im all for hating on taylor swift but i think another huge part of this is the latest culture towards creatives in general (like authors and actors) to not portray "what they don't know". it leads people to make really presumptive leaps of logic when it comes to interpreting songs, shows, etc and the authors' intent behind them. people are pressured to out themselves because of how they write or portray lgbt+ stories. everyone wants to say "well this story isn't authentic to my experience because obviously an Outsider wrote it." and this applies to everything from gender/sexual identities to mental illness to, i dont fucking know, vehicular manslaughter, APPARENTLY...

not only does it imply that all actors shouldn’t play outside of their real life sexuality, including gay ones, but it’s also like, you expect every single actor to publicly out themselves even when 1) it’s not safe for them 2) they’re not ready 3) they maybe just don’t fucking want to, just so you can feel like they deserve to play that role

idk how people arent seeing it. i thought the show was trying to make a very purposeful parallel between him and alicent - having to do it for duty......ive seen a lot of people tho interpret his reticence and silence as his own inner turmoil w/ his honor/oath and from what i gather from the actors this is how the showrunners meant for it to come across (dont how what the female director intended exactly) but if thats what they wanted, they did a bad job.

from the very beggining, i didn't see it like that, i was instantly uncomfortable. in the very best case scenario, he did what he wanted with a great amout of personal guilt and reticence, after wanting to get out of it, and he was absolutely used by nyra as a way to get off when she actually wanted her uncle (the way she startes over his sholder; this isnt about him or them) - something im sure he will be distressed to find out.

worst case and to me most clear scenario? he didnt kiss her back, tries to get her to stop, tells her to stop, she has to force him to even look into her eyes..... it is true that they had a lot of time, that he was smiling while taking his boots off, and there was a moment of passion when he first goes to kiss her.... apart from that? his energy is horribly off - and even a "deep down he wanted it" excuses nothing and just sounds like rape apologia when Most of It felt Very off.. shes giggling, he looks solem, almost pained, out of it, blank face, and like his head may be put on a spike (which it very well could)...... who is to say this man thought he had any choice at all to deny the princess?

what really sealed the deal for me was the next morning. he didnt want to look at her, meet her eyes, come near her... thats not just a man who is in personal conflict with his actions and regretful... it came across as much more than that, a much deeper hurt, a fear (tho he is also 100% scared of the consequences).

She treats cole as men treat sex, and as daemon taught her - take what you want, dont think about the consequences, its for personal pleasure, dont mind the power imbalance.

I watch the episodes every week with my friends and when this scene started we were all like ohhhh she’s gonna do it with the hot guard and then it turned into oh no she’s gonna do it with the hot guard. MY JUSTICE LEAGUE REVIEW.

okay, so as many of you know, i did get to see justice league the day it came out last weekend ! a bunch of people have been asking me to post my review, i’ve been incredibly busy which is why this did not post sooner. a bunch of spoilers below, you have been warned. 

so OVERALL, i really did like it....sort of.  i actually liked the length, it was much easier to process & observe then say, the avengers, but we got so m u c h cut, not even just from lois but like.....barry saving iris, vicTOR STONE, i m e a n ...... srsly. like they could have done it ! better ! within the runtime ! if they had just cut out whedons bullshit quips & barry falling into diana boobs! but anyways, more on that later. the score was so so good, esp the opening song i c ried but honestly danny elfman wasnt the best. i wouldve preferred junkiexl, bc at least he wouldve paid homage 2 zimmers score (im v bitter.)

i LOVED the opening montage. snyder all the way i mean, i s t an one(1) caucasian man. also lmao im referring to the gotham city scene, NOT the superman video clip bc a. cgi & b. like what purpose does it even serve if the camera doesnt immediately pan 2 lois after he answers that question lmao. but the batman cinematography over gotham was on p o int. honestly the way they designated each portion of the introduction to a specific superhero - like the coloring, the backstory, everything - i really liked the seperate sections each for aquaman, the flash, cyborg, etc. idk wonderbat was un nessacary in the dceu but i dislike b/en affle/ck so lmao. steve joke was NOT cool tho. 

