when i said this, i was referring to this
--
Of course it’d be the one time you say yes to the many invitations you get from Hinata to celebrate a post-game win with his teammates and other close friends.
Even though you’ve met a handful of Hinata’s volleyball friends and teammates before, the prospect of being in an enclosed space with people you don’t know still makes you anxious. You pay a bit closer attention to your outfit before heading out.
A 15-minute commute and one deep breath at the door later, you’re sat next to Hinata at the table as he introduces you to the rest of his current Black Jackals teammates.
“You know Kageyama and my old high school teammates already. That’s Bokuto-”
“Hey!”
“That’s Sakusa-san,”
A silent nod.
“Hoshiumi-san,”
“Hello.”
“And Miya Atsumu-kun, our setter.”
“Hi,” you nod shyly to everyone. The immediate halt in the conversation leaves you feeling like you need to bust out a joke or something. Luckily, everyone quickly turns their attention back to the menu, leaving you to catch your breath even though all you’ve done was say a one-syllable greeting.
You spend much of the first half of dinner talking only to Hinata, racking your brain for topics for small talk, and speaking up only when you’ve been talked to first.
A few drinks help loosen you up a bit and dinner ends without a hitch before the group decides to move to a nearby bar.
You’re content to watch the group and their antics quietly, before excusing yourself to get another drink at the bar.
“‘Scuse me.”
“”Oh,” you say, shying away from the voice. “I’ll move over.”
“Thanks,” the unfamiliar voice responds.
You stand awkwardly at the bar as you and the stranger try to flag down the bartender. You feel the prickly sensation of a stare at the side of your face and when you glance over, you find the stranger’s gaze on you.
You give him an uncomfortable smile, before averting your eyes again.
“Busy night, huh?”
You glance at him again, giving him one nod of acknowledgement.
“What’cha drinking?”
“Oh, uh… just a beer, I think.”
“Yeah? What kind?”
“Uh… I don’t know. Just whatever,” you say, hoping he takes the hint.
“Can I make a suggestion then? What do you usually like to drink?” You glance back towards your group and accidentally make eye contact with Miya Atsumu, the setter you had met at dinner. He looks away just as quickly.
You close your eyes in defeat before turning back to the bar, being careful not to make eye contact with the man beside you. “No, I’m okay. Thank you, though.”
He inches closer, arm almost touching yours now. “Aww, c’mon. Just tell me. It’ll be on me.”
You lean further away, the back of your thighs now pressing against the bar chair behind you. “I-”
“Hey! Gettin’ another drink?”
The said bar chair suddenly gets yanked away, leaving you stumbling back a few steps, but a hand comes up on your shoulder to steady you. You look up to see Miya Atsumu. He places one arm between you and the other man, angling his body to face you.
“Oh! Atsumu. Yes, I am,” you can’t contain the relief in your exhale.
You notice Atsumu inching backwards to give you more space and simultaneously box out the other guy. His back pushes into the other guy’s arm, who gives a weak protest.
Atsumu looks behind him and offers a flippant, “sorry, buddy,” before flagging the bartender down with no issues.
“Another beer for me and…” Atsumu looks to you.
“Make it two.”
The two of you stand side by side while the bartender fills up the mugs and you rack your brain for things to say.
“Sorry if I was bein’ a busybody,” Atsumu speaks first. “Just didn’t look like you were enjoyin’ it.”
He juts a thumb behind his back to gesture at the guy, now a distance away.
“Oh yeah- I mean, no. Uh, thanks. Yeah…”
Atsumu laughs. “No worries and… there’s no need to be nervous around the guys. We’re a rowdy bunch, but all good people, I promise.”
You pick at your fingers. “Was I that obvious?”
“Little bit,” he chuckles. “Seems that the drinks are loosenin’ you up a bit though.” He gestures at the glass that the bartender dropped off in front of him and hands his card over.
“I can pay…”
“Nah, on me. You can take the next one if you feel bad.”
You thank him and take the glass.
Atsumu sits down on one of the bar chairs facing you. “So, how do you know Shoyo-kun?”
Still standing, your eyes flicker to your group, still huddled around the same table where you left them.
“Are…” we not going back? The question dies on your tongue when you turn back to Atsumu and see the way he stares, eyebrows raised as if he knows what you’re thinking and curious as to what decision you’ll make.
You sit down in the bar chair next to him and he’s so easy to talk to and one thing leads to another and before you know it, you end up in his bed later that night.
–
You wake up the next morning with foreign sheets tangled around your legs and an unfamiliar body warmth under your cheek. When you tilt your head up, you're met with Atsumu’s brown eyes. He’s awake and blinking lazily down at you, one arm still wrapped around your waist.
It’s instinct, the way you look back down, embarrassed at having been caught and shy despite the state of your undress.
A raspy chuckle shakes from his chest where you have one palm flat against as your brain awakens its overthinking engine.
You have no experience with hooking up with strangers, but he wouldn’t be looking for a no-strings attached type situation if he’s cuddling you in the morning, right? Or maybe you should’ve left last night?
But at the same time, isn’t poor etiquette to kick your partner out of bed the second you’re done? So maybe he’s just being polite by letting you crash here? And the cuddling, as comfortable as it is, is just him being a decent man?
“Hey,” his gentle voice shakes you from your thoughts, one finger coming below your chin to meet his eyes. “Good mornin’”
“Morning,” you mumble demurely, eyes desperately looking anywhere but him, even as he holds your face close.
He drops a light kiss on your lips. “Last night was great. You feelin’ okay?”
Your legs twitch in response. You belatedly realize that your legs are pushed between his. “A little sore, but I’m okay.”
“Good. Wanna take a shower and we can talk over breakfast?”
“‘Mkay.”
You reluctantly take your legs back, relishing the last bit of his body heat, but Atsumu has other ideas. In one sweeping motion, he flips his duvet off and tosses you over his shoulder.
“Atsumu!”
He gives your thighs a pat before walking you over to the bathroom. You thank every god out there that you had some sense to pull your panties and one of his shirts on before passing out.
He drops you off on the toilet seat. “Use anything you want. Fresh towels are in that drawer. There should be a new toothbrush under the sink.”
“I could’ve walked myself.”
He presses another kiss to your lips, the contact making you realize you’ve been pouting. “I know. Take your time, darlin’.”
You make sure the door clicks shut behind him before you grab a fresh towel, hold it tight against your face and scream into the abyss.
–
A hot shower revives you. The ache between your legs stays but the hot water helped, so you wobble your way to the kitchen. Two plates of toast and eggs sit on the dining table already as you watch Atsumu fill up a glass of water. When he sees you, he gestures for you to sit.
“Hey, how was the shower?”
You give your own body a once over before frowning at him. “I could’ve worn my clothes from yesterday.”
A clean t-shirt was sitting folded for you on the toilet seat when you came out of the shower, so that’s all you were wearing over yesterday’s underwear.
“And can you put on a shirt?” you add.
He grins. You’re already getting used to seeing that expression on him. “Why? Am I distractin’ you? And in case you forgot, you spilled water all over yourself at the bar yesterday, so your clothes are still wet.”
“We should’ve put them in the dryer or at least hung them up last night…”
He walks over to you and pulls you towards the dining table. You let him coax you into a chair. “Well, we were a bit preoccupied when we got inside, yeah?”
“Whatever…” you deflect, jabbing at the scrambled eggs on your plate.
“So…” he starts, after putting the dishes in the sink and refusing your attempts to clean up. “About last night.”
You tense up, clenching your fists.
“I had a really good time and I really enjoyed talking to you.”
Enjoyed, past tense. A part of you relaxes. At least you know the general direction he wanted to take this in.
“Me too,” you respond.
“And I don’t wanna give you the wrong idea, but I’m not looking for a committed relationship right now. I need to focus on volleyball and I mean, you’re Shoyo-kun’s friend, so I don’t want that to be weird either.”
You nod. “I get it.”
He looks startled at your easy response. “Really?”
“Yeah. I really enjoyed talking to you too, but I’m not expecting us to start dating or anything.”
He blinks.
“Why do you look so surprised?” you ask, wondering if you should be offended by the reaction.
“It’s not that I’m surprised. Well,I guess I am a bit. You don’t really seem like the type who’s used to casual hook ups.”
“Excuse me?”
“I just mean-”
You laugh. “I know what you mean. I’m just playing with you.” He relaxes a bit. “You’re right. I don’t really do this,” you gesture between the two of you, “often. But like you said, I think we both really enjoyed each others’ company and we can leave it at that.”
“Okay, then.”
“Yep.”
An awkward breath passes before he speaks up again. “I hung your clothes up to dry earlier this morning. They should be good now.”
You’re not positive that he means it this way, but you take the hint anyway. “Thanks. I’ll get changed and get going.”
He gets up after you. “Can I walk you back?”
You put a hand out to keep some distance between you two. “Atsumu. I think I can manage.”
He smiles, unsure, but nods anyway.
At the door, he opens his arms and you file in robotically, giving him a loose hug before saying goodbye.
You feel slightly bad at the obvious distance you were putting between the two of you, and you’re sure Atsumu can pick up on it, but it’d be far better to make things a little awkward than to let him get any closer than he already has in just one night.
–
It takes another afterparty hosted by Hinata for you to see him again. You had kind of figured that the unspoken rule was that if neither of you reached out, it really meant nothing. Even though the two of you never exchanged numbers or social media, you’d be lying if you didn’t have a little hope that he’d ask someone for your social and DM you. But days, weeks, went by with your messages and DMs dry, so you packed up your foolish hopes and chucked them to the furthest corner of your brain.
This time, the gathering is hosted at Bokuto’s beautiful lofty apartment, fully furnished with a modern kitchen, balcony overlooking Tokyo, and massive living area.
Even though you know pretty much all the attendees today, it doesn’t keep you from feeling a bit nauseous on the elevator ride up. Once again, at the front door, you raise your finger to press on the doorbell, pausing to take a deep breath before pushing the button.
When the door swings open, the loud chatter of the inside makes it clear that this was not the small gathering you were expecting. The apartment is packed with people, many of whom you don’t recognize.
“Hey! You made it!”
“Welcome to my place!”
Hinata and Bokuto, with one arm around each other, greet you loudly at the door.
You awkwardly push your gift of red bean mochi in front of you. “I’m so sorry… I thought it was going to be a small thing, so I only brought a pack of 12.”
Bokuto laughs heartily, plucking the gift from your hands. “This is great! Akaashi loves red bean mochi, so thanks! We’ll just keep it to our close friends instead of sharing it with the entire party,” he winks at you.
Hinata grabs your arm and ushers you to the kitchen area, which is slightly less packed than the living room and balcony. “Are you drinking tonight?”
“Yep, I’ll have something.”
He produces a can of beer and pops the tab for you.
“Lemme introduce you to some of the people here. You already know the usual Karasuno alum. You met most of my current BJ teammates last time. Oh, yeah,” he interrupts himself. “What happened to you last time by the way? We were all at the bar and then I don’t really remember seeing you go home at some point.”
Not seeing any particular reason to keep it a secret, you tell him about going home with his setter.
“Ah.” Hinata says.
“What?” you ask warily. “Maybe… has Atsumu asked about me?”
Hinata shakes his head. “No, not really?”
You scowl. “Then why’d you say ‘ah’ like that?”
“Did I? My bad!”
You roll your eyes, having momentarily forgotten that your friend hardly thinks about much else other than volleyball.
He introduces you to some other people, mostly other volleyball players before dropping you off at the kitchen since you said you needed another drink.
“You sure you’re going to be alright on your own?”
You try to smile reassuringly. “I’ll be fine. Go have fun.”
He leaves, so you busy yourself rummaging through the fridge for another drink. When you find nothing of interest, you look around the room, eyeing what people have in their drinks. The longer you spend looking around without a drink in your hand and in your own company in the crowded room, the more you feel out of place. With that, you grab the first unopened drink on the counter and snake your way through the crowd in search of a familiar face.
And it just so happens that the first familiar face you find is Atsumu.
“Hey, stranger,” he says easily to you.
“I’m not the one who’s a stranger,” you blurt out the first quippy line you could think of.
His eyes widen. “What-”
“It’s just a joke.” you cut him off. “I didn’t mean it in any special way.”
He doesn’t buy it, expression sobering up quickly. “Didn’t sound like a joke to me.”
You scramble for words, your social anxiety not helping. “I really just blurted out the first thing that came to mind. You know I get really nervous at these group things…”
He stares at you. A couple of seconds go by and you contemplate just turning around and walking away to mourn your social ineptitude somewhere private. But Atsumu breaks out in a small smile.
“You were pretty nervous at that time, huh?”
“Exactly!” you eagerly add on. “Atsumu, I really didn’t mean anything by it.”
“I believe you. But…”
You stiffen.
“Wouldn’t blame you if you meant it in a special way. I hear I’m pretty unforgettable.”
You punch him in the arm.
He laughs good-naturedly and offers a crooked arm. “Another drink?”
You look down to see your bottle empty. You take his arm and let him lead you to another drink which turns into four.
Atsumu’s presence is massive and it makes meeting new people easier. He introduces you (as Hinata’s childhood friend, of course) to new people, resting a heavy arm over your shoulder as he gets more drinks in his system.
The gesture doesn’t alarm you. After all, men who are interested in someone would put an arm around your waist, right? Friends do shoulders, just like how Hintata and Bokuto had greeted you at the door.
But just like last time, he melts your worries away and before long, the two of you are giggling into each others lips and sneaking out to go do something other than talk.
–
And it happens again, and again, and again. Before you know it, every single dinner, afterparty, night out becomes an opportunity for the two of you to get together. You always somehow find yourselves all alone where you always talk for hours and enjoy each others’ company too much, and fail to resist the temptation of falling into bed together. And each morning, you wake up, act like lovers until breakfast, before parting ways to radio silence until the next time.
Your mutual count of offenses gets into the double digits before you really realize you’re in hot water.
–
The next time it happens, it’s when Hinata invites you to watch an official game. You show up wearing a plain black top to show your support for the Jackals. As you settle into the seats Hinata offers up to you and some ex-teammates, he spots your group and gives you his usual sunny smile.
The rest of his team notices you and now that you’ve met them a couple of times, a natural smile comes easier when you meet each of their eyes. When your gaze finally falls upon Atsumu, he gives you a silly grin, not unlike the one you’re getting used to seeing over breakfast, and holds his fingers up in a corny heart. You roll your eyes playfully and he clutches his heart dramatically in response.
A giggle escapes your lips, keeping a ghost of a smile on your lips until Tsukishima, who decided to join you to watch the game, catches you with one eyebrow raised.
“What?” you ask defensively.
“Nothing.”
From there, you make sure to keep your expressions reigned in. Sure, your eyes may follow him a bit more than any other player, but that’s not something to read into. He’s the setter, after all. They touch the ball the most so it only makes sense that anyone watching the game would watch him the most.
The Jackals end up losing in the close third set. You meet the players outside afterwards to tell them it was a great game and when the group emerges, it’s sans the setter. Mustering up a reassuring smile, you give each one of them a hug before sneaking away back to the gym to check up on the one you’re most concerned about.
After your first hookup with Atsumu, he had told you that volleyball was the reason he couldn’t be in a committed relationship at the moment. To anyone, that would have sounded like an excuse. But after getting to know him more, you could tell he really meant it. So it’s not a surprise to you when you find him still on the court, practicing serves even when his eyes are rimmed red.
“Atsumu,” you call out.
He jumps and slams another serve, as if he hadn’t heard you.
“Atsumu,” you say a bit louder.
You step closer and closer, taking tentative steps until you’re right behind him. As he picks up another ball, you put your hand on his arm to stop him.
“Atsumu,” you say softly.
He doesn’t shake you off so you take the chance to pry the ball out of his hand, letting it bounce to the ground as you circle around to face him. His eyes stayed glued to the floor, fists clenched. You bring your fingers to his, lightly uncurling them from where they make angry crescent imprints in his palm. When his hands relent, you let them fall limply back to his side before pulling him in for a hug. It only takes one second of hesitation before he returns the embrace fiercely, crushing you against him. You swear you can feel a dampness on your shoulder that isn’t sweat.
“You need to rest,’ you whisper.
He nods, letting you guide him home, where something in him seems to snap. His hands and lips are all over you even in the hallway of his buildings and it leaves you with barely enough sanity to dig his keys out of his gym bag to unlock the door before he takes you against the door, on his couch, and one last time in bed. Maybe you imagined the “thank you” he whispers to you before you pass out cold.
It’s sometime in the middle of the night when you come to, somewhere between awake and asleep. You stir to the sensation of Atsumu’s fingers brushing against the crown of your head.
“Hey sleepy,” you hear him murmur.
You hear yourself make some incoherent noise, curling your body closer into the warmth of his body.
“You awake?”
“No.”
He chuckles. “Up for another round?”
“‘Tsumu… I’m tired.”
“I like you calling me that.”
You open one eye. “‘Tsumu?”
“Yeah,” he says before leaning down and kissing you. It’s not a close lipped, innocent kiss that he often gives you the morning after. It’s languid but still urgent. You can feel your reservations slipping away. He slips a warm palm under your shirt and as he ghosts over your stomach, ribcage, then higher.
There’s something intensely intimate about the way he touches you tonight: his forehead pressed to yours, vocal in the way he insists that you keep your eyes open. That intimacy fills your insides with something warm, and at the same time, dangerously hot. It trips some sort of alarm in your mind, but all your reservations fly out the window as he starts to move. You can’t think.
Definitely not when he keeps kissing you up until the moment you fall asleep and you fade away to the feeling of his lips pressed to yours.
–
For one of the first times ever, you wake up dreading the morning-after routine with Atsumu. Because this one feels different. The way he says good morning with a lazy smile, the way he strokes your forehead, the way he stares when you stretch, the way he carries you like a princess to the bathroom.
By the time it’s time for you to make your exit, you’re convinced he feels it too. His stares linger too long, too hot to be casual. He says goodbye with a longing that is hard for even you, in all your inexperience, to ignore.
And you have to know.
You turn back right as you’re leaving. “Atsumu.”
“What happened to ‘Tsumu?” he teases.
“Can I come watch your next game?”
“Hm? ‘Course you can. Shoyo-kun usually gets you tickets right?”
You test the waters: something subtle but gets the message across.
“Would it be okay if I wore your jersey?”
His laughing stops abruptly.
If he laughs it off and makes a joke about you joining his army of fans, you’d take the hint. This would still be casual and you’d need to re-rectify your barriers. But if by chance…
He looks at you for a long, excruciating moment, before offering a small, shuttered smile.
You tense up. It’s not the answer you wanted, but you always knew there was a chance this would happen anyway. You’re just grateful you waited until it was time to leave before bringing it up.
“No… I don’t think you should.”
That takes you by surprise.
“I mean, I don’t want our friends to think that-”
“That what?” you bite back with a bit more aggression that you wanted.
Atsumu stands up straight from where he was leaning lazily in the doorway. A quiet, but stern calling of your name snaps you out of whatever reverie you’ve been in for the past couple of months. “I thought we both agreed that this was a casual thing. It goes without saying that I don’t want our friends to think we’re together. That would only complicate things.”
Complicate? You want to scoff. As if being the outlet for his frustration last night wasn’t complicating things already. As if every kiss and touch from just a couple hours ago wasn’t complicating everything.
But, you take a breath, composing yourself.
“Right, sorry. I just wanted to… let you know I’m here for you. Like last night.” you bite out.
He winces slightly.
“See you around, Atsumu.”
He doesn’t stop you when you walk off. In fact, everything remains the same. No texts, no calls, no messages.

