Thinking about how perfectly a PacRim au would work with stancest (heavy PacRim spoilers below the cut)

Stan and Ford find out they're drift compatible due to being twins, and they enlist into the program to get away from Filbrick and because it carries that sweet taste of adventure and glory they always craved as kids. They get to the program, run some simulators and some bo staff fights, lo and behold, they're exceptionally compatible by all known projections (wonder why. couldn't possibly have anything to do with their deeply repressed and undying love for each other combined with their shared memories growing up together. nah.)

Here they also meet and befriend Fiddleford, an engineer working on the Jaeger program. Things go great for a while, until Ford starts expressing desire to study the Kaiju, veering dangerously close to idolizing them for their biologically perfect design. Stan is vehemently against this and only wants to focus on killing them. They have a huge fight and they both get kicked out of the Jaeger program.

Stan fucks off and learns to make a living chasing kaiju landfalls and selling off uncannily convincing fake Kaiju parts and materials at obscene prices to whatever Kaiju groupies roll through town in the wake of destruction to worship their "gods." (They remind too fucking much of Ford.) He pockets enough for himself and donates the rest to the victims of the attacks.

This goes on for a few years, until a Kaiju attack obliterates his hometown and kills his parents, brother, and sister in law. Leaving only their 2 young children, only 7 years old. Twins. Dipper and Mabel Pines. (Yes I'm screwing with the timeline here. It will happen again.) He doesn't have any other way to make a living, and they don't have anyone else to go to. So Stan sells El Diablo, uses the money to buy a junk RV, fixes it up, and takes the twins with him on a cross country adventure of heroic conning. Along the way, they encounter Soos, Wendy, Candy, Grenda, and the rest.

In the meantime, Ford works with Fiddleford to develope a pons that can allow him to drift with a recently dead kaiju. It takes a few years, but they finally create it. (By this time Ford has become the highest knowledge of Kaiju biology in the world, and Fiddleford is leading the entire Jaeger engineering program.)

They drift together.

For Ford, it's ecstasy, euphoria, sublime, righteous. Finally he has been proven right, finally he knows why all the Kaiju tissue samples are genetically identical, finally he knows that there is a higher being behind the Kaiju. And that higher beings name is Bill. (Not really. His name would be impossible for any human mind to comprehend, drift or no. But Bill is a good enough substitute.) And Bill explains [insert Bill's offer here].

Unfortunately, Ford and Fiddleford's minds and memories weren't very compatible to begin with, much less with an dead alien brain from another dimension in the mix, and as the weakest willed of the 3, Fiddleford suffers permanent brain damage and amnesia.

The strength of that drift with Bill allows for them to experience ghost drifting, aka drifting during dreams. Bill teaches Ford how to make an upgraded version of the pons with less risk, and how to preserve a Kaiju specimen indefinitely so as to drift with him over and over again. The repeated drifts build a permanent neutral bridge between Ford and Bill, and Bill becomes able to take control of Ford's body, even outside of the drift. Ford becomes less and less focused on the Kaiju attacks and the people dying, and more lost in all the wonders of the multidimensional planes bill shares memories of with him.

With the lead engineer of the Jaeger program mentally obliterated, and the chief Kaiju biology researcher being possessed by a Kaiju, and the lack of support from the world's governments in favor of building a wall across the coast to block the kaiju, the Jaeger program slowly starts to collapse.

That is, until the day Ford discovers [insert horrifying Bill revelation here].

He panics and calls the one person who might be able to free Ford's mind from bill, the one person with whom he had a statistically impossible level of compatibility. The person he was the most terrified to open his mind to.

Stan.

@thundersteel this one's for you~ Thanks for giving me an excuse to blabber 'bout this au! This post really got away from me lol, kinda becoming a mini fic for a while there.

So, the catalyst for I Grow Maddened (with grief) happens between The Last Mabelcorn and Dipper and Mabel vs The Future, with the twins dying before the Rift gets broken by Bill. Ford captures the creature (not sure what exactly it will be yet, but something with large claws for sure) likely while they're gone on the road trip, and it escapes and attacks Stan, Dipper, Mabel and Soos while he is down in his lab trying to figure out what to do about the Rift.

