Pick A Card Reading: Your Soulmate's Letter To Santa About You 💌
PILE 1
Dear Santa,
I want to thank you for my gift from last year, lol. She is amazing.
She makes me happy and puts a smile on my face. Sometimes I smile so hard my cheeks burn.
I've never felt happier in my life.
The way she talks, the way she moves, the way her eyes brighten up when she looks at a puppy or a piece of chocolate pie, they all drive me wild.
I want to be there for her, this Christmas and every other Christmas after this one. I want to buy her a house as a gift and a ring to go with it, maybe even a car? She doesn't like to drive that much but my baby has to have everything she wants.
What she wants she will get. I love her. I adore her. She owns my heart and soul. I'm proudly whipped.
Thank you Santa, I'll take care of her heart ❤️
~ Your soulmate is a provider. They must be a "golden retriever" type of person. I'm hearing "here comes the boy!". When you first meet them you won't expect to fall so hard for them. They have a compatible sense of humour with you.
PILE 2
Hey Santa Baby,
Am I in the naughty list? Great!
This year I put up with no bs and I said "bye" to everything that held me back. I let go of the old stories and left the world behind.
Well, not the whole world, because I met that special someone and they are amazing. I'm writing down my goals for next year and I want one of them to be to deepen my relationship with my soulmate.
I know that they are special, I'm not crazy! I consciously make the choice to commit to them. I feel like we are twin flames and can not wait to explore they way their mind works.
I want to help them unlock their potential. They are a force to be reckoned with and they don't even know it.
Bye, for now!
~ Your FS (yup, they are) is someone who could very well be a motivational speaker or a content creator in that space. They love doing challenges like 75 hard and lighting up other people's fire. They could also be an athlete or ex athlete. You will love this person's practical nature and approach in life. This person is also very spiritual and they probably have heard of Ayahuasca and other popular terms etc. They remind me of a Tech Founder in silicon valley who is I'm woowoo stuff (no worries, I'm the woo woo stuff).
PILE 3
Santa,
I'm ready to move on from this year. My faith is stronger than ever before.
I've wished for so many things in the last few years. Many of them manifested into my life but one thing still hasn't showed up yet and I'm very bumped because of that.
Don't get me wrong. I'm grateful for the life I live and lead. I have almost everything I've wished for but that almost is killing me.
I know she is out there. I've felt her energy before. Since I was a child, whenever I looked up to the stars, I felt this overwhelming connection with someone. This invisible string tagging at my heart at all times. No one has ever made me feel this way and I know that it is unfair to say that for my previous partners but I miss her. I miss someone I've never met. Can you please bring her to me this year? I don't want anything else but my love to come back to me in this lifetime.
I know that the time to meet her is coming. I can feel it, but make it as fast as you can. Please.
I have a lot of goals for the year, especially financial ones. I'll try to focus on them until she comes. Where is she? Where is my love?
I will know she is here when I lay my eyes on her. My heart will speed up and the world as I know it will shutter. Shutter my world darling. I don't care. I made that world by myself and it is time we build our own world together.
P.S. Send loving energy to my soulmate, they need it. Tell them I will buy them their gift myself next year, but for now... This, sadly, has to do.
~ Awww your soulmate is very sweet and... depressed! They don't show it to anyone though but when they are alone at night they drink a glass of wine and think about you. They would want you to be there.
This person is very, stoic and "protected". That give me "military" vibes even if they have nothing to do with the military. This inability to outwardly express their feelings. You will baby them a lot and it is going to look comical but they will love it. Your FS might be older and taller than you and people will laugh when they see how much of a baby they become around your presence. They are very tired of being lonely. Don't get me wrong, this is not someone mopping around, they are just a "closeted" romantic. They hide their true feelings and you will know they love you because they will do acts of service for you or you will catch micro expressions. As soon as you enter in an official relationship they won't be able to keep their hands away from you.

Hello, dear! How are you? Maybe I can have a headcanon with the monster trio + ace with a s/o Who has aggressive reflexes? As they approach from behind to cuddle the s/o, and the s/o by reflex takes them and layers on the ground very fast or in the table? 😂 She can lift them really easily^^’ (it would be funny/nice if the s/o is a little smaller than them.. 🥹)
Sorry if I’m not compatible with you’re rules, i didn’t find the rules, so ignore it if you’re uncomfortable..! 😅😅
M alive thank u for asking ,I hope u are doing okay! ,Thank you for requesting <3 love the request it's very cute ,I hope I did u justice!
Monster trio + Ace with a short strong s/o who have aggressive reflexes
Luffy
He take it as a challenge to take you down before you do
Even tho you explained to him ,you didn't mean to pin him down like that! It was simply a reflex!
But Luffy won't take it ,He is stronger than u and will simply have to prove it to you by taking you down in a fight!
You might awaken something feral in this man
" Luffy ,come on , you're not serious about this! I'm not going to fight you, you're far stronger than me! I just have a fast reflex!" He run at you full speed and you once again Pin him down so easily " This mean nothing! Rematch! I can pick you up so easily! How can you pin me down like this when I'm taller than you!??" He asks you in a rather breathy confusion, damn he why does sound out of breath for some reason...
Will start picking you up to show dominance, You're not stronger than him ,even it's...very nice to be pinned by you
he tries to hug you from behind a lot just to have you pin him down 😔 you're so strong he is smitten fr
You've broken a whole table once by accidentally crashing him through it and That's when he decided You're his forever lover fr
He have a strength kink and he doesn't even realize it 😔
Zoro
Zoro always make sure to come at you from the front side
BUT there's that one time this poor man was standing behind you and was going to rest his head on your shoulder as you both stood looking at the crew doing some activity together ,he was trying to be cute for once
" maybe we should join-" Zoro is cut off as you hold and flip him completely off to the ground ,face first to the ground
" Zo-Zoro! You startled me! Why did you sneak up on me like this!" You yell in panic as you help Zoro gets up ,he hold his bleeding nose "Since When you're able to carry my weight like this??" He asks bit too impressed and unbothered by the fact his nose is bleeding " since forever-your nose is bleeding! Chopper! Please come and help Zoro!!"
Listen ,the nose bleed was partly from the physical injury plus How hot that was but no one has to know that but him
He always respected your strength, but to be honest he thought you weren't that strong to carry Him since you're fun sized
But you kinda proved him wrong and He...feel very hot and bothered about it
Another man with strength kink ,he love manhandling you but he kinda doesn't mind if you started manhandling him while training together...yes he let you pin him down often, you think it's because your skills improved but it's only because Zoro like it When you're on top like that
He might be secretly a pervert, but no one will ever know
Sanji
" (y/n) oh love,You look so amazing-" Sanji approach you from behind as he want to hug you from behind, like he usually do ,but this time he made the wrong choice of not warning you or begin loud as he usually is when he approaches you ,It was mere seconds before he was pinned to the ground with you looking down at him in horror he start seeing stars " I'm so so sorry Sanji! You startled me!" You tries to help him gets up ,Sanji meanwhile is in another world "you were always able to do this??" He blur out and you blink at him " yeah? You just never startled me before like this " you mumble as you help him stand up ,he gets up and goes back to hugging you "Oh (y/n) you're so strong! Such a Beauty as you this strong??? I am so lucky to have you!" He start praising you up and down for your strength ,no you won't get rid of him any time soon
he is now a bigger simp than before, not only you are breathtaking,But also strong to pin him down like he is nothing??? He stan his powerful s/o ,He would be cheering for you when you kick asses in battles
He always carry you bridal style when he saves you ,BUT you Deadass can carry him as well ,he would blushing as you do ,his savior, his lover , you're so awesome
He would love to spare with you more ever since
Just so he have you pin him down like damn that's new foreplay idea
he still pick you up whenever to prove he is stronger (a lie,he just love you are small and he want to protect you always)
He got low-key beef with you since he want to be your prince charming your shining knight ,but You are always saving him and carrying him around when he in injured
He won't admit outloud but he loves it secretly, you're so strong and badass and he love to bury his face in your neck when you carry him
100% in denial about this strength kink ,give him some time..
Ace
He heard that you're one of the strongest of the whitebeard crew..but You are like the size of a bean in his eyes (rude) ,but that's only before he joined, after he joined you both become bestie then started causally dating and rest is history
He for sure never really completely saw you as someone who is stronger than him but he never vocalized it because he know he will sleep on the floor if he ever did
But someday,he made the mistake of saying it outloud
" hey take it easy on (y/n) with The punches, They ain't big enough to handle it" he tells Marco as both of you spare together, Marco stares at ace with a questioning look that translate to ' you Really said that?' while you were looking at Ace with 'What the actual fuck you just said' look "ight Pretty boy ,come fight me !" You challenge him and ace raise his hands " I'm not fighting you babe, you ain't built to handle all this" he point at himself and there's few of the crew laughing, Whiteboard look straight up amused at the scene playing Infront of him ,You stand strong as you glares up at ace " You mean you're aren't ready to get your ass kicked? If you're just scared then Just say so , I'm sure Thatch would love your help in the kitchen for dinner anyway" you tell him with a smirk , There's a loud OHHH coming from the crew ,Marco had completely moved away from your side so he doesn't get caught in the cross fire That's happening
" Eh you did not just say that!" Ace says a bit offended " oh yeah I just said , Actually Thatch would keep up with me better than you after thinking" you tell him as you add fuel to the fire that is ace flushed face " Okay it's ON ,Just don't be mad when Your ass is cooked!" He runs at you as you run at him ,both look absolutely feral, Ace goes for a firey punch and you dodge it as you grab his arm and and then grab him... before he know it ,his face is in the ground and you're pinning him down so effortlessly, he is... speechless
New found respect ,Also a new kink unlocked
Will not catch him slacking,he will always be talking about how strong you're from now on,please train with him all the time now
He promise to not set anything on fire when you pin him down , though it's still Very hot when you're bit too close to him...
He is a Prevert but that's for you to know later

