i hate interpreting "give me back my girlhood it was mine first" as being about just virginity mostly because it feels so much more meaningful if you allow yourself to interpret it as your younger self and the childhood innocence you had that got taken from you but also because i hate the idea of calling someone's virginity their "girlhood"
#crunchyposts#ts#wcs#am i crazy for thinking i dont want to call virginity “girlhood”#that feels Wrong#but also like as a lyric its so much better if you don't interpret it like that#like come on. you're gonna hear lyrics about being preyed on at a young age by an older man and regretting that it happened#lyrics that explicitly said “i miss who i used to be” and youre just gonna say that lines about virginity.#“i'd like to be my old self again but i'm still trying to find it” come on. have you ever felt the deep grief of a past version of yourself#that youll never get back. also im not fucking speculating on someone's virginity#this makes me so angry now that im writing all of this i have no idea why#maybe its bc im ace and i connect a lot with the song and the themes of grief and like the childhood innocence that connects so much to#the religious imagery of the song (INNOCENT. HELLO) and reducing it to just that makes me so. oh my god#anyways another post that falls into the category of “every time i think about wcs i write an essay”#literally just about 9 words lol

mistki's the land is inhospitable and so are we (2023)!! as edits featuring mine and some of my friends ocs 😁 had a lot of fun with this project... rough explainer of how/why each song corresponds to each character/s under the cut because i love symbolism and talking! sorry it is long
bug like an angel - sapphire
without spoiling too much of her story and arc... sapphire's life is not easy. she's hurt by people she cares for and who care for her, although inadvertently, and in turn hurts people who she cares for and who cared for her, also not by her own volition. it's kind of a terrible truth that you will harm and be harmed by the people you love, even when you and they truly don't want to. it's up to you how much you're willing to take and deal. you can't keep every promise you make and you can't right every wrong. but you have to keep trying anyway. that's sapphire's strength, and the core of her goodness and why i personally consider her one of my favourite ocs. i chose to depict bug like an angel in mitski's more positive interpretation here and in that light i think it works best for saph
buffalo replaced - heiya
well first and foremost the vibes of the song fits heiya perfectly fhgjk but also lyricism and tone... yep. quick breakdown of heiya's background since i doubt i'll ever be able to do it properly she's an interesting character for me because she like a lot of my other characters has lost. everything. she had a wife and a child and they were both killed and she had to leave her home again and again and unlike how some of my others would have taken this she has never flagged in her unwavering dedication to preserving hope. for herself for her people for the future etc etc. which is a very fucking difficult thing to do! the world changes faster than you can keep up with it sometimes but for heiya she will not let herself tire and be swept away in it all. people rely on her. she's a guiding star as much as she is a woman. she's a lover and a fighter and thats what buffalo replaced means to me! so
heaven - vinny and caleb
i feel like of all my oc couples so far they have like. the sweetest most kind of simply mutually trusting dare i say straight forward love. they just love each other so much and thats all. the world could end around them when theyre together and it'd be okay truly. also yeah vinny is ostensibly in heaven now bye angel i feel like this one was pretty self explanatory. me and who WHEN
i don't like my mind - sunny
he just like me fr (said in denji voice) anyways wow ha. unstoppable unending guilt due to past actions that haunt your every waking moment? throwing yourself into any and all distraction just to take your mind off it, filling your time with other shit so that past sin doesnt for once echo in your awful and hollow brain? this song is perfect for sunny honestly just that sentiment also the "please don't take this job from me".... sometimes the coping is worse. you can be proud of something because you can do it better than anyone else even if that thing is terrible
the deal - wolfgang munch by @gunthermunch
Wolfgang Amadeus Munch. umm this will make more sense later on but it still kind of makes sense now i think. he doesn't want to be himself he keeps . leaving and moving and running away from his own memories his own self in reaction to others. if he could pawn it all off he would. if he could be better in an instant without having to feel every agonising second of change he would! but thats not how the world works. or is it. read munch by gunthermunch thats an order
when memories snow - lilian
i feel the older you get the more your past kind of swells up and trails behind you... at least for lilian that is shes very linked to the different versions of the girl/young woman she used to be. for her its a double edged blade, a lot of her own strength is drawn from who she was and what happened to her throughout her life. they haunt her but she's haunting it back in her own way
my love mine all mine - saige, bellona, ari
stares you down okay so usage of this song very much almost verges into spoiler territory but uhm. uhm. starts twitching basically the whole dynamic here is . sometimes when you love you will sacrifice. and while that is usually a good thing sometimes it is not but sometimes it still is. sometimes you pay your dues for love and sometimes someone else has to pay for your love as well. and whether that is worth it to them remains to be seen. but it's all about love still. whether that's a worthy cause is up to you i suppose
the frost - yoshiki and hikaru from hikaru ga shida natsu
fun fact (or not so fun fact since i had it listed as such) this slot was originally meant to be taken up by a gojo/geto edit and while it still works for them frighteningly well i swerved to do another black and white haired doomed gay pairing gfhjkl; i really recommend yall to read hikaru ga shinda natsu/the summer that hikaru died because honestly it speaks for itself! it's SO good i love it so bad
star - ari and luca by @anjitrait
wow these two did not deserve the horrors the narrative (me) slammed down onto their heads. they're kind of the most married of all time to me but like of course under pressure even the strongest most loving of bonds will warp. they've been together for roughly a decade and a half now. they know and love each other as totally as you could possibly imagine. despite it all i am yours, no matter. are we picking up what i'm putting down chat
i'm your man - nayef and sióar by @lucidicer
after the album dropped like at least 3 people swung into my dms with a ?this you?? about this song which. i mean the fucking dogs that start barking halfway through the song. are you kidding me. but anyways sioyef and devotion. sioyef and putting yourself in your lover's hands and looking to them like they are a god. this is super self explanatory. you know
i love me after you - redacted and ophelia
HM.... all i'll say here is that sometimes the homoerotic tension filled high school friendship where both parties have something very wrong with them but in totally different directions can be. scarring. bad. sometimes love just isn't enough when you don't know what you're meant to do with it and when you've lived in survival mode all your life. but that once the dust clears you can scrape yourself off the ground get up keep going and that isn't gonna be the end for you there. or for love, even. sometimes shit just ain't meant to be and thats ok

seventeen as wave to earth songs
FEATURING. seventeen (ot13) GENRE. headcanons WARNINGS. none WORD COUNT. 1.3k
notes: i thought n wrote this within the hours of 3-4 am because my brain couldn’t fight the urge even tho no one asked for this lmao ;; im blaming this seungkwan edit on tiktok that conspired me to do this. a lot of ppl have prob done this but this is my take (some of them were HARD) :') honestly any of these can be switched around
choi seungcheol as calla
the first word i associated with this song is "devotion", and my mind immediately thought of cheol. he is the definition of loyalty and puts in his all when it comes to love and towards whoever his calla will be. he has the power of reassurance and hope, and this can also be interpreted vice versa will cheol being the "calla" of the relationship--the one who may be withering away inside, so he needs that other half to supply him with the rain that he needs to grow
"But Calla, you can always grow back, oh If you don't have enough sunlight I'll blow the clouds away, Calla Bloom yourself until the end"
yoon jeonghan as daisy.
