crew writing - 1/29/2025
“I hope you are aware that it has been an hour since the intercom went off, General.” The sound of the typing that once filled the room came to a halt. “Please return to your assigned bedroom, we have work in the morning.” The typing then resumed, being accompanied by the beeping and buzzing of the surrounding machines. There was hardly any light on the 5th floor; it was cold and damp. Digiorno preferred to keep it this way because not only would it be easy for him to cool down but it would help the other machinery in here as well. Digiorno’s eyes are sensitive to bright lights, especially his more damaged and exposed one. So, he found it more comfortable to limit the lighting in here; the lamp he used whenever it came to paperwork was just right for him.
Tonight’s work was different and he really needed to get it done before morning hit. As much as he didn’t like to admit it, procrasinating was a problem for him, but he found his reasoning for it to be fair and understandable. The work he had to do simply just didn’t feel right to him. It was as if it was something he wasn’t made for. While he knew what it was that he had to do, it just wasn’t interesting to him at all. Sadly, Digiorno came to terms with the fact that this was something he was going to do forever. Minutes passed and Digiorno still hasn’t heard any movement from Cesare. Were they just standing there? Raising a brow and huffing, Digiorno turns his head completely around to check what exactly was happening behind him.
Oh, he was right; Cesare was just standing there. Digiorno squints, trying to register what exactly they were looking at. The General was wrapped in a blanket, trembling. Their “hair horns” weren’t present.
“Is there a problem, General?” Digiorno asked.
“I can’t sleep.”
Digiorno’s expression softened. Oh, so there is a problem. The robot hums, it’s body finally joins the direction his head was facing, the chair also turning with him. It kept it’s hands folded and on their lap, back straightened as it always was. Digiorno began to think, maybe he could provide some advice on what can help them fall asleep quicker? He could provide some melatonin, a warm drink, or maybe--
“Can I stay with you?” Cesare interrupted his thinking. He perks his head up and processed the question. Cesare wanted his company. Huh. Okay. Digiorno turns back to glance over to his work; he still had a lot to finish. Now scratching the back of their head, they sighed as they turn to face Cesare again. “I .. suppose you can. I hope you don’t mind the noise, and please watch your step; there are cables everywhere.” Digiorno watches Cesare grab a nearby chair and move it closer to his, now sitting down next to him. It fully turns right back around to face the screen again, going back to it’s previous task.
Cesare stares at the screen that was now in front of her. So many words. So many numbers.
Oh my god, this is fucking boring.
Apparently, it was so boring to the point Cesare started feeling drowsy. They hold onto their blanket just a little tighter as they lean against Digiorno. The robot felt this and glanced down at the other for just a moment. It felt warmth rise to it’s cheeks; his body almost immediately releasing steam. It wasn’t long until Cesare fell right asleep. They seemed somewhat comfortable in their current position and Digiorno noticed this. Was he bothered by it? No, no not really. However, this did mean he was gonna have some trouble moving without waking up the other.

have an inspection for my apartment tomorrow morning, my last day at my small ass uni apartment is today and i'll be doing my last bit of cleaning!!
i literally have nothing else in here other than my new laptop that i only do editing with so i spent last night and my morning just now writing lol
i've partially finished my dbd chapter (4k+ words atm) but it introduces another killer that the reader will be paired up with and the next segment is the michael myers' trial!! so my question is--- would you rather to have me post it now or after i've also written michael's trial? so proud of myself for putting a big part of my last paycheck in my savings like an adult but now im gonna spend all my savings like an idiot 😵💫
#i mean i am paying cash for my first vehicle which is like...adulting pro level but....at what cost (the price) 😭#also its a very cheap rusty old car tbh but i need a truck for the farm basically#so even tho i could keep driving my dad's car to work since he works from home it makes sense#especially bc its three people sharing that car with me and my brother#and my little brother is a full time student w no job so im the full time employed one so i should be the one to get a car#but i was determined to not take out a loan so its not a super nice car#but i'm buying it from a friend of my mom at a steal basically#like who sells a decent working car for 1500 anymore#but thats literally my entire savings so.... 😬#no car payment tho which will be nice but aaaaaaaaa#and im worried its kind of a junky car and will need tons of repaira all the time and not be reliable#but my commute is really short and i never drive anywhere besides work which is good for an unreliable car#im not convinced its a great investment to put all my savings into an unreliable vehicle but my parents told me its a good investment so#😬👍#adulting yayyyyy#i am getting paid this friday tho so my savings wont be so alarmingly empty for long#but i have other big expenses so im stressed#however it is a nice christmassy red pickup truck which is good for a christmas tree farm#but last payday i was like why do i have so little money in my savings thats dumb and not very grown up im gonna put as much as i can spare#then a week later withdrew almost all of it for the car 🤡#possibly a stupid decision#but maybe a great one idk#and it saves my parents having to buy a trailer for my mom's car for farm stuff so they're gifting me $300 towards it#and it will be satisfying to buy it outright and have no debt on it#but oof it hurts so much to make big purchases#i've never spent this much money except on tuition#i dont know that its specially unreliable i just know its got rust and duct tape and they're selling it bc they'd rather have a car payment#bc they put more money into it than its worth#but its got new tires and brakes and passed inspection somehow with the rust sooo? maybe its not as bad as it looks 😂

