You will get there superstar. You will be such a lovely person, you already are. It's inside of you, it's in your heart okay? Just trust yourself. Trust your Intuition. If you do you will be the person you want to be. Use manipulation. Yeah, yeah, you are not that kind of person, but manipulation isn't always dark. You can use it so people are better, so they are kind, so they shift to see a new fresh more educated perspective on the situation. Don't judge things for what they appear to be, judge them for what they are at their core. Please don't forget that. With this same mindset, don't judge yourself for what you appear to be, judge yourself for what you really are. An intelligent, mind-young, beautiful soul. If you are anxious but that little voice at the back of your head is telling you to be confident and asking what are you scared for is bothering you, LISTEN TO THAT VOICE!!! It might cause situations that are not pleasant for people that aren't like minded, but it's okay. You will be so free and so confident after that. Look at it as a door that allows you to take a step forward to who you really are. Strong and confident. It's you. You are waiting at the other side of that door. Don't allow anyone to pull you back and scare you away from all that potential. Please be yourself. It's scary, but the end results are waiting for you. It will be worth it, I pinky promise.

I do think you will be a much more peaceful person in a few months than you would think. you will find more inner peace instead of continously being mad at yourself and at anyone. you will do some heavy self reflection and talk with your inner self, people around you will start liking you more. on another note, i do think you will also have some new hobbies, that will allow you to explore yourself more and feel alive again. your clothing style might also change, i am seeing a lot of beige being added to your closet. Yeah yeah, I know! You really like dark clothes, black clothes. They won't disappear from your closet. You will just add basic invidual pieces that will make you feel more alive and peaceful than you would think you could get. you remind me of the phoenix, being reborn elegantly. a beautiful soul who suffered and became their best self.

so, i feel like you are quite a foolish person right now. are you young? you have a young and reckless energy, someone that is irresponsible and likes to party, someone that hates to be ordered around and doesn't really care when people want to teach them things. one ear in, one ear out. sorry, but that's just how it is, no matter how hard it is to hear. you think the world revolves around you and don't really care about others, you are quite moody and arrogant too, and don't like being confronted because you constantly think everyone is against you and they will never understand. however, i do think that will change. something will trigger this, not necessarily something tragic, but something big will change in your life. possibly related to love or your parents. i don't think you will loose your spark, but you will be much more emotionally and socially intelligent. you will look at it as a sad situation, but you will be kind of numb to it. i feel like this will make you question yourself and the way you view things. there won't be many people helping you, because you wouldn't ask for help, you would have this on your own. you will grow through a major change for sure, be more quite when you think of life too. You might loose some friends, which I am sorry about, but it's for the better. You also might cut your hair, and wear a different clothing style than your usual ones. - for somenof you, this is less revealing clothing. - you will also have a more mother like energy to you! you will be more nurturing and in tune with nature. i do think you will be connected to mother nature, and while you would go outside as much as you normally do, you would try to break free from your routine to be able to see the world from another point of view. you will also be helpful towards little children more? I don't know why, but I am sensing that you will pay attention to kids a lot. Also! You might start a new diary.

Aug 2021 Wk 2

Being a highly subjective assessment of one tiny corner of the interwebs.

Ongoing Series - Thai

This was the week of visitors from the past: The Yearbook got Mean & Prem, and Love Area got Jeff. Always nice to se familiar faces.

Golden Blood Ep 8 fin - cute ending to a series that was a whole lot softer than we had a right to expect (also higher heat), plus some light punching. So many tropes: pinky promise, ground lie, hair dry, kitchen romance, boyfriend claiming x2, boop, back hug with a striped shirt combo. (full review here) RECOMMENDED!

Love Area Ep 3 - (no subs) if this is a love triangle, I am now entirely in the 2nd leads camp (the cute pre-med across the hall) I loathe a slovenly character. Although I love a good guy uke who still knows how to protect himself and say no. Meanwhile Jeff Satur showed up looking very suave. Hooray! I think this show is good but dialogue is getting too complex for me to follow without subs. (Although I did catch that the play within a play is using “ter” which always makes me happy.)

The Yearbook Ep 5 - nothing is changing my mind that this is ITSAY meets Fault is in Our Stars. At least we finally know why they’re so devoted to one another. Plus we got the trope of passing the familial obligation of care, been a while since I’ve seen that one. And yes I did tear up. I’ve explained before: self = BIG FAT SAP.

Top Secret Together Ep 14 - (no subs) lots of EakPhob to start, my least favorite story arc, plus I have terrible second lead syndrome for the cutie younger seme. But then a ton of my two being THE CUTEST BOYFRIENDS EVAH. Look at them communicating and talking about their feelings! Yeah! Nothing from the other couples. Definitely getting Gen Y unevenness from this one.

Don’t Say No Ep 2 - I’m starting to enjoy it for the delightful shitshow it isn’t (although still kinda is). We got us an out pansexual slut character and a hilarious scene with a prostate wand. So I’m all in and disposed to enjoy myself. Honestly, with a pansexual and a prostate wand, who wouldn’t be? “Hilarious encounters with pansexuals & prostate wands” is the subtitle of my tell-all autobiography. Just FYI.

