wanted it to fit the theme. also i adore the last twilight rooftop kiss, it's one of the brightest spots of the show

most likely this the untamed edit from 2020. i was truly living my peak back then :'D tbh i feel like the whole of tumblr was living its peak when the untamed was airing and when we all lost it together for the longest time after

but i want to say that monica @stormyoceans is very important to me these days. she brightens up my days and makes my whole fandom experience so much better by simply being her enthusiastic and authentic self ♥ never change!

and also jessi @oswlld who i still cannot believe is someone i can call my friend and bestie on this site. i am so happy we've gotten to share bad buddy, vice versa, and last twilight together! also happy to hear about your life at times and to just share silly things with you ♥

third one i want to mention is shannen @icouldhyperfixatehim who always manages to stand out in a positive way. we don't interact much but i cannot help but feel very giddy about their presence on my dash. they leave the best tags and every time they reblog any of my edits with their tags, they manage to make me feel like i've made it and my edit was worth the effort :'D so thank you!

Also sometimes i don't read people's pinned posts and generally just reblog because that's sorta like a secondary more useful like button to me (this has resulted in BAD consequences..)

i also had a bit of a tier list showing my opinions on the regret characters but that's kinda outdated and may not be fully reliable on my actual opinions on those characters however you should know that Wallter is.. According to my moots and other people... My comfort character, My favorite character and my "fictional crush" currently. He sorta means a bunch to me rn so don't potray them as an abuser or rapist.. Please. If you violate these boundaries then i may not hesitate to block you.

1. why did you choose your url?

i love khaotung. khaotung was obsessed with the capybara song last year before i even knew who he was. capybaras happen to be a very common animal in the region i live. i was very happy they were getting the recognition they deserved. put them together, we have lovely khao + capybaras = khaopybara (i'm also super sure i've seen people here and on tw use this and i just stole it. i'm not creative especially when it comes to usernames).

2. any sideblogs? if you have them name them and why you have them.

i have two other sideblogs. @tuseryoo for all of the gifs i make so i can have all of them in one blog just because, so i feel like i'm not losing track of the things i create (even though i haven't updated that one in a while), and @captain-xandis that some moots might have noticed in their notifications bc i recently created that one to post gifs about critical role, but i always forget to check which blog appears on top of the thingy, so i'm constantly deleting and reblogging things in the right blog these days.

3. how long have you been on tumblr?

as of july 3rd, i've been here for 11 years now, so since 2013? which tracks with my super strong k-pop phase tbh.

nah, i have a queue going for gifs that are requests or for episodes that already aired, but usually i just post things whenever.

ha, i was into super junior. and i was experimenting with fandom for the first time at the time. that's it. i felt like tumblr was a lot more creative and pretty than twitter or facebook, so i stayed.

i am a mook defender and apologist. i also think aya is super cute and super pretty. i change icons so often though, i blame all the pretty women in qls these days for making me change it all the time.

i am breathing and living for the heart killers and kantbison and unfortunately i'm dying from lack of content. the tattoo table kiss is going to change lives i think, so until we don't get the official version, i'll have this masterpiece displayed there somehow.

Oh boy, a refugee, welcome to the hellsite!

Here are my tips. The first tip? You can put long posts under a cut so they don't clog up everybody's dash when they're scrolling! Click read more to see the rest of the advice!

1) Follow as many people as you can. There is no algorithm here. Stuff you see on the "for you" page and the "following" pages are entirely based on blogs you follow. Someone has cute cats and you wanna see more of their cats? Great. Follow them. Someone makes a fanart you enjoy? Follow them. Somebody made a shitpost that had you snorting water out your nose? You guessed it: follow them.

2) Also follow tags. If you are into a fandom, follow that fandom's tag. If you like a specific character, follow the character tag.

3) For the love of god, reblog posts. Likes don't do jackshit. The like button simply means "hi, I saw your post." It does not spread it around tumblr. Reblogs, on the other hand, will spread it to people who follow you and people who follow the tags you use in the reblogs.

4) Notice how many times I've said shit so far? Yeah, like other people said in the notes, we don't censor things here. ESPECIALLY not in tags, because people who DON'T wanna see that content will block the uncensored tag. But tumblr is a place where you can say things like "Elon Musk is a punk-ass little bitch, I hope he gets fucking killed," and nobody can stop you. If they don't wanna hear it, they'll just block you and move on with their lives.

5) Tumblr is a website that mostly runs on fandoms. If you want to talk to people, post and reblog fanart, headcanons, fanfiction, fandom discussion, and other fandom related posts. It doesn't have to be good, it just has to be something you're having fun with.

6) This website is full of people with empty askboxes who are DYING to get asked questions. Use that "ask me anything" button or the little ask in the corner to send people asks!

7) Do not come here looking for fame. Being tumblr famous mostly just gets people sending you anonymous hate and being featured in a couple of YouTube videos. Tumblr is a bunch of gay clowns screaming into the void about their hyperfixations, and occasionally crashing into each other about it. No such thing as being a Tumblr Influencer. Most posts average at 2-10 notes and 1 reblog. Your follower count can't be seen by other people and doesn't matter. Just have fun screaming into the void.

8) Tags can be anything you want. Most tags exist so you can organize posts. So, for example, if I made a digital drawing of Batman, I would tag that post with #batman, #dc, #bruce wayne, #fanart, #batman fanart, #dc fanart, #digital art, #dc comics, and other similar tags. You can use as many or as few as you have the energy for.

But, a lot of people will also use tags to organize their own blogs. For example, I would also add the tag #my art onto this hypothetical batman post, because that's the tag I use for all my drawings to make them easy to find. Some people also have tags like #Abby is Batshit Insane, for when they specifically do Batman related stuff. It's a tag they can use to organize their own blog without spamming the main tag for people casually scrolling.

Tags are also frequently used to ramble about stuff that you don't want clogging the main body of the post. Other things that often end up in my tags are stuff like #I don't wanna talk about how long the shading took me, #why am I losing my mind over this stupid little guy, #fuck the new 52 I hate his outfit over there, etc.

9) The search bar doesn't do shit. If you're looking for a specific post, you're genuinely better off googling it. The search bar is really only helpful for searching specific tumblr users or for searching for tags.

