LITERALLY DOESN'T SAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR THE WHOLE DAY AND IT MAKES YOU KINDA MAD
you ignore him and he feels bad but he's gotta go through with his plan
it's around night time now like 9pm and riki is like "let's go out"
and you're like okay maybe, maybe he's just been waiting
he takes you to one of your favorite restaurants, but why was it dark inside?
when you walk inside every shouts happy birthday and riki kisses you and apologizes
literally looks at you with such sincerity and he's like "i'm sorry babe, but if i didn't ignore your birthday i would've spilled"
pulls out a gift from the inside of his pocket and hands it to you
literally the prettiest necklace /or bracelet
literally took like like 2 months to pick it because he couldn't decide which one you'd like more
ends the way with the two of you guys in bed watching your favorite movies
being cuddled up with riki >>>

I swear I ain’t in it for the money, but I can’t stop thinking about sugar daddy shoto. Maybe he sweeps a cute little college kid or barista of their feet, just something fun and casual. But this man starts falling harder, needing a way to lock them down to him. Money isn’t quite cutting it anymore, so he decides fucking a baby into her would do the trick. Shoto would push her down into the mattress, large frame twisting her into a sweet mating press. This way they could stay together forever and Shoto would have absolutely no problem providing for his sweet family <3
but fr tho I feel like Shouto is NOT the type for kids.
Mans will tolerate them when they babble or wave at him, but he very actively Does Not Want them.
Always uses condoms, and even though he’ll threaten not to, it’s never a legit thought in his mind to cum inside. Shouto doesn’t want to be a dad.
-----
You’ll be sittin on a park bench, fading sunset dark and pretty in front of you yet all you can do is cry. There’s not really any people around so it’s not like you’re bothering anyone - you hadn’t wanted to cry in your shabby apartment (half the cause of your worries) just in case you received a noise complaint.
“Are you alright?”
A somber, smooth voice is heard. You’re swiping at your tears quickly as you look up, trying to laugh off your state of distress. “Oh, haha, yeah I’m fine. Thanks for asking.” It’s hard to smile with your puffy cheeks and red-rimmed eyes.
The man in front of you frowns, hands in his coat pockets, scarf draped around his neck. “You don’t look fine. Mind if I sit?”
He’s already claiming the spot next to you on the bench before you can say a word, turning to you with a passive expression. “Why are you crying?”
And that’s all it takes to have you breaking down all over again, tears streaming down your face. Just one person offering to listen to the heavy burden you have to bear.
‘’M sor-sorry...” You sob, wiping at your eyes with frigid fingers, successful in doing nothing more but smearing tears around your face.
“Here.” The man’s taking off his scarf, gloved hands offering it you.
“I ca-can’t use your sc-scarf sir.” But he’s insistent, pressing it into your hands up by your face.
“I’ll just get another one. Keep it, you’re in need of it more than I am.”
The kindness makes another fresh bout of tears roll down your cheeks, but this time you're able to dab them away with soft fabric as you sniffle.
It takes a moment for you to calm yourself. When you do, you can finally engage in conversation with the man.
You tell him about your job hours getting cut, how you’ve been turned down or ignored by every single place you’ve applied at for a second job. How you’re barely affording to wash your clothes - you have to hang them or drape them across things in your apartment because you don’t have the money to pay for a dryer cycle.
And to top it all off, you’re still short on rent, despite how you scrimped and saved and even forced yourself not to buy groceries this week - you’ve gone hungry for the past three days.
“You haven’t eaten?”
You glance up at the man and his incredulous expression, shaking your head. “I’ve been trying to save money, I thought I could afford my rent if-”
“What kind of food do you like?” The man is pulling out his phone, swiping and tapping immediately.
“Thank you, but I’m not-” looking for charity is what you want to say. Plus, you shouldn’t accept favors from strange men.
But the handsome man is waving you silent. “I’m cold, plus I’d like to grab a bite to eat before I head home. I don’t like eating alone though, you’d honestly be doing me a favor.”
You take a moment to process. Is he telling the truth? He sounds like an honest guy.
“Seems like the only place open around here is “Joe’s 24 hour Diner”.... You mind burgers?”
So that's how you end up in a booth opposite the man (”Shouto” he had told you as you both headed to the diner), munching away at warm food. It tastes so good, you hardly have time to worry about the man watching you as he eats.
You’d been shocked at his looks the moment you’d seen him in the light of the diner. Pretty two-toned hair, different colored eyes, perfect skin, expensive clothes. Why was he even talking to you? It’s obvious the two of you led very different lives.
“How does everything taste?”
“Delicious.” Is your response, and Shouto seems pleased, nodding before taking another bite of his meal.
Maybe it’s stupid... but you feel weirdly safe with this man. He doesn’t seem to bear any ill-intent towards you, nor has he made any comments about your body or let his hands or eyes stray. He seems like a gentleman.
Conversation flows easily between the two of you, even sharing a few chuckles at times. He’s some fancy rich businessman, you learn, and you share about your own life, laughing at the comparisons. Shouto can’t fathom growing up in a house with less than five bedrooms and a personal servant.
He asks for your number, and you’re hesitant in giving it - he surely can’t be interested in you? But he seems so sincere, it’s hard to say no.
When the two of you part ways, Shouto gives you a wave, “Hope to see you again soon, and under better circumstances.”
“You too! And sorry for being such a mess and stopping your walk-”
Shouto shrugs, cheeks beginning to pink from the cold air as you two stand outside the diner. “You needed help. I like to assist.”
-----
The next morning you wake to find an atrociously large sum deposited in your Venmo account by none other than a Shouto Todoroki.
Immediately, you’re calling him. “It’s too much, we just met. How can you give away that much money to some low-life?”
You hear him sigh on the other end of the phone. “You’re obviously struggling. I was wondering what your hours are this week, perhaps we could talk about this over dinner? Or lunch, if that fits better with your schedule. I’m flexible.”
It’s a few days later, days spent questioning yourself, questioning his intentions, before you see him again, both of you deciding to meet for lunch to further discuss... whatever had just happened.
“Was what I gave you adequate to cover your rent?” Are the first words out of Shouto’s mouth after you greet each other.
“Yeah, more than enough-” You squirm. “But I need to ask.... why?”
“Why?”
“Why me.”
“Oh.” Shouto’s expression clears. “That’s easy. I told you a few days ago - I like to assist. I’m quite lonely, and it feels nice to use my money on someone other than myself. I think providing for someone brings me... I wouldn’t quite say joy, but... contentment.”
You contemplate his answer for a moment.
“Well... you saved me with my rent, I don’t really know how to thank you.”
The man leans forward. “Well.... I know it might be a bit sudden, but how would you feel accepting me as a.... benefactor of sorts?”
“You mean like a sugar daddy?” Is your immediate, blurted response. You want to slap yourself for speaking before you have the chance to think about your words, but luckily Shouto just lets out a light laugh.
“If you’d like to call it that. I’m willing to provide financial assistance for you, in exchange for companionship, if you’re willing to give it.”
Your face heats up as you drop your eyes, fidgeting nervously in your seat. “I don’t feel comfortable with a... a sexual relationshi-”
“That’s perfectly acceptable.” Shouto cuts you off before you can continue. “I wasn’t trying to insinuate a contract of that nature. I’m thinking more along the lines of accompanying me at meals, sharing experiences with me, providing company and friendship to a lonely man. If it seems that we’d like to progress further than that after we get to know each other, well, that will be addressed then. For now-” Shouto meets your eye, dipping his head a smidgeon so he can look at you directly. “All I ask for is a simple, non-intimate bond between two people.”
This is crazy.
And yet you accept.
The situation may be wild, and completely absurd, but you’d be a fool not to say yes.
Shouto is charming and handsome, respectful, courteous - you could go on and on about his positive qualities. He just seems like a sad, lonesome man swallowed by work and responsibilities, too stressed and busy to put the effort into making friends the conventional way.
-----
Months pass by.
You’re eating at every meal, sated and never going hungry. You’re able to move into a new place, one that doesn’t smell like cigarettes and sits right next to a railroad.
Clothes aren’t a worry anymore, you have your own washer and dryer in your new apartment (Shouto offered to buy you a house, or a penthouse at the least, but you couldn’t justify it to yourself). You’re able to afford new things, and pretty dresses, shoes that are comfortable and fashionable and that fit.
You no longer have to wear clothes down until they have holes in them. You’re able to go to the doctor’s when you feel sick, able to pay for health insurance.
Life is good.
Shouto is a personable man, serious, but he can be rather funny and even crude at times.
The doubt and thoughts of “Why is he doing this for me?” and “I’m not good enough for this.” plague you, but Shouto always seems to catch on, reassuring you that you’re exactly what he needs - a friend.
And you’re more than happy to be that.
You think sometimes, that even if he wasn’t paying you, you’d still like to be friends with Shouto Todoroki.
Until he starts acting weird.
“You should just stay at my place. I have more than enough room,, it’d be easier for both our schedules. We’d get to see each other more often.”
“Uhm...” You don’t really know what to say. You like your freedom, and having your own place where you can walk around in your (expensive) underwear without being bothered.
“I think it’d be nice, don’t you? We could have breakfast every morning, you wouldn’t have to worry about traveling to and fro, we could spend more time together. We don’t see each other nearly enough.”
He’s pushing, insistent. How are you supposed to tell him no? He’s paying for your entire life. Plus, it wouldn’t be that bad to actually live with him. Shouto’s an amicable man.
So you move in.
“I bought you a few things, they’re on your bed.”
Shouto’s striding into the kitchen where you’re making coffee, buttoning up his shirt as he comes closer. You’ve found that the man likes to sleep in nothing but boxers, shrieking and flushing an embarrassing shade the first time he’d come to wake you up with a sweet “welcome” breakfast in bed.
It’s taken a while to adjust, but you finally feel that you’re fully settled in.
“Oh, you really don’t ha-”
“I wanted to. I went through your closet - your clothes are nice, but your underwear seemed to be lacking.” He’s so matter-of-fact.
All you can do is stare at the back of his head.
“Could you pass me a spoon please?”
-----
Shouto had splurged on expensive, fancy lingerie.
At least eight different sets were laid out on your bed. It was overwhelming. It also felt.... a bit intrusive? They were all in your size, in a complementary color for your skin tone.
Weird.
Not as weird as the onset of Shouto’s casual touches.
You’d be reading, or drinking tea and watching cars race by on the street so far below, and Shouto would come up behind you, caress your sides before intertwining his fingers with yours on one hand. He did it as if it was a normal thing, but it felt anything but normal.
Or you’d be on the couch together, and Shouto would shuffle closer until his large body was pressed to yours, almost curled around you. The faux-cuddling was a bit more off putting. How do you tell him no?
The touches became more and more intimate, Shouto’s gifts more and more frequent until you weren’t even spending a penny, the man taking care of everything.
The arrangement was beginning to make you uncomfortable.
Shouto’s bi-colored eyes seemed to always be on you, tracing the shape of your body, watching you move, or breath, or sit. It was distracting, and you felt bad for feeling this way towards the man who’d pulled you out of poverty, but it was so unnerving.
He seemed to notice.
“You’ve been so stressed these past few days. Is something wrong?” Shouto’s rubbing a hand into your shoulder, hovering over you at the dinner table.
“No?” Is all you can manage, wiping your hands on your napkin as you finish your food.
Shouto frowns. With a sigh, his hand drops from your shoulder and the man leaves your side, heads toward the kitchen.
You clear your plate from the table, following after him so you can wash it and put it in the dishwasher before you head off to get ready for bed.
But Shouto is rummaging in a cupboard, pulling down two wine glasses to accompany the bottle of wine that’s standing proud on the island. It’s your favorite, a sweet wine that Shouto knows you like, always brings it out when he decides to drink whisky or bourbon after dinner.
He pops the cork and pours you a glass while you finish with your dishes, handing you the glass when you turn away from the sink, pressing it into your hands. “Let’s relax a little bit, it’ll be good for both of us.”
You’re fine with that, knowing that a little wine won’t hurt you, especially when it’s of such fine quality. You’d never dreamed that you’d be able to taste such richness in your lifetime, spend frivolous amounts of money on wine and fine eateries. Yet here you are.
Shouto pours himself a glass, barely a sip filling the bottom. The man raises it to his lips and takes a swig, grimacing a bit in his flat, unexpressive way. You giggle a little.
“Too sweet?’
The man nods, setting the glass back down. “I’m not entirely sure how you can stand to stomach it. But if it makes you happy-” He shrugs, before pulling on of the bar-stools out from under the island so he can sit facing you, long legs stretching out before him.
You look at him, and he looks at you, and then you take another sip of wine to avoid the awkwardness.
“You’re distancing yourself from me.”
The accusation is quiet, Shouto’s eyes focused on your fingers wrapped around the stem of the glass.
He’s always been straightforward with his words. “Is there a reason you keep drawing away?”
The wine disappears from your glass, sliding down your throat and settling in your stomach. You fill your glass again before speaking, struggling to find the right words without upsetting your... benefactor.
“Well, Shouto... I don’t really know how to...” You trail off, hoping Shouto will say something, change the subject, say it’s alright and move on to something else.
But the man stays silent, eyes appraising you.
Taking a deep breath, and another gulp of sweetness, you try again.
“Sometimes the closeness... like, physical closeness? Makes me, well, uncomfortable.”
Hopefully, that would satisfy his curiosity for now. That wasn’t the only reason you’d been avoiding Shouto seeming distant, but you didn’t think sharing the others would result in anything good.
Said man accepted your response, dropping his eyes to his lap as he mulled it over. More wine was consumed, glass re-filled. You felt nervous.
“You’re saying that my touch isn’t something you’d prefer.”
Biting your lip, you soften at his confused expression, at the hint of sadness swimming behind his eyes. “Kind of. I don’t mind you Shouto, you’re really kind, and you’re good company, and a wonderful friend. I just don’t think the.... the intimacy is for me.”
Shouto raises his head, stares at you with those pretty eyes, lips parted as he comes to terms with your words.
“It sounds like you don’t trust me. I would never hurt you, you know this.”
You scramble to assure him. “I do! I do trust you, and I know you wouldn’t.” (at least you hoped) “But I guess I just... Coming into this agreement I wasn’t ready for that type of... thing. I don’t know if I ever will be.”
The man rises, shakes his head as he steps closer to you. “Don’t worry, I remember our first conversation about that aspect. I see that for you, that type of relationship would only begin after you really cared for the other person, trusted and wanted to see them happy, am I correct?”
“Oh, Shouto-” You rush. “No, I care for you, and I trust you, and of course I want to see you happy. I think it’s just, y’know, my last relationship like that went really bad, and it sucked. I don’t want to go through that again.”
Shouto nods, understanding. “I see. You don’t have to worry about any of that with me then.”
A smile crosses your face, and you feel relived that he accepted your rejection with grace and understanding instead of violence or anger. “Thank you, it means a lot to me.”
The mood of the room shifted, from tense and uncomfortable, to easy and light, and you poured another glass of wine, laughing a little at how worried you were about the conversation with Shouto, only for it all to turn out fine.
“I’m going to go drink some of the liquor that’s kept in my room. I could mix a few drinks for you to try, you might like how sweet they are. I know hard alcohol isn’t quite your thing.”
You beam a smile, nodding your head eagerly. Before, you’d feel apprehensive about going into his room with him to drink alcohol. But with the conversation the two of you just had, you knew - things would be fine.
-----
The room was spinning and you felt giddy and light. You were definitely tipsy.
“You can lay down on my bed, you’re getting wobbly on your feet.” Shouto had offered, and you’d gladly accepted, flopping down onto his comfy bedspread with a laugh at how the motion made butterflies rise in your tummy.
Shouto leaned against his dresser, swirling whiskey in his glass as he watched you, a half-smile across his face. You smiled back, before closing your eyes, a little bit tired as you realized that you might be a bit more than just tipsy.
Shouto had mixed quite a few drinks for you, and you’d drank each one eagerly, impressed with how little alcohol you could taste in each one. You don’t remember how many you had, but it didn’t really matter.
The next thing you know, hands are on your waist, scooting you further up the bed so your legs no longer hang off the edge. Cracking open an eye, you’re met with the visage of red-and-white, eyes soft and warm as they regard you, Shouto’s face tinged a bit pink from the few drinks he had consumed. The man had never been too good at holding his alcohol.
When those hands started to slip beneath your shirt, you wiggled like a little worm, not really comprehending the situation. Maybe it was a dream.
Your shirt was discarded, then your pants. It felt much more comfortable now, and you mumbled a “thanks” to the man helping you settle for bed. He was so nice, Shouto took such good care of you. You still kind of couldn’t believe the turn your life had taken with him, the good luck pushed into your path.
Someone was kissing you.
With a grunt of surprise, you kissed them back, meeting their feverish pace and trying to keep up, soft lips puckering and pushing against your own with intent. Kissing felt good. You liked kissing.
Then a hand was cupping your face, stroking tenderly over your cheek before it began sliding down, down your neck, into the valley between your breasts, trailing over your bra. It felt funny.
Pushing back for air, you gasped when the hand on your chest started squeezing at you, eyes flying open with the startling, sudden sensation.
Shouto was hovering over you, lips puffy, panting as he stared at you with lusty eyes, an uncharacteristic look on his face. This... this wasn’t supposed to be like this. You knew. Hadn’t the two of you just talked about something... important? Was it important?
You didn’t feel panic until a hand cupped your sex, feeling your skin through your panties.
This wasn’t right.
Alarm bells were ringing, dull and far away, but you didn’t think that Shouto should be touching you in such a way. you should be going to bed.
“Mm, Sho, can you stop?” But your words felt funny on your tongue, and Shouto didn’t stop. Maybe he didn’t hear you.
His hair tickled your chin as the man bent to mouth at your tits, pulling the cups of your bra underneath them so he could feel your hot skin, let his saliva drag slick and wet against your chest.
Your hands instinctively rooted themselves in his hair as you gasped again, not expecting such a move, tugging lightly at his head to pull him up. Shouto just groaned, teething gently at your breasts and not moving an inch. His hips were grinding against the bed though, as he stood between your spread legs.
Before you knew it, your panties were gone, bra clumsily unclasped and discarded, and you were completely bare. Shouto was undressing before you, struggling with the buttons on his shirt before giving up, easily ripping the fabric of his body with one tug, grumbling.
You didn’t feel so tipsy anymore.
“Shouto, what’re we doing? We shouldn’t be doing this, we need to stop-”
“Stay down.” Was his firm command, a hand splayed across your naked chest and pushing you back into the mattress as you tried to sit up. It made you breathless, the growl in his voice, the dominance emanating from the man. You stayed still.
“This’s gonna make us a stronger couple.” The man slurred, eyes dark and hands wandering, effortlessly keeping you pinned against the bed as he ground his hips forward against the edge. You were getting scared.
“Wait-”
You fell silent as one hand pushed down his pants, his underwear going with them, pink cock bobbing free. He was so pretty down there, and it made sense, all of him was pretty, but you suddenly realized the weight of the situation, what was happening.
“Shouto, no, oh my god. We gotta stop right now, we’re drunk, we’re-we’re-”
“Don’t care. Not gonna let you hide away from me this time.” Shouto shook his head, taking his cock in one hand and giving it a long, slow pump, flushed tip weeping precum and wetting his hand.
“No, no, this is wrong. I don’t want this, I could get pregnant!” You cried, beginning to panic for real, pushing against the one strong hand anchoring you to the bed.
Shouto just chuckled, letting go of his cock to crowd against you, getting up in your face to press a wet finger to your lips, the salty taste of his precum threatening to slip into your mouth unless you kept it shut. “Shhh, shh. If you stay nice and still, if you do what I say, I’ll use a condom.”
You couldn’t believe your ears.
“You’re gonna listen to me, you always do.” The man nodded to himself, once again dragging his cock against the bed between your legs, as if he couldn’t stop himself. “Or else I’ll fuck you raw.” The finger was pulled from your lips, only to be wagged teasingly in your face.
You couldn’t believe how he was acting.
“Be nice.”
Shouto tapped your nose with a neatly manicured finger, before groaning as he heaved himself upright, red cock bobbing against his stomach, desperate for attention. The man gave you a look, as if to say “don’t move” before he took his hands off you, heading for his dresser.
Once you saw him pulling out a strip of condoms, you were on your feet, stumbling toward the door.
Although panic had sobered you somewhat, you were still struggling with the effects of the alcohol, so your reaction time was maddeningly slow. Slow enough that you weren’t able to truly fight against Shouto when he grabbed you from behind toned arms wrapping around your middle and heaving you into the air, only to throw you back on his bed.
You were almost sick on the bedspread, world spinning and stomach protesting, but you were able to calm yourself.
But then Shouto was on you, flipping you onto your back, a soft hand pressing against your throat threateningly.
“You want to have a baby? Want me to cum in you so you’ll get all fat with kids? Hm?” He was so intense, almost choking you, straddling your waist and keeping you pinned. It was too much
You were able to manage a tearful, desperate “No!” despite the hand around your throat, and Shouto backed off, releasing the pressure to instead stroke his hand against the sides of your neck.
“Stop acting like this, it’s the next logical step for us. You said you cared for me, wanna make me happy. This’ll make me happy. I won’t be like the last guy.”
His cock was pressed against your stomach, and you could feel it twitching. Shouto clambered off of you, letting go of your neck so he could grab the condoms he’d tossed on the bed before snatching you up.
“Do what I say and I use these.” He waved them in your face before tearing one off, beginning to open it.
You stayed still, gazing at him blearily, limbs feeling fuzzy, mind feeling the same.
The condom was rolled onto Shouto’s cock, the man spitting into his palm and giving the latex a few rubs to make it slick before reaching for you.
He dragged you to the edge of the bed - the perfect height for him to fuck you - and you didn’t fight, terrified of his threat. You couldn’t stand the thought of a baby.
(You didn’t know, but neither could he)
“Wanted to do this since I met you.” Shouto mumbled, pushing your panties to the side with a few fingers so he could guide his tip to your hole. “Want you so bad.”
You didn’t know what to think of this side of Shouto. This unreserved, uncareful, slurring mess of a man that loomed before you, gaze dark and wild, limbs everywhere as he groped and squeezed and appreciate the shape of your body.
But he must’ve gotten impatient, because then he was pushing inside.
It hurt, stinging pain rippling up your back and you keened, causing Shouto to pause. One of his hands darted down to wrap around your calf, hauling it up on the bed so he could lean forward and press it to you chest, sinking his cock a few inches deeper.
“You’re gonna take it.” He hissed before messily kissing you, pressed so close together that it was hard to breathe. “I’ll make it feel good after you do.”