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

Light On Me (Korea) Ep 13-14 - TaeKyung & ShinWoo = most terrifyingly awkward and cringe-inducing first date ever? I think so. Despite this, the frenetic love triangle persists. How will this resolve in only two eps? Also sassy TaeKyung is the BEST TaeKyung.

Given (Japan) Ep 4 - it’s still quite good and moving along a pace. I’m so glad we’re getting quality old school live action yaoi from Japan. Makes me nostalgic.

Hear ye hear ye! Taiwan has a new BL movie coming called Light (from GagaooLala). It is a dark high heat movie about an undercover cop and a sex worker with themes of ownership and abuse. My Drama Listing has a good full description. Trailer & Teaser (watch both, they different)

Meanwhile, I unearthed very old news that Korea’s Color Rush (my favorite BL this year, seriously, nothing will beat this one for me) is, apparently, actually getting a second season. Which means that stinger at the end of Viki’s movie version is for realz.

(I actually don’t think we need more but I’m disposed to be pleased and confident in Korea.)

GL-based drama Couple of Mirrors is supposed to start airing. Read that ��based” carefully, this looks to be censored GL. So not a bromance a... baimance? Babemance? humm erm ooo oh oh!

The thing about being a creature of the sea is that you instinctively know your own. So Stede knows that Ed, for all his expert handling of himself and his crew, can't call the ocean home the way Stede does. He might still not be human, but that wouldn't be a magic Stede's blood sings with or recognizes.

🎨 MLP Art Blogs

@cassettepony - Such a unique art style. Cannot stress enough how unique her art style is! It's very stylistic and the colors are POPPIN- they're so saturated and pretty! Her art reminds me of jolly ranchers,, I also absolutely love the exaggerated expressions and how she draws EYES (when the corner of the mouth slightly clips over the bottom of the eye.........immaculate) + She does something really special that I never see any other pony artists doing, which is giving the ponies little chin hairs or 5 o'clock shadows (I. i don't know what it's called please forgive me). It is so special and cool to see, and it's so recognizable! I ADORE Cassettes art and I've always been too shy to say hi so uhhh. Hi! 👋

@msponies - ponies drawn in mspaint. HIGH QUALITY posts here. I am so inspired by their use of colors- the RANGE in some of these posts is crazy. Some of these drawings have such extremely unique color combos that you wouldn't think would work so well together, but msponies is just a master at using a color palette to its full potential its actually crazy! Their Trixie drawings are some of the best, and I cant help but admire how bold their backgrounds are (yea I know that kinda goes hand in hand with the whole color palette thing but i just really like their art); the bold colors and the dark outlines are so scrumptious

@celebrationcastle - They don't update extremely often, but when they do, you kno its gonna be a top tier post. They have a very flexible artstyle, and they post fanart for every generation. They were the ones who made that Valentines Pinkie Pie design that popped off a while ago, and for good reason; they are extremely good at drawing and designing. Like, they've completely mastered the artstyle of g3 and g4 (and probably every other gen. its nuts), and their g5 fanarts art probably my favorite I've ever seen (sunny starscout, my beloved). Everything they post is a banger. Their blog is just such a big inspiration to me :,)

📖 General MLP Blogs

@yodawgiheardyoulikeponies - absolute FAVORITE pony collecting blog. OP is SO sweet and her collection is AMAZING! I absolutely adore her photos and her posts, and her enthusiasm about collecting is so infectious. The positive energy on her blog is absolutely pure sugar, and I just really cannot stress enough how much effort she puts into her posts. She makes little pony photo shoots! And makes little stories out of them!!! It's so fun to just sit and read through. I always check her blog after new merch is released just because it's it's interesting to read about a Pony Veteran giving their input on modern toys. 1000/10 I love this blog

@ahorseofeverycolor - I only have notifications on for like. 5 or 6 blogs? And this is definitely one of them. They regularly post about ponies and horses (okay, they mostly focus on Breyers, but thats not a negative to me at all- I got my first Breyer the other day BECAUSE of this blog, lol), and their blog is just so clean and organized! They post about so many different kinds of ponies, whether it be comparing flat-footed release to concave foot releases, or custom ponies they made themselves, or just really cool pony finds that aren't necessarily obtainable (prototypes, special custom ponies commissioned by hasbro by professional artists, etc) but are really cool to look at!!! I really like this blog!!!

It's a mix of reblogs and original posts, so it's really my Ideal pony blog; usually when I hear about pony news, it's because he reblogged it! It's a very focused blog, so it's definitely a good one to follow if you need some more horses on your dash! He recently made an edit of Hitch from the new 5 pack to give him brushable hair, which I absolutely love (why did they gotta give him sculpted hair umu) I also like that OP leaves tags on the posts he reblogs! I don't know if it's just me, but I always like a blog more if they add tags with input about the toys and news and things like that. It adds some personality and a Vibe to the blog and I just really like it!!!

