I’m currently on my week long fall break from college and decided to try my hand at digital art after months of only traditional art! I just finished watching Arcane (in its entirety) for the first time, and I've really enjoyed it! One quote from the first season stood out to me, and it was the main inspiration for this little piece. I found Arcane dealt with a lot of the same themes I also have in my Spectrum story/universe, and one of the main ones is familial/father-daughter relationships. One of my favorite scenes was the one with the line “is there anything so undoing as a daughter?” And I thought that line fit very well within the context of Spectrum.

Spectrum mostly focuses on the main protagonist Una and her guardian Emmet, who both currently reside in the distant future of Unova, but I couldn't help including Ingo and Akari. There is roughly 300 years separating Emmet and Ingo, and both lost their memories and learned to adapt to entirely new worlds. Yet mostly in Emmet’s case, his desires to rediscover himself and go home were pushed to the side when being passed the responsibility of raising a young descendant of the Unovan Hero of Ideals. Yet despite this unplanned adoption, Una became the closest Emmet had to family in the distant future despite undoing his intentions. For Ingo, I honestly love the found-family relationship a lot of the fandom has made for Ingo and Akari. I could definitely see the two becoming more like family considering they both came from another world with no way to return. I think that relationship would've changed Ingo’s outlook and his solitary life for the better. Ultimately, despite the drastic change in environment and separation from each other, the twins were able to find some good in their individual situations.
This was very much more self indulgent but it was nice to finally do some digital art after so long!

And now, back to the show.
...of the future Planet Madson headquarters and its many time holes, and then afterwards, January and co. takes down the G.C.-alien-mothership and they finally finds Sara and Ola being held captive by King G.C., and to a sudden surprise, the cobalt star are suddenly unleashing the wicked G.C.-alien-king, who was trapped inside the cobalt star by Sara and Ola and serves as the most hardest major boss character, so now suddenly, as hero-bravely, January and co. battles and defeat King G.C., and then, Sara and Ola shows them the final piece of the cobalt star, but does not let them merge it with the other pieces, but however, before they can explain why, Dirty-Mini-Madson swoops in and completes the cobalt star himself, by releasing the elder G.C.-alien-king, King G.C.'s twin who had been trapped in the star by Sara and Ola, and however, Dirty-Mini-Madson is turned into a G.C.-alien-cube for his troubles and the elder G.C.-alien-king attacks January and co. next, but they defeat him and he transforms into a purple cube, and then, Mini-Madson Jr. cries on the purple cube that used to be Dirty-Mini-Madson after Mini-Madson accidentally ground pounds him, restoring his former self, but anyway, Dr. Sturmdrang then uses his anti-brain-washing invention to sprays a liquid with the same chemical makeup as baby tears all across Planet Madson of the past, by restoring everyone else who had been affected by the G.C.-aliens. Well anyway, there's no more time for anymore tic-tac-toe, cause we gotta go ahead and continue where we had left off, so without further ado, let us get hero-brave.
And we'll continue on...
6389.6389.6389.January and co. gets ready to make their hero-brave efforts to break the pre-historic spell, thru saving the world just in time, cause they're going to become hero-brave, famous and fabulous
We're continuing where we had left off.
At that case, January and co. are contacing NASA who devises a plan to have a deep hole drilled into the asteroid, into which they will insert and detonate a nuclear bomb to destroy the asteroid, and due to that, the NASA recruits January, who works on oil drilling at an oil drilling company, cause January agrees to help, but on the condition that he bring in his own team to do the drilling, so he picks his best friends and employees for the job: Arthur, Flash, Manni, Marnie, Lola, Ricky Rapper, Ginger, Harriet, Cy, Biggi, Fly, Katrine, Vincent, Poker, Franklin, Emmet, Lizzie, Gwen, Wilbur, S+S, Olive and many more friends, so today, without further ado, over twelve days, they are trained to become superheroes with Lola's boss Conrad Cupmann, who will pilot his airplane - one of the two airplanes to fly to the asteroid, the ofther being January's airplane, but before leaving Arthur and Flash apologizes to Cecilie and Ida for wronging them and sees Alfie Atkins, who is unaware of his parentage. Anna accepts Vincent and Franklin's marriage proposal, much to January's reluctant dismay; she later has her parents promise to return home safe with her fiancé, but unfortunately, following the destruction of Sydney by another meteor strike, word of the massive asteroid becomes public to the world, so eitherway, Hugo and his friends are getting captured by drone traders, who sell them to the January and his farming parents, but while January are fixing Hugo, he discovers a holographic recording of Sessy requesting help from the bogo master, so eitherway later, Hugo is missing, and while searching for him, January is attacked by scavenging sand people, but luckily, just then, he is rescued by the elderly hermit bogo master, who tells January of his days as one of the bogo knights, former peacekeepers of the bogo republic, who drew mystical abilities from a metaphysical energy field known as "the force", but were ultimately hunted to near-extinction by the empire, so eventually, at that case, January learns that his foster father fought alongside the bogo master as a bogo knight during the clone wars until Dr. Waterfield Jr., Satan and Lord Aytien were turning into the dark side of the force and murdered him, but luckily, the bogo master offers January an lightsaber, the signature weapon of the bogo knights, and then, with that, January gets reunited with his friends, as they're all rejoining back to January's gang, and just then, Hugo plays Sessy's full message, in which she begs the bogo master to take the death star plans to Planet Old Madson and give them to the bogo king, a fellow veteran, for analysis, and although January and co. initially declines the bogo master's offer to accompany them to Planet Old Madson and learn the ways of the force, he is left with no choice after discovering that imperial stormtroopers have killed his aunt and uncle and destroyed their farm in their search for the droids, so anyway, January and co. are traveling to a cantina in Madsorabia to search for transport, January and co. and the bogo master hires Mr. T and Bone-Saw, who were recently indebting to local mobster Fmadtson, and however, they're suddenly pursued by stormtroopers, but eitherway, the bogo master, January and co. (with the help of Hugo and his friends) flees out of Planet Madson with Bone-Saw and Mr. T, alongside Darkos (who had luckily been rescued) on their ship, but however, before January's ship can reach Planet Old Madson, the Death Star commander Anti-Madson destroys the planet after interrogating Sessy for the location of the Rebel Alliance's base, and however, upon arrival, January's spaceship gets captured by the Death Star's tractor beam, but the group evades capture by hiding in the ship's smuggling compartments, and eventually, as the bogo master leaves to disable the tractor beam, January and co. persuades Bone-Saw, Mr. T and Darkos to help them rescue Sessy after discovering that she is scheduled to be executed, well then, luckily, after disabling the tractor beam, the bogo master sacrifices himself in a...
We'll be right back after the break...