10) You don't have to post everything right away!Click the skewer button next to the post button to bring up a list of options. You can save it to your drafts (which you can access via the settings button on your blog), schedule it for later, or chuck it in your queue, which automatically spaces out your posts and posts them in the order you want. Most people will tag stuff they chuck in their queue with things like "please and thank queue," "to the queue with you," "barbequeue," or other such things for blog organization.

11) Finally, here's a bit of a navigation guide to the mobile app (which is the version I use), because the buttons are confusing.

When you open the app, it will look like this:

You'll have those three buttons at the top. Most tumblr users prefer to use the "following" page instead of the "for you" page, so they will change it to be the first thing they see. To do this, click that little slider icon next to "your tags"

This will come up. Pin "following," as I have done here to make that the first thing that comes up when you open tumblr.

To follow tags, click on the "your tags" button, and you'll see this:

Next, click manage, and you'll see the list of tags you follow. Click the plus in the corner to add more.

When you are on your own blog, you can use the following page to just relentlessly scroll through the blog of everyone you follow if you so choose. I do this all the time, it's great. I also highly recommend pushing that "settings" button on the corner, and pushing every button until you've got an idea of how everything works! The only really unintuitive thing is featured tags!

Remember how I said you can add tags to organize your own blog? You can make those tags accessible by clicking settings, featured tags, and then adding as many as you want.

i love you for all you do for the jedi discourse

I've been thinking about this lately, the fraught tension of the discourse around the Jedi, how contentious it can sometimes get, how I know I'm not always the most patient I could be, and sometimes I regret that. But other times I don't. Because there are times I feel like I'm screaming into the void about how, every single day, there is some new bad faith response on one of my posts, some new unsettlingly "hyper invested in a stranger on the internet's opinions about made up space wizards" comment in the tags I browse, and that I'm just really exhausted at feeling like it's always up to Jedi fans to be saints, but if we show the slightest bit of snapping at yet another person putting a bad faith take on our posts, oh, we just ~can't handle anyone not babying our faves~. And honestly I don't know where to go from here, because I do enjoy good faith discussion, but I'm also just so worn out of five years of this, never knowing when someone is being reasonable or when they're going to blow up on me, never knowing when a comment is serious or a joke, the lack of structure of discussions, are we talking on a Doylist level or a Watsonian one?, etc. Five years of playing defense against people coming into the space I've created for myself, I don't know how much I can really even contribute to the discourse anymore, because it's just been so many times piled on so many times that this has happened. And the majority of the time they're pretty mild, but after a certain point you're just tired of having the same thing thrown at you, so you play defense and try to cut things off at the pass, try to predict the nonsense comments you're going to get, and that becomes woven into your meta, rather than being able to relax and just talk about what you want in the way you want. I'm not upset about this so much as just kind of navel-gazing and I do kind of loathe some of the behavior of fandom, as well as I wanted to talk about why some of us may seem pretty prickly and I hope that I can project that, yeah, I have my scraped raw nerve points in some places, but that I'm working to let go of it, and if you wonder why I've checked out from a lot of these conversations, that's why. There's little to be gained by it, I've thought about these topics for five years, I've given it all a ton of critical thought, and I'm settled where I'm settled. I'm exhausted, so I'm just going to be over here, in my own corner, trying to turn back to the things I love talking about, because that's the kind of corner of fandom I want. That seems like such a downer answer for a sweet ask, apologies! I’m just annoyed at fandom today (what else is new) and wanted to go, you know, there’s a reason some of us seem like we’re in a bad mood at times. That said, the kind comments are appreciated and I will endeavor to get back to being more fun about Star Wars and the psychic space wizards even more than I already am. (To be fair, I shitpost a good amount, too, okay. XD)

More About Burnout, Setting Boundaries, And Taking Care Of Yourself

My roommate has just posted about being burnt out with Submas because of the angst and I’ve mentioned burnout several times regarding myself.

I shouldn’t have to say this but this post isn’t saying “don’t make angst”. Do not put words in my mouth, attempt to argue with me about things I haven’t said, and definitely do not send me hostile messages. I won’t respond and I will just block you.

If anything I say here touches a nerve with you, you probably want to examine why you think people are not allowed to set boundaries with the content they want to see and the people they want to interact with and how.

First Of All, Angst Burnout

More and more people are now burnt out on Submas and PLA because of the angst content. Recently people have been discussing using further tags to make it easier for people to block things they don’t want to see. This is possibly a solution, however it can’t be expected that everyone will use the tags, or all the same tags. People also have varying opinions on what would require a tag, so one person may not tag content thinking it’s OK while someone else may come across it and not wish to see it.

The fact is, not everyone is a fan of something in the same way. Some people here don’t even consider themselves part of the Submas fandom or wish to engage the way fandoms tend to engage on tumblr (myself included). Some people love angst just because, while others love it and use it to cope with things. That’s fine.

Other people use things they like as an escape from stresses and struggles, and are drawn to things that are just fluff, slice of life, shitposting, or even angst that resolves happily in the end.

Some people like all of these things.

Ultimately, all types of fans can coexist on a site. It shouldn’t be a problem.

I feel like the issue here is the entire tone of Submas content was changed overnight, and people who had been here prior to PLA found themselves suddenly surrounded by new content that often disregarded what Submas had been and meant to people before then. Prior to PLA when browsing the tags, there wasn’t very much at all. There was a brief uptick in content when they were added to PokeMas. But then PLA came out and the whole tone changed from “Here’s two train guys doing their thing” to “How sad can we make the train guys?”, “What if Ingo dies in Hisui?”, “Can we make Emmet angsty and unhinged?”

Not to mention there are also new Submas fans since PLA, who have come to enjoy Ingo and Emmet outside of the context of PLA, and are burned out by the angst content because they want a happy ending.

It’s bad enough when Gamefreak has been silent about how and why Ingo got to Hisui, and if he goes back. The game itself hasn’t even properly concluded as of the time I’m typing this; even the main storyline is left hanging. This was enough to upset fans as it is, and is part of why I make so many reassurance posts.

