Hey so I saw on his Wikipedia page that A. Alastor is aroace and a sex symbol at the same time and B. there are two separate webcomics with him in it that are almost impossible to find online, also C. apparently Mimzy is in love with him and D. the old webcomic had him bound by this evil cloud lady with an apple sceptre, and Lucifer has one of those in the show, so I’m thinking what if she still exists in canon and she’s E. Eve???

Hi! I'm rather new in the whole Hellaverse fandom as a whole (since 2021) so my knowledge is limited but I'll reply with the best of my ability

A. Yes, Alastor is a canon aroace character. This doesn't make him unable to be a "sex symbol" haha. As an aroace myself I'm very glad it has been officially stated, even tho I do like some fun crack ships with him when they're not too out of character.

B. There's only one official webcomic made about Alastor, "A day in the afterlife" you can easily find it on paranoid DJ's YouTube channel, he made an awesome dub and sound design. Any other webcomics you may have found are probably fan made and headcanons :)

C. From what I gathered, Alastor is an old OC of Viv, and he went through different changes. For a time I think he and Mimizy were endgame at some point. But it's not canon anymore. Idk if Mimzy still have the hots for him tho.

D. I am not aware of this webcomic and I don't know if it's an official one. Maybe it's a fan made and then everything in it are just headcanons! :)

The reason why Buck was single in the first place was because Natalia's actress didn't want to return, right?

So they were like "Hey, Buck's single, let's bring Lucy back" but the actress declined

So they brought in Lou as Tommy and instead of even considering pairing him with Buck their first thought was to pair him with EDDIE??

But then they realized Eddie had a gf and they couldn't end Eddie's relationship with Marisol as well bc it would be weird to break off both of those relationships at the same time

So they looked at Buck (who was the reason they were gonna bring in a pilot as a love interest IN THE FIRST PLACE) and were like "oh yeah he's single and I guess it kinda makes sense"???

And they asked Oliver and he was like "FUCKING FINALLY" and called Lou to talk about how to go about this

Rivertumblr!! I’d love some help with an essay I’m writing!! I’ve procrastinated in making this post so this is a very timely matter—please spread this post!

I’m writing a final essay for one of my classes on Riverdale and queerness, specifically focusing on Archie, Jughead, and Kevin; and the concept of the teen drama and how Riverdale interacts with it and elevates the queerness already thoroughly essential in the genre due to the number of teen dramas with queer creators. If I had the pages, I’d be writing about Cheryl, Veronica, Toni, and Betty too and probably Reggie and the rest but as it is it’s a 15 to 20 page paper so my grand thesis on Riverdale will have to wait. I’m focusing on Archie as the center of the subtextual queerness of the show and Jughead as a self-hating, homophobic queer, and how he polices queerness in Riverdale through his control of the story. I’m focusing on Kevin as a parody and criticism of the gay best friend character and how far it is from a satisfactory form of representation.

With scholarly articles or sources of any kind on Riverdale and particularly its queerness being so absolutely nonexistent, but seeing as you all have formed so much of my view of the show and put things into words much better than I in terms of analysis; that is, seeing as you all are doing such high quality analysis on here, I would like to use you, Riverdale bloggers, as sources.