As suggested by an anon, I wrote a oneshot based on one of my rejanis text memes. Here it is. No title because I'd rather die than pick titles for fics. Lmk what you think if you read it <3
Warnings: light sub/dom dynamics if you look too closely????, pretty obvious praise kink, Regina has bad thoughts, all that and there's not even smut in this??? Pairing: Regina/Janis Based on this:
Janis drives at the speed limit, her heart pounding against her ears as her thoughts run rampant. Did Regina really mean what she said? She needs to take the chance, there's no way she's losing an opportunity like that. If she's being messed with, she'll get mad at herself (and at Regina) later, not now. Now, it's time to take the leap.
Her blood is rushing and she feels apprehensive about what she's about to do. She parks her car in Regina's driveway and has to will her heart to stop running, but she fails pathetically. She checks her reflection, making sure she looks acceptable, before getting out of the car and sending another text to Regina, even though her hands are shaking so hard she can barely hold her phone right.
Janis anxiously makes her way to the door of the large George household, waiting for Regina's response. She doesn't get anything back for a while. She waits a bit, shifting her stance every few seconds, and when she's ready to turn around and leave, the door opens, revealing a surprised-looking Regina George, who can't stop the nervous laugh that comes out of her lips as soon as she sees Janis standing there.
“You actually came,” Regina says, with disbelief in her voice.
Janis scratches the back of her neck, face flushing as she takes in the sight in front of her. Regina is wearing pajamas. She clearly didn't expect visitors. Was she bluffing?
“Oh. I did. Should I go and pretend this never happened?” She asks, gesturing back to the car parked a few feet away. Her heart still won't stop pounding like crazy.
“No! I just thought you were playing around.”
Regina's voice sounds softer than usual, which makes Janis even more nervous. She's so…
“And I thought you might be messing with me,” Janis interjects.
Regina shakes her head and steps closer to her guest, who shivers.
“I don't do that anymore. Not with you. I'm trying to be better, you know. To be honest about… how I feel. I was flirting. For real. I didn't know if you would believe me but a part of me really hoped you would.”
Again, Regina's voice makes Janis' whole body quiver. She looks up into those deep blue eyes that show vulnerability for the first time in what feels like forever. She didn't think she'd ever see that Regina again. Not even after they made up and stopped “hating” each other. It's thrilling.
Janis finds herself filled with confidence. Regina was flirting with her. But did she mean what she said? Janis smiles shyly, trying not to lose her nerve.
“Well, am I getting the kiss you promised or nah?” She manages to ask, feeling proud of herself for not stuttering or choking on her words.
A smile takes over Regina's lips and she plays with her hair for a moment while taking a quick look around before touching Janis' cheek and pressing a quick kiss to her lips.
It's over before Janis' brain can even register the fact that she's being kissed, and Regina stares back at her with a tiny grin. Janis tilts her head and pouts.
“That was way too quick, I could barely even feel it!” She complains.
Regina chuckles, running her fingers through her hair.
“Fair. Come in, I don't want my creepy neighbors watching us.” She says, grabbing Janis by the hand and pulling her until they're standing inside the house.
Regina slams the door behind them and pushes Janis' back against it, grinning as she stands dangerously close to her and raises an eyebrow as if challenging her to make the move this time.
Janis gets on her tiptoes and wraps her arms around Regina's neck before kissing her with obvious desire. The blonde lets out a low moan when Janis pulls on her hair.
“Oh, you like that, don't you?” Janis teases.
“Shut up.” Regina protests, face flushing in a way that's actually adorable.
“Make me.”
That's all she needs to hear before kissing Janis again.
They kiss for what feels like hours, discovering numerous new ways to make the other blush, until they separate with heavy breaths and ridiculously dilated pupils. Janis' legs feel like jello, and Regina's heart won't slow down.
“So… about that other thing you said earlier…” Janis says, holding onto Regina by the waist and looking up into her eyes adoringly.
“Oh, that. You think you're being a good girl?” The blonde inquires, smirking.
How she loves having Janis in the palm of her hand like this... It feels inebriating. She can't believe it took her so long to realize what her fucking problem was. If only she knew that before wasting so much of her time with mediocre guys.
Janis rolls her eyes and gives her a pointed look. “You think I'm not? What else do I possibly need to do? Kneel? Do you want me to beg for you? Because that's a little mean, don't you think? Especially coming from someone who's already humiliated me plenty.”
That makes Regina reconsider her strategy. Maybe Janis is right. Maybe, after all she's done… she should be the one begging.
She sighs, straightening her back. “You know what? You make a great fucking point. Let's change things up, kay?”
With that, while keeping direct eye contact with Janis, Regina kneels down at her feet.
“Better?”
She takes one of Janis' hands and kisses it, then positions it on the back of her head, wrapping her fingers around her blonde locks.
Janis struggles not to completely lose her shit at the image she sees. Regina George, on her knees for her, looking up at her with those blue eyes, her lips slightly open. It's truly a sight to behold.
“Do you like me like this, Jay? What d'you wanna do to me? I'm at your mercy, come on. Take me, boss me around, shut me up. Do what you've always wanted to do to me.”
That voice. Janis feels like she's on top of the world. She can't believe Regina would just give her so much power. With her other hand, she touches the blonde's cheek gently.
“Is this what you want?”
She would never put Regina in this position without her consent. She still feels bad about her revenge and how the girl died for fifteen seconds right in front of her not even a full year ago.
“I want you to want me,” Regina whispers, so soft she can barely hear it.
Janis sighs, rubbing her thumb over the soft skin under her touch.
“I do. More than I should,” she confesses.
“Then take me. Show me what I've been missing. Show me how to atone for what I've done to you. Punish me.”
Regina's entire body is in flames. She needs Janis. She can't handle it anymore. She's always wanted her. She doesn't know how to stop thinking about her eyes and her lips and the way her nose scrunches. She can't stop thinking about having Janis all to herself.
“You've been punished enough. What if I reward you instead? After all, you're a really good girl now, aren't you?” Janis asks, smirking as she finally finds the right thing to say.
Regina's pupils dilate even wider as she takes in Janis' words. She nods, still staring into big brown eyes eagerly.
“I want to hear you say it. Tell me what you are.”
Regina tries to will the words out of her mouth, but there's something stopping her. She doesn't believe she's good. Not even now. She still feels like she's rotten to the core and undeserving of love. Undeserving of Janis.
“I- I don't know if I can.”
Her voice breaks.
Damn. That little voice in her head speaks up like it always does whenever she feels inappropriate. She tries to ignore it, but it knows her too well, it is her. It knows just how to affect her.
Congrats, Regina! You can't even do the most basic shit, like saying four words to please the girl you like. How pathetic. How long will it take for her patience to run out and for her to give up on you? After all, you gave up on her first, didn't you? You ruined her just like you ruin everything you touch. You'll never amount to anything. You'll always be a sad little rich girl with nobody to play with.
The look in Regina's eyes makes Janis' heart break. She has a fair idea about what must be going through the girl's head. Regina's always been easy to read when she wasn't pretending. Her eyes hide deep emotional turmoil from those who don't know her like the back of their hands. Like Janis knows her. She shakes her hand and crouches down so she's close to Regina's ear.
“I know you can.”
She presses a kiss on her cheek.
“You're such a good girl, Gina. Being honest and open and offering me so much... that's a lot more than the old Regina would ever give me.”
She leaves a kiss on the girl's forehead.
“But it's okay. You don't have to say it. Not today. I'll make you say it eventually, though. I'll get you to believe it if you let me.”
Janis lifts Regina's face and kisses her before straightening herself again.
“Get up.”
The blonde looks up at her with something that seems like sadness and confusion in her eyes. Janis doesn't want her anymore, does she? Because Regina failed. And of course, she'd fail, she can't ever do anything right.
“But-”
Janis shakes her head and holds Regina's face again.
“It was incredibly sexy to see you like this, but I think we should go to your room.”
Those words ignite the hope inside her again and muffle down the noise in her head.
Janis helps Regina up and pulls her by the hand. She still remembers how to get to the girl's bedroom. Regina lets herself be guided, in silence as she still tries to come to terms with the fact that Janis might still want her.
As soon as they get to the bedroom, Regina stares at the other girl with a question in her eyes, suddenly shy and nervous, which is a sight that Janis finds herself weirdly enjoying.
“What is it, Gina?” She asks, embracing the girl in front of her around the neck in a way she hopes seems casual. She's not sure she's ready for her to know just how much she actually cares.
“Are we still…” She trails off, avoiding Janis' eyes. She might seem like the most confident bitch alive, but Janis has always been her weakness.
“That depends on you, princess. I'm down for whatever you want to do. But we can also take a rain check and cuddle in bed for tonight, maybe make out for a while, I might let you get to second base if you behave. You know… take our time. But I mean, that's assuming you're not looking for a one-night stand, which-”
“I'm not! I want to see where this goes.” Regina interjects, unwilling to let Janis think even for a second that this is a one-time thing for her.
Janis smiles softly, then gets on her tiptoes to kiss Regina with no rush. “Do you like me?”
That makes the blonde frown, confused. She thought it was obvious by now. How can't she tell?
“Uh, I'm starting to question your intelligence. Do you really need to ask? Of course I fucking like you, Janis. I got on my knees for you.”
Janis chuckles, enjoying being so close to Regina after having convinced herself she would never get this.
“I wanted to hear you say it out loud. I mean, you already figured me out, you know I've been trying to suppress my feelings for you by giving you a hard time. No use denying it now.” She admits, smiling shyly at Regina, who squeezes her around the waist and leans down to kiss her soundly.
“That's good to know. Can you stay the night? We haven't shared a bed in forever. I, uh, I guess I missed you. And maybe you're right, maybe we should really savor this before going all the way. I mean, that would be different from what I usually do, which could be... I don't know, nice? Don't get me wrong, I'm-”
"Hey. It's okay. I know what you mean."
For some reason, hearing Regina say all that makes Janis feel more confident about whatever they're doing. It gives her the impression that she might be serious about this.
Janis grins, “And of course I can stay. Do you have some clothes I can borrow? I don't really feel like sleeping in jeans.”
Regina nods before letting go of Janis and walking away, only to return a moment later with sweatpants and a cozy-looking shirt. She hands them to Janis.
“Should I get changed here or...”
“I'll turn around.” She says, doing as promised, except... there's a mirror right there, which she obviously knew about. She winks at Janis through the reflection, and the girl, smirking, turns around, taking her shirt off and exposing her back to Regina, who can't take her eyes off the mirror.
Soon enough, Janis is wearing Regina's clothes, which brings her back to years in the past before everything changed between them. It's bittersweet. But she likes where they are now. She just hates that it took them hurting each other so much before they could get there.
Regina gets under the covers and gestures for Janis to join her, which she does. She snuggles into her and presses her head against her chest, the thrumming of her heart bringing her peace. Janis gently runs her fingers through Regina's long blonde hair.
“This is really nice,” Regina whispers, a few seconds later, eyes closed, truly enjoying their closeness and the way Janis touches her.
She hums in agreement, not stopping her gentle caresses on Regina's scalp.
“Do you have any plans for tomorrow?” The blonde speaks up again, incredibly relaxed. Only Janis could get her to slow down this way. She's missed everything about this. About her.
“Not really. Why?”
“Let me take you out. On a date.”
Regina can feel it as Janis' heart speeds up. She smiles to herself.
“Oh! Really?” Janis asks, genuinely surprised. She didn't expect Regina to be so direct so fast, she thought for sure she would be the one having to make those moves. She's not displeased, though. As a matter of fact, she's excited. Giddy, one could say.
“Yeah, really. I told you I wanna see where this goes. I've never gone on a date with a girl before and I'm used to not putting in any effort with guys. They're easy, but boring. You… you're worth the effort.”
Janis leans down to kiss Regina on the forehead, unable to stop herself from showing her affection. It feels so unbelievably nice to be with her like this.
“My answer is yes. But can I ask... When did you find out about how you feel?”
“About you?” Regina inquires.
Janis nods, making a little humming noise like she's saying yes. Regina fully knows the answer to her question, she's just unsure how the girl will react to that information.
“You're not gonna believe me.”
“Try me, I might.”
Regina sighs, resigning herself to her fate. She won't lie to Janis. It would be a terrible way to start a potential relationship.
“At first, I got really jealous when I saw you with Cady in the cafeteria. I wanted to take her from you. And then I wanted to take Aaron from her. Because if I couldn't be happy, nobody could. And I wasn't happy, no matter who I dated or what I did. I had no idea why- thought I was just not meant for happiness or love.”
Janis stays in silence, intently listening to Regina's confession. She had theorized that the blonde had a crush on Cady in the past. She never thought she was the one Regina might have wanted.
“I ignored it. Ignored how I felt when you and I kissed, ignored how I felt whenever I saw you since we stopped being friends—I couldn't think about you, it was dangerous in my head. Then I died.”
Janis' grip on Regina gets tighter then. She hates remembering that. The sight of her former childhood friend lying on the ground, bloody and broken. Not breathing. It still haunts her in her dreams sometimes.
“You know, you were actually the last thing I remember seeing before I lost consciousness. And it felt like ages went by, and all I could think about was how I was going to die right there, with you hating me.”
Regina stops for a second, absorbing the heaviness of her own words. She's still not completely sure what happened that day. She doesn't remember much about the accident. Janis' arms feel even tighter around her, grounding her. That's what inner peace must feel like, she wonders. Being in the arms of someone you love, knowing they love you back. Maybe someday she might have that. This is the closest she's ever felt to it.
“When I woke up, it was like my brain was knocked into place, I guess. Everything felt different. I dreamed about you when I was in my coma, which is insane.”
That surprises Janis. The idea of Regina dreaming about her while she was fighting for her life is so… it is insane. She never would have guessed it.
“I dreamed that we were talking in the restroom during spring fling and I came out to you. I dreamed that you visited me almost every day while I was recovering. Those all felt like different realities, in a sense. It would never happen for real. It didn't happen, but this... this feels pretty close to those dreams.”
She sighs before continuing. “I think… the accident knocked out the part of me that was able to compartmentalize what I felt about you. Because when I woke up, I couldn't stop thinking about you. About what I did to you, and what you did to me, and how I needed to fix things. And when we did talk, when we agreed to forgive each other and see where that would take us, I found myself wanting to be around you more and more.”
Regina trails off for a second and lifts her head to watch Janis, who looks back at her silently and nods as if to encourage her to keep going.
“I don't know exactly when I started liking you. I can't fucking tell. Maybe I've felt this way forever and never knew on a conscious level. But I thought I would never get you the way I wanted you, I mean, I thought you still hated me until an hour ago.”
Janis gasps. “You did?”
That makes Regina chuckle amusedly and roll her eyes.
“Can you blame me? I was trying to send you a cute text earlier and you told me to shut the fuck up.”
Janis sighs, admitting to herself that Regina's perception makes a lot of sense. Sometimes she acts before she thinks. Maybe that's something she should work on.
“I don't know why I say the things I say sometimes. Well, this time specifically, I didn't want to listen because I was scared my brain would catch up to the fact that I could never really get over you. But I was, uh, I was surprised by your response.”
Regina's expression turns into a shy smile. She gently leans closer to Janis' lips, giving her the chance to push her away if she wants to, but she doesn't, so she kisses her softly before speaking up again.
“Yeah, I was being hopeful, though I fully expected you to tell me to fuck off. But when you didn't… I had to try and see what I could get away with. When I saw your text saying you were at the door I was really fucking shocked.”
Janis holds both sides of Regina's face and pulls her in for another unrushed kiss. She still feels warm and her heart shows no sign of calming down. This feels surreal to her. She really is in Regina George’s bed, lazily making out with her, after an insane turn of events that likely would never happen if they weren't so efficient at matching each other's freak.
“Oh, I wouldn't wanna waste an opportunity like that, ‘you kidding me? I'm glad you weren't messing with me, that would have been really embarrassing.” Janis admits when they separate a minute or so later.
“And I'm glad you came,” Regina reveals, kissing Janis’ neck. “I really wanna kiss you for like eighteen hours nonstop but I'm really tired and my back is killing me, so can we do that tomorrow?”
Janis leisurely runs her fingers through Regina's hair. “Of course. Do you take anything for the pain?”
“Sometimes. But right now I'm too lazy and cold to get up and take it so we're just gonna hope I'll wake up feeling better.”
Janis won't accept that. Not while she's around. “No, ma'am. What do you need? I can get it for you.”
Regina's heart fills with affection at those words. Her boyfriends were never so considerate and kind to her, not even Aaron (which deep down, she knows is her own fault.) It's hard not to swoon at Janis' obvious care for her.
“That's… really fucking sweet of you. It's in the bathroom cabinet, you can't miss it. It's the only orange bottle in there.”
Janis kisses Regina on the cheek before gently untangling herself from her grip to get up. “Okay, I'll be right back, princess.”
The girl returns less than two minutes later, with the medicine bottle and a glass of water for Regina, who thanks her before swallowing one of the pills with the liquid and setting them on the bedside table when she's done. Janis climbs back under the covers and the blonde immediately snuggles into her again, kissing her jaw.
“Now get some sleep, yeah? I'll be here when you wake up.” Janis whispers, gently squeezing Regina in her arms and getting comfortable.
“Promise?”
The blonde's voice sounds exhausted but adorable. Janis sighs relaxedly.
“Of course, I would never miss our first date.”
Right! They're going on a date tomorrow! Regina can't fucking wait. She hopes she can impress Janis by taking her on the world's best first date. She might need a plan. Fast. Luckily, Karen and Gretchen have been really good at stupidly romantic plans since they started dating a few months ago. She'll text them asking for tips as soon as she wakes up.
“Good. See you in the morning?”
“You bet,” Janis says, pressing one last kiss on Regina's forehead and closing her eyes, allowing herself to drift off to sleep holding the girl she never thought she'd ever get.
Regina falls asleep feeling like the luckiest person alive. She won't waste this chance. She'll do everything in her power to make Janis feel just as lucky for as long as she can.

Between Mission and Seduction
X Men Masterlist
It's a beautiful, sunny morning as the X-Men team sets off on their next mission. The atmosphere is tense, as it's a delicate operation ahead. Charles Xavier, Erik Lehnsherr, and Y/N are sitting in the cockpit of the jet, while the other X-Men, including Jean, Scott, Logan, and Storm, have taken seats in the back.
"Okay, team," Charles begins calmly and focused. "Our target is a secret government facility where they are presumably conducting experiments on mutants. We need to be cautious."
"Pff, what nonsense," Logan mutters from one of the back seats, arms crossed. "When has it ever been easy?"
Erik, standing next to Charles, frowns and adds, "This time we really need to make sure no one gets left behind. The security will be extreme. They know we're coming."
Y/N sits quietly in their seat, looking at Charles and Erik with a mischievous smile. "Oh, don't worry, my focus is elsewhere. But sometimes distraction can be quite useful, right?"
Charles raises an eyebrow, trying not to react to the comment. Erik glances at Y/N with a thin smile. "Now is not the time for your games, love."
"Oh, really?" Y/N leans back casually as the jet speeds through the clouds. "You seem a bit nervous, Erik. But don’t worry, I'll be happy to help you relax later..."
Charles clears his throat and tries to refocus on the mission. "Y/N... it would be helpful if you could support us a little right now instead of..."
"...instead of completely distracting us," Erik adds dryly, his eyes still on the controls.
Y/N grins innocently. "But I am supporting you! After all, I'm here to make sure you both stay sharp outside the battlefield too. You know how important it is to stay focused... even if one looks so tempting."
Jean, sitting in the back with the others, tries to stifle a giggle. "Is it just me, or is it getting very... hot in here?"
Logan grins broadly. "I wouldn’t have missed it. I find it damn amusing how the two most powerful mutants in the world are thrown off by a single comment."
Storm shakes her head, but also tries to suppress a smile. "Focus on the mission, everyone. We're almost there."
Charles, his brow now slightly furrowed, closes his eyes briefly to collect himself. "Y/N, really... you're not making it easier for us to stay focused."
"Oh, but Charles," Y/N says with an innocent smile, "I thought you loved challenges."
Erik mutters under his breath and reaches out to check some metal parts in the jet to calm his nerves. "You know exactly what you're doing, Y/N."
"And you know exactly how much fun it is to see you like this, Erik," Y/N whispers in a seductive tone.
As the jet finally lands and the team heads to the ground, the tension is palpable. The facility is before them, well-secured and surrounded by guards. Charles and Erik strive to maintain their professionalism, but Y/N's comments still hang in the air.
"Alright, team," Charles says with a hint of tension in his voice. "We'll split up. Erik and I will handle the guards on the right side. Y/N, you... just stay close to us."
Y/N grins and positions herself between them. "Oh, I'll definitely stay with you both. After all, you're so... protective."
Erik sighs deeply and uses his magnetic powers to keep the guards' weapons at bay. "Y/N, please..."
"What? I'm completely on it!"
Scott, observing from a distance, speaks quietly to Jean. "Is it always like this?"
Jean nods. "This is nothing new. But it’s always fascinating to see how easily they get thrown off."
The team cautiously moves through the facility, bypassing the first guards who are effortlessly disarmed by Erik. Suddenly, a loud crash erupts as a hidden energy weapon activates and fires at the team. Before anyone can react, Y/N is struck by an invisible force and slammed against a nearby wall.
"Y/N!" Charles calls out immediately and sprints as fast as he can towards her.
Erik follows closely behind, both with panicked looks in their eyes. Y/N lies dazed against the wall for a moment before lifting her head and looking at them with a grin. "Too bad… I was hoping you'd slam me against the wall."
Erik comes to a sudden halt, staring at her with a mix of astonishment and affection. "Really, Y/N? Now?"
Charles, standing beside Erik and checking Y/N's injuries, shakes his head slightly but can’t suppress a smile. "You seem fine if you're still able to make such comments."
"Oh, I'm perfectly fine." Y/N dusts off her clothes casually and gets up. "But I could use a little… attention after the mission."
Jean, who has been watching from a distance, can no longer hold back her laughter. "I have to say, this is really incredible. The two most powerful mutants in the world, and Y/N is playing with them like they’re puppets."
Scott shakes his head in disbelief. "I don't think I'll ever be able to look at Charles and Erik the same way again."
Logan grins widely. "I like it. It shows that even the great ones aren’t invincible."
"Focus, Guys," Storm says seriously, though she too is trying to suppress her smile. "We have a mission to complete."
Charles sighs quietly and looks at Erik, who rolls his eyes but still wears a small smile. "Come on, Y/N," Erik says, "let's finish this up. We'll talk later." Y/N winks at him. "I'm looking forward to it."
As the team continues to search the facility, Charles and Erik manage to keep the opponents at bay, but they keep exchanging glances whenever Y/N dives into dangerous situations without a word.
"I think I need a little backup," Y/N says, winking at Erik as she knocks a guard to the ground. "Or should I save you both?"
Erik gives her an exasperated look, though there's also a hint of affection in it. "You know very well you don't need to save us. But I appreciate the effort."
Charles, focusing on monitoring the enemies' thoughts, takes a deep breath. "Let's finish this quickly before more... distractions come up."
At the end of the mission, as the team returns victorious and exhausted, Logan gives one last look at the trio. "That was the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time."
Y/N stretches and looks satisfied. "Well, you know what they say, a little fun is a must."
Charles and Erik, both with a mix of frustration and affection in their eyes, exchange a long glance. They know full well that Y/N will continue to present such challenges, but somehow, they wouldn’t have it any other way.