These were some mlp next gen designs. They were more of a what if kind of thing. I didn’t actually ship any of these characters, I mainly just wanted to design some next gen characters, some of them were paired together purely for the aesthetic purpose. There’s two different ones for Fluttershy just cause I wanted to design some for her and Discord and the other one I just some nurse pony that I liked the color scheme of. So all of these can be considered AUs separate from each other. The orange one is Starlight and Sunburst’s daughter. And the last two were Rainbow Dash and Soren that I did way before all the other ones.

1: I decided to pair Twilight with Star Tracker for this because I think their color schemes looks nice together. The oldest is an alicorn but he has trouble learning and controlling his magic. He is quiet and is stressed out a lot. He feels like he has a lot to live up to because of who his mom is. He is worried he will disappoint everyone. He is smart but doesn't like to learn and study. He doesn't like to be in crowds, and is a bit shy. His cutie mark is a moon and stars. The youngest loves to read and study science, her eyesight is bad because she spends so much time reading. She loves books as much as her mom. She wants to be a great hero like her mom, and is a bit jealous of her brother because he's an alicorn and she's not. Her magic is not as powerful as an alicorn but is a bit stronger than a regular unicorn. She has a secret love of comic books, and wants to be a superhero. Her cutie mark is a sun.

2: I paired Rarity with the spa pony guy for this just because I like his design. And Rarity does go to the spa a lot, so I can say that's where she met him. I don't really care too much about shipping. I just really wanted to design some next gen kids, I will probably do some for the other main six too. I'm going to be pairing them based on what colors look good together not by who I ship them with. So this isn't about shipping, I just like to design ponies. I won't be pairing any of the main six together or put them with other mares because it wouldn't be possible for them to have kids. I know some people design kids for mare couples anyways, but I'm just going to pair them with a stallion instead. So, yeah, this is just for fun, don't take who I pair them with too seriously. I also didn't pair her with Spike for this, because it just seems wrong. I really don't like the ship at all because I'm pretty sure Rarity is an adult and Spike is a child. He is referred to as a baby dragon. I don't have names for the kids, I'm terrible at naming. The youngest has a grumpy personality. She spent way to much time around Opalescence growing up and the cat's personality rubbed off on her a bit. She is sarcastic and likes to think she's smart. She doesn't have many friends because she is not very pleasant to be around. But she will eventually make some friends and her personality will change for the better because of them. The oldest is very dramatic and kinda smug. He likes to be the center of attention. He likes acting and has stared in many plays. He acts confident but is actually a bit insecure. He likes to star in plays that will entertain other ponies and make them happy. His cutie mark is a shining gemstone.

3: I decided to Rainbow Dash with Thunderlane for this because I thought a rainbow mane with a black coat would look cool. The oldest has a pretty chill personality. She loves to fly through clouds and watch sunsets. She's cheerful and loves to have fun. Her cutie mark is a heart shaped cloud. The other two are twins. The girl with the blue coat is older by a bit. I gave her the color scheme of Rainbow Dash Destroyer of Pies, because I thought it would be funny and it looks cool. Her cutie mark is a flying cloud and rainbow lightning bolt. She has sort of an extreme personality, she likes to go fast and is a bit of a dare devil. She wants to be as cool as her mom. She wants to be able to do a sonic rainboom but is frustrated because she hasn't been able to. The youngest acts a lot like his twin sister, and most ponies think they have the same personality, but he mostly just tries to be like her because he looks up to her and she is his best friend. He likes to spend time relaxing and reading. He enjoys racing for fun but doesn't really care if he wins or not. His cutie mark is a rainbow tornado. The twins find out later that they can make a sonic rainboom if they fly fast together.

4: Next gen Pinkie Pie kids I designed for fun. I decided to pair her with Party Favor for this just because they look nice together. For the kids I wanted to be reverse of Pinkie's family, with three kids more like Pinkie and one like her sisters. I don't have names for any of them. The youngest likes to fix hair, she did Pinkie's hair for this pic. She is kind of a creepy kid. Often appears out of nowhere. She doesn't say much, but when she does it's always something weird. Her coat color is similar to Pinkie's mother's. The second youngest has a kazoo cutie mark. He likes to sing, dance, pretend, and KAZOO! His personality is basically that kazoo kid, www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRpdIr… He eventually starts a Kazoo cult. The purple one has a gloomy personality, she takes after Pinkie Pie's family, she likes rocks. She is interested in the magical properties of rocks and gemstones. Her cutie mark is a gemstone and sparkles. She studies magic and rocks. When she was younger her Aunt Maud was teaching her about rocks and mentioned that with the right stone one could rule all of Equestria, she has secretly been trying to find the right stone. For her colors I just combined, Pinkie's and Party Favor's, I usually don't like to do that because the colors end up not looking anything like the parent's or family member's, but here the colors looked similar to Maud or other members of Pinkie's family so I used them. The haven't really come up with much of a personality for the oldest, I guess he likes to party. His cutie mark is a slice of pie. 5: Fluttershy and Nurse Pony. I don't have a name for her son, the daughter's name is Blossom. I just chose the stallion sort of randomly, I thought their colors looked nice together I might make a different alternate universe Fluttershy family with her and Discord. Blossom is a cheerful pony, she loves nature, and loves to grow flowers and plants. Her cutie mark is a flower blossom. She likes to grow flowers that attract animals. I haven't really thought up much more for her personality. The foal is a bit shy, he has trouble speaking to other ponies. He is kind of secretive and spends a lot of time alone. His cutie mark is three ghosts because he is often invisible to others because of his shy personality and because he secretly practices necromancy.