So imagine a game series you enjoy does this to a previously fairly obscure character you like, and you want reassurance that they’ll be fine in the end and maybe some wholesome content to balance out the uncertainty and just...sad feeling the game itself is giving you. But now because of the game, the characters’ popularity has exploded, primarily with people who want to make angst content. You go to your usual places seeking reassuring, light-hearted, and wholesome content, and instead you find people who want your favorite characters to be miserable, permanently separated, or even draw or write content where one of them dies. And it’s not just a handful of posts; it’s nearly all of the content, all of the time.

That’s going to make you feel worse, really. And it’s easy to start feeling hopeless that the game developers will write a happy ending when a majority of what you see from other fans seems to expect, or even demand the worst possible outcome.

And it especially feels bad if you also like the characters because they were helping you cope with other things, or had become “comfort characters” (not terribly sure what this means, sorry), or if you saw yourself in them (as so many autistic people have seen themselves in Ingo and Emmet).

You can block tags and people, but because there’s just so much, it’s safer to just not go in the tags. But this isn’t a perfect solution either. Some sites will force posts from people you aren’t following into your feed as advertising who to follow, which means coming across the content anyway with no way to opt out of forced posts (without extensions anyway). At most you can just block the person who posted it so they won’t be recommended again. Which, all of this in turn means all but dropping an interest that once brought you joy.

Other Reasons For Burnout

Burnout isn’t limited only to people who don’t wish to see or engage with angst content. Personally I’ve found myself not only burnt out by the angst, but by people panicking and by my own choice of making reassurance posts.

There’s been a lot of panic among Submas fans. First it was Ingo’s inclusion in PLA in late January. Then the PLA Guide Book came out in mid-April with concept art for Ingo that caused people to panic. As of the time of this post. Gamefreak has yet to say whether or not the concept art made the final cut, that is, it may not be canon! Yet...so many people have taken it as canon, whether it was ideas they liked or not, fit into their fan works or not...Then throw in the panic over whether or not Ingo still has a full head of hair or is “bald” which...isn’t the correct word for it. His hairline has receded in the concept art--he still has hair so he’s not actually “bald”. He can be described as “balding” in this case.

This panic can wear people out when it’s all they’re seeing in the tags, or their own feeds, and especially in this case, where new information seemed to suggest the canon situation was worse than first thought. I only found out about it myself because I had a post about it from someone I don’t follow pushed into my feed. I decided to look into it further and create some reassurance posts since everyone was panicking and deciding something not confirmed was canon and that Ingo was not going back...but that got exhausting. I had to keep up with things I usually avoid. I ended up feeling burnt out and anxious.

Other times reassurance posts burn me out because of the amount of time and effort they make--I can’t sit and play PLA all day looking for info, nor spend all day throwing together evidence suggesting Ingo will go home, hasn’t been in Hisui for over a decade, etc. The writing takes time too. I want to make sure I’m clear, have researched anything I might not know about the games, doubled checked what I do know, covered everything making sure there’s no obvious errors or glaring evidence to the contrary...and, well, sometimes it gets to be a lot, and I end up having to step back from what I’m doing for a while. I haven’t played PLA in over a month because of how much it was burning me out to comb through a game that made me feel empty at the end for potential evidence, besides the fact that I’d finished everything except for the rematches.

Some people too, are burned out by the amount of interaction or messages they receive. Whether the person is being asked about reassurance, or Submas facts, headcanons, or even just someone being messaged about their fan works (yes, including angst!), it can get tiring for people to constantly have something to answer. Even people who are more extroverted will eventually reach a point where it’s too much.

There are also other reasons not mentioned here. I have only covered what I have personally seen or experienced.

What Happens Now?

As I stated before, people are talking more and more about having more tags for angst content so people can block what they don’t want to see, filter what kind of angst they would like to see, etc. Personally, I think this is a good start. It’s not perfect, but it can help.

What is not a solution, is for people to stop making angst. Just as people are allowed to not like it and create other content, people who like angst are allowed to like and create it. I hope that nobody’s takeaway from people posting about burnout from the angst is that they need to stop making content they enjoy.

As for other things causing burnout, I think it’s important to set boundaries as self-care. You can curate your experiences on this site to see content you want to see (I know people who have not been here long and/or have come from other sites often don’t understand there isn’t a true algorithm here and you have to actively seek content you want vs expecting constant recommendations). You can block tags and even people and it will work relatively well. You can add extensions to further hide things you don’t wish to see, including ads. (Bye bye to those shaving ads! You know the ones.) The high amount of angst content means filtering will not be perfect, but you’re allowed to filter and shouldn’t feel bad for doing so.

I still use the tumblr savior extension. This allows you to blacklist certain words you don’t want to see posts containing and whitelist words you always want to see. It’s really useful if people DON’T tag as well, but only works if they have text in the post, not the image, containing the blacklisted word. For example, let’s say you don’t want to see an AU where Ingo died and is a ghost, but it’s all over your feed and you don’t want to block other people you follow, but some of them aren’t tagging for whatever reason. You can block any words specific to that AU so chances of seeing it are much lower. But let’s say you blocked “Ingo” and “Ghost”, but you’re following someone who frequently posts art you’re OK with of Ingo and his Chandelure and now you’re not seeing it because their posts usually contain those words? Thats’s where whitelisting comes in. You whitelist their URL and their posts will be back, while still filtering the ones you don’t want. Tumblr savior is also good if you just want a warning before seeing things. Posts show up with the content blocked and telling you what words you had blacklisted, with an option to show the post. So if you need to prepare before seeing something, your willingness to see it varies and you want to be able to choose when you see it, etc, tumblr savior gives you the option of doing that.

You can turn off asks if you’re getting too many, or set a limit of how many you will answer a day. You can even choose not to answer something. And you can absolutely not answer and block someone who sends you something nasty, or unwanted content. You DO have the option of blocking anons so they can’t send you more, and turning off anon is usually a good way to get people to stop.

If you notice yourself feeling burned out, it’s OK to take a step back and set boundaries. You don’t have to constantly create content or engage with people. It’s also OK if you have to take a break from Submas as a whole, or even start filtering content when previously you did not.

You get to choose how you experience being a fan of something. The fandom’s interpretation or tone does not decide for you, whether you consider yourself in the fandom or not.

