S3 Predictions gonna go group by group then overall potential plotlines at the end. some are going to contradict probably *minor spoilers??*

They'll either kill Hyun-ju (120) straight away for being a part of the revolt or I think Dae-ho (388) will sacrifice himself for her. I think we'll hear a lot more of his backstory about having an abusive home life with his dad calling him a coward and weak so after he didn't go back with the ammo that trauma resurfaced and he now feels guilty and blames himself partially for the loss of Jung-bae. So him sacrificing himself for her serves as an apology aswell as proving his dad wrong.

From an interview, Geum-ja (149) said their shooting was quicker than everyone else's so I think that's a pretty clear sign that they're not going to last too long. They'll probably be killed off within the first two episodes. I do believe Geum-ja (149) will die first after helping Jun-hee (222) deliver her baby. As shown in the gifs I chose she also tends to be the one pulling her loved ones back to safety so with her gone I think Yong-sik (007) will try to step up and maybe kills a couple from Player 100s gang? but quickly dies after that. I also think there's a chance he accidentally kills his mum and can't bear it so kills himself. I definitely think he's going to kill at least one or two people just because 007 is too much of a coincidental number.

im actually really rooting for these two to get back together. So these two's walls are definitely coming down with each other, especially with how they checked on each other with the revolt recruitment. look at them! So I think they'll have a conversation which will bring Myung-gi (333) into the alliance with Jun-hee (222), Dae-ho (388), Geum-ja (149), Yong-sik (007) and Hyun-ju (120). Jun-hee (222) will go into labour in the middle of the first game which Geum-ja (149) will help deliver but there's complications so they both lose the game. idk what'll happen to the baby, I'd assume the guards take it and In-ho makes Gi-hun look after it so he can be snarky like "see, is taking care of a child that hard?" then Gi-huns like "You tell me."

Nam-gyu (124) uses one of the pills to spike Jun-hee (222) leading to her labour complications and death Nam-gyu (124) tries to get revenge for forkgate and attacks Myung-gi (333) but Min-su (125) steps in and saves him. Nam-gyu (124) continues to poke the bear mocking Myung-gi (333) needing to be saved by Min-su and tells him about spiking Jun-hee (222). He goes batshit at this and kills Nam-gyu (124)

No-eul (Soldier 011) saves Gyeong-seok (246) using the organ harvesting shute, but they get caught so she has to kill the soldier that finds them, taking their jumpsuit and disguising Gyeong-seok (246). I think she'll get caught and placed in the incinerator, foreshadowed by her burning the kid's drawing before going in. Gyeong-seok (246) somehow survives though (maybe joining forces with Jun-ho when he actually manages to achieve something) and is part of the final showdown as a soldier in the finale. I think his daughter will suffer the same fate as Gi-huns' mum and In-hos' wife and die before he can get back to her.

So these two have to figure out the captain is the leak at this point. But somehow they still find the island by getting rid of him and mapping out where he avoided taking them, or seeing the vips and sneaking in with them? I'll come back to Jun-ho in a bit

okay now for the biggies

so this is totally wishful thinking bc i adore the recruiter and just want to see more of him. I'm hoping that there's a flashback to when In-ho was a player in 2015 with the recruiter as a triangle soldier. I'm thinking that whilst watching In-ho as a player the recruiter admired his gameplay meaning he had to shoot his dad in second place. Possibly rock, paper, scissors Russian roulette?

So now In-ho (001/frontman/Young-il/identity crisis final boss) has lost his faith in humanity again, there's two ways I'm predicting. He either doesn't take Gi-hun (456) back to the games and instead makes him watch with the other VIPs (the vips don't recognise him any more than when we recognise contestants returning to an "all star" reality show) If they send him back to the games (I'm more than doubting they will), they might make the game harder and make him responsible for more deaths (Battleships, chess, trolley problem-style game). They may also remove the option to vote to leave. He offers Gi-hun one final game as the Frontman. They have to bet on one player each to win, and if they lose, they die. If there are three or more players at the end, then at least one of them will die, but there's the potential for both of them to. He keeps up appearances as not being Young-il up until the boat crew + Gyeong-seok (246) arrive Jun-ho & Co. finally turn up and reveal that he knew the whole time who the front man was. This causes conflict between all three of them, I truly hope that Gi-hun bursts out in laughter and then turns angry the same way he did when Jung-bae was trying to get "the old Gi-hun" back. I think both Gi-hun and In-ho will die. In-ho being killed by Jun-ho as foreshadowed by the recruiter saying he shot his own dad.

OK SO. this made me realize that most people genuinely don't know about the murder dungeon allegations.

To summ it up, he lured in people to rob his house, put them in The Murder Dungeon (actually a tower, but... rule of funny. it sounds funnier that way), and Bontarian government did NOTHING about for years, and even placed a statue in his honor despite that.

Beatrice was having fun, honestly knowing she wouldn’t be able to work for a few months this was more than welcome.

She was also enjoying the snacks, what were they? She brings one close to her eyes while she chews the very same thing, Nicole looking up at her in question, “...I think…this has pepperoni, hmmm,it’s so good.” she is sitting in the shade, right next to Evelyn’s seat but she’s busy talking to her relatives right now.

