empire apple is the eldest daughter of applejack and rarity, and the element of loyalty! she is devoutly loyal to her family, spending almost all her time on the farm. she lends her help to anyone who asks, especially if they’re one of her close friends. her and her siblings are bonded through empire, and each of their cutie marks features a quantity of 3, representing themselves and each other (empire has 3 seeds, ambrosia has 3 feathers, and ruby has 3 juice squirts!)

meet nightlight, element of magic ✨

nightlight is the only daughter of starlight glimmer and trixie lulamoon, and also the element of magic.

before she was born, all the princesses came together and decided they needed an heir to take over for celestia and luna once they no longer could perform their duties. they all agreed twilight sparkle and sunset shimmers first child would be that heir, and imbued her with small amounts of their magic while she was still developing. they secretly hoped she would become the element of magic with her heightened powers, but had no idea how the elements worked, nor if they would even pass down. equinox was born, and the only indicator of her magical powers was her horn, already more developed than the rest of her.

a short time later, nightlight was born in a burst of blinding light. she lit up the night, her body shimmering and shining with an unnatural light. her parents were deeply concerned and quickly brought her before twilight to help diagnose their foal. they were shocked when they found out that her magical powers were astronomically high, and the glowing swirls under her fur was actually visible magic bubbling underneath her. her parents were thrilled. something greater than her knew she was supposed to be a powerful unicorn, more powerful than the daughter of an alicorn infused with the magic of 2 more.

nightlight grew up sheltered and controlled, her parents obsessed with the power she could one day harness. nightlight was troubled, wanting to please her parents but not wanting to be their pawn. she never fought back, instead growing anxious and uneasy, especially around new ponies. she was a spectacle, and she hated it. as the element of magic, she still does not like being considered the “leader,” but she has accepted her fate. she only wonders if she’s actually right for the role.

nightlight loves reading and learning, a trait she shares with equinox. she spends almost all her days inside reading. she is not fond of writing, and even more so of the outdoors. she is self conscious of her glowing swirls, but has come to accept them as part of herself. she is the main character of my next gen.

princess moonflower; princess of dreams 🌙

moonflower is the daughter of princess luna and zecora, and the eldest of the zebra twins. she is a kind, gentle, and beautiful mare, who is often found turning your worst nightmares into sweet dreams. she is the princess of dreams, a role she doesnt take lightly. she spends most nights dreamwalking, a trait she inherited from her mother, making sure ponies are sleeping peacefully. she is nocturnal, sleeping all day, every day, so she can be alert at night.

another meadow drawing, this time featuring two more characters from my next gen! read more about ambrosia and bloodmoon below :)

ambrosia is the only son of applejack and rarity, and the element of honesty. he is quiet, articulate, and brutally honest, even when it isnt beneficial for anypony. his special talent is writing, something he absolutely loves doing. he spends most of his days writing in his study, a converted section of the barn on sweet apple acres. he is also in a secret relationship with prince bloodmoon.

prince bloodmoon is the son of princess celestia and king sombra, and the heir to the throne of equestria. prior to his conception, sombra was reformed, and celestia hit it off with him. the pair bonded over feelings of guilt and responsibility, and decided to get married. when bloodmoon was still young, his father unexpectedly ran off, leaving bloodmoon with only questions and fears. he grew up praying to never end up like his father, to be a good ruler, and to not disappoint his mother. he is a stoic yet passionate leader, as ready as he can to take the throne. however, things changed when he met ambrosia.

the two date in secret, bloodmoon not ready to put his sexuality on display for the public, especially since he is seen as one of the “hottest colts around” according to many teen tabloids. ambrosia is not happy about this, considering he is sworn to honesty as his element, but lying by omission has proved useful. he is also head over heals for bloodmoon (head over hooves?) so he does what he can to make him happy.

these two lovebirds are lickity split and starstone! lickity split, aka split, is the daughter of pinkie pie and rainbow dash, and also the devoted girlfriend to starstone the kirin!

starstone first came to ponyville as a young filly, being part of an exchange program to learn more about kirin. quickly, she and split became fast friends, with them bonding over feelings of ostracism, yet hopefulness. they spent many night’s watching the stars together, trying to find wishing stars. starstone was devastated when she had to go back to the kirin village, since she didn’t want to lose her new friend. the adults decided that because their friendship was so strong, that starstone could come back and continue her schooling in ponyville next fall.

summers were long for both split and starstone, both writing each other letters weekly. split begged her parents yearly to let her go to the kirin village in the summer, but it was to no avail. after 3 years of close friendship and closeted feelings, split confessed her feelings to starstone. starstone had felt the same since the beginning, and the two have been together ever since 🩷

1 & 2. fairy lights; nickenamed ‘fae’, she has been my sona and main oc for about 6 years! she is the namesake of my account, and also my ponysona :3 i once had a very specific backstory for fae but have since erased that story; it wasn’t representative of me or what i wanted my ponysona’s life to be.

3. niji; an oc i acquired honestly i think almost 10 years ago, niji was actually a dta character i won on the site paigeeworld. did anyone use paigeeworld ???? anyways, niji is an artist and also probably fae’s cousin. who knows

5. prism; prism and ambrosia tied on my poll so i drew prism since i have way more art of ambrosia already. he is a part of my mlp next gen, the son of rainbow dash and pinkie pie. he is a sporty guy, taking after rd, and loves playing pranks and goofing around. his cutiemark is actually a set of playing cards, with the joker card. he is a trickster and prankster, who is usually accompanied by his best friend, ruby apple.

6. ruby apple; ruby is the youngest daughter of rarity and applejack, and prism’s best friend. she is a loud, eager, and energetic filly. she loves getting into trouble, venturing out where she shouldn’t and playing pranks. she never does any of these things with the intent of getting in trouble; she loves seeing how the world works and testing her bravery.