okay but i LOVE ezra millers’ barry allen. i would die for him im not even JOKING he was so GOOD and stole the show honestly. God bless they couldnt have picked a better actor tbh. i really wished we could have gotten more of cyborg’s insight/backstory but my man ray fisher fucking shined. aquaman strutting down the docks to icky thump while downing a bottle of whiskey is my aesthetic....thats Hawt. again, more backstory (mera was in for like 2 minutes i mean what the fuck)

 but yeah. i wont talk much about batfleck bc a. no character development he was just there lmao and b. i dont like him ( i love comics bruce wayne ok just not gross ass sexual harasser b*n affl*ck playing him).  i love alfred tho. obviously nothing can been the nolanverse alfred but this ones pretty damn good, they both do a good job of knowing lois is both the key AND the big guns, hats off 2 u BOTH. bruce felt so guilty tho i mean whyy bro some of it i think was just so diana could comfort him which was....uh ok. i like the gadgets !! also him adopting barry allen. i miss the batfamily!! also ‘whats ur superpower’ ‘im rich’ well goddamN. wonder woman was underused. i mean she can obviously hold her own in a fight against supes longer then that, if not beating him like r u KIDDING me. but ya my girl kicked ass

moving on, steppenwolf couldve used more backstory/screentime. i didnt...rlly...get...his motives aside from him being chaos personified or whatever. not the best villian but he couldve been tbh with the story he had. my AMAZONS slayed. the motherbox thing was explained so quickly, the connections between worlds was v clear like damn the mcu could never (i love marvel dont get it twisted tho.)  i loved the themes of unity and everything but it needed more woman. i know this sounds arbitrary but...lmao so far, no male-centred dceu film has passed the bechtel test. wonder woman is the ONLY one. fucking ridiculous.  not even a two minutes conversation with lois empathizing with her pain like goddamn.

clarks alive, we been KNEW, obviously. the resurrection wasnt super confusing but kind of like a letdown. i would have preferred if it hadnt been the league to resurrect him, instead like some other sun power or maybe steppenwolfs scheme or something, it seemed a little wrong. im not even gonna talk about henrys mustache until later when i unload the shit in whedon sO - i personally like his new suit!! he wasnt in the film too much tbh, honestly wb either owes me a full directors cut of him explaining his thought process about returning to earth and his character development theron, OR man of steel 2. like cmon man. boy came back from the dead wtf is going on there. much more of a classic superman then in bvs which i liked, but it seemed kind of rushed & i miss snyders depth.

now onto the main event: (jkjk but rly) LOIS JOANNE LANE !  first off i really loved her wardrobe, the contrasing blues and navies with her red hair like...i see u supes coloring scheme, i see what u did there. i love her bond with martha. i love amys face. but u know what i didnt love that ill 10000% elaborate more on and put into a seperate post for my jl verse? pretty much everything else. yes, a woman’s grief should be validated and never underestimated or mocked, yes, a woman’s grief does not make her any bit less strong. but lois, my lois at least, i strongly believe, would not have stuck to fluff pieces. she is VERY all or nothing when it comes to this, its either the truth, or nothing at all. in the event of supermans death OR disappearance, she would have grieved, she would have been heartbroken - but she would have persevered, evidenced in the comics heavily. more on this later.

i am VERY pissed about amy’s cut/reshot scenes. all the heartfelt clips shown during test screenings, all of zacks intentions, all of the original screenplay - lmao, cut.  does lois ever talk to martha about anything other then clark? groceries? investigations? anything else to build a solid mother-daughter relationship? ok. the nightmare scene where she remembers clark? gone. the in depth conversations with martha in the farmhouse? zilch. the independent investigations of s.t.a.r labs unveiling steppenwolf/ the mother boxes that shows her manifesto in full force? nowhere. the goddamn proper clois reunion from the trailer where the ring was MENTIONED/CONFIRMED like every other logical person expected, the heartfelt reunion about truth and justice and love? fucking no w here.