I thought fully catching up to One Piece would make me feel a little less obsessed, but it's somehow made it worse. I know I'm over a quarter of a century late, but oh man do I have it bad now.
Why does a part of me want to start a reread?
#reading those first few hundred chapters that introduce characters so fast i couldn't be bothered to remember them all#only for them to become SO IMPORTANT and meaningful to me later#getting emotionally attached to the entire dumb world#something about the tenderness and care oda puts into the world building#like obviously all writers are working with original creations but the way even his minor background characters#often turn out to have a whole backstory you learn about hundreds of chapters later#is so great#supposedly he's been working on this world since he was a kid right and inventing and investing in all of these characters#and it really is the feel of someone sharing all their most beloved ocs with you#and you don't even realize that this or that character IS one of those truly beloved ones for a while#it's patience but it's also so much LOVE#letting them exist like they're real and not just devices used in the narrative#revealing them slowly over time - over the span of YEARS - instead of making them all throw aways#i guess he's kind of actually a genius#one piece

You know... watching a tv show via a streaming service really kinda... makes you realize how much the art of it is constrained by the medium; specifically ad breaks
Like, they actively disrupt the flow of things because they need a chance to insert commercials, and even if you're not watching it with commercials, there's something forever built in to the timing of the show that's specifically for those commercials

Just kinda sucks you know? That cause of toyota or pepsi or all the other pricks who gotta run the ads, a whole lot of shows (good and bad) have ended up having to build in this concession

#I know I sometimes talk about this thing that I've picked up with writing which I refuse to infect anyone else with#this secret aesthetic rule that ever since I noticed I can't unnotice it and it's just a pain in the ass extra layer to think about#well I'll say that this post has very nicely conformed to what I'm looking for#I'm over all quite pleased... my one complaint is if only I could find a way to make that last sentance end around 'have'#that's the length I'd want it; but getting the words across always has to come first#...but this is why I don't share what's going on in my head here#cause I don't want anyone else to be sitting their writing and thinking#can I shorten 'There's no grand narrative I have here; I just think it's kinda ass'#down to that first 'have' while still keeping the meaning similar?#cause I'm about to give it a thought because that would make this post so much better...#hmm... yes; I did it and I think I managed to keep a similar meaning and now it's much better... though...#maybe if I lengthen the previous paragraph just a little that would be a smidge better#looks very nice now; what a huge waste of time; this is why I don't tell you what I'm trying to do#once I saw it as important I couldn't unsee it; a post mentioned it#you probably wouldn't get as focused on it; but like... let's just not contaminate you#and it's not like some fun conspiracy forbidden knowledge#it's just a dumb aesthetic choice I've started caring about#mm tag so i can find things later

dont have time to set it up right now but would anyone be interested if i made a side blog documenting my plush / figure collection? i’d do like cute little fabric backgrounds and stuff and potentially document me making the odd plush from time to time, figured it might be fun!
#i enjoy curating stuff and showing the dumb little toys i collect#i may make this regardless of interest but i figured i'd mention it here in case some people would like to see it#need an excuse to use my good camera again#i dont have a ton of things but i really like finding specific things that i love to have in my collection#i'd take pics of plushies and figures and things#like i have some sofubi and gatcha figs as well as just odd collectable figures from here and there#and special plush like jellycats some kickstarter guys and like older dear looking ones too that have been cuddled a lot#i would love to get into toy design one day#so finding toys i really like for various specific reasons is smth i'm really interested in and figured it might be fun to share in an#aesthetic format#plus i bought a really cute plush pattern and some special fabric for it that i'm excited to make and thought it'd be fun to start the blog#with documenting making it as the first thing i do