Take care of yourself.

Oh I LOVE that you asked me this :’) Thank you!

I honestly have so many if I really think about it because I love them so much and I think about their dynamic so much that I have so many favorite things... but here is what I think of off the top of my head:

• Steve was color blind before the serum, according to canon. I have a headcanon that Bucky used to try to describe colors to him. I wrote a mini fic about that here.

• Bucky was drafted for the war, but didn’t tell Steve. Steve sort of assumed that Bucky enlisted, and Bucky never wanted to correct him. How could he? Steve wanted to enlist so badly, and Bucky didn’t ever feel like he could admit that he didn’t have the same drive to want to ~fight for the country~ like Steve did. He didn’t want to disappoint him and he was afraid Steve would think he was a coward. So Bucky just... never told him that he was forced into war. It was never his choice to fight for the country. If it was up to him, they would’ve stayed home together and stayed safe and never fought at all.

• They were always physically rough with each other, in the sense that they'd wrestle as boys all the time, and Steve loved that Bucky never treated him as fragile. Buck knew he could take it. Even after the serum, they'd still scuffle a bit like kids, finding a bright spot in a war-torn world. They’d be awake in the trenches on lookout, having soft conversations in the night, and shoving each other after one says something stupid or makes a bad joke.

• Steve is bi, and Bucky is gay. Bucky was consciously aware of his feelings for Steve way, way before Steve was aware of his for Bucky. In the 30s, Bucky has a bit of a reputation for ~dating around,~ but not in a rude ladies’ man kind of way but rather his reputation is “Bucky Barnes is a real charmer. He’ll show you a good time and he’s really sweet, but he never pushes your boundaries.” Some women wishes he’d push their boundaries, but he doesn’t. He’s taken so many women out on dates because he never lets it get super serious, since they’re not who he wants and it’s mostly for appearances’ sake, especially since he and Steve live together. He definitely enjoys hanging out with women, and treating them nice, but most of the time his motivation is to try to set up double dates–half because Steve deserves to find a great girl to date, and half because a double date means Bucky can selfishly do a date activity “with” Steve and not have it mean anything. Meanwhile though, Steve gets jealous as hell and testy about Bucky dating all the time, but he’s oblivious to the fact that it’s because Steve wishes Bucky would be with him instead.

• Their first kiss was when Steve was 16 and Bucky was 17. I’m not necessarily saying that’s when they actually got together, but something significant happened between them at those ages... maybe they kissed because they were drunk, or it was so Steve’s “first kiss” would be someone he knew and it was for “practice.” And then they both never talked about it again, because they’re idiots and were afraid to ~ruin things~ between each other. That’s why Steve says “Rumlow said ‘Bucky’ and all of a sudden I was a 16-year-old kid again, in Brooklyn.” That’s why “seventeen” is one of Bucky’s trigger words as the Winter Soldier. It checks out, because Bucky is a little bit older than Steve.

• Steve doesn’t fully admit the depth of his own feelings for Bucky to himself until he finds out Bucky’s been captured by HYDRA. And then he tears Europe apart to get him back. He’d have done that anyway, obviously, but... the prospect of losing Bucky forever is really what makes him realize how much he can’t handle that concept. Because he’s in love with him.

• After Bucky “dies,” Steve gets more reckless, and that’s part of the reason he put the plane in the ice and didn’t try to survive: he didn’t want to live in a world without Bucky in it. This is supported by canon. And so I headcanon that, after Steve finds out about the Winter Soldier, one day he abruptly realizes that he could’ve died in that plane crash and never known Bucky was alive and brainwashed and suffering. He thought Bucky was dead and he wanted to follow him, and he could’ve left Bucky even more alone in the world without knowing it. When Steve realizes how close he came to leaving Bucky behind like that, he throws up. It horrifies him to think about it.

• They each have a pair of dog tags where one says “Steve Rogers” and one says “Bucky Barnes.” They swapped one tag each, so that they’d have a matching set, because while they couldn’t list each other as “next of kin,” they wanted tangible evidence that would show other people how important they are to each other. So people would know: tell him if something happens to me.

• Their Brooklyn accents come out / get heavier around each other, especially if they’re bitching about things or arguing.

• Bucky is a complete sci-fi and fantasy nerd–which is now confirmed canon, and I love it. In particular, I like to headcanon that he loves to read paperback sci-fi novels, and discount romance novels. He unironically enjoys them, and he leaves them allllll over the place. One of the things they love to do is Bucky will sit around and read while Steve will sit around and draw/paint, and half the time Steve gets distracted sketching Bucky’s facial expression he makes while he’s reading.

• Bucky is also a pop culture gremlin. He will try and often get interested in pretty much anything and everything, without rhyme or reason. In modern day, he and Nat will watch trashy reality TV together–sometimes to make fun of it, sometimes to get invested. Steve thinks they’re insane for that. And sometimes Bucky will like one niche thing but then for very specific reasons he dislikes another similar thing. It makes sense to him, even if Steve doesn’t get it.

• Steve tends to be pickier with the kind of stuff he enjoys. He’s always had Strong Opinions™️ on everything, including and especially art. Put him in a museum and he’ll have a lot of thoughts on all of it. He doesn’t judge things or hate on other people for liking things he doesn’t like at all, but he won’t get hooked on a movie/show quite as easily. The one exception is animation, which he absolutely adores, and he goes on a wild binge of all kinds of animated content for awhile–shows and movies–because the various art styles and uses of the medium to tell crazy stories just fascinates him.

• Easy access to so much music is one of their mutual favorite things about the 21st century. Bucky often gets into individual artists’ entire discographies and becomes a fan, whereas Steve often gets into a handful of specific songs from a wide range of various people. Like... Bucky will often love an entire album, and Steve will often love 2 songs specifically more than others. But even with that, Steve loves collecting vinyl records–both old and new ones.

• Bucky has a fantastic singing voice even though he’s shy about it, and he tends to hum along to music when distracted or working on something else–especially while making something in the kitchen.

