“The Israeli government is a lot more rightwing now” is an understatement. A substantial part of democracy (divide between government, congress and courthouse) is under threat. Capital punishment to terrorists is in the coalition agreements. Politicians want businesses and public services to be able to discriminate against anyone they want (under certain conditions).

#there are anti-Israeli lies and exaggerated truth #like people who very rightfully care about Palestinians coming to this conflict uneducated are a vector of misinformation #and some of that misinformation is made in malice #sometimes it’s antisemitic #but also a lot of the supposedly antisemitic information are just facts that Israelis are unfamiliar with #there’s uncountably many facts hidden or deleted records that is just not available to the Israeli public #and there’s even more information that isn’t taught at all #I have a friend that up until the vote to take Israel to Hague #she didn’t know what occupation is #so it’s a lot easier for right wing Israelis to deny the new information #and from experience it’s also a lot easier for center and cener-left Israelis to cuddle up in the #“they’re misinformed and radical” blanket #even when you live in this reality and have it reported to you 24/7 #even if you don’t have a warped sense of morality that many right wing Israelis do #you don’t entirely understand the situation. so you end up fighting against anti Israeli propaganda #and what you actually end up doing is spread pro Israeli propaganda #“they bought land” is right #and it’s also wrong #how are you supposed to sum it into 255 characters?#are you even willing to try?