What aboutttt protective!bunny!lute x soft!bunny!female!reader ✨
Like ppl look down on the relationship cuz why would 2 "weak" bunny's be together. Lute's angry that she's prey because she has so many traits of a predator, like strength, protectiveness, and aggressiveness. So she is always trying to prove to the reader that she is enough to protect them, so reader doesn't leave her for a predator and so she always feels safe.
OMG Y3QH-
God lute would be pissed just throwing a tantrum. Her a bunny? He'll no-
Warning(s): fighting, Lute being lute, idk it's fluff, slight angst?
Bunny!lute x Bunny!F!reader: perfect mates
Sighing, you looked out the window, yet another courter outside your cabin confessing to you- like it is everyday. A predator courting a prey.
"My darling bunny~ I swear if you pick me I will protect you with my whole life~"
The wolf declared. On their knees, arms stretched out, fully expecting you to jump into them in awe touched.
"Not happening," staring deadpan uninterested as you gave the answer to the wolf as always. "I'm happily mated to Lute." Your ear twitched in hopes she's near- your beloved mate should be near soon. Should-
A laugh cut you off. The wolf covered their mouth once they heard who tou were mated to. Sighing you heard the same phrases you always heard 'another bunny? How could you be protected?' Whats so odd about having a mate of the same kind as you?
Never heard complaints with two predators but. Two preys? Mated? Oh that's wrong apparently.
"Now what the fuck. Are you doing?' A new voice called from behind you the familiar thumping from her foot. Signaling to you- Lute is pissed "flirt with my mate? Insult her? Insult me? Do you KNOW who the fuck I am?" Walking to the window her spear in hand
You sighed, knowing the exact outcome that's about to happen. Like all other times. With a blink, Lute jumped from the window, cursing up a storm challenging the wolf to a battle - who foolishly accepted. Turning, you went inside, not wanting to see yet another blood bath. Of your mate wining as always.
It didn't take long for Lute to come back inside. Her bloodied weapon thrown to the side as she rushed to you- "I'm fine, my mate," you whispered, watching her snarling ears twitching in irritating. If you didn't know she was a bunny- you'd assume she was a predator herself.
Like your first meeting. Her in her armor you assumed she was a wolf from how she behaved as ironic as you rethink now. "Your my mate. Who gives a damn what we are? She scuffed pacing around the room cleaning up the blood on her. Knowing how ir bugs you- after all you did just repaint the walls and redecorate after.. another fighting incident
"Your MY mate. I can keep you safe. Happy. No one else can! No one can keep up with my fucking speed!" She yelled out barking in rage
"Lute"
"LIKE. YEAH IM A PREY TO BUT-"
"Lute," you spoke, interrupting her rant, knowing if you didn't know she wouldn't have stopped. She'd continue the rest of the day. Getting more mad. More temper tantrums as all the other times before instead of getting angrier. She sighed sitting on the couch covering her face with her hands her ears drooping. "..my mate.. please.. what's going on?" You whispered softly following her close but keeping their distance
"I'm your mate.. bur. I'm a poor excuse of one. No one takes us seriously! If I wasn't a fucking bunny of all things. Maybe, " she sighed, trailing off for a moment to recollect her thoughts "maybe if I was another prey they would like.. I don't fucking know like a fucking deer. Those are acceptable." She snarled out sighing looking up at you sadly "I want to be the best mate for you. Who you'd want-"
"But you are," you cut off, cradling her face smiling "your everything I ever wanted in a mate.. and more. Your caring. Protective. Kind. Considerate all the things that make up a wonderful mate. That's you" you spoke softly
Holding her close as you could kissing her softly- you hummed smiling hearing the familiar thump. Not the same as the ones when she's mad. The thumps when she's happy - when she gets so unbelievably overwhelmed with herself, she thumps to show her gratitude. "I love you. I will only ever choose you. No other prey or predator will ever catch my eye. They can try, and they will. But you have my eyes. My heart. Everything.' You spoke softly, seeing her smile softly. "There's my girl ~"
With a deep, she sighed, grumbled, laying against your chest "..same here" she huffed out hiding in your neck her tail wagging happily smiling you held her- knowing that's the closest to her speaking of her feelings to much outwardly. Spoken allowed. Much less let you hear her.
The predators can try to court either of you. But you both knew they'd fail. Especially if they could see how you both stared at one another. How only you and her excited at a time the second you locked eyes. She hummed closing her eyes smiling. She truly loved you- and she's glad to hesr you state the same.

Seeing Your Dragon Form: First Years
(I feel like this chapter of the series may be crappier than the previous ones. I'm slowly running out of ideas and have used up quite a bit of my writing energy recently. I've come to realize that writing for the First Year Squad is just harder for me because I'm used to the pure crackhead energy the fandom gives them, but I'm still going strong! Oh well, I really want to write, so here I am!)
^Original note from Quotev that I put prior to the chapter. As a sort of mini explanation for my mindset going into this one.
Ace
Ace wanted to look unimpressed and chill, but he was currently losing it, and you could tell.
When you finally settled down, he approached you with his hands behind his head, really trying to hit home the idea he wasn't fanboying over you right now.
You brought your head down to allow him to get a closer look as well as touch your horns and snout.
He was a lot gentler than you thought he'd be.
He carefully ran his hand up and down your snout, making you hum in the process.
He tried talking to you, getting frustrated when you'd only hum and growl, before those two working brain cells in his head worked and he figured out that you couldn't actually talk.
He doesn't know, for some reason, a part of his brain just assumed you'd be able to talk.
Despite the current situation, Ace's behavior didn't change. He still tried to tease you, coming up basically unsuccessful because that's just how it is between the two of you, didn't stop him though.
Once, when you weren't paying attention, he tried to climb onto your back, not expecting the reaction that you'd have.
When you realized, you rolled over, trapping him under you. Due to the size difference, he was completely stuck, despite how much effort he put into trying to push you off him. You made sure not to hurt him though, and you didn't.
He could practically hear you laughing, even if it just came out as draconic grumbles.
sigh "You really never change, huh? You big bully! Though honestly, what can I say? I'm the same way, and I wouldn't want you any other way."
Deuce
Deuce was certainly nervous.
No fear. His brazen, delinquent years prepared him to take on any challenge that may be thrown at him, but this was definitely different.
He was stunned for a decent while after you transformed. Just kinda standing there, frozen in place.
Pretty sure his brain fried for a moment.
When he finally came back to his sense, he tried to play it all off with compliments, but really, there was no tricking you, but you gave him the benefit of the doubt and ignored it.
He was the most interesting by your wings.
(If I remember correctly)One of the reasons he likes being on the Track Team/Magical Wheel(?Can't remember which), is feeling the wind rush past him when he picks up speed. Because of this, he really admired your wings, which could do the same thing but ten fold.
He really wanted to ask you to take him on a flight with you, but was too shy to ask out loud. Maybe one day he'll have the confidence.
He made sure to be extra careful around parts like your horns, tail and other parts that may be considered sensitive/vulnerable. He didn't want to risk being even a little to rough and hurting you. He'd never forgive himself if he hurt you. (He doesn't realize how tough dragon skin and scales are, just give him a while).
All in all, it was a pleasant experience for the both of you. He had fun getting to see a new side of you, and you got to have a breather in your dragon form with no worries about who's around you.
"This is truly amazing. I can't believe you're capable of something like this. You really make NRC much more fun than it would be if you weren't here."
Jack
His reaction was much different from the others.
You and him are pretty similar in more ways than some may think.
Both of you are non-human beings capable of turning into a natural animal form. Him a wolf, you a dragon.
He was calm, but astounded. He didn't think you'd be quite so big.
He gets bigger than a normal wolf when he uses his Unique Magic, but he always assumed that was because he's a bigger person himself. Maybe it's just natural for anyone capable of this ability.
He was cautious to approach, not fully aware of how conscious you are, taking his own wolf state into account.
You just sat down, tail resting on the forest floor, wings at rest, showing just how comfortable you were in the situation. That convinced him that nothing had changed except how you looked.
He sat next to you, showing the same peaceful signs. Tail resting and ears calm.
You came closer, laying your head down next to his side. He reached out a hand and gently stroked the top of your head.
You two just stayed there like that for a while. Peacefully enjoying each others calm presence, until he stopped petting you.
You had gotten so used to the feeling and were so close to falling asleep, him stopping upset you.
In retaliation, you picked up your head and placed it down in his lap. He panicked for a moment before freezing, not knowing quite what to do.
He soon recognized the affectionate action. It was one his younger sister and brother would do when they wanted affection without actually saying they wanted affection. A silent plea.
He placed his hand back on your head, petting you like he was not even a minute ago. Sometimes he'd move his hand and scratch behind your ear, which caused you to hum and delight.
"We really are more alike than I thought. Are you sure you're not just a dog in disguise?" You grumbled at the playful tease, making him laugh.
Epel
Epel actually reacted much differently than you expected.
The moment he saw your dragon form, he wasted no time in rushing over and didn't even attempt to hide his complete adoration.
He jump up and down, bouncing on the heel of his feet. He rushed around, taking in every detail about you that he could.
His attention to speech completely leaves his mind and his natural accent slips in until he's speaking with such a think accent it's sometimes hard to understand what he's saying.
This may very well be the most excited you've seen Epel act, other than when he's getting competitive.
When he was finally able to wrap his head around everything and calm down, his demeanor changed on the dime, much like his personality can.
He softly took hold of your snout and held if close to his chest with his arms holding onto the underside of your head, something he likes to do even when you're in your normal form. For him, it's a show of trust, one he knew you'd understand.
A soft hum found its way out of your throat. He giggled at the affection.
You both took a rest and talked. It may have been a one-sided conversation, but he didn't mind.
He rambled on and on to fill the silence, accompanied with the occasional scratch under the chin.
There was a moment where he got jealous about how much bigger you were than him normally, let alone now. But, he soon got over it after thinking about how it must have just been natural since you weren't human.
"As much as I think it's unfair you can do all these cool things about how you look while I'm stuck like this, I'm still really happy that you opened up to me. I know what it's like to not be content with how you look, but we can do our own thing together!"
Sebek
Now, normally, Sebek is really respectful towards you. A byproduct from how he treats Malleus and how similar the two of you are.
Throughout the school year, it's taken some work, but you've gotten him to truly see you as a friend, not just another fae.
But, things did change a little bit after seeing your dragon form.
He's never seen Malleus's, because Malleus sees no use in taking his dragon form most of the time, so he didn't quite know what he was expecting to see from you.
When he watched a massive, spike covered, ice coated dragon walked out of the mist that practically came out of now where, he was honestly a little scared.
He remembered a story Lilia had told him and Silver once. It was about how once, when Malleus was young, he changed forms after throwing a temper-tantrum. After that, Sebek just started associating the idea with anger.
But, his time as a guard(and your friend) allowed him to be more observant than some. He saw every cue that would tell your current mood. There was no anger, only a calm curiosity. A curiosity towards him.
The idea of you watching him with the intention to see how he'd react embarrassed him. He turned his head to hide the reddening of his cheeks, but he didn't realize the red had crept up his ears and right into your watchful gaze.
You made a sound, one he didn't recognize, but it sounded faintly like laughter.
You were laughing at him!!!
He stomped a foot and grumbled under his breath, only causing you make more of the laughing sounds.
After that whole fiasco, Sebek finally felt comfortable enough to let down his guard.
His sharp hearing allowed him to quickly pick up on the different meanings of certain sounds, enough to have a semi-coherent conversation. He made sure to keep his voice quieter than usual, only being able to guess how sensitive your hearing may be right now.
Eventually, the interaction between the two of you fell into a comfortable and familiar conversation, like nothing was different about this scenario than usual.
"I really should be finding Waka-sama right now, but as Silver has told me, I may need to lighten up. So, we'll stay here for a while longer." His voice got just a bit quieter, "Thank you for showing me this."
And then the original note I put on Quotev after the chapter-
(Well, I think this set actually came out a lot better than I initially though it would. These five weren't as hard to write for as they usually are once I actually started soooo- YAY!!)
You can see the mindset change, wow.

