For part 3, the heiress has an intel inside and she knew what's the real deal with Gil and Thena's relationship. I wanna see what's on her mind, she's giving this 'daddys money' vibe🤣 but you decide what will happen here. But may I request some angst and action in this part?
My requests ends here but I hope there's still something more to write for this AU because it's so beautiful and the way you write it? It makes it perfect. Thank you so much!
"Gilgamesh?"
"Hello," he nodded his head to her, "Little Heiress."
She frowned at the name, but perhaps she already knew that it was going to stick to her no matter how much she didn't like it. She could probably have guessed that as soon as she was called that by the Ice Queen herself, that it would be her name in this town forever.
"What brings you here?" she smiled, hoping to move onto more pleasant matters.
"I am here to sever ties," Gilgamesh cut right to the point, pulling his hands out of his pockets. He had a new tattoo. "The engagement is off."
She frowned. "That is not a decision you get to make on your own, Gilgamesh."
"No, I suppose not," he chuckled briefly, although the humour didn't stick to him like it usually did. "But the deal is done. The wedding is off, I've made my apologies, to your family and mine."
"You can't just do that!"
"I told them it was entirely my fault," he offered as the gentleman he was. "I'm to blame, and our families both know it. You can go back home and marry whomever you like."
"That's not-"
"But I'm staying here," he concluded, holding his head high as he said it. "My home is here--my life is here. It was a pleasure doing business-"
"I know, about it" the little heiress rushed out, leaving behind her desk with her fists clenched. "I know everything--about you and the Ice Queen."
He scowled at her mention of Thena.
She nodded, though, grinning at her upper hand. "I know all about your history together, how she was poisoned, how you beat her date within an inch of his life. I know how you took care of her for weeks--for months!"
Gilgamesh didn't wince or flinch at the accusations. They were all true, and they were no weakness of his. "And?"
"Your work-wife is a very public figure in business," the little heiress smiled cutely. "She's hardly unreachable, no matter how much security she has or how secretly she lives."
"Are you threatening her?" Gilgamesh asked very seriously, walking towards the little heiress with his own fists clenched. He could feel her own security detail drifting out of the corners of the room, but he didn't care.
"Not me," she pouted her lips at him, just oh-so innocent about it all. "But I'm sure you don't want everyone in the business to know how much you care for her--and vice versa. To have such a public weakness is bad business, is it not, jagiya?"
"I am not your jagiya," he snarled out with distaste.
The little heiress rolled her eyes. "Why even bother? If you really want to fuck her while you're here, I won't care-"
"Don't talk about her like that." She just stared at him, but he was quite serious when he said it. He held his ground, "don't ever let me catch you talking about her like that again."
The first two guards advanced on him with just a snap of her wrist. But they weren't carrying, and Gilgamesh was more than prepared to handle the same goons who had attacked him and Thena mere weeks ago. He slammed them to the ground, twisting their arms with even less mercy than he'd exercised before.
The next three ran at him. Gil turned, reaching into his jacket and throwing the knives with him with much better accuracy than last time. He'd been practising.
Gil took the last one down and even plucked the knife out of his shoulder again, slipping it back into his inside pocket just to make a point. He looked up at the little heiress, now without a single un-injured security guard to her name. "Am I clear?"
The little heiress shrank, just slightly. She leaned against the side of her desk, tracing her finger around on it in another outwardly 'cute' behaviour. "I was so excited for what business we could do back home."
"I told you," Gilgamesh reiterated. He waved his left hand at her. "This is home."
"You expect me to believe my father accepted that you stood me up?"
Gil smirked. "Your father does a lot of business in diamonds, kid. Do you know who is the literal Queen of the diamond industry?"
She flinched, slinking back behind the desk again, "not everywhere."
But Gil nodded, "everything goes by her, including the fakes. And your father knows better than to cross her, I'll have you know."
"He knows about you two?"
"He knows that you got a little carried away with his money and his security he hired for you," Gil frowned again, slipping his hands back in his pockets (and absently kicking the head of one of the men at his feet). "Everyone knows better than to aim their shot at royalty. Everyone but you, I guess."
"Well," the little heiress huffed, "I'll be sure to tell him that my assumptions about your affair with her were right anyway."
"You can tell him anything you want," Gil scoffed, already turning to head out. "So long as you stay the hell away from my Ice Queen."
"Yours?" the little heiress called after him on his way out of her temporary office. "She belongs to you, does she?"
"No," he waved with his left hand again, wiggling the fourth finger, where he'd gotten a ring tattooed just two nights before. "I belong to her."
Gilgamesh let the doors close without so much as a goodbye. Whatever consequences came from all this, he would deal with as they happened. He hadn't lied, he had broken off all ties with her family, and apologised to all parties involved with the fiasco.
But really, he was far too old for his family to be selecting brides for him. And he was far too removed from the family business in Korea for them to be thinking he would return to it, no matter their sense of tradition or duty they deflected onto him.
His home was here. His life was here. His business was here.
Thena was here.
He exited the elevator and strode straight out of the building and across the street. He could have guessed she knew he'd be coming here, no matter how much she claimed she didn't care how he handled things with the little heiress from now on. He leaned down, knocking on the window. "Ice."
The window lowered, just enough for him to get a glimpse of that killer blonde hair of hers. "Tyrant."
"She won't bother you anymore," he stated and then slipped his hand over the window edge before she could roll it up on him. "Us--she won't be bothering us anymore."
She sighed, rolling the window down the rest of the way. She looked tired, but it didn't do anything to distract from how beautiful she was. She raised her brows at him, lace pulled tightly around her. "Us?"
He just looked at her, eyes wide and pleading. She hadn't exactly forbidden him from ever speaking to her again, but he wouldn't say he was in her good graces yet either. He tapped his fingers on the door. "Us?"
Thena eyed his hand, examining the tattoo still showing signs of redness on his finger. "That's new."
He smiled at her hopefully, "I thought it would be an effective place holder. Y'know, until I get a real one to wear."
She only gave him a withering glare before making a point of attempting to roll the window up, despite his hand keeping it down.
"Dinner?"
"Not tonight."
"Tomorrow?" Gil persisted, finally letting go of the car door. The window got almost all the way up before it paused. It was blacked out completely, only showing him his own reflection. But his heart leapt as he heard that lace loosen from around her.
"My office, after end of business. Don't be late."