the dreamies as your valentine
Your first valentine's day as a couple.
Mark `~ He was really busy and couldn't take you out. You had assured him it wasn't a big deal, but to him it was. It frustrated him how he never had a break, especially on the day he was meant to spend with you. Once you heard the sad tone on his voice through the phone, you decided to go to the studio and surprise him with lunch.
When you inevitably had to leave, he gave you the warmest hug and thanked you for making his day.
Renjun `~ He knows you love him, and you know he loves you... there's no need to make a fuss about it. At least that's what he told you. But deep down, you both knew he had a soft spot for this day, using it as an excuse to go out and spend the whole day with you.
If possible, expect him to spend the entire day clinging to you, he just wants some love!!
Jeno `~ It was your first Valentine's Day as a couple and he literally went to every single person he knew to get some advice for what to do. He wanted this day to be a happy day for the both of you and would probably freak out if something didn't go according to plan.
Picnic time!! *bonus points if you know how to bike ✋You guys would totally bike to a flower garden and find a nice spot to sit on and eat some snacks!
Haechan `~ You would rarely be by yourselves so he would dEmANd to spend the day away from everyone. You would keep it lowkey, alone on his bedroom, snuggling under the blankets and watching a random rom com.
He would probably make you watch the kissing booth lmao and you would judge the shit out of him for liking the lead couple. istg I'll never forgive him for liking that film
Jaemin `~ Leave it up to youuuuuuu baby... fr tho he would pretty much (pun intended) be up for anything.
Everything was your choice, whatever you wanted he made sure you would get. You want to stay in? He would gladly binge watch your favourite TV show with you. You want to go out shopping? He would carry all the bags for you. One thing is for sure, he would spoil the hell out of you. That's what boyfriends are for after all (his words, not mine).
Pls he would also make you pancakes for breakfast 🥺 *insert typical scene of bf cooking shirtless and you back hugging him* I- ✋ I am done
Chenle `~ He would take you out all year round, sometimes several times a week, hence why Valentine's Day wasn't really that important to him. However, if he noticed that it was a big deal for you, he would take you out to a over the top fancy restaurant that he knew you liked.
I am convinced going to new restaurants with Chenle would be exciting lmao, you guys would try new food and praise/roast the shit out of it andbdkdb
Jisung `~ Nervous boy... and tbh he would probably only remember it the day before. He feared that you expected him to take you out and buy you an expensive gift. You, however, already knowing how your boyfriend’s mind works, didn't really expect him to be too fancy about it, you just wanted to go for a walk with him and maybe grab some ice cream.
On D day, you showed up with a rose in hand, surprising Jisung as he himself had also brought you a rose. Just 2 fools on the side of the street exchanging flowers pls you're so adorable 😭😭

