Tips for Sheltering in Place:

Sheltering in place is [hopefully] a short-term solution to address a biological, chemical, nuclear, radiological or civil unrest threat. The objective is to protect those of us inside, from the bad stuff outside. Pre-planning should stock the "shelter" with water, food and other supplies for, at least, 2-weeks without venturing outside. Additional tips, here, will help take the necessary actions to effectively shelter in place. Learn how to evaluate When Bugging Out Is not an Option. Stay where you are (Shelter In Place) at home, or at work, and be able to Survive Where You Are for a reasonable period of time without any outside assistance. An Emergency Kit will be just as important when Sheltering In Place as it would be if evacuating (bugging out). Fortifying your residence (or where you are) at the time of an emergency, my require blocking and covering windows and doors for protection against bad weather or intruders. This should be considered and planned long before it is necessary. ooh i don't think i have rly talked about this much (or even at all LOL) but even if i had i wouldn't mind saying it again so you're totally a-okay to ask :3 !!

putting it under the cut so ppl don't have to scroll a bunch LOL but also I'M CURIOUS ABOUT YOU TWO NOW TOO- what do y'all do for dates and stuff? 👀

I think for Guz and me, our usual dates (that involve leaving Po Town fdsjkl) in Alola are: looking for wimpods on the beaches and just general beachcombing, neither of us are really fans of just... sitting on beaches fdsjkl we always gotta be Doing smth; visiting cafes to get tapu cocoa and malasadas and ice cream and all that sort of thing (Aina's Kitchen on Melemele Island is one place that is canonical!); watching sunsets from mountains or beaches (no way are we waking up early enough to see sunrises LMAO); museums and other touristy type of things (I think Guz wouldn't have done much of that bc of his previous angst lol so a lot of it would be new for him too :3); just walking around in general tbh, I love walking and just seeing the sights even in my own neighbourhood irl LOL; OOOH and I don't know if there's any canon spots for this but I like to think there's probably some really cool tucked away natural pools of water inside of caves that would be great for swimming and cooling off in, there's some really good mountains on the different islands for that sort of thing :O

i think most of it involves just getting out around the region and spending as little money as possible fsdjkl, neither of us are big on Big Romantic GesturesTM so we keep it casual and just hang out :] I think we tend to stay on Ula'ula for the most part but we definitely make it a point to visit the other islands as much as we can because it's good to get out and see different things !!! also because Aina's Kitchen is likely a favourite spot of ours so we'd have to go to Melemele for that hehe :3

tryingggg to decide what augustus and the changeling dress up as for halloween

#N posts stuff #the thing is that augustus is a goth and the changeling is crazy into horror as a genre #augustus doesn’t usually Style traditional goth bc she has too many sensory issues to want to bother with all the variety of it #but i think for halloween she has an outfit that she like. meticulously (and clumsily) lined to be tolerable on the skin #and she goes as a vampire (she has the teeth but always takes them off after like ten minutes bc she cannot speak with them in)#and she gets very excited for it and wakes up early to put it all on and even puts on makeup and it’s like #The One Day she can femme the hell out for #meanwhile the changeling i think picks like. really obscure horror protagonists and gets annoyed when no one recognizes it #like ripley is like ‘okay enough people would recognize the jumpsuit well enough’#but then it’s like. ashley evil dead ‘well. that’s just a guy…’#and it wants to do blood/injury effect makeup SO BAD but it is both extremely mediocre at applying it #and also can’t actually stand the sensation of it on its face for longer than like ten minutes #so then it truly is like Just A Guy. only distinguishable from chsngeling’s usual clothes bc it Only wears black tiedye shirts typically #(the ears stay ON for the halloween costume which. also doesn’t help)#i think they decide to coordinate costumes and it takes them like over a full calendar year to decide on actually following through #bc augustus is like ‘my one costume i’ve worn for the past ten years straight :(‘ and changeling is like ‘well all ur ideas are lame!!’#and then they go as like. The Lost Boys bc it’s vampire enough to satisfy augustus and horror enough for changeling #and no one recognizes what they’re doing and they get so mad about it #and then all this aside i’m also like ‘augustus should make a crazy detailed bug costume and be a beetle’#and Changeling just shows up to work poodling in the hypothetical world it can afford a fursuit. lol #i like you too

can my history teacher please shut the fuck up i get it’s a college class!! i get that! you don’t need to keep telling me i’m gonna fail!!

#the same thing happened when i took ap world except that teacher ended up actually being really good #this guy just won’t shut up about how i’m gonna be ‘put on academic probation no matter what college i attend’#like okay? your class is only relevant if i’m gonna stay in new york #idk i think that’s how these credits work #i’m so gonna end up nkt okay this year jus preparing y’all now #we got two college history college spanish college physics and the rest of my core claaaes are all honors #and i’m taking two art classes and choir every other day because that’s the only way that fit in my schedule #with no lunch or study hall save for every other day for the latter #and if i do get to eat it’s gonna be at 7 in the morning every other day #yippee!!#i did this to myself i have no right to be bitching #idk i’m not gonna take the deep dive into why i did this to myself #least ill have enough creds to graduate lmfao #also science counts as an elective for me since in ny you only need 3 science creds to graduate and i have all 3 #idk why i’m doing this #the outsiders will be my reward #for getting through a month and a half of this shit #i have no right to be complaining that isn’t that hard of a schedule #anyway!#alaska’s bitching #it just bugs me when he says i’m gonna be out on academic probation like yes colleges will see i got a b in college history in my junior #<year and crucify me on campus #totally logical #regents

more and more I find that people who can just readily accept a AAA game being made poorly and running like an earthworm on dry concrete so long as it's a new installation of the franchise are people who can afford to buy and play enough games that every purchase doesn't have to live up to a standard

which isn't to say I believe they're rich, it literally just means money is not so big an object that they aren't mad that the poorly made game wasted their money, because that wasn't a concern. it was never about how they saved several months to get 1 (one) game and it was bad, it was just that for them the game was okay enough to be received positively and the financial burden didn't factor into it.

sometimes I wish I could enjoy games that are obviously just slapped together and still want money from me, but I get annoyed being asked to pay $30 for a game that's in beta or for whateverthefuck S/V was because it was a huge financial imposition for me at the time.