Deepfrost Pass
More than a little inspired by @/mellozheist's want to give credit but not bother with my shipping nonsense so no tag unfinished Let It Go Tango animatic that I was watching... but as always I've got Rancher brainrot on my brain... have fun! 3.2k words
—
"Absolutely not," Grian snapped. "No. Not happening. You can't."
"Try and stop me," Jimmy challenged. "You're not a Watcher here."
"I am a Watcher here, but my powers are limited. Not gone. And I say no."
"Well I say yes. And you won't stop me." Jimmy shoved Grian out of the way of the door. "It's your fault anyway."
Grian's wings went rigid. "Excuse me?" he demanded, voice cold.
"It's your fault!" Jimmy retorted. "If you hadn't made that stupid server—"
"If I hadn't made that stupid server, you two wouldn't ever have met the way you did!" Grian spat back. "You wouldn't ever have known him like this if it weren't for me. If anything, you should be thanking me."
"I am grateful to you for that. But only that. The rest? Yeah, I do blame you for."
"If you go there, you'll die."
Jimmy shoved his arms into his coat. "That's a risk I'm willing to take."
"Tim—" Grian's hand lashed out and caught Jimmy's wrist. "Even I can't—and I'm a Watcher—It's just—there are nearly ten wardens in there. They've taken him over. He left for a reason. Can't you just—"
Jimmy shook Grian's hand off. "No. I can't 'just.' I know you think that whatever he found up there corrupted him or possessed him. I think you're wrong. That server was awful to him in a way he wasn't prepared for. I can take being the butt of jokes. I'm used to it. He never handled betrayal well and put on such a brave face that no one noticed. He snapped. And I'm don't care. I'm going to see him. I'm not here for very long before I'm going to get kicked."
"Tim, don't be stupid—"
"That's me. Stupid, stupid Tim," Jimmy spat. His wings snapped open and he hurled himself into the sky.
Grian was a fantastic flyer. He was small and nimble and could maneuver incredibly well. But he couldn't hold a candle to the raw power and strength of Jimmy's massive wings. That was what came from their height difference and builds. Jimmy was built for strength and speed. Most real canaries weren't, but he wasn't an actual bird, for crying out loud.
His armor barely even weighed him down as he surged higher into the sky. Grian would never be able to catch up. In small areas with lots of obstacles, Grian would win a race any day. But wide open sky going in a straight line? He'd have to work extra hard to keep up with Jimmy's casual flight.
He flapped his wings and soared higher. The world dropped even farther below. He knew this would be a long flight—hours, probably—but he would make it most of the way on the wing. Then the last leg of the journey on foot. He was prepared. He knew what he was doing.
He hoped.
All sorts of landscapes passed by beneath him. For hours. Gradually lifting up from plains into hills into foothills. Until he was in a taiga. Nearing the tundra tree line. Mountains surged up from the ground ahead of him, and he'd have to gain more altitude to access the pass between two of them that he needed. His wings beat the air harder, lifting him up until the air was almost too thin to cushion his wings and keep him aloft.
Jimmy flew until frost started to crystallize on his feathers. He knew he wouldn't be able to get any closer via flight, so he tilted into a sharp dive and braked hard, landing with a crunch of his leather boots in the deep snow. He pulled his coat tighter around him and drew his wings in close. They were so long that they dragged through the snow behind him. And they took the bite of this cold mountain range the most. But he couldn't let himself care about that.
He pulled a Blaze Rod out of his inventory and held it in one hand, a torch in the other. The Blaze Rod lit the torch and both helped keep him warm as he trudged up the mountain. He knew he couldn't be far now. The sun was going down. Mobs were going to start spawning soon.
He ate as he hiked. A golden carrot styled to look like a churro every so often. Scar had insisted he take them, so he had.
The sun went down. A full moon began to emerge over the mountain peaks. Jimmy caught sight of it when he was between peaks. There was no path to where he was going. Just the ever-worsening cold to lead him on. But he felt the direction in his heart.
So when he rounded the mountain and saw the fortress, he wasn't sure how to feel.
The thing was massive. Dark stone and teal accents. Grey-black towers clawed at the midnight-blue sky, as though trying to feed the stars to the gaping, frowning mouth partway up the enormous central tower. A warden's mouth.
The doorway was open, the portcullis raised.
Who needed security like that in a place like this? When the dangerous stuff was inside?
Jimmy stared.
The Deepfrost Citadel.
Blood. Pain. Screaming. Tango's yellow fire hair simmering down, blazing back up with the ice-blues and teals of soul fire. His friends' betrayals still lingering in his heart. The rage never fully going away, just pretending it was gone...
Jimmy still had some of Tango's memories. He remembered waking up in the middle of the night in Tumble Town, not too long after he first settled there after Double Life had ended, to Tango's screams in his nightmares. He remembered waking up months ago to a message from Grian, panicking that Tango had retreated into the mountains and no one had seen nor heard from him since.
Tango had even avoided him when he'd crossed over into Jimmy's world. Jimmy had rebuilt their ranch and everything. Tango promised it was his home. And then he spent all his time down in Gobland, too absorbed in work to... to ever... to ever come home.
A tear slid down Jimmy's face, trying to freeze but so hot that it made his skin tingle from the contact.
He trudged closer to the citadel.
Fine. If Tango was going to go back to his cave and his castle since returning home to Hermitcraft, then Jimmy was going to go to him.
He made it into the maw of the open doorway and shook off. Snow fell off his hair, wings, and the shoulders of his coat. His sheriff clothes were designed for the broiling heat of the mesa. They were thick and protective, but lightweight to release body heat.
Not a good idea for this taiga. He was freezing.
He climbed a long, dark staircase into a semi-constructed great hall.
"Tango?" he called. His voice echoed to the towers above him.
He heard the humming of a warden, coming from somewhere deep below. Just that sound alone made his blood run cold.
"Tango!" he called louder.
Something moved in the shadows cast by the soul fires. He whirled, expecting a warden or a ravager.
Nothing.
He held the Blaze Rod closer to his chest and extinguished the torch, tucking it back in his inventory. The lack of its warmth made his wings shiver. "Tango. Is that you?" he asked quieter. "Tango, please."
The movement was a shadow itself. Humanoid in shape, but nothing more than silhouette. It pointed, dodged to another shadow, and pointed again. Jimmy followed. "Tango, is that you?" Jimmy asked more urgently.
The shadow shook its head. Pointed again. Flitted to another shadow. Pointed. Jimmy followed its path.
A hole in the wall that led to a hole in the ground. The shadow briefly appeared, pointed down, and vanished.
Jimmy looked down apprehensibly. He didn't see any water... but there was a water elevator right next to this drop. Obviously a way up and down to somewhere.
Trusting in Tango, trusting in whatever they'd been on that first Ranch, hearts and souls in each other's hands, he closed his eyes and stepped off the drop, pulling his wings in tight so they wouldn't smash into anything or break and holding the Blaze Rod to his chest.
He landed on powdered snow, covered in a carpet square. It absorbed the damage of his fall. He ducked low to clear his wings and stepped out.
He was in a storage room. The walls were lined with rows and rows and columns and columns of chests. It was a remarkably compact storage room, all things considered. He'd seen the incredibly complex, sprawling system behind the doors of Scar's shop fronts in his theme park. That was huge. This was just chests. All shoved against one another. A Nether portal droned off to his left. And beside it, an archway that led out into a huge open cavern. Jimmy stood on the edge of the storage room's packed mud brick floor and looked out, his wings extending slightly behind him.
The cavern wasn't just some empty hole. It was filled with an unfathomably complicated web of redstone, all woven around structures. Jimmy couldn't make heads or tails of any of it.
This kind of area is where Grian's flying skills would be more beneficial than his. Jimmy could fly around in here, but he'd smack into every wall and track of redstone he came across. He couldn't maneuver anywhere near as well. This was an obstacle course dream for Grian.
Jimmy unfurled his wings and launched into the cavern, trying to keep his ridiculously long wingspan as close to himself as he could while still staying airborne while he flew around, searching the structures and the web of redstone.
"Tango?" he called. His voice echoed around the structure. He wondered if, for a moment, he actually saw that shadow running through the darkness alongside him. Or if he was losing it.
He heard giggling. Tango's distinct giggle. He pulled up short and banked in a circle, looking around.
"Hmhm! Dungeon's making me hear my birdie," Tango said in his high-pitched, silly voice. Sounding... slightly manic.
A firework rocket shot off. Jimmy heard the snapping of Elytra membranes. He looked around—
And caught sight of Tango flying back toward the storage room, a shulker box in hand. Jimmy twisted sharply and shot after him, catching his wings on tracks of powered and activator rails. He grunted in pain at the impacts.
When he finally made it back to the storage room, Tango was kneeling in front of a ground-level chest, rifling through it. He had a black hood on, attached to the long black coat he'd worn on Jimmy's world. The one that had spawned on him in Jimmy's nightmare when he snapped and his yellow fire hair had turned blue. The nightmare where the wardens broke through the ground at Tango's command and attacked the other Hermits who tried to contain them—and him—before he retreated up Deepfrost Pass and churned out his fortress.
He was singsonging under his breath as he moved materials from the chest into the shulker box. "Just keep workin'. Do the buildy-buildy. We'll show them. We'll show 'em all when I watch Ravagers munch their faces off. Especially Bdubs."
He shuffled over, popping another shulker box onto the ground and filling it with contents of another chest.
Jimmy just watched for a few moments.
"Gotta finish. Have to. Can't wait to feed the Hermits to the wardens."
Jimmy crept closer. He set a hand on Tango's shoulder. "Tango," he said gently.
"Wah-ga-gah!" Tango exclaimed, whirling around with his coat flaring around him. His hood fell off, revealing soul-fire hair. And, for just a moment, black eyes. But the black disappeared, and they were back to blue with deep blue sclera. He started laughing. "Very funny, Decked Out!" he called toward the cavern of structures and redstone. "Making me hallucinate Jimmy isn't going to speed things up, you know!"
"Tango, I—I'm not a hallucination," Jimmy said, tightening his grip on Tango's shoulder. The coat was so thick, he couldn't feel Tango's muscle giving underneath.
Tango leaned closer conspiratorially and winked. "That's what a hallucination would say," he said playfully. He turned back to his materials and kept shoveling them over into the shulker box.
"No, I'm not. Tango—" Jimmy grabbed Tango's shoulders and spun him around. "Look at me. I'm really here. I flew most of the way here and hiked the rest. I had to come see you. I had to—you—I miss you. I've barely seen you since our home worlds collided. You never came home to Tumble Town. The only reason I came through the Rift was to spend more time with you, and I've barely seen you since I've been here. You just left. What did I do, Tango? What have I done to warrant you avoiding me?"
Tango tried to turn back around, but Jimmy held him firm.
Tango blinked. Something like clarity sharpened in his eyes. "You're really here," he said.
"Yes. I'm here. I'm not some illusion or hallucination."
"I thought... the dungeon..." Tango looked out to the cavern, then back to Jimmy. Somewhere deep below, a warden hummed and sniffed. Jimmy's wings shivered. Tango's eyes snapped back to his. "I have to finish Decked Out. The dungeon needs to be whole."
Jimmy knelt so he and Tango were nearly at eye-level, still holding the shoulders of the coat. A glassy look made Tango's eyes unfocus.
"The others... they tried to stop me from leaving. But they've already held me back for so long. Bdubs betrayed me. We were teammates. He stabbed me in the back. He was no match for my wardens. Grian thought he was some almighty eldritch creature. But six wings are just more targets to get blastificated. Even Etho—the original!—was powerless to stop me when I finally let go of everything I'd used to hold myself back."
"Tango. Can you find it in yourself to forgive your friends?" Jimmy ran a hand through Tango's soul fire hair. It burned his skin in a way he wasn't used to. Soul fire was hotter than normal fire, but back when they were SoulBound, Tango's fire hadn't even been able to burn Jimmy's skin.
Tango bared his sharp teeth. His hair blazed brighter, higher, and hotter. Jimmy leaned away.
"Tango," Jimmy said soothingly. Repeating his name over and over to remind him who he was. To remind him he was a person. He cupped the side of Tango's face. "Look at me. Look at my eyes." He waited until Tango did. "Can you?"
Tango grumbled under his breath. Bitter and sarcastic.
"Hey. Remember when we first met? In Third Life? And I died to your lava game?"
"Dare to Flare," Tango said automatically.
"That's right. Do you remember when we met again in Double Life? After the creeper?"
Tango's voice pitched up. "You were angry."
"I wasn't," Jimmy said. "Not at you. Just that I'd lost the resources I'd gathered. It had nothing to do with you. And you were always so kind to me. I'm used to everyone putting me on the short end of the joke. You never did. You were a little sarcastic with me, sure. But you always put yourself at the short end of the joke. But you were kind to me. You're one of the only people who ever treated me with unconditional respect as a person, all the time. It's why I..." Jimmy cleared his throat. His wings twitched and ruffled. "It's why I fell for you, so fast."
Tango blinked, slow, like a cat. His head tilted into the contact of Jimmy's hand.
"You saw, while we lived on the Ranch, how everyone else treats me. I'm used to it. I encourage it. If they have to be mean to someone, they should be mean to me. I can take it. But you... you were never anything but loyal. Not just to me. To your team. And you got nothing in return but betrayal. You and me—we really feel our emotions. We pretend we don't, but we do. Our emotions are big and deep. The good, and the bad. Maybe it's why we got put together." Jimmy bent closer and rested his forehead to Tango's. "We have to learn to let the bad slide off, once we've felt it. You have to forgive the other Hermits. You have to let go of the rage."
Tango took a deep breath. "I... I can't."
"Please? Just try. For me?"
Tango reached up and wrapped cold hands around the back of Jimmy's neck, lacing his fingers together. "Birdie..."
"I'm only asking you to try. Breathe with me, and thing about letting it go."
"I'll try."
They shared deep breaths. Trying to tune out the wardens deep below. "Thank your emotions for keeping you safe, and release them," Jimmy whispered.
They knelt on the floor of the storage room for what felt like a long time. Just breathing and quietly encouraging Tango to forgive and let go. Jimmy kept quietly whispering affirmations he used to tell himself when he was learning not to mind the jokes.
A warden screamed somewhere below.
Tension surged out of Tango's shoulders and he slumped forward.
Jimmy caught him, cradling him to his chest. "I got you. It's okay. It's okay. You're fine." He rocked them both, his wings encircling them in a gold shield of protection. "What was that? Why did that warden...? Was Grian right? Were the wardens' influence bleeding into you?"
Tango shook his head against Jimmy's heart. "No. Other way around. My pain was bleeding into them. Wardens are mourners. They were mourning for me. But you're right. I can let it go."
Jimmy smiled. "That's it. Exactly."
There was a long pause. "I do still have to finish this game though. I've been working on it for so long—I can't just stop now."
"No, I know. But let it be just that. A game. Not a vessel for revenge or a channel for betrayal. Just a game."
"I can do that," Tango said. "Or. Well. I can try, anyway."
"That's all you need to do. Just try. Because there's merit in trying. And eventually, trying can pay off. Next thing you'll know, you'll be doing."
"Yeah... yeah. I can do that."
Jimmy kissed the top of Tango's head. The soul fire hair didn't burn him. "That's all I ask." He pulled back a little. "Come up with me? Outside? Come see the sky, please? The sun went down, but the stars are beautiful this far from everyone else. It's so dark and high altitude up here. They're beautiful."
"Okay."
Jimmy smiled. "Okay?"
"Yeah, yeah. Okay!"
"Come with me!" Jimmy pulled Tango toward the water elevator.

𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄 ft south terano
𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐬: He is annoying. He follows you around and keep asking you out. You hate him, he is violent and harsh but despite it all, you try out a challenge.
𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐞: fluff / ✮
𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠: minor languages
𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬: I've seen somebody blogging about how they want this kind of topic with South so I just had to do it, now that I'm in a good mood (kind of). Happy reading xoxo
Annoying grunts escape his lip upon hearing your same usual reply 'Tell me why do you keep saying no to me?' He persists and you roll your eyes at him 'Do I need to tell you the reason? I just don't like you.' You close your bag and leave him on the spot.
That guy's name is South. A random guy you met months back during your work hour - Actually, you met him the day before beating the heck out of someone. Ever since then he's been bothering you and keeps asking you out, on a date. But for one obvious reason, you declined every time.
You hate violence, in any form doesn't matter but you hate it, with all your guts and South is just violent and vicious.
You speed-walk to the bus stop upon hearing him irritatingly calls out for you. You screech on your steps hearing him holler at you.
'Stop following me.' You demand, and he chortles 'Why not? I want to date you.' You shake your head at the remark and run inside the bus once it stops.
You sigh in relief that he didn't manage to get inside, you see him yell for you to get back making you slightly laugh.
Somehow, you find him funny
The next day is just how you want it to be, no South and his annoyingly loud bike. You're serving food and beverages for the customers just perfectly but when your shift is about to end, the door chimes and he came. Of course, he cannot easily disappear.
'What do you want?' You deadpanned, one hand over your midsection, and giving him a knowing look 'Relax, gorgeous. I'm here as a customer.' He looks up from you to the menu board 'I'll have your most requested drink.' You type in his orders and give him the receipt along with the changes 'We'll serve you in a minute.' You give him one forceful smile as you watch him leave to his seat.
'South Terano!' You calls out and be glad that there are no customers occupied inside or that you'll scare them away by saying the infamous Rokuhara Tandai leader's name.
He takes the drink and gives it to you back 'And I give you that as your admirer.' He winks before he left the shop, whistling a tune.
You stare at the drink feeling flustered to your neck, you gasp putting the drink down and slapping yourself on the face multiple times 'Get yourself together, you idiot.' Once your shift ended, you left your workplace along with the drink.
A familiar bike entered your vision, South on the side of the road offering you a helmet 'Hop on, and I'll give you a ride.' You dismissed him right away 'No I'm fine.' You started to walk again but he stubbornly follow you behind closely 'Come on, don't be like that gorgeous, I'm tryna be nice here!:
You stop on your track yet again and glance at him 'I said that I am fine and please, stop being so nice. It doesn't suit you, at all.' He laughs watching you leave but still tailing behind like a puppy.
Once you reached the gate of your house, you finally turn your back on him again 'You can leave now, I think?' He smiles at you 'I'm still hoping we can go home together tomorrow, don't ya think?' You immediately said no.
'Just stop bothering me, South.' For a wink, you could see a glimpse of hurt in his expression but he shook it away 'You said my name.' You stayed quiet and he chuckles before he leaves the spot.
The last few weeks are you stressing over the tall giant about how he always insists on fetching you home but yet again, gets rejected? Today is no different, he'll follow around you with his bike until you made it safely to your house 'You know, you don't have to do all of this right? I'm fine.' You inform but he shrugs 'Who knows, one day you might change your heart and let me send you.'
You scoff and look away 'You really should stop bothering me.' The following words he said almost make your eyes fall out of their sockets 'Okay,' Did you hear that right? He agreed!
He waves at you before resounding his engine and fled away.
You stare at the spot he was at earlier before you went inside your house 'I'm home!' Silence. Of course, it's gonna be like this all the time anyway. Your parents are out for work leaving you alone in the house, to yourself.
You eat your dinner which is an instant noodle and a can of milk before you tread upstairs to your room to do work and fall asleep for school.
It's two days since you told South to leave you alone - he did. Two days and no sign of the gigantic male. No more of his annoyingly loud voice, his roaring bike, his sweet nothings when he spoke to you, or his quick remarks. A part of you is relieved that he's no longer here to bother with your work but another part of you feels empty. His loud noise used to fill your quiet surrounding but now it's gone back to square one.
A chime on the door jolted you up from your seat but it wasn't him. It was an old lady with a toddler. They ordered your cafe's most requested drink and now it makes you think of him, again.
How he bought this drink just to give it to you.
You serve them and after an hour they left, you let out a sigh of frustration and pack your stuff realizing that it's almost time to wrap up. The bell chimes one last time for the day 'I'm sorry but we're closing.'
'Oh, I'm not here to order.' The familiar voice almost makes you drop your belongings, and as you turn around you met with him. He's looking at you with his usual wide grin. 'Long time no see, gorgeous.' You almost smile at him but instead you scoff 'Yeah, as if.' He laughs at you 'I see the shop is shutting down. Going home?' You look down for a moment before nodding 'Yes, why?' You hope he would ask and he did.
'Cool, mind I send you off?' You get your bag and left the store, locking it 'I'll take that as a Yes.' He give you the helmet 'What about you?' He shrugs 'I don't need it.' He leap on his bike first with you following suit.
'Hold on tight,' You look at him, one brow forward 'What you mean-' He speed up the bike so suddenly that you almost flew from your place.
'Oh, my God!' You exclaim loudly, hands instinctively around his waistline hugging him tightly 'Slow the fuck down!' You yell and slap his chest multiple times but he laughs instead
The proximity between you two allows you to feel the vibration eliciting through his body once he laughs. You keep hugging - even tighter than before that your head about to bump against the back of his shoulder.
The ride home wasn't long and he finally stops. You dismounted from the bike took off the helmet and fix your hair 'Let me,' He messed up your hair making you hiss but he shush you before he gently put it back in its place and smiled 'There!' You glance at the mirror and smile to yourself 'Thanks,' You give him back his helmet and you stayed there not knowing what to say 'I'll go!'
He holds your hand with a smile on his face 'Come on, do you think I did it for free?' Your eyes widen making him laugh for the nth time of the day - night.
'What do you want?' Eyebrows cocking together as you wait for him to speak up 'Go on a date with me.' He casually said making you jump on your place 'Seriously?' He shrugs
You look between him and the road, contemplating. You give yourself an extended breath before you answer him 'Okay,' Well, it's not bad to try, was it?
He looks at you with his usual grin 'Great! I'll pick you up tomorrow!' He started his bike and waved off at you as you duplicate.
You rush inside your house feeling yourself hot all over. You did it. You are going on a date with South! A guy you hated - supposedly.
The next morning, you woke up early - extra early to choose your dress, not exactly a dress but a fit to wear. South did mention that this date is unlike the usual romantic date people have, he did say that he'll stroll around the city and go to his apartment. You disagree thinking of the possible worst ideas but he dismisses them. He said that he wants to show you something, something he's passionate about other than fighting. So you eventually agreed to it
You put your hair in two low buns and did some makeup to adore your face. After that, you put on the fit and lastly put on your New Balance sneaker.
It was nearly 3 when South picked you up but unlike the usual, he came with his bike but without the helmet per your request not to mess your hair up. You mount the bike behind him, adjusting it in place, and hug his waist before he started the engine and sped off.
You two ride around the city stopping by different places for food. He bought you ice cream, a soda drink, and fish-shaped taiyakis.
You two would sit by the road eating your lightt snacks before continuing with the strolling date.
It was almost five when he stopped at a house. It was big and similar to yours but maybe bigger. He turns off his bike before he hops off his bike and helps you on with it too.
You two strut inside his house to his room. It was quite big but it's dimmed. The room is painted in a dark navy blue color and it is spacious. The only thing inside is his bed, a walk-in closet if that counts, and an old piano.
He ushers you to follow him as he pulls out a wooden stool and sits on it offering you to sit beside him. His hand gently stroked the soundboards 'It's been a while!' He laughs pressing on one of the random keys before he aligns his hands on the boards.
'Hear closely.' He plays a tune, a gently melodic tune. It was vague and fast but it was calming too. His harsh but gentle pressing on the boards as he keeps playing the tune with his eyes closed and mouth gaping into a smile.
You watch him intensely but at the same paying attention to the melody. It sounds, tragic. After some point he stops playing and chortles once more 'That turns out very bad, isn't it?' You look at him still impressed by his performance 'That was - Decent. I don't know much about music nor classic instrument like this but I could tell that it was beautiful.' He grins at you giving you a pet on the head before he rejoins the piano playing yet another one.
You watch but after some time your gazes fall somewhere inside his room. His room is dark and clouded over. If depression is room, it would be like his but that one corner caught your attention. That one place where a rack is, placed right above the bed and a line of stuffed animals is neatly on it.
You almost couldn't believe it! This gigantic male over here, whom you - the civilians around here know as the brutal and vicious leader of the underground delinquent gang, Rokuhara Tandai is passionate about classical music and instruments, very skillful too but not only he also got bunch of cute stuffed animals and plushies as well?!
You laugh to yourself at the thought
Maybe he wasn't so bad himself.
You continued watching him play to the last and clap your hands once he was done. He turns over to you bowing as he laughs loudly 'I am so fucking cool!' He confessed 'Get over yourself!' You deadpanned making him snort.
You look back at him and the plushies feeling yourself smirking at the idea of exposing him 'Whatever you are thinking, I don't like it!' He honestly said before moving out of the room and you follow 'You are so cute having all the stuffed animals inside your room, who would know that you are such a baby, South!' He looks at you with wide eyes and pretends a scary stare making you, even more, worked out, and ended up laughing once more.
'Such a cutie!' You pinch his cheek, 'Says the one who had to tiptoe to reach my face!'

