This is just a me thing, and I feel like a jerk for having this lil thing that peeves me, but as an artist, I hate it whenever I see another artist constantly and actively saying that their art sucks and they say it’s bad and they say that their art will flop even before they post the drawing. I get annoyed by it easily.
I understand not liking a drawing you make. It’s completely normal for artists to cringe at their art if it didn’t turn out the way they hoped it to.
But when they do it all the time?
#Sorry for sounding like a jerk (I think I am one in this case)#but I'd just assume that they're fishing for compliments#nothing wrong with wanting people to assure that your art is good#but the way they do it irks me the wrong way...#like come on artists! Be more confident with your art!#we're over here giving you all the love and support my pal#anyway this is just me being annoyed by the little things I see from time to time

some general Headcanons, but if there is something noteworthy for any AU difference, I‘d love to hear elaboration! To the degree you feel like answering too obviously :).
Uuh one request i do have beside general HC.
that adoption au idea you had a while back. What was Evan Charlie sibling dynamic like?
(Quick note: I made this so long, I'm so sorry LMAO. I reached into my headcanons and rambled way too hard. FOR SHORT: Charlie and Evan are good friends but not best friends like Evan and Cassidy are. Cassidy dislikes Charlie at first while Charlie likes Cassidy, so they have a sort of one-sided enemies to friends thing. Charlie and Evan are best friends in that AU)
My personal headcanons for Charlie, Cassidy and Evan is that... Okay first of all, I'll give my general perceptions of Cassidy and Evan before I answer about Charlie. For the sake of context. Also also I like using they/them for Cassidy.
Cassidy and Evan are absolute best friends in my thoughts. Cassidy's more of a fighter while Evan's more flighty, and thus they're protective of him. I like to imagine that Cassidy is a good kid who fiercely stands up for others, but doesn't go about it in the most gentle of ways, and will easily pick a fight regardless of whether or not they think they can win. I like to think of Cassidy as scared of others in a dissimilar way to Evan, Evan reacting with tears while Cassidy reacts with bite and a lack of trust. Still, they have their wariness of others in common, so their friendship is deeply important to the other as they hold no fear of each other.
As for Charlie's relationship with the two, I like to imagine Charlie as being very close to the Aftons considering Henry and William's bond. I like to imagine her as being a little younger than Michael, but a little older than Evan and Elizabeth. A sort of... good middle age for her to have a relationship with all three of them. I think she likes Evan. When I imagine the Puppet, I imagine it trying to gently coax out the shyest kid with a gift. She finds him nice and likes to play with him whenever she can, but doesn't want to push into his space too much if he looks like he'd rather be alone. I'd like to think that, at one point, Charlie would meet Cassidy through Evan, intentionally or not. Charlie likes them! She thinks they're cool! And because I would find it deeply funny, I like to imagine that Cassidy does not like Charlie. At all.
Charlie's all bright smiles and getting way too close and personal. The thing with Charlie is that if a kid visibly seems shy (Evan), she'll take care in her actions. With a kid like Cassidy who shouts and tells people off? She assumes she can match this boldness and be best of friends for it. Which is why I have a doodle somewhere of Charlie saying that Cassidy bit her LMAO. Charlie makes Cassidy feel uneasy, and because Cassidy doesn't like to think of themself as being weaker for that, they just come up with reasons for why Charlie simply sucks (also why I have a comic where Cassidy thinks Charlie's fishing for compliments instead of asking a genuine question). They won't say this to EVAN though, they'll just grumble about it a bit and Charlie will wonder what she did wrong.
I do genuinely really care about Charlie and Cassidy as friends though, it's my favourite dynamic between the kids. Cassidy not liking Charlie is not the opposite to them being friends, but something that I feel would add TO their friendship, as they go through impossibly hard events together and learn to lean on each other for support as ghosts. And that is also why I have a drawing of them holding hands while Cassidy's visibly annoyed and a drawing where Charlie hugs Cassidy while they cry.
Sorry if that was long...! But there is my personal preferred way of viewing Charlie's dynamics with Evan and Cassidy.
(Note: I realize you also may have also wanted to know about the other Missing Kids too. They look up to Charlie. The kids were used to having an authoritative figure to lean against, so now that that's been taken from them, they see Charlie's protective caring nature and lean on it like a baby's instinct. But Charlie's a kid herself. She finds it... cute sometimes, and she does want to keep them safe, but it's overwhelming. She misses her dad too. Since I'd like to imagine Cassidy not finding anything parental in Charlie, I also like to imagine that adding to their friendship from Charlie's side. Charlie loves the other kids, but she's working with a situation that shouldn't have ever happened. I do have an appreciation for interpretations where they dislike Charlie, but this is just how you'll typically find me depicting them.)
---
Are you referring to this AU? I never did really draw it after that, which is a shame, because I thought about it extensively.
Generally, prior to the Afton kids being adopted into the Emily family, it's the same dynamic as I described. Afterwards though, Charlie has siblings now!! One moment it was just her and her father, and now she's got two brothers and a sister! So growing up like that, Charlie wanted to get to know her new siblings as well as possible, even better than when they had simply just been friends. (And honestly, I like to think that Charlie's a bit lonely. She was being bullied in FFPS, was she not?) Any tense relationships the siblings held with one another, Charlie and Henry did their best to remedy it. Michael's... dealing with a lot, it's still a time travel Michael AU that isn't centered on him, so he doesn't really know how to adjust to everyone quite yet. So while Charlie may have spent more time with Michael pre-adoption, he ends up who knows where, while Charlie balances things out by spending a bit more time with Evan and Elizabeth nowadays. Evan's lonely without Cassidy to play with, so he often goes to Charlie as a first option now. He trusts her. And so they grow closer and closer as best friends over the years who have each other's backs. By the time Evan gets back in touch with Cassidy, Cassidy and Charlie are both close with Evan, but not with each other. Until they are. Because I like Charlie and Cassidy having a one-sided enemies to friends thing going on.
APOLOGIES IF YOU ARE REFERRING TO A DIFFERENT AU THOUGH, I think I have mentioned adoptions a few times before. I just figured that one though because that one has to do with Charlie, Evan, and Cassidy the most.

🔥😅♨️ #SquadGoals ♨️😅🔥
(Exercise 10 - 13 React-os!)
1) OH SHIT, THE PROPHECY IS TRUE!!!
✨ THEY'RE GONNA LET QUINCY GRILL!!!!!! ✨
His Dad Energy™ will be off-the-charts!!!
2) PFFFT!!! 😂
You're getting too predictable, Dante!
Nah but, it will never stop being adorable how well Eiden knows his bois.
Plus, Eiden worked Dante-Teasing™ into his explanation so seamlessly, he doesn't even give him time to react before moving on! Outstanding move! 👌
3) Blade's Robo Abilities validating all the fanfic writers once again--
Kinda interesting that Yakumo gets nervous on boats. Maybe it's just because he's never been on one before? Or because it's so different from his natural environment, he instinctually dislikes it? 🤔
4) The return of Peepaw Kuya that canonically hates water!!! 🤣🤣🤣
He's gonna do his Ghost Bullshit of popping up behind him any second now, just watch-
Yup, that's our boi! 😂 Looks like Kuya's getting too predictable, too!
Kuya's like the fuckin Lord Voldemort of this universe. Don't say his cursed name!!!
5) That's kinda funny--- they accidentally re-created the Pokemon Starter Trio (except instead of Yaku for fire/red it's Dante)!
BRUH.
If I ever had to compete against their team--even if I were physically on-par with them--I would be hella intimidated. 2 of the 3 of them are insanely competitive by nature, and all three of them are workaholics that treat everything seriously. 😨
Not to mention, knowing my luck, I'd get stuck on a team with one slacker and one...shall I say....under-skilled person. Just, based on my history with college group projects... 😭😭😭
6) I am suddenly reminded of the crazy Australians/Floridians that wrestle crocodiles...on purpose...
(⊙ - ⊙)
...I better see fanart of this scene, or else I'll be disappointed!
I can't even blame Eiden for his awe at this weird-ass/random/kinda-funny situation, cuz I'm right there with him!
Also, Impromptu Fish-Wrestling is cool and all, but when do we get to see Quincy grill???
7) 🚨 I CALL BULLSHIT!!! 🚨
Pleaseeee. ( - _ - )
You expect me to believe that Garu and Yakumo, with their yokai-senses, would actually get caught off-guard by a random animal or something? Or that Kuya would honestly believe that??? Him, the one constantly hyping up yokai and their superiority????
...Yeah, that too. Kuya ain't that nice.
He's 100% the smartass lazy kid in the group project that shoves all the real work onto the other members, while pretending that the task they chose is actually difficult/time consuming when it actually can be completed in 5 minutes.
8) Always a fan of 🐾 Cat Dad Dante 🐾 moments! ♡♡♡
I'm also a huge fan of Sooley's thematic accessories!!!
I fuckin called it, dude!!! I knew Dante was jealous of Topper getting to have stylish outfits!!!! (And on that note---who made Sooley's lil' bandana? Eiden, I assume? 🤔)
9) Leave it to Dante & Co. to militarize cooking! 🤣🤣🤣
(ㆁ△ㆁ)
I mean, look at this shit! How are they so insanely coordinated?? Did they practice the choreography?????
10) (◔_◔)
Dante, babes, this situation isn't serious enough to justify one of your classic cheesy one-liners...
(Has anyone else ever commented on that? How Dante says a ton of cringey shit (affectionate) that sounds like it came straight out of an anime?)
--That won't distract me from his impressive skills, tho. I mean, I already knew he had some cooking knowledge from Frozen Echoes (in that side-stroy where he goes ice fishing and then cooks the fish with Karu, Blade, and Eiden).
But this isn't just the rudimentary "cook a thing over a fire until it's not raw anymore" sort of situation---this is an actual understanding of how to cook something and why you should use certain methods for the best results.
My mans is fun to tease, but honestly, he deserves more credit!
Go off, king! I'm proud of you!!! ♡♡♡♡♡
11) ---*snort*---
I'm sure this is still a compliment to Dante, but Eiden just can't resist goofing on him, huh? (≧∇≦)
🔥 End of report! 🔥

Chapter One: Dead Fish Have Feelings Too
AN: I promise that I tried to be serious while writing this. Unfortunately, I failed.
I stepped up to the large metal doors, admiring the super original penis graffiti on the brick walls around them. It was my first time ever seeing a real school, and it wasn't very impressive. I mean, it was just a big building... yet I was frozen in the doorway. The walls were a dull shade of beige and it made me almost sad to see it. The wall deserves better, I think. The graffiti was like makeup for the sad sad walls living a sad sad life of hosting children inside of it.
My neck burned from me scratching at it. My mom always tells me not to, but half the time I don't even realize I'm doing it. My nails are too short to do any real damage, she also likes to scold me for that. I wish she wouldn't freak out so much over everything... telling her I wanted to go to school was a nightmare. I shivered as I recalled the rushing and shouting and crying. She really didn't want me around people.
"Hey, are you Virginia?" A person with big square glasses was staring up at me from the doorway.
They reminded me of Vector kinda, at least their glasses did. They were nothing like Vector otherwise. They had dark skin, braids, thin eyes and long, long lashes… very much not Vector. Though, I think looking like Vector is a compliment. He's like a gay Edgar.
"Uh, yeah. I am." My voice came out a lot deeper than I'd like... I hate when it does that.
"I'm Myrla, come on in." They pushed their glasses up onto their nose, and let me pass by. "By the way, you stink. Please invest in deodorant." They gagged.
As much as that comment hurt, I'm almost relieved they assumed I was unhygienic. But, that's probably the only logical conclusion. Myrla showed me around the building, gagging throughout the whole time. I knew I smelled odd but I didn't know I smelled that bad. Maybe they're right... Does deodorant even work on me? I've never tried because my family doesn't own any... hm. The lunch bell rang.
"Well, that concludes our tour. Please never go near me until you fix the smell. It's awful." They gagged one last time and quickly sped away.
I sat down in the cafeteria and heard whispering and gagging noises in front of me. It was a group of girls. I don't need to hear them to know they're talking about my smell. Looks like I really need deodorant if I want to fit in. If it even works.
