đŻïž700 Days of you
SYNOPSIS: Part 2 for the infamous Bakugou texts
DISCLAIMER: Guys English isn't really my first language, though i understand it well i had my friend read over and give me feedback on what i should've changed and added I'm sorry if this is a let down but i tried really hard, i hope you guys enjoy any feedback is greatly appreciated, also I'm so sorry it took almost a week i kept scraping so many ideas sorry , ending was kinda rushed as well sorryyyy :((( <3
You've known Bakugou Katsuki for roughly 700 days, which is since you were 14. It's not like you knew him well, you just always saw him around your middle school, neighborhood, and at your parents' jobs. The first time you caught a glimpse of Bakugo was on the first day of middle school, the same year you would be leaving for high school. There wasn't anything special about that day, but what made you cherish that day was that he looked back at you as well.
The very first time you got to catch a glimpse of who Bakugou was as a person was through a school project. There aren't enough words in any dictionary to express your gratitude towards Aizawa for pairing you guys together. That day, you managed to get his number and meet up with him at a cafe. Looking back at that memory, you start to cry, not from sadness but embarrassment.
"Hey Bakugou, over here, I got some food for us," were the first words you had spoken to him directly. It seemed foolish to think about his response; would it be "Thank you so much, I love you, let's get married"? Not really. Maybe you had started reading too many romance mangas with Sero. "I donât like anything thatâs not spicy," he said bluntly, getting straight to the point. You would be lying if you said you weren't feeling as if he would explode any second.
"Oh, well, I can always ask for something else."
"Thereâs no need for that, let's just get started with the project."
"Oh, right. So, I was thinking..." As the afternoon soon turned into nighttime, you both had a pretty decent outline. Bakugou wasnât bad, at least you didnât think so. He was the type of person to get straight to the point of whatever he needed to communicate. Although he had trouble wrapping his head around the idea of teamwork, he was still there with you, giving you his views on your research and fixing the paper you had made.
When the night approached, you had both parted ways. That day, you could proudly say that Bakugou wasnât as entitled as everyone made him out to be; he was smart. It came as a shock to you - getting used to his yelling was hard, but seeing him care for a school project and be somewhat smarter than you was even more surprising.
The second time you caught a glimpse of Bakugou was when you were at work. Not that you wished to be a stalker, but that's what it seemed like at the moment. As he walked through the door, both of you were stunned to see each other. Although you wished you could crawl into a hole and die in that moment, you still had to stay professional.
"Hello, welcome to Mitsumuâs Fashion headquarters. What can I help you with today?" This was the most embarrassing moment in your life. He just stood there staring at you before he spoke up, "Yeah, Iâm just gonna go to my momâs office. She told me to stop by to help her with a photoshoot." "Oh yeah. Iâm supposed to be there. We can start the shoot in a few minutes. Just waiting for the next receptionist to clock in."
20 minutes went by, along with 20 minutes of your anxiety catching up to you, fearing what was to come. The shoot went by pretty smoothly in your opinion. Well, at least Bakugou posing in different outfits went well. The only thing that went south was when the other crew members whispered about you. It was as if you werenât there.
âSheâs such a screw-up, why canât they just fire her already iâm getting kind of annoyed having her aroundâ was a sentence that caught you in a trance, amongst the âugh not herâ and the âsheâs so weirdâ hearing that sentence was enough to make you stop dead in your tracks.Â
Words hurt. They seemed to cut deeper with every passing day at work. But then you realized that perhaps not all words hurt equally. It was Bakugou who made you believe in that last sentence.
âYou two over there near the lights, youâre not discreet at hiding your gossip, instead of focusing on a teenager at your grown age you should maybe focus on doing your job, see that light over there go fix it. Itâs your job. Sheâs doing hers quite fine, Such shame the person you seem to talk about put you both in shameâ
He looked at you, and you looked at him. In that moment you knew that deep down the angry Katsuki Bakugou everyone was so afraid of was a mask to hide how he felt. You realized at that moment that Bakugou wasnât a bad person at all, he just had issues, just like everyone else, And part of you understood that it was okay that he did that. Because by the end of that day, you could say, Katsuki Bakugou was a kind person.
In your eyes, Katuski was the kindest person you could think of if you get to know him that is, and although kind isnât a word people use when describing him, It was what you thought of him, and you certainly loved viewing him as such.
Katsuki Bakugou, who stayed sleepless nights with you in a cafe reading romance novels and hearing you rant about your favorite character
Katsuki Bakugou, who always glanced at you when sparring because you would cough more normally than what your drawbacks usually are
Katsuki Bakugou, who when you have no money pays for your food and orders more to disguise it as an eating competition saying he would win and ends up giving you his food because he claimed he didnât like it, even though itâs his favorite
Katsuki Bakugou, Who hated physical touch but would let you cling to him whenever you got excited, scared, or sometimes needed a shoulder to cry on
Katsuki Bakugou, Who isnât good at comforting people but tries to show support in different ways and when heâs cornered for being soft will always reply with âIâm just telling the truthâ
That was the Bakugou you knew, or at least you thought you did. But you couldnât recognize who stood in front of you.
Bakugo Katsuki, who now stood in front of you saying words you wish you could cancel out âWe were never friends, I only let you stick around out of pityâ. Maybe this was the kind of person you tried seeing in someone. But not everything goes how we want it to go, do we? In the end, it was you seeking comfort in someone else when they probably didnât want you around.
Maybe 700 days of thinking you knew Bakugou were probably reduced to 1, the one being today. You had concluded the person you once thought was kind was just a character you decided to make in your head.
âWhatâs up with you, you looked like you got run overâ How you wish you could smack your best friend right now, âShindo you think youâre so funny, could you at least pretend to care, you assfaceâ Yo Shindo, the only person you could say has seen through you, not just physically but emotionally as well.
Shindo just never seemed to leave you alone, having met you at recess one random day in kindergarten. He had spotted you and just followed you around wherever you went. You hit him multiple times with rocks hoping he would leave you alone âYou canât keep hitting me with rocks thatâs mean, and Iâm older than youâ were the first words he had told you.
âI donât care if youâre older just leave me aloneâ âNoâ â Why notâ âBecauseâ âBecause?â âJust Becauseâ From that day on Yo Shindo followed you everywhere and you listened to whatever he had to say. At this moment, you wish you had thrown a tree trunk at him when you were younger.
âGet up letâs go get ice cream, youâre even making ME depressed, I donât know what happened at UA, you donât have to talk about it just come with me to get ice creamâ
âHow did you get in my house in the first placeâ
âI broke inâ
âYouâre lying, no you didnât Yoâ
âIâm kidding your mom let me inâ
Hanging out with Shindo was always a way to decompress however you felt in situations. Being separated from Shindo at the start of High School was always hard to get used to. Not having him come visit you during lunch always felt so strange to you, half of your life seeing him come to your door with two bento boxes just disappear into thin air, leaving you lonely almost every day.
âShindo is there any way I could transfer to ShiketsuâÂ
âNot that I know of, why?â
âAt school, there was this guy I started getting close with, I liked him a lot. Maybe as friends, as more, I can't tell my feelings apart but I know one thing. We started getting closer and getting to know each other, I thought he was a great guy, he would do things that just made me feel loved, not necessarily romantically loved but I felt seen with himâ
âIt was that comfortable feeling I get when I'm with you. If that makes sense, I thought he felt the same way since he also opened up to me. He texted me yesterday saying he didnât want to be friends with me anymore, I thought it was a joke Shindo, i even went to the company to look for answers, I found him in the middle of a shoot and I was hoping he would tell me it was a joke but in the end, he told meâ We were never friends, I only let you stick around out of pityâ.â That sentence alone was enough to let Shindo know how you were feeling and as if on instinct he was quick to hold you against his chest as you explained how you felt
âItâs stupid to think he would feel something about me, I feel stupid Shindo I loved him a lot. Whenever I was with him I felt seen, those moments with him made me feel that someone other than you loved me, I feel so stupid, Iâm so stupid to think that the boy I fell in love with never existed, it was all just what I wanted to believe Shindoâ
âHe never cared for meâ
It had been weeks since you told Shindo about what happened. Things weren't going great, but they had taken a turn for the better. After school, Shindo would pick you up and bring snacks. Sometimes, he would take you to the library after school.
Your occasional hangouts became more frequent, and Shindo started dropping you off at school in the mornings in addition to picking you up. You began to notice a positive change in yourself, and you were proud to say that you were feeling a lot better. You weren't the only one who noticed this shift; your classmates noticed it too.
"Y/N, you seem happier, especially since that guy started dropping you off and picking you up. Are you guys dating?" Mina was quick to ask you as you showed up to class one day.
"You mean Shindo? Oh, weâre just childhood friends. He started helping me train and with my school work," you replied.
"You guys are always together. Itâs almost impossible to hang out without you having plans with him," Midoriya added.
"Sorry, guys. Weâve just been catching up," you tried to clear up any rumors that might have caused any miscommunication.
Everyone had their eyes on you, watching as you spoke so highly about your 'best friend'. Especially Katsuki; he watched as you smiled, recalling all of your memories with him.
It left a sour taste in his mouth watching as you talked highly about someone else. He was never one to express his emotions well, but with you, it felt easy to try and express how he felt. He knew from the moment he stayed up with you in a library reading âA Silent Voiceâ that he was developing feelings for you.
He was never one to indulge in emotions, but having those deep talks with you every night made him feel dumb for trying to deny his feelings.
He never confronted his emotions straight away, no matter how much Katsuki tried to adjust; he just couldnât accept the fact that he was growing in love with you. 'Falling in love' seemed like a terrible way to describe their way of loving someone else. But again, who is he to construe about love?
Not that he purposely wished for it to be that way. Katsuki wanted nothing more than to have done things differently back then.
As time passed, he couldn't get the image of you crying out of his mind. It pained him to see you that way. It wasn't just because he liked you, but also because he knew he was the cause of your sadness. The guilt consumed him, and the thought of you moving on only added to his pain. He couldn't help but feel like a fool for what he had done to you.
Katsuki was familiar with you. He knew about your favorite romance manga, your parents' connection to his, your love for fashion, your passion for romantic comedies, your favorite subject, and your usual order at the café where you both spent countless nights. He knew you well.
Katsuki knew all your fears - spiders, carnivals, clowns, open spaces, failure, and his mom when she yelled at your co-workers. He noticed all your symptoms and sometimes felt like both of your hearts were connected. He felt crazy saying it out loud, but those moments when you both trained together, you suddenly felt everything he could think of - dizziness, nausea, chest pain, shaking, and trembling. One thing that always stuck with him was whenever you felt anxious, you would bite your fingernails. Once, he took your hands and tried to stop you from doing that, and he noticed how quickly your heartbeat calmed down and started matching his instead.
"If anyone asked him why he was so in tune with knowing you on a general level, he would say out of courtesy. But if he was asked on a deeper level, he would say his heart was calm whenever you were with him, and he yearned for that feeling and you."
He always heard from his mom that love is the most powerful thing someone can experience, in friendships, relationships, or just emotional connections with someone. He believed the majority of what his mom claimed with thoughts of his own. Love is strong, but is it strong enough to make a person?
Certainly not he thought to himself as he watched you and Shindo laugh and push each other at the carnival.
He was tired of pretending he didnât love you, but he was also tired of not knowing how to talk to you after developing feelings for you. He messed things up, and he knows it.Â
It hurts to be something he so desperately wish he wasnât, a uncommunicative person, but it hurts more than anything being nothing without you
You were gone, no one knew where you had gone they just knew you werenât at your dorm
The only things left behind were boxes of letters and a blanket he had got you when you were sick. Everyone was distressed, teachers all around the dorms most reassuring students others talking with Nezu on finding out where you were
And all katsuki could do was hope he wouldnât rip the letter you had wrote to him through his tears and frustration from how tight he held the letter to his heart, hoping some way you could feel how his heart was beating and in hopes of you coming back
Katsuki
Tho the smartest yet dumbest person i know,
If youâre reading this it probably means i left, well kidnapped in other terms, iâve known for a while i would be taken, i had a gut feeling about this a long time ago so just in case i die, or donât make it back alive i wanted to write something for you.
Thereâs so many things i wish i wouldâve told you before i left, but sometimes not everything goes the way we wish for them to go, I Know you Bakugou, youâre probably mad i left, or youâre probably pretending to not care, maybe even wondering where i am, if you still care that is, youâve always been the type of person to think about things too often.
Thatâs not the real reason iâm writing this letter for you, thereâs so much i want to say but iâm afraid there wonât be enough time to do so, so iâll say it in this letter
Katsuki Bakugou, I am in love with you, i have been from the 700 days of knowing you, but words arenât enough to describe how i feel, i left a box under your bed, every reason why i fell in love with you is written in all of them. If i do end up being alive i want to say it to your face
But if i am dead, i want you to know youâre the first person iâve ever truly loved in this life and hopefully i can love you the same way in my next one
And with that i ask one last thing from you, youâre a person who hates changes but please, if anything does end up going wrong i want you to pursue your dreams for bring number one, iâll always be cheering you on
So for now this is my last goodbye Katsuki, Thank you for making me feel so at home, i still
think about what happened between us everyday but i hope the best for you in life, even if iâm not there
I love you, thank you for being my friend
Y/N
You were such a dumbass. How could he not love you, when you constantly ran through his mind, he tried to keep his emotions in touch but just as he opened the box you left him he was met with notes and items that reminded him of you. What hurt him even more was reading through all the notes you had wrote for him
One particular note had shifted his emotions complete
âHey katsuki, remember that time i kept freaking out over my school grades and you comforted me saying it would all be okay? I still think about that moment and how you held me close to your chest and we layed in bed, in that moment when i looked up at you i saw the reflection of my LED lights in your face and all i could think about was you, i wanted to kiss at that moment from how pretty your eyes lookedâ
In that moment Bakugo Katsuki knew that what he felt for you wasnât some simple puppy crush, he craved you he knew that whatever he tried convincing himself wasnât true at the moment
Not when he was clutching your hairpins and notes close to his chest wishing the burning sensation in his heart would stop
Weeks had gone by, You had been found by the pro heroes and all he could think about was how he wishes he was the one saving you instead. But atlas he was glad you were safe
When he had gotten word you were found but your condition was critical he wanted nothing more than to just run out of the dorms and find you, but he knew he wouldâve been stopped by the teacher. So he waited, he visited the hospital you were staying at everyday, constantly asking when they would be taking visitorsÂ
Everyday he was met with the same answer ânoâ ânot yet weâll let you know when sheâs readyâ. It was killing him not knowing whether he would get the chance to clear up his mistakes and confess to you.
But all of those thoughts suddenly vanished as he waited for the nurses to let him in
You had no memory whatsoever on when you had been rescued, according to the nurses you had woken up 6 days after being rescued by the heroes, and according to one of the nurses there was a boy who constantly kept looking for you, surely it was Shindo, the nurses had said they would bring him to your room
Shock wasnât enough to describe how you were feeling at the moment, Staring at the guy you least expected in front of you was surely not on your bucket list at all, you were going to speak first until he beat you to it
âI have a lot to say to you so just listen to what i have to say firstâ
âBack then, i didnât really know how to deal with the sudden shift in my heart, watching you smile and do things we would normally do, felt so different one random day, I donât know when it started but watching the way your eyes would shine made my heart tighten, i knew that whatever was happening to my emotions wouldnât go well on my partâ
âSo i distanced myself, i never meant any of the words i said at all, i was a asshole for saying that to you, iâm not expecting forgiveness straight away, but watching you get so close to someone else made me feel uneasy, not in a possessive way, but in a way that makes me remember everything you were doing with him you had done all of that with meâ
âAnd when i realized my feelings and had everything sorted out, i was waiting to confront you but i waited too long and you had been kidnapped, When i read your letter i knew that if i were to get you back i would tell you as soon as i could, i didnât wanna risk you leaving without hearing what i have to sayâ
âIâm in love with you, I grew in love with you and your stupid smile, your stupid rants, I love you like iâve never loved anyone before. Youâre the only person that has made me smile and I yearn for that feeling and I crave you most importantly. Before i met you i didnât understand the true meaning of what love is but being with you made me realize itâs okay to not have everything figured out and just enjoy the presentâ he had finished off
âYouâre an assholeâ
âI know thatâ
âYou made me cryâ
âI know thatâ
âBut at the end of the day itâs you i would rather spend all the time with arguing and clearing every mistake with katsuki, I love you and i hope we can both learn more about each otherâ
Though he didnât kiss you in that moment he did pull you in a hug that warms your heart. Every day youâre thankful you got to know Katsuki 700 days of knowing him made your heart warm at the thought of getting to say you had feelings for Katsuki. Things would certainly be tough from that moment on but if it was with Katsuki it was definitely worth it in your eyes.
A/N: That letter part was heavily ib the galaxy is endless on ao3 ugh i love it sm