lois lane deserves a stand alone. or at least a short, or a tv show. im fucking serious. all that lois/diana setup from bvs and they dont even t a lk. cmon. lois is a sidenote in the story !! im so MAD. like yes, forever grateful for ‘big guns’ and ‘backup plan’ but whedon fuckin twisted it all man.....what happened to her being the key? how the fuck did flash know about this? did they cut something else? i MEAN she has virtually NO onscreen contact with bruce, who should be regularly checking up on her bc shes the key & all, or from diana, who sympathizes with her pain via bvs/ww cinematographic parallels that were obviously intentional. no league interactions at all. im unimpressed.

and finally, FINALLY, the real bone i have to pick with this movie. joss whedon. gross ass bitch doesnt even cut it so im gonna try to keep this as short as possible. he reshot ALL of supermans scenes against snyders will, reducing the role of him and lois, disregarding the talent of amy adams and reducing her whole ‘arc’ to be about clark, the flash/diana boob faceplant, the horrible cinematography, bruces’ steve trevor references, its all fucking whedon. i could go on, but i dont wanna combust into flames. so. lets just say hes a piece of middle-aged bald white man mediocrity with a brain the size of a a literal bat shit. fuck him. 

but OVERALL, i would give this film around a 60-65/100, which is being generous. they could have done!! so GOOD!! but no they picked a trash bag to direct the film reshoots? sad.

Who’s Who?

Ok so time for some introductions. Im the host, you can call me Ma as everyone else does. Im 37 and a mother, trainee medical secretary, cleaner and seller of posh chocolate. I like reading, drinking tea, and occasionally actually having a bloody clue what Im doing...covered in tattoos and has trichotillomania. Very sensitive to sugar.Sarcastic and very stubborn but slightly softer than she lets on. Holds trauma memories, but mostly later ones. Tends towards masculine appearance or androgeny, but mainly as too lazy to really pay attention to fashion.

Elliot is our protector. Hes in his 40s, southern and also known as grumpy cat which gives you an idea of his disposition. Likes Dallas Cowboys, Coffee, rare moments of quiet and the rarer moments when ‘people actually listen ta what Im tryin to tell them for their own damn good’. Married to Ma. It works, mostly,but anyone who thinks its a ‘happy ever after invent your perfect partner’ thing has never heard them bicker. Holds violent trauma and displays PTSD symptoms on occasion but triggered less frequently these days.

Parker is our little. She age slides, but generally shows up at around age 6-10.She has been as young as 3. She loves animals, unicorns, glitter, sugar,drawing, Elliot and her ‘squishster’ (Ma’s biological daughter). Energetic and happy for the most part, she is shy around new people and has tendancy to type ALL IN CAPS!! We dont know why...need to be heard?! Holds trauma but does not care to talk about it and cannot fully recall details. Her original name was a trigger so she chose Parker after watching ‘Leverage’ and deciding the lady who plays Parker has hair like hers and she wants to hang off the side of building and steal things too one day. Seriously. She also named Elliot, who was previously known only as Grey or occasionally Asshole...for the record, they are not fictives and do not particularly resemble the actors, Parkers hair and Elliots grumpiness notwithstanding..

Dylan is our other little and Parkers twin. Also an age slider, she mostly fronts at around 10 but has been much younger. Unlike Parker, she holds a large amount of trauma and when she fronts will often do so in hypervigilant mode. She is also very quiet, and speaks as beiefly as possible. Othertimes she is entirely mute, and Parker translates.We suspect PTSD even though she has never fronted during therapy to make diagnosis. Physically, she strongly resembles Parker, but her hair is shorter and darker blonde, and her eyes are darker. She resembles Ma as n older child, whereas Parker looks like Ma did when around 3 in terms of colouring.She is much less girly than her sister and prefers gender neutral clothes. Loves her elephant stuffie, Elliot, Parker,lockpicks, dark chocolate, all shades of blue and subdued glitter. 