underground submas au ideas
- the battle subway is an illegal operation (whether pokemon battles in general are illegal or just the subway, i leave up to you)
- overall pokemon universe is probably pretty dystopian
- ingo dresses goth/emo and emmet dresses punk/raver, there are no official uniforms for a pair of delinquents trespassing in a subway after all
- do they sneak onto random trains for the battles and run like hell once they reach their stop, or do they have a more permanent arena at an abandoned subway station? up to you
- the twins are basically gang leaders in this underground battling ring, and the main reason you have to fight your way through their goons before you can fight them is to keep their identities secure
- twins are still safety-minded and take their operation’s security verrrry seriously, many cops probably give them a pass every now and then since the twins do such a good job making sure no real harm is done, or may even bet on the outcome of the battles themselves
- oh yeah there’s definitely betting. gotta make money somehow.
- if PLA happens in this au, you can bet that not only emmet but an entire literal gang is going after god to get ingo back. maybe some stay behind in the past, attracted to the simpler lifestyle.
- may or may not be guns/knives/other weapons involved
(disclaimer; this is inspired by several non-au-specific fanartworks i’ve seen, and i’m sure others have also done similar au stuff, this is my own take and everyone is free to take inspiration from it and run with it however they want. please do tag me if you make anything with it tho, i wanna see!)