Nicole tries to reach for her mother’s hand, trying to snag a bite “Okay, here,” she shoves her finger inside before pulling out a piece of cheese, small enough for Nicole to chew on it. She’s careful while doing so, but Nicole has proven she’s a Schiavoni because she adores cheese, “Nice,right? Hold on,Shells- oh.” the blonde comes back with a cheese platter, holding it up to Beatrice’s face “Thank you.”

“Don’t mention it.” and she shoves another snack into her mouth, ‘Hm, this is so good. Evelyn is great with party foods.” she sits down next to Beatrice and Nicole, flicking her eyes when she sees the phone resting on Beatrice’s thigh, “You talked to Rooster?’

“I sent him a message, since we know that Ev will have a boy,I thought he’d like to know about that.” she smiles, “And because Hangman wouldn’t shut up about it, so.”

“Of course.” Shells mutters as she chews “Fuckin’ weird.”

“What?”

The blonde shrugs while crossing her legs by the knee, “I don’t know, you two are with kids, married - well, Ev will get married when Jake comes back,I think…and I don’t know, it feels like a lot more time passed than just four years.” she chuckles, “I mean, the second you and Rooster met, it was like this whole spiral of new shit came along too, not that I’m complaining,after all I got Bob. But…you know, it started with the two of you.”

Beatrice smiles, nodding in agreement. "You're right, it does feel like a lot has happened in such a short amount of time. Meeting Rooster definitely brought a whirlwind of change into my life, and I never expected to end up where I am now. But I wouldn't trade it for anything."

She takes a moment to reflect on their journey, her eyes softening with fondness. "From that first encounter in the bar…everything just fell into place. It was meant to be." Shels clears her throat quiet loudly, arching her brows so the brunette continues, “...and yes, you helped, a lot.”

“Thank you.I sure did. Because if I didn’t make you move, you’d both die pining one another.” she shakes her head as she leans back on her seat, “And hey, I just gave the first push, you did everything else and hooked him in.”

Beatrice  rolled her eyes but she was grateful for Shells' bluntness. "You did give us that push, and I'll always be thankful for that.” ‘you are welcome’ Shells says, dipping her head forward “Sometimes, all it takes is a little nudge to set things in motion."

Nicole, who has been quietly snacking on another piece of cheese, looks up at Shells and Beatrice with an innocent expression. "Mama dada?” she questions as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, making Beatrice smile and kiss her temple.

“Yes,mama and dada.”

“That kid is going to be a menace when she’s older.”

“Hey,’ Bea narrows her eyes playfully, “It’s my daughter, excuse me?”

“She’s already talking, she's going to learn how to get your car keys at eleven. Just you wait.”

Beatrice blinked, staring at Shells as the party continued around them, “...did you steal a car at eleven?” Shells doesn’t reply, but she does drink her non-alcoholic punch while looking away. Honestly there were things in Shells’ life that Beatrice decides it’d be better to wonder than to think about. As she was about to question her again, she saw Evelyn approaching with a glass of water in her hand, “Hey, are you done socializing?”

“For now.” she sighs, flopping in the seat that’s between the two women, leaning back and kicking her shoes off, ‘Jesus, I can’t remember who was the last person I talked to. And they are all family.”

 "Well, it's a big family gathering, Ev. It's hard to keep track of everyone. But hey, at least you got a break from the relatives for a moment. I know how bad it was when they found out about Nikki.”

“Aa!”

Evelyn takes a long sip of her water and lets out a content sigh. "True, true. As much as I love them, it can be a bit overwhelming at times.” she looks over to where her uncle Tom was, currently trying to show her younger cousins - and Jake’s young relatives- how to throw a baseball over the fence, “Mom!Uncle Tom has a baseball!” 

Vivian’s smile drops, “He what-THOMAS! WHERE DID YOU GET THAT!”

The three of them just watch as Evelyn’s mother walks over to her brother and yanks it out of his hand, “...where did he get that anyway?” Bea asks quietly, “Did he bring it with him?”

“Most likely.” Evelyn mutters, “His favorite story is how he almost went to the big leagues but he chose to get married instead. Which my aunt say never happened. He is a lawyer through and through. Runs in the family.” she explains, “On my mom’s side at least…anyway are you okay?”

Beatrice looks up from Nicole to meet Evelyn’s brown eyes “Me?” her friend nods while still drinking water, “I’m okay! Why are you asking?”

“Because while we are both pregnant you are the one carrying two and a baby.” she smiles down at Nicole who just babbles something in reply, “You need anything? A better chair? Something comfier?”

“Oh,no,no,I’m fine.” Beatrice smiles, “Honestly I’m okay. This party is really helping me get my mind at ease, Rooster’s deployment has been a bit hard lately but…you know,” she plays with Nicole’s hand for a few seconds as her daughter enjoys her tiny piece of cheese before she looks ahead, ‘It’s manageable. I just want him to come back safe and it’s been only a few weeks apart?” she didn’t want to explain how anxious she was feeling even before the deployment, they didn’t need to worry about her like that.

Evelyn reaches out and places a comforting hand on Beatrice's arm, patting it twice. "I understand, Bea. Deployments are always tough,and honestly I’ve been feeling kinda iffy about Jake too." she mutters, ‘Mainly because he’s not here to know that the baby pumpkin will be a boy…well, as long as they decide to be, but I wish he was here.”