I looked back down at my phone and decided to just ignore them. I don't really care if I smell... I just care that people know that I smell.
A loud crash and high pitched screams filled the air ahead of me, the same group of girls had jumped away from the bench. A stout girl was laid out face first on the table, smiling ear to ear and giggling. She quickly slid off the table and slammed her hands onto my table.
"You smell like a dead fish!" She exclaimed excitedly.
Before I could get a word out, she grabbed my hand and shook it with full force. I was worried my arm would pop out of it's socket. I felt like my hand was burning up, she was really hot. In the literal sense. She's like an overheated laptop.
"I'm Cherry and I'm *Cherry* pleased to meet you!" She blew a ginger curl out of her face.
Oh, she was proud of herself for that one, wasn't she. Who let her cook. I felt my shoulder, making sure nothing ripped and stood up.
"Where are you going?" Cherry jumped in front of my face. She was chewing the inside of her cheek and it made her face look a little lopsided.
How do I get away from this girl... oh, I know.
I grabbed my stomach and groaned. "I have chronic diarrhea and really need to shit right now." That'll do it.
"Oh, in that case, I'll stand watch outside the bathroom!"
What. The. Hell. Where does this girl come from?
And so, we walked to the bathroom together and I proceeded to fake my horrific shit and make the most ungodly noises known to man while she stood in front of the door telling people not to come in. Truly a bonding moment. I will tell my grandchildren about the woman who guarded my shit filled asshole.
The bell rang and I rushed out to class, hoping she wasn't following me. And I waited by the door for my teacher to invite me in. She never did. None of them did. I assume they didn't get the memo. So, I spent the rest of the school day out in the hallway. Very enriching experience. I learned a lot about the tiles.
When the final bell rang, I decided to start my way home. I heard a familiar yell come from behind me that I strained to ignore. But when I heard the yelping of yet another familiar voice, I decided to look behind me.
Cherry was carrying Myrla on her back… and I don't think Myrla was too happy about it. I've never seen a piggyback ride that wasn't consensual. I've never seen a piggyback ride. Either way, it looked like Cherry knew Myrla… and they both lived in the same part of town that I do.
“Hey stinky! You live this way?” Cherry seemed thrilled to be here.
I hoped that if I didn't answer, she'd leave me alone. But she kept talking… she shuffled so fast through topics and made the wildest jumps… How does anyone even talk to her? She never shuts up. And Myrla was just as annoyed as I was, the two of them half arguing was even worse. Myrla insulted her and Cherry giggled and beamed.
I watched Cherry as I tuned her out. Her arms were very rough and hairy. I could make out that she probably worked out. A lot. Her pale skin and green eyes really popped in the sunlight. Her nose was kind of crooked and she had one tooth that stuck out a bit.
When she smiled she reminded me of a marshmallow. A freckly marshmallow. A very, very, annoying and loud marshmallow. Like the one I watched as a kid, the one with the mouth. Hm. I wonder if that show is still alive today… probably not. It was a long time ago.
I got home and started up the stairs when I heard yelling, again.
“What do you mean this is the wrong way?! I've been listening to you yap for half an hour and you didn't even take us to the right neighborhood?!”
Guess they didn't live near me then, thank god.

The Bangtan Gal Chapter 33- MAMA Awards 2014
Chapter Summary: While collabing with Block B, Jen becomes fast friends with Taeil. Namjoon and Jin's protective parenting begins to irritate Jen. The guys tease Jen over her love for Ailee. BTS get protective when a guy starts to make moves on Jennie, demanding that if anyone wants to date her, they'll have to get approval from all seven of them.
Genre: JenKook fluff, Jealous Kook,
Words: 7,000+
----
MAMA Awards was fast approaching as BTS and Block B prepared for their collaboration. There would be a rap battle, a dance battle and a singing battle. For Jennie, she received the opportunity to sing with Taeil, for the singing battle. His strong vocals and her harmony skills would be a treat for the fans. Although it was a battle, both groups thought of it as a mutual stage. She couldn't believe that she would be singing at the MAMA Awards. That was THE show to be on. So many iconic performances were performed on the show. She hoped to exceed expectations.
All she saw on Twitter were comments about her, wondering how she would do on stage at a big event like this. With everyone on the stage, working on their activities, Zico approached Jen, with Taeil.
"This is Jennie. She's the one you'll be singing with." He explained with a friendly smile.
Looking up, she returned his smile and turned to Taeil, who had a shy smile on his face.
"Hey, it's nice to meet you. Taeil, right?"
"Yes. It's very nice to meet you. I'm looking forward to working with you." He looked down at the ground.
Noticing his shyness, she shook her head in disapproval. "Oh no, you are not going to be shy around me. We are not doing this." She playfully teased, crossing her arms as he looked up, speechless. He wasn't expecting that kind of reaction from her.
Jen took a good look at him. A pair of black glasses framed his face and he was a few inches shorter than Zico. He was cute.
"I told you she's easygoing. You'll enjoy being around her. You two will be laughing and chatting it up in no time. Good luck, you two." Zico patted the two of them on the back and headed back to Namjoon to work on their raps.
"Come on, let's get to work and see how fast I can bring you out of your shy state with me." She gestured as they headed backstage. They soon find a vacant area with less commotion and sit down together at a table.
"So, what's your position in Block B?" She asked suddenly as she placed a notebook and pen on the table.
"I'm a vocalist. And you?"
"Same. I like your glasses, by the way."
"Ah, thanks. I just don't really like my eyes."
Raising a brow, she asked, "Why not?"
"They're small, so I usually just wear the glasses." He rubbed the back of his neck.
"Take them off, please. Let me see."
He glanced at her warily.
"I'm not going to laugh." She reassured as a soft chuckle escaped his lips.
He took the glasses off, setting them down on the table. Turning his head, he met her gaze while she tilted her head to the side, observing his eyes.
"Well? Aren't they weird looking?"
"Boy!" She playfully punched him on the arm, surprising him, but he suddenly started to laugh at her reaction. "Embrace them eyes! They look just fine!"
Her sudden compliment had his eyes light up as he felt content with her statement. "Thanks. That makes me very happy."
"You're welcome. And don't you forget that. So, any nicknames you go by? I'll keep them in mind for future reference."
"Future reference?"
"I'm sure we'll see each other again after the MAMA Awards. I'd like to become friends with you."
Taeil's mouth twitched briefly as he shook his head. "But we're already friends."
"Glad to hear!"
"For my nicknames, I usually get called sharkie, or fishie."
"I assume it has to do with fish?"
"Yeah, I take care of fish."
His hobby took her by surprise. Usually, she would hear people's hobbies like dancing, reading, singing, or working out. "That's very interesting. I never knew someone who enjoyed having pet fish. Well, for me, I usually get called Ennie and JW."
"Can I call you Ennie?"
"By all means. I'll call you sharkie."
"How do you like being here in this industry? Is it hard for you? Your Korean is clear and good."
"I'm always asked that and I feel like my answer changes sometimes. Right now, I just want to prove critics wrong. It's a bit hard being away from home and all, and I'm still trying to get used to getting more popular these days. I used to be able to go to places without any recognition but now, I feel the need to wear a hoodie or something, thanks to BTS' growing popularity. But I'm easy to notice because I'm chocolate, so...what difference does it make?" She let out a chuckle. "It's humbling though. It's an honor to collaborate with Block B, too. I'll work hard to make this singing battle successful. I admire your singing ability."
"You're very sweet, thank you. I admire your singing ability too. The feeling is mutual. Let's get started. They gave me an update on our singing battle."
"What did they change?"
"At first, they wanted us to sing more than one song, but since the segment is on a time limit, we'll only have time to do one."
Jen nodded. It was first supposed to be a BTS song and a Block B song. Each of them would sing each other's songs with each other, creating a custom verse for each song.
"So, they said we can either do Look Here by BTS or Nice Day by Block B."
"Hm. Okay. Which one do you want to do?"
"Ladies choice." He gestured.
"A-ight, then. I wouldn't mind performing Nice Day. I feel like the song is very funky and can get the crowd moving. Hm, then it looks like I'll have to do more work, with creating a custom verse." She pondered.
"Are you fine with that? We can always just do the BTS song."
Waving his concern away, she replied, "It's cool. I'm going to enjoy it. So how are we doing this?"
"Here's what I was thinking." He took her notebook and opened it to a blank sheet. He wrote down the first line of the song, which was his, and then went straight to writing the chorus. "You'll come in with the Ehs, singing it with me. We'll harmonize together."
"Sing it for me. The ehs."
Warming up his voice briefly, he began to sing, "Eh, eh, eh, eh, eh. Eh, eh, eh, eh, eh."
Listening closely to his range, she began to sing with him, in a higher pitch, bringing out a smooth harmonious sound. "Eh, eh, eh, eh, eh. Eh,eh,eh,eh,eh."
"That was pretty good." He praised. "We sound great."
"I like it. Okay, what's next?"
"After the ehs, you'll come in for your verse. Then back to the chorus. You'll sing the chorus this time, and I'll occasionally sing with you. Then we'll go to the whoas, and end it on a high note by singing whoa."
"Simple enough. Sounds like that'll be a blast."
Taeil was an easy person to work with and straightforward. He was patient as she learned how to sing the song and helped her write some lyrics.
"Put a little bit more power into it. It'll hype the crowd even more." He instructed, singing a strong 'Volume up.'
"I'll think of Christina Aguilera, then." She cleared her throat. "Volume up!" Her voice came out strong and raspy.
"Good!" He nodded happily as she kept singing
"All ma party people say. Shake it up yo head, agijagihan geon narang an majeunikka."
"Kkeutkkajiga." Their voices clash smoothly.
"That sounded so damn good!" She beamed.
As they continued working, they were at the last part for the high note.
"Can you increase your pitch just a bit?" She asked before they sang again.
"WHOAAAAAAAAA~" After they sing the high note, they notice all the members of BTS and Block B are watching them in awe.
How long were they standing there for? Some had their jaws dropped, while others widened their eyes.
"That was you guys!?" U-Kwon asked in astonishment, while the two of them grinned sheepishly, feeling embarrassed.
Before they knew it, it was time for the dress rehearsal. As usual, BTS are filled with high energy, dancing and jumping around, while Block B seemed to be tired.
"So, you mean to tell me...I can't do cartwheels on stage!?" Jen exclaimed to Namjoon and Zico. They both cross their arms, playfully responding with an unamused expression. "No? Okay, maybe next year." She turned to the camera, which was filming a documentary on their preparation for the MAMA Awards. "One of these MAMA Awards, I will do cartwheels on stage. I think that'll be fun."
----
It was late in China, and the staff scattered around, making sure everything was top notch for the show. From working on the lights, the music, and the cameras, the atmosphere was hectic with a hint of playfulness as everyone worked long and hard to make sure the show was a success.
Jen stood with Taeil, as the camera filmed them for the BTS and Block B hidden story of the MAMA Awards.
"Jennie and I have prepared a singing stage." Taeil happily mentioned while Jen nodded happily.
'How do you like working with Jennie?'
He was asked as he glanced at her with a smile. "She's ridiculously sweet and fun to work with." He acknowledged.
"Me? Really? This guy is so nice. He's fun to work with too. He's chill and very patient with me." she answered. Turning her head to him, she suggested, "You know, we should wear glasses while we collab together."
"I have an extra pair. You can wear that when we perform."
"Awe, really!? Yes, let me borrow them!" She clapped her hands together in excitement.
As the rehearsal went on, Jen stood off to the side to watch Zico and Namjoon practice. It must be fun to be able to perform with someone you've known for a long time. Their performance suddenly made her think of Angelina.
"Excuse me! You dropped this."
Her thoughts were interrupted as one of the sound engineers approached her. She looked up to see him handing her the choker that popped off her neck when she was practicing. When she met his eyes, she noticed that he looked around her age. Probably a few years older, with short black hair. Nonetheless, her mood was boosted when she noticed her choker was safe.
"Oh wow, thank you! Good looking out!" She bowed and examined it. "I guess it popped off while I was dancing. I must've had this on too tight. Thank you!"