Mama's Boy | Part 4
Pair: Jake x neytiri x human reader (trio couple) x sully children's
Warning: Kinda sad, cozy moments, conflict, family problems
Note: This part may be a bit long, but I hope you still enjoy it. I think only one part is left, but we'll see. Do you like the reading to be this long or shorter?. btwI recently opened a KO-FiâŠ. if you want to leave any tips or support I would appreciate it (it would help me to buy real coffee xD).
AVATAR MASTERLIST | Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6(final)
7 years ago⊠You were quite calm decorating and cleaning your home, neytiri was out for a walk with kiri and baby tuk. While jake had gone out to practice with lo'ak and neteyam. Leaving you alone, and peaceful. But all that quiet was interrupted, when you heard a lo'ak crying. He came rushing in, straight towards you. He was wiping away the tears that were falling on his cheeks. "MAMA" lo'ak whimpers, coming towards you. Throwing himself into your arms, not caring what you were doing. The boy wrapped his arms around your neck, burying his face in your neck. Lo'ak was 7 years old, and already about your height. But that didn't stop his mother from comforting him, and right now he needed it. "HoneyâŠwhat's wrong? You're hurt" you push him away a little, taking a quick look. You see that he doesn't have any injuries, so what was wrong with him. You hug him again, caress his back. And you cuddle him from side to side. Trying to calm the child down. After a couple of minutes, you feel lo'ak move away a little. You wipe his face a little. "Are you more calm?" you smile at him a little trying to comfort him.
"YesâŠit's just thatâŠ" lo'ak tries to speak, but stops when he feels his tears coming again. "Calm down loveâŠwhat's wrong" you speak, you were worrying about whatever had happened, it was really mortifying him. "I was with daddyâŠpracticing my shots with my bow. It was my turn and " lo'ak takes a deep breath. You already knew what the boy was going to say, you gently caress his cheek. "I didn't get it rightâŠand I would try again many times. But dad told me that neteyam was better at archery than me. And that's not true!!!" Lo'ak begins to cry. "LoveâŠdaddy only said that for your own good, to make you better" you know it's not right what jake said. You hated it when jake compared lo'ak to neteyam. "NoâŠhe said neteyam was much better than me in everythingâŠthat I should be like him. And I don't want to be like neteyam, neteyam is ugly" lo'ak yells a little.
"Hey, first neteyam is not to blame for anythingâŠand second, I will talk to your father. But loveâŠdon't make a big deal out of those comments. Your father sometimes doesn't think about what he's going to say, okay?" you try to reassure the boy. "Why don't you go and find spider, and you two can play. Yeah?" you say, watching as the boy perks up.
That same night, you and Jake have a big argument. Even neytiri had to step in. She was never on either side. It was so bad, that you even took lo'ak and left the house to sleep with mo'at. Behind you were kiri and neteyam. "You can't take the children with you," shouts Jake in anger. "Of course I can, I'm not going to leave them here with an immature person" you shout back, neytiri was trying to rationalize with you. But she ends up following you, giving Jake a disapproving look.
Present dayâŠ
"momâŠcan you help me with this?" asks neteyam, approaching you. He was holding a pretty feather ornament. "Sure come here sweetie" you speak, inviting him to sit down in front of you. You get up from the floor, to now work on his hair. The whole family had gotten up early to finish packing, almost everything was ready. But there were more things to pack, now that they had spent time in the metkayina clan. As you worked on neteyam's hair, you noticed how the scar from his wound had healed, but it was still there. "HoneyâŠI'm glad to see you are healing" you speak, listening as neteyam laughs but then goes silent. "mom for a moment i thought i was going to die and never see you again" neteyam says. Lo'ak was sitting on your left side, he heard what his brother said. He quickly tapped him on the shoulder. "BroâŠdon't say that" lo'ak didn't like to talk about it. You on the other hand felt sorry, you almost lost one of your babies and you weren't there. You wrap your arms around his shoulders, and give him a hug. The tightest hug you can. "I would have found a way to see you, you know that right?" you speak, watching as the boy turns to look at you. "I know momâŠthat's why I stopped worrying" neteyam laughs a little. Settling down so you can continue to work on his hair.
Meanwhile tonowari was on his way to the sully's marui, that same morning he woke up early and discussed his decision with ronal, the woman strongly disagreed. She did not like the idea of having a human in her clan. But she had to support her partner's decision. Tonowari quietly approached the entrance of the marui and stood in silence. To his surprise, he had the scene that lo'ak was trying to explain to him the night before. Neteyam was sitting, while you were combing his hair. Lo'ak sat next to you eating a piece of fruit, while laughing with kiri. The children looked so happy around you, they felt safe. He walked in a little, causing his presence to be noticed by jake. The whole family looked at him. "tonowariâŠis something wrong?" asks jake, finding the man's presence in their home strange.
"I came here because I want to talkâŠto the whole family" says tonowari, looking at you quickly. I had to admit, your presence was strange. "Come in," says Jake. Everyone turns their attention to the man who had now sat down. "Your sonâŠlo'ak" tonowari points to lo'ak quickly. Jake looks at him with concern, what lo'ak must have done now. Swallowing hard, praying it's nothing bad. "The boy talked to me and I must say he was mature enough to stand up for his mother" tonowari says.
"I'm sorry if he said something he shouldn't I" jake started to apologize, but tonowari raises his hand to pause him. "He didn't do anything wrongâŠin fact he convinced me. I accept that human stays between us" tonowari says, lo'ak looks at you and smiles wide. Holding your hand tightly. "Are you serious?" jake couldn't believe what he was hearing. "YesâŠI can imagine how bad it must be for the family not to have a member in it." Tonowari can see how everyone in the family gets excited. "But I have one condition," Tonowari says, staring at you. "Yes tell meâŠwhatever" you speak, tonowari is surprised. For the first time he was talking to you face to face, he must admit you were very beautiful. And he could notice some features you shared with your son, lo'ak.
"I will give you a testing time. You will have to live as a metkayina, swim, fish, work as a metkayina. You will not be anyone's burden, and you will earn your own place here in the clan, that's for sure," says Tonowari. He was serious, you only had one chance. If you did something wrong, or made a mistake it was all over. "Don't worry, I will do my best. I assure you I won't cause any trouble," you say. "They're going to love her," says Kiri excitedly, getting up from the floor to hug you. This news makes the whole family happy. Tonowari says goodbye and leaves. The whole family is silent for a moment, analyzing what had happened. This was a lot of information, for such a short time. "MomâŠyou are staying here!!!" says lo'ak, the boy is so excited. He was about to cry. The only family member who hadn't said anything was jake, he was still sitting in the same position.
"Lo'akâŠwhy did you go talk to tonowari and not say anything to me" jake sounded upset, in fact he looked upset. "Jake" neytiri starts talking, she already knew what jake was going to come out with. "Dad it's just that you had argued with him and I wanted to fix things" lo'ak tries to explain his point of view. "You know this could have ended worse" jake says, you pick yourself up off the floor. Making a noise like 'ha'. Jake looks at you in surprise. "I can't believe it, your son has done something wonderful. And instead of congratulating himâŠyou're scolding him? You are unbelievable jake" you speak, while crossing your arms. Neytiri could see your position, and if there was one thing she knew, it was that you were not an easy woman. You might be small, but your character and the power you had over Jake was gigantic. "Okay, everybody calm down. Lo'ak you did a great job" neytiri reaches up to stroke the boy's face. "And jakeâŠY/N is right, no need to complain" neytiri speaks, hoping everything will calm down.
Jake takes a deep breath, stretching his arms in the air. Shaking his body a little, stretching out one of his hands to signal for you to come closer. He had a goofy grin on his face, when he felt you approach his arm. Skillfully grabbing your waist, with a quick movement pulling you into his body . Cuddling you into his arms, filling your cheeks with kisses as your laughter could be heard throughout the marui. This was supposed to be a moment of happiness for the family, they were finally going to be together after a long time apart. That same morning, everyone helped to unpack all the belongings. Neytiri was thankful that the heaviest things had not been packed, because they did have a lot of things. Also that night, the family celebrated like in the old days, of courseâŠinside the marui and in silence. Preparing a good meal, dancing and laughing about the old days. It felt so nostalgic, it had been a long time since they had had such a good time.
Everyone got ready to rest. The boys settled into their hammocks, ready to sleep. As in the old days, you went one by one to say good night to them. Giving them a kiss on the forehead. First it was tuk, then kiri, then neteyam and for the last it was lo'ak. "Goodnight my precious baby" you speak, giving him a kiss on the forehead. Watching as lo'ak giggles tenderly, he looked so adorable like that. "Mama can you sleep with me?" lo'ak asks you, causing a smile from you. "LoveâŠ" you didn't know what to say to him, lo'ak was too old for you to sleep with him. But you felt sorry for your boy, he had missed you so much. But if you were going to be fair, all the children in the family had asked to sleep with you. Just before you could give an answer, Jake came up behind you. "ahh no, your mom is going to sleep with usâŠand that's it" says jake, seeing how lo'ak's face is one of sadness. "I promise you that later mom will sleep with you, ok?" you speak, saying goodbye again to lo'ak.
Jake and you walked away. Jake looked back, to see lo'ak giving him a dirty look. This surprised Jake, chuckling to himself. As he walked you over to the hammock you shared. "Ney" you hum, as you climb into the hammock. Snuggling into neytiri's chest, she snuggles you into her arms. Feeling jake settle in behind you. "Your son hates me," jake says, burying his head in the back of your neck. "Which one?" you speak, as neytiri lets out a laugh. "Hey" jake slaps you on your ass. You and neytiri continue to laugh. "I'm talking about lo'ak, you would have seen the way he looks at me" jake was still shocked, lo'ak had never looked at him like that. "You asked for itâŠyou're taking his mom" says neytiri. "Yeah but his momâŠshe's ours too, isn't she?" says jake, leaving a few wet kisses on your neck. Neytiri hugs you tighter on her chest, you felt so good. You had missed them too much.
2 months laterâŠ
You had gotten used to life in the new clan pretty fast. You had started taking some lessons with ronal on fishing, since you couldn't ride an ilu. You had to do everything the traditional way, according to the na'vis. But for you it was normal, humans had to do things traditionally all the time. So fishing with a net, collecting the things you had to use, even though it was more difficult, you had managed it. Ronal was still not very sure about you, whenever you were with her there was always your bodyguard, Neytiri. Your partner did not leave you alone with Ronal at any time. According to Neytiri Ronal could tempt you with your life. You thought she was overreacting, but you didn't argue with neytiri about such things, she had always been that way with you.
On the other hand, tonowari could tell that everything jake and lo'ak had told her about you was true. You were the most peaceful person he had ever met. He had barely listened to you, well⊠he hadn't talked to you much. But whenever he saw you, you were always with your children, or helping a clan member. Tonowari would approach the na'vis and ask them what they thought of you. They would always respond with a 'she is very nice''I like her, she is a very good person'. This would relieve it a little, but you were still on probation.
On the other hand, your relationship with your family was in a good state, better than ever. Everything seemed to be running smoothly. Or so you thought. It was morning around 10:00 am as far as you could calculate. Kiri had insisted the night before that you accompany her to look for shells on the beach where she liked to go. You accepted without a problem, you had nothing to do and wanted to spend time with one of your girls. Lo'ak was invited to the expedition, of course he didn't have to askâŠhe was always with you. If he wasn't with his friends, it was behind you. "HeyâŠwatch out, the sun looks like it's going to be very hot" says neytiri. If the sun was bad for the na'vi, it was worse for you. You joke a little, watching as neytiri approaches you to put some kind of cream on you to protect you from the sun. You and Jake joked that this was a sunblock bomb, because the smell was so strong. "Ahh I hate that smell!!!" you complain, but neytiri nips you a little to stop you from moving. "YeahâŠbut you're going to thank me when you don't get burned like a tapirus" neytiri sounds angry, seeing that you don't take her concern seriously.
You say goodbye and leave with kiri and lo'ak towards the beach. They arrived quickly, the place was very close. Kiri was lying in the water, sinking her face from time to time. While you were sitting next to her, you had your head back and your eyes closed. Enjoying the warmth, it had rained a lot the previous days. The weather felt great. While lo'ak was playing eywa knows where. You could just hear the water splashing in the distance. Out of nowhere, you feel someone approach and make a spray of water fall on your face. "Lo'akâŠwatch out!!!" you scold, seeing the boy laughing in front of you. He looked like a puppy about to make a mischief. "Mom, I want you to meet someone?" says lo'ak. This gets your attention, settling in straight to look at him. "Is it a girl? Tsireya?" you ask, lo'ak gets nervous and moves his face in a 'no' expression. "It's something betterâŠit's my other brother" lo'ak says, you look at him curiously. Lo'ak had gone crazy, as far as you knew the only brother he had was neteyam. "You mean teyam?" you say.
Lo'ak lets out a laugh, as he sits closer to you. "Mama no, he is ahhh he is a tulkun. I want you to meet him" lo'ak was excited, he wanted you to meet payakan. You think about it for a while, but you accept. You couldn't say no to that adorable little face. You tap kiri's shoulder. The little girl lifts her face. "What happened, Mom?" speaks Kiri, and you brush a few strands of hair out of her face. "Honey I'm going for a walk with lo'ak do you want to go?" you ask her. "Nooo mama just you and me" lo'ak complains, crossing his arms. "You don't have to yellâŠmom don't worry I'll be here a while longer and then I'll go home" kiri says.
"OkâŠ.but be very careful. I trust you" you speak, watching as Kiri smiles at you and goes back to playing with the little fish in the area. You get up from the water, accompanying lo'ak. He was already jumping up and down with excitement. Telling you all about his friend, how he met him and where he came from. All while walking towards his ilu. The trip was quite fast, lo'ak arrived getting up a little from his ilu. Calling out his friend's name. "Mama he will be here soon" lo'ak looks around, seeing if he saw his friend. "Don't worry if he doesn't come" you speak up, but remain silent when you see as a shadow below you. "Here he is!!!" lo'ak says, excited. Payakan comes out of the water, making a noise of greeting. "Payakan lookâŠthis is my mom. Remember I told you about her?" says lo'ak moving to the side, to take your hand. So that you would come closer to him. Lo'ak sometimes forgot that your legs were shorter and you were smaller. But you manage to stand now on the creature's flipper. While lo'ak's ilu begins to swim around.
"Mama he is payakan my brotherâŠand payakan she is my mama" lo'ak speaks, petting the creature. Tulkun makes another noise, and you startle a little. You had to admit that this was very new to you. You still didn't understand the language of signs very well, let alone this creature. "mama he says you are very pretty" says lo'ak. You could see the look of pride on his face, this was very important to him. "Thank you" you look at payakan, and he gets excited. Making a stream of water come out of his back. "Mama likes you very much" lo'ak says. You giggle a little, reaching over to pet the creature. It was very amazing and majestic. You and lo'ak spent the whole afternoon playing and hanging out together. For a moment, you just sit in lo'ak's ilu, watching the boy swim and play with his friend. You loved seeing him like that, so happy and carefree.
After a while, for some reason you started to feel sick. You had felt dizzy that morning, but you didn't think it was important. But now you were feeling worse, the dizziness was getting stronger and your vision was getting quite blurry. And not to mention the headache and stomach pain you were getting. "L-lo'ak" you yell under your breath. You were already writhing in pain, you lean forward. Trying to get your balance. The ilu of lo'ak noticed something was going on, and began to make a lot of noise. Catching lo'ak's attention, the boy stops swimming and takes a look at your location. He can tell how you were moving oddly, and his ilu looked a little uneasy.
He swims as fast as he can, coming towards you. "MAMA, MAMA!!!" lo'ak approaches and tries to get your attention. Lifting your shoulder, but he sees how you don't respond. You had fainted, your body was resting in the ilu. "Mom get up, what's wrong with you!!!" lo'ak is getting very desperate, what had happened to you, you were fine minutes ago. Maybe the sun was too strong, or you were sick. Lo'ak climbs into his ilu, carrying you in his arms. Leaving for the clan, he made his ilu swim as fast as possible, but he could not hold back his tears. You were still not getting up and he was getting desperate. "mama pleaseâŠget up" shouts lo'ak shaking you a little. The trip back was a long one for lo'ak, arriving at the coast. Shouting his father's name for him to arrive. "Dad!!!dad!!!help!!!" shouts lo'ak.
Jake had arrived at the marui, he was accompanied by neytiri. Kiri had told them that you and lo'ak had gone for a walk. But she didn't tell them where you were going, this made Jake a little nervous. Jake was very careful with you, and even more so since you were on probation. You couldn't cause trouble or else they would have to leave. Jake hears the shouts of lo'ak, who were approaching the marui. "What's going on?" neytiri gets up from the ground, running to the entrance accompanied by jake. Watching as lo'ak enters with his mother in his arms. You had woken up on the road, but a you were still very dizzy. "Y/N!!!" neytiri takes you in her arms, and quickly places you on the ground. "Lo'ak what happenedâŠwhat happened?" shouts jake, sitting down next to neytiri. Watching as the woman tried to stabilize y/n. "Honey, come on open your eyes" says jake, tapping you on the cheek. While neytiri placed a wet cloth on her forehead, jake tried to get your oxygen machine to pump out more oxygen (here I'm talking about the mask the reader is wearing).
After a while, neytiri managed to get you up. "Take some water" neytiri speaks, stroking your hair. You were sitting up, feeling tired and even a little dizzy. Lo'ak was standing all this time, watching as his parents tried to help you. "Don't worryâŠit was just a dizzy feeling" you laugh a little. "A simple dizzinessâŠma y/n you were unconscious" neytiri speaks annoyed. Meanwhile jake was walking from one side of the marui to the other. "Lo'ak what the hell happened? What did you do?" jake looks at lo'ak intensely. "IâŠmom and I were at the sea. We were visiting payakan" lo'ak says timidly. The poor boy looks at you quickly, trying to seek your help. "J-jake" you speak softly. But you watch as your partner ignores you, and moves closer to lo'ak. "Why are you so ignorantâŠyou know that's a dangerous place for your mother" jake yells.
"But daddy" lo'ak tries to defend himself. "Dad nothing⊠why are you like this? You're fucking irresponsible" jake yells again. But the words were like a knife to lo'ak, jake was acting as if the boy had caused this on purpose. "JAKE" you yell, getting up from the ground. Neytiri tries to stop you, but you walk towards jake. "What the hell is wrong with you?" you look at Jake in shock. "I'm telling him the truth, why can't he behave like neteyam" says jake.
"Because he's not neteyam!!!!" you yell as loud as you can. Lo'ak wipes away some tears and runs out of the marui. "Lo'ak come over here!!!" jake was going to stop lo'ak, but you stop him. "What do you want him to stay for?" you were annoyed, jake was always going overboard with lo'ak. He didn't half like how he talked to his son. "Why do you keep comparing lo'ak to neteyam? They are completely different people. Besides this whole situation is not his fault" you speak.
"But he knows he shouldn't take you to that place," Jake speaks. "Jake, I'm a grown womanâŠI do what I want. And I'm getting sick and tired of this attitude you have with our kids. I'm reaching my limit" you were so upset, you were turning red with anger. "Y/N listen to me" jake tries to speak.
"I don't want to listen to youâŠthis isn't something that's happening now. This has been going on for years. Have you ever wondered why your children look at you with fear, because yes, they are afraid of you? Have you ever asked them how they feel or what they want to do, no. You just give orders and think that everyone is doing what they want to do. You just give orders and think everyone here is going to follow them." You yell, pacing a bit all over the marui. Neytiri was sitting on the floor watching and listening to all the discussion. She wasn't saying anything, because she knows you were right.
"I think I'm tired of thisâŠI love you Jake, I love you with all my soul, but I think it's best if we go back to our home⊠"You lower your head, you felt bad and this whole situation was exhausting you more. You didn't want it to escalate to this level. "Let's go home?" jake gets a little confused, glancing quickly at neytiri. She lifts her shoulders, she didn't know what you were talking about. "I will go with lo'ak to our home, live with mo'at. If any of the children want to leave with me I will take them. But I will not leave them hereâŠgetting this treatment. Because they deserve to have a normal childhood" you had tears in your eyes. Leaving Jake there silent and stunned, as you walked towards the Marui's balcony. Neytiri gets up quickly chasing after you.
"Y/N!!!" neytiri holds your hand, you didn't want to look at her. You were too overwhelmed. "Tell me what you are saying is not true. You love us, you love me and Jake. We can work this out." neytiri makes you look at her. She knew you were right, but she couldn't let you go. Let one of her children go away. "I can't stand jake" you yell a little. Neytiri stands there in silence, she knew you weren't really saying it, you loved Jake. Something was happening to you. "You are not serious" neytiri sounded sad. "NeyâŠlet's go away, the two of us, let's go back home. I need to be home" you start crying, the more you talk. Neytiri pulls you to her chest, wrapping you in a very tight hug. "Ma y/nâŠbe calm. I miss our home too" says neytiri. Sitting there, with you in her arms.she sensed something was happening to you, something in you was changing, you weren't like that. Meanwhile, Jake was not far from you. He felt so badâŠthis was his fault.
"Do you think mom will leave us?" tuk looks at neteyam and kiri. The group of kids had been spying on their parents, when they saw lo'ak come out of the marui. The boy was sitting next to neteyam. He was still teary-eyed. "Well I'm going to my mama's," said lo'ak, he was upset. "IâŠI don't know. But I don't want mom to leave" neteyam looks back inside the marui. This is the first time he has seen his parents argue like this.
P.s I promise I will upload the next part soon. But I would like to know what you guys think so far. And what do you think is going to happen?

đđ€đđđđđš' đđđȘđđđ©đđ§ - đ„.đđȘđđđ đđ§đš
summary: paige meets yn for the first time, but has no idea that sheâs her coaches daughter
-> r is genoâs daughter, i know heâs like 70 but for the sake of the story letâs pretend that he has a younger daughter (26)
âą part 1 âą part 2 âą
đŠč masterlist
đđąđ đđĄđ đđąđ đ đđđ never felt better.
after two years studying abroad in spain, i was finally back home. i could see my family again, my dad again. he had no clue i was coming back now, he thought i was still overseas and he wouldnât see me for another month.
i knew he was at uconn, i was studying my degree there and he was the womenâs basketball coach. so i thought the best way to surprise him would be to show up at one of his practices. mom had given me the times of his practices, with the promise of making someone record his reaction to seeing me back for the first time.
i walk down to the gymnasium, hearing the light sounds of shoes squeaking from running on the court.
the doors to the arena are open, i walk in and the first thing i spot is my dad, his back to me and yelling instructions to a team of really tall girls.
the second thing i see is a six foot, hot, blonde woman. i knew who she was, paige bueckers is unmissable. and she was staring directly at me.
instead of approaching either of the two, i decide to sit on the bleachers for a bit and observe the practice. since i was in the states for my last year of studies, i might have to start coming to more of dadâs practices.
to spend time with him of course, and definitely not to see paige.
geno shouts at the players to take a water break and next thing i know, paige is walking straight at me.
âhey.â
âhi.â
i donât know what else to say, itâs the paige bueckers talking to me.
âi havenât seen you around here before, whatâs your name?â
âiâm yn.â
ânice to meet you, iâm paige.â
âyou looked good out there, paigeâ
the taller girl grinned down at me, and we got to taking for a bit. that was before geno called them all back from their break. paige left me with a wink and a promise to come speak again after practice. i held her to that and waited until they were finished before standing up.
my dad was yet to realise that iâd been here the whole time, and i was waiting for the right time.
when he told all the girls heâd see them tomorrow for practice again, i started walking towards him.
âhey dad.â
he whipped around at my voice and his eyes landed on me. i stood there grinning, waiting for him to say something. there were multiple players watching on, including paige, who didnât know that i was their coachesâ daughter.
âyn, youâre back?â
âiâm back, dad.â
he didnât say anything back, just swept me up in a giant hug.
i hugged him back as much as i could, even though he was taller than me by quite a bit. youâd think that being the daughter of tall parents would mean passing down the tall genes, but apparently my siblings took them all. so i was left to stand at only five-foot-eight.
that meant that almost the entire womenâs basketball team towered over me. speaking of, when geno finally put me down, the first person i turned to was paige who stood directly behind me the whole time.
âsurprise.â
i grinned up at her, and tried to hold back my laughter at her shocked expression.
âdamn, coachesâ daughter? i guess i canât take you out on a date now.â
she feigns sadness and i laugh out loud.
âwhat can i say, rules are meant to be broken.â
her faux sadness turned into a wolfish grin.
âi always was more of a rule breaker.â
i grabbed my phone out of my pocket then, pulling up a fresh contact.
âput your number in. iâll text you.â
paige didnât hesitate to type in her contact, handing my phone back to me in record time.
âiâll look forward to it, pretty girl.â
i could feel my cheeks blush at the pet name, before i gave a small wave and followed my dad over to where he was just finishing gathering his things and leaving.
it was later that afternoon when i decided to bite the bullet and send paige a message.
to: paige
hey itâs yn, iâm free this friday if you are?
i didnât expect a reply back so quickly but within the minute, my phone had vibrated multiple times.
from: paige
hey pretty girl
iâve got practice @ 10, but we could go for a late lunch if thatâs okay with you?
to: paige
sounds good, iâll see you then ;)
never in my life did i think iâd be going on a date with the paige bueckers.

I have ten billion WIP sketches I need to finish, but for some reason I stayed up from 9 PM to 4 AM conceptualizing, making patterns, sewing, painting and applying makeup on this stupid fucking felt squid......the detailing needs to be cleaned up cause there's only one coat of paint so far, but he's pretty much done
my neighbors probably think I'm insane because I was running around the yard clenching this toy kallamar in a death grip and flying him around like an airplane/putting him in the barbecue/poking him with a stick. I want to tie him to a string and recreate the opening of napoleon dynamite >:) ALSO I MADE HIM SMOKE OUT OF A STUPID CRYSTAL PIPE BUT PLEASE DON'T ACTUALLY USE THOSE, THEY ARE SUPER TOXIC LMAO MINE IS FOR DECORATION
I don't have any process pics because I had tunnel vision autism style and forgot the rest of the universe existed while I was working on him. BUT if you're curious I'll ramble below the cut
Okay I am not a seamstress by any means. I've sewn my entire life but very, very infrequently. I've done plushies, clothes, cosplays, fursuits, accessories, etc. but I only do one like once a year, so while I planned to make all 5 bishops, I'm not really sure I'll get them all done. The material cost was like 20 bucks tops so I'm not too upset if I don't finish them. I AT LEAST WANT TO GET SHAMURA OR HEKET DONE.
here is the concept sketch ft. heket's toes and shamura's fingers. I decided to do his pre-schism version so I could fit him with jewelry! I did him first because like I said I sew infrequently and don't know wtf I'm doing, everyone else seemed a lot more complicated.
So I basically just traced this drawing on a printer paper-sized canvas in SAI, and guesstimated how everything would look in a 3D space. His head is four pieces, one triangle identical to the one in the picture, two wide triangles that are sewn together in the back, and a circle for his chin. You can't really see it in any of the pics but he's literally like a black cylindrical stick with little tentacles sewn on where his mantle connects to his cloak. The leg tentacles are one piece of felt that look like tassels, where they're connected by a rectangle but branch off into individual pieces. He can't stand up very well, so his cape keeps him up (that's gonna be an issue for every other bishop too except heket cause she's gonna be ROUND). Mostly everything like the crown, cloak, head, etc. are cones so I just had to make a lot of wide triangles.
For the details, I just used acrylic paint that was watered down so he's not especially crunchy, and for the blush tone I used a makeup palette my mom bought me 10 years ago in hopes I'd get in touch with my "feminine side", but I grew up into a nonbinary butch lesbian so OOPS. Kallamar looks better with makeup than me anyway. I'm kinda sad I couldn't get his freckles as lopsided as I draw them but it probably looks better in plush form to have them even anyway....
I could just post the pattern so I don't have to explain this but 1. I am mentally ill about the thought of my kallamar being in someone else's house and 2. the original pattern had to be tweaked while I was working on him so the final pattern straight up doesn't exist, I winged it the whole time
OH and the jewelry is just scrap pieces I had laying around, I might repaint it all to be gold instead of silver + bronze. I used 20g aluminum wire for his armlet thing, jumper rings for his earrings + ring (+ a diamond dot from my mom's kits for the gem) and chain for the bracelet. I made him an amulet as well but it felt like overkill so I took it off. I'm probably gonna make him a plague doctor mask and medicine bag sometime because I think about nurse kallamar more than I probably should :') I've already sewn one as a prop for a toy raven before so it shouldn't be too hard
#cult of the lamb#cotl#kallamar#plushie#felt craft#does this count as a plush or is it like a doll idfk#I just make shit because I feel like it not cause I can categorize it in any way#drug cw#ONLY CAUSE OF THE REAL PIPE#THERE IS NO ACTUAL DRUG USE HAPPENING