“How have you been handling it?”

Evelyn’s laugh is dry and a bit humorless, “Well…you know, this really helped. I was angry about changing the dates but I think it was better if I did this.” she smiles at a few family members, especially from Jake’s side, before letting her smile drop, “I do think we’ve been going good. Even my dad is helping.” she waves at her father, who smiles and waves back, before turning his attention to his brothers-in-law, “I know he’s been trying to…be more present. He’s going to be a grandpa now…speaking of which, how did your family react when you told them about the twins?”

“Yeah!” Shells says, “You never told us!”

Beatrice inhales softly, her mouth parting as she’s violently reminded of that day. She wanted to wait until her father was out of the hospital, and her siblings were all at home with them…she did fear making her father feel worse but it wasn’t that bad.

Well…

“...my mom fainted.” she mutters, ‘Um…Sabrina fainted,Leonardo fainted.” she frowns a bit, chewing her lower lip “But e-everyone else took really nicely and um, once my mom recovered she cried. A lot. A whole lot, oh wow she cried even more than in my wedding! Hah…um…” she does think it was a lot more dramatic than what she was telling her friends, but she was too traumatized to say it outloud.

Evelyn's eyes widen in surprise as Beatrice recounts her family's reaction. "Wow, that sounds intense. I mean, I knew having twins would be a big deal, but fainting and crying? That's... quite the response."

Shells leans forward, her curiosity piqued. "What about your dad? How did he take the news?"

Beatrice's expression softens as she thinks about her father's reaction. "Well, my dad wasn’t in the hospital at the time, which made it a lot easier. When I told him about the twins, his eyes filled with tears, and he just hugged me tightly. He kept saying how happy he was. It was such a beautiful moment… and my mom cried again. She cried um…a lot."

Evelyn smiles warmly, holding her head up with a hand and propping her elbow on her knee. "I met your mom, she's just really emotional when it comes to these things. And I’m glad your dad was happy too…and your siblings?"

“Oh they are all the same. Except Michael,I think he knew from the spot.” she shrugged, leaning back on her seat and holding Nicole on her chest, being mindful of her growing bump, “It was…nice? They are checking on me too,and I forgot to tell Roos about it damn.”

“Dam!”

“W-no! Nikki that’s a bad word!” Beatrice’s panicked stare was only broken when her daughter covered her mouth to giggle, “Oh god,I can’t even imagine once she starts repeating Rooster’s words.” she sighs, looking down at her diaper “I need to change her,” she’s already standing up and stares at Evelyn because she has no idea where the bathroom is at her parents’ house, “Ev, can you um–”

“No worries.” her friend stands up with a grunt, squinting her eyes while setting her empty glass aside, “Follow me.”

Evelyn leads the way, guiding Beatrice through the bustling party towards the bathroom. It does take a while to get there since some of the party goers now paid attention to Beatrice and Nicole. Nikki, of course, loved the attention and just cooed and gurgled at everyone who smiled at her. Luckily it doesn’t take long for them to leave the commotion, with  Beatrice following closely behind, cradling Nicole in her arms and grateful for Evelyn's assistance.

As they walk, Evelyn looks over her shoulder and smiles reassuringly at Beatrice. "Does she need anything?"

Beatrice returns the smile, feeling a sense of relief wash over her, shaking her head. "Thank you, Ev.But no, I got everything in here." she lifts the shoulder that holds the bag strap, “I just need a clean space to do it.”

Evelyn reaches the bathroom door and holds it open for Beatrice. "Alright,I might stay here…I kinda need a break for everyone else if that’s okay?"

Beatrice nods understandingly. "Of course, Ev. Take all the time you need.It won’t be a bother."

Evelyn smiles gratefully and steps aside, letting Beatrice enter the bathroom with Nicole in her arms. "Thanks, Bea. I'll be right outside if you need anything. Just give me a shout."

With that, Evelyn closes the door behind Beatrice, leaving her to tend to Nicole in privacy. Beatrice finds a clean, spacious area to lay down a changing mat and gently places Nicole on it. She takes a moment to take a deep breath, appreciating the quietness of the bathroom compared to the lively party outside. Not that she’s complaining, I mean, she could handle her own family, but with her mind going so fast it was better to focus.

As she carefully removes Nicole's diaper and begins the process of changing her, Beatrice reflects on the events of the day. It's been a good day so far, she talked to Rooster and now she’s enjoying a party! It could be much worse.

Nicole babbles happily, seemingly unaware of the commotion happening beyond the bathroom door. Beatrice smiles at her daughter, taking her time, ensuring that Nicole is clean and comfortable before carefully securing a fresh diaper in place. Nicole babbles some more, kicking her little legs so much Beatrice has to hold one of them, “Nikki, just let me fix your skirt at least.”

Rebellion.

Nicole just moved her legs even more,giggling and loving how her mother’s face went from calm to exasperatedly amused until she couldn’t help but laugh, “You, are terrible.” and she tickles the baby’s tummy, “You are just like your father. You two have a way to making me laugh and forget every bad thing that goes on in my brain.” she whispers, knowing Evelyn was right outside.

