Lord help me I'm stepping back into my Aran phase 🙏 right now I'm thinking about an AU where my s/i is a lounge singer in the 1920s-30s that Aran is infatuated with. Only problem is that he doesn't have a penny to his name, so he does the logical thing and joins an underground bareknuckle boxing ring to make some extra cash, where he quickly becomes a well known and feared contender

I haven't done too much with the AU yet story-wise but I'm hoping to flesh it out more soon!

The GBG project is definitely the funniest thing Kuusuke has done.

It's incredibly cartoonishly evil.

"Familiarizing them with this technology will reduce both their fear and resistance", "gain blind trust", "encourage them to stop thinking", "the target(Saiki Kusuo)" - it's so over the top.

But aside from that, another factor for it being really funny is how he Forgot the bag with the data.

Kuusuke took a device to set up a fake phone conversation, parts to modify the shooting contest gun with, but not it.

Kuusuke deliberately came back to live with his grandparents for this project. And before that, he stated that he'll return once he thinks he can win. The GBG project was a well-prepared attempt to win. And he just didn't bring the plans for it.

like. that’s elia’s tragedy, and what makes me so insane about her. she was in the wrong story. she was playing the game of court politics but ended up yoked to 300 years of targaryen collapse and dynastic rot instead. there’s nothing i love more than characters doing their best with the pieces they can see on the board, while the fact slowly dawns on them that the board is in the process of being swallowed by an eldritch monster.

kind of an extension of that last thought, because i guess i feel the need to address this -- the thing for me is that majima and kiryus relationship makes No Fucking Sense whatsoever when i think of them as like. friends. it makes Some sense as Colleagues. it does make a good amount of sense as Allies. but its still not the full picture. and i think most rgg fans (including me) feel the need to come up with an explanation of their dynamic because it's like, weird but not in a way thats uncompelling or unrealistic, so in theory it should be *explainable*. and i do think its v easy and natural and fun (especially with the amount of subtext) to fill that gap with "romance". but to me THAT makes no sense either. for like the same reasons "friends" doesn't make sense. so i think theres a secret third or fourth thing going on here that is not romance and not friendship and not a Mix of both either

i get. the sentiment. but i really dont think dc not using tim has to do w him being bi (see how multiple recently out queer characters are still in active non queer identity related use rn). i think it has to do w/ TD:R being a flop & them clearly trying to set him up in other non-solos to do. on the topic of mark & gemma as a tragedy of circumstances and opportunity rather than being purposely selected, i think personally them being purposely selected makes the other refiners and all the other locations and offices and mdr departments that lumon has to be sort of pointless. if this couple was chosen and special and selected then what's the work that dylan does or that irv does? what did petey do? what does helly do? what about the other refiners from other branches? there's so many other workers caught in their web with their own stories and paths that led them there that all contribute to the research and advancement of lumon
