However, The Jiri Everest base camp trekking explores the beautiful landscape of the whole Solu Khumbu region, stunning views of the Himalayas, green jungle, and lush valleys.

During this classic trekking, one can enjoy the panoramic views of the Himalayas that include Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt.Pumori, Mt. Thamserku, etc... And different cultures and Sherpa society.
It is one of the longest trekking routes in the Everest region, starting from Jiri and ending at Lukla. Doing this trekking from Jiri is a good idea as you will have enough acclimatization on this trekking as it is from a low level and climbs gradually up to the Base Camp.
For the more adventurous trekkers, you have the option to pass over the Chola and go to the Gokyo valley and climb Gokyo Ri. Or, if you are looking to experience some technical climbing, you can go to summit Island peak.
Detail Itinerary of the Jiri – Everest Base Camp Trek- 22 Days
Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu airport & transfer to the hotel
And you will be met by our airport representative and escorted to your hotel, refresh yourself & your evening is free. Your first overnight at your hotel in the valley of the gods…Kathmandu.
Day 02: Full day of sightseeing of Kathmandu valley
Kathmandu is the cultural heart of Nepal and has been a famous destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its borders to visitors. The city displays an interesting combination of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, and Western influence.
There will be a full-day guided tour to the famous and biggest Hindu shrine of Pashupatinath, the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal Boudhanath, the 15th century Palace of 55 windows, and Swoyambhunath. In the evening after you’ve rested, you will be briefed about your trip by our senior Sherpa guide.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Jiri to Bhandar
We start our driving journey quite early in the morning and Drive via the Araniko highway to Lamosangu. Whilst passing the old Newar towns of Banepa and Dhulikhel you will get excellent panoramic views of the eastern Himalayas, including Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, and Dorjee Lakpa.
The road descends to Panchkhal, climbs over a ridge behind Dolalghat, and follows the Sunkoshi north to Lamasangu. After passing several villages, you will reach Jiri and continue to Bhandara.
Day 04: Trek from Bhandar to Sete Village
Today, our trail drops down to the Linkhu Khola, crosses the river at 1490m, and follows it to Kenja at 1570m. Another steep ascent to Chimbu, and further, we finally reach Sete. Now the long ascent to the Lamjura Bhanjyang pass begins. It then traverses to Sete village (2575m).
Day 05: Trek from Sete to Lamjura pass to Junbesi
The trail passes gradually up through Lamjura Pass (3530m), which is the highest point between Jiri and Namche Bazaar. It then descends through the fir and rhododendron forest and emerges after one and a half hrs at Taktor.
Continue on the north side of the valley before dropping down to the Sherpa village of Junbesi. We spend the afternoon here exploring the village and the way of life of its inhabitants.
Day 06: Trek from Junbesi to Nunthala (2330 m), 6 hours
Cross the stream beyond Junbesi & climb up the forest slope and after an hour's trek, the mesmerizing view of the Himalaya Mountains appears before our eyes.
Below Junbesi the trail crosses the Junbesi Khola on a wooden bridge. Just beyond the bridge, there is a trail junction. The route to Khumbu follows the left-hand trail that leads uphill. This trail turns north, descending through Salung.
From the Dudh Koshi River {river of milk}, the trail ascends to Ringmo and the Tak-Shindo Pass. There are a few shepherds' huts beside the trail, but the route is mostly hidden in dense forest. The trail crosses several picturesque streams on wooden bridges just before reaching Nunthala (Manidingma) at 2320m.
Day 07: Trek from Nunthala to Bupsa danda
From Nunthala the descent continues to the Dudh Koshi River at 1480m and crosses it to follow the other bank. Most of the trail is well defined, although it sometimes meanders through terraced fields and yards of houses. It then descends steeply through forests to a Chautara (resting place) overlooking the river.
Follow the river for a while through forests then climb through terraces to reach the Rai village of Jubing (1667m). Climb through the village around a ridge and aim for the prominent notch in front of you. From this notch continue to the village of Khari Khola (2004m) and onwards up the steep hill to Bupsa danda.
Day 08: Trek from Bupsa danda to Puiyan
The trail ascends from Bupsa and on to Bhumsing, (2300m). It continues to climb through a tributary valley filled with prickly leaned oak and rhododendron forest, where languor monkeys may occasionally be seen.
Descend (305m) and cross the next tributary after one hour. Continue on the north side of the valley to reach Puiyan (2796m).
Day 09: Puiyan to Phakding
The trail climbs for about an hour after Puiyan to the ridge at 2800m, followed by another ridge. The trail descends to Sukhe (Buwa) at 2293m, situated on a tributary of the Dudh Koshi. The trail remains above the village encircling it. The village of Surkhe, at the bridge crossing the tributary below, is 2 hrs from Puiyan.