6: Applejack. I literally just chose this stallion to pair with her because I think the colors look nice together. I have no idea what his name is, I don't think he even has one. This isn't about shipping, I just wanted to design some next gen kids, so I chose the stallion based on the colors. I don't have names for either of the kids. The youngest wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up. She loves the animals on her mom's farm and wants to be able to care for them when they are sick or injured. She is calm most of the time and very patient. The older one's cutie mark is an apple, orange, and grapes. She wants to grow and sell lots of different fruits. She is also interested in tree grafting, she wants to be able to graft different fruit trees together. (I'm going to say it's possible to make a tree with more than one type of fruit in mlp because magic) 7: Big Mac. I haven't come up with cutie marks for the younger two. The oldest has sort of a tomboyish personality. She loves the outdoors, animals, and running through mud puddles. Her cutie mark is an pie and an apple slice. She is good a making desserts with apples. The middle child, is calm and doesn't talk much. She is not shy, she just doesn't like to say much. She prefers to listen to what others have to say. The youngest has a personality similar to his mother Sugar Belle, he's very sweet and likes to help others. He loves helping his mother cook desserts. I used the color of Granny Smith's coat for the youngest, and the color of Big Mac's father and Apple Bloom for the oldest. The oldest one has the same color eyes as Big Mac's mother.

Skyverse Next Next Gen Headcanons Part 3

Lance, Angeline and Ariel (Judas x Angel):

Lance-Protective older brother who’s bonded with his Uncle Landon over their shared love of music and the punk aesthetic.

Angeline-Always causing trouble and getting into mischief. Even though they’re a good few years apart, Angeline and Astrid (Sky x Nora kid) are best friends. She brings out the usually shy princess’ more rebellious side.

Ariel-Quiet girl that likes cooking for her family.

Levi the Melancholy (Luna x Stefan):

Emo boy who has gotten into quite the adventures with his buddy Phoenix. (Ashton x Cole kid)

Mars the Knowledgeable (Sunny x Damien):

Nerd that loves studying his family's history, plus demon and Butterfly magic.

Atlas the Navigator (Sky x Nora x Melanie):

An explorer that’s always looking for the next big adventure to find, dimension/universe to travel to, or mystery to solve. (Kinda feel like shipping him with Pheonix, tbh. I can also imagine him teaming up with Phoenix, Levi and Mars to become an adventure seeking, Ducktales like group.)

Adrian, Belle and Ashley (Judas x Nora x Angel):

Adrian-Was inspired by Sky to create his own outfits. He uses his spider silk to get the job done faster.

Belle-Lyra’s (Sky x Melanie kid) bookworm friend that helps her mom out with her medical work.

Ashley-Has a go with the flow attitude that reminds her Grandpa Marco of Jackie.

Alegra (Damien x Miguel):

Has dreams of being a performer one day. She practically sees Sunny as her mother as well as her acting coach.

Hal the Neurotic (Galexia x Nicole):

Is terrified of everything, including germs. His parents try to be patient with him, but there’s only so much they can do to help him get over it.

Perseus the Sea King and Dia the Joyful (Sunny x Miguel x Damien):

Perseus-Loves nothing more than to watch the ocean waves whenever he gets anxious.

Dia-Pinkie Pie if she were a sugar junkie.

Astra the Spider Queen and Abbi the Lovestruck (Sky x Nora x Angel):

Astra-Has an odd interest in spiders, and not just her dad’s species.

Abbi-A hopeless romantic sweetheart.

Draco the Cultured and Altair the Actor (Sky x Judas x Angel):

Draco-Likes to learn about other worlds and cultures.

Altair-Has an uncanny flair for the dramatic.

Mandi, Azzi and Anne (Landon x Bernard):

Mandi-An Earth born emo in every sense of the word. Keeps to herself and feels like she’s not really part of the family due to being adopted.

Azzi-The complete opposite of Mandi. Even when she’s being bullied for being Septarian, she still has a smile on her face.

Anne-Essentally has both Mandi and Azzi's personalities. She's into the goth look, but is pretty upbeat. (For some reason I can see her being genderfluid like Samson)

8. Do they have any piercings/tattoos? For all 3!

Sisi has a ton of piercings, mostly on her ears. I wrote them all somewhere but I forgot. She has a rook piercing and several lobe piercings for sure. She has her septum pierced, but she hardly ever wears a ring (a spacer or just nothing... it never closes up for some reason) And she had her belly button pierced when she was a kid but it got infected and she had to take it out. Shuhei ends up repiercing it :) In canon, she has a matching tattoo with Asra (it’s the moon) but I still have decided where. In fanon, she gets her sister’s name tattooed under her left breast. She also has matching tattoos with Thomas and Shuhei.