Beatrice’s smile drops and she sighs, the anxiety was still there, gnawing at her spine, whispering things she didn’t want to hear nor think about. “It’s fine. It’s all fine.” she whispers, closing her eyes and clenching her jaw, quickly meeting her reflection and smiling - the best she could- “It’s all good. I talked to him today so it’s fine…anyway.”

Beatrice scoops Nicole up into her arms, cradling her close, burying her nose in her daughter’s hair and closing her eyes again, “It’s fine.” she bounces on the spot a bit, trying to get rid of the nerves, “God,it’s fine. Why am I like this?”. She pulls back and takes a moment to admire her daughter's tiny features, feeling a surge of love and protectiveness wash over her. "You're such a precious little girl, Nicole.” her daughter blinks up at her, “Yes you are.” she feels the sting of tears but holds it back the best way that she can.

As Beatrice holds Nicole in her arms, she finds solace in the unconditional love that emanates from her daughter. Nicole's innocent gaze and infectious smile bring a sense of joy and peace to Beatrice's heart, even in moments of doubt and anxiety. 

Like right now.

Gently swaying back and forth, Beatrice takes a deep breath, willing herself to find calm amidst the storm of emotions. She reminds herself that she has a support system in place, both with Rooster and her friends like Evelyn and Shells, who are there for her during this challenging time. “Oh boy, okay.” she turns on her heel to walk out of the bathroom, once she feels she’s okay enough and meets Evelyn there.

Her friend was leaning against the wall, this time with her arms crossed and eyes distant, “Um,Ev?” she snaps the tall woman out of her thoughts because she physically jumped, “Sorry,I uh,we’re finished.”

Evelyn blinks, momentarily caught off guard by Beatrice's voice. She quickly regains her composure and pushes herself away from the wall, offering Beatrice a warm smile. "Oh, sorry about that. Lost in my thoughts for a moment. How's everything with Nicole?"

Beatrice returns the smile, her own expression a bit confused. "She's doing great. Just a little rebel, this one." She holds Nicole up for Evelyn to see, who immediately breaks into a grin while kicking her small legs, “Look at that.”.

"She takes after her parents, I see," Evelyn chuckles. "Well, I'm glad everything went smoothly. Are you feeling alright?"

Beatrice nods, her voice steady but her eyes are still on Nicole and she takes the time to adjust the bag strap on her shoulder "Anxiety acting up, nothing more."

“...can I ask you something?”

“Yeah, sure!”

Evelyn chews the inside of her cheek, going back to crossing her arms, “...how do you feel about this deployment?” she questions quietly, “I want to ask Shells but you know how she’ll be,” and she makes a movement with her hand, something akin to ‘what the hell’ and rolling her eyes, “She won’t give me a straight answer…but you will. I am anxious as well,Bea…and I’ve handled deployment a lot.” she flicks her gaze to Cyclone’s picture on the wall, the crisp white uniform appearing even brighter under the light, “But this one…I don’t know, something feels off.”

And Beatrice hated it because it feels like it.

“Listen,ugh,’ Evelyn rubbed the bridge of her nose, “Sorry, sorry,I don’t want to add to it. I’m just…I don’t have anyone to share my worries with. My mom…she’s more used to it than I am but–” and Evelyn goes back to leaning on the wall, this time Beatrice joins her, with Nicole still babbling happily with her head on Bea’s shoulder, “...feels off doesn’t it?”

She didn’t want to admit it, “...it does.”

“They’ll be okay.”

“I know. They will.”

‘Then why,” Evelyn begins, throwing her hands up, “Why are we nervous like this?”

“Well,I don’t know about you but my anxiety never really left…I think it’s worse because of the pregnancy.” she suggests, clearly not knowing it either, “But…we are still talking to them, you know? And…and knowing more about what’s been going on, within the rules of course, so…maybe it’s the hormones.”

“...makes sense.”

“Yeah! They are good at what they do.” Was she really comforting Evelyn and not vice-versa? Is this an alternative universe??? “And I know they’ll be okay…especially now.” she inhales softly, then shakes her head, “Anyway, let’s go back to the party, yeah?I’m sure your family is worried sick about you now.” she places a hand on Evelyn’s shoulder, this time leading her back instead. “I think we’ll both need this more than we know”

She does wait for Evelyn to walk out first, taking a few minutes to breathe and close her eyes, only opening when she feels good enough. She knows they’ll be alright, but she doesn’t really mind when she pulls out her phone to write him a message.

Adler lore dump

OK OK so, silly Lil adler

Also tw for stuff about Stockholm syndrome(not in detail but thought I'd mention quickly)

Bros like 124 years old, though his body hadn't exactly aged (I'll explain why in a second), a basic rundown is he used to work in the foundation like 100 years ago but he then discovered that there was an in-between like place between reality and dreams (if that makes sense idk) and so he did all the proper things like figuring out how to enter, getting approval, etc but when the time came since it was the first time unbeknownst to him it was the person who opened the place who'd be transported in so instead of the d-class it was him who got transported into the in-between.

He also could not be followed cus bros handwriting is a literal ass and most of his research was written down, so Alder stuck in the in-between began to explore going through the place and interacting with the locals, eventually however he meets this 'person' (which was just the silhouette of a woman that was pure white) and she and he start talking and eventually began to get along with her helping him and explaining how to leave he had to get to the queens place where there was a way out and even gives him directions.