Ethereal

Josh kiszka x fem reader
He wants you until it starts to become a serious relationship. He’s found excuse after excuse not to make you his and you’ve had just about enough.
Warnings: (language, fighting, crying, smoking, drinking, friends with benefits, drunk and angry Josh, unprotected sex, overstimulation, f dom, vulgar language, subby Josh, and I believe that’s all)
AN: This might be my last fanfic for a while. I’ve been getting pretty discouraged recently which I try not to do. I’ve been spending so much time writing but not getting much out of it. I know I struggle with grammar a little but I’m trying to get better. I’ll still be active on tumblr but I’ll be taking a break from writing. I hope you all understand <3
~
Ethereal: extremely delicate and light in a way that seems too perfect for this world
It was a warm summer night in the middle of June. You should be home in your bed or relaxed smoking a J. Instead you’re naked in cold hotel sheets. Josh is standing on the balcony smoking a cigarette. If his brothers knew you were tangled in his sheets they’d surely give him a lecture. It’s not that you’re bad for Josh. Truth be told you’re the only person they want Josh to get with. It’s just that he’s convinced himself he can’t handle a relationship. He loves to play pretend like you two are together until it gets too serious. He drags you along but refuses to settle down. It’s not fair to either of you. Therefore they try their best to pull you two apart. He’s absolutely crazy for you but what is stopping him from making it official? It’s no secret. Everybody knows his feelings for you. Even though he tries to hide it from the guys. Jake’s the only one who truly knows about your secrets in the dead of night. Although it’s not that hard to assume you’re sleeping with each other.
“Josh you can’t keep fucking her”
“What else am I supposed to do Jake?”
“I dunno maybe take her out on a fucking date”
“ I don’t date. I can’t date. I don’t do ‘domestication’ you know this. I haven’t dated since high school. There’s a reason”
“And she’s about the only girl you’ve had sex with since high school. How do you think she feels being drug around from city to city for your pleasure?”
“My god don’t say it like that. She knows I cant settle down with her”
“She’s okay with being your fuck buddy even though you’re both hopelessly in love with each other? No Josh shes not. She tells you that so she doesn’t have to lose you”
“That’s not tru-”
“I’ve talked to her myself. She can’t wait forever and you’re going to continue to take advantage of her until she finds another. Then what are you gonna do?”
“She didn’t tell you that don’t you lie to me”
“Who cares what she said or didn’t. What are you gonna do when you lose her Josh? That’s what’s important right now”
Truthfully you can never see yourself moving on from him. Is it unhealthy? Absolutely. You both play pretend and act like best friends. Around the others it looks like nothing more than platonic feelings. They know better and so do the both of you. Except let the word ‘relationship’ get thrown around and Josh panics. As much as you try you just can’t understand. Why is he throwing you away? You’ve traveled the word to stay by his side. You take care of him better than anyone. You cook elaborate meals for him, you calm him down when he’s frantic, and you fuck him like a porn star. Any other guy would have jumped at the opportunity. Including his brothers but here you are waiting hand and foot for him.
“Josh?”
He’s sliding back the balcony door and walking towards the bed. He sits with his back facing you. “Yeah?”
“I bought a plane ticket back home”
“What why?”
He’s facing you now, hairs a wreck, and his eyes are bulged.
“Because I’m done Josh. I’m done being your fuck buddy, I’m done traveling city to city on a maybe, and I’m done with the excuses. Obviously you don’t want me because if you did you would have made me yours by now”
“That’s not true y/n you have to understand-”
“I’m done trying to understand you Josh!” You’re frantically throwing your clothes on and shoving the rest in a suitcase.
“You can’t leave y/n! Come on this is crazy”
“Do you know what’s crazy Josh? Spending this long waiting for a man who won’t even hold my hand in front of his brothers”
“Y/n I explained it to you. Just put the bag down and we’ll talk”
“Talk about what Josh? About how you’re ‘not ready’ and you ‘can’t handle a relationship’. I can’t keep killing myself for you to love me. Why don’t you love me? Why Josh why?”
“I-”
“What can’t talk your way out of this one?”
“I do love you y/n”
“Well that’s fucking big of you huh?”
“Y/n!”
“Can you tell me right now? Tell me that you want this? You want us”
He’s stammering on his words and staring into your eyes. He can’t form a sentence even with your threat of leaving. You look at him in shock and throw your hands up in the air. “Well then I guess that’s it then?”
“No y/n I do want you please. Please just stay”
“Us! I want you to want us! You’ve made it more than obvious that you don’t”
“Y/n please” he looks like he’s about to cry but you don’t care. You can’t care.
You grab your suitcase and open the door. Hes gripping your arm and pleading with you. “Y/n please I’ll change. Just don’t go”
“Josh let me go”
“No! God damn it y/n listen to me! Please I-”
He’s hurting you with his strength of his grip. You even debate on if it will bruise. “Ouch Josh let go of me”
“Y/n I can’t do this without you”
“Then you should have fucking thought about that before you treated me like nothing more than a fuck buddy”
You pull away and shove a finger in his chest. “goodbye Josh”
You slammed the door and turned down the hall. He’s laid up against the door pulling his hair. “Fuck fuck fuck”
You make your way to the hotel lobbiy and spot Jake sitting at the bar. You try to not catch his attention but who are you kidding. He’s now laid eyes on you and is very concerned as he waves to you. “Well well well what do we have here?”
“You don’t have to lecture Josh anymore because it’s over”
“Over?”
“I’m catching a plane back home so”
“Well hold on now. Come sit and have a drink with me”
He pats the barstool next to him and you sigh but join him. You order a drink to calm your nerves. “Wanna tell me what happened?”
“No” you throw back a shot.
“Might make you feel better. Get it off your chest before you leave”
Jake hopes he knows you well enough to convince you to stay. He stays quiet for a while giving you time to think. Just as he wished you start to open up.
“I told him I was leaving and asked if he was serious about us. Do you know what he said?”
“Do I want to know?”
“He said nothing Jake!. He just stared at me with that stupid face and his stupid brown eyes” you shout louder than you meant.
He’s the only person at the bar that didn’t give you a look of disgust. He smiles telling you to tone it down and continues.
“I’m not saying forgive him but you know he doesn’t mean that right?”
“Really Jake?” You punch his arm. “Sorry”
“Hey!” He laughs at your weak attempt of a punch. “I didn’t mean it like that. I meant he’s fucking stupid. When you force him to deal with things that way he freaks. I don’t know why but he’s always been that way. There was a time when we were kids were he couldn’t function without me during school. I was always there to pull him out of situations and find a solution to whatever was wrong. Now he’s gotten a lot more independent from me but he still depends on me for a lot. Hence why I always got a phone call after you two got it on”
“He calls you after?”
“Usually to bitch and moan about how bad he wants you yes”
“Why does he have to be so complicated?”
“Because he’s Josh and he can’t do anything without a struggle”
You sigh “I’ve noticed”
“Has he ever told you about Brooklyn?”
“I’m gonna need a lot more shots for this huh?”
“Well don’t get wasted if you going home”
“I don’t know what to do”
“Well you’re always welcome to crash in my room if you just need a break. Or if your determined to leave I’ll pay for your ticket and drive you to the airport”
You sigh “I dunno just tell me about Brooklyn”
“Well Brooklyn was Josh’s first love. They were together for two years, lived together, and it seemed just perfect. He loved her like truly loved her and we all thought she did too. Well Josh came home early from Europe and found a guy sleeping in their bed. She claimed he was drunk and needed a place to crash. He knew it wasn’t true and thankfully he left. For the next year she would do everything she could to fuck with him. She’d call him shitfaced and try to get him back. She would come by my house and try to talk to him. It was borderline stalking and I had to basically threaten her to leave him alone. Eventually she gave up after she met some other guy. Well now your here and he’s fallen in love with you and he’s terrified”
“But doesn’t he know I’m not her?”
“That’s what I’ve been trying to get through to him”
“I would never hurt him like that! Never would I be so careless with his heart. He’s become everything to me. So much so that I feel like a part of me is missing when he’s not around. That’s stupid isn’t it?”
“Stupid because it’s my dumbass brother. But I never see you smile with your teeth unless you’re with him. Both of your eyes seem to glow together. You don’t look at anyone the way you look at him. You’re in way to deep to just up and go home”
“I love love him dont I?”
“If love love means you can’t leave tonight then yes”
“I’m not going anywhere but he can’t get away with acting this way”
“Here”
He hands you his debit card and room card “you can order food and drinks from the room and they will bring it up. Take your bags and go get shit faced and I’ll fix this okay?”
You both rise to your feet and you wrap around his neck. You two have never hugged before so he’s a little confused. Jake’s not the affection type but you could tell you needed this. He pats your back gently and hugs you tight until you let go. “Thank you Jake”
“Anything for my future in law”
You shower in Jake’s hotel room and wrap yourself in a robe. You ordered sushi and a martini and your stretched out in Jake’s bed. It’s a lot cleaner in here than you thought and it smells of Jake’s cologne. It’s comforting in a way. You and Jake have gotten pretty close over the years. He’s saved you from a lot of stressful situations. Either you’ve gotten too drunk and he’s holding back your hair or you’re freaking out over something small. He’s always there to step in when the other guys give you a hard time. He knows your Josh’s and because of that he’s very overprotective of you. He’s the first to punch a guy for being to friendly with you. You’ve always seen him as a protector which is why you always go to him when something’s wrong. Even if you’re not trying to seek him out he’s always there. Tonight is a perfect example of Jake’s savior tendencies.
“Open the door you prick”
“I’m not in the mood Jake”
“Guess who I ran into at the bar?”
“Oh fuck” he’s swinging open the door.
“She left”
“She actually left!” he gasp.
“Josh she’s gone why wouldn’t you stop her?”
He’s being mean but he’s trying to teach him a lesson. He doesn’t want to be this way but he knows how Josh works. This is the only way to get through to him. You fight stubborn by being stubborn.
“I tried she wouldn’t listen”
“She’s probably tired of listening to bullshit”
“Jake do you not remember what happened last time. Do you not remember how bad it was for me? My god why dont you two get it?”
“Y/n isn’t her. You can’t use that excuse anymore”
“It’s not an excuse it’s the truth!”
“Fuck Josh. She’s not gonna hurt you stop treating her like she is. You tiptoe around her like at any moment it’s going to turn south. What happened to ‘fuck fear’?”
“I didn’t mean for any of this to happen” he runs his hands through his tangles curls. “I really do love her she’s all I’ve ever wanted”
“I know in your heart you mean that but you fucked up big time. She truly doesn’t think you love her because of how you’ve been treating her”
“Did she say when she was flying out?”
“As your brother it’s too late for that Josh”
“Fuck”
“I would say I’m sorry but you did it to yourself”
“Jake I can’t lose her!”
He’s pacing like a madman and his curls are pointing every which way. His eyelashes wet from tears and his cheeks pink. “Maybe this is good. Maybe you need to give her space. If there’s one thing I do know it’s that she loves you”
“Is that supposed to help? She’s gone!”
“Josh” he puts his hand on his shoulder.
“What am I supposed to do?”
“Go smoke a joint and calm down. You can’t do anything to fix it tonight”
“I would fight you but I know you’re right”
Josh heads to the balcony to smoke a joint and probably order a drink or two or three …
Jake swipe his card he sighs, shutting the door behind him.
“Well don’t you look cozy?”
“How’d it go with dumbass?”
“I told him you left and he’s drowning in self pity”
“Jake! That’s so sad! I didn’t say hurt him!”
“Y/n he’s lead you on for a year and you’re six hours away from home because of him. He was going to let you fly home I stopped you remember?”
“Right”
“Uh yeah don’t be stupid. Sip your drink and forget about him for tonight”
“That’s kinda of hard when he’s across the hall”
“Yeah yeah”
He’s laying beside you on his tummy. He’s stealing your sushi and also ordered a drink. This is the hardest you’ve laughed in months. You love moments like this with him. Purely platonic love. He’s the only guy you know that has never tried to get with you even when he’s under the influence. He’s sams got a little too flirty with you all in good fun of course. You’re both pretty intoxicated and the tv is suddenly the funniest thing ever. Both of you laughing and point at the stupidest things. Even the commercials are funny. You’re pleased to hang out with Jake all night. Your fun slowly started to fade away. When out of nowhere You hear a door slam which is odd for two in the morning. Next there’s banging on the hotel door. He rushes to the door and looks through the peak hole. “Oh fuck it’s Josh”
He cracks the door to find a very drunk and very angry Josh. “I was g-going to finda snack. I-I know that laugh. Y-you you prick”
“Josh go back to your room”
“Fuck you! You’re s-shirtless! Did you two f-”
“What the hell no we didn’t! Josh shut up its two in the morning”
“Fuck you!” He shouts louder.
Sam opens the door next to Jake’s room. “Josh shut the hell up?”
“He got to drunk and he’s accusing me of sleeping with y/n”
“Y-you lied to me! She-shes in y-your room!”
“Josh I just got her content and here you come with your bullshit”
“What is happening?” Sam asked shyly.
“Y/n said she was leaving, I calmed her down, offered my room for her to stay, and I tried to teach him a lesson by telling him she left. We’ve just been drinking and watching tv that’s all. Before you showed up we were actually having a pretty good time”
“Yeah so y-you can f-fuck her!”
Sam rubs his face “Josh I’m telling you to fuck off. You are beyond stupid if you think he would do anything with y/n. Go away Josh”
“No no no I need her! I need her!” He tries to push them out of the way.
“Joshua!” They shove him back. He attempted to throw a punch but Jake shoved him making him stumble. He falls back onto his hard hotel door and now you’re angry. Angry because he’s whining for you after he gave you away. Most importantly angry because they’re being so rough with him.
“Josh” you’ve appeared behind Jake making them all jump. His eyes widen and his breath has slowed. “You are a fucking mess”
“I know y/n” he looks down.
You hold back your anger with Jake and Sam because you know they were trying to help. You disappear back into the bedroom. When you return you’ve got your sushi plate and your martini. “Come on”
“What?” He’s stumbling around the hallway. You wrap an arm around his waist to steady him.
“Thank you Jake. Goodnight Sam”
He turns to cuss out his brother “yeah goodnight and fuc-”
“Shut up and get in the room”
You awkwardly shuffle in the room and he takes a seat on the bed. Neither of you look at each other. You live in painful silence before speaking to him.
“I guess you do love me huh?”
“Yes I fucking love you y/n”
“I never bought a plan ticket I just needed to clear my head”
“You didn’t have t-to scare me so bad. I thought I lost you” he’s still struggling to get the words out correctly.
“Maybe that’s what you needed to figure your shit out. Oh and I know about Brooklyn”
“Oh fuck y/n I’m sorry I-”
“Look I get it Josh but that’s doesn’t excuse the way you treated me”
“I can make it up to you I promise. Please just-” it chokes out of him. “Please y/n”
That noise reminds you so much of when he’s on the edge. As much as you hate it it’s turned you on. You test the waters carefully knowing he’s still fragile.
“Breathe … Can you make it up to me?”
You step closer to him and slowly undo your robe. “Oh fuck. Like this?”
“Like what?” You stand in between his legs. Your nails rake his shoulders gently up and down. He tries hard for his gaze not to wander your body.
He closes his eyes instead, leaning into your touch “mhm feels good”
“How drunk are you?”
“I can get it up” he smiles at you.
“M’sorry I scared you but you have to understand”
“I understand and I deserved it”
“Yeah you kind of did. Hmm. I guess you’ve been bad huh?” Your voice low and seductive.
A sly grin appears on his face. He’s enjoying this a little too much already. “So bad mama”
No words spoken you just point to the pillows. He rushes to obey you. “Good boy”. You straddle his waist and feel him through his boxers.
“Mhmm” he closes his eyes.
“Gotta stay with me baby”
“I’m here I’m right here. What you gonna do to me darling?”
“What am I gonna do? I’m gonna ride you until I’m done with you. And you gonna be a good boy and fucking take it”
“Oh fuck baby” he whines but you’re having none of it.
“Shut up”
You’re ripping off his boxers and stripping off his shirt. “Touch me. My god touch me”
“Enough”. You laid a hard slap to the side of his thigh making him shiver. He bites his lip trying to be a good boy for you.
He’s hard. Insanely hard. He’s swollen, bright red, and his tip aggressively leaks of pre cum. “So hard huh Josh? Oh so pretty for me sweetheart. Does your cock hurt baby?”
You’re speaking so vulgar it’s killing him. Normally it’s Josh doing all the dirty talk as he rambles on. Now it’s you and he thinks he’s fallen for you even more. Well if he could think about anything besides your pussy right now.
“Hurts so bad mama. So fucking bad”. He looks down at his cock with burrowed eyebrows. “Hm so hard”
“So hard”
You’re unbelievably soaking wet and you fight to stay focused. You start to slide your clit on his cock. “You’re so wet mama” it grunts out him.
He reaches down to feel you but you swat his hand. “No touching”
“But-”
“Am I gonna have to shove these in your mouth or are you gonna be good?” You tease your panties at him before throwing them his way.
“I’m gonna be good! I’m gonna be so good. So patient”
“Good boy”
He lives for your approval and gentle praise. He moans out without you even touching him. In an instant you’re sliding him inside of you and sinking down. It burns as he stretches your walls when he’s all the way in you cry out. He grips the sheets and gasp loudly. “Shit” he hisses through his teeth. His voice sounds the farthest thing from pleasure. His eyes squeeze shut and a string of grunts and moans follow.
“Josh?”
“Baby I can’t-”
“Gonna cry for this pussy? Gonna fucking cry Joshua?”
“M’sorry. So so sorry”
He’s moaning far too loud to be in a hotel room. He’s pulling at the sheets then he balls his fist and bangs them down on the bed. You let him cum as you rock back and forth. He starts to calm but you don’t stop if anything you speed up. He gasp out and reaches for you hips. “Didn’t I say no touching?”
“Y/n! Fuck! Please!”
“Oh you poor pathetic thing. Look at you Josh. Such a mess for me already? Fucking destroyed”
“I can’t-” it barely croaks out of him as you fuck yourself on his cock.
“Do you need your safe word?”
He shakes his head and you slow down a little bit. “You gonna let me cum?”
“Fucking use me y/n!”. Tears start to fall from the crease in his eyes.
“There’s my boy. Don’t cry baby I know how overstimulated this dick must be huh?” You say leaning down to wipe his tears.
You throw your head back grinding hard on his throbbing cock. He’s watching you in awe as if you were the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen. Because you are. You’re getting close and he can feel you squeezing him. Reminding him he’s not far from another orgasm. “M’close”
“I know you’re squeezing my cock so tight baby. Hugging him so good”
“You’re not far behind are you sweet boy?”
“Mhm gonna cum. Gonna cum so fucking hard”
Without another word because you both can’t form one. It’s intense and nearly impossible how hard both of you are cumming. His release starts to leak out of your cunt. Dripping down to your thighs. Your core and legs shake with pleasure. You’ve got him whining and whimpering out. He sounds so pretty and so fucked out. The noises that flow from both of you is nothing but a pornographic daydream. It’s the only thing you can focus on anymore. A beautiful filthy angelic harmony that only you two can understand. As he starts to calm you wonder how much he’s got left. You should stop. You should roll over and lay next to him, catching your breath. Whisper sweet things to him and cuddle up on his warm body. But do you?
Your hips start to roll and he looks terrified. “Y/n you’re gonna kill me!”
“Gotta empty that cock baby. I want it all”
“You’ve got it all mama please”
“One more pretty boy. Can you be sweet and give me one more?”
He looks like he’s in pain but he nods “of course I can”
Such a sweet and innocent response. You can see pure euphoria shimmering in his eyes. He’s gone yet he still smiles up at you waiting on your command.
You’re bouncing up and down on him. His eyes start to roll but you order him to focus on you. Every move you make is followed by a whimper and his body is nearly limp.
“I-I can’t. My cock hurts mama” he cries.
“Yes you can Josh look at me” You grab his face in your hands “I’m almost there my love. Take it baby can you take it?”
“Mhm I-I … I can take it” he whispered. He’s got a steady stream of tears down his cheeks. He reaches out to touch you and you allow it. He’s squeezing your breast and gripping your hips. He’s a complete mess just like you wanted. He’s so so so crazy beautiful like this. Sweat drips from his curls, his cheeks pink as ever, and his eyes glossy with pleasure and pain. You’ve never seen something so beautiful. Beautiful is a complete understatement. He’s … Ethereal. He can’t be real. You hovering above him but he can’t be. He’s so soft and gentle you can hold him like water in your hands. Too fragile for this rough and crazy world. He’s an angel that must have fell down from the heavens. It must be true he can’t be human. It’s few and far between when things in this world are flawless. Yet he lays before you completely perfect. His body sculpted from the gods. His personality built and crafted from all the things that make him Josh. That make him perfect. Tears are failing from your own eyes. You realize now you love him with every bone in your body. Every time your heart beats it beats for him. Your lungs breathe for him. You think without him you would just crumple away into nothing. You live for him. You love him. Your angel so ethereal. So wonderful and full of life. Your baby. Sweet sweet Joshua.
Your Joshua
“Oh Josh” you cry “you’re so beautiful my love. I love you Josh please don’t leave”
“I’m right here” he squeezes your hand.
His voice strained by whimpers as he speaks so gently to you. “I love you y/n. My god I love you”
“I love you too J-”
Your name is all he knows as he repeats it over and over. Like a prayer seeping from his lips. He can’t even warn you that he’s tipped over the edge but you know. A borderline screams rips out of his lungs as you cries for you. A hand reaches over his mouth as you whisper to him.
“So loud for me baby boy. So good … so” you start to trail off. Your own orgasm crashing down over you. You’ve collapsed on top of him you wish to stay there but know his throbbing cock needs a break. “Josh?”
His body is twitching and shaking. You fear you might have been too much. When he turns to you with a weak smile you feel better. “I know it’s supposed to be a punishment but I’ve never been fucked so good”
You smile at him lazily “I love you stupid”
“I love you and my cock definitely loves you”
“Hold me?”
“I’ll hold you forever my sweet girl. As long you let me”
“Good thing too because I’m never letting go. Took long enough to get you”
“You’ve always had me. I’m gonna be better to you okay? I’m gonna love you the way I should have in the first place”
“Can you start by ordering more sushi?” You tease playfully knowing the restaurant lobby is far from open.
He laughs the way you love so damn much. You rest your head on his chest, immediately being clouded by tiredness. His eyes are closed and a faint smile is present on his face. “Maybe tomorrow m’so sleepy”
“Goodnight Josh” you whisper.
He whispers back “Goodnight sweet girl. Pretty girl. My girl”
“All yours”