Nearby, Jungkook stood with Jimin, ignoring him as he watched the guy that Jennie was talking to.
Who was he? And why is he smiling like that?
Annoyance started to overcome Jungkook as he watched the guy's lingering gaze at Jennie while getting distracted from his work.
Why did he have to stare at her like that? Why did he have that stupid smile on his face? Shouldn't he be getting back to work? Now he's distracted by her?
The way the guy smiled brightly when he watched her practice, suddenly made Jungkook frown.
"Hehehe, someone's annoyed~" He heard a familiar teasing voice.
Jungkook turned his head to see Jimin smirking at him, knowingly. He had forgotten that Jimin was next to him this entire time.
"Shut up, hyung..." Jungkook grumbled in response. Now was not the time for his teasing. He was not in the mood.
"Is someone mad~?"
"No." He firmly responded.
"Are you sure~?"
"Yes."
"That guy seems to be fond of Jennie, don't you think?"
"Hmph."
"It's cute, look at how he's staring at her. Oh, and he just started fumbling with the wires. Someone's distracted. Is that a little blush on his face?"
"Jimin," Jungkook called out in a stern voice. Ignoring his threatening tone, Jimin let out a goofy giggle.
"I wonder if he's going to ask her out. How long do you think it'll take?" Jimin pressed, oblivious to Jungkook clenching onto his mic, causing his knuckles to go white. "He looks like he really likes her. Look at how he's staring. That boy is in love~! Jennie and the cute boy sitting in a tree, k.i.s.s-"
Before he could go on, Jungkook stormed off, ignoring Jimin's loud laughter.
"Come on, Jungkookie! I was joking! I wanted to see your reaction! Jungkookie! Come back! Wait!" He walked after him, in a fit of giggles.
After rehearsing, both groups took a short break. Yawning, Jennie looked ahead to the same guy who gave her back the choker.
"Good job, that was a great high note." He praised with a smile.
"Really? Thank you. I think my mic is a little lower than Taeil's." She handed him her mic.
"Got it handled. I've noticed it too. So, what's your name?"
Letting out a soft chuckle at the question, she shook her head. "I think you know."
"Well, it's always polite to still ask someone what their name is." He replied with a smile.
She looked at him, registering his statement. That was nice of him to consider that.
"Jennie."
"My name is Shin."
"Well, it's very nice to meet you, Shin. And thanks so much for finding my choker. I legit just brought that thing. I'm gonna need to figure out if I should just buy a new one or see if I can fix it. It's broken since it popped."
"I could fix it for you."
"Oh, you don't have to do that, it's just a choker."
"By all means, I don't mind."
"Well, if you want. Thank you." She handed him back her choker.
"It'll be good as new by the day of the show."
"I dunno why but you look like you should be an idol or something."
"I get that a lot but I'm more of a behind the scenes kind of guy. You play an instrument?"
"The guitar. I'm so passionate about it. And I like to DJ for fun."
"Oh really? Maybe you should show me your DJ skills sometime."
"Nah, I want to DJ for Yoongi first. I did before but not live from scratch. I just showed him what I already played around with. So I hope you understand that Yoongi will be the one."
"Ah, it's cool. I respect that."
Meanwhile, Jungkook unintentionally let out a growl of aggravation as he watched their interaction from afar. His microphone in his hand was shown no mercy as he continued to tightly hold onto it.
"You all right?" Tae patted him on the back.
"I'm fine." He grumbled.
"Someone's moody. What's wrong with you?"
Jimin put an arm around Tae, laughing. "He's just-"
"Hyung!" Jungkook snapped.
-----
"BOOBS! NO! NO! AND NO! No boobies are showing on my watch!" Jin's frantic yelling in the hotel room was heard. Jennie let out an exasperated sigh.
"They're just balls of fat!" She exclaimed, throwing her arms up in the air.
"And those balls of fat will have the guys staring!"
"I don't even have anything!" She placed her hands on her chest, raising them up and down.
"You're still growing! Don't lie to me, they're getting bigger!"
"How do you know!?"
"Because Mama Jin knows best!"
It was finally December 3rd. The day of the MAMA Awards. BTS were getting ready, preparing for their red carpet appearance. A stylist had dressed Jen in a tight red strapless dress, that hugged her curves. As soon as Jin saw the dress, he nearly had a heart attack. It was too sexy. She was still young in his eyes to wear something like that. But Jennie thought there was nothing wrong, and she trusted the stylist's judgment on the dress.
"Jin, it's just a dress!"
"No, Jennie."
"This is bullshit. Like, really." She snapped in irritation. "You drawlin' right now."
"What was that? Say that in Korean! Don't go English on me, when I'm talking to you!" He scolded.
"I said you're drawlin' right now! The dress is fine! You are overreacting! My God, it's a damn dress. There's nothing wrong with it! You are freaking out over nothing! Shit!" She retorted.
She was so angry, she liked the dress, but his bickering began to piss her off.
"The answer is no." He firmly ordered.
"You can't just-"
"And that's FINAL!" He turned to the stylist, who looked frightened at their heated disagreement.
"Please change her dress." He pleaded, smiling apologetically.
Turning back to Jennie, he screamed in horror when he sees how her butt looked with the dress, while Namjoon stood next to him.
"Uh, excuse me, missy but where do you think you're going, with that dress on?" Namjoon crossed his arms.
There was no way she was going out there with that type of dress on. Not on his watch.
"Oh, my god! There's no problem with this, jawn." Jen shouted.
"That's too much ass, Jen. I don't want guys getting fresh with you."
"I think I can notice the fuckboys when I see one."
"Can you really? Guys will say anything to try to get in your pants."
"I know..."
"Do you really? Because your butt is getting bigger. And as you like to call them, your balls of fat, they're getting bigger as well and I don't want anyone getting any bright ideas. And they bet not stare or try to touch you."
"Namjoon, I appreciate the concern but my butt is a butt, I can't do anything about it."
"Why must it be so big!?" Jin complained. "This is too much!"
"Wait until you're 18 to wear this," Namjoon warned.
"I don't want her to wear that at all!" Jin whined.
Annoyed, Jen rolled her eyes. "Thanks mom and dad." She muttered.
After much debate with Jin and Namjoon, the stylist helped Jen finally settle for a short red two piece dress.
"Make sure it's not short in the back." Jin made Jen turn around as he examined the back of the bottom piece of the dress. "Are you wearing safety shorts? Hopefully, it won't show anything."
"Are you kidding me? I have the shorts on. It's fine," She sighed loudly
"Hm...okay, you're off the hook for now."
"It's nice and classy." Namjoon nodded in approval. "I like it."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah..." Jen huffed.
After getting her hair and makeup done, she left the room while Jin, Namjoon and Yoongi continued getting ready. Adjusting her black heels, she made her way down the hallway. Meanwhile, Jungkook just left his room which he shared with the rest of the members. He walked down the hallway and adjusted his red coat. When he looked up, he stopped in his tracks.
"Wow." He let out a breath as he stared at the breathtaking sight. He watched as she got closer, adjusting her skirt. He noticed that she was even wearing the friendship ring, just like he was. Looking at the ring on her finger made his stomach leap with joy.
Meeting his gaze, Jen's eyes light up, pleased to see him as she waved enthusiastically.
"Hey, Kookie!" She beamed.
And there was the smile he would never get tired of. He loved to see her so happy. Little did he know, she was annoyed by her previous disagreement with Namjoon and Jin. But once she laid eyes on him, her annoyance went away and she felt nothing but elation. He had that positive effect on her, but she was unaware that the feeling was mutual.
"What do you think? Do I look OK?" She gestured.
"You look..." He trailed off, taking in her appearance.
"Too much red?"
"Nah. You look gorgeous."
"Aw, you really think so? That makes me happy, to hear you say that. Thank you. You're not too bad yourself. Hold on, this has been bothering me, I'm tired of looking at this uneven collar." She adjusted his red coat while he looked down at her. "Have you grown overnight?"
"I don't think so."
"You're getting tall, Kookie."
"Oh really? Am I getting manlier?" He teased with a bunny smile.
Taking a step backward, she examined his outfit, head to toe.
"Hm...nope." She smirked with amusement and strolled past him, heading for the elevator.
Taken aback by her answer, he turned around with his eyes widened. "Y-YAH!"
Meeting up with her, he pressed the down button, ignoring her fit of giggles. "That was mean." He huffed
"Hehehe, I'm just joking. You're manly. And you look handsome. Just try not to kill the ladies with your charm." She nudged him.
"I could say the same to you." He nudged her back.
When BTS arrives on the red carpet, they get out of the van and immediately have pictures taken of them.
"Can you please talk with me during the welcome meeting?" Namjoon asked Jennie. "I'm feeling a bit pressured."
"Your English is just fine. Don't feel pressured. And yeah, I got you." she reassured him.
Each member stood on the red carpet, smiling and waving. Lights flashed quickly from all directions, making Jen squint her eyes briefly. One thing she disliked was the constant clicking noises when pictures were taken and the flashing lights. It was difficult to see at times. For this year's MAMA Awards, BTS were nominated for Song of the Year and Best Dance performance.
"Hello, we are..." Namjoon started off.
"BTS!"
"It's our very first time in Hong Kong, and we've heard so many fans in Kong Kong are really got those energies and passions for K-Pop." He continued.
Jen nodded and spoke up. "Yes, we're so honored to be here. We're excited, we can't wait to perform, and we are looking forward to our first MAMA in Hong Kong. This is such a big deal to us, and we cannot wait for our stage."
Jungkook was unable to hold back his smile as he looked down at his feet, listening to her speak in English. When she spoke in Korean, she would sound unintentionally cute. But her English voice would sound chill, yet gentle, with some sort of accent from where she used to live.
"We can't wait for the stage and just like Jennie said, we're so honored to be here," Namjoon added. "We've prepared an unpredictable and special stage, for this 2014 MAMA."
"Yes, whatever you do, don't take your eyes off the stage, you could miss something special." She teased with a smile.
"Yeah, it's going to be really surprising, I think it's going to be special and surprising. Thank you."
"Thank you very much!" Jennie bowed with the rest of the members.
After their red carpet performance, Jennie was approached by Choi Yeo-jin, who was one of the red carpet hosts. "Miss Bangtan! Do you have a moment?" She asked with a bright smile.
"Hi! Yes, of course." She bowed and returned her smile.
"Before I start, let's take a look at this two piece dress. Wow, very pretty."
Jen decided to turn around, for the camera, showing off the dress. "Thank you, I love this dress."
"How do you feel right now, at the MAMA Awards?"
"I feel awesome! This was always a dream of mine, to be here at the MAMA Awards, and now it finally has come true. I'm excited!"
"I can tell, you're so happy! Fans want to know; how does it feel to be the first African American in a K-Pop group?"
"Y'know, I'm thrilled that fans asked for more diversity in K-Pop and I hope I live up to the expectations. I do feel a little bit pressured because of the high expectations. Like, oh, 'will she be singing in English the whole time or in Korean? Does she know the culture well? Is this a publicity stunt or something?' but I'm proud that I have been proving to my critics that I am very serious about this position in this industry and I'm taking it one day at a time. I'm happy that my Korean is good, and becoming easier to understand for everyone." She answered genuinely.
She continued her answer in a passionate voice, "I'm happy that I'm still here, and I'm always thankful for my boys because if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be where I am today. Being here, it's very humbling. I get Instagram comments and tweets from fans saying that I'm inspiring them, it's so crazy. I always get excited when I perform with the guys. I don't think it matters what color you are, who you are, or anything like that, just follow your dream. Go for it. I've had my fair share of low times, failures and rejection and I know there's more to come, but you can overcome the obstacles."
"Her confidence is strong! I can tell you are very passionate and I do enjoy watching you perform. I like your charisma."
"Oh, stop." Jen let out a chuckle, flattered at her praise. "Thank you."
"Any advice you can give to foreigners?"
"Never be afraid to branch out."
"Which performance are you most excited to see?"
"Oh, you know I'm looking forward to Baekhyun! EXO~" She let out a giggle.
"Why him?"