Very Minor Spoiler for Episode 7 (S2) of Rings of Power
Thinking casually about Galadriel's declaration earlier this season that caring for that which is most fragile and most dear is the duty entrusted to all elves and how Celebrimbor's gentle care in noticing and greeting that little mouse is what allowed him to see past Sauron's deception. :)

i am so obsessed with how like. taken as read the ot3 are at this point. like on the one hand it feels like they've been building up to this for ages but on the other hand it kind of feels like i blinked and we skipped right past some Major Turning Point where everything got spelled out and we're just already in firmly Established Relationship-land. obviously tarvek is too well-protected for anyone to assassinate openly, look how angry his boyfriend and girlfriend are at the idea of anyone threatening him. at this point i'm half-convinced agatha's just going to refer to her boyfriends in passing to someone else and no one's even going to comment on it until van finds out twenty pages later and immediately starts making everyone pay up

I’m on board with the “Adar was/is Celeborn” theory purely because I want this crack exchange -
Adar/Celeborn: You cheated on me with Sauron!
Galadriel: Well you also cheated on me with Sauron so the scales are balanced
Adar/Celeborn: What?? In what-
Galadriel: You left me, your wife, for 1000 years, to have a family and children with him
Adar/Celeborn: Okay, well, you fell in love with him. Which means you weren’t even in love with me in the first place. Which is worse
Galadriel: YOU LITERALLY HAD HIS CHILDREN
Adar/Celeborn: You married me for all eternity wiTHOUT EVEN BEING IN LOVE WITH ME
High King Gil-Galad, to Elrond: Still think he’s fake and they’re not married?
Elrond: Oh no, I take it back, they’re definit- oh my god Galadriel do not challenge him to a duel there is nothing wrong with your womb gods above

jays story would be a 10000 times worse if she killed her dad she loves her family too much its the biggest conflict of interest her love her genuinely love of her family and the love for her crew.even when he terrifies her even when she sees him for shit father he was she still loves him. i dont think she forgives him or sees him as right or even wants him in her life in the hypothetical they could meet in the middle
Gillion on the other hand
The elders while gil doesnt view them as anyway parental still fill the position it would be so cool of him it would be a Lot. i think he's becoming kinder and letting himself embrace this nuace view of the world that is very good for him his story is all abt unlearning and recognizing the toxic systems in place. But also. He can do it. Theres nothing more reclaiming than killing the people who raised u. It would null his oath he can start to define himself in his long journey of identity kill your parents gil

How (if at all) has Temp changed after the whole "being burned at the stake because the french were salty" deal
Well for one I think he has a big fear of fire now naturally and (I forget to draw this constantly but) burn scars over half of his body not just on his face. He’s kinda self conscious about em and has his bad confidence days but he’s learning how to love himself more these days and it’s getting better :)
I also wanna go the really angsty route and say that because of the smoke inhalation damage to his lungs - he can’t sing beautifully like he used to and even his speaking voice is raspier and a bit quiet now
He and France are very cold and barely civil to each other now - everyone knows not to leave those two in a room together alone. More often than not Gil ends up being the default mediator between em lol

I eat the tasty part first. If I start with the part I do not like, I will hurry; thinking about having the tasty part afterwards. But if I start with the tasty part, the rest of the meal feels more precious and I savor it, too.

