the reason why transfem elias is my favourite theory for gwendolyn is because think about the implications.

so let’s say this alternate universe reveals that elias is actually transgender, and would present/identify as female if they had the opportunity to figure themself out and transition (elias was reportedly very young when jonah possessed them)

then the idea that in the tma universe they not only didn’t live long enough to do that, but THEIR BODY WAS TAKEN OVER BY SOMEONE ELSE WHO THEN PRESENTED IN A MASCULINE WAY AND LIVED AS A MAN USING THEIR FACE AND BODY FOR OVER TWENTY YEARS?!? FUCKING TERRIFYING

as a trans person myself, even though the real elias was dead the dysphoria that idea gives me is absolutely unreal, and really creeps into serious body/existential horror territory which i think would be really interesting and very in-character for a writer like jonny to explore.

Thought of another two:

Barbershop au - more modern au ofc - where they all work in the same barbershop or smthn. I'm thinking.... I'm not sure owns/runs it... Probably Mira or Isa, since Odile isn't from there... More likely Mira? OH OH!!! The head housemaiden! She owns the shop and Mirabelle is like. Inheriting it!! Isabeau works there, probably still doing Clothing Designing stuff on the side,, maybe goes to college for it? Petronille is a regular and often comes in with her little sibling, Bonnie. maybe Siffrin is New In Town and looking for a job and gets hired there! (With Siffrin's hair it's a miracle he actually got hired...) Aand maybe Odile is a customer who keeps coming by? Or perhaps she came around once or twice for business/legal reasons? Oh! Or Odile is just a customer who happens to be in town (for "research" ;3) and just sticks around longer cuz she got attached 😌

Well That Was Weird au - au where Siffrin only loops back like once or twice? And/Or maybe there's no Loop? Like during the first few loops is when the whole "abandonment" thing gets fixed and maybe only later in their journey does Siffrin look into/mention it to the party.

I had more isat au ideas so I'm gonna write pretty much all of them down here (and then it will probably promptly get buried)

Haunted House: one of the party members is Missing during the loops (maybe they all "disappear" further and further into the loops...?) and the party is Semi aware? Like. They know Something's Up, something's missing, but they can't recall what (who) it is. Missing person is either just. Poof. Or they're a ghost (hence the "haunted" part) and they're only in The House (or something along those lines perhaps? Just. Ghosts. in The House.)

Fire boy and water girl au: Siffrin (fire) and Isabeau(prob?) (water) are uh idk going through the house and looping alone together. Good chance it'll be Isa (isafrin my beloved<3) but there is potential for it to be one of the others...(Likely might gonna scrap this idea so technically up for grabs?)

(already working on) Raining Cats and Dogs (prob temp title): everything is pretty much the same but they're all furries. Sif is a cat, Isa, Mira, and Bonnie are dogs, and Odile is likely gonna be a wolfdog.

Blissfully Confused: Siffrin doesn't remember that they're looping they just have unexplained Knowledge about the house and their party. (Miight scrap but unlikely atm imo)

Two Siffrins (I think I have a different name but idr atm): two hats/secret boss ends with Loop reforming as another Siffrin and joining the party. (Might scrap might keep. Idk, I like the idea, visually at least, but ahh idk confusing logics?)