𝐝𝐨𝐞 𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐬 — jesse lingard
summary: jesse was afraid to lose you, but you have to reassure him that his money and fame mean nothing to you.
notes: requests are open, ask away!
for @bite-me-en-la-boca
Jesse was afraid to lose you, as simple as that. He wasn’t blind to the double takes people do when you walk past them, or the comments from men at the club when they pass. You were stunning — and Jesse knew that, along with everyone else.
Even his own friends would make little comments, obviously they knew they wouldn’t act on it, so did he, but his girlfriend was wanted by even his closest mates. It definitely made him hold onto you a little tighter. Whenever you’d visit him at training, or go to an event with him, he’d keep you close and constantly shower you in affection, so everybody knew you were his.
The Instagram comments were the worst, not only would his be littered with ‘she’s fit’ or ‘lucky man’, but yours were so vivid that you’d refuse to open them. He’d be lying if he said he didn’t scroll through them every once in a while to see what people were saying, only to return to you a while later with a heavy heart.
The whole of the UK male population were after you, which is why tonight was the worst for Jesse. You were celebrating Marcus’ birthday, and it was completely unlike him to want to go clubbing, but you both agreed anyway.
Jesse watched with a sick feeling in his stomach, almost feeling the need to grab his phone and text his best friend that he was too sick to go. And keep you at home. He knew what tonight would be like, he knew that someone would make a comment, or give you a suggestive glance, and it would ruin his night.
“How do I look?” You asked, smiling innocently up at your boyfriend. Even with heels on, he towered over you. Jesse pushed his negative thoughts to the side to compliment you.
“Wow. Where’s Y/N gone?” He asked, holding your hand and twirling you around slowly. You met his eyes once again with a pout, and Jesse kissed it away. There was never a day he didn’t compliment you on your beauty.
“Real funny. Are you ready?”
“Do I look ready?” Jesse countered, standing back from you and showing off his smart casual attire. You laughed and smoothed the fabric of his shirt down, smiling up at him. He looked back down at you with so much love in his eyes, you’d forget he was hiding his intrusive thoughts behind those eyes.
The pair of you left, getting an Uber to the club you were supposed to arrive at 20 minutes ago. Marcus was waiting inside, sitting in a booth with a few other United boys. The second Marcus spotted you, he moved out of the booth to greet you both.
“Jess,” Marcus spoke, pulling his best friend into a hug, “how’ve you been?”
Jesse just nodded, watching his attention divert from him to you. He squeezed you tightly and almost lifted you from your feet. He knew Marcus would never betray him like that, no matter how hot you were. He trusted Marcus entirely, but it was just adding fuel to the fire. Jesse felt tense from the moment he entered the club, the boys greeting you and having a laugh with you. It was off-putting, he just wanted to go home and watch your rubbish tv. He’d sit through hours of it if it meant you weren’t here getting preyed on.
Throughout the night, you’d had shot after shot, begging Jesse to dance with you an hour in. And he was keeping you close to him, eyes watching intently as you swayed your hips onto him. Your eyes were on him the entire time, not paying mind to the people around you. Jesse so badly wanted to enjoy this moment with you, but those eyes surrounding you were slowly pushing him over the edge.
“What the fuck are you staring at?” He snapped, causing a small space to form between the pair of you. You stepped back in shock, staring at your boyfriend who angrily stared at the people surrounding you.
His eyes had found yours again, but you were gone. You’d approached the booth Marcus was sitting at, wedging between him and Jadon, a frown on your face.
“What happened, Y/N?” Marcus questioned, an arm around your shoulder as you looked visibly upset. You saw Jesse sat at the bar now, head in his hands with a drink in front of him.
“He just shouted in front of everyone, it’s so embarrassing.” You stated, folding your arms and stealing a drink from the table. You didn’t know who the victim of the stolen drink was, quite frankly, you didn’t care. Jesse had bursted his anger in front of everyone, and even though it wasn’t directed at you, it still embarrassed you.
The next half hour was torture, you were slowly losing your buzz and the night was becoming boring. You were sandwiched between the two boys, and they refused to let you have any more drinks. Jesse was still sulking at the bar, but you didn’t care. You’d let him sulk there for the remainder of the evening, if need be.
“Guys, I think I might head home,” you mentioned, standing up and wiggling over the line of boys, “I’m super tired now.” You waved sweetly at Marcus, wishing him one more ‘happy birthday’ before you were leaning against the wall and waiting for your Uber.
Jesse looked back at the booth, wondering which boy had an arm around you this time, but you were gone. The space between Marcus and Jadon that you occupied had now disappeared. His eyes frantically searched the dance floor, but you were nowhere to be seen. It was only then that he started to regret shouting. He could lie and say he didn’t know what came over him, but he did know. He was jealous.
“She’s gone home.” Marcus spoke into his friend’s ear, patting him on the shoulder. It eased Jesse’s thoughts a little, but he still felt horrible. Jesse had gotten an Uber home not long after you, finding the house completely dark apart from your shared bedroom.
You were tucked into bed, Netflix in the background as you scrolled through your phone. You could see Jesse standing in the doorway, but didn’t acknowledge him as he walked in and sat on your side of the bed. His hand rested on the lump in the duvet that was your leg, waiting for you to say something. But you didn’t.
“I’m sorry.” He blurted out, his voice soft with guilt. You didn’t even react, you just kept scrolling. “Really, I am. I’m sorry for ruining your night.”
“It’s done now, you need to go to bed. You have Hope tomorrow.” You replied, a lack of emotion in your voice. He knew you loved when Hope was round, the pair of you got on immensely. But you seemed bored now. Bored of listening to him. You had gotten out of bed and left the room, wandering downstairs to distract yourself with something else.
“It’s not done, babe.” Jesse spoke, following your footsteps as you turned into the kitchen. You stood at the counter, grabbing a coffee pod from your cupboard and beginning to make yourself a coffee.
“What else do you want to say, Jesse?” You argued calmly, Jesse almost jumping at the mention of his name. It was always silly pet names, never his name. He could see by the look on your face that you were over this, you were tired, grumpy, getting slightly hungover.
“I know I should never have shouted like that, in front of everyone,” he spluttered, alcohol still in his system. His words were not stringing together very well, which presented a bad case on his behalf, “the last thing I wanted to do was hurt you because of my own insecurities.”
Jesse wasn’t the type to show his insecurities to anyone, not even you at times, but you knew they were there. He was stuck in the mindset of sweeping them away, out of sight and out of mind. You wanted to badly to help him work through them like he did with yours, but he’d never disclose what was bothering him. You turned to look at him, the argument long forgotten now as you wanted this to be the chance he finally opens up.
“What insecurities, Jess?” You wondered, slowly approaching him. Your small hands held his cheeks, you could’ve sworn you’d seen a glint in his eyes.
He shook his head, the window now closed. The opportunity for the pair of you to sit down and talk about what bothered him, it was gone. You were back to pretending not to see his tensed jaw and white knuckles from squeezing his fist together. You sat at the island in defeat, your headache prominent now.
Jesse’s hand fell upon your shoulder, your eyes meeting once again. Your face contorted as a tear fell from your eye, Jesse now going into full on panic mode. He sat beside you, pulling you into his chest and holding you close. You could hear his heart pounding in his chest, you weren’t the only one who wished he could say how he felt.
“How are we ever going to move forward together if I don’t know how you’re feeling?” You asked honestly, holding his bare arm and pulling it close to you. There would always be this barricade stopping you from moving forward, his insecurities stopping you both from being able to talk to each other.
Jesse pulled away from you, his fingers fiddling with the expensive ring on your finger. He’d gifted it to you on your two-year anniversary, it was a beautiful night. “I just get jealous. I see your Instagram comments, and mine. I see the way random men look at you on the street, in the club, in the fucking supermarket. Even the boys are always complimenting you, being touchy with you. It might sound stupid and it might seem like it’s nothing, but it makes me fucking jealous.”
“You know I’d never do that to you,” you turned to Jesse, now clutching his hand tightly, “you’re the only one I want.”
“I know that, love. I have been fucked around before, girls always go after my money and my name. You don’t even shoo these boys away. It’s like you enjoy their attention.” Jesse accused, his tone still soft with you. He never raises his voice with you, and you never have with him.
This comment hurt you, your waterline burned with tears once again, hearing your boyfriend even fathom these ideas. “I don’t pay these boys any mind. You’re the only one I want attention from, I barely give the rest of them a second glance. And I’m sorry that your friends are touchy with me, I just give them lots of hugs and squeezes because they’re your friends, I want them to like me. I know how important they are to you. So they’re important to me.”
Even though Jesse thought you liked the attention, and wanted him for his name and wealth, even though it deeply pained you for him to think these things of you, you kept it cool. He was hurting, these were his insecurities. You looked up at him, giving him your infamous doe eyes, the ones he fell for in the first place.
“If I only wanted you for your wealth and name, I wouldn’t bother with Hope. I love that girl, she’s my best friend. I’d do anything for her,” Jesse smiled at your comment, his hand smoothing over your cheek, “I wouldn’t bother with your family, I wouldn’t call them up everyday asking how they are. I wouldn’t bother with your career, making sure your training kit is washed and you have appropriate lunch.” You emphasised the word appropriate, as Jesse would sometimes leave with just one of Hope’s lunchables, or just a yoghurt.
Jesse let out a laugh, both hands now holding your face close to his. “Thank you. I’m sorry for doubting you.”
“I won’t take your name when we get married, just to prove that I’m not in it for fame and wealth,” you admitted, a smile on your face, “I don’t know how you do it if I’m honest, you can’t even walk around the shop without someone approaching you. It’d get on my nerves.”
“Of course you’re gonna take my name,” Jesse cooed, kissing the bridge of your nose and looking down at you once more, “and you better get used to it, because I’m not giving you up.” He held you tight to him, the both of you still reeking of alcohol and the coffee long forgotten.