• Bucky likes technology more than Steve; Steve likes physical stuff more than Bucky. Bucky loves to take photos and videos of things all the time, hoarding digital memories in a way that’s precious to him, knowing that they’re “safe” and accessible anywhere. They lost so much of the objects that they loved a century ago, and photos were scarce, but now... there are endless ways to have pictures. When Bucky was recovering in Wakanda and Steve was on the run, Bucky would often text Steve photos–sometimes without captions–to wordlessly share bits of his days with him. He’s got a good eye for photography, except for when he takes the photo equivalent of shitposts to make Steve laugh. Regardless, Steve gets his favorites printed–some of Bucky’s photos, some of his, some of their selfies–so they also always have something tangible to hold onto.

• Bucky calls Steve “sweetheart” sometimes, just to be a little shit–and he means it. It makes Steve turn red every time, without fail, but he secretly doesn’t mind it.

Okay I’ll stop hahaha. Those are the main ones that come to mind for me all the time when I think of them!

My Personal Spencer Reid Headcanons

Part 1/?

The only things he knows how to cook before meeting you are Ramen and Box Mac and Cheese (and even then he still isn't very good at it)

He memorizes all of your clothing sizes so he can just tell people right off the bat for gift-giving purposes (or for him to get you things *wink wonk*) instead of having to ask you first

He genuinely enjoys hearing you talk, so he’ll ask questions that trigger info-dump sessions on purpose just to hear you ramble on about whatever hyper-fixation he asked you about, because you always do the same thing for him

He is ENDLESSLY fascinated by makeup, so if you’re the type of person who wears/knows how to do makeup, he will sit and just watch you do your makeup, occasionally asking what a product is for or what techniques you’re using

The books on his bookshelf are organized via the Dewey Decimal System, and you buy him a label maker for that express purpose so he can label the space on the shelf instead of having to put a bulky lamination on all of his books

Despite never wearing matching socks, all of his socks are organized by color (you helped him get divided drawer inserts for that)

He does not know and cannot for the life of him figure out how to play Snaps, Black Magic, or any of those other weird mind-numbing camp games, which you always laugh at him for whether you know how to play them or not

He can successfully fold a fitted sheet because his arms are so long, and it endlessly pisses off everybody

He still doesn't know how to use chopsticks

He dotes upon you whenever it's your time of the month, because he hates it when you don't feel good and he wants to help you feel better

Even though he tries his best to avoid germs, when he does get sick, he's the biggest man-baby imaginable and you have to drop everything to take care of him (even though you'd do that if he WASN'T a man-baby)

You somehow convince him to read Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, The Maze Runner, The Hunger Games, and all those other fantasy/dystopian fiction novels for kids and young adults, and even though he tries to act all cool and say they weren't as good as Chaucer or Vonnegut, he actually really enjoyed them

He sucks at remembering to drink water, so you have to get him an obnoxiously neon colored water bottle so he'll remember to use it

The only form of exercise he can do well and for a prolonged period of time is sit-ups, so he has pretty decent abs

He had no idea how to properly care for his wild curls until you came along and helped him research how to do it best

He likes podcasts, specifically ones about books, movies, and tv shows, but he does have a select few true crime podcasts that he likes to listen to, even though he's very familiar with most of the cases they discuss

He only gets an iPhone so he can receive pictures and videos of his godsons from JJ and Derek, and eventually so you can send him pictures and videos of your sons and/or daughters (also for certain word and math puzzle games that you download for him when he first gets it)

He really likes the home organizing shows they have on Netflix, and once you came home to find him Marie Kondo-ing the entire apartment

My Personal Matt Murdock Headcanons

Part 1/?

(And yes. I have discussed a handful of these with my beloved moot @leossmoonn before)

Due to his enhanced senses, he knows the perfect time to flip a pancake, never burns anything, always makes the most perfect toast, and he always kills flies on the first try

As much as he pretends to hate it because it’s kinda blasphemous, one of his favorite songs is Take Me To Church by Hozier. He also really likes Devil’s Advocate by The Neighborhood and (don’t tell anybody) Paper Rings by Taylor Swift

He’s really good with kids. Like, unnaturally good. Like, you’ll walk into a room and see him regaling your nephews with stories of Battlin’ Jack Murdock, or all of your nieces doing their best to put his hair in ponytails or “forcing” him to sing Disney songs with them (and melting when he actually gets really into it)

The most chivalrous little shit on earth. Always opening doors for you, pulling your chair out for you when you go out to eat, helping you out of taxis, kissing the back of your hand, shit like that. Simply because he loves hearing the heat rush to your cheeks

He’s annoyingly good at hide and seek, at least from a seeking standpoint because of his super weirdness. He can’t hide worth a damn, because he’s almost six feet tall and not that flexible, so he ends up trying to hide behind the big plant in your living room and you can just barely see the tiniest bit of his fluffy hair peeking out over the top of it

He’s a complete pansy when it comes to spicy food or strong flavors. The only spicy things he can kind of handle are Hot Cheetos or Takis, and even after those he has to chug like half a gallon of milk

He’s surprisingly good with animals. Like, say you’re at a petting zoo for a younger relative’s birthday party. You’ll end up finding him in some obscure corner of the animal pen with a baby goat fast asleep in his arms. Or if you’re at a family member’s house for a holiday and they happen to have a dog or a cat, you can bet the second he sits down that animal is going to make themselves at home on his lap or around his shoulders. It’s even funnier if the dog that picks him as their dog bed is huge, like you just walk into the living room to find him being borderline smothered by a very self-satisfied fully grown Great Pyrenees

His favorite times of year are the beginning of spring when all the flowers and trees are blooming, and the holidays because of all the yummy baked treats you’re constantly making that make the whole apartment smell like a real deal bakery

He can’t bring himself to go within 50 feet of a Bath and Bodywork’s or a Yankee Candle because of all the competing robust aromas, so he’ll just tell you what candle or bath product he’d like, because he physically can’t go near either of those stores without getting a wicked headache

After a particularly rough night out on patrol, you’ll most likely find him on the couch cocooned inside a weighted blanket with his expensive noise cancelling headphones over his ears, because sometimes the only way he can get calm enough to meditate is if he can’t hear anything and he doesn’t have any outside stimulation

