she’s an artist. she’s got DID and it’s not villainized. her armor is a bunch of tiny freaks in a trench coat. she’s good friends with one sword and traumatized another as a child but they are rebuilding that relationship. she infiltrated the mafia. her husband supports trans rights and I think she does too but this hasn’t been confirmed and probably won’t be for at least 3-5 years in our timeline. probably more. she needs therapy but was probably one of the reasons it was invented. she’s also ginger. I’m not saying who it is but you know who it is.

hello i just saw that you are self taught and i was wondering what you started with or if you just went for drawing whatever you could hail mary and then just slowly figured it out from there? asking as a beginner artist attempting to do the second because i have no patience for the first

i started drawing because i liked comic books but i didn’t have access to the internet and couldn’t look at pretty pictures of my fav character. so it became a “fine i’ll do it myself” thing and i had to learn to be better at art so i could do my favs justice. so it was just printer paper and pencils at the beginning. i began digital art when i was 12. no fancy tools needed, my favourite brush is the default square brush on procreate, and i draw with sharpies on paper

please don’t treat the process of learning to draw as something tedious or a means to an end. watching yourself improve is a very rewarding experience, and is part of the art itself. no shortcuts i’m afraid. i would advise you to draw things you really love and keep pushing through.

not sure when i finally started to like my art tho. i don’t think there’s any artist who is truly satisfied with their work, that’s what keeps pushing us to get better. i actually was under the impression that my art style was kinda generic until u guys pointed out that u could recognize it. so everything is in the eye of the beholder, haha.

Also! Your art style is gorgeous and that being found in 2023 and then refined throughout late 2023 and the entirety of 2024 really shows, as does your growth in panel layouts, perspective, and — as you said — experimentation. If you ever post your animation or video game art I’m looking forward to it.

As cheesy as it sounds, being able to laugh at funny comics and look at all the details of your art really made my 2024 brighter, even when things were hard. Including looking at your older art— it doesn’t need to be new to be enjoyable! I’m glad your art is well loved and it’s a privilege to have been here since the (near) beginning. I hope you take care of yourself in 2025 and beyond!

Thank you so much for keeping up with my art journey throughout these last two years! Two years!!! I am baffled at how that feels both too long and too short!

Admittedly, my art summary didn't manage to capture the fact that I did a lot of comic layouts that I'm really proud of. I also drew more backgrounds and made some very detailed works (*Dungeon Meshi spoilers for these examples*).

The growth is lot more evident when comparing my 'best' comics of 2023 to 2024:

Sometimes the growth is vertical, sometimes it is horizontal - and damn, sometimes it goes out of sight into the Z-plane. But it is always happening!

let's ignore for a second the fact that eddie has never ever ever ever not even once, said in canon that he is a heterosexual very straight guy. seriously!!! he has never once said it!!! if i am "assuming" he's gay then you are also "assuming" he is straight even though he has never once said it!!

how do you think we got bi buck as canon? like i am serious right now, answer the question. how do you think we go bi buck canon? evan buckley was never conceived to be a bisexual man at the beginning of 911. the reason we have evan buckley as a canonically bisexual character today is because us, queer fans of 911, interpreted him and headcanoned him as bisexual. i would go even further and say that it was us, BUDDIE FANS, who interpreted him and headcanoned him as bi. even before the writers were explicitly writing him as bisexual. we read his actions and his story and his identity and said: "this is a bi character!" and the writers looked back and realized that it made sense! and so they started writing him explicitly and canonically as bi.

was it wrong of us to headcanon a character as bisexual then? like for all intents and purposes we were reading a "straight" character as bi. were we doing something wrong? how come you are not complaining/chastising us/shaming us for how we took evan buckley, an otherwise straight character, and saw him as bi? is it because it now serves a purpose to you that he is bi?