I’ve been dreaming of a— HMMMMMM????
Request, you say????
“Anonymous asked: Request! Rise Donnie x reader that is smarter than him and teases him about it and he's furious about having a crush on them being 100% oblivious that reader already knows and feels the same way. From Donnie's POV. PLEASE and thank you!”
A/N: unfortunately, I can’t see any way that this would go well... If any writer wants to take this prompt and make a fluff version of this, have at thee! But I can only imagine this going one way….
-
Smarter. (A Oneshot) - Donatello x Reader
Warnings: Spoilers for Witch Town & Mind Meld, angst, hurt no comfort, Y/n misreads his feelings, Donnie is a protective father.
-
The science guy.
That was me.
I “dealt” with things. The “Bill Nye” comments, the teasing, the bantering, the loneliness, the hours of work into every, single, little project I made. I’ve hacked into every camera in NYC. I’ve created sentient machines, reprogrammed a useless movie vehicle to be the best in the world, I would say. Made bombs, robbed and reverse robbed banks, created rockets, bombs, ingenious battle devices, tech-bo, for christs sake! And so! Many! More! But…
Then, there was you.
Perfect, in absolutely every way. Mystic, science, physics, hell — you even beat me in banter, leaving me speechless nearly every time. And you rubbed it in my face. You were the Hamilton to my Aaron Burr. It didn’t help that you checked off all my boxes, Cute and mean, that was my type, and I wanted to bond with you, a fellow scientist who I didn’t have to dumb down my talk for, someone I could be myself around! but you… you made yourself impossible to tolerate. I admit I didn’t take it well, when I realized…
You were everything I wanted to be.
“Awww, is this Shelldon?” You scratched behind one of his many ears, making him trill in delight. “Ahhahawww thanks, dude! Yeah that’a me.” He responded, leaning into your touch. “He’s cute! What coolant do you take, buddy?” You asked, talking down to him like a child, the exact way Sheldon had always reprimanded me for.
“Donnie’s experimenting with different types,” Yes I am, “He’s trying Castrol Radicool Premix right now, it’s been doing good so far.” Thank you.
As expected, you inhale sharply through your teeth, making my attention pique from what I was trying to distract myself with. “Donnie really doesn’t take care of you, huh?”
…
What?
Me?
I don’t take care of Shelldon?
“Uhhh… I don’t know if that’s—“ I can’t bring myself to let him finish, already standing from my gaming chair. I turned on my heel, fury in my eyes as I rolled the seat out of the way, “Excuse me?”
You chuckled, and felt my blood boil, “Awh, Donnie, you’re blushing! Embarrassed?”
“Infuriated.” I answered.
“Oh come off it, I simply think you should try Ethylene Glycol, it would be so much better for winter.” I grit my teeth, every word from your sicky-sweet voice made my skin crawl. I would have attacked you right then and there if I didn’t know you had better tech. Hah, better tech… better than me? ME of all people? No.
I furrow my brows, “That was next on my list..” I seethe, feeling my nerves spike as you poked my shoulder. I hated when you did that, it made my face go red and my palms sweat. Curse this irony, it was like smiling at a joke from a person you’re mad at. It’s frustrating, but involuntary.
“C’mon, we both know you’re not really mad, you’re just frustrated cuz you like me. Look at that blushing nose~!” I felt my voice catch in my throat as you leaned into my face, wanting nothing more than to push you away already. My body was experiencing a freeze response, and I couldn’t even bring myself to push you, it was as if my bones were made of high-grade titanium, the same as my tech.
I clenched my fists, feeling a bit of my confidence return as Shelldon flew to my side. “I thought I was supposed to be the narcissist…” I hissed, feeling my face redden with anger. I’ve never hated anyone more.
Your face turns confused, but I can’t bring myself to realize you might have misunderstood my feelings, “You think you’re so great, don’t you?” Shelldon cowers, I know he hates when I raise my voice, so I lower to a furious whisper, “You think you can just waltz into my lab, my life, and tell me how to run things?” My nails dig into my palm, I resist the urge to threaten you, knowing your body would never be found beneath my hands.
“You think you’re the science guy, don’t you? Think you can correct everything I’ve worked so hard to achieve and just take my place!?” Make me worthless? Be the purple sibling? What next, re-wiring my systems? Taking scraps and making a dark matter accelerator? Drawing on eyebrows to a cheap version of my bandana!?
Your eyebrows knit, “woah, woah, Dondon, I didn’t mean—“ “Don’t fucking call me that!!” I seethe, feeling tears prick at my eyes, I hate how emotional I am when I’m angry, but I’m too deep in now. Some weak, soft shelled part of my heart is telling me to apologize, but I’ve always, always acted with my head. It’s telling me you’re a threat. And you are… aren’t you?
“I’m not a child!” I can feel my heartbeat, eyes wide and I take a deep breath to lower my voice. “And Y’know what, I think I finally found something I’m better at.” I fold my arms, watching a frown finally form on your face.
“Really?” You glared, matching my stiff body language.
“Yeah.” I huff, “Reading the room.”
“You? Read a room?” You scoffed, seeming just as offended, but I didn’t mind. “Ever think maybe, I did all these things — not to take your place, but to impress you?”
“Oh, you made an impression. Alright.” You… wanted to impress me? I turned my back to you, a small voice telling me that maybe, just maybe, I.. wasn’t acting with my head.. “A bad one.” Why am I so defensive? Why did all this get to me? Shelldon was uncomfortable, I was uncomfortable, hell, I bet my brothers could hear this! They’re probably uncomfortable! why couldn’t I be the bigger turtle and just move on?
“Just… leave..” I waved at the air, sinking into my seat with a little regret. Why was it, that around you, I was never enough? That I was just the small, weak soft shell who couldn’t play rough with his brothers? Who broke his glasses? Who practically wore a pillowcase for protection?
Why couldn’t I be cool for you? Why was I talked down to? I’ve accomplished so many things, why is it that nobody can ever look at me in awe!? Why am I always admiring someone else, and never being admired?
“…” the tension in the room began to dissipate, and I listened with baited breath as you closed the curtain behind you. I let out the sigh, and I hear Shelldon round the corner, landing his head on mine, “Well, that could’ve gone better…” he muttered, and I feel something strange as I look down at my workbench— grief? Guilt? Whatever it is, it stuck, no matter how badly I didn’t want to admit it.
“Yeah..” I mutter, twirling my screwdriver, “Yeah it could’ve.”
—
A/N: I feel like this might be a lil OOC, am I the only one who gets that vibe?? Idk I’m not really feeling this one, lmk what you guys think 😭 I guarantee another writer could best me at this prompt, and I offer it up to anyone interested! Hope this was ok, anon, really hope I didn’t wreck your day. —

helloo, i stumbled upon ur mha x scp au and AHDSIHDSGISDGJ UR WRITING??? IS SO GOOD?? (also im new here hi, can i be 🎭 anon) more mha x scp au pls /nf tho
hii 🎭 anon :) i get a lot of requests for this au haha, sure!
previous part here
AU where MC is transported into the MHA universe with a SCP-summoning quirk. essentially a MHA and SCP crossover. you can read the rest of the parts under the tag #pp mha au
(note: i have never watched or read mha in my life and all of my knowledge is from fanfics and lazily googled questions! sorry in advance for any mischaracterizations or anything that just... doesn't make any sense? lol)
-
You lean forward, nearly falling off of your chair in the process. Squinting your eyes into narrow lines, you focus on one, crucial objective:
Trying to figure out what the hell is sitting right in front of you.
He looks like a cat, sort of. He reminds you of Josie, or, well, 529, with his feline-esque features and all.
Oh, you really should summon Josie here again sometime. It's been quite a while since you last have. That cat makes a good cuddle buddy. Even if she's missing the entire other half of her body.
You hum in thought, continuing to careen forward from your chair. No! This thing across from you is nothing like Josie. His ears look more like a bear, like 1048. Or could he be a dog? No, no... You've got it! He's definitely a rat!
Leaning back, you return to a proper sitting position and internally applaud yourself for finding the solution to your own ridiculous question. A rat, you think to yourself, face smug. Reminds me of a certain mask that drips black snot.
Wait a minute. The satisfied expression you adorn falters as you inspect the rat closer. What if it's not a rat, but a mouse?!
No, you're getting sidetracked! You take another bite of the banana you have graciously been given by your... captors? Do they count as captors if you willingly went with them?
The clearing of a throat. "Excuse me. If you could please answer the question..."
Oh, right. They're not really your 'captors,' just your interrogators, (that provide you with free food, might you add).
"What was the question again?" you ask, before not-so-elegantly stuffing the rest of the banana down your throat. You couldn't help but cave into your stomach's hunger; you haven't tasted this quality of fresh food in years! No more scavenging for meals or rummaging through garbage bins!
The man in uniform raises an inquiring eyebrow. You examine the badge attached to his right breast pocket: 'Detective Tsukauchi.'
He gestures to his side. "He asked you for your name."
Your eyes follow his hand's movements, and you find yourself gazing at the rat once more. "Oh, I wasn't paying attention." You admit shamelessly, grabbing another banana from the bowl placed before you. "I'm Y/N."
"Pleasure to meet you, Y/N." The rat smiles. You absentmindedly nod in response. "I'm Nezu, the principal of U.A. High. The man beside me is Detective Tsukauchi," you glance at the final stranger, "and this is Aizawa, a teacher at this school. He is also the one who found you. We would like to ask you some questions, as you are already aware."
"Sure," you comply, shoving another banana into your mouth. "I don't mind."
"How old are you?"
"Fifteen, I think."
"Who are your parents?"
You shrug, nonchalantly reaching for another banana. "Don't have any."
Nezu's grin widens slightly, and you watch him place a paw below his jaw. "Would you be comfortable telling us about what happened in that alley?"
Cocking your head to the side, you carefully peel off the banana's skin. "Which one?"
The detective speaks up. "The one you were found in."
Chewing another bite of your food, you tap a finger to your chin in thought. "Well, I was asleep until I heard a bunch of noise." Slowly, you turn to Nezu, replicating his ear-to-ear smile as you dramatically retell your experience.
"I looked up from my home, my beloved alleyway cardboard box, and saw two groups of people fighting. I decided to hide in my box until it was all over, but then one of them crashed into my home. They crumpled my box, and my hiding spot was revealed! The two groups started arguing about 'gang territory,' or whatever, and one of them decided to use me as a hostage and pointed a gun to my head."
You sink your teeth into your banana once more, oblivious to the horrified looks from every adult in the room.
"Oh, but it was fine," you casually continue, mouth half-full, "since, you know, I took care of it and all."
"When you say that you 'took care of it,'" the detective asks cautiously, "do you mean that you used your quirk?"
"My... quirk?" You scratch the back of your neck. "I guess it's my quirk? Don't know too much about 'quirks,' to be honest. I've never been to a doctor, or whatever specialist you go to for checking those out."
"Could you describe to us what it was that you exactly did?"
You gulp down the rest of your banana before replying. "You mean, in that alley? I summoned, or, like, conjured up one of those, uh." You pause, replacing 'SCPs' with another word to prevent further confusion. "Creatures? One of those creatures."
Tsukauchi looks you in the eye. "These creatures that you summon." You glance at the detective's hands, and you notice that they're trembling. "What do they do? What do they look like?"
"Usually I summon them to help and protect me." You explain with a shrug, "Oftentimes I encounter people who want to hurt me for some reason. There's a bunch of, er, 'creatures,' that I can summon, and they don't typically look like your perception of what's 'normal.'"
You continue, "There are endless possibilities, really. One looks like a teddy bear, just covered in human ears." Tsukauchi's eyes widen, as if his suspicions have been confirmed. "There's some that are long and bony. Some of them have these gigantic claws and razor-sharp mouths. Some of them are all gooey and acidic-"
"I believe that's enough." You turn to the side, taking a brief glimpse at Aizawa, who is standing beside you. Those were the only words he's spoken this entire time.
Turning back to the other two, you're about to grab another banana when you catch sight of the detective. You stare awkwardly, your hand paused mid-air. He seems to have completely spun on his heel to face away from you, hands clutching the wall as he gags and dry heaves. You scoot back in your chair uncomfortably.
"...And you do not have a home, correct?" Nezu stands up from his seat, approaching yours.
"Well, I did, but like I said, my cardboard box was destroyed because of those two rival gangs, or whoever they were."
"I see." He raises a paw so as to pet the top of your head. You clumsily bend down in your chair, allowing the two-foot-tall principal to reach your height. "We can arrange something for you. You may stay in a personal dorm here for free, if you would like." He smiles, "So long as you attend this school, the police force has also gladly agreed to erase your criminal record!"
You gawk at him. "C-criminal record?" Well, you guess you usually do end up leaving a mess of dead bodies behind, but it's always in self-defense!
"You should know it is illegal to use your quirk unlicensed and in public, Y/N."
Surveying the room, you dart your eyes from person to person. In the corner of the room, the detective, who is on the verge of vomiting up his insides. The man beside you, Aizawa, who refuses to look at you. The one standing in front of you, Nezu, who is blackmailing you, but is also offering you free shelter and free food...
You huff, grabbing Nezu's paw and shaking it wildly. "It's a deal, then."

Hi, I've recently had to have my dog put down. She was 13 years old and my first ever pet, so I'm completely heartbroken.
I was just wondering if I could request a one shot with any Pedro character, where the reader has had her dog put down and he's doing whatever he can to help her?
Thanks
A/N: Hi anon, I’m so sorry for your loss. If it’s any consolation, know how you feel, my dog was also around 13 when she was put down, also a first pet. Thank you for this request, it means a lot to me that I can offer some comfort through writing. Here’s a Joel oneshot, but she’s the real hero. Made with love for you anon <3
Warnings: death of a pet (mentioned/referenced), hurt/comfort, established but undefined relationship, angst/fluff, just Joel trying his best
Rescue
The wallpaper was peeling, and you were staring at it so hard you thought you might be making it worse. Time had become irrelevant– sleeping and waking were the only things you’d done in the past 24 hours. So once again, you shut your eyes and wished for sleep, the same prayer you made every time you woke up.
Yesterday you took your dog to the Jackson vet to have her put down. You had come home and holed yourself up in your room since then, not emerging once.
You laid in bed, facing away from the door with no intention of turning, even as you heard footsteps approach.
Before he even spoke, you knew it was Joel from the sound of him clearing his throat. “Excuse me for lettin’ myself in.”
When you didn’t answer, he went around the bed and kneeled in front of you. You didn’t have the emotional energy to talk, so you pretended to be asleep. But he knew better.
“I heard about your buddy,” he spoke gently, “Came to check on you.”
You opened your eyes, brimming with tears for the hundredth time today. He could see you reliving everything, plain on your face.
She’d made it out of the QZ with you. She’d kept you safe from danger countless times along the journey. With her keen hearing and smell, she had sensed threats like infected and raiders long before you would’ve spotted them, giving you time to hide and escape unharmed. She kept your spirit up, despite having no luck in finding shelter, not even a dilapidated cabin. You were about to start in a different direction, cursing yourself for coming this far west, but she kept getting excited and distracted by something in the distance. You gave her all the credit for finding Jackson.
You followed her lead until the high walls came into view. The sight made your skin prickle, and you started pulling her away when you were surrounded by a group on horseback. You started to panic, positive that they were either going to kill you or abduct you to their compound. You clung to her, begging her to stay close when all she wanted to do was advance toward one of the men who had dismounted. She had always liked Joel. That’s the only reason you had trusted him since the start, unlike most anyone else.
You entered Jackson with your dog, and everything else you cared to call yours fit in the pack slung over your shoulder. Now, you lived in a house of your own, had miles of yarn to make colorful scarves, and your pantry was always full. But still…
“It feels like she was all I had,” you croaked.
Joel brushed your hair away from your face, caressing your cheek with his thumb. “I know darlin’.”
He pulled you upright and into his arms, secure in his embrace. You sniffled into his shoulder, and he let you rest there, feeling the heave of your chest against his. Once your breathing evened out, he asked, “Have you eaten at all?”
You made a noise that indicated no.
“How ‘bout I make you something?”
You were too tired to refuse. You didn’t protest as he lifted you from the bed either, even though you felt like a sullen child in his grasp. But he didn’t think of you like that.
He carried you off to the kitchen and placed you on the counter between the sink and the stove. You stared at the faded flannel stretching over his back while he poked around the pantry, turning over jars and inspecting labels.
“Shoot, you got Chef Boyardee in here,” he mumbled, “How’s that sound?”
You hardly cared, but gave a small nod.
“Mind if I fix some for myself too?”
“Go ahead,” you responded flatly.
Wordlessly, he worked around you, emptying the contents of the can into a pot and heating it up on the stove. While stirring, he eyed your hands sitting limply in your lap. He reached out, fingers hovering over yours. You accepted the invitation, taking his one large hand into both of yours. A very Joel gesture, you thought, to offer what he could without much discussion. He continued watching the food while you turned over his palm. His entire hand was so calloused and scarred, you wondered how many stories you still hadn’t heard. Probably most of them– he wasn’t one for recounting his feats unless it was relevant. Ellie had readily shared what she knew, but you weren’t bold enough to prod the man himself about it.
A few silent minutes later, the food was ready, and he dished it out. He didn’t urge you to the table, just handed you the plate and a fork and stood there at the counter with you. It smelled good, but didn’t awaken any hunger. As Joel started eating, he peered at you from the corner of his eye, willing you to join him. You finally did, with little gusto at first, but the hot meal brought you more pleasure than you thought it would. He periodically stole more glances and was relieved to see the furrow of your brow gradually soften.
He looked around your space, “Kinda chilly in here, I can get the fire goin’ if you want.”
“That would be nice,” you gave a small nod.
He collected your empty plates and put them in the sink, turning on the water. You were about to stop him from doing the dishes, but he put a glass under the tap instead. Once filled, he handed it to you with the instruction, “Drink that.”
You complied, sipping the water while he crossed into the living room and crouched in front of the fireplace.
Joel knew more than his fair share about grief and loss, yet he hardly knew the right way to comfort someone through it. He only had his own experience to draw from, and looking back, he just wished he hadn’t let himself deal with it alone. He knew he couldn’t fix it, the unchangeable couldn’t be anything but felt. But if he could only be a reassuring presence for you, he was ready to provide that.
The fire was crackling softly now. You always found that sound to be comforting.
“You finish that water?”
“Yeah,” you set the empty glass aside.
“Good, now come here,” he beckoned.
You lowered yourself from the counter and followed him to where he now stood by the couch. He opened up a blanket that was thrown over a cushion and wrapped you in it.
He smiled softly at you, a rare and special occurrence in your book. He pulled you down onto the couch and you let yourself fall into his embrace, resting your head on his strong chest. He held you, rubbing your back soothingly. You focused on the sensation, trying your hardest to think of nothing but the present moment. The crackling fire, the weight of the blanket over your shoulders, Joel’s hands roving up and down your back.
“Ellie told me a new one today. How do you organize a space party?”
“How?” you asked into his flannel.
“You planet.”
Despite yourself, you cracked a smile, and at the sight, he mirrored it with one of his own.
“There you go,” he held you a little tighter.
One of his hands came up to your head and raked through your hair.
The smile faded as you sighed, “Did you ever have a dog?”
His voice reverberated warmly in his chest, “I did, a long time ago. He was a rescue, had a tough life before I got him. He bit me one time, before he trusted me,” he hung a hand in front of you, “right there.”
You identified it, a relatively small scar near the side of his palm.
He continued, “He was just scared, protectin’ himself. Once he trusted me, he was a real good boy. My best friend.”
At that, your eyes stung, remembering your best friend.
“Some years after him, I ended up gettin’ another rescue. Her name is Ellie.”
You surprised even yourself with a laugh.
“Surprised she ain’t bit me.”
You both giggled together, and he added quietly, “Don’t tell her I said that.”
After a minute, you breathed out, “Thank you for coming by. I needed someone.”
“Anything for you sweetheart. You kicking me out now? Done with my services?”
You chuckled and nudged his chin with your head, “Of course not.”
He kissed the crown of your head.
Staring into the glow of the fire, you professed, “I miss her more than anything.”
“She’s okay now. You will be too.”
Your eyelids were too heavy to hold open, gently falling shut. You eased into a restful sleep, this time without having to beg for it.