He loves audio books, especially the ones where the narrator uses different voices to distinguish what character is speaking. Knowing this, you buy him the Harry Potter audiobooks, and it’s safe to say they quickly become his favorite because Stephen Fry is the MVP of character voices

Because his senses are so refined, you, Foggy, and Karen come up with a game where you give him five of the same thing but from different places or brands (like four black coffees from four different coffee joints and one homemade or five pints of vanilla ice cream from five different brands) to see if he can tell the difference between them. Annoyingly enough, he can, and it pisses you guys off to no end

He memorizes the heartbeats and walking patterns of the people he cares about (aka you, Foggy, and Karen), so he can pick you guys out of a crowd of thousands and instantly tell when there’s something wrong be it your heart rate is slightly irregular, your walking pace is accelerated, or god forbid you have a slight limp

Much like Anakin Skywalker, he can’t really handle the texture of sand (of course you quote that one scene whenever he mentions it just to mess with him), so he’s not the biggest fan of the beach. Then one year for a vacation you take him to your relative’s condo in Coquina Beach, Florida, and the second he feels how soft the sand is, he changes his mind about beaches, and you two decide to try and find the beach with the softest sand in the world

He loves it when you wear his clothes, especially his old Columbia sweatshirts or tees. Once when he came home, you were wearing one of his white work button ups and no pants, and he just about lost his remaining five marbles

He unironically loves VeggieTales, especially the Silly Songs with Larry. You’ve caught him humming “Oh Where is My Hairbrush?” to himself while he’s getting ready for work too many times for it to be a coincidence

He has a really good singing voice, but he only ever busts it out at a karaoke bar after a few too many whiskeys, and yet he still sounds coherent when you drunkenly usher him onto the stage. Once he sang “Hold Me While You Wait” by Lewis Capaldi, and the entire female population within the bar (and a couple of dudes, tbh) basically melted into the floor, because he has no business having the voice of an angel when he’s drunk off his ass

He likes going to museums with you that specialize in your niche interests just to hear you infodump to him about the stuff you already know and the new stuff you learn while you’re there, because he loves listening to your voice in any context

(A Spencer Reid Fic)

Pairing: Spencer Reid x Platonic-ish Fem!Reader

Summary: Reader decides to clean the apartment, but she finds something of Spencer's that she was never supposed to see

Genre: Pretty angsty right in the middle, but it gets sweet and fluffy at the end, I promise

Warnings: Swearing, mentions of Spencer's no-no juice arc, mentions of the circumstances that CAUSED said no-no juice arc, crying, general ouchies.

A/N: This is for @imagining-in-the-margins' Roommate Challenge. I apologize in advance for any pain this may cause. And this is post-finale, but Reader doesn't meet Spencer until around the middle of Season 13, so she isn't fully aware of all the crap our favorite boi went through

When Y/N set out on her spring cleaning mission, she was not expecting it to end in tears. Well, she usually doesn't expect anything to end in tears, but especially not tidying up her shared apartment with her best friend.

Y/N is the owner of a very small and homey second-hand bookstore that just so happened to be Spencer Reid's very favorite place to go when he needed to de-stress after a rough day at work. One day while he was in about two and a half years ago, she helped him find a book he was looking for, they struck up a conversation, and they've been friends ever since.

About 6 months ago, Y/N's apartment building got condemned for a multitude of health and safety violations, and she didn't have anywhere else to go because all the apartments available for rent were too far away from her shop. She vented all of her frustrations to Spencer when he came into the shop that day, and he very generously offered to let her live with him in his apartment.

Anyways, Spencer was off at Quantico for what he assured her was only going to be a cut-and-dry paperwork day, so she decided to get some cleaning done, because between him being an avid reader, her making a living collecting and selling second-hand books, and both of them working so much, the apartment was starting to resemble a small post-apocalyptic library.

She reorganized the two large bookshelves (one for him and one for her), scrubbed the kitchen counters until they were spotless, emptied the fridge of any spoiled food, and wiped down all the surfaces in the bathroom. And she had to admit to herself that she did a pretty good job at making the apartment look habitable again.

Then Y/N started cleaning up the floors of her and Spencer's bedrooms so she could vacuum, and while she was picking up all of the mismatched socks strewn about in Spencer's room, she knelt down to make sure there wasn't anything under his bed, and she found a small wooden box with a clasp on it. She dumped all the socks into his hamper (while reminding herself to start on laundry later), then grabbed the box from under the bed to investigate.

She sat on the end of his bed, then undid the clasp and opened the box to find three small glass vials filled with clear liquid. Y/N's eyebrows furrowed, then she picked up one of the vials and turned it around to read the label. She almost dropped the box when she read the word "dilaudid" on the little sticker, and tears started coming to her eyes. Y/N knew that Spencer had been through a lot from when she first became friends with him, but she had no idea that he'd had these kind of issues, and that was probably on purpose on Spencer's part.

The front door opened, and she heard Spencer call out, "Y/N/N? I'm home!", so she used all of her resolve to contain more tears and slowly left his room while holding the little box. He hadn't noticed her come out of the room, and he continued hanging up his jacket while saying, "Hey, did you clean the apartment? It looks great! You know you didn't have to do that ri-...?", but he cut himself off when he saw Y/N standing in the living room with tear streaks on her face holding the object he hadn't even thought about in almost 3 years.

Spencer's face immediately fell, and he said, "You were never supposed to see that," which only made Y/N want to cry even more. She tried to fight it, but she broke down sobbing, and had to grab the back of the couch to stop herself from sinking onto the floor, because she knew that if she did, it would break Spencer's heart even more.

Spencer ran forward, gently took the box from her hands, then scooped her into his arms bridal style before carrying her to the couch and sat down with her. Y/N buried her face in his neck and cried harder than when her family had to send the dog they had since she was four across the Rainbow Bridge right before she graduated from high school, and Spencer could feel tears welling up in his eyes as well, because he'd never imagined seeing her this broken up over him.

After she had calmed down a little, she whispered, "Why didn't you tell me?", so he replied, "Because I didn't want you to see me as some fragile broken former addict. I just wanted you to see me as Spencer, the guy who nabs all the good books from your store before anyone else can get them, the guy who makes you watch Doctor Who with him all the time, the guy who teases you for not being able to handle Indian food, just... your Spence," his voice breaking at the very end.