Shuhei has a ton of piercings too, cuz in Orasan culture it’s common and traditional. He has all the same ones as Sisi, but no nose ring. He got his nipples pierced by his best friend in school, and I will literally never stop talking about that. Man has a small finger tattoo on the side of his right middle finger that says ‘honour’ in Kyoh. He also has one on his right pinky that says ‘together’ (He got it on annual holiday one year in a dive in Kawabata with his best friend) He later gets yet another finger tattoo that says “love” in honour of his babe, Isabella Zieragh.

Yumi has soooo many piercings. Mostly on the ears, he has a ton of cartilage piercings because he knows how to pierce himself. He has a nose stud. HE PIERCED SHUHEI’S NIPPLES, and later that year just decided to pierce his own so they could match. He has an eyebrow piercing and he did Gen’s while they were kids. He may or may not have a tongue piercing :) Yumi has the same finger tattoo as Shuhei, but on his left pinky. He also has a peacock tattoo on his right shoulderblade bc he likes peacocks and he really feels like they embody beauty. And he has little orange koi fish on his left wrist. He has a red dash on the back of his neck that represents the place his dad said he’d use a sword to kill him. Just to spite him. Yumi likes tattoos and plans to get more.

Birthstone Legacy P.3

Welcome back all.

Last time, I left ya’ll off with Azalea and Gregory got engaged just after their daughter, Aelia, was born. I was planning a long engagement, because I wanted Aelia to be part of it, and also I wanted it to be when they moved into their own house.

Gregory was from Newcrest, and on his and Azalea’s first date/hang-out, they went to Woohoo Park (a park I made a year and a half ago, and put it in all my challenge games because it has places to sleep, shower, eat, paint, etc. while also being a fun. Anyway, Woohoo park always sits in the largest lot in Newcrest in my play-throughs). He pushed her on the swing set, and they flirted as it began to snow. It was where they realized they had feelings for each other, so I thought it was fitting that they’d eventually move to Newcrest, and when they did, they’d get married.

Although, until then, they decided to live in Azalea’s apartment in San Myshuno. ... Which is very haunted. .... We’ll get to that later.

I also said last time, they were going to get a puppy. MCC caused one of my sim families to be overrun with puppies. So I had to divy them up amongst the other townies. But I also thought it was a perfect opportunity for them to get their own puppy.

Sadly, while I was fixing my townies (the mcc algorithm can screw some things up, so I had to marry some townies off, which took some time), my puppy aged up to an adult.

Meet Meryl:

I didn’t want to alter her coloring, but to match the Pink gen, I gave her a pink handkerchief. I also got her fixed. Her two sisters, Cleo and Molly are not fixed. So, there might be more puppies further on. Who knows.

Shortly after taking this photo, I was informed that Aelia’s birthday was the next day, which of course made me remember that I have my lifespans on normal. So, Aelia was only supposed to be a baby for 2-3 days.

So, I had Azalea and Gregory grind for 2 days, trying to make sure their work performance was maxed out for promotion. Which they were on Aelia’s birthday. Now they are both at level 4 in their careers. I also had Azalea work on her charisma, so now she only needs 1 charisma skill point to achieve part 3 of the Friend to the World aspiration.

I thought best option to prep for reselling the apartment (ie, getting more money out of it) was to add a second bedroom. Plus, Aelia needed it, since I wasn’t sure I’d get them to move before Aelia became a kid.

I also added a closet, because Azalea kept having whims to make-out with Gregory.

Aelia’s room has the pink floors as the rest of the apartment, but the walls were yellow with yellow flower paintings and wall-art. The rug was yellow with pink and purple designs in it. The bed, bookcase, toybox, toilet, and dresser were yellow and orange.

I also had to put in a new dog bed and toybox for Meryl. I originally forgot a bowl, but I did put one in later.

And ... Oh? There’s a ghost?

Yeah. Dead Mr. Kim decided to comment on Azalea’s SimCity game. Don’t you just hate it when some dead stranger tells you how to play your game?

This wasn’t the first haunting Gregory and Azalea suffered through living here. More like 4th. And never the same ghostie either. They hated that. I have a feeling it was something they talked about regularly.

It was around this time I realized it was Aelia’s birthday, and she still hadn’t aged up yet. So I got Azalea to age her up.

Since she’s the Citrine generation, her color is yellow, so she’s in all yellow, and she has blonde hair, which I imagine she inherited from her dad, who’s ashy-blonde. Although, she inherited her mother’s eye-color, which is really multicolored. It goes from gold to pinky-brown to blue. So, I decided she’d keep the eye-color.

She’s just adorable. I mean, just look:

Look at them playing. That is peak adorable.

But, of course this could not last. 2 nights into Toddlerhood, the ghosties struck again, and this time caused Aelia to have a nightmare and woke her up, terrifying her. She immediately went running to her dad, who looked about ready to throw down with a ghost.

If we know anything about Gregory since the last part, he is fiercely protective of his family and loved ones. So, a ghostie deciding to scare his precious little girl. Yeah, he was done.

He had a long conversation with Azalea about it, convincing her it was time to move. They had both been promoted, had been saving up, and had an extra $2000 in the bank, which was when Azalea corrected him. $985. See, a charity called her earlier that afternoon asking for a donation, and being the ultimate humanitarian sim, she had to donate $1000. (I think I’m going to add that rule to this. It just makes sense for that gen, and the only reason it was left out is because I’d never had that pop-up before, so was not aware of its existence.)

