Some nyo Iceland headcanons

Nyo Ice uses the human name Hrafnhildur Ingólfsdóttir, with “Hrafna” as her nickname

She lives on a sheep farm, but for the entire summer, her sheep free roam the Icelandic countrysides, and are gathered up for the winter during réttir

She is a huge knitter, and as you can probably guess, all the wool she uses is 100% natural and organic, coming from her own flock

Hrafna is outdoorsy and adventurous, a trait she probably gets from Norway. She cannot stay inside for too long, she needs to be out exploding different natural phenomenons.

She doesn’t bother with trends, or even attempting to be “cool” in the slightest, she could never keep up anyway, and given her landscape, it’s best to just dress practical.

This doesn’t just apply in terms of fashion, Hrafna has a few interests that might be abnormal or “weird”. For most of Hrafna’s life, she was alone, with no one to try and change for or please, so she has a pretty clear sense of identity and what she does and doesn’t care for.

She can, however, be so painfully shy and awkward when trying to meet new people. She would like more friends, but she really, really struggles to make them.

Whilst she’s actually a pretty colourful person, her interests can get pretty dark sometimes… she loves Icelandic dark fiction, crime dramas, etc.

Other hobbies and interests include volcanology, photography, hiking, writing and she has a deep love for animals, especially horses, sheep, and sea birds, namely puffins.

Despite this love of animals, she doesn’t handle insects (especially spiders) well and actually has a fear of dogs.

Iceland is much smarter politically than she is given credit for. She has a strong knowledge of her beliefs and what she stands for, but she also has a good understanding of her position on a global scale. And how she can use it to help move things forward.

I love you stories driven by fear for change. Stories where someone doesn’t want to take that leap, can’t take that chance. Stories where the risk is just too high, and you suffer for it. Stories where there was a person you were supposed to be, but you never gave yourself the chance. Stories where you know there’s something wrong with the way you’re living, but admitting that would mean you had to do something about it. Characters who lose your shot because you never let yourself take it, you’ll always be my favourite

Chilchuck analysis speedrun: As a hardworking half-foot who grew up poor and discriminated against and had his gullibility taken advantage of multiple times in his early adventuring days, Chilchuck thinks optimism is a dangerous flaw. He’s stressed and strict all the time because his job is noticing details like traps that could get everyone killed before anyone knows it, he takes the lives of everyone to be on his shoulders, and with the way he speaks about it that probably partly reflects how he felt about taking it upon himself to provide for his family too. His life’s always been pretty centered around work and has become even moreso now that his wife left and everyone is independent, and due to past events he’s very iffy with bonding with coworkers. He thinks feelings and job are a disaster mix. Like with his wife or with parties hiring him as sacrifice, being open or having good faith is vulnerability which can get you hurt, so he processes and shows all his stress as anger instead of worry. Doing strict dieting probably isn’t helping the irritability what with hunger, and on top of being a hunger suppressant alcohol might be the main stress reliever he has.

he spills his honeyed words, his eyes drawing you in. he’s far too pretty—gorgeous even—for you to ignore him like that. so he toys with the loosely tied bow across his chest; it wasn’t meant to stay tied for long, one small tug and it all comes undone.

he feels your thumbs rubbing along his waist, hands squeezing slightly and aventurine feels right on the edge. so, so close, he’s almost got you. the thrill of winning just within reach, just a little more…

“you look amazing in this one as well, i’m sure your lover will deeply enjoy it,” your easy smile and relaxed frame gave nothing away, toying with the silky fabric of the lingerie.

and he nearly stumbles as you move to stand, signaling the end of your little ‘meeting’. you’re not sure what he’s looking to gain from doing this, especially since he has yet to propose some kind of deal to you. however, it was getting late, and it wouldn’t look too good on either of you if you were seen leaving his residence so late in the night.

“if there’s no other outfits to show me, i think i’ll take my leave then. have a good night, aventurine.”

you’re gone before he can even think of an excuse to make you stay. or rather, if him dressing up like such in front of you isn’t enough to get you to stay, what else is a man to do?

Thinking about the KaeyaJeanDiluc friendship where they grew up together and they were CLOSE & sure maybe Jean felt like Diluc & Kaeya were closer since they were brothers & sure maybe Kaeya felt like he had to keep secrets from the two of them bc they would never understand but they were like. A trio! A team!

& then Diluc’s 18th birthday comes around and everything goes to shit and Diluc LEAVES so they’re no longer KaeyaJeanDiluc but just Kaeya & Jean & in some ways Kaeya and Jean get closer because of it but there’s also a pronounced DISTANCE where Jean doesn’t know how to reach Kaeya anymore & Kaeya is even more determined not to tell Jean anything & they both lose themselves in their duties to Mondstadt while also missing Diluc and ALSO, despite everything, offering each other unconditional support

& then Diluc comes BACK & in addition to Kaeya & Jean there’s the shaky reestablishment of Jean & Diluc and Diluc & Kaeya but it’s not THE SAME. they’re no longer KaeyaJeanDiluc; Jean & Kaeya are knights and Diluc will never be a knight again & they all changed while Diluc was away & none of them know how to talk to each other anymore AND YET there’s still an undercurrent of trust!! Not fully, especially between Kaeya & Diluc, but Diluc still calls on Jean during the archon quest, trusting that she will keep their secrets even though as the acting grandmaster she should probably not. Jean says in her about Diluc voiceline that she understands why Diluc hates the knights & is working hard to make them an organization he can trust again. Kaeya covers for Diluc’s darknight hero escapades & fondly reminisces about their childhood in front of him. Diluc invited Kaeya to dinner at the winery & (afaik) never told anyone about Kaeya’s origins. Kaeya tells the traveler that they need to give Jean their full support and planned a birthday party for her. Jean left Kaeya in charge of Mondstadt when she went to the golden apple archipelago! On some level they recognize that their goals still align!! There’s still trust and love there but there’s also this gap between them that none of them know how to cross and I just!!!