The trail now leaves this tributary valley and heads more directly north towards Chaurikharka, another dispersed village. Before ascending to Chaurikharka (2713m) the main trail crosses a spectacular deep gorge with a high waterfall (2408m).
Day 10: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar
We continue our trekking following the Dudh Koshi River and crossing it many times the way, we enter the park in Jorsale. We will stop here for lunch as we rest our weary bones, and again we continue our trek; after a few hours of walking, we reach the bustling Namche Bazaar which appears ahead as we travel along a path surrounded by pines.
We pass the plateau where the Saturday bazaar is held and enter the village. Namche Bazaar (3440m) is surrounded on three sides by mountain ranges and opens out only where it faces the Dudh Koshi.
This vibrant village is a central hub of the area and food, sundries and even mountain climbing equipment may be purchased here.
Day 11: Rest Day in Namche Bazaar
Today is a day for rest & chilling out at Namche Bazaar (3440m) this is good for our acclimatization. It prevents any unforeseen altitude problems ahead on the trail as we go to higher altitudes on the trek.
Namche is tucked away between two ridges amidst the giant peaks of the Khumbu and has an abundance of lodges, tea shops, and souvenir shops as well as a magnificent outlook as the lights come on in the evening. It is an ideal place to spend a rest day for acclimatization to the high altitude before heading off towards Tyangboche.
For acclimatization, we walk up to Khumjung village through Everest view Hotel in Syangboche and we will see beautiful views of the Himalayas including Mt. Everest.
Khumjung village is a brimming little town that is densely populated by the Sherpa community. At this village is an old monastery which we will visit as well. After this, we return to Namche for our overnight under a starry moonlit sky if the weather is clear.
Day 12: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
After breakfast in Namche, we start our trek towards Tengboche enjoying superb views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and close-up views of Thamserku. Our trek follows on the gradual trail with few ups and downs overlooking magnificent views of the great Himalaya.
Along the way, we can spot wild animals like pheasant, musk deer, or a herd of Himalayan Thar. The trail goes gradually down up to Kayangjuma. The path eventually reaches Sanasa which is the major trail junction to Gokyo valley and Everest Base Camp.
The track then follows through the pine forests and after we cross the prayer flags festooned bridge over Dudh Koshi River, we reach Phunki Thenga, a small settlement with a couple of teahouses and a small army post amidst the alpine woods.
After having a relaxed lunch at Phunki Thenga we then have a little tough climb steep up through the pine forests before we reach Tengboche. Tengboche is a great place for close-up views of Ama-Dablam, Nuptse, and Everest, and it has the biggest Buddhist Monastery all over in the Khumbu region.
Day 13: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche
We start our trekking by descending through Rhododendron forest to the Imja Khola crossing an exciting suspension bridge on the Imja Khola and walk passing by a long Mani stone wall to enter the village of Pangboche. Our route continues through green summer pastures to Dingboche.
Day 14: Rest day at Dingboche (4260m.) for acclimatization
Today is a much looked forward day to acclimatize. It also gives us a breather to rest our lungs.
There are some breathtaking views of the North face of Ama Dablam and the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge as we explore this beautiful valley that leads up to Island Peak.
The walk is short with a good chance to relax in the afternoon. We have another option as we can hike up to Chhukum from where we can enjoy fantastic views of Island peak, Ama Dablam, Makalu, Tawache peak, and others.
Day 15: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche
The onward Himalayan journey leads us north for up to 50-minutes until we come to a mani-prayer Stupa; then the trail gets gentle as we look down to Pheriche village below.
Today's walk offers views of the Mt. Tawache, Ama Dablam and to the north-Pokalde (5741m) Kongma-Tse (5820m), and the great wall of Nuptse. After two hours of walking, the trail from Pheriche joins near Dughla (4595m) before a small wooden bridge over the river of Khumbu glacier.
Then we continue for an hour up a steep hill to the top, where there are views of Mt. Pumori and other peaks west of Everest. After a short break, we continue trekking up to Lobuche.
Day 16: Trek from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp via Gorakshep
We start our trekking following the rocky moraine path, view icy glacial pond and icebergs down below the Khumbu glacier. After the last rocky moraine dunes, a short downhill walk brings us to Gorakshep, where we will stop for lunch and we leave all our stuff there at the lodge as this is the last place where their lodges are available – then we start our Himalayan journey to the Everest Base camp - WOW !!!
Congratulations!!! This is why you hiked up all the way; your Dream comes true now, after spending some time in the Base Camp we return to Gorakshep for the night. It’s been a wonderful day after all.
Day 17: Trek from Gorakshep to Kala Patthar and trek to Pheriche
After some piping hot coffee at the break of dawn, we climb to Kala Patthar (5545m.) and enjoy the views of a spectacular sunrise.
From Kala Patthar, we can have a panoramic view of Mt. Everest and many other mountain peaks like Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbetse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku, and many more, after experiencing an amazing sunrise.