masquerade ch.10
im back (fr this time)
“I always knew you were weird,” Akira muttered when they got onto the skydeck turned landing pad. He and Hisako had just graduated from their respective colleges and now they, Souma, and the Denmark Nakiris were gathered on top of the Copenhagen penthouse for some quality catching up. There was no doubt that the day would end in another round of shokugekis.
“Rude!” Alice pouted as she set down a large blanket and a few red Solo cups in the shade of Ryo’s new helicopter. “I just happened to buy my amazing husband a gift! Besides, he has a license now and having a charter plane is fun.”
“You talk as if your family doesn’t own three private jets,” Akira pointed out, pouring draft beer from a two-liter pitcher.
Alice waved this off with an annoyed flap of her hand. “Hayama, when are you and Hishoko gonna get married?”
“We’re twenty-two,” Hisako pointed out dully. “And don’t call me Hishoko.”
“I’m not, Hishoko. However, as the official matchmaker of the Nakiri Faction, I must insist that you get the hell on with it already.”
“Nakiri Faction?” Akira inquired.
“Yes! You’ve been an honorary member since you assisted my booth at the festival in first year.”
“You mean Jun’s—”
“And you and Hishoko are going to get married in like… two days, so she’s automatically a part of the faction as well now!”
Souma laughed as he took out a few boxes neatly packed with onigiri. “Yo, Arato, did you buy Hayama a helicopter yet?”
Hisako raised an eyebrow. “No,” she smiled with a teasing air. “But he bought us a company.”
The red-haired chef spat out his Lagunitas IPA. “What!?”
“Yeah, I bought Habui,” Akira said casually, as if he were talking about bargain eggs.
“Holy shit! Is that why you were on the front cover of Forbes!?”
“It’s been the only thing on the news for the last week, Yukihira,” he replied drily.
Alice added, “It was definitely a shock at first, though.”
True—it took her a full hour of staring at the magazine to properly process the fact that twirling his Phi Beta Kappa key around his finger and still wearing his graduation gown, the fresh Columbia graduate had dethroned the Sendawara sisters with a phrase that would become legend—“My nose can make better curry than your hands.” How he’d made that much bank as a college student was up to debate, but nobody questioned the fact that he was the new CEO of Habui.
“Tokyo will be our home base,” Hisako said, staring speculatively into her cup. “I’m starting med school at Johns Hopkins in the fall but after Innlausn opens next month Akira will probably be moving back to Japan.”
Souma’s eyes widened. “Wait! I just had an idea. Why don’t you guys stay at my place in Evanston for the startup period?”
“You’re only saying that because you want us to be indebted to you so we don’t run your ass out of Illinois,” Akira scoffed.
“Cruel,” Souma retorted, feigning hurt. “I’m just being nice. Right, Arato?”
“I mean, I’ll take you up on it,” Hisako grinned, and she and Souma exchanged a fist bump. “We owe you one.”
“No, we do not! Don’t say things like that to him!”
Alice smirked at this. “Oh, yeah? You only got your Chicago floorspace because Yukihira’s journalist girlfriend pulled strings with the contractors.” She paused for a second, then whirled on Souma. “By the way, Yukihira. You’re getting pretty serious with Erina again, aren’t you? What a fuckboy. Two girls at once?”
A vein pulsed in Souma’s temple. “Oh, shut the fuck up. I’m single and Erina doesn’t like me like that anymore.”
“Baseless assumption!” Ryo bellowed.
They all laughed at this — the story of the spontaneous kiss after Origin’s opening night had circulated among the friend group and now they were placing bets as to when the former first and second seats of the Elite Ten would finally quit beating around the damn bush. Souma, who had been too embarrassed to call Erina since the debut, had chosen to aggressively not participate.
Within moments, they were all rolling up their sleeves and getting their hair out of the way to crack down on each other in a shokugeki themed “obscenely expensive”. They had just raided Alice and Ryo’s apartment-sized kitchen, making vulgar comments on how Akira had only bought Habui because he was still salty about Sendawara Natsume hitting on him during the Elections and talking general shit like they hadn’t already earned each other’s highest respect, when Hisako’s phone rang.
Everyone leaned over the doctor-restaurateur’s shoulder to see just who the hell would dare interrupt their shokugeki episode.
Incoming FaceTime call from: Nakiri Erina
Before Hisako could even answer the call, Souma dropped his knife and bolted for the door. His flight was cut short by Ryo, who grabbed his collar and yanked him backwards. “The fuck you going?”
“F-finland,” Souma squeaked, his arms and legs in frantic motion.
“Oh no you are not,” Akira snapped, shoving Souma back over to Hisako, who was greeting Erina over FT. “Take responsibility for your dumbassery.”
The blonde chef dropped her phone when Souma entered the frame. “Y-yukihira!?”
“Um… yo…? Nakiri? Sup?”
Erina was already blushing, but she managed to say, “Nothing much. You?”
Hisako passed the phone to Souma with an expression of amusement, who nervously combed his fingers through his hair and started moving around to find better lighting. “I’m uh… not doing anything either. Where you at?”
“I’m in Tokyo,” Erina said. “At dinner with—”
“Yukihira!” Asahi grinned, popping into view.
Erina looked a little disgruntled as the two proceeded to treat each other like the brothers-in-law they were probably going to be (hahah the foreshadowing).
The rest of the Nakiri family greeted Souma and asked him if he knew where the hell Jou had disappeared to this time, and obviously Souma had no clue, but it really did seem like things would work out between the two families after all. Once it was just Erina watching him silently through the screen, Souma gave a slow smile and said, “Good seeing you again, Nakiri. I guess I’ll…”
Erina asked hesitantly, “Are you free later? Maybe around midnight my time?”
Shrugging, Souma answered, “Should be. Why?”
“N-no, it’s nothing. Never mind. Goodbye.”
“I’ll call you,” Souma offered.
Erina’s ears turned red. “If you insist, I will pick up your call.”
“Sounds great.” Souma passed the phone back to Hisako and sat down grinning like a foolish idiot.
Alice had been watching the whole interaction with mild amusement, and now she tapped the kitchen counter for attention, first dibs on the truffle oil long forgotten.
“So, Yukihira. You still think she doesn’t like you?”

Im actually so pissed at netflix for cancelling the society lol. Fr its probably one of my favourite netflix original shows and then they reversed the renewal 2 weeks before it was supposed to start filming... but of course we still are getting more of john b and the outerbanks crew and another kissing booth movie (i know kissing booth filmed before covid but still...)
It’s genuinely got such an intriguing plot and set up an excellent premise for a Season 2! I wanted to see the consequences of the coup and the farm and Eden!
I think they were having issues with filming in Mass because we’re very strict on who can be here and what they can do. It may have been a long wait to start and they just didn’t think they could hold on that long? That’s really the only thing that kind of makes sense to me. It’s a big cast and maybe it would have been expensive and inconvenient to follow all the guidelines with such a large group.
This seems to be an unpopular opinion, but Outer Banks has never seemed interesting to me... My guess is that they film in a less strict place, probably. But don’t even get me started on how little we need another Kissing Booth movie.
But, at the end of the day, Netflix is a business and if they can’t justify a cost, they’ll cut it out. It just sucks when that cost is an actually good show.
#asked and answered#anonymous#the society#i could tag with outer banks and the kissing booth but i feel like someone would be salty about it#ah fuck it#outer banks#the kissing booth

7/30/20
i’ve never felt this low in a long time, not even in sophomore year of college?? it’s like rly concentrated sadness and rly hit hard within the last month?
- i went through my first breakup, which affected me a lot more than i thought it would. it was so short lived i don’t even want to call it a relationship. i hate to admit it but it hurt so much bc it seemed like he wanted to be with me for a while. he has his reasons and he should take care of himself but i can’t help but feel thrown away without care? i wanted closure and he couldn’t even give me that. my self confidence went down the drain, and i kept questioning if there was something i could have done differently. i even contemplated if i was pretty enough XD can you believe i let a 5’6 man make me feel like this...pathetic...but yeah he rly has no emotional intelligence or something man cmon i wanna talk it out.. - it took me a while to get over him and now i dont miss him specifically, i just miss being wanted and having that connection? anyway my confidence was bad at this point and was feeling insecure in so many ways. maybe 3-4 weeks ago i started going down this dark hole, just questioning my purpose here. i’m not smart, pretty, or talented in any field. i felt kind of useless? just there... (even typing this im like tearing up hehe) comparing myself to ppl again..how i’m not good enough (in eng) just kinda wasting my parents money? and i think about if i were prettier i’d prob be treated better and those around me would pay nore attention to me? brings me to my next point :p - i feel SO lonely. it doesnt help that i went through a break up and the person i was talking to all day every day is suddenly cut from my life. my friends can contact me and stuff but i feel so left out sometimes. it’s not their fault, it’s just how my brain is ig lol. it felt like i was back in high school. i had acquaintances and was surrounded by friends but couldnt rly connect and be close to ppl. what i remeber most was being at the booth and being surrounded by girl friends and not adding to the convo at all. i felt so lonely and insecure i never want to feel that again. recently i felt it with my cousins who i have always felt close to. can u believe? i can’t rly explain it. but when sp brought her friends to the lake i felt ostracized. its so stupid for ne to feel that way, they’re literally strangers and i wish we could be like white folks that introduce each other right at the start of meeting new ppl U KNOW?? idk i’m so fucking sensitive LOL. like at least mai did it with her bf. I Am Nothing. like sp didnt introduce tp so why am i feeling like this. i guess its just me and my deep rooted trauma of being overlooked and forgotten! even when we went to the lake with just our cousins i felt SOOO SOOOOOOOO down and lonely, even more than before. i was sticking near ap bc it was kinda awkward still and i didnt want her to be lonely. i was just floating around and they played games and talked together and stuff and i felt invisible i felt so lonely even with so many ppl i love there. it didn’t help that they had sleepovers and hung out together so ich and never asked me. they even planned to sleepover later that night and didnt ask me. i wonder if it was bc i was neutral and stuck with ap? oh yeah i forgot that i couldnt go eat with them bc there was no room for me which is understandable but i still felt shitty and i think i cried that night :p it’s small insignificant things that build up for me and make me feel like an afterthought. it rly fueled my self confidence issue. AGAIN no one did anything wrong i’ve just been very sensitive and analytical of everything lately. it’s kind of led me to being distant with sp kinda like im testing her and seeing if she would reach out to me at all? its petty but i feel like she hates me fr 😂 might just be me. I Am Nothing...
ANYWAY ive been crying like pretty often just having these thoughts eat me up. it’s better now i think? it’s scary to admit but i’ve thought about dying so many times recently and i hate it. almost like it’s normalized to me now. it’s not that i would ever attempt but i understand what ppl mean when they want to disappear? i’m very blessed with loving parents and a healthy able body and a good living situation. i never want to put my parents and family through something that traumatizing. i haven’t properly expressed these feelings to anyone besides one watered down text to darwin. it was hard to even type the text, i ended up crying in the bathroom. i’ll have bad days and the thoughts creep up on me and i try to distract myself by watching stuff and it helps. i’ve been working out and dieting and i feel a lot better about myself and more positive. i’ve thought about therapy seriously but im hesitant still. if i still have issues i will, but talking through a screen and the risk of others hearing kinda turns me off. just processing my feelings and thinking about them extensively has helped me a bit but i think having a professional tell me about my feelings will make me feel better. idk how to bring it up at all, and i feel like my issues arent serious enough? but my brain been going cwazy :3
i’ve been having a rough time at home just doing a lot of nothing but being sad and working out.. i hope with school starting soon i can get out the house and be productive again! recently ive been dealing with the problem of “living for others” i notice that i care about the comfort of others and how i can satisfy them and appeal to others at my expense.. i’ve been thinking about how im not good enough for this type of guy to like me LIKE WHO AMMM IIII WHY DO I CARE...WEIRDO..... maybe im dragging myself too hard i dont think i do this much but i do be a nice comfy doormat for others :)
but overall i feel better than a few weeks ago i think! idk what that was about why is my brain like this....making irrational thoughts and hurting my own feelings...idk but it will be okay :)