He only realizes something is wrong when Stan barges in, holding his bleeding stomach and screaming for Ford to come and help. Any anger at being disturbed by his brother is immediately drowned out when Stan collapses, clearly very hurt. His multiverse survival skills get him upstairs in record time, but he's too late: the damage has already been done. Soos is knocked unconscious and the twins are sprawled unmoving on the blood-soaked floor. The creature takes advantage of his shock and manages to catch his right eye with two of its claws before Ford recovers and manages to kill it. He tries everything to save Dipper and Mabel, but their injuries are too severe.

Ford panics when he realizes what's happened, knowing that losing the twins will kill Stan. They are his brother's closest family members, and Ford has just allowed his work to kill them. When Stan finds out, Ford knows that whatever fractured bond they have now will shatter irreparably.

Which is why Stan can not find out.

That absolute truth kickstarts Ford to action, running on autopilot while his mind tries to force what he has just seen into a little box to unpack later. He rushed back down to his lab and finds Stan slumped over, bloodied almost as much as the kids were, yet still breathing. Stan rolled the dice and landed a saving throw, it seems.

Years of living in monster-filled Gravity Falls and even more years spent being a multidimension-hopping criminal has left Ford with incredible first aid skills, and he manages to get Stan to a state where he wont, you know, die when Ford moves him to his bunker. Its a struggle; his twin has quite a bit of pudge and even more muscle, but Ford manages to drag him up to the main floor and out to good ol' El Diablo without injuring him further. The dark night sky masks his shameful, selfish act well, and he freezes Stan without issue, if you don't count his minor breakdown and bout of vomiting that occurs when he catches sight of the form a frozen Shifty has taken.

Soos is awake when he returns. Ford knows because he can hear the young man sobbing and screaming hysterically from well outside the Shack. He's almost mirroring Ford's earlier actions, frantically trying to stop any more blood from escaping the now cooling, tiny bodies. He catches Ford's gaze, and instantly begs for the elder Pines twin to help him.

Coward that he is, Ford can only give the handyman a deeply remorseful look as he slowly shakes his head.

It takes nearly an hour to convince Soos to let him get near the bodies once he realizes that it was Ford's captured creature that stole the life from his grand niblings. The man was closer to them than Ford had realized, and it only makes the gaping wound in his heart deepen as he watches him hold Dipper and Mabel close to him, uncaring that his shirt is now more red than green. He only allows Ford to take them when he points out that they will begin to rot if they stay where they are. As Ford leaves, he fishes one of those cellular mobile phones out of his pocket and shakily begins to dial someone's number.

It's not the police, not with the way Soos hesitates for so long before pressing the call button.

There is a large freezer within his lab, used for storing perishable specimens and the occasional popsicle. He lays Dipper and Mabel there for now; he will scour the valley for the perfect resting place when he has the mental capacity to grasp that they are truly gone.

When he returns, Soos is leaning against a doorframe, one hand holding his bleeding cheek as the other holds his device. Ford can faintly hear a feminine voice shouting on the other end, and he faintly recognizes it as the red headed cashier girl, Boyish Dan's daughter, if he remembers correctly.

In what seems to be his next breath, pain erupts across his jaw as someone delivers a powerful left hook directly into his face. There is screaming, the same as before but much louder now. He must have disassociated, because the girl is standing over him now, tears streaming down her face. Soos is beside her in a moment, pulling her into a hug as they both cry into each other's shoulder.

Ford cries as well, but the other two could care less. It is only what he deserves.

Yeesh, sad yet? I was originally just going to focus on Ford (and he's still my main focus) but then i realized that pretty much no one includes Wendy and Soos in AU's like these (heavy emphasis on Soos, my mans is done dirty) so i workshopped them in.

Soos is Ford's companion in the multiverse, coming along mostly to be a familiar face to whatever Dipper/Mabel they decide to 'adopt/rescue', but also to make sure Ford doesn't kill himself through neglect. He knows what happened was an accident, and he knows how badly Ford has been affected by everything, but a small part of him remains angry at the scientist. Dipper and Mabel were like younger siblings to him after the whole Globnar situation, and Stan is like a father to him. He leaves his handyman hat behind "until he can fix this" and instead sports a protective bandana and Dipper's Pterodactyl tooth.

