christmas.â
He smiles back at you with tired eyes.
âMerry Christmas, Honey.â

part 3 of me going through the new book 7 update
part 1 (short where i ended after running out of mystium)
part 2 (after i got more mystium, now im doing rest of the story as im FREE of the battlemap)
heres your reminder that in the wish upon a star event lilia has a wish for humans and fae to be able to co-exist
...
FUCK YOU FUCK YOU okay im sorry i cant hold myself back i HATE these guys with a passion and you guys will too its just an instinctive reaction at this point
YOU SHUT UP ALL YOU CAN DO IS BLABBER BUT YOU CANT DO SHIT! TELL ME IF YOU WERE THERE ON THE BATTLEFIELD WOULD YOU HAVE DONE ANYTHING OR WOULD YOU HAVE BEEN JUST A BURDEN THAT DRAGGED EVERYBODY DOWN? YOU PRAISE MALEANOR FOR STANDING HER GROUND AGAINST HUMANS AND CALL IT NOBLE BUT SHE FUCKING DIED

now act like it and shut up dude
NOOO MALLEUS
egg-sama dont go :(((
LILIA PLEASE
genuinely i have to wonder how lilia survived after this, before malleus was born, having all this guilt and self-hatred for failing :(
ruining the mood here but oh my GOD I hate the blind debuff YOU FHEWUISHFSUIHFUH DUDE
D:
in the 10 years since maleanor died its been changed from briarland to briar valley.
malleus lasting so long because lilia tells him to. also his egg is glowing and idk if thats like some morse code idk what its saying
yippee places of other events appearing. now we just need event characters to appear
AHHHH joSAIHDJOAJDIj. hes singing the song hfsuidfh. it sounds different, probably because hes not used to singing it. but then when he sings it to silver it sounds.. smoother??
that he got his signature spell because he wanted for any scrap of information on how to hatch a dragon egg, that he'll take anything
..EIGHTY YEARS???? sorry im not sending as many screenshots because im trying not to cap it
HARVESTONNN
i need a fic where lilia joins them on like the trip to harveston and maybe he gets like vaguely recognized, maybe like cause it was spoken of that they found this fae or like they had an image or something and its fluff times.
well its been 270-ish years since then but come on :(
wait could this be lilia?
eggsama WHAT ARE YOU SAYING. YOU KEEP GLOWING. and its not skippable (what i do is tap to see all the dialogue and then tap past it cause i read fast instead of waiting)
MALLEUS!?!?!?
notice the emblem lilia usually has is gone because he stopped being a general (actually i cant show a before and after but if you scroll up theres an image of him with the emblem on his chest)
"My magic, my remaining lifespan..."
lilia, is that why youre going to die early? is that what you described when you said you were like. adventurous or something like that (i forgot what he said exactly) in your youth?
im going to cry again this is unfair
they dont deserve my words.
..SHUT THE FUCK UP- okay CALM im CALM.
AHHHHH IM NOT CALM
sorry breaking the mood but 'you truly are poor sleepers' sounds funny to me and i cant explain why. its like. malleus simplifying it so much that it sounds dumb
youd know wouldnt you sebek? because your existence literally means you are loved đ„ș
đ
lilia...
WHY ARE WE FIGHTING HIM AGAIN MALLEUS PLEASEE can we just skip over this battle we already know we wont win đđđ

WHAT DO YOU MEAN. IM SORRY????? STOP GIVING ME THE RETRY TICKET WHAT
giving myself the most hp i can to try to endure cause holy fuck what do you mean RETRY TICket?
okay. i did it. i got so confused because i made it to turn 5 and on the very last attack died and it hit me wtih a retry ticket but you just had to win by enduring his attacks for 5 turns, no dying
good thing i got a lot of healing units with a shit ton of hp but holy fuck i was boutta throw hands like what do you MEAN win against a 300k enemy who can heal all of his health back
aight we're dipping out of lilia's dream now WOo that was long

What would happen if eyeless jacks s/o was being targeted by the cult that killed him? (Or remaining members from the cult) like somehow the stars aligned and they somehow found him and his s/o, and chose to target them since yk...going after a human would be a lot easier then going after him
Hunted (Eyeless Jack x reader being tracked by the cult hcs)
you. anon. points. shakes you (/pos) im loving the ej requests and honestly this one!! already love it and im hoping i can do the idea justice!! dont get me wrong i love the basic romance prompts but the drama and action that can come from prompts like this??? WOOOOOOO
no because imagine some of the remaining members track him down as you proposed. regardless of if they find him through sightings or tracking down his "feeding grounds", they find where he lives. and in turn also find his.. partner
ive got multiple ideas for this so bare with me
idea one: imagine they find you and him together and manage to overpower you both... i think at this point they would view jack as a lost cause and... try to put him down for lack of better wording. they already failed with him with the sacrifice and trying to get that demon they worship to take over his body... though did the ritual even fail? i mean something definitely happened, but... shrugs. too many things to dive into for this prompt but!! but imagine if they decide to use you as a new sacrifice
even worse what if they cant actually kill jack, be it because he cant be killed in any normal means or they dont have the means to do him in.. and hes made to watch. imagine what would be going through his mind. regardless of if you are a successful sacrifice, or youre botched like jack, or you simply die...
on the chance its successful, would it even be fair to say that its still you in there? i mean your body is literally being used as a skin puppet for... something else... gone and disgraced. but if you end up like jack, i think it would be worse. at least with the other option he can say you passed away or that there is hope to get you back.. but you being like him just makes his skin crawl. it feels more final, more personal. he would never wish what had happened to him onto you.. and yet, here you are. i think death, as much as it would hurt and destroy him, would at least give him some finality that you wont have to suffer. many feelings here you know. and again, this is assuming hes forced to watch everything to go down
Idea two: hes captured and you go looking for him... i think, since the cult doesnt know youre around they try to do the ritual right on jack... if it can even be redone.. probably leads to you trying to rush in and get jack out of there; ultimately ending in you either being used as the sacrifice or being offed before the option can even be considered
Idea three: you're taken while waiting for jack at his home. youre ambushed while your partner is away and taken. there will definitely be signs of a struggle and break in, but jack probably wouldnt have many leads of where you went. cursing him to live the rest of his life trying to search for you and figure out what happened to you. on the chance that you survived and returned to him, theres going to be so many questions... and so many more if the ritual was botched..
theres just so many ways to go about this but none of the outcomes and routes sound desirable as they all end in death and tragedy. either someones getting possessed, cursed, or killed... not very good...
but as i reread your request, i come up with another idea. what if they scope you out, by yourself. like how they originally would have done to jack to get him to drop your guard... imagine youre none the wiser, in fact you even talk about your new 'friends' to jack; and he, stupidly, decides to let you have your privacy. can you imagine the guilt that would hit him when the cycle repeats itself and you become a victim? i think he wouldnt know at first, just that youve stop coming to him for a while... i mean he doesnt exactly have many ties to the world outside of his little bubble at home, how could he ever find out?

I know we all got our own issues with the finale of Murder Drones but while watching the big Anniversary video thats going on I realize I have a lot of ideas on how it should have ended-or at least how I might have done it. Under the cut is just some ideas, I am not a professional writer but I do write fanfiction from time to time and hey maybe I'll write some of these out. Also I am not claiming I am better than Liam or anyone at Glitch, just some thoughts.
-Thad, Lizzy and Khan should of had their own fight with J. In episode 7 the trio is set up like they're gonna get an epic side battle. Now worker drones of course were workers so I doubt Lizzy and Thad would be weak, sure weak against a murder drone but they have Uzi's gun that Khan rebuilt. I think they could have put up a easily decent fight against J, Lizzy and Thad as acting support while Khan (who is secretly a badass) takes her down a few notches just before the world goes to shit and they end up pulled down by gravity. It would be so cute to sorta see Lizzy also use her mean girl trait to verbally be mean to J just a little bit! Probably a fun quip about pigtails being out of style. Maybe also use a hand mirror to direct a off course shot from the railgun, no that wouldn't actually work shut up it's fun. -Khan should of been the one to give Uzi her gun. The whole series Khan is the absent father who doesn't pay attention but when he finally has to in episode 2 onward he's more attentive with like telling her about the collars and the camp. Then in episode 7 he just seems very much prepared for what's going on-he needed more scenes to show he's trying to be a better dad and maybe even get back to what he used to be before Nori died. A sweet moment between him and Uzi, her realizing he rebuilt her totally sick railgun as a way to see that he accepts her for who she is would have very much tied up their relationship issue in a big pretty bow. -Nori should have absolutely apart of the final fight. She is so under utilized despite having fought her Solver daughter before, she doesn't even need a big part just a moment. On that topic I would have also liked a quick shot of the Railgun from Thad or Lizzy, it has too much of a one time use and someone could have easily picked it up the second it was thrown out of the way. I love to see characters all come together and have their parts. -Cyn was defeated too easily and I would have liked a final show off between just her and Uzi maybe in the caverns bellow after Cyn possibly broke the ground and sent them both tumbling down. A real big 'I'm not fucking around anymore' from Cyn as Uzi overcomes her for a final time. I don't hate how she's now the host and containing the solver but I very much would have liked a explanation on how it all works. -J honestly either should of had more focus on that 'No escape even in death' bit or had a redemption. Not all characters need to survive or even become good, sometimes they can't get out of their ways. But that above line tells me all about why J refuses to cut herself off from Cyn. She's scared. Scared of being stuck in a tormenting loop. At least if she's working for her she wont be in constant emotional and physical pain for every iteration that Cyn decides to clone. She needed an emotional scene, a proper outburst, of why she's so scared. Honestly J just needed more scenes in general. Especially with Tessa and maybe even the scene where Cyn uses Tessa as a skin suit. Super dark but hooo boy I'd be terrified if I saw a friend suddenly get turned into a suit like how the hell do you even fight back against that??? Anyway that's just my thoughts. May or may not write a one shot, I'd re-write the whole show if I had the confidence but I'm more suited to short stories.