He ofc is thrilled by this and starts following said directions with her popping in occasionally to check on him. Eventually, he got to some fabric-like tunnels (that I could describe as si.ula4 to the Coraline tunnel with the formatting of bamboo and texture of easy-to-tear fabric) so he seeing how breakable each wall is decided that's how he's gonna get through, all goes well till well going through one wall he gets a cut on his wrist and learns that the walls have tiny needles (like fibreglass in?)

But he does not think much of it instead choosing to continue walking but now he's feeling himself get a bit sick which concerns him but he doesn't have time to deal with that so he keeps going on eventually getting to the queen's palace(which is more similar to fancy catacombs and a ants nest) and there he discovers the white silhouette was the queen.

The queen greets herself and declares she's fallen in love with him during his adventures and wishes for him to stay, and to ensure he'd have to, purposely sends him down the tunnel knowing he'd eventually get cut and get an illness that can be fatal and such if left untreated, but if he stays she can treat him and they can live happily ever after, she is then promptly rejected and Adler explains how he, knowing that info would rather return and die then stay and attempts to make a break for the exit, but she quickly catches him with his body being too weak cus of the illness and she locks him in a room.

In the room he's isolated and she lets him get to the stage where he's bedridden so she has an easier time dealing with him, and then Stockholm syndromes him into loving her back, and she then nurses him back to complete health (he has side effects from the illness being dealt with so late but they aren't as big of a problem atm) and they rule together.

However as he lives in the in-between his body starts shifting becoming more butterfly and dream-like till he's unrecognizable to his human self and gains abilities (done by the queen without him knowing), however at some point before he was fully turned they cut off his finger which they used to grow a child(cus ofc stuff like that works differently in the in-between).

Though at some point the queen just vanishes leaving adler to rule alone (roughly 98ish Years), though suddenly he's confronted by two humans(different ocs I'll out in a different post at some point, but all thats importantis ones a mtf, and another is a 05 at the time) who had somehow gotten in themselves and end up tricking/dragging him through the exit, the 05 using some stuff to lock his memories away basically in adlers dreams, to make sure adler never remembers(mainly so he dsoent get vengeful) he takes pills that stop him from dreaming.

Now, said child finally grows after he's gone for a year and she's sent to the in-between orphanage, breaking out and going through the different lands, encountering ppl who tell her about her father giving her motivation to learn more(she however takes a alternative route then he did after getting advice from a elderly wine maker) and avoids the tunnel, once at the palace hwoever she finds it to be empty, reading journals and books written about and from her parents she learns the truth and ends up hating her mother finding it a abuse of power and leaving the in-between herself, and later joining the GOC

Some silly facts!!!

-Alder was based on a actual dream I had where I played basically his daughter, I kept having ppl in the dream tell me they knew my dad (1 person event giving me coins cus they lost a bet and he told them if he ever had a kid to give them some coins when they saw them)

-Adler and his daughter since she was made through his finger look exactly the same like a gender swapped version of each other (she however looks healthier without the illnesses effects)

-some effects that left on adler is around his fingers and eyes theirs a heavy lost of pigment with his hair minus the ends basically being white, he also is extremely fragile like if you pushed him he'd break like 3 bones alone.

Their official titles are 'King of Dreams'(Adler) and 'Princess of Nightmares'(his daughter), and well, Adler is based around a butterfly his daughter is a moth

-their powers are simular to a reality bender but they can only effect things that dream (like if they summoned a tornado in a room ppl could go flying but the actual room and tables would be fine) and they can turn into their respective insect (adler can turn into a tiny butterfly and his daughter a large moth), they however don't use their powers because his daughter dosent know how and he dosent remember he can

-Adler is besties with Lung(another oc)

-some features that are like a peak at what they actually are is their eyes are shaped like stars and take on a dreamy look (they also have halos but those are hardly visible like you'd have to be standing close just to realize they have them

Your professor was looking at you with expectation, the small piece of paper hanging between his fingers like the sword of Damocles over your head. You were staring at him in silence for a few seconds now, and the whole situation was starting to get awkward. 

“So,” he pressed on, dangling the paper in front of your eyes. On it, the name and phone number of one of your classmates. “What do you say?” 

When he asked you to stay after class, you expected it would be something related to tutoring. Your professor had mentioned it in passing a few times before, so it wasn’t exactly a surprise when he told you he had found you someone who really needed your assistance. You were beaming with joy for precisely a minute and twenty one seconds until he revealed the name of your student. 

Jeon Jungkook. 

Before you had any chance to muster an excuse for why you couldn’t — under any circumstance — get close to someone like that, even less tutor him, your professor already had his card up his sleeve. “It’ll be good for your curriculum.” 

And you said yes in a heartbeat.

Jungkook was predictable. You knew that he would be late (after all, his cringy bad boy persona would never allow him to follow one single rule in his life), you just didn’t know it would be almost two-hours-late. By the point that you saw that hurricane in human form walking into the library, you had already finished your homework for the entire week. 

He had the nerve to smirk at you, and you swore an oath to yourself that you wouldn’t present him with the irritation he was expecting. And you didn’t — with all the patience and kind-heartedness that your parents had pushed down your throat your entire life, you put on your best commercial smile and greeted him like he was just in time. 