Y/N looked up at him and said, "You'd still be my Spence if you had told me. Your past mistakes don't define the kind of person you are," before wiping her eyes and letting out a tiny sniffle. Spencer nodded and said, "It's a long story, but I know you won't judge me now, so... here goes nothing," with tears in his eyes.

He told her his whole story, about Tobias Hankle and his multiple personalities, about his kidnapping, about his struggle with substances, and about how ten years of sobriety were ripped from him when he was drugged and framed for murder in Mexico, and Y/N listened intently the whole time.

When he was finished, she asked, "And the box I found under your bed?", so he said, "I haven't even thought about it since before we met. I've been sober again for almost 3 years, and I'm not planning on giving that up again anytime soon, I swear," which made her smile before throwing her arms around him in a tight hug. He hugged her back, then kissed the top of her head before saying, "Thank you for being my friend," so she squeezed him even tighter and said, "Thank you for being mine," and they just stayed like that for a while.

Y/N said, "Wanna watch Doctor Who?", and he said, "I swear you can read minds sometimes," before grabbing the remote off the coffee table and going into HBO Max. Y/N snuggled into his side, and they watched the show peacefully for a few hours before falling asleep that way on the couch, more in sync than they ever have been before.

My Personal Eddie Munson Headcanons

Part 1/?

He always has you do his eyeliner before his shows with Coroded Coffin because he insists he’s terrible at it, but he really just likes how you sit on his lap and hold his face while you do it

This little shit is the biggest gentleman on the planet, and you wanna punch him in his stupid perfect face because of it. Always helps you step over puddles, always gives you his hand to get out of his van, and you haven’t opened a door for yourself when you’re with him since you first started dating

He tries to teach you how to play the electric guitar, but you’re horrendous at it. He has more luck with acoustic though, and when you get good enough to sing and play at the same time, he loses his shit because he taught you that and you’re amazing

This man is such a cuddle monster. Like, his 5’10” ass koalas around you the second you’re in bed or on the couch, and he buries his face in your neck to be as close to you as he possibly can (he’s only the littlest bit touch starved)

He has no idea how to react when you compliment him. He’s so used to being insulted and called awful names by all the douchebags at school, that when you brush hair away from his face and say “You have the prettiest eyes, Eddie”, he frickin melts like a popsicle on the 4th of July

He pretended to be annoyed by it at first, but now he openly loves it when you play with his hair and put braids in it and all that jazz

He loves it when you lay on his chest while he’s reading or sit on his lap while he’s writing out a new campaign for the Hellfire boys. He especially loves it when you ask him to read to you or offer up ideas about what bullshit to put the boys through at the next Hellfire meeting

He takes Will under his wing the second he meets him and makes him his Junior Dungeon Master. They combine forces and make the most elaborate campaign either of them have ever made based on their escapades with the Upside Down stuff. They even manage to get Max, Steve, Nancy, Robin, and Jonathan to design characters for it and play through it

He and the other Hellfire boys give you their old dice sets when they get all beat up and worn out so you can make crafts with them. Every member of Hellfire has a bracelet you made them with their respective dice sets, and they treasure everything you make them with every fiber of their beings

He’s really good at climbing trees. Like, you can blink and the dumbass is halfway to the top of the tree already. He says it’s because he likes to see the town from a different view point, but you know he just likes to show off

Metal may be his main wheelhouse, but he secretly loves Cyndi Lauper. You’ve caught him singing “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” in the shower on numerous occasions, but you never say anything about it

This man can’t keep his hands to himself worth any type of damn. He always has an arm around your waist or around your shoulders, always holding your hand, or he has his arms wrapped around your middle from behind while he presses kisses against your neck. He’s a leg man too, but y’all can jump to your own conclusions there

He taught himself how to knit once when he was stuck at home with chicken pox, and now you and the Hellfire boys have a collection of scarves, hats, and mittens he’s made for you, and they actually do a good job of keeping you warm in the winter months

He has a rock collection that he started way back in third grade, and everytime he finds a cool rock, he takes it home and puts it in a big Tupperware tub he nicked from the kitchen when he was little and first started his collection

He makes guitar pick necklaces from random abandoned picks he finds in the parking lot behind The Hideout, and he gives them to the people he cares about. So you have about 13 different ones, his uncle has a handful of them, and the Hellfire boys all have one or two

He begrudgingly allowed you to paint his nails black once, but then he realized he looked kinda cool, so now he always asks you to do them for him

He gave you one of his rings on a chain as a sort of promise ring situation because your fingers are too small to actually wear it

He secretly loves the movie Dirty Dancing, but nobody else besides you is allowed to know that, because he thinks it’s embarrassing. You think it’s cute though, and you always tell him “I’ll be the Baby to your Johnny any day, Eds”, which makes him blush

Get to know the blogger

I was tagged by @starknstarwars and so sorry that I’m just now getting around to this.

No pressure tags for: @dimigex @kunoichi-ume @jlsigman @chaosandwonder @rainofaugustsith and anyone else who would like to join in!

1. Why did you choose your url?

Cinlat was the name of a character that I created back in highschool, a side character with no real weight to the plot. After multiple attempts at clever names while joining swtor, I got annoyed and tossed her name in and it was accepted. Afterward, I used it for everything else because it’s always available. THEN she became a prominent character in my main fic mostly by accident.

2. Any sideblogs?

I have one dedicated solely to reblogging writing tips. It has 7 followers. That’s probably including me. Then I also run Reignbow’s blog because she still too young for social media, but her art is too good not to share. So if interested, you can find her @reignbow

3. How long have you been on tumblr?

*goes to ask @dimigex* She says 2016, so we’ll go with that since it’s her fault that I’m here.

4. Why did you originally start your blog?

Because Dimi dragged me here, kicking and screaming. But legit, she suggested that I share my writing projects with people other than just her, and that’s how Fynta blasted her way into the hearts of all of you fine people.

5. Why did you choose your icon?

Those boys are the two most important people in Fynta’s life, and I think @dingoat did an amazing job capturing each of their personalities. It’s such a pure and wholesome representation of my favorite people.