May Writing Challenge Day 17, 18!
Pairing: Detective Loki x Male Reader Summary: A conversation with your partner Words: 600/200 Warnings: mention of an old lady calling you a girl, use of Y/N once Notes: I'm not feeling very :) today
☁︎⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆
“You should’ve let me buy drinks.” You pout down at your coffee, it was lukewarm and tasted vaguely of plastic and was very unpleasant to drink. “Why? The shit they have at the station is just fine.” You look over at David and gawk – “Just fine? Are you crazy?” He huffs and shakes his head, chewing thoughtfully on the toothpick in his mouth. “No, seriously.” You set your cup of very disgusting coffee in the free cup holder and remove your seatbelt so you can twist your body to face him. The click of your seatbelt draws his attention and David looks down at the pretensioner and back up at your face. Your gut fills with butterflies at his gaze but you ignore them and press on, “Did all that smoking kill your taste buds or something?” He shakes his head and huffs, a small smile working up on his face.
“Sit back in your seat.” You shake your head definitely, – “No.” – “Why not?” You cross your arms. “Because I want to get to the bottom of why you like this shit.” David looks back at you and shifts the toothpick over to the other side of his mouth, “You can do that while sitting in your seat.” – “I am in my seat.” David gives you a warning glare. “Not the right way. Now come on–” He reaches over and pushes on your shoulder firmly to try and get you back in your seat. The touch erupts a fire in your stomach, David was never one to be touchy and every time he did touch you it almost felt electric. You huff and sit back in your seat, he nods affirmingly and looks back out of the windshield.
You leave your seatbelt buckled behind your back as to not set the warning off, not wanting to give David another reason to kick you out and into the pouring rain. “Try this and tell me it's good” You hold out your cup of offensive coffee, he looks down at it with an eyebrow raised and takes a sip. You see the grimace on his face before he has time to hide it and – “Aha! See? It's bad.” – “It's bad, yeah.” He nods and sets your coffee back into the cupholder. After his agreement you both settle into a comfortable silence, “You know that old lady?” He looks over at you as you break the silence. “Which old lady, Y/N?” He sighs – “The one that moved in next to you.” He raises his brow at you and studies your face as if he's trying to predict where this might go.
“Every time I go over to your place she's always out on her rocking chair,” You reach over to turn the speed of his wipers up, as the rain comes down harder. “And every time she sees me she asks me the same question.” – “Which is?” You look over at David from the windshield, he doesn't look amused at all, but he never looks amused. “She always asks if I'm your wife.” David snorts and shakes his head, “That's not real.” You nod enthusiastically, “Oh, it so is. She calls me a pretty young lady and everything.” He shakes his head again and puts the car in drive. “You’re lying to me, and you wanna know how I know?” – “Yeah? How?” He grins and your heart starts beating faster. “Cause you’d make one ugly woman.” You guffaw and scoff dramatically, “You are so mean to me David.” You aren't really mad, you find it hard to be when he's chuckling like that.

Pay You Back
wc: 1.3k (failed my own 1.1k challenge but close enough) pronouns: none used; n/a warnings: fluff, some themes of social anxiety/embarrassment in public but nothing descriptive, asking about financial troubles, hao being both your mom and boyfriend, he's in zb1 in this summary: idolboyfriend!hao has to come rescue reader when their card declines at the grocery store and he is not prepared to find out the reason it's maxed out. ~masterlist~ ♡ ~kofi (no pressure at all)~ so i wrote this to see if i could force myself to limit to under 1.1k words... i have a tendency to get carried away and not as many people like longer fics so. i failed bc i went 200 words over but it was a pretty close. anyway if i write shorter works, i can write more so i want to get back in the habit of it. better for my stress levels too lmao. just finished my second "semester" back at school i'm so happy!! third semester stars 7/3 tho so that's annoying but. i have one whole week to do nothing (except work but). ANYWAY hope you enjoy :)
“(Y/N)?” You hear your boyfriend’s voice as he enters the grocery shop. Even though Zhang Hao is quite reserved, he’s more than willing to make a small scene if you’re in trouble. “(Y/N)!?”
The store owner, who is also manning the checkout counter, lifts his arm high enough for Hao to see it over the aisles, pointing at you exaggeratedly— more than unamused.
Hao rushes over to where you stand in the checkout lane; your groceries half-bagged, half sitting askew on the conveyor belt. A couple people are beginning to line up behind you. He frowns, trying to decipher what about this scene could’ve possibly made you text him:
🚨 EMERGENCY AT MARKET!! PLEASE COME HELP!! 🚨
“Honey, what’s wrong?” He asks, brows furrowed in confusion. “You said there was an emergency!”
“Is not being able to pay for your large grocery order after someone has already gone through the trouble to scan and bag most of it an emergency?” The owner asks, resentful eyes still locked on your embarrassed ones.
Hao starts to open his mouth to respond, but the owner cuts him off. “I’ll answer for you. It is an emergency... if the owner forgot to pay his utilities bill and the electricity went out while his wife was curling her hair for work this morning.”
Your boyfriend glances at you then back at the store owner. “Right…”
“I tried to just leave, but he kept this exact same rant going for ten minutes,” you whisper to him as the owner continues to moan and groan about how his wife chased him around the house with a slipper. “I’m really sorry to bother you. I know how busy you are.”
Hao shakes his head definitively. “It doesn’t matter how busy I am— I’ll always have time to help you out,” he says with an affectionate smile, raising his hand to squeeze your right shoulder comfortingly. “As long as you continue to conveniently call when I’m already on lunch break.”
You sigh, looking back down at your shoes in embarrassment.
“Did you forget your credit card? Is that the issue?” Hao asks, taking his wallet out of his back pocket before you even answer.
The store owner laughs. “Worse. It declined.”
Hao looks at you concernedly. Maxing out your credit card was not like you at all. Despite the occasional shopping splurge, you were usually quite practical with money. The look of worry on Hao’s face is valid.
Still, he hands his own credit card to the store owner and begins throwing some of your grocery items into bags himself. As the owner hands Hao his receipt and credit card back, you pick up a few of the bags and head toward the sliding doors. Hao grabs the last bag and follows quickly behind you.
When you’re outside, you breathe a deep sigh of relief; even a couple of people’s annoyed stares had caused your heart to speed up and your body temperature to rise. Hao falls into step beside you, but it takes you a few moments to relax enough to remember he’s there.
When you finally look over at him, he smiles reassuringly. The token introvert had set aside his nature (and sacrificed his coveted lunch break) to rescue you. And he’d also paid for your groceries.
“I’ll pay you back,” you promise softly, cheeks turning rosy once more.
Hao purposely bumps into your side as you walk, trying to get you to smile and break your tension. It works. You scrunch your nose up at him in a smile and he glues himself to your side, hooking a finger in your back pocket to keep you as close as possible as you make your way down the quiet street.
After another few moments of comfortable silence, Hao clears his throat. “So,” he starts, trying his best to sound nonchalant. “Are you behind on credit card payments? There’s no shame in it; it happens.”
“No,” you answer simply, shaking your head as you steal a glance at your boyfriend. You watch as his brow furrows in confusion.
“Oh,” he replies, lips forming a small pout. “Well, you know you could tell me if you were, right? I'd do my best to help you if that’s what you needed.”
“I know,” you say with a smile, watching again as he blinks curiously-- trying to figure out what the problem could be. “I’d tell you if I was having financial problems. I'd refuse your help, but I would tell you.”
“Right,” he affirms, nodding as if to convince himself that he could end his interrogation there. He fails, of course, and an unstoppable flurry of questions begins to fall from his lips. “So... So what happened? Did the card expire or something? Why didn’t you use your debit card? There’s money on your debit card, right? And I know you despise cash, but--.”
You stop walking and Hao’s finger still hooked in the pocket of your jeans pulls him back to face you. “There is an incredibly simple explanation for this,” you explain, placing your grocery bags on the ground for a moment as you pull your credit card out of your phone case. “This card isn’t my usual credit card. It’s a very limited credit account that I opened for a specific purchase. It looks almost identical to my actual credit card I use on a normal basis so I grabbed this one by accident before I left this afternoon. I was in a rush and couldn’t find my debit card, so I took what I thought was my credit card thinking I’d be fine, but... I was obviously not fine.”
“Ohhh,” Hao sighs, nodding in both comprehension and relief. “Well that makes a lot more sense. I was worried about you! I didn’t think you’d suddenly developed some sort of debilitating shopping addiction, but...”
“Rest assured,” you soothe, picking your bags back up and continuing with your boyfriend down the street to the bus stop. “I have plenty of money. I wish I had more, of course. But it’s enough to survive for now.”
“Are you sure you want to take the bus?” Hao asks, running his hand down your back comfortingly. “I can drive you.”
“No, you can’t,” you reply, taking the last grocery bag from his hands and draping it on your arm. You rummage through it for a moment before pulling out a fresh deli sandwich. “Your lunch break is almost over and I've used up all of it already. So, eat this on the way back to Wakeone or I will find you and I will shove it down your throat myself.”
“I can see you’re back to normal,” Hao says with a grin, taking the boxed sandwich in his hand as you reach the bus stop. “I love you.”
“Love you more,” you say, checking to make sure no one is around before kissing his cheek. His eyes closed, he sighs blissfully.
Your bus makes its way around the corner, pulling to a stop in front of you.
“Oh, I forgot to ask,” Hao says quickly as you walk up the steps. “What was the purchase that you opened that new credit card for?”
You turn around, biting your lip in a smile. “I bought 40 copies of your debut album!”
“YOU DID WHAT!?”
You’re not sure if you’ve ever seen Zhang Hao more shocked than he is right now. You’re lucky the sandwich box didn’t fly out of his hand and onto the sidewalk.
“It’s okay: I’m pretty sure I made a good investment!” You call back with a wink to your boyfriend, whose jaw is still dropped as the bus door begins to close. “Didn’t I?”
All Hao can do is nod-- a slow, exaggerated nod as he processes what you’ve said.
You wave at him, grinning-- any embarrassment you had felt ten minutes ago entirely washed away. Zhang Hao may have had to buy your groceries for you, but you think you might’ve already paid him back.
As the doors close, you call to a now smiling but awestruck Hao:
“You’re welcome!”

All I Need Is You!
Paring: Tom Cruise x fem!reader
Summery: After another big fight with your dad about your husband and alot of mean things said all you want is to be in the arms of the man you love.
Warnings: age gap, fighting, yelling, asshole dad, alcohol(lot of wine) kissing, comfort
A/N: This was requested anonymously so who ever send in the request I hope you enjoy it! I aged Tom down a bit in this story so instead of him being 62 he's 54! Also yall send more requests I am really enjoying writing and the challenges that come with it!!!
You know those days where you just wanna scream and cry and maybe even hit things maybe even somebody...yeah today was one of those days for you. And all you wanted was 2 things... your husband and the biggest glass of wine you had in the house.
Your sitting in the Los Angeles traffic with tears streaming down your face. Some out of anger, some sadness, and some out of frustration. You just had the millionth fight with father about your husband and the age gap between the 2 of you.
Even tho this isn't the first fight about the age gap this was the worst by far.
FLASHBACK:
"DAD WE GO THROUGH THIS EVERY DAMN TIME I STOP BY. I JUST WANTED TO GIVE MY LITTLE HER BIRTHDAY GIFT. I LOVE TOM WHAT DO YOU HAVE AGAINST HIM" you yell
"MY DAMN PROBLEM IS HE'S OLDER THEN ME THATS THE PROBLEM "
"SO WHAT THAT HES OLDER! HE TREATS ME GOOD TAKES CARE OF ME AND HE LOVES ME"
"HES BEEN MARRIED 3 TIMES HE HAS 3 KIDS, HIS KIDS ARE CLOSER TO YOUR AGE THEN HE IS! AND I THOUGHT YOU WANTED A FAMILY HOW CAN HE GIVE YOU A FAMILY" your father yells and throws his hands up
"I DO WANT KIDS AND WE ARE TRYING IT..." your dad cuts you off with a low chuckle and it made you even more pissed off "WHAT ARE YOU LAUGHING AT"
Your dad looks at you still with a smirk before saying in a lower voice "your just an young easy piece of ass a sugar baby and you are to damn stupid to see that he's gonna leave you and when that happens don't come crying to me" you stood there with so much anger in your body your fist clenching so tight your knuckles were white.
"Don't worry I won't because I know that's never gonna happen" you tell your dad and turning to walk to the door, but not before one last blow from your dad
"One last thing...until you're done being a slut with actor boy you are no longer a member of this family"
You fight back tears as you walk out the door head down the driveway to your car and speed away.
PRESENT TIME:
You pull into the home you and Tom share and park in your usual spot. You turn the engine off and sit in silence collecting your thoughts. You see Tom's car letting you know he was home.
You don't want your husband to see your red puffy eyes so you take a minute and fix yourself up. You take a deep breath grab your purse get out of the car and start you way to the door. At the door you take one more deep breath to steady your nerves.
You close the door behind and something hits your nose and it smells really good.
"Tom baby I'm home" you yell
"In the kitchen babygirl"
You make your way to the kitchen where you find Tom chopping vegetables. You smile at seeing your husband in the kitchen he's such a good cook on top of being good at everything else.
You walk over behind him wrap your arms around his middle and lay your head on his back. You take him in, this smell, his firm body, the way he breathes everything that makes Tom...Tom.
"Hey babygirl how was your day" he ask as he turns around and give you simple kiss on your lips.
"It was fine" you smile back hoping he believes you. "What smells so good" you ask
"I wanted to cook for you I love you" he says leaning in for another kiss. It takes everything in you not to cry, your big fight with your dad fresh in your mind.
"Beef Stir-fry" he smile back.
"Not that I'm complaining but I thought it was my day to cook" you ask reaching over and grabbing a piece of pepper.
"I love you to Tommy"
"Now dinner will be ready in 20 minutes why don't you go take a quick shower and by the time your done I will have your plate and glass of wine waiting for you" he smiles pulling you closer to him
"That sounds perfect"