jeonghan as daisy just MAKES SENSE?? he is the splash of colour within a simplistic life, a constant source of happiness even in the most mundane situations. i just love the vibrant feels of this song and it makes me imagine a scenario of running down the beach holding hands with him. seeing his presence just never fails to brighten up my day up, and its just a very comforting song in general which reminds me sm of him
"Oh, daisy, it's my happiness to run into you Life always goes on and on But, I'll live with you forever So, be my daisy"
joshua hong as bad
the instrumentals of the song gives me joshua vibes. and just like the lyrics, how can the sight of joshua's smile/just him in general not make your day even better? for some reason i also had an imagination of him serenading someone with this song plsss, it would be so swoonworthy to hear that. its such a romantic song abt finding joy and happiness in your loved one, and i think joshua has a lot of love inside of him
"How could my day be bad when I'm with you? You're the only one who makes me laugh So how can my day be bad? It's a day for you"
wen junhui as light
the constant mention of the moon and the sky just gives me jun energy. i don't know if the word quirky is the right word to call this song (probably not, now that i think abt it, maybe more calm) but its a word i would definitely describe jun with. he's always a person who tries his best to shine as much as he could and he's just someone you can rely on yk
"You are my sea, you are my sunshine The star, the moon"
kwon soonyoung as pink
this song is just very... freeing and nostalgic? and it reminds of me soonyoung where everything just feel so liberating and free when it comes to being with him. his spirit just seems to rid of any worries just so easily, and it kind of reminds me of the sunset, where the colour pink is shown, and just like the song says- it's such a beautiful colour just like him
"During the sunset The pink light is clear It drew you, the beautiful you Your image" (translation may not be accurate because it's in full korean)
jeon wonwoo as seasons
someone had to be seasons and it was such a hard choice of who to give this song to but ultimately, i picked wonwoo. this song is just so bittersweet and melancholic. it holds so many heartfelt emotions inside of it but also so many unhappy emotions as well. it displays vulnerability and how that kind of feeling can feel burdensome to those around you and overall, i feel like he is the more perfect choice for this song tbh
"Oh my life is fallin' apart Maybe no one will notice if I disappear But I'll pray for you all the time If I could be by your side I'll give you all my life, my seasons"
lee jihoon as wave
i absolutely adore the instrumentals of this song sm. it's about embracing the unknown with someone special and i feel like the kinda fits with jihoon very well. i just love the symbolism of waves and stars in the song and how it symbolises this desire to adventure and traverse thru the unknown. i also think jihoon is very introspective n knowing that nothing lasts forever, but with the wave being mentioned that will last forever just,, perfectly contrasts with that? this was a bit hard to explain asljkdlas n made more sense in my head
"When you spoke to me, The words are like a floating star Now I'm next to you The waves will take us far away"
xu minghao as ride
the lyrics of the song is basically describing someone else being your safe space, and i definitely think minghao is that. he is the type of person whose presence is an easy source of comfort to whatever sort of emotional baggage one may hold. he's simply just the definition of the word comfort and to me, is what this song gives
"I'm on a ride Ride You are my city Everything"
kim mingyu as peach eyes
mingyu is just the type of person whose eyes seem to hold SO MUCH love or appear so lovestruck? or just him in general tbh--he just seems to hold so much love and is willing to dump that all for the person he adores w all his life. like eyes can carry so much within them istg. this song is also more on the cheery and upbeat side and i definitely think that resonates w the type of person that he is
"Peach eyes and blue skies It's on the moonlight, how many songs I write You'll be my sunlight, how could I not rely On you, peach eyes?"
lee seokmin as sunny days
the sun = seokmin hello?? i love the description of nature in this song and it reminds me of walking in the park on a sunny afternoon with him and it's just so perfect, like how everything is just so insignificant without the presence of the other person aka him. it's a golden type of love where it doesn't waver even as time goes by, and i can definitely see that with seokmin
"You are my golden age Evеrything shines so bright That my eyes go blind Our youth never ages here"
boo seungkwan as love.
this is my favourite wave to earth song btw. it may just be me being very biased but listening to the song while thinking of him just FITS him? the song is literally abt the strength of love thru hardships, being someone with a fragile heart, and reminds me of those types of hugs where it just feels... right? like everything is simply okay? the song makes me ascend each time i listen to it on full blast, and boo never fails to make me ascend with not just his voice, but his care and the amount of love he carries in himself, his strength, just HIM
"My little heart too Like small waves in it Broken and pushed back Melting into you Only then can I see my eternity" (translation may not be accurate because it's in full korean)
vernon chwe as so real
the instrumentals in this song esp at the end are so superior btw. other than that, despite the calm vibes this song emits just like vernon, it's also a song about feeling stuck, about being lost in your emotions. not that i'm assuming vernon is feeling this way, but in general, it reminds me of that feeling being alone in your own world which i think suits him with this song more than others
"I can't explain Where I'm buried now An empty vein You'll never understand"
lee chan as surf.
this song has such an uplifting and upbeat vibe and it's about enjoying the time that you have, even though it's temporary, and living in the moment spending time with yourself and also those that you love as well. the lyrics make me smile so much, and i definitely think chan fits the song very well because i def think he has this power to charge others (like his members) with energy just by being himself
"Dance my babe, dance my friends We don't have much time to enjoy Just sing it my babe Bigger than you ever did We don't have much time to enjoy Our time will be gone someday But I'm okay Life is like surfin' anyway"

On the meanings of the titles of Neuvillette's soundtracks
because hoo boy. he can fit so much religious and mythological symbolism in him.
1. Teaser theme - Eleusis Dicis Gratia
youtube
With the help of Latin-speaking discord buddies who wished to remain anonymous, we established that the phrasing is clunky, but "dicis gratia" means "you thank" or "thank", that is, either just second person or an imperative.
Eleusis (or Elefsina) is a city in Greece which in ancient history and mythology is famous for two things equally relevant to us.
1. It was a coastal town, and one of the coastal caves was said to be the place where Persephone was abducted by Hades, as well as the entrance to Tartarus, the abyss under the realm of Hades.
(Parallelled by Meropide and the Primordial Sea under it? Also does this mean that those of you who say that Wriolette are Hades and Persephone-coded are even more right than you think you are?)
2. Shortly after the creation of Athens, there was a war between it and Elefsina, supposedly deity-backed: Athens belonging to, of course, Athena, and Elefsina to Poseidon. Athens won, but out of all the territories conquered by it, Elefsina remained the most independent one, even allowed to call itself a polis and coin its own money.
(Parallelled by the usurpation of Hydro authority and Neuvillette's second-highest position in Fontaine?)
Eleusis was also an eponymous mytholigical hero. They (gender is inconclusive, but more likely male) don't have any deeds of interest, but their parentage is somewhat relevant: Hermes and an Oceanid-nymph, Daeira. (This would fit Furina better than Neuvillette)
Conclusion: "Eleusis" can mean both a place (to be interpreted as Fontaine) and a person (to be interpreted as either Neuvillette or Furina). Either they are thanked by someone or someone implores another to thank them. Therefore a perfect conclusion is unachievable, but my personal favourite interpretation, based on the teaser's content, is "Neuvillette tells himself to thank Fontaine [for giving him perspective]".
Phew.
2. Demo theme - Parousia Diluvi
youtube
This one's actually much easier!
"Parousia" translates literally from Greek as "presence", but lithurgically it means "Second Coming". "Diluvi" is probably familiar from the Story Quest name, so the full name of the track is "Second Coming of the Flood".
Bonus: the lyrics in the beginning and from 0:59 to 1:10 are "Omne sublime despicit est heres superbiae", meaning "Every deity is looked down upon by the proud heir". Which is, well, canon. (credit to @vidyadharaonline and @hosbirb in the video's comments!)
TL;DR: A WHOLE LOT of Greek mythology and biblical references here.
P. S. All info from Wikipedia! Also feel free to correct me

yellowjackets as taylor swift albums (I'm bored). this became deeper than I meant for it to go OMG. whoops, anyways, enjoy:
1. tai: reputation. oh my god this girl is soooo in love with van, and at the end of the day, that's what reputation is. a love album. yeah it's got a little revenge in it, but overall, it's about being in love with someone who was there for you at your most vulnerable. and who's always been there for tai, adult AND teen timeline? VAN!
2. van: 1989! it's nostalgic, fun, iconic but still has the emotional rawness that flows throughout all of taylor's albums. everyone thinks 1989 is just heaps of fun, but it has this emotional intensity to it that once you look closer to it, you realise how much of a masterpiece it is. also, it just gives me van vibes tbh.
3. jackie: lover. she's so insecure about being in a relationship with who she thinks is the love of her life (shauna) in case she fucks it up (spoiler alert, she does). taylor also wrote this album as a last hurrah, to prove she had more stories to tell, and I think that ties in nicely to jackie's character. her insecurity forces her to try and prove herself to shauna, and show her best friend how much she loves her.