Wednesday, April 3rd (continued)
“Right, where are we?” Rose asked brusquely, barreling through the doors into their suite. Mel stood at the corkboard, and she waved for her to follow as she continued into her bedroom to dress for dinner.
“How was the dedication?” Mel trailed after her, perching on the bench at the foot of Rose’s bed while she dug through her closet.
Rose started at the back where her nicer dresses were hidden, examining each one as she talked. “Nice. Not terribly well attended, I was surprised. It seemed the King spoke off the cuff. He was very good, engaging, certainly not stuffy or boring. He certainly seemed comfortable, though that could always be an act. What have you found?”
“Well, based on our basic background parameters I’ve identified fifty-two potential matches,” her friend said, speaking up so Rose could hear her over the screech of sliding hangers. “D’you have anything blue? You wore red last night.”
“Fifty-two?”
“Those are of the ‘proper’ pedigree. Some level of nobility, age range, and single to my knowledge.”
Rose sighed, stepping back with her hands on her hips, equally frustrated with the job and her wardrobe. “Right. Well, it’s a start. Widen the field to non-nobility but still upper-class – heiresses, humanitarians, but posh. Amal Clooney, not a gap-year Greenpeace volunteer.” A hint of blue peeked out from the other end of her closet, where she found a gauzy blouse in a royal shade and a black pencil skirt. “What do you think of this?”
She held the outfit up to herself, turning to show Mel, who studied her carefully.
“That’ll work!”
-
Saturday, April 6th
After their bumpy start, the next two days flew by. As Sarah Jane had promised, Rose spent effectively all day every day with the King, seeing him in action and getting a sense of what was required from the Queen. He slowly loosened up, telling unprompted stories every so often and making her laugh.
Between himself and Sarah Jane she was getting a clear picture of both what the role would require, and the type of woman needed to fill it.
Mel worked tirelessly from their suite, researching potential candidates and lining up tentative interviews. She managed the proprietary software they’d developed together, taking Rose’s instinct and insight and turning it into quantifiable data to rank the candidates as they narrowed the list.
The first Saturday they were there dawned bright and early, Sarah Jane finding them already at work with steaming mugs of coffee at eight in the morning.
“My goodness,” she said, making Rose and Mel’s heads snap up, “you’ve certainly been busy.”
“Sarah Jane!” Rose leapt to her feet and hurried to her, nearly tripping on a number of loose pages but managing not to fall. “Hi! Did you need something?”
Glancing around the room anxiously, she tried to see it from the other woman’s perspective. It certainly looked less than impressive, piles upon piles of paper spread over nearly the entire floor, though both she and Mel knew exactly what everything was.
To Sarah Jane, it probably looked like pure chaos.
“Quite the opposite,” the woman smiled. “You’ve both been working incredibly hard, the Princess and I are both very impressed. On that note, we have our annual spring festival occurring in town this weekend.”
“I didn’t know,” Rose’s eyes widened, heart plummeting. Despite a relatively peaceful and argumentative-free two and a half days she was constantly on guard, waiting for the King’s whim to change and send her packing. Her mind raced, trying to remember if the event had been mentioned; was she supposed to go? Was he waiting for her?
But the woman’s eyes were kind, and she was smiling. “I wouldn’t have expected you to, seeing as I never mentioned it.”
“I… don’t understand?”
“I’m giving you the day off,” Sarah Jane laughed. “I think it would be beneficial for you to go to the festival, truly get a feel for the people without the King or any of the palace staff, just be visitors. Have fun. Play games, try the food, enjoy yourselves, take a break.”
“That sounds lovely,” Mel spoke before Rose could, hurrying around to them and pinching Rose’s side viciously, presumably so she’d stay quiet. “Thank you so much! How should we get there?”
“Bill will drive you in,” their host explained. “And, here – consider it a little bonus.” She handed Rose an envelope, a quick rifle through showing several twenty Euro notes.
“Thank you,” Rose repeated, smiling, at war inside. One part wanted to stay and work, determined not to let anything keep her from success, while the other, larger part (buoyed by Mel’s enthusiasm for the idea) wanted to cut loose and take a few hours off. “I’m sure it’s wonderful.”
“I’m taking Luke tomorrow,” Sarah Jane confided, “and His Majesty will be judging a few competitions later in the week, but today’s the first day when everything’s freshest. Oh, it’s beautiful, and I hope you enjoy!”
Clutching the envelope to her chest, Rose fervently promised herself that they would.
We deserve this.
-
Sarah Jane and Bill’s enthusiastic descriptions didn’t do the festival jealous – it was spectacular.
Sticking together, Rose and Mel went from vendor to vendor, oohing and aahing over the locally- and hand-made items, everything from knitted sweaters and scarves and hats to jams and jellies and wines.
“This is heaven,” Mel sighed, picking through a bag of trail mix for the local berries. “This whole country. It’s so beautiful here, and everyone’s so friendly. Even though this is the capital, it feels just like a cozy English village. Can you imagine living here?”
“It’s incredible,” Rose agreed through a mouthful of popcorn. “Look how happy everyone is.” Not just happy; friendly. They had already met dozens of locals, all pleased as punch to have visitors and a chance to gush about their homeland.
The main rows of booths lined the street, one on either side, and though they hadn’t ventured from that path yet, Rose knew a second set of booths were set up on the sidewalks behind the main aisles.
A hand-made sign proclaiming Baked Goods This Way! pointed down one of the breaks between booths, and Rose’s sweet tooth insisted she follow it, Mel hot on her heels. They came out behind the row of tents to see the second, less crowded aisle of booths. Fewer vendors were set up here along the sidewalk, their foot traffic suffering for it.
Most of the buildings were the typically quaint old-fashioned storefronts, two stories with the shop on the ground floor and flats above it. Nearly every one showed signs of recent activity, indicating that they were open in general, and specifically for the festival.
An elegant old building that had clearly seen better days loomed over the rest of the street, a folding table set up right in front of the door with hand-decorated signs. Judging by its architecture, it had once been some sort of theater. Three preteen girls and a woman in her fifties stood behind the table, and the girls all lit up when Rose and Mel stopped in front of them.
“Hello!” the tallest one chirped, “Welcome to the City of Arcadia Children’s Center Bake Sale. We are selling baked goods to raise money to fix the roof after all the snow this winter. Would you like to buy something sweet?”
Rose’s heart melted at the practiced but heartfelt recitation, and judging by Mel’s aww next to her, she agreed. “I most certainly would!” Glancing down at the table she carefully eyed the various treats, which ranged from cupcakes and cookies to candies, everything homemade. “This all looks so lovely, did you bake all this?”
The girl shook her head, giggling. “Just those cupcakes,” she pointed to a tray, “and some of the signs.”
Rose and Mel plucked up a cupcake each, Rose’s chocolate with chocolate icing and edible ball-bearings, while Mel’s was, of course, carrot cake, with an adorable iced carrot on top.
“Would you like some hot cocoa as well?” the preteen/sales shark asked innocently, and both women nodded.
“I certainly would, it’s still a bit nippy out!” Mel gave an exaggerated shiver, making the girls giggle. “Although, you don’t have any carrot juice, do you?” Rose elbowed her sharply. “I mean, do you attend the…”
“City of Arcadia Children’s Center,” all three girls chorused.
“Yes,” the leader continued, standing tall. “Since we were babies. It’s running low on funds, though, so we want to help."
The woman behind the table nodded, far more serious than her charges. “We’re all but free of charge, so anyone can send their children, only without donations we can hardly operate. An expensive childminding service opened last year, and many of the wealthier families hire from there. It’s good for the young women who get the work, but we’ve been struggling ever since.”
Rose didn’t even have to look at Mel to know she would agree with what she was about to do, and pulled the envelope of their money from Sarah Jane out and thrust it towards the woman without hesitation. “I don’t think it’s much, but I hope it helps.”
“Oh, thank you!” the woman gushed, not even looking in the envelope before coming around the table and hugging Mel and Rose. “You’re angels, truly! I suspect you’re from out of town, but please, feel free to come visit on Tuesday if you’re still here. I can give you a tour, and you can see how much this will help us. Really, I insist, just walk right in and ask for ‘Polly’, that’s me. My husband Ben and I run the Center, he does most of the handiwork about the place. Oh, thank you!” Polly squeezed them again, drawing laughs from both women and giggles from the girls.
“Best of luck,” Rose said warmly, “it was lovely to meet you.”
They moved on, heading back towards the main thoroughfare again, though Rose couldn’t help but glance over her shoulder.
An idea was brewing.
-
Ian resettled the hat on his head before adjusting his sunglasses, doing his best to remain incognito. He would officially be attending the Festival later in the week, but ever since he was old enough to sneak out of the palace he’d stolen down on the first day every year, never missing it if he was in the country.
The last thing he wanted, though, was to be recognized. Whenever possible he went out in disguise, to sit in a pub or take in a performance or game. He liked to be amongst Gallifreyans, be part of the crowd, see it from their eyes. He’d figured out very early on that life looked much different from the crowds versus the royal dais.
He preferred the crowd.
Eating directly from the baggie of cookies he’d bought at Polly’s table with a wink and discreet check, he wandered the stalls looking for inspiration for Donna’s forthcoming birthday. The ‘official’ gift was already set, organized well in advance, but he always tried to do something personal as well, usually finding something at the Festival for her. She valued Gallifreyan-made as much as he did, believed in supporting their people and the creative arts.
I could get her another case of that wine she liked… he mused, before grimacing. Wine felt so… impersonal a gift to him, so fleeting. He always strove for something tangible but practical, something she could use. What do you get the person who has everything?
He stopped at a stall with handknit scarves on display, and a surreptitious glance at the list on his mobile showed it had been at least five years since the last scarf he’d bought her. With another adjustment to his hat he began flicking through the options, immediately dismissing almost all of them as not being Donna.
A scarf in emerald on the rack behind the one he was looking at caught his eye, but when he tried to take it down, he found resistance.
“Oi, I’m looking at that one,” an irritated voice sounded from the other side, and after a moment he placed it with a heavy sigh. Of course she’s here, he rolled his eyes. If she blows my cover she’s fired. That was a lie though – he’d thought that a dozen times since so far, and except for that first night, he’d never so much as vaguely hinted at the idea to her.
He continued to gently tug on the garment, partially to annoy her, and she came around the corner eyes blazing. “Hey! I had that first, and common court-e-sy… What?” Rose trailed off, tilting her head, brow furrowed, tongue peeking out of the corner of mouth in concentration as she stared at him.
“Shh,” he muttered, “I don’t want to be recognized.”
“You look fairly suspicious in all black and hiding your features,” she pointed out automatically, before flushing and letting go of the scarf. “Sorry.”
Ian shook his head, casting furtive eyes around to be sure they were unobserved. “It’s all right.”
“What are you doing here?” she whispered, voice dropping even lower to add, “Sir?”
“Shopping for my sister’s birthday,” he replied in kind. “You?”
“Souvenir for my Mum,” matchmaker girl shrugged, shoving her hands into her pockets. “I’ll find another one, though.”
He wavered; the polite thing to do would be to let her have it, but it was perfect for Donna. “You can-”
“No,” she shook her head, cutting him off, eyes going wide. “Sorry. That’s perfect for her, to go with her hair. Really. Besides, Mum would probably prefer this one,” she gestured to one on the same rack as the teal, identical except in fluorescent pink. Ian fought back a shiver of disgust.
“Thank you,” he smiled, tipping his head down and lowering his sunglasses enough to meet her eye.
They stared awkwardly at each other for a long moment, before Ian nodded decisively. “I’m just going to pay,” he gestured towards the stall’s vendor, but she stopped him from turning.
“Wait! I just… why are you sneaking around buying a present? Couldn’t you send someone to do it?”
“No,” Ian said automatically, before stopping to consider the question. “I mean yes, I could. But then it’s not from me. I prefer to pick something out for her myself – I’ve always done it.”
Rose smiled after a moment. “That’s really nice,” she said wistfully.
He shrugged, uncomfortable with the praise. “Thank you.” After a moment he turned away, and this time she didn’t stop him.
Paying for the scarf in cash and accepting his bag with a nod of thanks, he wandered off to enjoy the rest of the festival, but in the back of his mind, for some inexplicable reason he couldn’t stop thinking about her smile.
Ian Reginald, what is wrong with you?