Imagine soaring through the sky with fucking human kite
And being such a better flyer than him
Literally cliche flying through the clouds and kyle traces his hands through them
“Stop going so high! I can’t gain altitude that fast!”
“Uh… lame power? Get better? Don’t be a human kite?”
“I fucking hate you.”
“SORRY CAN'T HEAR YOU AIR PRESSURE TOO LOUD”
Yall probably fight really well together
He thinks up the plans and you shapeshift and attack
Dynamic duo vibes fr
DROPPING IN ON A VILLAIN FROM ABOVE
BLOCKING OUT THE SUN OR SOME SHIT
Coolest duo
Stan
“Dude I TOLD YOU not to go in the radioactive lake”
“Oh… I thought that was code for go into the radioactive lake”
“In what world is telling you not to do something code for doing it?”
“Uh- YOU CANT CONTROL ME I CAN TURN INTO A BIRD NOW”
Tries to not be impressed because he’s supposed to be annoyed
But he thinks its so fucking cool
Lowkey wanted that to be his power if he could choose anything
After the veal thing he volunteered at animal shelters
This is real because I said so let me be delusional
Asks you to turn into a cat and talk to the other cats to make sure they don’t hate him
Because ferguson always glares at him from the corner and he is NOT interested in being attacked by a bunch of pissed cats
Convinced they’re scheming against him
Still mad at you for going into the radioactive lake though
Kenny
He cannot comprehend it
Like you try explaining it to him and it is just NOT clicking
The only thing that works is telling him it’s like Beast Boy from Teen Titans
“Oh so you can shapeshift into animals while still regaining your consciousness?”
“I literally said that fifteen times- You anger me so much every day.”
Wants to make the teen titans
He is robin (obviously)
Probably has the costume from halloween a few years back
PLEASE turn into a bear and pretend to fight him
He wants to say he fought a bear
And cartman bet him $100 that he couldn’t
Choreographs an entire battles scene in the middle of town
Because it’s not like south park animal control actually does anything
Kenny now owes you 10 favors that can be cashed in whenever needed
Butters
Turning into a tiger whenever he gets bullied and scaring the shit out of whoever is bothering him
(usually it's eric)
Or turning into a little puppy whenever he’s sad
“Everything alright, butters?”
“Oh, it’s nothing.”
“So you don’t want me to turn into a husky and play with a frisbee?”
“Well you didn’t mention that. That changes everything!”
Just being his lil animal buddy
Turning into an elephant walking to a doctors appointment to get there in like 2 seconds
If he’s professor chaos, he refuses to attack when you’re an animal
It’s animal abuse 🙁
He’ll punch you in the face as a person but he REFUSES to hit a cat
Even if you’re a mountain lion lunging at him
Heart of gold fr
Overall
NO ONE TELLS CARTMAN
A rat got into his sock drawer and ripped holes in all of them?
What a shame :( so sorry that happened to you
Suddenly all of his clothes have cat piss on them
How could that have happened??? Poor poor eric
What do you mean you’ve found spider webs everywhere but no spiders? Hopefully there aren’t spider eggs everywhere. That would be terrible.
Really just looking for excuses to ruin cartman’s day

sleep deprived
pairings: gustavo fring x fem!reader
summary: your boss noticed you’re overworking yourself and decides to do something about it.
a/n: gus got that email rizz
warnings: really messy lol
masterlist

You couldn’t sleep. You couldn’t. Gus had you making ninety pounds worth of meth every week, and due to your partners’ sudden disappearance, you were stuck doing all the work by yourself. You sighed, thinking back to how you got into this position.
You were a just a broke college student, trying to pay off your loans when you you met Jesse. You knew each other back in high school, and now he was your dealer. The two of you became buddies and one day you walked in on him and Walt talking about somebody named Gustavo Fring, the owner of a fast food restaurant with an undercover drug business.
You needed money and you convinced them to let join in. Realizing that the “the more the merrier” shit you had pulled really was just that, shit. After they had taught you the recipe, you ended up doing everything, always.
Gus had put to lines under the deadlines, signifying that if you didn’t get this done in time — there’d be consequences. At the same time you had a lot of due college assignments, and skipping all your lectures. So you practically lived in the lab, sleeping and eating there, until you had no time for either of those things.
You were leaning against the counter with a hand on your jaw, steadying your face. Your eyes shut and light snores coming out of your mouth. As Gus inspected your face, he realized you’d never once look so peaceful as you did in that moment.
“I see you’re getting a lot of work done,” he commented, knowing it’d wake you. Gus needed to talk to you about this. He had cameras everywhere and had been paying very close attention to how much time you’d been spending at the lap. You had your laptop and school books there, a few snacks and amount less cups of coffee.
The sudden sound of his voice startled you as you woke up with a final snore. “Shit– I’m so sorry! I-I didn’t even notice I was, uh’falling asleep” your slurred, your words blurring together due to your grogginess. You looked up at him with lazy eyes.
Gus looked at you through his glasses, his expression as emotionless as usual. You thought you saw a glimpse of emotion in his eyes, though it was probably just your sleep deprivation making you see things. Gustavo Fring doesn’t care for anyone. Especially not some random meth cook who can’t even do her job right… right?
“You should get home and get some rest, ___. Your drowsiness is affecting your work performance.” Stated as a fact, though functioning more as an excuse.
“I can’t, sir! I’ve only made like, half of the meth I was supposed to and–“ you rambled on, but he interrupted you almost instantly. “Stop it, ___! You have done your part. Your partners’s neglect of their responsibilities is not your problem,” as he shushed you, his expression remained the same though his voice got notably more aggressive. “I’ll consider getting you new partners, you’ve mastered the arts of cooking now.” In that moment, you couldn’t be bothered by his comment on your friends; all you wanted to do was go back to sleep.
“Are you absolutely sure? I’ll get back to work as soon as I wake up, I promise!” You insisted, and he shook his head. “No, you’ll have the rest of the week off,” he said. “I value your effort but I cannot have your drowsiness affect my product.” Gus explained while putting a gentle yet firm hand on your shoulder. You eyed the hand and as did he, though he didn’t let go before he you reluctantly agreed.
“Alright, I guess,” you sighed. He smiled professionally as he took out his notebook, scribbling something something. “Fantastic! Write down your email and we can discuss your work ethic further.” He demanded suggested, handing you a note and a pen. You smiled as you messily wrote down your email address and gave it back to him.
When you went to sleep that night all you could think about was your interaction earlier, and how this might’ve been his stiff attempt at flirting with you. Although you figured this could’ve easily been your head playing tricks on you agin.
When you woke up the next morning you noticed a gmail notification. Written bellow a [email protected] it read:
Hello, I hope you slept a worthwhile and woke up energetic and better. I suggest we meet up at my restaurant to further discuss our game plan.
Sincerely, Gustavo Fring.
Did Gustavo Fring just ask out out on a date?

THE TUTOR
part 3/4
pairing: eddie munson x reader, eddie munson x f!reader
WC: 3k
summary: eddie and reader check something off their list: drunken confessions ensue. also: queer!eddie. if you don’t like it, get the hell out!
a/n: yall I wrote half of this high out of my mind lolz ALSO—you may now know: the tutor will now have FOUR parts. I couldn’t squeeze all I wanted into three, so here you go! as always: pls give me feedback!!!
THE TUTOR
You walked into the cafeteria with a mission: to make Eddie Munson rue the day he was born.
It’d happened five minutes before. You’d been walking to your locker, half looking over your shoulder to see if Thomas Reed would rear his head again, when you saw it.
There he was, Thomas Reed, head bent down toward the floor, trying (and failing) to hide a bruised eye and bloody lip. He wouldn’t meet your eyes as you passed. In fact, it almost looked like he was cowering.
You would’ve enjoyed it too, had you not known exactly who had given him the shiner and had you not explicitly asked that person not to get involved.
Thomas was a jock. He ran in the same circles as people like Tommy Hagan, one of Steve’s old buddies, and Jason Carver, who had some kind of personal vendetta against Eddie. So not only would this mean repercussions for him, but it would mean repercussions for you. And the last thing you needed was more of what Thomas and his friends had already put you through.
So, yes. You were going to rip Eddie a new one.
You heard the heavy doors shut behind you as you scanned the bustling cafeteria.
It was sixth period lunch—the most busy time of the day—but you didn’t care. You could feel the anger rise in you.
Your eyes snapped to the far side of the cafeteria where Hellfire club sat every day.
You narrowed your eyes.
You gripped the straps of your backpack as you made a beeline toward the table of misfits and nerds. Eddie sat at the head of the table like some kind of metal Jesus, his hair a halo around his head in the sunlight. You’d have thought it was cute had you not been so mad.
“Eddie Munson!” You growled as you approached the table, your hand gripping his shoulder tight.
“Jesus—hello to you too,” he looked over his shoulder at you, alarmed.
The rest of the Hellfire club looked at you like you’d grown a second head.
Right, you thought. They had no idea you and Eddie had ever even spoken, nevertheless were friends.
You recognized a few of the kids from classes over the years; you knew Jeff from gym class, and Gareth had been your lab partner last year. Then, there were Dustin, Lucas, and Mike who were more surprised than all of them.
You didn’t have time to think about that, though. All you could focus on was how mad you were at Eddie.
“What the hell were you thinking?” You hissed, yanking him out of his seat by the arm.
“What are you—oh.”
“Yeah, oh.”
Eddie’s eyes glazed over with cockiness, and a smirk made its way onto his face.
“Some of my best work, honestly.”
You pushed his shoulders back.
“Eddie, what the fuck?”
“What?” He shook his head and furrowed his eyebrows. “Why are you so mad? He’s an asshole. He’s lucky I didn’t call the cops—”
“I asked you not to do anything.”
“I—what?”
You took a breath.
“I asked you not to get involved,” you said levelly. “Now, who knows what he’ll pull.”
Eddie stared at you wide-eyed, before darting his eyes to the table of boys beside him, still staring wide eyed at the two of you. A few others from neighboring tables had turned their heads to look at you as well.
Eddie sighed.
“Care to take a walk?” He asked, side-eyeing the rest of the lunchroom.
“Fine.”
- - - -
The wood of the picnic table was cold against your thighs.
“I’m sorry, you know.” Eddie rubbed his chin. “I didn’t know you’d be so upset. And I didn’t think about Jason and his goons.”
You huffed.
“To be completely honest, I’ve been looking for an excuse to beat that guy’s ass for a while,” he plopped down on the bench next to you, too close. Not close enough. You could smell the cologne he’d put on this morning.
Every time Eddie got too close to you, all you did was want, want, want.
“He was my lab partner sophomore year,” he offered, shoulder brushing yours. “He told everyone I was a fag because he caught me kissing Chase Whitaker behind the bleachers.”
You turned to him, surprised. He smiled at you and elbowed you gently.
“C’mon,” he leaned into you. “You can’t tell me you never heard about that.”
“I did, I just never thought that—”
“---it was true?”
“Well,” you balked, feeling your stomach sink. Not because he was gay, but because you’d fallen completely besotted for someone you could never have. “Yeah.”
“Well, they got one part about the Freak right.”
“Don’t call yourself that.” You nudged him. “Who cares if you like boys, I still—”
“I like girls, too, you know.” He said quietly, mouse-like. He sounded more quiet than you’d ever heard him. “Like Bowie.”
“Like Bowie,” you laughed a little.
“Hm,” he peeked at you from the corner of his eyes, smiling. “Anyway, I’m sorry. I wasn’t thinking. Call it pent-up rage or something, but the moment I saw him with his hands on you, I—”
“It’s okay, Eddie,” you leaned into him, causing the two of you to sway in the late autumn breeze. “I overreacted. I don’t know, sometimes I’m just afraid…”
“...the worst is going to happen?” He added for you after a moment.
“Hmm, yeah.”
You didn’t know how to answer him. Because, yes, that was true, but it was so much more than that. It was your entire world being turned upside down and Russians interrogating you and billy Hargrove being practically ripped to pieces in Starcourt and—
“Hey, you okay?”
You frantically blinked, shaking your head.
“Yeah,” you said. “Yeah, I’m just cold. It really is freezing out here.”
“It is, isn’t it?” Eddie laughed, standing up. He rubbed his hands together and breathed into them. “Here, take my coat.”
“What? Eddie no–”
“Don’t be a martyr,” he rolled his eyes, thrusting the leather jacket into your arms. “Take the damn jacket.”
You smiled, slipping your arms into the coat. It was still warm, and his scent clung to it. It was deep and woodsy and smelled a little bit of weed and a lot of boy. You wanted to crawl inside and make a home there.
“We should probably be heading back,” you said. “What time is it?”
Eddie looked at his watch, then at you, sheepish.
“12:50,” he squinted.
You contemplated. You were already twenty minutes late to class: what was the point of going anyway?
“Hm,” you sighed. “Wanna just skip the rest of the day?”
“God, yes.”
- - - -
“I don’t know about this,” Eddie actually looked nervous, his dark hair spread around his head as he laid on the floor of your living room.
You’d decided to move tutoring to your house a few weeks ago, now that winter had hit. It was two weeks before winter break, and Ms. Taylor’s midterm was coming up. You’d been studying tirelessly for days at your house while your mom worked nights, eager for someplace other than the library for peace and quiet.
“What?” You leaned over your textbook from your place on the couch. “Since when am I the one who has to convince you to do things?”
“Since those ‘things’ require me to rub elbows with Steve Harrington for a whole evening.”
“Oh my god, you’re so dramatic!” You laughed.
“I’m a theatre kid, sweetheart.”
“Obviously,” you rolled your eyes. “It’ll be a part of the deal, anyway. I wanna get absolutely plastered this weekend. Steve and Robin will just happen to be there also.”
“I don’t know. I don’t like him.”
“He’s my friend.” you stated. “Don’t you trust my judgment?”
“Well, yes–”
“Then what’s the problem?”
“I just don’t know,” he picked at a string on the sleeve of his shirt.
“Ed, he’s been wondering why I keep bumming rides off of you instead of him. And Robin will be there too.”
“And did you tell him about our little arrangement?”
“No,” you scowled at him. “I told him we’re friends.”
Eddie blinked in surprise, sitting up to face you. He was close enough like this that you could smell his cologne, the cigarettes on his breath.
“We’re friends?”
“Well, uh…” you all of a sudden felt insecure. What if you’d misread this? What if you’d been wrong, and this was purely transactional?
“Yeah, I mean, aren’t we?” You squeaked.
There was a beat of silence, before his lips stretched into a grin.
“Yeah, honey, we are.”
“Then why won’t you go to this party with me?” You pushed.
“Ugh, fine!” Eddie threw himself back on the floor. “If you will stop nagging me.”
“Yes!”
“---and, you order us a pizza.”
“Done.” You smiled, walking over to the landline in the kitchen.
You dialed the number to your favorite pizza place and Eddie came to lean on the counter beside you. The phone rang as you waited for the call to go through.
“Hey.”
“Hmm?”
“Will you let me do your eyeliner for the party?”
You looked at him in surprise, expecting to find the usual look on his face that he made when he was joking. Instead, you found curiosity. Sincerity.
“Hell yeah,” you nodded. “As long as I don’t look like a member of KISS.”
Eddie rolled his eyes and you laughed, excited for the coming weekend.
- - - -
You were two drinks in, and were absolutely positive Eddie hated Steve.
You’d known you didn’t like him, but you didn’t think it was this bad.
When you and Eddie had arrived, you’d made a beeline for your two best friends, who were standing near the bowl of jungle juice in the kitchen.
The party was at a friend of Robin’s this time—a girl from band whose parents were out of town. She was cool; in that edgy, artsy, punk way that all of Robin’s other friends were. So, you’d had her help you pick out your outfit earlier in the week.
You knew Eddie would be doing your eyeliner, so you wanted to dress to match it. Robin had picked out an off-the-shoulder band tee from her own closet. It was a Fleetwood Mac shirt of her father’s that she’d cut up. She paired it with fishnets and a pair of chunky boots. You silently thanked God that you were the same shoe size. You’d thrown on a sheer pair of black tights and finally, she’d convinced you to wear the jean skirt again. And, it had taken some convincing, especially after what happened with Thomas. But, you wanted to turn heads. Particularly Eddie’s.
After a quick and awkward greeting between the four of you, you and Robin excused yourself from the stilted conversation to use the restroom. Robin held your arm as she dragged you behind her to the bathroom.
“Excuse me, coming through,” she narrowly dodged another kid you recognized from band.
Once you made it to the bathroom, she shoved you in before shutting the door behind her.
“Oh my god, that was the awkwardest moment of my life,” she sighed, leaning against the bathroom door.
You leaned against the counter.
“Seriously,” you scoffed. “I mean what the hell was that? ‘Long time, no see,’ really, Steve?”
“God, he’s hopeless.”
“I’m gonna tear my hair out.”
“I don’t think Mr. Munson would like that,” Robin smirked at you. You balked.
“What? What is that supposed to mean?”
She gave you a once-over.
“You look hot. That’s what that’s supposed to mean. And Eddie definitely noticed.”
“You’re crazy,” you shook your head, turning to inspect yourself in the mirror.
“He was practically frothing at the mouth.”
“Ew, Robs.”
“Just saying.”
She moved beside you, fixing her lipstick. Your eyes trailed over your reflection.
You looked… striking. Your hair was teased up and voluminous, thanks to whatever magic Robin had worked with the blow dryer. Your lips were painted a light berry color, and Eddie had penciled your eyeliner to perfection. You felt dangerous—in a good way.
“Whatever. We’re just friends, unfortunately.”
“Hmm,” Robin patted her cheeks, before looking at you. “‘Just friends’ don’t look at each other like that.”
Your breath stuttered. Was it that obvious?
You threw your hands over your eyes, cringing.
“Oh god,” you groaned. “Don’t tell me I’m that obvious.”
“You are,” she leaned on the counter. “But only because it’s me. Him on the other hand…”
“Don’t play around, Robs.”
“I’m not!” She assured you. “I swear I could feel the tension myself. He’s into you. Trust me.”
“No, it’s not that simple. He’s only hanging out with me because of the—”
Because of the deal.
There it was. Underneath it all, you were terrified the only reason Eddie was giving you the time of day was because he felt bad for you. Because he felt like he owed you. You cringed.
“Because of what?”
You sighed.
“Because I’m tutoring him. Because I’m a recluse. Because the only reason anyone knows who I am is because of my formerly-popular best friend.”
Robin rolled her eyes and pulled you into a hug.
“You’re so dramatic.” She said. “We both know Harrington isn’t the reason either of us are popular.”
“Or not popular.” You corrected.
“Look, for real?” Robin pulled back, hands on your shoulders, locking her gaze with yours. “That’s bullshit. All of it. And don’t think anyone could give less of a shit about what they ‘should’ do than Eddie. If he’s hanging out with you, it’s because he wants to.”
You smiled at her, wishing she was right.
“Besides, he was practically undressing you with his eyes,” she added nonchalantly.
“What?”
“Seriously, it was hard to watch,” she eyed your legs. “Can’t blame him, though. The skirt was a good choice.”
You snorted, before grabbing her arm and pulling her out the door with you.
- - - -
Two hours later, you were drunk.
Sloshed, if you will.
You’d had two beers, a shitty vodka cran, and three rum and cokes. Long story short: the room was spinning, and your chest felt light and giddy.
You giggled to yourself as you stumbled into the brightly-lit kitchen.
Guess me and Eddie can cross this off my list, you thought, leaning on a countertop.
Across the kitchen island was Steve, leaning his elbow on a counter and towering over a short girl with braids.
You smirked to yourself—this was his conquest-stance. The confidence in his shoulders told you he liked this girl. He was making a move.
You turned to your right, eager to tell Robin. The two of you had been practically begging Steve to go on a date for the better part of a month; you’d had enough of his complaining about being single.
But when you turned, Robin wasn’t there. You frowned, before looking back over to Steve, who was kissing braid-girl. Around them, the room seemed to spin. The yellow light cascaded off of the light fixture above the island and you blinked rapidly.
You frowned harder, turning on your heel to leave the kitchen. You needed to find Robin. You needed to find—
“Woah,” two warm hands caught your shoulders as you stumbled into a tall man with a white tshirt on. “There you are.”
Your forehead bumped his chest, before you jerked away from the stranger.
“Eddie,” your own voice sounded far away to you. “I have to go.”
“That so, sweetheart?”
“Yeah,” you were steadfast, anxious. “I have to leave here, I have to find Robin.”
“Woah, woah, what is it?” He looked upset, eyes darting over your shoulder before hardening.
Why? You thought. What’s going on? Why is he mad—
Suddenly, you felt a wave of nausea rise in your stomach. You doubled over, into Eddie.
“Oh god,” you mumbled, looking up at him. “I’m gonna be sick.”
“Okay,” Eddie sung, pulling you by your arm with him toward the bathroom. “Excuse me, out of my way.”
When you reached the bathroom, you lurched over the toilet, your stomach jerking in your abdomen. You felt the nausea leave you like a cool spring as you vomited the now sour, rank flavor of the vodka cran.
“Okay, that’s it,” Eddie mumbled to you from behind you. Away from yourself, you felt his hands pull your hair back from your face and neck. You lurched again, throwing up more.
“Ughh,” you moaned, before leaning your cheek on the toilet seat, facing him. You were too drunk to care about the germs. “I’m sorry.”
“Nothin’ to be sorry for, princess.”
“There is, though,” your bottom lip wobbled a bit.
It was as if all the emotions of the night were catching up with you; the excitement, the fear, the insecurity. It made your heart race and your eyes water.
“I threw up and you had to help me and now I can’t find Robin—”
“Hey, hey,” he put his hand to your forehead. It felt nice on your clammy forehead. You looked at him and your breath left you for a second.
It was now you realized his hair was tied back, away from his face, and that his jacket had vanished. His biceps were perfectly shaped in the tight material of his tshirt.
“Robin’s sitting in the living room with that girl from band, remember her? Vicky?”
You sniffed.
“Yeah.”
“Yeah,” Eddie swallowed. “So, she’s fine. Nothing to worry about.”
You nodded, sniffing. As you did, the fabric at your knees caught your eye.
You’d torn your new, sheer tights. At the knee, the fabric was split, and along your thighs were irreparable runs. You felt your eyes water.
“And I tore my tights,” you all but whined. You inwardly cringed at your tone. “These were new.”
“I like ‘em better that way, if it means anything,” Eddie mumbled, eyes wide and brown on you.
“You do?”
“Yeah,” he half-smiled. “It’s metal.”
The side of your mouth twitched.
“Metal.”
“Metal,” Eddie smirked, his thumb tilting your chin up.
Your eyes went glassy, looking at him in all his flushed, disheveled glory.
“Eddie?” You breathed, staring into his dark, black eyes.
“Yeah?”
“Your eyes are pretty.”
Eddie blinked, taken aback, and opened his mouth to respond, but as he did, you lurched again, emptying your stomach into the toilet.

can you write a robin fic where you're steve's sister and she meets you when you crash one of their weekly movie nights? maybe she thinks you're pretty and her crush kinda develops as time goes on and she sees more of you when she hangs out with steve or you stop by the video store?