Dinner was delicious but you didn't have any doubt it wouldn't be. You help Tom clear the table and clean the kitchen before deciding to watch a movie.
On the way out of the kitchen you grab a new bottle of wine and the cork screw, that's how Tom knew something was definitely wrong.
He had a feeling but didn't want to push maybe it was just a bad day everyone has those he thought to himself. But you had already drank 3 glasses of wine and grabbed another bottle, you didn't drink that much wine unless something was really bothering you. He doesn't want to pry so he decides to let you come to him.
You plop down on yours and Tom's big couch and look for a movie.
"What movie do you wanna babygirl" he ask getting to the movie listing's
"Ummmmmmm, let's watch one of yours please" you look at him with a smile and he rolls his eyes
"Really one of mine" he laughs and you just nod with a smile "fine what one" he ask giving in knowing what movie you were gonna choose.
"War of the worlds" you smile at him.
He laughs then finds the movie "out of all my movies why is this one your favorite" he ask hitting play
"I don't know I always found you super sexy in it" you wink and Tom just laughs
Your half way through the movie when you get up and come back with another bottle of wine. That's when Tom decides he can't wait for you to tell him what wrong he is gonna have to ask. So he pauses the movie and turns to look at you
"Baby girl that is the 3rd bottle of wine you only drink that much when something is really bothering you so please tell me"
"Tom I'm fine I just felt like wine" you do your best to lie but you feel the tears welling up in your eyes and Tom sees them too
"Then why are you holding back tears baby" he whispers and pushes your hair back, that little gesture made the dam brake and you couldn't hold back anymore.
Tom pulls you close and wrapped you in his arms holding you tight and let you cry. After what felt like forever you were finally composed enough to speak
"I stopped by my parents after work and got into with dad...again" you say in a soft voice
That makes Tom tense up he knew how your parents felt about yalls marriage and have seen on more then one occasion the screaming matches.
"Baby I'm sorry if you would have told me I would have went with you" he said wipping your tears
"I wasn't planning on stopping but I wanted to take Hope her birthday present and I wasn't expecting dad to be home. It was a really bad fight this time".
"What did he say" Tom ask
The tears starting coming once again but you fought through them. You told Tom how your dad said Tom was with you because you were easy how you were slut and he was gonna leave you brought up hows hes been married 3 other times and how his kids are more your age and he cant give you kids. Then you took a deep breath to get out the next part...
"Then he said as long as I'm with you I'm not longer a member of the family well that was the nice way of putting it" you told him as the tears fell like a waterfall once again.
Hearing all this pissed Tom off to no end. He knows there is a pretty big age gap 21 years to be exact. He always knew your father was never in support of you and him which is why the 2 of you decided to elope. Tom held you til you calmed down then grabbed your face and wiped your tears
"Baby girl look at me" he say. You look up into those big hazel green eyes, the same ones you feel in love with.
"I'm sorry your dad said all those things and I wish more then anything I could punch him for it but I hope you know none of what he said was true. For one my kids adore you especially Suri. And yes I have been married a few times and with every one of those I learned what not to do and I like to think that makes me a better husband I don't plan to ever leave you if you want to get rid of me you gotta do it but I promise I'll make it hard" he says with a laugh before he continues "your dad is wrong about so many things we know he never approved of us and I can see where he's coming from but also you are more then my wife you are my soulmate, my best friend, my biggest supporter, you are my everything and I can honestly say in my 54 years and 3 marriages you make me the happiest I have ever been. So don't let your dad get to you because I promise I'm not going anywhere you're the l Iove of my life"
When he finishes you have new tears in your eyes but this time they are happy tears.
"I love you too Tom so much it hurts, and you know you're all I need in this world to be happy" you say as you pull him down for a heated kiss. Tom pulls away breathless with a smirk on his face before saying
"What do you say we go make that baby Mrs.Cruise" he gets up and hold out his hand for you to take
"I'll race you to the room Mr.Cruise" then you take off running with Tom close on your heels, he reaches you and throws you over his shoulder and you laugh walking the 2 of you to your shared bedroom.