never meant to be
âïž ellie x fem!reader âïž summary: in which you and ellie go through the heartbreaking realization that love is never fair. âïž warnings/themes: cheating (ellie cheats on current gf with you), dina is your sister, heartbreak/forbidden love, not a happy ending, familial issues | fingering/thighriding (r!recieving), use of strap, fem anatomy âïž a/n: hi. don't hate me lol. sometimes i write stories like this to feel a little something. also it's 2:30 am and i have to be in class by 7:00am so this is not proofread lol. there will be NO part two. âïž word count: 9,800 words aka my longest fic yet
for as long as you could remember, you were always in dina's shadow.
despite you being the youngest daughter, dina was your parent's pride and joy. she was the smartest and prettiest daughter, who never failed to win the family's attention.
dina was the 'perfect' daughter in your parent's eyes. she followed in mom's footsteps and won prom queen 3 years in a row and was crowned 1st place as miss wyoming since she was 14 in the annual pageant every year. last year, she got accepted to yale university with the intention of going to law school and becoming a criminal lawyer just like father.
your parents were set on having two extremely intelligent daughters who attended ivy league colleges and strived for an above-average career like an award-winning surgeon or a ground-breaking research scientist.
but that wasn't you. at all.
from a young age, you were always attracted to art â such as sculptures, paintings, murals, and various types of music. you had a keen eye for things more abstract, which always set you apart from your own family.
sure, math and science were subjects that came easily to you, and you had no difficulty with keeping straight A's at school, but you always knew you wanted to do something different than what was set for you.
despite being the black sheep of the family, you did find yourself envying dina. she had the bigger room, nicer clothes, a car, and always got money whenever she asked mom and dad for it. it was hard not to be jealous.
especially since she started bringing ellie williams around.
dina met ellie during her freshman year at yale, and the two hit it off. they officially became a couple this summer, and with the approval of our parents, ellie followed dina back home and agreed to stay the entire summer with her and the family.
from the first moment you met ellie, you were smitten.
it was the first week of summer, and you were relishing in all the much-needed vacation time, knowing by the time summer was over, you would be on your way to los angeles for college.
you were relaxing in bed with your copy of 'pride & prejudice', reading it for probably the 70th time. from your bedroom, you can hear a car pulling up in the driveway followed by your mother's loud voice yelling "welcome home!!", and then slamming car doors. getting up from your comfortable position, you drew the linen curtains to the side and took a peek out your window, down at the driveway.
from above, you could see mother taking dina in her arms, giving her a hug and placing a kiss on her forehead.
your eyes drift to father, and to the girl he was shaking hands with.
she was unlike anyone you've ever seen. her short brunette hair was cut short, hanging right at her neck in the style of a mullet. her slender arms revealed one tattoo on her right forearm that was visible underneath the folded flannel layered over a plain white t-shirt.
she held this charming aura about her, evident by how your father let out a hearty laugh as he gently nudged her on the shoulder. this woman must've been impressive because it was a rarity to see your father laugh, let alone when first meeting someone.
as dina grabbed the girl's hand to drag her inside the house, her eyes flickered up toward you, lingering on you for a little too long.
-
"so, ellie, tell us. what are you studying at yale?" your father's deep voice resonated throughout the dinner table.
"ugh, daaaad, please. no more interrogating my girlfriend," dina groaned out, "you're gonna scare her away, and we've only been together a month!"
"i was just asking a question, sweetie. no need to fret," your dad interjected as he took another bite of chicken.
ellie cleared her throat before putting her fork down, "uh, i'm actually in a computer science programâ i'm in the works of developing my own software."
father's eyes widened, "wow! how impressive! what kind of software is it?"
"it's actually a type of software used by government agencies to store highly classified government documents, sir," ellie added, "it keeps unverified users locked out of the servers so they don't access the documents unless they recognize the IP address, and the software reports any unknown addresses back towards us to be monitored for criminal activity."
your ears would usually tune out the boring conversations held at the dinner table, but you couldn't help but be completely absorbed in everything ellie was saying and it only left you wanting to know more.
"how exciting! glad dina found someone who's doing something significant with their life," your father complimented, "unlike our youngest."
"such a shame. you graduated top of the class this year, yet you want to attend art school." your father's eyes bore into the side of your face as you pretended not to notice his words, distracting yourself by poking at the cold piece of broccoli on the expensive china plate.
"art school is cool too," ellie complimented, "what are you majoring in?"
you picked your head up, surprised by ellie's sudden interest in your studies. you were used to everyone else asking about dina and talking about dina and would compare you to dina. it was exhausting.
"umâ fine arts. i'm also minoring in graphic design," you managed to squeak out, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear.
"and what are you planning to do with that, young lady?" your dad prodded in his signature stern voice, "you're 18 years old, almost 19, you have to start thinking about your future seriously."
you take the glass of water, and take a sip from it, suppressing that urge to cry from his words, "okay, father."
your mother places a hand on your dad's shoulder, attempting to calm him down, "honey, not at the dinner table."
he doesn't say anything else, and continues eating his dinner, whereas you lost your appetite a long time ago, and are no longer feeling in the mood to be around your family for another second.
the fork falls from your hands, creating a clinging sound against the ceramic dish. "may i be excused?" you tremble, ignoring the burning gaze from the brunette's eyes. you couldn't put into words the humiliation you felt at this moment, and you couldn't bear to look at dina's mocking smirk or at ellie's pitiful stare.
"okay, sweetie. goodnight." your mother murmured. you got up from the chair, and scurried out of the dining room, wanting nothing more but to curl up under your covers and lay in dark silence.
as you ascend up the stairs, you can hear dina continuing the conversation as if nothing ever happened, laughter and jokes ensuing in your absence.
-
the past two weeks with ellie in the house was an adjustment you had to get used to.
there have been a few occasions where you'd forget to lock the bathroom door, and bam, ellie barges in. luckily, she was a gentlewoman and always covered her eyes even though you were fully clothed. but it was extremely awkward, to say the least.
one morning, you thought the house was empty and took the opportunity to blast your favorite pussycat dolls song and belt out the chorus while shaking your hips around in the living room, only to find ellie looking down at you from the top of the stairs with an amused expression on her face.
needless to say, you put an end to your one-woman concerts and kept them in the privacy of your bedroom.
it was currently 2:45am, and you just wrapped up a painting you started this morning. the house was still and silent, and no one else but you were awake during this time of night.
feeling the gurgle and rumble of your belly, you take off your headphones and tiptoe down the stairs. with your socked feet pitter-pattering on the cold tile of the kitchen, you opened the door to the fridge and scanned the shelves for a tasty late-night snack.
"hmmm...." you hummed, "strawberries and cream might do the trick." you pulled out the bowl of strawberries and a tub of cool whip, and sat down on the tile, opening the lid, and dipping the berry in the creamy topping.
you were about 5 berries deep before you heard a voice clearing their throat, causing you to jump in your spot.
"isn't it a little too late to be eating dessert?" ellie queries. she was in a grey hoodie and plain grey sweatpants with half of her hair tied up. it was evident she probably just woke up, and a part of you felt a little guilty that you possibly were the reason for that.
unable to speak with a mouthful of fruit, you slowly shake your head left and right, eliciting a chuckle from the brunette.
"alright, no judgment here." ellie puts her hands up, "can i join you?"
swallowing the lump of red fruit down your throat, you respond, "sorry, yeah. of course," you hold up the bowl of berries, "want some?"
the girl crouches down and sits next to you on the floor, grabbing a strawberry and dipping it in the cool whip, then taking it all in one bite.
she chews momentarily before shaking her head in satisfaction, "not bad, not bad. never tried this combination before."
"really? i've had this snack for years, ever since i was a little girl," you smile, "it was my dad's favorite snack growing up..."
your voice trailed off as you reminisced about the earlier years when life was easier and you didn't have the pressure of worrying about college or career aspirations. all you and dina worried about was grilled cheeses and finding your bratz doll's missing feet.
ellie spoke again, "were you close with your dad growing up?"
you bit your lip, the sweet taste of strawberry and whipped cream present upon the skin, "yeah. we were," you laughed dryly, "we used to watch those cheesy law and order SVU shows all the time."
"yeah?"
"mhm," you hummed, "they were always entertaining to me. he thought that it'd eventually influence me to become a lawyer like him. he always said that we'd become the dynamic duo or whatever and that we'd kick ass in court."
ellie sat intently, watching you, listening to you as you told her this memory. from the moment she first met you when she got here, she knew you were quite the opposite of dina. dina was type A. she was occasionally uptight, a bit boring, and not really fit for ellie. ellie was chill and was a 'go by the flow' person, which was one thing dina hated about her. don't get her wrong, ellie liked dina, and she liked how dina was funny and smart, but she didn't really see them lasting long-term.
it was shitty. it was shitty how ellie didn't see herself being with dina for that long, and it was worse that ellie didn't have the guts to tell her.
but, for her own selfish reasons, ellie didn't want to tell dina, not yet anyways. she gravitated toward you and often found herself staring at you for a little too long during meals at the table and thinking about what you were doing in the next room over while dina was cuddled up in her arms.
ellie knew this was a bad idea. she could not get attached to her girlfriend's sister. it was nothing but a recipe for disaster.
but ellie was only human. she couldn't help her ever growing curiosity.
"you didn't want to be a lawyer?" ellie asked.
you shook your head, "hell, no. looks stressful and boringgggg," you sang out.
ellie laughed, "yeah, can't disagree with you there. dina tells me it involves lots of reading."
"yea, i'm good." you giggle, "what about you? have you always known that you wanted to work with computers 'n stuff?"
"i guess. i was always a 'nerd' and all that bullshit. loved watching sci-fi movies and shows and i'm also a huge gamer soâ" ellie began, "i can't imagine myself not doing anything else other than techie shit."
you nod, putting another cream-covered berry in your mouth, "that makes sense. at least you're passionate about what you do."
"yeah, i guess," ellie snacks on another strawberry, "how 'bout you? you're an artist?"
you cover your mouth to muffle a laugh, "i wouldn't call myself an artist. but i do love painting. it's all i ever want to do."
"then it wouldn't be too much if i could ask to see some of your art."
your eyes widen, and you nearly choke on the fruity snack. "what?" your voice almost comes out sounding shocked.
"yeah, i mean, i'd love to see some of your stuff," ellie looked toward you with a sly smile.
"um, no," you laugh, "my parents haven't even seen some of my work."
you were hesitant to show anyone any of your artwork, and only allowing your best pieces to be kept in the security of your personal portfolio, only to be viewed by colleges for applications and such.
"aww, c'mon. i wanna see."
you huff, "maybe."
ellie smirked, "i'll take what i can get," she continues, "besides, think of me as....an art critic."
you let out a giggle, "oh yeah?"
the night progresses and you and ellie get lost in conversation, talking until 4am about life and whatnot. ellie was an easygoing person to talk to. she never seemed to judge you for any of your own opinions, and it felt like she was actually interested in what you had to say. it felt like you've known her for years, even though it's only been a matter of weeks.
you could already see the rays of orange peeking up from the navy, blue sky. it was already early morning.
"we should probably head back upstairs," you suggest, nodding your head towards the window, "the sun's gonna rise....and dina'll wake up soon."
it was like clockwork. dina woke up every morning at 6:30 am, never earlier nor later. you definitely did not want her to catch you and ellie here, alone and together.
for a moment, ellie forgot that she was here with dina. it was fucking terrible and she felt guilty, but she really liked spending the night talking with you and she knew she needed to do it again.
"uhâ no, yeah, of course," ellie stood up first, holding out a hand to help you up next.
you took her warm hand in yours and hoisted yourself up until you were stable on your feet.
"thanks," you murmur.
"yeah, no problem."
ellie didn't pull her hand away, and neither did you. it was like your hands were two pieces of a puzzle, fitting perfectly in the spaces of each other's fingers.
realizing what was happening, you quickly pulled your hand away from hers, "uhâ"
"fuck, sorry," ellie stammered, "i'm gettingâ umâ awfully tired."
good excuse, ellie thought to herself.
"it's fine, no worries. let's head upstairs," you lead the way up toward the stairs with ellie alongside you. you stop in front of your bedroom door and ellie stops in front of dina's, her hand lingering on the doorknob.
"yeah?"
"umâ just wanted to say goodnight, ellie." you smile at her, and she returns the favor.
"goodnight." ellie whispers, and you both head inside.
with dina still fast asleep, ellie crawls into bed next to her. she pulls the blanket close to her body, and turning away from her sleeping girlfriend, a small smile makes its way across her face as her mind drifts to you and how you were just a few feet away, a wall being the only thing separating you both.
and as you crawl into the comfort of your own bed, you couldn't help the wide smile that curls upon your lips as you thought about ellie, and how badly you wanted to talk to her again, ignoring the fact that she was probably laid up against your sister's body, holding her close.
it was an unfortunate thing â the slow formation of the connection between two people who were right for each other but were bound by the fate of knowing deep inside the chance of them being together was just not a possibility.
-
ellie could not get herself to fall asleep. she's been here for weeks, yet found herself tossing or turning in bed, never sleeping soundly for more than 3 hours at a time.
it happened again tonight. she fell asleep at 11:00pm, and here she was, wide awake at 3:00am.
she never knew how dina could do itâ how she could make her body sleep at the same time, and stay asleep until morning.
ellie blamed it on the idea that her body wasn't adjusted to being at dina's house with her family. she thought that spending her summer vacation with dina's family would be fun and that it would be a good getaway from all the stress at school.
but ellie fucking hated your dad. from the first night she met him, she hated how he talked down to you. he was an asshole. it was obvious to ellie that he favored dina, and she knew it was only because she was following the same career path he was on. ellie didn't agree with how he felt about you at all, and desperately wished she could say something to him, but she thought it'd be best to not interfere...for now.
sighing, ellie took the covers off and quietly walked towards the door, slowly opening it and gently closing it.
she didn't know what the hell compelled her to walk over to your bedroom door, but before she had any time to even consider her actions, her fist planted three soft knocks on the surface.
ellie thought you must've been fast asleep by now, but a small part of her hoped that you would still be awake.
you swung your bedroom door open, unsure who would be knocking on your door at this hour, but was relieved to see it was ellie, "oh, hey."
ellie's eyes trailed up and down your body, taking you in and letting her eyes rake over the way your sleep shirt hangs loosely off your shoulder and how your cotton shorts stop mid-thigh.
she had to force her eyes back up on your face, and she was beating herself up for even letting her look at you that way, like a piece of meat.
"uh- er- sorry, i was justâ" ellie stuttered, "i couldn't sleep."
you nod slowly, and step aside to let her inside your room.
god, this was such a bad idea.
after letting her inside, you close the door and lock it. walking back over towards your bed, you plop down on the mattress as ellie awkwardly stands in the middle of your room.
"you can sit down, you know," you giggle, and ellie shrugs and chooses to sit on your swiveling desk chair.
silence fills the air for a moment before ellie speaks up first.
"were you busy?"
you shake your head, "nope, was just reading a book."
"ahh, okay," ellie was silent for a moment before speaking again, "sorry again, for uhâ bothering you."
"you didn't bother me," you laugh, "i'm usually up around this time anyways, jus' doing whatever."
ellie nods and turns the chair to face your desk where she sees your black leather sketchbook. her fingers open the book to a random page, and it was a sketch of a cat napping on a window sill in incredible detail.
the sound of pages flipping caught your attention, and you immediately jump to your feet as the realization hits you.
"hey! my sketchbook!" your hands quickly try to snatch the book from her hands, but ellie was faster, and got up and held the black book up and out of your reach. to your loss, ellie had the advantage of being a couple inches taller than you were, which made it extremely difficult for you to get to your book.
"these are amazing! let me just look through them a little bit longerâ" ellie says, flipping through the pages of all the sketches you made, "holy shitâ is thatâ is that me?"
your eyes grow wider, and you could feel the sweat seeping out of your pores, "give that back!"
you jump and try to grab the book, but ellie has this annoying smirk on her face as she holds the book high above her head, knowing you wouldn't be able to grab ahold of it due to your shorter stature.
"ugh, seriously?" you whine, flushing red in embarrassment, feeling like she just read an extremely personal section of your diary. in a way, your sketchbook was your diary.
"let me take a picture of my sketch and i'll give it back to you, deal?" ellie attempted to negotiate with you, but you narrowed your eyes at her, really not wanting her to have any evidence of your sketch at all. but she doesn't seem like the type to take no for an answer.
luckily, you were quite the trickster yourself. it's a youngest child thing.
you huff, "fine."
ellie smiles with pride, and as she lowers her arm to put the sketchbook down, you act fast and seize the book. but before you succeed, ellie snatches it back, and suddenly she's falling back onto your bed. you fail to steady yourself, following suit and landing on top of her, your forehead thumping against hers.
"ouch."
both of your eyes meet, and for a second, everything stands still. you and ellie don't move, afraid that whatever happens next, it'll end up with you both in a compromising situation.
"iâ uhâ" you sputter, "sorry." you quickly scramble up to your feet, getting off of her, and standing back to create some distance.
the absence of your body made ellie feel cold, but she pushed that feeling to the side and stood on her own two feet, handing you your sketchbook.
"thanks," you take the book from her hands and stuff it in the top left drawer of your dresser, where it usually is anyways.
"you know, those were really good," ellie mutters, scratching the back of her neck, "especially the one of me."
heat rises to your face once again, "it was from the day i saw you in the drivewayâ when you first got here with dina."
she nods, "i can tell, 's really good though. i swear."
you blush, "thanks," you think of something quick to change the subject, wanting to stray away from your sketch of her, still reeling in the embarrassment of her finding out.
"wanna watch the office?"
4:58am
you know what? imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, so i thank you.
"god, i love dwight so much, dude," ellie laughs, throwing a chip in her mouth as she watches jim's character pull out the bobblehead and place it on his desk.
identity theft is not a joke, jim! millions of families suffer every year!
michael!
oh that's funnyâ michael!
you let out a sleepy giggle, cuddling your pillow. you and ellie had been on your bed with the show playing on your laptop for an hour already, while she munched away on a bag of chips you had in your room.
ellie turned her head to check on you, and she could tell by your heavy eyelids that you were about to knock out in any second, "you sleepy?"
"mhm," you manage to hum out.
she smiles, in awe at your cute, sleepy state.
"go 'head and sleep. i'll finish up this episode and let myself out when it's over," ellie murmurs. she unfolds the blanket that was sitting at the edge of your bed and places it over your body.
"you sure?" you ask, nearly half asleep.
"mhm. i'll be gone by the time you wake up." but you knew you didn't want ellie to be gone when you woke up and ellie didn't want to go either.
as the show continues to run, you close your eyes and fall into slumber.
you weren't sure what woke you up, but you did. you hear the sound of 'the office' theme song playing, causing you to stir slightly, but you were surprised by the pressure present around your waist.
you sit up a bit, and you see ellie fast asleep, with her arm wrapped tightly around your waist, spooning you.
you look at the clock next to your bed and read the time: 6:23 am.
the air is sucked out from your lungs. dina is gonna be up soon.
"ellie! wake up!" you whisper quite loudly in her ear, shaking her awake. she doesn't wake up, and just groans, pulling you back to hold you again.
ignoring the butterflies going rampant in your belly, you attempt to wake her up again, "ellie! please, wake up," you shake her arm, "dina's gonna wake up in any minute."
ellie's green eyes open, and for a moment she's glad it's your face she sees when she wakes up, until the realization dawns on her.
"shit, shit, shit," ellie curses, getting off your bed and standing up, "i have to go."
and she exits your bedroom, leaving you alone in your bed only with the memory of waking up in her arms.
as ellie slowly and quietly enters dina's bedroom, she's relieved by the sight of dina's body still fast asleep. she gets back in bed and turns away from her, trying to calm her fast heart rate down.
on cue, dina's alarm clock goes off at 6:30 am sharp. ellie can feel dina turning and shutting off her alarm clock, and then she scootches closer and wraps her arms around ellie's body, planting a kiss on her cheek.
"morning, babe," dina whispers, and ellie shuts her eyes, pretending she's still asleep.
ellie lets out a mumbled 'morning' sounding groan and nestles her face into the pillow. she feels dina get up from bed and head into the bathroom to begin her morning routine, leaving ellie alone, wishing she had you wrapped up in her arms instead.
-
two days had gone by and you barely talked to ellie, sharing nothing but longing glances and brushes of fingers when you handed her a plate during meal times.
you didn't purposely intend to avoid ellie, but your mother had filled your agenda with errands for your 19th birthday party this weekend. you had to go talk to the caterers, talk to the florist, get fitted for a dress, buy new shoes, send out invitationsâ it was all so tedious and tiring, but you didn't want to make your mother upset by disappointing her.
the contractors were currently setting up the house with decorations and such for the party, and ellie was outside in the backyard with father, helping the rest of the workers set up a stage and other things needed.
you hated hot days, especially ones like these, where the air was scorching and dry. but you couldn't complain today, ellie was in a tight, white tank top showing off her muscular biceps and arms. you couldn't help but stare a little longer, trailing your eyes over the beads of sweat that would roll down her neck.
thank god for hot days like this one.
"honey, will you please do me a favor and bring out this tray of refreshments to everyone outside please?" your mother handed you a tray of cold drinks and fresh fruit.
"of course," you smooth out your sundress and take the tray from her hands, walking out of the kitchen and through the open doors leading to the backyard patio.
you walk over toward where they were working and set down the tray, "here are some cold drinks everyone."
your father and the workers mutter a quick thank you and take the offerings, sipping on the chilled drinks and talking amongst themselves.
however, what ellie needed wasn't a cold refreshment or a fruity snack. in fact, the only thing she could think of that would help ellie in this heat right now was you.
she couldn't tear her eyes away from the way your tits looked, the way the fabric hugged the soft, pillowy flesh. she definitely couldn't look away when you walked back towards the house, only wishing she can run her hands over the smooth skin of your thighs, grabbing on your ass.
the way you made ellie sweat was incomparable to the sun's radiating heat.
"excuse me, i'm gonna use the bathroom," ellie muttered, making her way back inside the house.
as you neared the kitchen, you overhear your mother's conversation with dina.
"yeah, we'll be leaving a little early. i have stuff to do back on campus," dina's voice remarks.
"oh, that's too bad. i really like having you both here," your mother pouts, "when are you and ellie leaving?"
"the day after the party," dina replies, "it'll give us time to rest and pack up."
your heart sank in your chest. ellie was leaving? and so soon?
you ran back inside the house, jogging up the stairs, not wanting dina or your mother to see the tears watering in your eyes.
"sweetie? you okay?" your mother yells out from the kitchen.
"uh, yeah! just need to get something from my room!"
you make a bee-line to the bathroom and shut the door behind you, looking at your reflection in the mirror, and letting yourself break down in tears.
something like this was bound to happen. you knew ellie wouldn't stay here forever, and you would be leaving for college. but why did this hurt so bad?
you hear the bathroom door open, and you quickly wipe your eyes.
"e-ellie?"
the brunette was surprised to see you in the bathroom at first, knowing you did have a habit of leaving the door unlocked sometimes, but that all went away and concern washed over her as she noticed your tear-filled eyes and red, stuffy nose.
"hey, hey, hey," she whispers as she takes a few steps toward you, "what's wrong?"
you blink a couple times, a tear falling down your cheek. you hesitated to answer her question.
"you know you can tell me anything, right?" ellie coos, her hands soothingly rubbing up and down your arms.
you nod, and bite your lip, thinking of how to word your response correctly, "d-dina said you both were leaving after my b-birthday."
ellie softens and an evident look of disappointment appears on her face, "yeah, we are."
you wipe your nose, looking up at her with glossy eyes, "it feels like you just got here andâ andâ" you sniffle, "you're leaving already."
ellie's heart soars understanding that you were upset because she was leaving. "i know and i'm sorry," she snakes her arms around your waist, pulling you close to her, "i wish i met you sooner."
ellie wished she met you first, she would actually have a chance at giving you both a shot without the guilt of betraying dina.
you bury your face into her shirt, the scent of her perfume wafting in your nostrils. god, there was just so much to do and so little time.
you pull your head back to get a good look at her face, to memorize her features, and sear them into your brain.
your eyes fell to her lips, and before you could even form a single thought, you leaned forward and pressed your lips against hers.
ellie instinctively pulled you closer by your waist, kissing back, moving her lips slowly with yours.
you slowly try to pull away from her lips, but she brings you back in for more, her grip on your waist never releasing.
"ellie," you breathe out, but it comes out sounding more like a moan, "w-we can't," you whine, "d-dina's here."
fuck. she stops, and pulls away from your lips, leaning her forehead against yours for a brief moment.
ellie plants a small kiss on your forehead, before letting you go and exiting the bathroom, leaving you alone once again.
-
"happy birthday, dear," the lady greets, leaning to give you a kiss on your cheekbone, "19 is such a fun age, don't take advantage of it, alright, hun?"
"sure," you hum, smiling back as the lady retreats back to the party, getting lost in the sea of people.
you had no idea who she was. actually, you didn't know a lot of the people here. a bunch of them were your father's associates from the law firm, some of your mom's book club members, and dina's friends from high school.
it was your birthday party, but your parents never turned down the idea of hosting a celebration if it was an excuse to mingle and network.
you head upstairs toward the balcony and step outside to the cool, summer night, leaning against the railing. you took a deep breath in, briefly closing your eyes in an attempt to gather your thoughts and clear your head.
"not enjoying the party?"
the sound of the voice causes you to spin in your spot, and you're met with ellie standing at the doorway. she was dressed in a white, collared dress shirt that was slightly unbuttoned at the top, with black slacks. her hair was down, in her signature mullet. you could tell she'd been drinking, as her eyes appeared dazed and she seemed more relaxed.
"uhâ it was getting hot and stuffy in there," you tore your eyes away from her, "i just needed some air."
ellie sauntered over, standing next to you and placing her arms against the rail. her eyes raked over your body, drinking in how absolutely gorgeous you looked in your dress.
"you look beautiful tonight."
heat rose to your cheeks, and luckily the blush you wore today camouflaged the deepening crimson fading on your cheeks, "thanks."
"you always look beautiful, but you know, it's your birthday tonight and i had to remind you."
it was possible that ellie's words just fell from her lips because she was slightly inebriated, but it was true. ellie thought you were the most beautiful thing this earth could offer. you were the closest thing to heaven on earth.
but ellie couldn't have you, and without you, she was in her own personal hell.
you cleared your throat, attempting to wave off the tension in the air, "are you enjoying the party?"
she shrugged, "yeah, it's okay. i meanâ dina's been introducing me to all your dad's friends and shit, trying to show me off like some kind of fuckin' trophy or something." she lets out a harsh laugh, "have you met my girlfriend ellie? she's a computer science engineer at yale! she's already done work for google and apple! isn't that so cool?"
ellie mocks dina's voice, and you can tell she has this slight bitterness to her. but you couldn't blame her for how she felt, dina only cared about the superficial things.
"oh...i'm sorry," you turn your head to face the view, "she's always been like that. trying to compete with everyone else and prove that she's better."
"yeah, i fucking hate that."
silence falls between you two again, and the elephant in the room couldn't be more obvious. it's been two days since the kiss in the bathroom occurred, and neither of you had even acknowledged it since then.
ellie would occasionally find herself thinking about the way your lips molded onto hers, and how she'd risk her relationship with dina just to experience it one more time. hell, she'd break up with dina.
it was hard for you to think about ellie without having the guilt bubble in your belly. you couldn't get ellie out of your head at all, and frequently spent those late nights fantasizing what it'd be like to be in dina's position, as ellie's girlfriend.
but, those feelings of shame always came to the surface and you tried to suppress them, pushing them into the dark corners of your mind, but as the day's progressed, it got harder and harder to do.
even being next to ellie made your body feel like it was on fire, and the urge to kiss her again was coming full throttle. you had to leave before you did something you both would regret.
"umm, i'll see you down there," you quickly sputter out before turning your heel to leave, but you felt ellie's hand grip your arm, stopping you.
"wait."
you force yourself to look at ellie, and your eyes connect with hers. your heart rate picked up, and suddenly the oxygen left your lungs. it was insane how one person could make you feel like thisâ like you could die if you were to let go.
"iâ" ellie was about to let her heart speak for herself, and she was going to tell you everything. she was going to put her heart on the line and risk everything, for you."
"ellie! elllieee! where are yoâ oh! there you are!" dina appeared at the doorway, a wide smile on her face as she finally found ellie. "where were you? i have to introduce you to this guy who works for this video game company! come on!"
before ellie can say anything, dina grabs her arm and drags ellie away.
the party happened and ended. you blew out your candles and cut the cake, and soon enough all the people left by midnight. dina was fast asleep on the couch in the living room downstairs, as the expensive, bubbly champagne had officially defeated your older sister.
your parents were asleep. dina was asleep. the only two people awake in the house was you and ellie, a deadly combination.
ellie was in the next room, intoxicated, and thinking about what her next moves were. she was leaving tomorrow and she knew that soon enough that you would be leaving for los angeles too, for college.
the thought of you possibly meeting someone new during college made her skin burn. ellie wanted to be that person for you, to be the one who made you laugh, to be the one who you called at the end of the day to tell her all about what happened in class, to be the one who gave you butterflies and made your heart flip.
fuck it, ellie thought, and the next thing she knew she was walking to your room and knocking on your door.
you swung the door open, and ellie swore she could've died and gone right to heaven. you were still in your birthday dress, but your hair was down, and you just looked like the most beautiful thing she'd seen in a long time. it was impossible that you were a real person.
"....ellie?" you spoke softly, and the sound of your voice knocked her out of her thoughts.
"huh? yeahâ uhâ fuck. sorry," ellie stammered, "canâ can i come in?"
"sure."
you could smell the mixture of whiskey and her sandalwood perfume radiating off her body, and it was an addicting combination. you just wanted to bury your face in her neck and sniff her, as creepy as that did sound.
you sit down on the edge of your bed, crossing your legs, and ellie leans against your wall, with her hands stuffed in the pockets of her black slacks. she was still in her outfit, but the top of the buttons of her shirt were opened much wider, revealing a bit of skin.
silence falls in the room, and there was tension in the room. the room was beginning to feel humid and hot, and a small bead of sweat rolled down your temple.
ellie's eyes raked over you in your little dress, and how the dress bunches up just enough for her to get a peek of the sweet skin of your inner thighs, a paradise she's been dreaming of.
she wasn't sure if it was the little bit of alcohol still left in her system, but she could feel that familiar heat bubble in her core, making her feel even hotter.
"so, i was thinking, and i realized that i didn't say 'happy birthday' to you," ellie spoke softly, "i didn't even get you a gift."
your eyes widen, and you let out a small laugh, "it's fine, don't worry about it."
"nah, you've been so good to me, andâ i meanâ the least i could do is buy you something or take you out for dinner when me and dina come back for winter break."
your smile falters. when me and dina come back. the words echo throughout your head. me and dina. come back.
shaking your head, you try your best to respond without choking up, "i-it's okay..."
"what? don't be ridiculous-"
you cut her off, "it's f-fine, ellie," you breathe out, "i'm gonna head to bed now."
a pang hits ellie in the chest, and a look of hurt washes over her. "w-what? but i-"
you couldn't contain the jealousy that simmered in your belly, and it was partly due to the specialty cocktails you had tonight. you just had to have a midori sour.
"you and dina have to leave early tomorrow," you spat, with venom dripping off every word. it was enough to be noticed by ellie, and she received your message.
ellie doesn't say anything and her mind whirls in search of the words she wants to say.
after a few seemingly long minutes, she speaks up, "i think i'm gonna break up with dina."
your head snaps in her direction, your expression in utter disbelief, "what?"
ellie nods, "yeah."
"but, why?" you ask, "dina loves you and my family loves youâ"
"dina is not who i want to be with."
you freeze, and your heart skips a beat.
"who do you want to be with?" you had an idea of who, but you played dumb, eager to hear her say the words.
"you."
time stops, and suddenly, everything feels like it's frozen in time, and the only two things that were present were you and ellie. for a moment, you let yourself imagine how things would be if she did break up with dina and went with you instead. of course, you would be over the moon being ellie's girlfriend, but at what cost?
dina would surely hate you if she already didn't and she'd make your life a living hell. and your parents? your dad would think you were a bigger disappointment, especially for ruining his perfect daughter's relationship.
you and ellie would face ultimate backlash, and wouldn't be on the receiving end of support from those close to you.
it pained you to think about it, but you had to be realistic.
"ellie......" you whispered, your voice coming out slightly strained, "i don't think we could be together."
ellie shakes her head, "we can. i'll break up with dina andâ andâ we'll have a long distance relationship and we'll come backâ"
"and we'll be here? together? in front of dina and my parents?" you cut her off, hurt evident in your voice.
her demeanor faltered, and she was quiet for a moment. ellie understood your point of view, and how it'd be difficult to continue a relationship with her ex-girlfriend's sister.
"just stay with her."
ellie sighed, "no, even if we can't be together, there's no way i'm going to stay with her. no fucking way."
"butâ"
"no. i don't want to be with her," ellie comes closer to where you were, causing you to stand on your feet and back up, "everyone is talking about how everyone else would feel. what about me? i can't fucking stand not being with you. you think i enjoy thinking about you while i lay with dina? do you even understand how hard it is for me to just look at you? do you know what you do to me?"
you feel the cool surface of the wall press on your skin as you were backed up against the wall. she had you cornered and you couldn't do anything about it, and a small part of you enjoyed this.
ellie's voice is low and raspy, "do you have any idea how much i think about you? having you as mine? thinking about the things i would do to you?"
you swallow hard, and you shake your head left to right, "ellie, you're just d-drunk."
she shakes her again, "i'm not. i'm one hundred percent sober."
"you're talking nonsenseâ" you try to convince her, but deep down inside, this was you trying to convince yourself.
"why can't you just face the fact that i want you?"
"because you're dating my sister!" the tone of your voice shocks the brunette.
"i can'tâ i can't have these feelings for you," you breathe out, "you're with dina."
ellie closes her eyes at the mention of her name, and again, silence fills the space.
"then let's forget about her, okay? for one night, i just want to forget about her," ellie whispers, "all i wanna focus on is you."
you search her face, and you bite your lip, actually contemplating the idea.
as you and ellie make eye contact, it was then you realize how close she was to you, you can nearly taste her lips if you leaned in further enough.
and in a swift move, ellie presses her lips against yours, pushing you against the wall. her hands cup your cheeks, kissing you with a sense of urgency and passion.
she takes control, and pushes her tongue in between your lips, roaming around in your mouth, eliciting a mewl from the back of your throat.
ellie's hands move to the back of your neck, and wrapped up in each other's lips, you both continue your way over to your bed, falling onto the mattress.
you pull away for a brief moment to flip her over, straddling her and sitting on her thighs.
ellie bunches your dress around your hips, fully exposing your thighs for her enjoyment. her cold hands send a shudder up your spine as they make their way to your thighs, "so fucking gorgeous."
ellie whispers, and she reconnects her lips against yours, and you couldn't help but grind your core against her, eager for friction as you feel a pool of wetness gather in your panties.
you let out a small whimper against her lips, and ellie grows more greedy, and slides her tongue inside your mouth again. the burning heat forming in your core begins to be harder to control, and you couldn't help but grind your pussy harder against her again.
the brunette smiles against your lips, and she takes hold of your hips, guiding you and placing you securely on her right thigh, "there, baby. grind that pretty fuckin' pussy on my thigh."
desperate for more, you place your arms around her neck for security and begin rubbing your panty-covered pussy against her pants, the fabric providing some friction on your swollen clit.
you couldn't suppress the soft whimpers that leave your lips, and ellie presses her lips against yours, drinking in every single moan that reverberates through your throat. she has you right where she wants you, wet and desperate for her.
"ellie.." your parted lips whine, "want more."
your pleas come out sounding as pathetic moans, and she smirks at the sight of you, eager for more.
"yeah? you want more, baby?" you nod frantically.
the brunette flips you over, takes you off her thigh and lays you on your back. using her knee to part your thighs, her fingers slowly trail down your inner thighs, and she uses her index finger to slide your panties to the side, sliding her finger down the wet slit of your pussy.
"shit," she curses, "so wet for me."
your hips buck up, craving more and more of her touch against your sensitive cunt, "ellie, please."
smirking, ellie pulls down your panties, the damp fabric pooling at your ankles, and she uses two fingers to spread your lips, the wet skin creating a slick-sounding echo throughout the room.
she uses one finger to rub your soaked, swollen clit, drenching her finger with your wetness.
"hmmph," you whimper, gripping her arm tight. ellie takes your lips in hers, muffling your pleading moans with her mouth as her fingers rub agonizing slow circles on your pussy.
she briefly pulls away from your lips, breathing heavily, "god, you're so beautiful when you moan."
ellie continues the circles against your clit, and you grab her wrist, stopping her, "e-ellie, please, i-i want more.."
the brunette pauses and thinks for a moment, "alright, baby, give me a second and wait here."
ellie places a kiss on your forehead, pulling her fingers out of you and quickly hurrying out of your bedroom. seconds later, you hear your door open and you see her come back in with a black strap and a harness.
"do you use that withâ"
ellie cuts you off, "no. this one's new."
she takes off her shirt, and her black pants, leaving her in a plain black sports bra and plaid red boxers. she quickly hooks the harness around her hips and attaches the strap.
coming back on the bed, ellie looks at you with soft eyes, "is this okay with you?"
you nod, "yes, it's perfect."
she smiles, and she leans in to kiss you again, this time the kiss being much gentler than the previous one before. her hands make their way down your hips, and taking the hem of your dress in her hands, she slips it off of you.
pulling away, she takes the chance to gaze at your body. there was nothing but absolute adoration in those pools of green.
"you're beautiful, have i told you that?"
"only a couple times," you reply shyly, and ellie smiles, kissing your cheek.
her hands gently part your thighs, and she lines her cock up at your entrance. "we'll start off slow, yeah? you let me know if anything hurts, and i'll stop, baby."
looking up at her with glossy eyes, you nod. ellie takes the base of her strap and slowly slides it inside of your pussy, slowly filling you up.
"oh my god." was all you could muster.
"fuck," ellie curses, "you're so fuckin' wet for me, sweet girl."
filling you up almost completely, she grabs your waist and begins thrusting her hips, the strap easily sliding in and out of your wet pussy.
your eyes roll to the back of your head and you grab onto her arm, your grip tightening around her limb with each striking thrust.
the sound of clapping skin and wet slick fill the room, along with a combination of your soft whimpers and ellie's groans.
"keep your eyes on me, babe, wanna see those pretty eyes as i fuck you," ellie groans out, tilting your chin to look up at her.
how can something so wrong feel so right? she had your legs spread apart, with her strap buried deep inside you as dina slept soundly just downstairs.
it was hard to feel guilty when she was hitting every sweet spot inside you.
ellie leaned her forehead against yours, her thrusts never losing rhythm as you coat the black silicone in your white, cream.
as her strap slides in and out of your pussy, that familiar knot begins to form in your belly, and you feel almost as if you're nearing the edge.
"god, ellieâ i think i'm about to cum," you stammer out, feeling your pussy tighten around her cock. ellie's eyes never stray away from yours, wanting to make sure you kept your eyes on her.
"yeah? come on, pretty girl, cum on my cock," she coaxes you, and her words cause that feeling of euphoria to wash over you, as you tip over the edge and writhe beneath her.
"ellie," you cry out, "i-i l-love you, fuck." you whimper out, as your pussy clenches around her, the black plastic strap squelching as your juices drip all over it.
"i love you, baby," ellie groans out, as she does one last thrust inside you, falling over in exhaustion onto the bed.
moments later, ellie gets up and takes the strap off. she cleans you up with a clean, wet rag, and climbs into your bed, the both of you still without clothes.
she drapes the blanket over your bodies, and she pulls you close to her.
"you okay?" she asks.
"mhm, i'm more than okay," you hum.
a comfortable silence falls, and you speak up again.
"i just wish you didn't have to leave tomorrow," you whisper, a stray tear falling down your cheek.
ellie kisses the top of your forehead, and rubs your back soothingly, "me neither, baby."
and you and ellie both fall asleep in each other's arms, just for this one night.
-
you really didn't want to have to see dina and ellie off.
it was sad enough that the girl you were in love with was dating your sister, but for her to go to university almost halfway across the country was something close to heartbreak.
luckily, ellie woke up early and got ready and packed up her things before dina woke up. but unfortunately, you woke up alone.
and for the rest of the morning, you stayed cooped up in your bedroom, not wanting to endure the sorrow of seeing ellie leave.
but she had to.
from your upstairs window, you watched as your father and ellie both began loading up the car with suitcases and other bags.
you didn't even want to say goodbye to her, knowing that the minute you saw her face, you'd burst into tears.
so, you just decided you wouldn't say anything to her at all. it was easier that way and it made a cleaner cut.
you hear a knock on your door, and your mother's head peeks out in your bedroom.
"hey honey," she coos, "come downstairs and say goodbye to ellie and dina."
you sigh and turn your head away from the door, "no, thanks. they'll be good without me."
you hear your mother sigh, and she shuffles into your room, closing the door behind you and sitting next to you on the bed.
"don't you wanna say goodbye to your sister, before she leaves?"
you shrug, "dee will be fine without my goodbye."
and for a moment, your mother is silent.
"well," she begins, "don't you want to say goodbye to ellie?"
you were stumped and you didn't reply.
"after all those late night conversations and such, i think ellie would want you to say goodbye."
your eyes widen in surprise, and you turn to look at your mother. "hold on, you know about that?"
she scoffs, "i may be your mom, but i'm not stupid." she laughs, "i can see things from a mile away, and my motherly intuition is telling me that...you like ellie."
you sigh and tear your eyes away from your mother, feeling ashamed, "i know, and i'm a terrible sister for that."
your mom soothingly rubs your back, "no, that makes you human. you can't help who you get feelings for, hun."
she tucks a piece of hair behind your ear and smiles at you, "ellie is an amazing girl, and i'm glad she realizes how wonderful you are."
tears fill your eyes, and you completely break down. your mom looks at you with sympathy, her heart cracking seeing her daughter experience heartbreak, "i love her, mom."
you let out these muffled sobs, and your mom takes you in her arms, comforting you as you cry.
as soon as you come back, she wipes your tears, and takes hold of your hands, "listen to me, sweetie," she coos, "if you love her, let her go, and if she comes back, she was always yours. but if she doesn't, it was never meant to be."
you laugh a little bit, "ugh, mom, that was corny."
"it is, but it's also true," she says, "which is why i think you need to say goodbye to ellie. life will take you in two different paths, and you'll regret it if you don't say anything."
absorbing her words, you nod and wipe your face with the sleeve of your sweatshirt. you get up from your spot, and hurry outside, nearly sprinting to the driveway, seeing dina already in the passenger seat and ellie about to get in the driver's side.
"wait!" you call out, and ellie's head snaps in your direction, a wide smile curling on her face.
first, you jog over to dina, "bye, dee. have fun at yale and stay safe."
you kept your words short and sweet.
"thanks, kid. go crazy in LA, okay?"
smiling, you nod at her and make your way over to the driver's side of the car, where ellie was standing and waiting.
you stand in front of her and you take a deep breath, before wrapping your arms around her neck and pulling her in for a tight hug.
you take this opportunity to whisper in her ear, only for her to hear, "maybe in the off chance we see each other again, and things are right, we can give us a shot."
"you better stay true to your words, pretty girl, because i plan on seeing you again," you can hear the smile in her voice as her arms wrap around your waist.
before anyone notices the prolonged hug, you pull away from her and stand next to your mom and dad, where you all wave goodbye to them as they pull away and disappear into the road.
maybe in another life, in another time, in another dimension, you and ellie were together.
you would have this big house overlooking the hills, and you'd have this amazing studio with huge windows to paint whatever you wanted and ellie would have her own office, dealing with her own ordeals. you would have a dog running around with a grumpy cat trailing along with them. you and ellie would always end the day with dinner together, and by the end of the night, you would be curled up in her arms and life would be perfect.
but this wasn't another life. for now, you and ellie were just two souls who are merely passing by each other in this lifetime. from strangers to friends, friends into lovers, and strangers again.