Interrupted By The
Thought Of You
Pairing: Robin Buckley x F!Reader
Warning:a lot of fluff, rude steve, love confession👀
Summary: You’re always told by your older brother-Steve,that you shouldn’t interrupt his “weekly movie nights” with his friend. Maybe you felt a bit mischievous, so you took that chance and interrupted the whole thing on accident of course. But you did not see this coming at all- the bubbly feeling you felt for this girl never left you. Maybe it was best for her to know.
Authors note: WOW THIS IS MY FIRST REQUEST AND AHH IM SO HAPPY! My requests/ inbox are still open too! Thank you so much for requesting, I hope you enjoy reading!
“Okay so don’t come downstairs alright? I have a buddy coming over and-“ Steve was practically scolding you. He didn’t want you to interrupt his every weekly movie night, seriously, you’re pretty pissed. He can bring his buddies every week but you couldn’t bring a single friend.
“-and don’t interrupt the movie night but if you want snacks or anything don’t make a noise while you come down.” You copied his voice in a high pitch tone. Eyes were rolled back and all you did was scoff. “Look,I just don’t want you to blow it for me alright?” His hands were on his hips and he just looks at you, waiting for a response.
“I get it. Now can you please go for fuck sake?” You took your headphones that were sitting beside you and played some music and now flipping through a magazine. Your brother Steve Harrington was known throughout the years, everybody knows him. But you couldn’t stand being even with him, it’s like you guys aren’t related at all.
He ignores you every time you try to approach him. The halls were always crowded with his friends and once he gives you a look- he doesn’t bother to try to talk to you for the rest of the day. Not until the end of the day, he picks you up and leaves you at his house and then heads off to some party. But ever since Nancy Wheeler dumped him, he’s changed a bit. Not too much though, he’s still avoiding your gaze and you’ve actually gotten use to it.
“Hey sorry to keep you waiting Robin. It’s just-“ Steve comes downstairs with a huge sigh and sits right next to Robin with a bowl of popcorn in front of them. “You don’t have to say anything you dingus, just hurry up and put the movie in.” She took the bowl of popcorn and placed it on her lap- already eating some that fell on her comfortable pajama pants.
. . .
Robin already watched the Friday the 13th multiple times, but she couldn’t bring herself to tell Steve that. So she makes an excuse every time it gets to a boring scene. “ let me grab a soda in the refrigerator real quick. “ Steve just nodded- his eyes were focused on the movie and couldn’t be bothered by anything. Robin got up slowly and made her way to the kitchen. And there you were, stuffing your face with snacks and drinks.
“ OH FUCK- I- WHO ARE YOU? WAIT! (Y/N)? “ Robin was startled but she was a blushing mess when she saw you. Never in a million years would she have thought the prettiest girl in Hawkins-her crush- would be in front of her. I mean who wouldn’t be startled? She didn’t hear you at all- matter of fact she didn’t know you lived here. “Robin? What are you doing here?” You were just as confused as she was, if you knew Robin was here then you would’ve at least put some sort of makeup. “ME? Uhm, I was hanging out with Steve-“ Robin was interrupted and it was your brother who interrupted the poor girl. “(y/n)? didn’t we talk about this already?” His hands were on his face and you could see his face turn red with frustration. “Look I was just getting snacks!” You try to explain to him but he just wasn’t having it. “We talked about this! Why can’t you just listen!”
Your eyes were turning glossy and Robin noticed it. Even she was scared for a moment, she never saw Steve lose his cool at all. “It’s not a big deal we can just all hang out?” Robin played with her rings and gave a weird smile.
Steve took a deep breath and apologized. Your brother? Apologizing? You never saw that coming. You took that offer and ran towards the couch.
Robin saw the way you smiled and it gave her a little warmth, her face turned slight pink and Steve could see the freckled girl smile as you smiled. “You like my sister or something Robin?” He teased her and nudged Robin using his elbow.
“Uh-pfft- me?- oh just shut up dingus-“ she rolled her eyes, she didn’t want to tell Steve that she liked (y/n) for years, now she’s infront of Robin. “Wait- sister? She’s your sister?” Robin was dumbfounded. Her mouth slightly opened and she did not know how to process that.
“Yeah (y/n) harrington, that’s my little sister.” He paused and looked at robins mouth, she was mumbling underneath her breath.
“she has the cutest smile..”
“Come again buckley? What did you say about my sister?” His eyebrows were raised and couldn’t quite hear the dirty blonde.
“Guys don’t keep me waiting!!” You took the bowl of popcorn and slipped one in your mouth- waiting patiently for the both of them.
. . .
You were slowly shutting your eyes, the movie was finished and Steve put in a new one. And it’s been hours already, but as you turned your head to the left, you saw him sleeping with his mouth open and arms close to his chest- he was drooling like a kid.
You couldn’t help but laugh, but now it was just you and Robin. “I didn’t know you were the person that steve uhm was dating” you whispered, trying not make your voice tremble as much.Robin almost chocked on her soda,” Huh? Me and that dingus?- oh fuck- thats not how it is- I swear-“ she took the soda and gently laid it down on the table.
“Seriously? Every girl in school falls for him. It’s honestly scary how he does it.” You chuckled, almost relieved to have somebody by your side that you could talk freely to. “Well I don’t have any interest in him- I actually-“ Robin paused and gulped down whatever was in her throat, trying to tell you how she felt,it was the best opportunity.
“I actually like you- a lot- I’ve liked you ever since you stepped into Hawkins-and that’s probably weird and I just-“ she paused and heard your little snores. Your head was gently laid onto her shoulder, but you could hear everything she said.
Her body froze when you started to snore. “I guess maybe I should’ve said it later on..” her heart sank. She built up her confidence to tell you but you were asleep. She slowly grabbed the can of soda and slipped it onto her lips.
“I like you too buckley.” You whispered, loud enough for the both of you to hear.

Brightest Crayon
(3rd and final part of New Resolutions) (part 1) (part 2)
“Alright, Todd. I’ll be back for your call,” the officer says.
“Yeah, Ine know the drill,” Todd slurs.
“Do me a favor and maybe let these people know how it works,” the officer sneers before leaving. “I’ll be back. No funny business.”
Todd takes a look at his cell mates. They look familiar. He squints at the guy closest to him and it clicks, “Hey, aren’t you the arrow guy?”
“Hawk-eye,” Clint corrects.
“Hot guy?”
“HAWK - eye. Like the bird,” Kate clarifies. “Hi, I’m Kate. Maybe you recognize me too. I’m his partner. Also Hawk-eye.”
“Isn’t that confusing? Why not Hawk-girl?” Todd asks.
“Yes, it is confusing. I told them the same thing, Todd,” Yelena answers from the bench where she sits next to Nat.
“Wait, aren’t you all Avengers? What are you doing here?” Todd stumbles a little but holds onto a bar to keep from falling.
“Yeah, this isn’t exactly where I planned to celebrate New Years Eve,” Kate complains.
“You can blame this on tipsy witchy over there,” Sam points to Wanda who has got her head on Nat’s shoulder.
“I’m sorry. Y/N and I pre-gamed and then I lost her in the crowd and I tried to tap on some person’s shoulder to ask if he saw her, and now I’m here,” she explains.
“You call this a tap on the shoulder?” interrupts the officer, who has returned, pointing at a bruise forming on his cheek. Wanda mumbles, “It’s not even that big.”
“Can I get my call now?” Nat speaks up before Wanda gets into any more trouble.
The officer sighs, “Yeah, yeah.”
He lets her out and leads her to another room. Clint sighs in relief. “Finally, we’re getting out of here. She’ll know who to call.”
“Unlike all of us it seems,” Kate quips.
“How’d you all end up here?” Todd inquires.
“You know how she got in here.” Sam nods in Wanda’s direction. “Honestly, Wanda, if I were that officer I’d probably think you were lying too, especially with that terrible excuse. Looks like your girl’s rubbing off on you.”
“You wish she’d rub you off,” Wanda snaps. Sam chokes while Yelena and Kate snicker.
Clint chastises her, “Wanda.”
Wanda takes it back, “Sorry. I’m drunk. Anyway, so I called Yelena who teased the officer about the bruise and called him a baby.”
“Throwing me in here only proves that,” Yelena points out. “Then I called Kate because I didn’t want Nat to know. She tried picking the lock when she couldn’t get us out and got caught.”
“So I called Sam because I didn’t want Clint to find out and give me the disappointed Dad face that he totally gave us when Sam called him to bail us all out after he got thrown in here for trying to pull the Avengers card,” Kate explains.
“It usually works,” Sam mumbles.
“What about you, Hot-guy?” Todd looks at Clint.
“I tried to bribe him with going to any function he wants and say he knows me,” Clint replies.
“Has that ever worked?”
“So many times,” Kate chuckles, answering for him. “When it didn’t work, he called Nat who high-key threatened the officer. And now we’re here.”
“Who do you think she is going to call?” Todd asks. What’s the possibility another Avenger ends up in here with him. This is crazy enough. His buddies aren’t going to believe this.
“Who knows? Just hopefully not crayon,” Yelena mumbles.
“Hey! Stop calling her that,” Wanda interjects.
Yelena refuses. “What? She likes it. I think it’s a cute nickname.”
“Why didn’t you call Y/N first when you got arrested?” Kate asks.
“I’m drunk, Kate, but not that drunk,” Wanda says, making everyone laugh.
Todd doesn’t get the joke, but doesn’t get a chance to ask because Natasha is back.
“Who’d you call?” Clint asks.
“Y/N.”
All the Avengers in the cell look at her like she’s crazy including Wanda. Wanda loves you, she does, but talking wasn’t your forte. She doesn’t know how you could possibly get everyone out of here. The reason she didn’t call you was because if she did, you would be in here too.
Nat says you are the only one left to call. Everyone else is on a mission or out of the city since it is a holiday.
“We are never getting out of here,” Sam whines.
Todd doesn’t understand the fuss. “Is this Y/N person, like, a trouble maker or what?”
“No,” Wanda denies but everyone else gives some variation of yes.
“You could say that.”
“Yep.”
“You have no idea.”
“It’s so bad.”
Clint just snorts.
“She doesn’t try to be,” Wanda defends you. “She sometimes just talks without thinking first. She doesn’t mean things the way she says them.”
“And you have to watch what you say around her,” Nat adds.
“You can say that again. Once on a mission, Sam told Y/N over comms to ‘shoot her shot’ when Y/N asked if she should ask Wanda to be her girlfriend and now I have a scar from a bullet wound.” Clint points at his shoulder.
“Remember my birthday present?” Yelena laughs.
*Months ago*
“Y/N, sweetie, I thought I told you to wait for me to pick out Yelena’s present,” Wanda tells you.
“I know but I found the perfect thing!” you say excitedly. “You know how Nat has been saying Yelena has been missing home? Well, I got her a surprise ticket to Russia!”
Wanda is surprised at you finding a fitting gift. “That’s actually really nice.”
“Thank you,” you reply, happy that your girlfriend approves. “I’m just stuck on the card. I’ve thought of two ideas, one: I draw a watch and it says ‘time to go home now’ or two: I draw the DeLorean from back to the future and it will say ‘back to your country’.”
And there it is. “Y/N, no.”
“You’re right. What am I thinking?,” you agree. “The DeLorean is way too hard to draw. I’ll stick with the watch. Thanks, babe.”
*present*
“She didn’t,” Kate says, not able to believe it.
“No, she actually wrote ‘Time’s up. Go home.’ It was hilarious,” Yelena laughs.
“She apologized,” Wanda reminds her.
“How could I forget? That’s where her nickname comes from. She said she was sorry and told me she wasn’t the brightest crayon in the shed.” That story always. Makes Yelena smile.
“Isn’t it the sharpest tool in the shed?” Todd asks.
“I think she was trying to say the brightest crayon in the box,” Sam tells him.
“I spent most of my life in Russia and even I know this,” Yelena chuckles. “I like Y/N. She is funny. But we are definitely stuck here.”
“Alright, enough teasing about my girlfriend,” Wanda exclaims.
“Oh, come on, Wanda. We’re just explaining to Todd what Y/N is like. We all love her but some things can go over her head,” Sam says. “Like one time-”
*One time*
At the dinner table, Yelena watches in disgust as you and Wanda pass your fork back and forth to eat your food. “Why can’t you just get another fork? Don’t you care about germs?”
“It's a little too late to care about germs, especially after where my mouth was last night. It was our one month anniversary.” You wink at Yelena. Yelena grimaces not wanting the details. Wanda flushes embarrassed as everyone at the table gapes at her, Natasha trying to hold in her laughter.
“We drank straight from the same bottle of wine!” you say cockily, not noticing everyone’s reactions and just wanting to tease Yelena.
*Present*
“I don’t think anyone actually told her what we thought she meant,” Sam finishes.
“Oh, don’t forget the Betty party!” Kate adds. Everyone chuckles except Todd who doesn’t know the story and Wanda who gets embarrassed every time she remembers.
She groans, “Ugh, don’t remind me.”
“What’s the Betty party?” Todd asks.
“Okay, so context, Wanda and Y/n were just starting to go out Tony was throwing a party…”
*At the party, months ago*
Wanda storms over rather upset but all you see is how good she looks tonight. “Hey, Wanda. You look gorgeous!”
“Don’t ‘hey Wanda’ me!” she hisses. You are taken aback wondering what happened. “What do you think you’re doing bringing another girl to this party? Everyone is looking and asking me what happened and I am asking myself the same thing. I thought we had something?”
She glares at you while pointing out the girl you brought this evening. Sure enough, people are watching, looking at you and Wanda right now, specifically Clint and Nat who appear ready to intervene if this gets out of hand. You still don’t get why Wanda is upset but you assure her, “We do and I would have loved coming here with you but you know we have to follow the theme of the party.”
“What theme?” Wanda asks.
“There’s a theme?” Kate whispers to Yelena, both girls eavesdropping on you and Wanda. Yelena shrugs.
You tell Wanda in all seriousness, “We have to come with a Betty. Tony told Steve everyone was bringing a Betty and he wouldn’t let him come to the party if he didn’t show up with one.”
“She’s not serious, is she? This cannot be real,” Kate comments, very amused. Wanda is thinking the same thing.
“Oh, here she comes,” you say as the woman you came with approaches you. You smile and introduce them two. “Wanda, meet Beatrice. She answered my last minute ad on Craigslist.”
“It was an odd ad but free drinks, am I right?” Beatrice jokes. “Also, it’s not everyday you get to go to a party hosted by Tony Stark.”
“You’d be surprised,” you laugh. You turn to Wanda. “So where’s your Beatrice or did you bring an Elizabeth?”
The way you look around, trying to find which person Wanda brought lets her know you aren’t joking. She sighs, “God, you’re lucky you’re pretty.”
You smile, taking the compliment. “Oh, ditto.”
*present*
“There is no way that’s true.” Todd shakes his head. “I have to meet this person.”
“Well, Todd. You probably will when she inevitably gets thrown in here too,” Clint replies.
“Alright, you six, you’re free to go,” the officer returns. The six Avengers can’t believe their ears but don’t hesitate to rush out of the cell when the officer begrudgingly opens it.
“Not to, like, seem like I don’t want out, but why are you letting us out?” Kate asks.
“Seems like your friend here finally called someone with half a brain,” he nods to Nat.
They all say goodbye to Todd and go to grab their belongings. They see you waiting for them in the lobby. You are talking to some guy in a suit and glasses.
“Why is he wearing glasses indoors?” Kate asks the group as they approach you. You say goodbye to your friend and hear his parting words. “Keep out of trouble, Y/N.”
“I’ll try,” you reply, watching him extend his cane and leave.
“Wow, real nice, Kate.” Sam shakes his head at her, calling her out for the comment on the glasses.
She splutters, “Wha- how, okay none of us saw the cane until he left!”
“Wanda!” you call your girlfriend over. She runs and hugs you. “Why didn’t you guys call me sooner?”
Everyone is ashamed to say they didn’t think you could do it so Wanda tells you, “We didn’t want you to get arrested too.”
“They were collecting us like trading cards,” Sam jokes.
“Lucky Nat called when she did or they’d have the whole team here,” you say. You hold Wanda close to you. “You had me worried. I turn around and suddenly you’re gone and you wouldn’t pick up your phone and then no one was picking up.”
“How did you get us out?” Clint asks.
“I know a guy.” You shrug.
“The blind guy?” Kate refers to the guy you were talking to.
“Yeah. He’s a lawyer,” you explain. “We were already on our way here when Nat called. Wanda and I have our phone locations shared and I used it when no one was answering their phones. I figured something was wrong when I saw she was in the police department.”
“How do you know him?” Wanda questions you.
“He’s gotten me out of trouble one or two times,” you answer. Quickly, you move them along, not wanting them to ask about the numerous stories you have. “Anyway, glad you are all safe. Let’s go. We don’t want to be here at midnight. That’s no way to start the year for us.”
“A lot has changed since two years ago,” an officer passing by comments, smirking at you. Your teammates look at you confused. You know they’ll be expecting a story later. “Imagine my surprise when I heard you’re bailing someone out and not the other way around.”
“Don’t embarrass Y/N in front of her friends,” another officer says. “Happy New Year, Y/N.”
“Thank you, Susan. Happy New Year. Bye, Joe.” You hurry your friends out the door. Your girlfriend gives you a look after your exchange with the officers, obviously questioning why you are on a first name basis with them. You admit, “Okay, so more than two times.”
“Your friend must be a damn good lawyer,” Sam voices.