Wendy absolutely blames Ford for what happened, and only doesn't enact lumber-justice because she also wants Dipper and Mabel back. She has taken up the role of Waddle's caretaker and occasional helper to McGucket, who is monitoring both the portal and Stan. The man feels he owes it to Dipper and Mabel to help, since they helped him get his memory back. She can usually be seen sporting the Huggy Wuvvy Tummy Bundle for Waddles and one of Mabel's sweaters wrapped around her waist. She and her friends also help keep the Shack functional, though she can't bring herself to go into the "incident room."

it works perfectly when a yandere likes you for your stubbornness, for the bite in your words—it's who you are. but sometimes, it gets too much.

dazai for instance, as someone so desperate for you to reciprocate his affection and love, would hate how standoffish you can be. it was cute the first few weeks, but now, he just wants a moment where you're compliant and unable to stop him from coddling you and spending every waking moment by your side. it's not all that unusual to you, either, dazai has always been excited and happy to nurse you when you're sick, and this is just another one of those situations. sure, there's no real cause for your sudden bouts of weakness, but you're too tired to think about it too much, and dazai keeps you pretty occupied.

fyodor generally doesn't want you to be so rude and curt with him. he's doing you a favor, by protecting you from the ugly world, and now, he's helping you stay home and not risk your life outside with all those ability users running around. this also helps him hide his doa-related crimes from you if he wants since you're constantly bedridden and unable to do anything else. it is a funny thought to see fyodor caring for someone when he's already so sickly, but he comes in to check on you every few hours and he may even tell you that your weak state is a result of mingling too much with ability users (apart from him, since he's only using his to carry out god's will). you don't have to believe it, and you probably won't believe it now, but when it comes to the point that you're constantly ill and exhausted of how sick you are, you're willing to do anything to stop it. of course you know it's fyodor; you'd be a fool not to know, but if pretending that you agree with him stops him from poisoning you so often, you'll take it.

jouno resorts to this as a worst-case scenario. he doesn't want to hurt you, but you just don't listen! regardless of whether it's a civilian/villain/hunting dog darling, he only uses this if you really refuse to heed his warnings. jouno knows all about the dangers you're exposing yourself to on a daily by leaving his side, and since you won't take care of yourself, you leave him no choice. i think the poisoning thing is also a way for him to keep a handle on you. since all the hunting dogs are tied to the military by the monthly checkups that kill them otherwise, jouno decides to use a similar tactic on you. unlike the other yanderes here, jouno would make it clear he poisoned you. he even tells you that only he has the antidote, and if you want it, well...you'll just have to convince him that you deserve it, no? i can see him upping the dose for when you're particularly getting on his nerves, and so on ^-^

it makes things easier because you can't blame them for keeping you in either, since they're not stopping you themselves, right? even if you're convinced it's the yandere who's at fault, causing you harm, you have no evidence. they're exceptionally good at hiding it, (especially since we're talking about dazai/fyodor/jouno).

"we're home!!" satoru called out to the apartment, holding flowers, followed by a young megumi and tsumiki for the nth time, who held their own bags of food from mcdonalds - with tsumiki carrying an extra one.

"what's this?" you ask, as he hands you the flowers.

"nothin', just thought you would'a liked 'em." he started. "do ya?" he asked.

"yeah, i do, they're lovely, but i was asking about the food." you said. "i was about to start cooking."

"i know." he started, "just thought i would save you the work of cooking and bring back some suuuper good food."

"ohh, and my food's not 'suuuper' good?" you teased.

"of course it is! but it's mcdonalds, sweets, literally nothing beats it!!" he stated, pulling you in by the waist with a sweet smile, and placing his lips onto yours with a soft kiss.

"i'm gonna check theirs too. what? you don't want me to check for poison?" satoru retorts. "do you really think i would just let you die if i can do something to prevent it?" he says, trying to persuade the child.

"okay..." megumi says, not fully convinced but handing the bag to satoru anyways.