"He's amazing in EXO. I'm a huge K-Pop fan, I'm a fan like everyone else. I'm a huge stan of EXO. I drive the guys crazy whenever I listen to other groups, dancing and singing obnoxiously to annoy them, hahaha."
"How nervous are you for tonight?"
"Right now, I'm at a 5 for nervousness. But just before I get on the stage, it'll be a 10. I always get nervous before a performance."
After the interview, she headed backstage to meet up with the rest of the members. Before she could go any further, she felt a soft tap on her shoulder. Turning around, her eyes widened when she saw G-Dragon and bowed at him.
"Long time, no see!" He greeted cheerfully.
"H-hey! Oh, my gosh, it's been a while!" She laughed while he pulled her in for a hug.
"It has. I wanted to say hey and check up on you. It seems like just yesterday when I attended my first MAMA Awards. You'll never forget your first MAMA Awards. How are you feeling?"
"I'm calm now but I know the butterflies will be coming, soon."
"Yeah, they'll always come. But I know you're going to be fine. I'm looking forward to your performance."
"And I'm looking forward to yours! You're gonna kill it!" She grinned while one of the staff members approached the two of them, telling them to go to their seats.
As the show started, fancams were filming BTS and their reactions towards the performances. As they watched the Last Fantasy stage with Girl's Day and Ailee, Jen let out a squeal when Ailee took her black hat off, revealing herself to be dancing with Girl's Day.
"Hehehe, she's so happy!" Jimin teased.
"Ailee~! Jennie can't get enough of her." Tae giggled.
"Quiet!" She hushed them, feeling her face heat up.
As Ailee performed 'Don't Touch Me', the guys kept glancing at Jen's reactions and lipsyncing. As the fancams caught everything, it was safe to say that Jennie is the ultimate Ailee fangirl and anticipated the day when the two of them finally cross paths.
Jen continued to watch with happiness. Ailee's strong stage presence and vocals were amazing, as she jammed in her seat. Meanwhile, Jimin, Hobi and Tae giggled at her eagerness, while Namjoon let out a chuckle.
There was a time when a camera was right in front of Jennie, so she lipsynced the lyrics, looking at the camera with a smile.
After her performance was over, Jen happily applauded.
"*Cough* fangirl."
Jen turned to Jimin and punched him on the arm. "Shut up!"
"Hehehe, Munchkin was so cute, all happy for Ailee." Hobi giggled.
As the show went on, with John Legend performing, Jennie couldn't help but feel like she was being stared at and started to feel curious. Meanwhile, it was from afar, where GOT7 sat, where the culprit was. It was revealed to be BamBam, who watched her with a smile on his face.
'She's really cute.' He thought as he continued to watch her. He thought her reactions towards Ailee were infectious and enjoyed her enthusiasm. Just as he continued to observe her, Jennie turned her head around as he quickly looked away.
'I hope she didn't catch me.' He thought, as his stomach dropped.
He'd have to be more careful. He snuck in another glance before looking away, afraid he'd get caught.
Jackson laughed at his shyness. "Smooth."
"Shh! Don't make it so obvious!"
"Shouldn't I be saying that to you?"
Later that night, backstage, Block B and BTS prepared for their stage. They were right after Sistar. For the performance, Jennie wore a white crop top with her leather jacket over it. Her jeans were white and high waisted, along with a white bandana tied on top of her head. As she had finishing touches done on her hair by one of the stylists, the sound engineer, Shin, who approached her during the dress rehearsal, strolls over to adjust her earpiece. But she noticed him fumbling with the earpiece.
"Are you okay?" she giggled at his nervousness.
After finally adjusting the earpiece, he let out a short chuckle and tried to flirt, "Sorry, I don't really see a lot of foreigners here. And I wasn't aware how pretty they are."
Taking his flirting attempt as a sweet compliment, her face warmed up as she giggled. "I'm flattered. Thank you."
Meanwhile, Jungkook let out a sigh of annoyance, sneaking glances at the two of them while they talked.
"All right...it was funny at first but now I'm getting annoyed with this guy. He doesn't seem to quit, huh?" Jimin looked on, shaking his head. "I wonder if he knows that she's not interested."
"I hope so..." Jungkook mumbled.
As he watched them, Jungkook clenched his jaw when he saw Shin adjusting her bandana. Jimin was staring at Shin with the scariest glare, feeling the urge to protect her. He was too close to her.
Shin is a sound engineer, not a stylist.
Why was he trying to get close and touch her?
Why was he trying to flirt with her?
Having enough, the two members made their way to them. Noticing their presence, Jennie turned and smiled. "Hey, guys!"
Jungkook's anger dissipated as he replied with a smile. Meanwhile, Jimin spoke in a not so friendly tone, "I think some members of Block B need help with their mics. Now."
"All right, thank you. Good luck out there, Jennie." Shin smiled and left.
"Um, are you two okay? You look like you just lost in one of your favorite video games."
"Nothing!" The two boys replied.
No matter what, the Maknae line will always have each other's back.
Mission: Protect Jennie Successful
------
'Fight of The Century'
As soon as Boy in Luv came on, BTS walked out to the stage, hyped up. Jen shot the camera a rock on sign before walking up the steps to stand on the stage, with her mic in hand.
The roar of the crowd took her by surprise as she looked at the sea of humanity all around the venue. This was it. This was BTS' time to shine at the MAMA Awards. Butterflies in her stomach got worse as she smiled through the nervousness, acting hyped up with the rest of the members.
"Let's go!" She shouted, jumping around on stage.
Next up was Block B, walking out to NalinA. When they got on stage, both groups faced off before they heard a horn.
With the members leaving the stage except for Jimin, J-Hope, U-Kwon and B-Bomb, the dance battle commenced.
While the guys danced on stage, Jen stood at the back of the stage with Taeil, in the dark. He had on his pair of glasses and a large brown hat on his head. She put on her pair of black glasses to match him.
"Nervous?" He asked, placing a hand on her shoulder.
"I'm shaking." She let out a shaky breath. "I dunno know about this."
"It's going to be OK. You're going to do great. We got this." He smiled in reassurance, removing his hand from her shoulder.
There were so many people, and so many idols watching. The heat was on.
As soon as Jimin ripped his shirt off, the crowd went into pandemonium, even making the idols freak out, especially the ladies. The sudden sound of the crowd, soothed Jen's nerves as she started to laugh.
"They're going crazy!" Taeil listened in awe.
"Oh, Jimin...what do we expect? He's always full of surprises." She responded, proud of Hobi and Jimin for their dancing.
As the lights faded out, Taeil walked on stage to stand before the ramp that connected to the stage where the Dance off was.
All ma party people ready~!
He sang out as the song transitioned to the chorus while the lights revealed him. He's met with loud screams and cheers as he performed, walking down the ramp as the crowd jammed out.
Where ma party people at
sikkeureopge hae
ttabunhan geu gamogeseo araseodeul
gieonawa oh tonight volume up
all ma party people say
Shake it up yo head
agijagihan geon narang
an majeunikka kkeutkkajiga
Let's go let's go let's go~!
The lights appeared down on Jennie as she walked down the ramp, singing with him,
EH eh EH EH EH
EH eh EH EH EH eh (have a nice day)
EH eh EH EH EH
EH eh EH EH EH eh (have a nice day)
"Show em what you got Jen-nay~!" He sang in a high voice and jammed to himself while she started to sing,
Aye,
Everybody party it up
Everybody knows what's up
Let me give you a heads up and tell you how it's going down, right now
Let's raise the volume to the max and get loose.
You know this music makes you want to
Tell me why you're staying calm, it's time to leave the worries out the window
As she sang, Taeil met up with her in the middle of the ramp. He grabbed her hand and spun her around, as she grinned in response. He followed her, dancing around.
Dance for me and keep it grooving
Don't stop now, keep it moving
This beat is so funky, I can't control my body
Time to break a sweat on this dance floor
Let's get a little naughty
BTS, Block B, you know how we go
Hong Kong, at MAMA, you know how we roll
All ma party people put your hands up
Wrapping an arm over her shoulder, Taeil and Jennie rock from side to side in front of a camera, happily.
Me and Taeil goin' party all night, they can't stop our flow
Tonight is the night, we goin' show em how it's done,
Tonight is the night, now shake your body and lose your mind
Getting released, she sang the chorus, walking with Taeil as she pointed to the camera when it moved with them.
Where ma party people at
sikkeureopge hae
ttabunhan geu gamogeseo araseodeul
gieonawa oh tonight volume up
Taeil took over, singing, "All ma party people say, Shake it up yo head, agijagihan geon narang an majeunikka."
"kkeutkkajiga" They harmonize together, earning louder cheers. "Let's go, let's go, let's go~!"
EH eh EH EH EH
EH eh EH EH EH eh (have a nice day)
EH eh EH EH EH
EH eh EH EH EH eh (have a nice day)
As the piano played, Taeil did a scat, before singing out, "Whoa!"
Jen responded with her own, "Whoa!"
"Whoa!"
"Oh!"
"Whoa!"
"Whoa~" They sang their high note to louder cheers and then the lights went out, ending their battle.
Seconds later, Rap Monster and Zico were revealed on stage for their rap battle.
As Taeil and Jennie left the stage, she wrapped her arms around him for a big hug. "We did it, Sharkie!"
"We make a great team Ennie! We did great!"
She let out a breath. "That was so fun. And I'm not even nervous anymore, I'm ready for the next performance!"
After the rap battle, BTS gathered to perform Danger. When it was Jen's part, a camera showed BamBam jamming out to her verse with a big grin on his face. Afterward, Block B performed Her. After they finished, both groups gathered on stage.
"Ah, yeah!" Rap Monster rasped out.
"Let's~ get it started...in here~" Jen sang as the opening beats for Black Eyed Peas' Let's Get It Started came on.
And the base keep runnin' runnin' and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin',
and Runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and
Dancing to the beat, she stuck her tongue, dancing around. This sound was such a throwback as she performed with the boys.
-----
Headed backstage, Jen was approached by Shin, yet again, while Tae watched, unamused. There was something about him that Tae wasn't feeling.
"Let me know if I'm overstepping my boundaries with this question but, uh, are you seeing anyone by any chance?" Shin asked out of the blue, staring right into her eyes.
His question took her by surprise. Honestly, she wasn't expecting anyone to pay her any mind. Sure, she wanted to date in the future but she just met him and would like to get to know how before making a drastic decision.
She answered politely, "O-oh, uh, well. Sorry that caught me by surprise."
"Really? Shame that no one's noticed just how special you are." He got closer.
"I'm not liking this..." Taehyung watched on, alerted and decided to approach them, bringing Jimin along.
"I wonder how Jungkookie would've reacted if he saw what we saw." Jimin huffed, watching Shin in disapproval.
"I don't want to know or find out, man."
"U-uh, I'm really flattered." Jennie took a step back, bowing politely at Shin. He was a bit too close. "But time is a virtue. Let's get to know each other first. Let's be friends."
"HEY, ENNIE~!" Taehyung loudly greeted cheerfully, putting an arm around her, and pulling her close to him.
"Oh, Tae, Jimin, what's up, guys?" She smiled and glanced at them.
"I couldn't help but notice you and this guy talking." Tae narrowed his eyes at Shin. Shin raised a brow at his dirty look, hiding his annoyance at getting interrupted. "Sorry, but she's not interested."
Before Jen could comprehend what he just said, Jimin added insult to injury, speaking in a serious tone, "Yes, Jennie...our Jennie...our precious...precious Miss Bangtan, who is protected by SEVEN Bangtan Boys...is a very...very busy young lady." He stared at Shin with another one of his scary looks.
"Yes, and she has no time to be getting distracted. I hope you understand."
"Guys!" Jennie exclaimed.
"Well, can I at least get your number?" Shin suggested.
"Ah, ah, ah. No boys." Namjoon came out of nowhere, grabbing Shin's phone out of Jennie's hands. He handed the phone back to Shin. "She won't be needing your number. Carry on, man."
Jen exhaled sharply and stormed off, getting annoyed. Why did they have to do that? That was so rude. She at least wanted to be friends with the guy. What was wrong with that?
Back in their seats, Jen was pissed.
Jimin giggled. "She's mad~."
"Jimin, shut up." She retorted.