4. shauna: she's a red girlie. taylor's most emotionally raw album (besides ttpd) and she just gives the vibes. this is taylor's first heartbreak album (like how jackie's death was shauna's first heartbreak), and it's so intense that it takes a few listens to understand, but once you do, you realise it's an album about a girl with big heart learning how to recover from the devastation of losing someone she loves deeply.
5. lottie: folklore!! I love my little baby. this album was written in isolation, and you can definitely hear it in some of taylor's lyrics, and I just feel like that's lottie's character. the isolated girl who's held up to a higher standard than everyone else.
6. nat: ttpd. okay, i was tossing up between giving this to nat or travis, but then I remembered the adult timeline and went with nat. when I first heard this album, it reminded me of her purposeless speech. it's also an album where taylor was going through a manic phase, and if that isn't nat, I don't know what is. she's just lost the love of her life, and then she's kidnapped by lottie's cult and promised so many wonderful things, that she believes it—only for it to end in tragedy.
7. misty: she gives off such speak now vibes. she has so much she wants to prove, and she's reeling from being in love with a man much older than her.
8. travis: evermore. he's such a tragic little guy, that the album suits him. I really just think of happiness, marjorie and right where you left me because he's stuck in the past. he literally kills himself (accidentally I know, I know) because he's so trapped in the wilderness despite being free from it. this album has always given me: depressed sad, compared to its sister albume: folklore, which gives me angry sad. and while he's definitely more angry then lottie, he's got this deep sadness in him that echoes evermore.
9. mari: midnights. okay I don't know how to explain it better than this is how I interpret mari. she's the first to throw herself into believing lottie because she's scared and when I think of midnights, I think of how scared taylor was at losing her relationship and joe that she ignores her feelings. and mari ignores her feelings because if she really thinks about it, I don't think she'd be able to handle herself, i.e. being trapped in the woods, eating jackie.
10. javi: taylor swift (debut). just the innocence and naïvety of the album. it's her first album, she wrote and released at 15/16 so there's a lot of childish beliefs and hopes, which I think javi has—but there's still an underlying feeling of heartbreak. he tries to be a kid, but is still traumatised.
11. laura lee: fearless!! this is purely based on the album title. I mean, learning to fly a plane just to save her friends? this album is probably my least favourite, so you're not going to get a lot of analysis, but the few times I've listened to it, I understand it's about having faith things will work out (this might be wrong, but that's what I'm choosing to believe about it). and her faith makes her believe she can do anything, including save her friends. omg I love her so much <333

hi! ive listened to some of chonny jash's songs but did not realize that there was really a story? Or i vaguely knew but didn't have the time/energy to get into it and with the release of the bidding animation ive realized theres like a bajillion awesome animations and art and i want to get into cccc but have no clue how. also why does soul have a trident.
OH man!
The story of CCCC has an overall seeming narrative, but much of it's smaller points are interpretive due to Jash himself leaving it up to fans of the album. But! Overall it kind of goes like:
-Jash or, what most people call Whole, splits as due to mental dissonance and waning mental health. (Time Machine Reprise).
- Whole fades into Soul (End of TMR into Dream) and from there its Mucka Blucka as a sort of introductory song. The recap for a story you have or haven't heard yet.
- (The entire album is a time loop! Which is a big metaphor for the cycles of mental health and illness people go through.)
- From there its the section called "Cacophony" which starts off with Soul, but eventually it turns to Heart and Mind + their fighting and inability to see or listen to one another or their points of view. Of course, as Logic and Emotion, they both have valid ideas or opinions, but believe themselves so contradictory that the other must be evil or out to get them.
- Heart attempts to shoot Mind, as referred to in Ruler of Everything. Literal or Metaphorical as you take this, it is seemingly symbolic for an attempt at one's own life if not self sabotage. If not then both.
- The rest up until Soul Eclectic is sort of just the Mind and Heart fighting and their own personal views each on the situation.
- Soul in The Soul Eclectic reaches his breaking point. Threatening to kill them all (A more direct attempt at suicide)
- Mind and Heart in the subsequent songs decide to get their shit together.
- (Two Wuv) Soul realizes that not only can they be happier now but that trying to force themselves to conform to society's ideas of mental health or belief or love is just plainly unbeneficial. Sort of a song about unapologetically being yourself.
- Welcome To Tally Hall is a tribute to Tally Hall themselves more than anything.
- This transfers into Concord soon after! Concord is Whole or Jash by himself, though many of the songs seem to carry themes from Cacophony in them. Self sabotage, disagreement, importance placed on the wrong thing, the idea that no one person is better off than another. It concludes with Taken for a Ride. Which is also sort of CJ's epic "im burnt out as hell" song towards the end. But exaggerated to my knowledge for lyrical shenanigans.
That is CCCC as neutrally told as best as possible. I highly recommend forming your own ideas on it, but I'd be happy to also discuss more in depth my opinion on each song should you or anyone else express interest!
Getting into the Trident: The fandom took the metaphor of "Tridential Sovreignty" and "This trident he formed (found? Lyrics.) is both weapon and motive" and said "Soul's got a trident" to which Jash responded with "Absolutely yes he does now" Same with the crown most people put Mind in, and that is referenced in the "Trident, Crown and Blindfold" line.
Soul really did get noose imagery, a trident and a mask. All Heart n Mind got were a blindfold and crown. Lmao
Though Heart is also commonly drawn with wings. Which is semi-canonical according to album covers. I choose to ignore them because I don't particularly have an attachment to the idea!
Getting into the fandom itself, I can recommend looking around for the Chonny Jash Fan Server (CJFS) Discord link. But it can be extremely intimidating and even I just stick to discussion and one other thread channel. (Sides from my au channels which pop up every once a month or so).
Important note is that only Tally Hall covers have to do with HMS. Any of Jash's other music (of which I highly recommend, always) is unrelated. There is also a fan QnA somewhere that was done like a year ago now which has some neat answers in it.
I, again, am happy to go into my interpretations of HMS and the music as a whole but skdmsm saved you the reading hopefully should that be undesired!
#chonnys charming chaos compendium#asks#voidthoughts#i def reccomend looking at analysis of the album too! calamarispider has good ones but idrm if kai ever put them here or if it kept them on#twitter only#i have my own but its been taking me too long so lol maybe people asking would help motivate me OSNFJSNS

I was looking at a friend's posts recently and realized that not everyone sees Oldies Station as a really hopeful song?
Like yeah, there are emotional/darker lyrics (eg. "Make an oath then make mistakes/Start a streak you're bound to break", "Future's coming fast, you've got nothing in the tank") but as the song progresses so much of it is about getting better, like "Future's coming fast, you've got nothing in the tank" is twisted/managed into being "Little less concerned when there's nothing in the tank" in the second verse. The entire song is about how it can be a slow process, and you may still feel down/depressed as you get older, but it's so goddamn worth it
This is especially highlighted (for me) in the final verse/bridge(?) where he talks about all the good things (interspersed with our central motif of "push on through"). Like he's singing about how he's lived long enough that "his" song is now on the "oldies station", how he now is at a point in life where he doesn't mind/is okay with mental health stopping him for a beat (how I'm choosing to interpret "You don't quite mind how long red lights are taking," (can also be super literal though, he's not in such a rush anymore and can just chill at red lights on the road) his daughter is old enough that he can go to her dance recitals. All because he 'pushed on through' and kept living long enough.