Bets With a Vegas Boy
summary: When Spencer and Reader make a bet with high stakes, their stubborn sides show, but when a consulting officer has his eyes on reader, Spencer has to step in.
word count: 4.9k
warnings: SMUT (breeding kink, daddy kink, a bit of degradation, semipublic sex,) unrequited flirting, criminal minds style violence, suggested cannibalism, reader has multiple tattoos
Pairing: Spencer Reid/Female Reader
A/N: This took me forever to finish as I was on vacation! I hope you all enjoy it!
“Y/N, have you ever met Reid? You’re supposed to be smart, why would you willingly sign up for this?” You scoffed at JJ’s words. When Penelope Garcia is involved it seems that no news traveled slowly, proven by the entire BAU’s new knowledge of the bet you had made with boy genius after bickering about which of you was more clingy. “JJ, you really underestimate me that much?” She shook her head in disbelief “You know that’s not it, but come on Y/N! Seriously, he’s banned from every casino in Vegas! Why would you bet against that?” “JJ, he was banned because he can count cards. It’s not like we’re playing Black Jack for christ’s sake!” She weighed the idea for a moment and you could see the wheels turning in her head. “Okay that’s true, but still. He’s the most stubborn man I’ve ever met. I seriously hope whatever he has in mind for your forfeit isn’t as bad as yours.” You laughed, imaging Spencer in the predicament you were positive he would be in the thick of by the end of the week.
“I think he’d look good with one, you don’t agree?” JJ rolled her eyes as you both made your way out of the elevator towards the glass doors. “That’s not my point Y/N, don’t you think it’s a little harsh? I mean he’s not like you, how do you know he’d even want one?” You smirked, remembering the first time you’d met Dr. Spencer Reid. You had been brought on to the team a few short years ago after an implemented policy that required an even amount of field agents so there were partners for every investigation. You thought it was a bit condescending, requiring the most brilliant minds in the nation to follow the buddy system, but it gave you a job and for that you were thankful. It had its perks though, one of which being your immediate pairing with Reid. You were as young as him and not far behind in brilliance. What you lacked in eidetic memory and forgein language fluency, you more than made up for in marksmanship and street smarts. You and Reid got along fine, even if it was a bit tense at first. He was thoroughly convinced he didn’t need a babysitter.
“I’m a grown man! Why would I need to be watched every second of the day? The last thing we need is a liability.” you remembered the words like it was yesterday. You had been approaching him from behind, and overheard his rant. “Well, technically since we’re the same age, I’d hardly consider myself a babysitter. Would you trust your child’s care with someone their age?” Spencer had turned himself around so fast he’d almost fallen off the desk he was perched atop. “Y-you must be Agent Y/N! It’s uh nice to meet you?” He cringed at the tone of his voice, and you burst out with giggles before shaking your head. “Don’t worry Dr. Reid, I understand it must be a difficult situation for you. I mean, if I were the resident genius I wouldn’t take too kindly to the idea of being shown up either.” The dark-skinned woman who had previously been engaging him in his sour mood let out a surprised chuckle and you watched his face turn from embarrassment to shock and finally settle on disbelief. “Wh- Excuse me?” You felt your stomach begin to cramp as his reaction made you laugh further and you clutched your files against your chest. You fought to catch your breath for a few seconds before regaining your composure. “Excuse my reaction, Dr. Reid but I couldn’t resist. No hard feelings?” He nodded mutely and you saw a soft smile crack through his mock stern expression. You turned to introduce yourself to the woman next to him, Tara Lewis. You made small talk for a few more minutes while Reid scribbled away at his desk before Emily called all of you to the round table with a case.
Nerves had struck you then, and you stood frozen instead of joining Tara in her stride. “Y/N, everything okay?” You jumped slightly as you heard Reid’s voice from behind you. “Oh! Yes, sorry!” You moved out of his way, trying your best not to stumble over an empty desk and failing miserably. He stretched his hands out and caught you, much to your embarrassment. “Are you sure you’re okay? Are you feeling ill?” You shook your head quickly. “No! No, I'm fine, really.” He looked into your eyes and you tried to ignore the sparks you felt deep in your chest. “Y/N you’re working with profilers now, lying that poorly will never work around here.” His joke succeeded in its attempt to lighten the mood and you let out a soft laugh despite your anxiety. “I’m just a little nervous I guess. I didn’t expect to have a case so soon.” He nodded and his thumb absentmindedly rubbed soothing circles on your sleeve. “I understand. We all felt that way at first. I won’t say it’s easy, but we’re all here to support you. Take a few deep breaths.” You did as he instructed and you felt your nerves ease as he consoled you. “That’s better. Besides, what could you have to worry about? You have the best partner here.” You laughed, and he released your arm. “I’ll meet you in there.” and with that he left you standing there trying to lock down the feelings he had just arisen in you. “Nice Y/N, crush on your partner first thing. What a great start.” you muttered to yourself
A few moments later you joined the rest of the team at the table and quickly reviewed the case, before lifting off 45 minutes later to a small town in Georgia. Everything felt like a whirlwind and you did your best to keep up. True to what Spencer had said, the team helped you get your bearings and by the end of the night you were making great strides along with the rest of them. It was near midnight when Emily dismissed you all to the hotel a few blocks away to get a few hours of rest. You were thankful, having poorly attempted to drown your tiredness with watery coffee from the small pot at the station, and you made your way to the hotel as swiftly as you could manage. When you were all gathered in the lobby, Emily handed out the keycards and it quickly dawned on you how the room assignments would work. You tried to shake off the thought and prayed that the night would go quickly. It made sense to just put the partners together, it made keeping track of everyone easier and allowed for quick communication between the team. You told yourself all the reasons it was logical as you made your way up to your room.
Spencer left you to your thoughts, but he could see how hard you were focusing. He unlocked the door and the lights switched on as you both made your way towards your beds. You heard him ask you something, and turned awkwardly to face him “Sorry, what’d you say?” He looked at you, a mix of amusement and concern on his face. “I asked if you wanted to shower first. Are you okay?” “Oh! Yeah, thanks. I’m okay, just thinking about the case.” You hoped you had lied better this time and were relieved that he seemed to buy it. “Just try to shut your mind off of it for now, I know it’s hard. Trust me, you’ll feel much better when you’re refreshed.” You nodded at his words and pulled some pajamas out of your go-bag. “Thanks Spencer. I’ll try not to take too long.” He shrugged you off “No worries, take your time.” You shut yourself behind the door and tried to shake the feelings out of your head. “Get a grip Y/N. You’re being crazy.” You scolded yourself before showering. You hurried despite Spencer’s insistence and quickly made your way out of the shower to dry yourself off. You applied lotion to your ink-covered skin and slipped on your shorts and t-shirt before drying your hair as fast as you could and making your way out of the bathroom. You dropped your folded clothes on top of your bag, alerting Spencer that you were done.
“That was fast, you really didn’t have to-” his words died in his throat as he looked up from the file in his lap and caught sight of your legs, covered in the intricate artwork that stretched across the skin. You tried to ignore his watchful gaze. “It’s no problem! I wanted to save you some hot water.” He thanked you quietly and made his way to the bathroom hurriedly, trying not to look at you again. You tried to fall asleep but you couldn’t get him out of your head. A few more minutes passed and he made his way over to his bed, trying to will the awkward tension out of the room. You both eventually managed to fall asleep without speaking another word.
The tension continued to grow over the next few months and the rest of the team were getting sick of watching you two dance around each other. You both denied any advances, shot down the chance to go out on any of the numerous blind dates members of the team offered to set up, and chose instead to trade glances across the bullpen and divulge your personal lives over breakroom lunches. Eventually, they made plans for a team outing and convinced you both to attend. Penelope made reservations at a nice restaurant, announcing that everyone just had to try their food. That night however, you showed up to Spencer waiting awkwardly at a table for two in the back corner with a sour face. “Where’s the rest of the team?” You asked him, taking the seat across from him. “Apparently they’ve all had to cancel. Luckily, the reservation was for two.” His eyes narrowed in suspicion and you made a mental note to scold Garcia. “Well, since we’re here I’m happy to eat. I’m starving.” Spencer’s eyes lit up and he nodded eagerly, agreeing with you. After an evening of great food and better wine, the rest was history, and you found yourself thanking Garcia the next day instead. You and Spencer had been dating for just over two years now, though he’d be able to count it down to the second you’d showed up looking angelic at the restaurant that night. You both complimented each other perfectly and you had a relationship stronger than either of you could have dreamed of.
“Hello?? Y/N are you even listening to me?” JJ’s words and nudge against your shoulder brought you back to present day and you snapped your eyes back to her face. “Yes! Sorry JJ I was just thinking… Anyways, we’ve talked about it before. He loves all of mine, and he’s talked about getting one. He’s just afraid of the pain, and too indecisive to choose what he wants.” You blushed softly as you thought about the many nights spent in your shared bed, Spencer tracing the black lines with his fingertips. He adored them and thought they made you especially unique, not to mention he found them extremely sexy. He favored the black sun on your ribcage, shaded to perfection. Even when you were clothed he would run his hand along the fabric that covered the piece.
“Well still, if you do happen to win, I can’t imagine he’ll go along with it.” You smirked and shook your head. “We’ll see about that JJ.” You both sat at your desks, and began to work through your piles of paperwork. You were thankful there was no case that needed your immediate attention, but paperwork always made you feel like a nap by the time lunch came around. You pushed yourself away from your desk, and stood to find yourself nearly chest to chest with your boyfriend who had stood at the same time. “Oh, sorry Spence. I just need coffee.” You maneuvered your way around him, missing the way he would usually grab your hips to aid you. He followed you to the break room and you poured him a cup as well leaving plenty of room for sugar. Instead of handing it to him with a quick peck on the cheek however, you left it on the counter to be picked up. “You really think you can go a week without touching me?” You heard his voice from the doorway. “It’s already been 3 days.” You said uninterestedly with a shrug, and he eyed you suspiciously. “Okay fine, no. I just think I can go longer than you can.” You finally admitted, smirking back at him.
He grabbed the mug from the counter, adding several teaspoons of sugar before taking a sip. “We’ll see about that. You’re the one that’s always curling yourself around me.” You rolled your eyes playfully. “Oh yeah, like you hate it. You’re the one that’s always rubbing my back and holding my hand under tables. Even when we’re on the metro home you’ve got your hand in mine.” He narrowed his eyes at you and stuck his tongue out, making you chuckle. “Very mature Dr. Reid. I can’t wait to win.” He opened his mouth to argue but was interrupted by Luke who stuck his head in to alert you both of the new case you’d be working. You let out a long sigh. “So much for paperwork.” The three of you made your way to the round table and sat, Spencer curling his hand into a fist to keep himself from subconsciously reaching over to place his hand on your leg.
“So, we are assisting in a local case this time, with Washington state PD about a string of murders in the homeless community. However, there’s been hefty construction in their field office so they will be joining us here.” Penelope quickly took the lead after Emily’s announcement and filled you all in about the details. She ran through the few details the local PD managed to uncover on their own and the team had only managed a few minutes of brainstorming when a group of police officers made their way through the glass doors of the BAU. There were only a handful of officers which surprised all of you, and Emily led the rest of you out of the conference room, beelining her way to the chief. “Hello, Landon. It’s nice to see you again.” She shook his hand briefly. “Likewise Emily, though I wish it was under different circumstances.” “As do I. I’m sorry for the miscommunication, I was under the impression that your entire force would be joining us. Is that not the case?” The chief, Landon Bridges you now knew him as, shook his head. “We knew you had a pretty tight space and we have a lot of members. I brought a few people from each department and figured it’d be easiest to fill everyone else in periodically. We didn’t want to overflow your space and leave no room to work.” Emily nodded and rested her hand on his shoulder. “I appreciate the thought, thank you. This is the rest of my team. SSAs Jennifer Jareau, Luke Alves, Matt Simmons, David Rossi, Y/N Y/L/N, Drs Spencer Reid and Tara Lewis, and our technical analyst Penelope Garcia.” You all gestured as Emily quickly introduced you, and a short time later you were all acquainted and working throughout the bullpen. You and Spencer were just beginning to start the geographical profile when one of the Washington police officers, Kline, made his way over to you. “Pardon me agents, do you need any help?” You looked up from your section of the grid lines and smiled at him which he returned brightly, but before you could answer, Spencer dismissed him. Kline’s face fell slightly but he nodded and made his way over to where Tara and Luke were reviewing the last known areas of the victims.
You turned and stared at Spencer in disbelief. He looked up after a few seconds, feeling your eyes burning a hole through the top of his head. “Yes?” You glared at him harder, before railing into him in a hushed tone “Don’t ‘yes?’ me. That was insanely rude. They’re here to help us! Quit acting all high and mighty.” He stared back at you and you saw the stubbornness light up his eyes. “Why should I? We could solve this case twice as fast without them getting in the way.” He knew he was talking too loud, and was more than aware of Kline who was staring at his back with a sour look resting on his face. “Spencer! I don’t know what your problem is, but you need to fix it. You’re being an ass.” He rolled his eyes and you both let out a sigh before looking back down at the maps covering the desktop beneath you.
A few hours passed before you and Spencer finished the geographical profile, and you gestured Kline over to ask him a few questions about the area you’d narrowed down. Spencer noticed he had made his way to your side and bit his lip to keep himself silent. “Officer Kline, can you tell me anything about this area of the block? It seems like a lot of our victims were last seen in this area.” He eyed the map where red ink stained the paper and pondered for a few seconds. “Well, there’s not much out there really. A few older shops and some construction to the east” he gestured to the empty spot of land on the map “but nothing of real interest. We don’t usually get calls for the homeless population over here either. There’s not really much shelter so they don’t usually go towards this way” Your brow furrowed and you nodded, thanking him but before he could get another word in Spencer piped up. “Kline, if the homeless population doesn’t “Go that way” he mocked the officer in front of you, and Kline tensed up in response “then why are they all disappearing from the area? Does that make sense to you?”
Kline struggled to respond and you glared at Spencer before assuring Kline there was no need for him to pay Spencer any mind, excusing his behavior with a rambling about late nights and too little coffee. Kline walked away and you stared Spencer down for several seconds before making your way towards the main group to deliver the geographic profile, leaving Spencer to sulk. You continued to avoid Spencer until you were sent out to investigate the block you sectioned off with Emily and JJ. You opted to drive which left Spencer in the passenger seat, fuming at your silent treatment and JJ and Emily trying to fight the tension in the SUV to no avail.
You parked the SUV a few blocks away and the four of you walked the rest of the way to avoid raising too much suspicion. You were standing in the center of the unsubs hot zone when you noticed a line of people clustered in front of one of the more rundown buildings. The building had wide front windows that had been taped over with brown paper, as well as the glass doors. You and Spencer approached the group warily, trying to get closer to see the poorly written signs on the door.
“DISCOUNT MEAT - PRE-COOKED”
“12pm-12am”
You gestured Emily and JJ over and the four of you quickly aimed to disperse the crowd much to their displeasure. After several minutes of arguing and multiple badge flashes you managed to succeed and stood outside the door ready to investigate once the owner opened his doors. Fifteen minutes had passed without any sign of movement from the inside and Spencer began to shift anxiously, causing you to do the same. A few more seconds passed and you heard the locks on the door click, reaching your hand around to rest on your holster automatically. As soon as the door opened, Emily pushed through holding her badge and announcing the reason for your investigation.
The shop owner immediately demanded you leave and not return unless you had a warrant. “Actually, because this is no longer a registered business it becomes property of the town and therefore is subject to any kind of local or national investigation under Property law 14, sections 3a-3f go more in depth about the issue if you feel the need to verify.” Spencer explained the situation while sifting through the counter drawers, leaving the man to sit in silent rage while Emily and JJ questioned him. You bent over to fiddle with a padlock on a hollowed bench seat on the far wall and pulled one of the pins out of your hair to pick it. A few seconds of tampering later, the lock gave way with a satisfying click and you pulled the bench open. A rancid smell hit your nose and stomach before you could process what you were seeing. Body parts were wrapped in butcher's paper and poorly taped, and you fought to keep your breakfast down as you slammed the bench shut. Emily then stood the man up and cuffed him, while reciting the miranda rights. JJ followed her out and you followed her quickly, trying and failing to erase the memory from your mind.
Back at the office, the rest of the team and several of the officers had already begun processing the unsubs case and there was little left to be done by the time you returned. You filled out your files and quickly wrote out your account of the incident before heading to the breakroom for a cup of coffee. You pulled your mug down from the shelf and pressed your favorite individual pod into the machine and pressed the button to let it run. You were digging in the fridge for your creamer when a deep voice startled you
“Little late for coffee isn’t it?” You turned swiftly to find Kline standing in the doorway and you let out a small sigh. “When you work like we do, it’s never too late for coffee” You smiled and made your cup to your taste, taking a long sip. You expected Kline to just grab what he wanted and leave, but instead he continued to make awkward conversation despite you going so far as to begin scrolling through your phone. “So, that Spencer guy is really a piece of work huh?” You fought the urge to roll your eyes and instead remained focused on your screen, telling yourself that he just didn’t get the chance to see the good side of Spencer like everyone else there had. “He’s really not a bad guy, he’s just had a long day. We all have.” Kline nodded but moved closer to you, so close that you could smell his headache-inducing cologne. “I’m just saying, if I had the opportunity to work with you every day, I wouldn’t waste my time arguing with you. I’d treat you right.”
You shifted uncomfortably, praying he would pick up on your uneasiness and back off but instead he moved to corner you against the counter. You tried to excuse yourself but your voice caught in your throat.
“Kline, I really overestimated you. I figured even a man as dimwitted as yourself would be able to tell when a woman isn’t interested but here we are.” Your head snapped up towards the doorway where Spencer was standing. Kline turned around and prepared himself to tell your boyfriend off when he froze. Spencer had the look in his eye that sent chills down your spine and made it very aware to Kline that there was no use fighting. He quickly left the room and you and Spencer held eye contact for several seconds before he spoke again “Meet me in the storage room at the end of the hall in 2 minutes.” His voice made your legs feel weak and you nodded, dumping the contents of your mug down the drain, keeping your pace in check as you slipped into the hallway.
You had barely unlatched the door when Spencer pushed it the rest of the way open and you felt yourself being dragged into the dimly lit space. You barely had time to let out a surprised squeak when you felt his lips against your throat, turning your noise into one of pleasure. His kisses quickly turned sharp, applying the expertly rehearsed amount of pressure to avoid marks but to still send shockwaves of heat to your core. “Spence” his name left your lips in a whine while he busied himself unbuttoning your blouse. “Spencer, you just lost the bet.” You felt a smirk grow across your face that disappeared as he hiked your skirt up to your hips while rubbing your clit through your panties. “Fuck the bet, Y/N. I’m sick of seeing you walk around here clueless. You know I’ve been all over Kline’s ass, little girl?” His voice dropped lower and he lifted you up to push you against the wall. “It’s because he couldn’t stop looking at yours.” You let out a moan as he pushed your panties to the side, slipping two of his fingers into you.
“Fuck baby, you’re so wet. Did me getting all protective of you turn you on? You like making daddy jealous?” You shook your head as well as you could manage, trying to keep your volume in check. “Answer me pet, or you’re not gonna get daddy’s cock in you like I know you’re desperate for.” You whimpered at his words “No! I-I wasn’t trying to make you jealous daddy I swear!” You stuttered as he began to spread you further with his fingers. He smiled against the exposed skin of your chest before removing his fingers. “That’s my good girl. You ready for daddy?” You nodded as he fiddled with his belt buckle, moaning in anticipation as he released his cock from his slacks. You bit your lip as he ran the tip over your folds, sucking in a harsh breath as he pushed himself deep inside you. He let you adjust for a moment while he sucked at your neck again. “Daddy, please move. Please, I need you.” He let his hips move, pulling almost all the way out of you before slamming you forward into the wall again. You let out a moan as he thrusted in and out of you. You felt like your skin was on fire, the lack of touch over the past days made everything more intense.
A few more minutes passed and you felt yourself growing dangerously close to the edge. “Spence I’m gonna cum” you felt his pace grow even more rapid and he circled your clit with his thumb. “I’m gonna cum inside you angel. I’m gonna fill you up with my kid. You want that huh? Want everyone to know that you belong to me, don’t you?” You moaned at his words “God yes, please daddy. Please cum inside me!” You felt his hips stutter under you and a familiar warmth as you finally climaxed. Your toes curled and your head fell back against the wall, trying to catch your breath.
“God Y/N that was amazing.” You let out a soft whimper as he pulled out of you and lowered you back down to your feet. He kissed you, pulling you closer than before. “I love you Spencer. Only you.” He touched the tip of his nose to yours and returned your words, while you both caught your breath. A few minutes later you both exited the closet, and tried to smoothly make your way back to your desks. Washington PD had finished the bureau required paperwork and had already left so things were much quieter.
You had just sat down when JJ looked up from her computer. “So Spence, whatcha gonna get?” His head snapped up and your cheeks flushed. “Wh-What?” he managed to stutter out. “From the diner? Garcia said she would run out and get dinner.” You both let out simultaneous sighs of relief and told her what you wanted, settling in for a long night.
The next weekend you had free, you found yourselves in one of your favorite spots. The low pitched buzzing added to Spencer’s anxiety as he tried to divert his focus to the bright neon signs. You held his hand, stroking it with your thumb as you waited for your tattoo artist and best friend, Vannessa, to finish Spencer’s design. You tried to distract him but before long she called you back to the table and you heard his breathing quicken. You helped him get settled on the table while Vannessa applied the stencil. She adjusted it until Spencer and you both approved and then she started. Spencer tightened his grip on your hand as she traced the lines while you murmured words of encouragement in his ear. Half an hour later, she was running Spencer through the after care process while wrapping his forearm up. You paid her and made your way out of the shop after thanking her.
Slipping into the driver’s seat, you watched as Spencer carefully maneuvered his way into the car, fastening his seatbelt and resting his arm against the door. The streetlight shining through his window highlighted his forearm perfectly, revealing the perfectly mimicked shape of a shaded black sun.

"Made me come all this way...it’d be a pity if I didn't get somethin' out of it."

"No, no, no, no, no—c'mon," you cry as your car engine spits and sputters to a stop in the road, coughing like an old man with asthma before it's dead for good. Jamming your heel on the gas pedal, you twist your key in the ignition, but there's no use. You're fucking stuck.
You sigh, before slamming your forehead against the steering wheel. It's hard enough to sting, and the blaring horn startles all unsuspecting birds in a five-mile radius, but you could care less. Stuck in the middle of the woods at one in the morning, AAA membership-less with nothing but the clothes on your back and the vehicle you came with. Short cuts are a fucking myth.

