hey guys!! i got my top surgery approved in august of the following year (2023), and unfortunately i am Poor. i live in eastern europe. as we all know eastern europe is not having a great time because we’re always the third world countries, but bc of the nearby war our financial struggles are even worse due to the rising prices of everything, lower incomes and the fear of war. any money i receive rn is going towards my studies and an emergency fund in case i gotta run from war.

my goal is 4000€, but any amount that will be collected by then will do, as it’ll lower the loan amount i’ll have to take out. my hopes are - i won’t have to take out a loan at all.

When I was in the tenth grade, my history teacher took us to a former residential school as a school trip. (Idk if it was part of the curriculum cause I hadn’t learned about the genocide before or since that time and most other classes with different teachers had no idea) apparently a couple of survivors had acquired the land to turn into a museum so the things that happened there weren’t forgotten.

The tour guide himself was a survivor who had a numbered tattoo or brand that all the other children had as well and he told us stories of himself and kids he knew who were victims of sexual assault, physical abuse and the kids who just vanished one day. The tour often has to stop because of the guide needing time to fight back the feelings these memories brought back. I thought it was amazing that he dedicated his life to reliving his traumas so that history could be learned from and not repeated but he shouldn’t have to.

All of us on the trip were shocked about how malicious these teachers could be, and also how things like this happened here and were entirely covered up.