He agreed to one more day, trying to raise the cash back up to move, but it was imperative they must.

And they did just that. Azalea gave a speech at work, and earned an enemy in the Llama Rights Group, but she got a bonus for the day, so when they returned from work, they had $1900. So, they moved.

And once they bought their land, first order of business was to get married.

That is the look of love right there.

Everyone important was there. The ceremony was a success.

I really wish I could have this screenshot framed in their house, because it’s perfect. Any suggestions on how to do that without having to create cc, let me know.

Sadly, once I got the moving process started, I realized you do not get the money out of the apartment, just the furniture. I sold a few things (I didn’t want the counters from the apartment. So, currently, their new house just looks like this:

After doing some digging and frog-gigging, I did raise enough money for some windows. I’ll take a another photo when it’s finally done, layout and all. But, it’s functional enough for them to live there. It has a kitchen, dining area, sunken living-room, bathroom, and 2 furnished bedrooms. They’ll have to work another week for this to get up to snuff, and the final product will be beautiful when I’m done.

So, now that the house is up, they will be adopting their two kids shortly, and as soon as Aelia ages up, they’ll do their family volunteering. I can also get the Rose garden started next time. What else?

Goals:

-Complete the Politician career as a Charity Organizer.

-Complete Friend to the World aspiration.

-Adopt 2 kids (Do not have to be legacy continuation).

-Max out friendship/be best friends with 4 sims before becoming an Adult. The friendship must be maintained throughout life.

-Have a rose garden.

-Write 5 Children’s books.

-Volunteer with family 5 times.

*If you get the pop-up asking to donate to charity, you must if you have the money.

Oh, she’s almost done with Book 2. We’re making good headway, and I’ll be striking goals off the list shortly.

just my side DA where i post their profiles and stuff and its still not 100% filled out because iv been slowly working through my old next gen and revamping it but jh struggling because im changing designs and ships and struggling to pick pairings or whatever lol

heres Majesty! one of Rarity twins!

iv talked about her brother vanity already but shes the more ‘important’ sibling

She and Vanity were best friends growing up, she never realized Vanity had made up this ‘competition’ in his head over who was the best sibling. Unluckily for Majesty she often fell into these schemes due to her competitive nature. she is a people pleaser, especially to her mom. she will do whatever she can to get her approval and often is the winner of the praise.

Rarity loves her kids equally and always made sure Vanity wasn’t left out, but this didn’t stop vanity from seeing Majesty’s victories and accomplishments. she was friendly and talented and had many friends.

shes dear and very close friends with pinkie and Aj’s kid Splat. despite her composed lady like nature shes also good friends with Luna’s trouble making kids Loser weep and Finders keeper. she is also close to she very nice and keeps in touch with Vanity’s only friend Cloudleap. which this annoys Vanity a good bit.

Majesty graduated from school early, annoying Vanity who was having to take summer classes. She is currently a Jeweler in Cantorlot having opened her own store there at a young age of 22, Annoying Vanity the kid who is still living with mom. And now she has been named an a Chapter of Now (the new element of harmony) being named the Chapter of Devotion, the nail in the coffin that is Vanity’s ego.

she in almost every way has followed in her mothers hoof steps and at the same time is making her own mark and name on the world.

Majesty is a good person and tries her best to be there for others. but often at a fault ends up not being able to see all the sides to how others are feeling. such as not seeing her brothers jealously. she tends to look at the positive side of things to a fault where she blind sights herself.

fun random fact of her character

Once while spending the night at her friend Bunny Hop’s and Twinkle Wish house (Trixie and Starlights kids) she got gum stuck in her hair and the kids and trixie in a panicked tried to cut it out themselves, failed miserably and gave majesty a terrible hair cut.

Majesty has had a fear of cutting her hair since and has gone to only get 3 people cut her hair: her hair stylist Coco Butter, friend and fellow element Voyage, and her mother Rarity

The first comic: Maturity or rather the lack thereoff.

Something I commonly saw within the last decade was people arguing that animation has reached a new peak by the amount of quality in storywriting put into them and some even claiming cartoons have become more mature, particularly compared to shows of the 80s and 90s. Dobson too joined the trend and as such made this little comic in 2015 titled “Mature”, in which he argues that cartoons for children are more mature and handle serious subjects better than any media tagged with an r-rating or not following the format of animation.

While I admit that the comic is not the most offensive and insulting thing Dobson has ever created when soapboxing about nerd/american culture, I do think “Mature” actually in composes quite a good insight in how Dobson does not understand concepts of storytelling and overhypes the achievements and merits of children entertainment to a degree that is hurting the “cause”. Which greatly annoys me as a fan of storytelling and animation in general and paints Dobson as incompetent in the field of work (cartoonist, comic writer/artist) he tries to engage in. And I can bring this lack of understanding by Dobson down by just one simple question:

What exactly counts as a mature subject here?

Dobson randomly accuses any form of fiction that is not a children’s cartoon or comic to have no idea how to approach a “mature” subject, but he can’t even give an example of what he defines by this term.

