Now I'm just imagining a modern AU Jaskier doing a side hustle of dropping of Amazon/Instacart packages where he has the address, but the note just says... "Leave package in horse." Cue the "Wtf", but proceeding to attempt delivery anyway. Gets to the address for Geralt's house/seeing his mailbox in the row of mail boxes and finding this.....

hello !! i hope you are well !! ive been curious about something for a tiny bit now, with works like Love Punch that you don’t have quite the same spark for, how does it feel immediately after uploading a chapter? is it like submitting homework? do you feel more energized or tired? do you wait for comments or just put everything down and go do something else?

I was just talking about this with a friend. I don't think uploading any piece of work feels like submitting homework. It's always exhilarating to put something out there that you've worked hard on. I think....it's not as fun to work on something that you don't have quite the same spark for, but the act of sharing it always going to be really fun for me. I know that my readers have to wait months between updates so the first flood of "I was so excited to read this after work!" or "I can't believe this updated!" comments is always so heartwarming. Just because I don't enjoy writing it as much as I used to, my initial feelings toward the reception of it is always going to be very positive.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a writer who isn't anxiously checking their in-box for new comments to see how someone receives something they've worked so hard on. That being said, I absolutely dread getting new comments on OLD chapters. I feel like the patience I had with bad takes or "update when?" (which was nearly non-existence already lol) now makes me occasionally considering comment locking it until it updates. I don't care what people have to say on them anymore unless what they have to say is interesting or thoughtful. I also mostly get the same "this was so good. update this immediately." and it drives me up the wall + makes me want to work on it less. Seriously. If you want someone to do the opposite of what you want, comment ‘update when’ and see what happens.

Here's the thing though - positive attention is a drug like nothing else. It doesn't matter where it comes from or how you get it, if I worked hard on something that I think is good and people are engaging with it I'm pretty happy no matter how much of a spark I have. The actual process of writing is significantly more difficult now that I have less interest (it is very hard to write a romance when you're like I don't know if these people should be together. actually - uh - ) and it does feel like the boulder I have chained myself to until I roll it up fourteen more hills but -

so my landlord is, to put it lightly, an idiot. his family owns a bunch of properties, and although they are 100yo houses, he does not understand (or is willfully careless of) the amount of upkeep they require. he cheaps out on a lot of shit. the downsides of this are that he doesn't do repairs unless i make it his problem, i don't have working ventilation nor windows (nor a fire alarm, actually!), his repair guys make carelesses messes of everything, and somehow he ALWAYS manages to time shit so it ruins my halloween plans. (the upsides are that he has only raised rent once in 10 years, i can do minor shit he won't notice, so long as i presumably don't dig up the yard or cut a tree down.)

cue him deciding this week he is repainting the property.

a huge hassle because he cleared out all of my outdoor stuff and they're not putting it back which means, once again, that i can't put up halloween decorations, and also my hummingbird feeder is going straight to the ants, and also i no longer have doormats. presumably my basil will die if it gets up in the 90s again.

anyway i walked outside after his painter did his daily 4 hours of work (have i mentioned his repair guys are kind of careless and incapable?) and the paint samples are ELECTRIC green.

praying to god he's as color-untrained as he is stupid because i am about to have A HOUSE THAT CAUSES PROBLEMS ON PURPOSE

favorite moment........ ummm well for one Everything With Aventurine KEDGHKFJNGKJGBFFJK i loved him. so so so so much. SO MUCH. dare i say one of the best characters i've encountered in a long while... like he's right up there with susie deltarune. they did such a good job with him and the entire initial penacony patch (2.0-2.1; 2.2 was still amazing despite aventurine not being there and i did really enjoy 2.3 even though things had started to Fall Off by then)

sunday's real boss fight was fucking BEAUTIFUL. i still get emotional while doing the echo of war every other week. idk penacony has really been hsr's shining star so far!!!! it's hard to pinpoint a favorite moment that didn't take place there... but yk it's a baby game and we only have so many planets and story arcs atm

as for what i'm looking forward to... cannot wait to see what exactly transpires to make sunday a new member of the astral express. i've been wanting a new AE member since serval's companion mission teased at it AND IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING... FUCK YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS also amphoreus looks like it's going to be really special. i haven't even touched hi3 (although i will be downloading it tonight and checking it out over the next little while in an attempt to at least familiarize myself with the origins of the flamechasers) and i can FEEL the love this writing team has for this specific universe and cast of characters. elysia/her hsr counterpart especially

i'm also really looking forward to the party car and stelle finally getting a room of her own on the express!!!!!!! that'll be fun. i like when things are added to the express i was having the time of my life with that damn hanu tv LMFAOOOOO

And then no...? I went in to this project and still have the mentality that it's supposed to be seen as an interjected episode/movie etc etc somewhere in the beginning of season 2, instead of an alternate universe.

If we want to get specific, it probably takes place at or around Lair Games, but no later.

Meaning I'm trying to keep everything as faithful to the canon as possible, while exploring the chaos that is Wanderer! Characters and events might reference future things from the show, but it's meant to be as a form of foreshadowing!

i have found a fic that is too similar with the whole plot of my fic curiosity. like i know it’s a general trope, but the setting, order of the scenes and some of the dialogues are literally the same. if that’s not copying, i don’t know what that is😐

tropes are not owned by anyone—different writers can write about the same trope and that’s perfectly okay, but if plot points, sequences and lines are the same then i still consider it as copying :’)

Luigi has respect for all creatures, great and small, but some of them certainly wig him out. Spiders being one of them. Big spiders in particular. Especially since he fought that massive one in LM2. Despite this, Luigi will always be the one to cup them and put them outside if they're in the house.

This has left my mind to quite a few interpretations. The one it likes the most is I like creating spontaneously! It gives restriction yet so much freedom. Random can absolutely have its regrets, it happens often, but it adds a little flare to it. I especially get burnt out easily, so doing the moment I feel is best for my ideas!

As for the other way I thought of this, I like creating in the way I feel in the mood for :3

One of the appealing things about that ship at least for me is that they both push each other's buttons and neither one wants to give the other the high ground... it's all about the rivalry ™ & the tension ™ It sort of irks me that so much of the content for this ship portrays isagi as so submissive/weak although he totally would not be?? like look at how he canonly treats kaiser... I'm honestly this close to writing a 100 000 kiis fanfic just cause there's not enough stuff that I think portrays their dynamic accurately. (actually, so much BL fan stuff tends to like. woobify isagi and make him look too... weak and submissive cute and sweet. but anyway. not to go on a tangent here.)

yes!! exactly !! ik isagi is a good boy and i love that for him but when it comes to kaiser he's legitimately pissed off at him and i like when that dynamic is kept bc that's also what i like about this ship ofc im not saying they have to be out to metaphorically murder each other all the time, making ship art etc means u soften that up a bit a lil and that's completely fine but i wouldnt say i love a weak isagi haha maybe he'd only be like that begrudgingly, after a lot of figurative fist fighting