anyways after more dates like that yall make it Official and u guys are legit so cute and dorky its unbelievable
although yall do love going out and exploring, especially at night,, yall treasure those indoors dates as well when youre both just too tired to go out and have fun !! it consists of wiggling to some choice music, binge watching a good series, dramatic readings of some nice books, napping together, trying (and failing) to make some food before ordering takeout, etc
also sometimes ur indoors dates do devolve into criticizing some of the more questionable music tastes of the other
yoongi: dude halsey sounds like the baninis and avocados vine

also u both sometimes struggle with mental health and u guys just have,, the others fave comfort foods saved in the notes app and when one of yall texts the other going “sorry had a rough day” yall pick up the others fave foods then go and cuddle them
but if ur rough patches coincide yall do ur best to motivate the other to at least get smth small done that day so you can both be proud that in spite of it all you still made at least some progress :)

hes a lot more dominant than his exterior lets him on to be ! and the marks on your skin (and by skin i mean All Over Your Body) only goes to show that he has no mercy and if you purposely tease him even a lil he will absolutely wreck you
he likes seeing u in lingerie !! like can either of you, one a musician the other a hopeful linguist and teacher, afford these expensive ass sets? no, but he loves seeing you in white lace and not even god could stop him ! unfortunate how sometimes he gets too rough and tears it off and u dont say anything in the moment but when you wake up the next morning, sore as fuck, you look at the remains of the cute lingerie and go,, yoongi that was 200 bucks
and hes like huh? thats awful spicy
anyways ur both initially a bit quiet during sex but when u accidentally let slip that ur just a bit of a degradee ur boy,, loses it
and from now on he dirty talks you to the high heavens and ur like FUCK because sometimes he calls you his whore but other times he sarcastically calls you princess and ur like,,, heck
also :^) his tongue technology is no joke :^) when he eats you out all of ur neighbors find out his name oopsies because he knows exactly what to do with his tongue and ur there, shaking, enjoying it all
honestly just expect to be sore
but he isnt always this intense !! sometimes he just wants to be close to you and yall spoon and stuff
or he might have had a long day producing so you just ride him
also some might say he sleeps immediately after sex but i think hed make sure that youre totally fine first
like he cleans you up with a towel, runs you a bath if you have the energy, and cuddles you and once ur both settled THEN will he fall asleep

Daredevil Character Profile - Matt Murdock
I absolutely love this character! When I first started watching Daredevil, I had no idea that I would like this show and the characters so much! It was quite a surprise for me, but Marvel hadn’t let me down yet so I gave it a try. I had intended to watch the first episode and ended up binging over 2 nights the entire season when it first hit Netflix. Seriously, my favorite show ever. I loved all of the Defenders shows, but Daredevil is always going to be my favorite. So let’s take a look at what makes Matt Murdock tick, shall we?
When we are first introduced to Matt Murdock as an adult, we see a professionally dressed gentleman in the confessional of a church stating simply that it’s been a long time since his last confession. Truth be told, he probably knows the exact date of his last confession, he has a bizarre memory due to how the chemicals enhanced certain brain functions from the accident as a kid that left him blind. For non Catholics, the modern Catholic Church only requires confession once a year in order to be in good standing. It still offers confession weekly, but a Catholic doesn’t “need” to confess weekly. Matt, in his confession to Fr. Lantom, mentions that his father used to attend this church. Given that he’s pointed that out, one can assume that Matt hasn’t attended church in a long time. Probably not since he left St. Agnes, the orphanage where he was raised after the death of his father. This is an interesting starting point for our hero as later in The Defenders he is seen once again in the confessional, but states that it’s been 3 days since his last confession. But more on that later. For now, we just get the feeling that he doesn’t attend church on a regular basis, further reiterated when he speaks to Fr Lantom in front of the church and Fr Lantom mentions that he remembers Jack Murdock and that it wasn’t hard to draw the line between Jack and the confessional visit, figuring out that it was Matt in the booth. Also Fr Lantom reminds Matt on another occasion that morning Mass was hours ago when Matt comes into the sanctuary to speak with him.
Matt is not a morning person. When we first see Foggy, he’s on his way to meet a real estate agent about an office for Nelson and Murdock and he’s giving Matt a wake up call which he is clearly used to doing. As the show progresses, you see several times where Matt is somewhat of an insomniac, even before the accident. One could argue that being blind has caused him to not sleep well at night as it messes with the natural circadian rhythm of the body, but given Matt’s senses, I don’t think he suffers circadian rhythm issues. We do, however, see that Matt going to bed and sleeping at a reasonable time is source of contention between him and his father. Matt is a precocious boy and Jack, as an only parent, is fairly easy going with him as long as Matt gets to school and gets his work done. Like most kids though, Matt tends to push that limit a little. Matt is also used to being left alone at night a lot when his dad is boxing. In all of the flashbacks though, there is not one mention of Matt’s mother. It seems all of Matt’s memories center around his dad. He mentions a grandmother that we can assume is a paternal grandmother during his first confession with Fr Lantom, but we never see her, she’s not mentioned again, and no connection whatsoever to his mother or her side of the family. Matthew is clearly Irish Catholic so it can assumed he would have a large family, yet he does not.
Moving on, our first glance at Matt’s apartment shows a beautiful loft apartment when Karen comes to stay the night for her protection. Matt and Foggy aren’t making any money yet, literally! Who the hell can afford a great loft apartment in the city of a budget of zero income? Apparently, being blind has it’s privileges. There’s a very bright billboard that shines in the window so the landlord had issues renting that unit, something Matt isn’t particularly bothered by so he apparently got a killer deal on the place. It’s sparsely furnished, literally only the necessities, sofa, couple of chairs, a small dinette set, bedroom. The furniture doesn’t appear to be expensive, yet we learn later that he uses silk bed sheets and the bedroom, though again sparse, has a decently sized bed for one person. Yet no art of any kind and he doesn’t bother to turn the lights on (well, he is blind so....), but no art? He clearly doesn’t have company often or simply doesn’t give two shits about what people think. I’d venture to say a bit of both. However, it’s interesting that he’s minimal in most areas of his life, but does indulge in a few creature comforts, sparse furnishing, but nice apartment (especially compared to other apartments seen, such as Claire’s and Karen’s), roomy for only one person, and nice bedding. Not only is his apartment sparse, but he seems to be OCD about the cleanliness. He doesn’t live in a typical bachelor pad. His damn apartment is cleaner than most women’s places including my own. He is extremely organized, but again, he’s blind so it’s probably to his advantage to be so organized.
This has definitely been a long post, but I hope you enjoyed it. It’s just a little insight into Matt Murdock from season 1 of Daredevil. Will probably add to this profile at some point. I do have theories as to Matt’s income which I will post separately on.

Yes yes yes to the discount list please
okay here’s the Official Guide to Cheap(er) West End Tickets
italics is something that i’ve either used in the past or something that i’m signed up for!
STUDENT DISCOUNTS
ok so pretty much every student discount option has the age range of 16-25. you don’t need a school id- you just need proof of age of some sort!
student beans is a site tht sells tickets to students for a discounted price (sometimes up to 50% off regular pricing). i haven’t used tht site myself but everyone i know who has used it says it’s good. they also offer gift cards & vouchers through their site so keep an eye out for those too! they don’t just offer west end- you can book for regional productions & off west end through them too as well as other things so that’s pretty cool. they offer you the option of buying a lower band ticket & being upgraded to better seating for free. i just did a test “buy” (i didn’t purchase them but i went through the system) and all their kinky boots tickets are currently 27% off & they list every available ticket so you have totally free choice. this site is good for bigger shows (les mis, phantom, kinky boots, the lion king, book of mormon) because those tickets tend to be more expensive than others due to their popularity. i think you need a student email or id for student beans but i’m not sure bc i haven’t bought anything from there so
national theatre entry pass - it’s a FREE membership for 16-25 year olds tht gives you access to workshops & events run by the national theatre. you can also purchase £7.50 tickets to Every national theatre production (and it’s only £10 to bring a friend also 16-25 who doesn’t have a membership). you need a passport, driving license or your nt pass card to pick up your tickets! you also get discounts at the national theatre bookshop and for their costume and props hire as well (fancy). it’s worth signing up even if you’re not sure as it’s 100% free!
young barbican scheme- this one is for 14-25 year olds and they offer 50 thousand tickets (yearly) for between £5 and £15 to film, music, theatre and dance events. it’s free to sign up so it’s another one that’s worth signing up for just in case anything comes up that you like (and it will ALL be under £15 what a bargain??) like with the above, you can also bring a friend of the same age group for the same price ! you need a photo id to pick up your tickets
rsc key allows you to see any royal shakespeare production in either london or stratford upon avon for £5. also ! when you’ve seen five shows you get to see one entirely for free which is pretty cool. you can’t get cheaper than tht. you’re also offered discounts throughout the entire rsc & get invitations to exclusive rsc events. it’s free to sign up for 16-25 year olds and it’s well worth signing up for.
young vic - they offer a limited number of £10 tickets for those who are 25 and under. you need proof of age for when you collect your tickets (yes, this is the place doing fun home london… i managed to recently pick up tickets for £10 even though they went on sale ages ago so). i know loads of people who’ve used this !
mousetrap theatre projects- mousetrap offers four different programmes. theatrelive4£5 is for 15-18 year olds who attend a state secondary school. they email everyone on the list links to tickets for £5 which INCLUDES a pre or post show talk with the cast. i only just signed up for this so idk what it’s like but i’m hyped it sounds great (you do need a consent form emailed if ur under 18 but u can also just do ur parents signature they’ll never know). if you’re signed up to theatrelive4£5 you automatically move to westend4£10 when you turn 19 which lasts until you’re £23. this works the same way & allows you to see theatre for £10. it’s one event a month which includes a talk with the cast & crew. their third group is theatrescene4£15 and runs the same way but for 24-29 year olds. their final group is accesstheatre4£5 and runs the same way as the other groups but allows 16-25 year olds who need captioned or bsl interpreted theatre to see it for a really good price too !
access all arias- it’s the london coliseum/eno group, free to join if you’re 16-29 & gives you the opportunity to book two discounted tickets per production (which includes half price programmes). tickets are £30 for stalls, £20 for dress circle, and £10 for upper circle.
student standby scheme- run by the royal opera house. they release all unsold tickets 24 hours before the performance for £10 and it’s first come first served (and for students 16-25) but it works out way cheaper than seeing anything there as the tickets are like… £200 for roh productions.
WEBSITES AND APPS
compare theatre tickets- compares the best deals from some of the major ticket agencies (it’s like compare the market but fr theatre tickets)! i’ve never used it but it looks pretty ? good? it lets you choose a date and shows you all the available prices and tickets for that date (or date range)
theatre monkey- offers tickets at a cheaper price than the official sites most of the time
todaytix- i love todaytix i .. have spent so much money on there. offers tickets to a whole load of west end plays & musicals. you can buy tickets for any show through the next week/month (& sometimes they offer advance booking for certan shows) and they never sell restricted view seating. ALSO rush tickets & lottery can be entered through the app for a lot of shows so it’s definitely worth downloading. ALSO i have a code here for £10 off your order (which will also give me £10 off) just enter GLLTD when u go to the checkout !
get into london theatre- allows you to choose a price range and shows you what tickets are available for the price you can afford which is p cool
what’s on stage- another site for cheaper tickets, doesn’t really offer many shows but it’s great if it has what you’re looking for i guess !
IN PERSON
tkts- official london theatre booth in leicester square, tickets are usually about 30% down from the theatre prices. tickets can also be bought from their website. queues can be up to an hour in the summer, but are usually shorter around winter time and on schooldays.

