You know if canon macaque looks younger and yet looks so much like the empress and even has shadow powers like him, I could see rumors flying that he's the empress' illegitimate son. It's the kind of juicy drama that people would eat up. The empress betraying the emperor first, and the emperor finding solace with the son after finding out. Husband betraying husband, son betraying father. Fits right in with any messy mythology story
