NORTH AMERICAN WHEEL BUGS! I was graced with the presence of three separate specimens while I was walking around a nature area outside of my local natural history museum, and extra graced by finding one mid-meal! You can tell that these aren't adults because they don't have their "wheel" yet!

There he stood, shaky hands clutching onto a good sum of rupees as for a bundle of bananas. But now that he was here, it all felt too real. Was Beedle really second guessing himself now? He should be on his way to Akkala.” The novice nodded. “Anything else I'd need to know?” Beedle dug into a pocket, producing a small pouch. “I'm... willing to pay extra, if you were to get me something from Horace's possession.” “What is it?” “A beetle.”

“You serious?” The novice asked, professional demeanor and posture gone. “Dead serious.” Beedle confirmed, now firmer on his conviction. “Look, man, I get it, but-” “Listen! It's a Stagnox beetle!” “A WHAT? Aren't those from like three kingdoms over?” “They are!” Beedle said, barely able to contain his growing excitement. “Super rare. They don't come close to Hyrules green pastures!” “It's not even their breeding season!” “I know right? I'd give anything to see one, but that jerk wouldn't let me have a peek!” The novice let an indignant gasp, before he readied his weapon. “Yeah, no, okay, I'll get you that bug. That one's on me!” Beedle's eyes shimmered in awe, whispering a quiet “Thank you” as the novice stomped off to find his target.

I follow a lot of insect themed accounts cuz I adore the little buddies (why I named myself Cricket lol) and I always comment my love of them and how I think they’re adorable

There’s def tons of people that reply and agree and appreciate the bugs, but there’s always a FLOOD of people after a few days of lovely comments that are so fucking weird and spiteful for no reason??🥲

Like obviously this happens with everything but it’s been happening to me so frequently that I’m like why do y’all seek out these videos when you know already you don’t like insects🥲

So many people the past 2 days have told me they are coming up with ways to kill every insect they see in as cruel of a way as possible just because I said I like them

Some guy even compared me to a serial killer sympathizer because fire ants attacked him once??? And he was not joking like he was a teen so whatever use the argument his mind isn’t fully developed or whatever but like…?? You’re way too old to be acting like this and have this ignorant of a stance on fucking wild creatures in their own habitat in nature🥲🥲

Like obvious it’s 100% okay to not like insects for whatever reason, like they scare you or you’re grossed out or they’re annoying whatever, but why do so many people harass us that like bugs??

Like I know it def has to do with my autism and autism insects being my special interest, but like why would you waste both of our time like that in harassing me over a simple pleasure I have in life?

It kills me so much cuz people recently did this on a comment I made saying someone’s pet Goliath beetle was so cute and people were commenting these horrible things under my comment on the video of their pet!!!

Like if people did this for a video of someone’s dog they’d be seen as psychotic assholes but because people misunderstand bugs and people that like bugs it’s seen as okay and normal to do??

People are so gross I hate it ://

It reminds me of people that hate cats for no reason or have some stupid excuse where it just shows they don’t respect animals or even other people’s boundaries :^(

The Creobroter gemmatus or its common name jewled flower mantis is native to asia. they live up to about 9 months in captivity. The females of this species can be cannibalistic But the males are fairly communal. For more info on this bug please vist the link below!

Say hello to the Dimorphic Jumping Spider, or Maevia inclemens! These guys get their name because the males will typically have one of two body patterns, which each have their own courting displays.

This particular spider is a female, which you can determine because of her big orange stripes that go down the sides of her abdomen!

As for the males, here are their two morphs:

On the left is the dark, "tufted" morph male, and on the right is the grey morph!

These two morphs were originally thought to be different species because their behavior was so different, but interestingly enough females will receive both types similarly.

In the video below, you can watch a dark morph male doing his courting display where he will stand on his 3 hind pairs of legs and wave his front arms around.

Compare that to the next video, which shows a grey morph male doing his courtship! He crawls low to the ground and taps his 2 front pairs of legs in front of him.

Interestingly, while females don't tend to have a preference between morphs, they do prefer larger tufted males (compared to smaller tufted males) and smaller grey males (compared to larger grey males) (Busso & Rabosky, 2016).