"I'm not feelin' that guy, Smartie." Yoongi put his two cents in.
"Yeah, you can do better," Tae replied.
"You'll thank us later," Hobi reassured her.
Jen's mood went back to happiness, acting hyped and fangirling over EXO's performance, as they start with Black Pearl. Baekhyun looked amazing as usual, as she was in awe.
"Really?" Yoongi shook his head. "You are such a girl."
"Don't talk during Baekhyun's parts, hush!"
As the performance progressed, she squealed, "Ahhhh, look at him!" She pointed at, watching Baekhyun sing his verse for Overdose.
"OH, SHE WANTS ME!" She grabbed onto Yoongi, shaking him.
"Cut it out!" He tried to push her off. Hobi, Tae and Jimin laughed at Yoongi's struggle.
Despite the annoyance in some parts, and the nervousness, the MAMA Awards was a success for BTS, and a night they will never forget.
------
Back at the hotel room, Jen shared with Jin, Namjoon and Yoongi, Jen wanted all the members to be in one room, to talk about the restrictions she had against talking to Shin.
"Okay, so are you guys gonna act like you didn't do anything while I was talking to him?" She asked. "What the heck? That was not cool. I'm trying to make more friends in this industry."
"And you will. Just not that guy. Look, you don't need to be around any boys. You should wait." Namjoon spoke up.
"Oh, mah God, I just want to be friends, that's all!"
"I honestly don't see what the damn problem is with her speaking to more boys." Yoongi retorted. "Leave the poor girl alone. She's smart enough to know which guys to watch out for. I just don't approve of that sound engineer. He seems corny. You can do better."
"Does she? This is a different country!" Jin exclaimed.
"So, what?" Yoongi bluntly replied.
"There's guys that want to experiment on foreigners. Especially a girl like her. I'm not letting anyone take advantage of her." Namjoon crossed his arms. "I am not allowing any guys to take advantage of her. Done deal. End of story."
"They won't, I won't let them." Jennie tried to explain.
"Well, you shouldn't just give your number out to just anyone! You never know what will happen, Jennie. You need to get that through your head. Do you know who we are?" Namjoon asked sternly.
Frowning at his lecture, she crossed her arms, stubbornly staying silent for a moment, before mumbling an answer.
"I'm sorry, what was that?"
"I said we're idols..." She grumbled.
"People sharing idols' numbers is common. You must be careful." Hobi advised while the Maknae line watched on, back and forth.
Jen turned to the Maknae line. "Are you guys gonna help me, here?" She gestured, but they shook their heads.
"We're all worried about your safety, too. We agree with the hyungs." Jungkook answered, seriously.
"Are you for real?" Jen shook her head. "I thought you would take my side!"
"Stop trying to argue with it." Namjoon scolded. "That guy seems fishy."
"Stop treating me like a kid!" She snapped
"Well stop acting like one."
Shaking from anger, she growled. "You are just so...UGH! I can't stand you! You don't tell the rest of the Maknae line who they can and cannot talk to, so why me? Un-believable! Are you gonna do this to everyone I talk to now? Because I find it hard to believe that this will be a onetime thing. You're freaking out over nothing! Stop babying me!"
Namjoon sighed out of annoyance, watching her storm out of the room. "Don't slam the-"
BAM
"...She slammed the door." He rubbed his temples.
Jin rushed to the door, opened it, and watched Jennie walk off. "The guys want the chocolate! But they won't get the chocolate! If they want the chocolate, they'll have to go through me!" He shouted as Jennie turned around, confused at his sudden outburst. "And I, Jin, do not approve of any of this! They will not get the chocolate! YOU WILL THANK ME LATER!"
"What is wrong with you!?" She rolled her eyes and got on the elevator.
"Huh? What chocolate? There's no chocolate around here. Is there?" Taehyung looked around the room.
"He...never mind. Forget it Tae." Namjoon shook his head.
Jin, grabbing the Bangtan Bomb camera, began to film. "We the Bangtan Boys have an announcement to make on our Bangtan Girl. To all the men out there. Older and younger." he spoke up.
"If you want to date Miss Bangtan," Namjoon added.
"Date our precious Jennie." Jimin beamed.
"Then you must get the approval of ALL seven of us! Every single one of us." Jin guaranteed.
"We will do background checks." Hobi pointed out.
"Ask about your education and work." Yoongi spoke up.
"And make sure you are good for our Jennie." Tae smiled.
"Ah, but she won't be dating until she's in her 30s. She has plenty of time." Jin smiled innocently.
"Should we start setting curfews for her?"
"Nah, let's not go that far. She'll kill us in our sleep." Namjoon laughed as Jin ended the video.
He knew Jennie would come around. He'll find her and have a long one on one chat. Things got blown out of proportion. But he hoped that when he talks to her, she'll understand where he's coming from. All he wants is to protect her.
After pondering, he exhaled and left the hotel room to go find her. She couldn't have gone far.
Back in the room, Jimin suggested, "What about Jungkookie? Should we set him a curfew?"
"Ah, he's a shy bean, we have nothing to worry about with him." Hobi patted Jungkook on the back.
"I dunno...Jungkookie isn't as innocent as you think." Jimin teased.
"IS THERE SOMETHING I SHOULD KNOW!?" Jin screamed.

oh! i wasn’t expecting such a quick answer so thank you for answering so quickly! uh if it’s not too much, may i ask for a more in-depth explanation for heartslabyul, ruggie, vil, and floyd? i mostly agree with your opinions but i’m just curious on how you decided on these specifically :0
No worries! I tend to prioritize asks that interest me when they're quick (though for the most part I do work for my askbox, semi in-order lmao). I've been neck deep in character analysis brain, too, so this helps me feel that out.
Riddle Rosehearts (Anxious): Part of my reasoning here is that Riddle's childhood is pretty much the textbook guide for "how to create an anxiously attached child". He had parents who largely provided for his needs, but who's affection was entirely contingent on his own performance. He extends that reasoning outward, often fretting about his dormmates while at the same time assuming that the right way to care for a child is to push them to their limits before you praise them. Its rare we see him interacting with people who he views as equals, and yet I'd argue with Trey and Cater we see Riddle showing very clear terror of being left behind and abandoned, which he offsets through demonstrating his intelligence and power as currency to acquire love.
Trey Clover (Secure): The guy's not without his baggage, tending closer to some Avoidant traits than most. However, ultimately I think Trey is pretty able to make and keep relationships. He seems to have come from a very loving and supportive family, is able to maintain his boundaries pretty easily overall, and doesn't really suffer from much emotional angst about how much he's liked. Again, its not that he never has unhealthy relationships, but that he's more likely to wait until they actually go bad to worry about it, rather than get in his own head before anything goes south.
Cater Diamond (Mixed): There's a push and pull with Cater in relationships. He has a decided vacuum for validation in his heart that he supplements by fishing for that praise with other people (as well as complimenting himself lmao). However, he's also prone to put distance between himself and others. Cater's careful to present only the most palatable version of himself, and never let anyone in close enough to see the cracks. A side effect of being raised with older sisters who treated him like a doll and discarded him when he wasn't being cute. Cater struggles to put boundaries in place or no when he's going over his limits. Its easier to pretend he just doesn't have any.
Ace Trappola (Secure): I've said it before and will say it again, Ace comes from one of the most functional home lives in all of Twisted Wonderland. He has positive and meaningful relationships with his brother and father. He's confident in his ability to make friends, but also doesn't particularly let it get to him when someone doesn't like him. Ace is also very upfront with his emotional needs, and while he can be oblivious to other people once he knows the problem he's always prepared to offer help. That boy is as secure as secure can be.
Deuce Spade (Secure): First of all I'm not tolerating Mama Spade slander. Second of all: much like Trey is mostly Secure with some Avoidant tendences, Deuce is Secure with some Anxious tendencies. He's not entirely self-confident. After everything that happened in middle school he very much has something to prove to other people. However, for the most part, Deuce trusts other people, which is something you don't see in people with attachment difficulties. He's upfront about his feelings, even if he doesn't see them as all-important, and he's quick to bond with others.
Ruggie Bucchi (Mixed): As I've said forever and will continue to say for the rest of time. Ruggie identifies with Leona. He knows what it feels like to put up walls around your wants and needs. Self-sufficiency is a necessity where he comes from, and he learned it as early as he could. At the same time, though, Ruggie can't cut off the part of him that desires to be validated in the same way that Leona can. Its part of the reason he sticks so close to him. As long as Leona needs him, puts up with him, even cares for him in his way, then he can hold everyone else at arms length without worrying about being left too lonely.
Floyd Leech(Mixed): Floyd's tricky because he puts up the same exact front as Jade. Everything's fine. He doesn't need anyone but his brother. Nor does the guy really seem to suffer from any crises of confidence when it comes to socializing. He broadcasts every want, no matter how trivial. However, as a person with roughly the same bag of tricks in my brain as Floyd. I'd say that the consistent mood switches seem pretty reminiscent of social overwhelm, and the fact that he doesn't seem to recognize it as such is a pretty good indication to me that its an attachment style issue. There's always a trigger when Floyd's mood switches, no matter how seemingly meaningless, and I'd argue its him reaching a limit on a need that he barely even acknowledges. There's rarely a real pattern. Sometimes his funloving, exciteable side is a way of holding others at arms length, while other times its a way of seeking out affection and validation. On the flip side, his moodier and angry side can be a way of pushing other people away, but it can also be a way of (admittedly unhealthily) communicating that he doesn't feel the kind of love and affection he needs. It gets written off as his personality, and to some extent it is. But at the risk of making it too deep, I think there are some more deepseated issues that he hasn't really unpacked.
Vil Schoenheit (Mixed): I clock Vil as a mixed attachment type for roughly the same reasons I clock Cater. He's got a deep well of need for affirmation, which is part of what pushes him so far to perfect himself. At the same time, though, I think Vil really resents legitimate attempts to emotionally reach out to him. He keeps people at arms length for a reason. They can admire the art, but they can't touch it. As a result his friendship can sometimes be a bit on the shallow side, primarily founded in their admiration for Vil. Any actual relationship practically has to be snuck in on the side.

The Wrong Lifetime – Four // Wanda Maximoff
chapter three | story masterlist | main masterlist | wattpad | chapter five
author’s note: I hope you all don’t mind the slow burn because it’s like my favourite thing and i promise things will get spicy soon 😂
Since my rather abrupt revelation about Wanda, I found myself racked with guilt.
Not because she was a girl – I couldn't help my feelings in that sense – but because she was my brother's fiancé. And every time he came to me, gushing about how great of a date they had or how much he was falling for her, the guilt hit me like a sharp pain in the chest, because I understood what he was saying. I felt the same.
And it didn't help when they would occasionally go on dates in front of me, and all I could feel was an unexplainable jealousy in the pit of my stomach. I had no right to feel like this when she was an engaged woman. Her naturally flirtatious personality was simply that: a personality. And even though we'd had a genuinely lovely day a week ago when she invited me to her home, it was no reason for me to think of her in such a way.
The next date on Y/B/N and Wanda's journey to marriage was at our house in the garden. I wasn't actually aware of it until I saw them sat on some garden furniture.
My mum wanted me to help her with some gardening and I found her kneeling by some plant pots, a fair distance away from Wanda and my brother. As I approached her, I glanced in the couple's direction, seeing them sat opposite one another and enjoying a selection of finger foods and tea. They were far away enough to have privacy, but close enough for me to make out their expressions.
"For goodness sake, Y/N," my mother said when I kneeled down beside her to help. "Do you have to wear those horrendous trousers?"
I rolled my eyes, sitting on the ground comfortably. "I'm curious, mother. Do you like anything that I do?"
She gave me a disapproving glance. "I'm only looking out for you, dear. That outfit is very... unladylike."
"Well, they're comfortable," I quipped, before grabbing a spade and getting to work.
"So are dresses," she pointed out, continuing repotting her plants. "And they're prettier, too."
"Considering I have to wear a dress all the time and that I'm in the comfort of my own home, I'm going to pretend you didn't just make me feel bad for wearing these."