We trek down to Gorakshep have lunch and start trekking down to Pheriche.
Day 18: Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar
Now, we trek back to Tyangboche, an easier descent passing through pretty rhododendron forest. It is a small village with a famous monastery offering us splendid views of Ama Dablam, startling lush green meadows, and river views.
The trekking from Tyangboche is mostly downhill to Phunki Tenga and some steps to Sanasa and then it gets almost flat & pleasant to Namche Bazaar.
Day 19: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla
This is our last day on these stunning mountains that have been home to us all of these days…
And today is the last day of our trekking; the trekking is pleasant, except for a few short uphill climbs and then down to the Bhote-Koshi River crossing it three times. The last uphill climb of 45 minutes will bring us to Lukla.
Day 20: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu
We will take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu & the rest of our time is free to do our things, maybe we could do some shopping for our loved ones back home.
Day 21: This is your day in Kathmandu

We continue on an undulating path above the river, and at one point, where a tributary flows in from the opposite bank, the main river becomes covered with huge boulders that hide the water. Climbing a meandering path to the top of the hill, we will see the level plain of Tal (1700m.). Beyond Tal, the valley narrows and the path becomes high and winding, and in several areas hewn from the rock itself.
Beyond the small village of Karte (1900m.), there is a bit more cliff-walking before the path drops again to the river and we cross another suspension bridge and arrive at Dharapani, overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 06: Trek from Dharapani to Chame
After having breakfast at guest house, we start the art our trekking at first light after a cupper through a narrow field from the village, the Dudh Khola, which originates from the south face of Manaslu, The Marsyangdi River then veers to the left, and as Annapurna II becomes visible ahead, we arrive at Bagarchhap, a Bhote village with prayer flags fluttering in the breeze around Buddhist monastery, continuing to climb through forests of pine and oak.
We pass through Danaque (2210m.). There comes a small wooden bridge which makes us follow a steep ascending path up to Timang village which lies at the bottom of Lamajung Himal & then the trail goes through a flat level until we reach Chame, overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 07: Trek from Chame to Pisang
After having breakfast at the guest house, we start our trekking from Lamjung Himal (6893m) as we see it glittering in the morning sunshine with the first rays hitting us warmly in the face, & we set off for Pisang, The Mountain disappears as we climb the path up the valley, passing a huge apple orchard.
We continue through fir and pine forest, climbing to a high, rocky area as the opposite bank becomes an impassable cliff. From this point the valley becomes extremely steep-sided as we follow the path to Bratang (2950m.) then a short climb from the village brings us to a rock-strewn area where we cross a wooden bridge and follow a high, winding path, before crossing back to the right bank again. We now trek through a pine forest and as the forest ends, the valley changes from a V-shape to a gentle U-shape, opening up wonderful vistas & then we come to a long mani wall by a bridge and the lower village of Pisang, overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 08: Trek from Pisang to Manang
After having breakfast at guest house, we start our trekking with climbs to steep ridge which affords good views of the Manang valley and Tilicho peak (7145m.). View from Manang Village
From the wide plains of the Sabje Khola Valley, Annapurna IV (7525m.) also becomes visible. Just beyond this point we cross the considerably reduced flow of the Marsyangdi Khola via a wooden bridge to the tiny village of Mungji. Cultivated fields appear on both sides of the path and off to the right, below a craggy mountain.
We will see the village of Braga with its splendid monastery, Large Chortens and mani walls abound and the tall peaks of the Himalaya spread out before us, then after a short steep climb we will reach Manang for our overnight at a Guesthouse.
Day 09: day for rest at Manang for acclimatization
This also gives our lungs a breather while we rest our weary bones a bit till we do some short hikes to get used to the thin air as we slowly go to the higher elevations.
Today, we hang around town; this is an important rest and acclimatization day before crossing the Thorung La. There are optional day walks such as crossing the river to see the tremendous icefall coming down from the Annapurna, or climbing high above the village for a full panorama of the Annapurna range and the Manang Valley.
There is also a Himalayan Rescue Association [HRA] aid post in the village which makes for an interesting and educational visit. Moreover you can visit Ganagapurna Glacier Lake to make your rest day a memorable one, overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 12: Trek from Thorung Phedi to Muktinath via Thorung La

The gradient then eases and after around 4 hours of steady climbing, we will reach the chorten and prayer flags of the pass.
The views are dramatic, to say the least, from the snow-covered mountains above to the head of the Kali Gandaki valley below and the brown and purple hills of Mustang which are spread out before us.
The descent to Muktinath is a knee-pounding 1600m but it's compensated for with excellent views of Dhaulagiri. Eventually, the moraines give way to grassy slopes before a pleasant walk along the Jhong Khola Valley to Muktinath and its shrines, overnight at Guesthouse.