Miss Ellie is our resident southern belle. She is younger than the host, but treats her like a little backward sister who hasnt quite mastered femininity yet. Girly, confident,organised with a secret weakness for chocolate and Brad Paisley, she kind of resembles Tami Taylor and is our ‘work face’ when we need to appear polished, functional, normal and interract with other people. No trauma memories that we know of.

Gaia is our resident hippie. She is a reiki master, dreadlocked, yoga loving zen voice of calm (a rare thing in our family). Chilled beyond belief she is a vegetarian lover of the universe. As far as we know she holds no trauma,and  her role is generally being the carer and open minded sounding board. 

Cat was the host for the last few years until she got burnout caring for her and Mas 4 yr old son and the man we were in a relationship with. She is an aussie who is normally laid back a bit surfey and very sarcastic with a good line in dirty jokes and a quick wit. She suffers from periods of depression and has issues surrounding sex we do not wish to go into.

Lena is an insider, and a protector who seems to have come about specifically to care for Wolf. Quiet, pretty and holds most of our linguistic skills, speaking both Russian and English with smattering of Finnish. She can pick locks and is very good with technology...much to the confusion of the host who,on the rare occasion Lena fronts is often left with pieces of tech and pages of cryptic notes in russian...which the host cannot read...she likes a good cup of tea and very dark chocolate. Spends most of the time in the innerworld with -

Wolf. Male, in his 20s at a guess,but was once a little. Lenas appearance seems to have helped him grow up to a certain extent. Holder of worst trauma memories, has C PTSD, and exhibited self harming behaviour until recently.Is very quiet and introverted. Is extremely intelligent, and has a passion for the deep web,physics and technology. Does not front, but when he speaks in the innerworld has a soft scottish accent like several of hosts paternal family. Is closest to Lena, will interract with everyone else in system on occasion,but is skittish around Elliot owing to nature of trauma,alpha male types often trigger him. Elliot is aware of this and tries to keep interraction with Wolf to minimum to avoid triggering him. 

Ruby. Sexual alter who is currently on ‘lockdown’ in the headspace owing to her manipulative and disruptive nature. Attempts were made to rehab her, but she wound up attempting to hurt Parker and so was locked down by Elliot. Cannot currently front. Is known to several people in the hosts outer life, with varying degrees of fondness.

T is a recently occuring fragment who apparently ‘went to sleep’ when the host was 17 and thus seems to be a copy of the host at that age. Does not recognise the body and does not recognise time has moved on. Smoker and drinker as host was at that age, she wants to travel and has no interest in being maternal or forming family bond. Presently unknown whether or not she is permenant or alter or fragment and ongoing work is being conducted to find out more.

So thats us...our eldest daughter calls us ‘the fam’ and it seems to have stuck. Always happy to chat to other systems or singletons alike but we have no interest in engaging in any kind of one upmanship or bullying and dont go around telling people what their system should and should not be.

Currently we are very happily stable and functional, nut havent always been that way so enjoying it while it lasts ☺

Its a nice balmy 72 degrees with a nice breeze. The sun is shinning with some clouds here and there. I go to the zoo with some friends/ a friend and we just share random facts about our favorite animals. we get some cute plushies at the gift shop and then go to a wonderful meal, either greek or korean bbq or Pho and we go back to someones house to watch movies and vibe, sleepy, warm, and content.

Laura- we met my freshman year of collage, first day and we click INSTANTLY. She’s my soulmate and I would go to hell and back for her (RIP to Orphius, but im different)

Bly- we met, like, back in 2014/2015 at house parties but didn’t really start getting SUPER close like we are now until, like, 2017/18/19 ish. Really the only person I actively talk to every single day, my mood twin. We share a braincell. 