“Well, now that you’re here, let’s start with the basics and go over some defense cells.” You tugged the heavy Immunology book towards you, quickly flipping the pages towards the chapter that you had chosen for that first session. Jungkook had already taken his typical slouched position on the chair next to you, looking like he was about to slide down to the carpeted floor. “I’d like to know how familiar you are with it, though. Can you start by telling me about the types of lymphocytes?” 

He chuckled, running one hand through his hair. “I have no idea what that shit is.”

You took a deep breath and ignored the irritation that was building up on your stomach. You didn’t know how someone could be so indifferent about everything. “Well... that’s why I’m here,” you managed to keep your voice cheerful. 

He raised his eyebrows. “You’re here because you wanna get paid, princess. No need to play the Good Samaritan.”

You thought about telling him that you weren’t getting paid, but the idea wasn’t the best one. He’d probably mock you even more for wasting your Friday afternoon tutoring in the name of your curriculum. Not that he knew the importance of that, anyways. 

“This is some bullshit.” Jungkook rested his head on his crossed arms, lying over the table, pushing away your pens and notebooks as he did so. His black hair fell over his features as he grouchily mumbled out, “I don’t even know why I chose this class, it has nothing to do with my major.”

You were surprised that he was even majoring in something, instead of just frequenting the campus as an excuse to meet girls. “Well, I can't answer that for you, can I?” You asked, tapping on his book’s hardcover. That little antibody drawing was staring at you in a silent mockery, wondering if you’d be able to make him study — or even care about anything. “But I can help you with the rest. Now, come on. Types of lymphocytes.”

His eyebrows came down to form a confused frown. Jungkook would’ve probably given you the same reaction if you had just called his mother all the filthy names you could think of. “You’re really trying to teach me?” He asked. “Like, for real?” 

You sighed. The time you taught your little cousin how to read was less frustrating than that. “It’s kind of my job as a tutor, you know.”

Jungkook rose from his position and leaned back against the chair, his arms crossing before his chest. Beneath them, his strong pecs stressed against the fabric of his white shirt, but you refused to look. “You know that you can just pretend to teach me, I can pretend to learn, and you’re gonna get your credits anyways, right?” He asked as if you were the stupidest person he had ever met. “You don’t need to actually put in the effort, princess. Especially since I don’t give any fucks about immunology.” 

If he called you that stupid pet name one more time, you swore you were going to knock him out. “Well, I’m already here, I’d rather do things right.”

He scoffed, throwing his head back and rolling his eyes. “God, you’re so booooring,” he groaned. “Don't you have some charity work to do or something?” 

“I’m doing it right now.” You smiled. “I can see that you’re really trying to fail this class, don’t get me wrong. But I’m just trying to do my job—“

“Boooooring,” he sang, louder than the librarian would ever allow if she was close enough to hear him. Jungkook looked back at you, his eyes narrowed. You couldn’t really tell if he was disgusted or just annoyed. “Why do you even care? It’s just some stupid class, it doesn’t even matter. I’ll tell the professor you taught me everything and we can both go home.” 

“I can’t do that,” you said, firm. 

“Why not?” 

“First of all, because that’s wrong,” you told him. Just as you were about to say that, also, his unavoidable horrible grades would make clear that he hadn’t learned shit (which would make you look like a clown instead of a tutor), his laugh ruptured your sentence. 

“Oh, come on. You’re kidding me.” He smiled brightly — not a tender one, of course, but one full of perverse mockery. You had never met someone as condescending as Jungkook, and he was managing to push every single button inside you. “That’s wrong? What are you, six?” 

You frowned. “You’re the child here, just trying to find a easy way out instead of putting in the eff—“ 

“What are your dreams, princess?” He interrupted again, leaning his head to the side. You really, really, really hated him. “Wait, no, let me guess. A family, a suburban house, and a dog? A nine to five? Something like that? Having your husband cheat with the babysitter before you’re forty?”

Some part of you knew that he was just trying to make you so angry that you would give up on tutoring him. Jungkook didn’t know that you wouldn’t throw away your obligations so quickly, but he was able to make you mad enough to get an answer. “What are yours?” you spat, kindness long forgotten. “Remaining unemployed, talentless, mentally trapped in your twenties, and fucking desperate milfs for money until you die from an early overdose?” 

If your priest had heard you talk like that, he would most surely faint. 

Jungkook, however, didn’t seem so horrified. In fact, his disgusted smile quickly morphed into a diverted one, a chuckle leaving his lips. “Uh,” he mumbled. “Interesting.”

The shame from your previous outburst was starting to weigh down on you, but you managed to keep it undercover. “What?” 

“Didn’t know you had a mouth on you,” he said, clearly entertained. In a way, you were glad that he hadn’t taken your words to heart, because he could probably snap you in half if he was feeling like it. “You’re always so shy and shit. I thought you were going to cry.” 

“I’m not shy,” you spoke, defensive. You had gotten close to shedding a couple tears, but he didn’t need to know that. You hated confrontation. “I just don’t wanna talk to people like you unless I’m obligated to.” 

He raised his eyebrows — a silent threat. “People like me?”