Sonadow Moments in Sonic Cyber Revolution (The Ultimate Lifeform Arc)
[...]
Shadow was standing on the top of the arch-like structure over Cosmo Bridge, arms folded on his chest, the roadway below him being littered with the beaten and flickering bodies of the Irregular Hunters that had found him, most of them near deletion and unable to call for back-up. It was surprising just how fast and easy it was to take all of them out, which spoke a lot about Shadow's power… or the Irregular Hunters' incompetence. Admittedly, Shadow didn't even know that there were ARNavs who were hunting down the Irregulars. Not that it mattered in the long run.
I will get my revenge.
His eyes narrowed when he saw a blue streak of light appearing on the bridge and skidding to a halt, revealing itself to be a blue hedgehog ARNav. The two hedgehogs locked eyes with each other for a moment, with the blue one calling someone before turning back to Shadow.
''So, you're the one who beat up the Hunters, you fake hedgehog,'' Sonic said, clenching his fist. Shadow leapt off the structure he was standing on, doing a frontflip and using his air shoes to cushion his fall as he landed in front of Sonic, his arms folded on his chest. Sonic rolled his eyes, looking unimpressed as he muttered, ''Show-off.''
''It is their own fault that they couldn't put up a decent battle,'' Shadow replied, taking a battle stance. He had figured that the blue hedgehog was just another challenger he could easily take down. ''You shall join them.''
''We'll see!'' Sonic leapt backwards when Shadow dashed towards him, then quickly used his super speed to charge at his opponent. However, the black-furred hedgehog vanished suddenly, appearing right behind Sonic and kicking him away. Sonic hit the ground hard, shaking his head and getting up. ''Okay, not bad. I see you've got a couple of tricks up in your glove, but you're not the only one,'' he said as he turned towards his foe. Shadow braced himself for Sonic's next attack. Sonic dashed towards his opponent, with the black-furred hedgehog anticipating the attack and using his air shoes to dash towards Sonic. However, in the last moment, Sonic dodged the attack, curling up into a ball and spin-dashing at Shadow, knocking him down. As Sonic landed back on his feet, Shadow frowned, observing his foe as he got up.
''Hmph,'' he said, an amused smirk on his expression. ''I thought I would take you down in one hit, but it seems like you're more resilient than I thought. What is your name?''
''I'm Sonic the Hedgehog,'' Sonic replied. ''You?''
''Shadow the Hedgehog,'' Shadow responded, clenching his fist as he glared at his opponent. ''I am the Ultimate Life Form!''
''Ultimate Life Form or not, you're going down, pal!'' Sonic ran towards Shadow, performing another spin dash. Unfortunately for him, Shadow decided to counter him with the same move, with the two hedgehogs ending up clashing in a race across the bridge several times, each trying to knock the other away. Sonic leapt back, with Shadow ramming into him, knocking him away. He then suddenly teleported away, kicking Sonic in the back, sending him flying. Then, he teleported again, punching him, with Sonic landing on the ground hard.
''Is that really everything you've got?'' Shadow asked, his eyes narrowing as he observed Sonic trying to get up. ''Pathetic.''
Without answering, Sonic suddenly got up and rammed him, knocking Shadow away. However, Shadow kept his balance thanks to his air shoes, only to get spin-dashed from the back, with Sonic then going for another attack from the side. However, Shadow teleported again, appearing above Sonic and knocking him down. Despite being badly bruised, Sonic slowly got up, gazing at Shadow, who was standing on the guardrail and looking down at Sonic, a smug smirk on his expression.
''Sonic!'' Sonic perked up, turning around and seeing Lucas joining him at the battlefield. ''Are you okay?''
''I'll be fine,'' Sonic replied, glancing back at Shadow. ''I'm not beaten yet!''
Shadow remained silent, his eyes narrowing as he observed the two. The reason why he was at Neos City was because he had a mission to complete, but he got distracted by the Irregular Hunters and decided to dispatch of those who stood in his way. So far, only Sonic had actually proved to be a challenge, even he couldn't match him in raw power. Shadow figured that he could just end the blue hedgehog right there and then, but then decided against it.
''I don't have time for these games; farewell!''
Sonic and Lucas stared at the spot from which Shadow had vanished, with Sonic breathing heavily as he muttered, ''Shadow… what is he?'' He turned to Lucas, who gave him a troubled look, as if wanting to answer but knowing that the answer would not help them much. Sonic's ears then twitched as he heard sirens in the distance. ''These guys really have bad timing.''
[...]
With that said, he ran off towards CyExLabs, having reached the place in a few seconds. However, even those seconds didn't matter, as Shadow had already defeated the Irregular Hunters, skating down the street, away from the CyExLabs. Sonic knew that, if Shadow teleported now, they would lose him for good. As for how he'd get Shadow to follow him, he wasn't completely sure.
Okay, this is what I'll do. Step one: Light taunting. Step two: I have no idea. Sonic hoped that this would work, preparing for the worst as he called out, ''Hey!''
Shadow turned around, visibly surprised to see Sonic here. ''You again…''
''I've found you, Faker!'' Sonic walked up to Shadow, pleased that he got the latter's attention.
''Faker? I think you're the fake hedgehog around here,'' Shadow replied. Admittedly, he was both annoyed and intrigued by Sonic's sudden appearance. ''You're comparing yourself to me? Ha! You're not even good enough to be my fake!''
''I'll make you eat those words!''
Sonic achieved exactly what he wanted, grinning when he saw Shadow charging at him. Instead of attacking back, he ran off towards the meeting spot he and Lucas had agreed on.
''Coward!'' Sonic heard Shadow yell behind him, but ignored it. It would take him just a few seconds until they arrived at a secure spot. He then entered a narrow street, dashing from wall to wall and jumping over a fence. Fortunately, Shadow was still following him without question.
''I thought you'd be able to keep up with me, Faker!'' Sonic taunted him. ''Looks like you're not as fast as I thought.''
''I'll show you…'' Shadow frowned, not even registering that Sonic had slowed down when they reached an underpass at an area devoid of people. He passed Sonic, then stopped, turning towards the blue hedgehog. His eyes narrowed. ''What is the meaning of this?''
''I want to talk to you,'' Sonic said in a calm tone. Shadow stepped back, glaring at the latter. ''You've been causing trouble among the Hunters, but I figured that you were just defending yourself, since you're an Irregular and all that. So, why are you here?''
''That is none of your business,'' Shadow responded curtly.
''It is if you are going to continue causing trouble for me, my friends and everyone else in Neos City,'' Sonic replied.
''Hmph, Neos City will soon be no more,'' Shadow responded. Sonic's smile vanished and he frowned as he observed Shadow.
''What are you talking about?'' he asked. ''I don't understand. Is Neos City in danger?''
''Neos City… All of the humans…'' Shadow started, slowly opening and closing his fist. His tone was calm, almost devoid of any emotion. ''I'll be the judge of their sins.''
Sonic felt a chill flowing down his spine as he saw Shadow's demeanor changing. ''What… are you…?''
''So, don't get in my way!'' Shadow yelled, summoning an orange and crimson bolt of energy, throwing it at Sonic.
''Wha-?!'' Sonic dodged Shadow's attack, with Shadow suddenly charging at him. Sonic crouched, managing to throw Shadow backwards, but the black-furred hedgehog landed on his feet, his air shoes keeping him in balance.
''Sonic!'' Both Sonic and Shadow looked up to the top of the underpass, with Lucas flying down on his hoverboard, stopping next to his partner. He and Sonic exchanged a nod, both turning towards Shadow, with Lucas adding, ''I had hoped that Sonic would be able to talk to you, but if you refuse to explain anything to us, then we'll have to fight you.''
''I will welcome any challenge,'' Shadow responded. Lucas turned to Sonic.
''Ready?''
''Yeah! Let's do it!''
Both extended their hands, with Sonic sensing Lucas' BioEnergy. They didn't even make any physical contact this time, yet a blue orb of energy appeared between them, with both exclaiming, ''Chaos Surge!''
To Shadow's shock, both absorbed the energy orb, both gaining an aura, with electric sparks surrounding their bodies. His eyes narrowed and he gritted his teeth as he realized what was going on, his voice only a whisper, ''How… dare you…?''
''Time for Round 2, Shadow!'' Sonic said, clenching his fists and taking a battle stance. Lucas stepped away, despite the overflowing energy he felt. He still couldn't control his super speed properly and he felt that it would be better to leave this one to Sonic. Not to mention, if he exhausted himself, then Sonic would lose power as well.
''Why… are you… using that…?'' Shadow continued, suddenly overwhelmed by a memory of the past. He could hear Touka screaming in fear; he could remember absorbing her BioEnergy; he could see her lying on the ground, motionless. Shadow felt a tranquil fury surging through his body, the sense of rage overwhelming him. He clenched his fist, summoning another bolt of energy. ''Unforgivable!''
Sonic dodged the bolt of energy Shadow had fired, stunning the latter with his increased speed. He suddenly appeared right in front of Shadow, kicking the latter into the gut. Shadow fell on one knee, blue sparks of electricity enveloping his body and paralyzing his limbs. Sonic stepped in front of him.
''Why are you so upset?'' Sonic asked. ''If we could just talk– agh!''
Sonic managed to dodge another bolt of energy, but Shadow suddenly teleported behind him, kicking him in the back of the head, his attack boosted by his air shoes. Sonic flew, hitting the pavement hard, but then got up again, just in time to dodge another bolt of energy.
''How dare you to utilize BioEnergy this way? Do you have a death wish?!'' Shadow yelled at both Sonic and Lucas.
''Wait, so you know about this?'' Lucas asked. Shadow gritted his teeth, feeling that he revealed a bit too much. After all, no one was supposed to know what BioEnergy could really do, especially in the hands of an Irregular.
''It doesn't matter,'' Shadow told the two. ''None of it will matter once I'm done with Neos City and everyone inhabiting it.''
''Wait!'' Lucas yelled, but it was too late. Shadow had already teleported away.
''What should we do now? He's gone!'' Sonic said, feeling the Chaos Surge power-up fading away. ''It sounded like he wants to take revenge on Neos City or something like that.''
[...]
Sonic ran through the facility, searching for Shadow. He knew that Lucas was right and that their priority was to find the black hedgehog and learn what exactly he was up to. He thought about his earlier encounter with Shadow, remembering how upset the latter was after he saw him and Lucas performing Chaos Surge. He had to wonder what exactly Shadow had experienced to make him react like that. Sonic knew that something happened, something really bad, and that Shadow needed help rather than a fight. Still, if the latter chose violence as a response, Sonic wasn't afraid to fight back.
Now, where might a black hedgehog with a cryptic reasoning for his actions be? Sonic eventually skidded to a halt in a hallway, looking at the doors. He crackled his knuckles. Okay, we shall do it the old-fashioned way, aka relying on pure luck. Sure, speed may be one of my best qualities, along with my handsomeness and charm, but as Lucas had told me once, I miss things if I don't slow down. So, let's see if my gut feeling is going to help me. Sonic walked down the hallway, randomly opening doors in hopes of finding Shadow in one of the many rooms. So far, he hadn't much luck with the first few, his ears lowering in disappointment when he opened another one that was empty.
Sonic then stepped back into the hallway, taking a deep breath and trying to figure out which door he should open next. What if Shadow wasn't here? Maybe they had missed him, or he didn't return yet. Sonic kept walking, looking from one door to another, until he eventually came across one that, at least to him, looked important. Com'n, luck! Don't disappoint me again!
His eyes widened in surprise as he entered the room, finding himself surrounded by computers. At one of them was Shadow, too focused on the monitor before him to notice Sonic's presence. Sonic, on the other hand, was relieved that he had finally found him.
''Shadow!''
Shadow suddenly turned around when he heard Sonic calling his name. His eyes widened in shock, his quills bristled, questioning how in the world Sonic had managed to find him, let alone figure out which room he was in. Did he place a tracker on him? No, that wasn't possible.
''What are you doing here, Hedgehog? How did you find me?'' Shadow asked in a demanding tone.
''Well, you know how they say; persistence pays off,'' Sonic replied, shrugging. ''You weren't easy to track down, especially once you teleported away, but I am glad that I had found you. We still haven't finished our conversation, and I have a bunch of new questions for you.''
''If you know what is good for you, you would leave me alone,'' Shadow replied, briefly glancing back at the monitor. He was almost done with the program that would turn Neos City to ashes, but Sonic had just arrived before he could type in the final code. However, when he looked back at the blue hedgehog, it appeared that he had no clue what Shadow was up to.
''Unfortunately for you, this is just how I roll. You still owe me an explanation,'' Sonic said, observing Shadow as the latter sat back at the computer, typing something on the keyboard, now a little calmer. ''What was that talk about how you'll be the one to judge Neos City, and why did you freak out when Lucas and I had used Chaos Surge? Have you seen it before?''
When Shadow didn't answer, Sonic started to tap impatiently with his foot, his arms folded across his chest. He was about to approach Shadow, when the latter slammed his hands against the desk suddenly, getting up. It appeared that he was done with whatever he was working on.
''You're really getting on my nerves, Hedgehog,'' Shadow told Sonic. To his surprise, Sonic just grinned.
''Yeeeah, that's what a lot of people tell me. So, what's your deal?'' Sonic asked nonchalantly.
''Since you made the effort to find me at this place, I will give you a choice,'' Shadow replied, with Sonic's carefree attitude vanishing as he listened carefully to the former. ''You can either perish at my hand, or you can observe Neos City, including this part of Starpoint Area, be consumed in a massive explosion, you and everyone within the radius meeting their creator.''
''What?'' Sonic stared at Shadow for a moment, shocked. He felt cold chills running down his spine as he processed what Shadow had just told me. ''What are you talking about? D-Do you want to nuke Neos City?''
''I guess you could describe it that way,'' Shadow replied, folding his arms across his chest. A sinister smirk spread across his lips, showing his fangs. ''What I'm offering you is an act of mercy. Even if you're an ARNav, I'm certain that you wouldn't want to go down in such an awful way.''
''You're trying to tell me that you're going to kill off everyone in Neos City and that I should be happy to die at your hand, did I get that right?'' Sonic asked, his eyes narrowing. Shadow just glared at him, not even responding. ''Oh, no, pal, I'm not going to do that. Now, here's what is going to happen. You'll stop this explosion and we'll have- agh!''
Before Sonic could even finish his sentence, Shadow had formed a bolt of orange energy and fired it at Sonic, who managed to dodge it in the last second. The bolt of energy hit the door behind him, leaving a black mark, a scent of burnt metal and plastic filling the air. Sonic looked at the door, then back at Shadow.
''Fine, have it your way!'' Sonic charged at Shadow, who dodged the latter's attack and, using his air shoes, matched Sonic in speed. The two became a pair of blue and orange and black blurs as they fought, eventually crashing into the hallway, where they were found by a bewildered Lucas.
Sonic didn't even have the time to acknowledge Lucas' presence, as Shadow rammed into him, causing him to almost smash into the wall. Sonic then charged at Shadow, who skated down the hallway to a more open area. Sonic could feel sparks of energy crackling through his body as he glared at Shadow. He knew that he could just ask Lucas to perform Chaos Surge and take down Shadow that way, but he decided to save it in case they had no other way of defeating the black hedgehog.
''Why are you doing this Shadow? Why are you trying to kill everyone?'' Sonic asked, his ears twitching as he heard Lucas running into the room. Lucas, who was right behind Sonic, stared at Shadow in pure shock after hearing Sonic's questions. What were the two talking about?
''Why should I tell you anything?'' Shadow replied, clenching his fists as he took a combat stance. He had set off the program that would overload the energy cores. Now, all he needed to do was to stall for time.
''Well, it looks like the world is ending and you're hellbent on killing me. If this were a movie, this would be the moment where the villain reveals their motives for what they're doing,'' Sonic replied.
''Wh-What?''
Sonic couldn't help but smirk at Shadow's bewildered look. Either the black hedgehog had never seen a movie, or he didn't believe himself to be the villain of this story. He then used this moment of distraction to run up to Shadow and clock him straight across the face, sending him flying. Shadow hit the ground hard, but managed to get up in a crouching position, rubbing his bruised cheek with the back of his hand and baring his fangs.
''Why do you hate everyone so much?'' Sonic continued, preparing himself for Shadow's retaliation. It came faster than he expected, with Shadow charging at him for a punch. Sonic dodged it, but ended up with a kick to his chest.
''Because this is what they deserve!'' Shadow growled, hitting Sonic's shoulder when the latter failed to dodge his attack. Sonic had no idea what had gotten into Shadow, but it looked like the black hedgehog had enough. ''You keep asking why…'' Sonic gasped as he hit the wall, moving his head just in time to avoid Shadow's next punch, which left a crack in it. He then looked back at the enraged black hedgehog, his crimson eyes glowing as he breathed heavily, ignoring the pain in his hand. ''Humans are nothing but selfish, greedy beings with no compassion for those who suffer. They keep experimenting with life callously, showing no remorse for their actions. Even senseless death won't stop them from their cruelty towards others.''
''I know that people can be cruel and selfish…'' Sonic said, using his super speed to get away from being pinned by Shadow against the wall and appear right behind him, ''...but that still doesn't give you the right to act like a genocidal maniac!''
Shadow charged at Sonic, with the latter managing to dodge his fist, only for Shadow to suddenly vanish and Sonic feel pain in his back. He flew, landing on the ground face-first, with Shadow then appearing before him. Sonic lifted his head, glaring at the black hedgehog, who returned an aloof gaze. Sonic was surprised that the latter didn't gloat, but the feeling of surprise was quickly replaced by a sense of curiosity.
''You haven't told me everything…'' He slowly got up, bruised. ''Am I right?''
Shadow didn't respond. He had to admit, Sonic was quite determined to get a direct answer out of him, even if it cost him his life, and he had to admire that resolve.
''Why do you insist on learning why I'm doing this? Why are you so persistent?'' Shadow finally asked, hoping that the blue hedgehog would finally shut up and focus on the fight.
''Because, I believe that you wouldn't be saying any of this if there wasn't some personal tragedy involved,'' Sonic replied.
Shadow stared at Sonic in stunned silence, wondering how the blue hedgehog came to that conclusion. Was he that easy to read? Does it even matter anymore?
''If you really insist…'' Shadow took a deep breath, carefully observing his opponent. They would all be gone soon, and the secret would die along with them. There was nothing they could do to stop the inevitable. Shadow's gaze wandered from Sonic to Lucas. ''I assume that this human is important to you.''
''Of course he is! Lucas is my best buddy,'' Sonic said, with Lucas smiling in response. He was worried about his partner, but he didn't interfere, hoping that Sonic would be to deal with this situation.
''I also had someone who was important to me, someone I was close to,'' Shadow continued, clenching his fists, feeling the rage growing inside him. ''However, she had been taken away from me. The humans who worked here were responsible for her death, and I had promised to myself that I would avenge her.'' Shadow's quiet tone grew louder, filled with raw hatred. ''They treated Touka like a guinea pig, never telling her why she had been here, and she payed with her life. We had both been trapped here for all of our lives, and all she wanted was to step outside this building, but that wish died with her.'' Shadow gritted his teeth, baring his fangs. He felt as if someone put a stone in his chest, as if someone grabbed him by the neck and was choking him. ''Those humans never cared for her! They just let her die, never bothering to even lift a finger to help her when she needed them!''
Sonic and Lucas exchanged glances of astonishment, which was quickly replaced by knowing looks. Despite his head still being a mess from the storm of emotions he felt, Shadow had to admit that he was a little surprised by their reaction. It seemed as if they knew something he didn't. Sonic then stepped up, trying to look serious, but the corner of his mouth twitched as a tiny grin formed on his lips.
''Shadow, you said that this person's name is Touka, right?'' Sonic asked. Shadow frowned, glaring at the blue hedgehog.
''Was,'' he responded.
''Uh, I don't know how to tell you this but… I think that someone had lied to you,'' Sonic continued.
''What are you talking about?'' Shadow asked, now feeling irritated.
''That's because Sonic and I know Touka, and the last time we saw her, which was the other day, she was alive,'' Lucas replied, hoping that they were all talking about the same person. Ferra had been telling them the truth so far and he hoped that the part with Touka was correct as well. ''As a matter of fact, we were told that she had entered this building and didn't come out. She may still be somewhere-''
''You're lying!'' Sonic and Lucas both almost jumped out of their skin when Shadow screamed at them. His crimson eyes were glowing, his fists clenched as he stared at them, completely enraged. His voice, normally calm and steady, was filled with raw fury. ''She is dead! I watched her die!'' Shadow continued, the fury in his voice fading into anguish. ''She is gone and nothing will bring her back!''
''Shadow…'' Sonic could see tears forming in the corners of Shadow's eyes, with black hedgehog finally giving into his grief. He felt pity for Shadow, for him losing the person he cared about the most, but at the same time, he knew that there was hope. ''Shadow, please, listen to me. Touka is still here, and she actually went searching for you-!''
''SHUT UP!''
Filled with rage, Shadow fired a bolt of energy at Sonic, but before the blue hedgehog could dodge it, cyan energy appeared around the bolt, directing it away from Sonic and into a nearby wall. Sonic, Lucas and Shadow heard steps behind them, with Silver and Makoto, followed by Warren, Tails, Lily, Knuckles, Minami and Amy emerging from the hallway.
''I hope we're not too late,'' Silver told Sonic, his palms lined with cyan energy. Sonic just shook his head in response.
''Ha, the cavalry always arrives in time,'' Knuckles commented, keeping an eye on Shadow. ''You're outnumbered, Black Hedgehog. Surrender now and we might spare you.''
Shadow didn't respond, instead observing the group of humans and Irregulars. He will not let them stop him in carrying out his last wish. He would make sure that humanity would perish at his hands.
''No,'' Shadow replied, his voice now calm and collected, chilling Sonic to the core when he heard him. He sounded focused, yet… empty. Sonic knew that Shadow had crossed the line of no return, that he felt that there was nothing he had to live for. There was only one thing that remained, and he was going to fight for it until the bitter end. Shadow focused on the blue hedgehog, as if reading his mind, his crimson eyes narrowing. ''This battle has just begun.''
[...]
Sonic and Shadow spin-dashed into each other, too fast for Knuckles and Silver to follow. While Knuckles could punch the living daylights out of Shadow and Silver could use his psychokinesis to prevent him from moving at all, there was one issue with this plan – they had to have a clear target so they didn't hit Sonic on accident.
''This is bad,'' Silver muttered as Sonic and Shadow charged once again at each other, both seemingly equal in power and speed. ''We won't be able to do much unless they slow down.''
''Stay alert, Grey Hedgehog,'' Knuckles told him, keeping an eye on Shadow. ''The moment we have the opportunity, we attack.''
Shadow suddenly teleported behind Sonic, but the latter anticipated this move, spin-dashing into the darker hedgehog. Shadow hit the wall behind, but managed to get up, forming an bolt of energy and firing it at Sonic. However, before it could hit his opponent, it stopped mid-air, surrounded by cyan energy once again.
''Thanks, Silv!'' Sonic replied, with Silver grinning, and dashed back at Shadow. The two suddenly started to grapple with each other, neither being able to push the other away. Sonic's eyes narrowed as he locked eyes with Shadow. ''You're making a grave mistake.''
''I don't care.'' Shadow attempted to punch Sonic, but the latter dodged the attack, stepping back, only for Knuckles to suddenly charge between them, punching Shadow square in the chest. The dark hedgehog stumbled back, having to admit that Knuckles' attack actually did quite some damage. Knuckles attempted to punch Shadow once again, but the latter used his air shoes to skate backwards, dodging every single punch.
''Stop moving!'' Knuckles yelled furiously, swing after swing missing due to Shadow's superior speed. Suddenly, Shadow teleported away, leaving Knuckles puzzled for a moment, then appearing right behind the echidna and firing an energy bolt at point-blank range.
''Knux!'' Sonic and Silver cried out in worry as the energy bolt took the echidna out. Still, despite being on the ground, Knuckles was trying to get up. He rammed his fists, spikes first, into the nearby wall in an attempt to lift himself up, but Shadow suddenly spin-dashed into him. Or at least, he would've done so if his entire body hadn't been paralyzed by a cyan aura. He forced his head to move, realizing that it was Silver who kept him from attacking.
''The battle's over,'' Silver told him, his palms lined with cyan energy. Sonic and Knuckles had joined him, both badly bruised and a little out of breath, but otherwise fine. Shadow tried to move, but Silver's kept him in place. Shadow knew that, if he wanted to continue this fight, he would have to take the grey hedgehog out first.
[...]
Silver hovered Shadow a bit closer to him, Sonic and Knuckles, still making sure that there was a reasonable distance between them in case Shadow tried something. There was no way that he would let the darker hedgehog escape.
''Give up Shadow,'' Sonic said. ''As Silver said, it's over.''
''You were a powerful opponent, but even the toughest of warriors know when it is time to surrender,'' Knuckles added.
Shadow remained silent, observing the three. He tried to move, but Silver was holding him tight in place. Still, despite that, he wasn't down for the count yet. He hadn't battled Knuckles and Silver before, so he didn't know what they were capable of, resulting in underestimating the two. He lowered his head.
''I refuse. I will never give up,'' he said, tapping into his energy reserves, hoping that his plan would work. ''Chaos Control!''
Much to Sonic, Knuckles and, especially, Silver's shock, Shadow teleported out of the cyan aura that kept him in place. He then appeared before the three, an energy bolt forming in his hands. ''Chaos Spear!''
Fortunately, Silver managed to raise a cyan barrier to block the attack. ''Take this!'' Silver then pushed the cyan barrier at Shadow in an attempt to pin him against the wall. However, Shadow used his air skates to push back against the cyan barrier, refusing to let the grey hedgehog return him to an immobile state once again. Unfortunately for him, Silver's psychokinesis was more powerful.
''Knux, fastball special, now!'' Sonic turned to Knuckles, who nodded. He then curled into a ball and Knuckles grabbed him, hurling him straight into Shadow, with Silver lifting the barrier away in the last second.
Sonic spin-dashed into Shadow, finally knocking the black hedgehog off his feet. However, despite being on the ground, Shadow was still trying to get up, showing baffling persistence. Sonic knew that they were running out of time and that there was nothing that there would convince Shadow to stop this explosion from happening. He was too consumed by grief and rage to listen to anyone, to the point that Sonic had to wonder whether Shadow was even concerned with his own survival.
Shadow had finally managed to get up, stepping towards them. He was breathing heavily, his expression showing nothing but pure fury. Sonic stepped back, joining Knuckles and Silver as they anticipated Shadow's next move, only to be stunned when Shadow's body suddenly started to glow, a red aura surrounding him as he charged up energy. The red aura formed a sphere around Shadow as he crossed his arms, hovering in the air for a brief moment, only to unfold them, releasing a massive wave of energy.
''Chaos Blast!''
The energy blast resulted in a massive explosion, blowing up the entire area and taking Sonic, Knuckles and Silver down. Shadow landed on the ground, winded from the attack that had been fueled by his anger, hatred and pain. He still felt the adrenaline rushing through his body as he approached Sonic, standing right in front of the fallen blue hedgehog.
''I told you, I refuse to give up, Hedgehog'' he said.
''Wh-Why don't you leave?'' Sonic asked, trying to lift his head, locking eyes with Shadow. ''Y-You'll die a-as well…''
This question left Shadow stunned momentarily. As much as he had to admire Sonic's tenacity and ability to keep up with him, he couldn't understand why he was determined to talk to him, to learn more about him. Why was Sonic showing so much concern regarding his emotional and mental state? They were enemies, nothing more and nothing less. Shadow had already shown that he didn't care for him or any of his friends and was willing to kill all of them in order to fulfill his own goals.
''Do you really have nothing to live for?'' Sonic asked as he got up, pressing his hand against his shoulder and looking unsafe on his feet. Despite the beating he took, he was still smiling, baffling Shadow. How could Sonic still be willing to talk to him like this? Sonic then sighed, shaking his head. ''I guess that is what makes you so dangerous. You believe that you have nothing left to lose.''
''I agree, I have nothing left to lose,'' Shadow said, well aware that there is nothing Sonic could do. What he didn't expect was for Sonic to suddenly sucker punch him, causing him to stumble back. Shadow was shocked, rubbing his bruised cheek.
''Well, I disagree!'' Sonic told him firmly, with Knuckles and Silver standing up behind him, both still willing to continue the fight. ''Even if that's that path you have chosen, I won't give up. I will continue to fight for my friends, for Neos City, and for you as well. You might believe that I'm lying, but there is someone waiting for you.''
Knuckles and Silver stared at Sonic. While they may not have had access to the full story behind this fight, as everything happened to fast and not much had been explained, they still trusted Sonic with whatever plan he had. However, before either of them could even continue with the battle, Lucas' team suddenly ran into the area, followed by a cry that shook Shadow to his very core.
''Shadow, please, stop this!''
Shadow stared in shock at the very person he believed to be dead for so long. His crimson eyes were wide and his body was paralyzed, his heart racing as a storm of emotions hit him with full force. ''N-No… It can't be… This- This isn't possible…''
It felt like a dream. The person he cared about the most, the one he fought for and the one who wanted to avenge was standing right in front of him, alive and well.
[...]
''I don't think you should sacrifice your own life either.'' Shadow turned around, surprised to see Sonic behind him. Silver was also there, just standing awkwardly with the energy cores floating around him. ''I told you before, you still have something to live for.''
''I don't disagree with you,'' Shadow said in a regretful tone, with Sonic tilting his head, his arms folded across his chest. ''However, there is no other option.''
''What about using Chaos Surge? You are an Irregular and you can manipulate BioEnergy,'' Sonic suggested, ignoring Shadow's furious glare. ''From what I understood, all you need is a power boost, or am I wrong?''
''I refuse to use BioEnergy for this,'' Shadow responded angrily.
''Why?'' Silver asked, picking the energy core out of the panel once Touka was done disconnecting it. ''Sure, it is risky, but we could show you how to use it properly.''
''I'm also fully willing to go along with this plan,'' Touka added. Shadow clenched his fists, shaking. He knew that the three were right, that there would be a chance for him to make it out alive if he absorbed Touka's BioEnergy. However, the moment they suggested it, his mind flashed back to his battle with the rogue Irregular, the memory of Touka dying resurfacing. He had hoped that this memory would perish when he too perished, but he now understood that he couldn't keep it no longer a secret.
''I was the reason why you almost lost your life,'' Shadow said, surprising everyone. ''I was a complete fool, having resorted to use your BioEnergy in the fight against that Irregular, and when it was over, I was told you were dead.'' He shook his head, his voice shaking. ''I'm not going to repeat the same mistake again!''
''Shadow…'' Touka muttered, feeling sorry for him. Despite all of his hatred towards the humans that betrayed him, he still blamed himself for what had happened to her. She exchanged quiet glances with Sonic and Silver, the latter leaving to quickly pick up the remaining energy cores after Lucas waved him over. She clenched her fists, a determined look forming on her expression. ''I know you won't repeat your mistake, and that is why I want us to try out Chaos Surge.''
''What?'' Shadow was stunned, while Sonic just grinned.
''If Lucas and Sonic could do it without suffering the any of the harsher consequences, then I'm sure we can do it too,'' Touka added.
''Now that's the spirit!'' Sonic cheered, while Shadow gave both of them a dubious look.
[...]
''Stack them up in the middle,'' he said, pointing at the ground. Silver did as he was told and, after giving them one last gaze, he quickly followed the rest of the group. Lucas and Sonic turned to Touka and Shadow, with Sonic crackling his knuckles.
''Okay, ready to learn how to use Chaos Surge?'' Sonic asked. Shadow nodded, being ready to finally confront his fears and the pain that came with it. He looked at Touka, giving her a look of pure determination.
''I will hold on to our promise,'' he said, with Touka smiling, happy to see him overcome his doubts. The two then looked at Sonic and Lucas.
''All that you have to do is activate the BioEnergy. Once it is active, don't absorb it, but let it float. You both need to feel it,'' Sonic explained.
''Once you do, then you both need to absorb it. Don't be afraid of going for it and stay focused,'' Lucas continued, him and Sonic stretching out their arms, blue energy crackling between them. Both could feel the BioEnergy transforming into something far more powerful.
''Chaos Surge!''
Touka and Shadow watched the two as they absorbed the energy, leading the two to become enveloped in a blue aura, with electricity sparking around them, both Lucas and Sonic giving the two a confident look. Touka then looked at Shadow, extending her hand, with Shadow grabbing it without any hesitance. He could sense her BioEnergy, calling for him to absorb it, to become stronger. However, he rejected this power. It wasn't just for him, but for both of them.
''Chaos Surge!''
A bright dark red and orange orb of energy appeared between the two, sparks of electricity enveloping them as they both absorbed it, now empowered. Shadow's eyes were now glowing in an orange and red colour as he and Touka turned towards the energy cores, which were now burning in a hot red.
''Ready?'' Touka asked as she stepped on one side of the energy cores, extending her hands before them as she felt the Chaos energy surging through her body.
''I am,'' Shadow mirrored her actions, focusing on the Chaos energy inside his body. It was far stronger than anything else he had experience and he was going to use every drop of it to save this world.
Both of their eyes glowed red as they were enveloped by a blue field of energy, determined to carry out this mission to the bitter end.
''CHAOS CONTROL!''
[...]
Shadow looked hesitant for a moment, but then did as Tails instructed him, placing the goggles on his forehead and carefully placing the band between his quills. Touka placed her hands on her back, bowing over slightly as she grinned.
''The goggles look really great on you,'' she said, with Shadow smiling in response. His smile then quickly faded into a frown when he saw Sonic run up to them, grinning.
''You know, you may not want to be friends with us, but that still doesn't mean that we can't hang out,'' Sonic said. ''Despite all the craziness and battles, we did have some fun, didn't we?''
''While I appreciate your help, Blue Hedgehog, I'm not interested in being in your company longer than necessary,'' Shadow responded, turning around. ''This is a farewell.''
He and Touka then walked away, only for Shadow to suddenly flinch, feeling exasperated when he heard Sonic's response.
''See ya later, Shad!'' Sonic yelled for everyone to hear, waving Shadow and Touka goodbye. The two didn't respond, despite their obvious reaction, vanishing into the forest. Sonic smirked in satisfaction, glancing at Tails as he placed a hand on his hip. ''The two will come around eventually.''
Tails laughed, ''I had figured you wouldn't give up on them.''
''I believe that all they need is a simple nudge in the right direction. Shadow isn't a bad guy and I'm looking forward to running into him again,'' Sonic responded, with the rest of the group approaching them. ''Now, com'n, let's go home!''