HIYA so i havent been promoting new fics here bc.. i forgor.. but i rlly like this one
exploring nejis mental illness through fic /hj (nejilee exes that later date while shikalee married, polyam moment... but that wont happen until maany chapters go on XD)
Hope you enjoy (if u do id love to read your thoughts on this... ty....)
He was on the battlefield, protecting his cousin from a certain deathâ fulfilling his role as a Side branch member at last, following his destiny that no matter how hard he tried to fight, Neji knew well it was just bound to happen one day.
He had received the attack for her, no matter what his fate would be. All the boy knew is that it would still be way better than what the Main branch would do to him, had they known that he didnât die for one of the heiressesâŠ
Neji fell to the ground, body going numb in mere seconds. He could see blood escaping from where the wooden stakes had hit him, and from his mouthâ he was dying, and there was nothing to do to avoid it.
âNEJI!â a familiar voice screamed, and he was held in someone's armsâ Lee was crying while holding him, lips shaking as he spoke.
But Neji couldnât hear whatever it was that his boyfriend said, for his ears were ringing too loudly to even let him think; all he knew was that he would die soon, see his father once more after so many yearsâŠ
And he closed his eyes, awaiting for the sweet peace of death, knowing he could do nothing to avoid his fate. Even if he survived somehow, his Clan wouldnât allow him to live freely, forcing him to marry a woman he didnât even know just for appearanceâs sake.
Not being able to be with Lee⊠it was better just to die in his arms, to wait for him on the other side.
His eyes soon saw a bright light, and Neji knew it was time to go. Though his head hurt afterwards, and his eyes seemed to open on their own, as if waking up from a long, long nap. He felt exhausted as hell. The brunet just wanted to go back to sleep once more, so comfortable on his bed that he didn't want to wake up at all; He was tired. Why couldn't he just go and rest for a bit longer? Although his body probably wouldn't allow it, knowing himself. His back hurt a lot.
Much less when the boy could feel two people around him, judging by how little his senses could tell himâ a familiar chakra accompanied by someone unknown, though neither of them had any kind of malicious intent.
âPapa, I think he's awake,â he heard one of them say, and only then did the brunet open an eye again, enough to see but to not be affected by the light. âUmâ good morning, Neji.â
Another voice chuckled at this, and it wasnât someone he didnât know; rather, it was different⊠Deeper, somehow. Changed.
âMetal, he has been asleep for a decade, I do not think he willââ
And then he saw itâ the same face he had fallen in love with, albeit more tired, older⊠shocked to be able to look at his eyes, as if it was an oddity of sorts.
Lee immediately went towards him, a clear confusion in his face as he analyzed the situation, unable to believe it at all. Neji tried to speak but only a weak cough was able to escape from his lips, and no matter how hard he tried he wasn't able to even lift an arm. His body was too tired, deteriorated for some reason he couldn't understand.
Though, if what Lee had said was true⊠that would mean he had been in a coma for a long, long time. No wonder his muscles had gotten atrophied due to not being used at all for years.
Of course. Ten years had passed, and he hadn't moved a single millimeter of his body.
âNeji?! You areâ you woke up! It has been so long!â his boyfriend said, and Neji could tell he was trying to hold back tears; careful as always, Lee attempted to hold his hands, still not comprehending what was going on but joyful nonetheless. âOh, Neji, we thought you would neverâ but you woke up!â
âButâ but I told you he would do it!â Metal chimed in with a pout, crossing his arms against his chest.
Now that the brunet could get a better view of his companions, he realized Lee had a beautiful ring on one of his fingers, and that the small boy was⊠pretty much a copy of him, albeit with some changes. Neji felt his head hurting due to the mix of confusion and shock, and not being able to say anything only agitated him more.
Of course. Life had gone on, an entire decade had passed, and Lee continued with his life. Anyone would have in his place, yet⊠Neji felt a pang in his heart.
âL⊠love,â he managed to mumble after long, long seconds, and Lee just⊠let go of his hands, denying with his head at the mention of the nickname.
Metal was the most confused out of the three now, looking from one adult to the other for answers without saying anything at all.
âNeji, Iâ I never imagined I would speak with you again. I am married, and I have children now,â the taijutsu master replied, looking away. His son observed the situation in silence, looking a bit anxious now. âShikamaru and I⊠it just happened. We can still be friends, but that is it.â
He had been expecting it, yet Lee's words didn't hurt less; Neji felt his heart shattering in pieces on the spot, lips tremblingâ he looked away, not really in the mood to look his now-ex in the eyes anymore. Only wanting to be swallowed by the thin hospital blanket covering his body.
â... fine,â Neji muttered, feeling tears threatening to go out, though he just inhaled to calm himself down and⊠repress them, as usual.
âI will help you with whatever you need to heal, alright? I probably need to call the nurse⊠but you will not be alone on this, Neji. I will make sure of that!â Lee added in an attempt to cheer him up, though the brunet wasn't listening anymore.
He felt alone, anyways, with his mind stuck years in the past. Not even his companion's bright smile managed to fill the newfound hole in his heartâ and honestly, he just wanted to rest, close his eyes and fall into the same deep slumber he had just gotten out of.
His fate had always been the worst, and it was clearer with every passing day. It would've been better if he had just died during the warâ that way, Neji would've never seen Lee moving on without him, he wouldn't be struggling with his lack of movements and newfound weakness.
It was a torture. His boyfriendâ ex, was so close yet so far, and the doctors immediately went to help him recover as fast as they could. Sakura personally was supervising his case no matter how complicated being the Hokage and the Head Doctor was at the same time, wanting to heal him as possible.
But it was complicatedâ he had no reason to heal, after all. So why bother? Neji didn't feel any kind of enthusiasm about getting out of the hospital, knowing well he would be alone again, unable to even walk on his own because of his damaged muscles⊠he hated how slow he had become, not only in his movements but also in reading.
His brain had forgotten certain words and phrases, and kanji was not an easy task anymore. Neji didn't like going back to the beginning, even if the doctors said it was good for him.
He should've just died. That would've been more merciful, but fate had never been kind. Of course it would keep him alive, solely to play with his feelings⊠he should've expected it.

Verse: Fallout
Based on the post apocalyptic game series "Fallout". Can take place in any of the game setting, It's not important where she is, just her back story.
Elena and Jeremy Gilbert were born outside of the vault long after dwellers started returning to the surface. She had only heard stories of what vault life is like and has always been interested in how different it is from above ground life in the wasteland. She knows there's rumors of several vaults that have not been opened yet, or colonies that have no left the vault yet- it's something shes always low key looking for without going out of her way for it..
Elena and Jeremy lost their parents pretty young, Elena was 16 and Jeremy was 14. Luckily, their family was part of the founding families of the small wasteland colony "Mystic Falls." Everyone knows everyone and the kids were raised by their aunt Jenna- a wasteland courier.
Jenna taught them how to handle weapons and scavenge, how to fight and survive. She didn't think any one let alone her own family should not know how to defend themselves in todays wasteland.
Unfortunately a year later Jenna disappeared after being sent on a courier mission. Elena doesn't know if shes alive or not, and its been over a year. She still has hope, but most have told her to be realistic.
Furthering her life of tragic happenings, while out scavenging, Elena and Jeremy were ambushed by a deathclaw. It was a narrow escape for Elena, walking away with only a large set of claw mark scars on her upper back... but Jeremy was killed.
Elena was distraught at the loss of her brother and fired three more shots angrily into the dead deathclaws head- it was only then that she heard a frightened squeak from somewhere behind the body.
It was a baby, a hatchling deathclaw... the creature had been protecting its young, and THEY had scared HER. Elena felt her heart break yet again. She decided, being as compassionate as she is, to take the baby deathclaw home and raise it. Which she did- with much dismay of the towns folk, but no one really put their foot down with how much the girl had lost.
As it got older it showed some traits that reminded Elena of her brother, so she named him Jeremy. And he grew up to pretty much be a little brother to her, protective and he loves her fiercely. She never goes anywhere without him (he wont let her) He is very well behaved and very intelligent for a deathclaw. He keeps her safe while shes traveling the wasteland.
19-20 years old
Jeremy is huge
proficient in hand to hand, sniper, assault rifle, handgun, shot gun
way too compassionate for the wastelands
probably way too trusting too

wait im touched, go ahead and steal all the ideas you want from me, i am a willing subject of the greatness of your grand scheme jajaja it's honestly an honor if you were serious about that (and if you need opinions, you know im always there to give them)(on a more serious note, im glad you enjoy my thoughts as much as i enjoy yours <3) and vulnerability between two people that could kill each other is always such a banger because THEY COULD but THEY WONT because they like each other (yes, im ignoring every other MCs that will try to kill joren)
i know in the context of the ask about MC embrancing death, joren's reaction is not supposed to be ohohoh but the "hell make you scream" and "hell make you cry" are kind of... don't threaten me with a good time you know and for the adopting kids, why do i feel like if MC ever expressed randomly they wanted kids joren would be the type to just grab a random orphan and bring it home like here, all proud like a cat that brings a dead mice to its master while MC is like JOREN NO- and for the tongue, now im wondering first how it would go to kiss with it? i feel like it wouldnt be all that bad but im biased so better to ask and by any chance, for the second question, would joren lick wounds with it because i suppose as he was mistreated in the past, he had to take care of his wounds by himself somehow (?) and that leads to the question if MC cut their finger, would he lick the cut...... cause thatd be cute - ram
0Yeah! Of course, I was serious about that! It's great to hear other people's ideas, it makes me consider new concepts I wouldn't have otherwise. And you've given me a lot of inspiration with yours <3
And yes! I love that vulnerability. I especially can't wait to write the branches where MC becomes a bigger menace than Joren and now they're on equal ground to kill each other, but they're in love <33, so they won't do that (me too ram, let's ignore his death endings).
I get it! The moment is supposed to be "oh no", but as the player, sometimes you feel other things. I've experienced it before, and there was this murdersim game that kinkshamed me for it! Could you believe it? Literally called me a pervert, haha!
I lowkey felt a little ashamed afterward, but it was funny.
I wish I could write it like that, but I really have no idea where he could even find a kid in the "child-friendly Joren" epilogue, but it'd be accurate if the environment permitted it.
Ah, I meant the tongue of his monster form!! In his human form, there's no problem with kissing or anything like that!
And this may be kind of a surprise, but his injuries received basic care. He joined the service of the noble house to survive, after all, he had to get something in exchange for... the things he did for them.
But this makes me think about his life after that, when he's already free and living on his own. I imagine him spending large amounts of time in his monster form and getting accustomed to grooming himself with his tongue, just like cats do. And when he's back in his human form, he has to fight against the urge of doing it because it has become a habit.
Joren acting like a cat hits differently, it's very cute.
Joren taking naps under the Sun, rubbing his face against MC's chest/neck/stomach while cuddling, resisting the urge of chasing little animals (birds, lizards), waiting to groom MC with his tongue, sleeping in weird positions that should be uncomfortable, hugging MC and fighting the random urge of biting them out of nowhere...
And yeah, if MC cut their finger, he'd totally lick it if he's already crossed some boundaries by then. He'd be pretty nonchalant about it too, just following the random urges he gets sometimes.
#ask away!#from lon to you#ramblingâïž!!!#the stranger lore#i saw the asks you sent today too!!#ill answer them as soon as i can!!