Who Might Be Liable for a Truck Accident?
After most collisions involving regular cars, one of the drivers involved is held liable for the other party’s damages, which are usually covered by the at-fault motorist’s insurance company. But if you were injured by a negligent trucker, it’s likely that his or her employer would be liable for your medical bills and other losses.
Employers can be held vicariously liable for the negligence of their employees through the doctrine of respondeat superior. If, however, the trucker was an independent contractor, it’s likely that vicarious liability would not apply.
Depending on the cause of the accident, there are many other parties who might be liable.
Examples include:
The Party That Maintained the Vehicle: Some trucking companies hire contractors to maintain their fleet. If negligent truck maintenance was the cause of your crash, the party that was hired to maintain the truck might be liable for damages.
A Government Entity: Was your crash caused by poor road maintenance or negligent road design? If so, a government entity might be liable.
The Company That Loaded the Cargo: Commercial trucks often transport tens of thousands of pounds of cargo. If the truck is overloaded or the cargo is imbalanced, the party that loaded the cargo might be liable for any accident that results.
An Auto Part Designer or Manufacturer: If an auto part defect—either affecting your vehicle or the truck—caused the crash, the designer or manufacturer of that part or the vehicle itself might be liable.
Our Temecula truck accident lawyers have the knowledge and experience to help you navigate the claims process no matter who was at fault for your injuries. We will conduct a detailed investigation to identify all potentially liable parties. Depending on the circumstances, pursuing compensation from multiple parties might increase your chances of receiving compensation for 100 percent of your economic damages due to California’s joint and several liability laws.
Under joint and several liability, one defendant can be held liable for all of a victim’s damages even if multiple parties contributed to the damages. As such, if one defendant doesn’t have the insurance coverage to pay for their portion of your economic damages, you may be able to pursue the difference from another defendant.
Important Evidence in Temecula Truck Accident Cases
Strong evidence can be the difference between winning a fair settlement and having to go through the hassle of trial, or walking away with no compensation at all. Our Temecula truck accident attorneys have one goal: to get you fairly compensated as soon as possible. We will perform an immediate and comprehensive investigation into your case to compile all available evidence. If necessary, we will file subpoenas to collect evidence that’s being withheld. We can also bring in medical, economic, vocational, and accident reconstruction experts to provide testimony.
Depending on the circumstances, we may use the following evidence to prove liability:
The trucker’s receipts for gas, food, and lodging;
Weigh station records;
GPS data;
Toll booth receipts;
Data from the truck’s electronic logging device;
Timestamped bills of lading;
The cell phone records of the truck driver;
The police report;
Dashcam and surveillance footage;
Data from the truck’s black box;
Testimony from eyewitnesses;
Documentation of the motor carrier’s training and operational procedures;
Vehicle maintenance records;
Testimony from expert witnesses;
Photos of the crash scene; and
Video footage of the accident.
To obtain a recovery of damages, it’s also necessary to prove the kinds of damages you’ve incurred and their value.
Evidence of damages may include:
Your medical records;
Financial records to prove lost income and lost earning capacity;
Receipts for any expenses related to the accident or injury;
Vehicle repair estimates;
Expert witness testimony;
Your personal injury journal; and
Photos of injuries.

