Hello to the Buddyfight fandom it's been a hot minute but god do i miss this show and have been making fanart for it in the background so i thought i'd post to tumblr too ^^

I swear every year I end up coming back to this show and wishing that it kept going, that it got rebooted, that i could just erase my memories of this show and just watch it all over again from the beginning to enjoy everything once again from Tasuku's own sense of justice twisting against him to Gao's suffering of PTSD and how heartfelt it was handled.

There's something very special about this show that I haven't been able to find replicated elsewhere. It has the most perfect world to exist (so much so that i'd love to be isekai'd into it if i could!!!) and while i have my own gripes with it (hi S3+) i honestly sometimes wish i could go back to my high school years of watching this show just to relive it all again :'D

Anyways!!! I hope there's still people out there who enjoy this show even ten years later who'll like seeing new funny artwork for it!

I wanna add too that i'm hoping to create a rewrite of FCBF (ft. seasons 1-3 + Ace) or at least create more artwork for my interpretation of it and its world!

Because, sincerely, this show is one of the few that, for all its flaws, hasn't disappointed me in the years that've followed unlike many other things i've seen and i wanna try to keep the spirit of it alive while I can thanks to that. And if there are any fans still in existence who love it, i wanna provide some food while its once again in my orbit because damn do i adore this show <3 <3 <#

we’re starting this with a voiceover because i say so. draft here “future card buddyfight is a game that connects to parallel universes and allows monsters and humans to become buddies. in the wake of global events that have shattered his reputation, Gaen Kyoya decides to restart his cult by starting an (apparently) harmless idol management agency. By traveling to other worlds on a universal tour, will his newly formed idol groups be able to compete with the local talent? Will Gaen Kyoya be able to regain his reputation as a heartthrob? Most importantly, will the press-ganged idols ever get to play Buddyfight again? an earth-shattering screech is heard from the Gaen Tower. “Daddy always told me I’d be a star!”

Gaen Kyoya gives Shido Magoroku a strained smile. He’s in it to win it whatever the game. It’s too late to back out now, although he absolutely regrets - regrets, not deserves this.

rouga is doing the voiceover. this is disaster, the world tour movie. we’re gonna keep that secret till the end of the fic. (publishes this draft instantly and fails to keep any secret) whatever movies are announced anyway and it’s more fun to hype this up.

tasuku is not in an idol group as far as i have surmised from a quick scan- over. so he’s just going to show up to every performance and laugh at them. bro finally got to catch a break (and a good laugh)

Some messy Buddyfight sketches…

Oh god, I have been sick lately that’s why my Holy Chronicle manga scanlation have been slowed down for a while. In 2018 I created one Buddyfight AU based on RPG and open world stuff (inspired with different indie adventure games + Final Fantasy). I notice that some of AU characters resemble of Egyptian Gods by vibes they have. When I was making the sketch, I thought “Oh god, this is Seth (Gara) and Anubis (Rouga)”. I created Rouga background on the last week. He is the leader of the tribe, which travels Ancient World Dragon (their city was found on Jaeger’s back). His design was inspired with this tribal stuff. Also, I assume, jackal and wolf are from the same family tree I guess… Gara’s design was inspired from Egyptian prince and Arabic assassin. He is searching for a vessel, which can awaken his hidden “dragon force” power. Also, different regions are based on Special Flags from Buddyfight. Arabic region is based on Dragon Zwei because Azi Dahaka is a demon from Eastern mythology. This AU also has Japanese/Chinese region based on Parade of 100 demons

Subaru quickly rose thru the ranks , being able to easly get thru collage and grad school with ease. Since he was able to get everything done quite quick ,he ended up goin thru a ton of internships and gigs , untill he found his calling as a collage professor and lecturer, thanks to lights suggestion

MY GOD I REMEMBER THAT, ok, after the events of the fer.al server a new development came through and you will not Believe What happened but basically the admin of that server was a trans chaser groomer and the only reason why I got invited there was because I id'd as a trans man at the time and he was hellbent in getting to me, even tried to steal my IP, I don't know what happened but I think he fought really bad with the admin of that server and ended up getting kicked, it rebranded to some panda-themed thing for a bit THEN hackers took over and it became a doxxing services pit, WILD stuff

Card game anime always talk about friendship and bonds or the power of love if it is so inclined

Kwami's are basically like Dragods/Omni Lords, so they can easily be fitted into a game like Buddyfight.

The rotating cast of Buddyfight would be ideal for the Miracuclass, and there are even villainous children.

this has a backstory, actually. so, back when ace was still ongoing, my friend and i made headcannons about what professions the characters would take when they're older. we hc'd that miko would be a michelin star chef (u go girl) and would sometimes use alcohol in her food to make it taste more errr vibrant and expensive, for the lack of better words. and then it sparked an idea in my head which was to hc the characters' alcohol tolerance levels if they ever drank when they grew up 😭😭 hence miko being a michelin star chef in the fic and the characters being ooc + drunk + extra chaotic (you're welcome)

as for the actual writing process... i was actually still in my little writers' block and was searching through my phone for inspo which made me miraculously stumble upon my friend and i's old messages lol. and if u couple it with the fact that i was like..... half delirious from sleepiness, it'll probably explain why the fic was so uncharacteristically chaotic and messy HAHDAHHA (it was really fun to write though! it lifted a weight off my chest, plus i got a big enthusiastic thumbs up from the same friend when i sent the fic to her so that's a win)

also, cuz i can't help myself, i'm gng to post the hcs of the characters' future professions + their alcohol tolerance level separately cuz i thnk the world should know what goes on in my hc-infested head huheuehhauehe

Buddyfight AU…

Gleipnir region is based on Maya and Asgard (Monster Hunter and Zelda inspired me). There are different tribes which found their homes on the the ancient dragon’s back (Duel Jaeger). They travel around the world by sea and hunt different giant monsters when they make trouble

Rouga - 1 of 4 Rulers of AU Regions. Guardian of the Omni emblem. Was born with Cerberus spirit who always guards him. Current goal is to make his tribe the first and the strongest. Very severe during trainings but has big heart.

Kiri - one of the Great Advisers. He is the youngest and the weakest of them but he tries his best to become stronger (not enough). He has great knowledges about history (hides his true age). Has water dragon’s spirit powers. Always cheers for Rouga and believes him

Kaido - best hunter in the tribe who rides Jaeger, the Ancient Dragon. He hunts different monsters to collect ingredients for food

i used to have a SU × buddyfight AU where the version of steven just said "fuck it. We game" and wanted nothing to do with his gem side and just wanted to cardfight .. good times .

(I eventually merged him into my gem story since the design was wildly different , but his story now is for another account ofc)

I wanna sketch out the concept from back then so ill be crosspostin ig

But in more random news , ace binge today! Ill prolly work on hybrids while watching and screenshot shit