The One with their Baby Ducklings
pairing: namjin x maknae line (ft. uncles sope)
summary: after the disaster, nobi realizes that they are all namjinâs baby ducklings that have been following them since the very beginning
Yelling.
That was the first thing jungkook heard when he woke up. judging by the sound of the voice, it mustâve been jin and he was angry. this time, he was very pissed off and jungkook wanted to stay inside his room to avoid the wrath of jin, even though he doesnât even know what caused it. the words sounded muffled and he was confused with what happened but something inside told him it was something he wouldnât want to hear.
âSERIOUSLY! YOU SHOULDNâT DO SOMETHING YOU DONâT KNOW WITHOUT SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO HANDLE THE SITUATION IF TURNED FOR THE WORST!â
âYOU COULDâVE GOTTEN HURT! THANK GOD THE CABINETS ARE NOT WOODEN OR OUR HOUSE WOULDâVE BURNED DOWN!â
âYOU SHOULDâVE CALLED ME TO TELL ME WHAT YOU WERE WANTING TO DO SO I COULD TELL YOU HOW TO DO IT PROPERLY AND SAFELY!â
âDO YOU KNOW HOW MY HEART STOPPED WHEN JIMIN CALLED ME ALL FRANTIC AND SCARED?!â
âI CANNOT BELIEVE YOU!â
a knock from his door made him jump and he burrowed under the covers to hide from his oldest hyung but peeked his head out when he heard the second oldestâs voice.
âKook?â Yoongiâs voice came through from the other side of the door. âyou awake?â
âah hyung, i think heâs still sleeping.â That was the voice he recognized to be hobiâs.
âare you serious? after all that, heâs still sleeping.â
jungkook stood up to go to the door and he slowly opened it to peek out and see the faces of yoongi and hoseok.
âoh, jungkook!â hobi whisper-yelled and jungkook smiled. âcan we come in? weâre not exactly comfortable being out there right now.â
the youngest made way for the older two to enter and they sat on nobiâs bed while jungkook laid on his.
âwhat happened?â jungkook asked.
hobi laughed while yoongi let out a small chuckle. âit appears while hyung and i were out, the other 3 caught the kitchen on fire.â
with the mention of âfireâ, jungkook turned around and wildly looked at them. âfire? is nobi okay?â
âseriously, we tell him the kitchen bursted into flames and the first thing he cares about is nobi.â yoongiâs quiet complains made jungkook quietly growl causing yoongi to wave him off quietly. âyes, sheâs okay. but right now, i think she most prefers the flames over her yelling mother out there.â
âapparently, to what we heard jimin say, they wanted to make chicken but they left the oil for too long and caused a grease fire,â hoseok explained.
âah, seriously. asami sakura,â jungkook groaned and slapped his hand against his forehead.
âyou know, when we passed by, nobi was close to crying.â yoongi hit the back of hoseokâs head for the careless confession.
âyah, donât say that to him,â he quietly scolded causing the younger to mumble an apology. they nervously looked at jungkook, expecting a glare due to how territorial he was to the girl.
âwhat he meant to say was that nobiâs feeling sorry and i think she was just shaken up.â
âiâm going out there,â jungkook stood up but the other two held him down.
âno. youâll be roped into a situation you have no business in being in so just stay in here until everything is re-solved,â hoseok reasoned. it didnât go well with the youngest.
âif the 3 of them almost burned the dorm to the ground, donât you think itâs an issue we should re-solve by talking it out as a group?â
yoongi and hoseok looked at each other in defeat, knowing that there was nothing else they could say without jungkook arguing with them.
...
nobi sat on the beige couch, fingers fidgeting slightly and hair fanning the sides of her face as if it was an attempt to hide in shame. taehyung and jimin were both looking at the floor, head hanging in shame.
âwhat were you all thinking just cooking something like that out of the blue?â jin asked angrily, draped over the loveseat with his leg on top of his knee. his voice was hoarse from all the yelling and scolding. âyou couldâve gotten badly hurt! burned!â
âit wasnât their fault, hyung.â nobi looked up to meet his eyes. âi asked them and itâs all my fault. i couldnât wait for you to come home and i really wanted to try something new.â
âwhat do you mean âsomething newâ? you help me cook all the time!â jin said.
âi wanted to cook something for you and showcase what iâve learned from you,â nobi mumbled. âiâm sorry, hyung.â
namjoon looked at jin and he nodded. âlisten, you three. sure, weâre angry and weâre mad. but we were just worried because you didnât know how to put it out and we donât know what we would do if you got hurt. youâre more than our members and co-workers. youâre our family, you guys. do you understand?â
tears gathered in her eyes at her leaderâs words as there was no one else she wanted to impress. heâs her idol and him telling her that was enough to get the waterfall to spill down her face.
âi understand that it was an accident and you were just trying to eat something. but, dear god, i will never forgive myself for leaving you here and being hurt because i wasnât here,â jin sighed.
âyour lives are our top priority and we will do anything to keep you from hurting yourselves anymore than you have.â
the appearance of the last 3 members from the hallway made everyone look at them and jungkook immediately stuck himself beside nobi on the space that taehyung made by scooting to the edge of the couch and wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
âsorry i wasnât awake to help,â he mumbled to which she just smiled softly.
âyou wouldâve probably made it worse.â
âiâll just ask this: are you guys okay?â yoongi asked, the slightest tone of worry in his voice.
âyea,â the maknae line, minus jungkook, replied quietly.
âa fire. thank god for the fire extinguisher,â jin kept muttering.
âthat mustâve been the feeling that we felt!â hoseok giggled at the unfamiliar dread in the pit of his stomach earlier. âyoongi-hyung and i had this weird sense of dread and we thought we were going crazy!â
âi think something was trying to tell us it was a fire since the song played in my speakers,â yoongi added.
âmaybe fate was trying to tell us you were in trouble?â hoseok wondered. âsorry your uncles werenât there to help, kids.â
âyouâre not our uncles, hyung.â jiminâs comment made the self-proclaimed uncles look at him wildly causing him to stutter out, âmore like,,, cousins?â
âeither way, we apologize for not being there to help you.â
âshouldnât you have called me first though, asami sakura?â yoongi pointed, fake hurt plastered on his face.
namjoon and jin shared a look that meant they were done with this whole thing. but they appreciated the othersâ attempt of lightening up the mood.
âyou should be punished for this whole thing,â jin said causing the three to deflate. âbut since it was an accident and you didnât meant to, i wonât make it very harsh. just cleaning up this mess and dish duty for 3 months, one for each of you. and you 3 arenât allowed to be at home without one of us to stay behind.â
surprise was evident on their faces as they were expecting something harsh like cleaning the whole dorm but hey, theyâll take just dish duty. they were grateful for jinâs understanding as the situation wasnât in their control and they couldnât help the fire from happening.
ânamjoon, you stay here while i go take a bath. good lord, i need a nice bath to calm myself,â jin stood up and walked to the hallway. âmy heart is still beating.â
âi woke up to him. but at least he got it out of his system by screaming and yelling,â jungkook explained.
nobi was still quiet but she moved closer to his side and he tightened his hold around her.
âi think iâm spiderman,â hoseok massaged his chest, on top of where his heart was supposed to be. âlike i got his instictual feeling!â
âno, you are anpanman.â
jiminâs quiet retort made the others chuckle and namjoon observed his little family.
the mood has turned from dark to light in a matter of minutes and jin returned with his signature pink hoodie and grey sweats while running his hands through his hair.
âsince youâre hungry and you werenât able to eat, weâll just order chicken. no cooking from now on! youâre not allowed to be near the stove! 6 feet apart between you and the stove!â jin warned and the three nodded.
âaccidents happen, you guys. but we just have to continue moving forward while making changes to make sure this doesnât happen again,â namjoon smiled which soothed the remaining fear in her stomach.
jimin, taehyung, and nobi thought the same thing as they looked at their mother and father simultaneously.
something flashed in their eyes and it was the same exact memory from when they were still trainees and suffered at the mere thought of debut.Â
when the 6 of them, including yoongi, were crying and having a mental breakdown, namjoon and jin were the only ones who kept their cool and offered their hands to pull them out of that hole. when their doubts and worries overtook their minds and caused the biggest arguments in their group, namjoon and jin were the ones who stayed up many nights, figuring out ways for broadcasts to give them a chance to debut and keeping the group together.
despite their ages, they were still just children and people who were naive that got angry at the simple thought and acknowledgement of disappointment. but namjoon and jin were the ones who forced themselves to mature so they could help the others and make their dreams come true.
in a way, they dragged the others from their slump and dark thoughts and made them trail behind jin with his words of encouragement while namjoon stayed behind to make sure no one strayed away and succumbed to the temptation of sadness and giving up.
they were namjoon and jinâs little ducklings, following behind but refusing to leave the line even though they were more than capable of being their own ducks and spreading their wings to fly.
they were a family and they will continue to stay on that line until they die.
they will always be the baby ducklings since their trainee days.