She didn't say anything, but I could tell she wasn't happy. I didn't mind wearing dresses, but I would be lying if I said trousers weren't more comfortable. The only time I could wear them was at home when doing chores or simply lounging around. I'd make the most of it whilst I could, no matter what comments my mother made.
I wasn't afraid to get my hands dirty as I helped her repot the plants before digging into the soil and planting some seeds she'd bought this morning. My mother, despite adoring gardening, hated getting messy, so you can imagine the look on her face when I got soil all over my clothes.
"I wish you would act like a lady sometimes," she mumbled to herself, but I didn't let it faze me. It was all I heard, so I was used to it.
Laughter sounded from behind us and I risked glancing back, seeing Wanda laughing at something Y/B/N said. I rolled my eyes subconsciously before looking back to what I was doing. My fingernails dug into the soil with irritation, directed at them and also myself. Though, despite my irritation, I still had an urge to glance back at Wanda, and when I did she was looking my way this time. A mere glance on her part, but she directed a smile my way before looking to my brother again.
I'd like to say that was it, but I continued to steal glances of her as I worked alongside my mum, taking what I could get as I admired her from afar.
She looked stunning today, as she always did. Her long curls were left out, flowing over her shoulders and pretty green dress; I wasn't close enough to be able to tell, but I was sure that her dress complimented her eyes. A dark forest green colour with golden flecks, matching the deep green of her dress. Or so I assumed.
"They seem like they're getting on well," my mum said at one point, earning my attention. She was talking about Y/B/N and Wanda as she continued, "They make such a lovely couple."
I swallowed hard, nodding lamely. "They sure do, mum."
She gave me a sideways glance. "You know, your brother will be married soon and then it will be your turn."
I groaned quietly, knowing where this was going. There was no point trying to stop her because once she started, that was it.
"You can't just keep locking yourself in your room and writing stories," she was saying, but I attempted to tune her out which sometimes felt impossible since she had no off button and her shrill voice always managed to break through my bubble. "You have to find a husband. An actual person who you can marry and who can take care of you."
"I can take care of myself."
"Y/N, you know that's not what I mean..." but I stopped listening as she got started going on another ramble about the benefits of having a husband.
Instead, my eyes darted around the garden until they naturally gravitated towards Wanda. It was definitely the wrong time to get distracted by her though, since she seemed to be sucking some food off her thumb. As she did, her eyes found mine and she took that as her opportunity to wink in my direction playfully, hiding a smile as her thumb remained between her teeth. Y/B/N didn't seem to notice, as he was looking the other way, and I felt my cheeks heating up as I looked away quickly, remembering my dream.
She's going to marry your brother. She's going to marry your brother. She's going to marry your brother.
A stupid mantra that didn't work, but I attempted to drill it into my brain anyway.
"...and it would be nice to be able to do all the wedding stuff for you next time around," my mum continued to ramble, unaware of my flustered self.
The image of Wanda sucking her thumb was permanently engraved in my head and I struggled to wish it away. No more staring for today, I told myself, before getting lost in gardening again.
After ten more minutes of nonstop nattering about finding a husband for me, my mother excused herself to refill the watering can. I was grateful for her momentary absence, appreciating the silence and lack of guilt-tripping. Until I heard footsteps behind me shortly after, making me groan loudly.
"I'm not finding a husband right now!" I snapped, unable to take it any longer. But when I spun around to give her a piece of my mind, my mouth hung open like a fish out of water.
"I'd sure hope not," Wanda answered with a stifled laugh. "Then I'd have to share your company with somebody else."
Closing my mouth and standing up, I cleared my throat. "Sorry. I thought you were my mum."
She nodded, eyes roaming my whole body for a second, making me nervous under her stare. I hadn't actually seen her since my inappropriate dream and it was growing increasingly difficult to be so close to her without thinking about it.
"I figured. I just wanted to say hi," she said, expression softening as she met my eyes.
I was right about the dress bringing her eyes out more. A forest green colour, as I'd predicted.
"Hi," I said, giving her a small, nervous smile. "Erm, how is your date going?"
She shrugged, raising her hand to hold her forearm comfortably. "It's okay. It's wonderful out here, I'll give him that."
Relaxing into the conversation, my awkwardness fading already, I smiled in agreement. "Yeah, it is pretty."
A smirk appeared on her lips. "Yeah. So are the gardeners."
Admittedly, it took me a few seconds longer than it should have to realise she was talking about me. When I did, I felt a heat creeping up my neck and to my face and looked to the grass to distract myself. See, when she did stuff like that, it made me question a hell of a lot.
She chuckled. "So, gardening. Another dislike of yours?"
I shook my head, risking looking back up to her. "No, actually. I don't mind it. I'm just not a fan when it gives my mother an opportunity to discuss marriage."
Wanda's interested was piqued as she quirked a brow. "Oh? Your mother has suitors for you?"
I squeezed my eyes shut at the possibility, shaking my head. "I'd rather not ask, Wanda."
She let out a short laugh. "You've got time anyway. At least until Y/B/N and I are married."
I hoped she didn't see the involuntary wince I did at the mention of that. "Honestly, I'm not even thinking about that now... I'm nowhere near ready for that."
"Would you not want to get married?" she asked curiously, tilting her head to the side.
I sighed, looking around, unable to keep my eyes still. "I don't know, I guess? Eventually? But to somebody I love, not some arranged marriage just for the sake of it." My words sank in quite quickly and I straightened up, instantly looking to Wanda with apologetic eyes. "Bloody hell, that is not what I meant to say–"
"It's fine," she reassured me with a smile that didn't reach her eyes. "I get it. And, well, you're not wrong."
I smiled halfheartedly, the guilt at my previous words still present. I could honestly say that I wasn't aiming that comment at her, but I wouldn't blame her if she took it that way.
"It's important to fall in love with the person you marry," she said, gaze locked on mine. "You have to learn about them, who they are. Their likes, their dislikes. Their personality. If they have a sense of humour or if they're as dry as cardboard. If they're into you as much as you're into them."
Nodding slowly, I wasn't sure what to say. My mouth went dry the longer she watched me, eyes dancing with an emotion I couldn't recognise. Then her eyes fell to my lips and my knees began to shake subtly, wanting to give in because of how confused I was.
"Y/N, dear, don't dirty Wanda's dress with your muddy hands!" my mum called, breaking the strange silence that had built between the brunette and I.
Stepping back with realisation (and grateful for the interruption), I wiped my hands on my shirt subconsciously, making a further mess of my already mud-stained clothes. "Sorry."
When I looked up, Wanda was chewing on her lip, eyes doing a once over on me yet again. It was moments like this when I couldn't tell if she was teasing me or if she actually had an interest in me, maybe, like that.
"Wanda, honey, let's get you inside," my mum spoke, approaching the two of us and looking to her.
Nodding, Wanda glanced at me once more, shooting me a sweet smile, before being led away by my mum. I breathed out slowly, knowing it was wrong of me to feel this way about her. But it was hard not to fall for her when she had so much about her that was interesting.
Her passion for art, her teasing, playful attitude, her sense of humour... and then there were the physical aspects, like her beaming smile, her luxuriant brown hair and her entrancing hazel eyes. She was literally perfect and my brother was one lucky man. For once in my life, I was actually jealous of something he had that I didn't.
"Y/N!"
Speaking of the devil...
"Y/B/N, hey," I said with a smile as he approached me with an extra jump in his step. "What's up?"
Grin on his lips, he smacked my arm. "Did you see, Wanda? Didn't she look stunning?"
The guilt was cutting real deep. "She did."
"I think I'm in love," he gushed, eyes rolling backwards with delight. "She's perfect, Y/N, you don't get it."
"I can imagine...," I mumbled, but he barely noticed, too lovestruck to realise.
"Every date I've been on with her has been amazing," he continued. "If we weren't already engaged, I would've proposed!"
I raised my eyebrows with surprise, definitely not expecting this. He'd made his attraction to her known since the moment we'd met her, constantly talking about how gorgeous she was, but he'd never sounded happier than he did now.
"Mum adores her," he said with a content smile. "Dad would probably marry her if we was thirty years younger. And you–" He looked to me gratefully. "You're making an effort and I appreciate it."
Oh, God, the guilt was overwhelming.
"Everything is going perfectly," he finished with a sigh. "I just– I can't wait to marry her, Y/N."
I smiled for his sake, but my insides were shrivelling up and failing me. I was a horrible person, wasn't I? What kind of monster falls for her brother's fiancé? Me. I'm the monster. But not anymore. I couldn't let this get out of hand. I had to do better.
I promised myself I'd do better.
—
Doing better was going well, I'd like to think. I mean, it had only been two weeks, so I couldn't guarantee, but I was no longer having... thoughts... about the Maximoff in question.
Yes, there was that familiar inkling of jealousy tugging away in my stomach whenever Y/B/N would talk about her, but I think I was getting better at ignoring it. I had convinced myself that my feelings towards Wanda were not true but merely a schoolgirl crush (which I wasn't allowed to have, but still) and that I'd get over it after some time.
I'd liked, maybe two girls in my life before her. The first being when I was a child, about five, and a girl in my class did something different to her hair. If I remember correctly, she always had one ponytail that sat at the back of her neck, then one day, she came in with two braids down her head and it really wasn't a massive change, but five year old me developed a huge crush on her. That was when I learnt that a girl liking a girl was not only forbidden, but viewed as a sin.
The second girl I liked was in my Literature class in secondary school. She was probably the first person I'd fallen for in a way that was considered more than a simple crush. Something about her way with words was so attractive to me, as was the cute smile she'd send my way whenever she'd be my partner for an assignment. I never told her how I felt for she only ever treated me as a friend and the last thing I wanted was to bring shame to my family for liking girls.
Those instances, and the fact that I regularly found myself admiring women in a way I found incapable with men, made me realise I was different and I always would be. And so, the chatter about finding a husband and getting married always scared me because I was afraid that I'd be stuck in a place that I would never get to be myself in. Even though that was the reality of most women anyway.
So, in addition to the fact that it was wrong of me to like women (though it felt anything but) and that the woman I liked now was my brother's fiancé, I convinced myself it was just a mere crush I had on Wanda. She was a pretty girl with an attractive personality and that was it.
Or so I thought.
"Go get your brother, Y/N," my mum said one evening. "He's in his study. Dinner is almost ready."
I nodded and headed to my brother's study across the hall. He was sat at his desk, focusing on something specific that he was writing and barely acknowledging my presence. I glanced around the room, taking in the bookshelves filled with manuscripts, both published and unpublished, and notebooks of ideas piled on desks.
I wasn't jealous of this place, I really wasn't. And I wasn't jealous of my brother either, even when he got credit for things I'd written. I was just angry and hurt that I couldn't have the some privileges he got, such as his own personal study to write whatever he pleased.
"Dinner's almost ready," I called to him from the doorway. "C'mon."
He didn't turn around as he answered, "I'll be with you, one second."
Curious to what had captured his attention, I pushed myself from the doorway and approached his desk. He had a lamp turned on, the yellow light lighting the page he was scribbling on. I peeked over his shoulder and saw him pause from writing, stuck in thought. It gave me the chance to read some words and I tried not to laugh.
"Oh my god, is that a love letter?"
Surprised at my presence, he covered the page with his elbows and leaned on them, looking to me with red cheeks.
"What? No, that's... no," he stumbled out, shaking his head.
Stifled smile on my lips, I looked to him with humoured eyes. "You have to let me read it."
He shook his head frantically, trying to play it cool. "I don't think I can do that."
Well, now I was really curious.
"C'mon, I've read pretty much everything you've ever written," I told him, perching myself on the edge of his desk. "Just a little read and I'll drop it."
Pondering my words, he slowly began to straighten up, uncovering the page. With a sigh of submission, he nodded to it, wordlessly giving me permission to look. I grinned, grabbing the page and holding it to the light so I could read it.
It was mostly ramblings – unfinished sentences, phrases, clauses – but it was all about a certain someone, a love letter as I predicted. It talked about this person's body and lips and humour and fingers and because I was so caught up in teasing my brother, I failed to realise that I was reading about Wanda. At least until it mentioned her accent.