"great!" he exclaimed, taking a bite and eating almost a quarter of the childs food. "tsumiki, you too!" he says to her, doing the same thing.

after finished the food and cleaning up, it was time for bed. after tucking in tsumiki and megumi, you both head to your own bed. you lay down with the comforter over you and rest your head on satoru's shoulder as he pulls you close to him.

"you know.." you start, "if you were hungry, i could've shared with you"

"i wasn't hungry! i was checking for poison." he retaliates with mock offence.

This is one silly, goofy man and you can't tell me otherwise. You think this is below him? Nah, he'll take any chance of entertainment he can get. There's nothing off limits or too cringe for him.

I mean hello?! It's the only time of the year he can literally be himself and people will think it's just a decent costume or special effects. Probably shows up headless or turns into a bat, shows people his 'puppies' or whatever.

Will absolutely overdo it, though. Terrifies the local children (and adults alike), the police will probably get involved at some point and Integra has to bail you guys out.

Ordinary events like these actually help him feel a little more human again, so he can't wait until next year.

Walter:

Not a fan of anything that had been introduced by the US, including this tradition. It wasn't part of his childhood either so he's not really eager to committ. Yet in the ends he loves to serve, especially people he's fond of, and he's very adaptable too.

Would like a more classy and mature approach, like going to some kind of masquerade. Could also see him hosting his own gathering.

There's literally nothing he can't do himself, from selfmade treats to a puppet show using his wires. Would absolutely love to do a partner-costume with you and can sew anything you want!

The Captain:

In all honesty this man would rather just spend the evening in peace and silence at home with you.

Is very passive about basically anything, but that means you can do whatever you want to him and he won't complain. Dress him up as something cute, chances are high he'll secretly love it. Doesn't even try to be scary, he just is.

Mostly just quietly looms in the background but he really is happy, he could watch you do stuff you like forever.

Seras and Pip:

They're the most hyped about it like?? omg yess thank you for asking

Wants to do it all: making sweets, decorating, trick or treat, visit a haunted house, go to a party. They have a whole childhood to make up for.

They're definetly pranksters and will wreak havoc in the entire neighbourhood. Act like Pip is some kind of glove puppet, use Seras' powers to entertain the children or make it rain candy, etc...

Despite being a literal median herself Seras is still soo jittery, will jump and scream at anything really. The fact that Pip tries to scare her doesn't make it any better. They're mostly giggling and chanting, though.

Integra:

To be honest it's been a while since this woman has actually enjoyed herself. It'll take a while to convince her but then she'll spare no expenses to assure the best experience ever. Private jet to all the best places it is.

No costume for her, she's intimidating enough. Gets in trouble for carrying real weapons too.

A lil' paranoid, always expecting the worst like an enemy to hide amongst the crowd. What better moment for a monster to strike would there be than during Halloween?

Calls it childish and unnecesssary a lot, but damn did she have fun (will rather drop dead than admit it).

Ok so the black book episode.

I finally watched it.

It could have done with a double feature. There was so much going on. And it worked, emotionally, but it was a lot. The plot was so fucking condensed.

Fuck when they do something they do it right, don't they. The deaths of the three were fucking harrowing. No fanfare or dramatics, just realistic and dead.

I'm so goddamn impressed by Sophie playing 12 different people. I love her. I know she gets a lot of recognition, but she deserves some more. Holy shit her voice training skills must be off the rocks.

I thought they would have hired Quinn for the police officer, he looked kind of similar, and then i thought it was him and Tara. But with Sophie being on phone theatre, of course Nate was free.

I wonder how fast Sterling figured it out. I think about half a minute into the room with Nate. The rest was just playing along, and hesitating whether to actually go through with the con, while setting up an outcome for both decisions. Usually i really don't think he has it all immediately figured out, but usually he isn't at quite that high alert, and the target isn't that clear and big a deal.

It really should have been a double feature, or a movie length episode. There needed to be more time, to really lay it all out.

I like what they used as the contents and method of collection for the black book. I watched another show (can't remember which) where it was some unsourced collection of various evil people, and that was soo shady and frustrating.