Like yes, especially as someone only a few months clean from s/h, the line "Start a streak you're bound to break" hits SO HARD. but also in the wider context the song is so much about just hope and showing how life is so worth living, it's also in a way a commentary about how progress is not linear. Tyler reassures multiple times in the song that even if "darkness rolls on through" you should still keep going, its WORTH IT to "push on through"
#sorry for this very rambley take i needed to get it out#yes oldies station is in my top 5 how could you tell#twenty one pilots#clancy#oldies station#song breakdown#tw self harm#lucus says stuff#tyler joseph

Delulu anon here:
I completely understand where you're coming from in regards to letter on face. I guess, for me personally, face ended with Set Me Free pt. 2 and signified his journey ending in this both triumphant but also angry way. Very poignant. It felt less like a "Oh, look, I'm magically better now" and more a "fighting is the only thing I can do now, I tried nice and look what it got me". To me, it signified the fact that healing isn't linear nor pretty, nor does it always end in a neat bow. It's his chrysalis moment, and also one of the best songs in the BTS catalogue.
The English version of Like Crazy and Letter are more an encore or addendum, in my personal view.
I'd contrast Face and its structure with D-DAY (whilst also flipping out over the fact that every album BTS has delivered in Chapter 2 has been an absolute experience), which ends on the very much softer note of Snooze and Life Goes On. Especially LGO (Yoongi's Version) feels exactly like how you interpret Letter.
In all honesty, both of us are probably right, and I'm usually someone who doesn't subscribe to any of the theories claiming a BTS song is about another member. It feels a bit cheap, because BTS are individuals with a lot of complex emotions that exist outside their relationship with others. I've seen people claim all sorts of things, and Letter is that one exception where I don't disagree.
Initial Ask
Hi lovely,
Ugh, yes, yes, yes! I agree with what you’re saying, so beautifully put! I too feel like set me free was the ‘end’ leading into MUSE’s ‘Rebirth’. And ‘Letter’ like an addendum, yes!
I think that’s why Letter isn’t on streaming platforms and a hidden track. That in itself is so telling. It’s not really part of the flow of the songs. To me (very simplified):
FACE
Face-off : Jimin kinda internalising his ‘issues’
to
Dive: being submerged in the overwhelming emotions?
to
Like Crazy: using unhealthy coping mechanisms and the push pull battle of not caring and caring too much?
to
Alone: the consequences of his ‘like crazy’ actions or realisations setting in
to
Set Me Free: overcoming, f*ck it attitude, leaving the sh*t behind, shedding the ‘filth’
MUSE
Rebirth: self explanatory?
to
Showtime: he’s ready to take on the world with his new outlook on life, himself and people
to
SGMB: in love with love, love of people, his members, his fans, happy and want to be people’s happiness. In love and what’s people to enjoy love too.
That is a very rough & shallow summary (many have done interesting and thought provoking theories & analyses of FACE) but to me ‘Letter’ is more like ‘I can’t not do this for someone who’s been there holding my hand through this journey. I want to thank them, acknowledge them and continue to promise to them. They were a hidden part of this journey, an undercurrent’ his letter to him, his song to him, shared with us but not in the same way as FACE & MUSE. Not on streaming platforms for any and all. Memorialised in hard copy only. The lyrics needing extra scrutiny to read them, embossed not with ink. Embedded deep but still not straightforward to see.
I totally get you when it comes to always having their work attributed to the ‘ship.’ I don’t buy into a lot of it either.
BUT Letter speaks for itself. It’s not like ‘I wonder’ where Hobi collaborated with JK for them to make a lovely song. It’s not like how JK is their go to guy for guide recordings to be used by a different vocalist later on. In my opinion.
I like the way you think anon! I like that you are able to look at other members work and the topic as a whole, many focus on the two and the two only but I appreciate people who look at things wholisticly 😍 Yes I get you with the ending on a more mellow note like Yoongi’s DDAY with snooze and his cute version of LGO. Definitely
I really really really don’t like when anything and everything is brought back to their relationship and their relationship only. It’s demeaning. It’s like if anything a woman does was always brought back to her husband or her boyfriend you know? They have worked so so hard for very long to be whole, rounded, talented INDIVIDUALS. The experiences and stories they have to tell are not just one thing, their relationship. They don’t pick every song for their careers, every outfit, every prop, every scene just to highlight the man in their life. Honestly that would be scarily unhealthy and I’d suggest therapy.
I think a lot of the connections people make are what I like to call ‘cute delulu’ and what are these sites for if not to have a little fun with our chosen spaces/communities/fandoms. The majority of the time it’s just for fun and I enjoy it with us (even though I’m bad at instigating it😅).
It’s if people completely refuse to appreciate the actual art and intent and only want to use it for ‘ships’ that it’s saddening.
Thank you so much for the folllow up. It was lovely and I enjoyed it
💜

✍️ and 🎯 for the ask game!
✍️ If you had total creative control over a production of Cats, what would you change and why?
There's a bunch of little things, but in regards to big things, from a purely aesthetic POV, I would bring back the original Broadway style structuring of the show (mixed with the Original Vienna production), and how it interconnected with its narrative more - so this includes things like the Alonzo Shadow Dance connecting with the Demeter/Alonzo subplot etc.. I'd bring back their costuming and makeup tradition as well, as that I feel was a good example of how designs can be more "muted" from a colour palette standpoint and quick and easy to do, but not look like muddy water.
Also, I'd bring back all of the cut lyrics and stanzas - honestly make the show longer, I wish for audiences to sit in confusion and fear for as long as I demand they be there - I am a believer that CATS should be palatable as little as possible, and making it unsettling and weird again is a must. That being said, I likely wouldn't bring back G**ltiger in any significant capacity (the artistry of that number is commendable, but it has so many negative connotations associated with it, that I do not believe it should be brought back in any capacity, even if re-written), but do believe that "In Una Tepida Notte" and/or "The Ballad of Billy McCaw" should be reintroduced into the show. While I love giving Gus "The Pekes and the Pollicles", I'd like it if we could reintroduce the operetta within a musical angle.
Blocking Jemima/SIllabub and Victoria together more so that it's more evident that the two of them are mutually working towards the show's concluding revelation would add more narrative cohesion leading to the final sing and touch. While I feel in theory the two roles actually being one was a better idea from a streamline standpoint, I love Jemima/Sillabub too much to do that. So that's the compromise.
Plus another thing, I'd want all the counterparts to be on stage as well with their original designs and redesigns - so Plato and Admetus, Pouncival and Carbucketty, etc., so this would be a more rather than less cast.
Also from a purely "no one cares except for me" standpoint, I want Skimbleshanks to be blocked to hang out with his friends (see: Jenny, Jelly, Asparagus, and even Bustopher if he's kept on stage). Why is he always hanging out by himself - let him sit with his friends!/j
🎯 What's a common headcanon/theory/interpretation that you don't prescribe to?
Answered this one, but another one I don't personally subscribe to is Alonzo being siblings with Victoria and Mr. Mistoffelees (whom I don't think are siblings either).
Nothing particularly personal about it, but I already struggle with keeping B&W Alonzo at the forefront of my mind as is, and this one seems to exist mainly just because they have the same colour palette. So it stands on shaky foundation for me - plus I don't think all the cats need to be blood related to one another. It's nice to explore multiple different community and familial angles from each of the generations.

Muse - Matt Bellamy Interview [ROCKIN'ON (August 2010)]
Matthew Bellamy Interview "Our music is very pure and very different from the mechanised society that awaits us at birth. So we resist any kind of pollution from invading our souls and our inner selves."