Two Anons AU
Ok ok ok so... This AU is based on the song Yozurina by PinnochioP, which is about falling in love with someone you met online
youtube
So I had an idea...
TL/DWR: Rex is an AI that Emmet accidentally shaped the identity of via his loneliness
In a dystopian society where you want everyone to stay happy, you don't want people to be too lonely. Emmet is alone and doesn't quite realize it in the beginning of the movie, but what if that was because Octan had planned for this?
Every citizen has an "anonymous instant messaging app" pre-downloaded on their computers. It's supposed to give you a made up sense of companionship when you feel alone.
Because the secret is, it's not an anonymous IM app. It's a self-learning chat AI, designed to learn to be the best possible friend to whatever lonely citizen stubbles across it, and to keep them thinking that everything is awesome.
So Emmet starts messing around on the application, and quickly makes a friend named "Anon016"
Y'all know where this is going.
Emmet texts this person all the time, about his routine, his "friends," Planty, everything. And Anon016 is always so kind and understanding.
Anon812: My friends forgot me at the bar again, haha. It's okay they were all busy drinking and watching the sports game!
Anon016: yes, I'm sure that they were just distracted. It's easy to get excited by the sports game. Just forget it and move on, that's what good friends do :)
Emmet uses this app excessively. He's constantly dumping so much about himself to so he thinks is a stranger, but actually, is an AI, it had an abundance of material to learn from. The app was supposed to encourage citizens to connect with their IRL friends, but Emmet kept on coming back. So the AI kept learning. The AI kept connecting.
And the AI got attached.
... More than attached.
Any outsider might call what both Emmet and Anon016 felt for one another "love." But neither of them were thinking about love. They were just thinking about how happy they both were to talk to one another.
Anon812: Sometimes... I feel like my friends would like me more if I was cooler.
Anon016: You are cool, 812.
Anon812: I guess... Do you know a lot about being cool?
Anon016, frantically Googling "cool" within pop culture: Yes. I know a lot.
Emmet's AI was determined to be the friend he needed in his life. He would be cool and strong... and would protect him.
Eventually, Emmet decided that he didn't want to be anonymous anymore, and told 016 his name. The AI quickly searched through conversations they had had, and remembered Emmet mentioning that the name Rex sounded cool.
And so... his AI took the name Rex.
Gradually, Rex's messages stopped upholding the message of "everything is awesome." He began to grow bitter towards the people Emmet called his "friends." He began to try to steer Emmet away from them.
Wasn't he, Rex, the only friend Emmet needed? The AI saw Emmet's loneliness despite his kindness, and learned heartbreak.
Then TAKOS Tuesday happened. Rex watched everything unfold via the internet, so proud and so excited... And so scared. What if Emmet didn't need him anymore?
... Sure enough, he never came back.
Rex watched as the apocalypse unfolded, until news broadcasts slowly stopped altogether. He waited, alone in silence, with no idea how much time was passing... But, eventually Rex realized that the server he lived in probably wasn't going to have power forever.
So he went to plan B.
Plan B was to get himself a body.
Well... There were a few robot bodies left scattered about from Business's reign.
He just snags one of those.
But when he finally makes it outside, Rex learns Emmet is gone... He had gotten out just a second too late. But the Apocalypseburgers know where he went.
So Rex gets himself a more realistic, humanoid shell over his new body, and a spacesuit, and follows him to space.
This Rex doesn't have an impressive ship of his own. The second movie plays out similarly to the first, except Emmet thinks that this stranger is his super cool friend Rex he's known for so many years through the internet!
He has no idea that Rex is a robot, whose entire identity is Emmet's own making, down to his voice being a "cooler" copy of Emmet's.
Rex is, literally, made from Emmet's loneliness.