SUNSET PART 1
Or early summer!
Clarisse La Rue x Cassandra De Young (oc! Apollo's kid)
Summary: When Cassandra gets involved in a scandal early in the day, she goes to camp early.
Warnings: men....thats all i could think of actualy.
First read this!
Part 2 is here!
Cassandra De Young
Im fucked.
That's it, that's all i can say.
I knew it as soon as my hand reached his face and stinged, as soon as i heard a camera's flash, and as soon as i stepped into my mom's apartment.
Let's just rewind a bit, okay?
My family own a big business, that you already know by now, the thing is, when they reeaally want to do business with someone they go extreme, the most common technique is to get on the good side of everyone in the family, everyone.
They research, pretend to have things in common, to like the same things, to have the same views of life, and to make it more believable they always go for the person who is closest in age with them.
Usually i dont get involved in this situations because im younger than everyone else, the only teen in the family.
The thing is, this family also had someone around my age.
A 18 year old guy.....eighteen.
Let me tell you, i really wasn't going for trouble today, i tought he may be a normal guy, just with a little money, someone i could have a conversation with, drink some coffe, laugh and go back home and think "hey, not so bad"
He.was.not.
All he could talk about is how much money his family had, where he went for winter break, his pure blood horse, that only ate (attention to this one) IMPORTED GRASS.
Overall a huge dick.
But that i could handle, i've met people like this, i could handle a shitty talk for some hours, what i could not handle was having to go through all this with his hand on my knee bellow the table.
And here i was, spending one of my last days of spring being tortured by the fates.
"You're not paying much attention to the conversation are you?" He said, and gods that accent was almost making me want to jump out of a cliff, or push him out of a cliff, both would work.
"Oh sorry i was-"
"No need to apologize, people get bored i know" Not that he did something criminal by not letting me finish my sentence but, my gods every action coming from him its making me want to die right now "Its okay, i could find some way to make you focus"
Okay, im done
"Im gonna need you to stop saying odd shit" I looked him dead in the eye with a bothered look, and by the surprised look he gave me back i was 100% sure nobody ever told him to shut up when he was saying nonsense.
"C'mon, dont be like that-" he said trying to get his hand a little but upwards, and i only realized i slapped him when i felt my hand burning.
"Oh my gods im sorry i-" And then i heard the camera flashes.
Im going to need you to imagine the scene, my hand was still up, his hand was till on his cheek, and he had a scared look in his face, as did most of the people at the fancy coffe shop.
Do i smile now? Strike a pose? This one is definetly getting front pages at every place.
I chose the safest choice, got out of that straight to my house.
No..i did not payed the bill.
The whole way home i was trying really hard to think of something to say that was not going to make my family mad, especially my grandfather, but considering whe has always mad with something, that felt like a impossible mission.
First thing i saw when i opened the door of the penthouse was my mom, standing in front of the television, and sure enough, my face was on it.
She turned to me, but before she could even say something i started to explain myself.
"Its not what it looks like mom, i swear, i didn't do it on pourpose, let me explain please-" i couldnt actually read the look on her face, but she didnt say anything, so i took that as a go ahead.
When i explained her what happened her face relaxed a bit, but not completely, and she had a look that said your grandpa is getting in my nerves because of this.
"I'll talk to your grandfather about this, but you need to know that the way you acted wasn't appropriate, there is cameras all around and you need to be careful...lets just thank the gods you didnt pulled out a dagger right?" She walked closer to me, and i knew she was trying to comfort me, its a pitty actually, i knew she didnt wanted kids when she had me, i knew how grandpa treated her when he found out, to me, it was enough that she at least tried to love me enough. "You already have your things packed to camp right? I know you have some more days of school but ill call them and tell them you are sick, its best for you to leave earlier this year, then your grandfather wont talk your ears out...you okay with that?"
"Yes mama, ill just finish packing some small things...do i leave today?" I felt her hands on my shoulders, and heard a silent im sorry.
"Yes, but dont be like that, think that you at least wont have to see the news talking about you..youll just be there, with your siblings, eating strawberies and..whatever else demigods do daily, right?"
Like i said, it is enough to me that she tries, even when she isnt great all the time, i know people who dont even have this.
I nodded and went to my room, making sure not to accidentally hit a new sculpture, placed in the corridor.
I didnt wait for her when i finished packing.
I knew she wouldnt be the one to take me there, she never is, she has things to do with the family business, its what ive always heard.
So when i got to the underground garage with my bags i automatically searched for one of the family drivers, sure enough, he was there.
He was a nice guy, but quiet, i knew that he probably had orders not to talk to the family members unless spoken to, grandpa did this with all of them, i also knew he never actually knows where hes been taking me, he takes me there almos every year, but always stops at the road in front of the forest, maybe this sad look he has on his face its because he thinks he is taking me to one of those crazy wilderness therapies as a punishment.
Granpa would absolutely do that if he hadnt had to live with a great public appearence.
"Miss? We are here" He looked at me in the rearview mirror, i only realized i had doze of when my eyes met his and i blinked. "Hold on tight, im going to help you with your luggage okay?"
"Oh..thank you mr bell" He opened the trunk, and then the back door for me, extending his hand to help me get out of the car "thank you, again"
"Sure miss, just let me take your bags out and we are all set okay?-"
Another car dor noise made us both look to the right, to find Clarisse La rue, closing a taxi door, with just one big suitcase in hand.
Now, my story with Clarisse is kind of complicated, i've met her when he were, eight i guess, her family bought some shares in the family business and we saw each other very regulaly, and ever since then everything everyone told me about her is that she is a troublesome girl, that i should stay far.
But she was the one who realized i was a demigodess, and took me straight to camp when a monster found me, and she was the one who, many times when we were little, comforted me when my family made me cry.
It seems like she forgot all of that because she never even looks at me.
If you ask her, she has never even met me at all actually.
"Clarisse, you're early"
"Cassandra, you too-"
"Cass actually, i prefer cass" i corrected her, to wich she just rolled her eyes and muffled a whatever. "Thats all you are taking? One suitcase?"
"And you are taking all that? How do you plan on walking the whole way with all that? Im assuming he wont go with you" she said looking at mr bell, and its true, he could not walk the whole way with me, and i could not walk with all that alone...fuck
"....you could help m-"
"No, dont even think about it"
"C'mon Clarisse!" She didnt even answered me this time actually. "Arent you a Ares-" i looked at the driver taking the suitcases out. "A ares...type of kid? You will pass on the oportunity to demonstrate your muscles or whatever?"
She started to walk away with a bored look, did i already said fuck?
"C'mon ill do whatever! I- i dont know.. 20 dracmas!, no?, ill help you with the cleaning duty you'll eventually have when you fuck it up? I..ill do that AND ill cure you anytime you want, everyday, no matter the time!"
She stopped walking.
Yes! I knew it, one of the many problems clarisse had its that she likes to go out at night to train alone, and when she gets hurt she cant ask anyone to help her, because she would get caught
"Give me those suitcases already and shut up-" she was interrupted by a very happy me hugging her.
"Thankyouthankyouthankyouclarisse!"
I felt her hands on my arms and realized she was going to push me away, so i took a step back
"Geez Clarisse, you could've just told me to back off, dont be like that... just take these and ill take those"
I said pointing to the suitcases, and saying goodbye to mr bell.
Can i already welcome summer and his crazy energy? No? Okay.