See, for me a mature subject is e.g. an social, emotional or political issue we as humans can correlate to in the real world. Either as a result of personal experience or a bigger picture in our history and culture (such as racism, poverty, existential dreed, personal/emotional growth, any form of oppression etc.) Something that does not only drive a story forward as a source of conflict or a character’s backstory/arc for the sake of entertainment, but may even make us think afterwards.

And as much as I like cartoons, I do not think this is something children cartoons do most of the time.

And before I get accused of thinking cartoons are only something for kids or that a thoughtful story can not be told via the medium of animation, let me put a few things into perspective.

Unlike Dobson, I do not have an educational background in animation. However, I grew up with a lot of cartoons, animated movies and comics from all over the world and thanks to the wonders of the internet read up here and there on the different ages of animation and certain tidbits in what went into the making of certain works of fiction and why they may have been a huge thing in the time periods they emerged in.

As such I know that the medium of animation can be used to not only create “child appropriate” content, but also movies like Barefoot Gen, Fritz the Cat, Felidae, Animal Farm and so on, which tackled themes of social issues, political worldviews and personal/historical tragedies.

Then there is the fact, that depending on the culture, there are very different interpretations in what can be considered “child appropriate” in certain parts of the world and therefore what themes a cartoon may tackle. Like how in European children cartoons such as Alfred J. Quack there was a story arc resembling the rise of Adolf Hitler in power, to tell about the heroes of the show working in the underground against an obvious fascist regime. Or how in certain Japanese children shows the subject of death can be rather common, while in American cartoons just mentioning the word “die” seems a red flag to some studio executives. Lastly, a lot of early animation, (particularly western animation) did not even start off as something targeted primarily at children. Animation started off as a technique to tell a story through “moving pictures” and some of the first animated shorts ever had a huge fanbase of adults and children. “Snow White”, Disney’s first animated movie back in 1933 was a technical marvel at the time. A movie we nowadays mostly consider a children’s movie with a slightly dull story compared to other Disney outings, was back then a risk that earned Disney multiple Oscars and was appreciated more by adults than it was by children, despite being based on a fairy tale. A type of story mostly considered “appropriate” for kids.

What I am trying to say is, that I am aware of how not all children cartoons are the same and can vary in terms of “maturity”. Something I think Dobson can’t, because he also can’t see that there is a huge variety of “children” cartoons.

Despite his background and claims to consider animation an art, Dobson has shown a huge lack of knowledge or admiration for shows/movies that do not fit into the specific mold of “western animation primarily targeted for children and airing on american television”.

And that is not a claim I make half-heartedly. I have done research on the guy, I know how he likes to brag when he considers he found a great cartoon or something interesting. So I find it telling that aside of nostalgia for certain 80s and 90s cartoons we all know, Dobson’s recommendations and taste in shows seems to be primarily focused on just the most recent stuff everybody else likes/a very small pool of rather generic shows. I am not saying he should be contrarian on principal and e.g. dislike Gravity Falls, but he lacks initiative to look out for new and old stuff himself.

I in fact remember when he asked twitter first if he should give Wander over Yonder, one of the best cartoons of the last decade, a chance, cause it seemed he was too chicken to have an opinion on his own.

Then again, weirdly enough, Dobson actually tends to be contrarian for the sake of it, till someone he respects or sucks up to tends to have a different opinion on a show/movie. For example, while he acts like Frozen is a great movie franchise and defends the second movie to the point he becomes anti-feministic when a woman has a different opinion than him on it, he actually gave the first movie a terrible review on deviantart back in 2014. Accusing it of “same face syndrome” and a shame to the name of Disney. Obviously that was also before the hashtag #GiveElsaaGirlfriend became popular and he went so far as to hint he thinks an incest ship with Anna was great. And Legend of Korra? According to first deviantart posts by him garbage. Which was an opinion swiftly changed the moment Korrasami became popular in the fandom by season 3.

The point I want to make with this digression is, that there are a lot of past actions by him hinting on the fact that Dobson kinda despises animation, when it does not fit within a very narrow niche of things he likes. Further indicated by his disdain for “adult” animated shows or hostility towards foreign animation, except the occasional movie by Studio Ghibli for example.

Because of this lack of a bigger picture, I do not think Dobson is aware how in terms of story, cartoons can heavily vary. And when it comes to mature subjects, you can’t really engage with them if you lack a story carrying them in turn. Let’s look again at the comic. What cartoon characters do you see in it, when Dobson talks about how he believes children cartoons “treat these (non-defined) mature subjects with FAR more respect than the hardest “dark, grim and gritty” stories”?

Pinkie Pie from My Little Pony, three main characters of Spongebob, Steven Universe, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Blossom from the Powerpuff Girls and Mickey Mouse. You want my opinion on them? None of them are from any cartoons tackling mature subjects in a huge manner.

However, they are from great shows. (Well, everyone but Steven, but I explain that later.)