I've come across a bunch of Sterling/Nate shipping by now, and I'm starting to agree. Like that is genuinely a love story for the ages. However i am firmly convinced that it is entirely mental and intellectual. I just really can't see them having any relationship type. Not that Sterling wouldn't fuck Nate but that's just Mark Sheppard's insane gay flirting aura. But mentally, those two are having mind sex, and are tragic soulmate lovers. Also because they have divorced vibes. I'm convinced of the headcanon that they were in a couple friendship driven/held up by their wives socialising, and played 6d time travel chess mind games over barbecue (aka having a mind sex love affair right in front of the salad) (but really low key because they wouldn't actually cheat on their wives).

The way the con failed and they died was really realistic and well done and really stressed me out :(((( not over that.

Also the way this confirmed the Hardison-Eliot ship (platonic or romantic) was. Very much canon thank you. Not to mention the "till my dying day". Like hello??? Also the ice cave and rundown job train scene having already confirmed the depth of Eliot-Parker's bond earlier in the season. (But toxic masculinity and being a show from 2009 impeding the Hardison-Eliot part till the last episode/them dying (rituals to touch other mens skin etc etc flashbacks to superhell love confession sth sth bury your gays (except they lived bitch)).

Also the setup with "do you think you could live a normal life" earlier in the season. Also², annotation to that one: Eliot talking about having to help Hardison's restaurant, as if Hardison didn't buy it for him.

I liked the part about order vs justice. Very 'keeping the peace with an abusive person causing more harm than upsetting status quo'.

It's a good ending for a show. Seriously, it's both end of an era and not destroying everything that was before. Still glad we got leverage redemption tho obviously.

Parker being the new mastermind is great

Her monologue ajsbsjjd. I was cackling so bad. It was a fantastic way to really cinematographically tie up the show though, and she is great for the job. Both Hardison (who already has enough to do) and Eliot (who really doesn't like leading) always get way too deep into stuff, including their respective jobs for it, which is one reason why they're so good though don't get me wrong.

Why did she have slicked back hair with no bangs, and weird eyeshadow :( Awful 1/10. One point for her clearly thinking she needs to put on hair gel for stepping into a Nate role for a con, like that is exactly a logic she would have.

Eliot's blue tinted glasses, love it.

I like that they're not having one of the guys do it just for misogyny reasons, and that at the same time her doing it is very well supported and set up by their characterisations, and not as some sort of disrespectful shoehorned girlboss feminism move. Which ends up with a woman being the new mastermind being actually well done too. Because they never do annoying stereotypes at leverage, and thank fuck for that.

I love that Sterling was there for the last episode. Also, i swear, getting used by Nate for a con (while getting something out of it himself) is a kink thing for him. It happens genuinely almost every goddamn time we see him, while he knows and actively plays along.

I want to see more of Sophies telephone theatre :(

I was 100% convinced that Parker can hold him with just one hand, i was so shocked. Honestly one of the first clues from the story itself that it was fake. Yes i have that much trust in her. Second clue was the balloon.

No actually, first clue was Nate looking at the cameras. Can't remember which first clue came first in the episode.

I thought Nate gave Sterling something when he distracted him from the trio, and clearly Sterling also thought so, he probably took like several seconds to check if he had gotten anything slipped into his pockets afterwards.

I wish we could have seen more of the "you lied to us?" conversation at the end. Not that that wasn't the tldr of it or needed change, but i want to see the whole conversation.

The tunnels were great. I again wish to have gotten even a crumb more information on that.

It might have done well, and I'm just throwing out ideas here, to be a two parter episode, they could have really used some extra space. The plot was really condensed.

It was q good episode, and a very good ending, something oh so rare in tv shows.

"..." you stare at diavolo, squinting a bit. "why?"

Well, that was some plot twist, can I just say that Cami and Antoine were the real MVPs of this chapter? I loved every single thing they did and said in this chapter and I really really hope we see more of Antoine and Abigail, they are the only sane couple of this story (at least for now).