My smile faded when I saw the way he wrote about her, with such passion and ferocity and– he was seriously in love with her. And it may or may not have stung a little because everything he'd written was accurate and I felt the same way. Well, not the in love bit, but pretty much everything else.
"So? Is it bad?" he asked nervously, and I lowered the page to see he was waiting for a verdict. "It's messy, I know. I was just journaling and then it kind of happened."
"It's sweet," I told him truthfully, offering him a reassuring smile.
His shoulders relaxed as I put the page back on the desk before him. "Thank you, Y/N." He paused, before glancing up at me sheepishly. "Now that you're here, you may as well tell me if there's anything I can do to improve."
I raised my eyebrows. "Why? Are you planning on giving this to her?"
He shook his head instantly. "No, oh God, no. That would be severely humiliating. I just thought you could help me for me. You always make my writing better."
I snickered, shaking my head with amusement. Behind the scenes was where I thrived apparently.
"Quickly," I told him as he held out the paper to me. "Mum is waiting for us."
He nodded obediently and I took the paper from his grasp, getting another look at it. Skimming it with my eyes yet again, I found the first criticism and pointed to it so he could see.
"This bit here," I said gently. "You talk about her eyes and say they're magnetic."
"Is that not good?" he asked with a frown.
"It is, it is," I said politely, not wanting to offend him. "But that's all you've written. You want to give the reader a reason to believe you. Why are they magnetic? What about them do you find yourself attracted to?"
He nodded, seeming to get it. Leaning back in his seat, he had a think. I waited patiently, curious to what he would come up with, but then he sighed defeatedly and looked to me.
"What would you write?" he asked, and I smiled with disbelief. It always ended up like this. Me helping him, challenging him with a thought, then him ending up using what I say.
"Okay, let me think," I said, crossing my arms and staring ahead. "Wanda's eyes."
"Here," Y/B/N said, making a gesture to placing something invisible on my head. When I quirked a brow of confusion, he added, "It's your thinking cap."
I rolled my eyes but laughed quietly at his stupidity, then tried to think about what to describe Wanda's eyes as.
It wasn't difficult to imagine them despite having not seen them in a few days. They were always bright, animated, lively. Whether it was green, blue or brown, they were irresistible and as my brother wrote, they were magnetic.
I breathed out, speaking from the heart without thinking. "When Wanda Maximoff looks into your eyes it's like she holds all of the elements in a single gaze. At times, they're greener than the earth itself, captivating and tranquil and daring you to look away. But then they're also bluer than the brightest of skies and darkest of oceans, deep and and liberating and easy for you to get swallowed up in."
A smile fell on my lips at the thought. She truly was something.
I continued slowly, "In the light, you can make out golden flecks, like the first sliver of the sun in Spring. It's hopeful and guiding and fills you with warmth. But what isn't obvious upon first glance is how tempestuous they are, like air itself. She's got a passion behind her eyes that is scary at first, but when you get to know her, you realise that it's a storm worth raging."
It went quiet when I finished and I zoned back into reality, Wanda's eyes blinking away from my mind in an instant. I pursed my lips and looked to Y/B/N with mild concern, realising just how much I'd rambled. He raised his eyebrows with surprise, staring at me.
"Y/N, that was amazing! How did you think of that?" he asked in bewilderment.
I shrugged, feeling my face heat up with embarrassment. "I don't know. I just thought about a random set of hazel eyes and applied my thoughts to it."
He smiled, impressed. "Amazing. I love it."
Grabbing a pen, he began to write furiously on the page and I stood up, dusting myself off.
"You sure that's not going to her?" I asked, still feeling fuzzy from what I'd said and hoping she'd never see it.
"Very sure," he promised, not looking up. "It's just for me."
I studied him judgementally. "Okay, well, maybe get rid of that part about her breasts then. It's a little creepy."
He looked up to me with a boyish grin. "I'm only a man, Y/N. Can you blame me?"
I rolled my eyes, shuddering at what he was implying. The mere implication of a thought of him and Wanda... nope, I didn't want to go there.
"I'll see you at dinner," I said, pointing a thumb over my shoulder. "Try to hurry, yeah?"
"Yes, I'll be right with you," he assured me, his hand moving in a flurry as he wrote. "Just writing what you said so I don't forget. Could be good for a future book, who knows?"
I forced a smile, humming in agreement. "Right. Well, I'll see you at the table."
He nodded and I left his room, letting out a deep breath. Just another day in the Y/L/N household.
—
Popping into town for errands was surprisingly not a task I found boring. If anything, I preferred it, using it as a chance to get away from my mother's incessant marriage-related conversations and my father's constant praising for anything Y/B/N did. Nowadays, it was also a way to escape anything wedding-related, which was a plus.
This time, I was only nipping out to return a book to the library, but my mum caught me before leaving and asked me to deliver some letters to the post office since I was already heading that way. Happy to prolong this outing as much as possible, I accepted the errand and headed to the post office after returning my book.
When I was there, an advertisement caught my eye. A chalkboard outside the store displayed a deal the train station were doing. I probably would have ignored it if it weren't for the mention of Blackpool.
2 FOR 1 ON BLACKPOOL TRAIN TICKETS THIS WEEKEND
Remembering my conversation with Wanda, I realised I hadn't actually followed up with her on my promise of taking her there to paint. She probably didn't even remember, since it was a while ago when we spoke of it, but the idea of going there with her made me excited. Was it stupid to get the tickets? Probably. But did I go inside and get them? Of course.
It was only when I got home did I realise how silly it was. Would she even want to go? What if she made an excuse to get out of it? Oh, this whole thing was stupid. I was overthinking it. Friends went on day trips all the time, it's wasn't a big deal.
To my surprise, when I poked my head into the living room to tell my mum I'd posted her letters, Wanda was sat on the couch with her. They were drinking some tea and having scones, chatting away. I'd called my mum before noticing, so when they looked my way, I clumsily entered and straightened up to make myself look presentable.
"Sorry, I didn't know you had company," I apologised with an awkward smile, eyes flickering to a smiling Wanda before looking to my mum. "I just wanted to let you know that I dropped the letters off by the post office."
"Perfect, Y/N, thank you," she said in response, before looking to the setup before her. "You can join us if you'd like."
I was quick to smile gratefully, though shook my head. "It's okay, you guys enjoy. I'll just be in my room if you need me."
My mum shrugged, sipping her tea, and Wanda watched me with a small smile, nodding in greeting, before looking away. I licked my lips uncomfortably before backing out the room and heading upstairs.
I was working on yet another manuscript that wouldn't see the light of day at my desk when I heard a knock on my door about an hour later.
"Come in!" I called, not looking up.
The door opened and I finished my train of thought before turning around, surprised to see Wanda walking into my room.
"Oh, hi," I got out suddenly, words falling from my mouth without me thinking first.
She smiled softly, stopping before me. "Hey. I'm heading home now, but I just wanted to say goodbye."
I stared at her, forgetting how to speak because she was wearing a lovely floral dress that complimented her figure perfectly.
"Oh, and I thought you might like these," she added before forgetting, then held out a box towards me.
Recovering from my initial stupor, I reached out and accepted the box, realising they were chocolates.
"I got them for your mum, but she said she's not a fan of hazelnut," she explained, and I looked up to see her looking elsewhere with a nervous smile on her lips. "You don't have to have them of course. I can just... eat them myself."
An amused smile tugged at my lips as I quirked a brow. "You'd eat them all yourself?"
She was very much aware of how silly she sounded, but she was adamant on appearing confident, so she nodded with certainty. "Yes... apparently I would."
Lighthearted laughter escaped my lips as I set the box to the side. She was trying to stand her ground, but then she sighed and began to laugh, too. My heart fluttered in my chest at the sound and I appreciated the crinkle by her eyes when her smile widened.
"Thank you," I said, settling on a smile as I watched her with amusement.
She nodded, smile of her own still present, before pointing behind her. "I'll, erm, go now."
When she turned to leave, I felt inclined to say, "Wait!"
She paused, turning around patiently, and I knew there was no going back now. Standing up, I grabbed my purse from the side and pulled out the train tickets.
"When I was out today, I saw that the train station were doing this deal on tickets to Blackpool," I started, hoping she couldn't see my hands trembling slightly. "And I remembered that I promised to take you so you could see the water." I closed my eyes, praying that this wouldn't be a mistake, before opening them and looking to Wanda. "We can go, if you'd still like to."
She raised her eyebrows, eyes glued to the tickets in my hand. No words were being said and my heart thumped in my chest with the realisation that I may have done something insanely stupid. Before I could even think to apologise, a grin spread across her face and her dazzling blue eyes met mine, freezing me in place.
"Are you serious? Y/N, I'd love to!" she exclaimed, then proceeded to launch herself onto me, arms wrapping tightly around my neck.
I gulped as she did, not expecting that reaction, but returned the hug by folding my arms around her waist loosely. She smelt really good, which was probably wrong of me to note, and I enjoyed the feeling of her so close to me, also wrong of me to note.
"Okay, well, the tickets are for this weekend," I said, desperately trying not to stammer when she pulled away. "I can meet you at the station in the morning. Eight."
Her eyes danced with excitement as she accepted the ticket I held out to her. I reminded myself that this was just a friendly day trip and nothing more.
"Eight," she confirmed, attempting to stifle her eagerness by biting her lip and nodding.
I swallowed hard, trying ever-so-hard not to let my gaze drop to her lips. Because then I'd think about kissing her and that was definitely not what I should be thinking about my soon-to-be sister-in-law.
Oh, God, I was screwed.

Ok for that multimuse grape vine meme *cracks knuckles*
🍇 Kai x Zephyr about each other?
💞 Maddy’s thoughts on possible Luna x Minwoo? 👀 or Peter…or both 👀 + Eve’s thoughts on Maddy x Min?
📂 Hazel’s thoughts on our Mer au kai x min thread? Or zephyr’s thoughts??
👍 something Maddy likes about Luna and Luna likes about Maddy? And something Kai and Zephyr like about Hazel (and Hazel likes about them???)
🍇 - Muse A to comment on Muse B’s eating habit (favorite food, least favorite, eating etiquette, ect) -- Kai & Zephyr
"Zephyr's eating habits are honestly quite shameful. The amount of meat I have seen this bird scarf down throughout our traveling is really sickening," Kai manages to say with a relatively straight face, a slight shiver of disgust running down his spine. "The worst part of it is that he favors fish! He openly flaunts his fish tacos and wild salmon in front of my face and expects me to just accept it. I almost smacked him because a piece of dead fish landed on my plate once." The siren sighs, shaking his head. "I got him back though," he smirks, "He found an unsettling pile of birdseed in his meals for a week."
"Kai is a little too special about his food. Most of the time, he's complaining about there not being enough sea-friendly meals," Zephyr rolls his eyes. "I mean, the dude doesn't just go out there and try some food, y'know? I get the whole 'no-fish' thing, but it gets annoying sometimes when you kindly offer something to someone, and they just don't want it because they're picky." He sighs. "One thing I can commend him on: he makes a really mean, vegan scallops dish. It tastes so good."
💞- Muse A to comment on Muse B’s relationships and/or people they know
Maddy on Luna x Minwoo:
"Luna and Minwoo? Well, I know they both make an excellent babysitting team! Whenever Min and I are out, they always take really good care of them and the girls absolutely love their auntie and uncle," she says, absentmindedly writing down some errands for work. "Well, come to think of it, Penelope has asked if they were together, since they are auntie and uncle...I think I might be able to see it? Luna is really secretive about her love interests, and I don't want to bother her with any personal questions or assume otherwise. Minwoo is a sweetheart, but I don't know if Luna would be too much for him?" her brows furrow. "I don't mean to be condescending about Luna's behavior but she can be a little...intense, sometimes. Minwoo’s more gentle and soft-spoken, compared to her. Then again, Minwoo might just be the right person to anchor her when it all gets to be too much. They could easily balance each other out, too. Whatever they choose, I will definitely support it!"