See, this is where putting cartoons into perspective within the vast history of animation, comes in handy. Cause looking at them it is undeniable that people put effort into these shows. Effort in the animation and the writing in order to create an entertaining product, decent enough that not only little kids can enjoy it as a mindless distraction, but even older people can find merit in it, thanks to characters with decent personality, good humor, world building and even an engaging story. But all of that doesn’t make these shows or any story necessarily tackle a “mature subject”. Sure, the latest incarnation of My little pony was not as saccharine as its predecessor but rather cartoony as a good 90s show, but that doesn’t mean the new version is the Schindler’s List of animation (excuse the hyperbole). Same for the other cartoons, with Dobson also not acknowledging the fact that Spongebob e.g. had quite some dips in quality over the years (and even made pretty awful jokes about serious subjects such as suicide) or that Steven Universe, while tending to tackle mature subjects for its story (like trauma, war, abuse, self esteem issues, racism, rape and homosexuality) has failed multiple times over its run (even back when this comic was made) to treat these subjects not just as plot and drama points, but also with enough respect within the narrative, to the point a lot of former fans of the show turned their back on it, cause they had enough of the issues they could relate to being simplified and resolved in a cookie cutter manner so Rebeca Sugar could tell a whimsical story about gay space rocks and forgiveness.

Let us not even forget the fact, that while there is a huge number of cartoons with decent writing and value to them (and that those were not only created within the last 10 years or so), there is also just a lot of garbage out there that counts as “kids animation”. Cartoons and movies that were written with not a care in the world and at times outright more mean spirited as some of the stuff Dobson likely hates in life action. Are you telling me those toilet humor driven garbage piles of creativity are mature?

The point I try to make is, Dobson’s GENERAL statement that kids cartoons tackle mature subjects better than other form of media, is factually wrong, because a lot of shows don’t even try to be mature in the first place. Which however does not mean, there aren’t attempts made at being mature or tackle a mature subject.

Growing up with cartoons since the 90s, I saw quite a few cartoons once in a while having episodes with themes to them that were surprisingly “dark”, dramatic or related to issues I and other kids could also see and relate to in the real world. Bullying going out of control, eating disorders, school violence (even school shootings), dealing with the passing of a loved one, to name a few basic ones. Gargoyles and Hey Arnold were two very important cartoons for me in that regard, with Gargoyles showing me how dramatic a good action cartoon could be when compared to other action cartoons at the time (like Ninja Turtles) and Hey Arnold episodes like “Helga on the Couch” giving me a rather somber look into what “therapy” looks like closer to reality, while normally being a show with the slice of life adventures of a kid in the big city.

And I do highly appreciate that nowadays there are more cartoons doing ongoing storyarcs and as a result of actually having more drama to them, adding tension and character development to their plots. Things we did not quite have to the degree we have nowadays back then in the average show. But it is debatable if those things are equal to “mature subjects” such as racism, abuse or trauma. Cause at the end of the day, a lot of kids cartoons tend to only scratch the surface of those things in order to flesh out a plot, instead of making the plot about those issues. Which at times is even for the best if you ask me. Cause we should not forget, these shows and movies are made for kids. And because of their age, a lot of kids lack at times the knowledge and experience in life to properly understand the themes and subjects some people may try to convey with their work. Particularly when you want to tackle subjects such as trauma, abuse and war which lets be honest, a lot of people can’t even comprehend in their complexity as adults. So how are kids supposed to comprehend them? One way, in my opinion, is by simplifying them and turning them into part of a narrative instead of the main focus of the narrative. But that in itself doesn’t always work and can have negative consequences in multiple ways. For example by making the story suddenly non engaging, delivering the subject in such a manner that people can get the wrong message of what you are trying to say or (at worst) simplifying it to such a degree, it becomes outright offensive to others.

A good example that comes to my mind for that would be how Captain Planet back in the 90s tried to tackle the subject of AIDS in one episode. On one hand, considering how the disease was a big deal back then but no one openly talked about it, you kinda have to give credit to Captain Planet to tackle it. On the other hand, is a subject such as a deadly disease that back then was barely researched and killed millions, really something you want to tackle on an overly preachy (but considering whose company produced it, also very hypocritical) kids show, where most of the time the solution to a problem was not even grounded in reality? And spoilers, the episode treated AIDS not even as the big deal it was, but as something the villain would exploit to spread a rumor on the ill kid, because that somehow equaled a chance to pollute the world more. Not really mature, if you ask me.

What all of this ranting is boiling down to, is that Dobson failed to make a case for how kids animation is able to tackle mature subjects, by not putting his opinion in the bigger context of what animation is/can be and what he means by the term “mature theme”. All he did was just indirectly soapbox that he thinks every other form of media is incapable of being about a serious issue, in doing so also insulting the art of storytelling in itself by disregarding anything not expressed in funny pictures specifically made for children or manchildren on tumblr who want to act they are the big boys, cause a cartoon horse made them feel sad.

He did so by making a very weak argument, not being able to present it in a manner that was hard to debunk and by drawing a comic in which everything looks surprisingly lifeless and like the least amount of quality and effort (things I argued can make a great cartoon) was put into it.

Which ironically, is the total opposite, of being mature.

And lastly, can’t believe I have to say that, but Dobson, the Pokemon’s name is Butterfree, not Butterfry. Butterfry is what you get when you make a statue of a Futurama character made out of something you put on your bread.