Aries no Otometachi vol. 1 pages 60-90
starting back up where we last left off in episode 2. the next day after that whole incident emiko shows up to school early to watch takashi practice at the equestrian club, but out of the corner of her eye she sees romi as she rides past
emiko *thinking*: [romi. i can't call out to her, i can't hear her tell me "how's your injury?" it's like the girl who took me home yesterday is a complete stranger today. ... it's, it's strange right. it's almost as if... i'm in love with her. even though she's a woman and the person i should be in love with is takashi...]
during class that day romi gets up and leaves out of boredom and has a leisurely chat with one of the other teachers, oomuro. emiko is distressed by the situation but can't quite pin down *why*.
emiko *thinking*: [takashi and oomura, with romi between them... i feel a jealousy burning up inside me, but for who? am i jealous of takashi? of oomuro?]
romi finally spots emiko hiding behind a corner and asks her how her injury is healing and emiko is overjoyed as her jealous hatred is swept away by her developing love of romi.
emiko: [it's um, almost all healed]
romi: [good to hear, it'd be a shame to scar such pretty skin]
emiko *thinking*: [pretty skin... more than hearing takashi speak, just seeing romi's smile makes me so happy. i-i i love her. i love her more than takashi, she's my only romeo! her lilting voice, her elegant gestures, her silky black hair, her graceful features, the glimmer in her eye... when i look at her my heart starts pounding and my cheeks flush. is this beating of my chest the sound of... love? it's love!]
continued: [love ...even though we're both women?] <- woahhh she said the line everyone
later down the line, romi has made some enemies in the equestrian club with her confident attitude and insistence that she will only ride her beloved elektra and is challenged to a race by another member
girl: [we'll race around the course twice, if you win i'll quit lecturing you, but if you lose you'll have to behave like a proper freshman]
romi *thinking*: [...how foolish...]
romi easily outclasses her opponent in speed and before the first lap is over her opponent gets bucked off of her horse while trying to catch up. however, romi insists on finishing the race and nearly tramples the girl on her second lap around the course, even though she had already won
and this behavior gets her a big slap across the face for this from takashi
takashi: [how dare you! apologize to her immediately!]
emiko is hurt by this conflict between takeshi and romi, but as she's talking with him she glances over at romi and oomura together.
takeshi: [that expression, it almost looks as if you're in love with mizuho...]
after he says this emiko tearfully approaches romi
emiko: [are you in love with oomura...?]
romi: [huh, what do you mean?]
emiko: [please, please don't fall in love with him!... you can't]
emiko: [oomura sensei already has kurusu sensei. and don't fall in love with yuusa either, he's no good. no matter how much he likes you please never love him back because i- i love you!]
romi *thinking*: [i wonder if i will ever fall in love myself, and leap into another's arms, i'm almost jealous of this girl... she's adorable like this...]
how's that for a cliffhanger

Surviving the horrors, or better yet, the horrors surviving me
Gn!Reader
Tw:
Pairing: Doom x reader
Genre: hurt with comfort, I guess
Tags: @futuristiclanddinosaur
Synopsis: Young Doom meets young reader after they escaped the drunk policeman, but got lost in the woods.
Author's note: I had another trope in mind at first, but I hate HATE that trope, so I had to change it a bit. Idk if this is actually what you wanted, but I tried my best. If you want to be added to the tag list, please comment (if you have default profile, please change it, it'll help me know that you're not a bot). Sorry for any mistakes, this is not proofread and English is not my first language. Hope you enjoy!
---------------------------------------------------------
Run. You have to run or else you won't see another day. Still hearing the voice of the policeman behind you, you only fastened your speed as you run through the woods. Is this what you get for just bumping into a drunk policeman? Then you definitely don't want to bump into a sober policeman! As you run, it felt like you were in a trance, moving by pure instinct. Despite being so young and suffered so much already, and only eating bits of bread for the last three days, you still pushed through every challenge. All your family had already died back when you still were in your home country, but it didn't stop you from moving to another country, "The Magic Realm", to try out your luck in survival. Being out of breath, you gradually slow down until fully stopping. That is when you don't hear anyone running after you nor spying on you. You held onto the square core of the necklace that laid on your collarbone, it being one of the only things that remained from your family and that saved your life almost every day. The other three cores, with the same shape, but different design, were buried in your skin, just above the heart's location. These cores could also be named hearts, since they're vital for your survival and death.
You started looking around when your breath steadied. The woods looked the same. That's when you realized that you're lost. Looking one last time behind you to check that one was going after you, you gulped and proceeded to start walking onwards. It's not like you got much choices, anyway; and you're rather be killed by a bear or a wolf than by a man. After some time, you feel a presence just a few meters onwards. This presence was rather calm and you didn't have any idea who this might be nor if they were hostile or not. You quietly approached the presence, trying to make as little sound as you could; it's either your best shot at surviving or the action that'll take you to your grave. Nonetheless, you hide behind a tree and saw a boy around your age with unusual glasses on. He was cleaning a rather big, and as you supposed, heavy sword; it really looked like an amazing sword. Suddenly, he moved his head up slightly, making you hide behind the tree more.
- "Whoever that is there, come out." - You heard his calm yet demanding voice. Realizing that he somehow already spotted you, you come out of your hiding spot. When he hears your steps he turns his head towards you, having a calm yet cold expression. The wind blew and you felt it clearly, as you only had a broken T-shirt, broken pair of pants, some wore out shoes and a slightly broken medieval cape. - "Who are you? And what are you doing here?" - He spoke again, making you shiver under the weight of his words. Hesitant, you answered with a broken accent, having learnt the language of this country only by a dictionary that was thrown away when you still were in your home country.
- "I... I am [Y/N] [L/N]... I'm sorry for disturbing you, I was only trying to find another exit out of here... I'm very sorry for making you waste your time..." - You stuttered from the nervousness and fear. After all, your live is at line. The boy didn't seem to budge at all, as if he didn't care.
- "Why don't you use the main exit? Better question even, how did you get in?" - You could feel how wary the boy was just by the tone of his voice. Thought, there was nothing to fear for him. He looked to be in a good physical condition, so it won't take him much time or effort to just kill you there and then. You really didn't know how exactly to answer him. Sure, you had the answers, but would he believe you? That's another story. You decided to answer him, as there was no other better choice to do.
- "Some drunk policeman followed me from the city to here just because I bumped into him... He wouldn't take my apology and was very... Irritated at me. As for how I entered... I just did... I don't know if there was supposed to be a barrier, but I had no difficulty running here..." - You fidget with your fingers as you answered him, while stuttering because you couldn't find the right words in the language. He seemed to analyze your words and after that, he sighted.
- "I'll take you to the exit. Don't like picking on the weak. Just don't tell anyone that you saw me. Got it?" - He said as he got up.
- "Okay... Okay." - You muttered as he started walking, you following him behind.

[fic] The Captain Does Not Go Down with the Ship
The Captain Does Not Go Down with the Ship
Ikemen Sengoku | Mouri Motonari x Reader | T | 500 words ao3 link (later)
You try your best to stop the Imperial Army from capturing your captain.
A/N: My last entry for @cy-inky's one week challenge! I started with a boom and I'm ending it with a bang! I used two prompts! "Let me guess ... you caused it?" and "Are you an idiot? I am not leaving you here." And it's an action-packed space opera AU! :D Admittedly my star wars and star trek knowledge are poor and shallow, and I did minimal research for this fic, but I hope that it's passable enough lol. I had fun writing this one, and I have to thank Inky for the event 💖 because I've never written so many words in such a short period of time. I was consistently inspired! That's so rare! 🥹
Divider by @/saradika. Hope you enjoy my final entry piece! 🫶
“Let me guess!” Motonari's yell pierces through your ears, amidst the din of blaster shots and sirens and stomps of the crew and the enemies. “You caused it?”
You're tailing your captain, twisting your way through the narrow path that leads to the escape pods. Once or twice, an automatic door opens to reveal a trooper ready to fire, but you're quicker than them. Times like these you're thankful for your agility and speed.
“I'm sorry—it's the only thing I could think of!”
When an imperial ship appeared crying for your captain’s head and sent an army of troopers to collect it, marching their way into the bridge, you tried to stop them by blowing up the main passageway—a move that only delayed them. But that's enough to get the crew going—Motonari shouting orders to engage and eliminate soldiers as many as they can.
“We gotta get you out of here, Captain!” You herded Motonari to a narrower corridor that led to the escape pods.
“D'ya think I'd leave my men alone while I run away like a coward?”
“That's not it at all! That's not—”
And that's when the imperial ship fired.
A trooper jumps out of their hiding, armed with a blaster rifle. And Motonari, raging at the currently disarrayed state of his ship and crew, increases his pace and meets the weapon head on with his electro-sword.
“Captain!” You catch up and try to knock the trooper out but another appears to your right, wielding a knife that almost slices your arm.
“Don't ya ever think of dyin'!” Motonari yells, and he kicks the trooper down to stab them, piercing the dark blue armor. Lightning sparks across his blade, and the trooper is summarily electrocuted.
“I won't!” Another slash—and you crouch down to glide your feet into a sweep, knocking your opponent down, and smash their helmet with a forceful fist.
You glance at Motonari for a cursory check: no injuries—good. “Let's go, Captain!”
When you reach the pod area, Hiroyoshi is already there. “I've already instructed the others to escape. This is the only one left—hurry!”
And as you and Motonari race over where Hiroyoshi waits, a voice cuts through the noise, freezing you both.
“How humiliating it is to see Pirate-Captain Motonari Mouri abandoning his beloved ship.”
Behind them, several meters away, is the silhouette of Imperial General Kicho.
Motonari vibrates with fury, grits his teeth. Kicho's hand lifts, and a gun points at his head.
There's no time to think: Motonari stands closer to Hiroyoshi, so you push him in that direction, screaming, “Hiroyoshi—take care of the captain!” and then face Kicho again, all your cells ablaze.
You can hear Motonari's shouting—“Are you an idiot?! I'm not leavin' ya here!”—his voice strained by Hiroyoshi's persistence. You ignore it, and instead take a step closer to Kicho, blaster at the ready.
A twitch of his eyebrow is your only warning before he pulls the trigger.