COLD NIGHTS - Cassian x Azriel x Reader - Prompt:Â
hi i love your work so much!!! I was thinking a cassian x azriel x reader (i just love them sm, why have one when you can have two ) where the reader is sister of a high lord maybe day or winter court, and reader goes missing (kinda angsty) and her brother (a high lord) panics and goes to the night court for help (bc if her two bat boys canât find her who will)Â and az and cassian go full on panic mode and search for the reader, i was also thinking a fluffy cute ending where reader is just cuddling with azriel and cassian while her wounds heal take as much time as you need to write this, donât pressure yourself. Take care lovely
Kallis would never forget the screams. The terror and panic that rushed through him when he realised that you were gone. He sent half the city to search for you. He called upon Helion to inspect the magic. He was frantic in finding you. But it was like you had just disappeared out of nowhere. No sign of struggle, not a drop of blood spilled. The offender was sloppy in their ways, but their magic was strong. Helion could sense it. They had a deathwish from Kallis himself if he ever found them. + The first thing you saw were your cracked and bloody hands. They were split open from the dry cold wind. Sea air drifted into the cave. The cold brutal howling outside mixed with the roar of waves breaking confirmed your nightmares. Cape Tragedy.Â
The islands off the coast of winter were known for their unforgiving nature to ships. Hence their name, Cape Tragedy. Also known as the Tragic coast, no stories were ever heard of any survivors of those crashes. If they had managed to survive the churning water, then the false salvation of the islands would kill them. It happened often enough that there were lighthouses set atop many of the bigger islands for ships to avoid on stormy days.
You coughed from the dry air, earning a pair of yellow eyes to dart to you. One of the three lesser fae males noticed you were awake and clapped. "She wakes! We've been waiting for you, sweetheart." His green skin was pale in the overcast light streaming in from the mouth of the cave. Snow Bear pelts lay all around. A disgrace in your culture. No citizen of Winter court would do such a thing. You looked to the walls to find weapons, and strange markings along the stone. Sailors from far away lands.Â
Not even sailors. Pirates. A chill ran through you. Â
"We're going to get your weight in gold, pretty one." The scaled male curled a piece of your hair behind you ear. Your stomach turned, and you tried to scoot away. "My brother will kill you first. And he'll take a long time doing it." You promised, trying to make your voice sound strong. Terror had you by it's grip though, and it was hard to do anything other than panic
. "Your brother? The pretty one that shears the Elk?" The green one asked. You laughed, and then were hissing in pain when the scaled male yanked on your hair. "What's so funny?"Â
"You think my brother is an elk herder?" You spat "You must be dumber than you look." The males glanced between each other, then to the one who hadn't said anything yet.
"Who ye think you are then?" The male holding your hair stammered, trying to keep his panic under wraps.Â
"Kallis' sister." You said with deadly calm. "And the high lord does not negotiate."Â
"If you're so noble why you got such a mouth on ye?" The third male finally spoke.
They laughed.
"Maybe we will see just how much of a mouth-" He started again. He didnt have a chance to finish his disgusting words. You kicked, bending an ice spear straight up from the rocky ice floor and through the third male's body. Then the beating from the other two came.Â
They bound your wrists and ankles in rope and tar. Their hands shook when they did it. It gave you a small bit of satisfaction. The potion they gave you to knock you out was just barely strong enough. You fought it as best you could, but it won. You could only hear the faint sounds of arguing then a crash of glass, then the cold winds whipping around you. And when you woke, your body ached. The cold bit into your limbs. Your fingers were pale. Far too pale to be healthy. You knew frostbite when you saw it. Your body refused to move under your own power. Your blood was frozen to the icy ground. They had used a potion and transported you to a peninsula, and you could only faintly hear the ocean below. You could feel the potion wearing off, but you knew you weren't healing. Not yet. You reached down into your own mind, picking up the fading tendrils of power. Of your bond to the two you knew could save you. And you pulled as hard as you could manage. --- "Fuck." The roaring thought shook Cassian awake. Bleary eyed, he glanced about the room as if there was someone actually shouting at him. Then he felt it. The weak tug that had been silent for so long. And he knew it was nothing good. Frenzied, he met Azriel at the dining area. Where they spent the rest of the night planning, deducing a probable reason for you to be calling so weakly. They sent their worries to Rhys, but they were shooed away. "I'm researching. Meet me in the library at dawn." The two males tried to comfort each other. But the worry pulsating through the bond was too much to focus on. So they waited. Kallis appeared that morning. He spat his story and begged for help, practically in tears as he spoke to the three Illyrians. Cassian and Az knew something was wrong the moment you were attacked. Court laws forbade them interfering on Winter Court territory though. As soon as the approval was given, the brothers winnowed to the border of Winter and started flying. + You were coming to terms that you would die in the cold. You had imagined death differently. Battle was the primary way you thought you'd die. Or at the end of a High Lord's magic for being too much of an advisor. Smiling at the memory of putting Tamlin in his place, you gave another tug down the bonds to your mates. And like a snap, they both tugged back. Almost in unison. It was hard to tell. You closed your eyes, listening to the soft waves below. They lulled you into a cold sleep yet again. + Despite the cold, the Illyrians flew as fast as they could. They could sense your light fading, and chased it for mile after mile. Their wings cut through the harsh winter winds, fueled by rage and desperation. Then they spotted the dark figure frozen to the snow below. Cassian landed first, a few feet away. The ice cracked beneath him. "Get us out of here." He growled to Azriel. "We need to make sure she's okay before we move." Cassian growled, but didn't protest. Azriel understood. He felt the anguish and frustration through the shared bond. Az's hands pressed gently to your neck, checking your pulse. He swore. "Baby, we need you to wake up for us. We're here. We got you." Cassian put a hand to your cheek and fought back the tears that threatened. You groaned in response. They both sighed in relief, their breath making clouds in front of them. "I'm stuck..." You managed through your stiff jaw. Cassian stroked a thumb over your cheek. "Stuck? Honey you're-" "Cas..." Azriel nodded to your side, to the ice that crept its way up your damp clothes. Azriel could have taken a very very long time torturing the beasts that did this to his mate. The rage coiled in his gut at the sight of your injuries. The only reason you hadn't bled out was the blood and water mix turning your wounds to ice. Cassian pulled at the ice web that encapsulated you. Under the heat of his rage it broke, and broke and broke. Azriel placed small patches of his shield over your frostbitten fingers. "We're gonna get you out of here. Just stay still." Azriel smoothed back your hair, and darkness swirled over you. The change from the harsh overcast light of Winter court to the soft sun of Night court was jarring. Madja put her hands on you and you were asleep in an instant. Her warm hands were a blessing from the Mother. + "She's lucky she has that Winter blood in her or she'd be dead." Madja wiped her hands off and handed both the Illyrians a small vial. "That is the scrap from a poisoned sword that broke off in her shoulder. I got all the pieces out, but the poison lingers. It may heal slowly, but it should get better." Anguish burned both of their stomachs. Azriel's throat tightened and he looked away, but gripped the vial tightly. Cassian stared at it, his eyes murderous. Madja left without another word. "She was almost killed. And we couldn't do anything." Cassians' voice was low, with violence dripping from it. "We need her here. In Velaris where we can... watch her." He didn't know what he was saying, but the instinct to protect was overriding every other logical thought he had. Anger burned and burned in his stomach, swallowing him with rage. He could feel Az mirroring the same feeling, but with a cold deadliness that begged to simmer out of him. "You know she wont go for that. She loves her home too much. Her brother." Azriel whispered back. "We're her mates. She should be with us." Cassian was looking for a fight. All the tension and anger of the day had to be worked out. Azriel felt it too. His shadows ran anxiously through the room.
The wind outside howled. It shifted the dark clouds that covered the moon. It seemed to be a cold day in all of Prythian. A cold day in your mates hearts to the pirates that had taken you. They spoke their rage mind to mind, imagining the ways to torture the bastards.Â
How to find them would be the first priority. Azriel kept circling back to that part. + The healer cleared his throat at the door. "She's asking for you." He nodded to Rhys' brothers. They left Rhys behind in unison, walking in perfect step with each other. Their minds hummed together over that bond they shared with you. "Protect protect protect." They both seemed to demand. Azriel knocked softly, his heart flipping when he heard your voice again. "Get in here." You demanded, giving them a broad smile when they practically shoved each other out of the way.Â
"Come keep me warm." You weakly folded the blanket back, exposing some of the bruising on your skin.Â
They complied with enthusiasm. Azriel's hands were cold at first, but they got better when he reached around you to hold Cassian closer. They worked in tandem to keep you covered, making sure that you weren't too crowded or too warm. Azriel summoned his cool shadows when you got too warm and had to kick the blankets off. Cassian's warm breath would keep you warm when they became too much. You traced Azriel's cheekbones, the sharp edge of his jaw while falling alseep. Cassian's muscled forearms hugging you from behind were like a heavy pillow.Â
"Rest now, we can have more fun later." Az winked, making your stomach flutter. Cassian groaned and pulled you further to his lap. You tried not to think of the hardness that pressed to you now. "Goodnight." The shadowsinger kissed your forehead and like a light, you were out. Finally resting peacefully wrapped between your two mates and their warm bond you all shared.Â

Hi hi!!! I hope you are ok i read you are a lil sick so i hope you take plenty of rest!! And reply to this when you can! So no worry take your time
I was thinking about 2 things i talked before, first one i feel the kid wont hate Beni since as you said if the Kids have helped Beni i feel Beni wont go and try to get rid of any them since i feel him and other people will have accept them on the contrary i feel he will tell them to go away and not to comeback but like upset but also sad about it, kids would be hurt of course and then maybe some will be salty about it i think they will take "revenge" on him by challenge him a looooot on the training grounds and Ingo been like "told you they are upset" same with kamado they will try to train so hard with ingo sonthey could beat them a lot im the training grounds, i also even imagine some of them been like double battle because they kinda rmeember that but been "we are doing it the Hisui way" because if you notice some Npc battle with multiple pokemon at the same time hahah
With Lian! Hahaha i feel he will tell Akari that yeah he cant help her but i am sure that he will also give her some supplies for her to survive like food, medicine and stuff telling her that even if he "cant help her" right now he is helping her as a "friend" same as ingo i feel as you did in your fic they wont care they will do it undercover to help her out, and i guess that why when they wanted to forge the original ball Lian was like "YES LET ME HELP HER!!!" I also feel like the great Melli knows about his Crush with Akari and will tease him more hahah
Thank you!!! I am thankfully doing better now! :) (but I missed a ton of asks from this time ack! Super sorry, things were a haze with that ear infection at the time!! ^^;)
I much prefer the thought of them not hating Beni. I certainly didnât hate Beni when he told me he wanted to smite me in that cavern pass haha. Maybe it helped at the end that he said he didnât really want to harm us. He was just doing his job from Kamado!! So (most??) of the kids wouldnât hate him. They spent a lot of time with him before at the wallflower, some even helping him out in the kitchen!
After finding out heâs a ninja though, Iâm sure some kids would latch onto that once relations with Jubilife are mended, and they would want to challenge him all the time in the training grounds. Kamado too, but that might be more from lingering anger haha.
And as for Lian, the thought of Melli getting on him for his crush on Akari is funny, considering how reactive he gets with Lianâs remarks in the daybreak DLC. Melli stoops so low to get back at Lian, like Melli that is a 10 year old child a crush is normal haha. And I love the thought that Lian is so eager to help with the origin ball because he feels like he can finally help Akari out ;w; yes!!
Great thoughts OP!!