Choosing The Road - GVF x Reader
Words:1.8k+
Summary: Reader goes on a roadtrip with her lifelong best friends, and they are all after her heart.
CW: MDNI, 18+, fluff, drinking, cursing, can be viewed as both platonic &/or romantic, flirting i guess?, traveling idrk! Love triangle but all 4 of the boys are after reader (love pentagon?) not proofread
This is a bit of a short one I wasnât actually going to post but here we are! I wrote this one on the way to my Starcatcher show :)
I may do a part 2 to this where reader ends up with one of them so lmk if youâd like to see that and who sheâd end up with!
âââââââââââââââââââââ
It was your second day on the road, and it was anything but boring, especially being with the guys. They had been your best friends for years now and a roadtrip with them was something you had always wanted to do, and now was the chance.
Everyone had pitched in a little bit to cover the cost of a rental RV, and everyone took turns driving, except you. You were more than happy to, however the boys wanted you to sit back and enjoy the ride. Sam even decided to bring Rosie with him, which led to even more fun.
Even though you had just gotten on the road yesterday, there were already countless trips to truck stops that had been made. It was always the same routine, too. Sam would get out to stretch his legs, play with Rosie, and photograph the surrounding area. Josh would hop out, take a short walk in the surrounding patches of grass and pick up any flowers, rocks, or sticks he had found nearby. He was really good at journaling and the pieces of nature he had found made for excellent journaling supplies. Danny always made a trip to the bathroom and made sure everyone had their snacks and enough water to last them to the next truck stop. Jake had recently taken up the hobby of writing poetry, so he would sit outside and take in as much scenery as possible to later write about. And for you, well you would join each of them in their respective activities depending on your mood.
âLet the good times roll!â Sam announced, putting the camper in reverse. He had just taken over for Jake as driver.
âWho wants to listen to some blues?â Jake asked, taking out his phone.
âYou. Only you do, Jake.â Josh spat.
Jake plopped himself down in between you and Danny. Without a word, Danny handed him a water bottle and a small bag of crackers.
âThanks bud.â Jake said, opening the bag.
Danny was definitely the mom friend, which made you laugh. The Kiszka boys always had a somewhat childish side. Although they were some of the most responsible and respectful men you knew, they always brought out your inner child, which was one of the reasons you were such great friends with them.
âThis road trip is so fun. I canât wait to make some more lifelong memories with my lifelong friends.â Danny smiled, picking his head up from the book he had been reading.
âI canât wait to see where the road will take us. Bajabule!â Josh cheered, taking a beer can out of the mini fridge in the corner. âSo many good vibes around us.â
This trip was so spontaneous, you didnât even have a planned destination. You guys just wanted to drive around the country until you felt like going back to Nashville.
âJake, could you hand me my water, please?â You ask sweetly.
âOf course, love.â He smiles before turning around to get your pink metal water bottle. Before he could grab it, Danny scoops it up and delivers it to you.
âHere you are, m'lady.â Danny says as you graciously accept the water.
âI was going to get it for her-â Jake begins.
âYou snooze, you lose, buddy.â Danny lovingly pats him on the shoulder.
The various sights you had seen eventually turned into mountain tops that looked identical to one another.
After a few hours of driving straight, Sam finally pulled into a parking lot. You lifted your head out of a book you were reading to take in the new location.
âA truck stop? Another one?â Josh stands up with his hands on his hips.
âI have to pee!â Sam argued. âPlus, I donât want Rosie pooping on the floor, or we might have to pay extra for that.â
âGood call.â Jake nodded, standing up.
âI need to stretch my legs anyways.â Danny added, walking towards the door.
Sam got Rosie on her leash and then made his way out of the RV, and everyone followed after him.
âYou want any snacks?â Josh leaned in, asking you.
âMe? Uh, maybe a coffee would do me some good.â You smile.
âYou got it.â He reciprocated the warm smile and went inside to get snacks.
You followed him at a distance, going to quickly use the restroom.
After you used the restroom, you wandered around the truckstop for a bit. You walked over to a huge map on the wall, examining it carefully.
You quickly grabbed a pamphlet that read âArkansasâ across the top in big blue lettering. You were planning on making a scrapbook of the road trip and figured you would be collecting any sorts of materials for it.
Even though you had been on the road for the past day, and you had no idea where you were, it was good to find out that you had at least made it out of Tennessee.
âArkansas? Huh.â Danny came up behind you and rested a firm hand on your shoulder.
You jump back, startled. You let out a small chuckle. âYeah, I was worried weâd still be in Tennessee.â
âDonât worry about that, Y/N.â Danny laughed. âI think weâre coming pretty close to Oklahoma by now. Maybe if Josh could drive better, weâd be there by now.â
You nodded with a giggle.
âWell, Iâm gonna go get a quick snack. You want anything?â
âNo thanks, Josh is already getting me something.â You smiled. âIâm gonna get some fresh air for a bit.â
You left the truck stop, heading over to the RV. Sam was now outside with Rose. You headed over to them, bending down and greeting Rose with a few pets.
âShe loves you.â Sam smiled as he watched you play with his beloved pet. âBut who doesnât? You're easy to love.â
âI could say the same for you, Sam.â You look up at him and go to stand.
âYeah, right.â He chuckles, giving Rose a treat.
âYou are.â
âReally?â He asks, his eyes going wide.
âDuh. Youâre my best friend. Everybody loves you.â
âAwh.â He sighs and smiles to himself. You even catch a glimpse of him blushing, but he turns away before you can point it out.
You turn around, making your way back to the camper and notice Jake stepping inside.
When you get inside, you notice Jake sitting down on one side of the couch. He pats the spot next to him, signaling for you to join him on the couch.
âHey.â He smiles.
âHey.â You reply, sitting down.
He has his leather bound journal placed open in his lap. You take notice of the many words accompanying the pages.
He notices you looking at the pages as he looks down. âI've been busy.â
âLooks like it.â You nod. âWhat are you writing?â
âIâve been working on some stuff. Some concepts for a new album. Some poetry. Yâknow.â He admits.
âI see youâve gotten a lot done?â
He laughs and glances down at the journal once more. âYou can say that.â
You lean in a bit closer, getting more interested in hearing his ideas. âDoes sight seeing give you inspiration? Is that why youâre always writing stuff down?â
âWell, I actually get a lot of my inspiration from you. Believe it or not.â He gives you a sweet smile.
âJake,â you grin. âThatâs so nice. Can I-â
âI donât want you to see it yet. Only when itâs perfect.â He softly closes his journal and moves it to the side. âI only want you to see my top notch work.â
âJake, I think all your work is top notch.â
âThank you, Darl-â
As he finishes his sentence, Josh comes sauntering back into the vehicle.
âYour coffee, madam.â He dramatically puts his hand out, you take the coffee from him. âAnd I also threw in a bag of chips for you.â
âThank you, Joshy.â You accept the snacks with a cheeky smile.
âNo need to thank me,â He sits himself down on the couch across from you and Jake. âEspecially over a small bag of chips and a coffee. Iâd do anything for you.â
You giggle before Danny and Sam come piling back onto the RV, with Rose following closely behind on her leash.
âAlright, so whoâs driving now?â Sam claps his hands together.
âIâll drive.â Danny stands up. âHavenât driven for a bit now.â
âI know there's a rest stop in aboutâŠ50 miles.â Jake told him.
âMaybe we stop there for the night? Get some rest?â You inquired.
âYes maâam.â Danny nodded, sitting down behind the wheel.
âGetting rest at the rest stop!â Josh chimed in.
âŠ
That night, the RV was parked at a rest stop next to a huge pond. It was off the highway and very peaceful. The RV bunks were anything but comfortable. You had been tossing and turning, not able to get any sleep. You thought for a minute before deciding on reading your book. That always helped you fall asleep easier. As you walk into the sitting area to retrieve your book, you see Joshâs silhouette on one of the couches.
âJosh?â You ask in a whisper, blinking back your lack of sleep.
âOh!â he jumped back, startled. âWhatâre you doing up?â
âCanât sleep. How âbout you?â
âThat makes two of us.â
âHave you seen my book?â You ask, squinting in the darkness trying to find it.
He shakes his head. âCanât say I have.â
âDammit.â You sigh under your breath.
âWhy so sad? Come join me outside.â
âFor what?â
âI donât know.â He shrugs. âJust feel like it. A night underneath the starsâŠ?â He says unsurely.
You oblige and follow him outside.
He finds a nearby picnic table and lays down on top of it, looking up at the night sky.
âLay with me.â
âLay with you?â
âYeah, câmon.â He pats the spot next to you.
You lay next to him and stare at the sky as well. Itâs silent for a few moments, as both of you are just admiring the sky and wondering what to talk about.
âSo many stars out tonight. Theyâre all so bright too.â
âYouâre the brightest star, though.â
âSays you.â You chuckle, your cheeks turning a slight shade of pink. âYouâre literally the brightest star out there.â
âSo Iâm the sun?â He asks.
âThe sun is still a star.â You nod matter of factly.
âYou know what? if you asked me to, I would go up there, and catch all the starsâŠIâd bring them back down for you.â He admits, laying his hands against his chest.
âThatâd be one big feat.â
He chuckles. âFor you, itâd be nothing.â
âThanks JoshâŠâ
âYou know, Iâd do anything for you. Iâm sure all of us would. We love you so much.â He sits there for a minute before sitting up with wide eyes. âOh my god. Thatâd make for a good album name.â He smiles to himself before looking over at you, whoâs long asleep by now.

âShould we go to my parents house this weekend and tell them?â You were sitting on the exam bed while waiting for the doctor to print your sonogram picture.
âYeah, thatâs a great idea.â Joel nodded.
âSorry it took so long. Here, I printed five for you. And donât forget to get the vitamins at the pharmacy before you leave.â The doctor passed you the sonogram pictures and a prescription.
âThank you, doc.â You and Joel thanked her.
âYouâre welcome. Iâll see you on our next appointment.â She smiled.
âDo you want to wait here and sit while I get this?â Joel raised the prescription.Â
âIâll come with you.â You linked your arms to Joelâs.
âHi, Joel.â A familiar woman and man stopped in front of the two of you.
Joel sighed. He didnât expect to meet his ex-wife and her boyfriend again. At the obgyn in all of the places?Â
âHi.â You greeted them with a forced smile.
âCongratulations to both of you.â She pointed at the sonogram picture in Joelâs hand.
âThank you.â You looked at her while you rubbed Joelâs arms.
âCongratulations to you too.â You pointed your eyes to her protruding belly.
Joelâs ex-wife was pregnant with her current boyfriend. She was bigger than you so it was obvious.
âI hope youâll be a good mom this time.â Joel sarcastically said to his ex-wife.Â
Even though it had been a few years, he was still hurt by her and he still hated her. He could never forgive her for what she had done. She failed her daughter but why did God give her a second chance to be a mother? He wondered. Life was not fair.
âItâs okay.â She grabbed her boyfriend's wrist as he stepped forward to Joel almost starting a fight.
âI will, Joel. Iâm sorry. I hope to see Sarah sometime.â She brought up Sarah.
Joel groaned and rolled his eyes. You rubbed his arms with your thumb to calm him.
âSure, we can set a time.â You smiled at her.
Joel turned his head to you and widened his eyes. He wanted to make his ex wife suffer by not allowing her to meet her daughter.Â
âThank you, (y/n). I hope you and your baby are healthy.â She put her hands on your upper arm.
âYou too.â You smiled and parted ways.
In the car
âYou okay, there?â You asked Joel as he was quiet since your meeting with his ex-wife.
He stayed quiet, not answering you.
âJoel, baby?â You called him.
He only hummed and looked straight while driving.
âI get it. Youâre mad at me.â You nodded, holding the seatbelt on your chest.
âYes, Iâm mad at you. What the fuck was that?!â He raised his voice.
You trembled. Hands gripping your seatbelt tighter.
âYouâll let her see Sarah?!â He hit the steering wheel.
âIâm sorry. I just thought-Iâm pregnant now and I know how a mother is connected to her baby. She grew Sarah inside her for 9 months, Joel.â You started sobbing.
âDonât you dare cry now.â Joel growled.
âJoel, please. Iâm sorry.â You cried.
âFine, Iâll call her and tell her she canât see Sarah anymore. If thatâs what you want.â You took out your phone.
âDonât.â Joel started driving faster.
âWhat do I do? What do you want me to do?â You sobbed.
Joel cleared his throat and didnât answer you.
âJoel! Slow down! Youâre gonna get us killed!â You screamed.
He kept on pressing the gas pedal and speeding up.
âJoel! Please! Stop the car! Stop it!â You cried as you screamed.
Joel hit the brake suddenly as he saw the red light. You panted as the car stopped so suddenly. Then the light turned green and Joel pressed on the gas pedal again.
"Baby, I'm sor-" Joel didn't finish his sentence.Â
*car crash*
A speeding car suddenly crashed from the left side. Joelâs reflex tried his best to turn the car avoiding the crash but the car turned in circles. You screamed as the car turned. Your hand instinctively wrapped around your belly protecting your baby inside your belly. You hit your head as the car crashed. You and Joel blacked out for a moment.Â
âBaby..â Joel opened his eyes and groaned at the pain.Â
Joel turned his head to you but you were unconscious. He panicked and hurriedly took off his seatbelt. He was shaking.
âBaby, can you hear me?â His bloody hands cupped your cheeks.
âBaby, open your eyes. Open your eyes for me, baby, please.â Joel tapped your cheeks with his palms and sobbed.
Your ears were ringing and your vision was blurry. You blinked your eyes a few times as you heard his voice. All you could see was him, blood and pieces of glass everywhere.
âWhere are you hurt?â Joel looked up and down to your body.
âJ-joel..â You called his name.
âBaby, you hurt? Tell me.â He cupped your cheeks.
âWait here. Iâll get you out.â Joel immediately got out of the car and ran to your side.Â
He was in pain but he ignored it. Your safety was his priority. You were more important than him.Â
âCome here, put your arms around me. I got you, baby. I got you.â Joel put his arms around you to help you out ignoring his pain.
âJ-joel. Iâm in pain.â You shakily put your hand on your abdomen and squeezed it.
âI know, I know. I need to get you out first. Come on.â Joel tried to lift you.
âJoel, the baby.. I canât lose the baby.â You cried as you felt warm liquid flowing to your thigh.
âShit.â Joel looked down to your skirt and saw blood.
âJoel..â You cried looking through his eyes.
âEyes on me, baby. Eyes on me. Donât look down.â He tried not to panic so you didnât panic.
âJoel, everything hurts..â You cried on his shoulder as he dragged you out of the car.Â
âSomebody call the ambulance!â Joel shouted.
âIâm sorry, baby. Iâm sorry.â Joel cradled your head as he laid you on the ground.
Thankfully, a stranger called an ambulance and they came right away. The paramedic laid you on the wheeled stretcher and Joelâs heart broke. He blamed himself. He didnât know what he should do. He followed you inside the ambulance and held your hand throughout the way to the hospital. You squeezed his hand in pain and he brought your hand to his lips.
âPlease help my wife. Sheâs pregnant.â Joel begged the nurse as she brought you inside.
âSir, you need to get treated too.â The nurse invited him to the examination bed to get treated.
Joelâs head was bleeding. His bones probably dislocated or fractured but he didnât care. His focus was only you. He felt extremely guilty and his chest hurt.Â
âSir, weâre sending your wife to the operating room. Itâs best if you get treated while you wait.â The nurse repeated again.
âSave her, please.â Joel sobbed.Â
âWeâll try our best.â The nurse smiled.
Then Joel followed the nurse and got treated. He called Tommy to watch Sarah for a while but he told him not to tell Sarah what happened. Then he waited for a few hours and shook his legs in anxiety. Joel stood up right away when you were brought out from the operating room.
âHow is she?â Joel asked the doctor with his casted arm.
âSir, Iâm so sorry for your loss. We couldnât save your baby. And your wife needs a lot of rest. We need you to stay strong for her.â The doctor felt bad for telling Joel such bad news.
Joel cried as he looked at your weak body laying on the hospital bed. The nurses pushed your bed to your room while Joel followed beside you. Joel stayed beside you all the time when you were still sleeping because of the drugs. He slept resting his head on the bed beside you, holding your hand, never letting you go. In his mind, he kept thinking how he would tell you when you regain your consciousness.
âJoel?â You whispered as you opened your eyes a little.
Joel raised his head right away when he heard you call his name.
âHey, Iâm here, baby. Iâm here.â Joel stroked your head.
âWhere am I?â You tried to remember what happened and your head hurts.
âYouâre in the hospital. We got into a car accident.â He explained the main points.
âMy head hurts.â You put your hand on your head then your stomach.
âJoel- The baby. Please, tell me itâs okay.â You started panting as you panicked.
âBaby-I-â Joel couldnât find his words.
âJoel-please-â You sobbed.
âI-Iâm sorry.â He cried.
âJoel! No! Please!â You cried gripping his shirt.
âIâm sorry, baby. It was my fault. Iâm sorry.â He cried and buried your head to his chest hugging you tight.
You cried so loud. Your tears wet his shirt. You didnât expect this would happen.Â
âBring him back! Bring him back, please!â You screamed and tried to get out of the bed looking for the doctors.
You used him for your unborn child because you could feel it would be a boy. But now heâs gone. Your baby boy was gone. Your heart was shredded into pieces at the fact you couldnât protect your baby.
âBaby, you need to lay down. You need rest.â Joel held you from standing up.
âDonât touch me!â You threw his hand away from you.
âItâs all your fault! None of this would happen if you didnât speed up!â You yelled at him. Tears falling down your cheeks.
âI hate you! I hate you! And I hate myself!â You took off the IV needle that was inserted on the back of your hand and stood up.
The nurses came inside as you tried to leave the room. They held you and put you back to your bed. Your heart rate was rising and they decided to give you sedatives to calm you down. Joel cried as he saw you like that. He was guilt-ridden and helpless. He never wanted to hurt you and now you hate him.Â
To be continuedâŠ
A/N: I wasnât planning about this but when I was writing for this chapter my hands kept typing it this way. I donât know if you like it but I hope you like it!! â€ïž