6. Why did you choose your header?

It’s funny that this question comes right after I changed it from the group portrait of Fynta and her family. I’ve been back into ffxiv for a while now, and while Isashi has been my main since 2015, I had to make a final fantasy version of Fynta because, well, it’s Fynta. Naturally, Fynta started adopting people the moment she set foot in Eorzea. She decided that Isashi needed to lighten up, which dragged Kirin into the group, and Lukos is mostly there unwillingly but has no where else to go. Thus, they are now The Gang, because Final Fynta said so. Anyway, I spend about two hours putting that shot together and it turned out too good not to share.

7. What is your post with the most notes?

I genuinely have no idea how to find this information. Feel free to teach me in the replies.

8. How many mutuals do you have?

This questionnaire has taken a turn towards math and I’m not sure how I feel about that.

9. How many followers do you have?

Okay, this one I know how to find. 422. Look at me knowing things.

10. How many blogs do you follow?

303...I legit thought it was more than that.

11. Have you ever made a shitpost?

Not intentionally.

12. How many times do you use tumblr a day?

Given that this is basically the only social media site that I visit....a lot....I’m not even sorry.

13. Have you ever fought another blog?

Nope.

14. How do you feel about “need to reblog” posts?

I am not great about reblogging, ngl. If it’s a close friend/mutual I’m more likely to. Or if it’s something I think my mutuals will find as amusing as I do. Otherwise I mostly just yell about my ocs/gaming/writing with my friends and then yell about theirs too. I very rarely, if ever, reblog political/religious stuff simply because that’s just not what I’m on this site for specifically.

15. Do you like tag games?

I definitely do, though I’m terrible about getting them done in a timely manner. But, thankfully, people keep tagging me. Thanks all!

16. Do you like ask games?

I definitely enjoy those too, with the same results as above.

17. Which of your mutuals do you think are tumblr famous?

That’s really tough, actually. I follow so many talented authors and artists. I’ve got to agree with @starknstarwars about @sleepswithvillains being one of them. Also @riajade01 thievinghippo, moonlitalien, thegarbagechute and @dingoat is starting to climb those ranks too. Just off the top of my head. (I’m not going to tag them all because I don’t actively talk with several and have no idea how they feel about random tagging, but you should absolutely check out their blogs.)

18. Do you have a crush on a mutual?

Nah, I’m too old for crushes. XD. I’ve made some genuine friendships though.

I’ll give some no pressure tags to @starknstarwars, @swtorpadawan, @sleepswithvillains, @a-master-procrastinator @palepinkycat and anyone else that sees this and wants to give it a go.

1. Why did you choose your url?

I wanted to make a Star Wars blog and I also wanted to show that I was a big fan of the old pre-mouse EU. So I took my favorite EU character, Tahiri Veila, and played around with her experiences to make my url. During the New Jedi Order book series, Tahiri was experimented on by Yuuzhan Vong and an artificial personality, Riina of Domain Kwaad, was created in her mind. I simply replaced the name Riina with my own internet handle Raven and got Raven of Domain Kwaad.

2. Any sideblogs?

This is technically a sideblog actually.

Main is @the-raven-of-highever which is mainly Dragon Age stuff

I also have @ssv-raven which is a mess of Mass Effect, sci-fi, fantasy and other assorted nonsense

3. How long have you been on tumblr?

I think it was 2014 when I first got onto tumblr

4. Why did you originally start your blog?

Originally I made my main for the Assassin’s Creed fandom. Oh boy was I obsessed with AC. Fell hard in love with the Kenway family and Ratonhnhaké:ton / Connor in particular. I was sad when the tumblr fandom just sort of fizzled away and died after being such a fun and big group that I really liked.

5. Why did you choose your icon?

@palepinkycat gave me that incredible piece of my OC Amarra Kine for my birthday and I was immediately head over heels in love with how it looked. I just had to make it my icon so I could always admire it.

6. Why did you choose your header?

That was another @palepinkycat piece actually and my very first commission. It is of my OC sisters Ryscha and Amarra Kine. They are the main focus of my SWTOR canon so I figured it was appropriate to put them up there as my header.

7. What is your post with the most notes?

This one which I made as a joke after the Echoes of Oblivion trailer came out. Just a silly bit about how Knights and Warriors must be very sick of the Emperor by that point.

8. How many mutuals do you have?

Not a clue. I know I have a number of SWTOR mutuals though

9. How many followers do you have?

115... now excuse me as I go and listen to the song of the same name from CoD Black Ops Zombies lol

10. How many blogs do you follow?

200 but a lot of those haven’t posted in years. Lots of old Assassin’s Creed, Overwatch and trans fem blogs that got lost or just stopped posting after the various fandoms died and the porn ban cracked down on people.

11. Have you ever made a shitpost?

Lol this is tumblr buddy. Of course I have

12. How many times do you use tumblr a day?

Uh... lots. Though in my defense it is my only form of social media. Never had a facebook, twitter or anything else and it is probably going to stay that way.

13. Have you ever fought another blog?

Nope. Is that a thing people do? It sounds exhausting.

14. How do you feel about “need to reblog” posts?

You know how after watching commercials you are filled with the desire to actively avoid the product being advertised? Yeah that is generally what happens to me with those “need to reblog” things. Like buddy I have come to tumblr to unplug from all the atrocities that are happening in the world. You telling me I need to focus on this makes me want to actively ignore it.

15. Do you like tag games?

I do! They are fun and I enjoy reading the answers that other people give.

16. Do you like ask games?

Definitely. I don’t always answer the asks in a timely manner but I do love writing about my OCs

17. Which of your mutuals do you think are tumblr famous?

Not a clue. Got some mutuals that seem to be well established and appreciated members of the SWTOR fandom but no one appears to be tumblr famous.

18. Do you have a crush on a mutual?

Funny story. My partner and I actually met because we were tumblr mutuals. We were both in the Mass Effect fandom and just started DMing each other about our OCs. Started playing Mass Effect 3 online matches together and eventually decided to try out a long distant relationship. It worked and we’ve been living together for five ish years now.

Don’t currently have any crushes on any mutuals but my partner and I are poly so who knows what may happen in the future lol