There was a second of hesitation from your part that Jungkook didn’t miss. “Yes.” You couldn’t hold his piercing gaze. As much as Jungkook was annoying the shit out of you, you didn’t actually want to have a full-blown argument with him. Especially on university grounds. “People who can’t even tell me about lymphocytes. Now, are you done with your victimization session? Can we start, or do you wanna tell me more about how you’re burning college money and you are so superior because of it?” 

He chuckled and looked you up and down — actually looked at you. Weirdly enough, it felt like the first time that Jungkook was actually seeing you, and not the empty shell of a stereotype that he had built for you in his peanut-sized brain. “You’re really trying here, aren’t you?” He asked. 

You didn’t know if he was talking about the tutoring session anymore, but you decided not to bite. “Is that a sin now?” And, before he could say anything else, you added, “Page 124. Come on. Unlike you, I don’t have all day to sit around doing nothing.” 

He smirked. “You’re more fun than you look, princess.” 

And, for the first time, Jeon Jungkook wasn’t predictable — he actually opened the book on the page you told him to.

One hour later, he was already dozing off, a small puddle of saliva accumulating on top of his chaotic notes. Still, you counted that as a victory.

Okey so Finbar is dropping quite some implicit world building stuff here so let's take a look at that real quick. The 'only being around for 124 years'-bit points to a fun little thing called AGE SUSPENSION - some sort of rejuvinating therapy (no specifics yet, still in consultance with medical advisor who thinks it's bogus but still has to help me create some suspense of disbelief-explanation) that has been keeping Donna alive for 261 years without a corpus transfer, and is also offered to regular citizens UP TO 250 years. After that you either start aging and eventually die, or you are awarded a transfer and keep on livin'. So Finbar has been selected to transfer EARLY, which is special but not unheard of. And yeah there is plot relevance to it but don't worry about that for now :)

The 'bet Donna Cornello herself had to authorize it'-bit suggests that being transferred early is so special that it needs the approval of our ominous overlord. And here readers may learn that Donna's full name is Donna Cornello. Like the organization. Yeah.

those police officers who showed up for like 2 scenes in the og fnaf musical: just fucking, like. let an actual murder perp ESCAPE because they Forgot To Lock The Car And Went To Go Get Food and then just. DIDNT REPORT IT. because this, apparently, is NOT the first time theyve let someone escape, and because theyd LOSE THEIR JOBS IF THEY REPORTED IT. if the police is THAT bad in this town no fucking wonder phone guy's gotten away with everything so far.

been brainrotting over ranch duo (i think that’s their name???? right??) recently. so here. have some headcanons:

- jimmy takes care of the cows while tango takes care of the chickens. The calves love jimmy and often flock to him and often will just sit on him, trapping him in place until tango rescues him (because jimmy’s not going to shove them off)

- jimmy’s canary wings only come in after his first death (aka where he’s one of the first to die), and that’s gonna hurt, so not only do they both have to deal with the pain of the explosion, they have to deal with the pain of that a little bit later too

- none of their friends are actually sure whether they’re together-together or not, because they’re physically affectionate with each other and jimmy’s called tango his husband several times already?? but they also act confused when people ask if they’re dating

- they’re such a good duo because tango always asks for jimmy’s input on schemes etc. because he values his input and doesn’t just immediately brush him off and that’s all it took for jimmy

- they only have one bed in their base because they don’t have the resources for any more, which means they end up sharing. which works out really, because jimmy runs warm and tango can’t regulate his own body temperature (i hc him as some kind of netherborn, and to me it makes sense that they’d rely on the nether’s heat to keep them warm) and he’s always cold, even after jimmy got him a blanket

My #1 post of 2022

a few more ranch duo hcs because people seemed to like the last ones:

- they almost always seem to have coal dust on their hands (canary and his coal mine) but they're not actually sure what it's from. they do, however, like smearing it on each other's faces and seeing how long it takes the person to notice. they do it around others as well and see how they avoid bringing it up or pointing it out

- tango likes the chickens best because theyre like small heat packs that he can carry around with him. some of the ones that like him more even sit inside his jacket and poke their head out at the top

- tango's eyes glow in the dark/reflect light, and jimmy found it annoying at first because tango would blink at night and there would be light on their walls. now he jist finds it reassuring, if he glances back when they're on a mining trip and he sees these glowing eyes watching him from a distance, making sure he's okay

I find it so funny that the scene in the church is where Gaiman realized he wanted Tennant as Crowley. He really went “who do I know who’s both boneless and all bones at the same time, who would be great for this scene of a man trying not to touch holy ground” and then immediately decided that he needed David Tennant.

If even they don’t end up being anything romantic, I’m still very excited to see how Crowley and Aziraphale’s relationship will be different in seasons two. Like now that they don’t have to deal with keeping up appearance with heaven and hell, they can be so much more open with their friendship and the fact that they care for each other.

I keep thinking about this season is gonna all be about heaven and hell, while also having Crowley and Aziraphale 100% not giving a shit about their old bosses and just living their best lives. That’s such a great set up for a season and I just NEED IT NOW!!!

Also I think about how John Hamm’s Gabriel is coming back, and I can’t wait to see his character of “the worst boss you hate” interact with Rebel Angel Aziraphale.

One thing that’s been on my mind is how things so integral to human culture like singing, dancing, writing, making art, playing sports etc. are now only acceptable activities if you’re good at it.

