I and my husband have been having an issue with a friend, Hannah Ose, who was once close to us. It started a week before 1️⃣2️⃣ February, I went up to her as she was waiting for the bus in front of a gym we both go to but she had been acting weird like she wanted me far away but every day after that she avoided me altogether. My suspicions were confirmed after I confronted her by messaging, it appeared she no longer wanted to be friends with me or my husband 'The Beastersaurus' because she assumed both of us are associated with her enemies who are spreading rumors behind her back. But the truth is, it has been 3 years since I and my husband have been in touch with Hannah or our other friend Callan Cureton and I have a hunch that Callan's mother Heather has been weaving this deep web of assumptions into her head. My instincts proved to never fail me for this woman who pretends she can't walk by traveling in a mobility scooter is the root behind this drama, reasons unknown. Wolverton: A Historic Railway Town with a Modern Twist
Nestled in the north-west of Milton Keynes, Wolverton is a town rich in history, heritage, and transformation. Located beside the West Coast Main Line, the Grand Union Canal, and the River Great Ouse, this town is the administrative heart of the Wolverton and Greenleys civil parish.
Tumblr media
A Historical Glimpse
Wolverton is one of several Buckinghamshire areas that laid the foundation for Milton Keynes in 1967. Though modern Wolverton emerged in the 19th century, the village itself dates back to the Domesday Book of 1086, where it was known as Wluerintone. The original settlement, now referred to as Old Wolverton, was once a bustling medieval village. While the site is largely gone today, its legacy is still visible in the ridge-and-furrow agricultural patterns in nearby fields.
Interestingly, archaeological digs have revealed Anglo-Saxon remnants dating back to the 400s, including a significant Anglo-Saxon cemetery from the 600s—the largest ever discovered in Buckinghamshire. Standing witness to these centuries of change is the Saxon Church of the Holy Trinity, still beside the ruins of a Norman Motte and Bailey castle.
Tumblr media
The Rise of a Railway Town
Fast forward to the 19th century, Wolverton took on a new identity as a railway town, becoming home to the locomotive repair shops of the London and Birmingham Railway in 1838. This ushered in a period of industrial boom, with hundreds of homes built for railway workers and the establishment of a church, schools, and even a printing works.
Though the town’s role in locomotive production diminished by the late 19th century, Wolverton pivoted toward carriage production, making it the home of the Royal Train fleet. During World War II, the town's factories played a key role in producing war materials, from Lee-Enfield rifle parts to aircraft wings.
Canal Connections and the "Secret Garden"
Another historical gem in Wolverton is its connection to the Grand Union Canal, which skirts the northern and eastern edges of the town. The canal was once an essential waterway, albeit prone to disruptions due to flooding. Today, it remains a peaceful presence, along with the Secret Garden—a community park cultivated by residents on derelict land leased from Railtrack. Once a Victorian townhouse site, the garden now offers a serene space for summer events and music, tended to by volunteers.
Wolverton’s Unique Landmarks
Wolverton is home to several remarkable landmarks, such as the St George the Martyr Church, a listed building from 1843, and a historic football ground believed to have one of the world's oldest covered stands, dating back to 1899. Though the original stand was demolished in 2006, a replica has been erected to honor the town’s sporting legacy.
Another modern symbol of Wolverton was the Agora Centre, built in 1978, which became a community hub known for shops and its lively roller discos. Loved by some and disliked by others, the Agora was a defining part of the townscape until its demolition in 2022, with new developments now rising in its place.
Green Spaces and Education
Wolverton is also known for its green spaces, including Victoria Park and an expanse of allotments, with access to footpaths leading to the countryside. The Flood Plain Forest nature reserve, located on the River Great Ouse’s floodplain, is a haven for wildlife and a peaceful retreat for residents and visitors.
The town offers solid educational infrastructure with a secondary school, The Radcliffe School, and two primary schools, Bushfield and Wyvern, along with the Slated Row Special School.
A Well-Connected Town
Tumblr media
Wolverton’s road and rail links make it an integral part of the broader Milton Keynes area. With Wolverton railway station offering local services and easy access to major grid roads, the town is well-connected to both rural bus services and national routes. The MK Connect on-demand bus service ensures that all areas, including Wolverton, are accessible.

2007: Lookana - St. Vitus City Express Metro Service Begins
Tumblr media
By the mid-2000′s, the St. Vitus Transit Authority had addressed the system’s stated goals and completed each of the explicit projects called out in the 1993 Transit Master Plan, save one: express service between St. Vitus proper and Lookana, the borough’s two largest population centers. Furthermore, planners recognized that a major cause of stress on local-service lines was the abundance of travelers between the two major cities; although the Chatham Point ferry allowed passengers to finally commute between the main population centers via public transit, they could only do so via a multi-modal, ad hoc “route”. Although SVT leaders felt that the task was ambitious, it became the next major priority in their mind, and they set their engineers to work designing an express route from St. Vitus to Lookana.