Mina's the only person you can think of calling—because frankly, she's the only one who'd know a mechanic who could help at this time of night if one exists. Which you doubt. Severely.
"[Y/N]?" Mina answers, semi-urgently. You wonder if you startled her out of a good sleep, but knowing the night owl, her evening is just beginning. "What's up?"
"I'm fucking stuck in the middle of nowhere," you groan, banging your head against the back of the seat though you know she can't see you. "Car's not working."
"Oh no," she coos, and her pity is useless. "Do you have AAA?"
"No. Do you have a mechanic?"
"A mechanic...at one am? I don—wait," she interrupts before you hear something akin to rustling sheets. "I might have a friend who could help! But don't get your hopes up girlie, he's a heavy sleeper."
You shrug, shaking your head. "At this point, I'm desperate."
"Alrighty!" Mina confirms, and now all you can do is fucking hope her friend pulls through. "I'll give him a quick buzz and then send his number over, sound good?"
"Sounds perfect," you breathe, relaxing (somewhat) with your chin against the steering wheel. "Thanks, girl."
"Of course!" she cheers, and you wonder how someone could have so much energy at this time of night. "Good luck!"
"Thanks," you snort. "I might need it."
Riiiing! Riiiing!
Eijirou's had a long day.
A pipe busted at the auto shop today, resulting in an immediate flood—meaning they had to get everything that could possibly rust out as quickly as possible, aka everything in the goddamn shop.
So, yeah. He's had a long day, and when he's finally able to get under the covers and go the fuck to sleep, Mina calls him with this.
"Hey...Eijirou, buddy, best friend—"
"Mina, I love you, but what do you want?" Eijirou grunts into the phone, voice worn and ragged from limited sleep and his terribly long day. One am is never an appropriate time to call anybody, but he figures something has to be up—Mina's not the type to call in the middle of the night.
"Um, well. My homegirl’s kinda stuck in the woods with car troubles—"
"The woods."
It takes Mina a second but she hums in confirmation, and Eijirou can see her head nodding from where he lays. He sighs, rolling on his back to blink up at the ceiling. "Yep!"
"What is she doing in the woods at midnight?"
"I don't know!" Mina exclaims. Eijirou runs a hand over his face. "I just—please, Ei? She doesn't have AAA or anything and it's really, really late. All you have to do is hotwire her car or something, right? It's not like she totaled it or anything."
And dammit. Eijirou hates being a nice person.
"Just give me ten."
Mina practically gasps out a thank you, "You're a lifesaver Ei! Really! I—"
She's interrupted by the buzz of his phone—this time, from an unknown number. Eijirou raises an eyebrow, "That her?"
"Should be!" The pinkette says. Eijirou's feet finally touch the floor and it's painfully cold. His bed has never looked more appealing, and that's counting all those instances in high school. "Thanks again, Ei!"
"Yep," Eijirou says, popping the 'p,' before clearing his voice and switching the line. Customer Service at one am, here he comes.
"Red Riot Auto Repair and Services, how may I help you?"
All he receives is a grunt on the other end of the phone: "My car won't turn on."
Eijirou waits for you to give him a little more to work with, but it's clear that's all you have to say when you ask hello to ensure he's still on the other end of the line. Runs his hands through his hair, he silently prays he won't have to leave the house to get your car to work.
"Did you try jiggling the key?"
"Yes, I'm not stupid," you huff, and Eijirou's eyebrows fold in exasperation. He insists you do it again though, and hears the weak splutter of your engine through the phone with a heavy heart. "'S fucking useless."
"Did you try tapping the battery terminals?"
"The battery whatsitals?" You say, too loud and smart-mouthed for the very thin amount of patience Eijirou harbors. He reaches for his hair tie, satisfied enough with the messy bun he makes on the first try.
"Just send me your location," Eijirou sighs, moving for a jacket before snatching the keys to the shed. He'd rather just get this over with than beat around the bush.
Luckily, you're not far.
"You drive that thing?" is your first comment, and Eijirou can't even appreciate your beauty before your first words shatter your image completely, and he's slamming the door to his truck with rolling eyes, rusted toolbox heavy in his hand. "It looks like Mater from Lightning McQueen."
Eijirou just stares at you for a second, just to see if you're really serious, and resists the urge to scoff when it seems like you are.
"It's a truck," is all he says, before marching around you and to the task at hand—your car. "Pop the hood."
You huff, but you listen, and Eijirou wastes no time in getting to work. You watch with your elbows balanced on the rim, curious but quiet, and that allows him to get in the zone enough to realize there are countless problems with your car.
"When was the last time you took this thing into the shop?" He probes. You click your tongue, eyes tracing the outlines of the trees as you search for an answer. That's never a good sign.
"Um...never?"
"And how long have you had it?"
"A few years," you nod, and Eijirou drops his head.
"It's a miracle you made it this far in the first place," he chuckles bitterly, shaking his head. What the hell is he going to do now? There's no way your car is moving anywhere tonight. You frown, jamming your hands on your hips.
"Well? Are you going to fix it or what?"
"I can fix it," Eijirou says with a shrug, closing your hood. "But not tonight."
"What do you mean not tonight?" You badger, breathing down his neck as he hikes back to his truck to set the toolbox down. There's no reason to carry it if he's not going to need it.
"I mean, your car's going to need a solid six months before it can run again, Sweetheart."
When Eijirou turns, you're much too in his face for his liking. He can practically feel your breath against his chest, and it has him rolling his eyes, leaning against his truck with arms crossed.
"Yeah, okay, but I need it to run tonight," you explain, gesticulating so wildly Eijirou fears his own chest may fall in the cross-fire. "Like, I need to get home tonight."
"I can't—" the redhead sighs, running his hand over his face. You're terribly difficult, and if Mina had given him a proper warning he probably wouldn't be here in the fucking first place. "Listen. My shop is out of commission for the next few days 'cause of a flood. I can work on your car or whatever, but it'll take a sec, so the most I can do is drop you at a hotel down the road or somethin'. Sound like a plan?"
"No," you growl, claws and all, and Eijirou wishes for nothing but death. "That doesn't sound like a plan! I don't know you, what makes you think I'll get in a car with you?"
Oh. My. God.
"Then you can spend the night in your car and have Mina come get you in the morning," he huffs, stomping over to the driver's side of his truck. "So it's either you're gettin' in, or I'm leaving ya."
With that, he slams the car door shut, shoves his key in the ignition, and counts to fucking ten, and on nine and a half you're flinging open the passenger door and bouncing in the seat, arms crossed over your chest in indignance. You don't even look him in the eye.
"Seatbelt," he warns. You tut.
"I don't need a fucki—"
"Put on the goddamn seatbelt."
You don't say anything, but he's satisfied by the click that follows. Eijirou shifts into drive and you two take off.
"The seat's so uncomfortable."
Not even twenty feet.
"Suck it up," is all the pity Eijirou has to offer. He's preoccupied with trying to get from this side road to a main road with, you know, actual civilization. The road is unsteady—unsteady enough that a bump sends the both of you flying towards the roof of his car, and naturally, you have something to say about it.
"Y'know, for a mechanic, you're not a very good driver," you say, and it has Eijirou's fists tightening around his steering wheel. His patience wears down until it has the height of a penny, and Eijirou worries for when it shatters because he has no clue what he'll do if it does.
"And it smells a little funky," you continue anyway, eyes wandering around the cabin aimlessly."Kinda like cheese. No offense."
Eijirou pulls over at that, teeth grinding. Is he really going to snap over cheese comment?
“Is this a condom?”
Yes. Yes, the fuck he is.
"Get out."
"Um—excuse me?" You blink, eyebrows raising in offense. "You're kicking me out. Because I found a fucking rubber?”
Eijirou glares your way and he's sure you can feel him radiating fury, and that's enough to convince you to hop out of the car without another word. He follows, slamming the door behind him.
"Okay? Now what?" You growl, and Eijirou loves it—the false display of confidence. Because he knows it won't take much to break you once he gets you under his thumb, and you'll look so pretty once he does. Cocking his head to his side, he tells you to come here without having to open his mouth. You follow.
"Now, on your knees."
You splutter at his request, rolling your eyes as if he wasn't being serious. Though you shut up once you hear the clink of his belt, lips widening in revelation, and Eijirou thinks you'd look much prettier with your mouth full.
"You made me come all this way—it'd be a pity if I didn't get somethin' out of it," Eijirou says, and the way you shiver implies that you like this more than you let on. He coos when you say nothing, "And for the first time today she's got nothin' to say. See? You're improving already."
He gives you a second to move. When you don't, he lifts an eyebrow. "Knees, Princess."
You do and Eijirou groans at the view, palming his hardening cock at the sight of your bambi eyes blinking up at him—and it's a pretty one, at that. Leaning against the door of his truck, he grunts, "Take it out."
Your fingers hook under the waistband of his boxers and Eijirou shivers upon contact with the cool air, but the warmth of your palm makes up for it. You spit on his cock with a curled lip and it's nothing short of crude, before you're swirling your tongue around the head and taking him as far as you can possibly go.
"Uh-uh," Eijirou tuts, grabbing you by the hair to pull your mouth off his cock. "We got at my pace, Sweetheart."
"Why?" You pout with a curled lip. Eijirou scowls.
"Because," he says, before stuffing half of his cock down your throat, "I'm gonna put that big fuckin' mouth to use at my pace."
With that, Eijirou thrusts into your mouth, using the grip he has around your hair as leverage. Your throat is impossibly warm and the way you choke has him keening, and that's enough for his hips to start picking up mindlessly.
"Shit—what a dirty fuckin' girl," he says, smirking when you moan around his cock. "You like this? You like sucking off a guy you just met?"
Your eyes flutter at that, nails digging into his thighs, and it nearly has him cooing. When you swallow around him Eijirou's hips stutter and he grunts, "In public, no less. Anyone could drive by and see you taking my dick down your throat...but you'd like that, wouldn't you? You want the world to know how much of a slut you are."
Your hand falls between your thighs and Eijirou grins like the devil as he watches you touch yourself on the dirty road, desperate just because knows how to push the right buttons. That's enough to have him caving, demanding you rise to your feet and get in the backseat of his car.
"Hands and knees," Eijirou urges, his body towering over yours from behind. It's not long before he's pinning your wrists to the windshield with one hand and using the other to land a harsh slap on your ass; harsh enough to make you jolt forwards from the force.
"Such a pretty ass," he coos before slapping it again, and your teeth dig into your bottom lip to muffle the sound. "And it's all for me, ain't it, Princess?"
You nod, but Eijirou spanks you again—he's looking for an answer.
"Y-Yeah, yes, all yours just—" your hips wiggle in search of his cock. Eijirou chuckles, leveling his lips with your ear.
"Want me to fill you up, Princess?"
You gasp out a yes, nodding vehemently. The redhead finds he likes you like this much better, chest rumbling with arousal. "Yeah? How bad?"
"B-Bad, please, I need t—fuck!"
Eijirou stuffs you full with one thrust, and even he needs a moment, freehand searching to hold onto your hip while his grip tightens around your wrists. You quiver under him, and he swears he can feel your gut contract around his cock, eyelids fluttering when you grind against him.
"Holy shit," Eijirou finds himself wheezing, not expecting you to be so tight. You drop your head against the cool windshield, whimpering like the pretty little thing you are, shuddering as he pulls out before ramming himself in again until he's balls deep. You scream, back arching from the angle.
And fuck. It's impossible for him to stop after that.
"Fuckin' look at you," Eijirou chuckles, body practically caging you against the seat, "Drooling all over my window like a slut. Fuck, you really know how to get a guy goin' huh?"
“Pull—pull my hair,” you request, words from his pistoning hips. Eijirou tuts and rips your hands off the window in favor of pushing your head into the seat, not making a move to yank on your hair once.
“I don’t think you’re in the right place to be making demands, Princess," he growls before his hot palm cracks against your ass, hissing from the way you tighten around him when he does.
You whine at that, pushing into him the best you can. It only spurs his hips on faster, and Eijirou lets go of your hands in favor of grabbing your face instead, groaning at the sight of the tears shining silver from the moonlight. He likes the fact that you can't do much but gasp and rock against him, your hands falling to clit to finally push yourself off the edge.
He looks at you and all he sees is his dumb little thing, who can't do anything, let alone get her car to work, and that's when Eijirou realizes he doesn't want this to be as much of a one-time thing as he initially thought.
"Gonna...gonna cum," you slur, cheek mashed flat against his window. Eijirou fucks you into the door of his truck, pace quick and bruising, as his mind thinks of all the fun you two could have together—all the fun he wants to have with you.
"Cum, Sweetheart. Make a mess of my cock and my leather seats, yeah? Show me how good I make you feel."
You tighten around his cock, tight, and that's enough to send him spiraling into an orgasm of his own, hips stuttering to a stop as he fills you up. Though his hips never stop, not until you're coming around his cock with a broken moan, curled toes digging into his car floor. He watches you catch your breath, splayed across the seat, with a sudden realization that he feels much lighter, but doubts it was the sex that did the trick.
"You fucked your anger out now?" You wheeze, breaking the silence, and Eijirou snorts.
"I—yes," he says before his eyes trail to the scratch marks around your hips and thighs. "Are you...okay?"
"Never been better," you toss your arms in the air like you're on a rollercoaster but lack the energy to scream. It's cute and it had the redhead re-evaluating everything, wondering how the day could start so shitty and yet, end so well. "Are you okay?"
His eyebrows furrow, "Why wouldn't I be?"
"I dunno," you shrug, and Eijirou finds it hard to stay focused when you look like that. "You asked me, so. Everyone needs a post-sex check-in, ya know?"
Fuck.
Fuck, yeah he's definitely keeping you.

same coin, different sides — jj maybank x carrera!reader
𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭: “ Jj x carrera!reader please! Where reader's proud to be a kook, but she still wants to be friends with the pogues. Jj likes her but he thinks she doesn't like him because she spends a lot of her time with the kooks. Angst with fluff maybe, but whatever you feel more comfortable writing :) ”
𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭: 1.4k
𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: angst, underage drinking
𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒓'𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒆: another request! thank you tons! oof, here we go with angst. i hope this is okay, trying to get the feel for writing more angst and fluff! i hope you enjoy 💖
JJ watched Y/N Carrera across the Boneyard, laughing beside some Kooks, more specifically—Rafe Cameron, Topper Thornton, and Kelce. He had mixed feelings for her, they were complicated. How could someone like her spend her time with people like that? What common ground did they share that made Y/N likeable by the Pogues and the Kooks?
JJ knew why he held feelings for her, but anytime he saw her with the Kooks—his gut would twist. Maybe it was jealousy—of who?
Maybe for the fact that Y/N would never date him due to him not having a trust fund, but he would remind himself that she wasn’t like that. She was similar to Kiara in that sense, selfless. She would spend her Friday afternoons during the summer to help give food to the homeless. She willingly spent her Saturday mornings cleaning up the beaches.
Y/N wasn’t like the other Kooks, she worked for a living.
Maybe it was insecurity that he wouldn’t be able to take care of her when she needs it, but all the past times she needed his help proved otherwise. He tried finding flaws to diminish his feelings for Kiara’s sister, but every point he made was debunked by something he admired about her.
JJ took a sip of his drink, eyes still on her.
“You’re staring, man,” John B patted his back, following his gaze to Y/N.
“I just don’t get it,” JJ muttered, refilling his drink from the keg.
“Sometimes you just don’t need to get it. Look at Sarah—”
“Sarah is different. She doesn’t hang out with them.” JJ interrupted. He held a point; Sarah wanted adventure and out of the future that the Cameron’s worked hard to preserve. JJ was sometimes convinced this was just a phase—she wouldn’t want to live the life they have at the end of the day. Maybe he thought Y/N would feel too.
As much as he wanted to go full Kook, wasn’t she already there?
John B’s eyes widened, nodding his head before taking another sip. He didn’t want to deal with this right now, he wanted to enjoy the party. He made his way back to Sarah and some other people. JJ would need to apologize for that later on. Kiara and Pope were sitting beside each other, surrounded by a fire and in too deep to realize the sour mood JJ was putting himself in.
When his eyes fell back on her, she was gone. No longer surrounded by the Kooks, but right beside him.
“Hey JJ, mind filling up my cup?” She offered him a sweet smile. She looked beautiful, he thought. The way her hair was tossed up and the way the sundress complimented her body. On her wrist, she wore some fancy bracelet—but touching it was the string bracelet JJ made for her a few days ago.
He wore the matching one as well.
“Yea, sure,” He was short to her, causing her smile to falter. She handed him her solo cup and he willingly filled it up.
She thanked him for his help, taking a sip and standing there awkwardly. “Do you want to dance?” Y/N asked, jutting her thumb towards the group of tourons dancing. His eyes flickered over her, to the group of people, and to the Kooks hitting on the girls.
“Why don’t you ask your buddies to dance with you,” Her retorted, pursing his lips.
“Because I don’t want to dance with them, I want to dance with you.” She crossed her arms, unsure of why suddenly JJ was treating her like this. Early she was laying in the hammock with him, attempting to toss grapes into his mouth.
“One minute you want to hang out with the Pogues and then another the Kooks. Why don’t you pick a side already?”
At that sentence, Y/N rolled her eyes. “You’re being immature, JJ. You’re creating something that was never there I—”
“I’m not being immature, Y/N. You’re the one being indecisive and it’s confusing me.” He shouted over the music, causing a few stares from people. She chewed on the inside of her lip, before grabbing JJ’s arm and pulling him away from all the people.
“What’s your problem? What did I do to you, JJ?” She questioned him, her hand still on his arm.
“You’re friends with them, you’re friends with us. One day, you’re going to have the same realization that Sarah will have and you’re going to leave us. You’ll have some fancy house and you won’t ever have to lift a finger. Probably Rafe will come home with his stupid ass gelled hair and get to call you his. I don’t want that for you—”
“JJ, why do you care what I want? What separates me from Kie, huh?” The two of them were getting worked up on the shore. The music in the background faded, they were in their own worlds.
“Pogues and Kooks don’t mix! I care about what you want because you’re what I want!” He finally exclaimed and silence fell between the two. “I feel like I’m your second option and I don’t want to be your second option. I want to be the one you’re with at parties. I want to be the one to take you to Midsummer and not some prick who will try to use you at the end of the night.” JJ rambled off, running his hands through his blonde hair. JJ wanted so much more. He wanted to spend nights beside her, getting high and watching movies, to spend more time on the HMS Pogue, to eating together at lunch once school started again. He wanted to wrap his arm around her and show her off.
Look at his girlfriend, Y/N Carrera. She’d be the only one he got at the end of the day.
He didn’t want to make an excuse every time to hang out with Y/N or to invite her along on their adventures.
“And I can’t help but to think you’d pick Rafe over me. So, tell me, Y/N—What do you want?”
She listened to him, wondering if this was some drunken outburst, but she found herself shaking her head at him. She stood there silently, eyes admiring his face.
“Please, say something,” JJ begged.
“Money means nothing to me, JJ. I would rather be broke and…and sleep on a pull-out couch with you—especially if the other option was Rafe Cameron or Topper—even Kelce.” Y/N had a closer relationship with Kelce compared to the other Kooks. She stepped closer to JJ, who stared at her intently, waiting for her to continue speaking. “I want to be happy in life. I want…” She trailed off, looking at him. “I want you.” She stated, heat rising to her cheeks.
“But I also can have friends with other people. Just because I’m friends with some Kooks doesn’t mean that I don’t like you or the Pogues. Once Kie introduced me to you all, I fell in love with every one of you—but especially you.”
They stared at each other for several seconds, “And if you want, you can take me to Midsummers. Just—maybe ask in a better way? Maybe with flowers or anything outside an argument?” Y/N laughed lightly.
“I think I can do that, Y/N/N.” He smiled down at her. “One last question: you won’t go full Kook on me, will you?”
“JJ, I’d only go full Kook with you.” She spoke sincerely, kissing his cheek. “Can we go dance now?” Her voice was soft.
JJ was soft for her.
They intertwined their hands together, arms brushing against each other as they walked back to the party. The music swept the two away, dancing closely together. The two’s laughter could be heard by anyone. Their dance moves were rather ridiculous, but they got closer and closer as all the songs passed.
He pulled her to face him, before pressing his lips against hers. “I forgot to kiss you earlier,” he whispered into Y/N’s ear.
“I was waiting for that, Maybank.” She teased.
Across the Boneyard, Rafe, Topper, and Kelce were shocked at the sight of her dancing with the Pogues instead of them. Kie and Pope nudged Sarah and John B, pointing out the moment her sister had with their friends.