Interview: Takuya Furukawa / Interpreter: Noboru Takami
First of all, I heard that a huge UFO appeared during your current European tour and that you blocked the MTV signal at the German festival ‘Rock am Ring’. 「Hahahahahaha.」
What is the tour like at the moment? 「It's been amazing. We're playing the biggest stadium concerts of our career so far in the last two weeks…… First we have the Stade de France in Paris, then the San Siro Stadium in Milan, and tomorrow we'll be on stage at the Vicente Calderón Stadium in Madrid, so it's like we're in the middle of the excitement right now. We've put a lot of work into the stage set this time, and as we did at the Budokan, we're inspired by the image of the Ministry in George Orwell's novel 1984, which is a pyramid-like government building with a giant mirror ball eye on top, the images on the building's panel screens are synchronised with the sound…… There was also a mobile second stage that reached the audience and rotated, a UFO-like object flew over the audience, and a girl performed acrobatics above the audience's heads along with it. But at its core, it's still a rock concert, with a theatre-like atmosphere.」
Incidentally, is there any chance of seeing this UFO at Fuji Rock? 「I don't know, I can't say at the moment (laughs), but if we can catch the UFO, go to Japan and come back to Europe safely again (laughs), then maybe the UFO will make an appearance (laughs).」
(laughs). As well as UFOs, Muse's lyrics have a content that could be called epic poetry, with a cosmic motif that, coupled with the spiritual world, seems to be getting bigger and bigger. Why do you think you are attracted to such motifs? 「Why do you think you are attracted to such themes, like the universe? Maybe…… I think our generation today is the generation that is consciously aware of the universe and its origins…… I think they are conscious of how small the earth is in the vast universe, the connections between humans living there, and the connections between us and the universe, and through science they seem to have a better understanding of these things. And I think it's very exciting because some of the spiritual thoughts are connected to areas that have been scientifically proven. So I think that's why I feel so attracted to these themes and subjects because they are now at the cutting edge of our understanding of the reality we live in.」
Moreover, in the case of Muse, there is no nihilism there at all. The title of your latest album, The Resistance, was also symbolic, but I feel a certainty in Muse's music that ‘hope’ exists in this day and age, and that it can be attained by making the sound huge. Bands like this are rare even when you look around the rock scene today, so why do you guys think this is possible? 「I think it's because my love for music comes from a very pure place, and it's something that we don't have much contact with the general society and life on Earth that we normally see. For me, music is something that comes from a place closer to nature, or from the relationship between myself and nature when I feel close to it. So I think it's very pure and very different from the mechanised society that is waiting for us when we are born. When my music is born, it feels very hopeful, optimistic and very pure, but at the same time it also has contradictions and conflicts with the world that is waiting for it when it is born. In those moments, there's a feeling that the music needs to be protected, so in some cases, "The Resistance" is about that. It's about resisting any kind of contamination of your soul, of your inner self. And I think that the younger generation of today has something like that inside them. Something is not right, and it is especially strange that they are so disconnected from nature.」
And I think it's amazing that Muse have managed to achieve this with a three-piece band, but then again, when you formed this band, did you ever think about bringing in a fourth member? 「No, the choice was more of a practical one, simply because there was no one around to be the fourth member (laughs). It was more like it happened by chance. When we started out as a three-piece, I didn't want to be a singer, I wanted to concentrate on guitar, and as a guitarist I wanted to play with Chris on bass and Dominic on drums. And all we wanted was to find a singer, but it was impossible to find a singer in the town we lived in (laughs). So I ended up being the singer as well. After that we just followed that format for a long time. I think the reason why we've stayed as the three of us is because we've known each other since we were very young. Live we have a fourth member, but in the studio we always feel that three is enough for us.」
So today, I'd like to ask you a few questions in retrospect, you are now the number one band in the UK, both in name and reality, but incredibly, no UK label wanted to sign you before your debut. Why didn't they want to sign you? 「Because I think the music we were doing was always a bit out of step musically with the fashionable rock music of the time. Even now it feels slightly off, but when I first started this band, we were doing more progressive rock music, more hard rock music. At a time when the world was all about Britpop. Oasis and Blur and stuff like that. So we were particularly…… Well, record companies are very conservative in the way they make decisions, so they don't like to take risks. So when you act conservatively in the creative world, you look for things that are already popular. Or styles that are already popular. I think that's what caused a lot of difficulties when I was starting out.」
In fact, the media at the time pointed out the similarities between 'Showbiz' and Radiohead, didn't they? Looking back, what was Radiohead like for you? 「Did you mean for us when we made our debut? I think I first discovered Radiohead with their second album, 'Bends', I think…… When I first heard them, I was impressed by the intricate and elaborate sound they made. I thought it sounded very intelligent and different from any other band that was around at the time…… So it was definitely a band that I was more attracted to than Britpop, which was popular at the time. But I think I liked what became more their guitar music, because while I also listened to that in Radiohead, I liked their harder musicianship. So in that sense, they were certainly a very important band in the 90s.」
Do you think there were similarities between you and Radiohead in terms of your musical approach and your ability to stay out of fashion? 「Yes, there were similarities in the fact that they were not influenced by trends. But I think the musical approach is completely different. What we are looking for through our music is optimism, positive energy in the experience of living as a person. Whereas I think what Radiohead are looking for is more the opposite.」
You have in fact developed your own identity from there with your work, but if there was an album or song that was a turning point for you personally musically, which would you say it was? 「Rather than this song in particular being a turning point, I can think of a number of different songs that have had major imprints. For example, Plug in Baby’, or ‘New Born’ from the second album. Those songs were the ones that started the shift towards a more high-energy concept. Our fans became more interested in our live shows from then on. With the next album "Absolution", for example, I'd say ‘Time is Running Out’, or rather ‘Apocalypse Please’. Anyway, some of the songs on that album were the first to introduce the lyrical, epic grandeur of the album, which was quite a surprise, but we continued to pursue that afterwards. The next album, "Black Holes and Revelations", was also a surprise with ‘Starlight’, but it was a turning point for more uplifting and optimistic musicality. And then in the latest album, "The Resistance", ‘Uprising’ is a shift, and I think it's a shift towards more political emotions. So there are quite a lot of songs that have brought different impacts and different shifts again for different reasons.」
It took a long time for you to break into America, with ‘Plug In Baby’ being rejected for inclusion on "Origin of Symmetry", but was there a moment when you felt you had a breakthrough there? 「I think it was with "Absolution". That was generally recognised in America as our debut album…… It's actually our third album. But instead, we had a lot of exciting experiences. It's true that when we toured around the time of the first two albums, there was a part of me that was frustrated that we didn't get to America much because there was no interest in the US at all, but instead we ended up touring Europe and other parts of the world, Asia and Australia, so I was very glad that we didn't have to get involved with America. I've discovered so many culturally interesting countries and places as a result of the tour. If we had toured the US, I don't think we would have had the time to do that. That's what made the third one so interesting. We were seen as a completely new band in America, and everyone thought this third one was our first album. So it was fun for us to be a new band again, we suddenly felt young again (laughs) and we felt like we were starting all over again as a band. It gave the band new energy and inspiration, and that led to our fourth album.」
From the very beginning, you've been throwing your own confetti and putting on some kind of over-the-top live shows. Now you have a huge stage set that synchronises with that, but did you always have a vision for your live performances? 「I think so. I just used the word ‘vision’, and that's exactly what it is, because I've had a vision of our futuristic performance for a long time. In fact, when I'm writing songs, I'm also thinking about how I'm going to present them live as a performance, so I'm always visualising and having visions of how they should look, how they should be, and that also helps me a lot when I'm composing. So, sometimes I've thought in advance how I should present a certain song as a performance, and that also helps me as a starting point for designing the stage set.」