The bulk of the infrastructure would be composed of a double-rail trunkline, extending from one city to the other. The majority of the line, which passed through undeveloped rural areas, would be composed of surface rail, with the expectation that underground metro tunnels could be easily excavated as future development necessitated. It would be flanked by highway, creating a road-rail transportation corridor that was intended to form the backbone of future transit should rapid development continue to occur.
At the southeast end, the new express line terminated downtown at the St. Vitus Transit center. An expansion of the center was necessary to accommodate this new line, and engineers designed the expansion with an additional platform to facilitate a future north-south metro line parallel to the express line.
On the other end of the line, the decision of where to terminate was not as straightforward. The project team recognized that ideally, the express line would terminate downtown at the Lookana Transit Center, but constraints in the area meant that doing so would likely preclude a future extension of the Yellow Line. Designers instead opted to extend the Yellow Line to a new station at the southwest end of the city -- Bushfield Station -- where it would connect with the express line and, potentially, a new future east-west rapid metro line in south Lookana.
SVT chose to procure the fastest metro cars on the market at the time -- the Tokyo S01 -- and purchased two of the model. However, by 2009 the line had proven so popular that two additional cars were necessary to bring capacity up to meet demand. The authority was, by this time, posting budget surpluses in excess of $1,000,000 per year with over 125,000 total trips annually.

Into the Mind (Sherpas Cinema 2013)
Tumblr media
SkiStar Movies Rating: 3/5 Stars
Callum Pettit, Kye Petersen, JP Auclair, Tom Wallisch, Rory Bushfield, Eric Hjorleifson, Austin Ross, Kris Erickson, Johnny Collinson, Xavier De La Rue, Benji Farrow, Ingrid Backstrom, Izzy Lynch, Angel Collinson, Jimmy Chin, Renan Ozturk, Matty Richard, Ian McIntosh, Mark Abma, Conrad Anker, Samuel Anthamatten, Karma Tsering, Chris Rubens, Julian Carr, Stan Rey, Tatum Monod, James McSkimming, Joel Loverin, Rush Sturges, DCP, Pete Devries
 Director:  Eric Crosland, Dave Mossop
A stellar piece of film-making?  Yes.
 A stellar ski movie?  No.
Allow me to begin with a comment regarding expectations.  If you’re looking for an eye-popping extravaganza of tricky film-making wizardry, you’ll like this movie.  If you’re looking a for a ski movie with unrelenting action and jaw dropping sequences – well, keep looking.  That’s not to say this is a bad movie – it’s to clarify that this movie may not give you what you want, depending on your expectations.
Following their mind-blowing 2011 release All.I.Can, whatever Sherpas did next was going to attract attention.  Judging by the online gabber, Into The Mind was easily the most anticipated ski movie of the 2013 season.  But what did we actually get?  We got a lot of spinning, barrel roll shots of (admittedly) spectacular settings and a lot of close-ups on eyeballs (my God, the Sherpas love their shots of windows into the soul or into the mind, even) that do pretty much nothing to get you excited about skiing.   The super slow-motion, high def footage of surfing waves crashing underwater and powdered snow showering across the screen beautifully illustrate the fractal quality of water droplets whether liquid or frozen and it’s all calculated to give you a real IMAX level visual experience.  But, when making a ski movie, you can pray all you want (and you can even have a monastery full of Tibetan monks spinning prayer wheels praying for the same thing – and Into The Mind has a lot of that) but if you do not have a ton of ski action in your movie, well then, I’m sorry, but those prayers will be in vain.
The shots of kayakers, surfers, whales etc are just plain distracting.  You’re focused on one skier’s style and then all of sudden you’re surfing in Hawaii.  Who wants those types of interruptions?  They bounce the ski vibe from side to side, making for a bumpy ride of a movie.  The loose plotline of a skier striving for some big mountain spine action but ending up on a page of the Tibetan Book of The Dead/hospital bed is too unfocussed to add anything substantive to the movie and at best, confuses and at worst, bores with its presence.   I get that he’s supposed to be some metaphorical everyman skier who’s had the shock of his life, but are we supposed to feel something here?  I mean we never become emotionally vested with the guy.  In this context he’s not a product of the skiing, he’s a device in a movie, so those sequences just create confusion.
Are there any redeeming moments, you ask?  Well yeah, JP Auclair reprises his take on urban skiing from All.I.Can and he doesn’t disappoint even if the thrill of that type of segment is diluted because you’ve seen it before.  Callum Pettit and Kye Petersen’s big mountain runs are a welcome sight.  Chris Rubens and Ingrid Backstrom deliver some of their best footage ever as they shred through powder pillows.  Eric Hjorleifson and Mark Abma continue to provide the type of inspiration one craves from real ski movies.   But, then it’s back to the speeding clouds and the slow-motion salmon jumping up river, all those gratuitous pretty eye candy shots that after a while seem like coffin nails to those of us jonesing for sports action footage.
Ultimately, Into The Mind will be the polarizing film of 2013, many will love it, others will be disappointed.   It all depends on your expectations. By Mark “The Attorney General” Quail