(Im on phone so sorry if this is hard to follow/read)
My thoughts is that Luffy and Crocodile are on natural ground.
As in pirate natural ground. Could be enemy, could be ally but wont act on anything and just suspiciously side eye eachother to figure out the others motive.
Well atleast on Luffys pov.
Luffy very much love Vivi and Crocodile hurt her greatly, but he also helped ace and luffy in the war so probably still hate Crocodile over Alabasta but wont go for the throat if he meets crocodile again if you understand me.
Maybe he didnt really comment on Crocodile in the poster because Crocodile has gone back to be bit of a nobody to Luffy.
On Crocodile side we seen that he seem happy with Luffys news in the pappers.
I dont think he would act all bubbly if they meet again. But wont be at all hostile.
But I think Crocodile likes Luffy now more than Luffy likes Crocodile.
Its also funny that Luffy ruined Crocodiles plans, beat him up, had his affairs out in the open and getting arrested where he got boiled alive.
But meeting Luffy again he just go "water under the bridge". Literally no hatred.
And then theres Buggy that owned him money and Crocodile was ready to murder him over it.
I will lean on Luffy not knowing that Crocodile saved him at the end of the war.
Hes not one to ask about the past and only knew about Law saving him because he woke up on his ship.
I hope we get the backstory of Crocodile.
When we first meet him in Alabasta he trusted no one. Robin was the closest to him but he knew nothing about her and didnt want to know anything about her.
He would kill his best agents over small mistakes and would enjoy giving his enemies a slow death.
After being defeated he stopped caring, he didnt want to go with Ms. Goldenweek when she came to rescue everyone and rather went to Impel Down.
Getting Pluton seemed to be his last chance for something. After that failed he went numb about the world.
The idea of taking down Whitebeard was the only thing that made him want to get out again.
And that mission he suddenly abandoned to protect Ace and Luffy.
After the war he kept Daz Bones close, teamed up with Mihawk and got happy everytime there where news about Luffy.
Something made Crocodile care. And my question is what made him not care in the first place?
If we bring in crocomom/crocodad theory into this then I think Crocodile didnt have a say in the hiding of Luffy. Maybe he didnt even knew he was still alive.
So while Dragon wanted to fight for a better world that his son could live in, Crocodile become resentful and angry about the world and want to see it burn.
Crocodile is an entertaining villian and its hard to not wanting him succeed in what ever he is trying to do now.
When the strawhats meet Crocodile again I cant see it go out that well.
Robin still sees Crocodile as one of the worst enemies of her past. So she would not be happy meeting him again. Maybe even horrified.
Jinbie might be the one thats more positive about Crocodile because of Crocodiles last act in the war. But he did try to kill Whitebeard and it seemed like the other warlords was told of why Crocodile was arrested and had his warlord title taken away. So maybe not too positive about Crocodile.
But he would probably tell everyone that he and Luffy only survived the war because Crocodile got between them and Akainu.
The Strawhats that was at Alabasta would definitely be aggressive if Luffy doesnt tell them off or Jinbie mentioned them being saved by him.
The rest will just follow everyone else lead as they have no idea who Crocodile is exept a ex-warlord
(also about Robins crimes getting brushed under the rug is probably because we didnt really see her personally do anything against civilans and just against baroque works agents. And was just working for Crocodile to survive (as he seemed to be only one not selling her out to the marines)and trying to keep Oharas research alive.)
The worst part about trying to figure out what Crocodile's deal is that because he's so fucking irredeemably evil in Alabasta... Like... Yeah he's just irredeemably evil. Like I love him but he did cause countless casualties, a ton of pain and suffering and literally attempted to blow up a million people
Like no amount of theoretical "trying to do it to save his son from the Government" or "trying to stop the Government from hurting anyone else" or just "doing it for the greater good" is going to make him any less of a mass murderer
But also Robin absolutely 100% helped with all of that shit simply because she wanted to read the Poneglyph for herself.
No amount of her intending to betray Crocodile from the begining and sabotaging his plans erases the fact that Robin also caused countless people to starve to death and die in the civil war. Her sabotages only succeeded out of sheer luck, and only spared the lives of the people at the final battle. She has the blood of countless innocents on her hands. Because she wanted to read history.
But her crimes were swept under the rug because she has a sad backstory and her sabotages worked out just at the nick of time by sheer dumb luck
So Croc??? Just??? Is there a chance??? At all???
But also he did literally intend to sell Buggy into slavery
Like, fuck Buggy, but jesus
What's also killing me is that we like. Don't know what Luffy thinks of Crocodile right now. Which really is like. The thing that will decide how we, as the readers, are supposed to feel about Crocodile. Luffy is our POV
Like we don't know what Luffy's opinion of Crocodile is after he helped save Luffy (and spared Ace once) during the Summit War. Like Luffy clearly fucking hated the man in Impel Down and the two interactions they had during the War weren't like positive (in the sense that Luffy himself didn't think of the interactions as particularly positive. Defending Whitebeard from being attacked once and then being like "wait what HIM?!" when Crocodile defended Ace. To be fair, in the midst of the chaos, there wasn't much time to spend on Pondering On Such Things because Ace needed to be saved, and Oda goes out of his way to not show us what's going on inside Luffy's head, because it's all meant to be out in the open anyways. Regardless, these weren't like "yay it's Crocodile! :)" moments for Luffy is what I mean)
But also Luffy was very grateful of Law for saving his life and was willing to put his trust into Law for their alliance- of course, they weren't explicitly enemies to begin with, rivals at most, but still. Luffy respects those who help him.
But also Luffy grew during the timeskip. Like he's not that clueless anymore (like he finally understands Hancock is in love with him etc), and similarly Luffy gets that Buggy is an absolute loser now. But also Buggy did also help save Luffy's life (even if it was by accident), and while IDK if Luffy is aware of that, I don't think that helped improve Luffy's impression of Buggy
So like. The fuck does Luffy think of Crocodile, at this moment? Even with the Cross Guild reveal, he didn't even really comment on Croc and just focused his energy on being confused about Buggy being "the leader" of CG. IDK it feels almost intentional or something, that we don't know what Luffy thinks?? Especially since we did get Zoro's opinion on Mihawk in the situation?? Or am I delulu?? (Sidenote. I'd love to know what Robin would have to say about Crocodile helping save Luffy's life. What Jinbei might think of the final words Crocodile left him with before blasting them out of Akainu's reach. But mainly just Robin's thoughts)
Like IDK my best guess would be that Luffy still hates Crocodile just the same but is like grossed out by technically owing him one??? In the classic
-kinda way, you know? And that he'd be just kinda confused about it?
Because I can't fucking imagine Luffy being like "oh we're cool now" with Crocodile, let alone "Yay Crocodile :) He saved my life!". But also like. Luffy does kind of owe Croc one. Kind of. And Luffy is usually very respectful of that kind of thing. Aaaaaaaa???
(Also does. Does Luffy even know it was Crocodile who yeeted him and Jinbei out of Akainu's reach to begin with. 'Cause he was unconcious. Knocked the fuck out. Does. Does Luffy even know. Did anybody tell him???)
I just.
There's the reasonable part of me that knows Crocodile is an irredeemable evil dickbag and everything he has ever said and done up to the most recent chapters support that. He is too far gone.
And then there's the absolutely delulu part that loves a tragic villian who gets a heartwrenching redemption that's looking for any fucking sign that could indicate Crocodile could maybe be one