(laughs). And "Black Holes and Revelations" is an album in which genre barriers are broken down even further. Classical, techno, heavy metal, electro and many other genres were cross-fertilised in this work. What do genres mean to you? What is the first image you have of a song when it comes out? 「That's an interesting question…… It's true that I don't have any concept of genre. At least when I'm writing a song, I'm never conscious of genre at all. The first thing I think of when I write a song is…… I don't really know how to explain it, but it's like some kind of vibration or tremor that's hard to describe. Or maybe I could say it's a combination of some kind of vibration and emotion. In other words, where emotion is trying to transform itself into vibration…… You know, I'm trying to respond to this in a very serious way, you know (laughs). And it's a very interesting question. I mean, you're asking me what I see and imagine at that moment, and for the moment, the concept of genre is not in my mind, and for me genre is something that comes into view only at the very end. So at the very beginning, all I have are feelings and sensations, and maybe I'm trying to find something deep inside me. Or maybe it means I'm trying to find it from my soul. And by translating that search into a kind of vibration, some kind of mood is created. And from there, you are led to play a kind of harmony or melody. You are also led to play a certain kind of rhythm. So you condense those harmonies, melodies, and rhythms around that certain vibration. And then I try to somehow make each of those elements fit together and make it into something very pure. After that is done, you then bring in the instruments. I think about stuff like, "Is this the drums, no, this is not the drums, this is the orchestra". It's like throwing all sorts of elements towards a certain vibration that's already there. The vibrations are like magnets, so I guess you could say I'm making custom magnets (laughs). Anyway, some instruments are very strongly attracted to it. But there are some instruments that don't stick. And then you end up with a certain object, and that's the first time you can be put into a genre (laughs). It was a very interesting question, so I really had to put it into words (laughs).」
Incidentally, I think your latest album, The Resistance, is your most conceptual and narrative work to date. The suite ‘Exogenesis Symphony’ that closes the album is very dramatic, but what message did you want to convey with that suite? 「About ‘Exogenesis Symphony’… Well, a lot of the songs on the album are about politics, love and everyday life, but the ending is about flying away from the earth into space and looking back and seeing the earth as a very small being again, getting smaller and smaller in the distance. I wanted people to feel that kind of feeling. And I wanted people to think about the smallness of our own existence. I wanted to create a very cinematic kind of music, the kind of music that you might hear in a sci-fi or space film, to make you think that you are travelling through space right now. I wanted to make music that would make people think that I am travelling in space, and that once I am out in space, life is not limited to the Earth, but may exist in other places. And while singing, I wanted to connect a kind of emotion to something more universal and omnipresent, not just limited to Earth.」
I think it's the fans who have supported you all along. Muse's shows attract all kinds of fans, but are there any fans who have surprised you by making you think, "Oh my god, there are people like that here too!?!?" 「Yes, well, as our fan base has grown, we've been able to swallow more and more different types of audiences, so we have all types of people. It's unimaginable, and it's amazing to see everyone from young kids to old people at the same time. But the first thing that really surprised me was that at the beginning, at a live performance for the second album, when I met a very old man, maybe in his 70s, and after the show I met him and talked to him, and he didn't know anything about rock music at all, but he was very knowledgeable about classical music, and we had a very good time. He came to our concert because he thought we were classical musicians playing very hard music (laughs). I was really surprised that he didn't know anything about the rock genre and had come to listen to classical music first. I was extremely impressed by that. That someone of that age, and with that kind of musical understanding, would be interested in us.」
Last question. Now that you're recognised as one of the best live bands in the world, do you have any ambitions you haven't achieved yet? 「Well, so we like to play live, but we also want to grow in the studio. I hope that one day I can capture that feeling of the live show on the album. I know that's a very difficult thing to do, but I definitely want to make it happen one day. Also, as a songwriter, I feel like there's a lot more I can express through the songs that I want to keep improving, and I think there's a lot more truth that I can explore in songwriting. So I want to keep improving in that area.」
Translator's Note: Finally got around to translating this interview. Next up to post later on are Dom and Chris' interviews. Despite having translated other interviews from different eras, it feels like I'm still stuck in TR era content even months later lmao 😂

All right, one of the main things I talk about on this blog are ships, so here's a quick rundown of my favorites.
Kyoko Sakura/Sayaka Miki (Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Ah, KyoSaya, my beloved. What can I say about them? Let's start with how they are each other's perfect foils, with several important similarities to draw them together while several major differences to keep that spicy clashing. They are the perfect example of soulmates, two characters who, when in opposition, constantly get worse and worse, but when they're on the same page, they bring out each other's best qualities. Not bad for a relationship that started with mutual murder attempts and had a murder/suicide as its midpoint!
Canon? Eh, sort of. Obviously, PMMM likes to skirt the line, but they definitely knew what they were doing. So, not officially confirmed canon, more of, "And they were roommates!"
2. Suletta Mercury/Miorine Rembran (Gundam: the Witch from Mercury)
You know a pairing is strong when it's the most recent one but also rocketed up to the number two spot.
Suletta and Miorine are opposites attracting in its purest form. The socially anxious and all loving country girl and the cold and cynical corporate heiress, these two are such fundamentally different people that if it weren't for the bizarre circumstances that brought them together, they probably wouldn't even be friends. But they were brought together, and as the grew to understand one another and got closer, both they and we found just how much they had in common, and how perfectly they complemented one another, with each of their strengths covering the other's weaknesses.
Canon? Absolutely. They're married, bitches! No further interpretation needed!
3. Shinji Ikari/Asuka Langley/Rei Ayanami (Neon Genesis Evangelion)
The one poly ship I am absolutely feral over, AsuShinRei (or the Israfel Special) are an example of a ship that cannot work in canon, would absolutely be a terrible idea in canon, but man, don't you wish you lived in the world where it would work? For as toxic, avoidant, and abusive these three are to each other, their respective traumas and personalities are such that if they could get just the slightest bit better and reach out to one another instead of pushing each other away, they would click so wonderfully well. Alas, it is not meant to be.
Canon? Lol, no.
4. Princess Entrapta/Hordak (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power)
I debated putting this one so high up over the heavy hitters that it sits atop upon, but at the end of the day, as a grumpy autistic introvert, these two just meant so much to me. It's like each represents different aspects of my personality, and watching them interact made me feel seen in a way I didn't even know I needed.
Canon? Kind of. At the very least, they're extremely close friends with a possibility for romance.
5. Luz Noceda/Amity Blight (The Owl House)
I had a real hard time choosing whether this or Catradora should take the number five spot, but while Catradora has that wonderful enemies to lovers with so much delicious angst, Lumity edges it out by being the rare pairing that got together at the midpoint, letting us actually see their relationship build and grow instead of ending on them getting together, and it was wonderful.
Canon? Absolutely.
6. Adora/Catra (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power)
But let's not take anything away from Catradora. I love enemies to lovers. It's that spice of conflict between two people that are at constant odds but also deeply understand one another better than their friends do that makes all the difference, and them being former best friends just pushes it over the edge. You can feel how much they care, no matter how often or how violently they fought, and Catra being pulled back from the brink and the two finally being honest with their feelings was so cathartic.
Canon? Hell yeah.
7. Nanoha Tamamachi/Fate Testarossa (Lyrical Nanoha)
An oldie but a goodie. Nanoha and Fate are probably my first real ship, and set the standard for many of my ships to come. Enemies to lovers, close personal relationship, battle couple, whole nine yards. And while it predates me truly getting into shipping, meaning I'm not as gaga over them as I am the others, you have got to respect those who paved the way.
Canon? Basically. I mean, the time period and culture prevented them from outright saying it, but come on.
8. Marisa Kirisame/Alice Margatroid (Touhou)
To be honest, I don't ship/ship these two like I do the others. More of, I read a lot of really touching doujins about these two when I was first getting into Touhou and I like their dynamic. But like NanoFate, you have to give it up to the OG's.
Canon? Nah.
And any other ships fall into "I liked them when I was a kid, but feel really weird talking about them as an adult" or "MC x Best Girl in a harem series, but does that really count?" or stuff that I like but don't feel strongly enough about them to include.