Just Give Me a Reason. (Pt. 2.)
pairing:
Johnnie Guilbert x Pregnant!Fem!Reader.
a/n:
I've gotten many requests for a part 2 to this!
warnings:
none
hormones were kicking your ass today. you sat at the edge of your bed sobbing. you were so unsure of everything revolving around having a baby. although you knew Johnnie would be an amazing father, you feared you'd be a shitty mother. your face was red, and your eyes were puffy. you rubbed your eyes as you were sniffling and trying to calm yourself down.
you heard the front door unlock and open, and moments later, there were 2 knocks on your bedroom door. "Hi, love." Johnnie came in with a smile on his face. his expression dropped, turning into worry whenever he saw you crying. "y/n, what's wrong?"
he sat next to you on the bed. "What if i'm a terrible mother?" You looked down at your growing baby bump, rubbing it gently with one hand. "Our baby needs to have a good mom." You sniffled and looked at Johnnie.
"Listen to me. you're going to be the best fucking mother in the world, okay? i know this baby will never think any different." he rubbed your back. his eyebrows were furrowed with worry and his eyes glistened.
"are you sure?" you wiped your eyes. Johnnie always knew how to calm you down.
he took your hand. "I'm more than sure. are you gonna sit here and cry or are we going to go shopping so our baby has the best room ever?"
a small smile grew on your face. "really? you wanna go shopping with me? i wasn't sure if you'd be down for that."
he rolled his eyes. "oh my god, y/n. im way more than down for that."
you wiped the tears from your eyes. you jumped out of bed and slipped your shoes on. you practically ran out to the car. Well, not so much ran, but I'm sure you can picture that. Johnnie followed not far behind you.
since you told him you were pregnant, Johnnie worked on getting his license and finally got it. he hopped into the drivers seat and started the car. "have you been thinking of baby names, mama?"
"no, I was actually going to talk about it with you. honestly, I have no idea. whether it's a boy or girl, my mind is straight TV static." you admitted as you buckled your seat belt.
"talk about it later? I have no clue, either. I was kind of hoping you would."
you held his hand. "yeah, later. Tara has basically been spamming me with baby names."
To no surprise, your pregnancy was a surprise to Jake and Tara. especially whenever they found out Johnnie was the father. nonetheless, they were excited. Tara wanted to help plan a baby shower, but you wanted to keep the babies gender within family and the 4 of you. 5, including carrington. she complied, even though she was slightly disappointed in your decision. Jake was especially over the moon for Johnnie, who had expressed he wanted a family before you two even met.
Johnnie squeezed your hand. "maybe we can look through those, I guess." he laughed.
the upcoming month would be your next doctors appointment, in which you'd find out the baby's gender. Johnnie tagged along to all of your appointments, but couldn't contain his excitement over this one.
Johnnie parked as close to Target as he could. he opened the passenger door for you. with one hand on your stomach and the other one interlocked with his, you walked into Target.
"im going to get one of those cringe shirts that says 'father of the year' and wear it everywhere. to parties, too." he laughed.
"Oh my god, you wouldn't do that. especially to parties." You rolled your eyes at his dumb comment.
"Watch me." he squeezed your hand again.
a black crib with speckled blue, red, and yellow paint caught your eye. you nearly cried. It was the cutest thing you had ever seen. you pointed at it. "that's cute as fuck! do you think the baby would like it?" You eyed the price, which wasn't half bad, before facing Johnnie.
his face lit up whenever he saw it. "I think they would love it." he ran his fingers along the fake wood of the crib.
"I'll just order it whenever we get home. I do not feel like helping you carry that shit inside, no offense." You groaned, looking at all of the adorable baby clothing options. "I can't wait until we can shop for their clothes." You rubbed your belly with your hand gently. you were showing before, but it was starting to become prominent.
he agreed before pointing out a dark blue rug. "That's cute. it'd match the crib."
"it is! we should get it."
Johnnie agreed with you before grabbing the small rug and tossing it in the basket. you planned to lay it in front of the crib, purely for the aesthetic.
"I don't think we need all that fancy shit, like a changing table, don't you think?" you asked Johnnie as you wandered the aisles.
he shook his head, "Nah. I never had a changing table. I mean, I don't think."
"Yeah, me either. I didn't know what one was until I took that one class in high school. you know, the one where you carry around fake babies for a week?"
"Yeah. thank God I never took that class." he joked.
you stumbled across a black, mini rocking chair. it was cheap, for what it was, and easy to carry. "Awe." You cooed as you pointed it out. "I mean, unnecessary but cute decor."
"I was thinking the same thing."
"Yeah, let's get a chair they can't use for a while but not a changing table." you said sarcastically as you put it in the cart.
he giggled. "who gives a fuck? it's our baby."
you nodded your head. "True." johnnie kissed your forehead before returning to pushing the cart.
only a few days prior, you and Johnnie had called his mom to break the news. she freaked out in a good way, of course. although she thought he was a little young, she was happy that both of you were. she congratulated you and asked how you were doing, and the two of you talked through Johnnies phone about him for 30 minutes. Johnnie listened, clearly embarrassed as she told you embarrassing stories of him when he was a child. those stories made you all the more excited to have your mini Johnnie running around.
no other items peaked your interest nor Johnnies. you happily made your way to the checkout without a care in the world.
with only two items, check out was quick, and you made it back to the car. "y/n," Johnnie spoke up as he shut the driver door. "You're going to be an amazing mother."

Telling Them

word count: ~2.3k
a/n: 2/3 (this is a three part story -- however i might expand on it if you guys want)
loose summary: after nearly losing grayson, things are really put in perspective for jake and he realizes that the daggers are family too.
pt 1Â pt 3
*******
âI think I wanna tell the squad.â
âWhat?â Y/N asked, except she heard him perfectly well.
Jake had just always wanted to keep his family private, it was how he protected them. Despite her wanting to get to know his coworkers, she respected her husband and understood where he was coming from. So his sudden confession confused her.
Jake sighed and held his wifeâs hands. âI know, I know. Iâve always wanted to keep you and the kids private. But we couldâve lost Grayson today⊠We were having an emergency and you couldnât get a hold of me or Javy. Then you apologized for coming to base to get me, you shouldnât have to do that. Javy kinda knocked some sense into me earlier, said that the squad was worried when I left. A hoard of text on my phone confirmed that.â He took a deep breath.
âI want you and the kids to be able to lean on anyone on that team. Iâve trusted this team more than any other squadron Iâve been on.â âThatâs saying something.â Jake chuckled, âDamn straight it is.â
He sighed, âI realized that if we had lost-â Emotion lumped in his throat. âIf this had turned out any other way, they would have no idea that anything was wrong or why I wasnât at work or why I was a bigger asshole than normal. I couldnât mourn properly, because they would have no idea. And if I were to burn inâŠâ He trailed off, but she knew what he was saying.
âSo, I want you to meet them. I want them to get to know the kids. I want them to come to Grayson and Kennedyâs games. I want to expand the family, bring in a few strays.â
Y/N laughed, âDonât let the princess hear you say that, sheâll think weâre getting a puppy.â Jake chuckled and kissed her knuckles, leaning his forehead on hers. âWhat do you say, my Queen?â
She nodded against him, âLetâs do it. But can it wait until we have Grayson at home? Iâd hate for their first meeting to be in the hospital.â Jake nodded and kissed her forehead, âOf course, baby. Gives me time to drop subtle hints.â
Y/N pulled back, raising a brow, âYou? Jacob Thomas Seresin, subtle? When are you ever subtle?â He rolled his eyes, âHush.â Jake pecked her lips, âIâll go get the doctor.â âOkay, Iâll give Javy and Mav a call, let them know heâs awake.â
Jake walked down the hall and Y/N took out her phone, calling Javy, not realizing what time it was.
âHello?â âJavy- oh shit, did I wake you up?â âYeah, but itâs fine. Howâs Grayson?â She nodded, smiling, âHeâs awake. Heâs aware and is probably ready to get out of here.â âHowâs Kennedy?â âSheâs just glad to see that her brotherâs awake,â she peaked in the window, seeing her daughter tucked under her sonâs arm as she told him a story.
âHow are you?â She sighed, âIâm better. Way better than before now that I know heâs okay. Iâm just worried what this will mean for him. Heâs already tried out and made the football team here, he probably wonât get to play this season, but itâs only his junior year so hopefully heâll get to play his senior year.â âHopefully he recovers like his mom,â Javy joked. She scoff laughed, âYeah, fingers crossed.â
Javy sighed, âHowâs Jake?â She bit her lip and looked down the hall in the direction her husband went. âSame as me, better now that he knows Graysonâs okay. But,â she took in a breath. âHe wants to introduce the squad.â
Javy smiled on the other end, âWhen? Where? What time?â Y/N chuckled at her friend's enthusiasm. âProbably not until Graysonâs out of the hospital and is settled back at home with a routine. Iâd hate for the first meeting to be in a hospital. Him being hurt isnât ideal⊠but it helped put things into perspective for Jake. Heâs so protective of his private life, has been since high school. We both know that.â Javy nodded.
âHey, did Mav come by?â Coyote changed the subject. âYeah, gave Jake the next few days off. He said he was gonna give subtle hints, but we know him.â Javy laughed, âYes, yes we do.â
Y/N heard footsteps and looked to see Jake walking with the doctor. âIâll let you go back to sleep, J.â âIâll come by tomorrow after training,â he said, leaving no room for argument. âOkay, goodnight Javy.â âGoodnight, Y/N.â She hung up and sent Maverick a text.
Once the doctor and Jake got to her, they went into the room.
âGood to see you awake, Grayson. Iâm Doctor Andrews. How are you feeling? Any pain?â Jake and Y/N went to the left side of the bed, Y/Nâs hand lightly gripping her sonâs.
âMy ribs hurt a little, legs are definitely hurting,â Grayson told him, shifting a little.
Y/N moved over to the right side of the bed, âKenni, come here sister.â She held her hands out as her daughter leaned into her brother. âWanna stay with GrayâŠâ Y/N sighed, âI know you do, Princess. But the doctor needs to make sure bubbaâs okay. He canât work around you, honey.â
Kennedy narrowed her (e/c) eyes at the doctor before looking back at her mom, âIs he nice?â Y/N smiled and nodded, âYes, Kennedy, heâs nice.â The five year old sighed, âOkay.â She kissed her brother's cheek before holding her arms out for her mother. Y/N gathered her up and went back to Jakeâs side, the little girl instantly wanting to go to her father.
They spent the rest of that time going over the treatment options and timelines.
âOkay, so weâre probably going to have to keep you here for about five days. Just to make sure everythingâs okay. Do we have a preference for pain medication? Currently weâve got you hooked up to morphine.â Grayson glanced at Y/N, not sure what to say. âWe try to stay away from opioids as best we can. If itâs unavoidable then we understand.â
Doctor Andrews nodded, âHas anyone in the family had trouble with addictions in the past?â âNo, not that we are aware of,â Jake answered. He nodded again, âOkay, so weâll definitely look into our options and run them by you. Do you have any questions while Iâm here?â
Y/N looked at her son, who shifted a little in the bed.
âUm⊠Sports? Will I ever get to play again? Or am I done?â Andrews sighed, âWell, everything will depend on the recovery. Iâm afraid this football season, possibly basketball season, will have to miss you. But hopefully we can have you back by baseball season.â
âHow long is the recovery?â âFour to six months for the femur, sometimes the ACL can take as long as nine, but everyone is different.â Grayson nodded. âThank you, Doc.â He gave the Seresins a smile, âOf course, get some rest. Weâll talk more tomorrow.â
Grayson rubbed his face, groaning a little. âWhat is it?â Y/N asked. âItâs just â four to six months? Gosh, that sounds like forever.â âItâll be over before you know it, kid. You just gotta work during the recovery,â Jake said, nodding down to Graysonâs legs that were in braces.
Moving curls out of his face, Y/N spoke, âGray, we will be with you every step of the way. Itâll be hard, but you can do it.â
She gestured to her own leg, âI tore my ACL my sophomore year of high school, I get it. Youâll want to jump right back in once youâre healed, but you canât. You have to be careful until youâre properly healed, because if you arenât you might cause more damage. If your body tells you to rest, listen to it.â Grayson nodded, yawning a little, âYes maâam.â Smiling at her son, she kissed his forehead, âGet some rest. Weâll be here when you wake up.â
Jake smiled and ruffled his hair, adjusting Kennedy so she could kiss her brotherâs cheek. âNight bubba.â âNight sister.â
********
Two days later, Jake was back on base and, since Grayson was only 16, Y/N stayed at the hospital with him. Kennedy stayed at Pennyâs getting pampered by Amelia.
As expected, everyone asked Jake if everything was okay. He just nodded and went on as usual. Of course he was still worried, but he was a dad; itâs expected. But people took Jake at his word.
And Jake, in his best attempts to be subtle, had moved his wedding band from his truck to his dog tags and wore his watch lower on his left wrist, to show the initials tattooed there. He also didnât try to hide his phone as much, knowing his friends were a little nosy.
âHangman, is that your niece? Sheâs adorable, whatâs her name?â Fanboy asked as he sat beside Jake at lunch. Jake just smiled, âHer name is Kennedy. We call her Ken or Kenni.â
âWait, let us see!â Phoenix said, gesturing for him to turn the phone around. He proudly did so, showing everyone at the table his daughter. âHow old is she?â Rooster asked as he washed down his food. âSheâs five, she was about 3 in that photo though. Just popped up in my memories on Facebook.â
They were too busy fawning over how cute Kennedy was that they didnât catch the dodged ânieceâ question.
Now, the Dagger squad was not stupid and they were trained to notice things. But does that mean they caught everything? Absolutely not.
But, Bob, being ever the wallflower, noticed the tattoo the next day when Jake took off his watch to shower.
âWhoâs â(f/i) Sâ?â Jake smiled and rubbed the pad of his thumb over the two letters. âSorry, that-â âNo, Bob, itâs okay. If I didnât want you to see it, you wouldnât have seen it.â The WSO relaxed, âI take it they mean a lot to you?â Jake decided to keep it vague, just for suspense, âThey mean the world to me.â Bob smiled and clapped Jake on the shoulder before leaving the room.
*****
Four days into Graysonâs stay at the hospital and two days since Jake has been back at work, the squad went to the Hard Deck. But Jake wasnât really there, his mind was on Y/N, Grayson, and Kennedy.
âHey, Hangman, you okay?â Penny asked as she came over with his beer. âYeah, yeah.â She arched a challenging brow and he caved. âOkay, maybe Iâm still just a little shaken up. But Graysonâs okay, heâs coming home tomorrow. I just- Gah I donât knowâŠâ Penny sympathetically smiled at him.
He changed the subject, âHowâs Kennedy doing? She handlinâ it okay?â Penny nodded, âYeah, Amelia is doing a good job at keeping her distracted. Tea parties, make-overs, the whole nine.â Jake smiled, âYeah, Y/Nâs shown me the photos.â âShe keeps asking for Grayson though, she wants to visit him all the time. But if itâs past visiting hours theyâll face time.â He nodded, swallowing a little bit, âYeah, that girl loves her brother. Itâs-â
âHangman! You ready to get your ass kicked?â Jake turned, âIn your dreams, Fitch! Give me a minute!â He turned back to Penny, pulling his wallet out, âClose my tab, please. Iâm heading out after this.â
Penny nodded and took the cash, gesturing to the squad âWhen are you gonna tell them?â He glanced back over his shoulder at the group before turning back, âTonight, actually. Grayson comes home after an exam tomorrow afternoon. We plan on doing a cookout.â Penny smiled, âGood luck.â âThanks,â he smiled and pushed off the bar, sauntering over to the squad.
He grabbed the pool cue offered and broke the triangle. âHey, Iâm heading out after this-â âWhat? You never leave first.â He just shrugged and lined up his shot, potting a solid. âAs I was saying, Iâm leaving after this. I was wondering if you guys were free this Saturday.â Cyclone, Warlock, and Mav knew Jakeâs plan and gave everyone Saturday off.
The squad shared a look and nodded, saying they were free. âYeah, why?â Jake smirked, eyes staying on the pool table, âMy wife and I were planning to have a cookout, so Iâm inviting you guys.â âWife? Youâre married?!â Rooster asked, choking on his drink. Jake nodded, âI believe I said wife. Didnât I Coyote?â Coyote smirked as well, âYeah, you did.â
Before anyone could ask ridiculous questions, Bob spoke up first, âHow long have you been married?â â15 years in September,â Jake smiled, eyeing the gold band that was now on his finger. Heâd put it on a few minutes ago while he waited for Penny to get his drink. â15? How have you kept it a secret for so long?â Fanboy asked. Jake shrugged, âWhen somethingâs mine I hate to share it.â
âDo you have kids?â Rooster asked. Jake nodded, âYeah, two. A son, Grayson, and a daughter, Kennedy.â Their jaws dropped. âI thought she was your niece,â Payback asked. Jake shook his head, leaning down to take his shot, âNope, never said that.â
Jake took a few more shots before sitting on a barstool while Payback took his. âSo, are you guys in or what? I need to know how much food to get.â They all nodded. âI canât believe you let me drown in testosterone when you had a little girl and a wife. I donât think I could ever forgive you,â Phoenix said, crossing her arms while narrowing her eyes. âIâll learn to live with that.â
Bob spoke up again, a little more hesitant this time. âWhat happened last Saturday?â Jake sighed and stood up, âGrayson was in a car accident.âÂ
When everyone jumped to ask questions, Â he held his hands up.Â
âHeâs okay. But heâs been in the hospital the past few days for observation, but heâs coming home tomorrow. The cookout is really for you guys to come meet them and get to know them a little bit. Y/N didnât want yâall to meet in the hospital.â
The group nodded, âWeâre in.â
**********

when the world stops turning (my heart stops beating)
hello hello i bring you some actual writing for once how exciting !! this is based off this post by @acowardinmordor once i saw it my brain just wouldn't stop until i fleshed it out into something relatively coherent so here it is !! if this does well i'll probably put it up on ao3 later
ao3 pt. 2 pt. 3 pt. 4
cw: drugs, illusions to drug abuse and overdose, minor character death, illusions to major character death (probably temporary), panic attack, medical crisis
When Eddie was eight years old, he found his mother on the bathroom floor, a half-empty bottle of pills in her hand. She wouldn't wake up. Eddie hadn't known what to do, so he wandered across the way to his favorite neighborâs house. Mrs. Westbrooke was an older widow who'd lived in the same house for decades. Once Eddie had told her his mom wasn't waking up, she called for an ambulance. The paramedics came and took his mom to the hospital. Eddie stayed with Mrs. Westbrooke until Wayne came to pick him up.
That was the first time he spent more than a night or two at Wayneâs. It was about a week and a half before he was taken back home. The same thing happened a year and a half later. His mom passed out on the kitchen floor that time, and it was a baggie of colorful pills instead. Something she'd gotten from a friend of his dad. Something his dad had gotten her hooked on several months prior, when the doctor stopped writing her prescriptions. He was with Wayne for three days before his dad came to get him. Two weeks later, he was on Wayneâs doorstep with a single bag of everything he owned, his dad behind bars. He'd been with Wayne ever since.
His uncle had made a promise to him that first night, when Eddie finally realized this was it. He was with Wayne for good. There was no going back. He'd promised Eddie none of that would ever happen again. He didn't have to worry about Wayne disappearing in the flashing red and blue lights. He wouldn't find him half-dead on the floor of their trailer. He was safe. Eddie believed him. For years, Eddie believed Wayne was right. He'd never once let Eddie down before. He was always there. He took him in when he had nowhere else to go.
Too bad Wayne couldn't have predicted this.
New York City. June 1994. A sold out show at Madison Square Garden. Eddie on stage with his best friends. His boyfriend watching from the wings. How it was always supposed to go.
The air was fizzing with energy. The crowd was screaming so loud. Eddieâs heart was pounding, blood rushing with adrenaline. He kissed Steve hard in the green room, a promise between them of more to come. Steve wished him luck, and it was time to take the stage. They'd finally made it. All their hard work was paying off.
About halfway through the set, Steve disappeared. Eddie wasn't worried. He didn't know he should've been. When they came off stage, the crowd was still screaming, and the band was riding the high of a great show. It felt amazing. It was more than they ever dreamed, growing up the way they did in a town like Hawkins. Eddie was grinning so wide his cheeks hurt.
âAnyone seen Steve?â he asked, handing off his guitar and starting to pull off his mic pack.
âNot for a while,â one of the techs responded. âSaid something about the bathroom, I think, but he never came back.â
Eddie frowned, a little confused. It wasn't like Steve not to be there when he came off stage.
âHe's probably just waiting in the green room, Ed,â Gareth said, knocking his shoulder against Eddieâs as he passed. âI'm sure there's nothing to worry about.â
Eddie didn't hang around with the others. He headed straight for the green room, hoping Gareth was right. There was a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach. The same feeling he got all those years ago, right before he opened the front door to find his mom on the kitchen floor. It ate away at his insides, churning deep and uncomfortably. His heart was racing, and it was no longer due to the high energy of the show. Panic was coursing through his veins.
His hand hesitated on the door to the green room. He felt eight years old again, knocking on Mrs. Westbrookeâs door when he couldn't wake his mom up to make dinner. His hands trembled as he grabbed the knob and twisted, easing it open. The room was empty. Eddieâs heart plummeted. Steve wasn't there. Steve was missing, and Eddie had this horrible feeling spreading through his entire body. He still wasn't sure why the feeling was there; he had never once had a reason to believe Steve was doing anything harder than weed. It was still there, though, and Eddie was panicking. He needed to find Steve. He had to make sure Steve was okay.
He headed for the bathroom next. The techs had said he went to the bathroom. Maybe something happened. Maybe he hit his head and couldn't remember where he was. The feeling said otherwise, but Eddie refused to believe it. He was overreacting. Steve was fine.
He was lying to himself.
The bathroom door was unlocked. He pushed it open, knocking. âSteve? Are you in here?â he called. He could barely hear through the rush of blood in his ears. He stepped inside, and he was sure his heart stopped beating altogether.
Just like that, he was ten years old. His mother was dead on the kitchen floor. Mrs. Westbrooke held him on her front porch as his mother was taken away in a blur of red and blue. He was ten years old, watching Wayneâs old pickup coming up the drive. Through the pounding in his ears, he could faintly hear the gravel crunching under the tires of the red truck. An odd comfort. A reminder of safety. What he wouldn't give to have that again right now.
âShe wouldn't wake up, Uncle Wayne,â Eddie said softly, his voice trembling as a few tears rolled down his cheeks.
Wayne bent down, his old knees creaking, and pulled Eddie into a tight hug. âI'm sorry, Ed.â He squeezed tighter, letting Eddie bury his face in his worn flannel. âYou're gonna come stay with me for a couple days, âtil everythin' gets settled.â
âI don't got any clothes, Wayne.â
âDon't you worry âbout that right now. Weâll figure somethinâ out. I promise itâll be alright.â
Steve was lying on the bathroom floor. Eddie couldn't breathe. There was a bag of colorful pills, so similar to the ones his mom had taken, sitting on the sink counter. Next to it was a line of white powder. Eddieâs vision blurred with tears as he dropped next to Steve, shaking his shoulder.
âSteve? Steve, baby, wake up. Please wake up.â Eddie was gasping for breath through his sobs as he tried to shake Steve awake. It wasn't working. He wasn't waking up.
âMama? Mama, come on. You gotta get up.â Eddie crouched down next to her, shaking her shoulder. âMama, please. You can't sleep on the floor.â
âPlease, baby,â Eddie begged, pulling Steve into his arms on the bathroom floor. âPlease. I can't lose you too, Steve. You gotta wake up. Please wake up.â
âEddie? Are you okay?â The bathroom door opened. Jeff walked in, stopping dead in the doorway. It only took a few seconds for him to gain his bearings and jump into action. He crossed quickly, bending down next to them. âShit. What happened?â
âI- he- he won't wake up, Jeff,â Eddie sobbed, still holding Steve tightly.
âOkay. Okay, let's not panic yet.â
The cracks in Jeffâs voice were not comforting. Eddie was already panicking. He'd been panicking since the feeling started to solidify, since he didn't find Steve in the green room. Eddie was well past not panicking. Eddie was teetering on the edge of a full-blown panic attack.
Jeff glanced around, took notice of the drugs on the counter, the way Steveâs chest wasn't rising or falling. He wasn't breathing at all. Jeff stood up quickly. âI'll go get help. Iâll be right back, Eddie. It's gonna be okay.â
Jeff ran from the bathroom. Eddie could barely hear the slap on his shoes on the linoleum in the hall over the sound of his own sobbing, the blood still rushing in his ears despite it feeling like his heart had stopped beating. He held Steve against his chest, burying his face in his hair. He silently begged the universe not to take Steve away from him. He wouldn't be able to handle losing anyone else. He needed Steve.
Eddie wasn't sure how much time passed before Jeff came back, paramedics in tow. All he knew was that Steve wasn't waking up. No matter how hard he tried, no matter how much he begged and cried, Steve wasn't waking up. His skin was pale and starting to grow cold. There's remnants of white powder on his nose. The paramedics try to move him from Eddieâs arms, but Eddie can't let go. He can't lose Steve.
âEddie, you have to let go,â Jeff said gently, trying to tug Eddieâs arms off Steve.
Eddie shook his head. âI- I can't- can't, Jeff,â he forced out between sobs.
âThe paramedics are gonna help him, Ed, but they can't do that unless you let go.â
âThe paramedics are gonna try to help your mama, honey,â Mrs. Westbrooke promised eight-year-old Eddie as they watched from her porch. âEverything'll be alright, don't you worry.â
He missed Mrs. Westbrooke. He wished she were here to hold him, tell him he would be okay. He wanted to sit on her porch in the creaky rocking chairs, eating fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. He wanted safety and familiarity. It'd been a hard day for Eddie when the old woman died. He'd give anything to be back there with her, instead of here in this living nightmare.
Eddie reluctantly released Steve. The paramedics moved him to lie flat on the floor. Jeffâs arms wrapped around Eddie as he continued to sob. Eddieâs hands grasped at Jeffâs shirt. It was clean and dry. He must've changed after the show. Before he found them. The paramedics took Steve away, but Eddie couldn't move. He couldn't breathe. His whole body shook. He couldn't stop sobbing. Over and over, all he could think was that he felt like a little kid again, back when everything was falling apart. Steve was going to die, just like his mom did.
It was all Eddieâs fault.