Hi miss Kit! So um, I'm not the anon who had the idea about the Pokemon obikin AU but I saw that you're still looking for a prompt so I did some brainstorming?
Obviously Anakin is aiming to be a Pokemon Master which is why he'll have to fight the elite four eventually. Which is not an easy task despite what the games might imply! So what if, despite breezing through the gyms before, beating Team Rocket and having a team that is powerful and adores him, he still fails his first attempt at the league.
I remember Prof Oak telling your rival after you beat him in gen 1 that he lost to you because he doesn't love his Pokemon enough which is bullsh*t!! But must surely be a cutting remark.
So ofc he goes to caretaker!Obi-Wan afterwards because he is a former Pokemon trainer so how has he dealt with loss before? Does Anakin really not love his team enough? Bonus points if Obi has challenged the league before (and won??)
I just realized that this is way too angsty for the Pokemon universe >.< everything is nice and soft here
alright!!!!!! finally!!! here is that pokĂ©mon au, a bastardization of this prompt and @sinhalbutnoangst 's prompt "24: Right before a passionate/first kiss & 16: âThereâs nothing to be scared of, okay? Iâm right here.â For a PokĂ©mon AU !!!"
I hope y'all both enjoy or at least find parts to be happy about!!!
(fair warning i don't know a lot about pokémon so who knows how accurate this is at ALL)
(3.3k)
(i've linked each pokémon name with their pokedex picture just so everyone knows what they look like. no need to read the descriptions or anything)(god knows i didn't half the time)
Obi-Wan is in the water, tending to a shy gyarados a trainer had left behind as a Magikarp a few months ago, when on the shore his flareon raises its muzzle and barks loudly. Thatâs her signal that someoneâs arrived at the Daycare center proper. Obi-Wan furrows his eyebrows, as he strokes his hand down the gyarados' side.
âI always tell them to call ahead,â he mutters as the pokemon nudges closer for more attention. âWhy do they never call ahead?â
Gyarados knocks him hard in the arm. Itâs clear she wants more pats, but business calls.
âWould you mind terribly taking me back to shore, dear?â Obi-Wan asks politely. Itâd be faster than swimming all the way there, and it would strengthen the PokĂ©mon's connection with humans.
On the shore, Flareon bounds around in a circle, tail flickering back and forth. It must be someone she recognizes the scent of. A regular then. That means Obi-Wan can take his time getting back to the counter to greet them, but he probably shouldnât show up dripping wet in only a pair of swim trunks.
Luckily, Gyarados gives him a lift, bellowing mournfully to be left alone again when Obi-Wan alights onto the sand. When her trainer comes back to pick it up, Obi-Wan has half a mind to offer to buy her from them. No one who actually cares about their pokemon would leave a magikarp to become a gyarados under the care and instruction of someone else.
But becoming known as the Daycare Runner who gets attached to PokĂ©mon and tries to keep them is perhaps a serious threat to his business as a whole. And heâs already done that too many times.
No, the best thing to do is to wait for the trainer to come back and sit them down to give them a serious talk about their PokĂ©monâs emotional needs. Theyâre probably young. Most trainers are these days. On some level you have to be in order to have the energy to travel as much as you do, to sleep on the ground more nights than not.
Yes, theyâre probably young, and more focused on gym battles than their PokĂ©monsâ growth and happiness. It happens sometimes with tunnel vision like that. Too many advertisements for the PokĂ©mon League, the Elite Four, the Gym badges. Obi-Wan had been the same way when he was a kid.
He gathers his clothes from the shoreline and slips on his shoes. Flareon tries to help dry him out by wrapping herself repeatedly around his ankles and cooing out gusts of warm air, but all it does is create a new and unusual tripping hazard.
Especially when she suddenly perks up, about halfway to the building and jumps forward into a run. Obi-Wan stares after her, confused, clothes held in a slackened grip until he sees a very familiar growlithe running fult tilt from around the building. It hops the fence with practiced ease that makes Obi-Wan inwardly despair at the lesson itâs unwittingly teaching all of the other PokĂ©mon.
But he canât deny the way his heart thuds when he realizes what its presence means. His flareon, embarrassingly enough, seems to be thinking along the same lines, as she bounds up to the growlithe and starts winding between his legs instead, rubbing her head over every part of black and orange fur she can reach.
Obi-Wan sighs and shucks on his buttoned shirt, shaking out the water from his hair. He doesnât even really bother with pants, seeing as his wet swim trunks go almost to his knees.
Itâs Anakin. Anakinâs here. Anakin hasnât been here for four months when he left in the midst of a shouting match. Obi-Wan has been trying--unsuccessfully--to put Anakin out of his mind. And now Anakinâs growlithe is prancing towards him like itâs a special present to see him at all.
âYes, hello there,â Obi-Wan murmurs, pausing in buttoning up his shirt so he can pet at the growlitheâs--what does Anakin call him again?--muzzle. For a second, the PokĂ©mon nuzzles back, scenting his face and neck as territorial PokĂ©mon are wont to do, before it moves quickly forward and grabs Obi-Wan by the shirt, swinging him up onto its back.
Out of shock and a latent survival instinct, Obi-Wan drops the rest of his clothes and clings to the PokĂ©monâs back. âShit!â is on the tip of his tongue the entire two minutes it takes to bound back to the fence, over it and through the welcome doors of his own Daycare.
Anakin is standing, back to the entrance, furiously tapping the bell on the desk, looking somehow both desperate and bored.
Growlithe barks once, twice, and shakes himself hard enough that Obi-Wan knows to let go before he gets rolled over upon.
Itâs not the most graceful entrance he would have chosen after going months without seeing Anakin, to land on his back, partially dressed and smelling like the sea at the PokĂ©mon trainerâs feet.
Anakin at least has the wherewithal to be both surprised and immediately worried. âObi-Wan!â he yelps, turning around immediately upon his growlitheâs bark of victory.
âYes, hello there,â Obi-Wan says dryly sitting up from his sprawl and combing a nervous hand through his hair.
âWhere are your clothes?â Anakin asks shrilly, turning a very interesting shade of magenta and looking quickly away from Obi-Wan.
Obi-Wan couldnât be more different, what with the way he looks at Anakin as if heâs starved for the sight of him. Itâs been several long months since they last saw each other. The fight had been...awful, to say the least. Anakin had accused him of not really wanting him to succeed. Obi-Wan had accused him of the same tunnel vision he diagnoses most young adults to have.
Neither had been true. Obi-Wan hadnât even meant it, but heâd been mad. Heâd been mad that Anakin hadnât even thought to listen to him more than a Gym Leader heâd just defeated.
Palpatine had urged him to go straight to the League. Obi-Wan had thought it prudent to return home to his mother, give his PokĂ©mon a break, work his way to the island of the PokĂ©mon League naturally as a means of bonding with and further testing his PokĂ©mon. He has no idea who Anakin ended up listening to. Itâs been something that has haunted him for weeks.
âOut in the back,â Obi-Wan grunts, standing and trying to pick up the shattered pieces of his dignity under the PokĂ©mon trainerâs wide-eyed stare. Anakinâs grown older in the past few months, his face sharper. What is he now, newly twenty-three? Halfway to twenty-four? âYour Growlithe was quite enthusiastic to bring me here as soon as possible.â
Anakin flushes and looks down at his feet. He looks tired, Obi-Wan decides. Like heâs walked the entire continent just to show up at his door.
âSorry,â Anakin says sheepishly. âI had--â
âHim out and walking with you, I know,â Obi-Wan finishes with a fond shake of his head. He buttons the last necessary button on his shirt and sweeps past Anakin to stand behind his desk. âYou always liked having one of them out with you. Howâs your Jolteon?â
âTwilight?â Anakin asks, sounding surprised Obi-Wan even remembered he had a jolteon. He tries not to feel offended. Itâs an unfortunate truth that Obi-Wan remembers almost everything about Anakin, the trainer that used to hang around his daycare as though he couldnât bear to step more than fifty paces from his front door. âHeâs fine. A bit angry with me, I think.â
âOh?â Obi-Wan asks, furrowing his brow as he looks up at his guest. âIâm not sure I understand.â
Anakin is quiet for a few seconds, and his hands clench down on the edge of the counter-top. When he speaks, his voice wavers. âObi-Wan...do you think my PokĂ©mon love me? Like, do you think I am a good trainer?â
Obi-Wan stares at him. This isnât a conversation he should have without pants on, he decides. He slowly puts his pen down. âWhat happened, Anakin?â he asks gently, reaching out and laying a hand on the arm Anakin still has resting against the counter.
âI lost,â his favorite trainer whispers, looking down. Growlithe--Resolute, thatâs what Anakin had named him--noses into the nape of his neck. Obi-Wan is not jealous. âI challenged the Elite Four, and I lost in the second round.â
Obi-Wanâs hand tightens completely involuntarily. He hates hearing that after their years-long friendship, the last few years where heâd thought perhaps they were on the verge of being something more, despite his reservations, Anakin had listened to Palpatine over him. Palpatine.
âCome around back here,â he instructs after a secondâs thought. Somehow, still, after all these months, he thinks he knows what Anakin needs. âAnd release all of your PokĂ©mon from their PokĂ©balls.â
âAll of them?â Anakin asks, sounding so unsure Obi-Wanâs heart aches with the doubt of it all before he reigns that in. This isnât about him.
This isnât about him, but he canât stop himself from asking, just once, âYes. Do you trust me?â
Anakinâs fingers hesitate on the seal of his first PokĂ©ball, and Obi-Wanâs heart jumps into his throat. âYeah,â Anakin finally says gruffly, pressing the release. âYeah, I do.â
His altaria pops out of her PokĂ©ball with a trill and a flap of her cloud-shaped wings. He just catches a hint of the jolteon materialize into existence before he turns his back. âIâm going to put on proper clothes,â he tells Anakin over his shoulder. âPlease, make yourself comfortable. Iâm sure your PokĂ©mon will remember half the ones here.â
And all of the ones Obi-Wan calls his own, he doesnât add. Anakin should know. Anakinâs known them since he was fifteen years old and surly over the fact that his mother wouldnât let him go out and hunt legendary PokĂ©mon until he finished schooling.
He finds his abandoned clothes quickly, and shuffles into them. Flareon noses around him curiously, with more than a bit of excitement. She probably smells Anakin on him. The thought doesnât warm his cheeks, but if it does, heâll blame it on the sudden amount of heat sheâs giving off.
He leaves his shirt as is and doesnât even bother with the vest or tie. Heâs not here to be Professor Kenobi. Heâs here to be Obi-Wan, Anakinâs friend. Thatâs what Anakin needs from him right now. A friend.
He fixes his hair anyway in a mad bout of nerves, but no one, not even his mienshao or flareon, obsessed with appearances as they are, are paying enough attention to him in order to soothe his sudden insecurities.
More than anything, he wants to be back in the sea, surrounded by the gyaradosâ coils. He doesnât understand humans as much as he would like to, and he certainly doesnât understand Anakin. Not anymore. Perhaps he never did.
His flareon bumps at his wrist with the crown of her head and he looks down with a sigh. âSomeoneâs excited, I see,â he murmurs wryly, smoothing down the stuck-up fur of her hair and chest mane. She purrs. âNot the most excited though,â he adds with a huff as he sees a blur of white and blue from the corner of his eyes as the female Meowstic who spends most of her time strolling the parameter of the Daycare abandons her position to dart towards the backdoors where a newly emerged navy male Meowstic stands waiting.
They collide and curl into each other, two halves of one whole brought back together.
Well, thatâs as good as any sign to approach Anakin, who has decided to collapse on the soft grass of the enclosure. Other than the Meowstic, his freed PokĂ©mon have curled around him. The jolteon, Artoo, rests by his head, while his charizard, Mustafar, brackets the length of his body with his own. The growlithe sits watchful at his feet, while a new, unfamiliar pancham curls up on his chest. Finally, his gallade sits cross-legged to his side.
âYes,â Obi-Wan drawls before he can help himself, âItâs very obvious that your PokĂ©mon donât love you.â
Anakin bolts upright at the sound of his voice. The pancham growls at him, a baby noise that Obi-Wan didnât necessarily think the species capable of.
The PokĂ©mon trainer hushes it quickly with a stern, âVader, no.â
Obi-Wan comes to sit cross-legged in front of the man. âYou didnât have a pancham last time,â he says easily. What he really wants to ask is much more complicated. He wants to know everything. He wants to know how Anakin changed. When. Why. He wants to know whatâs still the same.
Itâs always complicated when it comes to Anakin. Itâs never been easy.
âHe was injured when I found him,â Anakin admits, stroking the top of Vaderâs head. âBut a fighter. I think I was injured when I found him too.â
The man seems so lost in his own recollections that Obi-Wan hates to interrupt. Carefully, Anakinâs jolteon, Twilight, noses his hand. When heâs not pushed away, he jumps into Obi-Wanâs lap with a trill. Flareon lets out a hiss, but acquiesces when the jolteon licks at her snout, accepting her ownership of Obi-Wan.
âI had just lost,â Anakin says slowly. âI wanted to come back here, rent a Lapras and just ride until I saw the shoreline I knew was yours. But I didnât know what youâd say to me. How mad youâd still be.â
Obi-Wan bites his lip. He wouldnât have been mad. Heâd been worried, from the second Anakin left his property. But how to tell the man that? Would the other even want to hear it? Would he think Obi-Wan was trying to infantilize him, to protect him?
âI didnât want you to be right.â Anakin whispers, arms tightening around the PokĂ©mon. âI didnât want you to be right and say that I wasnât ready. And then I was in the forest, walking home, and I found this guy. Heâd been attacked by a bug pokĂ©mon who was probably a higher level. But he was so angry still. I...I wanted him on my team. I needed that fire back.â
Obi-Wan suddenly thinks that thereâs much more distance between them than there should be. He wants to be hugging Anakin, to be kissing his temple. These were allowances they had given each other before the fight, things that Obi-Wan had squirreled away, close to his heart.
He wants them back.
âBut I keep thinking about how the professor who gave me my first PokĂ©mon told this guy I beat in my first battle that he lost because he didnât love his PokĂ©mon right, and I...Iâm just worried thatâs why I lost.â Anakin stares down at his pancham, who puts his paws on his cheeks and pats a few times.
âOh, Anakin,â Obi-Wan sighs. He thinks it sounds too fond, too revealing, but Anakin looks up at him with wide, frightened eyes. âIâve never known a trainer to love his PokĂ©mon more, dear one.â
âThen why?â Anakin asks plaintively, scooting forward until their knees brush. âWhy did I lose? The gym leader of Cinnabar Island told me I would win!â
Obi-Wan, quite maturely in his opinion, doesnât mention the fact that the recently defeated Palpatine probably had ulterior motives for Anakin to challenge the league too quickly and then fail. âYou werenât ready, Anakin,â he says instead, placing his hand on the otherâs knee and holding it even when the trainer jerks out of his grp. âPlease, listen. It's about sheer time, training experience. Itâs not about you or your relationship to your PokĂ©mon. You have such an amazing, strong relationship with them! They love you. Anyone could tell. And youâre not lacking in skill either. I know your mind is sharp and ready for battle.â
Anakin looks at him teary-eyed. âIâve been so worried that maybe they didnât know I loved them,â he admits in a wavering voice.
Obi-Wan canât resist moving impossibly closer to his trainer. âOh, Anakin, of course they do. PokĂ©mon donât always express or interpret love the same way humans do, but they do have their own ways of showing it.â
âLike what?â Anakin sniffles, wiping at his wet eyes. If Obi-Wan had really been listening, he would have noticed the change in his tone. As it is, he continues immediately, too focused on trying to stop his trainer from crying to think of anything else.
âA fire-type PokĂ©mon wil try to warm you if they think youâre cold, even if it means staying up all night to keep you in in its flame. And fighting-type PokĂ©mon are capable of throwing a blanket over you if they think you need to rest. Psychic-types have been known to read their trainerâs emotions and either hug them or give them distance whenever they want. Ground- and bug-type have been known to bring berries to their trainers to get them something to eat, and electric--why are you looking at me like that?â Anakinâs nascent smirk grows bigger at this interruption and he cocks his head to the side as he studies Obi-Wanâs face. âAnd what does it say about a man who spends all of his time around PokĂ©mon, that he would do those exact same things for me?â
Obi-Wan at least understands enough to scurry backwards a few paces, much to the jolteon in his lapâs distress, who jumps away with a huff.
âIâm not sure I understand,â he says quickly.
Anakin inches forward, setting the pancham, Vader, aside. He really has grown in the past few months. The loss of the League, the months apparently spent on the road, have aged him so that heâs both recognizable and something new and wild. âWhat if I knew of a man,â Anakin murmurs, falling to his palms as he closes the gap between them. âOne who warmed me when I was cold, covered me when I was tired, hugged me when I was needy, and fed me when I was hungry? What would that mean, in terms of PokĂ©mon?â
Obi-Wan swallows nervously. His entire body is bracketed by Anakin. Anakin, who seems to have discovered his most-guarded secret in their months apart. Anakin, who is hovering over him now with a dark look in his eyes. Finally something in Obi-Wan gives way. This is it. He will give Anakin everything he asks for. Everything he needs. Heâs always tried to do this exact thing.
âI suppose that would mean he loved you,â he whispers, closing his eyes so he does not have to see Anakinâs recoil, Anakinâs disgust.
Anakin hums instead. âObi-Wan,â he whispers, exhale hitting his lips. âObi-Wan, open your eyes. Thereâs nothing to be scared of, beloved. Iâm right here, Iâm not going anywhere.â
At these words, Obi-Wanâs eyes jump open of their own accord. Anakinâs lips press down onto his in a movement just as sudden. He whimpers involuntarily and reaches up to clutch at the trainerâs hair, hold him to his mouth. Just as involuntarily, his lips part and Anakinâs tongue licks around the gap before darting inside. He moans. Itâs shameful, the way he goes from scared to sucking on Anakinâs tongue as if heâll die without the warm intrusion of it.
It hardly feels like the first time theyâve kissed. It feels like theyâve been kissing for years, like Anakin knows his mouth completely and utterly.
There are so many secrets left between them. Obi-Wanâs one unopened PokĂ©ball, sitting on his belt. Anakinâs relationship with that last Gym leader. What heâs been doing these past few months. What Obi-Wan Kenobi made his fortune off of.
But none of it matters now. Not here at this moment. All that matters is showing Anakin that heâs been just as missed, just as wanted.
With that in mind, Obi-Wan rolls on top of his trainer and shoves his hands up inside Anakinâs shirt to trace along the muscles of his chest and back. This was his. His, his, his. He had come back to him. Everything else could wait.
#asks#pokemon au#the long awaited snippet!!!!#so i didn't get to all of obi-wan's pokémon teap#team**#and yes the 'unopened pokéball on his belt' refers to his being the trainer of a legendary pokémon#(zamazenta because i like that)#i really hope this is both a) readable to people who don't know shit about pokemon and#b) readable to people who do know shit about pokemon#because i am right in the middle#somehow i made this about love languages again but that's just me and my relationship with#obikin