I think singing it the one that gets under my skin the most cus humans fucking love music, sing ur heart our girlie, that’s what g-d made you to do. Sing and dance and write fucking poems. Do it because you’re human and not because you need to be good at it.

Since I just saw some Ao3 discourse across my dash again, I just want to say: I think it would be great if there was a similar site to Ao3 that was explicitly kid-friendly and heavily moderated. I’m against turning Ao3 into that site, but I think it would be good if that site existed. I don’t care enough to actually make it happen myself, but I’d probably cross-post some of my stories there and maybe donate to keep it running. This is not meant as some sort of gotcha, I think people should really get on that because it would be a net good for fandom overall.

The love square in Miraculous Ladybug seems so simple (“hey, that Superman-Lois-Clark thing? What if it went both ways?”), but I am in awe of how finely tuned and balanced it is. Both to make it plausible, and to make it interesting.

The show goes to great lengths to show that all sides (and in particular the two main ones) are absolutely realistic options if it weren’t for the rest. Adrien always liked Marinette and has been positively smitten with her since about season 2. Ladybug was always fond of Chat Noir and this has only increased. The one major time where Ladybug officially rejected Chat Noir, in Glaciator, was also one of the softest and genuinely most romantic moments between the two.

And at the same time, they didn’t make it too simple. The love square is not symmetric when you look at the details. Marinette’s feelings for Adrien and Chat Noir mirror his for Ladybug and Marinette to some extent at a very high level, but if you look down at the details, they’re all developing differently, at different paces, for different reasons, all the time. Chat Noir is the big romantic flirt. Marinette is head over heels and thwarted by anxiety. Both like grand gestures, but for Marinette it’s gifts, for Chat Noir it’s big events.

The show looks so simple, and I guess parts of it are. But the way our heroes interact in the love square is anything but, and that’s what makes it so much fun to watch.

Nowadays, you see a link, go, “that might be Rick Astley”, then you click it, Youtube plays an ad for dog food and you see below that is indeed Rick Astley. You go, “ah, yes, that was indeed a link to that music video. Do I feel like watching the video today or not? Probably  not, but I have the entire ad time to decide”. It’s essentially a global “do you really want to get Rickrolled?” filter.

hiii, i just finished around chapter 124 for the syaoran clone reveal but im still quite confused abt it. i get that syaoran had two souls inside of him but im not sure when he got duplicated ? or how the 2 souls in one body thing works when theres clearly two bodies? also why is the syaoran with an eyebatch now more violent? i mean hes always wanted to find the feathers it just feels more ?? idk the word for it. im having a good time reading it, the clone stuff is just confusing for me to understand. thx for answering!

hi! yeah its really confusing the way they explain it LMAO

i think the way i would explain it is like, fei wang was cloning the "original" syaoran so he could use the clone as a puppet, but OG syaoran was like "im not gonna let you do that" so he ripped out one of his eyes to put it in the clone (the syaoran we're first introduced to) so that this wouldn't happen. and ripping out his eye also halved his magic and i guess gave clone syaoran the other half of the magic (even though up until this point he hasnt been able to use magic at all. lol) and so in the time it took for him to like gain that magic again and be able to escape from fei wang, he hoped that clone syaoran would be able to like. make his own soul.

the whole wanting to get the feathers is the purpose fei wang wanted to make the clone for, so that's why he's really Going For It now because since that part of OG syaoran was taken back out, he's being controlled like originally intended. or something. but like OG syaoran says, clone syaoran is the one who decided to care about sakura, not anyone else, hence in chapter 2 when he says "i will not let sakura die" vs every other time when he states his intentions as "i will get the feathers" or whatever, which at first seems like it was the same goal but it's not. im restraining myself from going on a whole tangent on this because spoilers. lmao

Reminder for anyone trying to spell German words with a keyboard lacking certain letters:

ß can be written as ss

ä can be written as ae

ö can be written as oe

ü can be written as ue

ä, ö and ü can not be written as a, o and u. Those are completely different letters that stand for completely different sounds.

Do you ever feel like the people around you only know some kind of idealized version of you, because they don't know the mean comments you bite back, the petty grudges you hold or how easily you could hurt them with a few barbed words?

Do you feel like people wouldn't want to be around you if they knew what you are really like?

Well, here's your reminder that a) everyone bites back mean, petty urges and b) considering the mean thoughts more "real" or "authentic" than your actual actions is kind of silly.

Thinking a mean thing and then doing the kind thing anyway doesn't make your kindness fake or insincere, it just means your moral compass is hitting your brain gremlin with a newspaper.

Doing what you consider to be "the right thing" even when you don't want to doesn't mean you're secretly a bad person. The you going "ugh I don't wanna" isn't any more real than the you that's saying "but it's The Right Thing, so I'm gonna". If anything, I'd argue the latter is the more "real" you.

We all have a mean, petty, spiteful brain gremlin. If you think yours is louder or meaner than other people's, I don't think that makes you a worse person, I'm proud of you, 'cause that means you must be working harder at restraining it. And that, imo, is the real you. The you that's wrestling your brain gremlin.

Anyway, yeah. You're not manipulating people into thinking you're a better person than you are or anything like that. That's also the brain gremlin talking, so whack it with a newspaper right now, okay?
