my deepest darkest secret is that i have a timeline in my head of the development of heizou and my relationship which i haven’t told anyone before and play through my head (almost) every night before i go to sleep

(last night i went on a full, like, half-hour long ramble to myself about the intricacies of our relationship. it’s basically a queer-platonic relationship with sprinkles of romantic interaction lmao. honestly i kind of wish i’d recorded it, but it was like 1am and i couldn’t be bothered to get my phone up, plus i was whispering under my breath anyway, so any recordings would have sounded weird as hell (weirder than it already is), but… yeah. that happened.)

Why is calling Allura "space mom" racist though I'm confused by that part. It always felt a bit weird to me so I never really interacted with the people who called her that back when I was super into this show in 2018.

first of all bear in mind that i'm a white person, so i am not really the deciding voice on this one, but imo allura being the "space mom" kind of swerves into the stereotype where black women are nurturing motherly figures (the "mammy" stereotype specifically). and while allura IS a kind caring person, i personally have never gotten any maternal vibes from her. she's not a motherly figure, she's a teenager who has been forced to take a leadership role in a war. putting her on the pedestal of "space mom" takes away from the fact that she's not an adult. too often her trauma is ignored by canon and fanon, and portraying her as an adult whose primary role is to take care of the kids only does that even more. not to mention the racist undertones of actively changing a character to make her fit a racist stereotype

I miss the days where the aus were wildly out of sync with the actual story when all we had was a few names a few tapes #and we all went wild making our versions of the story and characters and then got so attached to them we doubled down #when canon didnt deliver on em #umm oops this is long have a great new year folks! I don't know why Archie and Maxie potentially, honestly, just being in their late 20's throw me off so much.

For context, in ORAS Tabitha said that he has recently turned 27. And I would assume that this would mean that the other major magma officials and by proxy, the aqua ones that parallel are potentially around this age. I've always seen Maxie and Archie the oldest of their respective trio. And like yeah, they would still be like 30 or something, but my brain is just catching up to the potential ( key word potential) that these guys are just some dudes in their late 20's and not like. In their 30's or so. Like they would be younger Birch( he's 35) and only a few years older than Steven ( and Cyrus!). Also I'm realizing that Tabitha is I think younger? Than my hc age for Wallace (28. Might push it down at 27 for the bit but yeah). Back to Archie and Maxie, I never really thought they were old per say. Again, I generally thought they were in their 30's. Not old by any means, but definitely not in their 20's.

Though I will say, with all of that being said, there is something funny about these two pushing 30 and deciding to make a big stink about. Let them have an existential crisis or something and choose the worst way possible to deal with it lmao. Can you guys please be normal for like, a minute, please-