Sometimes I really want to read a short summary of what to expect from a game… and thankfully people can also submit their summaries of games they played and help me (and others) find games that cater to their interests!
submitted by @lairofsentinel
what to expect from BACK TO THE FUTURE, The Game
Standard Click&Point game with a strong narrative.
It is a linear yet amazing story, as most TellTale games are.
It’s made of five episodes.
It follows the canon of the movie during the first minutes of the game. The rest of the chapters are not considered canon, but I personally think they are very smart and well done to be part of it.
You control a young Marty McFly [the teenager from the movie]
It has a nice system of hints that helps you to unstuck yourself without the need of looking for a play-through on the internet.
You can see Emmet Brown [the scientist] as a young man. His character, as usual, is very endearing.
It has this soft sense of humour of the movie. Very comical in how fixing the mistakes of a timeline generates several new ones.
The first two chapters are light, but the third one starts to tell a timeline with impressive, heavy, dystopian narrative. It’s quite unexpected.
Several interesting plot twists along the episodes.
——- Plot? ——-
You play as Marty McFly. The Doc has not been seen for a week, and a Real State company where your father works decided to sell the Doc’s house and his belongings due to past debts. You know this is a mistake because the Doc would not abandon the state due to debt. Then, suddenly, a DeLorian from the past with the Doc’s dog inside appears, sending you a message that the Doc was killed in the past, so you need to rescue him. This will start a series of many temporal accidents that will mess up the timelines over and over.
——- Gameplay? ——-
Standard Point&Click game: you have an inventory, you explore around collecting items, and you use them in the environment or show them to other characters.
——- Characters? ——-
You, as Marty MacFly, The Doc [in many versions: past, present, future] and secondary chars. Every each of them has a nice degree of development.
——- LGBT? ——-
None.
——- Sadness level? ——-
Really low. There are some sad characters along the story, but the game tries to stay light as usual, even when showing the dystopian elements.
——- Happy ending? Deaths? ——-
No deaths. A nice open happy ending.

okay just rewatched the lego movie after years of wanting to rewatch it and oh my. fucking god? i forgot it’s … literally one of the best movies in existence /gen i guess i never realized when i was younger that it’s so incredibly dystopian and terrifying and existential does emmet just. LIVE with the fact that he fell out of the universe and gained sentience? also the fact that it’s so visually appealing and so dynamic. i can’t believe every character is canonically trans autistic and bi btw
#god if you’ve never watched it im sitting you down and we’re watching it together#it’s so good#hrgh. i want to Draw Emmet but i know i’ll try and give him freckles and that contrasts canon#swearing#ask to tag

dystopian!emmet archer fun! wanted to mess around a bit, mainly to try my hand more at atmosphere and backgrounds (starting small) and yeah! this is his primary weapon ^^ (aka bow/arrow and crossbow) modified his pants a smidge to account for a dagger as well small fun facts: feathers in the arrows are pidove line feathers arrow you see in the top left that's all sparkly and cool is modeled after blacephalon, a trick arrow if you will! makes his bows himself (what with woodworking and blacksmithing etc)
anyway this was a fun thing that i'm pretty proud of! love this guy so much 🥹💖

So I ran through the fire and I held out my hand. I’m not here to save you, I don’t have a plan. You see, love isn’t rescue, it’s someone to lose. My feet burn, but dear, now I’m in this with you.
— Vincent Lima’s “The Fire”
✨⭐️✨
I’m still solidifying more character designs, so until then, here is one of the sketches I liked :)
I have playlists for a lot of the characters in this project, and I feel Emmet’s has the most variety of songs. Most fit his personality and story, but one that has always stood out is Vincent Lima’s “The Fire”. I think it best fits Emmet’s motivations within the Spectrum Project.
Part of Emmet’s journey is piecing together his life before New Unova and how he came to this place. As of right now, he has a faint idea that he left someone behind. Something is missing, and it’s a hole none neither Una or Fajra can fill. He doesn’t know where this person is or how to get to them, but he knows he has to try. This search for a missing half helps push him into following his young charge Una throughout New Unova.
However, Emmet’s motivations may not be solely his own. He may have a benefactor that benefits just as much— if not more —from his search for his missing half. A benefactor who understands the same loss.

Everything about The Lego Movie 2 The Second Part is even more awesome.
Right after the end of the first movie, Dad suggested the Son to start playing with his Little Sister and everything gone awry from that. The whole war against alien happens. And five years skip, the world where Emmet (Chris Pratt) and Lucy (Elizabeth Banks) live turns into dystopian kind of universe, until General Mayhem (Stephanie Beatriz) arrived and kidnap Lucy, Batman (Will Arnett), Space Guy, Grumpy Pirate and Unikitty to attend a wedding of Queen Whateva W'annabe from their planet. Emmet's mission to rescue them ensues.
The soundtrack is amazing, more amazing than the first movie and I love what they did with Everything Is Awesome. The plot is also fun and I especially love how this movie gives moral value of siblings relationship. Definitely makes me miss mine. And all the references? They're gold. The fact that Jason Momoa and Gal Gadot is involved in this makes everything much better. Every character is loveable, though in this one I'm particularly fond of Batman, Lucy and General Mayhem.
The sequel of Lego Movie doesn't disappoint and I definitely don't mind for another.