Heres some size shifter Philza hcs, but with a twist ;)
âą Phil can size shift not only himself, but anyone he can make skin contact with. Its hard to do only them and not both himself and whoevers hand hes holding at the same time, but he can do it with practice.
âą Anyone he size shifts will reset to their original size after 24 hours, but that 24 hours wont start until he stops touching them after growing or shrinking them so if he shrinks his rowdy child and puts him away in a pocket? Theyll be tiny until he says so.
âą Phil doesnt hide his own size shifting, fully ready to grow to giant size to intimidate his enemies or threats to his family. But he doesnt tell anyone other then his family that he can do it to other people.
âą When Wilbur pressed the button, Phil shrunk him down to protect him from the blast. He tucked his son into his pocket before going to help with the wither Techno spawned. No one saw what happened so everyone assumed Wilbur died in the explosion, except for Techno and Tommy who Phil told them what he did when they asked what happened.
âą Wilbur was now being kept tiny with Phil while he tried to help his son heal from the mental damage that was the pogtopia arc, he didnt want to risk anyone finding out about Wilbur until he felt safe enough leaving Wilbur his correct size and alone so he immediately joins Techno out in the snow cabin instead of sticking around L'Manberg
âą Tommy and Techno are on rocky ground with eachother at first, but Tommy will still go to Phil when hes feeling like everythings too much and ask his dad for hand cuddles so he can feel safe. Sometimes Phil will grow himself sometimes he will shrink Tommy down, depending on who might be around.
âą When Techno isnt sleeping because hes too focused on a project, Phil will do the same he does with Tommy to force Techno to get some sleep hilding him lightly pinned in his palms
âą While Phil is trying to help Wilbur with some therapy, he will either let his son sit in his hands or on his shoulder, or he will shrink himself down to talk to him on a more equal level. Progress with Wilbur is slow, but Phil is patient.
âą Tubbo is also aware of Phils ability to shrink and grow people, but he only knows Wilbur survived and is getting therapy. Phil trusts his sudo-son Tubbo, but not President Tubbo, with the knowledge of where Wilbur is staying right now.
âą If, hypothetically, Dream found out about Phils ability to grow and shrink other people, he would absolutely try and use whatever mind control hes using on Ranboo on Phil so he can use him. But Phil doesnt have the same memory issues Ranboo has, so it would be a lot harder for Dream and a lot more fesable for Phil to break out of it when he realizes whats happening. But if Phil suddenly woke up, himself shrunk and in the pocket of a giant making it impossible to reach the pocket exit? If he could hear Dream outside the pocket taunting his family trying to rescue him? That could still happen.
âą Outside of dsmp when their all just being a normal family, Phil will abuse his size shifting a lot more without the drama and constant threats in the way.
âą He will sit on his sons heads and pester them when they arent doing something like taking care of themselves. He will bite them if they try and take him off.
âą When working on a build, he will grow giant so he can put them together like working on a lego set. If any of his kids get too close for his comfort, he will scoop them up and put them in a pocket or under his hat so he can keep working without looking out for them.
âą He will shrink any of the kids when they ask because its usually for cuddles, but hes a lot more hesitent to grow them. Their regular home is far out from any prying eyes but they arent used to being giant and could cause some damage by accident.
âą Phil will often shrink down when hes got a meal or drink he really loves so there will be more of it to enjoy
âą If they are out in the wild on an adventure, Phil always grows big before they go to sleep and keep his boys tucked against his chest so he knows theyre safe without someone having to stay awake and stand guard while camping.
Enjoy!! â€â€â€â€â€
Djwjxnwn yes yes yes, Iâm a sucker for size shifter Phil
I really love the idea of him just having tiny Wilbur when everyone else thinks heâs dead. Everyone else on the server has moved on and accepted his death, meanwhile Phil just wants his son to get help. And I bet that would cause a lot of fights between Wilbur and Phil since Wil just wanted to be killed not shrunk.
(Also protective Phil holding his sons is all I need in life :â] )

