Oh this is such a neat question, and I don't think I've ever gotten it before!!!

Okay, so for some of my Reader characters, I do actually have an impression of what their real name would be. But then there are others who when I think of them it is 100% their nickname.

1968's Io definitely feels like a Lacy to me. I strongly associate Olivia Rodrigo's song "Lacy" with that fic.

Red from Cannibals would be Viserra. It's a known Targaryen name and sounds a little menacing!

From Comet, Stargirl's name starts with an S and is very Middle-America...maybe Sarah, Sabrina, Sierra, or Savannah?

Napoleonville's Cupcake feels like a Lori or Laura to me.

As for Martyrs, I feel like Chips's real name is something like Kylie or Kiara.

Sunshine from A Curse has one of those old-fashioned fancy people names with a cute childish nickname, like Charlotte (Charlie), Victoria (Tori), or Tabitha (Tab).

Moonstone from HYNITYID is Lyra, which is a little witchy and in the Mormont family tree. (It seems I really like L names!)

Appletini is just Appletini to me lol. Same for Angel, Petra, and Ivy.

Thinking about how Leo says he uses his jokes to cope and y’know, thinking harder on it I think it may very well be because of what else uses one-liners and puns and that type of humor.

Specifically, 80’s action movies and campy sci-fi. Even more specifically, the protagonists of these.

So I can imagine why, exactly, Leo leans toward this brand of humor. It’s directly linked to things he loves! But even more than that is why I think it’s used as a coping mechanism.

In these genres, these quips tend to be said by the winner - or, if not a winner, then someone who will stay alive. So there’s a confidence behind them, an assurance, almost, that even if things go wrong, things aren’t ever too serious. There’s no bad endings here! It’s all good fun, even if the stakes seem high.

Leo canonically has been known to steer his brothers away from the more brutal villains and toward more fun, lighthearted activities and not-so-dangerous criminals. So for Leo, these jokes definitely make things less heavy, make the situations they find themselves in less intense.

It’s kinda not just coping, but also can be seen as a form of escapism. A safety blanket. A way for Leo to defuse the tension of knowing just how dangerous their lives are and replace that with a levity which implies that things will be okay.

Unfortunately, levity alone does not alter reality.

Lord help me I'm stepping back into my Aran phase 🙏 right now I'm thinking about an AU where my s/i is a lounge singer in the 1920s-30s that Aran is infatuated with. Only problem is that he doesn't have a penny to his name, so he does the logical thing and joins an underground bareknuckle boxing ring to make some extra cash, where he quickly becomes a well known and feared contender

I haven't done too much with the AU yet story-wise but I'm hoping to flesh it out more soon!

yes! i havent fully fleshed out the reasoning yet, but in my head its like. ok.

original talon before he started forgoing feeding on purpose, had a softer, brighter, smoother voice. he's been injured though (as much as I draw him angry and yell-y i dont think he can actually physically raise his voice above a certain volume without it disappearing), so its even raspier when he's unfed. I think at present it sounds softer once he's fed, with that air of comparative Youth (its not like he sounds as young as he looked then), but still rough, raspy, and then also darker than originally because he's used to talking in that low, slow, broody way

I decided to fully draw my Desmond design. I suck at drawing him, maybe because we only see him in one picture and it’s not very detailed and it messes with the image I have of him, but I tried. I like giving him just his glasses, instead of eyes. It feels weird drawing him without them.

potential sonic 3 spoilers incoming if anyone cares. anyway . apparently there was an official survey about the knuckles show/scu in general and one of the questions was about what name you would use for an eggman/shadow/gerald teamup. which is a weirdly specific question. and also one of the name options was team dark …….. ?? even though rouge isnt mentioned in the question and theres no sign of her being in the next movie in general ? i was willing to accept amy being introduced a little after knuckles and tails but between there still being no sign of her being in the next movie and now this if they actually have gerald time travel or something and have him be the third member of the dark story trio instead of rouge then i will be fully convinced that theyre going out of their way to exclude as many already existing girl characters as possible. like i get cgi is expensive which could be part of the reason rouge might not have made the cut. but damn . assuming this is real anyway it could just be another fake leak but idk

it's kind of weird to me that they didn't bother releasing sushi and tempura internationally at all but at the same time i'm kinda glad they didn't cuz like. yo-kai watch was financially failing in the west by the time 3 released. i feel like if they had released sushi and tempura the franchise would've completely tanked before we got sukiyaki which would've sucked. honestly if anything i feel like it's more surprising that we got all three versions of 2 instead of them just releasing psychic specters but tbf i think yo-kai watch was doing well in the west when 2 released. 2 is just inexplicably what killed the franchise despite being a masterpiece-