Bootylicious
Stray Kids Bang Chan x Idol!Reader Summary: You're known as the gym rat in your group, and quite frankly, you only have two moods: shredding or chilling. This was why when you're not asleep in between schedules, you're spotted with a male idol you happened to meet in the gym you were at that day. It's a known fact though, that you and Bang Chan are gym buddies and each other's spotter. Word Count: 2k+ Warnings: Internet toxicity, sasaengs, vulgar language, sexism, misogyny, pining, fluff, mentions of Pentagon because why not <3, etc.
A/N: Girl, i shouldn't do this but I did. It's so funny to me someone requested this cause I have recently become an exercise junkie lol. Also, if you can't tell, there is a pov shift after the cut so yeah. I also wanted to keep the reader gender neutral but I want to write about how psychotically different people treat male and female idols because that stuff aint it. It's most definitely not what anon was expecting me to write but I hope they enjoy it nonetheless.
There's compilation in YT with growing parts centered around you flexing your physical fitness and prowess. It ranges from you affectionally touring your fans, which really meant the cameraman, through the gym, introducing your trainer, and doing your routine on camera, to your group (and others) both fawning and bragging about how strong and how hot you are.
CLIP #1: A scene from an interview of your group in Japan, struggling to talk about how you can do 40 straight push ups.
There was a male interviewer in a suit you could all faintly recognize was talking about your recent Instagram post of a gym mirror selfie.
One of your youngest members smirked and in broken Japanese, cutely said, "Wah, she does 100 push ups! Everyday, every night."
You snap your head to the maknae and raise your brows, "nani?" You begin to shake your hands in protest and begin to explain your truth, "absolutely not 100. Maybe around 40, but nooooo, not 100."
The interviewer and your group comically react in awe. The man in the suit urges, "can you show us?"
You give a face, "Excuse me, but I'm not getting paid to do that in this miniskirt."
Everyone, including the film crew, break into laughter.
CLIP #2: A scene from a variety show where you had to prove you were, in fact, yourself, by doing a shortened version of your exercise routine.
One of the hosts of the show asks, "Wait, do you honestly do all of this in your workout? Like you can do all of it?"
The list of your exercises were written on a colourful cardboard, held by the one who just spoke. It was a range of exercises in 10 sets, from jumping jacks to sit ups, to vague sounding exercises like crab pinches and robot arms.
You purse your lips at the last question asked of you, not really liking the tone in which it was asked. You answer quickly and nod proudly, "I actually do more, cause when I get in the zone and I'm already really sweaty, I feel like I should keep going until my whole body burns." You chuckle.
The older hosts, tilt their head and mutter lowly under their breath something along the lines of, "I'd rather die."
You finally do the routine, quickly, continuously, earning impressed reactions from everyone.
"That's hot," one of the hosts note.
"Ya, for some reason it looks easy to do."
The hosts begin to clamour at that statement, and force whoever said to do the exact thing you did. Clearly, they don't work out as much as you do and cannot even get halfway through it without stopping.
You break out into a breathless laugh in amusement of the comical attempt but then protest, explaining how bad it is to force yourself to do more than you can
CLIP #3: Pentagon, Hongseok especially, fawns over how fit you are
Trailing a conversation about how your group is close with Pentagon because your companies are situated closely to each other and you wind up eating together a lot, there is an anecdote about how there was a jar no one could open, no one but you, that is.
The interviewer asks no one in particular, "wah, none of you could open the jar? Really? Or did you all just pretend so she could open it?"
There is a chorus of answers concluding with, "no really, she was the only one that was able to open it."
The story is backed up by how the jar had a really small lid and some hands were too big. Then came an explanation how you were recently into the new rock climbing machine in your gym.
Hongseok speaks up, "I was invited to go to rock climbing in, like, an actual rock climbing place and I was honestly so surprised when she began to climb. She said she never actually tried rock climbing on a wall, but it seemed like she had been doing it for years."
Shinwon agrees, "Right, right. I was also really curious about what they did that day," he points to Hongseok, "that I joined them one time. I never felt so out of shape in my life. I just stayed back and filmed everything."
Pentagon laughs, and then agrees that you were exceptionally fast and just super fit in all honesty.
The interviewer catches Hongseok's expression then suddenly asks, "do you like a woman like that?"
"Yeah, I like my women strong."
Then came a lot of teasing remarks from Pentagon, and a plethora of complaints from delusional fans who did not want Hongseok to ever breathe in your direction again.
With all that's been said about that, in all the parts of this series floating around in the internet, one thing remained, there was a slightly larger population of impressed fans than the still large portion of antifans who wanted nothing to do with it and only came around to hate.
It's hard not to think about it, but even the slightest back handed compliment can sometimes linger in one's mind.
And right now, as much as I kept my mind on my counting as I finished my set high knees, I couldn't help but think of how much backlash I got from posting a post workout photo with my midriff exposed.
Apparently that was not only enough to merit hate for being both a whore and an attention whore, but people baselessly began to hate on my groupmates simply for being associated with me.
It's kind of sad really, how, say Wonho, can post a fairly exposed photo of himself and get so much praise for it, and yet I couldn't even do anything remotely close to that.
And I don't even mean to come at Wonho, we all know he's a beast at the gym and should be able to show as much of his hard work as he is comfortable in showing, but why can't I?
"Hey trooper. I thought you said you were only doing 80 counts?" a voice cracks me out of my train of thought.
I turn to whom spoke and chuckle at myself as I stop my leg raises, "ah yeah, I got lost in thought, and your really good song."
I pull on my earphones and give a lopside smile, "I love working out to God's Menu."
He gives a soft, "he he, thanks."
"No need for a thank you when I'm only giving my honest opinion, Chan."
"Yeah, well still, it makes my kokoro go doki-doki," he sniggers, crossing his arms and flashing a dimpled smile. I raise my upper lip and reel back, "EWWW!"
I playfully shove him. He acts hurt, "this is violence against children."
"Chan, you're literally older than me."
"That doesn't mean I'm not a child at heart."
"You mean, it doesn't mean you're not a drama queen."
"Hey, I have no interest in having a throne, my only interest is," he leans in and whispers, "you."
I feel my soul leave my body as he snorts to himself and runs away. I regurgitate in surprise, "YA!"
"You better do your next set properly," Chan says heading off to a cable row machine, "I'm always watching."
I try to ignore the blood rushing up your neck, "creep."
He shrugs, "rather that or have you get injured, sweet heart."
Yeah, Chan has saved me from a lot of injuries I could have had. It was a bad habit. It stemmed from the same thing that made me mess up my count a while ago, my overthinking.
Sometimes I thought of rather harmless things, but sometimes I began to fixate on the hate I received for simply being. I do a lot to get my mind to realize that they hated me simply because they could and because it was easy. Exercising helped tremendously, especially when I had someone fun to work out with, especially when I was with Chan. He just... made me feel safe, y'know.
But when the news of us being work out buddies surfaced, a lot of sasaengs came for me. Of course, a lot of Stays and my own fans were really kind about, speaking out that we were our own people and exercising together did not mean anything in particular really.
But some really went for it, and made it a hobby to comment on everything I was in that I was a slut for 'working out' with different men every day."
I let out a breath as I finish my routine. I catch my breath and go for a swig of my water. I take a moment then sit down by the mirror, which was near where Chan was currently working out.
"You're doing it again."
I turn from where I was blankly staring at turn to Chan who gave me a soft look, "you good?"
I release a sigh then purse my lips, "maybe."
He pouts, "what happened?"
I shrug and stand from where I sat, "you know, the usual."
Chan then comes up to me and takes my water bottle from me, "you know, no matter how much people say you don't need water to live, you can never change the fact that you are extremely dependent on water to live."
I look at him and half- heartedly point, "are you calling me thirsty?"
He begrudgingly groans and releases a chuckle. He calls my name out in a scolding tone. I feel myself relax, "I know what you're getting at Chan."
He nods, "good. I'll always be here to remind you of that."
I smile and feel an urge to hug him, "if you weren't so sweaty, I would totally hug you right now."
Chan then gives me a look then does not hesitate to crush me into his arms. I groan and whine in protest. He chuckles, "you literally just said you wanted a hug!"
"YOU'RE LITERALLY SO SWEATY. NO ONE WANTS THIS TORTURE."
Chan huffs and gives a wounded look, "hmp. You better spot me while I lift or else I'm unfriending you."
"Hmm... I think I'll be good without you as a friend."
I half expect Chan to whine about it, but he instead smirks, "ahhhh, you must want me to be your boyfriends so badly huh."
I- I mean...
CLIP #4: A crack edit of Chan when he gets asked about his gym relationship with me in Chan's Room.
He was looking through the questions and suddenly chuckles, his ears noticeably began to redden. Cue a zoom in of his face and his red ears. Cue a clip of Cardi B saying, "that's suspicious."
He says my name then continues, "am I close with her? Yeah. I would say I'm close with her-- and her whole group actually."
Captioned: Nice save, Chris.
"The kids and I are close with her group," he says, clearing his throat.
A clip of him clearing his throat is repeated about ten times.
Chan adjust the beanie he was wearing as he thinks of what he was going to say next, "we actually do work out together a lot because she's under a trainer that works with my trainer."
Captioned: Sure, Chan. That's the only reason, right?
Chan catches another question, "Is she a beast in the gym like Hongseok says?" He breaks into a laugh. He then rubs his cheek and grits his teeth.
A clip of someone saying, "Oh he's jealous," flashes on screen.
"Yeah," Chan finally says, "she's got a really high stamina."
Cue the clip, WHAT DID HE SAY?
Chan continues, "she can go between exercises without stopping. she doesn't even take that much time to catch her breath. In fact, she sings while exercising sometimes, which helps make her vocals stable."
Captioned: Queen Tingz.
The next thing that happens is Chan breaks into a laugh and begins to chuckle. He says, "Sorry I saw a funny comment."
Captioned: WHAT HE MEANS IS HE SAW A COMMENT SAYING 'SHUT UP CHRIS, YOU'RE WHIPPED."
Then came these comments:
LITERALLY LOOK AT HOW FLUFFY BANG CHAN GETS WHEN HE TALKS ABOUT HER DONT FUCKING TOUCH ME MY SHIP IS ALIVE
They are dating period. prove me wrong. you cant
Chan literally blushes over anything, buT HE TURNED INTO A TOMATO WHEN HE TALKED ABOUT HER BYE
if you hate on your faves loving each other, you most definitely need Jesus (:
PLEASE CAN YOU SEE HOW WHIPPED THEY ARE FOR EACH OTHER
Yeah... it's not been confirmed to this day.

“who the hell is megumi fushiguro?”
your gaze was fixed on the faded ink reading the now all too familiar characters. the characters spelling out a name that managed to keep showing up on the yellow tinted checkout cards tucked into the books you borrowed.
nobara glanced over your shoulder, inspecting the piece of cardstock tucked between your fingers. wrinkling her nose in disgust, she plucked the card from you, holding it closer to her face.
“whoever it is, they have terrible handwriting.” she stuck her nose up, turning back to you with a playful smile. “i don’t know how you managed to get ‘megumi fushiguro’ out of that chicken scratch.” a face of mock distress crossed her features as she did air quotes around the name, as if she couldn’t believe such a delicate name would be given to someone with such handwriting. she’s always had a tendency to be a bit over dramatic about trivial stuff like this.
with nothing more than a huff in response, you snatched back the card, tucking it neatly back into your library book. your fingers grazed the worn down cover for a moment, gliding along the slight tears around the corners and the stiffness of the yellowing pages.
‘i wonder how many of these creases came from megumi fushiguro?’
“whoever it is, it seems like that name shows up in every book i check out in the library.”
nobara kicked a rock as she walked, leaving a small cloud of dust around her feet. “maybe you’re just imagining it. you always stay up so late doing whatever the hell it is you do in your free time that you’ve probably begun to hallucinate.” she nudged you playfully, eliciting a dead pan expression from you.
“i’m serious nobara. i mean, i’ve never really believed in fate but there’s no way it’s completely coincidental!”
she raised an eyebrow, as if to say you can’t be serious. “i think you’ve been reading too many romance novels, for all you know this person could totally be just some weird old guy with nothing better to do than visit the library.”
“hey!” you acted as if that last bit was a personal attack on you, and knowing nobara it probably was. “i’m not saying this megumi fushiguro person is my soulmate or anything, i just think it’s a very strange coincidence.” you shrugged off your backpack as you talked, putting away your book. noticing the suspiciously light weight of your bag, you rummaged your fingers around for a moment to find that your sketchbook had gone missing.
crap.
nobara turned to you, perceptive as ever of your suddenly altered demeanor. “forget something again?” it was almost annoying sometimes how well she knew you. was it really that obvious?
“just my sketchbook,” your hands rifled through your bag one final time to make sure you really didn’t have it “probably left it on the park bench or something, it’ll just be a minute to get it.” you turned to her with a sheepish smile, silently pleading her to follow you there. she stared blankly at you for a moment, probably having one of her internal monologues about how lucky you were to have her as a friend, before rolling her eyes and following suit.
“this better be quick, i have places to be you know!”
“no you don’t.” you turned around before you could meet her melodramatic glare.
behind you, you could hear her huff of dissatisfaction, though she made no move to leave, reassuming her position next to you, giving you a gentle nudge as she brushed next to you.
as you walked, the sunlight peeking between trees framing your pathway began to warm your face, highlighting the ends of your eyelashes and the tops of your cheeks with the warm glow of the first hints of summer time. for a moment, you closed your eyes, letting yourself be enveloped in it, before your fleeting thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a bike coming in your direction. you felt as if you’d jump out of your own skin in that moment, hearing a “move out of the way!” from a husky, disembodied voice.
it probably looked pretty ridiculous how you jumped out of the way, kicking up a fleeting cloud of dust as you avoided the sudden presence of the biker. grounding yourself, your eyes flickered up to the source of the voice, being met with the gaze of stormy blue eyes, framed by long, dark eyelashes that nobara would most definitely be envious of. taking in the boy’s whole figure, your eyes were drawn to the messy black hair atop his head, formed at the ends into contradictorily gentle looking spikes. the sleeves of his white button down were rolled up taut around his forearms, leading your gaze to his hands wrapped tightly around the bike handles.
oh, right. he’s still biking.
you turned your focus back to keeping to your side of the path momentarily, before the sight of your name written atop the sketchbook peeking out of his bag came into your field of vision as he continued to move past you. before you had time to think rationally, you turned to his now retreating form, breaking into a jog, kicking up a few more dust clouds as you did.
ignoring nobara’s incredulous calling of your name, you tried to call to the boy who had no intention of slowing down. “excuse me!” you cupped a hand around your mouth, hoping to project your voice louder. “hey!” the irritation in your voice was clear, but you breathed a small sigh of relief as the bike slowed to a stop, and the spike headed boy turned to your direction.
after an awkward moment of your continued jogging to him while he stood with a blank expression, you stopped in front of him, an accusatory look grazing your features.
“i think you have something of mine.” you tried your best to imitate the confident attitude you always admired from nobara, placing a hand on your hip and using the other one to point to his bag. his gaze followed the direction of where you pointed, his eyebrows raised while the rest of his face remained stagnant.
“oh, this?” he tugged the cardboard covered sketchbook out of the pocket it had been placed in, examining the cover. his eyes flickered between your name written in the top corner, and your currently annoyed looking face, as if he was playing some sort of word association game. you simply nodded in response, anticipation clear in your actions.
as he held out the sketchbook to you, he leaned down so his face was closer to you, as if to tell you a secret, voice low and eyes trained on you. “you should be more careful next time. you’re lucky i’m nice enough to not just steal this from you right now.”
you didn’t have an explanation as to why your heart began to race.
taking your silence as a response, he pushed it into your hands, his fingers brushing against yours gently. “nice drawings by the way, i recognize your friend over there from the portrait you drew of her on the first page.” his face remained stoic as he pointed at nobara, who was tapping her foot in boredom.
face warm from embarrassment, you snatched the sketchbook from where his hands lingered on it, muttering a bitter sounding “thanks” before stalking over to nobara once more, who looked relieved that she’d finally be able to go wherever it was she was going to.
“what an asshole.” you glared at him over your shoulder as he biked away, your gaze lingering a second too long for someone so insistent on hating him. nobara shook her head in response, clearly annoyed at your own obliviousness after witnessing the whole interaction.
a smug smile crossed her soft features. “maybe that’s megumi fushiguro.”
you raised a brow as you glanced at her. “as if!”
despite your insistence on your distaste for the mystery boy, he managed to have flooded your thoughts. ‘he must be using sorcery or something to keep himself on my mind, weirdo.’
still, you couldn’t deny how just a few more of your portraits were accented by ocean blue eyes, or pointed ends to the different mops of hair you sketched. how did you manage to keep attracting mystery people into your life?
when you returned to the library, you gripped a thick science fiction novel, the pages brushing your soft fingers as your marched it up to the checkout counter. as the librarian wrote the date on a small piece of cardstock, you took note of the fact that your name would be the first one there. had megumi fushiguro missed out on this one?
a pleasant smile stretched across your face as the librarian handed the book back to you. scrawling your name at the top of the checkout card, your eyes flickered to a stamp of ink beneath the slot for it.
donated by fushiguro.
of course it was.
the library door squeaked quietly as you pushed it open, one hand on the door, and the other placing your new book in your backpack. zipping it up and throwing it over your shoulder, you were met with the feeling of a dog sniffing your leg. your eyes trailed down to a dog almost akin to a small polar bear brushing its nose against your calf. reaching your hand to scratch softly against the back of his head, you coo gently at the not-so-little little guy.
“what’s got you all by yourself buddy?” an involuntary smile creeps onto your face at how he calms at your pats.
wordlessly, obviously considering this is a dog, he turns and walks a few steps forward, before pausing and tilting just his fur covered face toward you, egging you on to follow him just as you had the other day with nobara. you considered for a moment, before shrugging and giving in to his pretty minimal amount of convincing. nobara would be out getting lunch with maki today anyways, so you could use something to do today. after all, it could be fate.
it was almost as if you were one of those people who walked their dog without a lash, but in reality, it was more like the dog was walking you as it lead you down tall, sidewalk-lined hills and through parks filled with young parents having picnics with their children and couples going on walks. you wondered to yourself if this was a worthwhile excursion, was he just leading you to a dead end, or worse, was he some dog trained by a gang to lure people into danger?
after walking a few minutes more, you found out the spot you were being lead to was, in fact, even worse then both the possibilities you’d been brainstorming in your head, when you were met at the bottom of another hill with the stoic expression of that spike head. his eyes softened at the sight of the dog, a ghost of a smile tugging at his lips that quickly vanished as he met your gaze, his eyes hardened in contrast with the bashfulness that shone on his cheeks.
“oh, you found him. thanks for that.” he cleared his throat awkwardly, shifting his gaze back to the dog. you shifted your weight from one foot to the other. to be fair though, what did you expect you’d do when you found where the dog was leading you?
“i should probably go.” your usually collected demeanor had been replaced with that of a puppy with its tail tucked between its legs. with a stiff wave, you took your leave, turning on your heel.
“wait.” his voice wavered, as if trying to catch himself before he spoke. “i can walk you home if you want. it’s the least i can do after you got him home.” he forced a smile onto his face, though it made him look more constipated than inviting. what happened to the snarky, aloof boy who had handed you your sketchbook just a few days ago?
still, you nodded, lips pressed into a line that you hoped resembled somewhat of a smile. surely, you should have been more worried about his sudden change in demeanor, but the relieved expression on his face seemed to soothe your nerves a bit. he assumed a spot next to you, tucking his hands in his pants pockets.
“your little buddy there lead me all over the city trying to find you, so i don’t exactly know how to get home from here, but maybe you can just lead me to the library.” you turned so you faced him, now aware of the close proximity between you two. nobara would probably laugh in your face if she could witness the moment you paused, stunned by the eye contact he made with you under his thick eyelashes. had you been perceptive enough in the moment, you may have noticed the blush creeping up his face. he nodded his head, which was already tilted down to face you fully, with eyes hazy and lips slightly parted.
“it’s just this way, i’ll show you.” he removed his hand from its pocket to point up the hill that had brought you to him in the first place. you gripped the straps of your backpack and faced in the direction he pointed to obediently, hoping to ignore the weird tension in the air. what could you talk to him about?
before you could continue your internal dilemma, he cleared his throat again. “you seem to like the library a lot, huh?”
by god was this boy terrible at small talk.
“i guess i do, but i don’t know how you came to that conclusion considering i only just brought up the library.” you cocked an eyebrow as you looked at him, probably sounding more annoyed than you’d intended.
he smiled knowingly at you, a hint of disbelief on his features as he raised his eyebrows. “i guess you wouldn’t know since your nose is always buried in a book, but i see you there like every day.”
your eyebrows furrowed so they practically touched, trying to rack your memory for seeing him in the library. “i’m sure i’d be able to recognize you if you did.” you were completely oblivious to the implications of how memorable you found him that laced your statement.
he shrugged nonchalantly. “believe it or not. i even tried sitting down in front of you a few times, but you were always too focused on your books to notice.” his smile was almost bittersweet as you waited by a stoplight. before you could respond, he continued. “it’s kind of admirable though. i think it’s nice that you’re so passionate about your books.”
you took a chance to look at him, really look at him, for the first time since you’d glared at him biking by. he held your gaze, eyes gentle. there was absolutely no way this was the same boy carrying your sketchbook in his bag from a few days ago.
“well if you think i’m so nice, what was with you trying to be all smart about my sketchbook?” ever the stubborn one, you were.
he shrugged his shoulders, shoving his hands back in his pockets. “you really should be more careful of your stuff. i was just letting you know. it’s not like i would have put in that effort for just anyone’s sketchbook. i guess i was just trying to make sure you wouldn’t lose it again. sorry if i offended you.”
the way he was blushing would have made any bypasser believe he’d just asked you to marry him.
“it’s just…” he continued “after seeing you in the library all the time, i thought you were really impressive. i thought if i tried to return your sketchbook, i could impress you too.” he kicked a rock that touched the edge of his sneaker.
“why would you wanna impress me?” your obliviousness was excruciating for the poor boy, though it was completely sincere on your end.
“you know, for someone so smart, you really are dense.” he pursed his lips, feigning annoyance. “and here i was thinking i was so obvious.”
at this point, you were nearing the library, and suddenly desperate to continue this conversation that you would have been dreading at the start of this walk.
“when it was obvious you weren’t gonna look up from your book, i tried checking out as many books as i could to get on your radar.” his smile had a weird hint of sadness behind it. you stayed silent, piecing together facts in your head.
“recognize the name megumi fushiguro?”
oh.
it pained you for a moment to know you’d have to tell nobara she was right.
“you’re megumi fushiguro?” your eyebrows shot up in surprise, mouth slightly agape. he seemed to stifle a laugh at your expression.
“i mean, what were you expecting?” he looked a little too smug for someone who was too scared to talk to you in the library.
“some weird old person, probably.” you shrugged, still with an incredulous look on your face. “i’m glad it wasn’t though.”
“oh?” he really did have a nice smile. “i guess you’re glad it was me then.” even he was unsure of this sudden confidence.
you pondered his question for a moment, but your body moved before your brain did, nodding your head slowly. he seemed to loosen up then, hands out of his pockets again, making you aware of how close you stood to him with the way his fingers brushed yours every few steps. a slight sadness filled your being as you stopped in front of those squeaky library doors that suddenly seemed so uninviting.
“i’ll tell you what then,” he started confidently, juxtaposing the bashful way he avoided eye contact with you all of a sudden “come to the library again tomorrow, and i’ll meet you there. really meet you this time, not just walking past your table. i can show you my favorites there and you can show me yours, it’ll be…fun.” he looked up almost worriedly for your reaction, slightly angry at himself for his sudden shyness, you seemed to have quite the effect on him.
there was a beat of silence, and he almost cut the tension in the air by taking back his request and booking it back home. before he could fully hatch his master escape plan, you reached over to grab his hand, his slender fingers lacing through yours. you gave it a light squeeze, and swore you could feel him jump a little at the contact.
“i’d like that a lot,” you looked in his eyes, which had gone from defensive to doe like in just your five words “megumi fushiguro.” he loved the way his name sounded coming from you. his anticipation cracked into a smile as he squeezed your hand back, and you prided yourself on getting to make him smile again.
“i’ll see you tomorrow, then.” he leaned down slightly as he said it, reminiscent of how he had scolded you about your sketchbook just a few days ago. you nodded in response, unable to stop the giddy smile stretching across your face.
tomorrow couldn’t come any faster.