I still don't think I'd enjoy those games now, but when I look at it, my inability to afford a variety of games put a huge onus on whatever I got to be well-done.

#booked my tour ticket and just booked my flights holy SHIT #the trip itself is happening end of July - early August #and im so EXCITEDDDDD #baby's first time out of continent!!!#ive been out of Canada I went to stay with a friend in the States in summer 2022 #(hi Hero <3)#but this is my first time off the continent!! first time to Europe!!#im so excited #ive been wanting to travel again ever since that 2022 trip #it put the travel bug in me #so being able to do this is INCREDIBLY exciting

Ykno sometimes trauma is in the stupid little things no one thinks about being traumatic. The little things that take you back, make a funny little video remind you of one of the most painful nights of your life

And you can't fault anybody for that. Not even yourself for looking at it. So you're just like. Sitting here & contemplating this bitch we call life

#speculation nation #negative/#i guess?#animal death ment/#preemptively tagging bc im expanding on it #they do say sudden deaths can cause trauma. and i already knew i had some from when sammy suddenly died.#but losing cassy just compounded it. including reinforcing some of those less than stellar reminders.#i cant listen to a cat yowl without getting thrust into a personal hell of dread #i ended up trembling after june bug was yowling from being put in the cage lol #i think the most stupid thing is the tongue thing #cat 'bleps' are widely seen as cute. it's delightful when i catch my cats doing them!#but 75% chance it makes me think of sammy and cassy. probably like 95% chance if i see it online bc it's static and lasting #sammy spent the entire time in my last visit with him with his tongue out. it wasnt cute. it was heartbreaking.#and then when cassy was put down. his tongue ended up sticking out. just something about the process of death.#sticking Way out. entirely unnatural for him. i touched it and played with it. cold dead meat.#i knew both times that being there as they died would be unpleasant. but i decided to stay both times anyways.#bc i wanted to be there for my boys. i didnt want them to be alone with some stranger in their final moments.#but now i live on. carrying the knowledge of what they looked and felt like in death.#it's odd being a cat lover and having cat related trauma. im making sure it doesnt get in the way of me properly caring for my cats #i may hate the fucking vet and want to curl up in a ball when i think about the animal hospital #but if they have a problem. i have to go. i Have to go. and i have to bring them whether they want it or not.#i just... hope that i can avoid any catastrophic animal hospital visits for at least a few more years...#cassy died one year and nine months after sammy did. almost exactly.#it was enough time for me to start to heal from the sammy trauma. only to get torn right the fuck back down.#i'll heal again. i know i will. but i feel like it's gonna take even longer.#it hasnt even been a month since cassy died. even with a new cat i dont know what im doing half the time.#but i will keep moving on. ive learned from my mistakes. ive resolved to make the future better & i try not to think about my guilt #i try not to think about the fact that cassy wasnt even 2 years old. he shouldve had a much longer life #and a simple oversight of mine ultimately killed him. both tally and june bug are vaccinated for it though. thank god.#idk why it's not mandated by shelters. feline leukemia has a 95% death rate apparently. and so preventable...

Y’all would not fucking believe the day I have had.

#haven’t gotten real hard sleep in a couple days #traveling is all fun and games until your flight gets cancelled at 2 am and you have to stay in the airport for hours until the next flight #and it gets even better when said flight involves two connections that put you where you’re supposed to go at 5 o’clock the next afternoon #lemme tell you I had plenty of time to catch up on some artist’s catalogs and organize my IWTV watchlist #OH AND DON’T FORGET the bag they lost because of course it’s lost and not eating at the airport because I’m too tired to feel hungry #did I mention they moved my gate to the absolute fucking farthest possible one?#I looked like goddamn Leonardo DeCaprio in the Revenant trekking over there at 3 am #nothing quite like bugging your eyes out of your skull for fear of falling asleep and missing your flight #all while some bald tatted up dude stares at you and a guy asleep on the floor snores like the busted engine that cancelled my flight

ok genuinely scared bc we're at ep 10/24 of stay with me and the "main conflict" that was in addicted - finding out that gu hai and bai luo yin (su yu and wu bi in the case of stay with me) are step brothers and getting over all of that - has already occured and been resolved - so whattttt lies in store ahead now oh my god.

anyway regardless of that ep 9 and 10 were so!!! warm and heartfelt and sooooo so GOOD. lovely stuff.

#god i LOVE this show so so SO much cant WAIT for ep 11 and 12 tomorrow.#also yes i will be giffing ep 10 and 11 of his man 2 and eps 9 10 11 and 12 of stay with me over this weekend (mostly sunday)#bc today i'm having a break and tomorrow i've got to sort my entire work closet out its a MESS #now that summer holidays are here and if i dont do it it'll bug me so the sooner i do it the better #i need to put all my work clothes away and bring forward all my holiday clothes and that's gonna take atleast 6 hours #bc theres so much shit i need to sort through i have too many clothes for my own good ... siiigh.#i mean this is a habit of mine i do this every winter and summer holiday every year but ugh its SUCH a chore man .....#faiza talks