also, taking characters that aren't confirmed queer and reading them as queer is what the queer community, and specifically the queer fandom community, has been doing for DECADES. look up the history of queer coding, i am begging you. it has been through the means of queer coding and the perseverance of people that are engaged in it that actual queer representation in media has increased. and let me tell you right now, eddie diaz is, undoubtedly and undeniably, one of the most queer coded characters there is. whether you think this queer coding is conscious by the writers or not. eddie diaz is queer coded.

and i want everyone who says things like "eddie diaz is not a queer character. he is straight in canon. it's wrong to assume a character is queer without the character saying so" to know that this is exactly what straight and homophobic people say. you are using the SAME rhetoric that has been used to shame queer fans for decades for seeing themselves and their experiences in fictional characters of all types. in fact, us, queer fans (and again BUDDIE FANS), were told so many times by straight fans that we were wrong for reading buck as bisexual. and where are we now? where did reading buck as bi take us? oh yeah, to having bi buck in canon.

so please just stop with the "eddie isn't queer in canon" comments. if you don't want to interpret eddie as queer then that is your prerogative. i will be judging why that is, for sure, but it is your right. but be honest about it. it has nothing to do with whether or not he is straight (which hasn't been said) or queer coded (which he so obviously is seeing as so many of us can very easily read him as queer). it's a personal preference and you're not engaging with canon better because of it.

Damian decided he wanted to be a veterinarian in his spare time so after high school he applied to Gotham University and moved into the dorms. Alfred and his Father highly encouraged it something about getting that college dorm experience and they were pushing him to make a friend or two. He also didn’t know what to expect from his roommate Nightingale, something was off about him and Damian was determined to find out what that is.

Danny just wanted to get his engineering degree. Unfortunately his new roommate seemed curious about him. After he ran away from home he decided he’d try to make it on his own. He didn’t even try to tell his parents about Phantom, their prejudice about ghosts wasn’t going away soon and the sooner he got away the safer he’d be. He had to think about the infinite realms now and keeping their king, well himself, safe was the best option at the moment. If only the Observants could stop appearing in unexpected places to beg him to return to the realms.

Seeing a lot of people talking about Stan dying before Ford can see him again and... I just can't stop thinking about this man being in absolute denial. Not about Stan being dead, but about that moment being their last together. Call it stubbornness, call it ego, call it whatever you want, but Ford will NOT let it be like that.

(He tells himself he won't let Stan rest without knowing he loved him. Truthfully, he knows he won't be able to rest himself without hearing his brother's voice again)

Ford does NOT try to revive Stan because that would be insanity!!! (frankenstan writers/artists/etc i love you to pieces) so he decides to contact some sort of medium or something that can talk to the dead. He was always opposed to the idea, since he always knew his mom was a fraud, but now that he's an expert on the supernatural, well... what's the limit, really. It's not the craziest thing he's seen.

So he embarks on a mission to find an actual, real medium. Many of them end up being frauds as well, so he decides to investigate history and legends alike to find genuine mediums and seers that might've had descendants, as magic is commonly passed down.

With his grant money, instead of building his house in Gravity Fall, he travels around the world to find the real deal. He meets many, and the few ones that seem the most legit all say the same: "I can't find him", "I don't know where he is".

One that shakes him to the core says: "I'm not sure whether he wants to speak".

Ford doesn't stop, though. Maybe Stan doesn't want to speak to him, but he can't give up. His suspicions have been confirmed: Stanley did die thinking he hated him. Ford doesn't think he can live with that; he knows he can't. He needs to carry on.

After a horrifyingly long time, Ford finds a clue; a name, or rather a surname, that is believed and documented to be that of a family of psychics. Seers, all-knowers, communicators, mediums, you name it. They are rumored to be one of the oldest remaining families with verified divination powers, and are able to speak to the dead. There is one drawback: the family, once big and powerful, was heavily prosecuted and executed for their "sacrilegious" powers, and therefore their descendants are few and hidden.

Ford's excitement isn't crushed by this drawback, and he insists they tell him the name. He'll go to any lengths necessary, travel anywhere in the world to find these descendants. His joy meets an unexpected dread when he hears the name, so foreign and so familiar, and realizes he knows exactly where he has to go.
