Main Villain inspirations

Eh decided to finally post something here! I'll be dropping some random details regarding the writing and concepts while i get the big stuff ready to be posted. To start i'd like to just take some images in order to showcase the main inspirations behind the big bad of my story! I might give some context depending on how well this post does but for the time being these pics are all you get!

Don't ask why i have this or why people experimented with getting spiders high, but it's a cool concept right??

I'll also be making use of sketches as a general concept, the best comparisons i can think of are probably The Spot in ATSV(especially with the way he's animated) or this drawing made by @ShipwrightA on Twitter!

Well i'd obviously need some sort of bug species to use as a basis for this character given the themes i wanna develop, so i decided to use Sinopoda Scurion, a cave-dwelling spider that has exactly 0 eyes!

The highlighted ones are just the main inspirations, but the character takes a page from all "types" of Angel!

And lastly(as far as i can remember at least), this character is somewhat based on early 2000s aesthetic and nostalgia, since as you may have noticed they have a lot of otherwordly themes and mind fuckery! I felt like it'd be fun to also visualize this through the weird liminal memories people around my age may have.

Oh and don't look into my usage of the word "liminal", i'm not pulling any backrooms bullshit here (at least not on purpose, idk shit abt the backrooms so maybe some concepts will align lol, who knows)

It takes someone special to be able to tame tigers, ZigZag is special enough to. She has a natural ability to tame animals, intimidation most likely has something to do with it. She's a killer, to other bugborne atleast, a predator would be a better word for her.

⛰️ Mountains: Would you rather live in the mountains, city, beach, or the forest? 

Great question! Let's go through the pros and cons.

Mountain pros: I prefer chilly weather, and mountains are usually the best place for that. Also, picturesque.

Mountain cons: good luck with common utilities such as public transport and Wi-Fi out here.

City pros: This is where the Infrastructure is.

City cons: a profoundly spiritually unsatisfying answer despite the obvious practicality.

Beach pros: Nationally stereotypical (I'm Australian)

Beach cons: gotta be honest, I will happily go to the beach on occasion but I'm not much of a beach person. I would maybe die of skin cancer and most definitely get sick of saltwater and sand.

Forest pros: So lovely and green and full of nature.

Forest cons: In the summer I would die of several different bugborne diseases, and maybe a cassowary toenail to the thigh.

It's not PERFECT, but thinking it through, I'd say Mountains are the clear winner. Nice and peaceful. A bit far from places but that's alright. Good for inviting all my friends over for a weekend.

His climb had been a challenge; the urge to get up high had driven him to the top of the Cyclone, where he could watch down and hopefully not be spotted as he made sure Toomes was found by the right people. Seeing Happy pull up, and the cops - he relaxed a little more.

There was a fresh breeze this high, a strange sense of freedom that he couldn't figure out the cause for. He'd proven himself, in a hoodie, with things he'd built himself. Mr Stark had taken everything, and he'd still prevailed. Mostly... mostly, though, Peter felt exhausted. Wooziness washed over him. He should go home, swing away. His back hurt.

Everything hurt.

So easy to shut his eyes. To just - rest. For a little bit, waves of cold. His fingertips were tingling. He couldn't open his eyes. He was starting to slump, a wave of terror crashing through his chest and not enough to drag him to wakefulness as he distantly felt his body start to slide off the metal struts of the ride, unable to do anything but give in to rest.

Bugtober, days 15, 16, and 17 - Bubble Shield, Dance, and Fruit.

Day 15: Bugborne Leif. Did some funky shit with an eraser for the shield itself. Pretty proud of this one, I think.

Day 16: Just a quick Kali. Movement is hard, did you know?

Day 17: Acolyte Aria, probably also from Bugborne... and gods, my hand shakes were E V I S C E R A T I N G me on this one. I don’t know why they’re so bad today, and honestly, I’m not sure how I managed to make this look good. Redid the shine on the fruit itself in silver gel pen, since Herr Handshakes decided to make it so I couldn’t do a normal blank space there.