My love affair with Singapore part four: Ticking off items on my bucket list and some first times
I say part four because my recent trip to Singapore is my fourth.
As the title suggests, there were items crossed out from the bucket list and some first times.
To begin with - it is my first time to tour someone in the City-State in this all expenses paid trip courtesy of the mother. It was a combination of showing our priest friend around and my vacation. It also is my first time to fly with Cebu Pacific internationally and it wasn’t that bad.
This flight is that flight wherein I have realized that I don’t need to go outside Manila to find an A380 because at the Lufthansa Technik Philippines hub, there were 2 A380s that are being maintained - one is owned by Qantas and the other is from British Airways. So that was a treat for me as our A320 passed by where LTP is situated. It also was an awesome sight for me to see a couple of A340s, A330s and a few more A320s from PR and 5J that were all being maintained at the said hub. Although the two A380s really were my eye candies. 😍
I believe we went on schedule for the outbound flight. With that, kudos, 5J! In flight, while I know my friend, Meg is currently on leave, it still felt as if she is there because one of the cabin crews serving that flight 5J 813 looked like her especially when she smiles. It is like seeing Meg served her duty aboard the A320.
Prior to flying out of the country, another 5J FA friend, Eljei told me to bring Jollibee in flight and not settle for the food they serve on board. I don’t mean to offend 5J in any way but this is the point where I missed flying with PR ✌ The pre-ordered in-flight meal was hot as promised but it didn’t look the same as how it was photographed. At first taste, it was good but after later on, what Eljei told me about the in flight food is true.
I should have listened.
Food service was great, but again, I missed flying with PR if we talk about that part. I would reiterate saying I don’t mean to offend, I am just used to the unlimited water, bigger tray table and complete meal on board. I don’t mean to compare either. ✌
We were seated at row 15, just after the seats near the exit doors in which I definitely envied because of the leg space. For someone who loves to sleep almost the entire flight, leg space sure is a must but achieving so was kind of difficult on board the A320.
The giddy kid in me was so happy the moment we landed at the Changi International Airport. Finally, the airplane gods were kind to me that my eyes feasted on Singapore Airlines’ A380s because they were everywhere! ✈ As we taxi unto where we are to park, it sure was a treat for me to see some B787s, B737s, B777s, A320s and for the first time, an A350-900 XWB showed up just near where the designated parking for the cabin is.
Man, the A350-900 XWB is pretty! 😍
As the cabin comes to a complete stop, my heart is at glee, not because I am to explore Singapore in a way I wanted but because 5J’s A320 was parked beside SIA’s A380 😍
If the A350-900 XWB is pretty, finally seeing the A380 upclose makes me wanna say she is beautiful! 😍
My heart melts because seeing the planes alone did give a lot of excitement to me. It gave me more energy that is comparable to the endorphins that I get from running. Seeing the planes alone sure was a way for me to assume that indeed, this is going to be a trip full of surprises.
On my bucket list, there is something that says “find an A380 at Changi Airport.” And there goes the ✔ tick on it. Yay!
We decided to be the last to deplane to achieve two things - a foto op with the cabin crew and another with the flight crew in the flight deck.
The aspiring FA me achieved that goal just the way I wanted it to be but with a little extra. At the flight deck, I asked permission from the pilots if we can take fotos and they were too nice to let us sit on the captain and FO’s seat as the captain of the flight himself takes the foto. First time at the flight deck to experience sitting at the FO’s area. So it was like me turning into a First Officer for a minute or so. A320’s flight deck is so small that we weren’t able to take a foto there along with the flight deck crew, however, the foto op with the pilots still happened only that it was taken at the more spacious front row galley.
Again for that, thank you and kudos to 5J for being so welcoming. ❤
Now from the airport, we took the taxi - it was a Mercedes Benz that we boarded. Makes me think that it is already a luxury car in Manila and yet in Singapore it’s just a taxi. Talk about the third world girl being in a first world country. I am amazed.
We dropped our stuff at the hotel and left right after since it was too early for check-in, so we make use of the time to begin the tour.
What better way to kick that tour by going to the Singapore Flyer - another item on my bucket list so that truly excited me more than my companion. It was worth the many years of wait. I couldn’t even help but take lots of fotos and videos while we were inside the Singapore Flyer capsule. Every minute inside it, seeing a 360° view of Singapore is all worth it.
Lovely that I have seen the Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay and the National Stadium aboard the observation wheel.
So there, Singapore Flyer wishlist ✔
It was almost lunch time when we finished the tour at the Singapore Flyer so my companion and I opted to have a quick bite and found a Subway branch along the strips of food stalls inside the Singapore Flyer complex. What a lovely surprise for us that the crew in Subway is a Filipina, Irene who has been working there for about 9 months already and she hails from General Trias, Cavite. She was even kind enough to tell us that it is best to just ride the taxi on our way to our next destination rather than walking because it is humid. She also gave us an umbrella on which she said a tourist customer left and was sure that they won’t come back to get it so she gave it for us to use.
From the Singapore Flyer, I opted to take my companion at the Merlion Park wherein there is a good view of the Marina Bay, Esplanade Theatre and the Marina Bay Sands. More than the view, our intention was to take that “mandatory” foto with Singapore’s most famous icon - the Merlion.
I have been to the Merlion Park for the 4th time now and I could obviously tell how much it has changed over time. Sure when I come back there for the 5th time, there is something new again.
I opted to take my companion in one of the good tour of Singapore that I know - the river cruise on which, another Filipina is manning the ticketing booth. Funny that she has mistaken me for a minor and was so close to giving us discount 😅
At the river cruise, Uncle Boatman was so cool that he would call those passengers who would like to have a foto taken at the places that are known in the city-state like the Riverside Point across Clarke Quay and the Marina Bay - something that I take part of because the uncle sure knows how to take good shots. More than that, I learned a lot about how Singaporeans managed to make use of their resources and improve their facilities such as the Singapore River to make it a tourost attraction. Doing the river cruise made me wonder - if only we don’t have corrupt people in the government, perhaps the rehabilitation and the beautification of the Pasig River can be feasible and we could use it as a tourist activity as well knowing that there is also a rich history behind the river. But I can only wish we can replicate what the Singaporeans did with their river. 🙄
We opted to go back to the hotel after the river cruise to check in to the hotel and rest because we are to meet one of my favourite persons on earth for dinner. We took another taxi on our way back to the hotel and man, it was my first time to ride the luxurious Toyota Alphard. Believe it or not, that ride is a Limo Taxi in Singapore. A taxi! 🙄
It felt like home at the hotel because the hotel staffs are Filipinas.
It’s like I never left home at all ❤
We did have a little time to spare to stroll on our own before meeting my best friend so we opted to go to Orchard Road. However, it wasn’t as pretty as I know it is because the holiday lights are not yet lit. I remember that it is just October and that the long December only happens in the Philippines. What’s awesome in exploring Orchard at that time is the fact that we went there by foot - from the hotel, I asked a little help from Google Maps to get myself acquainted at the area again and then we walked our way to the famous strip of shopping malls in Singapore. We even managed to drop by the church to briefly pray before we continue in walking.
Sale in Singapore is always pleasing to the eyes and on the budget. The best friend suggested we check out H&M because they were on sale. And they really are! Fr. Bong was looking for a good shorts that he can wear on tour so off we went to the men’s section and while he scans for his short of choice, there I was finding myself in the midst of men’s training clothes, looking for the perfect running shirt for the love of my life (not gonna expose him beyond this part just yet). There were a lot to choose from only that not all shirts has his size. Good thing Fr. Bong was taking his sweet time in choosing his own shorts that I took time to scan all the training shirts I can find. But I really couldn’t decide which is which between 2 shirts that I ended up buying both.
So on my first day in Singapore, my favourite person already has his pasalubong. ❤
Seeing Joanna, my best friend each time I fly in Singapore is always a good treat. This time around, she made me and my companion try local Singaporean dish in a way she best know of - at Lau Pa Sat. It reminded me of the weekend Mercato at BGC because it is situated at the financial district and a portion of the road is closed down so that chairs and tables could be set up. The chicken rice and the satay was heaven! My best friend wasn’t even surprised that I almost finished a whole plateful of Chicken Satay 😅
From Lau Pa Sat, she made us experience the MRT up until Orchard Road where we just opted to grab a taxi up until the hotel. Joanna and I decided to take Fr. Bong to the hotel after dinner, rest at my room a bit and then we go out again so that we could do our bff catch up - something that we really can’t do when there is someone else around.
I am not a fan of wines but the moment Joanna said we will catch up over wine, I opted to try. She picked something that she knows I will enjoy - a sweet, pink wine from Australia - Pink Moscato. We had dessert over wine, she had Lava Cake whilst I had Key Lime Pie. Funny that I even brought with me the detox drink that I bought at Cold Storage.
I really think that Cold Storage should come to Manila, not only they sell cheaper Chia Seeds, I think they also sell awesome finds such as the detox juices and the granola that I was munching the whole 4 days in Singapore up until about 3 more days after arriving in Manila.
Just like the old times, Joanna and I talked about present life and our college past up until wee hours. Good thing that Wine Connection was just a few walks away from the hotel and I opted to book my best friend an Uber ride home instead of her taking the taxi. Uber driver got lost so I stayed with the best friend outside the hotel and waited with her until the Uber arrives. I wanted her to take Uber so that I could track her trip and ensure that she will be home safely and yes, I knew I have made the right choice in doing so.
I was also kind of giddy that my Uber app worked in Singapore - that is another first for me since getting the app and I have never been disappointed in using the ride sharing app. 👍
As soon as Uber app notified me that Joanna’s trip has reached her destination, I called it a night as I planned to do another item on my bucket list early the next day - run in the said-runner friendly Singapore.
I woke up with no voice at all due to coughs - perhaps the sudden change of weather caused the coughing but I still went on as I planned it. Happy that the location of the hotel is just a few walks away from the usual running/cycling strip. It was fun to run in there as I wasn’t the only one running - most of the people doing their runs in the area are expats. First time running abroad is awesome - I wished I could have done more running whilst I was there but the coughing prevents me from doing more than a mile. I had to rush over to the nearest 7-11 to grab a bottle of water and some lozenges as well because it is terrible to roam around when you can’t even utter a word or two. Glad that my voice came back the moment I took the lozenges in after eating breakfast.
Day 2 in Singapore was spent exploring the Marina Bay Sands and the Gardens by the Bay. Because of my bad cough, Fr. Bong decided we start roaming around at 11am to give me time to rest a bit more. I am glad that he did give me ample time to rest because I was able to regain my energy to roam around the city again. We decided to have lunch at Lucky Plaza - that mall in Orchard where it is known as a hang out of Filipinos. That’s the same mall where the forever Filipino fave fast food chain is - Jollibee! 😍
Unfortunately, my excitement in seeing Jollibee was turned to disappointment the moment I tasted their Jolly Hotdog. I thought it is the same as the one back home but it was more tailored fit to the palate of Singaporeans than have the Pinoy taste in it. It was spicy and since I was also having anothet acid reflux episode, I decided to stop eating it at first bite and settled for the fries instead. The fries was the saving grace as it is the same langhap sarap jolly goodness fries I know of.
From Lucky Plaza, we took a cab that will take us to the Marina Bay Sands - as expected, it was a massive building that left me with nothing but a jaw drop. Their shoppes are obviously high end and I couldn’t even afford to buy anything at any of them. I can only look. From the shoppes, we have to use the underpass that doesn’t feel like an underpass - this leads to the hotel itself where the access way to the Sky Tower (view deck) is. As soon as we queued at the entrance for the Sky Tower, I can only imagine how fast the lift is - we were to go 56 units up in more or less than a minute. Amazing!
The view at the Sky Tower is another way to see the whole of Singapore in 360° - a good alternative to the Singapore Flyer. Seeing the Marina Bay and the River Cruise itself from up above gave me a different perspective of my favourite ASEAN City. Then again, I also remember my other fave ASEAN City while strolling the view deck - Kuala Lumpur. Walking at the Sky Tower felt a bit like I was walking at the Menara TV Tower only that it was literally revolving. Like MBS, the Menara TV Tower in Kuala Lumpur is 56 storeys high. Then I also wonder what it feels like if I make it on top of the Petronas Towers - at 82 storeys high. Well, that is saved for another story, something that I am to look forward to in the future.
As we descend from the Sky Tower, we dropped by the MBS lobby gift shoppe because there was this cute little christmas village on display that enticed me. One of the staff at the gift shoppe is another Filipina - Ms. Lina who we have had a little chat. She is from Calamba, Laguna but she rarely goes back home because she and the rest of her family has already acquired residency in Singapore.
From the lobby, there is an access way leading to the lift to the footbridge to the Gardens by the Bay and from that footbridge, Fr. Bong and I have seen how pretty the balcony of the MBS were. It seems as if it compliments the Gardens by the Bay in a way because they were full of lush greens.
Strolling in Singapore really is always pleasing and relaxing to the eyes because you could see trees everywhere. Reaching Gardens by the Bay, we opted to take the Sky Bridge first because it is just a 15-minute exploration compared to the two domes that the tourist attraction is popular for. I am sure that I am not afraid of heights but at the moment I step my foot onto the steel bridge, even if it is safe AF, I felt my knees weakened. All throughout my walk at the bridge, I was holding on to the cables that supports it and I avoid looking down as much as possible. Just my two cents - I think the Sky Bridge is safer when the visitors has harness strapped in them rather than just the steel bridge.
After the Sky Bridge, we headed to the Fkower Dome Conservatory and was amazed by the flowers, plants and fruits inside it. My most favourite part of the Flower Dome is the California Garden wherein I was able to see an Orange Tree in the flesh. Had it not been prohibited to pick the fruit, I would have done it. Seeing Carrots, Beets and Herbs planted at the Garden comes close second. The cactus garden are third and since it was halloween week, pumpkins were everywhere.
Moving to the Cloud Forest amazed me all the more as to how they managed to set up an indoor waterfalls - it is said to be the world's tallest indoor falls and it is splendid. At this conservatory though, my favourite is the Crystal Mountain where they do have displays of stalactites and stalagmites. Even as I compose this, I am still wondering how they were able to put those cave stones there. It is in the Cloud Forest that I have realized that I was wearing a catchy shirt - saying so because not only I have the Philippine flag in front of my shirt, but also a big "PHILIPPINES" printed on it at the back. I was proudly touring Singapore, bannering the Philippine colours. No wonder that it did catch the attention of one of the workers in the garden who happens to be a Filipino. He smiled at me and said "MABUHAY ANG PILIPINAS!" - to which I couldn't agree more. It is people like him who makes this country great. I have always believed that OFWs are real life superheroes that we should all respect because they wave the country's flag wherever they go. Saying that because I am a daughter of a former OFW. 😉
We decided to head back to the Marina Bay Sands after exploring the Gardens by the Bay because we ride the taxi from there. We were supposed to meet the best friend again but her work schedule did not permit us to. So we decided to go back to the hotel to have ample rest prior to meeting another friend of mine, Sheena for dinner.
Just as I was about to meet Fr. Bong after resting, he left me a note in front of his hotel room door saying that he couldn't join us because he wanted to rest more. Originally, Sheena and I were to meet in Chinatown but I couldn't remember how to get myself there so she opted to go to my hotel instead and then we headed off to Clarke Quay to eat and catch up. Loved the place where we ate because apart from good acoustic music, we dined at the view of the Singapore River, seeing the river cruise boats pass by every so often. We went on separate ways just before midnight because she still has work and I do have an early pick up at the hotel the next day for our day tour in Sentosa Island.
Day 3 was soent solely in Sentosa. We kicked off at the S.E.A. Aquarium because it was raining when we arrived there. My fave part in the said attraction is the Ocean View section where there is a massive aquarium full of different creatures of the sea, emulating their natural habitat. Loved seeing the Stingrays and the Manta Rays and I really do think that in spite their poisonous tails, they are friendly creatures the same way as how I always think that the dolphins are. Coming close second is the touch pool where I was given the chance to touch not only the starfishes but the sea cucumber and sea urchins as well. The sea cucumbers are fluffy and it seems fragile. Exploring the S.E.A. Aquarium taught me more about conservation of the beautiful creatures of the sea and that it made me believe all the more that we do live in such a beautiful planet. We really should take part in saving our only home because any small effort becomes massive when collective.
Love affair with Universal Studios came in next as soon as we finished exploring the S.E.A. Aquarium - enjoyed Sesame Street, we even had a foto with the characters and watched their halloween show. Fr. Bong and I did enjoy the attractions as well, riding the roller coasters that I wasn't able to ride the first time I was in the theme park. However, the biggest roller coaster is still elusive to me because of my backpack. That again is another reason for me to come back. As always, I enjoyed the Far, Far Away and Madagascar part of the park, however, I failed seeing Puss in Boots and King Julien this time but it's okay. As I have said, there is always a reason to come back.
As we exit USS, we explored Hershey's Choco World and Candyliscious a bit and roamed around Resorts World Sentosa all the more. That's the part where we found out where the Michelin Star restos are and that there is a pathway leading to the Merlion Park. I have not been in the Merlion Park since 2009 - where there was no RWS yet. Exploring that side of Sentosa made me realize that there really is always something new in Singapore. For one, Images of Singapore used to be a little cheap of an attraction up until now that it became Madamme Tussauds Singapore. We wanted to go there but there were a lot of people lining up to get a ticket and man, the price is way too high. Fr. Bong and I settled to just roam around and see where else we could explore and then found ourselves walking back again to RWS wherein we will get our cab back at the hotel.
Before we went on to our respective rooms, we passed by 7-11 to buy our dinner and retired to prepare ourselves for our flight back home. My last night in Singapore was spent just in my hotel room, fixing my stuff so that it would be less of a hassle to pack the last minute.
I would not want to tire myself that much prior to our return flight so my plan of braving an uphill run at Fort Canning just before breakfast did not push through. Instead, I took a short walk and made my last look at the area which was home for me the past 4 days. As we checked out of the hotel, it was then a 6-hour wait in total for the return flight. 3-hours to wait for the baggage check in. Thank heavens for the free wifi at Changi that I was able to burn that 3-hour wait wisely.
Because I am an aspiring cabin crew, I took the chance of roaming around the airport with my flight bag in tow - the same as how the crews coming in left and right does. I was even bewildered seeing "Singapore Girls" - the term they call Singapore Airlines crews in real life. They are all pretty 😍
After we checked our stuff in, I made sure I took Fr. Bong at the quiet area of the airport which was called "The Oasis" so that we can rest. Good thing it was just a few walks away from our boarding gate. We have had a good rest at the Oasis and when the boarding gates open, we settled in there. However, wifi isn't working at that part of the airport anymore but I didn't mind because I could see airplanes parking and being pushed back for take off. From where I was seated, I was able to see the A330 plane that we are to board arrive, saw how the cargoes and bags were being placed at the aircraft's cargo hold and seen how the aircraft is being refuelled. The airplane loving me sure was giddy with all things that I have seen.
My heart is at glee upon boarding the aircraft, because another A380 was beside the plane that is about to take us back home. The A380 that bade me goodbye in Singapore is from Lufthansa this time. It actually is my first time seeing a Lufthansa aircraft and I wouldn't want it any better than the A380. ❤
In flight service was awesome, the crew that served our return flight were all nice. But sorry 5J, I didn't enjoy the pre-ordered meal and I wished once more that I was flying PAL instead (or perhaps SIA). It was a bit turbulent upon approach and descent in Manila but I was able to capture a video of the plane's landing the same way I captured us taking off from Changi. Rain greeted us as we land in Manila and a long wait at the immigrations to have our passport stamped. We landed at around 2249H but it took us about an hour to get our bags then a few more minutes to wait to get my uber ride home.
We are way behind Singapore, that is true. Going there always gives me reason to love the place over and ovet again BUT there really is no other place like home. ❤

The trucker’s receipts for gas, food, and lodging;
Weigh station records;
GPS data;
Toll booth receipts;
Data from the truck’s electronic logging device;
Timestamped bills of lading;
The cell phone records of the truck driver;
The police report;
Dashcam and surveillance footage;
Data from the truck’s black box;
Testimony from eyewitnesses;
Documentation of the motor carrier’s training and operational procedures;
Vehicle maintenance records;
Testimony from expert witnesses;
Photos of the crash scene; and
Video footage of the accident.
To obtain a recovery of damages, it’s also necessary to prove the kinds of damages you’ve incurred and their value.
Evidence of damages may include:
Your medical records;
Financial records to prove lost income and lost earning capacity;
Receipts for any expenses related to the accident or injury;
Vehicle repair estimates;
Expert witness testimony;
Your personal injury journal; and
Photos of injuries.