Most of the next generation, especially the kids you chose, to live in the same building has got to be one of my favourite plot twists. I'm shooketh. This has so much potential. Regine and Arthur? Kincaid wooing Arthur? Kincaid and Joan training and Arthur with Regine thirsting after them? Regine working through her feelings and becoming a better person? Lance witnessing Kincaid being a decent person and maybe being somewhat similar to him? Them hiding from the adoring crowd to a closet or something? Theia and Kincaid being amazing siblings in law? That storyline is a major game changer and I'm thrilled to see how you'll explore it!

Here are some things that feel like they're connected (but probably aren't): 1)Theia mentions in LBAF 5 that she "sees" Lance dating a mundane blonde girl, like a Barbie girl, which reminds me of Regine 2)It's been mentioned a lot that Regine/Lance were going to be married/parabatai by Madeleime when they were kids a lot 4)Arthur sees Lance with a parabatai rune. I honestly don't even have an actual theory about this, those things just seem to connect?

Speaking of the parabatai rune, if Lance and Arthur don't end up becoming parabatai(I can see Atlas figuring the runes problem) Kincaid and Lance kind of make sense? Not because they are close but because parabatai are supposed to share a soul. And both Kincaid's and Lance's soul is Arthur. So, in a way they're already sharing a soul.

Another crazy theory: The prophecy isn't talking about Lance/Kincaid but about Lucifer/Micheal and Lance and Kincaid clash is just the beginning of the war between the other two. Or when Kincaid burns Lance, it would destroy the pandemonium but Lance would live, and it would be the prince of darkness' demise because he would no longer be a portal? Or even that it would destroy Lucifer and not Lance? Can Kincaid use heavenly fire to hurt Lucifer?👀

I was so convinced that Joseph would come back I just had a feeling! Oh, I can't wait to see his interaction with Madeleine and how he reacts to what he hears everything she has done. I can see Madeleine believing that it's not really Joseph or at first believing it and after he tells her what she's doing is insane, her being convinced it's a ploy by Lance. But that means his death is a canon event 😭

I am DYING just picturing how the conversation between Max and David planning the trial went. How they came up with using the alliance rune. That would've been an amazing scene, I love these two

Okay, while it was very in character, the Lance/Max interaction I didn't like. Because I feel like Max should have listened to Lance. He was the only person Lance would've told the actual reason to. The only person that could assure Lance that what he did was pointless. He did the same thing with Magnus in LBAF II and the "I hurt the people I love so they should stay away from me" mentality Lance has adopted screams Max so he really should've heard him out. Because it wasn't a "bullshit excuse" it was an actual reason that makes Lance feel bad about himself. And Max had an opportunity to comfort him and ruined it. But Lance needed a good whooping. I hope he talks to David about this. Let David do the comforting part.

Lance being happy about Arthur breaking up with Kincaid, while completely understandable and in character also feels wrong. He should've asked, because Arthur is so terrified and when Lance shut Theia out it was because of very similar reasons. But he wasn't alone in it. He had Gwen and Arthur. Arthur is alone. And he doesn't deserve that. And for a really long time he chose it. He hid it from other people. But now they know. So they have a say in it. To question, to help , to support him. They have an opening now and I really hope they take it. David asking why Arthur broke up with Kincaid made me so happy. I really hope he questions Arthur a little deeper about it. Because Lance and Max won't. And I get why. But someone has to. David really is holding them all together isn't he?

Every other villan in this story doesn't hold a candle to Lucifer. The guy is not here to fuck around. He kept to the point, he didn't have unnecessary dramatics. I can really see why he is considered the smartest out of all of them. Again, he DOES NOT fuck around. And that was crystal clear when Lance said he hates feeling unwanted and Lucifer made it sound like he doesn't want him. He used his insecurity against him and whether he meant it or not it was a very strong start for him to manipulate Lance. Never underestimate Lucifer indeed.

On a happier note, a small reminder that this isn't the first time Lance gives Theia flowers! But it's the first time they reach her-bad Kincaid

The Magnus changing the canon event- his dreams going away- Max treating Alec like that are things I have locked away in a little box and I refuse to revisit them until we get to LBAF 7. But Magnus not having these dreams makes me super worried about Other Magnus and the epilogue will probably let us know about what happened. I am so scared about that🙃

Az: Caught off guard. Tries to not let it get to him, ends up distracted through his work all day. Secretly, tries to stalk your social media for any post and then would call you after the date to casually ask how was it.