Maddy on Luna x Peter:
"Luna and Peter?" lips pout in pensive thought. "...I will assume you mean university Peter and not her brother, considering the circumstances. But I do think they'd compliment each other very well! I mean, we all went to uni together and Peter and Luna had a history of joking around with each other. I did sense that maybe something was there, and maybe something had happened between them before? Once, when Luna was really drunk, she briefly mentioned that Peter looked really nice in scrubs," Maddy giggles. "It was the first I'd heard of something like that from her. Besides, I'd only ever seen Peter wear scrubs at work, so Luna must've stumbled upon him at the hospital. Regardless, if they do like each other and want to give it a try, I will definitely support it!"
Eve on Maddy x Minjae:
"Oh my god, fucking adorable. Seriously! Look, normally, couples that are into the cute, lovey-dovey shit, make me gag a lil' bit, but not these two. Yes, I'm biased because she's my sister, and I haven't seen her in a long time, but there's something about the way they do it," Eve explains, face lit up. "Like, holy shit, I have NEVER seen two people simp over each other so much. It's a healthy simping, mind you, and there's nothing toxic that I've noticed or heard from Maddy. Plus, Maddy has told me, in great detail, how much she loves that man. Makin' me feel jealous sometimes," she laughs. "In all seriousness though, they really are wonderful together. After what Maddy and I had been through, it’s relieving to see someone love and accept her for who she is.”
📂 - Muse A to comment something about a current thread of Muse B’s
Hazel’s reaction to Kai and merman!Minjae thread:
The redhead’s face betrays her concern for once, worry tainting her irises. “I would assume Kai to be more cautious, especially concerning such a dangerous task as this. One small mistake and, not only would he risk his own life, but his brother’s, Minjae’s, and Madeline’s. Perhaps...if he had only gone through with his mission, only one life would’ve been taken and this could have all been avoided. Sadly, it is that small portion of humanity in him that has caused him to stray,” she shakes her head. “And Minjae? Dead weight. He has no reason to be there and is intentionally jeopardizing Kai and his own life. Could he not call upon the mers to assist them both? They could offer much more protection and defense than the sirens.”
Zephyr’s reaction to Kai and merman!Minjae thread:
“Y’know, I really gotta commend Kai on his choices. Yes, some of them were dumb and I’m sure Hazel will disagree with me, but hear me out on this,” he begins, sitting up straighter. “He had a mission to do, a fairly difficult one. I mean, I get it, you gotta kill someone because they could easily be the cause of your and your people’s death. Since Kai is a rule follower, of course, he would go forth in doing that mission. But Kai is also not that cold-hearted, unlike the rest of the sirens. So, this conflict between him and Minjae, over killing an innocent human who, really, has an innocent belief in mermaids and sirens, is understandable. Kai decided to follow his heart and it ended up getting him a new best friend and the ability to love which, I think, is BEAUTIFUL,” Zephyr explains. “Biggest mistake though? Staying. Near. The. Beach. He’s got connections, right? Get your ass to the desert! Nobody’s gonna follow you there, trust me.”
👍 - something Muse A likes about Muse B
Maddy about Luna:
“I would say Luna’s bravery. Luna has always had a very strong personality and she is not afraid of being outspoken or facing situations head on. She never seems afraid of anything, no matter how big or small. She definitely inspires me to not be so afraid of certain situations or people, nor to be so quiet about something that I’m uncomfortable with.”
Luna about Maddy:
“Her kindness. Never, in all my life, have I met someone as nice as Maddy,” she states bluntly. “Coming from a terrible neighborhood and being around only shitty people, Maddy was nothing like anyone I had come across. Didn’t matter how terrible someone was, she would not stop being kind. Pissed me off at first, yeah, but that’s who she is. It’s helped me to not be such an asshole...sometimes.”
Kai about Hazel:
“Must I narrow it down to just one thing?” Kai laughs, clearing his throat. “Hmm...Hazel’s wisdom. Ever since we met, Hazel had this old soul, as deep as Voda’s main ocean. She always knows what to say, regardless of what we’re doing. She’s helped me out of many difficult situations and skyrocketed our squadron to the elites. Her words are forever powerful and it never fails to amaze me to what she’ll say next.”
Zephyr about Hazel:
“Hmm, I’d say her leadership. I mean, she’s obviously our squadron leader, right?” he chuckles, chewing at his bottom lip. “Hazel has always had this natural leadership aspect. In our final training days, when they were feeling out which groups would go better together, we were joined up and we all just naturally turned to her. She’s got her flaws, yeah, but she takes full responsibility of everything we do and leads fairly and justly...and I think that’s pretty admirable.”
Hazel about Kai and Zephyr:
“They both have their own sorts of quirks that I appreciate. With Kai, I would say that I like his loyalty. Kai’s people greatly value loyalty and he has come to encompass that, wherein you may trust that he will remain faithful. Never has he abandoned his post or given reason to any of us to distrust him. Concerning Zephyr, I like his lightheartedness. We are one of the more serious squadrons and we tend to get major tasks that do not allow room for any dilly-dallying. So, it is a breath of fresh air to have someone joke around and help us relax...in a reasonable manner, of course.”

(long-ish addition probably)
Ok so, this wasn't quite the beginning but the first part of it that I remember is that, it was nighttime and I was filming a football game that was going on in the distance that I was able to see down onto because I was I was in a high-up room with glass windows. I wasn't sure what I was thinking, but I assume this was considered my home, and alot of people cared about the game so I filmed some of it and posted it to Snapchat. Fade to black.
I wake up (in the dream) on the side of a soft couch, behind an island kitchenette in the hallway of an apartment building or some sort of fancy dormitory. I get up, confused. I don't understand how I got here. I have a suitcase, and I'm wearing a striped t-shirt and cargo shorts (as I often do). I sit up and my head feels swimmy, like I'm just on the tail end of being drunk/drugged. So it sit there for a while studying the place. Very modern, and overall slate grey in color. The walls are grey wooden tiled, and the floors are smooth and cold. Some polished wood supports compliment the grey. It's very modern. To the left of me, the large door opens and people that I recognise from highschool walk past me and go to their rooms, some glancing and trying to smile at me. I look down and ignore them (as I often did). Then I hear a very familiar voice, it's a friend from highschool that I won't name here. He says it's been a while and wants to know how my trip was, (I tell him I can't remember anything past an hour ago) and if I'm glad to have my own home in here. Confused, I simply comply and say yes, then ask where the shower is (it's a separate stalled shower in a diff. hallway). He points me to it, I go in and see it's fully occupied so I ask him to point me to my own place. He says it down the opposite hall. He says "you'll like it" or something like that. At this point I notice that the rooms are labeled with last names facing outward.
While I'm walking I bump into a friend who I'm closer with, we hug and say hello and we're happy to see each other. We talk for a little while, and another person starts talking to us. The third person (still based on someone I used to know) says she wants to know my reaction to my place after i come back out. So I unlock the door and go in. It's wonderful. Very modern, and grey, white and blue in color. The entrance is a wide open space, with a kitchen on one side and a bedroom towards the back of the other. 'Never thought I'd have my own place in Manhattan, and this big!' I thought. 'how on Earth are we affording this?' Near the front, there's an aquarium on either side of the door with all sort of sleek, silver fish. But in one tank, I notice three rays, all with a wing broken/ripped off to varying degrees. I step outside and tell her abt it ad ask her why the hell they're in there. She nonchalantly acknowledges it ("they do look like they're on their way out"). Furious, Im internally yelling at her but calmly ask her to have them removed and properly rehabilitated later. She agrees and leaves. I go into my bedroom, change into just a towel so I can shower, but then I panic cause I think I've forgotten a bag in the lobby(??? I don't really remember this part)) so I run out and grab my old friend who I was talking to before I went in. She gladly says she'll tell me a faster way there. "If u go through this exit right here, there's a way into a lobby that's actually not all the way at the bottom floor. That way you can come back and have your shower really fast!" She says with a laugh. So I followed her instructions noticing that the label to her room is down a hallway adjacent to mine. I leave through a door, a hallway and a big beige door and into what looks like a mall/casino. "Oh shit" I think to myself as I walk around fumbling to properly tie this towel that keeps moving around (the dark blue towel is silky and smooth which isn't a good combination when you have a big chest).
I go to the lobby that was indeed on the same floor but still a few ways away, and two security men I walk past are eyeing me w/ suspicion bc I'm just walking around in a damn towel. I ask the clerk there if she'd seen a brown bag with my name on it. She says no but she can ask the other clerks and get back to me in an hour or two. I thank her and walk back in the direction of the exit I came from. I walk and walk and walk but I can't find it. So I turn around and walk back, I pass even the floors lobby with the same clerk watching me. But no exit. I walk up and down the mall floor three times, each time a little farther and it looking a little different each time. I can't find the exit. At this point I'm far more concerned with the fact that Im lost than with the security concerned with the fact that I keep fumbling with this towel.
After a third walk, I'm tired and I ask a female security guard for help. I point to the sign above her, 27F:A-O (meaning our last names) and ask where's the fastest exit to get there, as I only came to look for a bag. She points me in the same direction of where I came from and tells me how far to walk so I do just that. But no exit. I pass all kinds of ppl, from gamblers to impersonators and most of them watch me go by. I'm exhausted from walking and worrying and having to stop in a corner to readjust my towel, so I walk all the way down, farther than before, past an opening that goes many floors down guarded by a guardrail. I stop and look down and keep walking.
I approach what appears to be a big row of doors that must be an different exit, although no one is coming in or out. Near there I stop and see one more woman standing in front of a shelf of floors and names. Desperate, I ask her to find 27F and my last name. "27. That IS the floor I'm on, right? Cause I came out an exit right on 27 and I can't find it for the life of me and I'm so tired from walking up and down this damn place. Please, help me!" My voice is quivery cause I'm tired and I'm still swimmy, not 100% there. She says she'll look for my name. While she went thru the shelf, I stoop in a corner and fumble with the towel as I'm spilling out of it. I tie it and untie it and tie it as tightly as I can. She says she found my last night but there's multiples so she wants me to confirm. I go to her side (I'm closer to the row of doors) and look. She's flipping thru keycards with pictures and names of people on them. One keycard with my last name was an old one belonging to my sister. 'she must've stayed here once.' but then I see one with a name almost identical to mine. "That's...well, just about my name. It has my room number, too. There must have been a mistake," I say. I look closer at it before feeling a presence suddenly right behind me.
I turn around and it's the same woman from the card that has my room number and nearly-name on it. Pale skin, faint, beige hair and glass-colored emotionless eyes. "Who are you?" I say. Before I can say anything else she grabs my leg and I fall to the floor, and she grabs a hold of the guardrail at the opening of the long drop. She's doing exactly what I think she doing. I grab onto a carpet attached to the floor and hold on for dear life. I yell and roar and grunt and yell. It's taking every bit of my strength to stay on the ground and keep her from throwing me over the guardrail to my death. "Hey! HEEEEY!" I yell. No one is helping. No one is coming. It feels like its just the three of us, me the woman and the clerk with the keycards, in the whole building. I look up at the woman. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?! Stop it!!!!" I snap at her. She simply replies, "don't you want to see the greatest thing in the world?"(or something like that). I look up at the clerk. "Call for security!! Why aren't you helping me???" I cry. But she looks down at me with the same glass-colored eyes with her mouth shut. In my distraction the carpet starts ripping and closer and closer to the opening the woman seems to pull me, until it almost feels like my life has reached it's end. "AAAUUUGHHHH" I scream one last time before waking up in a panic and a daze.
Well, that was the first dream I've had in months and the first nightmare in years. I don't even remember the last time I nearly died in a dream. Anyways, like I said I'm a little paranoid again so. I'll be staying away from certain places for a while. And sorry that turned out a lot longer than I hoped, but whenever I do dream they are always quite vivid.
Just woke up from a nightmare that ended in some woman I’ve never met before trying to throw me off of the side of a guardrail in a very high-up mall area while I was wearing nothing but a towel.
I dont know if it’s a call for me to either be more wary or stop sleeping naked, but either way my. fear of guardrails of high-up places (well, being thrown over them and dying very painfully) has come back after years of trying to suppress it so. I will be trying to avoid high places for a while now.
I’ll be back to post the synopsis (or what I remember of it) when Ive got clothes on and something in my stomach.
#long post#very long post...longer than i thought itd be rip#my dreams#fear of heights#fear of falling#me.exe