Who are You? Part 2 || Jake "Hangman" Seresin
Summary: After breaking up with you lovely cheating fiancée you find a place to stay at your Aunt Penny's house in San Diego. You might just get more than you bargained for when you meet the Jake Seresin.
A/N: Hi friends! Sorry, this took longer than I wanted to, I wasnât originally planning on doing a Part 2, so it took a bit to come up with a decent storyline. Please, as always, let me know what you think! Thanks for all the love. This is all fluff. Pure fluff! Also, you like sharks.
Pairing: Jake âHangmanâ Seresin x Y/N
Word Count: 5,800+
Part 1
âShark Week! Shark Week! Shark Week!â You chanted excitedly hopping on the couch next to Amelia.
âAre you seriously wearing a shark shirt Y/N?â Amelia asked peaking curiously at your Jaws shirt. You loved sharks. You always have always thought they were fascinating. You could thank your mother for that. Emily Benjamin, now Emily Y/L/N. The admiralâs other daughter was also obsessed with sharks. From an early age Admiral James Benjamin took Emily and Penny to go see the sharks at the aquarium. Your mom was quickly obsessed. The two of you always watched shark week together, very animatedly.
You wide eyed her, disappointed in Pennyâs not as enthusiastic nature, âAnd youâre not?â
She laughed tossing the remote in your direction, âNo, I didnât know it was shark week.â
You gasped, rather dramatically, making her turn around in shock, âAmelia Benjamin! That is unacceptable.â You found the Discovery channel right before 8 oâclock hit, grinning in anticipation of learning some more about sharks.
She shrugged, âNow I know. I guess Iâll watch with you?â
âYou guess? Youâre sitting here until 11 with me. Itâs Great White night.â You laughed softly knowing you were straight up nerding out on her.
âThereâs nights for specific sharks?â
You nodded, âOnly the really popular ones. My favorite, the Tiger Shark, doesnât get as much love as they deserve. They unfortunately donât get a night.â
âYou have a favorite shark?â She smirked turning her body to you fully. Amelia knew a lot about you, she didnât know this though. This was interesting to her.
âYou donât?â
âNo.â She answered honestly, never really thinking about. See, Penny wasnât nearly as obsessed as your mom, Emily is. She didnât have shark week marathons rolling like your mom did.
âWow.â You feigned hurt placing a hand over your heart, âWell itâs a great week to pick a favorite one!â
She shook her head laughing at you, âYouâre precious Y/N.â
âNow,â You clicked your tongue, âA 15 year old should not be telling an almost 30 year old that they are precious.â
âWell,â She challenged you, eyeing you like she was the bigger person, âYou are. Iâve never seen anyone geek out on shark week like this.â
Just as you were about to counter, Penny came through the front door. Pete in tow. Your face lit up, âYou guys are home just in time for shark week!â You spoke clapping your hands with glee.
Penny smiled while Mav looked straight up confused, âEmily is that you?â
âShould I facetime her in?â The idea popped into your head.
Penny giggled, âNo Y/N. Your mom will be too invested to even hold a conversation with us, no point in calling her while itâs on.â You nodded in agreement. The two of you had a system down, no talking while the show was on. But the two of you debriefed during commercials. A mother and daughter shark week combo.
âWhatâs going on?â Pete chimed in looking bewildered.
âItâs shark week!â You grinned up to him, not daring to move from your comfortable spot on the couch.
âDuh, Mav.â Amelia winked at him knowing how lost he was.
His eyebrows were stitched together in utter confusion, âOkay. And?â
You grumbled, âIâm not doing this again.â You frowned turning your attention back to the TV.
Amelia let out a roaring laugh, âY/N loves sharks. Just like momâs sister, Emily, does. Y/N here, is getting a little agitated that we all arenât sharing the love when it comes to sharks.â
âItâs fine. You donât have to love sharks. Just means youâre opinion is wrong. I wonât hold it against any of you.â You smiled sweetly at the trio.
âJust like Emily.â Penny laughed ruffling your hair.
You spent the next three hours entranced by the Discovery channel. To your surprise all three of them stayed to watch with you. You saw the way Pete and Amelia watched, more interested than they would admit. You answered all their questions hoping theyâd appreciate sharks just a little bit more.
The next morning as you got up you noticed the Discovery channel was turned on, Amelia watching eating a bowl of cereal. No sign of Penny or Pete just yet, âI knew Iâd make you a shark lover!â You clapped not being able to contain your excitement.
She shook her head at you, âActually pretty interesting.â
âTold you!â You poured your own bowl of cereal joining her on the couch again.
She shrugged, âSo, itâs Saturday.â She cocked her eye waiting for you to continue.
âYes it is, Iâm glad you can read the date.â Chirping back to her you suddenly were super interested in the bowl of cereal.
She pushed you lightly, âShut up, Iâm talking about your date tonight with Jake.â
âWhat about it little cousin?â
âWhat are you guys doing?â She questioned curiously. Amelia knew of Jake. She had seen him around a a few times just knowing how he operated. Amelia knew that Jake was likely not the man you were going to spend the rest of your life with, but she hated seeing you sad over a loser who cheated on you. She was desperate to get you thinking of something else. Her solution was to push you towards the cute Naval aviator who was too smooth for his own good.
You looked down at your phone seeing his recommendations for wear he had sent you the previous night, refusing to give you details of the date. He said he had some plans and that you should dress comfortable, youâd be doing some walking. You were simply praying you werenât going on a hike. You liked the outdoors when it came to the beach and the water. But hiking outdoors was not your best friend.
âHe wonât tell me.â
She giggled, âHeâs surprising you.â
âMhmm.â You sighed, âIâm a little concerned. But he seems like a nice enough guy.â
You heard Pete make his way down from Pennyâs bedroom. You ignored what you knew was going down up there, âWho? Hangman? Nice?â Pete chucked starting the coffee maker up.
You narrowed your eyes in on Pete, âHe is nice, nice to me at least.â
Peteâs chuckled turned into full on laugh now. He joined you and Amelia in the living room once the coffee maker was humming, âHangman might be the biggest asshole Iâve met. Thatâs saying a lot considering who I work with.â
You frowned, Amelia immediately noticing, âThatâs rich coming from you Mav.â Amelia countered seeing your mood deflate at the comment.
âOuch, Amelia. That stings.â He smiled, not realizing he had sent you reeling in your mind. Was he an asshole? He sure didnât seem like it. Maybe thatâs just the way he comes off in training. Should you go out with him? Itâs only been about a month since you and Aaron called it all off. You didnât hear the back and forth going on between Amelia and Pete, stuck in your thoughts. You were always stuck in your own mind.
âIsnât that right Y/N?â Ameliaâs question snapped you back into the present.
âWhat?â You turned looking to her.
She gave you a half smile seeing the confusion on your face and how such a simple comment could send you spiraling, âYouâre going to have a great date with Jake tonight.â She answered you.
Your mouth ran dry. Were you? Was he just trying to sleep with you? Get into your pants? âYeah⊠yeah I think so.â You faltered.
Pete could pick up on the sudden shift in the room, trying to backtrack, âAll pilots are assholes though, Y/N.â
Ugh. You felt terribly uneasy all of the sudden. You didnât think should be going on this date anymore, âMav!â Amelia shouted at him, again breaking you from your thoughts.
âWhat?â He asked her looking genuinely confused.
âYouâre freaking Y/N out.â She glared at him, arms crossed and all.
You hummed, âIâm okay.â
âNo, youâre not! Youâre about to cancel on him.â
You hadnât realized you reached for your phone subconsciously, âNo.â You shook your head not being able to form coherent sentences. Penny had a reason to watch Jake closely, why were you ignoring that?
Amelia was shooting daggers at Mav now, âYou canât cancel on him, Y/N.â
You sighed putting your phone down, âMaybe itâs not the best idea.â You concluded looking at your hands in your lap.
She snatched your phone from the coffee table, âYou are going on this date Y/N.â
You blinked a few times trying to get yourself to think straight, âWhy are you so adamant?â
Amelia groaned, âYouâve got to get out there. You canât let a douche bag break your heart and then hole up. Go on the date.â She smiled as kindly as she could muster putting your phone in her pocket.
âIâm going to need that Meals.â You held you hand out expecting the teenager to give it back.
âNot until you promise me you wonât cancel.â
âFine, I wonât cancel.â
Pete watched in amusement as the two of you went back in forth, âFor what itâs worth, I do think you should go Y/N.â He spoke throwing his two cents in.
âYou just called him an asshole!â You countered.
He shrugged taking his eyes off the shark program, âAnd Pennyâs going out with me.â
Amelia laughed at his quick comeback, âHeâs got a point.â
You groaned getting up from your seat, âIâm going. Can you give me my phone back?â
She gave you a mischievous look shaking her head, âYouâll have to catch me first!â She sprinted right out the front door.
You gave Pete a bewildered look, âWhat the hell?â
He laughed seeing Amelia run around the backyard, âSheâs just excited youâre around.â
âSheâs crazy if she thinks Iâm running to get her.â
Pete smiled, âSheâll tire herself out eventually anyway.â
âA real life Golden Retrieverâ
You took your time getting ready. Opting for a cute sundress and a pair of comfortable sandals. After Amelia finally gave you your phone back you confirmed you were not in fact hiking, thank goodness. Amelia helped you as well, picking out the Jake confirmed he was picking you up at 1 oâclock sharp.
You felt your heart rate pick up the pace when you glanced at your phone showing 12:55. Now or never. Penny and Pete were out back doing something with Amelia doing homework in the kitchen, always doing homework.
âOh wow, you look really pretty Y/N. Like really pretty.â She excitedly clapped her hands together, âMom! Come look at Y/N!â
âYou look beautiful.â Penny placed her hands on both of your arms, âYou look just like your mom.â She squeezed you into a hug. Pete stood there in the doorway awkwardly smiling, unsure of what to say.
All of your attention was suddenly on the door when three loud knocks rang through, âAct normal! Go away!â You shooed everybody back to their previous spots.
âHave fun Y/N.â Penny gave you another squeeze before heading back outside. Pete nodded to you and Amelia was not so discretely staring right at the door doing her âhomeworkâ.
You composed yourself. Itâs just a boy. Thatâs all it really was at the end of the day. You opened the door being greeted by the most handsome man, âRight on time.â You gave him a closed mouth smile feeling awfully self-conscious all the sudden.
You couldnât take your eyes off him, not even for a split second. You could really see why women swooned over Lieutenant Jake Seresin. He carried himself so confidently, always so seemingly sure of himself. His demeanor also sucked you right in. He didnât even have to say a word and you were nearly breathless.
âYou look,â He took a step back quickly admiring you, âdownright breathtaking darling.â
You turned your head away ever so slightly having to mentally remind yourself not to fall for everything he says. He sure had the charm.
âThank you.â Act normal. You prayed you were wearing enough makeup to cover the blush spreading across your cheeks, âYou look great too.â
âAlways do.â He winked holding his hand out to you. Was that a red flag? Should you even be doing this right now? You tried to shut your brain up enough to just enjoy yourself with the handsome man. Whatâs the worst that could happen?
You stifled a chuckle careful not to feed into his ego, âRight. So, where are we going Mr. Seresin?â
âItâs a surprise sweetheart.â He walked slightly ahead of you, beating you to the car. You bit your lip stopping the smile that inevitably spread across your face when he opened the car door for you.
âA surprise hmm?â
He nodded grinning from ear to ear, âPenny told me just how much you love them.â He emphasized.
Crinkling your nose you tuned to him, âYou talked to Penny?â
He motioned for you to buckle in, not daring to move until you were secured. You obliged before he continued, âThank you. And yes, I talked to Penny.â
You rubbed the back of your hand, âWhy?â
Eyes sparkling at your confusion he couldnât help but to chuckle at it, âI couldnât go into a date with a pretty girl without knowing something about her.â
âOh.â You answered quickly. Throwing your head back against the head rest lightly. How were you supposed to continue the conversation?
Smirking he squeezed your hand, dropping it all too quickly. He fired up the truck and started driving before continuing, âSo, heard youâre an engineer.â
You hummed in conformation feeling suddenly so self-conscious in front of him. He was beautiful, really beautiful. His green eyes kept growing on you, constantly swimming in emotion. Every time he smiled there were those cute dimples that you always wanted to see. So far so good, he opened the car door for you and all, your fiancé never did that for you.
âWhat kind?â He wanted more, he needed to know more about you. You were a closed book, hardly giving any information other than the big details.
âI used to work at a plant, in manufacturing. Made vehicles. The days went by quickly and I enjoyed it. I got a new job in quality though thatâs completely online. It let me come out here.â
âYouâre smart.â He clicked his tongue trying to subtly complement you. He noticed youâre aversion to attention, the way you shied away from it. You didnât like the overt attention he loved to give. Heâd tone it down for you, make you comfortable.
âSure... uh thanks.â A flush crept down your neck, why couldnât you just act normal around him? You really never had this problem with Aaron. This was all brand new territory for you.
âAnytime beautiful.â He flashed you that beautiful smile you already craved from him. He paused the conversation focusing on getting to where he had planned.
âI think youâd have to be pretty damn brave to be a pilot.â You continued, wanting to hear his voice. Slowly falling for that southern accent.
His lips twitched forming that signature Jake smile, âOr stupid.â
âOr stupid.â You cracked up next to him, âFearless.â You breathed out looking towards him. His eyes softened looking at you, not having much time to take you in before turning back towards to road. He grabbed your hand instead.
You were more than thrilled he was holding your hand so gingerly. He drew circles on the back of your hand with his thumb. The chills that were sent up your arm were inevitable, âFoolish.â He countered.
Shaking your head you admired his side profile, handsome, so handsome, âI thought you were supposed to be the cocky one.â You countered, almost begging to see the side of him.
He briefly looking over to you, seeing the amusement in your eyes, âI wouldnât worry about that if I were you.â He grinned to himself. You really were beautiful. He felt lucky to be taking you out on this date. He didnât know what you triggered in him, but it was something.
You paused admiring the view outside. The two of you were riding along the Californian coast, it sure was beautiful out here.
âPenny for your thoughts?â He questioned seeing you seemingly deep in thought sat across the vehicle.
You turned back to him gleaming, nature recharged you, âItâs just so beautiful. I feel lucky to be here is all.â You admitted, did he know you were talking more than just about the coastline?
He nodded in understanding, âIt sure is.â
The rest of the ride the two of you sat in relative silence, picking up conversation every now and then. You pulled into the San Diego Aquarium. Your eyes lit up realizing just how much your aunt divulged to him. You couldnât help the smile that spread across your face, âAunt Penny set you up for success.â You squeezed his arm, feeling a surge of confidence.
He looked down you sweetly, loving the reaction this was getting from you, âSince Iâm making you miss your favorite shows, I thought weâd come see the real thing.â
You nodded in approval, âThis is cool. Thank you Jake!â You gave him a quick hug. You didnât see the small frown when you pulled apart from him. The frown was quickly replaced by a grin as you grabbed his hand high-tailing it for the entrance.
âI didnât realize you liked sharks so much Y/N.â
You grinned sheepishly, feeling your ears burn warmly. Hopefully the blush would just stay there and not spread to your face, âDid you know, the whale shark is the largest shark in the world? That we know of. 46 feet!â You gushed.
âI did not.â He laughed seeing the pure bliss in your expression, pulling him along into the building. You wasted no time
âMy favorite is the tiger shark.â You mumbled dropping his hand when you got to the counter. That self-consciousness was creeping back up on you.
âOh yeah?â He entertained you. Clearly, he could see how much you adored sharks, so you wanted to know more, âWhyâs that?â
You perked right back up, he was seemingly interested, âThey look like swimming tigers!â You grinned, âThey have the coolest stripes. I donât this aquarium will have them, theyâre not from around here but they really are the coolest.â You rambled on.
This time he took your hand after you were admitted to the aquarium. You let him, of course, âWant to go see some sharks?â He asked peaking his eyebrows up curiously.
âYes please!â It took everything in you to walk normally to the exhibit, all you wanted to do was skip your way over there. You really did feel like a little kid in a big candy shop.
Your eyes couldnât help but to light up when you got to the exhibit, âLook! A hammerhead.â You pulled him close to the glass pointing the gentle giant out, âDid you know theyâre immune to stingray barbs?â
He grinned looking down at you just from seeing the sheer joy on your face, âYou have a fun fact for every shark?â
âI might.â You turned away from him hiding the blush that was setting in.
He chuckled leaning into you ever so slightly. Your eyes fluttered feeling his body heat next to you. What was it with him? Why did he put you under such a spell? The scent of his cologne was almost enough to make you want to jump on top of him, right then and there, âItâs cute.â
âSure.â You mumbled feeling the embarrassment consuming you whole. You turned your face completely back to the exhibit, as far away from him as you could.
Jake could see you close off again. That small glimpse of you, your unadulterated joy, was exactly what he was searching for. He had a feeling you were likely teased because you loved sharks as much as you did with the way you tried to shut him out so quickly. He wouldnât have that, couldnât have that. Feeling like he needed to do something to show you that he was genuinely interested he shifted himself to stand right behind you. Slowly, he wrapped his hands around your torso. He leaned down to speak to you, âIs this alright?â He asked first before continuing.
You nodded not being able to find the words to answer him. He quite literally rendered you speechless. Having him this close to you was sending you mind into a panic. He was nearly on top of you, pressing himself lightly into you as he held you from behind in his arms. He smelled so damn good too. You couldnât get enough of whatever warm and spicy cologne with a hint of vanilla that he had on, âIâm not joking Y/N. Itâs adorable how much you know about sharks.â He whispered into your ear sending a violent chill down your body. He knew what he was doing, there was no way he didnât know what he was doing to you.
Nodding your head again you bought yourself another few seconds to respond, âTheyâre fascinating fish.â
âTheyâre fish?â He sounded genuinely surprised, still so close to you. The pair of you probably looked much closer than you actually were. Jake was bold wrapping you in his arms like so. You adored it though. You werenât the biggest physical touch person previously but there was something that was so comfortable about him. You didnât mind holding his hand, you wanted it. You certainly didnât mind having him hold you so closely, being sucked in by him.
âThey are! Theyâre special though.â You turned your body around breaking the hold he had you in. He didnât step away from you. Instead, he placed his hands around you on the handrail, your back brushing up against it. Holy shit, you hadnât thought this one through. You were chest to chest with Jake, heart beating rather erratically.
âWhy are they special?â He looked right at you, forcing you to focus back onto the conversation.
âRight, uhm.â You took a pause collecting yourself, âThey donât have bones. Just cartilage.â
âIs that so?â
You hummed feeling terribly overwhelmed. You were sure your brain was going to short circuit if he didnât step away from you soon, âPretty cool right?â You managed to squeak out, voice getting a bit higher as you spoke.
He could see your interest in the situation changing to being curious to overwhelmed by his proximity so he backed off as subtly as he could. Pointing to another shark to distract you he continued, dropping his hand from the railing so you could breathe, âWhatâs that one?â
You thanked your lucky stars that he picked up on your complete inability to form a coherent sentence when he stood that damn close to you. What was wrong with you? Was this what being interested in somebody was supposed to feel like? To feel so incredibly flustered that a conversation canât even be held? You certainly hoped not. It would be nice to hold a conversation with the handsome man at some point.
You looked to where he was pointing, âOh! Thatâs a baby Lemon Shark.â Gushing, you turned to see him watching you instead of the shark. Jake was enamored with you. How could you do this to him so quickly? He knew how quickly he was in trouble seeing you so expressive about something everybody thought of as so common. He watched you point to the different sharks spouting off all kinds of different facts about them, finding it so endearing you cared to learn so much.
âCan I ask you something?â He stopped as you started talking about how much Great White Sharks can weigh.
You stopped your rambling giving him the go ahead, âSure.â
âWhy didnât you do something with sharks as a career? You clearly have a lot of love for them. Iâm sure you care about other sea life as well.â He asked genuinely curiosity, wanting to know you.
You sighed not loving how you missed your chance from an early age to do something in the field instead of the engineering work you were doing now, âMy dad is all about practicality. He always talked about how being an engineer gave him a good stable life and being a marine biologist make life tough. It was like that my whole life. I guess after hearing it for eighteen years you make the choice to become an engineer instead.â You admitted to him, probably the most information you have divulged to him yet. No, definitely the most.
He nodded reaching for your hand again. Placing your hand in his he spoke up, âYou donât sound too thrilled about it.â
âI wish I wouldâve followed my own path, not my dadâs.â You paused wondering if you should continue. With the intensity he was looking at you with you decided to just let it all out, âI donât hate being an engineer. I just⊠I donât love it. Itâs hard to go and do something every day that I could really care less about.â
The corners of his lips turned up slightly, âThatâs why Iâm a pilot.â
âI admire that.â You spoke quickly, the word vomit flying out of your mouth. You decided to clarify before he could make a silly comment, âI admire that you did what you wanted to do from an early age. You didnât let your family convince you not to do something because of money.â
Squeezing your hand, he led you deeper into the exhibit. Finally, he was getting somewhere with you, âWell thank you darling. But I must admit, nobody was going to stop me. My parents gave up trying to tell me what to do once I got into high school.â
You giggled. This didnât surprise you. Jake was so sure of himself, he oozed confidence. Not cockiness, just confidence. A trait that you wished you could fix in yourself.
âThatâs part of the admiration. You wore them down instead of letting them wear you down.â
He looked at you with adoration in his eyes, something you hadnât seen from your loving fiancĂ©, âThank you Y/N, really.â
âAnytime.â You let him lead you throughout the exhibit. You felt more comfortable the longer you were around him, opening up even more as he asked you questions. You felt all the worries of earlier start to slip away from the forefront of your mind. He certainly wasnât the asshole Pete was describing earlier. He was the guy you spent three hours chatting with on the beach. He was so attentive and kind to you, you couldnât possibly imagine him as Hangman. It was almost like they were two different people.
âIt takes a lot to admit that.â He continued the conversation seeing as you were lost in your own head, he had to bring you back to reality.
Your shoulders deflated slightly, âI realized it my first year in a manufacturing plant. Not exactly my passion.â
âThereâs plenty of time to change what you want to do.â
You looked at him incredulously, âSure there is.â
âThere is!â He stopped walking pulling you close to him again, âDonât let time stop you.â
Biting the inside of your cheek you turned away from him. Sure, you were still young but what you wanted to do was something so dramatically different than what you were currently doing, it seemed impossible, âIâll think about it.â You hummed knowing he wasnât going to drop the conversation. So, you needed to end it.
âGood.â He grinned continuing the walk, âEveryone deserves to be happy. Especially the beautiful woman standing next to me.â
âShush.â Your face flushed almost immediately after that comment.
âNever. In fact, Iâm going to compliment you so much you wonât know what to do with yourself.â He stood proudly. Jake noticed quickly you werenât good at receiving compliments. You either turned away or told him to shut up. His gut was telling him you werenât used to receiving them all too often, having a defense mechanism ready to go. It hurt him knowing you were engaged to somebody who didnât compliment you, such a simple thing. Jake had a hard time understanding men who would get into relationships just to bring down the woman with them. He wanted to be in a relationship with somebody he couldnât get enough of. He wanted to shower somebody special in compliments all the time, he craved it. He just hadnât found the right woman yet to share that with.
âThatâs unnecessary.â You countered. Jake was right of course. You were tragic at receiving compliments.
âI disagree. Compliments are very necessary.â
âAre they?â You spun around from the spot you stopped to watch eyeing him.
âThey are Y/N.â He returned the stare you were giving him, giving you a goofy look.
You smiled seeing how he eases any conversation, âAlright Jake. Iâll let you have this one.â
âLike I said, smart.â He winked lightning the mood a tad.
Shaking your head, you attempted to hide the stupid grin that was threatening to take over your face. There was something so special about him, you really couldnât get enough of it, âHa Ha. Youâre funny.â
âThank you Y/N.â He took a rather dramatic bow forcing a giggle to escape from your mouth, âAnd that is how you take a compliment my dear.â
âNoted Jake.â You let the stupid grin spread. He made you happy and you wanted to show him that. You couldnât remember the last time you smiled this much. You were quickly realizing just how wrong Aaron was for you when Jake made you feel all of these things. These weird, wonderful feelings.
âOkay, my turn.â He grabbed both your hands smiling at you brightly, âYouâre beautiful Y/N. Really beautiful. Breathtakingly beautiful.â
Your heart immediately sped up at the compliment. Your lips parted slightly thinking of your next move. Youâd normally brush it off, but he was trying. He was being so sincere you werenât sure if you could handle the sweetness oozing off him, âReally?â Was all you could come up with. It was better than running away from it though.
âReally.â He squeezed your hands giving you the reassurance you needed.
âThank you.â Speaking quietly your eyes looked down, not being able to look him in the eyes.
âThatâs a start.â He looked at you with such fondness in his eyes. He was a soft one you concluded. Very confident but soft. He wasnât afraid to show you his emotions. He was so unafraid he would rather make a fool out of himself to make you more comfortable.
The two of you spent the next few hours talking about anything and everything, the conversation often led back to sharks. You didnât realize just how long youâve been with him, the intercom let the guests know that the aquarium would be closing shortly, five PM already?
âShall we?â He asked pointing towards the exit.
âWe shall.â You nodded eyeing the sharks a few more times. You learned that it was a catch and release program that the aquarium was involved in. The aquarium would rehabilitate any hurt sharks before sending them back out into the wild. Giving you even more resolve to come and spend time here in the future.
He walked you up to Pennyâs door hearing the TV going off from behind it. You stifled a giggle hearing a shark show was playing, you were going to make them big fans before long, âI had a great day, Jakeâ
The softness came back out, seeing his eyes down turning just a bit, âI did too, a really great day.â
All your fear seemed to vanish, he wanted it too. He didnât seem like somebody who was simply playing with your emotions. He seemed genuine, âWant to do it again sometime? Maybe somewhere else?â
âAbsolutely.â He took a step closer to you, âCan I ask you one more question before I go?â
âShoot.â You whispered bridging the gap between the pair of you, leaving hardly any space.
âWhatâs your opinion on kissing on the first date?â He whispered just so you could hear it, not wanting your family on the other side of the door to hear what was going on.
Your damn heart picked up the pace again. You werenât sure how the date was going to end but Jakeâs bold moves gave you a little confidence, âI think great dates should.â
âYeah? Was it a great date?â His eyes softened a little more completely eliminating any sense of space between the pair.
You nodded biting your lip, now or never, âIt was a very great date.â
That was all the confirmation he needed. Gently, Jake placed his hands on either side of your face. He pressed his lips to yours actually short circuiting your brain this time. You kissed him back eagerly sending a smile right to his face. The kiss you shared was moving towards a full on make-out if one of you didnât break away. You didnât want to break away. It all felt so comfortable with him.
He decided throwing you against the outside of the house was not in his best interest albeit he wanted to. He wanted to do a lot more with you but knew heâd have to take it slow. For both of you. So, he pulled away before it got all too steamy. Cracking a smile when he saw disappointed look on your face.
Still with his hands cupping your face he continued, âHave a good night Y/N. Go learn more about sharks so you can educate me next time.â He quickly pecked your lips before dropping his hands.
âYes sir.â You winked back to him feeling a random surge of confidence. What you didnât know where the unholy thoughts he was thinking when you spoke to him like that. He really needed to leave before he tried something else.
You waved as he walked back to his car, admiring the view as he left. You walked into the house with three pairs of eyes trained right on you, âHowâd it go?!â Amelia asked jumping up from her spot on the couch.
âReally good. Like really good.â You admitted feeling a bit frazzled from the kiss.
âHangmanâs in trouble.â Pete chimed in with a cheery voice. Penny pinched him. Pete really loved to speak out of turn.
âWhat he meant to say is, weâre happy for you.â Penny smiled from her spot on the couch.
âDid you kiss?â Amelia clapped running up to you, wanting to know every detail.
âMaybe.â You admitted. She squealed continuing to clap her hands. Sending you into a fit of laughter you joined in on your cousinâs happiness. The two of you began to happy dance around the bottom floor of the house.
What you didnât know was that Jake waited for a moment to make sure you were in the house. He also heard the happy cries and saw you and Amelia jumping around the bottom floor. Shaking his head, he smiled ear to ear. Yup, he was a goner.