Marble Hornets - Amsterdam: Thought Process
so I already told everyone that amsterdam is my favorite song but I also chose this song because the lyrics are very appealing to tim's situation
When I listened to this song I personally thing it's about people with depression or people that disappoint in their way of life
in these frames I portrayed tim's past when he was just a child and that his mom, Janet, had to admit him to hospital because of his mental illness reason. I like to think tim originally had this symptoms and operator just making it worst later when tim starting seeing it (I dont think there's no clear detail if tim get this symptom because of it or not but it clearly affect tim later on)
these 2 frames I purposely made it to seem like a 2 different side of tim. the first is when tim has grew up. He received proper medication and therapy later on. He thought that he's getting better but the operator just won't let him go. as you can see in second pic (I refer the operator as tinman, when I heard of tinman word I thought of these words: emotionless, unmovable, cruel)
I represent the woods as the more he gets involved in this story, the lesser chance he has of getting out of this alive or chance of going back to normal
the black backgrounds part is to show both amy and alex's fates. the alex one means that even if alex tried to hide/run away from the operator or (paper getting torn apart) the operator still there and won't stop haunting him (paper pieces got taped back and blood part refer to when alex decided to kill (or lie to) his friends so that "the operator sickness" won't spread further)
the sea part match with lyric part "congratulation, you are all alone" in totheark font (hoody mocking alex). even thought I barely show hoody in any frames in comic, i tried to show his perspective to situation by using totheark fonts in it
I like to play with colors contrasting each others
I interpret the lyrics "rain wont fall on us, sun won't shine on us" as, not everyone got what they want or have the ending they decided for. Hoody tried very hard to fix things (even if some of it is not really pleasant way of helping) that he gave up brian persona, he still died. I also interpret the sun part as even if it seems like thing might actually getting better or think that the story might actually end in a good way. Jay is still died. even if Jay finally start to get help like Tim wanted, he still died
the "I wouldn't have it any other way" meant that even if tim tried to tell alex that he can help him, alex still believe in his own belief. so it leave tim no other choice
"your time will come" part I used the same pattern as jay's frame. because it's jay that wanted to help jessica but now that jay died now tim got to continue what jay left
I used skully symbol because its totheark caption matched with tim's situation like, "so much more than time has been taken" pretty much sum up it all and implying that skully is still out there
I forgot to write in image but the second frame where tim driving out of Alabama you can see that the woods at first is very thick then it started to fade away
yeah the camera part I had to trace from sony manual book. and about jay's jacket, after jay gone tim probably still had his stuff? don't know what he gonna do with it but I dont think he gonna threw them away
"cause these walls they're crashing down" this part I interpret as the whole "marble hornets" thing is no longer relevant anymore
and that's all! thanks for reading I'm very happy how it turned out so I hope you enjoyed this as I do too

I saw a lot of discourse around Seventeen using AI in their comeback trailer, and I thought I'd share my take on it.
If you're interested, keep reading, it's a lot 😅
Also, please excuse any grammar mistakes, it's almost 2 am lmao
BUT once I watched the teaser as a whole a few more times and slowed it down to really look at each scene, I'd like to think that I understood the artistic vision behind it.
So, do I like them using AI? I don't know, not really if I'm being honest. I'm not a big fan of people using AI for commercial purposes, so I was a bit thrown off at first.
From my interpretation, it's their way of saying how much AI harms the arts.
First of all, let me bring out the line in the very beginning of the video that goes
"In our current reality where anything can be created with AI, who's the real maestro?"
It kind of highlights the fact to me that with music creation becoming more and more "accessible" to people - even those who have literally zero musical sensibility - with the help of AI, being "good" at creating music slowly loses its uniqueness and creditability. People won't look up to others who are good at writing lyrics or creating beats and they won't "idolise" them because they can have it with just a click of a button. It highlights that if we keep going down the route of using AI to create music, people could get credited with little to no music skills, and those who are actually skilled could lose their jobs.
It would also be hard to tell if the songs are actually created by living-breathing musicians with the help of human minds and emotions, or they're just a cheap AI copy that STEALS and uses already existing pieces of art to create something else.
Next, I'd like to talk about the trailer itself.
If you slow down the trailer to the slowest setting and just pay attention to the video, you can see a scene for a fraction of a second where Hoshi is kneeling with his hands tied in the middle of a bunch of robot looking soldiers(?) with their rifles pointed at him.
It's just one scene I distinctly remember, but most of the cuts looked like they were all somehow "controlled" by various types of electronic devices(?).
There are also AI created scenes in between some actual scenes of the guys themselves showcasing robots making music, also somewhat symbolising that people creating music with AI is just like as if it was robots creating it and it has zero human emotions involved whatsoever.
I also saw people saying that "since they used AI, they could've used something better quality so it doesn't look this ass" and all I can say to that is I think that was part of the point they're trying to make?
Like it's kind of symbolising that AI can never truly be as good as a piece of art created from human emotions BY a human? Idk that's just my opinion honestly.
In conclusion, all I can say is that I hope they only used AI for this one trailer alone, or like we'd only get a few seconds of AI in the MV AT MAX.
I'm not really fond of the idea of AI being used for commercial purposes, so I hope they only used it just for this one trailer to make a point.
I mean, we've seen many K-pop groups have trailers to music videos that had literally nothing to do with what was in the actual music video, so I'm hoping it's one of those cases.
I hope it's like a "prologue" to set the scene/tone for the MV itself.
Anyways, if anyone read the whole thing, thank you, I really appreciate you.
I'd also love to hear your thoughts in the comments/reblogs, it's an interesting topic to talk about.
I might also follow up with some new thoughts in a reblog if I remember something else.
#it might just be me but ai pictures/videos really do creep me out for some reason#seventeen#seventeen comeback#svt#17 is right here#maestro

Lisztober #11: Symphonie Fantastique
Madness has taken hold at the Maidchen court. What always comes across as so easy here, is a real challenge, which unfortunately also takes its toll. I now have a real coffee problem by now, so I sometimes have heart palpitations at night. Then there's the incredible time pressure to present you with something cool that has to be ready in less than 24 hours.
If anyone asks why we're sitting in a three-person cell in a asylum by November, tell them it's because of absinthe, reading too much Lautréamont and hysteria. Please.
And that brings us right back to today's topic. Yesterday we escalated. Really. So much so that one girl is hoarse and the other is on the verge of tinnitus. Additionaly, one of our speakers died due to the volume and overdrive. Here you can listen a true masterpiece by Maidchen standards. We had to stop in between, because of laughing over and over, again and again. Both while writing and during the recording itself. Even while cutting. And even more so when the neighbor simply started practicing the tuba for unknown reasons. I didn't even know he had a tuba. It must be new. Totally surreal. But luckily, he didn't call the police on us. And you wouldn't believe how many takes we “indulged” in. (There were 26. 26!) I hope we can convey these moments of pure joy. PLEASE LISTEN TO THE WHOLE SONG TO GET THE VIBE! ;)
The reason for this was our contribution for today, Berlioz “Symphonie Fantastique” aka probably the creepiest piece of classical music that has ever existed. And thank you so much, @franzliszt-official for giving us this opportunity.
So, here’s our plot summary:
We really always wanted to write something about this masterpiece of brainf***, but unfortunately we didn't have the right idea - and you see: With a gun to your head, even the muse must speed up. Let’s see how far we can go with this. The plot of the symphony - just like the story before and after it - is so obscure that it has become a kind of running gag for us. Life (and art) can't write better stories. Never ever. And before I tell you the whole story, if you don't know it yet: there's a wonderful YouTube video with a short summary that I highly recommend you watch (the whole channel is amazing!!!). WTF, Berlioz, really, WTF.
youtube
Oh well, it's still about Liszt. Liszt was a huge fan (Really, Franz. I love you, but why? WHY?) of this symphony, just like Wagner (but nobody here give a shit about Richard‘s opinion anyway) Franz may not have been directly involved in the creation of the “Symphonie Fantastique”, but his piano transcription and his interpretations made a significant contribution to this work becoming one of the most important works of Romantic music. Liszt made it accessible to a wider audience, interpreted it and developed it further, thus having a lasting influence on music history.
That's why we originally wanted to deal with the “Dies Irae” theme, but let's be honest… everything stinks against the main story.
And then there is the “Idée fixe”, the central theme of Berlioz's symphony, the beloved, who appears again and again musically as a motif and ultimately drives him mad. You could also apply this to the Maidchen. Fun fact: 97% of all our lyrics have a hidden hint to Franz. Sometimes so well that Lacelove doesn't even notice ;) Whoever finds them all: Get in touch. You'll get an exclusive shirt and your own song written. I promise.