Actually full disclosure, not to be a fake Mochijun fan, but the reread I finished this week was the first time I've read Pandora Hearts in its entirety since I was a teenager, and MAN it hits different now that I'm not fourteen.
I don't have the brain capacity to get into all of it now, but man. man. Experiencing the back half of Pandora Hearts with adult eyes and comparing that to your teenage half-memories is a wild time.
It's also very funny that my favorite character went from Oz to Gilbert given that I started reading this series for the first time when I was a year or two younger than Oz, and now I'm Gil's exact age.

I just had an evil idea. What if one day Gilgamesh finally had to make good on his promise to kill Thena if the Mahd Wy'ry ever took over her completely? Maybe he deals with it alone or one of the others finds him, up to you. I know you're good with angst so this should be painful
Gil's chest constricted. He felt like he couldn't breathe. He just stared, trying to wrap his head around what was happening. "No...n-no, I-"
The Deviant--the demonic entity facing him dropped its shield onto the jungle floor. Its vines had reached around the Strongest Eternal and retrieved something to serve as a defense. It was a wall of flesh, used only to absorb the shock of a punch.
The body rolled and tumbled, limbs dead weight, blonde hair falling lightly in comparison. Her eyes were still open, and the white colour that had been fogging them cleared to reveal their usual green. It was dark, and they no longer held their shine. The Warrior Eternal was dead.
Gilgamesh's chest puffed as he tried to breathe. He couldn't. What he was seeing didn't make any sense to him. The face of Thena, his lifelong partner, was staring up at him. But it wasn't her. It didn't look like her. His powers dissipated, sparks of gold disappearing into the still and heavy air, a minimal light in the growing dark.
"That is truly a shame," the devil lamented. "Her powers would have been one of the most useful to me."
Gil couldn't understand the words it was saying either. He knelt--fell to his knees. He reached slowly, delicate as he grasped the shoulder of the woman he loved. "Thena?"
She had no response. Her body was heavy as he lifted her into his embrace. He had snapped her spine, destroyed it in a way even an Eternal wouldn't survive. Maybe it was the most merciful way, with Mahd Wy'ry clouding her mind and that thing holding her, maybe she hadn't known it was he who had landed the killing blow.
He didn't know if it was better if that thing was the last she had seen, or if it would have been better for her to see him, only for him to end her life the way he had. As violent as the nature of their powers were, he never wanted to turn that force unto her. Even in all his years thwarting the attacks of her episodes, he always did his best to protect her and himself.
"Oh, Thena," Gilgamesh whimpered. His breath still came sparingly, his throat constricted far too tight. He cradled her head against his chest, the way he would if she were merely having a terrible dream. He ran his fingers through her hair as he watched the golden lines of her energy pull away from her skin, leaving the grey remains of the physical body.
Gold glittered the air again as the Warrior Eternal's life left her in the last way possible. Their own took cautious and unbelieving steps towards them.
"Gil!"
He felt the vines of that thing at his back. Horrific appendages made to do worse than end life: made to steal it. He set Thena down gently, unwilling to cause her any more unrest.
The trees quivered as he turned, roaring out the energy building up in his body. Rage and grief coursed through him as he turned and grabbed the creature. His hands were more than capable of crushing through its flesh, no matter what being of natural make or nightmare of the stars. He ripped its arms from its body.
Gilgamesh arched his hands up. He watched the shadow of his sledgehammer fists stretch over the beast's face before he brought them down. The forest blew back from the impact, even more than the last time he'd landed a punch like this. And he kept going.
Every hit, every strike, every scream he let out of his lungs for a loss of what else to do, that thing would suffer. He would make something incapable of death experience the loneliness of pain. He would make it understand what it meant to be alone--what it meant to fear.
The ground impacted from his strength. He continued. He swung his fists, the air bending around him, compressing and bursting, gold streaking through the dusk as he swung at it like an animal fighting for its life.
The thing was dead. He didn't care. He wanted it to be no more. He wanted to beat it down so small that it disappeared into the wind or bled into the core of the earth. His strength would prove that it was still good for something. Now that he had failed to protect his greatest love, he would enact the greatest punishment he could.
"Gil, stop it!"
They were calling him, but he couldn't hear them. He couldn't understand what they were saying. He kept seeing Thena's lifeless face, the feeling of her Cosmic Energy fading into nothing. Now that there was no more Thena, he didn't even feel like he was on Earth anymore. There was nothing to center and anchor him. He felt as if all of his senses had been shut off and there was only pain remaining.
He had never been without Thena's energy to match the rhythm of his, not in all their millennia together. And now, all the air in his lungs was gone, his blood was no longer flowing because his heart was empty and void. He was afloat, trying to follow what remained of Thena in pure stardust.
Gilgamesh roared one last time as he tore the thing apart. What was once its body cavity was forced open with his fingers like an agate, revealing its jagged insides. Its arms were strewn and its head simply was no more. And yet still looking at it only made him want to do more.
"That's enough," his brothers attempted to pull him away, out of the crater he had created.
He turned away, throwing them off of him. He walked back to Thena, laid where he had left her. Her sisters were leaning over her precious body, but he waved them away.
He picked her up again, cradling her head and her poor, broken back. He held her delicate shoulders, which used to curl into him, seeking his warmth. His fingers slid into the depths of her thick blonde hair. She already felt cold.
His tears fell onto her. Once her hand would wipe them away, but now it lay limp beside her. He rocked them back and forth, his body now unsteady without anything real at all for connection. He pressed his cheek to her hair, "my Thena."
He could hear their family moving behind him. They were building a fire, to release her body, to follow her Cosmic Energy back to the stars and their home. But he held her tighter.
You may have to kill her; that was what they once said. And he had said that was a chance he was willing to take. Because he would take any chance in the world to be with his Thena even one more day. And for beings without natural death, he didn't take it lightly.
But this wasn't right. He didn't want to build her a funeral pyre. He didn't want his eyes to watch a fire consume the life of a woman whose every second and minute and hour he would weave into a beautiful tapestry of if he could.
They should have been home. They would have been in Australia, at the home they had built together. He would bury her in the warm, red sands, under the tree she liked. Life without her would be pain but at least he could continue his mission.
His mission was never to protect earth. It wasn't to kill Deviants or serve some far away god. His mission was to protect Thena. It was to love and cherish the woman who had been by his side from the moment he opened his eyes. And he would have spent the rest of Eternity protecting her, until Earth ripped itself in half to mercifully swallow him up into oblivion.
They expected him to give her up. But this was the woman he loved. He held the body of his wife, as preciously as he would on any day, or any night.
Thena had once said that she didn't want to be the one to kill him. She had begged him to kill her first. He had never agreed, because he didn't want to lie to her, but he didn't think he was capable either. He didn't want to endure the pain of living without her, something surely even his strength couldn't weather.
"I kept my promise," he whispered against her forehead, pressing a kiss to it. What a terrible promise it was. He had taken the chance, but to live with it was something harder.
"Gil," Sersi's soft whisper reached him, her hand on his arm.
"Just wait for me, sweetheart," he cooed to his ever-sleeping wife. He wrapped his arm around her shoulders and under her knees, picking her up for the last time. The pyre was ready. Even if it was already lit, he would lean into the fire gently, just to lie her to sleep the way she liked. "I'll come and find you."