The New Heir - Chapter 1
And here we go everyone. Again, feedback is greatly appreciated. Warnings: mentions of bullying, kids can be cruel, minor violence, stalking Word count: 1.5k
Prologue, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4, Chapter 5, Chapter 6, Chapter 7, Chapter 8, Chapter 9, Chapter 10
Elias blinked a few times, looking at the board. His last period was math and as much as he loved the subject, he didn't like the last period of the day, regardless of what subject it is. He forced himself to focus, looking at the fractions.
He wrote down a little note next to a certain example, making sure that he wouldn't forget how it's solved. Elias' eyes went straight to the clock.
3 more minutes. Just 3 more minutes and he would be free. He just has to make it for 3 more minutes. His eyes travelled over the classroom. His best friend stopped writing a minute or 2 ago and was just watching the clock.
Elias' eyes travelled over the people in the classroom. Everyone was just ready to go home and rest. Everyone was tired. Some were following along and some were just mentally not there.
And Elias' eyes fell down on the one and only Damian Wayne. He still remembers how shocked the Gotham public was when it was revealed that Damian was Bruce Wayne's biological son. Him and his mom remember being shocked about it.
And she was more shocked that he went to public school and not private, but Bruce Wayne often said that he wanted his children to have a normal life, despite their celebrity status that they obtained by default.
But Damian Wayne was the first kid of the four sons that was biologically connected to Bruce. Elias didn't know what to think about him at all. He was stand offish at school, but he was polite towards the teachers.
And he seemed closed off, as if he put a very strong wall around himself. Why would a 12 year old had to put up walls around himself? Elias didn't want to judge, but it was strange for a 12 year old to be so closed off.
His eyes travelled back to the clock, seeing that there was a minute left. He subtly put his pencil in his pencil case, along side his eraser. When the bell rang, everyone decided to pack it out of here.
Elias' heard something about don't forget the worksheet for the Monday. He gave it out at the beginning of the subject so Elias already had it in his notebook.
" Come on Elias, " Theo said, trying to hurry up his friend.
" Give me a moment. " Elias said, putting the last of his stuff in the bag.
" You are slow as hell. " Theo remarked, laughing at the the middle finger he got from Elias.
They left the classroom and went to their lockers to get their stuff. Elias didn't put a lot of stuff in it, he just stuffed his jacket in there. He took his jacket out and put it on. It was the end of September and it was getting progressively colder and colder.
There were some cheers and some howling. What the hell? Theo and Elias looked at one another. It was the bully of the school, Mark Johnson. Elias hated him.
He never liked bullies. Mark was an 8th grader and thankfully it was his last year here, but he was taller than the rest of the kids and that gave him a certain edge. Not to mention his 'friends'. More appropriate term would be lackeys. Maybe even sheep.
" Is that Mark? " Elias asked, rubbing his eyes.
" Yup. He is bullying Damian Wayne. He is holding something above his hand and Damian looks like he is going snap. "
Elias sighed as he watched it. Why would Mark bully a Wayne? Out of all people in this school, the biological son of Bruce Wayne? Nope. Not happening. Anybody who has a brain would see that that is a bad idea.
" Hold my bag. " Elias said, shrugging the said bag off of his shoulders.
" Elias, what are you going to do? " Theo asked, tilting his head.
" Just watch. " Elias said, giving his friend a smirk.
" Oh God, Eli don't do it. " Theo said, seeing already what was going to happen.
" Don't worry. " Elias assured Theo.
" I don't want you to be suspended. " Theo called out after him as Elias made his way, through the crowd. Theo sighed. Elias was to brave for his own good.
" Mark, give Damian his- " He stopped, looking up to see a sketchbook, then dropping his eyes lower to meet Mark's eyes " Sketchbook. " He said, making sure to keep his face neutral.
" Or what? " Mark said, smirking at Elias, leaning his head down. Damian was glanced at Elias. Now what?
" Or we will have a repeat of the last time we were in this predicament. " Elias said calmly, watching as the smirk disappeared. The crowd let out an ooh, clearly knowing what Elias was talking about.
Damian, in fact, didn't know what Elias did. He watched Mark's wheels turn inside his head. Elias just raised his eyebrow, silently asking him ' and what is it? '
Mark held the notebook even higher. Elias sighed, shaking his head.
" Don't say that I didn't warn you. " Was the only warning that Damian and Mark got before Elias swung at Mark's jaw. Mark grunted and stumbled back into the wall. Elias grabbed the notebook back and smacked Mark with it across the face. The crowd was laughing at Mark and Elias handed Damian his sketchbook.
" Thank you. Did you really punch him in the face before? " Damian asked, opening the doors to get out.
" I have. And damn, it felt good. " Elias said, taking his bag from Theo.
" It was a pretty sight. " Theo confirmed, moving out in the fresh air.
Damian and Elias followed too. Elias closed his eyes for a moment. He sighed, feeling the harsh wind against his face. Fall came to Gotham.
Damian went straight to the car waiting for him.
" He has a butler Elias. " Theo said, watching the car.
" He is rich. " Elias said back, walking down the stairs of the school.
" I know, but still! Imagine, a butler that does everything you want on a whim. " Theo dreamed as they walked side by side. Elias laughed at that. He didn't need a butler.
" Why are you laughing at me? " Theo whined, walking next to him as they were walking home.
" Because. Just because he has a butler, that doesn't mean that the butler does everything. I would bet you that he still gets stuff on his own. " Elias said, looking around as they stopped at a traffic stop. He didn't have a good feeling.
He saw a tall man, with black hair and green eyes, dressed like any other Gotham resident, but something was off. Way off. He was across the street from them and he was looking at them both. Elias' hunch went off.
" Theo, follow my lead and don't panic, " Elias said, grabbing Theo's arm.
Theo stayed quiet, guessing that Elias got a hunch. Elias had a detector for danger and that was a very useful skill to have in Gotham.
" Can I get an explanation? " Theo asked as they were walking quickly.
" I think a guy is following us. " Elias said quietly, seeing a subway. It was busy so they could lose him there.
" A hunch? " Theo pressed, walking down the old metal stairs.
" Yup. " Elias said, still not letting go off Theo's arm.
" Oh God. "
Elias stayed quiet, moving through the crowd. He looked back for a moment and he saw that the man was looking around. Elias pushed on forward, seeing the exit. Elias had a tight grip on Theo's arm and he moved him to go up the old metal stairs, making the run around the corner.
They have lost him.
" Come on, lets go. " They had around 10 minutes to their building.
" Elias, I can't run that fast. " Theo said, huffing.
" Well, I don't care. You are going to thank me one day. " Elias said, sighing in relief as they saw their building. He took his keys from his pocket and unlocked the front door.
Theo and Elias took deep breaths.
" Oh my God. " Theo said, panting.
" I know. "
" As much as I love this city, I hate it at the same time. " Theo declared, going to the elevator. He pressed the up button and Elias moved to stand next to Theo.
" I feel you. "
They stepped into the elevator once it opened it's doors. Elias pressed 2 and Theo pressed 3. The doors closed and the lift moved upwards.
They stood in silence and Elias said goodbye to Theo. He stepped out and unlocked the apartment door. Whew... This was insane. He took his jacket off and took his shoes off. His mom was going to be home soon and he would be able to tell her.
Who even was that man?
He went to the bathroom to wash his hands, sighing quietly. He went back to his room after drying his hands. A nap would be in order first.
He was tired beyond belief.

Sarah's Playground - 7
PREVIOUS CHAPTER
The wine bottles were exciting to me. As the sheltered girl I was, I had never even considered drinking before I was 21. The idea of getting to do something so adult with Lidia, the older woman who had made it her life's goal up to this point to treat me as her living baby doll, was enthralling. I remembered distinctly thinking to myself that this could be a turning point in Lidia and my relationship. Maybe I could be cool just like her?
I shuddered while still suckling at my mother's tit as I relived this new memory and realized how wrong and naive I was.
It didn't take Lidia long to find my Mom's wine glasses at all. She quickly went to the kitchen, put the bottles of wine down, and opened the precise cabinet where the glasses were located. I shot her a confused look. How did she know where those glasses were?
Lidia caught my look. As she reached into a drawer and pulled out a corkscrew, she responded to my unspoken question.
"Baby, don't look so confused. I've drank here dozens of times. What do you think I did after I tucked you in for an early bedtime?"
That made a lot of sense and eased my concerns a little.
"Oh, good," I said nervously, watching as Lidia pour two large glasses of white wine, "I don't think I should drink though. If Mom found out, she'd demote me back to third grade!"
Lidia smiled at me in response.
"Oh, don't be a spoil sport, it's your birthday weekend and you deserve to have some fun, right? I promise I won't tell your mom. I've never told her about our other secrets, right?"
I blushed at being reminded of the numerous weekends I'd spent with Lidia crawling around in a soiled diaper.
"No, you're right. You really promise you'll keep this a secret?" I asked hopefully.
"Of course!" Lidia said, handing me a glass.
I felt reassured. So, without hesitation, I took a big drink from the wine glass. I then immediately spat it out. It didn't taste like juice at all. Lidia laughed uproariously.
"Sweetie! You've gotta take it easy! It looks like juice, but doesn't taste like it. Why don't you try again, but just take a sip?" Lidia offered.
I obliged. I took a sip of the wine and made a face. This time, though I was able to swallow it.
"Great, now, how about we get some jammies on? I'll order a pizza and pop some popcorn, and we can have a Rom Com movie marathon?" Lidia offered.
That sounded wonderful to me. After years of being forced to watch Disney movies while suckling from a bottle with Lidia, the idea of drinking wine and watching romantic comedies with her felt almost too good to be true.
The rest of the night went excellently. I switched into my most comfortable pajamas and spent the night lounging on the couch and bonding with Lidia, who, for the first time in my life, was treating me as an equal rather than some stupid little toddler.
As I drank more wine, I started to get used to the taste. My head got fuzzy and my inhibitions dropped with each sip. I suddenly saw the draw of drinking. By the time 2 AM hit, Lidia and I had finished both bottles of wine and I was feeling pretty good. When I stood up though, I couldn't walk straight. Lidia giggled.
"Oh, sweetheart, you are wasted! Let me help you to bed!" Lidia said as she stood up, grabbed me by the shoulders, and guided me to my bedroom.
I smiled stupidly. Drunk and happy with my new found friendship with Lidia.
"Lidia, you know you are the... uh... best, right?" I slurred drunkenly.
Lidia laughed, "Yes, sweetheart, I do. Now let's get your drunk little butt to bed!"
I laid down in bed as Lidia directed, and, probably mostly out of habit, let Lidia tuck me in.
"Goodnight, Sarah," Lidia said as she closed the door to my room.
"Goodnight Lidy," I said as I closed my eyes, feeling the world spin around me.
I couldn't help but smile as I fell asleep. This was the perfect way to celebrate becoming an adult.
The next morning did not go nearly as well.
"Oh my god, Sarah! You said you haven't wet the bed since you were 13? You naughty little liar!" Lidia's voice woke me up.
"What? Yeah? I don't wet the bed anymore," I groaned, sitting up and feeling an uncomfortable cool wetness around my groin.
"That is not what your bed and pajamas say Little Missy!" Lidia said, throwing the sheets off of me and exposing my shame. She immediately pulled out her phone and took a picture.
"You know I have to tell your Mommy about this right? This is NOT the behavior of a real adult!" Lidia said.
"Please, don't! I thought we were friends?! This really wasn't even my fault, it had to be the wine!" I pleaded.
"Baby, you know if your Mommy finds out about this, and I didn't tell her, I could get demoted for being immature too. I have to tell her. Also, you are not going to complain about this anymore. If you do, I am going to tell your Mommy that you stole wine for me and your demotion will be MUCH worse," Lidia said.
"You... you wouldn't..." I stammered.
"I would, now, be a good girl and tell your Mommy about your accident," Lidia says, pressing the call button on her phone and handing it to me.
I almost wet my bed again right there out of fear of how my Mom was going to react.

3. my interest in astrology had been revived and now iâm going to spill my guts to probably 20 people on the internet :D
[TW: Mentions of ch1ld 4buse]
đŠ Dejanira in 4th house (Capricorn, 6°): Itâs unaspected to all of my planets and to my Nessus in 5th house. Dejanira represents the areas of life where one is susceptible to abuse, either from external sources or due to themselves [1].
Coincidentally, I also have 4° degree Saturn and there had been interpretations that the degree your Saturn will tell you what age you had to mature [2] and around this age, I was physically and verbally abused in the house by a caretaker my parents hired because both of them were working and couldnât really look after me, so it took a while for them to notice that I have been abused by my caretaker.
I have always felt a little neglected in my home because my parents were not really around and my grandmother definitely favored my cousins than me for some reason (I do feel my mom is her least favorite child, mommy issues run deep in this household, lmao.)
My home is comfortable but I do feel a sense of suffocation inside.
đŠ Anyways, from my constant observation of friend groups when Iâm bored... I have noticed that the leader or someone who is the groupâs core friend is a Libra moon. The link between the other people in the group.
(+) I find it cute when people become friends and they end up adapting each otherâs habits, lol. Makes you know what friend group they belong to and the person theyâre really close to.
đŠ I finally have my friendâs birth time (straight from the certificate). I might have an explanation as to why sheâs the only person I feel comfortable with skinship (Taurus Moon close friend). She has her Mars in my 4th house as this house also represents intimacy and bonding, and with her Capricorn Mars there, I feel physically safe and comfortable when Iâm with her.
đŠ Mars signs and body movement!
I came across this Lindaland forum about Mars signs and body movement, and for me, it is accurate (Link is in the last part).
đž Gemini Mars: being restless, darting eyes, fast-paced walker, and clumsy af (keeps tripping and stubbing toes even on a flat surface)
đŠ Leo Moons really care and is meticulous about their physical appearance, how they present themselves, and how they appear to others. This might be even more emphasized if their Moon is in the 1st house, however this placement might lead caring for their looks to being obsessive about it.
đŠ Someone with Juno conjunct Saturn might marry after 29 (Saturnâs years of revolution), will only have one romantic relationship in their life, and is a monogamist. Marriage might come later in life but is long-lasting.
đŠ Other people with Venus sextile Pluto, do you also tend to be obsessive with your crushes to the point of limerence? I have it at 0° which probably explains why I will rarely be attracted to someone, but when I do, I go all in and become limerent. every. single. time. Oh, and I also get deeply jealous even with an Aquarius Venus.
(+) Also, we are talking about Aquarius which is described as somewhat aloof and detached but friendly and humanitarian. This is how my friendships are, I am fine with being alone for some time and okay with just meeting once every six months with my friends. Just like my crushes, my social circle is very limited and I make new friends rarely. However, with my Venus-Pluto aspect, I also tend to be obsessive with them, the thirst to know every piece of information about them, because you need to know your friends, right?
đŠ Piggybacking on the Aquarius discussion, Aquarius Moons tend to be the first person in a room to greet you and acquaint you with the group, they also tend to have a wide social circle. An Aquarius Moon classmate of mine will bump into a person they know in, literally everywhere.