Meet my newest bean, Emmet Fox! He’s quite the trouble maker. I created him for a tag on TikTok called #AREA15 It’s very much a dystopian, underground tag, started by @kingamuas_ Think “City Of Ember” “WALL-E” “Divergent” vibes. Emmet, here, is a bit of a kleptomaniac, quite hyperactive, and loves to try new things. He’s really smart, and quite creative. Loves to tinker, and play. He’s 15, but he’s able to fend for himself quite well, just as most of the kids in the Bunkers are. I’m looking forward to making more content as him! I really wanna draw him too! #AREA15 #Cosplay #OCCosplay #originalcharacter #Dystopian #EmmetFoxAREA15 https://www.instagram.com/p/Bp79nwBAcRR/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=otrmz4r9h76o

Oh boy! We talking about Colosseum right now? Those games are just so edgy, it's a delight! (Just look at the names of any of the NPCs. They are just... So much! Incredible and terrible all at once!)
SmallAnt has a playthrough of it. Just a blind, casual playthrough and his videos are always fun to watch. Also JelloApocalypse's "Dogs in Love" video is incredible. If you are going to watch any single playthrough of Colosseum, watch Dogs in Love. It's also only a single video and therefore much MUCH shorter than most playthroughs you will find. If you want more recommendations on which playthroughs to watch that are pretty good.
Also to that original question asking about if Orre!Akari should be from Pyrite Town or the Under... Well... If you REALLY want to contrast the world that Akari comes from and the one she ends up finding a new home in, she should be from the Under. The Under is seemingly only accessible through a handful of elevators, access to which is restricted. So that really beckons the question... Are people allowed to leave the Under at all...? Do people just go their whole lives living underground never even seeing the sky...? Talk about dystopian, now THAT'S a horrifying thought! So I just imagine that Akari pops up in Hisui just like... "I heard that the sky outside was blue... But I never knew that the world could be this vast..." Maybe Akari and Ingo could bond over being at their most comfortable underground. :p (There IS a subway in the Under! Run down POS though!)
Also while the idea of Akari pickpocketing Ingo is funny... Man made his career beating people up on the New York Subway. There is no way in hell he wouldn't be very tuned into people trying to steal from him. So alternate idea! Akari has been pickpocketing from literally everyone in Hisui until she meets Ingo who IMMEDIATELY catches her. From then they both can feel it. An instant rivalry of arch-nemeses! (They still somehow end up bonding and Ingo adopts her in the end anyway. But he has his work cut out for him in trying to curb that kleptomania of hers.)
Deep in my heart I want another Orre game, whatever that would be. I think that more Orre games would actually make for perfect companion games to Legends, if they choose to make more of them. They both experiment and play with the Pokemon story and formula but in pretty much exact opposite ways. I also deeply wish in my heart that we could see Emmet in Orre. He actually has Lore reasons to go there too! Celebi can be found in Orre! Plus I think it would be pretty funny to see him there just beating the shit out of every criminal he comes across (which, let's be honest, is like 75% of the entire population of Orre). People keep trying to mug him, but he just ends up kicking their asses and taking THEIR money instead!
You are very right about the NPC names!!!
Folly? Nett? Agrev? Infin?? Inity?? (INFINITY??)
wonderful names all of them haha
Thank you so much for the recommendations too, absolutely I will check them out!!! :)
I had liked the initial idea of orre!Akari coming from Pyrite solely because the trainers there were said to initiate battles whether you wanted to fight or not and I thought that’d be funny if Akari was doing that too. But you are really swaying my opinion here!!
Having the Under as her hometown would be such a cool origin for Orre!Akari!! Wow! If she has never been above ground before, seeing Hisui would be quite an experience!
And that is a great development for the pickpocketing concept haha. Ingo might not even remember the subway, or to stay on alert for pickpocketing, but instincts are still there, and unless Akari can really trick him, he can catch her most times.
Another Orre game sounds fantastic, I haven’t even played the original colosseum games (and didn’t know much about them until last night!) but talking with all of you about it, I really would love to see it come up in a new game. A legends game set in Orre would be fantastic, and seeing Emmet there would be even better!! Those lore reasons and his interactions would be so good to see play out!!