Grant: Secretly annoyed. Congratulates you but unexpectedly shows up at the date place and say he doesn't know you'll be there. Lowkey tries to crash the date.

Leon: Conflicted. He desperately wants you not to go but would instead say, "You do deserve to go on dates especially with people your age." Then stops you before you go out, "Would you at least call me if something goes wrong? Please?" Also self-depecrates after.

Markus: Gets defensive and very hurt, it felt like a slap on him on the label you both had, after all, you're only friends with benefits. "Why not just date me instead?"

Isla: Secretly jealous. You don't notice it as she fusses and supports you with date ideas. Makes side comments, "If its not fun, ditch them, you know where to find me." You think its a joke but she's serious with that.

Conrad: Hurt but won't let you know. Ultimately, supports you and also tries to threaten your date. "Don't ever hurt her or I'll personally make your life hell."

Dom: Feels like all his chance went down the drain. "I hope you have fun." He'll excuse himself after then tries to busy himself with work but fails.

Law: Gets caught off guard as well. May do the unexpected and asks you for a chance of date too immediately or won't contact you at all due to jealousy then makes up his mind by showing up in your doorstep. "Can I go on a date with you after?"

🎮 VIDEO GAME CONTROLLER — what are three of your oc's favorite hobbies?

AH I'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT THIS SOO MUCH THIS WEEK. i think one of her main hobbies is prayer <3 what do you mean that doesn't count? okay uhhh.... ummm.... hmmm......

she is very much Not competitive so she doesn't usually play games or cards or anything like that, although if there was a thedas version of solitaire she would be down. she does really like horseback riding though and has had a few horses in her life that she's loved very very deeply and thinks they are the most noble creatures in the world. she's definitely the type who would personally braid her horses hair. (she also really loves doing braids for people. not as a hobby but out of love. she does do slutty little braids for varric.) but you will never catch her ass wanting to do any horse riding competitions she'd be like why can't we hang out with each other and listen to the birds :(

she also REALLY loves swimming! she's always had a huge fascination with water and the ocean and i think she had a fling w a noble boy when she was younger that was 10% interest in him and 90% him offering to take her down to the coast of the free marches to swim and she took him up on it. she definitely sneaks out of camp at night during inquisition to find a stream and swim in it but she is very much Not okay with nudity so she makes a camp guard come with her and then turn away and not watch until she's dressed again.

i also think and tbh i'm coming up with this lore on the fly but i think she is also really into Architecture and Building. she was a guard so she had to understand how criminals or bad guys or what have you could sneak into the city and launch attacks and i think that coupled with her reverence for Chantries as a building and not as a concept made her get really into architecture. i also think she is really interested in building boats. oh this is so cute actually......... now her and varric need a country estate in ferelden where they have a lake and a little boat and a dock..... but anyway i digress. i think she is very... she very much feels affected by When Things are supposed to give off a certain vibe. if a place is supposed to make you feel alone she feels alone, if a place is supposed to make you feel in awe she feels in awe, she can intuit intent very strongly which is part of why she is SOO loyal to the chant, bc the chantry makes her feel so strongly when she's in them. you know? so yes i think she reads a lot about architecture and she definitely always hangs around skyhold asking the people doing repairs what they're doing and why they're doing it etc etc

literally just memorizing the chant. as we know the whole thing is too long to recite in canon without taking a few weeks but she probably has a few sections she favours and that's because she worked tirelessly to memorize them in school. she doesn't have the best memory in the world so it took a while and those for sure stuck with her

like i said she doesn't have a great memory and i don't think it's not for trying i think she just THINKS so much that some things slip her mind. she is also a little bit of a preacher. she tries not to be but she definitely smiles at people when they do something good in a way that's very obviously her going "the maker would approve of this". she's a bit sanctimonious lol. i also think she avoids Fun activities unless persuaded and would rather sit by the fire with a good book and her best friend/favourite person or have an intimate dinner with friends. it takes her a lot of convincing for her to go out and get wasted, for example