Oh, dearest, dearest love, you surely will never know that I’m gonna write to you A symphony of love in just one night Oh, dearest, dearest love, I only dream of you and in my longing I wish you were here Oh, dearest, dearest love, Where have you gone? You dance with a hundred others You erase me from your mind Oh, dearest, dearest love, Fate is not fair My sky, full of violins But my heart, it's so heavy So heavy I try to forget you On noble pastures The shepherds who soothed me Make their songs known But then I see you before me With a smile like a sword You belong to someone else now You're...not worth it That's why I'm whistling opium now And will just kill you. DIEEEE! DIIEEEEE! OH GOD! JUST DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE God alone knows, I will be judged for everything I have done and none of the heavenly angels will weep at my grave And so I see your face One last time before my face Oh, dearest, dearest love Why don't you save me? Oh, dearest, dearest love then it comes back to me You spawn of hell You are the queen of the witches. ORGIES! DAMN ORGIEEEEEEES! OH GOD! ORRRRRGIIIIIESSSS! Oh, dearest, dearest dearest, will you be angry with me? I invite you on the day of the premiere To find out Oh, dearest, dearest love then you'll be my wife Otherwise I'll threaten you with my own s*i*ide You know that very well IF YOU DON'T MARRY ME, I'LL K*** MYSELF! I'LL K**** MYSELF! AND IT'S YOUR FAULT!!!!! YAAAAAAAAA! And then, she actually married him.

I finally watched Swedish Christ Superstar
Remember how I did a whole deep dive into the 2018 one? Yeah well, I was gonna try to do that with this version, but it is so unbelievably, completely, utterly, insanely unhinged that I just had to have my post about it match the energy. So without further ado, here are my literal first reaction notes to Jesus Christ Superstar (2014 Swedish Arena Tour).
Overture-
• Ooh the stuttering guitar is so metal
• Love the outfits, give me more apocalyptic leather headbanging nonsense
• Love how the choreo goes with the music rather than pure immediate chaos
• Admittedly the orchestra could be a bit better, but not terrible
• The shopping cart is my favorite character
• This feels almost interpretive
• Ok. Jesus is hot
• Draculacore
• Is he orgasming?
• I think that's an appropriate tone to be set
• I will say, I like productions with more color, but I see the style they're going for and I don't dislike it
Heaven on their minds-
• I like how they translated the lyrics to sound good in Swedish
• Also gives extra context and connotation to the words
• Love judas' mesh top!
• Really good singer wow
• This is how the song is supposed to be sung!!!
• I like boys with long hair hehehehe
• Symbolic that jesus is sleeping while judas is trying to get him to listen. Shows how closed off and resigned to his fate he was
• And also how no matter how hard judas tried he would never really be heard
• Painted nails!
• The subtitles said fuck? Lol
• I seriously love this guy's voice
• Oh my god they're so boyfriends
What's the buzz/Strange thing mystifying-
• Jesus is serving so much cunt
• So. Much. Touching.
• AHAHAHAHAGSVSBAZHDVWH THEYRE SO BOYFRIENDS HWWGGA
• Yes Maria feed him that orange
• "A man like him" you mean... 💅?
Everythings alright-
• I really like Mary's voice and look
• Mommy vibes fs
• He's in the shopping cart hhahahaha
• The masculine urge to sleep in a shopping cart while wearing shades
This jesus must die-
• Caiaphas sounds like a toad LMAO
• "It's seduction! It's blasphemy!" -Christians watching this 😭
• Caiaphas saying "STOP" such a jumpscare
• They kept the jesus is cool line and for that this is now one of my favorite productions
• AND THEY SAID IT TWICE AM I IN HEAVEN??
• Well I won't be after watching this 😌
• Caiaphas has a pretty cool voice ngl, my timbers are shivered
• HELIKOPTER 🚁 HELIKOPTER 🚁
Hosanna-
• A bit faster rendition that's neat
• Interesting how judas is participating in the fray
• It's so nice to see his character happy for once though
• The jesus balloons are killing me
Simon zealotes/poor jerusalem-
• Ooh it's a fight
• The ladies are sangin and dancin 💃
• THEY SAID FUCK AGAIN
• Well okay I'm just gonna give up on the notion that this play will be family appropriate in any manner, it's better that way anyway
• Pretty cool how the choreo is militaristic, as well as the costuming
• They way Simon is pronounced 😃
• I am unilingual my brain is incapable of not making a joke about that
• Jesus your nail polish is chipping baby fix that
Pilates dream-
• Love pilates robe, very pretty
• Ok but the sparkly suit is better
The temple-
• Fuck counter: 3
• They have a bit more speaking in this version which I really don't mind
• The lyrics make it really clear how the crowds used their connection to God to justify their actions, an issue which is still prevalent today
• Annas shaking that tail go off
• Jesus jumpscare
• He called it "A whorehouse" 💀
• The beggars all have little hand lights, that creates a really cool effect
• Wow the music got really fast
I don't know how to love him-
• Yayy Mary hi Mary hi 😍🥰👋
• Da smoochy???
• Judas ain't gonna be happy bout this
• Her voice is so good!!
• Interesting how jesus is awake for this
• ITS JUDAS HE'S PEEKING
• Uh oh
Damned for all time/blood money-
• OH NO
• MY BOY GOT SLAPPED
• HE JUST WANTED A SMOOCH
• Ok now it just feels like he's betraying him cause he got rejected 😭
• Annas is such a little shit oh my god
• He's giving Draco Malfoy vibes somehow
The last supper-
• Act 2 baby here we go
• Okay so he's dragging them to absolute hell, love that for you jesus
• The girls are FIGHTING!
• "Tell us what happened to the good vibes" I'm loving this translation
• Judas actor once again killing it, he has a really lovely rock voice
• The apostles throwing shade at judas and planning to blame him in the gospels 😙🤌
• This shit crazy
Gethsemane-
• Ok I'm gonna try to be serious for this once
• So far pretty good
• The lyrics are hitting the important parts of the song I feel
• HE GOT THE NOTE!
• Pretty damn good
• My bias still lies with Neeley but that wasn't gonna change really
• I like how he made the g5 actually part of the song rather than separating it. This whole performance is actually very natural and easy to watch
• The last verse goes so incredibly hard
• *rips shirt open*
• 👌
The arrest-
• Here it is the kiss
• Here we go
• Literally the only part of this play I'd seen before
• Okay that's just. So romantic. JESUS kissed JUDAS! What a twist!
• "Why did you date a whore" goddamn
Peter's denial-
• Annas is basically the main character he's in so many songs
Pilate and christ-
• "Yeah we know you're 'hot'" I mean 😏
• Fuck counter: 4
• My notes are seriously lacking I apologize
King herods song-
• Herod is me I am Herod
• Me in my robe on a Monday morning imposing judgement onto others:
• Did they just use a slide whistle?
• Goofy ahh sound effects 💀
• "Fine I'll do it myself- look, no hands 😚"
• He's my favorite
• Herod being silly and goofy:🤪
• Jesus: 😐
• Loved that
Could we start again please-
• Fuck counter: 5
• Not the song I expected it to be in tbh
• Maybe it doesn't hold the same weight in Sweden
• "How are we going to explain it so it looks good on paper?" This is a new angle that is actually really interesting, and reminds me that the Bible is pretty much ancient RPF
• Yay they included the ensemble
Judas death-
• "For one measly kiss" I'd call that kiss a lot of things but measly does not come to mind
• He is talking to jesus instead of christ
• Something tells me this production is not very religious 🤔
• Which I am very ok with
• He's goin through it
• He's got the rock screams going on 🤘love it
• RIP Judas, too gay to live 😔
Trial before pilate-
• He called Jesus a clown, bitch this isn't Godspell
• Ouchie
• That's a lot of blood
• It's easy to overact in the role of pilate and this guy isn't doing that, which is good
Superstar-
• I prefer when Judas is wearing white in this song, but the glittery red robe kinda slays ngl
• And once again judas is a pretty boy
• They kept the "jesus christ, Jesus christ, who are you what have you sacrificed" line in English
• Oop the robe is off
• Get those dance moves judas damn
• This is insane
• What is happening
• Why am I turned on
John 19:41-
• Ooh this is rather scary
• The way its literally just him on stage suffering is pretty intense
• IT IS FINISHED
Hope you enjoyed sluts