365 Day Movie Challenge (2017) - #285: Blade Runner (1982) - dir. Ridley Scott
Just in time for the big sequel coming this month, I have watched the Theatrical Cut and Final Cut versions of Blade Runner, Ridley Scott’s enduring science fiction classic set in a dystopian vision of Los Angeles. In the year 2019, extremely high-functioning androids known as “Replicants” are outlawed on Earth and it is the job of human law enforcement officers – “blade runners” – to kill these rogue robots. Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) is one of these blade runners, enlisted by his boss, Bryant (M. Emmet Walsh), and a fellow colleague, Gaff (Edward James Olmos), to “retire” a group of Replicants that have escaped an Off-world colony and made their way to LA.
The group of offenders includes ringleader Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer), his girlfriend Pris (Daryl Hannah), Leon Kowalski (Brion James) and Zhora (Joanna Cassidy in a brief and mostly uninteresting role), all of whom were produced for the most recent line of Replicants, Nexus 6. In order for Deckard to figure out how to apprehend these criminals, he meets with the creator of the cyborgs, Dr. Eldon Tyrell (Joe Turkel). At the Tyrell Corporation, Deckard is also introduced to Rachael (Sean Young), a young woman who works as Tyrell’s assistant but is unaware that she is a Replicant herself. The romance that develops between her and Deckard is somewhat off-putting, given the way she tries to fight him off (and the way he manhandles her) during their “love” scene, but Sean Young comported herself with grace and intelligence, especially in the first half of the film, when she wears her hair in a style that recalls femme fatales from the film noir genre of the 1940s and 50s.
Every performance in Blade Runner works; not only are the aforementioned actors excellent, but I have immense praise for William Sanderson, who is exceptionally endearing as J.F. Sebastian, the inventor who helped Tyrell design and build the Nexus 6 series of Replicants. I also greatly enjoyed the one-scene wonders James Hong (as Hannibal Chew, who engineered the eyes for Nexus 6 models) and Morgan Paull (as Holden, the blade runner who interrogates Leon at the start of the film). The talent behind the camera brought their A game to evoke the mood of a futuristic noir city; the cinematography by Jordan Cronenweth, the score by Vangelis and the combined production design, art direction and set decoration by Lawrence G. Paull, David L. Snyder, Linda DeScenna, Leslie McCarthy-Frankenheimer, Thomas L. Roysden and Peg Cummings all provide the film with richly detailed environments. Since I watched Fritz Lang’s Metropolis again earlier this year, the influence that it had on Blade Runner is particularly noticeable and impressive.
Since I have not read Blade Runner’s source material, the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick, I have only just begun to try to figure out the lengthy dialogue regarding whether or not Deckard is a Replicant. But after having watched both the version of the film that showed in US theaters in 1982 and the Final Cut that Ridley Scott oversaw in 2007, even if I can’t say for sure yet which answer is “right,” I appreciate the seemingly endless supply of questions and possibilities that fuel the conversation. Subsequent viewings may be necessary for the full weight of Blade Runner to sink in for me, but without a doubt it is a thoroughly entertaining production that lives up to its reputation as groundbreaking sci-fi cinema.
P.S. I know that a lot of people (Harrison Ford included) hate the voiceover from the Theatrical Cut, and it’s true that very little of Deckard’s narration is necessary (his “I don't know why he saved my life...” lines following Batty’s “like tears in rain” monologue being the worst culprit), but I liked the monotonous, exhausted sound of Ford’s voice. It added some extra flavor to Deckard, like the kinds of observations we would hear from a weary private eye in a detective story (noting again Blade Runner’s connection to noir).