@octorocktopus fuck yeah!!!
so its a dnd au. well. more accurately a baldur's gate 3 au kinda because Thats My Hyperfixation. So spoilers for that. There's a thing you learn about lateish game mixed with a healthy dose of my theory about it
Prince is our mc-well, one of 2. A elf bard from the city of Baldur's Gate and a certified Little Shit. Essentially, as an elf of high standard, Prince was expected to be prim and proper all of the time. When Prince was captured by the Mindflayer's ship (and when they escaped), they channeled their chaotic child side that was suppressed for 100 years (as they are 113, and elves reach adulthood at age 100). They knew magic from training and channeled it into becoming a bard- along with their violin skills.
Avi is our other mc. A tiefling from a small town that had been burned to the ground- he swore an oath of vengeance to find those who had destroyed it and enact revenge- while protecting those who need it along the way. He's a bit of a hero to the survivors of the fire- as he did his best to help them set up a camp. But again- stolen by the Mindflayers.
They both had the mindflayer tadpole crawl into them- and both survived the ship crash, found each other, and decided to travel together.
When the powers the tadpole gave them fully awoken, it bestowed them with a Guardian- who they believed to be their loved ones. Well- Avi believed it to be Skull, and trusted him instantly, using the tadpole powers to strengthen it and control it. While Prince knew it wasn't Emperor- he's the closest thing Prince had to a loved one, but even he's an asshole. So Prince never used their powers when it could be avoided.
So- and here's the massive spoilers part- The Guardian turns out to be a rouge Mindflayer known as The Emperor. Now even I don't know if his motives are good or bad- every site ive read about this wont say shit if he is or not- but in this, he's bad. He almost gets Avi to turn into a mindflayer- but he meets Skull before that could happen.
His meeting with Skull- a half-elf who studies the mindflayers- makes Avi realize that the Skull he's been talking to in his dreams isn't him. So he gets that damned thing out of him before it can do too much more. And luckily he's all good now!
Anyways. Skull comes along the party (which also consists of canon bg3 characters but shush this is a Coroika Post) and aviskull adopt prince.
Anyways. Funny fact.
Prince's vicious mockery stems from not only insults, but from being chaotic as shit. The sheer shock of this 4"9 elf who looks like they dont have it in them to hurt a fly, yelling "FUCK YOU ASSHAT" at the top of their lungs is enough to do psychic damage, the magic of the spell aside
hey i have a silly coroika au who wants to hear it

Caught Pt. 2 - JJ Maybanks
Caught Pt. 2 â JJ Maybanks
Word Count: 1952
MASTERLIST
JJâs movements stop at the sound of his full name. No one used his full name. JJ looked back down at her. âI thought you said he wasnât getting home until tonight.â He spoke while pulling at of her causing you hiss at the over stimulation. âI thought he wasnât, he said he had to work and then he was going to Sarahâs.â Y/N spoke trying to find your underwear JJ had thrown across the room, âwhere did you throw my underwear?â She whispered as if they werenât already caught. JJ tossed her a new pair out of her dresser along with some shirts and his t shirt.
Once the two of them were dressed JJ reached for the door knob. âNow or neverâ he chuckled to small girl behind him. What he couldnât see was the anxiety rushing through her. Nether had ever talked about what it was they were doing. Nether confirming whether they were together or not. They had been hooking up for a couple of months now but that was it ever was. It her Y/N every time he came over, would sleep with her and then just leave. She would never tell JJ but it always made her feel worthless, like she was nothing more then the tourons he would normally hook up with.
What she didnât know was that JJ was head over heels in love with her. When the two of them started hooking up, he stopped meeting up with tourons. he didnât realize he was in love with her until after their first time. For her to trust him that much meant something to him. When the two of them were together everything was different. It was like he could finally something good in his life. He wanted to keep this to himself for the fear that she might slip away form him if everyone knew.
The two of them walk out of her room and down the hallways. The floor boards creaking beneath the weight of their feet. The floor had been making the same sound earlier, expect the young couple were eager for what awaited them then, not so much now. Y/N was practicing her speech repeatedly in her head. She could feel the anxiety bubbling in her chest and she went to grab JJâs hand for comfort to find him already reaching out for hers.
The two made it into the kitchen to find John B taking a very large shot of whiskey before glaring at the both of them. He scowled at them holding hands, and Y/N could already tell he wasnât taking this very well. She was the first to break the ice, speaking in calm voice, âwe never meant for you to find out this way.â John B just raised his hand to cut her off, looking over at who he thought was his best friend. Now he was questioning it, John B trust JJ with his life, and especially his little sister, never did he think he would cross this line. âHow could you do this?â He asked the blonde, âIâm sorry, but I love your sister John B.â JJ spoke up and you gasped.
Nether of you had said those three words in the 3 months youâd been hooking up, and you had wondered if JJ was feeling the way you had. JJ took another deep breath before speaking again, âI know in my head that itâs wrong. Sheâs your little sister and Iâve known her since she was a little girl, but she makes me feel things I donât always understand, but theyâre good things JB. When I see her happy and smiling, she makes my day just a bit better. When she says something stupid and then starts to laugh, I realize that I want to hear that laugh everyday. And itâs killing me because sheâs your sister man, I didnât mean for it to be her, but it is and I canât say that Iâm sorry about the way I feel.â JJ pleaded with the brunette, hoping he could hear the truth in his words.
The two men looked between each other almost having and internal conversation that Y/N had to witness. John B was trying to see everything with reason, but Y/N noticed how red his face was getting, she was also keeping an eye out for the tell tale signs of his hidden anger. She squeezed JJâs hand to acknowledge she heard every word he said, silently encouraging him to continue.
He was about to speak again when John Bâs fist connected to his face causing JJ to let go of Y/N hand and stumble back words cursing. âJohn B!â Y/N exclaimed rushing over to JJ, âare you crazyâ She hollered at him. JJ pushed her out of the way before taking a swing at John B, pushing him into the wall. Before she knew it the two boys were fighting on the floor. At one point JJ was on top landing a punch to John B., and John B. would tackle him down to the ground. She had seen the two boys fight before, but nothing like this before.
She was lucky that Pope and Kie had decided to stop by and could hear the yelling from the driveway. Pope moved Y/N out of the way, and pried JJ from John Bâs death grip, âhey-hey, let go man! What the hell is going on here?â He shouted at them, and all three of you shared the same look. She stood in between the two boys, John B was fuming his face red and contoured to anger. JJ looked like he was on high alert, not sure if his friend was going to take another swing at him. âOh yeah JJ, go a head. Tell them how I just caught you sleeping with my sister.â John B spoke in a matter of fact tone, and then stomped out the door slamming it behind. The loud bang made Y/N flinch and heart drop to the bottom of the floor. âYou what?â Kie was the first to speak but she wasnât surprised. She and Sarah had their supposition about the two of you.
She pushed past Kie to follow John B outside ignoring the protest from their friends to give him some space. âJohn B wait. Just let me ex-.â She tried to speak before he cut you off. âThereâs nothing to explain Y/N! I know what I saw.â He hollered at the younger girl. JJ was coming up behind him. âSheâs not ready for this and you know that. You are not going to break her like you do every other girl on this island. She might tell you that it wont bother her, but it will. When you break her heart, you will break her.â John B yelled at JJ.
It was like the two boys were talking about something else. Y/N really didnât understand what John B was saying but JJ knew. John B had confided in him multiple times about how losing your dad had hurt you. How not having a mother hurt you, and how he was scared that when you found love, that it might not be requited and he wanted to keep you from that hurt. It was a big reason JJ started hanging out with the younger girl more. He wanted to help his friend keep an eye on you and at first he thought it was because he loved her like a sister but he soon discovered that wasnât what was going on. He fell in love with her like a lover, there wasnât a time he didnât want to be around her. âIâm not going to hurt her. Not because sheâs your sister but because I love her. I donât know what I would do without her man. She makes everything so much better and Iâm not really sure why. Maybe itâs because sheâs always so calm, or maybe sheâs got a great sense of humor, hell man I donât know. I do know when I try and think about how much I love her it scares me. It scares the living shit out of me that one day she might leave. So maybe your worried about her, but I donât think you need to worry about your sister man, I think you need to worry about me. Because if she leaves me John B. I know I wonât survive without her.â He took a deep breath looking at his friend.
All five people were silent. Everyone taking in the words that JJ just spoke. It was one of the few times JJ had an outburst of emotion like that, and the first time heâs ever had that kind of emotion towards a girl. âIâm sorry that it was your sister man, but Iâm not sorry about the way I feel about her.â JJ almost whispered like he didnât want anyone to know what he was saying. Y/N could have sworn her heart dropped at hearing those words. She always loved JJ, and just assumed that it was a puppy love crush, she would move on sooner or later, but she never did. Y/N kept looking between the two boys, waiting for one of them to speak. âI donât need your permission JB. Donât let this get between our friendship.â The younger girl spoke up.
John B thought over all his options. His sister was right, this could potentially ruin not only his friendship with JJ but his relationship with his younger sister. He had noticed the change in her behaviour lately. She wasnât always moping around the house depressed and sad like normal. She had a little of her normal lovable attitude back thanks to JJ. âOkay but no more sleeping in the same bed. And no PDA, I donât want to see you macking on my little sister.â Both Y/N and JJ let out a breath of relief looking at each other. Both you and JJ giggled to each other already excited to break John Bâs rules.
JJ motioned for you to follow him to the end of the dock were things were a bit more private. The two of you walked awkwardly together slightly bumping shoulders. You both sat on the rale of the dock looking into the water not speaking to each other. âI meant what I said Y/N.â JJ spoke but you didnïżœïżœt look over. JJ admired the way you looked in the sunset. The colors compliment your skin tone that was just starting to tan in the spring heat. The way your hair moved in the breeze that had picked up. âI know.â The young girl spoke and JJ started to panic. Maybe she didnât feel the same way for him as he did for her. Maybe he just completely embarrassed himself in front of their friends for feelings that she might not even have.
âI love you too JJ. I always have. I thought you were just with me for the sex.â She spoke, and JJ cringed at the reputation he had. JJ took her hands in his and she looked at him, ânever once was this ever just âsexâ. I fell for you so hard, and I donât think I want to see you with anyone else.â He spoke in a serious tone. He moved a little closer to her, putting his hands under her chin to lift her face towards his. Their faces were inches apart when Y/N closed her eyes waiting for the kiss to come, âJohn B. said no PDA.â JJ whispered to her. âOh to hell with John B.â She spoke pulling him in for a deep kiss.