Syd- we met at, like, Momocon 2014? 2015?? something like that???? bc we roomed together. We started getting close in 2016 by bonding over fursuit stuff. My go to roadtrip partner. I kinda owe my current joy for life to her bc she helped me through my hell time in 2018 but kicking my ass and teaching me how to make fursuits. 

Eli- we met at Dragon-Con through a mutual friend in 2014, but didn’t really get close until may of 2019. Now we’re p much partners in everything but title bc we just don’t have romantic feelings for eachother. We share a therapist and hang out at least 3 times a month.

How my last relationship ended. I pulled some STUUUUUUUPID shit and never got to own up to it or hold the other person accountable for the harm they did to me. It was just overall horrible and never got any type of closure. Likely never will. But it be that way sometimes.

My grandfather died last week and i feel........ almost nothing bc I honestly really did not like the man. He was horrible to me growing up and horrible to my mother while my grandmother was sick and dying. But he did a number of good things too. But I feel guilty for not mourning him more. 

Lupine: What does your name mean? Why is that your name?

I chose Sawyer bc when I was younger, I was very good at wriggling my way out of work and my mom and aunts would call me “Tom Sawyer”. I also just like Mark Twain and the name Sawyer in general. Feels good

Marigold: Where did you grow up? Tell us about it.

In the suberbs of atlanta in a nice house on the Chattahoochee river. I’m actually still living there while I finish school. 

Morning Glory: What was your bedroom like growing up?

Rosey wall paper and gross maroon carpet until 7th grade, when we painted it all blue and put in blue carpet. It was, and is, very VERY blue. Im gunna be painting 2 walls different colors soon.

Mugworts: What was it like for you as a teenager? Did you enjoy your teenage years?  

Miserable, tbh. A lot of shit happened when i was 16 that left me with a lot of trauma and issues that I didn’t really have the maturity or energy to deal with while in highschool on top of being queer and dealing with that. So it was a lot of fighting with parents, self loathing, and struggling in school. It had its beautiful wonderful moments that I love with all my heart, but for the most part it was just kinda rough. 

Norwegian Angelica: Tell us about your mom.

Georgia born and raised. She tries her best and is a wonderful mother, but we clashed a lot growing up bc she’s fairly neurotic and likes everything to be precise and orderly and perfect and im... ADHD so sometimes close enough is all you’re going to get. Growing up, i couldn’t communicate what was going on with me or happening in my head very well at all, and it caused a lot of tension. 

Onions: Tell about your dad.  

Hes from Bogota colombia and im almost a carbon copy of him. That means our issues with ADHD have a happen of blowing up at eachother. He’s horrible and constructive communication, but overall is sweet and funny and very very clever. My relationships with both of them are p okay nowadays with a few spats here and there that I will deal with when I don’t live with them anymore.

I never met my paternal grandparents. My maternal grandfather died when I was 6 and i hardly remember him.

My maternal step grandfather was.... not a good man but he was interesting and incredibly smart and fairly liberal. So there was that at least. But, to be honest, I hated the guy.

My maternal grandmother was one of my favorite humans in the world. She spent her whole life a highschool science teacher. She was funny, witty, elegant, a fairly talented cook who always encouraged me in everything I tried. Im still dealing with some emotional stuff regarding her passing, but Im just always so glad i got to spend as much time with her as I did.

haha shit. Maybe my 21? A bunch of friends and i went and hung out at a park then got hammered at my house after.

Working at the summer camp i went to as a kid. Debating going back if I ever can.

I’ve made my fortune and when I say things people listen, but I can also run away to my beautiful little homestead with my queer friends and wife and all our animals and children living together in a wonder queer commune. I get to travel twice a year and i never have to worry about money.