i also don’t know why it would occur in any regard, given that chrysi’s pretty ride-or-die with her boyfriends, but au where she and gil are separated and wren goes between both their houses.. i think he’d call jacks his evil stepmom while at gil’s place, and when gil’s like, “oh, i don’t like jacks either. i don’t know why chrysi’s dating him.” wren will look at him very seriously and says, “i like jacks. he’s my evil stepmom, but he’s very, very bad at it. he tried to drop me off in the middle of the woods, but he ended up getting lost, so i had to lead him out.” gil is in shock.

It is decidedly not sane that after every encounter with Moon Ok Gyeong - where she made me feel all wriggly inside - that I desperately want Kang Gil Young and Choi Yoon to go down rough and dirty in my brainrot. What do you even call this weird shipping transference???
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
#shipping brainrot#fixated fangirl and shipper weirdness#not even hor*y for Moon Ok Gyeong#just having lots of big passionate feelings for the character and JEC’s performance#and the visuals OMFG#Jung Eun Chae is one of the most compelling and beautifully handsome woman I have ever seen#my parasocial relationship with her is very healthy LOL 🤪😜😂#but it is certainly the combination of visuals and characterizations for her characters#I am obsessed more with Kang Gil Young and her other characters#should add Moon Ok Gyeong to the list#because MOG does something entirely different for me#the visuals/aesthetics just make my heart race 😭😭😭#and the brief brainrot for my beloved KGY/CY#Moon Ok Gyeong is truly something else#can I even survive the next five weeks?#should I even be sad or grateful that MOG is not the main character?#but I have little to no shipping brainrot for MOG yet#though am looking forward to the canon love story (if any 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽)#or is it already implied that Moon Ok Gyeong and Seo Hye Rang is a couple?#I actually do think so#but I also multiship her with others#however I leave the fleshing out/writing to other masters of fanfiction#because MOG makes me feel a lot of things#but really nothing much in the way of shipping feels (so far)#but I am all in for the shipping in Jeong Nyeon too#I still mostly want JEC’s characters to go down dirty and rough with KJU’s characters#unfortunately am truly a f/m shipper at heart 😭😭#and MOG is not a character to be shipped with any men 😭😭😭#Moon Ok Gyeong
